There are two locations in the town I live where I am driving under a bridge, and there is a dark shadow on the road from the bridge. My car’s accident mitigation braking system turns on at these locations and suddenly brakes the vehicle. This is not safe as people are traveling speed limit around me and I can cause an accident this way. About a month or two ago, the car behind me almost hit me at one of these locations when my vehicle’s automatic braking system turned on. It was made to prevent accident and brake if there is a vehicle, but because it is braking due to a dark shadow coming, it is not working properly and needs to be looked into. I called Honda and they want me to pay hundreds of dollars at my local Honda dealership for a diagnosis, I do not feel like I should be responsible for that fee as this is a safety feature that is not working as it should and instead making it less safe for me and drivers around me.

My car slammed on its own brakes hard out of nowhere with nothing in its forward. The first time it happened was about 9 months ago while I was driving on the highway, it was a quick moment of breaking without any reason, but the car didn't stop. Today it happened again, the speed was about 30 m/h, the car slammed hard on the brakes to an almost complete stop. I was lucky, nobody was behind.

The contact stated that a warning for the brakes and the collision mitigation and check engine warning lights were illuminated. The contact had the vehicle towed to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the turbo charger needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact retrieved vehicle however, several warning lights were illuminated. The contact parked the vehicle and had not returned it to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed and was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Action Number: EA24002 (Forward Collision Avoidance). The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.

Automatic breaking engaged with foot already pressing down brake pedal as traffic ahead was slowing. The automatic braking was overkill that the traffic that was slowing down ahead of me was now pulling away.

My honda Accord’s automatic braking system suddenly engaged this morning for no reason. The driver of the car following me had to slam on his breaks to avoid rear-ending me. If the other driver had not stopped, we would both have been injured. Honda’s emergency braking system is dangerous. There should be a way to disable it permanently.

The USB port in the center console of my 2022 Honda Accord (VIN: [XXX] ) is physically loose and wobbly, causing intermittent disconnection of Apple CarPlay. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. When CarPlay disconnects while driving, I lose access to my navigation (GPS), requiring me to manually interact with my phone or the infotainment screen to restore the connection. This creates a significant distracted driving hazard. The disconnection occurs unpredictably with minor road vibrations or bumps, meaning it frequently happens at highway speeds. Not yet. The vehicle has not yet been brought in for this specific issue. The problem is consistently reproducible — any slight movement of the USB cable causes disconnection. This is a known and widely reported issue No. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by any of these parties regarding this specific defect. No warning lamps illuminate. The only symptom is the CarPlay interface disconnecting on the screen when the vehicle hits a bump or the cable is slightly moved, indicating the USB port itself is physically loose and failing to maintain a stable connection. The issue began and has persisted since I first noticed it. No prior warning was given before the port became loose. The USB port used for wired Apple CarPlay is physically loose and wobbly, causing the connection to drop with the slightest vibration or road bump. I have tried multiple cables and positions without improvement. Losing CarPlay while driving means losing active navigation, forcing dangerous driver distraction to reconnect. This is a known defect reported by numerous 2021 Accord owners. Honda head unit touch screen is glitching while driving. This causes my navigation system to shut down or freeze and then I am unable to use the touch screen entirely. The dealership has confirmed this as an issue that other people are experiencing as well.

I am reporting a safety-related issue on my 2021 Honda Accord Hybrid involving a failure of the heating and climate control system. The vehicle is unable to produce heat or properly defrost the windshield, which significantly reduces visibility in cold weather. This directly impacts safe operation during winter conditions and should be considered a safety concern rather than a comfort issue. A Honda dealership diagnosed the problem as a heater core failure. The heater core itself is approximately 150, but the repair requires extensive disassembly and is estimated at nearly 2,000 due to labor. This type of failure should not occur on a vehicle this new. I recently purchased the car and do not believe this is normal wear or maintenance. Honda was contacted and denied goodwill assistance, stating they have no record of other complaints. I have since found similar reports from other Accord owners experiencing heating failures, particularly on hybrid models. This failure prevents windshield defogging and makes the vehicle unsafe for winter driving. I am documenting this issue with NHTSA so that the safety implications of heater failure on this model can be formally reviewed. The infotainment screen repeatedly overheats and runs through ghost commands (commands not initiated by the user). This includes repeated, unsolicitated phone calls, texts, radio changes, GPS commands, system tones, etc. This is dangerously distracting and takes the drivers attention off the road ahead. I am writing to formally report a safety concern regarding the infotainment system in my 2021 Honda Accord. The infotainment system in my vehicle is faulty and exhibits consistent glitches that I believe pose a serious safety risk while operating the vehicle. The system frequently malfunctions by freezing, restarting unexpectedly, lagging during operation, or becoming entirely unresponsive. These issues affect critical functions such as navigation, backup camera display, audio controls, and in some cases, the touchscreen completely locks up, forcing me to divert my attention from the road. The system has even placed my iPhone into reset mode. This is not an isolated incident. The problem occurs on a regular basis and seems to worsen over time. I have attempted to address this issue with the dealership, but no permanent fix has been offered, and the system continues to behave erratically. This is highly distracting and potentially dangerous, especially when quick access to vehicle features is needed during driving. I believe this issue warrants investigation, as it undermines driver focus and could lead to an accident. I urge the NHTSA to look into this matter and consider whether a recall or manufacturer fix is necessary to ensure driver and passenger safety. Toyota is recalling 591,377 automobiles because the instrument panel display can fail and not show the driver critical information including vehicle speed, brake system and tire pressure warning lights, which could lead to a crash and injury. Blend door actuator is making a loud clicking noise which indicates the blend door actuator is either broken or going out. This problem will cause the heat and air to not function correctly. This seems to be an issue on several makes and models of Hondas 2019-2021(possibly other years). My Honda has 46,000 miles on and always had scheduled maintenance completed.

