THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY ADVISED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 15,500.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, A POPPING NOISE EMITTED FROM THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE ENGINE AND NOTICED THAT THE RADIATOR OVERFLOW TANK WAS PUNCTURED AND SPILLING COOLANT OVER THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL MECHANIC, WHERE THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE RADIATOR OVERFLOW TANK AND GASKET FOR THE UPPER INTAKE VALVE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,737.

VEHICLE ENGINE SEIZED WHILE ON MOUNTAIN HIGHWAY I80, OUT SIDE OF SALT LAKE CITY. DISCOVERED VIA INTERNET THAT 2.7 ENGINES DEFECTIVE. DEALER NOT RETURNING CALL. RESEARCH SAYS THE SIGN THAT THE ENGINE IS STARTING TO SEIZE IS THE FLICKER OF THE OIL LIGHT. VEHICLE SOLD WITH THE POTENTIAL OF A CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE, WHICH HAPPENED A MONTH AND A HALF AFTER VEHICLE SOLD. CAR HAS ONLY BEEN DRIVEN 922 MILES SINCE PURCHASED. *TR

Car will start sometimes and then will not. Replaced 20 amp fuse and it will start. Maybe 10-15 times it will start and then it will not. My wife drives the car and is very concerning to her. Have looked at other complaints on your site about this and no one has had it resolved!!!!

I PURCHASED THIS CAR NEW AS A CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR MY WIFE IN 2004. SHE HAD INFORMED ME A COUPLE OF TIMES PRIOR TO THE REPORTED DATE THAT SHE'D EXPERIENCED THE CAR FAILING TO START WHEN SHE TURNED THE SWITCH. SHE STATED WHEN SHE TURNED THE IGNITION TO START THE CAR NOTHING WOULD HAPPEN-- THE CAR WOULD JUST BE SILENT. AFTER RETURNING THE KEY TO THE START POSITION AGAIN AND ATTEMPTING TO START IT-- THE CAR WOULD START. IT HAS ALSO HAPPENED TO ME ON A FEW OCCASIONS. THE PROBLEM WAS NEVER LOCATED. WE JUST CONTINUE TO USE IT AS IS. OVER THE YEARS WE HAVE EXPERIENCED OTHER ELECTRICAL RELATED ISSUES-- NONE HAVING BEE RESOLVED. FIRST THE CAR LIGHTERS STOPPED WORKING. I HAD THEM REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES BUT THEY CONTINUED TO SHORT OUT. THE FUSE (UNDER THE DASH FOR THE LIGHTERS) JUST BLOWS OUT (LITERALLY TOSSES OUT) ANY FUSE YOU PUT IN IT. SO IT TOO IS NO LONGER IN USE. WE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH A TAIL LIGHT THAT KEEPS BLOWING OUT. WE KEEP REPLACING IT BECAUSE IT ONLY LAST ABOUT THREE MONTHS AT A TIME. MEANWHILE THE OTHER TAIL LIGHT HAS NEVER HAD TO BE REPLACED-- IT WORKS JUST FINE! THE SUN HAS NOW NOW WARPED THE DASH BOARD AND IT HAS BEGAN TO BUCKLE. IT'S A 2004 NOT A 1954! I'VE NEVER SEEN A CAR WITH THESE NUMEROUS PROBLEMS. WE HAVE A 1996 HONDA CIVIC IT LOOKS GOOD, RUNS GREAT, AND IS ALL ORIGINAL, AND WE'VE CARED FOR IT JUST AS WE DO THIS SEBRING. AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY I NOTICED A BURNING SMELL. I LOOKED TO MY RIGHT AND I SAW SMOKE. