TL* THE CONTACT'S WIFE OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROADWAY AND WAITED FOR APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES BEFORE THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT LINKED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 08V152000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 174,000.

THE BATTERY IS IN THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT WHEEL WELL AND THE TIRE MUST BE TAKEN OFF TO GET TO THE BATTERY. CANNOT EVEN GET A JUMP TO GET THE CAR STARTED. HAVE TO HAVE A TOW. BATTERY RAN DOWN ALTERNATOR. NOW HAVE TO REPLACE BOTH BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR.

I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AND THE HORN BEGAN CHIRPING RANDOMLY OVER THE COURSE OF ABOUT 30 MINUTES. AFTER 30 MINUTES OF RANDOM "CHIRPS" THE HORN ENGAGED AND DID NOT STOP. THIS WAS WHILE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD AND TURNED THE CAR OFF. THE HORN STILL BLEW. I OPENED UP THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND TAPPED THE FUSE BOX/RELAYS AND THE HORN STOPPED. I'VE READ ONLINE THAT MULTIPLE OTHERS HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE AND I WOULD LIKE THE NHTSA TO INVESTIGATE. THIS POSES A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY RISK FOR MYSELF AND THOSE AROUND ME. ALSO, THE HORN NO LONGER WORKS FROM THE STEERING WHEEL WHEN DEPRESSED.

The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler Sebring. The contact stated that while parking the vehicle, the transmission was shifted to park(P), but after releasing the brake pedal, the vehicle rolled forward. The contact then noticed that the instrument panel indicated that the transmission was in drive(D). The contact depressed the brake pedal again, but after releasing the brake pedal, the failure recurred. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact applied the parking brake to prevent the vehicle from rolling and was able to park the vehicle; however, the transmission later became stuck in park (P). The contact used a code reader and retrieved DTC: P2004, P0700, and P0562. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

I TOOK OFF FROM STOPPING AT A RED LIGHT MY 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING CONVERTIBLE SHIFTED THE FIRST GEAR AND THEN LOCKED UP IN 2ND GEAR I CAN ONLY CRUISE AT 35 MILES PER HOUR AT 3000 RPM I PULLED OVER TURN THE KEY SWITCH OFF IT STARTED IT BACK UP IT SHIFTED FINE UNTIL I GOT DID THE THIRD RED LIGHT THEN IT LOCKED UP AGAIN THEY'RE CALLING THIS LIMP MODE I HAVE SEARCHED THE INTERNET AND FOUND THAT THE SEBRINGS HAVE MAJOR PROBLEMS BUT YET THERE IS NO RECALL SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE MY CAR ONLY HAS 140,000 ORIGINAL MILES ON IT 11 YEAR OLD CARS ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO DO THIS

FAULTY OR NO HEM FLANGE SEALER IN THE PAINT SHOP WAS USED TO PREVENT WATER SEEPING UNDER PAINT ON TWO PLACES OF THE FRONT HOOD AND ONCE PLACE ON THE LEFT REAR FENDER. THIS HAS CAUSED THE PAINT TO BUBBLE IN ALL THREE LOCATIONS, ALLOWED WATER TO GATHER IN ALL THREE PLACES AND IS CAUSING RUST DAMAGE TO MY VEHICLE, NOT TO MENTION THE UGLY APPEARANCE OF BUBBLED PAINT AND POTENTIAL FOR CONTINUED RUST DAMAGE! THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE REPAIR THAT SHOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED AND I'M SURE OTHER VEHICLES MADE AT THE SAME TIME EXPERIENCE SIMILAR ISSUES.

TOOK VEHICLE IN TO HAVE THE BALL JOINT TAKEN CARE OF. MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT THE DEALER SOLD ME A CAR WITH A VERY ROTTED SUBFRAME AND THAT THE CAR IS IN AN UNSAFE CONDITION TO DRIVE. I WAS TAKEN TO SEE THE SUBFRAME. THERE ARE SEVERAL CRACKS AS WELL AS LARGE HOLES. THEY WOULD NOT DO THE BALL JOINTS BECAUSE IT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THE SUBFRAME TO BREAK COMPLETELY. IF THE FRAME WOULD BREAK WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, IT COULD BE DEADLY. CHRYSLER HAS BEEN AWARE OF THIS ISSUE, BUT, EXTENDED WARRANTIES ON ONLY THREE OF THEIR VEHICLE MODELS WITH THIS ISSUE. SEBRINGS WERE NOT ON THE LIST. MY SON IS WILLING TO GO UNDER THE CAR FOR PICTURES IF NEEDED.