I have experienced persistent and frustrating issues with the infotainment system of my 2021 Honda Accord Touring. These problems affect both the usability and reliability of critical in-car technology, impacting daily driving and reduces overall satisfaction. Specifically: 1. Touchscreen Malfunctions Symptoms: Unresponsive screens, freezing, and “ghost touches” (inputs registered without physical contact) disrupt navigation, audio, and other controls 2. System Crashes and Reboots Symptoms: The system may randomly crash, freeze, or restart, sometimes causing the entire dashboard to shut off—even while driving 3. The contact stated that some time after the incident, the vehicle was involved in a crash due to the vehicle jerking and all the lights illuminating on the instrument panel, resulting in damage to the front bumper. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the turbocharger needed to be replaced due to a missing screw. The dealer advised the contact to contact a local independent mechanic for assistance, who performed a repair before the crash. The vehicle was taken to the independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with a loose battery. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 69,000.

Information console glitches randomly and will close out maps, play music, switch input sources, and will call/hangup without driver input. Initially happened maybe 1-2 times a month, however now happens constantly making the entire informatics system inoperable and is very distracting. Honda continues to refuse to make recall repairs. Currently telling me that there is a 4-5 wait for repairs because Honda refuses to supply them. Dealers are telling me that Honda will only send them 10 per week and won't send more until the defective ones are returned to Honda. According to my dealer there are 2,000 other customers in line before me for my repairs. Honda also has a defective HondaLink app that work with car to communicate needed repairs and service. Honda says my car needs a software update, dealer says there is no update, no TSB, and no recall. Why is Honda allowed to drag their feet for years with recalls? 20 dead from the Takata recall alone. Shameful lack of oversite!

Honda, US operations based in CA, continues to refuse to fix their recalled cars. I was notified 18 months ago about an airbag recall for my 2021 Honda Accord. Honda is telling customers that "parts will be ready to fix all affected cars next month", but they are telling their dealers that "it may take 4-5 years to provide them these parts". One of their San Diego dealers told me today that they are just starting to repair a fuel pump recall first discovered 2 years ago. Why is Honda allowed to refuse to make timely repairs to their customers vehicles? Their customers continue to be killed due to their Takata airbag recall from years ago because they continue to drag their feet with repairs. Why is Honda allowed to drag their feet with recalls?

Honda notified me of a recall of a seat sensor for my 2021 Honda Accord over a year ago. The dealers I have called in San Diego, CA have all told me that they have the parts but won’t repair my vehicle because they are only allowed to repair cars with their airbag light on. A year ago rha mase sense, a year later knowing that the dealer is sitting on the parts and aren’t allowed to install them in unacceptable. There is a chronic problem in the US with car owners not getting recalls repaired. I’m trying but being to wait up to 2 more years. This is unacceptable. This recall has devalued my vehicle.

All the lights came on in my car and it wouldn’t accelerate. Brought to dealership and they stated it was a blown head gasket and it was a known problem with the 1.5 turbo cars. There are also 2 others problems that are known problems with these cars and Honda isn’t doing anything about it.

Financed a used 2021 honda accord sport in April of 2024 with 68,671 miles. About a month ago, with no warning signs of any sort such as overheating etc...my car did not want to start, finally started but was sputtering with a rough idle, my dash lit up with like 7 or more warning lights. Including a flashing check engine light. All the were safety warnings from braking system not working, to power steering to emissions failure, etc... and to take to dealership. Got the car to a local mechanic to get a diagnostics reading and was told I had a misfire in cylinder 2. Replaced the #2 coil and spark plug. Thought everything was fine until picking up my daughter from school and then all those warning messages lit my dash up again including the flashing check engine light. Car started sputtering and went into limp mode. Lost power and by the grace of God was able t9 coast off the major Blvd away from traffic and out of harms way. Very, very scary. My life literally flashed before my eyes. Not only my life was in danger but my daughters along with other drivers around me. So I took it back to mechanic and he ran diagnostics again still had a misfire. He could not pin point the exact problem. Took it to the dealership and they confirm it was a faulty head gasket between CYL 2 and water jacket. And they quoted me a price of 5,998. Which i can not afford. And feel Im not responsible for catastrophic major mechanical failure. I maintenance my car regularly thru the dealership so they have record of me properly maintenancing the car. Head gasket failure at 80,000 miles is absolutely unheard of. Until I started researching and come to find out this is a design flaw made by Honda. I was flabbergasted with the amount of people with the exact type of problem. Im afraid that even after repairing this problem that it may happen again down the line. And that would be putting my life in danger. Vehicle is still at dealership being that I can not afford the repairs.

Car says “brake system problem, brake performance may be reduced. See your dealer” and then another one saying “brake hold system problem. Apply brake when stoped. See your dealer” and another one that says “Electric parking brake system problem. Parking brake not available. See your dealer.” And I know quite a few people with accords that are having this issue as well!