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I THEN TURNED OFF MY VEHICLE. THE SMOKE STOPPED. I HAD MY DOGS BED ON THE PASSENGER SEAT. WHEN I MOVED IT, I SAW THE BURN WHOLE IN THE SEAT AND THE DOG BED. IT WAS 85 DEGREES. I DID NOT HAVE THE HEATED SEATS ON. IF I DID NOT HAVE THE TOP DOWN THE CAR WOULD HAVE FILLED WITH SMOKE CAUSING MAJOR VISIBILITY PROBLEMS. IF IT WEREN'T FOR THE DOG BED THAT SMOTHERED THE FIRE, THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN FLAMES. MY DOG AND I MIGHT NOT BE HERE TO REPORT THIS FIRE. AFTER CHRYSLER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE THEY DETERMINED THERE WAS NO DEFECT. CHRYSLER WILL NOT TELL ME WHAT CAUSED IT OTHER THAN IT WAS NOT A DEFECT AND THEREFORE NOT THEIR PROBLEM. THE DEALER I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO SAID THERE WAS A SHORT IN THE RELAY. VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN THE RECOMMENDED DISTANCES AND THE COMPUTER FAILED TO RESET. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALERS THEY ASK FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE DRIVEN FOR AN ADDITIONAL 400 MILES. AT THE COST OF FUEL, TOLLS, AND TIME SPENT ON THE ROAD, THE EMISSION INSPECTION IS COSTING A FORTUNE FRO VEHICLE THAT IS ONLY FOUR YEARS OLD. THE ENGINE RESTARTED AND RESUMED NORMALLY. IN ADDITION, ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AN UNINTENDED ACCELERATION OCCURRED WHEN DEPRESSING THE BRAKE OR ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000. I HAVE OWNED A 2004 CHRYSLER SEBRING FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN SPORADIC THROUGHOUT THE TIME I'VE HAD THE CAR. AFTER DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THEN NEEDING TO COME TO A STOP AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, STOP SIGN, OR TOLL BOOTH, THE CAR PERIODICALLY DOES ONE OF TWO THINGS; IT EITHER STALLS, WHICH THEN I HAVE TO RESTART THE CAR AND ALL IS FINE, OR THE RPMS DROP AND THIS CAUSES THE CAR (BY ITSELF) TO REACT BY REVVING UP THE RPMS AND LUNGING FORWARD WHILE MY FOOT REMAINS ON THE BRAKE. IT'S NOT SO MUCH THE STALLING PART THAT BOTHERS ME, AS I RESTART THE CAR AND GO. HOWEVER, ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, I NEARLY HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME WHEN THE CAR LUNGED FORWARD. THE OCCURRENCES ARE INFREQUENT, BUT IT IS ONLY GOING TO TAKE ONE TIME THAT THE NEARLY BECOMES AN ACCIDENT. THIS ISSUE OCCURS MAYBE 15-20 TIMES PER YEAR. OUT 20 OCCURRENCES, IT WILL STALL 18 TIMES AND LUNGE 2 TIMES. NOTHING HAS EVER BEEN FOUND TO BE MECHANICALLY WRONG WITH THE CAR. Random stalling upon deceleration with no warning lights after stalling (as if the engine thinks it is still running). Occurs at low speed. Sometimes the engine will surge when the rpm drops off instead of stalling. I have almost run into other cars when the surging happens. The stalling occurs randomly and is becoming more frequent. A scan of the internet shows many others with same issue. No CEL.

The contact owns a 2004 Chrysler Sebring. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power with smoke coming from underneath the hood. Smoke then entered the cabin of the vehicle. No warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the odometer was inoperable. The contact restarted the vehicle; however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that her daughter had asthma; however, the contact and her two children did not receive medical attention. The dealer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact to tow the vehicle to their location. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. I SMELLED A BURNING SMELL THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON SO I BROUGHT IT TO MY MECHANIC AND HE FOUND A LOT OF STRESS CRACKS IN THE OIL PAN WHICH IS ALUMINUM TOLD ME I WAS LUCKY THE ENGINE DIDN'T SEIZE OR CATCH ON FIRE THE EXHAUST PIE IS UNDER ONE OF THE CRACKS AND AS THE CAR GOT HOT THAT CRACK EXPANDED. FOR APPROXIMATELY 2 WEEKS, MY 2004 CHRYSLER SEBRING HAS BEEN HAVING WHAT I CONSIDER TO BE A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. WHEN THE CAR IS PLACED INTO REVERSE TO BACK UP, THEN SHIFTED INTO DRIVE AND THE GAS PEDAL PRESSED, THE CAR CONTINUES TO TRAVEL IN REVERSE. I PLACED THE CAR IN PARK, THEN SHIFTED TO DRIVE. THE CAR CONTINUED TO TRAVEL IN REVERSE. AGAIN, SHIFTED TO PARK AND BACK TO DRIVE. THE CAR THE DRIFTED FORWARD WHILE THE ENGINE SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS REVVING. I BOUGHT THE CAR USED AT IN 2005 WITH 23K MILES. AFTER ABOUT A MONTH WE NOTICED A HARD SHIFT PROBLEM BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND MAINLY. WE TOOK THE CAR IN FOR REPAIRS SEVERAL TIME BUT THE DEALER CLAIMED THEY COULDN'T FIND A PROBLEM. FINALLY THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM AND DID A PARTIAL REBUILD ON THE TRANSMISSION. AFTER ABOUT TWO WEEKS THE PROBLEM RESURFACED AND THE DEALERS STILL COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. I TRIED A DIFFERENT DEALER JUST AFTER THE CAR HIT 36K AND THEY ALSO CLAIMED NO PROBLEM AND CHARGED ME FOR THE SERVICE SINCE IT WAS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY. I HAVE A 2004 CHRYSLER SEBRING WITH A 2.7L V6 ENGINE. THE POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS PROBLEM WHICH HAS COME UP NUMEROUS TIMES IS THE ENGINE RPM WILL SURGE CAUSING THE CAR TO LURCH FORWARD. THE PROBLEM OCCURS WHEN COMING TO A STOP - THE ENGINE RPM WILL DROP TO THE POINT WHERE THE ENGINE WILL ALMOST STALL, THEN SURGE EXCESSIVELY CAUSING THE CAR TO LURCH FORWARD. THIS SURGE OF RPMS HAS CAUSED ME TO ALMOST HIT CARS IN FRONT OF ME AND WORSE, SENDING ME INTO AN INTERSECTION WITH ONCOMING CARS. I HAVE A 2004 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE PROBLEM IS THAT IT HAS DOOR HANDLES THAT HAVE A METAL COVERING ON THEM. I HAVE REPLACED THEM SEVERAL TIMES. THE METAL COVERING ON THE HANDLES START TO PEEL OFF AND IT CUTS YOUR HANDS IF NOT CAREFUL. MY GRANDDAUGHTER REQUIRED STITCHES FROM OPENING THE BACK DOOR. I HAVE ALSO HAD SERIOUS CUTS. The contact owns a 2004 Chrysler Sebring. The contact stated that while her fiancée was driving approximately 30 MPH, the vehicle seemed as if it was running out of gasoline. The check engine and a fuel warning light were illuminated. The driver pulled over at a service station and became aware of gasoline pouring from the fuel return. The driver parked the vehicle in a nearby parking lot. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.

