ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Vehicle: 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S Dealer: Larry H Miller Colorado Jeep, Aurora, CO DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM: My 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S has exhibited recurring charging and electrical system failures since taking delivery. The vehicle is advertised by Jeep as supporting Level 3 (DC fast) charging, with an official specification of 5-80% charge in approximately 28 minutes. In practice, the vehicle has been unable to reliably charge on higher-power DC fast chargers, and has exhibited symptoms consistent with an electrical/charging system fault. This has been ongoing for several months since the car was obtained. SYMPTOMS OBSERVED: 1. Vehicle fails to charge properly when connected to higher-power (Level 3 / DC fast) chargers, producing charging error messages. 2. Vehicle intermittently will not turn on / power up until it is powered off and restarted. This is a no-start condition that has created stranding risk. 3. Vehicle infotainment screens intermittently fail to turn on. SERVICE HISTORY: Please see attached repair order. DEALER GUIDANCE: The dealership's engineering/service manager has verbally advised me not to use Level 3 / DC fast charging on this vehicle and stated they cannot guarantee Level 3 charging will work. SAFETY CONCERN: The intermittent no-start condition and unpredictable charging behavior create real-world safety risk, including the risk of being stranded without the ability to recharge adequately on longer trips where Level 2 charging (which takes multiple hours) is not practical. Level 2 charging at home requires approximately 6.8 hours for a 5-80% charge per Jeep’s own specifications; if Level 3 charging cannot be used, the vehicle’s practical usable range is significantly reduced.

In April 2025, I purchased a new vehicle from AutoNation Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram North Richland Hills as a retirement gift to myself. After years of driving gas-powered vehicles, I decided to transition to an electric vehicle and purchased a Jeep Wagoneer S. While the vehicle is visually impressive, my ownership experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. Since the purchase, the vehicle has experienced ongoing and severe mechanical issues. It has spent more time at the dealership than in my garage. I have worked with multiple service departments and communicated with several representatives from Stellantis, repeatedly warning that this vehicle poses a serious safety risk and could result in injury or worse. The primary issue is extremely dangerous: the vehicle will unexpectedly surge forward with force and then abruptly lose all battery power. Despite being repaired approximately 8 to 10 times, the problem continues to recur. Multiple technicians, engineers, and even an investigator have attempted to diagnose and fix the issue, all without success. A few weeks ago, I experienced what I believe could have been a fatal incident. At approximately 5:15 a.m., while driving on the highway near the 121 and 635 merge in Grapevine, the vehicle failed completely. It was still dark, and traffic was moving at speeds exceeding 80 mph. My disabled vehicle was left blocking active lanes of traffic while other drivers swerved and honked to avoid me. Fearing for my life. This has happened so many times, but this time the failure could have been deadly. Following that incident, the vehicle was towed back to the dealership, where it has remained for approximately five weeks. Despite everything that has occurred, I was later contacted by a representative from Chrysler who offered $1,000 as a “goodwill” gesture for the whiplash I sustained during the incident. I made it clear that I was seeking a full buyback of the vehicle, including reimbursement of my investment. That re

The contact owns a 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 MPH, the vehicle failed to accelerate and stalled. An unknown service warning light was illuminated. The contact pulled over to the side of the road, turned off the vehicle and the vehicle was able to be restarted. On another occasion, while the vehicle was parked at the residence, the vehicle lost power, and the contact was locked inside the vehicle and was unable to open the doors. The vehicle was towed to a dealer, where it was diagnosed and it was determined that a software update was needed. The software update was completed; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,000.

Entire electrical system failed. Car was unable to turn off, it was stuck in gear. Now car will not turn on, or charge, unresponsive. It is bricked. I have a call into Stellantis and the dealership. It's been 3 days and I have not heard back from either.