I was driving on the freeway and suddenly my ABE brake activated and I was almost being hit in the back . It was happening many times in the past but when I brought the attention to the Honda dealer and it said nothing was wrong with it

Brake noise from rear whenever backing out. After several visits to Space Coast Honda was assured it is nothing. Because it is getting worse and braking involved, I am concerned. This began with purchase of vehicle and continues today. Wrote letter to American Honda Motor Co in July of 2023 but never received a response.

4 out of 5 times driving the car the infotainment screen with get random touches guiding you to unknown menus or system setting or maybe just to a different radio station. Where I think this becomes a legitimate safety concern (asside from changing vehicle settings like security) is when trying to use maps function the random touches will direct the map away from where you are or where your next turn might be. So you basically need to keep hitting re-center just to get you back on course. However most of the time there is an uncomanded touch that is stuck on the screen or possibly a number of touches that prevent a real finger print touch to be sensed ultimately preventing you from re-centering. This causes extended moments where attention is taken away from the road or late/last minute route correction causing unsafe road/driving conditions. The manufacturer only recommends doing a system restart of your infotainment screen which does nothing or complete replacement of the screen which in many cases including my own is not covered by warranty.... the alternative is to disconnect your phone from android auto or apple car play and use it in your hand which again causes distracted driving. If this was something as simple as a volume knob or temperature control not responding I wouldn't even be here but since it always touching different placed and navigating you places you dont want to be i see it as a clear safety issue that should be corrected. This resulted in multiple safety‑critical system warnings, including brake system alerts, ABS/VSA warnings, and Honda Sensing failures. The vehicle also lost acceleration and entered a reduced‑power “limp mode,” creating a hazardous driving situation. The dealership diagnosed the issue as water intrusion into the tail light assembly. The entire assembly had to be replaced at a cost of over $800. After replacement, all warnings and drivability issues resolved immediately.

This problem is seemingly widespread from one google search! The infotainment system screen will randomly start doing “ghost touches,” tapping random areas of the screen which is distracting but also clicking on things that shouldn’t be casually clicked like emergency calling or calling a random number! The screen would end my navigation, mute the speaker, go back, switch to a different app, etc. There is no warning lights or anything. The honda dealerships seem to realize that this is a know issue but will not replace it. They stated that replacing it is doesn’t always work as the problem returns. My car is perfect besides this issue and has never been in a crash.

While driving, all of my dashboard warning lights turn on at the same time. On several occasions, the vehicle has also completely shut off while I was driving, creating a dangerous situation where I lost power steering & braking assistance. I request that your safety/ recall department investigate this issue immediately to determine whether it falls under an active recall or should be added as a new recall. I know several people who has the same issue in my city with the same model car as mines. plus I seen on social media where people who has the model as mines have the same issue.

The contact’s spouse stated that the feature was erroneously activated and deactivated. The contact stated that while the LKAS was activated, the vehicle jerked abnormally. Lanes on the roadway were adjusted for a workzone. Because of these lane adjustments, a large amount of crack sealer was used on the roadway. The car confused the crack sealer as roadway markings and tried to slam on the brakes in a workzone, thinking I was going over the lines, unless I used the turn signal to override the automatic braking, which is the only way I was able to avoid getting rear-ended. This ian't the first time this ecent has occurred in my vehicle.

Lane centering continue to jerk the wheel so hard it almost pulls the wheel out of my hands. In direct sunlight the issue is severe. Honda refuses to fix and wont fix recalls for my Accord. Honda is claiming it will take 4-5 years to fix recall on my car.

A transmission problem occurred shortly after a CVT transmission service was performed at an authorized Honda dealership, Classic Honda of Midland in Midland, Texas. After the service, the vehicle began experiencing abnormal noise, vibration, and harsh driving conditions. The vehicle was later inspected at another authorized Honda dealership, Ocean Honda of Burlingame, California. During the inspection, technicians documented that the CVT transmission fluid had been overfilled and excess transmission fluid had to be drained. After further evaluation, internal transmission damage was identified and the dealership advised that the transmission likely needs replacement. Ocean Honda of Burlingame provided an estimated cost of 10,101.13 for transmission replacement. Attempts were made to resolve the issue directly with Classic Honda of Midland in Texas, but the dealership refused to take responsibility or provide assistance. This condition may create a safety risk due to potential loss of power and unsafe drivability while operating the vehicle.

While driving in heavy rain for most of the morning, I entered an interstate and attempted to pass a semi. The engine lost power as I moved into the center lane. I had to slow down and re-enter the far right hand lane as the engine trouble light began flashing and I had either very little power or too much power to keep the car in a steady state. This out me and my wife's safety at risk as the rain was heavy, and pulling over to the shoulder did not seem to be a good idea since I could keep the car in forward motion in some way. I pulled off at the next exit and we ate lunch and apparently the car reset as the engine light quit flashing and the car acted normally after that. The dealer was approached and said, since the light was off there was nothing they could do. A TSB is out that applies to this problem but the dealer said the manufacturer was contacted and declined a repair.

While driving the automatic brake system randomly starts flashing brake across the instrument panel and begins to brake the car. This does this while there are no other vehicles or any type of obstacles near the vehicle. It also, does it at random caution lights for the fire department on a 4 lane divided highway. There is no way to stop it from doing so. This happens frequently and leaves the driver with no control over the braking system.

