FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

I was traveling on a two lane road at approximately 40 mph when the automatic braking engaged for no reason, bringing the car to almost a complete stop. There were no other cars from either direction.
Oct 07, 2025
In 2 instances the car put on brakes for no reason. Nothing was in front of car. I was traveling roughly 70 mph and car slowed down and brake indicator came on, also going 75 with cruise control on and the system that brakes the car slowed the car down and then just quit working. Warning lights came on saying system failure but after car was turned off then turned back on there were no warnings.

During highway driving the collision system starts to brake without any risk or objects in view. Happen twice within 10 minutes
Sep 07, 2025
Driving along at approximately 41 mph, CMBS unexpectedly activated for no apparent reason. There was no object in road to potentially collide with. Warning system barely activated before CMBS engaged braking very hard. Vehicle went from 41 mph to 31 mph in 2 seconds as recorded on dash cam. This is the 2nd occurrence in the same approximate location, both for no apparent reason & with no object in road ahead. Had an another car been following closely, this would have caused injury.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Gas filler "system" does not have screw on/off gas cap. It has a rubber covering with a slit through which driver inserts gasoline station hose metal nozzle. When removing gasoline station hose nozzle, rubber slit "appears to close" but drops of gasoline remain on the rubber covering & drop onto the vehicle body. I wipe off gasoline drops with paper towel. I'm concerned about large amount of gasoline used & question if "rubber slit covering" provided instead of a tighten screw on/off gas cap allows gasoline/vapor to evaporate & condense on rubber covering of car fuel delivery hose to tank. This occurs in very cold weather as well as warm weather. Recall information on "Honda Fuel Pump" doesn't include this vehicle fuel delivery system issue. Aunt sold me the 2019 Honda Accord Sedan recently on November 19, 2025. I didn't notice this "no locked gas door" (push on gasoline door to open the door) which opens to rubber "pouch with slit" covering over delivery hose filling area down to gas tank. Aunt sees these 2 mechanisms as making filling gas tank easier without release of inside lever lock to gas delivery door nor having to turn a screw cap to open/close at gas station fueling. Aunt is instructed by Honda DarCar/Fairfax, VA to take Honda Accord in for maintenance only once a year. She was told she can check electronics system info regarding "% oil life remaining" as guide to when to get an oil change. A problem at this point is an alterable/'reset-able" electronics guide to when to get an oil change which can change "% oil life remaining" by accidental reset. By comparison, my now out-of-service 2011 Honda Accord had a normal locked gas filling door release from inside which opened onto a screw cap which could be tightened to stop gas vapor leak, evaporation/condensation & for gas theft & vandalism protection & an unalterable "% oil life remaining" wrench icon which resets only after oil change. Honda had a fuel pump recall but the fuel pump issue is causing fuel injectors to go bad. Rough idling and loss of power
Dec 05, 2025
Although my VIN currently shows no open recalls (because the fuel pump recall was previously marked completed), the replacement part failed while driving in traffic, leaving me stranded. This vehicle previously had the low-pressure fuel pump replaced under the Honda recall campaign. On [XXX], the replacement fuel pump failed again while driving in rush hour traffic in North Dallas, causing the vehicle to stall in a live lane and creating a major safety hazard. I attempted dozens of restarts without success. The vehicle was towed to Coit Auto Center ($80), where they performed a diagnostic test confirming low-pressure fuel pump failure codes — the same component that was recalled. On August 16, 2025, the vehicle was then towed ($223) to John Eagle Honda in Dallas (the original selling dealer and recall repairer). Honda and the dealership stated the repeat failure was not warrantable because the recall repair had already been performed once. This is unacceptable. A recall remedy that fails is still a recall compliance issue, not a customer-pay repair. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate Honda’s handling of repeat recall failures. The vehicle requires replacement of the defective pump and coverage of labor costs, as well as a full diagnostic inspection (starter, alternator, battery, ignition, ECU, and electronics) to ensure it is safe for road use after the stall and restart attempts. I had a recall on my fuel pump impeller and Honda replaced the pump AFTER having me wait over 1 year from me beginning to see problems with the car because "they did not have enough parts to go around". After finally receiving a letter stating I could bring the car in to have it replaced I took it to a dealership and had it replaced, by that point, I had experienced the vehicle shutting off while I was driving and having difficulty starting. After they replaced the fuel pump they advised me that the injectors were bad and needed to be replaced. The manufactors knows the part is bad, which is why they discontinued this part and created a new one to replace it, however they're getting out of helping anybody with the cost because they're not recalling them- a simple google search will show thousands of people experiencing this same issue and Honda not taking accountability. The lights on the dash first appeared about a year and a half ago, I called Honda about my recall and they told me they will not replace the part and that it is unrelated (keep in mind this was a phone call- the man had never even seen my car and he told me with certainty this was not related to the recall). The reason I keep mentioning the recall on the pump is because the fuel pump sends the fuel to the injectors, if the injectors are not getting enough, or even getting too much fuel sent to them this will cause them to fail- I believe that due to the faulty pump it caused the injectors to go bad and because Honda made everybody wait to have the recall replaced they should also be recalling the injectors that are also bad and faulty, further support- why would they discontinue a perfectly good part? Because they know the injectors are bad and they're trying to get ahead of this. I opened a good will case with them and they denied it, I'm very hopeful that you will do better research than they did into the circumstances and see the story without bias.

We were sitting at a red light and when accelerating once green a warning appeared on the dash stating the EVAP system was failing and to see dealer. Then more warning appeared stating the following systems were failing, ABS, TPMS, Cruise Control, Driver Assist, Electronic Power Steering. Basically all electronic systems were failing. The car would not accelerate properly. The car would not go over 2500 RPMs making acceleration nearly impossible and the car would lose speed when traveling up a hill. We managed to make it to a school parking lot to safely pull off the road. The car had to be towed to a local mechanic. This all happened with zero warning.

I am the original owner of a 2019 Honda Accord Hybrid that I have taken to Envision Honda of Milpitas. I have been consistently maintaining according to Honda’s recommended service schedule. No prior issues were noted. What happened to it is beyond normal wear and tear (failed head gasket). My car only had 78,731 miles on it when incident happened. I did not have any concerns with the vehicle until 11/12/2025 while driving on Freeway. On 11/12/2025, while commuting home from work in the evening on the freeway, all warning lights came on (10/10 lights, including the check engine light). The vehicle could not exceed 50 mph on freeway, and began rumbling. The vehicle had no prior issues. I exited the freeway with hazard lights activated and contacted AAA for assistance. I took my car to Envision Honda of Milpitas the next day (11/13/2025) was informed that the head gasket was blown off. "Cylinder leak down test done and found head gasket is blown on chamber 1 causing the coolant to leak inside the combustion chamber and causes cylinder to misfire. Recommend to perform teardown and inspection, head gasket replacement and re-check." It was dangerous as I was not able to speed more than 50 mph in the freeway while other cars were going fast. I am currently pregnant and was scared.

I own a 2019 Honda Accord equipped with the 1.5L turbocharged engine. At approximately [142,000] miles, the vehicle began overheating and losing coolant with no visible external leaks. A Honda dealership diagnosed the vehicle with a blown head gasket caused by coolant intrusion into the engine. The repair cost quoted was several thousand dollars. Honda has denied goodwill assistance dates DEC 16, 2025 at 1:35PM, despite documented maintenance and the widespread nature of this issue in Honda 1.5L turbo engines. This failure occurred under normal driving conditions and presents a safety concern due to sudden overheating, loss of engine power, and potential engine failure while driving. I believe this is a known design defect affecting multiple Honda vehicles, and Honda has failed to properly disclose or remedy the issue.

Blown head gasket, car never overheated. Suddenly lost power in highway and car died. Dealership is stating blown head gasket. Seems to be a common issue.

Th head gasket failed in 2019 Honda Accord , it kept misfiring , causing vehicle to not run and shut down . After the dealership fixed the head gasket , it had now caused the turbo to mess up which the dealership said wasn’t covered . It was taken to Honda dealership

I have a 2019 Honda Accord sport 1.5T that has a blown head gasket. I took it to the dealer and opened a case with Honda through their good will program, but was recently denied because they claim there was no manufacturer defect after the dealership inspected it. There seems to be a lot of people that are having the same issues with this engine, and there are a couple lawsuits against Honda regarding it. The car was inspected at a Honda dealership and they diagnosed it as a blown head gasket and quoted the repair of $5200. A case was opened with Honda corporate through their Goodwill program, but was recently denied as not a fault of the manufacturer. The car overheated on 10/10/25 while driving, potentially leading to engine damage

Head gasket blown at very low mileage. Roughly a little more than 80,000 miles on them and head gasket was blown. Car went to Limp mode and caused a safety concern while trying to get to a safe location. The problem has been confirmed by a mechanic and all the lights on the dash lit up at once

Vehicle Information: Make: Honda Model: 2019 Accord Sport VIN: [XXX] Mileage: 90000 Date of Initial Recall repair under service bulletin 19-091: 6/02/2023 Issue Description: Type of Complaint: Non-safety related but performance-affecting system failure (A/C system). Description of the Problem: In 2023, the A/C system in my 2019 Honda Accord Sport began to leak refrigerant due to a faulty A/C condenser and O-rings. The vehicle was repaired under Honda service bulletins (S/B 19-091, S/B 21-014–21-018), which replaced the condenser and O-rings. Within two years of this repair, the same issue has occurred again: refrigerant is leaking from the A/C system, leading to a failure of the system to cool properly. Despite the initial repair being done under warranty, I am being quoted for additional repairs, which suggests a systemic issue with the A/C system. There is no recall issued for this problem, but the fact that the issue has recurred so soon after a factory-approved repair raises concerns about the durability and quality of the parts involved. Safety Impact (If applicable): While this A/C failure is not immediately safety-critical, a malfunctioning A/C system could lead to driver and passenger discomfort during extreme weather, potentially distracting the driver and compromising the vehicle’s overall comfort and performance. The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the parking brake light was intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The warning light continued to illuminate intermittently. Approximately a year later, while driving approximately 30-40 MPH, an unusual odor entered the cabin of the vehicle. The contact inspected the vehicle and noticed that the brake disc on the driver’s side was hot, and the odor was most pronounced; however, the passenger’s side was cool to the touch and did not have the same strong odor. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer confirmed that the VIN was not under recall. The failure mileage was unknown.

On March 22, 2022, while at a stop light the brake pedal started going towards floor. As I was driving, the brake light system came on and went off a couple of times. I called the dealership and the car was taken in on Saturday, March 26th, 2022. When they moved the car, they told me the brakes felt squishy. On Tuesday, March 29th, 2022, I received a call from dealership. I was told the car didn't throw any codes and Honda would not let them fix the brake booster. I was then told, my Accord had a test booster put on it by Honda. I was never notified of this before purchasing car. Had I been told, I would not have bought car. I was told this is normal for the brake system to do, per Honda of North America. If this is normal, how come it started 2 weeks ago and not 3 years ago?? There is something wrong with the brakes on this car and I would like the booster to be replaced. I've been in contact with Stirling Honda in Longview WA who tried to get Honda to approve booster replacement. I've also been in contact with Honda of Burlington, WA as they called to see if I was going to return car or buy it(I'm leasing). Honda of Burlington has been less than helpful. Been told, Honda will not replace and there's nothing wrong with the car. Brake pedal should not be going to floor. When I start car, brake pedal will go to approximately 1" from floor. I've also had issues with car braking on Freeway...there isn't a car in front of me. I have a picture of brake pedal going to floor while my car is parked in my driveway. It is on my cell phone and am not able to attach to this complaint. Can email if needed.