I HAVE A 2004 CHRYSLER SEBRING CONVERTIBLE V6. THE CAR STALLS EVERY ONCE AND A WHILE, AFTER STOPPING OR WHILE RIDING AT LOWER SPEEDS, MOST OFTEN IN HOT SUMMER DAYS. THE MAIN CONCERN IS THAT WHEN IT STALLS WHILE RIDING, I LOSE POWER TO THE BREAKS AND THE STEERING WHEEL, MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. IT ALSO HAS A PROBLEM THAT AFTER RUNNING FOR A WHILE ON A HIGHWAY USING THE CRUISE CONTROL, WHEN IT COMES TO A STOP, IT BEGINS TO STALL, BUT I GUESS THE FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM KICKS-IN AND THAT LEADS TO A VERY RAPID ACCELERATION. AT THAT MOMENT, IF I AM NOT PRESSING FIRMLY ON THE BREAKS, THE CAR MAY EVEN JUMP FORWARD AND HIT SOMETHING. I REPORTED THESE ISSUES TO THE DEALER WHILE IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY BUT THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE IT. SINCE THIS HAPPENS SPORADICALLY AND I AM ALWAYS PREPARED FOR SUCH EVENTS, I DID NOT INSIST TOO MUCH WITH THE DEALER. I READ THE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN (TSB )FOR THE PROBLEM, AND CONTACTED CHRYSLER CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY ADMITTED THERE WAS A PROBLEM, BUT WON'T DISCUSS THE MATTER THAT IT WAS DEFECTIVE, NOR WAS IT COVERED. IN FACT, I WAS INFORMED THAT EVEN IF THE CAR WAS BRAND NEW THAT CHRYSLER HAS NOT OFFERED TO REIMBURSE COSTS OR TO REPAIR THIS PROBLEM FOR THE OWNER. THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE RAISED HIS VOICE AND CHALLENGED ME, WHEN I CALMLY INFORMED HIM I WOULD BE IN TOUCH WITH COMPANY OFFICIALS AND WITH MY STATE'S ATTORNEY GENERAL, SO THAT SINCE THERE WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS SYSTEM, BUT NO RECALL. BOTH ARE 2004 MODELS AND BOTH OF THE HOSES TO THE WIPER SPRAYER BROKE AT THE BEND WHERE THE HOOD CLOSES, NEXT TO THE WINDOW. THEY HAVE USED A PLASTIC TUBE THAT IS NOT FLEXIBLE, AND AFTER A FEW HOOD OPENINGS, IT BREAKS. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO HAVE THE GRINDING SOUND, WE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND AGAIN WORK WAS DONE ON THE BRAKES. WE DID NOT HAVE OPPORTUNITY TO DRIVE IT MUCH AFTER AS OUR DAUGHTER GOT INTO A CAR ACCIDENT WITH THIS VEHICLE ON OCT 13, 2005, SHE WAS PULLING OUT OF THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PARKING LOT (NO MORE THAN 5-10 MPH) TO GO ACROSS THE ROAD TO ENTER THE HIGH SCHOOL AND ANOTHER VEHICLE HIT HER FRONT CORNER PASSENGER SIDE (OTHER VEHICLE WAS GOING APPROX 40-45 MPH). THERE WAS A POLICE REPORT TAKEN AND A TICKET WAS ISSUED, BUT SHE IS FIGHTING THE TICKET BECAUSE IT WAS DUE TO THE BRAKES FAILING. NONE OF THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THIS CAUSED THE CONSUMER TO HIT HER HEAD AND SHE HAS POST CONCUSSION SYNDROME WITH POSSIBLE SEIZURES AND IS OUT OF WORK. SHE ALSO HAD BRUISED RIBS AND A NECK AND SHOULDER INJURY, ALL ON THE LEFT SIDE. THE DOCTOR HAS PUT HER ON COMPLETE DISABILITY AND SHE CAN NOT EVEN DRIVE A VEHICLE AT THIS TIME. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT MORNING AND SPOKE TO THE GM WHO PASSED ME OFF TO THE SERVICE MANAGER (LATER I WAS TOLD THIS WAS NO LONGER THE SALES DEPT'S CONCERN-IT WAS NOW A SERVICE ISSUE). THE SERVICE MGR, DAVE TOMKO, TOLD ME HE WAS INVOLVED WITH THE CAR THE PREVIOUS DAY AND SAW NO PROBLEM. I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK ON OCT 9TH FOR DAVE TOMKO TO VISUALLY CONFIRM THE DEFECT VIA A ROAD TEST. HE TOLD ME THIS WAS NORMAL AND I HAD NO OTHER RECOURSE THAN TO SEEK ARBITRATION. I HAVE CONTACTED CHRYSLER'S CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER (REFERENCE # 11733597) AND HAVE BEEN BRUSHED OFF. THEY SIDED WITH DAVE TOMKO AND SEVERAL E-MAILS LATER, TOLD ME IF I DIDN'T THINK THIS WAS NORMAL TO GO TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP. I HAVE SINCE TAKEN THE CAR TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP (OCT 20TH). THEY AGREED IT WAS NOT NORMAL AND UPPED THE CURB IDLE SPEED (AS THE SHAKING BECAME MORE PROMINENT WHEN THE IDLE SPEED DROPPED). THE PROBLEM HAS RE-SURFACED AND THE CAR WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP ON NOV 6TH. THEY HAVE FAXED THE SENSOR READINGS TO CHRYSLER. I HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING AS OF TODAY, NOV 8TH, AND THE CAR REMAINS DEFECTIVE. HAD FUEL PUMP REPLACED A COUPLE MONTHS AGO. TWO WEEKS LATER THS CAR WAS DRIVING FINE BUT WHEN I GOT HOME AND TURNED OFF THE CAR FOR A COUPLE HOURS IT STARTED RIGHT UP. TRAVELING TO A NORMAL STOP AT AN INTERSECTION TRAFFIC LIGHT, BEING THE FIRST CAR TO THE LIGHT ON FLAT PAVEMENT, THE CAR'S FRONT PASSENGER SIDE LOWER BALL JOINT CAME OUT OF ITS SOCKET AND THE CAR SKIDDED TO A HALT ON THE PAVEMENT RIDING ON THE UNDERCARRIAGE OF THE VEHICLE FRAME WITH THE WHOLE TIRE AND BRAKE ASSEMBLY DANGLING BY THE BRAKE LINE HOSE OUTSIDE THE WHEEL WELL. HOW COULD CHRYSLER BE ALLOWED TO SEND A FAULTY LIFE SAFETY DEVICE SUCH AS A THIS CRITICAL STEERING, SUSPENSION BALL JOINT THAT HUMAN LIFE DEPENDS ON INTO THE PUBLIC FOR SALE? I AM OUTRAGED THAT MY WIFE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED BY CHRYSLER'S SLIPSHOD ENGINEERING AND PRODUCT PLACEMENT. *WHAT HAPPENED? USE AS MUCH SPACE AS YOU NEED. WE OWN THIS 2004 CHRYSLER SEBRING AS WE PURCHASED IT NEW IN THE FALL OF 2004 FROM WESTBORN CHRYSLER IN DEARBORN. IN THE SPRING OF 2005 WE TOOK A TRIP TO FLORIDA, AND AS WE WERE GETTING OFF THE FREEWAY, AT THE FIRST STOP LIGHT, THE CAR WAS JERKING TO THE POINT THAT IF WE DID NOT PUT IT IN PARK IT WOULD HIT THE GAR IN FRONT, THEN IT STOPPED. IT STOPPED SEVERAL TIMES IN THAT TRIP. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER; THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. WE DROVE THE CAR SHORT DISTANCES SINCE, BUT RECENTLY STARTED TO DRIVE ABOUT 20 MILES ONE WAY, WHEN IT STARTED TO HAVE THE SAME SYMPTOMS. WE EXPERIENCE SEVERAL CASES OF SUDDEN STALLING, JERKING AND SUDDEN STOPS WHEN TURNING. IT HAPPENS WHEN HAVE TO STOP AFTER A HIGHWAY DRIVE. IN ONE INSTANCE IT ALMOST HIT OUR HOUSE. WE TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AGAIN AND WERE TOLD THAT THE RIGHT DOWNSTREAM O2 SENSOR, AND THE HARNESS CONNECTOR HAVE TO BE REPLACED AND THE FUEL INJECTOR NEEDS TO BE SERVICED. ALSO THE POWER STEERING PUMP IS NOISY. CHRYSLER WOULD PAY FOR THE PARTS, BUT WE WOULD HAVE TO PICK UP THE LABOR COST OF $1,103, BECAUSE THE CAR HAS 47,000 MILES, IT IS SO FAR SINCE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. THEY CLAIM THIS IS NOT COVERED BY THE 70,000 MILES OR 7 YEARS WARRANTY. IT IS THE ENGINE AND/OR TRANSMISSION THAT ARE MALFUNCTIONING, BUT THEY TRY TO FIND DIFFERENT THINGS TO GIVE ME THE RUN AROUND AND NOT TO COVER THE EXPENSES. AFTER ALL, T REALLY THING THAT THIS WILL NOT FIX THE PROBLEM, THIS IS ONLY THE EFFECT OF A DIFFERENT CAUSE, THAT IS NOT EVEN FOUND. 2. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD AN AIR BAG LIGHT ON SINCE I BOUGHT IT AND NO DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN ABLE TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM THERE HAS BEEN NUMEROUS ISSUES WITH THE CAR THROUGHOUT THE THREE YEARS I HAVE OWNED IT. IT HAD ALREADY BEEN REPLACED ONCE BEFORE UNDER WARRANTY. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CAR WAS 3 MONTHS OUT OF WARRANTY THAT IT WOULD BE MY RESPONSIBILITY TO REPLACE IT. WHEN I BALKED, THE DEALER "GAVE" ME THE PART AND CHARGED ME FOR THE LABOR. I FOLLOWED UP WITH CHRYSLER INDICATING THAT I FELT THIS WAS A RECURRING SAFETY RELATED DEFECT AND AS SUCH, THEY SHOULD FIX IT FOR FREE. I WAS TOLD THAT THE FREE PART WAS ALL THE "GOODWILL" GESTURE THAT I WOULD RECEIVE. MY VEHICLE IN MAY 2006 STARTING SHOWING SIGNS OF IGNITION FAILURE. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINS ON WHILE I AM DRIVING THE VEHICLE. WHEN I ATTEMPT TO TURN OFF VEHICLE OFF,IT REMAINS ON FOR AT LEAST 15 MINUTES OR LONGER UNTIL I CAN GET IT TO TURN OFF W/O THE KEY IN THE IGNITION. THIS MEANS MY CAR IS DRIVABLE W/O A KEY IN THE IGNITION. THIS CAR STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS AT 29,000 MILES. THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE GETS EXTREMELY HOT. ACCORDING TO THE RECALL REPORTS WHICH STATES THAT A BREAK IN MOLDING IN THE FUEL PUMP CAN LEAD TO IGNITION FAILURE WHICH IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND CAN CAUSE A FIRE. MY CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 3X IN LESS THAN 5 MONTHS. ANCIRA JEEP CHRYSLER HAS FAILED TO FIX THIS PROBLEM AND HAS CONTINUED TO CHARGE ME FOR A FUEL PUMP, CAM SENSOR, AND IGNITION. I PICKED UP MY CAR FROM THE DEALERSHIP JUST A FEW DAYS AGO AND NOT EVEN 10 MIN LATER WHEN I GOT HOME THE PROBLEM WAS STILL OCCURING BUT WORSE. MY CAR IS IN THE SHOP AS WE SPEAK AND I HAVE YET TO HEAR FEEDBACK UNLESS I CALL; EVEN THEN, THEY CAN'T GIVE ME AN ANSWER. AFTER DRIVING CAR AND LEAVING IT PARKED FOR 2 DAYS; WHEN GOING TO START IT AGAIN, THE HORN DIDN'T WORK PROPERLY (REALLY WEAK!), AND IT WOULDN'T START UNTIL SEVERAL ATTEMPTS AND GIVING IT GAS. ALSO......THE REAR RIGHT SIDE WINDOW DEFROST (WIRE HARNESS THAT IS SOLDERED TO WINDOW) POPPED OFF THE WINDOW WITHOUT REASON. WHEN REPAIRED AT DEALERSHIP, THE GUY SAID IT WAS THE 3RD ONE HE HAD FIXED RECENTLY AND IT WAS ALWAYS ON THE SAME SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THIS COULD CAUSE WINDOW TO FOG UP. ALSO APPROXIMATELY JAN OF 2005 I WENT IN TO A DEALERSHIP BECAUSE A STRANGE NOISE WAS COMING FROM MY REAR LEFT SUSPENSION/WHEEL. IT MADE SQUEALING/GRINDING NOISE WHEN TURNING OR OVER BUMPS. DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THERE WAS A BURNING SMELL COMING FROM THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE NEXT DAY THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND FILED A REPORT. UPON INSPECTION THE INSURANCE COMPANY DETERMINED THE ELECTRICAL WIRING IN THE REAR DEFROSTER CAUSED THE FIRE. PREVIOUSLY, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN FOR REPAIR BECAUSE THE REAR DEFROSTER, TURN SIGNALS AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS HAD FAILED.

