TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THEIR VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. THEY JUMP STARTED THE VEHICLE AND IT WAS ABLE TO RESTART. THE FOLLOWING DAY THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT REPLACED THE BATTERY AND THE VEHICLE WAS THEN ABLE TO START. HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WAS UNABLE TO BE UNLOCKED. THE CONTACT HAD TO GET A NEW KEY MADE. THE LOCKSMITH THAT MADE THE NEW KEY JUMP STARTED THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WENT TO WORK, WHEN THEY LEFT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AGAIN. THEY HOOKED THE BATTERY UP TO A BATTERY CHARGER AND THE BATTERY WAS DRAINED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN (THE CONTACT CAN'T GET INSIDE THE VEHICLE).

HORN DOES NOT WORK WHEN PRESSING THE CORRECT AREA ON THE STEERING WHEEL. STEERING WHEEL LIGHTS DO NOT WORK AND HEATED STEERING WHEEL DOES NOT WORK. FUSES CHECK OUT OK. HORN SOUNDS WHEN LOCKING WITH KEY FOB OR WHEN ALARM BUTTON ON KEY FOB IS USED. DISCOVERED WHEN ANOTHER DRIVER TURNED IN FRONT OF ME WITHOUT LOOKING AND NEARLY CRASHED. I WAS IN THE DRIVEWAY THE FIRST TIME ACTED LIKE IT WAS GOING TO START THEN DIED ALL LIGHTS ON PANEL LITE UP HAD TOWED TO GALEANA DODGE FOUND IT WAS THE TIPM MODULE. COST OVER $1,000 TO FIX. TRIED TALKING TO DODGE CORPORATE TO TRY TO GET MONEY BACK AFTER NOTICING SO MANY COMPLAINTS AND NO HELP FROM THEM. NOW MY CAR IS BACK IN THE SHOP WITH SAME ISSUE, 3 WEEKS LATER. NO LOANER CAR AVAILABLE. MY ONLY VEHICLE. THIS TIME I WAS DRIVING AND THE CAR STALLED AND THEN ALL THE LIGHTS CAME ON AGAIN. WAITING TO HEAR WHAT IS THIS TIME SOUNDS LIKE THE SAME THING AGAIN. MY VAN SHOWED THE BATTERY LIGHT I WENT TO GET THE BATTERY CHECKED OUT. THE TEST CAME BACK BAD BATTERY. I BOUGHT A NEW ONE EVERYTHING CHECKED GOOD. THE NEXT DAY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, AIR BAG LIGHT, ABS LIGHT AND BATTERY LIGHT LIT UP. AFTER THAT THE VAN WOULD NOT START. WE CHECKED FUSES THEY WERE GOOD. THE VAN WILL NOT START, IT WILL CRANK LIKE TRYING TO START BUT WILL NOT. WE ONLY HAVE 55000 MILES ON IT AND ARE BEING TOLD THE ROOM IS BAD.

I BOUGHT MY 2012 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN IN MARCH OF 2012, AND BY THE END OF THAT SAME YEAR HAD TO HAVE NEW TIRE PUT ON THE FRONT OF THE VAN, (THEY WERE COMPLETELY WORN). I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE ELECTRONIC DRIVERS SET NOT WORKING IN FACT HAS NOT WORKED PROPERLY SINCE I HAVE HAD THE VAN, AND WHEN I TOOK IT TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT THEY OF COURSE COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG, TO THIS DATE IT IS STUCK IN THE SAME POSITION AND WILL NOT MOVE. THE SLIDING AUTOMATIC DOORS, AT TIMES DO NOT WORK FOR GREAT PERIODS OF TIME AND SOUND VERY GRINDING WHEN THEY ARE WORKING. THEN WITH IN THOSE SAME FEW MONTHS IN 2012 THE VAN STARTED TO RUST INSIDE THE GAS DOOR. IT HAS BEEN FIXED TWICE ALREADY AT DEALERSHIP AND STILL RUSTS! I HAVE ALSO HAD TO REPLACE THE BREAKS AND ROTORS ON THE BACK AND NOW THEY ARE NEEDING TO BE DONE ON THE FRONT. I HAVE APPROX. 30,000 MILES ON MY VAN. THE OTHER COMPLAINT WITH VAN IS THE LACK OF A/C POWER, AND THAT IT SOMETIMES FEELS THAT THE ENGINE IS BOGGED DOWN WITH NO LOAD, OR IS HESITANT JERKY.