I was driving northbound in on I15 in Salt Lake City when a Home Depot Bucket blew into my lane. I slowed down to change lanes when the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) deployed without warning, bringing my car to an almost stop causing a semi tractor trailer to hit me from behind.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The vehicle’s collision avoidance automatic braking system is malfunctioning. It engages unexpectedly while the vehicle is moving with normal traffic flow. The system is still installed and fully available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The automatic braking system activates suddenly and without cause while I am driving at typical speeds (approximately 40–60 mph) with the flow of traffic. This unexpected braking creates a serious risk of rear-end collisions, both endangering me and putting other drivers at risk of crashing into my vehicle from behind. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? I have reported the issue to the dealer, but they have been unable to replicate the problem during their inspections. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? No, the vehicle and its braking system have not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, law enforcement, insurance representatives, or any other third parties. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warning lights, messages, or other indicators were present before the issue occurred. I purchased the vehicle last month, and the problem with the collision avoidance braking system has been present consistently since then.

The Body Control Module has gone out on my 2021 Honda Accord. Yesterday, when it went out, it affected ALL ADAS Features, in addition to key functionality of the car.

I was driving my 21 Honda Accord 1.5T on the highway and all of a sudden vehicle lost the power and Honda sensing / Emission warning lights came on. It almost cause a major accident and I was lucky enough to exit the freeway without incident. I drove to the Honda dealer and they found out one of the wire harnesses was chewed by a rodent which causes the whole issue. I did some research and found out that Honda was using less expensive Soybean base wire harnesses (instead of Petroleum base wire harnesses) to save the planet earth. This Soybean wires are easy target for rodents. This less expensive Soybean wire harness cost about $3000-3500 to replace and it's NOT fair to the consumer. Honda must re-call this Soybean wire harness before causing some major accident, especially on the freeway ( imaging your car losing power while driving 65-70 mph)

Automatic braking has initiated for no reason, at least four times almost causing accidents, car radio sometimes will no shut off, seems to be some type of electrical problem, I have had both issues looked at by dealer who states they cannot find a problem with this vehicle, there is Definitely a problem and it must be found before someone get hurt. auto braking has happened on the freeway, and on residential streets

Note the malfunction described below is CURRENTLY UNDER RECALL for multiple Honda models but has not YET been recalled for the 2021Accord Sport SE. PLEASE ADD TO THE LIST!! I was driving when warning lights flashed, car started to slow down and then shut off. I repeatedly tried to start my vehicle which was unsuccessful. I took my car to Honda and had the low pressure fuel pump changed on 8-1-2024. Today 2-5-2025, it happened again. Seems to be the high pressure fuel pump this time. I did research and this seems to be an issue with a lot of Hondas. Please research and add this to this list. Not to mention my 2021 Accord only has 70k miles

I am reporting a serious safety concern involving my 2021 Honda Accord Sport SE. The issue began at approximately 78,000 miles when multiple warning lights suddenly appeared on the dashboard while driving. At the same time, the vehicle began shaking and had difficulty accelerating. The engine felt unstable and the car struggled to gain speed. I immediately took the vehicle to a mechanic where it was diagnosed with an engine misfire on cylinder 3. The spark plug and ignition coil were replaced. After this repair the vehicle appeared to run normally for a short time, but the exact same symptoms returned shortly afterward. The vehicle again began shaking while driving and experienced loss of power and poor acceleration. This creates a serious safety concern, especially when merging onto highways or driving in traffic where sudden loss of power could lead to an accident. After researching this issue, I discovered numerous complaints from other owners of 2021 Honda Accords describing the same symptoms that ultimately resulted in blown head gasket failures. These complaints appear in the NHTSA database and other consumer forums. The pattern of engine misfires, shaking, and loss of acceleration appears to be consistent across many vehicles with similar mileage. Despite the number of similar complaints, there are currently no recalls associated with my VIN. I believe this may indicate a broader manufacturing defect affecting these vehicles. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue further to determine whether a safety defect exists that could require a recall or other corrective action.

My car ran hot for the first time and I was told my head gaskets were blown and I needed a new radiator. Once I got that repaired I was then told my transmission cooler went bad on my car which caused my engine to run hot and blow my gaskets in addition to cracking my radiator. I keep my car serviced as required with the Honda dealership and they had advised seeing this same issue in several other vehicles like mine. My car has less than 100k miles and I am the only owner. It has never given me ANY warning lights. The techs feel this is a manufacturer defect as my car should not be having this type of issue this soon. That’s the benefit of a Honda as I have owned several new Hondas and have never had any issues. I have done research and there are several forms with this same issue reported. I am attaching the initial work order. I was just advised of the transmission issue on Monday.

Driving on the highway, my dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree. Car started having white smoke at tail pipe. Check engine lit blink 5 times. Had 4 kids under 14 years old in car. Almost got hit trying to merge over. Turns out misfire cylinder 4. Head gasket. Only 81,000 miles. I have owed 5 months. Car currently at Honda, they want almost 4,400 to repair. But apparently, Honda is aware of these HEAD gaskets going prematurely, in 1.5 l. and has done nothing about it. I do not have the money to repair this car on top of how dangerous it was to be driving on the highway.When this happened.

