TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER SEBRING. WITHOUT WARNING, THE HORN CONTINUED TO SOUND AND THE NOISE CONTINUED RANDOMLY FOR WEEKS. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,000.

ABOUT 4:30 PM (RUSH HOUR) ON 20 OCTOBER 2015 I WAS DRIVING SOUTH ON I-95 SOUTH OF WASHINGTON DC WHEN THE HORN SOUNDED CONTINUOUSLY AND UNEXPECTEDLY, SURPRISING ME AND DRIVERS NEAR ME. I WAS GOING STRAIGHT AT ABOUT 60 MPH. IT STOPPED AFTER I FIRMLY DEPRESSED THE HORN PAD TWICE. AFTER I ARRIVED AT HOME THE HORN SOUNDED AGAIN FOR ABOUT 1 MINUTE. THE CAR WAS PARKED WITH THE WHEEL SLIGHTLY TO THE LEFT. I DISCONNECTED THE HORN AND BEGAN RESEARCHING ON LINE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER SEBRING SEDAN. WHILE DRIVING 11 MPH, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

WITH SOOOO MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE HORN ISSUE LOCATED IN THE SAME SPOT AS THE AIRBAG NO ONE HAS PUT THE PIECES TOGETHER ABOUT HOWS THIS MAY BE CAUSED BY THE AIRBAG ISSUE. BACK IN JANUARY, MY HORN IN MY 2006 SEBRING STARTED BLOWING BETWEEN 9 & 11 PM FOR SOME UNKNOWN REASON. IT LASTED FOR ABOUT 40 SECONDS. I DID THINK MUCH OF IT AT THE TIME, BUT IT STARTED HAPPENING NIGHTLY. PRACTICALLY EVERY NIGHT THE HORNS WILL BLOW FOR ABOUT 40 TO 60 SECONDS. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN WHENEVER THERE IS A TEMPERATURE DROP OUTSIDE. BUT NOW IT WILL GOING OFF SOMETIMES WHEN I START THE CAR AND SOMETIME WHILE I AM DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. I HAVE TO HIT THE HORN TO STOP IT WHILE DRIVING TO GET IT TO STOP. OTHER DRIVERS AND PEDESTRIANS SEEM TO PANIC WHEN IT GOES OFF BECAUSE IT IS SCARES THE HELL OF YOU WHEN IT GOES OFF AND THERE DOESN'T SEEM TO BE ANY DANGER IN THE AREA. MY NEIGHBORS ARE GETTING A LITTLE ANNOYED WITH HORN GOING OFF AT NIGHT. IT EVEN WHEN OFF AT WORK WHILE PARKED IN THE PARKING LOT DURING THE DAY. 2006 CHRYSLER SEBRING,HORN RANDOMLY GOES OFF EITHER WHILE VEHICLE ENGINE IS ON OR OFF....I TOOK OUT THE HORN FUSE AND NOW HAVE BEEN DRIVING UNSAFELY WITHOUT HORN AND APPARENTLY AIRBAGS. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN A FEW ACCIDENTS AND THE AIR BAGS NEVER WENT OFF.THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED, THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE WITH THIS PROBLEM, AND NOT ONLY ARE WE DRIVING AROUND WITHOUT A HORN, BUT ALSO NO AIRBAGS. My passenger airbag spontaneously deployed without an impact when it was parked. This shattered the windshield and expelled plastic dashboard pieces and glass everywhere. My daughter and I had just exited the car so there were no injuries. Had we not stopped this may have deployed on the road or if my passenger had waited in the car caused serious injuries. I contacted Chrystler to report this safety issue and they said this is no longer their responsibility due to my cars age and environmental factors. This happened 7/9/25 and the damages and airbag system is available to inspect. I have witnesses to seeing the deployment without impact and awaiting video footage from the business. No warning lights on the dashboard occurred. This is a very well maintained vehicle with very low miles.

