THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AIR BAG WAS DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 152,000. I CANNOT BELIEVE A RECALL ON THE INTERMITTENT AIR LIGHT COMING ON HAS NOT OCCURRED ON THE 2002 CARAVAN. MINE GOES ON AND OFF USUALLY WHEN MAKING A TURN-A CLEAR INDICATION THAT THE WIRE IN THE CLOCKSPRING HAS FAILED. THE PROBLEM IS WHEN THE LIGHT IS ON THE AIRBAGS WILL NOT FUNCTION MAKING THE CAR UNSAFE SHOULD AN ACCIDENT OCCUR. DODGE WANTS ALMOST $300 TO REPLACE A PART THAT HAS BEEN FAILING ON PREVIOUS MODEL YEARS AND WERE RECALLED. THIS WILL BE MY 2ND TIME FIXING THE ISSUE. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2002 DODGE CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 2 MPH, BURNING FUMES STARTED TO EMIT INTO THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT HE HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED WITHOUT IMPACTING ANYTHING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE FAILURE, THE AIR BAG WARNING LAMP ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO SENT AN ENGINEER TO FURTHER INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THE ENGINEER REPLACED THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG, SEAT BELT, DASHBOARD AND THE WIRING HARNESS. I HAVE A 2002 DODGE CARAVAN AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT JUST CAME ON ON MY DASH. MY MECHANIC SCANNED THE CODE AND GOT "PASSENGER SQUIB #1 CIRCUIT OPEN". HE TELLS ME THAT I NEED A WHOLE NEW WIRING HARNESS OR A WHOLE NEW AIRBAG BUT THAT THE PROBLEM IS A CONNECTOR THAT USED TO BE AVAILABLE FROM CHRYSLER BUT IS NOT ANY MORE. THIS SEEMS CRAZY. 2002 DODGE CARAVAN I'VE HAD SINCE NEW, HAS A HORN THAT HAS PROGRESSIVELY LOST AREAS ON THE STEERING WHEEL WHERE IT CAN BE ACTIVATED. I'VE NEVER HAD AN ACCIDENT WITH IT, BUT NEARLY HAD A COUPLE BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE SINCE ITS INCEPTION OVER 4 YEARS BACK. DUE TO HIGH COST OF REPAIR BY DODGE I HAVE OPTED TO LIVE WITH THE PROBLEM. BUT IF THIS IS SOMETHING ENDEMIC TO THIS, OR OTHER CHRYSLER VEHICLES, I'D LIKE TO HAVE IT FIXED. MY TRANSMISSION FAILED THANKSGIVING DAY 2006. VAN WAS PARKED ON HILL. I PLACED IT IN DRIVE AND IT ROLLED BACKWARDS DOWN THE HILL. WAS ABLE TO CAUTIOUSLY DRIVE IT TO TRANSMISSION SHOP. THEY HAD TO REBUILD THE UNIT. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER CAME ON. AFTER PICKING IT UP I HAD TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE SHOP BECAUSE IT WOULDN'T GO OUT OF FIRST GEAR. SHOP STATED IT WAS DUE TO A SENSOR PROBLEM. A COUPLE OF MONTH'S LATER IT DID THE SAME FIRST GEAR. SHOP REPLACED THE SENSOR AGAIN. LUCKILY THE REBUILT TRANSMISSION WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. DODGE ONLY WARRANTS THE POWERTRAIN TO THE ORIGINAL PURCHASER. I PURCHASED IT USED IN 2003. *JB