I was highway driving when suddenly a brake light flashed on and off and car came to an immediate stop (then go). There was no use of the brake pedal, nothing ahead of me - and fortunately no one behind be which could have resulted in a serious crash, Safety was a major risk!! Husband checked fluid, car is now "awaiting" inspection at a reputable diagnostic service location. Read an article about these similar defects/complaints, but the Honda dealership claims there have been no like incidents, complaints or concerns. I read otherwise that indicated such events were under investigation (CNN Wire Feb 27,2002). When I called another dealership, they explained that there were not enough complaints to warrant a (safety recall). I beg to disagree!! Today's date is 11/04/2023. Thank you.

The vehicle, a 2019 Honda Accord, experienced a catastrophic engine failure (blown head gasket) and entered "Limp Mode" after being operated for approximately 18 months with an unaddressed, high-priority federal safety recall (NHTSA 23V-858). The vehicle currently displays DTCs P0100, P0113, and P023D, which indicate severe air/fuel metering and boost pressure correlation failures. Primary Cause: Consequential Thermal Stress The primary cause is likely thermal degradation of the head gasket resulting from a prolonged "lean-burn" condition. Recall Defect: The recalled fuel pump impeller is known to deform, restricting fuel flow. Lean Condition: A restricted fuel supply causes the engine to run "lean" (too much air, not enough fuel). Lean combustion is significantly hotter than normal combustion. Heat Accumulation: Over 1.5 years of operation with this restricted flow, the engine experienced repeated, excessive thermal cycles that compromised the structural integrity of the head gasket. Limp Mode Trigger: The stored codes (P0100/P0113) show the ECU was struggling to compensate for the erratic fuel/air environment created by the failing pump. Secondary Assessment (The Dealer's Claim): The Service Advisor (Paul) has alleged that aftermarket components and a missing turbo gasket caused the failure. Assessment: While aftermarket parts increase scrutiny, a missing external turbo gasket typically causes an exhaust leak or loss of boost, not an internal head gasket failure. Contradiction: The dealer must provide empirical proof that these parts caused the failure, whereas the NHTSA recall is a pre-documented, manufacturer-admitted defect known to cause the exact stalling and "limp mode" symptoms the vehicle is currently exhibiting. Conclusion: The most probable cause is manufacturer negligence. By failing to provide a remedy part for 18 months, the manufacturer forced the vehicle to operate under a documented defect that creates the exact high-heat conditions required to cau

DEFECTIVE FUEL PUMP FROM FUEL PUMP RECALL LED TO FAULTY FUEL PUMP INJECTORS, WHICH LED TO ALL WARNING LIGHTS TO COME ON AT THE SAME TIME. HONDA IS REFUSING TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY OF FAULTY PARTS THAT PUT THE CONSUMER AT UNNECESSARY RISK OF INJURY.
Nov 24, 2025
My vehicle’s fuel delivery system failed after a recall repair. The in-tank fuel pump was replaced under recall by the dealer, even though I had no drivability complaints, no warning lights, and a full inspection that day confirmed no issues with my vehicle. Immediately after the recall pump replacement, the vehicle developed drivability problems including sputtering, hesitation, and failure to start. On one occasion, the underside of the car overheated and exhaust fumes, including carbon monoxide, entered the cabin. The interior filled with heat and fumes, I became lightheaded, dizzy, and shaky, and nearly lost consciousness while driving. My dog, who was with me, vomited and panted heavily from the exposure. I had to pull over and exit the vehicle immediately. This incident occurred only after the recall pump was replaced and points to faulty installation or malfunction of the recall component, which disrupted the fuel system and caused improper combustion and exhaust handling. On another occasion, the vehicle stalled in the middle of an intersection, leaving me at serious risk of being hit by cross traffic. The car now shows a high-pressure fuel pump fault. Although the in-tank pump and the high-pressure pump are in different locations, they are part of the same system: the in-tank pump supplies steady fuel volume and pressure directly to the high-pressure pump. If the in-tank pump is defective, mis-installed, or inconsistent, it causes the high-pressure pump to fail. This made my vehicle unsafe to operate, placing me, my passengers, and other drivers at risk. The problem has been confirmed by the dealership, which documented a high-pressure fuel pump fault, and reviewed by Honda Corporate. Components and service records are available for inspection. There were no warning lamps, messages, or drivability issues prior to the recall service, all symptoms appeared immediately afterward.

This needs to be addressed. EVERYONE knows NOW that there is a high incidence of Head Gasket failure with Honda. The Honda head gasket class action lawsuit includes the following vehicles if equipped with 1.5-liter or 2.0-liter i-VTEC turbocharged gasoline direct injection engines: 2018-2022 Honda Accord 2016-2022 Honda Civic 2017-2022 Honda CR-V 2021-2022 Acura RDX 2019-2022 Acura TLX I got an "approximate cost" for a head gasket repair on a 2019 Honda Accord, of $3000 from the Honda dealer after previously getting a $3559 from an independent. The dealer just came back to me with an estimate of $5781.32. I check reliability ratings before ever buying a car. It's a Honda! If they are not willing to do the right thing, maybe they should be made to? This NEEDS to be a recall. Do you even know how many Americans have been affected by this? Including those that haven't complained or reported it?

The vehicle was previously repaired for a head gasket failure; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 196,000.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. The contact was able to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway and the vehicle was towed by a family member to the contact's residence. The vehicle was diagnosed by an independent mechanic, and it was determined that the pump kit had failed and needed to be replaced. The local dealer was contacted, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V214000 (Power Train) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the pump kit was replaced but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000.

I drove my 2019 Honda Accord EX-L from my house, about ¼ mile, to a stop light. I noticed that the outside temperature readout on the dash, which started out at 28 degrees, was rapidly rising. By the time the light turned green, the outside temp read 42. After driving several hundred feet the readout dropped back to 28 degrees. After traveling about 1 mile more, at either the next or 2nd red light I came to, while idling, I noticed the car was vibrating. I put the car in neutral, raised the engine speed slightly, and the vibrations went away. I placed the transmission back into drive, and when I went to accelerate, the car would not go faster than about 10 MPH, and the “malfunction indicator light” came on. I was able to make a U turn and head back towards home. Even at 3000 RPM the car was going about 10 MPH, but I noticed if I took my foot off the accelerator, as the RPM’s were winding down, it was like the transmission engaged just a little, enough to speed up an MPH or two. If I gave it gas again, I was back to about 10 MPH max. I limped back to my home, and had to leave with my other car for an appointment. While I was away, my wife heard the Honda’s horn in our driveway continuously honking. She went to the Honda and when she grabbed the driver side handle, the honking stopped. That afternoon I had the car towed to Troy Honda. When they drove it, it worked fine, and they got no hits when they scanned the computer. I picked up the car without the problem found or solved. The service manager said without it acting up on their test drive and nothing showing up on the computer, there was nothing they could do. How can the malfunction indicator light come on, and then leave no code to be read? This is definitely a safety issue. This problem could be deadly if it happens, for example, when I am in the middle lane on an interstate. At the least this problem could leave me stranded who knows where. This is serious. This is dangerous. In my opinion

In December 2024, all of the lights on my dashboard came on & my car would not accelerate. The code indicated that it was a "Cylinder 2 Misfire." I replaced the ignition coil for cylinder 2 but my car continued to have the same issues. I had all 4 ignition coils replaced and all 4 spark plugs. In March 2025, all of the lights on the dashboard came on again with the car not accelerating properly. I had it looked at again, was told that it was a "Cylinder 2 Misfire" again but all 4 ignition coils were working properly. A spark plug was replaced at that time. Then, in May 2025, the car did the same thing with all of the lights coming and the car would not properly accelerate. The car again read that there was a misfire with "Cylinder 3" but all of the ignition coils worked properly. I had the fuel injectors replaced and another spark plug replaced. The car didn't even make it 24 hours before all the lights came on again. The RPMs in the car now go past "3" but will not accelerate & shift gears. The Honda Dealership has advised me that the head gasket needs replaced. My car has 74,000 miles on it. I had it inspected April 2024 with no head gasket issues & the car was at 64,000 miles approximately. So, in 8 months' time, the head gasket was blown & the car is well under 100,000 miles. I have been told that the engine my car has, 1.5L turbo with Honda has had this issue to the extreme that a class action lawsuit has been filed as Honda refuses to do any time of recall or assist with repairs. I literally had to drive with my 4 ways on to avoid being hit in an intersection due to the inability of my car to accelerate. The NHTSA needs to investigate Honda & determine if they are defrauding consumers by refusing to issue a recall due to this common & dangerous issue. I have owned 7 hours in the 30 years I have had a driver's license & never once had a head gasket issue or any issues to this extreme. I have never replaced a head gasket in any car that I have owned.

All of a sudden I was driving and every light on the dash lit up the car starting stalling and shut off We replaced the spark plugs and the coils because they told us that was the problem and it's still doing the same thing quite a few people that are having this issue got a recall letter.. I never received a recall for this problem And every time I put my VIN number in it's saying zero recalls something is wrong this is not safe for me and my children

The car won't "turn over" or start because it's there is not enough or no fuel being delivered to the engine. Fuel is not being delivered significantly enough for the engine to start. Towed to the local dealership to have the fule pump replaced. However, when the parts neede to fix/replace the fuel pump are not avaliable for months. When they tried to have the part delivered they we told no because it could not be proven to he the problem. The repair manager told me they didn't have time, interest or the personel to continue the process and I had to tow it from the dealership to an independently local repair shop where it remains indefinitely.

Steering wheel can not turn steering wheel anymore
Jul 07, 2025
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact became aware that the electronic power steering was not functioning properly, requiring an increased effort to maneuver the vehicle. The service power steering warning light was illuminated. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 65,000.

Stearing Column makes a clicking sound when you move the wheel during stearing
Apr 28, 2025
Car drifts to left in any lane while driving on highway. You have to hold the wheel firmer to the right to keep it straight at highway speeds than on local roads. Was not like this new, but with 35K miles something is wrong. Alignment done by two different Honda Dealers who had different print outs from a Hunter Alignment Machine. Second dealer’s helped some but you get a arm workout driving this car and unsafe for my wife to drive.
Mar 24, 2023
The car’s steering wheel doesn’t respond to driver’s input correctly causing the car to constantly wander around within the lane. It is impossible for the driver to keep the car centered within a highway lane. In creates an increased chance of hitting nearby vehicles. Also, it requires the driver to focus mostly on centering the car inside the lane and less time on wider observation of the surroundings. During an emergency maneuver to avoid any object on the road, the car may not respond to the driver’s input as intended. As shown in the attached video, as the driver tries to turn the steering wheel clockwise from the centered position, the steering wheel doesn’t move a bit as if something is tightly holding it. When more turning force is applied by the driver, the steering wheel loosens up instantly which creates an over turning of the car. Although the degree of the movement appears small in the video, this is big enough to noticeably shift the car within a highway lane. I am very afraid that if the car will let driver turn the steering during an emergency situation. This problem happens with all the active safety system turned off including lane departure warning and lane keep assists. The problem is more reproduceable in certain condition. The temperature should be around 50 degrees or below. The car must be driven for 30min or longer on highway at around 70mph. The steering wheel must be turned from the centered position. The car is available for inspection upon request. Other Honda Accord and civic owners seem to experience the same problem as discussed in Internet forums. I took the car to the dealer and they couldn’t reproduce the problem or stated that it is within design specification. There haven’t been other problem in the car to cause this behavior. I purchased this car new and the problem started after a year of ownership.

