TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH AND APPROACHED A TRAFFIC STOP, AS THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED A LOUD SCREECHING NOISE EMITTED CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE BOTH REAR BRAKE PADS WERE REPLACED. IN ADDITION, THE REAR ROTORS WERE RESURFACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. The Airbag light is on and off randomly. The vehicle was taken into Honda where they set up a procedure that they have specifically for Airbag issues due to so many recalls. They told us the passenger side airbag qualifies for replacement under a Honda extended warranty and service bulletin. When it comes to the drivers side Airbag, Honda refuses to fix it under the warranty. The specific issue as stated by a Honda tech is "a short to the Airbag Inflator causing the Airbag to be deemed useless". This is clearly a manufacturers defect, seeing how the exact same issue was the reason that the passenger side airbag was recalled. So with this information I don't understand how the consumer is being expected to pay for the replacement and the remedy. It should fall on Honda to resolve this issue and make right by every owner of a vehicle with a defective airbag inflator.

The contact owns a 2009 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was a burning odor detected prior to the illumination of air bag warning light. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence then towed to an independent mechanic. The mechanic informed the contact that there was a recall for the air bag. However, when the contact contacted the dealer, the dealer informed the contact that there was no air bag recall associated with the VIN. The vehicle was repaired by the independent mechanic, who replaced the air bag control unit. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN for the air bag. The failure mileage was 105,516.

Component/System: Engine – piston ring failure; oil control issue related to VCM system. Available for inspection: Yes. My 2009 Honda Accord EX-L V6 (J35Z2 engine with VCM) has developed repeated misfires due to oil entering the combustion chamber, consistent with Honda TSB 13-078. It began around 96,000 miles with cylinder #3 fouling. At 121,000 miles, cylinder #2 also misfired. A Honda dealer confirmed the issue as piston ring failure, and oil loss was measured at ~1.5 quarts per 1,000 miles. The issue causes sudden power loss, rough running, and hesitation, especially during highway driving or acceleration. This creates a serious risk of rear-end collisions or inability to safely merge. The misfire occurs without warning; no warning lamps were active beforehand. Brandfon Honda confirmed the diagnosis in May 2025. Honda acknowledges the defect in TSBs and prior class action litigation (Soto v. Honda), but refuses to assist because my car is outside the 8-year extended warranty window—even though I was never notified of that warranty. I’ve maintained the car carefully and reported the issue to Honda through multiple channels. This is a known defect affecting many 2008–2012 Accords. It compromises driveability, increases oil consumption, and creates safety concerns due to unpredictable engine performance. I’m submitting this to ensure it is recorded as part of a broader pattern that may warrant further investigation.

The engine is burning oil, about 2 quarts a month. The oil level consistently runs low when checked and I have to top it off with 1 qt every 2 weeks. There is no leaking under the car so the mechanic said the engine is burning the oil and I would need to replace the whole engine!. The cost of replacing the engine is more than the car is worth. I just bought it a year ago and thought Hondas were more reliable than this. The mechanic said Honda had some issues with the "rings" and tp check this website for a recall. I do not see a recall but if many other similar cars have the same problem there should be a recall that Honda should fix.

The check engine warning light and an unknown warning light were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the spark plugs were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where cylinder #1 spark plug was replaced. Additionally, the dealer informed the contact that the engine might need to be rebuilt to completely correct the failure. The vehicle was temporarily repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA Action Number: RQ24013 (Engine). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 173,643.

Burns oil due to bad piston rings. They are notorious for it and everyone that has a 8th generation Honda Accord (2008-2012) knows this is one of the biggest problems with the vehicle.

HAVE HAD THE CAR FOR SEVERAL YEARS AND HAVE TAKEN IT IN FOR INSPECTIONS OF THE BRAKING SYSTEM WHICH CAME BACK WITH NO ISSUES. REPORTED TO OWNER/CEO OF COMPANY AS WELL. BRAKES DO NOT WORK WHEN USED IN AN EMERGENCY. THE PEDAL WILL GO TO THE FLOOR BUT THE CAR WILL NOT STOP EVEN AFTER PUNCHING THE BRAKES SEVERAL TIMES. WORSE WHEN ON A DECLINE OF A HILL. I BOUGHT CAR CPO AND REAR PADS WERE SUPPOSED TO BE NEW. A YEAR LATER, I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY REAR BRAKE PADS (HIGH PITCH NOISE, BURNT SMELL). TOOK IT TO A DEALERSHIP. THEY CHARGED ME OVER $160.00 FOR CLEANING AND LUBRICATING. A MONTH AND A HALF LATER - THE SAME PROBLEM APPEARS AGAIN. TOOK IT TO A LOCAL MECHANIC. I WAS CHARGED $220 FOR CLEANING, LUBRICATING AND NEW BRAKE PADS REPLACEMENT. TWO AND A HALF YEARS LATER, STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS AGAIN. RUSTED REAR ROTORS, 20% LEFT OF THE REAR PADS. ALL NEEDS A REPLACEMENT - $350.00 BILL. I HAD PUT A LITTLE LESS THAN 20K MILES FOR THE PAST TWO AND A HALF YEARS. FRONT BRAKES HAVEN'T HAD AN ISSUE AND ARE STILL USABLE. IT APPEARS THAT I AM NOT ALONE AND A LOT OF OWNERS OF THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL REPORT THE SAME ISSUES. THIS IS SO RIDICULOUS. I WOULD LIKE HONDA TO ACKNOWLEDGE BAD DESIGN AND REPLACE IT IN THE VEHICLE ALTOGETHER.

On Saturday September 16, 2023, I opened the trunk of my car and when I reached in to retrieve my backpack, I suddenly heard a very loud bang and a long bar swung towards me and struck me across my face and luckily my eyeglasses kept the broken metal bar from striking my eyes. My eyeglasses remained in one piece but received a long scratch on it’s surface. At the same time the broken metal bar hit me across the face, the trunk fell on the top and back of my head causing bruising. The incident was disturbing and scary. It could have been worse. It is indeed a safety hazard that must be reported. There could be a defect in the part, improper installation or both. This is the second time this happened (2016 first incident not reported). I had Ocean Honda install a new set of the torsion bars on Tuesday September 19, 2023. Praying they will not suddenly snap again and hurt someone seriously.