The head gaskets are known to fail on the 10 generation accord. It failed on my 2021 Honda accord ex-l. I left work and while I was driving the dashboard lit up with every possible light. This was quickly followed by the vehicle losing power on the highway. I ultimately got it repaired by a Honda certified mechanic. The mechanic took it to a Honda dealer to confirm it was the gasket, in which it was. There were no warning lamps message or other symptoms prior to the failure. At the time of power loss I was on an 8 lane highway at 70mph. Luckily no accidents occurred, but the failure definitely put my safety at risk along with others. The mechanic I took my vehicle to has all available information if needed upon request.

I am writing to file a complaint on the service that was provided at Vann York Honda. On February 17, 2026, I was returning home from work and my car had a hard idle at start up. I was able to drive it home without issue. The next day, February 18, I got in my car and I had another hard idle start with many check engine codes appearing on the dashboard. I drove it to Vann York Honda in High Point, North Carolina for service. I was told it was a faulty fuel injector causing the problem and that it needed to be replaced. I left the car there over night and paid for the service; approximately 3,000. I got the car back on February 19. On February 20, I again had a rough idle on start up. I brought the car back to Vann York Honda and advised them that I was experiencing the same issue as before. The mechanic brought it to the back and advised me that he could not find anything wrong with the vehicle and that it is running fine. I expressed my concerns with the vehicle and he stated that without a error code or check engine light being on, it would be difficult to diagnose. The technician and the advisor said to keep driving it until a light comes on saying there is a problem since they could not find an issue. in the following 2 weeks, I had regular rough idles on start up and the fuel efficiency dropped approximately 6 miles per gallon. When I filled the car with gas, the fuel range dropped from 540 to 370. When I called about that issue, they said they reset the computer when performing the previous service on the vehicle and it is taking time for the computer to "learn" the car again. On March 6, I brought the vehicle back to Vann York Honda due to many check engine codes appearing on the dashboard. On the way to Vann York, the service advisor called me and stated that she would be reaching out to Honda Corporate to see about Honda paying for some of the cost of this service. My vehicle is currently suffering a failed head gasket. I was alerted about this issue from local mechanics and friends way before it actually happened. I took it to services and regular maintenance even more frequently after that. However, it still failed no matter what. I took it to the dealership, they even admitted that this is a known problem for this generation of vehicle. They still proceeded to ask nearly $7000 to fix it, saying that even though this is a known issue, there was no recalls on the vehicles so they could not waive or deduct the fees.

This Honda Accord Sport SE has had electrical problems from the day I received the vehicle. Every time I went for an oil change at Bommarito Honda I mentioned it to them and they said “yeah the new Hondas do tend to hand a lot of those electrical problems” so with this the problems continued to get worse. Sometimes the buttons do not work, sometimes they do, sometimes the lights don’t work and sometimes they do and sometimes the safety features and break system automated itself. I have slammed my head on the steering wheel on multiple occasions. I believe this needs to be looked into because the malfunction of the car falsely reports danger and caused an accident. Yes every time it malfunctions it flashes briefly and so quickly on the screen .

I saw that they are investigating Honda Pilots for an automatic braking issue. I wanted to report that on my car I’ve had the automatic brake warning come on at least 3 times while driving at highway speed with nothing in front of me. This is over a period of 3 years (my car has 40k). The brakes didnt engage, but it alerts you like it will engage for a couple seconds then the alert goes away. It could be related to the Pilot issue. If the brakes did engage I would likely get rear ended on the highway. So far it hasnt happened but it is scary when it does. And totally random as each time no car within 2000ft

Hello, I have a 2021 Honda Accord Sport 2.0T Engine. The engine has a 2.0 liter turbo. I have had to replace two fuel pumps, which were covered my extended warranty. Another issue that I had to repair, and one that has not fully been resolved is the head gasket. I have been losing coolant at an alarming rate. Every two weeks I have to fill up coolant. I had the head gasket repaired at a Honda Dealership, and this is currently being diagnosed by another Honda Dealership, as I do not want to deal with the Honda Dealership in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Currently, a Honda Dealership in Iowa City, Iowa is handling the issue, but the head gasket along with the cylinder head were originally repaired in October 2025. Since December 2025, I have been losing coolant on a regular basis. I still have 5,000 miles left on my extended warranty, but there have been many owners who have had their head gasket replaced, or are needing replacement, and Honda refuses to acknowledge that there is a manufacturing defect with the engine. The 2.0 liter turbo engine has a major design flaw with it's cooling passages, and Honda has yet to come up with a resolution. Having an engine overheat is a major safety concern! The current dealership is driving my vehicle on a regular basis, in fact the service advisor is driving it to work and back home (35 miles each way) to replicate the problem. At this point, a recall should be issued by Honda, as there is currently a class action lawsuit that has occurred in the state of California.

Car will drive fine , then all of a sudden it shuts completely OFF on the highway which is a MAJOR safety concern. ALL the lights will pop on in the dash board without any warning. Car will act as if it doesn’t want to pick up speed then after about 10-15 mins starts driving fine . This is my second time contacting you all regarding the same issues . I had been driving on the interstate for about 30 minutes on Thursday, 11/7, when suddenly seven of the warning lights flashed in succession on my vehicle, including braking system warnings, emission system warnings, and tire pressure system warmings. I pulled to the side of the road, quite concerned. I called the dealership. The service professional thought it might be the radar on the front camera causing an electrical system malfunction. I was advised by the service technician to drive slowly (about 55mph) and come to the dealership (about an hour away). Upon inspection by the dealer, it was determined that the high-pressure fuel pump in the engine was defective. I did a bit of research: this is the SAME PART that is currently under recall for 720,000 vehicles (2023–2024 Honda Accord and Accord Hybrid, 2025 Honda Civic Sedan and Civic Sedan Hybrid, and 2023–2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid). Please add the Honda Accord Sport 2.0 T, 2019-2022 to the recall list for this issue!