THE POSITIONING OF THE WINDSHIELD MOUNTED CENSORS BOX AND THE REARWARD VIEW MIRROR CREATE A FORWARD TO THE RIGHT BLIND SPOT THAT OBSTRUCTS VIEWS OF ONCOMING PEDESTRIANS IN THE WALKWAY COMING TOWARDS YOU AS YOU ARE NEGOTIATING THE VERY BEGINNING OF A RIGHT HAND TURN, LEADING TO POTENTIAL PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT AND VERY ANGRY PEDESTRIANS WHO DO NOT REALIZE THEY HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY NOT TO WALK RIGHT THROUGH YOUR DIRECTION OF TRAVEL. IN ONE INCIDENT, THE PEDESTRIAN, WHO DID NOT COLLIDE WITH ME, THEN ASSAULTED MY CAR IN UNCONTROLLED ANGER SIX TIMES WITH FLAT HANDS TO THE RIGHT SIDE OF MY CAR TRYING TO CAUSE DAMAGE. IT IS NOT ADVISABLE TO TRY AND REPORT SAME TO POLICE SINCE THE POLICE MIGHT ACCUSE YOU OF STRIKING THE PEDESTRIAN WHO SCREAMED OUT OF CONTROL AND ASSAULTED YOUR VEHICLE. THE REAR VIEW MIRROR NEEDS TO BE ELEVATED, OR ALL ACCORDS EQUIPPED WITH FULL TIME SELECTABLE REARWARD CAMERA, NOT JUST THE TOP END MODELS AS THIS IS A SERIOUS VEHICLE DESIGN FLAW, THE CENSOR BOX SHOULD BE MOVED TO FRONT OF THE HOOD MOUNT, IT IS OBSCURING A LOT OF VISION FOR ANYONE 5"10" OR OVER. I AM 6'2":. THIS IS THE FIRST OF ABOUT 12 ACCORDS/ODDS/PILOTS I'VE OWNED OR LEASED WITH THIS HUGE A VISION OBSTRUCTION RIGHT IN MY RIGHT CENTRAL FRAME OF VISION. I WOULD NOT HAVE APPROVED THE LEASE HAD I KN OWN ABOUT THIS OR THE EXTREME RIGHT HAND BIASED PLACEMENT OF THE GAS/BRAKE PEDALS WITH RESPECT TO THE TRANSMISSION HOUSING AND MY KNEES, CREATING A PRESSURE OBSTRUCTION THAT SLOWS DOWN HITTING OF THE BRAKES. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME. THIS GUY WENT HAYWIRE AND DID NOT REALIZE HE WAS OBSTRUCTED BEHIND THE CENSOR BOX AND REAR VIEW MIRROR, SO HE ASSAULTED MY VEHICLE SIX OR MORE TIMES WITH OPEN HANDS TRYING TO DENT THE VEHICLE. CAR WAS DRIVEN AND THEN PARKED IN A GARAGE BY ME. NOTHING HIT THE WINDSHIELD ON THIS OR ANY PREVIOUS DRIVE. WHEN THE CAR WAS LATER PULLED OUT OF THE GARAGE, IT HAD A 14" CRACK FROM THE UPPER PASSENGER SIDE CORNER TOWARDS THE CENTER OF THE WINDSHIELD. I bought this car and after only owning it for eight months, as I was driving down the freeway, every light on my dashboard lit up, and my car slowed down. I was able to pull to the side of the road, but I could no longer drive my car home and I was commuting. Since the first incident, I have repaired my car having the coil repaired spark plugs, and regular maintenance in the last eight months that I have owned the car and now my turbo charger needs to be replaced. I took it into two different mechanic shops. My car is only at 130K miles this should not be causing an issue with a Honda now I cannot find anyone to repair it without costing me $2000 plus.

While driving my 2019 Honda Accord at approximately 65 mph on the highway, the car suddenly lost power, went into limp mode, and the steering wheel locked up. I was unable to turn or control the vehicle, which resulted in another car crashing into me. I sustained injuries in the accident and required medical attention. The incident was extremely dangerous and could have been fatal. After being towed to Russell & Smith Honda, they confirmed a blown head gasket was the cause of the failure. This issue is already the subject of a class-action lawsuit due to known design flaws in the 1.5T engine. Honda only offered partial assistance, leaving me responsible for thousands in repair costs. This vehicle is unsafe and needs to be investigated immediately.

Driving on the highway at speed. Started to accelerate to pass. After a very brief moment of acceleration, it stopped accelerating. Engine light started flashing on the dashboard. Due to loss of propulsion, myself and one passenger were almost rear ended. I then engaged emergency flashers. Had to navigate multiple semi trucks on my right to coast to the shoulder. Once stopped on the shoulder of the highway, I turned off power to the vehicle, waited a couple minutes and re-started the vehicle. Vehicle started, engine light was no longer on. Drove away. Took vehicle to a Honda dealership the next morning. They kept the vehicle for a week and could not replicate the issue or find anything wrong upon inspection.

UPON DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY USING ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL AND LANE KEEP ASSIST, THE 'COLLISION MITIGATION: BRAKING SYSTEM PROBLEM. SEE YOUR DEALER' MESSAGE POPPED UP. HONDA SENSING FUNCTIONS WERE ALL DISABLED AS WELL AS REGULAR CRUISE CONTROL. THIS HAPPENED ON A CLOUDY EVENING AS THE SUN WAS SETTING. NO RAIN OR INCLEMENT WEATHER. MESSAGE WENT AWAY ONLY AFTER PARKING THE CAR, TURNING IT OFF AND RESTARTING IT. TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT INSPECTED BUT THE DIAGNOSTICS TEST CAME BACK INCONCLUSIVE AS THE COMPUTER WAS UNABLE TO DETECT ANY CODES. Wednesday 10/01/25 I was driving to work on the highway with cruise control on, it was a empty road with nothing in front or behind me, my steering wheel got yanked out of my hands and turned all the way to the right towards the guard rail, then the steering wheel got yanked all the way to the left automatically, I did a 180 degree spin and crash my 2019 Honda Accord Touring 2.0L. I believe the Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) was at fault as well as the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS). The vehicle got towed off the highway directly to a local body shop. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Mine and others safety was put at risk because the vehicle decided to crash itself potentially killing me or other people. The vehicle just arrived at the body shop and no diagnosis has been done yet. The vehicle is not drivable so the problem has not been reproduced. Vehicle has not been inspected and looked into yet, I am waiting for the body man to do a deep dive into it or I am planning on bringing it back to the dealership. There was no warning lamps present.

I bought this 2019 Honda Accord on June 30th from a company called Greenville Motor Company. July 1st, I took the car to the Honda dealership to get a diagnostic to make sure everything was in good shape. The technician I spoke with did notice the car & stated that it had a problem with the previous owner which was the Injectors. She told me that the light may not come on now but it may come on in the future. After I left the Honda dealership, I went to Greenville Motor Company & showed them the diagnosis I had done at Honda. He said he didn't see anything wrong. On July 2nd, all of my dashboard lights came on. Took it back to Greenville Motor Company, the tech there said I could pick it up July 3rd & drive it over the weekend. (basically he reset the lights so they wouldn't come on for a certain period of time).Within this time period I took it back to the Honda dealer & they told me that I also needed a turbo, they gave me the printout for that as well. Took it to Greenville Motor Company, they agreed that I did. need a turbo. Manager says he ordered turbo. I I don't remember the date I took it back but on July 12th, my dash lights came on again. I took it back to Greenville Motor Company July 14th, July 18th Greenville Motor Company called & said something on top of the turbo wasn't screwed on thats what was triggering the turbo code to show, so he never put on the turbo that he ordered I had it 2 hours & my dash lights came on again.

On March 21st, 2022, I was driving between 35-40mph in clear conditions. I had adaptive cruise control, and lane mitigation on. My vehicle flashed “BRAKE” on the instrument cluster and HUD. The vehicle slammed on the brakes. The braking force was strong enough to lurch me forward and in the process of the vehicle braking, my steering wheel veered to the left and I almost hit a divided barrier. There were no cars in front of me or any obstructions in the way that would have activated the emergency braking. This is the second time in a year my car has done this, but the first time that the braking changed the vehicle’s direction.

On 01-31-2023 at 5pm my Accord (2019, 27k miles) experienced a limp mode condition on the Highway forcing me to pull over onto the shoulder and restart the car. I was traveling for 4+ hours in rain / misting rain on the way to North Carolina for a business trip. I went to pass a slow moving vehicle, and the car’s check engine light began to flash 2 seconds after I hit the accelerator. The car’s check engine light began to flash and the car would not exceed 40mph, indicating it had entered a limp mode condition. This forced me to pull over onto the shoulder. After a restart, the car performed as normal with no CEL. I took the car to Advance Auto parts to see if the ECU captured any codes - 3 “pending” codes were stored - P0300 random misfire, P0301 Cylinder 1 misfire, P0304 Cylinder 4 misfire. I took the car to Shockley Honda in Frederick MD on 02/06/2023 and the pending codes had cleared / a diagnosis of possible traction control engagement was given - I am 100% certain this was the check engine light / limp mode, and that this is an incorrect diagnosis. Honda has a TSB for this exact issue: https://www.driveaccord.net/attachments/a21-052-pdf.531063/ Additionally I have dash camera footage to collaborate my account of events, including the event occurring; pulling over on the side of the road; and the trip to advance auto, where you can hear me reading the codes Car entering limp mode on highway: https://youtu.be/1E9RKIH-MnM Drive to advance auto: https://youtu.be/esqrADVXfsA Reading codes: https://youtu.be/5fN10jBiChw Multiple other owners have experienced similar issues in similar weather conditions in their 2.0T Accords https://www.driveaccord.net/threads/check-engine-light-cel-in-the-rain-went-into-limp-mode.502130/page-11 This incident lead to unsafe vehicle operation through a loss of power scenario in adverse weather. As I was driving down the interstate, it had been raining hard, but the speed had increased and we were going around 70-75, speed limit 70. I was in the far left lane when the lane all of a sudden was ending. I had to work my way over fast, so i kicked it to move over to the next lane, and when i did, I lost ALL power in the vehicle. I was terrified !! I did have enough speed to get over one lane but there was a lot of traffic and i had to get over another one to stop on the shoulder. It was close but we did get over and stop without causing an accident. If I had of hit someone or someone hit me, it would have been a multi car accident with all the traffic and probably someone being killed, including my husband and I. This needs to be investigate before someone is killed .