I HAVE A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING CONVERTIBLE. THE ENGINE HAS BEGUN STALLING AND SURGING AT RED LIGHTS. THE STALLING HAS THE POTENTIAL TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT, BUT THE SURGING IS MUCH MORE DANGEROUS. THE ENGINE WILL SUDDENLY JUMP FROM IDLE TO A COUPLE THOUSAND RPM. IF YOU'RE NOT READY FOR IT YOU CAN EASILY BE PULLED FORWARD SEVERAL FEET, POTENTIALLY INTO THE PATH OF AN ONCOMING CAR. YOU HAVE TO APPLY EXCESSIVE PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TO PREVENT BEING PULLED. THE SURGES ONLY LAST A FEW MOMENTS AND THEN THE ENGINE RETURNS TO IDLE. I WAS LOOKING FOR A FIX AND STARTED SEARCHING THE SYMPTOMS AND FOUND DOZENS OF POSTS OF PEOPLE HAVING EXACTLY THE SAME ISSUE. MOST HAVE TRIED SEVERAL FIXES FOR HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS AND STILL HAVE THE SAME DANGEROUS CONDITION. OUR CAR IS AT THE DEALER NOW, BUT AT THIS POINT I DO NOT KNOW IF THEY CAN SOLVE THE ISSUE. In February 2021 my car wouldn’t stop, tried to give it a jump and it still wouldn’t start. Replaced the battery and it started working again. In April 2021 my engine light came on. I got a diagnostic and the error code read: P2016 Intake Manifold Runner Position Sensor/Switch Circuit Low Bank 1. I didn’t get it fixed. Shortly after, I began hearing a faint crackling noise and noticed when I would drive on turn pikes my a red brake symbol would briefly pop up on my dash board and then go away. In May 2021 my horn stopped working and front right turn signal light stopped working. I tried to get a new one installed it wouldn’t work. I was told it could be an electrical issue. In July 2021 my right low beam head light stopped working. I tried to get a new bulb installed and it still wouldn’t work. At this time I was told the same thing, that it seems like there may be an electrical issue. This month, November 2021, a few days ago on Monday November 1st, I began noticing an acceleration issue in the morning. I would press the accelerator and it wouldn’t pick up until a few seconds later, it was like a delay. Later that day while I was driving on the free way a red flash symbol with lines between it began flashing on my car and my car wouldn’t drive over 20 mph. I pulled over. Shortly after I turned my car back on and it began driving semi normal and I was able to get home. I tried out my car the next day and in the morning the same thing happened again. The red flash symbol with 2 lines on the side of it began flashing on my dashboard and my car wouldn’t go over 20 mph. I’m not sure what the issue is but when I looked up what the red flashing symbol, I noticed a few others who had a similar experience with their 2008 Chrysler Sebring which made me want to look up whether there was a recall and I found out there was but when I searched whether my car was eligible through my VIN number it said there was none unrepaired.

My TPS light has been on for quite some time and after a short time since the first time it appeared my issue worsens everyday. My car STALLS, not only when I am stopped at a light, but even when I am driving at high speeds and the Check Engine light stays on all the time and blinks and dings at times and now the airbag light is on as well and blinks and dings all the time while the car is started. I took the car to get check for error codes, but none come up when the diagnostics is ran.

TAKATA RECALL, THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR SOME TIME NOW AND AS RECENTLY AS LAST MONTH MY SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON REQUIRING ME TO CHANGE THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR. LAST WEEK MY STEREO WAS SHORTED OUT AND MY CRUISE CONTROL NO LONGER WORKS AND ONLY MY HIGH BEAMS ARE WORKING. TODAY MY CAR WOULD NOT START AND I TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP BECAUSE WHEN I TRIED TO START IT THE DASH FLASHED AS IF IT SHORTED OUT AND COME TO FIND OUT MY BATTERY WAS DEAD DRAINED FOR SOME REASON. While driving down the road the Lexus it locks the steering wheel to keep it from moving at all broke almost causing me to have an accident when making the turn it will not pass safety inspection now because of the broken piece inside the steering column that’s where I was going to get it the safety inspection for our state when it broke. I’m not sure exactly what it broke but this is a safety issue. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A REPAIR SHOP AND THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE TIRE AND STEP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 08V152000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE TIRE WAS REPLACED, BUT THE TPMS SENSOR CONTINUED TO ILLUMINATE INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.