I AND MY WIFE WHILE DRIVING UP HWY 44 AT 1730 HRS TO PICK UP OUR SON FROM WORK AT SIX FLAGS(IN THE RAIN), SHE WAS DRIVING OUR 2002 DODGE CARAVAN EC. WE CAME DOWN PAST ANTIRE HILL RD THERE WERE A WARRING BUZZER AND A ENGINE WARRING LIGHT CAME ON. ABOUT A HALF MILE LATER THE VAN SEEM TO HAVE A SHUTTER IN THE STEERING, SHE STATED AND I SAW THIS. AS WE CROSSED THE MERAMAC RIVER THERE WAS A LOUD METAL POPPING AND GRINDING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. ALMOST THROUGH ME OUT OF THE SEAT I THOUGHT SHE HAD APPLIED THE BRAKES. SHE STATED SHE HAD NOT AND THAT SHE WAS HAVING A HARD TIME CONTROLLING IT. SHE HAD LET OFF THE GAS AND SLOWED BUT NOT BEFORE HEARING THE DRIVER FRONT TIRE LOCK UP AND SKID ON THE WET PAVEMENT PULLING US TOWARD THE TRAFFIC COMING FROM BEHIND. THEN THE VEHICLE GAVE ANOTHER LOUD GRINDING NOISE AND POP AND SHE GOT TO THE SHOULDER. I HAD HER POP THE HOOD AND FOUND THE TRANSMISSION DIPSTICK PUSHED OUT OF THE TUBE WITH FLUID SPRAYED EVERY WERE. I SAID I WOULD TRY AND GET US TO WALMART SO WE COULD CALL FAR HELP AND GET A RIDE FOR MY SON. I THEN STARED THE VAN PLACED IT IN (L) AND CONTINUED TO THE HWY 109 EXIT. THEN TO THE OUTER ROAD THEN FINALLY MAKING IT TO WALMART'S PARKING LOT. WHILE TRYING TO PULLING TO A PARKING SPOT THE TRANS GAVE ONE LAST LOUD SNAPPING SOUND, THAT WAS ALL I HAD TO ROLL BACK DOWN THE HILL AND COST TO PARK VAN. ENGINE WOULD RUN NOTHING FROM TRANS IN ANY GEAR. WE WALKED TO THE AUTOMOTIVE SECTION AND CALLED MY FATHER TO COME AND GET US. WE ARRIVED BACK HOME AT 2030 HRS. THE VAN IS NOT FIXED THIS JUST HAPPENED I AM GOING TO CALL CHRYSLER MONDAY TO SE IF THEY WILL COVER IT. IF NOT I WILL BE FIXING IT MYSELF AND YOU MAY HAVE THE PARTS IF NEEDED. I PURCHASED MY 2002 DODGE CARAVAN NEW. IT HAS HAD SEVERAL PROBLEMS IN THE FOUR YEARS THAT I HAVE OWNED IT. ASIDE FROM ALL OF THE RECALL WORK, MY TRANSMISSION HAS FAILED TWICE NOW. THE FIRST TIME IT FAILED WAS TWO MONTHS AGO, THE MECHANIC SAID IT WAS A SENSOR PROBLEM AND THAT IT WAS FIXED. IT WENT OUT AGAIN LAST NIGHT WHILE DRIVING. NOW THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME ANOTHER DEDUCTIBLE TO "FIX" IT AGAIN. MY AIR CONDITIONER HAS NOT WORKED PROPERLY IN OVER A YEAR, WATER LEAKS DOWN ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR, AND COLD AIR ONLY COMES OUT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE VENTS, THE DRIVER SIDE VENTS BLOW OUT HOT AIR. IT IS ALMOST LIKE SOMEONE IS HOLDING A REMOTE ENTRY DEVICE( WHICH I DON'T HAVE) AND I HEAR A CLICK, CLICK AS IT DISENGAGES THE LOCK. YESTERDAY IT HAPPENED AT LEAST TEN TIMES, EVERY TIME I PUT THE VAN IN PARK THE REAR HATCH UN-LATCHES AND I HAVE TO SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF AND USE MY KEY TO OPEN THE HATCH THE REST OF THE WAY FOR IT TO CLOSE. ALSO FOR THE FIRST TIME IT HAS INTERFERED WITH MY POWER DOOR LOCKS WORKING. THE HATCH WILL ALSO DISENGAGE IF I AM PARKED AND JUST IDLING. 