The Vehicle Trim is "Calligraphy" which comes with an 8 Speed Dual Clutch Transmission. This Transmission is Faulty and i already swapped 4 Transmissions under warranty under 55k Miles. (3 refurbished last one Brand new all having same issue) The Manufacturer *does not* want to admit that this is a Manufacturing Defect. (i opened a ticket #[XXX] with Hyundai Corporate office) The Vehicle surges forward when in "Park" which should not happen and I'm afraid it might result in a bigger risk. There are no fault codes or errors. It is a documented issue with multiple owners and discussed on Forums. This issue is unique to this manufacturer as no other DCT's (some of witch i owned in the past) experience such an issue (as far as i know). Description of problem: The Transmission will disengage while driving, allowing the car to 'coast' as if in neutral. The problem sometimes occurs at red lights, where the vehicle remains stationary for a brief period and then corrects itself as if nothing happened. I noticed the "D" character flashing on the dashboard when the issue occurred, indicating a problem. The engine will rev, but the car will not move. The vehicle spent about two weeks at the dealership (Hyundai of New Port Richie, FL), but they were unable to find an issue after conducting over 80 miles of test driving. The last incident occurred on June 8, 2025, only days after I had removed the vehicle from the repair shop due to this problem. When pulling into my son's driveway, the car's engine revved to about three thousand RPM, and the vehicle rolled backward, out of his driveway, and into crossing traffic. Luckily, the pickup truck on the street was able to stop before hitting my vehicle, which was now sitting in his lane of traffic. I looked down at the dashboard, and the car was still in "D" but would not move forward. After a few seconds, the transmission re-engaged and moved forward again as if nothing had happened. I DID NOTHING AND THE CAR RECOVERED BY ITSELF! I returned the vehicle to the dealership for further investigation on June 9, 2025, and am driving a rental. Summary: This car is unpredictable and unsafe in this condition. Someone could drive this car for days without experiencing an issue, but it does happen when you least expect it! I use this vehicle for local travel only, about twenty-mile trips.

I took my vehicle in on 2/03/25 for a back up camera recall and to have my transmission checked due it not shifting correctly. I was called within two hours and told the transmission needed to be replaced. Weeks later they called and told me they had good news and bad news, the transmission was replaced, however it would not work. They replaced the transmission for the second time and had me pick up the vehicle on April 17th. I picked the car up and immediately went back in and told her it was not shifting right. They told me to drive it home and see how it did and they would have the service advisor reach out. On the way home, the car was at 5000RPM at 60mph. It was not shifting. The check engine light came on the next day. The car was taken back and I was told on April 21st the transmission needed to be replaced again. I was called on April 7th and told that there was a wire they needed to check that went from the transmission to the pcm and they were going to check it and see if that would fix it. That is 3 total transmissions that have been in this 2022 vehicle. The vehicle is unsafe to drive and Hyundai corporate is not doing anything to help.

I purchased my 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid brand new and in three years, both horns (high and low) have stopped working every year. I have had the horns replaced in March 2023, January 2024 and as I type this complaint, both horns are out again. It is a serious safety issue driving a vehicle without a horn. There is no warning that the horn is going to stop working; and I have discovered the malfunction while driving when I needed to alert another driver before we potentially collided. It has also been extremely inconvenient for me to take off work to take the car in for more service. What's more frustrating is I was told by a service manager that they (Hyundai USA) are aware of the defect with these particular horns but has chosen to continue to replace the defective horns with more defective horns. Now I drive an unsafe vehicle until I can take off work again to have my horns replaced with parts that will last for one year, if I'm lucky. I am asking for some assistance with this matter since it is clear that Hyundai USA has not made it a priority to solve this ongoing safety problem for all its customers who are having the same issue. Thank you.

The horn has completely failed for the 4th time. Dealer is now stating it is not covered as mileage is over 60k.

Backup camera no longer works
Jun 06, 2025
The car horn failed to work when I went to use it around April 20, 2025. I first noticed it while stopped at a traffic light and the car in front of me failed to advance for several seconds at the green light. Then I noticed a car drifting over the line in oncoming traffic and was unable to use the horn to alert the driver. As I drive with my toddler granddaughter in the car, I needed the vehicle fixed ASAP. My independent car mechanic had to replace 2 horns (Hi tone Horn and Lo Tone Horn). Today I came to know of a Hyundai Forum and did a search on car horns. Apparently, this is a known failure for many years. Some owners have had the horn replaced as many as 3 times. I since have requested reimbursement from Hyundai, but they refused because I didn't take it to a Hyundai dealership. There were no warning lamps or messages.
May 01, 2025
The horn on this. vehicle has been replaced 4 times in 2.5 years. It has failed and on three occasions I nearly hit a pedestrian and other vehicles. I asked my service representative, John King, of Lia Hyundai in Albany NY if there is a recall on this issue. He said no. I researched this problem and found that this is a widespread problem with Hyundai. I feel strongly that eventually someone will be seriously injured or worse in Hyundai does not recognize this problem.

