WIRELESS IGNITION NODE MODULE RECALL. DEALER ADVISES I MUST BE PUT ON A WAITING LIST AND THAT IT WILL BE MONTHS BEFORE HE WILL HAVE THE PARTS BECAUSE THE COMPANY WILL ONLY SHIP ONE PART AT A TIME. HE SAID THEY WOULD NOT SHIP THE QUANTITY THAT HE NEEDED. THIS SHOULD BE UNACCEPTABLE IF IT A SAFETY ISSUE! PARTS ARE MASS PRODUCED TO MEET AUTO MANUFACTURERS NEEDS. ASSEMBLY LINES DO NOT WAIT ON PARTS TO BE SHIPPED ONE AT A TIME!!!!!

2009 DODGE CARAVAN WILL NOT HOLD A CHARGE. BATTERY HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE SINCE DECEMBER 2014. HAVE HAD THE VAN IN THE SHOP FOR EXTENSIVE WORK ON THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, WITH NO LUCK. I HAVE TO JUMP START MY VAN "EVERY DAY" TO USE IT. STARTED IN SEPT 2014. DEC 30, 2014 MY HUSBAND HAD A MASSIVE STROKE, AND HAS HAD EXTENSIVE HOSPITALIZATION AND CARE. HE IS MUCH BETTER, BUT PARALYZED ON ONE SIDE. THIS MAKES IT VERY INCONVENIENT TO LEAVE FOR APPOINTMENTS, SHOPPING, ETC.

THIS IS THE SECOND (TPMS) TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR THAT HAS SNAPPED OFF IN MY HANDS AS I WAS ATTEMPTING TO PUT AIR INTO A LOW TIRE. THESE THINGS ARE DANGEROUS AS THE METAL FATIGUES WITHOUT WARNING OR VISIBLE EVIDENCE OF SUCH. ESPECIALLY LIVING IN AN AREA LIKE MINE, WHERE ROAD SALT, MOISTURE,ICE AND SNOW AND CHANGES IN TEMPERATURE OCCUR REGULARLY THESE SENSORS CAN CAUSE A SUDDEN DEFLATION OF A TIRE IF THEY BREAK WHICH MIGHT LEAD TO A CATASTROPHIC CRASH. LUCKILY FOR ME THE TWO TIMES IT HAS OCCURRED IT HAS HAPPENED IN MY DRIVEWAY. HOWEVER, BOTH TIMES IT NECESSITATED JACKING MY VEHICLE UP WITH FULL LOADS AND ON UNEVEN GROUND, DANGEROUS IN ITSELF.