BRAKE FAILURE. FIRST TIME IT WAS RAINING DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY PUT ON BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN BECAUSE IT BEGAN RAINING VERY HARD BRAKE LOCKED UP PEDAL WAS HARD TO PUSH CAR SPUN OUT OF CONTROL AND ALMOST SENT ME OVER THE GAURD RAIL. LUCKILY GAINED CONTROL OF THE CAR THANKFULLY THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS IN THE LANE NEXT TO ME. ON SEVERAL OCCASSIONS ESPECIALLY WHEN WET I HAVE NO BRAKES, LIKE IT LOCKS UP OR SOMETHING . ABS LIGHT GOES ON AND OFF. REPLACED THE BRAKES WITH LIFE TIME WARRANTY BRAKES. ABS SENSORS WERE CHECKED AND IN PLACE WHEN BRAKES REPAIRED. HAD IT CHECKED AT TIRES PLUS AND JUST BRAKES BOTH SAID NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES. THE FOLLOWING DAY WE HAD THE CAR TOWED TO ALHAMBRA CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM. I WAS VERY DETAILED IN WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SERVICE MANAGER. THE RESULT WAS A NEW COMPUTER TO MONITOR AND ADMINISTER BRAKING INSTRUCTIONS TO THE VEHICLE. I ALMOST LEFT THE DEALERSHIP BEFORE I NOTICED NO MENTION OF THE INCIDENT AS I HAD ORIGINALLY DESCRIBED. THIS CONCERNED ME AND I ASKED THEM IF THE REMEMBERED WHY I HAD THE CAR TOWED IN. UPON THEIR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT, THEY UPDATED MY BILL DESCRIPTION TO INCLUDE THE ORIGINAL REASON MY CAR WAS TOWED TO THEIR FACILITY. purchased may 15th.and now car sits in my apartment parking lot as a roadblock for all tenants since May 27th. 2008sebring started fine.drove 2 miles roundtrip, vehicle ride was rough upon turning into residence thankfully I was not on the street in traffic when the car decided to stop ,the windows were down I still have not been able to get them rolled up .lights instrument panel lights went haywire flashing,ding chime sound continuous. the backdash illuminate light has never worked. wont accept jump from cables,has power in areas under hood, charged to 12v on charger able to get code (DTC-U1403 implausible fuel level signal. Just like the recall of the wiring issue it's similar. The week this happened the tire pressure indicator in the lower left corner of Dash was lit up and the cruise control light would come on but when engaged it would not drive at the limit set only reduce is speed the stereo CD changer didn't work I thought it was just because it was old the cigarette lighter which I used for my power source the light on that device would flicker in and out showing it wasn't getting a good connection the key would get stuck in the ignition or do a continuous storage where you it would not spring back as it should you'd have to turn it off and then try to restart it the battery in the fob work just fine before all of this took place now the battery is dead in the fob as well. it won't hold a charge I want to know how it's going to get fixed and with whose money?? $95 for Diagnostic.while covering windows later that night,I was able to see a dim red light where the tire pressure indicator was lit up at the fuses are fine the battery is 6 months old but it is constantly draining I it won't stay charged I can't get it out of gear it to put it in neutral to move it anywhere. Main purpose was to get me to my doctor appointments now I can't even do that& I haven't been able to do that.. i think this recall has Revisited. its unsafe