My Santa Fe limited 2022, has stopped running while traveling at 50 to 60 miles per hour on 3 different occasions. Car has 19000 miles and incidents have occurred over past 10000 miles.

The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe. The contact stated that on two occasions while driving at approximately 25 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. On the second occasion, the vehicle was steered to the side of the road and restarted. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the failure was not able to be replicated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.
Aug 08, 2024
The vehicle shuts off completely when stopped at a stop sign, traffic light, or parking space. This has occurred multiple times. Hyundai can not find the problem after multiple times in the shop. The last time it occurred I was in the middle of a busy intersection and was almost broadsided.

I was driving in the freeway and all of a sudden my engine power became week. I try to step accelerator but it did not cooperate.
May 04, 2024
On 10/31 I loss power while on the freeway for the 2nd time since August. The car was assessed and fixed according to the dealership. My car threw a 2nd code which was cleared and not fixed due to not showing issues according to the dealership. I got my car back in mid November. I immediately complained that I still had a rough idle and was told my car was fine by the manager via service rep. On 11/28 my car loss power on the freeway again for the 3rd time since August. According to the codes, all my cylinders are failing one by one. This is a huge safety concern. The dealership could care less.

The fuel injectors have repeatedly failed. I am on my third replacement
Dec 11, 2025
While traveling out of state, my 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe (2.5L) experienced a sudden loss of power and rough running during acceleration to pass; check engine light came on. Independent shop pulled code P0302 (cylinder 2 misfire). Vehicle became unsafe to drive and was left at a Hyundai dealer in Indiana. I later learned Hyundai issued TSB 25-FL-001H (Jan 2025) for 2.5L GDI injector internal filter breakage that causes misfires and directs replacing all four injectors. Parts were quoted up to three weeks on backorder. This sudden power loss during highway passing presents a safety risk (inability to accelerate/merge). Vehicle is under 60,000 miles.
Aug 18, 2025
Vehicle failed to accelerate while operating on the highway. Pulled over and shut vehicle off and smelled gas. Vehicle would not stay started. Towed to dealer and was told it was a defective fuel injector. All injectors were replaced. Apparently this is a known problem. This could have been extremely dangerous if I wasn’t able to pull over. Hyundai should issue a recall to replace these defective parts.

3rd time having the same engine issue where the fuel injector keeps going out. Once in February then again in April now again in Jan. The car shakes violently and unsafe to drive even when at a standstill.
Feb 01, 2025
I filled up my gas tank and the digital guage was on 266 miles. After I filled up, it was the exact same mileage on the dashboard. It did not move after putting in about 4-5 gallons of gas.

ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

A few days before the complete engine failure the car became very jerky on the throttle response I would slowly add throttle and the car would jump all over the place with RPMs and felt extremely jerky when shifting gears. At one point the engine downshifted past redline when decelerating off the highway. The day of the engine failure I was accelerating up hill after leaving a stop sign. Around 25 mph the throttle stopped responding and the engine went to idle around 800 rpm. The car started violently shaking and sounding like it was running on 3 cylinders. I tried the throttle again and nothing happened. At this time I was slowing to a stop on the hill while still in lane being unable to get out of lane to the shoulder. Upon coming to a stop the vehicle continued to shake and eventually the engine stalled while keeping the electric on. At this point there was never any lights on the dash board to indicate a fault. Upon attempting to restart the engine it turned over 3 times and eventually started all while violating shaking and eventually stalling again. The third time attempting to start it did not turn over. At this point I was stuck in lane and needed to call the police to come and assist me because I was unable to move the vehicle under its own power putting my life in danger. Upon taking getting it towed to a dealership they said it was a fuel injector fault.