--Automatic braking: When I first purchased car in 2021, the automatic emergency braking engaged abruptly 3 times within the first 3000 miles of driving the car. I was unable to get a resolution through dealer, local Honda service centers or Honda corp. I turn off the feature each time I start my car, but I'm told by Honda service that there is no way to disable feature to prevent safety hazard. --Lane Keeping Assistance: Since purchasing car in 2021, my lane keeping assistance does not work properly and pretty often will actually try to pull the car out of lane both on local roads and more often on the interstate. I have the feature disabled for safety.

Driving on Highway at approximately 65 Miles Per Hour using the Adaptive Cruise Control. Car in front of us took a right hand exit. My 2021 Honda Accord activated the Braking System and applied the brakes, so I stepped on the accelerator thinking it would override the braking system. It had no effect. There were cars behind me at the time and luckily nobody was injured. I looked this up on the internet and found that it is a reported issue. That is why I am contacting you. The lights and warnings below popped up on my dash after the engine light had come on and then off again for about a week. See below, -Emission system problem Avoid heavy acceleration and high speed. Mechanic said it had nothing to do with me and that it failed on its own. I saw that it was a reoccurring problem with other Honda owners with the same year, make, and model as mine but are being given the run around and no solution.

This has been reported one time before but the situation has gotten worse when driving at approximately 60ish miles per hour but it starts doing it about between 50 and 70 mph when driving and the car is using the regular engine not the EV section. You will randomly lose the ability to accelerate and you have to remove your foot from the gas let the engine slow and then re-accelerate now for the second time as I'm driving I lose the ability to accelerate at all and no matter what I do the car will slow almost every warning light on the dash comes on and there are 11 different warnings I've uploaded photos of a few I have a video though also and you lose complete power and ability to drive warning lights such as power steering problem emissions problem powertrain problem all of those are part of what turns on if you try to move the vehicle it will not move unless it is an EV mode and even then it only works for several feet but you can't get over a few miles per hour if you are on the highway like I was going 65 mph and there's traffic is extremely dangerous the only reason I was not hit was because I turn my emergency lights on and was able to maneuver my vehicle to the shoulder safely had I been in a more busy section of the road or had I been in an area where I could not get off the road I would have been hit by another vehicle. Honda has stated they can't find anything wrong with the vehicle but a quick Google search shows that this is a common issue and I have a video of the dash with all the warning lights should anyone need it as well as photos.

I turned my car on and it didn't want to crank up. Once it did crank up every warning light came on. My son ran the code and P00087 came up. I tried to drive my car in my parking lot and it kept stalling like it was going to cut off. Now I drove my car earlier in the day and didn't have any problems. It wasn't until after my car sat throughout the day when this took place. I know it's a recall for fuel pump issues but my car isn't included.

This vehicles have a engineering flaw in the design of the head gasket failing prematurely disabling all components of vehicle at any given time wether it’s in the highway or local the car will basically shut itself down causing a major risk for the driver and civilians even death. This is a safety hazard, tragedy waiting to happen y’all should act now theirs multiple and quiet frankly the Corporation should be taking care of it since they are still allowing them out on the road even with knowledge of this issue the customer should not loose their life nor money to a mass production engineering flaw that’s is over seen by NHTSA, HONDA. I got in to an accident due to my vehicle not being at 100% because of the head gasket issue the cars availability to detect or use its components, mechanically or electrical.

This Honda continues to have fantom alerts and false warnings that triggers the car to jerk the steering wheel and try to steer you into another lane. I have narrowly avoided crashes more than 50 times. No "safety" system should be able to jerk the wheel out of your hands. You have know for more than 5 years about this defect, why no action? Shameful mismanagement that now needs to sued to get a reaction.

The touch screen is malfunctioning. Its "ghost touching" as in the screen is pressing random buttons on the screen at random times while driving. It can change and has changed settings while driving (distance for breaking before a collision, etc). While its touching random things on the screen im unable to touch anything on the screen. As if its locking me from pressing anything.

If im driving at normal rate of speed while on highway the steering becomes very loose and sticky when adjusting steering. The passenger wheel will feel like it wobbles on its camber axis or will act like a shopping cart wheel. At times changing direction of vehicle entirely. At that time suspension will feel really spongy.

Honda continues to repair recalls. They have repeatedly told me I can schedule the recall repair and their broken app says I can schedule my airbag recall repair. But, the Honda dealers in San Diego say Honda refuses to send them parts and there is a 4-5 year delay for repairs. And that they have this issue with Honda for numerous other open years old recalls, no parts. The HondaLink app and the software it communicates with is also malfunctioning and the Honda and the dealers refuse to make repairs. I have contacted multiple dealers to repair the recall. However, none of the dealers have the parts to repair it and does not know when they will have parts. They asked me to keep checking because they will not be contacting me when the parts are available. I am using my vehicle everyday and I have a passenger present at all times. I do not want to get in an accident and have my passengers in danger for a faulty weight sensor. I need to find a fix for this recall as soon as possible.