At the time of collision the airbags did not deploy correctly. The airbag seems to have burst at the seams and projectlies of debris and chemicals came from the air bag instead. I hit my head on the windshield and hit my chest on steering wheel. I was burned on my arms, hands and ribs/chest. I have pulmonary and neurological injury. as well as changes to my sight and hearing. My car filled with thick "smoke" that was hot and made us choke and gasp for air. We breathed in these chemicals. My two disabled children were also injured by the chemicals.

The contact owned a 2006 Chrysler Sebring. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact vehicle was involved in a crash. The contact rear-ended the vehicle that was in front of the contact vehicle. The contact's vehicle was damaged to the front driver's side of the vehicle. In addition, the air bags were deployed. The contact stated that the vehicle had a burning odor and lots of smoke. The Police and paramedics were at the crash scene. A Police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a local tow yard. The vehicle was condemned to total loss by the insurance company. The contact's two minor children were occupants in the vehicle at the time of the crash. The contact was transported to the local hospital. The contact sustained burns to both left and right forearms, her right thumb, nerve damage to her left forearm, and bruised ribs. In addition, the chemical from the air bags entered the contact's nose and the contact had a continuous cough. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000.

WELL IT FIRST HAPPENED AT NIGHT MY WIFE THOUGHT SOMEONE WAS BREAKING INTO THE CAR I NEVER CAUGHT WHAT WAS GOING ON UNTIL THE FOURTH TIME I FINALLY HERD IT IT WAS MY HORN GOING OFF FOR 60 SECONDS OR MORE AND I COULD NOT GET IT STOP IT WOULD GO OFF AT NIGHT AROUND 12 OR 2 OR 3,4 IN MORNING THEN IT EVENTUALLY IT GOT WORSE STARTED GOING OFF AT ALL TIMES THEN THE HORN WAS NOT USABLE BUT WOULD STILL GO OFF WHEN IT CHOSE TO. THEN IT STARTED TO GO OFF WHEN I WAS DRIVING. I STOPPED DRIVING THE CAR AND HAVE SINCE UNHOOKED THE BATTERY. 2006 CHRYSLER SEBRING. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO OIL LEAK IN VEHICLE ENGINE AREA. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE WATER PUMP AND TIMING BELT WERE REPLACED ON JANUARY 27, 2015 AFTER WHICH, AN OIL LEAK DEVELOPED. AFTER TWO CRANKSHAFT OIL SEAL REPLACEMENTS THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE PROBLEM APPEARED SERIOUS ENOUGH TO CONTACT CHRYSLER ABOUT A FURTHER DIAGNOSIS. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO IDENTIFY A PROBLEM WHICH RESULTED IN A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN IDENTIFYING THE PROBLEM AS CRANKSHAFT END PLAY RESULTING IN OIL SEAL PERFORMANCE AND LEAKAGE. ON JULY 21ST I WAS HEADING HOME FROM WORK AND THE NOISE JUST OCCURRED AS SOON AS I WAS TURNING ONTO THE RAMP TO GET TO THE HIGHWAY. I INSTANTLY TOOK MY CAR TO FIRESTONE WHERE I ALWAYS TAKE MY CAR AND THEY DID A FULL INSPECTION AND REALIZED THAT MY BUSHING TO MY MOTOR MOUNT WENT OUT, MY MOTOR MOUNT WAS SHOT AND MY MOTOR MOUNT BRACKET WAS SHOT. THIS ISSUE IS VERY UNSAFE AND I CONTACTED BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, CHRYSLER CORPORATION, CHRYSLER CEO AND CHAIRMAN, GOVERNOR RICK SNYDER, CONGRESSMAN BILL HUIZENGA, AND ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL. THIS HAS BEEN A LONG TIME WITHOUT A CAR AND NO NORMAL HUMAN BEING CAN AFFORD SPENDING 600 DOLLARS A MONTH FOR A RENTAL CAR WHEN IT IS NOT THE CONSUMERS PROBLEM THAT CHRYSLER DOESN'T MAKE A PART. THEIR NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THIS CAR. A MOTOR MOUNT SHOULD NEVER GO OUT ON A CAR. THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO BE FOUND IN A JUNK YARD AFTER A CAR HAS LASTED ITS AVERAGE LIFE TIME. I HAVE A 2006 SEBRING WITH A 2.4L ENGINE THAT HAS HAD THE SEALS REPLACED TWICE AND IT STILL KEPT POURING OIL. MY ORIGINAL MECHANIC SAID THERE WAS NOTHING MORE HE COULD DO AND THE ENGINE SHOULD BE REPLACED. I WAS REFERRED TO ANTHER MECHANIC BY A FRIEND WHO DID A LOT MORE WORK IN TRYING TO FND OUT WHY THEY COULD NOT FIX THE OIL LEAK. HE FOUND OUT THAT THE 2005 AND 2006 ENGINES WERE MISSING A THRUST BEARING AND SO IT KEPT PUSHING THE CRANKSHAFT AGAINST THE TIMING BELT WHICH PUSHED OUT THE FRONT SEAL. CHRYSLER FIXED THE DESIGN BY ADDING A SECOND THRUST BEARING WITH A NEW REVISION TO THE ENGINE. AFTER 8 WEEKS AND $5500 OF REPAIR AND RENTAL BUILDS, I HAVE A NEW HALF BLOCK AND IT SEEMS TO BE FXED. I THINK CHRYSLER SHOULD HAVE PUT OUT A RECALL ON THESE MOTORS SINCE THERE WAS A DESIGN FLAW FIXED IN THE NEW VERSION OF THE 2.4L ENGINE AND SHORT BLOCK. IT IS NOT SAFE TO BE DRIVING A CAR LEAKING OIL NOR FAIR FOR CONSUMERS TO EAT THE COST OF THE REPAIR WHEN IT WAS AN ENGINE DESIGN ERROR. I AM PAYING CAR PAYMENTS ON TOP OF HAVING TO PAY FOR A CHRYSLER DESIGN FLAW. THANKS FOR ANY INFO YOU CAN GIVE. *TR