Was traveling on [XXX] near Reston, VA when the Santa Fe engine started missing and losing power and check engine light came on. Vehicle was towed to dealer and repaired on 04/26/24 Mileage was 36285. The repair order says it was fuel injector for cylinder #1. The second time the same thing happened was on [XXX] near Haymarket, VA. The date was [XXX], mileage was 36577. The engine started missing lost power and check engine light came on. Vehicle taken to dealer for repaired. They replaced injector #2. The third time was about [XXX] mileage about 51000. Was traveling near Haymarket, VA. Engine started to miss, decrease in power, check engine light came on. Vehicle was towed to dealer. Inspection of the engine revealed injector #3 was malfunctioning and they needed to replace it but could not get the injector for it from Hyundai. The vehicle has been setting at the dealer since then with no idea when it will be repaired. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Was driving on the highway while it was in cruise control and on several occasions when trying to accelerate the vehicle would jerk aggressively and struggle to accelerate. It did this about 3 times on my way to my destination. Took it in and they said they couldn’t find anything wrong with it nor could they replicate the issue. No work was on done on it.
Jul 03, 2024
The car has been taken to the dealer multiple times for not accelerating out of 1st gear when starting up, and also for shuddering at high speeds. We have been stranded, hundreds of miles from home on 2 occasions, first with less than 30,000 miles because the spark plugs needed to be replaced. And the second occasion, also hundreds of miles from home, because the car failed on the highway and limped into a dealership, where one of the fuel injectors was replaced at approx 50,000 miles. The mechanic at this dealership voiced his concerns that these were the original fuel injectors, He said he was aware of the problem, but was only permitted to replace one of the fuel injectors. The car continues to shudder at occasionally, and refuses to shift out of 1st gear at odd times. We have tried to get Hyundai to replace the fuel injectors, but they refuse. I would like this to be serve as a record of our problems so that others can be aware of a problem that exists with these cars. This is a safety issue, as if the car will not accelerate on a highway or crossing a road, it is possible to have an accident. Also, having the car fail on a remote highway is also a safety issue.
Jan 31, 2024
Vehicle check engine light came On while driving and vehicle began misfiring. Vehicle was in the shop and injector was found defective. Vehicle again had same issue but intermittently and wife would have to pull over and shut down the car to be able to drive it safely home. Dealership tried blaming bad gas which was purchased a mile from dealership. Within 50 miles vehicle began acting the exact same way and Hyundai dealership says injector needs replaced but blaming contamination not a known issue Hyundai has with injectors. Found multiple instances of same issue and same made up issue of contaminated gasoline even at the same dealership I went to. Faulty injectors make the vehicle unsafe when traveling at highway speeds on busy highways.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

The vehicle has activated it emergency breaking feature several times now on the last couple of months witouth any reason to do so. Presenting a major risk for the occupants and to other vehicles on the roads.

Front radar system continues to not work without having damaged caused. Makes cruise control not work. Forward collision not work, etc.
Jun 19, 2024
On several occasions now The vehicle is engaging the automatic emergency braking system for no reason. Several times I have been driving on the highway without a car in front of me and it engages the automatic emergency braking system. This has caused me to almost be rear-ended because my vehicle slammed on the brakes. I have almost been in several accidents now due to the automatic emergency braking activating for no reason and cars almost hitting me.
Sep 21, 2023
On three separate occasions over 18 months, the car has entered into front collision avoidance mode by unexpectedly swerving the vehicle and braking. Twice I was on the tollway doing 70 mph on a 4 lane expressway and I drove in between two tractor/trailer semis. When I reached mid point, the car braked heavy on it's own and swerved first the right, then to left. In each incident, not only did it scare the hell out of me, I thanked god I avoided a major accident from crashing into the trucks and or being hit from behind. In the third incident (date of this complaint) I was driving over train tracks on two lane road at about 35-40 mph, there were yellow black traffic barriers dividing the narrow roadway at the tracks and the car suddenly braked and swerved, nearly getting me rear ended and putting me down into the culvert around the tracks. In each incident it was difficult to take control of the car back from the collision avoidance.

Vehicle experienced a spontaneous interior fire while parked and turned off. No collision, no injuries. Fire originated under the driver-side lower dash/kick panel near the fuse/BCM wiring, then spread into the driver door harness/trim. Exterior body and engine bay show no impact or external origin. Details: Heavy charring/melt concentrated at lower dash/junction area with upward/sideways spread along wiring paths; interior plastics, dash switches, and door wiring damaged. Vehicle was unoccupied. Aftermarket: No hardwired accessories in the origin zone. A dashcam was powered via center console USB/12V with a small battery pack (not connected to the under-dash fuse block). Status: Towed to [Dealer, City/State]; Hyundai Corporate Case #XXX opened. Insurance comprehensive fire claim opened; origin-and-cause inspection pending. Request: NHTSA investigation into potential electrical/wiring defect in driver lower dash/door-harness area on this model/year; safety risk of parked, unattended fires. Photos/videos available. The horns stopped working, and this is a safety item since it’s the only way to notify another vehicle or pedestrian if they will be hit by my car. Another day, a car came out of the parking lot and almost hit my car. I was only able to avoid that accident because I reversed quickly. I took my car to the dealership, and it was confirmed that the horns are not working. To fix this issue, I need to replace them. But since my car is out of warranty, I will need to pay for this service. On 07/14/2025, I called Hyundai (Case number 4117-7538) to request the application of an extended warranty that they started to offer for the 2021-2025 model year Elantra (Z03). Since my car is the 2022 model year Santa Fe, they did not accept my request. I noticed that on several websites, Hyundai car owners are complaining about their car horns. Just the fact that Hyundai started to provide an extended warranty for a different model, but in the same year range as my car, confirms that they are having issues with this part. I just know about this extended warranty because I also have an 2024 elantra hybrid, that is covered by it (as you can see on the uploaded letter).