7/31/05 CONSUMER PRODUCTS SAFETY COMMISSION DAIMLER CHRYSLER MOTORS CORPORATION TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: I HAVE A 2002 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN SE THAT WAS DESIGNED AND BUILT WITH A DANGEROUS DEFECT. THE TAIL LIGHT LENSES OR COVERS HAVE BEEN GLUED ON BUT THE GLUE HAS FAILED ON BOTH TAIL LIGHTS AND BOTH COVERS HAVE FALLEN OFF ONTO THE FREEWAY EXPOSING THE BRIGHT WHITE LIGHT BULBS AND DROPPING A LARGE PLASTIC LENS ONTO THE FREEWAY. WHEN THE FIRST ONE FELL OFF MY WIFE STOPPED ON THE FREEWAY AND PICKED UP THE LENS. WHAT A GREAT WAY TO GET KILLED. THE SECOND TIME I WAS DRIVING AT NIGHT ON THE FREEWAY AND HEARD A NOISE BUT DID NOT STOP UNTIL I LEFT THE FREEWAY. THE DEALER SELLS THE ENTIRE LIGHT ASSEMBLY FOR $ 99.00 BUT THE LENS COVER IS NOT SOLD SEPARATELY. LOOKS LIKE A GOOD FUNDRAISER FOR THE DEALER BUT A DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR EVERYONE ON THE ROAD. THE PROBLEM IS THE NEW LENS HAS THE SAME DESIGN AND WAS BUILT THE SAME AS THE ORIGINAL ONE. I TALKED TO THE SALES CLERK AT THE DODGE PARTS COUNTER AND HE SAID "WE HAVE SOLD A LOT OF THESE LATELY." SO THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED INCIDENCE. IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE PEOPLE ARE INJURED BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. IF THE DAIMLER CHRYSLER MOTORS CORPORATION ACTS RESPONSIBLE AND SOLVES THIS PROBLEM QUICKLY LIVES CAN BE SAVED AND INJURIES AVOIDED. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE NOTICED A LENS COVER FOR A VEHICLE LIGHT COVER THAT WAS NOT ATTACHED WITH SCREWS. THE GOOD THING IS THERE IS A SIMPLE SOLUTION TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM. DRILL TWO HOLES IN THE PLASTIC LENS AND INSTALL TWO SCREWS AS I HAVE DONE TO THE LENS COVER RETRIEVED FROM THE FREEWAY BY MY WIFE. AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE AND PUTTING IT INTO DRIVE, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED TO A SPEED OF 45-50 MPH WITHOUT MY HAVING PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR. THE RMP GAUGE WAS FLUCTUATING WILDLY AND THE ENGINE EMITTED A LOUD "REVVING" SOUND. I IMMEDIATELY APPLIED THE BRAKES WHICH REDUCED THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE TO ONLY APPROX. 25-35 MPH. IN ORDER TO BRING THE CAR TO A COMPLETE STOP, I HAD TO "STAND" ON THE BRAKES (PRESSING EXTREMELY HARD). AT THIS POINT THE ENGINE STALLED. WHEN MY MECHANIC TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM, HE, TOO, INDICATED WHAT DIFFICULTY HE HAD "CONTROLLING" THE CAR AND WAS ALMOST IN AN ACCIDENT. THE CAR WAS ULTIMATELY TAKEN TO D'AMBROSIO DODGE IN DOWNINGTOWN, PA FOR REPAIR. THE MECHANIC TOLD ME HE WAS FAMILIAR WITH THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM, INDICATING TO ME I AM NOT THE FIRST PERSON TO HAVE THIS HAPPEN. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS PROBLEM THAT OCCURRED WITH MY VEHICLE. DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE EMITTED A FOGHORN-LIKE SOUND FROM THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM. THIS ONLY OCCURRED WHILE THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM WAS RUNNING ON LOW FAN SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A SERVICE DEALER, HOWEVER THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM.