The infotainment system randomly presses all over the screen all the time. This causes tony of issues such as turning on the radio, changing navigation, and making beeping noises constantly. Honda has replaced the infotainment system twice in my vehicle and it has fixed absolutely nothing. This is a major safety issue because of how distracting it is when driving. The incessant beeping noises (it beeps every time the touch screen is “pressed”) makes it so that I don’t know whether the car is beeping for safety issues (lane assist etc) or not. The radio being turned on at random is extremely startling and has caused me many near accidents. The navigation turning off as I am navigating through traffic has caused much stress and confusion which can lead to an accident. This is a major issue that needs correction ASAP.

As I parked my vehicle all of the dashboard lights turned on simultaneously. My safety is at risk because I can not identify or predict the safety of my vehicle. I have not visited my dealer at this point. I have had a check engine light that would come on and would go away. I’d be told by mechanics that it is a computer issue. My last encounter with this was approximately 2-3 months ago.

The contact owns a 2021 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed low speed, the vehicle lost power steering functionality. The messages "Electric Power Steering Problem" and "See Dealer" were displayed. The contact stated that she pulled to the side of the road. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle, and the contact was able to continue driving. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while driving at low speeds. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle failed to start while pressing the Push to Start button. The contact stated that the vehicle would start after pressing the Push to Start button for an extended period. The contact stated that the failure recurred intermittently. The contact also stated that the speedometer and odometer were malfunctioning and were displaying inaccurate information. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the contact was informed that the failure was not related to the battery, the alternator, or the engine. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 14,888.

I have only had this car 4 months, if that long. I have put very few miles on it. Driving home from work, at most 35 mph, there was a loud thud from what seemed the floorboard followed by a sharp slam of the brakes that i could not control. Many of the instrument warning lights came on. some flashed, some stayed on. I was able to pull onto the shoulder of the road to call for help. However, upon trying to put the car into gear again, it would not move. This is very very disappointing as it was purchased at not only an expensive price, but bought with a promise of your Honda dealership. It is noteworthy that i had just returned home from a trip a day or two prior to this happening. Had this happened unexpectantly in six lanes of traffic, it would have certainly caused an accident or worse. After doing some research, I see there were many defects specific to the make and model of this car. I was never informed of any of them. Please see CVT control information published for reference. I have spoken with the dealership multiple times and I have been unable to come to any resolution concerning this new vehicle, that is unable to be driven. Scary and Dangerous!

I was driving home in the rain and felt the car automatically braking when there was no car or object in front of me. The car was also slow to accelerate because the brakes were automatically applied. 5 miles later numerous warnings appeared on the dash and the following error messages came through my Hondalink app: Electric Parking Brake Problem, CMBS Problem, Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, and RDM Problem. Several times during this drive home the brakes automatically applied without any intervention from me or roadway object. I almost got rear-ended once when a car behind me had to slam on its brake when my car automatically braked without me doing anything. This is a very dangerous condition that should be looked further into as multiple drivers have reported brakes being applied without driver intervention or an apparent road hazard. How many complaints will it take before a recall is issued so other Honda drivers do not need to be put at risk?

Hello, i want to report an issue with my honda accord 2.0t 2021. When i drive in rainy or snowy day all lights come up on dashboard and probably 70% of the futures gets disabled. Things that gets disabled: Back up camera, line assistant, trunk doesn’t open, A/C doesn’t work, windshield wipers spray doesn’t work, high beam doesn’t work, horn gets stuck and beeps and the only way to shut off is to stop and disconnect the battery, otherwise it beeps non stop. We were traveling on California Interstate 5 North. About 5 miles south of Junction 152 the car started malfunctioning. Suddenly there was acceleration beyond my control. I pushed the brake as hard as I could. It felt like the car was going to explode. Somehow miraculously the car landed on the shoulder of the freeway. It missed hitting any other cars or trucks. This was a rental car from Avis. I, my wife and another passenger came very close to death. For several minutes we were just shivering. We decided to slowly get back on the freeway with the hazard lights on. We didn’t was to be stranded in the middle of nowhere. At speeds of under 50 mph we eventually reached our destination. The next morning we again put the hazard lights on and took the car to Avis where we explained what happened. The agent gave us a replacement vehicle and said that they would put the malfunctioning vehicle out of circulation. Speaking to others we found out that Honda vehicles have had runaway acceleration.

Hello, the car has this issue since i got it nrand new. Every time i drive in the rain or while its snowing, all lights on the dash board comes up and at least 50% of the options gets disabled. Like back up camera, windshield vipers, horn beeps non stop until you disconnect the battery and more. I see there is lots of people reporting same issue but honda dont want to help me with this issue. Went to homda dealer and they said $169 for diagnostics, then called and said its gonna be 2 hours which is $338 and even then saying they are not sure if it will take them 2hrs or 10 and i had no choice to tell them to stop and pay only $169. the steering wheel shakes extremely when using the brake. especially at 60 to 65 miles on curves it's awful. (2) throttle is slow to react as if losing power. Apart from small climbs when I stop and release the brake the drive tends to go backwards as if it were a car with a manual transmission. Honda Dealer from downy. Can’t find the problem.

