TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1992 DODGE CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ANTI LOCK BRAKE WARNING LIGHT WOULD INTERMITTENTLY ILLUMINATE WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO APPLY HEAVY PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL DURING THE FAILURE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 96V099000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:ANTILOCK). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.

THE REPAIRS WERE NOT PERFORMED CORRECTLY FOR ABS RECALL 0685, THE PROPER TESTING FIXTURE'S WERE NOT INSTALLED DURING ANY OF THE OPERATIONS YOU PROVIDED, DIAGNOSTIC AND REPAIR RECOMMENDATIONS WERE GROSSLY INCORRECT, TECHNICIANS AND SERVICE WRITERS STORY'S ON ALL R.O.'S ARE INADEQUATE AND INCORRECT. I CAN PROVE ALL OF THIS IN A COURT OF LAW, AND AM READY TO DO SO IF NEEDED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1992 DODGE CARAVAN. THE CONTACT IS UPSET BECAUSE HE HAS HAD HIS BRAKES REPAIRED TWICE AT HIS OWN EXPENSE. THE CONTACT JUST FOUND OUT THERE WAS AN RECALL ON HIS YEAR/MAKE AND MODEL. HE INFORMED THE MANUFACTURER OF THE FAILURE WITH THE BRAKES. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WOULD ONLY COVER THE EXPENSES IF THE CONTACT VEHICLE HAD LESS THAN 100,000 MILES. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING AT 40MPH AND THE BRAKES FAILED AGAIN. THE CONTACT PUT ON HIS EMERGENCY BRAKES AND PULLED OVER. HE LATER DROVE IT TO THE REPAIR SHOP. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 159733.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1992 DODGE CARAVAN. WHILE DRIVING LESS THAN 55 MPH, THE ABS WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND FOUND IT TO BE EXTREMELY STIFF. THE BRAKES WERE INOPERATIVE AND HE EVENTUALLY WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE BY DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL REPEATEDLY WITH GREAT FORCE. ALTHOUGH THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE ABS FAILURES (NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 96V099000), THE DEALER WOULD NOT MAKE THE NECESSARY REPAIRS BECAUSE THE BRAKE LINE WAS RUSTED. THE REPAIRS WOULD NOT BE EFFECTIVE UNLESS THE CONTACT PAID TO HAVE THE BRAKE LINE REPLACED AT THE ESTIMATED COST OF $700. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 199,000.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1992 DODGE CARAVAN. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS, THE BRAKES FAILED WHEN THEY WERE APPLIED. THE ABS WAS NOT OPERATING PROPERLY, WHICH EXTENDED THE STOPPING DISTANCE. THE WARNING LIGHT INDICATORS WERE ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE WORN ABS PUMP AND PISTON. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR THE SAME FAILURE. THERE WAS A PRIOR RECALL DEFECT REPAIR; HOWEVER, THE RECALL REMEDY HAS NOT CORRECTED THE SAFETY DEFECT. THE CONTACT WAS IN THE PROCESS OF NOTIFYING THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 197,250 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 215,000. MY DRIVERS SIDE SEAT BELT MALFUNCTIONED THAT IT WOULD NOT RETRACT AND WAS LOOSE AND I COULD NOT EVEN BUCKLE UP MY SEATBELT. I HAD THE VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE ON A RECALL AND I HAD THE DEALER LOOK AT THE SEATBELT TO FIX IT. THE DEALER ADVISED ME THAT IT NEEDED PARTS AND WITH PARTS AND LABOR IT WOULD COST ME $300 DOLLARS TO FIX IT. I CONTACTED DODGE AND THEY SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT SINCE IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. MY FEELINGS ARE THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND IT IS A STATE LAW TO WEAR SEATBELTS. I DID FEEL THAT I HAD TO PAY $300 TO FIX THE PROBLEM, THEY WOULD NOT EVEN MEET ME HALF WAY $150. MAYBE YOU CAN HELP RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM, I WAS NEVER IN A ACCIDENT. ELECTRIC RADIATOR FAN SEIZED UP AND BLEW A FUSABLE LINK THAT WAS LOCATED ** INSIDE ** THE MAIN WIRE HARNESS NEAR THE FRONT WASHER FLUID RESERVOIR. POWER STEERING ON 1992 DODGE 230 XPLORER M.H. VAN. HAD VAN TAKEN TO HEMET CHRYSLER IN HEMET CALIF. AND "THEY" DETERMINED THAT THE STEERING GEAR BOX NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE SERVICE MANAGER AND SERVICE WRITER ADAMANTLY STATE THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AFTER THEY STATED THEY REPLACED THE BOX....YET....THE STEERING IS EXACTLY THE SAME AS WHEN I HAD THE VEHICLE TAKEN TO THEM. I HAVE SINCE RESEARCHED SEVERAL SITES WITH MUCH INFORMATION THAT CHRYSLER HAS KNOWN FOR YEARS THAT DODGE CARS (DID NOT MENTION MY VAN) HAVE HAD STEERING PROBLEMS AND THOSE PROBLEMS HAVE CAUSED MANY ACCIDENTS AND SOME DEATHS. I HAVE LOST TWO STARTER ENGINES IN 90,000 MILES, WHICH APPEAR TO BE COMPONENT DESIGN FLAWS. THE CHRONIC STALLING PROBLEM SURFACED AT 5,000 MILES, AND THE CHRYSLER TECHNICAL CENTER COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. STALLING HAS OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT <25 MPH (DURING LEFT OR RIGHT HAND TURNS), WHICH I BELIEVE IS A SAFETY HAZARD. SEVERAL TIMES, A DEALER CLEANED THE THROTTLE BODY HOUSING, BUT THE PROBLEM WOULD REOCCUR FREQUENTLY. I NOTICE THAT THERE ARE MORE THAN 10 TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS FOR THE IDLE CONTROL MOTOR, THE FUEL PUMP, STALLING IMMEDIATELY AT COLD START, STALLING AFTER THE TRANSMISSION IS PLACED INTO GEAR, ETC.