DT: 2002 CHRYSLER DODGE MINIVANS ARE PRONE TO LEAKING WATER INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE FOOT WELL AREA WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONER IS OPERATING. THIS PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS, AND HAS BEEN FIXED THREE TIMES BY THE DEALERSHIP. THE CONSUMER HAD TO PAY AFTER THE WARRANTY RAN OUT. THE AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR FAILED PREMATURELY. THE CONSUMER HAS HAD THE COMPRESSOR REPLACED, THE WARRANTY PAID FOR THAT. THE COMPRESSOR FAILED IN JUNE OF 2005. THE VEHICLE HAS 69,000 MILES. MY VEHICLE HAD A MASSIVE BLOWOUT AND TIRE FAILURE ON THE E-WAY WITH MY DAUGHTER IN LAW AND GRANDCHILDREN(2). THIS OCCURRED ON 6/19/10 ON HIGHWAY 74 TO PHOENIX AZ. AT APPROX. 1-P.M., VEHICLE SPEED WAS 65 M.P.H.THE TIRE INVOLVED WAS A GOODYEAR INTEGRITY 215/70/15. IT BLEW OUT FAST AND DANGEROUS. THE OTHER REAR TIRE ON INSPECTION LATER HAD A SPLIT BETWEEN THE TREAD BOND TO THE TIRE CASINGTIRES HAD APPROX. 25-30K ON THEM WITH GOOD TREAD, THESE TIRES WERE ALWAYS ROTATED AND AIRED UP AS I AM A RETIRED APPRENTICED TRAINED FO. NO MORE THAN A WEEK LATER STILL THERE, CALLED AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT. DIAGNOSIS SECOND TIME WAS STRUTS, STABILIZER BAR, BUSHINGS. AGAIN, COVERED UNDER MANUFACTURER WARRANTY BUT STILL HAD TO PAY ANOTHER $100 DEDUCTIBLE. EVEN THOUGH STILL PART OF SAME PROBLEM. NOW A WEEK LATER, PROBLEM AGAIN PERSISTS BUT WORSE. DRIVING ON A BOULEVARD THOROUGHFARE IN A SNOWSTORM, I LEANED BACK SLIGHTLY ON THE SEATBACK TO SHIFT MY WEIGHT SO I COULD SEE BETTER. I HEARD A LOUD SOUND SIMILAR TO A BULLET BEING FIRED, AND THE SEATBACK IMMEDIATELY FELL BACKWARD TO A HORIZONTAL POSITION. I WAS NOW ON MY BACK, UNABLE TO SEE THE ROAD OR OTHER REFERENCES THROUGH ANY WINDOW. I PULLED MYSELF UP USING THE STEERING WHEEL AND REGAINED CONTROL OF THE CAR. LUCKILY THERE WERE NO ACCIDENTS OR INJURY. I PHONED THE VEHICLE MANUFACTURER CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTER AND REPORTED WHAT TOOK PLACE. THEY ASSIGNED A CASE NUMBER AND TOLD ME TO HAVE MY DEALER MAKE A DIAGNOSIS AND CALL THEM. THEY PHONED ME BACK THE SAME DAY SAYING THE MANUFACTURER WILL PAY TO HAVE THE SEAT REPAIRED IF I AGREED TO A $200. CO-PAY. I AGREED AND THE DEALER REPAIRED THE SEAT RECLINER, STATING ON THEIR PAPERWORK "THERE WAS A NUT ON THE SEAT FRAME THAT BROKE/SNAPPED OFF OF ROD." WE WERE HEADING HOME TO NEW BRAUNFELS TEXAS WHEN I RAN INTO CONSTRUCTION AND THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC CAME TO A STOP AND A FULL SIZE VAN REAR ENDED MY MINIVAN AT ABOUT 30MPH. IN THE CAR I HAD MY PREGNANT WIFE, MOTHER, DAD AND 2 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. THE CAR WAS A 2002 DODGE CARAVAN AND MY DAUGHTER WAS STRAPPED INTO THE CAR SEAT AND EVERYONE ELSE WAS USING THEIR SEATBELTS. MY MOMS SEATBELT WHICH WAS LOCATED ON THE CENTER BENCH SEAT DIRECTLY BEHIND THE PASSENGER SEAT CAME UNDONE. IT HELD AT THE INITIAL IMPACT BUT GAVE WAY AFTER THAT. TWO THINGS THAT SAVED HER WERE MY ARM AND MY FATHER'S SEAT WHICH IS THE SECOND PROBLEM I HAVE SNAPPED BACK AND BROKE AND PINNED HER LEGS AND PREVENTED HER FROM FLYING THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD. THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THE BRAKE DRUMS WOULD BECOME EXTREMELY HOT AND TURN BLUE. THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED WITH NEW DRUMS, ROTORS, AND BRAKES PADS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 73,000.