I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY 2006 CHYRSLER SEBRING. IT STARTED IN 2008 OR 2009 WHEN CAR RAN HOT ON THE INTERSTATE. I ADDED COOLANT BUT IT SEEMS TO EVAPORATE OR LEAK. I WENT INTO LANDERS DODGE FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND UPON INSPECTING THE VEHICLE THEY FOUND A LEAKAGE FROM WHAT THEY SAY IS CALLED A COOLANT INLET TUBE WHICH WILL COST ME OVER $400 TO REPAIR. I FEEL THAT WITH MY CAR BEING ONLY 2 OR 3 YEARS OLD AT THE TIME SHOULD NOT BE TAKING PLACE. I HAVE ALSO FOUND OTHERS THAT HAVE THE SAME VEHICLE TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM OR HAVING TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION IN 2006 CHRYSLER SEBRINGS. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW THE SITUATION CAN BE LOOKED INTO.

Front ball joint came off and caused car to come to crash into road. It is now in a repair shop where I had it towed as it was causing problems sitting on road. If I had been going faster I m not sure how serious a problem to me or others on road it would cause. Possible death. It is being inspected by Advanced Automotive, 503-364-2046. The car has less than 50,000 miles on it and I don't understand how a front end (ball Joint) can go wrong that quickly. The only warning I had was a squeaking in the front end. Is this something normal? The mechanic said that there was a RECALL on this problem. Since I bought it used from a Chrysler dealer you would think they would clue me to the problems. HA HA.

WHILE DRIVING I WAS HEARING NOISE UNDER CAR. THEN FRONT DRIVERS WHEEL CAME OFF DAMAGING CAR ABOVE THE TIRE WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE STREET AT ABOUT 35 MILES. CAR WAS TOWED IN TO FIRESTONE WHERE THEY HAD TO REPLACE BALL JOINT AND ARM. AMONG THE MAINTENANCE AFTER THAT I WAS THEN TOLD ON PASSENGERS SIDE THE LOWER CONTROL ARM BALL JOINT WAS ABOUT TO FALL OFF.