Writing to formally express my deep dissatisfaction with the vehicle I purchased approximately six months ago. Unfortunately, the vehicle has been in the service department for nearly five of those six months due to persistent and serious mechanical and electronic issues that have yet to be resolved, despite multiple attempts by the dealership and manufacturer. The most alarming issue is that the vehicle frequently stalls and then abruptly lurches forward, simulating the feeling of being rear-ended. This issue presents a significant safety risk not only to myself but to other drivers and pedestrians. I strongly believe this vehicle is unsafe to drive in its current condition. In addition, the onboard camera system activates randomly while driving. While this may not pose an immediate danger, it is yet another sign of the vehicle’s erratic and unreliable behavior. The dealership has sent out multiple engineers to inspect and diagnose the problem, but none of these efforts have resulted in a permanent fix. The defects remain unresolved, and the vehicle continues to be unsafe and undependable. I have made it clear that I no longer wish to have this vehicle returned to me, as I believe it is inherently defective. What is especially troubling is that despite being aware of these recurring safety issues, Stellantis continues to sell this model to new customers — effectively placing more unsuspecting drivers at risk. Furthermore, because this is an electric vehicle (EV), I incurred additional costs beyond the vehicle itself, including installation of a home charging station and a full upgrade to my home’s electrical system. The manufacturer has not offered to cover these costs, nor have they offered to remove the charger or restore the damage done to my home during installation, should the vehicle be returned or replaced. I am seeking a fair resolution that fully compensates me for the vehicle, the additional infrastructure costs, and any necessary restoration to

The vehicle has experienced two critical drivetrain failures. The first occurred in December 2025 at approximately 2,000 miles. The transmission failed, leaving the vehicle undriveable and requiring a tow. After repair, the vehicle was returned still displaying brake-system service warnings and had to go back to the dealer a second time. The second failure occurred on March 23, 2026 at 3,471 miles. The instrument cluster displayed 'Service Transmission' and 'Service Transmission - Set Park Brake to Prevent Rolling' with multiple red warning indicators. Battery was at 47%, confirming this is not a charge issue. The vehicle lost all drivetrain function without warning and could not be driven. This is a safety-critical defect - complete loss of propulsion and the inability to hold the vehicle in gear creates a risk of the vehicle rolling and a stranding hazard. The dealer has been unable to resolve the issue after three service visits. The problem has been confirmed and inspected by the authorized Stellantis dealer.

On [XXX], my 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S (VIN: [XXX] ) suffered a sudden and complete electrical and transmission failure while I was driving my child to school. Without warning, multiple system error messages appeared, the transmission locked, and the vehicle became totally unresponsive. It would not shut off despite several attempts. The wheels were locked solid, and the tow operators had to use sliding skates under the tires to load it onto a flatbed truck. The dealer (Castle Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Naperville, IL) confirmed this condition is a known manufacturer defect under Service Publication [XXX], and explicitly stated that “there is not a fix for this condition at this time.” This event created a serious safety hazard — had it occurred on a highway, it could have caused a catastrophic accident. Jeep and Stellantis have acknowledged the issue but offered no immediate repair or replacement, only referring me to arbitration. I am reporting this to request an investigation into this defect and to urge a safety recall before someone is injured. While traveling on the interstate at approximately 70 mph, I pressed the accelerator pedal to increase speed. Instead of accelerating, the vehicle suddenly jerked, and the wheels locked up as though the brakes engaged on their own. I continued pressing the accelerator, but the vehicle rapidly decelerated without responding to throttle input. The most concerning part was that the brake lights did not illuminate while the vehicle slowed down, which created an extreme safety hazard because drivers behind me had no warning that I was slowing. A large truck traveling directly behind me nearly collided with my vehicle because the sudden deceleration was not signaled by the brake lights. This incident placed both myself and surrounding drivers in immediate danger. The vehicle is currently at the dealership service department for inspection, and I have reported this issue. At this time, the problem has not yet been confirmed or reproduced by the dealer, but the failure was unexpected, severe, and occurred without warning. Prior to the failure, the only indication was that a red wrench symbol with a lightning bolt illuminated on the dashboard. The failure itself happened suddenly with no audible or mechanical warning. The malfunction appears related to the braking system, power train, and/or speed control systems. I am requesting that this incident be fully documented and investigated as a potential safety defect, as an uncommanded deceleration at highway speeds without brake light illumination presents a serious risk of high-speed rear-end collisions.

The contact’s partner owns a 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S. The contact stated that the vehicle was shifted into drive to exit the driveway however, the vehicle accidentally shifted to reverse, requiring approximately 6 to 8 attempts to drive forward. The contact stated that the headlights failed to illuminate. The vehicle was on an incline with the front of the vehicle facing upwards. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact learned how to reset the vehicle while watching a YouTube video. After following the advice from the video and resetting the vehicle, the contact was able to drive the vehicle and accelerate as needed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who had not confirmed a diagnosis for the failure. The vehicle remained with the dealer for approximately 60 days. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 500.