Around 12:30pm last week, we were driving a 2021 Honda Accord on a straight and clear Northbound Freeway. All of a sudden, our car started to swerve left and right a few times, even though my wife tried to keep the car straight. She didn't steer the wheel much, fearing that the car may go sideways or whatever, but she just couldn't make the car straight. I was in the car and saw the dashboard flashing something red and could only remember some words like … hi…lock… In just a few seconds, she hit the barrier/divider separating the Northbound/Southbound freeway. After that, the car went straight and we were able to stop the car on the shoulder. It really put our life in danger but luckily no one got seriously injured. The major damage and concern is: the front left wheel got tucked up into the fender with a snapped lower controller arm connecting the front left wheel to suspension as in the photos. Honda refused to inspect the car because it got into an accident, but it’s clear something of the car likely the front left lower control arm went wrong / defective before the accident. We didn’t see any warning signs before the incident.

Car moving slowly and suddenly races and speeds UP. Hard to STOP it. Has happened twice, 8 to 10 Months apart.. First time was on a small driveway. Was able to STOP CAR , with no damages. 2nd occurrence i was pulling into a parking Space. Foot not on gas or brake and again the CAR accelerated. This Time the CAR hit a handicapped parking sign and pushed it over. The sign stopped the CAR with Assistance from me. There was a small drop in front of the CAR and a tree 10-15 Feet in front of the Hill. The passenger in my CAR would have been in severe trouble had I not gotten the CAR stopped. My husband thought i may have somehow activated the cruise control. But i was going less than 20 miles per hour each time. This could be a deadly problem if a Child or Someone Crossed in front of me.

When turning left or right from/into a parking spot a rubbing sound (similar to two pieces of rubber rubbing against each other) can be heard in the cabin and sometimes from the left wheel well area and slightly felt in the steering wheel. No safety issues are currently present at this time but vehicle should not be having this issue in less than a year of ownership. Vehicle has been taken into Hoen Honda in Carlsbad, Ca 5/28/22 12:47pm. Two technicians inspected the vehicle and were unable to replicate/notice the problem but customer is able to replicate it but was not possible to identify source. Noise was not profound so dealer recommended to wait until noise becomes worse to re-diagnose. Customer has a personal mechanic that recommended they take the vehicle to a dealer due to car having 8k miles and still falling under warranty but did not attempt to diagnose or repair vehicle. No warning lamps or component failure has happened yet but symptoms first appeared around January 2022. When reversing the vehicle and slightly applying the brake a loud groaning sound can be heard from the rear brakes. Due to the brakes being a safety component any noise associated with brakes becomes a safety concern. Vehicle was inspected at the same time 5/28/2022 12:47pm as the steering noise at Hoen Honda in Carlsbad, Ca. Brake noise was not able to be replicated by technicians at the time but was recommended to lubricate rear brakes. If issue persisted customer was advised to return to the dealer for further diagnosis. Brake noise was able to be confirmed by customer's mechanic. Customer was advised to take it in to dealer for diagnosis due to vehicle having 8k miles and car still being under warranty. No warning lamps or other symptom prior to the problem. The problem first appeared in January 2022.

The contact stated that while shifting into reverse there was a loud roaring sound coming from the brakes. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact drove the vehicle to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the rear rotors need to be replaced and that the brakes were overheating. The vehicle was repaired but the sound from the brakes returned. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 21,000.

The contact owns a 2021 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 mph, the steering wheel and brakes failed to function. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated he drove into a side rail and stretched the driver side panel of the vehicle. The contact also stated the rear view camera was not functioning. The air bags did not deploy. The contact stated he did not have any injuries nor seek medical attention. No police report was filed. The contact he was able to drive to his residence but continued to experience the failure on the steering wheel and multiple warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.

I was with my family taking the on ramp to the Long Island expressway, when suddenly the rear wheels locked up and the parking brake was engaged. I hit the brakes. And as fast as it happened is as fast as it resolved. Scared all of us and almost got hit from the car behind us.

The contact owns a 2021 Honda Accord. The contact stated when entering their vehicle. they noticed several small dark circles forming around the front driver side window as well the front windshield which made it difficult for the contact visibility while driving the vehicle. The contact stated after a few days the dark circles would disappear however it comes back intermittently. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer who inspected the vehicle and was told they believe the failure is related to the tinting on the windows that is causing the failure but was not able to provide a fixture for the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. Consumer stated circles appear randomly on six windows. There are wide dark slanted stripes that intermittently appear within the window. Regional Manager stated occurrences had to do with the tinting of the eight windows. Suggestions were made as to what could be done. Either, warranty ,would be extended or, darken the tint, or, replace all eight windows.

I opened the hood to clean leaves collected at the drain. As with my other cars, I thought that the hood would remain in up position. It just suddenly came down with tremendous force. I almost had my hands crushed under the hand. I got lucky but driver's side viper arm broke at the end which I had to get replaced at my expense. I think that Honda should recall and install hood lift supports to prevent serious injury to persons.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TAMERON HONDA (1675 MONTGOMERY HWY, BIRMINGHAM, AL 35216, (205) 236-5414) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN VERIFIED THE FAILURE DURING A TEST DRIVE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD HAD BEEN REPLACED THREE TIMES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT BOTH FAILURES RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. A FIELD REPRESENTATIVE INVESTIGATED THE ISSUE WITH THE WINDSHIELD HOWEVER, NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 5.
