A software error may cause intermittent or continuous disruptions in communication between the Body Control Module (BCM) and other components. This may result in malfunctions of various systems such as the windshield wipers and defroster, rearview camera, exterior lights, audible warning of a stopped vehicle, and power window operation. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 103, "Windshield Defrosting and Defogging Systems" and number 111, "Rear Visibility" as well as FMVSS numbers 104, 108, 114, 118, and 305.

The accessory was designed specifically for model year 2008-2010 honda accord 4-door vehicles. It is possible for the nose mask material to interfere with part of the hood latch. If the hood has not been completely closed and the nose mask interferes with the secondary hood latch mechanism the hood may pop open while the vehicle being driven.

The outer race of the secondary shaft bearing may be broken during certain driving styles. A broken outer race may cause abnormal noise, the malfunction indicator light to turn on, and allow contact between the transmission idle gear and an electronic sensor housing within the transmission.

Risk. This could result in a short circuit causing the engine to stall. Additionally, broken pieces of the outer race or ball bearing from the secondary shaft may become lodged in the parking pawl resulting in the vehicle rolling after the driver has placed the gear selector in the park position. Engine stall and unexpected vehicle movement increases the risk of a crash or personal injury to persons within the path of a rolling vehicle.

In May 2012, Honda filed a defect report to recall certain model year 2007 and 2008 Acura TL vehicles. In September 2012, Honda informed the agency that it was including an additional 573,147 vehicles including certain model year 2003 through 2007 Accord V6 vehicles. The total number of vehicles being recalled is now 625,762. Prolonged under-hood and power steering fluid temperatures may cause the power steering hose to deteriorate prematurely, resulting in cracks and power steering fluid leakage.

Risk. If this occurs, power steering fluid can leak onto a hot catalytic converter, leading to smoke and possibly an under-hood fire.

Fix. Honda will notify owners, and dealers will install a new heat resistant power steering hose, free of charge. The original recall began in June 2012, and owners of those vehicles may obtain the free remedy. What's wrong. The front safety belt buckle release buttons can break. These red plastic release buttons are marked "press." if a button breaks, pieces can fall into the buckle assembly causing the buckle to operate improperly.

Risk. The safety belts would not provide adequate protection to an occupant in a vehicle crash.

Fix. Owners should promptly check the condition and operation of both front safety belt buckles. Carefully inspect the red release button for any breaks or cracks. Check that both buckles are operating properly by inserting each latch plate into its buckle, tug on the belt to make sure the latch is securely locked, then press the release button. The latch plate should pop out of the buckle when the button is pressed. If either release button shows any sign of breakage or cracking, or if either buckle fails to operate properly, promptly contact your authorized honda/acura dealer to schedule an appointment to have the buckle replaced or repaired, free of charge. 2003 Accord

Takata recall (possibly?). I was in a car accident on june 21, 2018, in my 2003 honda accord coupe driver side airbag did not deploy. I was driving on a city street, the road was wet, and i was going around a curve in the road (going about 40 mph). My car lost traction and fish tailed, then ended up slamming into a telephone pole with the passenger side being impacted first. The passenger side door airbag went off, but my driver side airbag did not deploy, and because i was not wearing my seatbelt my face smacked into the steering wheell. I had to get stitches on my chin, lip, and nose. I also had to get my front left tooth extracted, and suffered a deviated septum and road rash from the impact.

2002 Accord

My uncle was traveling on a state highway when his 02 honda hydroplaned on a rainy afternoon and hit head on with another vehicle. My three month old daughter sustained severe head trauma and died at the hospital a little later. Eleven days later my uncle died from severe bleeding and brain damage. Honda said nothing was wrong with this car. My daughter who was 2 at the time was a passenger along with two other cousins, they all came out fine. Now 6 years later we received a recall notice about the airbags and i'm concerned that this vehicle was not safe enough and could have been the main result in my daughters death. *tr

Srs light on 1997 honda accord coming on. Diagnosed for $85. Battery replaced. A week later it came back on and stayed on. After another $85, told that srs system is bad, and it will be $830 to replace. I see on the internet that this is a common problem, and learn that the replacement part is upgraded. I bought the honda because of its high reliability and would appreciate being refunded by honda. *jb

Tl* the contact owns a 2002 honda accord. While driving approximately 40 mph, the contact crashed into the rear of another vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The driver and front passenger sustained head injuries. The passengers in the rear sustained neck and leg injuries. The vehicle sustained extensive front end damage. It was unknown if medical attention was required. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. Prior to the incident, the vehicle was taken to the dealer for an air bag inspection where the dealer stated that the air bags were functioning. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. 2020 Accord