My car was initially at Performance Honda due to engine failure on June 24, 2022. They called on July 20, 2022 and confirmed that my car engine was repaired and I picked it up on July 20, 2022. Then on July 23, 2022, I incurred the same engine failures as noted by the warning and error lights on my display panel. The car started slowing down while I was on the expressway creating a safety hazard but I was able to drive it to Performance Honda. The manager explained that the car needed a turbo and they had to asked Honda to approve the purchase to install it into my car. I dont know if the turbo is new or used or even under warranty but Performance Honda contacted me on August 8 and said again the engine was repaired. I've read where there are other owners experiencing similar issues. My car was still within warranty of my purchase date July 17, 2019 and the repairs were made under the warranty but I still incurred rental car expenses that have not been reimbursed to date.

The contact stated that the failure had occurred twice with the rear passenger’s side tire, and once on the front driver’s side tire, each with a different tire brand. On the last occasion, the contact stated that while driving at 75 MPH, the tire pressure warning light illuminated on the instrument panel with a burning rubber odor coming from the vehicle. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.

The wheels on the Honda Accord stick out further than the tires thus get scuffed up easily. I had them repaired once shortly after purchasing the car but it was pointless. I believe everyone who has driven the car has damaged the wheels further by accidentally hitting a curb.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN FAIRFOREST ROAD IN SPARTANBURG. I TRIED TO SWIFTLY DRIVE AROUND A SMALL POTHOLE AND ONCE I DID I HIT AN EVEN BIGGER HOLE THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE EDGE OF THE ROAD BUT WAS MISSING. IT BLEW MY TWO RIGHT TIRES AND ALSO BENT THE ACTUAL METAL PART OF MY WHEEL. THE RECEIPT PICTURED WAS TO REPLACE MY RUBBER PART (TWO TIRES) AND THE TOWING EXPENSE. I'LL HAVE TO GET THE METAL PART REPLACED OR REPAIRED. I DON'T HAVE A QUOTE FOR THE REPAIR BUT TO REPLACE IT COMPLETELY WILL COST $500 MORE DOLLARS.

After the vehicle misfiring , kept changing spark plugs and coil , as well the vehicle shutting over while driving on the highway , having to get it towed and then finally able to get to dealership , Honda said the head gasket failed , so after the head gasket replacement and getting it fixed for $5K, it started to make a noise rattling , took it back to dealership and they said it was the Turbo when I took it back to dealership , they said it was failing , it was not making a noise until after head gasket replacement . The dealer said the turbo messing up wasnt from head gasket replacement , but I’m very aware it’s possible and there was absolutely no noise before replacement of head gasket !

While driving ~40 mph call all of a sudden lost power in middle of busy street, was not able to steer or drive (pedals weren't working to provide power). I pulled off to side and saw check engine light blinking and warning message pop up about Brake system not working. I turned the car off then turned it back on and worked normally and was able to drive home.

While I was driving my car on the highway doing the speed limit of 60mph my car lost complete power and lost speed to below 20mph and would not gain speed. I pulled over on the highway turned the car off and back on. It begins driving again normal. The next morning it was mis firing so I took it in to the dealer and this is what I was told after getting a diagnostic check: FOUND CYLINDERS 1 AND 4 LEAKING COOLANT FROM THE HEAD GASKET. I RECOMMEND REPLACEMENT OF THE HEAD GASKET, FUEL INEJECTORS, AND SPARK PLUGS. HEAD MAY NEED RESURFACED. INCLUDED IS ALSO OIL CHANGE

On May 13, 2025, I took my car to the Honda dealership, because all of the lights on the dashboard came on. I was told that the clips on my turbocharger needed to be replaced, and so Honda fixed that $120 (diagnostic fee) $209.99 to fix the issue. I was traveling so they kept the car for a week. I received the car back, and about 2 weeks later, 06/03, the same thing occurred, I was told that the engine air filter needed to be changed, and it caused the lights to go off $32.84. The next day 06/06, the lights went off again. I took my car back to the Honda dealership and they had the car from 06/09 - 09/04. Today they have reached out to say “It took a while to recreate the issue because they are ‘masking each other.’ There is a leak in the head gasket, and the turbocharger is going out.” It would be cheaper to buy a used engine and used turbocharger than to have it rebuilt.” I have spoken with other Honda owners, who have a 2018-2022 Honda accord, that have experience the same issue.

My vehicle makes a humming noise while driving. The humming noise is heard about 3 times in a row then a pause then 3 more hums, while driving but seems to be louder at around 50mph +. My vehicle has 56k miles an it and it has had that sound since I purchased it used with about 30k miles. I have been doing research on it but have not been able to figure out what causes the humming noise nor what the resolution is to fix it. I have heard about the Adaptive Noise control but I hear it even with the windows down and the music off.

In the past 2 months my car starting having rough idle issues. As recommended by the dealership, I replaced the head gasket as they said it was leaking coolant into the cylinder causing the rough idle. Almost immediately after paying for this, the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree with multiple warnings and the car went into limp mode, lost acceleration and would have been extremely dangerous had we been on the interstate or multi lane road. Took it back to the dealership, ran another diagnostic and determined the fuel injectors needed to be replaced. These repairs cost over $5,000. Recalls have already been put in place for models around this one and Honda should acknowledge these problems as it is wide spread.
Sep 30, 2025
I have taken my car to the Honda dealership on multiple occasions because my car has stopped accelerating while driving on the interstate. The car will flash the check engine light and completely stop accelerating while driving. I was first told it was the fuel pump that was recalled and waiting over a year on the recalled part and multiple times breaking down while driving they finally replaced the part. After the dealership replaced fuel pump I continued to have problems unfortunately happening more often and worse than before replacing the fuel pump. I was then told my car was misfiring and needing a tune up which would involve replacing all four coil packs and spark plugs. I replaced all of these recommended parts with no resolution to my problem. I have since be told by the dealership my car needs all four fuel injectors replaced after running the diagnostic tests. After doing research it seems to be a common problem with this make and model car. I can’t believe with as many cars with this same issue and the safety issues with completely stalling in the middle of traffic there are no recalls on these cars.

WE BOUGHT A BRAND NEW HONDA ACCORD 2019(LX) ON JUNE 29, 2019. NOT EVEN A MONTH LATER I.E. ON SATURDAY, JULY 27, 2019 AT 7:49 PM MY HONDA ACCORD STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY DUE TO UNKNOWN REASON. BEHIND US WAS A TRUCK AND WE WERE AT 70 MPH HIGHWAY, WE WERE ABOUT TO BE HIT EITHER BY THE TRUCK OR BY THE CAR ON THE RIGHT LANE. THANKS TO THE TRUCK DRIVER AND THE PERSON DRIVING THAT SUV WHO STOPPED IN TIME. WE MERELY ESCAPED DEATH LIKE SITUATION. POST THAT I CALLED HONDA ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE AND THEY ASKED ME TO MOVE TO A SAFE LOCATION AND CALL THEM AGAIN. I TRIED TO DRIVE THE CAR AGAIN AND DROVE COUPLE OF MILES WHERE MY CAR FINALLY STOPPED MOVING AND SMOKE STARTED COMING FROM THE EXHAUST. SCARED WE QUICKLY EVACUATED THE CAR AND MOVED TO A SAFE LOCATION AT 8:23 PM. POST THAT COPS CAME TO ASK WHY WE STOPPED THERE, WE EXPLAINED THEM THE SITUATION. WE WERE TOLD TO STOP THE ENGINE AND WAIT THERE TILL THE TOWING CAR ARRIVED. I HAD SO MUCH TRUST IN HONDA AND WE ARE SO TRAUMATIZED WITH THIS SITUATION AND I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE HOW THIS HAPPENED. THIS IS A BRAND NEW CAR WITH TOTAL MILES OF 657 MILES. I DIDN'T EXPECT THIS FROM A BRAND-NEW CAR. WE WERE LUCKY ENOUGH TO ESCAPE DEATH ON THE HIGHWAY. WE WERE EXHAUSTED AND TERRIFIED WITH THIS EVENT. YESTERDAY HONDA SERVICE CENTER COMPANY CALLED AND TOLD THAT THE THE TURBO CHARGER FAILED INTERNALLY, CAUSING OIL TO GO INTO THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. THIS CAUSED CONTAMINATION OF THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND DAMAGED THE OXYGEN SENSORS. I AM NOT SURE IF I CAN OR ANYONE CAN TRUST HONDA EVER AGAIN. IF SOMETHING WOULD HAVE HAPPENED TO ME OR MY FAMILY WILL HONDA BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS. QUESTION IS DO YOU STILL TRUST HONDA ?

We own a Honda Accord with approximately 39,405 miles on it when we took it to the Bob Howard Honda Dealership located at 13201 North Kelley Oklahoma City, OK 73131 for repair/diagnosis on August 25, 2022. The failure of the Honda included every sensor displaying in the vehicle from emission to lane change, etc. The dealership stated that the only code they noticed was a low fuel pressure but there was no issue other than that and these new cars are sensitive to low gas in vehicles which they felt contributed to every emergency sensor warning displayed with safety issues. We picked vehicle back up and on August 27, 2022, my wife was stranded cause the vehicle just stopped and would not start again with the same codes as before. Just quit running while driving which was very unsafe for my wife. It took well over 3 hours waiting for vehicle to be towed cause HONDA doesn't have a shift release easily accessible on their ACCORD models when vehicle is unable to start and to be put in neutral cause it won't start. We had vehicle towed back to Bob Howard Honda and on Monday, August 29, 2022 they stated it needed a fuel pump which would cost around $1007.00. However, the fuel pumps are on back order with no timeframe for delivery and the warranty for this vehicle expired apparently at 36,000 miles. First off fuel pump should not have failed this soon for a brand new Honda Accord or any vehicle for that matter. This is a failure in manufacturing.

I own a 2019 Honda Accord purchased brand new in 2019. My family and I have been Honda owners forever. My current Honda Accord LX has 96,000 miles and recently my Emissions dashboard illuminated. I took my vehicle to Gillman Honda and to my surprise I have been advised the Turbocharger needs to be replaces and it will cost me $2,900.00. I'm also still on the waitlist for the Fuel Pump Recall Honda has failed to provide parts for the past year which is incurring me extra expenses on buying gas way more than I should. After reading multiple complaints, I'm convinced Honda is fully aware of the Turbocharger issues and have failed to initiate a recall. I'm very frustrated with the lack of transparency and accountability Honda is conducting regarding their manufacturing process. Why is a car at 5 years old experiencing a blow in a turbocharger and why is it taking over a year to have parts in place for a recall for fuel pump a car that could lead to extra expenses and damage to a vehicle? I am requesting Honda immediately provides the fuel replacement part needed for the recall for my vehicle and contact me for a definite date for repairs and reimbursement for this service that my car shouldn't need due to their failure in manufacturing. Please investigate their turbocharger system problems on their new cars.

I bought this car used in August 2022. September 2022, I paid for diagnostics because every warning light was on. They returned the car and the warning lights were clear. They eventually reappeared. I called, complained and was told I would need to pay for another diagnostic. This has been an ongoing problem. The lights are: Collision Mitigation, braking system problem. TPMS system problem, check tire pressure. Brake System problem, brake performance may be reduced. Brake system, brake hold system problem, apply brake when stopped. Electric power steering system problem, steering assist reduced. Vehicle stability assist system problem, reduced traction and handling. Hill start assist problem, vehicle may roll upon brake release. ACC, adaptive cruise control system problem. Road departure mitigation system problem. Emission system problem, avoid heavy acceleration and high speed. When the battery is disconnected for 15 minutes, then reconnected the lights clear, only to reappear within a few miles of driving. This is very concerning. My teenager will be driving soon and this is an unacceptable safety issue.