The integrated thermal monitor is stuck. When I took it to Ken Vance Hyundai today, they said it is a common issue and if left unfixed. It would blow the engine.

The back doors should unlock when the SUV is put in park or the motor is turned off. However, it does not unlock over 25% of the time. This means the back doors can not be opened from the outside or inside. People in the back cannot get out unless the doors are manually unlocked from the control panel in the front. This is a real safety issue if there was an accident and the people are trapped in the car. This issue has been reported to the dealer for almost two years. They have not been able to fix the issue. I have reported this problem to Hyundai National Consumer Affairs (case # [XXX]) asking for their help. I ask if this falls under the lemon law since it can not be fixed and is safety issue. I was informed they could not help me. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
3 complaints
Vehicle began to display Front collision avoidance system error/ radar blocked. This also disabled the 'smart' cruise control features. This happened any time the cruise control was engaged and we encountered traffic. The unit was in the dealer's service department for a week, and the front radar module was replaced and reprogrammed under warranty.

I was driving at approximately 65 MPH using the advanced cruise control system. Randomly, the system disengaged and I started getting 2 MIL warnings on my console. MIL warning 1) was "Check Forward Safety System" and 2) warning the advanced cruise control parameters are not met due to warning 1. A few minutes later, I received a message on my Hyundai Blue Link app showing DTC C162078. After researching this DTC, I found that there are hundreds, if not thousands, of other drivers that experienced this same/similar situation -- unexpected loss of advanced safety features and smart cruise control features. In fact, Hyundai published a technical bulletin for another model with the same issue. The loss of these functions places an unexpected safety risk to the driver if this issue occurs when there is other traffic present. My vehicle was involved in a frontal accident once about 1.5 years ago and this issue has never occurred. This is the first instance of this issue since I purchased the vehicle brand new from the dealer.

Hi Team, Issue 1: unexpected Acceleration: Recently I found that is there is unexpected additional acceleration when I press gas pedal initially after changing gears from P to D. I am setting up an appointment with dealer to report and investigate this issue. My Car has only around 13000 miles on it. This issue was initially observed when one morning when i headed somewhere there is unexpected acceleration when I slightly press gas pedal. Issue 2: The Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) doesn't work properly when set to adaptive cruise control. It doesn't slow down /stop when getting close to cars parked at signal specially as slight curvy roads.

Bought Car in 2022 when COVID was still a problem. I had problems with the LED screen on the dash turning off. It did come back after about 10-15 minutes. I had to pull over to the side of the road in the meantime. I brought my car in and no problem was found. I was told that there was no way they could order a $6,000 part if they could not reproduce the problem. I still have had this problem periodically, but it does not last as long. This can be a safety risk when the screen goes out when driving. My check engine light has gone off many time in the 3 yrs and 7 months of me owning the vehicle. I am asked if the light is blinking when this occurs. If I said 'no', I was told 'then you don't have to worry'. I had my car in to evaluate the engine light on, and was told not to worry that no code showed up (I did not get a service record if they didn't find any thing, despite me asking). The very next day I was stranded on a busy Hwy. My car was towed to the shop. I barely got off the Hwy as one of my fuel injectors was bad. I was 45 min from my home and the check engine light went on. I started driving home and called the service dept. I was told that as long as the light was not blinking, it would be ok, and I tomorrow I should call for an appt if it is still on. My car started to act up when I was nearing my home, but it was drivable. The next morning the light was still on. I did not feel safe driving it around and felt it was another fuel injector. I was driving my car to the shop and the car was slowing down a little at a time. By the time I was about 1/2 mile from the shop, my car was only going 14 miles per hour. I was driving on the side of the hwy with my flashing lights on. Very unsafe. I know that I have a lemon for a car, but not taken seriously, that is a PROBLEM. I have had many more times that my engine light was on and would bring it in for an evaluation. Sometimes things were found, other times not. I am concerned about that lack of concern.