The contact owns a 2020 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving at 25 MPH, the front driver's side air bag, the front passenger's side air bag, and the knee air bags were deployed unintendedly. Additionally, there was a significant amount of chemical smoke inside the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that she depressed the brake pedal to stop and exit the vehicle, but the vehicle failed to respond. The contact stated that the vehicle rolled for 30-40 seconds and stopped after hitting a bicycle pole. The contact stated that the front passenger's side seat was occupied by an adult and the rear seats were occupied by an adult and a baby in the car seat when the failure occurred. The passengers sustained body aches and ringing ears but did not seek medical assistance. The contact stated that she parked the vehicle, and then all the passengers and she exited the vehicle for a moment. No police report was filed. The contact then drove to the residence. The vehicle was towed to the dealer to be diagnosed and repaired under warranty; however, the dealer informed the contact that they would not service the vehicle under warranty because they believed the air bags deployed due to an impact. The dealer then towed the vehicle to an autobody repair shop. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V064000(Air Bags), which she related to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was unknown.

2002 Accord

My wife and i purchased a new honda accord to be used by our 21-year old son who is attending college at brigham young university. On saturday, dec. 15, 2001 he along with 3 other college students were in the car on the freeway. They were traveling in the fast lane at around 70 miles per hour., another car going the same direction lost control (reason unknown), spun out across the freeway, hit the center divider and stopped directly in the path of our son. Naturally he hit his brakes, but it happened so fast that there was nothing they could do except hit the other car head-on at about 60 miles per hour. All four of the parties in our car were wearing their seat belts, which probably saved their lives. However, the air bags did not deploy. It is a miracle that someone wasn't severly injured. While all of the parties had some whip lash, no one had to go to the hospital. Someone told my son that because he hit his brakes the front end of our honda was lowered and went underneath the bumper of the car they hit, which was a larger suv and thats why the airbags didn't deploy. I thought airbags deployed on impact to provide the protection they are designed to provide. The police report indicated that the driver of the suv who spun out was at fault. While we are really glad that our son and his friends were not severly injured i have concern for someone else who may not be as lucky. I hope this information is helpful. I did contact honda motor cars to file a complaint. About all they did was take my information, send me information on airbags and tell me to contact my insurance company. My mother had picked up my niece from her school and was waiting for my nephew and his friend to get out of high school. When ready to go, the car was difficult to start. Took about 10 min to get the car to start. After the car started, went into reverse and backed out of the parking space. Put the car in drive and it "chugged" a couple of times. Then the car accelerated unexpectedly. She was unable to slow the car down by applying the brakes. The car traveled 460 feet accelerating the whole time.the approximate speed of the car was between 60-80 mph. At the end of the parking lot, she turned left and the car hit a curb launching them into a pole that holds up the chain link fencing around the school. They went thru the fencing and into the block wall behind it coming to rest there. All 4 occupants were seen by a doctor and released that day. My mother has numerous cuts and bruises. My nephew shoulder and back are hurting him. My niece has scrapes on the right arm from the block wall. My nephews friend has a black eye. *tr

2014 Accord

Driver entered car after grocery shopping. Car was put into drive and light accelerator pressure was applied appropriate for moving out of the parking space. Car proceeded to advance slowly at first but suddenly accelerated. The amount of rapid and sudden acceleration was inconsistent and disproportionate with the amount of pressure and effort that was applied to the accelerator when advancing from the parking space. Three (3) pedestrians were either hit directly by the car or the resultant debris from the accident. Two (2) required medical care/hospitalization. Additionally there was significant property damage to the grocery store and vehicle. The cost to repair damage to the vehicle has been appraised at about $9,500. The extent and nature of injuries to pedestrians and damage to building has not yet been determined. The 2014 honda accord according to public nhtsa database reporting has experienced at least 17 sudden acceleration events (sae) attributed to failed vehicle speed control with strikingly similar circumstances. According to nhtsa public reportings honda has been notified of some of these 17 saes. The saes are not limited to just 2014 honda accords. It has been reported in other model years in 9th generation accords. The 2014 honda accords are part of the 9th generation honda accords from (2013 to 2017) in north america. Request nhtsa investigate sudden acceleration events in 9th generation honda accords (2013 to 2017) in north america. There are significant number of instances of sae to observe a clear and present pattern to warrant an in-dept investigation. There have been prior instances of honda recalling vehicles due to sae.

2021 Accord

This vehicles have a engineering flaw in the design of the head gasket failing prematurely disabling all components of vehicle at any given time wether it’s in the highway or local the car will basically shut itself down causing a major risk for the driver and civilians even death. This is a safety hazard, tragedy waiting to happen y’all should act now theirs multiple and quiet frankly the Corporation should be taking care of it since they are still allowing them out on the road even with knowledge of this issue the customer should not loose their life nor money to a mass production engineering flaw that’s is over seen by NHTSA, HONDA. I got in to an accident due to my vehicle not being at 100% because of the head gasket issue the cars availability to detect or use its components, mechanically or electrical.