BALL JOINT AND BALL STUD, SEPARATED AND BROKEN, CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL OF VEHICLE. THIS OCCURED ON THE PASSENGER FRONT SIDE. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. BACK SIDE ALSO HAS BECOME EXTREMELY LOOSE AND GRINDING, ADVISED IT ALSO WILL SEPARATE AND BREAK, CAUSING AN ACCIDENT AND LOSS OF CONTROL OF VEHICLE. IT HAPPENED AT THE SAME TIME THE PASSENGER FRONT SIDE BROKE DOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT AND HAS NOT BEEN IN A PASSENGER SIDE ACCIDENT.

MY CONTROL ARM AND LOWER BALL JOINT SEPARATED WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I WAS LEFT BLOCKING A BUSY INTERSECTION BECAUSE I LITERALLY COULD NOT MOVE MY CAR BECAUSE THE TIRE HAD ALSO SEPARATED FROM THE AXLE. I HAD TO REPLACE THE RIGHT AXLE, RIGHT LOWER CONTROL ARM, LEFT LOWER BALL JOINT, AND REPLACE THE OUTER TIE ROD END. THIS COST ME OVER $1,000. I RECENTLY CAME ACROSS THAT A RECALL WAS ISSUED FOR THESE VERY THINGS THAT HAPPENED TO ME, HOWEVER, I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED. I WOULD LIKE TO BE REIMBURSED FOR THIS EXPENSE. *TR

THE HORN GOES OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE FIRST TIME IS HAPPENED WAS A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO WHILE DRIVING DOWN A CITY STREET AT 6:10AM (TAKING MY CHILD TO SCHOOL). THE HORN WENT OFF A VARIOUS TIMES (WHILE DRIVING DOWN MAJOR CITY STREETS) FOR A FEW DAYS. ON SATURDAY 1/2/16 I STARTED (IN MY DRIVEWAY) THE CAR AND THE HORN WENT OFF. I PUSHED THE STEERING WHEEL THE HORN STAYED ON, NEXT I PUSHED THE PANIC BUTTON, IT STAYED ON UNTIL I PUSHED THE PANIC BUTTON A SECOND TIME ABOUT 2 MINUTES LATER. THEN ON THE SAME DAY WHILE DRIVING ON A (MAIN CITY STREET) THE HORN WENT OFF FOUR TIMES WITHIN FIVE MINUTES. HOWEVER, EACH TIME IT THE HORN TURNED OFF WHEN I PUSHED THE STEERING WHEEL. THIS MORNING 1/4/16 THE HORN WENT OFF SEVERAL TIMES BACK TO BACK FOR ABOUT A MINUTE, ONLY TURNING OFF WHEN I PUSHED THE STEERING WHEEL. DID A GOOGLE SEARCH AND FOUND 57 COMPLAINTS (COMPLAINT.COM) ABOUT THE SAME HORN PROBLEM. SUGGESTED I ADD MY VOICE TO WHAT IS CLEARLY A PROBLEM.