Hi. So last year 2022 I was driving and the hood came up causing me to stop in the middle of the road. Honestly I cannot remember if I hit something but then the car caught on fire soon after! I received a recall notice maybe a year later and when I called in about it to the Honda dealership, No one knows what I was referring to and dismissed me. My safely was at risk because myself and my 1 year old son was in the car! The car completely locked and we almost didn’t make it out. No my car was not inspected I did not have full coverage at the time. I had to sell it to a junk yard and been without a car since. If when I called originally this would have been taken care of!!

Had to replace the battery. Turns out the alternator was not charging the battery. I then replaced the alternator. The alternator was contaminated with oil from the VVT. The Variable Valve Timing Solenoid Assembly that is located above the alternator needs to be replaced also. Otherwise the oil leak will damage the alternator again.

I'VE RECENTLY GONE TO A BACK PAIN SPECIALIST AND FOUND THAT MY PROBLEM HAS BEEN CAUSED BY MY POSTURE, MAINLY FROM THE NEWER CARS I'VE BEEN DRIVING THE PAST COUPLE YEARS. I'VE NOW BOUGHT AND SOLD SEVERAL CARS IN THE PAST 3 YEARS THINKING "I JUST NEED A LARGER MORE COMFORTABLE CAR" HOWEVER THAT I NOT THE CASE. THE KNOWN FACT THAT AUTOMOBILE SEATS ARE "VERY UNCOMFORTABLE" MADE SO BY THE FORWARD DESIGN OF THE HEADREST, CAUSING YOUR HEAD TO BENT FORWARD WHILE DRIVING. TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM, I'VE TURNED MY HEADREST AROUND BACKWARDS "NOT TOO SAFE" TO RELIEVE MY NECK PAIN AND THIS HAS WORKED, BUT IT IS VERY UNSAFE.....BUT I HAVE NO CHOICE ANOTHER EXAMPLE, I AM RENTING A CAR BECAUSE MY HONDA IS AT THE BODY SHOP. I AM LEASING A 2009 HONDA ACCORD EX COUPE. I WAS INFORMED AT LESS THAN 15,000 MILES THAT I WAS IN NEED OF NEW REAR BRAKE PADS. WHILE I FULLY EXPECTED TO PAY FOR GENERAL MAINTENANCE AND REASONABLE "WEAR ITEMS" DURING MY LEASE. THERE IS NO REASON THAT I SHOULD NEED TO REPLACE MY BRAKE PADS AT 15,000 MILES. IN SPEAKING WITH THE SERVICE CENTER AT MY HONDA DEALER, THEY INFORMED ME THAT IT IS NOT UNCOMMON FOR 2008 AND 2009 ACCORDS TO EXPERIENCE PREMATURE REAR BRAKE WEAR BUT THAT HONDA NOR THE DEALERSHIP WOULD PAY FOR THE SERVICE. I WAS THEN INFORMED OF A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT THAT COULD REIMBURSE $150 OF THE $239 IT WOULD COST TO REPLACE THE BRAKE PADS. WHILE THIS DOES HELP WITH THE FINANCIAL BURDEN, IT DOES NOT COVER THE ENTIRE EXPENSE. NOR DOES IT EXCUSE HONDA'S UNWILLINGNESS TO FIX THIS QUALITY/SAFETY ISSUE AND SPARE THEIR CUSTOMERS THE HASSLE OF THE UP-FRONT EXPENSE AND ADDITIONAL PAPERWORK REQUIRED TO TAKE PART IN THE SUIT. I EVEN CONTACTED HONDA U.S. DIRECTLY REGARDING THE ISSUE AND THEY DIRECTED ME BACK TO THE CLASS ACTION HOTLINE AND SAID THERE WAS NOTHING MORE THEY COULD DO. ALTHOUGH HONDA DOES NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE FAULTY PRODUCT, THEY HAVE RELEASED AN "IMPROVED" BRAKE PAD WHICH, SUPPOSEDLY, HAS A LONGER LIFESPAN. CLEARLY, HOWEVER, THERE IS A DEFECT WITH BRAKES THAT WEAR DOWN SO QUICKLY WITH NORMAL USE. ONE OF THE REASONS I CHOSE A HONDA PRODUCT WAS DUE TO WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A SUPERIOR QUALITY AND SAFETY RATING. Constant clunking when turning the steering wheel left or right. Had the car since it had 90k miles. I see on forums about this issue in this model accord. Honda really needs to do there part and repair this issue. The steering column could lock up and could cause a fatal accident with any individual.

A clicking noise comes from the steering column when turning the steering wheel when driving. The car has 101,500 miles. It has been making this noise for approximately 4 years. From previous searches I thought this was an immaterial issue (that is, harmless rubbing of plastic parts). However in now looking into this further I see there have numerous complaints, pointing to a serious point of failure issue with the steering column and it bearing components. A recall should be issued so Honda can correct this defect.

A clicking/clunking noise comes from the steering column when turning the steering wheel when driving and when car is parked. Mechanic says it is the steering column and could be dangerous. There are many reports on the internet by car owners of this issue with 2009 Honda Accords. There are reports of accidents related to this clicking noise due to steering locking up. Honda will not pay for the repair. This is a safety issue. A recall should be issued.

The contact owns a 2009 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact stated that there was an engine misfire. In addition, the check engine warning light illuminated; however, the check engine warning light was no longer illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the dealer; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred almost every two months. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 79,000.

While making a right turn from a stop sign on a side road and upward incline the vehicle lost power to the wheels and was unable to complete the turn onto a main road. Loss of ability to move the vehicle ( appeared to be in neutral ) posed a risk since there could have been traffic on the main road that could have caused an accident. The car could also have slid back to damage another car at the back. There was no accident in this case. Vehicle was towed to an independent service center - it was determined that the right side front axle shaft had broken-snapped "in the middle".