We have had already had two issues with our Hyundai Santa Fe that we purchased new from a dealer on 5/21.The first malfunction happened on 7/23. While driving, we had several messages come across the dashboard warning that some sensors were not working properly. We then had the warning light, front collision light, the traction control light, the abs light, the auto hold and the emergency brake all light on the dash. We also lost the blind spot sensor on the side mirrors. Called the dealer and took the car in. Two days later was told it was a wheel sensor and all should be good. Then on 8/31, while merging onto a highway, I pressed the accelerator and although the engine revved, the car did not increase in speed. Luckily the car behind me was able to swing around me and I put on my hazards and pulled to side of the road. I turned the car off, restarted it and pulled out. Five miles down the road, while in traffic, the same issue occurred, but after about thirty seconds or so, the car jerked and picked up speed, Back to the dealer it goes and they called to tell me that they cannot replicate it and there are no diagnostic codes showing. They are going to keep it for a few more days to do some more diagnostic testing, but don't know what the issue is. This is a brand new car -

My vehicle has been having repeated issues within 2.5 years of my purchase. Initially it was the transmission and Hyundai service center with poor customer service kept the car for almost 20-25 days before replacing the vehicle. Now, I have picked up the vehicle for less than a week and I get another Powertrain DTC code P030100 and check engine light on. Hyundai service centers are worst in the country, very poor customer service. I have to take my caribou 100 miles away to a different service center because the in town service center wouldn’t even look at the car and says has no appointment. I have to drive the car for about 100 miles with engine light on which poses a major risk to the car and myself to even ben able to get the car service done under warranty. Middle of May 2024 car begins to feel like it's shifting when accelerating and stopping. Nothing found by Hyundai Service Dept. Lakeland. On apx. [XXX] while driving stepped on gas pedal and felt no power. Kept pumping the pedal & car started jerking. Managed to get to light and get in left lane to turn into plaza honking horn. Car slid to a stop at entrance. On apx. [XXX] my husband was driving home and same thing happened. Managed to slide car into our driveway. Both times the car had to be towed to dealership. Two fuel injectors have been changed and when I asked them to change other two they said warranty would not allow. Worst case scenario is if this happens on the interstate traveling at 75 miles per hour. Not only could we be killed but others. Both times there was no warning lights or any other warning. The car just started jerking and lost power. It can very well cause a car to rear end us and a multiple car chain reaction hurting or worse killing others. I am filled with anxiety every time I take the car out for errands. I also saw a similar incident reported in the Better Business Bureau here in Tampa by another person. I reported my incident to Hyundai Corporation by phone and email and asked the rep to reported it to her superiors to see if they could just please let the dealership replace my other two fuel injectors & I was told they could do nothing. The dealership has told me several times the injectors must fail before they can replace. Apparently, the cost of the injectors is more than someone's life. Ref NHTSA TRACKING # 11557625 Vehicle broke down again within 5K miles and 45 days of prior repair referenced in above case. Similar conditions, highway speed, bucking and vibrating, loss of speed control, no warning. Subsequent repair confirmed same issue (fuel injector) as original breakdown/repair and my initial notification to NHTSA.

Vehicle began to shake, buck and emit a grinding noise while traveling on highway resulting in loss of speed control and associated fear. Check engine light appeared simultaneously. No prior indication of a problem. Managed to limp to next exit via shoulder. Had car towed to dealer as warranty was still in effect. Problem was diagnosed as fuel injector failure and repaired. Learned it is a common, recurring issue with Hyundai 4 cylinder engine. Not unusual to have multiple failures per vehicle. Hyundai is only authorizing repair/replacement upon individual failures, not pre-emptive even though common and recurring. Confirmed this is a common, recurring issue across Hyundai via our local mechanic and internet info. Vehicle has now experienced a second failure and is being towed to dealer.

The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe. The contact stated that intermittently, the gear shifter was inoperable, and the message "Gear Shift Malfunction" was displayed. The contact stated that the failure required that the vehicle be turned, which automatically engaged the parking brake. The contact stated that upon pressing the Start button, and then depressing the brake pedal, the contact was able to move the gear shifter to park(P) and to the other gears. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the wiring was open between the transaxle, the rain switch, and the shift control unit. The dealer replaced the wiring. Upon test-driving the vehicle, the dealer noticed that the vehicle was still experiencing abnormal vibrations. The dealer recommended that the transmission be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.

