The engine is failing. I took my Kia Forte into the dealership in March of 2025 for a blinking engine light and loss of power. It is under a warranty for engine replacement but Kia has done everything in their power not to help their own customer out. This engine issue can cause life threatening issues such as engine fires or stalling on busy roads which could lead to accidents. I will be getting further help from an attorney if the issue is not resolved.

The car has a knock sensor that causes it to go into limp mode. I was told by the service manager to drive it until the code goes from pending to not pending. The code is 1326. I have drove it, and it is not safe to drive. You can’t go ten miles without it going into limp mode.

I brought my vehicle into the Kia dealership (Jim Ellis Kia of Kennesaw) due to check engine light and limp mode activation. The code P1326 was identified, which is tied to Kia's extended warranty related to known engine defects. This all started Sunday [XXX], and I brought the car to the Kia dealership (Jim Ellis Kia of Kennesaw) on [XXX]. Despite this I was told I do not qualify for warranty service unless the engine fails completely. The dealership also attempted to upsell me unrelated services (such as an engine flush) without performing proper diagnostics. When I pressed for answers, I was told they did not even inspect the engine's cleanliness, despite recommending a $500 service. I called Kia Consumer Affairs and opened a claim. 2 repair orders were sent to the dealership, but the dealership did not respond to me or Kia Consumer Affairs. I was eventually told the dealership is refusing to work on my vehicle further and I was instructed to pick it up. The most concerning part is the Service Advisor at the Kia Dealership told me I need to "drive the car until the engine blows up" before I qualify for warranty. Started working with Kia care center about October 2024. My engine oil was burning internal and I was given a case number, was told to drive until oil was very low and drive 1,000 miles, and told NOT to add oil from Grand Kia. Took my car into Grand Kia, didn't get to 1,000 only lasted three months, Kia care center woman I was working with called many times keeping everything I said, did. Kia added oil and told me I had to drive another 1,000 miles until very low. April 14 took car back, shaking oil very low. They added oil and told me the reason my car was shaking was a spark plug was loose. That is not true it shakes when oil low, It happened before when oil was very low they told me I can leave I told them they are suppose to put in an engine, they said no, we aren't doing that. I called Kia care center put in my case number, couldn't speak to the woman I have been dealing with after speaking to two other reps. I spoke with a manager. He was also very rude. Said I was not getting an engine. I took my car to Christian Bros. Auto shop, they did a compression test, it's my engine, my pistons. This has been going on for about seven months, doing what they asked me to do. Grand Kia would not give me receipts because they were not charging me. I currently have 113,000 miles. My engine light stopped working, my car is shaking. I don't drive it, I'm frightened it will stop working while driving.

The engine has known defects, however is not on the engine replacement campaign. Failed at 114k miles. KIA refuses to acknowledge known defects. Dealer confirmed bad engine. Second opinion confirmed also. No warning or service engine lights. All oil changes were arouond 3k miles. Started with a slight ticking noise that progressivly got worse.. Driviability is fine. So this proves KIA has defective engines including the 1.8 liter.

Steering started acting funny, I called Kia 800 333 4542 about their Technical service bulletin and spoke with TY he stated this is not a manufacturer defect and is not covered for repair since there wasnt a recall. Popping noise from steering and play in steering wheel. Was informed by a local mechanic that is was the steering coupler for the MDPS unit. Checked and saw a recall for the same issue with the Kia Soul but saw nothing for the Forte even though Hyundai had a recall for the Elantra and Sonata for the same issue. This is a vital part of the car and if it breaks as easy as it does it needs to be recalled on all the vehicles that have it and not just certain ones. I have not had it repaired yet but will be doing so shortly as well as talking with an attorney about the issue.

At approximately 60000 miles my airbag light came on. Then it would go off. Now it just stays on. I went to the dealership and they said I would have to pay for diagnostics and any repairs. I currently have around 64000 miles. I drive it very little. Bought it used in 2017 with 19000 miles. I see that other Kia’s have their airbag light go on as well and are being recalled but not my year. I have not been in any accidents with this vehicle as well. Just seems that this diagnostic should be done for free since it’s a safety concern.