Vehicle would not respond to any driver controls upon entering vehicle, disabled drive and stated the vehicle was being charged even though we were in the middle of an empty parking lot while shopping. I tried to shut it off in an effort to reset the systems but the vehicle would not shut down no matter what I did. Tried multiple times and it sat there with the charging in use indications and would not respond to any driver inputs. With no choice I exited the vehicle to go and get some assistance but the vehicle (currently on) would not lock the doors. As a result I stayed with the vehicle until it changed its status or I was able to get a tow truck. Approximately 35 minutes later the system reset itself and I was able to drive it straight to the dealer where they captured 22 fault codes. The vehicle has been at the dealer since 16 May with 1395 miles on it, we purchased it 28 April new from the local dealer. It left me stranded and unsecure putting me at undue risk.

The first time this happened I was pulling into a parking lot and all service lights started flickering and it said to turn turn off car immediately as I was driving, I pulled into the nearest parking lot and it just stopped driving. The second time, which was Friday, April 17, 2026 I was driving down a busy road and all lights started flashing, the big NO ASB brakes flashing and I had no brakes. It was terrifying. Thankfully I ended up going down a hill onto flat ground and was able to pull into a gas station and get stopped by the curb. I immediately turned off the car and called the dealership. This happens without any warning at all, just when I am driving. This car is completely UNSAFE and unreliable. I needed to drive 188 miles on Saturday and when I picked the car up from the dealership the service manager told me NOT to take it on the trip, after being told the updates were completed. The issue has not been reliably reproduced, but the vehicle has been taken to the dealership twice for the same concern. After the most recent visit, the service manager advised me not to drive the vehicle due to safety concerns, indicating the issue may still be present and unresolved. The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized dealership on two separate occasions. It has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer directly, police, or insurance representatives. No warning lights, messages, or prior symptoms appeared before either incident. The loss of braking occurred suddenly and without any advance indication. The failure involves the vehicle’s braking system and potentially the electrical/software systems. In addition to the braking issue, when the dealership connected a diagnostic device to the vehicle, it incorrectly registered the odometer reading as approximately 77,000 miles, while the actual mileage is approximately 4,801 miles. The failure involves the vehicle’s braking system and potentially the electrical/software systems. In addition to the braking issue,

CarPlay maps on the dashboard are not in sync with reality (even on the short ride home) often displaying the steering wheel icon and/or “0 m” directions that make no sense with the reality of where I was driving. After a brief stop on the way home, I turned the car on and the emergency brake initiated itself, as it so often has since we leased the car. So as the car slows down, the brake lights do not illuminate, alerting other drivers that the car is slowing or stopping, which is critically dangerous! This vehicle has experienced three separate safety failures within only a few months of ownership. Incident 1: While driving with my children in the vehicle, the battery warning light illuminated and the vehicle immediately entered a low-power “turtle mode,” rapidly losing speed in traffic. The vehicle had to be towed to the dealership. Incident 2: While traveling approximately 60 mph, the hood latch failed and the vehicle immediately decelerated to approximately 20 mph, creating a dangerous situation in traffic. The vehicle again had to be towed. Incident 3: While pulling into my driveway, the vehicle displayed warning lights when shifted into reverse and went into transmission lock, rendering it immobile before losing power completely. In all three cases my wife and children were in the vehicle and were placed in unsafe situations. I am concerned this vehicle has serious safety defects.

The radio head unit randomly reboots. This occurs usually when the car is initially started, and you are unable to utilize the backup camera or the camera freezes. Rear cross traffic breaking also fails and can cause an accident. I have also had issues with the powertrain, where the vehicle refuses to start, with a red lobster error message saying Service Electrical System.

While driving our 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S EV, the electronic parking brake engages without driver input while the vehicle is in motion. The vehicle suddenly decelerates as if the parking brake has been applied. This occurs without any action from the driver and cannot be manually released. This is extremely dangerous because the parking brake is designed to be used when the vehicle is stationary. When it activates unexpectedly during normal driving it can cause sudden braking that could lead to a rear-end collision or loss of vehicle control.

This is a brand new 2025 Wagoneer S Launch edition. On one occasion the vehicle lost all electric power while being driven. No electronic component worked on the vehicle including hazards. Had to leave the vehicle wear it died on the middle of the road. Was towed for repairs and remained int he shop for 28 days. I was told the delay in repair was due to a specialist from Stellantis being required. Vehicle again stalled about 2 weeks later while merging onto the freeway. This was during rush hour. The top speed the vehicle could reach was 8mph. While braking the vehicle would lurch forward. I had the vehicle towed again for service where it remained in the shop for 30 days. These are not safe vehicles to operate.