Vehicle purchased 9/1/24 from Courtesy Hyundai of Tampa. Dealership failed to file registration/tags until 10/4/24. 7/12/25: Vehicle experienced involuntary acceleration and braking, resulting in impact with my mother’s home. 7/16/25: Dealer issued written report stating vehicle was operating normally and documented a recall-related display/audio/camera software update. 8/14/25: Hyundai engineering inspection performed without my knowledge. No report has ever been released. 8/27/25: Hyundai issued corporate denial, blaming driver error and stating braking/acceleration systems were normal. 12/5/25: Second involuntary braking incident at highway speed on I-275. Five uncommanded braking events over ~20 miles. Service Manager stated failure was due to sensor/camera malfunction and instructed that the vehicle should not be driven and to tow immediately. Despite this, the vehicle had been released into roadway operation. VIN lookup shows an open, unrepaired federal recall (24V879000 / Recall 271) for the rearview camera system, marked Recall Incomplete, despite the dealer’s documentation that recall-related camera/software work was completed on 7/16/25. BBB Auto Line denied my claim only because the vehicle was outside Florida Lemon Law eligibility. No safety determination was made. Hyundai released no engineering, sensor, or camera data despite an engineering inspection. This vehicle has experienced repeated involuntary braking and acceleration at highway speed, involving braking, camera, and automatic emergency braking systems, creating a serious risk of loss of control, collision, injury, or death. Despite repeated failures, contradictory diagnostics, withheld engineering data, and an open federal recall, the vehicle was released back into public roadway operation. I request that NHTSA formally investigate this safety defect.

Oct 22, 2025
I have a 2022 santa fe xrt within the 1st yr of owing in 2022 the horn stopped working in the winter. Went to dealership told it was known issue they replaced it. A few months later into following year still winter went out again they fixed again stating my car has 2 horns and both failed. So far 2022 and 2023 2 times. Fast forward to earlier in 2024 beginning of year horn failed again took to dealer expressed my concern of this is a safety and inconvenience issue they apologized but no recall yet. Now it's almost 2025 and I will be taking my car back to the dealership this weekend for yet another time due to the horn not working at all. I've found out my horn has not worked due to driving and a vehicle almost colliding into my lane and went to honk horn and nothing. A separate time a person has cut out in front of me almost causing an accident and all I could do is to lock up my breaks and swerve hope they see me and don't get hit could not beep to warn them. I bought the car brand new in 2022 feb and I have had the horn replaced 4 to 5 times and they still are staying no recall this is ridiculous.

Fuel access door does not open correctly. Fuel door does not have a lock or a require pressing of a button to open; you would normally just 'push' on closed door to make it pop open. Over the past (3) months, this has not always been working. Sometimes it requires multiple high-pressure pushes (or a light bump) for door to open. On other occasions, unlocking the vehicle (all doors) and not just the driver's door that unlocks when exiting the vehicle has somehow contributed to getting the fuel door open. Multiple online Hyundai Santa Fe forums make mention of the fuel door being a widespread issue and suggest requiring replacement of an actuator in fuel door by dealership or prying the fuel door open with a screwdriver. Prying door open, in my opinion, is not an option because of potential damage to door and painted surfaces around the fuel door.

There is a transmission recall on the 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe with the exact problems the car has been having. Recall #236, campaign #22V746000. I called the recall consequences customer service # and they stated they were unable to help me until the dealership looked at it. The problem started in fall of 2024 and I took it into the dealership first on 11/5/24 and again when it continued the problem 11/14/24. The 11/14/24 visit they performed a software update and the car shifted smoother in Smart Drive Mode only. On November 28 2023, I was pulling onto a small highway when an alarm went off, car stopped (engine off) as other cars were coming towards me. The message displayed was "autostop is off. Shift to P or N and start engine manually". Because the alarm was so loud and I was concerned, I snapped a picture which will be attached. I immediately pushed start button and was able to get out of the way. I had not turned the Idle Start Stop (ISS) button to off - so supposedly it was on. (You have to push this button to turn ISS off. This happened twice until I was able to get to service department. After much time (and using a loaner car) Hyundai agreed to provide a new battery because of its health. This happened again. I took the car back and the manager showed me a technical service bulletin - regarding my car - "Rough Shift and Hesitation Improved Logic". This didn't sound like Idle Start Stop bulletin but I was assured it was (attached). Though the stall has not occurred since, the ISS icon at times just isn't there. My dealer is communicating with Hyundai to try to keep my car again and provide a loaner. I am reporting this because many others on Hyundai Forums are describing the same incidents. Yet I haven't seen anyone mention the Technical Service Bulletin, even though many have taken this problem to their dealer. To me this needs to be considered for a recall. I had a daughter and grand daughter in my car and had no idea what to do with cars approaching. Fortunately, just pushing start worked. I have read the manual and know what is required for ISS to work. All requirements were net. It is possible the TSB has fixed stall issue so I am mainly reporting for other drivers.