Husband was attempting to back auto out of driveway and when he put it in reverse, car accelerated on its own and hit the corner of our house. He then put it in drive and the car again accelerated on its own hitting the corner of our garage and then went through the garage door. The car is totaled. I called the Kia dealership where we purchased the used car and they said there was nothing they could do about it. They said I would have to call Kia consumer relations which I have tried numerous times and am put on hold each time for 30-45 minutes. I haven’t been able to reach anyone to talk to. I looked up Kia corporate number and got the same results. I cannot get through to talk to anyone about this matter. The car is a 2014 with 124000 miles on it. We had it at the dealership 1 week prior to this incident to the tune of $1650.00 in repairs and now must pay a $1000.00 deductible to get the garage and house repaired. We no longer had collision or comprehensive insurance on the vehicle due to a recent hailstorm and were paid out by our insurance company for what they thought the car was worth.

The issue had not been resolved, and I am reading countless of reports stating that Kia is picking and choosing who they will help, this is absolutely BS., that NHTSA will not even help with getting Kia to honor their recalls.

I purchased a 2014 Kia Forte on August 24, 2013. On August 26, 2021 I reported an electrical fire in the trunk of my car to the dealership. I was told not to drive the car but to tow it. My car was towed home because the dealership was closed by the time the tow truck arrived. The insurance company totaled the vehicle. I would still have my vehicle if this electrical fire had not occurred. The dealership stands on they sell and maintain the cars only. They performed the regular maintenance on the vehicle. They never noted any electrical issues. After 3 weeks they also said the car was totaled. They referred me to the makers in California. They had not reported the fire to them. After 2 months of going back and forth , Kia corporate determined they can not find what caused the electrical fire. Therefore they are not responsible. It was not declared arson. My car caught fire in the parking lot where I work in southern Louisiana while I was in northern Mississippi on the job. The car was locked and both keys were with me. The wires, the trunk door, the cloth covering over the top of the trunk, and back window burned. Some water bottles, sprite bottles and the empty bag of cat food they were placed on the day before burned. The plastic binders, the bottom of the trunk, and the spare tire space did not burn. It is clear the car had a defect. The fire could have reached the gas tank and caused an explosion. The wires burned causing the fire. The car set itself on fire. Even though the car is under the 10 year, 100,000 mile Waranty. They will not acknowledge the defect, the warranty, or responsibility. I was told by the Kia representative of my claim that they determined the light bulb did not cause the fire so there is nothing they can do. They could not determine what did cause the fire. They said they are not responsible. I believe they knowingly sold vehicles that would catch fire to a clueless public and did nothing to fix the electrical defects.

UNKNOWN My 2014 Kia Forte Ex has been having randon acceleration problems. I just bought it from an O'Brien dealership a couple months ago. It has also caused the breaks to not want to work. I was in an accident due to this and crashed into the car in front of me pretty hard. My infant and boyfriend were in the car. I noticed the cruise control turned itself on right before the crash and I was trying to turn it off. The damage luckily wasnt that bad. But the car keeps driving itself and the brakes not working. This happens almost every time I turn the car on now. The break pads are still brand new, as I and my dad have checked them. I have tried contacting the dealership about it but they haven't got back. This car is unsafe and I will not continue to drive it. There are no warning lights or messages popping up.

Hi. The problem that I am having is that a buy a car that was imported from Florida to Puerto Rico. I verified the vin number and I see that it need to have 2 recall fix. I go to the local Kia dealer and they say that because it was used imported vehicle they cant perform the recall. I want to know if it is any way that Kia can authorize or if they are obligated to fix the vehicle.

Driving down a country road at night when my abs light came on. After a few seconds my power steering went out and the main console died. The headlights began to dim and the dashboard lights sputtered on and off. The car shuttered strongly and then died. We were stuck on the side of the road in the middle of the night for over forty five minutes with a screaming infant with no warning that this was going to happen or that this part needed to be serviced or replaced for the milage of my car (90,000).