MY 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP SINCE NOVEMBER 9, 2019. DEFECTIVE TIPM. THE STARTER HAS CAUGHT FIRE 3 TIMES. VEHICLE STALLS OUT AND LEAVES YOU IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. BATTERY HAS BEEN REPLACED. IGNITION SWITCH IS GETTING HOT WHEN KEYS ARE IN AND THE KEY GETS STUCK IN IGNITION. TIPM WAS REPLACED. SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG CLOCK SPRING, BATTERY CABLES, AND NOW I AM EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH MY WINDOWS AND COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR. MY PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW HAS FALLEN INTO THE DOOR SEVERAL TIMES DO TO A FAULTY TRACK. MY DRIVER SIDE WINDOW HAS COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING DO TO A FAULTY BUTTON. AND LASTLY, MY COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR FAILED ON ME 2 MONTHS AGO. I CANNOT DRIVE ANY FURTHER THAN A MILE WITHOUT MY CAR REDLINING. I CHECKED FOR A LEAK IN MY HOSES AND SEALS AND HAVE FOUND NOTHING. MY ANTIFREEZE RESERVOIR BURNS SO HOT IT ACTUALLY EVAPORATES THE ANTIFREEZE. I HAVE GONE THROUGH 6 FULL SIZE BOTTLES OF ANTIFREEZE IN A 2 MONTHS PERIOD. I HAVE A NOTICEABLY HIGH IDLE WHENEVER THE CAR STARTS TO GET THE BELOW THE FULL LINE AND NOW I HAVE AN ENGINE PING. THE OVERHEAT ISSUE OCCURS WHENEVER IT DECIDES IT WANTS TO. MY DASHBOARD DISPLAY GOES IN AND OUT INTERMITTENTLY AND MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS TURN ON AT RANDOM WHENEVER I USE MY SIGNAL TO MAKE A LEFT TURN. THIS VEHICLE IS FULL OF ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS THAT I CANNOT AFFORD TO FIX. THE TRUTH IS, I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE WITH THE SMALL CUT OF LIFE INSURANCE MONEY I GOT THE MY MOTHER PASSED AWAY. FIRST I WENT TO START THE CAR, I NOTICED THE BATTERY WASN'T STARTING. I OPEN THE HOOD AND TRIED TO MOVE THE BATTERY POST, THEY WERE TIGHT, BUT THE PLASTIC COVER ON THE POST STARTED SENDING SPARKS OUT WHEN I TOUCHED IT. AFTER A WHILE I TRIED TO START IT AGAIN AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. THEN I NOTICED THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON. I LET IT RUN FOR ABOUT A MINUTE THEN I TURNED IT OFF. I DIDN'T DRIVE IT AT ALL THAT DAY. LATER I CHECKED IT AGAIN. IT DIDN'T START. SO I DID THE SAME THING AGAIN IT STARTED RIGHT UP BUT THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL LIGHT WAS ON AS WELL. TAKATA RECALL. DURING THE COURSE OF A YEAR SINCE I'VE PURCHASED THIS CAR, I HAVE EXPERIENCED ISSUES WITH WHAT I BELIEVE TO BE POWER STEERING. TWICE WHILE COMING TO A STOP (STOP SIGN OR LIGHT), MY STEERING WOULD LOCK ALONG WITH MY BRAKES. WHEN I TOOK IT TO A SHOP I WAS TOLD MY THERMOSTAT NEEDED REPLACED. I TOLD THEM TO FIX THE ISSUE. ON APRIL 17TH WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK A LITTLE AFTER MIDNIGHT THIS SAME ISSUE OCCURRED ONLY WHILE I WAS STILL DRIVING. I WAS ABLE TO FORCE MY WHEEL TO TURN ENOUGH TO DRIVE UP THE BEND I WAS DRIVING AROUND RATHER THAN THE SCHOOL IN FRONT OF ME. FINALLY I HIT A POLE AND MY CAR HAS BEEN RULED AS A TOTAL LOSS. WHEN SHIFTING FROM OR THRU NEUTRAL, (EG. REVERSE TO DRIVE), THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS SO HARD THAT IT CAN LIFT THE ENGINE AND SNAP A MOUNT. HORN AND PASSENGER SIDE LOW BEAM WENT OUT ON MY 4-CYL. 2.4L 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING SEDAN ABOUT A MONTH AGO. I REPLACED THE BULB, WHICH IS LABOR INTENSIVE ON THIS CAR IN ITSELF AND THE LOW BEAM STILL DID NOT WORK. I TESTED THE NEW BULB AND IT WORKED FINE. I MOVED THE BULB TO THE DRIVERS SIDE HEADLAMP AND IT WORKED FINE. THE HARNESS FOR THE BULB CONNECTOR CARRIES A 12V CURRENT BUT STILL THE LOW BEAM DOES NOT WORK. EVERY ONLINE SEARCH POINTS TO A FAULTY TIPM(TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE). I CAN'T AFFORD A NEW ONE AT $595 AND THAT'S IF I REPLACE IT MYSELF. I'M UNABLE TO FIND A COMPATIBLE USED PART AT SALVAGE YARDS IN THE AREA AND CHRYSLER DEALER SAYS THERE IS CURRENTLY A MONTH LONG NATIONAL BACKORDER ON THE PART AND IS UNSURE IF I'LL HAVE A REPLACEMENT IN A MONTH. THIS ALONE SHOULD BE A RED FLAG THAT THERE IS AN UNDERLYING ISSUE AT CHRYSLER. IN THE MEAN TIME I CONTINUE TO SEARCH SALVAGE YARDS AND AM LOOKING FOR A WAY TO BYPASS THE TIPM TO GET THE HEADLAMP WORKING, WHICH IN ITSELF COULD STILL LEAVE ME OPEN TO OTHER FAILURES ON THE TIPM. ALL THIS SAID, I'M WONDERING IF OTHER ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WILL START TO GO SOON AS WELL. AS IT IS I'M HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE HORN, WHICH I BELIEVE ALSO RUNS THROUGH THE TIPM.

ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO MY TPMS SENSOR ON MY DRIVER SIDE STOP WORKING, NOT EVEN A MONTH LATER MY CAR STARTED STALLING. I WOULD BE AT A LIGHT, STOP SIGN, OR PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND IT WOULD JUST STALL. SO I HAD THE ALTERNATOR REPLACED AT NOT EVEN 70,000 MILES WHICH SOLVED THE STALLING ISSUE. THEN ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF AGO I NOTICED WHEN I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE DRIVING TO TAMPA FROM ORLANDO AND I PUT THE CRUISE CONTROL ON AND MY CAR STARTED SLOWING DOWN ON I4 AND ALMOST GOT ME HIT BY A SEMI TRUCK BUT HE WAS THANKFULLY ABLE TO SWERVE INTO THE LANE BESIDE ME. I CALLED CHRYSLER AND TOLD THEM THE ISSUE AND THEY SAID WELL THERE IS A RECALL ON THE TPMS BUT YOUR VIN NUMBER DOESN'T MATCH AND TURNED ME AWAY. THEN A FEW WEEKS LATER I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY PASSENGER SIDE DOOR NOT LOCKING AND THE WINDOW GOING UP BEFORE THE DOOR WAS SHUT, AND WOULD HAVE TO MESS WITH IT TO GET THE DOOR TO ACTUALLY SHUT. THEN ABOUT 8 MONTHS AGO MY RPMS WHERE JUMPING ERECTLY AND MY DAD WHO IS A MECHANIC CLEANED ALL THE CARBON OUT IN MY MOTOR AND I WAS STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. THEN TODAY MY CAR SHIFT WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK AND MY DADS FRIEND NOTICED THE CABLE IN THE MOTOR WAS POPPED OUT AND POPPED IT BACK IN. SO I DRIVE TO CLASS AND WHEN I GET ON CAMPUS AND GO TO PARK MY CAR MY VAR GETS STUCK IN REVERSE AND I HAD TO SIT IN THERE FOR OVER AN HOUR WITH MY FOOT ON THE BREAK BEFORE SOMEONE WAS ABLE TO HELP ME. THIS CAR NEEDS A SERIOUS INVESTIGATION AND CHRYSLER REFUSES TO HELP ME WHEN I HAVE LESS THAN 95,000 MILES ON THE CAR AND MY ISSUES MATCH THERE RECALL PERFECTLY. THESE ISSUES COULD LEAD ME OR SOMEONE ELSE TO GET KILLED OR SERIOUSLY HURT, BUT I GUESS THEY WONT DUE ANYTHING UNTIL ENOUGH PEOPLE GET KILLED OR INJURED TO REALIZE THERES A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE.