My car is not even 100,000 miles yet. I have had all maintenance done on time and recently had brakes replaced. I have changed my battery and tires twice within the 6 years of owning the car. It seems this is a regular complaint for such low mileage. I was a Toyota person but switched to Honda for their safety performance, and now I am regretting that. I read that this is the Turbo needing to be changed. This part should be recalled if it is failing soon. A person who just bought a car should not be paying $4500 in repairs already. I had the Fuel Pump recall replacement done, and had the brakes done. I am changing the spark plugs and ignition coils next week. Honda needs to do something about this and I am looking to join in the class action suit against them, if they do not correct the issue.

It hasn’t been inspected by manufacturer. The lost of power and acceleration it’s probably one of the symptoms before all the light go on again. It’s been several times that this happens and I know for a fact that many people are experiencing this issues due to turbo or head gasket failure. Might get that inspected soon.

This vehicle has a safety issue when it comes to snow on the ground and driving on a hill/incline. I was driving my vehicle through snow in the Ohio/WV region and when I tried to drive up a hill with snow on the ground the vehicle stopped. The vehicle would not accelerate and it seemed the engine just shut off. So I put the car in neutral and pushed the gas and I was correct the engine had no RPMs. This caused a huge safety issue to myself and the people driving near me. As I had ZERO control over the vehicle on an incline. The cars coming toward me and the ones behind me had ZERO issues with their vehicles going up this hillside. I tried three times to shut car off and back on so it would give me a few seconds of acceleration, allowing me to get up the hill a few more feet before shutting off again and possibly causing an accident. When I took it to my Honda dealer they stated computer showed no issues with the vehicle. And they have not heard of the engine shutting down or not having RPMs with snow on the ground. They recommended that I have tracking control off next time allowing me full control vs. the computer of the car however, I DID have it off. Once they heard that statement they informed me I have no other options. Honda did tell me when driving in snow other messages can go off and the car is still SAFE to drive. Which it needs to be as this area has tons of snow. However, that is not the case if the car just shuts off. Prior to the issue, the car kept beeping non stop with warning of break system & adaptive cruise control. My sensors were wiped off prior to the car shutting off. Yet again you can't keep a sensor spotless driving on a highway with snow. Two of the warning lights that showed on my dashboard were not listed in the manual. I am now afraid to drive my vehicle with any snow coming down. I have been a Honda owner since the 90's and I no longer trust this brand.

If you are having this problem where every warning indicator is illuminated, codes scanned but no clear solutions to the “Christmas Tree dash board This is an ongoing issue with the 10th generation and there is no definitive “fix” recognized by Honda. Sometimes it is the battery, the alternator, the head gasket, the ECM, injectors….the list goes on and on. Sometimes the repair fixes the issue, but based on research, the issue typically comes back shortly after the service department throws another part at the problem.

I received a letter in the mail stating that my fuel injections had a recall. 2024 Feb-Mar. Letter stated that I would not be able to get it fit until the fall because Honda Parts were backed up. At about May all my dash board lights were on, check engine, TPS, tire pressure. I assumed it was from the recall. At that time I had about 120,000 or 130,000 on my car, I'll have to check my oil change reports. Nov 2024 I was finally about to get my fuel injection fix, per the dealership. Lights were still on afterwards. Now February 2025, I get it check out, I need a new Turbo and an Engine because my gasket has blown. About December of 2024 I noticed I had issues with accelerating. My car jerks causing me some safety issues. This is my only car. I am afraid to drive it.

I STARTED TO NOTICE MONTHS AGO, WHEN STOPPED OR IDLING, MY VEHICLE BEGINS TO MISFIRE OR THE RPM ACCELERATES.TOOK IT IN THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES, THEY CAN'T SEEM TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE, I HAVE ALMOST HIT SEVERAL PEDESTRIANS AND OTHER VEHICLES DUE TO THIS ISSUE.

Multiple times while driving my car the automatic braking system activated with no reason, brakes were momentarily engaged. It has happened at speeds of 10-75 mph. I and any drivers near me were absolutely put in danger. I took it to the dealer when I first experienced it in 2020 and 2021 they were not able to reproduce it and told me there was nothing I could do. Every time this happens especially when I am on the freeway it is VERY disturbing and causes me a great deal of anxiety. There is no way to get this to stop. I have attempted to deactivate anything related to the automatic braking feature and it still engages. The orange flashing brake messages come up randomly. Im very afraid I am going to get into an accident. My family has seen enough tragedy and I don't want to add to that.

I WAS AT A RED STOP LIGHT ON A LOCAL STREET. IT WAS A CLEAR, SUNNY DAY. THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND I STARTED TO PROCEED. I WAS IN THE LEFT HAND TRAFFIC LANE (THERE ARE TWO LANES FOR A LEFT HAND TURN AT THIS SPOT). AS I PROCEEDED TO MAKE THE TURN, THE BRAKE MITIGATION SYSTEM ACTIVATED THE BRAKE. THERE WAS NOTHING IN FRONT OF ME. THERE WAS A CAR BEHIND ME AND TO MY RIGHT. I DRIVE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION SO THIS ACTION CAUSED MY CAR TO STALL. LUCKILY THE CAR BEHIND ME DID NOT HIT ME. I TRIED TO RESTART MY CAR QUICKLY. I HAD A HARD TIME RESTARTING THE CAR AS THE PARKING BRAKE MUST BE ON TO START THE CAR AS WELL AS THE CLUTCH DEPRESSED AND FOOT BRAKE PRESSED. AS THIS ALL HAPPENED SO QUICKLY AND I DID NOT EXPECT THE CAR TO STALL FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I DO NOT LIKE THE MITIGATION SYSTEM AS YOU HAVE TO TURN IT OFF EACH TIME YOU START YOUR CAR. FOR A CONSCIENTIOUS DRIVER YOU DO NOT NEED THIS SYSTEM. IT IS ONLY A BURDEN AND A HAZARD. I CALLED A LOCAL DEALER TO ASK ABOUT SHUTTING THIS SYSTEM OFF PERMANENTLY AND THE ADVISOR TOLD ME SHE HAD A HONDA THAT DOES THE SAME THING AT A CERTAIN ROAD SHE DRIVES WHERE THERE IS A DIP IN THE ROAD. PLEASE CHECK TO SEE IF HONDA IS HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE MITIGATION SYSTEM.

Misfire in cylinder causes blown head gasket
Oct 16, 2024
I've had head gasket failure twice and now turbo failure. I have documentation from John Eagle Honda to support as well as several others who are willing to do a Class Action Lawsuit in regards to the 10th generation Honda Accord 1.5 T and some of the other trims. I have a list of other owners like myself who have paid out of pocket constantly to get our vehicles fixed. My last straw for reaching out is when it stalled on me while on the interstate for the second time and almost getting in a horrible accident. Something has to be done, because at this point Honda has been called several times and acts if no one is reporting it when indeed they are. I have tons of documentation and proof to support my safety issue. I first paid for the head gasket in 2023, then again in 2024, now I'm being told the Turbo needs to be replaced of which it is in the shop currently and I was quoted 1700$. Something has to be done because of this issue I have spend a lot of money and none of my safety features worked during this time, the head gasket issue shuts down everything and can cause serious injury.

"Supplemental Restraint System Problem. See Your Dealer" and the air bag warning light was turned on multiple times. Upon turning off and restarting the vehicle, the warning lights are not turned on sometimes. But at random times, the failure reoccurred persistently. Noticed that my vehicle has 5 different Recalls but my VIN only has one recall needed(?). Managed to figure out that the SRS system is faulty due to the front passenger's belt buckle being stuck sometimes. Dealership won't let me replace the belt buckle for free since my VIN is not part of the recall process. Faulty SRS won't work if accident occurs and driver is at the risk always. Also, during driving there is a weird struting noise that happens behind the steering wheel. Can't seem to make out what or where the noise is coming from.

2019 Honda Accord SRS (supplement restraint system) unit light came on. The dealership informed me that the SRS unit and the driver side airbags are defective. The dealership had the car for a week attempting to figure out the issue and replaced both the SRS unit and the driver side airbags. They gave me the car back and 15 miles later the SRS unit light came back on. There is a safety concern with this because this module is what tells the airbags to deploy properly. And the driver side airbag was defective as well.

NUMEROUS TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT 65-75 MPH THE VEHICLE HAS BRAKED HARD IN THE HIGHWAY. NO CARS BESIDE OR IN FRONT. THE LAST INCIDENT I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED BY A TOYOTA TUNDRA WHO BARELY WAS ABLE TO STOP. I TOOK THE CAR TO VANN YORK HONDA, WAS TOLD IT WAS A RECALL FOR A BCM MODULE (OBVIOUSLY UNTRUE, THAT IS FOR WIPERS, REAR DEFOGGER, ETC), BUT I DID GET THE ISSUE DOCUMENTED ON PAPER. THIS WAS IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO ME, I OR MY FAMILY HAVE DOCUMENTATION THAT THE CAR DOES HAVE AN ISSUE WITH BRAKING AT HIGH RATE OF SPEED FOR NO REASON. AT TIMES THE BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON, THE LAST TWO TIMES LANE DEPARTURE LIGHT HAS COME ON AND I HAVE BEEN CENTERED UP IN MY LANE, NO ONE IN FRONT OF ME OR AS I STATED BESIDE ME. THE CAR IS A DANGER TO THE DRIVER, ANY POTENTIAL PASSENGERS AND THE VEHICLE FOLLOWING. HONDA SEEMS NOT TO BE CONCERNED AS I HAVE READ ONLINE IN MANY PLACES THAT THIS BEGAN WITH 2018 MODELS AND AFFECTS NOT JUST THE ACCORD, BUT THE CIVIC AS WELL. MY 75 YEAR OLD MOTHER HAS A 2019 CIVIC THAT IS DOING THE SAME THING. I SUPPOSE IF SOMEONE GETS HURT AND FAMILIES START TO SUE, HONDA MAY DO SOMETHING. NOW THAT I HAVE DOCUMENTATION, IF I GET HURT, THAT IS MY PLAN!

ON A TOTAL OF 6 OCCASIONS DURING THE FIRST 4500 MILES OF USING MY NEW CAR, THE BRAKE ALERT SIGN ACTIVATED WITHOUT REASON FOR PROVOCATION, I.E., NO OTHER CARS NEARBY, NOTHING IN ROADWAY. FOUR OCCURRED WHILE DOING 65 MPH ON INTERSTATE. THE LAST 2 OCCASIONS WERE STARTLING AS THE BRAKES WERE TRIGGERED, CAUSING THE CAR TO FISHTAIL AND SWERVE LEFT MOMENTARILY AS IF ATTEMPTING TO AWAKEN A DRIVER FALLING ASLEEP. ON THOSE OCCASIONS I WAS DOING ABOUT 50-55 MPH ON A HIGHWAY WITH OTHER CARS ON THE ROAD BUT NOT CLOSE ENOUGH TO NEED TO BRAKE. ONE TIME I WAS TAKING AN EXIT TO GET ON ANOTHER HIGHWAY. THE OTHER TIME I WAS GOING THROUGH A CONSTRUCTION ZONE BUT THERE WERE NO CIRCUMSTANCES THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THE NEED TO BRAKE. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY AFTER SECOND OCCURRENCE AND LEFT FOR 24+ HOURS. THEY ACTED AS IFF THAT COULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED UNLESS I WERE TOO CLOSE TO SOMETHING -- THEY'D NEVER HEARD OF THE PROBLEM. THEY TEST DROVE FOR 13 MILES, AND THE PROBLEM DID NOT OCCUR FOR THEM. NOTHING PROBLEMATIC SHOWED UP ON DIAGNOSTICS. NOTHING WAS DONE TO CORRECT THE SITUATION. I DISABLED THE COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM AFTER LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP.