WAS ABLE TO GET THE VAN INTO NETUREL AND RESTARTED WHILE THE VAN WAS COASTING WITHOUT POWER. IT WAS A GOOD THING I DIDNT HAVE ANYONE FOLLOWING TOO CLOSELY. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN PULLED OUT OF THE GARAGE PUT IN PARK, TURNED OFF BUT DID HAVE THE KEY LEFT IN IT. THIS WAS INTENDED TO ONLY TAKE A MOMENT WHILE WE MOVED A LAWN TRACTOR INTO THE GARAGE AHEAD OF THE PARKING SPOT FOR THE MINIVAN. WHILE WE WERE BUSY MOVING THE LAWN TRACTOR THE MINIVAN ROLLED ABOUT 30 YARDS AWAY FROM WHERE IT HAD BEEN PARKED. IT SETTLED ON SOME ROCKS RESULTING IN DAMAGE TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONCERNING PART OF THIS INCIDENT WAS THAT THE VAN WAS STILL IN PARK AND TURNED OFF WHEN IT LANDED ON THE ROCKS. I HAVE BROUGHT THIS INCIDENT TO THE ATTENTION OF CHRYSLER AND AFTER THEIR INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE THEY FOUND "NO EVIDENCE OF A MALFUNCTION WHICH WOULD CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO MOVE BY ITSELF." NEXT BAD WHEEL BEARING. THE EXTENDE WARRANTY IS STILL VALID. I NOW PAY FOR ALL NON WARRANTY SERVICE OUTSIDE OF SPITZER BECAUSE I FEAR FOR MY SAFTY WHEN SPITZER PERFORM WORK ON MY VAN. OK. I NEVER KNEW THOSE THINGS COULD HAPPEN TO THIS VEHICLE. ALSO THE ALARM NO LONGER WORKS AFTER 2 YEARS. I HAVE TO TAKE THE KEY OUT JUST TO OPEN THE VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN THE NEXT DAY BUT, ALTHOUGH GAS PEDAL WAS STUCK TO FLOOR, THE VEHICLE SLOWED TO ABOUT 60. EXITED HIGHWAY TO SERVICE AREA WITH PEDAL STILL STUCK AT FT & SHUT DOWN. CAR WOULDN'T RESTART WITH PEDAL AT FT. AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES, THE PEDAL "POPPED" BACK AND RESTARTED WITH NORMAL OPERATION THEREAFTER. I EACH INSTANCE THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS PROBABLY ON AND A LARGE RED SYMBOL APPEARED ON THE ANNUNCIATOR PANEL WHICH EXTINGUISHED WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL " POPPED" BACK UP. I HAVE A DODGE CARAVAN 2012 AND TAKING IT IN FOR SEVERAL ELECTRICAL ISSUES. WHEN IT WAS SENT TO THE DALLAS DODGE IN DALLAS, GA THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH CAR KILLING TWO BRAND NEW BATTERIES. BROUGHT A THIRD ONE AND FINALLY CALL TO HAVE IT PICKED UP SO THEY COULD CHECK IT.HE THEN CALLED ME AND SAID IT WAS THE DRIVER SEAT WIRING SYSTEMS AND TO FIX IT WOULD BY $500.00. I ADVISED HIM IF THAT WAS THE ISSUE AND IT WOULD BE WORKING PROPERLY GO AHEAD.I PICKED UP MY CAR AND GOT IT HOME. THE NEXT MORNING THE BATTERY WAS DEAD. SO I HAD IT SENT BACK TO THEM AND THEY CHECK IT AGAIN AND DID NOT FIND ANYTHING. I GOT IT BACK THE NEXT DAY WHICH WAS A SATURDAY AFTER SITTING THERE MAKING SURE THEY CHECK EVERYTHING. BASICALLY THEY SAID THE BATTERY WAS DEAD AND NOTHING WAS WRONG. I TOLD THEM IF I HAD ANY ISSUES I WOULD BRING IT BACK ON MONDAY. I ADVISED I WILL REMOVE THE BATTERY CABLE TO AT LEAST GO TO CHURCH THE NEXT DAY. WHEN I GOT HOME FROM CHURCH I DID NOT TAKE CABLE OFF AND BATTERY DIED AGAIN. SO ON MONDAY 8/17, I WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN. THEY SAID THE PUT IT ON A COMPUTER SYSTEM FOR SEVERAL HOURS AND ONLY NOTICE THAT MY BATTERY WAS HAVE WAY DRAINED. I STILL NO ANSWERS TO WHAT CAUSED IT TO DRAIN. I NOTICE THAT A MOTOR IN THE REAR AREA WOULD NOT STOP RUNNING. THE CAR WOULD COMPLETELY TURNED OFF. NO WE NOTICE THAT WE HAVING DELAYS IN STARTING THE CAR LIKE FUEL IS NOT GET THE ENGINE. AFTER A COUPLE OF MINUTES TRYING TO START, IT WOULD STALL OUT AND THEN FINALLY START. SO AGAIN I HAD TO TAKE BATTERY CABLE OFF UNTIL THE NEXT FOLLOWING MONDAY - 8/24, I THIS TIME THEY ADVISED ME IT WAS THE TIMP MODULE AND IT WILL COST ME $1000 TO FIX IT. ME AND FAMILY DON'T FEEL SAFE IN THE CAR, NOW WE ARE EXPERIENCING STALLING WHILE WE ARE DRIVING. THIS IS NOT GOOD SERVICE IF YOU KNOW THERE IS AN ISSUE AND THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS PART.