I have a 2008 Chrysler Sebring Sedan. The radiator is leaking fluid that splashes all over the wires causing a burning smell. I later found out that this is caused by an electrical issue with the sensors. Similarly my tire pressure sensors are fried. These issues have eroded wires causing my A/C and Cruise Control systems to malfunction. My power windows have issues sometimes I can't get them to roll up or down. My internal lights in my car flickering on and off. The mess from the radiator is also causing my engine to overheat. I am now having issues with oil pan leaks as a result of too much pressure from the engine. I see that only certain VINS were added to the recall list. I strongly suggest that NHTSA add other VINS to the recall list, especially mine, since I'm having those exact same issues. I see that there are complaints about this year make and model as recent as last year. Why hasn't the recall list been updated? Please update the recall list. Please and thank you!!

Engine frequently stalls while driving. I've had my car shut off while I'm driving many times, the steering wheel and brakes lock up and it makes it hard to get off the street to safety. This happens a LOT. It is very dangerous and scary. I get anxiety everytime I drive because I'm scared of it happening again. My car once turned off in the middle of a busy intersection while trying to turn. It came on after about 45 seconds but it was terrifying. Battery often dies (just replaced it). Horn would go off randomly without stopping for a long time. I had to disconnect the horn (on both sides) because it would keep randomly going off with no way to stop it. Cruise control stopped working one day. Sometimes it comes up when I press cruise control but it turns off when I try setting a speed. Drivers window broke inside, I think something snapped inside the door. I've had it replaced 3 times but it keeps breaking. A/C makes an awful grinding noise sometimes, but it goes away if I turn the A/C off then back on. Also with the A/C, a door or something inside the dash will get stuck every so often and it makes a LOUD clicking like noise but it goes away after about 20 seconds (something to do with the actuator?). Brake light will come on sometimes when I stop. It goes away shortly after I start driving again. ABS light has been on my dash for a few months now. Most of these issues have been happening for over a year now. Most of this shows up under a recall from 2008, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: WIRING. It doesn't show up under my VIN number but I'm having the same exact problems.

I was on my way to work. All the warning light appeared on my dash. Then all the warning light, radio, speedometer gage and all head light and tail lights went out. I was driving in the dark. My engine bogged down no power. I was barley moving. I replaced the battery no difference. I replaced the alternator worked for 3 minutes and then the car was back to the same as before. I contacted a nearby mechanic facility they told me that it was most definitely the fuse panel under the hood. That's its not a recall but a lawsuit replacement. I notified the manufacturer and they told me my Vin number was not under recall. I'm confused on what to do not. I'm in no way able to purchase a new vehicle at this time. Nor spend hundreds or thousands in repairs. Please help.

ON MAY 20, 2017 DRIVING ON INTERSTATE 70-80 MPH; RED LIGHTNING BOLT DASH WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. MY CAR SEEMED TO PULL BACK AND HESITATE. IT WAS DRIVING AS IF IT MAY CUT OFF. I DROVE INTO RIGHT LANE AND DROPPED SPEED TO ABOUT 55 MPH. I DID NOT STOP BECAUSE IT WAS NIGHT AND I AM A SENIOR WOMAN DRIVING ALONE ON A ROUTE I'D NEVER DRIVEN. THE CAR WOULD PULSATE AND RUN UNSTEADY WHEN IDLING A STOPS. I MADE IT HOME, TURNED CAR BACK ON AND LIGHT WENT OFF. I WENT ONLINE AND LOOKED UP THE RED LIGHT ICON AND IT SAID "ETC ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM. NOW I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR; ESPECIALLY ON THE HIGHWAYS AND INTERSTATES. ON PREVIOUS OCCASION ON A HIGHWAY DOING 60 MPH OR SO; CAR ACCELERATED AND WOULD NOT SLOW UP UNTIL IT DECIDED TO. I HAD NO CONTROL ABOUT 30- 40 SECONDS. THANK GOD I DID NOT PANIC AND DID NOT CRASH. I REPORTED TO MECHANIC AT DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED CAR. THEY SAID THEY HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING WHAT HAPPENED UNLESS I HAPPENED AGAIN. ALSO, IN MARCH I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO THE SHOP BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT START. THEY HAD TO CORRECT WIRING PROBLEM. ANOTHER PROBLEM, THEIR IS A TICKING SOUND. THIS CAR HAS A FAULTY TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM). THIS CAUSED SEVERAL PROBLEMS INCLUDING: THE CAR STALLING SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING AT ABOUT 50 MPH ON A STRAIGHT ROAD, THE HORN GOING OFF INTERMITTENTLY AND UNCONTROLLABLY BOTH WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND WHILE IT WAS MOVING, AND A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THAT WOULD NOT CLEAR. I REPLACED THE FAULTY TIPM AT MY OWN EXPENSE AND IT RESOLVED ALL THESE PROBLEMS. CHRYSLER HAS ISSUED RECALLS FOR TIPMS, BUT THEY HAVE NEVER RECALLED THE 2008 SEBRING. I HAVE THE ORIGINAL, FAULTY TIPM OUT OF THE CHRYSLER THAT I CAN SEND FOR TESTING AND VERIFICATION.