I AM WRITING TO THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION TO FILE A COMPLAINT AGAINST THE FIAT-CHRYSLER COMPANY. SINCE THE BEGINNING OF FEBRUARY 2015, MY HORN HAS BEEN GOING OFF WHEN MY IS PARKED AT NIGHT TIME, AND THEREFORE MANY COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN REPORTED BY MY NEIGHBORS, WHEN MY HORN AUTOMATICALLY GOES ON DURING THE HOURS OF THE NIGHT, IT IS VERY UPSETTING HAVING TO EXPLAIN MY SITUATION TO THE NEIGHBORS. A TECHNICIAN AT ONE OF THE FIAT-CHRYSLER REPAIR CENTERS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AND STATED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS THE DUE TO A BAD SWITCH THAT CONTROLS THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG AND HORN, AND THAT WOULD COST OVER $1,000 TO REPAIR. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT I WOULD HAVE TO REPAIR IT BECAUSE IT WASN'T RECALL ISSUE. BECAUSE OF THE FACT THAT I AM ON PERMANENT DISABILITY AND ON A VERY LOW INCOME, I AM UNABLE TO AFFORD TO REPAIR IT. AFTER REALIZING THAT THERE IS NO LIGHT IN SIGHT, I BEGAN TO RESEARCH AS TO HOW MANY OTHER CONSUMERS/OR CHRYSLER SEBRING OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM AS I AM PRESENTLY EXPERIENCING. This is part of complaint 11630942. The incident on Nov 25, 2024. These are two separate complaints which occurred in the same crash that resulted in serious injuries. In the event of the crash the seatbelt failed to restrain me. Allowing my head to collide into the windshield and my chest to forcefully hit the steering wheel. I have serious injuries to many body parts as result of this incident. The vehicle is available for inspection and I have photos and medical reports available upon request.

IN THE BEGINNING, THE HORN WOULD SOUND RANDOMLY WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED AND UNOCCUPIED. IT WOULD CONTINUE TO SOUND UNTIL WE ADJUSTED THE STEERING WHEEL OR PUSHED ON THE HORN. HOWEVER, NOW THE HORN SOUNDS RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING. IT DOESN'T STOP UNTIL I AM ABLE TO PULL OVER AND REMOVE THE FUSE. THIS CREATES AN UNSAFE SITUATION WITH OTHER DRIVERS. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT IT WAS SOME SORT OF ELECTRICAL FAILURE IN THE HORN AND AIRBAG WITHIN THE STEERING WHEEL. WE REPLACED THE FUSE THAT CONTROLS THIS MECHANISM, BUT IT DIDN'T WORK. THE HORN AND AIRBAG ARE AN INTEGRAL PIECE, SO IN ORDER TO REPLACE THE HORN, WE HAVE TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG. THIS WOULD COST MORE THAN $800. OUR EASIEST SOLUTION WAS TO REMOVE THE FUSE THAT CONTROLS THE HORN/ AIRBAG. THIS MEANS THAT I'M DRIVING IT WITHOUT AN AIRBAG OR HORN. THIS IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE FOR OTHER MOTORISTS AND MYSELF. The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler Sebring. The contact stated the accelerator pedal and the brake pedal were significantly close to each other causing him to depress both pedals at the same time. The contact stated while driving at 3 MPH and attempting to make a stop, his foot inadvertently depressed both the accelerator pedal and the brake pedal, causing the vehicle to crash into another vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. There were no injuries sustained. A police report was filed. The contact stated the failure reoccurred while he was at a drive-through. He attempted to depress the brake pedal but depressed both the accelerator pedal and the brake pedal at the same time, causing the vehicle to lightly crashed into another vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries sustained. A police report was not filed. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 145,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2006 CHRYSLER SEBRING SEDAN. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE BRAKES FAILED TO RESPOND. THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED INDEPENDENTLY AND THE STEERING WHEEL FAILED TO TURN LEFT OR RIGHT. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT COULD NOT STOP THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO THE PRECEDING VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND LATER IMPOUNDED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A NECK INJURY, INTERNAL STOMACH INJURY, AND A MIGRAINE HEADACHE DUE TO HITTING THE HEAD ON THE STEERING WHEEL. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO OPEN RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 177,000.