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 KIA FORTE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THEY NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE V PORT WHERE THE VEHICLE CHARGED FROM. THE CONTACT TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF ONCE HE NOTICED THE SMOKE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL SEATS WERE BURNED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ONCE THE FIRE DEPARTMENT CAME, THE VEHICLE HAD CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE CONTACT STATED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. A FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT WAS FILED. NO ONE WAS INJURED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TOWED. HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED TOTALED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT STATED A SHORT FUSE CAUSED THE FIRE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THEY WOULD RECEIVE A CALLBACK. A CASE WAS OPENED WITH THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE MATTER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,483

I have been trying to have my brakes line repair for a recall for over a year with the local Kia dealer as they refused to see me for over a year due to not buying vehicle there. I lost my brakes due to the recall on the lines and not being able to get an appointment. I almost died when my brakes went out. I called the local Kia dealer was told again I had to wait and that no promises could be months before touch the car. I had to fix it so I had it brought to an outside shop and submitted for reimbursement it has been over 60days no updates and no communication with the Kia claims department. I was told my claim would take about 30 days now we are almost at 60 with no updates when I call they say Derrick will call me back. No return emails or calling. My claim number is XXX with rental I paid almost $1800 for repairs that should have been covered along with a rental. No one can give me a status I call daily to be told that they can’t answer any questions only Derrick can but he does not take calls he will call me back in 24 to 48 hours. My wife's 2014 Kia Forte brakes went on me without warning, they went all the way to the floor and I immediately knew it was a hydraulic problem. the vehicle has just over 2500 actual miles on it. It was towed to a dealership were they determined it was a hydraulic issue and there was a recall on brake lines corrosion prematurely, I saw no leaks but the service manager told us that there was a manufacturer recall for that issue. Our vehicle has been at that dealership for 30 days already awaiting replacement parts with no progress, it will be months April 14, 2023. I need to know if the recall is valid.

The vehicle lost braking ability while being operated on the roadway. The brake pedal went to the floor, and the brake warning light came on. The operator was able to push hard on the brake pedal enough to eventually bring the vehicle to a safe stop. Upon inspection it was determined that the brake system had lost all brake fluid due to corrosion of one of the rear brake lines at the site of the retainer clip. There is also advanced corrosion on the other rear brake line at the site of the retainer clips. KIA already initiated a voluntary recall for this issue on KIA Forte’s 2010-2013, but the problem obviously exists for later model KIA Forte vehicles. This vehicle was only operated in NY during winter months for two years, in 2018 and 2019, so this level of corrosion on the brake lines should not have occurred. This brake failure could have easily caused a serious accident and injury.

WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, I HAD TO BREAK DUE TO ANOTHER DRIVER'S DANGEROUS DRIVING. I HAD TO PUSH THE PEDAL ALL THE WAY DOWN BEFORE THE VEHICLE WOULD BREAK AS IF THE BREAKS WEREN'T EVEN THERE. THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED FROM GALEANA CHRYSLER JEEP KIA DEALERSHIP LOCATED AT (180 GREYSTONE BLVD. COLUMBIA, SC 29210). THE REASON FOR THIS URGENT NOTIFICATION IS TO RECEIVE ASSISTANCE REGARDING THE KIA FIRE RECALL ARTICLE THAT DID NOT INCLUDE THE FORTE MODEL WITHIN THE YEARS SPECIFIED. UPON VEHICLE INSPECTION FROM JT'S KIA DEALERSHIP (THE ABS SYSTEM HAS A LEAKAGE ON THE FIRE WALL SIDE. FOUND THE HECU/ BRAKE MODULE HAS STARTED TO FAIL AND IS LEAKING.)