2018 Accord

May 13th, 2018 driving on the highway doing 50-55 going eastbound on the bay bridge in san francisco -'out of no where' the electric parking brake came on! And i didn't push no buttons! Not quite sure of the malfunctioning, but it cost an accident' cause someone hit me from behind! Also my airbags didn't deploy, but when honda link assistant called and we was told- 'they sense an accident cause of deployed airbags.' i'm afraid to drive a car that nearly killed us.

2013 Accord

2013 Accord

While coming to a stop in my parking spot, i applied the brake and the vehicle suddenly accelerated, with engine surge /loud noise and there were no brakes...... Car plowed over parking spot barrier, into shrubs, balcony beam and neighbor's screened patio. There is considerable damage to my vehicle , shrubs, neighbor's patio and my balcony. This was a terrifying event. Investigations by insurance co and mechanic are pending at this time. *tr

2009 Accord

Engine surged and vehicle sped up, on it's own, when pulling into a parking lot. Vehicle collided with boulders and railroad ties causing damage to the front, rear, undercarriage, and ruptured the fuel tank. When the vehicle came to rest, people were yelling for the occupants to "get out" of the vehicle, because fuel was gushing all over the ground. Driver is 84 and passenger is 82. Both sustained injuries to their spines and driver is still in the hospital as of 3/8/2015. Needless to say, this could have been much worse. *tr

In 2010 i purchased a 2007 honda accord. Price of the vehicle was 18000. In the city of selma, at selma dealership. I was not informed that both sides of the airbags didn't work. In 2012 or 2013 i call the honda corporate office and informed them that my airbags didn't work. The supervisor at the time did nothing when i had filed a complaint against the company. I also went to the dealership in semla where i brought the car, and they informed me that nothing they could do about it. Sometime in 2016 i went to a paint shop and couldn't get the vehicle painted because of the defected airbags. Macco paint shop showed me a document where my honda 2007 had a recalled on airbags. In 2017 some documents came where they where suing honda for the defect airbags, i sign documents to receive five-hundred no later than feb. 2018. I have not received any money and i sure have .

Unintended acceleration. 2016 honda accord, 9200 miles. On 7/14/17 i pulled into the parking lot of my local drugstore. I located a parking spot, and was slowly turning right to pull into the parking space when my engine revved, the car accelerated, up over the concrete curb, over bike rack and into the side of the brick building. By this time, both of my feet were on the brake but the car did not stop. The airbag deployed. I turned the car off. Police were called and an accident report was taken. I contacted honda america and they assigned me a case manager, who returned my call and took all information. Honda sent a field representative to examine the car at the body shop. After this the case manager called me to let me know honda found nothing wrong with the car, followed by a letter to confirm that. My foot was not in the accelerator at the time of the crash. Body: the tension bar does not open the car trunk lid all the way which more often drops down and hit the person's head or face who is putting stuffs in the trunk assuming it is fully open all the way. I did got hit twice by the corner and edge of the trunk lid on the forehead and left temple. The latter caused bruise and pain that took me a week to recover. Should change weak tension bar to strong gas tube operation. Engine: the car vibrates and rattles upon putting on reverse gear even after at least a minute warmup in the morning. The dealer said it is normal for this type of car? This is very embarrassing for a newer car. I never see this in a toyota cars that i owned: sienna, avalon... Seats: driver seat is not well designed and causing awkward and uncomfortable and fatigue position while driving. There is insufficiency of support for lumbar are ( the current one is too soft and sitting back so there is virtually no support at all). Again toyota cars seem not having this kind of problem. Also, the driver window is not tall enough that even a 5'6" person can bang his head to the top of the window when getting up and out of the drive seat. It should be 2" taller to avoid this problem. They should put cushion to the top edge and safety grip handle at the minimum. Driving condition: the car seems to wander when running on freeway at normal speed.

I was traveling east on i-195. I saw that a police officer had a vehicle pulled over on the right. I moved over to the left lane. When i did, i crossed onto the rumble strip on the left of the highway. I applied the brakes while on the rumble strip and nothing happened. The vehicle began to accelerate wildly. I tried to bring the vehicle back under control. My husband pulled the emergency brakes. Instead of slowing us down; the vehicle went out of control. I clearly remember the last moments screaming brakes! Brakes! We then went sideways before going across the grass median into opposing traffic. We were immediately struck on the passenger side by a vehicle-traveling west. My husband took the full force of the impact and was killed instantly. I went into a coma. I was airlifted to texas neuro rehab in austin from capital health hamilton, nj. Now i am permanently disabled. Not a moment in my life has gone by since that day without thinking of my husband and what happened to us. I remained in a coma until oct, 2005 i woke up in tx. ABS (Automated Breaking System) is impacted and turns on lights on my dashboard failing the following while driving (Forward Collision Warning, Tire Pressure Light, Lane Departure Warning, Anti-skid system) It is avaliable for testing on request. Car does not stop as it is supposed to in urgent breaking due to ABS failure and puts driver and others on risk. My spouse already got in an accident due to this. Yes, after months of system failure on and off, I finally got my car inspected at a independent service center. Honda dealership costs more and are not ready to even look at it without paying, even though this seems to me a problem discussed online in many forums/sites. I called and emailed manufacturer and was turned down by requesting me to go to the Honda dealership repair which charge way more only to inspect only one issue. No other than the independent service center. Yes, there were dashboard lights of the above mentioned lights and I discussed this with Honda service team during my oil change and I was said this is driver assistance and not a safety issue. The root cause diagnosed by independent service center was ABS system.