COMPLAINT RECEIVED VIA E-MAIL. WE HAD THE POWER STEERING PUMP CHANGED FOUR TIMES. ON 7/22/03, WE BROUGHT THE VAN INTO WESTWAY DODGE BECAUSE IT MADE A LOUD NOISE WHEN TURNING. THEY CONDUCTED TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 19-006-02 AND INSTALLED A LONGER POWER STEERING HOSE. ON 7/31/2003, WE AGAIN BROUGHT IT IN TO WESTWAY, BECAUSE THE POWER STEERING PUMP WAS MAKING A MOANING SOUND. THEY DIAGNOSED IT AS LOW PRESSURE OUTPUT, AND REPLACED THE POWER STEERING PUMP. ON SEPTEMBER . 15, 2003 WE BROUGHT IT IN FOR THE POWER STEERING COOLANT LINE RECALL. AFTER THAT TIME, THE DEALER ADVISED US THAT IT WAS STILL MAKING NOISE, WE EXPERIENCED CONTINUED NOISE. AT TIMES, IT WAS DIFFICULT TO TURN. NOVEMBER 26, 2004, WE TOOK OUR VAN TO DEALER FOR UPPER POWER STEERING PUMP RECALL. WE BROUGHT IT TO MACK MASSEY DODGE AT 950 CROCKETT, EL PASO, TX 79922 FOR RECALL REPAIRS. THEY ALSO REPLACED THE PUMP AND TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE. ALSO, FOUND THE POWER STEERING PUMP WAS LEAKING, AND IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.*AK.....POWER STEERING PUMP WA SCHANGED FOUR TIMES, THREE OF THOS ETIMES WAS DURING RECALLS. 03/1205 DRIVING ON PALMDALE ROAD MY CAR STOPPED I WAS UNABLE TO GET IT STARTED - HAD IT TOWED TO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP ON 03/14/05. THEY REPLACED THE ENGINE AFTER HAVING MY VEHICLE FOR SEVERAL WEEKS. I GOT MY CAR BACK IN MAY. ON MAY 09 I RETURNED MY CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP DUE TO THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BEING ON. THEY CHECK THE VEHICLE AND SAID THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM. ON MAY 13 2005 I DROVE MY CAR DOWN TO LA AND THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON I CONTACTED THE SERVICE DEPT AT DODGE THEY TOLD ME TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK IN. I RETURNED THE VEHICLE ON MAY 15, 2005. THEY THEN INSTALLED REMANVALVE BODY AS PER PPC CLEAR CODES. ON JULY 21, 2005 I WAS LEAVING THE OFFICE WHEN MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND MY CAR WOULD NOT CHANGE GEARS. I WENT INTO AUTO ZONE AND THEY CHECKED THE CODE THAT CAME UP WHICH WAS P0700 - TRANSMISSION CODE. WE CHECKED THE FLUID IT WAS FINE. I PROCEEDED TO DRIVE HOME - APPROXIMATELY 8 - 10 MILES MY CAR OVER HEATED. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED THE CAR OVER TURNED OFF THE CAR AND PLACED THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS ON. I CONTACTED MY SON. HE CAME OUT AND BROUGHT WITH HIM SOME ANTIFREEZE AND WATER. HE CHECKED THE VEHICLE OUT AND PLACED IN THE ANTIFREEZE AND WATER - THE VEHICLE STARTED - THERE WERE NO NOISES. WE DROVE IT THE 2 MILES HOME. BY THE TIME I GOT HOME IT WAS OVER HEATING AGAIN. HE OPENED THE ENGINE AND HE COULD HEAR A NOISE COMING FROM THE BACK OF THE ENGINE - HE TOLD ME THAT MY HEAD GASKETS WERE MOST LIKELY BLOWN. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP. THEY BLAMES THE WARRANTY COMPANY SAYING THAT IT WAS ''THEIR ENGINE AND THEY WOULD NOT PERMIT THEM TO REBUILD THE TRANSMISSION AS THEY REQUESTED''. I CONTACTED MY INSURANCE COMPANY THIS MORNING AND ADVISED THEM WHAT HAPPENED. THEY TOLD ME TO TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. I ADVISED LAZERO AT THE WARRANTY COMPANY I HAD DONE SOME RESEARCH AND I HAD FOUND OUT LAST NIGHT THAT CHRYSLER HAS HAD A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH MY ENGINE.