I BEGAN FINANCING IN NOV 2013 FROM TOYOTA OF RIVERSIDE, 1YR AND 3 MONTHS LATER ON FEB 17, 2015 WHILE I WAS EXITING THE FREEWAY, MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, MY CAR COMPLETELY SHUTDOWN, I HAD NO BRAKES, I WAS FEARFUL AND HELD ONTO THE STEERING WHEEL COASTED NEAR AN ARCO STATION. I WAS THANKFUL I DID NOT HIT ANYONE OR HAVE AN ACCIDENT. I CALLED AAA WHO TOWED ME TO TOYOTA OF RIVERSIDE. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A LANE CHANGE, MY CAR WENT OUT OF CONTROL DUE TO STEERING FAILURE. I COULD NOT STEER MY CAR, MY STEERING WHEEL WAS VERY LOOSE AND THERE WAS NO CONNECTION BETWEEN THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE VEHICLE ITSELF. I WAS STRUCK BY ANOTHER DRIVER THAT HIT MY CAR ON THE PASSENGER-SIDE BY THE REAR LOWER SIDE PANEL. NO AIRBAG DEPLOYED. MY CAR SLAMMED UP AGAINST THE CONCRETE WALL BARRIER ON THE PASSENGER-SIDE OF MY CAR. I HAVE SIDE AIRBAGS, AIRBAGS IN MY SEATS, UNDERNEATH MY DASH, IN MY STEERING WHEEL, ONE ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE ABOVE THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT, AND IN ALL FOUR WINDOW SEALS OF MY CAR AND NOT ONE AIRBAG DEPLOYED. I HAVE ADR SYSTEM IN MY CAR THAT SUPPOSEDLY CAN RECORD SECONDS OF ACTIVITY AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT. WHAT HAPPENED TO THAT INFORMATION? I AM STILL EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH MY CARE THAT IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE SUCH AS; CONTINUING REPLACING TIE ROD AND THE STABILIZER BAR LOOSE. THIS PROBLEM STARTED FIRST HAVING PROBLEMS TRYING TO TURN THE KEY IN THE IGNITION SWITCH TO CRANK THE CAR AND AT TIMES FEARING THAT I MIGHT BREAK THE KEY IN THE IGNITION SWITCH AND HAVING TO REALLY WIGGLE THE STEERING WHEEL TO GET THE SWITCH TO TURN OVER. PICTURES THAT WERE TAKEN BY MY INSURANCE COMPANY REVEALED A LOT OF RUSTY OLD LOOKING PARTS UNDERNEATH THE CAR WHEN IN FACT THE MOTOR OF THE CAR STILL LOOKS NEW. MY CAR WAS ONLY TWO YEARS OLD WITH A LITTLE OVER 17,000 MILES AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE IN OCTOBER 2010. WHEN I REPORTED THESE ALL OF THESE THINGS IN SEPTEMBER 2011, I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO RECALLS ON MY CAR AND I DOUBT IF THIS CAR HAS ANY AIRBAGS IN IT. AT 4055 MILES CAR WAS BROUGHT INTO DEALERSHIP FOR ROTOR ISSUES, THE CAR HAS BEEN BACK TO 3 DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS, MORE THAN 15 TIMES, FOR BRAKE LIGHT, WINDOW SEAL, POWER STEERING PUMP, TRANSMISSION, STALLING, FUEL GAUGE,TOP ISSUES,FOR MAINLY VIBRATION ISSUES AT LEAST 10 TIMES, THE CAR HAS APPROX. 26K MILES AND IS ON ITS THIRD SET OF TIRES, THE DEALERSHIPS REFUSES TO GO BEYOND ALIGNMENT, BRAKES, ROTORS, RIMS AND TIRES, THIS TIME STRUTS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 60 MPH IN THE RAIN WHEN THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL SPORADICALLY WITHOUT WARNING WHILE SITTING WITH THE ENGINE IDLING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING DIAGNOSIS AND POSSIBLE REPAIRS. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 30,373.