THE VALVE STEMS FAILED.. NUTS FOR BOTH FRONT VALVE STEMS ROTTED OFF CAUSING VALVE STEMS TO FALL INTO TIRES LOSING ALL TIRE PRESSURE WITHIN SECONDS..THIS HAPPEN WITH BOTH FRONT TIRES AT DIFFERENT TIMES.THE FIRST TIME I LOST PRESSURE THE LIGHT CAME ON SO I STOPPED AT A GAS STATION AND WENT TO PUT AIR IN THE TIRE AND THE VALVE STEM FELL INTO THE TIRE LOSING ALL PRESSURE IMMEDIATELY AND I WAS LEFT WITH A FLAT. AAA CAME AND PUT ON SPARE AND SAID THE NUT ON THE VALVE STEM WAS GONE AND SAID IT LOOKED LIKE IT CORRODED AND FELL OFF.THE SECOND ONE WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE...MY CHILDREN AND I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED IF I DIDN'T PULL OVER IMMEDIATELY! THE MECHANIC SAID THE SAME THING THAT THE NUT WAS MISSING AND THE VALVE STEM ACTUALLY WAS BROKE IN HALF. THIS SHOULD BE AN IMMEDIATE RECALL ON THESE VALVE STEMS! EXAMINATION AFTERWARDS BY THE DEALER REVEALED THE PROBABLE CAUSE WAS PART OF THE TIRE PRESSURE VALVE WAS MISSING DUE TO THE VALVE STEM BREAKING. TRIP TO ER AND CT SCAN REVEALED NO CONCUSSION, NO RUPTURED EARDRUMS AND NO OTHER SERIOUS INJURIES. ACCIDENT OCCURRED 13 DAYS AGO AND THERE HAS BEEN NO IMPROVEMENT IN HER HEARING, THE LOSS OF WHICH IS MORE PRONOUNCED IN LEFT EAR AND INCLUDES A CONSTANT RINGING. SHE IS AWAITING A JAN. 2019 APPT. EVERY TIME I USED MY VEHICLE, MY KEY WOULD GET STUCK FORCING ME TO PULL THE FUSE SO THE KEY WOULD RELEASE. I GOT THE RECALL COMPLETED ON FEBRUARY 18, 2016 TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM FAILED AND THE FUEL INJECTOR, PUMP AND MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. WHILE DRIVING 55MPH ON I75 IN CINCINNATI,OH, THE ENGINE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO GET THE VEHICLE TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE BRAKES COULD ONLY BE MOVED WITH GREAT EFFORT. THE VEHICLE MUST BE IN THE PARKED GEAR SHIFT POSITION BEFORE IT CAN BE RESTARTED THUS THE NECESSITY TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY SO AS TO AVOID A REAR END COLLISION. WHEN GETTING TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD THE STEERING FEELS LIKE IT IS LOCKED. THIS SUDDEN ENGINE SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE OVER THE LAST APPROX. 2 1/2 YRS. THE DEALER DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX THE SUDDEN ENGINE SHUT OFF PROBLEM. THIS LEAVES ME WITH A VEHICLE THAT APPEARS TO BE TOO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE. IN ADDITION, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND WASHER FLUID MOTOR INDEPENDENTLY ACTIVATED SIMULTANEOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. MOST PREVALENT WHEN PARKED ON AN INCLINE FACING UPWARDS AS WEIGHT OF DOOR ON PIVOT POINT BRINGS DOOR EVEN CLOSER TO BODY RESULTING IN IMPACT AND SCRATCHES. HAS BEEN "REPAIRED" BY DODGE 3 TIMES NOW ON MY VEHICLE ALONE. HAS RESULTED IN MY CASE WITH DODGE SENDING VAN IN FOR BODYWORK TO HAVE DENTS PULLED AND FILLED, NEW PAINT AND RENTAL VEHICLES SUPPLIED FREE UNDER WARRANTY FOR SEVERAL DAYS EVERY TIME. CONTROL ARMS HAVE BEEN REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES AND HAVE ALSO BEEN ADJUSTED SEVERAL TIMES BUT PROBLEM CONTINUES. THIS HAS BEEN NOTICED WITH ALMOST EVERY OTHER DODGE CARAVAN EVER SEEN MODEL YEARS 2009-2010. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 DODGE CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN THROUGH TWO SETS OF TIRES IN LESS THAN 29,000 MILES. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE STEERING WAS DEFECTIVE. WHENEVER THE VEHICLE HIT A BUMP OR POTHOLE, THE VEHICLE SWAYED SIDE TO SIDE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS FINE BUT A LOCAL MECHANIC STATED THAT THE STEERING AND ALIGNMENT WAS OFF. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MECHANIC COULD FIGURE OUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION PULLED FORWARD AND SEEMED TO LET GO WHEN IDLING. THE VEHICLE WOULD HESITATE WHEN THE CONTACT TRIED TO ACCELERATE. THE FAILURE SEEMED TO BE CORRECTED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. 2009 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN (STOW AND GO) EXTREME HEAT AND STRONG SMELL OF OVERHEATED BRAKES COMING MOSTLY FROM REAR BRAKES. THE HEAT GENERATED IN AN AVERAGE 16 MILE DRIVE UNDER NORMAL OPERATING CONDITIONS CAUSES ENOUGH HEAT AND STRONG BRAKE SMELL THAT YOU CAN HARDLY TOUCH THE PLASTIC HUBCAP MOUNTED ON THE STEEL WHEELS. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE HAS NEVER BEEN USED AND HAS NEVER BEEN ACTIVATED ACCIDENTALLY. THE SMELL CAN BE NOTICED ALL THE WAY AROUND THE VEHICLE FROM INSIDE AND OUTSIDE PARTICULARLY IN THE REAR. I AM RETIRED ASE CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN WITH 45 ASE CERTIFICATIONS AND 50 YEARS IN THE PROFESSION. I WOULD SUSPECT RESIDUAL VALVE IN MASTER CYLINDER, STICKING CALIPERS, OR PARKING BRAKE COMPONENTS.