AT THIS POINT I AM IN THE PROCESS OF PURCHASING A NEW VEHICLE CASH AND I AM NOT EVEN 1% INTERSD IN KEEPING THIS CAR . IF I HAVE TO RETURN VOLUNTARILY I WILL HAVE TO . I WOULD HAVE CRASHED INTO A CAR BY NOW IF I TRUSTED IT . I HAVE PROOF OF THE THREE TIRES I HAVE HAD TO GET IN THE PAST THEEE MONTHS AND I DON'T DRIVE MUCH AT ALL 9K MILES IN A WHOLE YEAR . PICS ON BOTTOM SHOW HOW THE DAMAGE COMES FROM THE SIDES DUE TO THE CAR GOING STRAIGHT THEN MAKING SUDDEN TURNS THAT HIT CURBS . THE SENSORS SEEM TO BE GETTING WORSE INSTEAD OF BETTER .

WITH ONLY LESS THAN 800 MILES ON THE CAR, MY 2019 HONDA ACCORD VSA MODULATOR (WHICH WAS DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALERSHIP) FAILED. I FELT THE CAR BEGIN TO BOG ON THE HIGHWAY RIGHT BEFORE WE WERE ON THE EXIT. THEN, THE GAS PEDAL STOPPED WORKING PROPERLY AND THE CAR LOST SPEED. I WOULD PRESS HARD ON THE GAS PEDAL AND THE CAR WOULD TAKE ABOUT 3 SECONDS BEFORE IT STARTED TO MOVE FORWARD, JERKING IN THE DIRECTION I INTENDED IT TO GO. AFTER STRUGGLING A LITTLE WHILE, I LUCKILY PULLED OVER AND CALLED A TOW TRUCK TO SEND MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. I FELT THAT I WAS VERY LUCKY TO BE ABLE TO SAFELY PULL OVER. 1ST, IT HAPPENED DURING AN EARLY SUNDAY MORNING WITH HEAVY RAIN, SO THERE WAS NOT MUCH TRAFFIC. 2ND, THE EVENT OCCURRED RIGHT BEFORE WE WERE GOING TO EXIT THE HIGHWAY WITH ONLY A FEW HUNDREDS OF FEET TO GO. ALSO, IT'S IN MY HOMETOWN AND I KNOW THE ROAD VERY WELL. OTHERWISE, AN UNCONTROLLABLE CAR COULD CAUSE VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT. IF WE WERE TO CRASH, THE EVENT WOULD LIKELY BE ATTRIBUTED TO DRIVER FAULT - SINCE IT IS SUCH A NEW CAR - RATHER THAN A CRUCIAL CAR PART FAILING, WHICH COULD CAUSE DEATH TO MANY OTHERS WHO BUY NEW HONDA ACCORD 2019S. THEREFORE, I BELIEVE THAT THIS ISSUE SHOULD NOT BE TAKEN LIGHTLY AND SHOULD BE FURTHER INVESTIGATED.

While driving my 2019 Honda Accord, after about five minutes on the road, multiple warning lights suddenly appeared on the dashboard. The emission system, brake system, power steering, TPMS, ACC, hill start assist, collision mitigation, and vehicle stability assist warnings all came on at the same time. The alerts caused concern for safety, as several major systems such as steering assist, braking, and driver-assist features appeared to malfunction simultaneously. The issue seems related to an electrical or charging system failure (such as the alternator or battery), since all of these systems rely on stable voltage to operate correctly. The incident occurred without warning and could have resulted in loss of steering assist or engine power while driving

All the lights came on on the car, took it to get looked at they stated it was the turbocharger I spent $2500 to get it replaced and yet all the lights are still on-automatic headlights don’t work and the infotainment system keeps cutting out-like glitching. According to the Honda representative at the dealership, this year model has had alot of issues and several cars in the last month alone have replaced turbochargers and had to come back and get an entire motor! This is highway robbery if the cars themselves weren’t put together correctly from the manufacturer. This needs to be looked into as I’m having to shell out thousands of dollars for a defective car. My [XXX] drives this vehicle and I don’t know what to do as the dealership charges $190 for every diagnostic test and to not have an answer is frustrating. All I’m hearing is several cars this year are horribly made. This needs to be investigated and resolved. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6

I was driving on the interstate on adaptive cruise control when suddenly my cruise control turned off, and then various sensor lights all started popping up on my dash notifying my that various safety systems were not on/working, including all honda sensing features, I also lost my power steering. I managed to pull off onto an exit ramp, kept the car running, and was able to get it to town to have battery tested. Battery was fine. Turned the car off and turned it back on and there were 0 issues and everything worked just fine. Took car to Honda dealership, it was diagnosed that the EPS unit malfunctioned. I was terrified when this happened as I was traveling 70 miles per hour on the interstate and didn't know what was happening, I was unsure what was happening and if I was going to be able to control the vehicle at all even through the gas pedal, or brakes. I was terrified I wouldn't be able to steer or brake or if the car was going to accelerate without my control. I was able to brake slowly and pull over to an exit ramp. Driving it into town with no power steering was extremely difficult and scary. I had never experienced any issued with any electrical, steering, or any other systems in my car prior to this. Honda of Altoona in Iowa is where the car was diagnosed the EPS malfunction, I was told by the dealership it was a manufacturer error and there wasn't anything I did to trigger it. I had the EPS unit replaced based off the dealership recommendation as there was no promising it wouldn't happen again if I didn't replace the unit and it was a safety concern.

The issue I have been having since i bought the car has been a wobble/vibration from the front end. took the vehicle in to planet honda rt22 in union nj, where they told me my factory rims where bent which was false. i ended up selling my factory rims and buying a pair that i liked same size as factory. i put new wheels and tires on same problem. i then went back to the dealer ship for a second time told me they heard the bearings and proceeded to replace them as i approved the work. received vehicle drover for a couple days same issue went back for a third time and the technician stated my rims are bent again. i then became very upset as to if the tech knew how to diagnose a vehicle correctly. took car back drove it for almost a year with the vibration and wobble got car aligned several ties since the car started drifting and pulling both ways. went and took vehicle in to my personal mechanic where he showed me the front wheel bearings and intermediate shaft and bearing are bad. went back to honda on [XXX] with repeat concern with the same issue. took the dealership 5 hours to assign my vehicle to a tech that has no clue on how to inspect a vehicle bad for business. so dealership got back to me and stated that since vehicle was lowered they where not going to replace or fix the issues that are present i bought the vehicle used certified from them at 23k miles and have been having this issue since vehicle was purchased. i drive my wife and my 3 year old daughter in this car and with a car that has no control or stability and puts my family at risk just because they dont want to do a warranty job. i do have proof of bearings being replaced so they say also have proof of head gasket failure injector failure high pressure pump failure in tank pump failure. just have no way to upload. My three year old daughter was locked in the vehicle recently which is a major safety concern and was a very terrifying experience. All door locks were malfunctioning. I was unable to gain access to her for several minutes via my key fob or manually pulling the handle/latch. It was in the 40s, after several minutes I was able to gain access through the drivers door. I struggled to undo her car seat from the front. Finally I was able to reach her and she crawled out through the front seat. I was frantic because I was unable to manually unlock the doors when the door release latching system failed. The very next morning I went to warm up the car to take my daughter to school and 10warnings displayed: TPMS, brake system hold, brake system performance, vehicle stability assist, hill start assist, adaptive cruise control x2, electric power steering, collision mitigation braking, road departure mitigation. This incident constitutes as CHILD ENDANGERMENT in the state of NC. I am terrified and afraid to drive this vehicle, because if in the event of an emergency the doors/car could malfunction AGAIN and we would not be able to exit the vehicle. Surprisingly, I took my car the next morning to a scheduled diagnostics appointment with my certified Honda dealership and they failed to identify the problem. This experience is very anxiety provoking and overwhelming to know that the one thing that is supposed to protect us and keep us safe is the one thing that failed us. Someone needs to hold Honda accountable before this defect results in bodily harm/injury and/or death. This is something that should be taken seriously as Honda has had known problems with the body control modules and safety mechanisms. I would like for NHTSA to conduct a causation survey for failure of safety mechanisms. I would like an update after investigations have been conducted. Sincerely, Terror stricken and perplexed mom.

Seat belt: multiple instances where the seat belth latch does not fully engage causing the seat belt to unlatch while I'm driving. Engine/Fuel: Car bogs down specially with hotter weather. Stalled twice in the past month. when attempted to restart the car, it would crank but it would not be able to fully start. I had my mechanic check the battery, fuses, and even use a scan tool with no issues to be found. The car would eventually start 30-45 minutes after it has cooled down. There is suspicion it is the fuel pump and there is a recall out for this same year, make, and model car but apparently, my VIN was not included in the recall so my local dealer is not able to honor it. I am concerned that this will turn into a bigger problem or worse, that it will happen when I driving down the highway.

There have been two incidents where my 2019 Honda Accord braked extremely hard and it was out of my control. The first incident was while I was exiting a highway on a rainy night at approximately 30mph, I had cars behind me that had to brake extremely hard due to my braking system which could have caused a rear end collision. The second incident was while I was driving approximately 50mph on a small two lane highway, I had other cars behind that had to swerve to avoid a collision once again. My car also detects many crack repairs on the highway as lane lines and attempts to depart the actual lane. I have to force the steering wheel to stay in the accurate lane. Unfortunately, I no longer feel safe driving my own car.

I am filing this complaint because I just took in my 2019 honda accord to the honda service department so they can look at the issue with the sensor lights that are going off in my car. I thought it was a simple malfunction with the sensors but they came back telling me that there is a misfire issue with the engine causing the sensor lights to engage and all going off at the same time. My car only has 37000 miles on it and its less than 3 years old. I've taken the car to a 3rd party mechanic for regular maintenance work and its up to date on oil changes and all other maintenance that is required for the car. The Honda folks submitted for the warranty to cover the repairs of $4800 to replace the head gasket replacement along with the machining of the engine head. I have not gotten into an accident now have I used my car to race anyone that would cause the car to warp to that point. I think this is a defect and the Honda warranty folks are just using the excuse that I was using a 3rd party mechanic to fix this issue to avoid having to pay for the repairs. I cannot afford this repair $4800. I still have to make car payments as well as the insurance on the car for something fairly new. Can you help in any way with this?