While driving approximately 10 - 40 MPH on two separate occasions, the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that the roof was vibrating. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where an unknown diagnosis was provided. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was scheduled to be taken back to the same dealer for a specialist to diagnose the vehicle. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was unknown.

The most recent occurrence happened on January 20, 2026. This was not the first time this issue occurred. During a prior incident involving the same loss of accelerator response and unpredictable vehicle behavior, my small children were passengers in the vehicle and became visibly distressed and worried. During the most recent incident on January 21, 2026, while driving through an intersection, the vehicle entered a reduced power or “limp mode” condition and would not accelerate when the accelerator pedal was pressed. When the accelerator pedal was released, the vehicle accelerated unexpectedly and rapidly. Warning indicators related to electronic stability control and the high-voltage system were present. Diagnostic information later indicated loss of communication with the high-voltage battery systems. The vehicle behavior was unpredictable and felt unsafe. This occurred after the vehicle had been driven and was not limited to startup. Given that this issue has occurred more than once, including previously when my children were present, I no longer feel safe driving this vehicle.

10/14/25: Started car and put it in reverse, slow to reverse. Then tried to pull forward, very sluggish with a delay, then when I pushed accelerator a little more, it took off and then it wouldn’t stop. I had to slam on breaks to stop. My head jerked forward and back and hit the headrest. My son was pushed forcefully into his seatbelt to stop the momentum. I turned on/ off car and then started to accelerate again thinking maybe something I did was wrong- but ‘felt that the car was off’. I tried to go forward again and the car wouldn’t really move, it was very slow to accelerate and then accelerated really fast and I got scared and the breaks were not responsive. The car was very slow to stop- I had to slam on the breaks again in the parking lot. At this point, I was very shaken up and so was my child asking if the car was safe. The shifting wheel was very hot. It wasn’t a sunny day and none of the other parts of the car was hot. At this point I was concerned about the electrical workings of the car and slowly drove back home which was just across Main street and across Channel. I then called Jeep and reported the problem. I also looked online to see if anyone had a similar experience and found a woman had a similar experience on 9/8/25. Road side assistance towed car to dealership. On 1/10/26 the same thing happened. Was backing out of driveway to do errands. Car slow to move when pushing accelerator pedal. Then accelerates very fast without much pressure on accelerator. Very slow to break had to slam on breaks to stop. In reverse, car started rolling forward first. Put back on charger and it seemed to reset everything and car worked normally. Afraid to I drive u less absolutely necessary due to inability to control car when it does this. Jeep contacted both times. Taken in for service first time- found nothing wrong and couldn’t reproduce. Out of town shortly after second time- car sat parked. Plan to take in 1/20/26.

While driving on the interstate, the vehicle went into “limp” mode and showed a turtle on my screen. From there, my vehicle decelerated drastically from 80 to 40 and did not allow me to accelerate. The screen showed a message that stated the systems were shutting down. My vehicle continued to decelerate as I tried to get to a safe spot out of the interstate lanes. After “resetting” the vehicle and waiting approx 20 min, the vehicle turned on as if nothing happened. This has happened 3 separate times in the span of a month.

While driving my 2025 Jeep Wagoneer S, I experienced a sudden loss of regenerative braking, which caused the vehicle to take much longer to stop than normal. On initial brake application, deceleration was greatly reduced and required substantially more pedal travel and pressure to bring the vehicle to a stop. A “Regenerative Braking Failure” warning appeared in the instrument cluster. At the same time, the vehicle’s power output dropped. The display showed multiple warnings, including Electrical Vehicle System Fault (wrench-and-bolt icon) and Reduced Power (“turtle”). A message appeared stating that the vehicle would shut down soon. Additional messages indicated that the Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) systems were disabled, further reducing braking support and collision avoidance capabilities. I was able to stop safely, shifted to Park, and powered off the vehicle. After opening and closing the driver’s door, I waited for all displays and indicator lights to turn off completely. A distinct mechanical clunk was then heard, consistent with the sound of high-voltage contactors disengaging. When I restarted the vehicle, all warnings cleared, and it drove normally again. This event created a potential safety risk due to the unexpected loss of regenerative braking, reduced propulsion power, and temporary disabling of FCW and AEB systems. The issue has not recurred, and the vehicle has not yet been inspected by the dealer or manufacturer.