The contact owns a 2009 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the pieces holding the front and rear bumpers in place were constantly fracturing because the part was made of plastic. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, he heard abnormal rubbing and grinding sounds coming from the front of the vehicle. The contact continued to drive. Upon parking and inspecting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the driver's side front bumper was detaching. The contact purchased rubbers and was able to reinstall the front bumper himself. However, the failure reoccurred several times. Additionally, the contact later became aware that the rear bumper had separated from the vehicle as there was no bumper on the rear of the vehicle. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 300,000.

Driving at 45 mph and rear General Tire Altimax RT43 tire blew out. No accidents or injuries but consider myself lucky as this could of been serious at highway speeds and if a front tire blew out. Tire is available for inspection. Tire shop noticed dry rot in bottom of outer tread grooves and vehicle was garage parked approximately 50% of time. Tire was manufactured in November 9-15, 2020; installed on vehicle on 8-2-21 with 137,739 miles; tire replaced on 8-23-23 with 160,103 miles. Tire had 22,364 miles to failure, and was driven 2 years and 16 days to failure. No low pressure tire warning on vehicle at or before tire blew out. Tire mechanic said all 3 remaining tires had normal pressure. Tire separated into three sections, the thread area, and both sidewalls. Looks like there are safety recalls on various General Altimax RT43 tires due to manufacturing defect from over curing, but this tire size was not mentioned. Tire size is 215/60R16. I have copies of installation paperwork documenting tire DOT number, odometer readings, and install date as well as final replacement paperwork documenting odometer reading and dates.

FRIDAY, MARCH 25TH I ACCELERATED QUICKLY INTO A LEFT TURN FROM A DEAD STOP AT CHURCH STREET AND RT 20 IN NORTHBOROUGH, MA AND THE ACCELERATOR STUCK IN THE FULL THROTTLE POSITION. I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE THROTTLE AND APPLIED BREAKS HEAVILY BUT THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO REV, I REACHED DOWN TO TURN THE KEY AND KILL THE ENGINE BUT BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO DO THAT THERE WAS A LARGE CLUNKING NOISE AND THE THROTTLE RELEASED TO IDLE. A SIMILAR ISSUE HAPPENED TODAY AS I ENTERED THE HIGHWAY (190 SOUTH) AT THE 140 SOUTH INTERSECTION. THE HIGHWAY ENTRANCE AND BOTH LANES WERE EMPTY SO I STOMPED ON THE ACCELERATOR TO SEE IF FRIDAY'S ISSUE WAS A FLUKE - THE THROTTLE STUCK AGAIN. I TAPPED THE BREAKS BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. THIS TIME I WAS ABLE TO WATCH THE TACHOMETER REV UP TO 5,000 RPMS AND IT RELEASED ON ITS OWN. IN BOTH SITUATIONS THE CRUISE CONTROL BUTTON WAS ON BUT NOT ENGAGED.

SHE THEN TELLS ME SHE CAN'T STOP THE CAR. AT THIS POINT I REALIZE WE ARE ACCELERATING (ESTIMATING SPEED 80 MPH). I LOOK AT THE FLOOR TO SEE WHERE DENISE'S FEET ARE PLACED. BOTH FEET ARE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND SHE IS NEARLY OUT OF HER SEAT FROM PRESSING HARD. BOTH OF HER HANDS ARE ON THE STEERING WHEEL. SHE DIRECTS ME TO PLACE THE CAR IN NEUTRAL. I COMPLY BUT DO NOT SENSE ANY AFFECT. DRIVER TELLS ME THERE WAS NO CHANGE AND WE ARE NOT DECELERATING. IN FACT THE CAR CONTINUES TO ACCELERATE. I DIRECT HER TO AIM THE CAR FOR THE RIGHT SHOULDER AND I WOULD TURN THE IGNITION OFF. WE SUCCESSFULLY EXIT THE ROADWAY AND COME TO A STOP. THE BRAKES ARE SEVERELY OVERHEATED AND THE ENGINE IS EMITTING STRONG ODOR OF HOT METAL. WE SIT FOR TWO MINUTES OR MORE ATTEMPTING TO MAKE SENSE OF WHAT JUST HAPPENED. I TRY AN ENGINE START AND ENGINE IMMEDIATELY GOES TO RED LINE RPM. I IMMEDIATELY SHUT DOWN ENGINE.

ON A DRIVE LAST FRIDAY WEEK (7/25/2014) FROM CHICAGO TO OKLAHOMA CITY, I EXPERIENCED A VERY FRIGHTENING SCENARIO. ABOUT 2 MILES OUT FROM ST LOUIS WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ON AND THE CAR AT 65 MILES/HR IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF TRAFFIC, I APPLIED THE BRAKE TO SLOW DOWN. TO MY HORROR APPLYING THE BRAKE DID NOT SLOW THE CAR DOWN & THE CAR CONTINUED TO WANT TO STAY AT THE ORIGINAL SPEED. AFTER PRESSING DOWN HARDER ON THE BRAKE PEDAL MY NEXT INSTINCT WAS TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL ' WHICH WHILE SLOWING THE CAR DOWN SOMEWHAT THEN RESULTED IN THE ENGINE REVS GOING TO SOMEWHERE AROUND 6000RPM & RISINGAND SO OBVIOUSLY NOT A GOOD SOLUTION. I THEN PUT THE CAR BACK INTO DRIVE & TRIED FURTHER VERY HEAVY PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES AT THE SAME TIME AS PRESSING THE CANCEL BUTTON ON THE STEERING WHEEL. EVENTUALLY ' WITH BOTH FEET NOW ON THE BREAK PEDAL PRESSING WITH AS MUCH FORCE AS I COULD - I WAS ABLE TO SLOW THE CAR DOWN ENOUGH TO CHANGE LANES & MOVE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD - WHERE THE ENGINE STILL WANTED TO REV UNCONTROLLABLY BUT THIS COULD BE FIXED BY TURNING OFF THE IGNITION SWITCH. AFTER SOME MINUTES HAD ELAPSED I HAD ENOUGH CONFIDENCE TO TURN THE CAR BACK ON AND ' AS EVERYTHING ELSE APPEARED TO BE NORMAL ' PROCEED SLOWLY ' TAKING CARE NOT TO ENGAGE THE CRUISE CONTROL. A FEW MILES LATER THE CAR STILL SEEMED TO BE PERFORMING NORMALLY OTHERWISE AND SO WE DECIDED TO CONTINUE ON OUR JOURNEY. THE CAR WAS THEN TURNED INTO THE HONDA DEALER TO FIX THE ISSUE. HIS DIAGNOSIS WAS THAT THE BRAKE SWITCH HAD FAILED. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS AND THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF POSTS ON THIS ISSUE AND I DEFINETLY CAN BE A VERY SERIOUS SAFTY ISSUE IF THE ENGINE BECOMES DAMAGED WHILD DRIVING WITH THIS ISSUE WITH THE VTC ACTUATOR. I SHOULDNT HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR AS THERE IS A TSB ON THE ISSUE THAT CLEARLY STARES IT AS A DEFECT.