The front windshield wiper mechanism failed to work twice during a build up of snow/ice on the windshield. The first incident was while starting up the car in my driveway. I had to scoop out and scrape the snow from around the bottom of the arm of the wipers. After working on it for a couple of minutes, the wipers started working. The second time they completely stopped working was while I was driving on a 45 MPH road. Heavy, wet snow from the roof had slid down onto my windshield. I could not see because the wipers stopped working. I had to pull over to the side and physically scoop out the snow with my hand that was around the wiper arms at the bottom of the windshield, half under the hood. It was extremely difficult to get to it. I had to do this twice to get the wipers to start working again. I saw yesterday that there is a recall for this exact issue on 100,000+ Palisades. I am reporting this to the Hyundai Dealership from which we bought the vehicle last year. There were no warnings, lights, signs to indicate the wiper failure.

The vehicle is exhibiting heat spots on the rotors causing shaking while braking and making the vehicle not stop as designed or even reasonably safe. The issue first started at 7000 miles and became very undrivable by 9000 miles. The dealer turned the rotors at that time. Now the vehicle has 16000 miles and the issue has come back. I know of multiple others with the same issue including 1 family member with the same vehicle and year and multiple people on the hyunda forums. Ever since I bought by car in 2022 brand new the car has been shaking when I press on the brakes going around 70 mph. I took the car multiple times to the dealership and all they do is resurface the rotos. One time they refused to even look at the car so I called corporate and they got the dealership to do the same thing as before. But still the car shakes. I called corporate and they said to take to dealership to once again get the rotos resurfaced (how many times are they planning to resurface the damn rotors?) I took to dealership because the car was saying it was overheating. They ended up changing the thermostat or something related to it. And I asked them to once again look at the rotors because of the issue. The guy came back and said “we didn’t look at your rotors but you need brakes and that’s $500”. They refused to guarantee me if doing the break job will fix my issue. And I’m fed up. I looked online and as it turns out, the Santa Fe’s have a lot of possible manufacture defects. Such as: -Breaking System (Shudder / Vibration Common Issue) -Cooling System (Common Failures) - Suspension & Steering Components -AWD / Drivetrain (If AWD) -Electronics & Software - TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) Audit - Turbo oil-supply pipe crack / oil leak risk -Fuel-system pipe / fuel-rail hose leak (on certain turbo models -Transmission oil-pump / transmission-system recall (power-train issues) -Rear-view / backup-camera defect (visibility / electronics issue) (this actually did happen to me and they fixed it, but they denied it was a recall when I asked if this was common. So they lied) -Trailer-hitch wiring harness fire-risk recall And possibly more issues I’ve yet to come across other owners having. These are pretty serious issues. Some causing even the car to catch fire. This is extremely worrisome and I need peace of mind. Please help me out Thank you for your time

On [XXX] at [XXX], my [XXX] daughter was locked inside my 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe (VIN: [XXX] ) while holding the Smart Key fob in the back seat. She pressed the lock button, and the vehicle completely locked — with her and the key fob still inside. This violates the Smart Key safety feature described in Hyundai’s owner’s manual, which says the car should not lock if the key is inside. That system failed. There were no warning lights or alerts. I had no way to unlock the doors. I experienced a full panic attack. I feared my child could die from heat exposure. I was forced to break the rear window to rescue her. I was terrified the glass might injure her, but I had no choice. Since then, I have been emotionally traumatized and avoid driving out of fear it will happen again. To my knowledge, this has not yet been inspected by a dealer or Hyundai. I am reporting this because the Smart Key locking system failed in a dangerous way that put my child’s life at risk. Upon expecting the source of the glass in was discovered that the sunroof had exploded. Were lucky to have had the shade closed at the time of the incident preventing glass to fly in the face of my daughter who was sitting in the back seat. The incident left us stranded at a Hyundai dealer in Fayetteville Arkansas forcing us to rent a vehicle to complete our tip while waiting for repairs. We were informed by the dealer that this is a known issue and to keep a window cracked to prevent pressure from building up in the vehicle. This is a searious safety issue that needs to be addressed.

Backed out of my driveway yesterday morning on way to work, 5/17/23. Driving down my street approx 15 mph to stop sign. I was able to steer away from the home, went up the curb/lawn hit a couple of cable boxes and finally hit a pretty large oak tree on the same neighbors lawn. the car was still running on impact. As of now they have not given me a diagnoses. they keep wanting to say it was driver error, which is completely incorrect. I did obtain a video from my neighbor which doesn't quite show what happened but the sound on the video you can hear the engine accelerate and than right after you can hear the crash impact. I do not want to drive this suv I do not feel safe whether they fix it or not.