This is a follow up for NHTSA complaint 11452424. After the engine light came on along with other warning lights, like a Christmas tree and taking the vehicle to a Honda dealership with a almost 3700.00 repair bill for a vehicle with with under 88,000 miles. The dealership said the vehicle needed a head gasket. The problem is the dealership did not provide the error code numbers. They just gave a price due too coolant going into cylinder number 3. I asked the service rep for a break down the for repairs, which he said was provided. The only thing provided was coolant leaking into cylinder 3 with no codes that the dealership found with the engine light on. I filed a complaint with Honda to off set the repair cost. Mind you we are talking about a head gasket. Honda denied the claim and referred to lack of maintenance. When I told the representative I do my maintenance. He said it was because the dealership wasn’t making money. Who in their right mind would pay 144.00 an hour maintenance when they can’t be up front and provide codes that were thrown on engine light for repair bill. I think NHTSA needs to investigate Honda’s technical service bulletins regarding cylinder misfires in 1,2,3 and 4. I am quite skeptical that a dealership can not list error codes on a repair estimate that they aren’t hiding something. My family will never purchase another Honda and I will share this Story with everyone I know. Something is being hidden if the dealership doesn’t provide error codes. I have never seen this in my 30 plus years of driving.

Sudden engine power loss; merging to highway speed was not possible. Risk to safety was the loss was when needing to merge with traffic at highway speeds. The dealership could not reproduce the problem. The check engine light did come on, but no codes were generated. The check engine light extinguished before the vehicle could be taken to the dealership. Only possible symptom, prior to the event, and still existing, is a lack of power, compared to when it was new. The dealership cannot confirm the cause of this power loss. There are other indications that there is a controls/computer problem, in my opinion. Power assist is not always available, but then suddenly engages, causing the car to jerk. My conclusion is that the vehicle does not immediately recognize the steering input. The problem is most pronounced when traveling straight, on the highway and needing to make a mild lane correction to maintain the lane. The vehicle does not immediately recognize the mild steering input until the steering wheel has been turned significantly. Once the steering wheel has been turned significantly and the steering input is recognized, the power steering engages, causing a sudden jerk and a need to recover control. The dealership has not been able to reproduce this problem. I have been able to temporarily resolve it, by momentarily engaging the Lane Keep Assist. Normal, expected power assisted steering is recovered for a period of time.

For more than the past two years I have been experiencing unexpected braking while driving my 19 Accord. There have been probably 20-30 random incidents....generally when I am changing lanes..I think? The braking lasts for 2-3 seconds and then all returns to normal. This has happened when other cars are near and when there is no other car ahead or behind. On at least a couple occasions I received a nasty horn from the car behind me due to my unexpected braking and more than once an uncomplimentary comment from my wife about my driving skill. Several times I feared being rear ended. I explained this braking action as my failure to use the turn signal when changing lanes. Upon reconsidering and after reading the recent NHTSA alert, this is a sensor/software problem in the ESC/Emergency Braking system. Please give this issue your prompt attention. I am the retired engineering manager of the braking system subsidiary of HONDA MOTORS.

Upon accelerating on a highway, the malfunction indicator light came on and the car lost power. Without drive power it was very dangerous to maneuver to exit the freeway. The dealership recognized that this was due to issues with the intercooler and PGM-FI software for this vehicle and is spelled out in a technical service bulletin (Honda 21-052). However, even though the car is under the original warranty, they want to charge over $250 for the repair.

At approximately 16:08 EST on Jan 1, 2022 I was traveling westbound on I-76 at mile marker 146.9 WB (40°02'03.0"N 78°29'50.0"W) in the center lane on a straight section of road at approximately 70mph. Car mileage was 21264 at the time of the crash. The weather at the time of the crash was light rain and with temperature approximately 50F. The car suddenly and for no apparent reason began skidding / fishtailing. I tried steering to regain control of the vehicle and applying the brakes to slow down, but the car continued fishtailing. I did not feel the anti lock brakes engage at any point during the skid. I went into the left lane, and struck the center concrete barrier, causing the airbags to deploy and the car to come to rest in the left lane. 3 symptoms appeared the day of the crash which had never happened before: 1) Several hours before the crash, the vehicle began handling strangely. It felt like there was either steering or brake input from the land keeping assist / adaptive cruise control / traction control systems which was "fighting" me and causing the vehicle to swerve slightly. These handling anomalies occurred randomly about 10 times immediately before the crash. 2) About 2 hours before the crash, the check engine light began flashing and there was a loss of engine power. I pulled over and restarted the car, which seemed to resolve the check engine light / power loss. 3) At one point the adaptive cruise control turned itself off and gave a message about traction conditions. To my knowledge the problem has not been confirmed or reproduced, and the vehicle has not yet been inspected by Honda, my insurer, or anyone else. As of Jan 6, the vehicle is currently in a yard near Altoona PA awaiting assessment, and is available for inspection upon request. I informed Honda about the crash on Jan 6, 2022. They gave me a case number and said to work through my insurer on next steps. Honda service bulletin 21-052 may be relevant to this incident.

All the doors and the fuel door remained unlocked. The dealer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that the vehicle was not under warranty. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that the vehicle was no longer under warranty so the repair would not be covered. The failure mileage was 66,000.

STEERING,AIR BAGS,LANE DEPARTURE
1 complaint
I FILED A COMPLAINT ABOUT THIS VEHICLE IN OCTOBER OF 2020 WHEN IT WAS 5 MONTHS OLD AT THAT TIME BECAUSE IT WOULD SLAM ON BREAKS AND JERK THE STEERING WHEEL FOR NO KNOWN REASON AND WITH NO ONE AROUND. IT HAS CONTINUED TO DO THIS INTERMITTENTLY AS WELL AS OTHER ERRATIC DRIVING THAT CANT BE ACCOUNTED FOR INCLUDING AT TIMES GETTING CONFUSED WHEN PASSING EXIT RAMPS WHERE THE CAR WILL SLAM ON BREAKS AND JERK TO TRY TO EXIT. I WAS DRIVING THIS AFTERNOON AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO SHIMMY (VIBRATING BACK AND FORTH). IT FELT LIKE THERE WAS A POTNETIAL TIRE BLOW OUT BUT MY TPMS DID NOT INDICATE ANY LOSS OF PRESSURE. I ASSUMED THE CAR WAS HAVING ANOTHER ONE OF ITS UNEXPLAINED STEERING BEHAVIORS. I KNOW FROM PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE THAT TURNING THE BLINKER ON WILL STOP THE SHIMMYING IF IT THINKS YOU ARE TRYING TO SWITCH LANES SO I TURNED MY BLINKER ON AND I MOVED OVER ONE LANE HOPING IT WOULD STOP. THE SHIMMYING (VIBRATING OF STEERING WHEEL) CONTINUED AND SHORTLY THERE AFTER IT PULLED HARD LEFT ON ME DRIVING ME DIRECTLY INTO A CEMENT BARRICADE THAT WAS LOCATED A FEW FEET OFF OF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I HIT THE BARRICADE AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND BOUNCED OFF OF IT SPUN AROUND AND RE-HIT THE BARRICADE WITH THE REAR OF THE CAR WHICH IS WHAT SUSTAINED THE MAJORITY OF THE DAMAGE WHEN IT HIT. THOUGH I HIT THE BARRICADE WITH SIGNIFICANT FORCE THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. MY DAUGHTER HAS BEEN IN THE CAR WITH ME ON A PREVIOUS OCCASION WHEN THE CAR HAS DONE THIS AND I HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT IT NUMEROUS TIMES TO NUMEROUS PEOPLE. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS CAR...IT ONLY DOES THIS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND ON THE HIGHWAY...IT WILL KILL ME OR SOMEONE ELSE IF SOMETHING IS NOT DONE. I HAVE CONTACTED HONDA COOPERATE AND ALSO FILED A REPORT WITH THEM AS WELL.

I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY DOING A NORMAL LANE CHANGE THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN LOST ALL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. LOSS OF POWER AND MANEUVERABILITY. I WENT INTO THE SIDE DITCH WHERE MY VEHICLE COMPLETELY FLIPPED OVER. I HAD JUST GOT THE BCM RECALL ON MY VEHICLE 5 DAYS PRIOR. I CANNOT EXPLAIN HOW, ONLY THAT MY VEHICLE LOST COMPLETE CONTROL FOR NO REASON, IT WAS AS IF I HAD TURNED MY ENGINE OFF WHILE CHANGING LANES.

1 complaint
NOT ONLY DOES THE INFOTAINMENT SCREEN SOMETIMES BLACK OUT WHEN I AM NAVIGATING, BUT THE EMERGENCY BRAKING SOMETIMES KICKS IN ON THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY WHEN THERE IS NO CAR IN FRONT OF ME OR NONE ON EITHER SIDE. I ALSO GET OCCASIONAL COFFEE CUP ICONS WITH A DRIVER ALERT SIGNAL EVEN WHEN I AM DRIVING IN A STRAIGHT LINE, YET CONSCIOUS OF THE NEED TO STEER A BIT TO TELL THE SYSTEM I AM ALERT. THE ALERTS HAPPEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THIS HAS HAPPENED QUITE A FEW TIMES. THE DEALER'S ONLY RESPONSE WAS THAT HONDA IS AWARE AND BLAMES THE PROBLEM ON USING THE CORD THAT MUST BE USED TO ACTIVATE CARPLAY AND THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM!

I WAS ON THE FREEWAY GOING ABOUT 75MPH, WHEN SUDDENLY, MY VEHICLE'S CMBS SYSTEM ACTIVATED AND SLOWED DOWN SPEED TO 20MPH APPROX. WITHOUT HAVING ANY VEHICLES IN FRONT OR NEAR ME. LUCKILY, THE DRIVER BEHIND ME WAS NOT FOLLOWING CLOSE AND WAS ABLE TO AVOID A COLLISION BY SWITCHING LANES. I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TWICE, BUT NO ONE CAN FIND OR DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. MOREOVER, A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO, WHEN I WAS SWITCHING LANES, TOWARD THE RIGHT, THE LEFT WARNING LIGHT AND BEEPING NOISE CAME ON. SO FAR, I HAVE RECORDED NINE INCIDENTS WHEN THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN ON ITS OWN, AND FOUR OF THOSE WERE ON THE FREEWAY. I WAS FORCED TO DEACTIVATED ALL "SAFETY" SENSORS WHILE I AM DRIVING TO AVOID ANYMORE INCIDENTS OR ACCIDENTS.

FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATS SQUEAKS SINCE DAY 1, AND I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW. SECONDLY THE DRIVER DOOR WON'T UNLOCK FROM THE OUTSIDE SO I WOULD HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE PASSENGER DOOR TO OPEN DRIVER DOOR LOCK . IT FEELS LIKE THE DOOR LOCK ON DRIVER DOOR IS STUCK AND THE DEALERSHIP WON'T FIX IT AND I'M WELL UNDER WARRANTY. WHEN I'M DRIVING AT NIGHT THERE'S A LIGHT THAT FLICKERS UNDERNEATH THE STEERING WHEEL IT BLINKS THE WHOLE TIME AND I'VE LOOKED IT UP AND HAVEN'T FOUND A REASON WHY IT SHOULD OR SHOULD NOT BE BLINKING.