I WAS DRIVING MY 2009 HONDA ACCORD ON THE INTERSTATE I-44 EAST NEAR FORT LEONARD WOOD MISSOURI. NO OTHER VEHICLES WERE IN FRONT OF ME OR AROUND ME. WEATHER WAS CLEAR, TEMPERATURE WAS IN THE MID 50S. NO IMPACT TO THE VEHICLE OCCURRED. THE SUNROOF ON MY VEHICLE SPONTANEOUSLY SHATTERED AND EXPLODED SENDING GLASS THROUGHOUT THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR. FURTHER, WHILE CLEANING UP THE GLASS MANY OF THE PIECES WERE SHARP AND GLASS SPLINTERS WERE PREVALENT. Traffic bumper to bumper as 5 pm, stop and go near traffic lights. Tapped suv ahead and despite very very slow speed and not even scratch on my 2009 HONDA ACCORD COUPE - THE DRIVERS AIR BAG DEPLOYED & Seatbelt locked up. Contacted HONDA CORPORATE where they opened case and promised “taking care of, shouldn’t have happened, and not to worry”. 2 weeks later HONDA changed response when I called for update and told me to deal with my insurance company. Very unpleasant & unprofessional. Car evaluated and needed seatbelt & air bag replacement. They too confirmed not even scratch front of car, only has 83k miles! Now everyone claiming no seatbelts available.

The contact owns a 2009 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the vehicle had been experiencing an oil leak. The dealer diagnosed that the valve cover gasket had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the valve cover gasket was replaced several times; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that a hairline fracture in the engine housing had caused the oil vacuum seal to fracture and the oil to leak. The dealer replaced the engine housing. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, there was an abnormal loud sound coming from underneath the hood, and the vehicle skipped gears and lunged forward. Additionally, the contact stated while driving 70-75 MPH, the contact noticed a burning chemical odor. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and turned on the hazard lights. The contact then drove to the residence, where the contact opened the hood and noticed that the battery had melted. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 84,000.

WHILE DRIVING AT ABOUT 55 MPH ON ROUTE I-287 IN MORRISTOWN, NJ, THE CAR BEGAN TO SHAKE BADLY AND THE ENGINE MADE A LOUD RUMBLING NOISE. I GOT THE CAR TO MY LOCAL SERVICE STATION IN MORRISTOWN, WHERE MY MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT ONE OF MY SPARK PLUGS HAD FAILED TO FUNCTION, HAVING BEEN BADLY OIL FOULED. HE REPLACED THE SPARK PLUG AND SAID THE COMPUTER SCANNER SHOWED CODE P0303 MISFIRE CYLINDER #3. HE ALSO NOTED THAT HONDA HAS A SERVICE CAMPAIGN FOR PISTON RING REPLACEMENT INITIATED IN 2013 TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO HONDA ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 13. THEY REPLACED 3 OF THE 4 SPARK PLUGS IN QUESTION (1 HAVING ALREADY BEEN REPLACED) AND UPDATED THE CAR'S COMPUTER PROGRAM, CALLING THAT STEP ONE IN SOLVING THE PROBLEM. THE HONDA SERVICE MANAGER EXPLAINED THAT HONDA'S PROTOCOL FOR THIS IS TO UPDATE THE SOFTWARE AND REPLACE SPARK PLUGS AND THEN WAIT TO SEE IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. (I LATER CONFIRMED THIS PROTOCOL BY PHONE WITH HONDA AMERICA.) LACKING THAT, HONDA WILL NOT REIMBURSE THE DEALERSHIP IF THEY DO THE REPAIR, BUT THIS FIX SEEMS TO WORK ABOUT HALF THE TIME. WHEN THE SERVICE CAMPAIGN WAS INITIATED IN 2013, I WAS NOT NOTIFIED. CLEARLY, HONDA RECOGNIZED THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM OF OIL LEAKING INTO THE CYLINDERS BUT DID NOT ISSUE A RECALL, AS I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD HAVE. IN MY CASE, MY ENGINE FAILED WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT HIGH SPEED ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY. THIS IS NOT SOMETHING I WOULD LIKE TO HAPPEN AGAIN, BUT MY LOCAL MECHANIC SAYS IT DEFINITELY WILL HAPPEN AGAIN, BECAUSE HONDA DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. REPLACING SPARK PLUGS IS NO MORE THAN A BAND AID. I'M LEFT WITH A SERIOUS AND EXPENSIVE PROBLEM, AND HONDA'S INTENTION IS TO SKIRT THE REAL ISSUE BY RISKING MY SAFETY IN ORDER TO AVOID ACCOUNTABILITY.