ON JANUARY 27, 2005, WHILE DRIVING ON A LOCAL INTERSTATE, THE AXLE BROKE, RACK AND PINION, AND THE CV JOINTS AND BOOTS ON MY 2002 DODGE CARAVAN WHICH WAS PURCHASED NEW, WHICH ALMOST CAUSED A HORRIBLE ACCIDENT AND GREAT BODILY HARM TO MY WIFE WHO WAS DRIVING, OUR CHILDREN AGES 6YRS AND 4YRS, AND OTHER TRAVELING VEHICLES IN HER PATH. I OWN A 2002 DODGE CARAVAN SE, WITH ROUGHLY 115,000 MILES ON IT. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT OF 55 MPH. THE WEATHER WAS FINE, NOT PARTICULARLY WINDY OR ANYTHING OF THAT NATURE. ALL OF A SUDDEN, I HEARD A LOUD POPPING SOUND. I LOOKED IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR JUST IN TIME TO SEE THE PASSENGER-SIDE BACK WINDOW IMPLODING INTO THE BACK OF THE VAN. IT WAS THE VERY BACK SIDE WINDOW, THE ONE THAT IS ABLE TO BE VENTED MANUALLY. IT WAS NOT VENTED AT THE TIME OF THE IMPLOSION. I HAD NOT SEEN ANY PROJECTILES SAILING THROUGH THE AIR THAT COULD'VE HIT THE WINDOW. I HAD NOT SEEN ANY CRACKS OR IMPERFECTIONS IN THE WINDOW. THE BIGGEST PROBLEM I AM FACING IS THAT THIS IS THE 2ND TIME GLASS HAS MYSTERIOUSLY BROKEN IN THE VEHICLE. I HEARD A "BANGING" NOISE WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 50 MPH. ALSO AT 19,000 MILES, THE DEALER HAD TO REPLACE THE "BUSHINGS AND LINKS" FOR THE FRONT END AND AGAIN AT 45,000 MILES TWO DAYS AGO. I AM STRATING TO WONDER IF THERE IS A DIRECT LINK BETWEEN THE TWO PARTS GOING PREMATURELY. I ALSO HAD TO REPLACE ALL FOUR TIRES BECAUSE DUE TO THE WEAR/TEAR ON THEM BECASUE THEY WERE UNSAFE. I OWN A 2002 DODGE CARAVAN SE 3.3 LITER ENGINE. SINCE I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE,(BOUGHT IN AUGUST 2003) I HAVE HAD TO BUY NEW TIRES, HAD TO HAVE THE TIRES ROTATED & BALANCED 4 TIMES AND BECAUSE OF THE POPPING NOISE HAVE TO HAVE THE SWAY BAR BUSHINGS REPLACED AND HAVE A NEW ROTOR AND BRAKES REPLACED. THE VIBRATION DUE TO THE BRAKES WEARING AND ROTORS IS UNREAL AND KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON HAVING THE BRAKE AND ROTOR PROBLEM. THERE HAS BEEN ONLY 15,000 MILES PUT ON THESE BRAKES AND ARE HAVING TO HAVE THEM REPLACED AGAIN. SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT AND THIS NEEDS TO BE CHECKED INTO. THANK YOU. *LA

THE FIRST FAILURE WAS THE AIRBAG LIGHT STAYING ON CONTINUELY. I HAD IT REPAIRED A FEW MONTHS AFTER BUYING THE VEHICLE NEW. LESS THAN SIX MONTHS LATER, THE LIGHT STAYED ON AGAIN. WE HAD MOVED TO ASHLAND AND IT WAS REPAIRED THERE. WITHIN A WEEK OF HAVING IT REPAIRED, I TRIED TO USE MY HORN AND IT DID NOT WORK. THEY COULDN'T FIX IT AT MY CONVIENCE, SO I HAD TO WAIT A FEW WEEKS TO GET IT REPAIRS. NOW, MY WINDOWS SOMETIMES GO UP AND DOWN AND SOMETIMES THEY DO NOT. MY VAN IS LESS THAN 2 YEARS OLD AND ALREADY, I HAVE HAD TO BORROW SOMEONES CAR BECAUSE MINE WAS IN THE SHOP. THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN WITH A NEW VAN WITH LESS THAN 25,000 MILES ON IT. PROBLEMS WITH TRANSMISSION SLIPPING ON VEHICLE.*MR THE TRANSMISSION AND THE COMPUTER SYSTEM THAT CONTROLLED THE TRANSMISSION ENCOUNTERED NUMEROUS PROBLEMS. THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN AND THE TRANSMISSION DID NOT CHANGE GEARS PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS ON THREE OCCASIONS FOR THE TRANSMISSION BUT TO DATE THE PROBLEMS STILL EXIST. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE SPEEDOMETER FAILED. *NLM