VEHICLE IN SHOP ALMOST 30 DAYS 1ST YEAR, AT LEAST 18 CONSECUTIVE. DEALER RECOMMENDED VEHICLE BE BOUGHT BACK DUE TO ISSUES BUT HONDA REGIONAL MECHANIC CAME IN AND SAID THA'TS JUST HOW THEY RIDE. CAR STILL RIDES LIKE AN OLD TRUCK OVER BUMPS. NO SATISFACTION AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED.

WHILE I WAS ON THE WAY HOME FROM WORK, I WAITED FOR THE BROKEN YELLOW LINE TO PASS 2 CARS IN FRONT OF ME, WHEN I WAS MIDWAY THROUGH PASSING BOTH OF THEM, THE SECOND CAR IN LINE WANTED TO PASS THE CAR IN FRONT AS WELL BUT DID NOT LOOK TO SEE THAT I WAS ALREADY PASSING AND RIGHT BESIDE HIM, AND JERKED OVER AND HIT THE SIDE OF ME WHICH CAUSED ME THEN TO SPIN OUT OF CONTROL AND LAND IN A RAVINE. THE ENTIRE FRONT SIDE OF MY VEHICLE IS COMING OFF AND I WAS JERKED AROUND IN THE CAR, BUT NO AIRBAG IN THE BACKSEATS NOR DRIVER SEAT CAME OUT, AND MY DAUGHTERS CAR SEAT WAS FLIPPED TOWARDS THE WINDOW SO THANK GOD SHE WAS NOT IN THE VEHICLE WHEN THIS HAPPENED.

07/06/20 WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THE PLASTIC GAS PEDAL SNAPPING OFF AND BECOMING LODGED BEHIND THE BRAKE PEDAL PREVENTING ADEQUATE STOPPING THAT RESULTED IN ME REAR ENDING ANOTHER VEHICLE. MAX SPEED REACHED ON THE FREEWAY BEFORE COLLISION WAS 65 MPH. TRYING TO BRAKE WAS NOT SMOOTH AND I HAD TO PRESS DOWN EXTREMELY HARD IN ORDER FOR THE BRAKING SYSTEM TO RESPOND AND STILL ENDED UP COLLIDING WITH THE OTHER VEHICLE AT A HIGHER RATE OF SPEED THAN THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN WHEN PAYING ATTENTION TO SURROUNDING TRAFFIC, EVEN WITH A CAR LENGTH DISTANCE INFRONT OF ME AT THE START OF BREAKING. IT IS TYPICAL OF THE BRAKING SYSTEM TO ENGAGE WHEN "DETECTING" CLOSE PROXIMITY TO ANOTHER OBJECT OR VEHICLE BUT, ON MANY OCCASIONS THERE WAS NO ONE THERE; HOWEVER, IN THE CASE OF TODAYS ACCIDENT COLLISION MITIGATION WAS NOT RESPONSIVE. TIRE ROTATION PERFORMED AT HONDA ON 6/29/20 WITH REPORTS THAT BRAKE LINES, FLUIDS, AND PADS WERE UP TO PAR HOWEVER THIS IS MOST CERTAINLY NOT THE CASE. THERE IS CURRENTLY A RECALL THAT HAS NOT MADE ITS WAY TO CONSUMERS FOR THE FUEL PUMP IN THIS CAR THAT TOOK ME SO DIGGING TO FIND. INITIATED 5,28,2020 BUT, WILL NOT GO IN EFFECT UNTIL 7,22,2020. I COULD HAVE LOST MY LIFE TODAY! SUCH A SCARY SITUATION TO BE IN.

I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW HONDA ACCORD 2019 SPORT IN BLACK IN MARCH 2019. WITHIN 3 MONTHS I NOTICED IN MAY THESE WHITE SPOTS SHOW UP. I IMMEDIATELY HAD 3 DETAILERS LOOK AT THE SPOTS AND THEY SAID IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE PAINT JOB. I CALLED HONDA AND STARTED A CLAIM, THEY TOLD ME TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP I PURCHASED IT FROM AND HAVE THEM TO REVIEW IT, THEY WERE RUDE AND STATED THAT IT WAS MY FAULT AND THAT I HAD TO PUT SOMETHING ACIDIC ON IT OR IT WAS ACIDIC RAIN, OR SAP. I HAVE NOT BEEN UNDER A TREE NOR PUT ANYTHING ON MY CAR TO DAMAGE IT, WHY WOULD I WANT TO DO THIS TO MY OWN CAR, I BROUGHT UP ISSUES WITH THE STEREO SYSTEM AND THE SCREEN FREEZING AND GOING BLACK. THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD TAKE MY STEREO OUT MY CAR AND PUT A REFURBISHED SYSTEM IN MY CAR THAT WILL HAVE THE UPGRADE ALREADY ON THE SYSTEM AND TAKE MINES AND PUT IT IN SOMEONE ELSE'S CAR. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING AND THE CAR IS ONLY 1 YEAR OLD. I FOUND OUT THE CAR WAS MADE THE END OF THE YEAR ON A FRIDAY,I HAD VIDEOS AND THAT STILL WAS NOT GOOD ENOUGH. NOW I'M LOOKING AT GETTING A PAINT JOB ON A ONE YEAR OLD CAR. I'M SO DISAPPOINTED I REALLY LIKE MY CAR AND FOR ALL THIS TO HAPPEN IN A YEAR I REALLY HATE I BOUGHT THIS CAR.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, MY SEAT BELT FAILED.AFTER THE ACCIDENT I FOUND MY SEAT BELT UNBUCKLED AND LAYING OPEN. IF THIS HAD BEEN AT A HIGHER SPEED, I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED.

WE LEASED A HONDA ACCORD IN JULY, 2019. WE ARE A HONDA FAMILY. BEFORE THE ACCIDENT ON JANUARY 10 OF THIS YEAR, WE NOTICED SEVERAL UNUSUAL HAPPENINGS. THE TRUNK LID WOULD OPEN WHILE DRIVING AFTER BEING SECURELY LATCHED. IT ALSO WOULD BEGIN BRAKING UNNECESSARILY. THE UNFORTUNATE INCIDENT OCCURRED WHEN THE DRIVER DROVE INTO A PARKING SPACE IN FRONT OF A LOCAL RETAIL STORE TRAVELING SLOWLY WHEN THE HONDA INEXPLICABLY ACCELERATED FORWARD VERY QUICKLY. IT JUMPED THE CURB, WENT OVER WIDE SIDEWALK, TRAVELED THROUGH A BRICK WALL ANCHORING A HUGE STORE WINDOW, AND THEN WENT CRASHED THROUGH THE HUGE WINDOW. THE HONDA FINALLY STOPPED AFTER IT HAD COMPLETELY ENTERED THE STORE. FORTUNATELY, NOBODY WAS INJURED. WE ARE VERY GRATEFUL FOR THIS. IT SEEMS THAT SOMETHING IS SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH THE SPEED CONTROL SYSTEM OF THE HONDA. WE FELT THAT IT WAS OUR RESPONSIBILITY TO NOTIFY HONDA IN HOPE OF PREVENTING A FUTURE TRAGEDY. WE FELT COMPELLED TO SHARE THIS INFORMATION ON THE NHSTA WEBSITE WHERE 54 COMPLAINTS WERE LISTED FOR THE 2019 HONDA ACCORD. *LN *DL

DRIVING IN INCLEMENT WEATHER SNOW/FREEZING RAIN. THE HONDA SENSE RADAR WILL BECOME COVERED IN SNOW AND OR ICE CAUSING IT TO LIGHT UP THE DASHBOARD WITH WARNING LIGHTS. NONE OF THE HONDA SAFETY FEATURES WORK (ADAPTIVE CRUISE, LANE ASSIST, AUTOMATIC BRAKING) EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT USING THEM AT THE TIME THEY ALL SHUT DOWN. THE WORST BEING THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING COULD CAUSE WRECKS IF IT HASN'T ALREADY. WHEN THE DASH LIGHTS UP IT STARTS BEEPING CONSTANTLY AND YOU HAVE TO CLOSE OUT 3-4 NOTIFICATIONS BEFORE IT WILL STOP BLINKING. HAS HAPPENED ON HIGHWAY AS WELL AS JUST NORMAL DRIVING STATE ROADS. HAS HAPPENED TO ME 3 DIFFERENT TIMES. CAR HAS 12000 MILES

ON 11/22, WHEN MY CAR WAS IN ACCESSORY MODE, THE STEREO SYSTEM WAS FLICKERING AND THE WARNING SIGN SAYING THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH MY BRAKE SYSTEM APPEARED ON THE DASH BOARD. I ALSO NOTICED MY BREAK PEDAL WAS PULSATING. I TOOK IT TO HONDA AND THEY CHANGED THE BATTERY OF MY CAR ON 11/30. I CALLED HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY TOLD ME THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE BUT THEY DO NOT HAVE A FIX FOR IT. TWO DAYS AFTER I GOT MY BATTERY CHANGERS, THE TOUCH SCREEN WENT OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND CAUSED THE STEREO SYSTEM TO REBOOT. TODAY, I WAS AT THE STOP LIGHT WAITING FOR THE LIGHT TO TURN GREEN. THERE WAS NOT A CAR INFRONT OF ME AND WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE PEDAL AND THE CAR STARTED TO MOVE. ABOUT TWO SECONDS OF MOVING THE CAR, THE CAR BREAKED BY ITSELF AND THE HAZARDS LIGHTS CAME ON- THIS HAPPENED ON 12/14. A CAR BEHIND ME HAD TO SWERVE TO AVOID HITTING ME.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT EMAILED HONDA OF COVINGTON (100 HOLIDAY SQUARE BLVD, COVINGTON, LA 70433, (985) 892-0001) BECAUSE THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. ON SEPTEMBER 11, 2019, WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE AUTO BRAKE SYSTEM SUDDENLY ENGAGED AND STOPPED THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO VEHICLES IN FRONT OF THE CONTACT AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER WAS EMAILED AGAIN REGARDING THE FAILURE. LATER, THE VEHICLE MOVED ON ITS OWN IN REVERSE FROM A PARKED POSITION AND STRUCK A NEIGHBOR'S MAILBOX. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND ROADSIDE SERVICE TOWED THE VEHICLE TO THE SAME DEALER. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS $3,700 WORTH OF DAMAGE, BUT NO FAILURE CODES WERE LOCATED. THE CONTACT RESEARCHED AND FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS AND A LAWSUIT FILED AGAINST THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 700. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.

I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IN MY NEW 2019 HONDA ACCORD WHICH IS JUST AT IT'S 3768 MILES, AND THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM, COLLUSION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM AND ROAD DEPARTURE SYSTEM FAILED. IT SHOWED A MESSAGE TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER. UPON RESTARTING THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE SOLVED. I GOT THE CAR COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO, SO I HAVE THEIR MAY 2019 SOFTWARE UPDATE WHICH SUPPOSEDLY WOULD FIX THIS PROBLEM WITH 10TH GEN ACCORDS, BUT IT DIDN'T. THE DEALERS AND HONDA CORPORATE KEEP RESPONDING THAT HONDA DOESN'T HAVE A FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM YET, WHICH IS GOING ON FOR OVER A YEAR NOW FOR MANY OWNERS, WHICH CAN EASILY BE FOUND BY A GOOGLE SEARCH. PLEASE HELP US.