I WAS TRAVELING BACK TO LOS ANGELES,CA FROM SEDONA, AZ. IT HAD BEEN RAINING OFF/ON ALL DAY. SOMETIMES LIGHTLY AND OFTEN TIMES VERY HEAVY WITH WAKE WATER COMING OFF OF OTHER CARS AND TRUCKS ON A VERY BUSY CA HIGHWAY. MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING DURING HEAVY DOWNPOUR TWICE. HAD TO CRAWL OFF THE FREEWAY WHILE UNABLE TO SEE BECAUSE OF NO WIPERS. HAD TO WAIT AT LEAST 15 MINUTES BEFORE THEY WOULD WORK AGAIN AFTER THE FIRST FAILURE. WAS ABLE TO TRAVEL USING THE DELAYED INTERMITTENT SEQUENCE UNTIL RAIN GOT TOO HEAVY. WHEN SWITCHED TO FASTER WIPING AFTER TEN MINUTES WIPERS STOPPED AGAIN. LUCKILY AGAIN I WAS ABLE TO CRAWL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, AND I WAITED FOR THE RAIN TO STOP. I HAVE NOT HAD THIS HAPPEN BEFORE AND I HAVE DRIVEN LONG AND SHORT DISTANCES IN THE RAIN. ANOTHER ISSUE IS I HAVE HAD ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS OVER THE LAST YEAR AND 1/2, THE CAR SHUT OFF/STALL WHILE WAITING AT RED LIGHTS, AND ONCE WHILE THE CAR WAS MOVING IT STARTED TO STALL. AT NO TIME DID THE ENGINE MALFUNCTION LIGHT,OR ELECTRICAL LIGHT COME ON OR STAY ON. I WAS TOLD BY CHRYSLER TECHNICIANS/MECHANICS THAT UNLESS THE LIGHT STAYS ON THEY CAN'T DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. OTHERWISE THE FAILURE HAD TO BE DUPLICATED, I.E, HAVE TO OCCUR IN THE PRESENCE OF THE TECHNICIANS. WELL YOU KNOW HOW THAT GOES. I UNDERSTAND THAT MY CAR WAS NOT PART THE 08V152000 RECALL, BUT THIS SITUATION IS DANGEROUS. PLEASE HELP.

I PURCHASED A 2008 CHRYSLER SEBRING IN AUGUST 2007, FROM DARCARS BRAND NEW, AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE CHRYSLER WAS AWARE OF THE RECALL 6MONTHS PRIOR AND MADE NO ATTEMPT TO INFORM ME. MY CAR IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALERSHIP BEING SERVICED. I TOOK THE CAR IN BECAUSE SUDDENLY THE CAR BEGIN TO MAKE A HORRIBLE NOISE, THAT I DESCRIBED TO THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE AS A NOISY FAN BELT, THAT WHINNIED WHILE DRIVING, BUT NOISIEST WHILE IN PARK, ODILIMG AT THE STOP LIGHT. I TOOK THE CAR IN AND THEY PRETENDED NOT TO HAVE A CLUE, AND BEGIN TO INQUIRE ABOUT OIL CHANGES AND OTHER SUGGESTED MAINTENANCE, I SHOWED THE WRITER AND MECHANIC MY MOST CURRENT MAINTENANCE RECEIPT PRINTOUT ALONG WITH THE PREVIOUS DATES, SO THEY BACKED AWAY FROM THE INDIRECT ACCUSATIONS THAT IT WAS POSSIBLY MY FAULT. THE POWER STEERING PUMP IS DEFECTED, THE PULLEY FROZE, AND THE ALTERNATOR. THE CAR HAS ONLY BEEN USED TO TRANSPORT MY CHILDREN TO AND FROM SCHOOL AND SOCIAL EVENTS, AND MY TRANSPORTATION TO AND FROM WORK, GROCERY STORES AND THINGS OF THAT NATURE. MY MILEAGE IS 31,418.