It was a main road that was recently repaved. It is a main road. It is asphalt. I was driving at night. It had rained all day but was not raining at the time of crash. There is traffic on this main road so i was going about 25 miles per hour. Suddenly the car accelerated and went right. I hit a parked car and my car flipped over. I was cut out of the car and taken to the hospital. I have cuts and bruises but i am otherwise ok. The airbags worked. What i am concerned about are the tires. Original equipment goodyear eagles. The best guess is the car hydroplaned. I have read on the internet these tires tend to do this. I can't prove it was the tires but i want to go on record that i believe these tires are dangerous and should be recalled. They are original equipment on many new cars. If there are enough complaints like mine maybe it will be the smoke of a starting fire. *tr

'takata recall'. I have taken measures for the safety recalls, adhering to required dates provided by nhtsa of this vehicle, one being the air bags recalls. I was involved in a recent car wreck (january 12th, 2019)at which the driver front air bag deployed from steering wheel. The opposing passenger ran a red light at a street/intersection perpendicular to the street i was traveling on. I t-boned her 2010 honda accord in the rear panel, driver's side. I was traveling at speed limit, approx 42 mph and she was traveling at excessive speed but i am unaware of her speed limit. My vehicle continued in a straight path but completely totaled the front end and driver's side front panel, frame, etc. As for my my injury, i felt burnt on both wrists at the time of impact, but due to shock of accident i did not seek medical attention. Over a course of 4-5 days my left wrist showed significant burns and only now, 23 days later, has the left wrist burn begun to heal but will most definitely leave an obvious scar.

We purchased the honda accord 2013 v6 10/22/2017. Steering wheel was tight we noticed ,that night of the 23rd, 2nd time driving it my son turned the corner and the steering wheel locked and he ran into the cement pole and totaled his car. We didn't even have it one full day. We later looked up on the internet that honda was under investigation for power steering locking up or electrical and saw people totaled there cars or had the same issues 464k cases. On fri sept 29th, 2017 i had an sua (sudden unintended acceleration) in my 2013 honda accord that devastated part of an office building and wrecked my car. I was in a parking lot and backed up, hit a 3 foot high concrete bollard, was annoyed, put the car in drive, felt an odd lurch as though the bumper was stuck on something although it was not. I put my foot on the accelerator and at that moment the car rapidly accelerated to what felt like 30 or 40 miles an hour. I tried to brake but it felt as though there was no pressure under my foot. I gripped the steering wheel in terror and steered the car away from other parked cars and into a concrete wheelchair ramp with rails and an office building. The air bag went off. The concrete ramp and office building stopped the car in its tracks. I put it in park and got out. I'm doing ok but mostly very very grateful i didn't hurt or kill anyone. Minor airbag burn on my arm and a contusion to my knee. I feel the airbag only came out a little and hit my left arm, not the rest of my body. But i could be wrong about that. I'm glad because as a physical therapist i've seen some nasty air bag injuries. Also i did not have my seat belt on because i often put it on as i leave a parking lot. Not a good idea, but also no nasty seat belt injury. Just stiff arms, painful left knee and neck, a few days later. I realize everyone is going to say i had the foot on the accelerator but i was at a dead stop when i put the car in drive to accelerate and seriously, after almost 40 years of driving, i have never felt anything like this terror and loss of control. The policeman who came to the scene would testify to the fact that i was completely sane and sober at the time. Today, we heard the car will be appraised as totaled. I have driven and loved my hondas since 1991 but no more, and i would hate to think this car would be fixed and resold.

I was driving in the right lane of an express way and exiting onto the exit ramp. My 2006 honda accord was accelerating, so i pressed the brake pedal to slow down to no avail. This, i could not do?and i just sat there. Then someone jammed the door open?and i was pulled out to a waiting ambulance. Other cars were hit and there were serious injuries. Honda: why did this happen? What happened to the brakes?to make them malfunction when i kept pressing the brake pedal continually? We are currently trying to find the cause. *jb