EVER SINCE I BOUGHT MY CAR I'VE NOTICED THAT MY OIL BURNS UP A LOT FASTER THAN OTHER CARS. WHEN I GET AN OIL CHANGE DONE IT ONLY TAKES LESS THAN 2 MONTHS FOR THE OIL IN THE TANK TO BURN AWAY QUICKLY. SUMITOMO 70K 600AB 94V HTR ENHANCE L/X 2255017HTR PURCHASED ALL 4 TIRES NEW AT 84K ON 9-11-2014. ON 7-2-2016 AT 103K, I WAS DRIVING DOWN I-95 ABT 70 MPH, CAR SUDDENLY STARTED VIBRATING VIOLENTLY. MANAGED TO RIDE IN EMERGENCY LANE TO NEXT EXIT AT 15 MPH TO FIND A TIRE SHOP ON NEXT EXIT. HAD TO PURCHASE 2 NEW TIRES- CAUSE WAS A SIX INCH SECTIONS OF TREAD THAT APPEARED TO HAVE SEPARATED INTERNALLY. HAD NUMEROUS "BUBBLING" ON BOTH TIRES, BELT SEPARATION WAS NOTICEABLE. THESE ARE 70K TIRES AND THEY ONLY HAD 19K MILES ON THEM. I WAS ALONE AND HEADING TO JAX, MANAGER OF TIRE PLACE SUGGESTED THAT WE TAKE SEVERAL PICS OF THE TIRES SINCE I WASN'T ABLE TO TAKE THEM WITH ME (MY TRUNK WAS FULL). WASN'T ABLE TO MAKE IT BACK TO GA FOR ANOTHER 3 WEEKS DUE TO MED EMERGENCY- UPON RETURNING BACK, I TOOK MY CAR TO THE TIRE PLACE THAT INSTALLED THEM ALONG WITH THE PICS AND RECEIPT. MANAGER INFORMED ME THAT I WAS SUPPOSED TO SAVE THE 2 DEFECTIVE TIRES (AS IN BRINGING THEM WITH ME!) AND THAT I WAS SUPPOSED TO CALL THEM WHEN IT HAPPENED (THEY ARE CLOSED ALL WEEKEND) AND THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO COMPENSATE ME FOR THIS ISSUE WITHOUT THE ACTUAL TIRES! TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 50 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SWAY FROM LEFT AND RIGHT. A NOISE HAS DEVELOPED IN OUR 2009 HONDA ACCORD IN THE DASH, WHERE THE PASSENGER SIDE AND RIGHT SIDE "A" PILLAR AIR BAGS ARE LOCATED. THE CAR HAS BEEN RETURNED TO A LOCAL DEALER ON 3 SEPERATE OCCASIONS. THEY CONTINUE TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM BY INSTALLING SOME TYPE OF PADDING IN THE DASH. AFTER EACH REPAIR, THE NOISE RETURNS AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 10 MILES. I HAVE ASKED THEM ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS TO REMOVE THE DASH/AIR BAGS AND INSPECT THE EFFECTED AREAS. I HAVE ALSO REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO THE HONDA CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE DEPARTMENT. THEY HAVE INDICATED THEY WILL REVIEW MY INFORMATION AND HAVE SOMEONE CALL BACK. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN USING THE AIR CONDITIONING UNIT, THE AIR WOULD BLOW HOT INSTEAD OF COOLER AIR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THEY ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT AIR CONDITIONING UNIT WAS LEAKING AND NEEDED FREON. THE DEALER ADDED FREON TO THE VEHICLE HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED SHORTLY AFTER THE CONTACT LEFT THE DEALER. THE DEALER THEN ADVISED HIM TO DRIVE AN ADDITIONAL 1,000 MILES BEFORE DETERMINING IF THE FAILURE HAD BEEN CORRECTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 22,000. My Honda vehicle’s engine grinds or rattles at cold start-up. Honda dealerships or manufacturer (Honda) are not cooperating and not able to fix it with the reason that my vehicle is out of warranty. I have complained several times since several years however Honda / Honda dealerships have been under playing and rejecting my complaints. This is clearly a manufacturing defect. Please do something about it.