I AM JOINING THE MANY OTHER OWNERS WHO'S HORNS GO OFF, WITH OUT WARNING CAR OFF OR CAR ON. AT THE SAME TIME THE HORN NOW SEEMS TO HAVE STOPPED WORKING ENTIRELY LEAVING ME NO WAY TO WARN OTHER DRIVERS THAT DO NOT SEE ME. I CAN CONFIRM THE COSTIVE A REPAIR IS ON THE $1100 RANGE AND MY LOCAL CHRYSLER REPORTS THEY DO THIS REPAIR 4 TIMES PER WEEK, NATIONWIDE. THIS REPAIR IS OUT OF MY BUDGET AND I THINK CHRYSLER NEEDS TO RECALL AND REPAIR THESE VEHICLES. THE HORN HAS GONE OFF IN STATIONARY, MOTION, ON A CITY STREET AND HIGHWAY AND TURNING. EVEN WITH THE ENGINE SHUT OFF IN THE WEE HOURS OF THE MORNING. BELOW YOU ASK WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN? AT LEAST 20 TIMES. THE HORN SWITCH INDEED INCLUDES THE AIR BAGS. IN MARCH OR SO OF 2011, WHILE DRIVING, ALL OF A SUDDEN MY HORN JUST GOES OFF FOR NO REASON WHATSOVER AND WOULD NOT STOP. I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT ITS A FACTORY PROBLEM WITH THE CLOCKSPRING. THIS PART HOWEVER IS ATTACHED TO THE AIR BAG ASSEMBLY & TO REPLACE IT, THE ENTIRE AIR BAG ASSEMBLY MUST BE ALSO REPLACED WHICH IS OVER $600 JUST FOR THE PART & ANOTHER $1000 FOR LABOR. MY ONLY OPTION WAS TO COMPLETELY DISCONNECT THE AIR BAG ASSEMBLY AS ITS THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THE HORN. SO NOW I HAVE TO DRIVE THE CAR WITHOUT THE AIR BAG SYSTEM. THIS IS A DIRECT SAFETY DEFECT!! BOUGHT THE 2006 SEBRING WITH 32,000 MILES ON IT, JUST BEFORE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. IT NOW HAS 62,000 MILES ON IT, AND IT LEAKING OIL PROFUSELY. I HAD MY MECHANICALLY INCLINED FATHER LOOK AT IT, AND IT APPEARS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH THE CRANKSHAFT. AS I HAVE BEEN LOOKING ONLINE, THIS APPEARS TO BE A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES, AND WORSE YET, IF IT STARTS TO BECOME A PROBLEM BEFORE THE WARRANTY IS UP, DEALERS ARE SIMPLY REPLACING THE SEAL, ESSENTIALLY PUTTING A BAND-AID ON THE BIGGER ISSUE AND LEAVING THE EXPENSE UP TO THE CONSUMER TO DEAL WITH. AT THIS TIME I THINK I CAUGHT IT BEFORE IT GOT THE CHANCE TO LOCK MY ENGINE UP, I JUST THANK MY LUCKY STARS THAT I HAD TO DROP MY SON OFF TO SCHOOL ON A COLD DAY AND HAD LEFT THE ENGINE TO IDLE WHILE I WALKED HIM TO THE DOOR, AS THE ENGINE ONLY LEAKS WHILE RUNNING. LOW POWER WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE. I WAS TOLD MY CAR WAS GETTING TOO MUCH FUEL. THERE HAS BEEN A FILM ON THE WINDSHIELD EVER SINCE I BOUGHT THIS CAR. I HAVE TRIED TO CLEAN IT WITH SEVERAL THINGS ADVISED AND EVEN TOOK IT TO A PLACE THAT CLEANS VEHICLES IN OUR AREA, BUT NO MATTER WHAT, THE FILM IS STILL THERE. I HAVE BOUGHT AT LEAST 3 NEW, DIFFERENT TYPES OF WINDSHIELD WIPERS. THERE IS A SPOT HERE AND THERE ON THE WINDSHIELD WHERE YOU WILL HAVE CLEAR VISION BUT IT IS NOT WHERE IT IS NEEDED. I BOUGHT MY SEBRING SEDAN IN MAY OF 2006 WITH 5 MILES ON IT. FOR STARTERS, I IMMEDIATELY HAD ISSUES WITH THE RADIO CUTTING OUT. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP ASAP, AND THEY CLAIMED TO HAVE FIXED IT, BUT DIDN'T. MY SECOND PROBLEM WAS MY HORN. IT ALL OF A SUDDEN STARTED SOUNDING MUFFLED, IF IT SOUNDED AT ALL. I CALLED ABOUT THAT PROBLEM AND THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT IN. WHICH I WOULD HAVE, BUT OVER THAT WEEKEND OUT OF NOWHERE, MY CAR STALLED OUT ON ME WITHOUT ANY KIND OF WARNING LIGHTS OR GAUGES. I CALLED A LOCAL TOWING COMPANY TO PICK IT UP, AND THEY IMMEDIATELY TOLD ME THAT THEY COULD SEE RIGHT OFF THE BAT THAT I HAD A LARGE HOLE IN MY OIL PAN, AND ALL OF THE OIL HAD PROBABLY LEAKED OUT. SO I TOLD THEM JUST TO GO AHEAD AND REPLACE IT AND WE WOULD GO FROM THERE, THINKING THAT WOULD BE THE END OF IT. UNFORTUNATELY, I WAS WRONG. AFTER THEY REPLACED THE OIL PAN, THEY SOON REALIZED THAT MY ENGINE HAD SEIZED. SO ASSUMING THE DEALERSHIP WOULD BE THE ONES TO INSTALL THE NEW ENGINE, I HAD THE CAR TOWED BACK TO MY HOUSE UNTIL I CONFIRMED THINGS WITH THE DEALERSHIP. I ALSO FIGURED THAT BECAUSE THE CAR WAS BARELY A YEAR OLD, IT SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER MY WARRANTY. I WAS WRONG AGAIN. SO, LONG STORY A LITTLE SHORTER, THE DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO PAY FOR ANY OF THE NEW ENGINE, NOR DID THEY EVEN GIVE ME A GOOD PRICE ON ONE. THEIR CHEAPEST ONE WAS PRETTY MUCH THE PRICE OF ANOTHER MECHANICS MOST EXPENSIVE. SO, BECAUSE I HAD THE ENGINE REPLACED SOMEWHERE ELSE, MY WARRANTY FOR ALMOST EVERYTHING ELSE WAS VOID. SINCE THEN, I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS OUT OF IT, AND ITS GOING TO BREAK DOWN FOR GOOD SOON BECAUSE I CANNOT AFFORD TO KEEP UP WITH THE PROBLEMS. THIS IS A 2006 SEBRING TOURING, BOUGHT WITH AROUND 33,00 MILES. THE FIRST NIGHT I TRIED THIS CAR, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WITH THEM SAYING THEY WOULD FIX IT. IT DIDN'T COME BACK ON FOR MONTHS...AFTER THE WARRANTY WAS UP. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR ALMOST A YEAR AND IT HAD A 30 DAY WARRANTY. I TOOK IT BACK AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK FOR THE WARRANTY WITH THEM SAYING THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG. THE BRAKES MAKE RUBBING NOISES, EVEN THOUGH I WAS TOLD THEY PUT ON NEW BRAKE SHOES AND IT WOBBLES, EVEN THOUGH THEY SAID THEY CALIBRATED THE ROTORS AND FIXED THEM. IT JUMPS WHEN YOU STOP AND ON TAKE OFF IT JUST TOOK IT TO ANOTHER SHOP IN ANOTHER TOWN AND WAS TOLD THEY COULDN'T FIND ANY WRONG OTHER THAN IT NEEDED AN UPDATE AND THAT THIS SHOULD TAKE CARE OF 99% OF MY PROBLEMS IF NOT ALL. AFTER PAYING OUT 178.45, IT DO NOT TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEM. THE ALSO TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED A NEW FUEL PUMP AND THAT ONE OF THE PROBLEMS WAS IT WAS PUMPING TOO MUCH FUEL AND THAT THIS WOULD EVENTUALLY DO DAMAGE TO OTHER PARTS OF THE ENGINE AND I WOULD BE