On delivery the vehicle pulled to the left on the highway. Vehicle returned to dealer next day and 4 wheel alignment supposedly done. Car no longer pulled to left. Vehicle seemed very unstable in wet weather but owner assumed it was ok. At 3000 miles owner discovered all 4 tires wearing severely while adjusting tire pressures. Called dealer and dealership wanted a month to get back into service dept. Took vehicle to a local tire dealership for wheel alignment check. Front tires toe was -2 degrees. Rear tires plus 1.7 degrees. Owner parked vehicle when driving in icy weather became too dangerous as vehicle would try to spin out without driver input. Alignment assumed to be off from factory and dealer staff only corrected what they thought was wrong with front tires instead of doing a full re-alignment.

3rd and worse instance where had loss of power. While trying to accelerate onto the highway my vehicle would not do over 30mph (highway is 60mph zone). No lights illuminated on dash that there was any issue. Impeded traffic until I could pull over. This was VERY dangerous, I was lucky to not be rearended while trying to merge on highway. Dealer has had my vehicle for a week not being able to reproduce event. No codes in computer and unable to locate any recalls.

We have a 2022 Hyundai Santa Fe with less than 17,000 miles. We pulled into the left turn lane at an intersection. When we stopped for a red light, the vehicle abruptly shut down all power with no warning. We tried to restart the car and nothing would work. We tried the hazard warning flashers and they did not work. Our vehicle was completely dead with no dash lights, no infotainment screen, we could not put the car in park or drive. We could not activate the emergency brake. It was as if the battery was disconnected. We were sitting in the travel lane of a very busy multi-lane roadway with no way to exit the vehicle unless we allowed it to become an errant vehicle. If my husband took his foot off the brake, the vehicle would have rolled backwards down the hill where we were stopped. After several light cycles, we were able to get a break in traffic and he was able to let the vehicle roll backwards and steer the car into a small roadside parking lot. I was able to find someone in an adjacent business who gave us a wooden chock to put under the tire so he could take his foot off the brake and prevent the car from reentering back into traffic. We called Roadside Assistance and tried unsuccessfully to restart the vehicle numerous times over the 2 1/2 hours while we were waiting for the tow truck. The tow truck driver came and was able to jump start the vehicle. This has now happened a total of 4 times in the last 4 months. The dealerships can not recreate the problem and there are no diagnostic codes because the vehicle dies abruptly. Hyundai Customer Service refuses to do anything to help with this issue because there are no codes and the tech can't recreate the issue. We can not drive this vehicle because when it happens it is very sudden and gives no warning. This could be a serious safety issue when the vehicle shuts down in the travel lane and we are unable to get out of the vehicle, activate emergency flashers or even put the car in park.

Front air bag did not deploy in accident. I was rearended in stopped position at 55+MPH by a SUV that pushed me forward causing front end collision with the stopped car in front of me. Front, rear and back passenger damage with intrusion. Towed to dealer. Bought new from Watermark Ford, Marion, IL ~3 months ago, no recalls, no other accidents. I sustained neck, head and arm injuries requiring immediate medical attention. Crash report with Illinois State Police. Auto insurance has full details and adjuster inspecting. I have pics of my vehicle and the ones causing damage.

We purchased my 2022 Hyundai Sante Fe in July of 2021. I had about 5000 miles on the vehicle at the time. On October 15th I was driving down a 2 lane road and heard a pop, I didn't think much of it, thought it might have been an acorn that fell on my roof as the area I live in is very treesy. Later that evening when we got back in the car to leave, we noticed the windshield was cracked, probably about a six inch area. I told my husband earlier that day I heard the popping noise but did not see anything actually fly up and hit the windshield. So we proceeded to call the insurance company who told us the entire windshield would need to be replaced. We were responsible for our $500 deductible. The repair shop contacted every Hyundai dealership in the southeast region only to find out the windshields were on backorder until Oct. 31st. (red flag) In the meantime the crack has spread all the way across the windshield. We found it odd that windshields would be on backorder so we googled "Hyundai Sante Fe cracked windshields" and we were floored at the amount of stories out there with the same exact problem, not only with the Sante Fe but other Hyundai SUV models as well. I just wanted to bring this to your attention because I feel the windshields are defective and unsafe. I don't know how many people this has to happen to before Hyundai acknowledges the issue. Even if it were an acorn that fell, it should not have done the damage that it did. I still feel it was spontaneous as I did not see anything actually hit or bounce off the windshield. So here we are still waiting on the windshield to arrive at the repair shop and out $500.

When my wife sits in the passenger seat the seat is so low she cannot see over the dashboard. When she uses a cushion the air bag off light goes on indicating she is not protected from collision. This is an obvious safety issue which my dealer claims to know nothing about and has no solution. Please contact Hyundai and have them address this issue.