MY ENGINE IS CONSUMING MORE OIL THAN IT SHOULD. I RECENTLY NOTICED THIS AND HAVE DONE MY RESEARCH AND IT TURNS OUT TO BE A COMMON RANDOM DEFECTS WITH HONDA ACCORDS. I AM WORRIED THAT THE ENGINE MIGHT ONE DAY CATCH ON FIRE OR EVEN FAIL WHILE I AM DRIVING. I HAVE GOTTEN A LETTER FROM HONDA STATING THAT THEY BELIEVE THAT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE GAS BUMP BUT THEY WERE WRONG. THE SRS UNIT HAS FAILED WHICH IS AN ACKNOWLEDGED PROBLEM IN SOME 2008-2010 HONDA ACCORDS BUT MY PARTICULAR MODEL IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE RECALL. CONSIDERING THE FAILURE AND THE ACKNOWLEDGMENT FROM HONDA ON THIS EXACT ISSUE, MY CAR SHOULD BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE RECALL FREE OF CHARGE. HONDA HAS GIVEN US A RUN AROUND ABOUT OUR COMPLAINTS SAYING THE OUR CAR IS OLD, SUGGESTING THEREFORE THAT WE NEED TO GET A NEWER MODEL, AND BY CALLING US BACK FOR TWO 1,000 MILE CHECKS AND NOT TAKING OWNERSHIP OF THE PROBLEM THEY KNOW EXISTS. ON TWO OCCASIONS IN THE LAST SIX MONTHS, MY 2009 HONDA ACCORD EXPERIENCED WHAT I WOULD DESCRIBE AS UNINTENDED ACCELERATION WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE AT A LOW SPEED (FIRST TIME TURNING ON TO A ROAD; SECOND TIME ACCELERATING WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK THE VEHICLE). THE ENGINE SURGED WITH POWER AND NEARLY REDLINED THE TACHOMETER. EACH CASE I SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL TO DISABLE THE DRIVE TRAIN AND THEN SHUT DOWN THE CAR; WAITED FIVE MINUTES AND RESTARTED THE CAR. I SCANNED THE NTSB DATA BASE TO LOOK FOR SIMILAR REPORTING BUT FOUND NONE. I BOUGHT THIS CAR USED, IN 2014, FROM A HONDA DEALERSHIP, WITH ONLY 15440 MILES ON IT. I DROVE IT WITHOUT INCIDENT FOR AT LEAST NINE MONTHS. I NOW HAVE ABOUT 25500 MILES ON IT. I ALSO OWN AN OLDER ACCORD AND CONSIDER THEIR VEHICLES TO BE QUALITY PRODUCTS. I AM NOT TREATING THIS AS A COMPLAINT AS MUCH AS I AM TRYING TO DETERMINE IF SIMILAR INCIDENTS HAVE OCCURRED. UNLIKE THE RECENT TOYOTA ISSUES OF FLOOR MATS INDUCING ACCELERATION, THE MAT I USED IS SECURED TO THE FLOOR OF THE CAR AND DOES NOT COME WITHIN THREE INCHES BEHIND AND BELOW THE VEHICLE'S ACCELERATION PEDAL. I HAVE HAD MY HONDA ACCORD 2009 V6 SERVICED FOR CONSTANT SPARK PLUG FOULING AND OIL CONSUMPTION. AFTER A TOTAL OF 10 VISITS, AND OVER 40 DAYS WITHOUT MY CAR OVER THE COURSE OF 3 YEARS, I HAD RECEIVED A TOTAL OF 3 SPARK PLUG SETS, TWO OIL CONSUMPTION TESTS, LOST TWO CATALYTIC CONVERTERS, AND O2 SENSORS. EVEN WITH THIS CONSTANT SPARK PLUG REPLACEMENT, IT DID NOT ALLEVIATE ANY ISSUES. I KEPT BREAKING DOWN ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH A RUMBLING, MISFIRING ENGINE. AFTER NUMEROUS TRIPS TO HONDA, THEY REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM. AFTER SPEAKING TO A DISTRICT REP AND BEING REFERRED TO PARAGON HONDA IN WOODSIDE, NY, THEY HAD AGREED TO REPLACE MY ENGINE. THEY HAVE NOW HAD IT FOR TWO MONTHS. AFTER RECEIVING A NEW ENGINE, I INSTANTLY RECEIVED CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS STATING THE CAR WAS RUNNING TOO LEAN. AFTER RETURNING IT FOR ANOTHER WEEK, I RECEIVED IT BACK, BUT THIS TIME, IT WOULD LITERALLY CHOKE OUT AND STALL AT EVERY OTHER RED LIGHT. I RETURNED TO HONDA WITH A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FOR TOO RICH AND A CAR THAT WOULD NOT MAKE IT MORE THEN A FEW MILES IF STOP SIGNS WERE INVOLVED. IT HAS NOW BEEN THERE FOR TWO WEEKS, ON TOP OF THE TWO MONTHS. PLUS THE 40 DAYS, THAT'S A TOTAL OF 4 LOST MONTHS. I HAD TO FIGHT THIS WEEKEND FOR A LOANER CAR, WHICH FOR THEM, SEEMED LIKE A VERY DIFFICULT THING TO DO. HONESTLY, I DON'T KNOW HOW THE NHTSA HAS ALLOWED HONDA TO KEEP THEIR OIL CONSUMING DANGEROUS CARS ON THE ROAD, I HAVE BROKE DOWN IN THE LEFT LANE OF A 4 LANE HIGHWAY, AND I KNOW THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING. VEHICLE HAS BEEN CONSUMING OIL SINCE PURCHASED WITH 9,500 MILES. OIL CONSUMPTION HAS CONTRIBUTED TO FOULED SPARK PLUGS. FOULED SPARK PLUGS TRIGGERED "CYLINDER #3 MISFIRE" CODE AND EXTREMELY POOR PERFORMANCE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS THE CAR EXPERIENCED DIFFERENT CYLINDER MISFIRE ISSUES. HONDA DEALER PERFORMED ENGINE COMPUTER SOFTWARE UPDATES ON TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS THAT DID NOT REMEDY THE OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUE. NO WARNING LIGHTS TO INDICATE THAT THE ENGINE WAS 3 QUARTS LOW ON OIL. IF THE CONSUMER IS NOT AWARE THAT THE VEHICLE IS USING OIL, THERE IS POTENTIAL FOR THE ENGINE TO SEIZE CAUSING COSTLY REPAIRS OR TO LOSE POWER IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION. DEALER IS NOW PERFORMING HONDA OIL CONSUMPTION TEST. ACCORDING TO HONDA, CONSUMING 1 QUART OF OIL IN 1,000 MILES IS NORMAL AND ACCEPTABLE. THIS BURNED OIL IS BEING RELEASED INTO THE ENVIRONMENT AS EVIDENCED BY THE BLACK CARBON ON THE TAIL PIPES. IT IS HARD TO BELIEVE THAT A LEADING CAR MANUFACTURER WOULD DEEM OIL CONSUMPTION IN A BRAND NEW VEHICLE AS NORMAL OR ACCEPTABLE. THIS IS THE FIRST VEHICLE OUT OF 12 THAT I HAVE EVER OWNED THAT CONSUMED OIL. EVEN VEHICLES WITH OVER 200,000 MILES DID NOT CONSUME OIL. I PURCHASED A HONDA SO THAT I DID NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT RELIABILITY OR BREAK DOWNS FOR MANY YEARS. NOW I HAVE TO WORRY WITH CHECKING THE OIL EVERY WEEK AS TO NOT GET LOW OR RUN OUT. SAME VEHICLE HAS ALSO HAD PREMATURE REAR BRAKE PAD WEAR AND HAD TO BE REPLACED AT 60,000 MILES. COMPLAINT HAS BEEN FILED WITH AMERICAN HONDA. CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS HAVE BEEN FILED AGAINST HONDA OVER THE PREMATURE REAR BRAKE PAD WEAR AND THE OIL CONSUMPTION ISSUES.