I'm writing to report serious ongoing safety issues with my vehicle. Initial Service Visit (September 2024): I brought my vehicle in for two issues: Clicking noise when braking Trunk randomly closing on its own, which had hit my wife multiple times while loading groceries The dealership replaced the disconnects but stated they could not fix the trunk issue. New and Ongoing Problems: Since that service visit, the problems have worsened: The car now vibrates when backing up Clicking noises when braking continue The brakes feel like they're struggling to engage during sudden braking or in wet conditions The trunk issue persists and has become dangerous Most Recent Dealership Visit (Yesterday): I was told the trunk closing issue is "normal," but this is unacceptable for the following reasons: The trunk continues to hit my wife My [XXX] son was nearly trapped in the back when the trunk closed while he was putting on his cleats—he wasn't strong enough to stop it, and I had to run over to prevent him from being locked inside We nearly rear-ended another vehicle due to the brake problems Current Situation: My wife refuses to drive the vehicle with our children because she no longer feels safe. The car is currently at the dealership while they investigate, but at this point, I would like to explore options to exit my lease due to these unresolved safety concerns. My vehicle’s low beams are vertically obstructed by the front end design of the car - the low beams are set back in the headlight unit and at night they only project to a limited height on the roadway in front of the vehicle - this results in a very distinct line created and anything above that line cannot be seen - on a perfectly level roadway the projection of the low beams is adequate but when the vehicle is not n motion and the roadway pitches down at the slightest angle and when you approach and angle of road that is inclined you cannot see at night. This light project issue results in “overdriving your heads in low beams when other cars are approaching - the other morning I almost his a large deer and only its feet were illuminated.

I was driving in my son’s school car line when the car jolted and a red turtle appeared on the screen with a stability warning as well. The car would not accelerate but would then unexpectedly accelerate on its own. I had to diligently keep my foot in the brake as well as accelerate. The car wouldn’t go over 10ish mph. I held up traffic until I could get to an empty parking lot to turn off the car. Had I been on a busy interstate I could have been seriously injured and so could others. I’ve only had the suv 3 months and the service electric system continues to come on also. I took the car immediately to the dealership after the safety event and they kept it for a week. I also put in a case with Jeep/Stellantis requesting a buy back but the case manager called me Friday to tell me to go pick up my vehicle up as the dealership did a software update and my car was now safe to drive. I repeated told them I didn’t feel safe driving it and I didn’t want to get it back. They told me that I had to turn the loaner in and pick up my car and they would follow up with me after the weekend to discuss next steps and they would offer me monetary compensation for my inconvenience. I told them I did not money I want a buy back because I don’t feel safe in my car.

Right after purchasing the Wagoneer S, a big red sign and a red wrench showed up on the dash, saying electrical issues. It happened every day. The car stopped in the middle of the road and did not want to move until I shut it off and turned it on again. Sitting in the garage the car would not go into gear, just had all the lights flash. Restarted and all worked. Took to dealer, they had it two days and told me they did not have a fix for the electrical issue. Took it home and 2 days later same issues. Called the dealer again and took it back to the dealer. It has been sitting at the dealership for the last 35 days. Called Wagoneer, Stellantis and the new Jeep in Detroit. No help. Parts issues. I looked at a Wagoneer group on the internet, a large number are having the same issues and more. It has some other software issues like the automatic mirrors and supposed to retract and go back out after starting. Noise issues in the overhead. Missing the 115 volt charger and cargo cover. Waiting 3 months for that.

I am reporting ongoing, unresolved, and potentially dangerous issues with my [Year] Jeep [Model, Trim], related to the ECU, electrical system, and overall drivability. I just picked up the vehicle yesterday after it spent 31 days in service, during which the dealership pulled over 65 different codes. Despite this, the vehicle was returned to me with no true resolution, and within 24 hours of driving it again, it is now showing 23 additional new codes. The car has stalled while driving, creating an extremely unsafe situation. On several occasions, it refuses to start. At one point, the vehicle was stuck in drive for over 27 hours, making it unusable and unmovable. These issues are recurring and unpredictable, making the vehicle a clear safety hazard. I’ve contacted Jeep Customer Care repeatedly. My assigned case manager refuses to respond, and they will not assign me a new one. I’ve escalated requests to management multiple times and have been completely ignored. I am unable to get any assistance despite the seriousness of the issue. This vehicle is unsafe, unreliable, and I am left without a functional mode of transportation. I’m filing this complaint with the hope that it prompts further investigation into these vehicle failures and Jeep/Stellantis’ refusal to properly address them.