LOOKING AT MORE THAN JUST THE FUEL PUMP TO REPLACE BUT THEY DIDN'T THINK THE CAR WOULD JUST QUIT ON ME RIGHT NOW, BUT I WAS LOOKING AT PROBLEMS ON DOWN THE ROAD. IN JULY I HAD ABOUT AN INCH PLUS WATER IN MY PASSENGER REAR FLOOR BOARD, AFTER SUCKING THE WATER UP SEVERAL TIMES, THEY FINALLY SAID I NEEDED A NEW TYPE OF DRAIN LINE ON THE AIR CONDITIONER, BUT COME TO FIND OUT, IT HAD THE NEW LINE. I DID GET THE LINE BLOWN OUT BECAUSE THEY SAID THAT THE AIR CONDITIONER LINE GETTING CLOGGED IS A PROBLEM. THE WATER HAS NOT COME BACK, YET. THE AIR CONDITIONER MAKES LIKE A HUM-HUM NOISE, THEN IT WILL QUIT AND THE CAR SOUNDS QUIET FOR A FEW MIN, AND THEN IT STARTS AGAIN. THIS IS DEFINITELY A CAR I AM DISSATISFIED WITH. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT SHE NEEDED NEW TIRES. THE CONTACT ALSO HEARD A SQUEAKING NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR BRAKES. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS ON THE REAR BRAKES, BUT THE SQUEAKING NOISE RETURNED THE FOLLOWING DAY. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE BRAKES WERE SUPPOSED TO MAKE THE NOISE BECAUSE IT WAS A NEW VEHICLE. THE TIRE FAILURE RECURRED; THEREFORE, NEW TIRES WERE INSTALLED. THE CONTACT HEARD A GRINDING SOUND THE ENTIRE TIME SHE DROVE THE VEHICLE. THE BRAKES WERE REPLACED THREE TIMES AND THE TIRES WERE REPLACED TWICE. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE HORN HAS NOT BEEN WORKING EVER SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. THE DEALER STATED THAT A SENSOR LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED DUE TO A DEFECT WITH THE AIR BAG; THEREFORE, THEY REPLACED THE AIR BAG. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER FOUR TIMES FOR THIS FAILURE. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE HORN SUDDENLY SOUNDED AND THE CONTACT COULD NOT MAKE IT STOP. SHE HAS ALSO EXPERIENCED SQUEALING, SQUEAKING, AND CLUNKING NOISES WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE DEALER REPLACED ALL FOUR ROTORS AND PADS, BUT THE BRAKE FAILURE HAS RECURRED. THE VEHICLE MAY ALSO BE LEAKING BRAKE FLUID. NOW THAT THE VEHICLE HAS REACHED THE 3 MONTH OR 3,000 MILE LIMITED WARRANTY END DATE, THE DEALER WILL NO LONGER PROVIDE REPAIR SERVICES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 66,700.

I JUST BOUGHT A 2006 SEBRING CONVERTIBLE TOURING EDITION, I HAD DRIVEN TO WORK 23 FREEWAY MILES. I NOTICED THERE WAS A LOT OF WIND NOISE WITH THE TOP UP. I CHECKED TO MAKE SURE IT WAS LATCHED PROPERLY. ON THE WAY HOME I HAD THE SAME WIND NOISE(IT WAS A WINDY DAY) AFTER 20 MILES ON THE FREEWAY AT 65 MPH IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, THE TOP GAVE WAY & BLEW BACK. YOU CAN SEE WHERE THE LATCH SCRAPED. I ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. I THINK THEIR IS A SEAL DEFECT. THE DEALER CLAIMS I WAS AT FAULT,AND IT WAS NOT LATCHED PROPERLY. THE CAR HAD BEEN PURCHASED 4/27/06. *JB