I BOUGHT MY 2009 HONDA ACCORD LX ON DECEMBER 30, 2008. LESS THAN A MONTH AFTER THAT, MY BRAKES STARTED MAKING A HORRIFIC SQUEAKING SOUND EVERY TIME I APPLIED PRESSURE TO THEM. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF I TAP THEM LIGHTLY OR I PUSH DOWN HARD; THE BRAKES STILL MAKE TERRIBLE NOISES. I TOOK MY CAR IN TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP TWICE FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND ONCE FOR THE BRAKE SOUNDS. ALL THREE TIMES, I ASKED THE ASSOCIATES TO CHECK THE BRAKES. EACH TIME, THEY SAID THE BRAKES WERE ADJUSTED (I.E. SANDED) AND THAT THE NOISE SHOULD CEASE. ON THE MY TRIP, I TOLD THEM WHATEVER THEY WERE DOING WASN'T WORKING. IT WAS THEN I WAS TOLD THAT HONDA ACCORDS SEEM TO HAVE A BRAKE ISSUE, BUT HONDA IS AWARE AND WORKING ON A SOLUTION. AS OF LAST WEEK, MY CAR IS NOT ONLY MAKING SQUEAKING NOISES WHEN I BRAKE, IT IS ALSO MAKING A HIGH-PITCHED GRINDING SOUND THAT IS AUDIBLE OVER MUSIC PLAYING ON A LOW VOLUME. THE NOISE OCCURS EVERY DAY, JUST LIKE THE BRAKES' NOISE HAPPENS DAILY. THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED TO A CAR THAT WAS LESS THAN A MONTH OLD AND IS NOW LESS THAN A YEAR OLD. The contact owns a 2009 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the vehicle had been taken for an alignment. While performing the alignment, the parking brake activated independently. After the service was completed, the contact disengaged the parking brake and noticed that the vehicle seemed a bit more difficult than normal to steer. The contact pulled over, stopped, and became aware that the rear rotors were overheated and turning red. The contact stated that the parking brake was still activated even though the instrument panel had indicated that the parking brake was disengaged. The contact turned off the vehicle until the vehicle had cooled off and then returned home with the vehicle. Once the contact was home and the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed that the parking brake was still engaged even after disengaging the parking brake. The contact stated that the brakes were still overheated. The contact also noticed that the brake pads had started to fracture from the overheating. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact had not taken the vehicle to the dealer. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 128,000.

My daughter was in an accident on 9/28/2021 and the air bag exploded and she said it burned her but it was actually some type of metal. The vehicle was inspected by the insurance company. I ended up buying the vehicle back and when the car was delivered to the repairman, it was note that is was a faulty air bag. I am not sure about the other questions as it relates to warning lamps, ect.. It has been inspected by State Farm, the car is still in my possession. I was advised to report the airbag blowout. It was stated on my Market valuation Report under Supplemental information that HONDA is recalling certain 2003-2012 Honda Accord for incorrectly installed air bag may deploy improperly in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury. 1st the check engine light continues to come on, when it does it makes loud noise and seems to either speed up like idling to fast or loss of power, continues the normal maintained, already replaced the head gaskets and belts it burns through so much oil when we do test on car they say catalytic convertor and then it will stop and work and some thing over and over again, I have 157000 on my car the leather in the car it is forming hard spots on seats front and back I don't have other passengers its like the seats are superglued . I have heard Honda is aware of these problems and with this amt of complaints why is not Honda heard accountable, in park city a fire started due to faulty catalytic convertor I don't want that to happen to me