I AM POA FOR JAMES HAMPTON OWNER OF THE VEHICLE, 2004 CHRYSLER SEBRING CONVERTIBLE WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION , JAMES HAMPTON SUFFERED SERIOUS INJURY , THE CONVERTIBLE TOP WAS DOWN AT TIME OF ACCIDENT. OBSERVING HIM PRIOR TO THE ACCIDENT IN THE VEHICLE I MADE THE OBSERVATION THAT HE DIDN'T APPEAR TO FIT THIS CAR WELL, HE IS SIX FOOT THREE INCHES TALL, TOP OF WINDSHIELD IS ABOUT MID FOREHEAD IN HEIGHT ON HIM, AT TIME OF INCIDENT AIR BAG DID DEPLOY, STILL SEVERE HEAD INJURY TO FOREHEAD ON LEFT SIDE, OBSERVATION OF INJURY AND LOCATION LEADS ME TO QUESTION THAT HAD HE BEEN UNDER SIX FOOT IN HEIGHT AIR BAG WOULD HAVE AFFORDED MORE PROTECTION FROM IMPACT OF WINDSHIELD, OR IF HEIGHT OF WINDSHIELD WAS HIGHER IMPACT MIGHT HAVE BEEN DIFFERENT, CAR WAS DETERMINED A LOSS. DT CONSUMER STATES THE SEAT BELT BUCKLE WILL BREAK WHILE SNAPPING INTO THE LATCH. CONSUMER STATES THE DEALER S FIXED THE SEAT BELT BUCKLES TWICE. ALSO WHEN PUTTING ON THE BRAKES THE BACK SEAT IS ALL ONE PIECE AND IT WILL GO FORWARD AND WILL RISE UP GOING TOWARD THE FRONT SEATS. 2004 CHRYSLER SEBRING HAS A RECURRING AIR BAG PROBLEM.*MR THE AIR BAG LIGHT WARNING LIGHT WOULD COME ON AND GO OFF NUMEROUS TIMES WHILE DRIVING. A SEAT BELT PRE-TENSIONER WAS REQUIRED, BUT THAT DID NOT RESOLVE THE AIR BAG LIGHT PROBLEM. THE A/C WOULD ONLY BLOW ON THE HIGHEST SETTING. THE LEFT FRONT WINDOW MADE A CREAKING NOISE WHEN GOING UP OR DOWN. THE THERMOSTAT AND GASKET WERE REPLACED DUE TO A COOLANT LEAK. THE DRIVER SIDE MIRROR WAS LOOSE. *JB

VEHICLE - 2004 CHRYSLER SEBRING CONVERTIBLE, LIMITED DELIVERED NEW - NOVEMBER 2003 PURCHASED USED - MARCH 2004, 600 MILES ON VEHICLE, ORIGINAL OWNER DECEASED, PURCHASED FROM ESTATE THE VEHICLE HAS A VIBRATION PROBLEM BETWEEN APPROXIMATELY 45 - 60 MPH. IT HAS BEEN SERVICED BY A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP FIVE (5) TIMES AND BY A GOODYEAR COMPANY OWNED DISTRIBUTOR THREE (3) TIMES. THE TIRES HAVE BEEN FORCE BALANCED SEVERAL TIMES AND THEN REPLACED WITH NEW GOODYEAR ASSURANCE COMFORTREAD TIRES. THESE TIRES HAVE BEEN FORCE BALANCED SEVERAL TIMES BY BOTH CHRYSLER AND GOODYEAR WITH NO ACCEPTABLE LEVEL OF POSITIVE IMPACT TOWARDS RESOLUTION. THE VIBRATION CONTINUES TO DATE. I HAVE JUST BOUGHT A CHRYSLER SEBRING 2004, AND EXPERIENCED SOME PROBLEMS. I HAVE NOT BEEN TO TEH DEALER YET FOR THEM, JUST WANTED TO CONFORM THE PROBLEM FIRST. I DID A SEARCH ONLINE AND SAW THIS WEBSITE AN DTHE I AGREED WITH ALL THE COMPLAINTS ALREADY ON HERE. 1). THE CAR IDLES BADLY, AND WHEN SLOWING DOWN AT A LIGHT OR WHILE U HAVE YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE, THE VEHICLE WILL JUMP FORWARD SUDDENLY! I ALMOST HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE SO FAR. I HAVE 128 MILES ON MY CAR. AFTER READING SAME COMPLAINTS ON THIS WEBSITE, I AM AFFRAID THAT THE DEALER WILL NOT BE ABLE TO FIX THIS, WHICH IS PATHETIC THAT A 30000 DOLLAR CAR WOULD HAVE SOMETHING LIKE THIS THAT IS SO ANNOYING. 2.
