How to read a Entegra Accolade VIN — every digit explained

Every Entegra Accolade carries a unique 17-character VIN stamped at the factory. Each position is a code — together they spell out where, when and how your car was built. Here's exactly what every digit means.

1–3 · WMI4T1
4–8 · VDSBF1FK
9 · Check5
10 · YearH
11 · PlantU
12–17 · Serial123456
  • WMI (1–3) — country & manufacturer. 4T1 = Toyota, built in the USA.
  • VDS (4–8) — model line, body style, engine & restraint system.
  • Check digit (9) — a math check that proves the VIN is genuine.
  • Model year (10) — the year it was built. H = 2017.
  • Plant (11) — which factory assembled this Accolade.
  • Serial (12–17) — the unique sequential production number.

Model-year code (10th digit)

The 10th character is the model year. It cycles through letters and numbers, skipping I, O, Q, U, Z and 0 to avoid confusion:

H2017 J2018 K2019 L2020 M2021 N2022 P2023 R2024 S2025 T2026

Where to find your Accolade VIN

  • Dashboard — driver's side, visible through the windshield from outside.
  • Driver's door jamb — on the manufacturer sticker when you open the door.
  • Paperwork — vehicle registration, title and insurance card.
  • Engine bay & frame — stamped on the firewall or chassis on many models.

The mirrors do not extend out far enough to adequately see down the sides of the vehicle. You mostly see the flat part of the rv that juts out before it makes the turn down the side. In my research which has been a conversation on-line with a few other owners. One owner made the comment that some of these Ford F600’s come with short mirrors and others that have extended arms. The comment was there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why that’s the way it is. One owner went and bought the Ford oem extended arm mirrors. $500 each out of his own pocket. I do intend to contact Entegra. This for sure is an accident waiting to happen.

2020 Accolade

The contact owns a 2020 Freightliner M2. The contact stated that while driving approximately 10 - 15 MPH and pulling out of the parking lot, the rear passenger’s side window above the kitchen sink started detaching from the vehicle. While driving approximately 60 MPH, the window detached from the vehicle. The contact became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V337000 (Visibility), and linked the failure to the recall. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000.

2021 Accolade

The contact owns a 2021 Entegra Accolade RV. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the coach was flexing abnormally. The contact heard abnormal popping sounds from where the coach was attached to the RV cockpit. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the RV to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the screws used to attach the coach to the cockpit were undersized and needed to be replaced. The RV was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 14,000.

We’ve adjusted and tried about everything except for a magnet only available by manufacture if under warranty. Wheels 14% 1 Read
2023 Accolade

The mud flaps installed in front of the rear wheels were only fastened at the outer side of the mud flap. The metal subframe has holes for fasteners, however, there is NO evidence that ANY fasteners have ever been attached on the top of the mud flap frame to secure it properly. This results in the mud flaps swinging in and rubbing against the inner tire on both sides of the vehicle. Based on the draft under the vehicle this rubbing can be relatively constant at highway speed. Our vehicle has approximately 18,000 miles on it as our use model results in lots of highway travel. The damage to the tires was noted by the dealer when the unit was in for an unrelated item. The passenger side inner rear tire has been severely damaged by the metal frame for the mud flap wearing into the tread on the tire. Both side mud flaps are significantly worn away. The safety aspect of this is that the tires are being damaged/compromised and may result in a failure at highway speed which could result in damage to the vehicle, other vehicles, injuries or possibly even death of occupants. As this is a failure in manufacturing/assembly and/or quality of build review, it may be widespread across the Entegra (manufactured by Jayco) Accolade and sister models of the Jayco Seneca. This deficiency may also not be noticed by many owners until long after the original warranty period, resulting in significant cost that is really the result of OEM manufacturing/assembly failures. Recommend that ALL related models - Accolade / Seneca on similar chassis must be inspected and the installation corrected as required.