I WAS DRIVING MY 2009 ACCORD ON MY SNOW COVERED STREET AND THE VEHICLE STABILITY (VSA) LIGHT FLASHED ON, AS IT SHOULD, WHEN THE VEHICLE LOSES TRACTION. HOWEVER, THE LIGHT STAYED ON AND THE ABS AND BRAKE LIGHTS BOTH APPEARED AS WELL AND ALL 3 STAYED LIT. AT FIRST, I THOUGHT THEY WOULD RESET, BUT AFTER A FEW DAYS, THEY DID NOT. THE VSA AND ANTI-LOCK BRAKE FUNCTIONS WERE NO LONGER WORKING. MY CAR WAS BROUGHT TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND BASED ON THE COMPUTER CODES, DETERMINED THAT THE ABS MODULATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE COST FOR THIS REPAIR WAS OVER $1300! AT THAT TIME, I DECIDED NOT TO COMPLETE THE REPAIR BECAUSE I WANTED TO CALL AMERICAN HONDA TO SEE IF THEY COULD PROVIDE A DISCOUNT FOR THIS VERY IMPORTANT AND EXPENSIVE SAFETY COMPONENT. AFTER MORE THAN A WEEK, THEY DID FINALLY OFFER A DISCOUNT AND THE REPAIR WAS COMPLETED FOR $800. I WAS DRIVING THROUGH A NEIGHBORHOOD ONE NIGHT ON MY WAY HOME AND MY CAR JUST STOPPED AND CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. IT WOULD NOT TURN BACK ON SO I CALLED AAA. HONDA SERVICE STATES TO REPLACE THE FILTER AROUND 75,000. SINCE I WAS NO WHERE NEAR 75K WHAT IS THE PROBLEM. ANYWAY, I HAD THE FUEL FILTER REPLACED AT MY OWN EXPENSE. AT THIS POINT THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON SHOWING THERE WAS STILL A PROBLEM. THE MECHANIC THEN STATED THAT MY O2 SENSOR WENT BAD. SO, I REPLACED THE O2 SENSOR. THE ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED. I ALSO HAVE HAD THE CENTER ARM REST REPLACED TWICE DUE TO BUBBLING (NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN). ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO I WAS UNABLE TO LOCK MY CAR FROM THE INSIDE. THIS BRINGS UP A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE ALSO INFORMED THE DEALERSHIP THAT MY ACTUATORS ARE GOING AGAIN IN MY CAR. IN AUGUST 2014, THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO PAY SINCE MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY. WHEN I WAS UNABLE TO LOCK MY CAR FROM THE INSIDE I DECIDED TO CONTACT HONDA. THEY REFUSE TO FIX THE ISSUE BECAUSE MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND HAS 83,000 MILES ON IT. EVEN THOUGH THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE SINCE NOV. 2009. MY STEERING WHEEL HAS ALSO CRACKED AND THE CASING HAS HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE VTC ACTUATOR HAD TO BE REPAIRED ( I HAD TO PERSONALLY DO RESEARCH AND DIAGNOSE MY CARS' ISSUE AND FIND THE SERVICE BULLETIN IN ORDER FOR THE DEALERSHIP TO COVER/FIX IT). MY CAR HAS RUN OUT OF OIL AND HAD TO GO THROUGH AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST (YET MY GAUGE STILL SAID 30%). THE ARM REST ON THE DRIVERS DOOR HAS ALSO HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO BUBBLING AND SLICING IN THE "LEATHER". THE COST OF THE BRAKE PADS & ROTORS WERE $328.10. I TOOK MY CAR TO HONDA DEALER IN HAMILTON, NJ ON 3/22/14 FORAN OIL CHANGE. DURING THIS VISIT THEY DID A MULTI POINT INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE AND FOUND STATED THAT THE REAR BRAKES HAVE ONLY 5MM (6/32") LINING LEFT. THE MILEAGE AT THIS DATE WAS 36,995 (10,153 MILES AFTER THE LAST REPLACEMENT OF THE ROTORS AND PADS). I WAS SHOCKED TO HEAR THE LINING HAD WORN DOWN TO THIS THICKNESS SO QUICKLY. UNINTENDED ACCELERATION CONTINUED IN DRIVE GEAR AND AFTER SEVERAL MORE SECONDS, I TURNED THE IGNITION OFF WHILE IN DRIVE GEAR. ENGINE SUCCESSFULLY SHUT OFF AND I CONTINUED TO KEEP FOOT ON BRAKE AND STEERING THE CAR TO A PARKING LOT. AFTER CAR CAME TO A STOP IN PARKING LOT, PUT THE GEAR BACK TO PARK MODE AND PROCEEDED TO START THE CAR IGNITION (I HAVE NOT TOUCHED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AT ALL SINCE REALIZING THE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION HAD OCCURRED). CAR STARTED AS NORMAL WITH NORMAL IDLE SPEED IN PARK. DROVE THE CAR TO DEALER AND HAD DEALER CHECK FOR CODES AND TAKE IT FOR A TEST DRIVE. NOTHING ABNORMAL WAS FOUND DURING CODE READING AND TEST DRIVE. THIS PART IS LOCATED IN THE GRILL OF THE CAR AND ISN'T PROTECTED IN ANY WAY AND THEY DECIDED IT HAD BEEN DAMAGED, WITHOUT PROOF, FROM SOMETHING I HAD HIT, SUCH AS A ROCK. THEY THEN INFORM ME THAT MY FULL WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER IT, AND INFORMED ME IT WOULD COST $432.00 TO REPAIR. THEY ALSO CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT IT WILL NOT OCCUR AGAIN AND AGAIN. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A LIGHT ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL COMES ON OR GOES OFF? YOU LOOK AT IT - TAKING YOUR EYES OFF THE ROAD. THE 'ECO' LIGHT (NOTIFICATION OF CYLINDER DEACTIVATION FEATURE BEING DIS/ACTIVATED) LOCATED JUST BELOW THE TACHOMETER REGULARLY COMES ON AND OFF CAUSING A DISTRACTION. ASKED MULTIPLE DEALERS, THEY HAVE NO WAY OF DISABLING THIS DISTRACTING LIGHT. REAR FRAME WAS NOT BOLTED DOWN TO SPEC IN THE FACTORY CAUSING THE CAR TO BE UNSURE WHILE DRIVING. NUMEROUS BOLTS WERE LOOSE. 2009 HONDA ACCORD LEASED IN 2008 FROM VALLEY HONDA, 4173 OGDEN AVENUE, AURORA IL, 60504. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP DUE TO NOISE COMING FROM BRAKES AND STEERING WHEEL PULLING TO THE LEFT. RETURNED VEHICLE SEVERAL MORE TIMES COMPLAINING OF SAME ISSUE. VALLEY HONDA STATED THERE PER TECHLINE, HONDA IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND IS WORKING ON A COUNTERMEASURE. IN MY OPINION THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHENEVER THE AIR CONDITIONING IS ACTIVATED, THE HEADLIGHTS BLINK. THE LIGHTS STOPPED BLINKING WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS TURNED OFF. JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE, I AM EXPERIENCING BRAKES ISSUE. IT IS WITH GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT THAT I HAD PURCHASED A CAR THAT SQUEALS. I STARTED HEARING THE BRAKES AT 7000 MILES. INITIALLY I THOUGHT MY BRAKES ARE ALREADY DEPLETED BUT WONDERED, WITH SUCH A LOW MILEAGE, IT COULDN'T HAVE BEEN THE CASE. I BROUGHT IT TO THE HONDA SERVICE CENTER AND THEY MENTIONED THAT MY BRAKE PADS ARE IN PERFECT CONDITION AND THE REASON FOR THE NOISE IS THAT THE MATERIALS USED IN MANUFACTURING THE BRAKES MAKES THAT HORRIBLE NOISE. I COMPLAINED AT AMERICAN HONDA AND TALKED TO ALBERT CHAN - THE HIGHEST RANKING CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSON IN THIS REGION (WEST COAST) AND HE SAID, AND I QUOTE "IT IS A NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC OF A HONDA ACCORD TO HAVE THE BRAKES MAKE THE NOISE AS OF RIGHT NOW". HE EVEN MENTIONED THAT AMERICAN HONDA THINKS THAT THIS IS NOT 'YET' AN ISSUE. SAD TO SAY, THEY HAVE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND POOR CAR QUALITY. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE STEERING COLUMN SHOOK VIOLENTLY WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE OR REMEDY THE FAILURE. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT WATER WOULD FREEZE INSIDE THE WHEEL RIMS IN WET, FREEZING CONDITIONS. THE FAILURE CAUSED THE ROTORS TO RUST AND THE BRAKING SYSTEM NOT TO PERFORM AT ITS FULL POTENTIAL. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS INFORMED THAT NO COMPENSATION WOULD BE PROVIDED BECAUSE THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