I PURCHASED A NEW VAN ON JULY 5, 2013. ON JULY 8, 2013, I DROVE 4 MILES, AND STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. I ACCELERATED TO APPROX. 40 MPH, WHEN SUDDENLY THE VAN SHIFTED TO THE RIGHT MOMENTARILY, UPON WHICH I REGAINED CONTROL IMMEDIATELY. SUDDENLY, THE VAN JOLTED RIGHT AGAIN, JUMPED THE CURB, CLIMBED AN EMBANKMENT, AND WOULD NOT STOP ACCELERATING. I KEPT PUSHING THE EMC CONTROLS FORWARD....BUT IT WOULD NOT STOP THE VEHICLE. IT IS NOT THAT THE VEHICLE KEPT ACCELERATING, BUT RATHER, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP ACCELERATING. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE ONLY STOPPED WHEN I CRASHED THROUGH A LARGE EVERGREEN TREE (FRONT RIGHT PASSENGER AREA). THE VAN CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE UNTIL I RAN HEAD FIRST INTO A HARDWARE STORE, WHICH ULTIMATELY STOPPED THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS AN ANALYSIS PERFORMED, AND I EXPRESSED GREAT CONCERN OVER THE LACK OF INFORMATION DISCLOSED IN THE REPORT. THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED ON JULY 8, 2013. TODAY IS DECEMBER 31, 2013, AND I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT IT IS TAKING THIS LONG TO REPLACE A NEW VAN. THERE WAS INFORMATION DISCOVERED FROM THE INITIAL MECHANIC WHO RECEIVED THE VAN AFTER THE ACCIDENT, INCLUSIVE OF PHOTOGRAPHS, WHO WAS TOLD BY ADJUSTERS TO WITHHOLD AND NOT DISCLOSE THE NOTED INFORMATION. THIS CONCERNS ME GREATLY. I DO NOT WANT ANOTHER PERSON TO ENDURE WHAT I ENDURED, OR WORSE, AN INNOCENT PERSON HURT BY EQUIPMENT, OR INSTALLATION OF EQUIPMENT, THAT MAY CAUSE A DRIVER NOT TO HAVE CONTROL OVER HIS/HER VEHICLE. IN THE REPORT, THE SPECIALIST USED LANGUAGE INDICATING THAT THE DRIVER "LOST CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE." THAT IS A COMPLETELY ERRONEOUS STATEMENT. THE PROBLEM IS AUTONOMOUS ACCELERATION. WHEN MY CAR IS MOVING SLOWLY AT IDLE SPEED WHILE I'M PULLING INTO OR OUT OF A PARKING SPACE OR MY HOME GARAGE AND I APPLY PRESSURE TO THE STEERING WHEEL TO GUIDE THE CAR, THE ENGINE RPM SPEED SURGES BY ABOUT 400 RPMS CAUSING THE CAR TO SUDDENLY ACCELERATE FORWARD OR BACKWARD, DEPENDING ON THE GEAR SELECTION. THIS HAS CAUSED A NUMBER OF NEAR ACCIDENTS, INCLUDING NEARLY STRIKING CHILDREN AT AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL WHEN I WAS PICKING UP MY GRANDDAUGHTER. I REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO THE LOCAL DODGE DEALER, BUT THE DEALER FOUND NO PROBLEM AFTER CHECKING THE CAR. YET, THE PROBLEM PERSISTED INTERMITTENTLY, BUT I LEARNED TO "LIVE WITH IT."