AN ENGINE FIRE RECALL HAS ALREADY BEEN ISSUED RELATING TO FUEL AND OIL LEAKS FOR MY VEHICLE. ON TWO OCCASIONS I'VE TAKEN MY CAR IN FOR REPAIR SERVICE TO THEIR FIRST KIA DEALERSHIP IN SIMI VALLEY CA, AND BOTH TIMES THEY'VE REFUSED TO COMPLETE REPAIRS, SAYING THE MANUFACTURER'S REPAIR SERVERS WERE DOWN AND INACCESSIBLE FOR THE NECESSARY SERVICE. ON THE MOST RECENT APPOINTMENT (APRIL 9), THE SERVICE REP TOLD ME HE'D GIVE ME A CALL ONCE THE REPAIR SYSTEM WAS BACK ONLINE, BUT THAT CALL NEVER HAPPENED. KIA HAS NOT REPLIED TO MY REQUESTS REGARDING THIS IMPAIRMENT OF THEIRS. MEANWHILE MY CAR IS BURNING THROUGH 1-3 QUARTS OF OIL A WEEK, THOSE GALLONS OF OIL LOSS HAVE ALREADY COST ME ONE CONTAMINATED CATALYTIC CONVERTER, AND I LACK THE WORK FLEXIBILITY TO CONTINUE SCHEDULING FRUITLESS REPAIR VISITS. MY CAR HAS A FLAW THAT THIS RECALL SHOULD FIX, BUT BETWEEN THE DEALERSHIP AND THE MANUFACTURER THERE HAS BEEN AN INABILITY TO PROVIDE THAT REPAIR. KIA FORTE IS BURNING OIL, BOUGHT CAR TO MECHANIC TO TRY AND LOCATE A LEAK, AND FIX WHAT ISSUE THE CAR MAY BE HAVING. A FEW DAYS AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR TO THE MECHANICS WHICH THE GDI AND PCV VALVE WAS CHANGED AND/OR REPAIRED. HE NOTED THAT THE SPARK PLUGS WERE FOULED WITH OIL, AND THAT HE COULD NOT TELL WHERE A LEAK WAS OCCURING OR WHY THE ENGINE IS BURNING SO MUCH OIL. AFTER THE CAR WAS IN THE SHOP WE RECEIVED A LETTER IN THE MAIL STATING THAT KIA WAS HAVING A RECALL ON OUR VEHICLE. RECALL NUMBER 20V750 - WHICH PERTAINED TO THE ISSUE I AM HAVING WITH MY VEHICLE, I THEN CONTACTED KIA AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT, WHICH KIA COULD NOT HOLD DUE TO THEIR SERVERS BEING DOWN, HAD TO RESCHEDULE, RESCHEDULED A SECOND APPOINTMENT, WHICH WAS NOT HELD DUE TO THE SERVERS BEING DOWN STILL. FINALLY RECEIVED A CALL A FEW DAYS LATER THAT THE SERVERS WERE UP AND IF I WOULD LIKE TO SCHEDULE, IN WHICH DID FOR MONDAY MARCH 1ST 2021. WHEN LEAVING THE CAR AT KIA ALL STAR IN DENHAM SPRINGS, LA THE ENGINE WAS TAPPING SOME BUT SHALLOW, WHEN I SPOKE TO KIA THEY STATED THAT THE RECALL MY CAR WAS GOING IN FOR WAS FOR THE UPDATE ON THE KNOCK SENSOR DETECTION SYSTEM, IN WHICH I WAS NEVER SENT THE SECOND LETTER AS PROMISED THAT THE UPDATE WAS AVAILABLE IN THE RECALL LETTER OF THE ORIGINAL RECALL I AM CONTACTING YOU ABOUT. WHEN I PICKED UP MY CAR IT DID NOT SEEM THE SAME, OR SOUND THE SAME, AND AS A COUPLE DAYS WENT BY THE ENGINE WAS SOUNDING ROUGHER AND LOUDER, CHECKED MY OIL AND HAD TO ADD MORE OIL TO THE CAR AND THE ISSUE OF MISSING OIL IS STILL HAPPENING. I CALLED KIA CONSUMERS AND SPOKE TO A JASON TO FILE A COMPLAINT AND THE DISPLEASED WITH THE SERVICES THAT I DID NOT RECEIVE AND THE LACK OF URGENCY IN THE RECALL ISSUES PERTAINING TO MY VEHICLE.

I REPLACED MY CATALYC CONVERTER IN JULY, WAS INFORMED THERE WAS AN INTERNAL OIL LEAK FROM THE ENGINE CAUSING THE CATALYC TO CLOG AND CAR LOSE POWER. REPLACED THE WHOLE THING OVER $2000. NOW EXPERIENCING THE SAME THING AGAIN. THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER WHEN ACCELERATED. AS WELL CAN SMELL THE OIL BURNING.

WHILE IN MOTION, ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS ON ONE DRIVE, THE ENGINE OF THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM REMAINED ACTIVE. ALL THREE TIMES THE ENGINE SHUT OFF WHILE ACCELERATING. ONCE AFTER SLOWLY GOING OVER RAILROAD TRACKS. ONCE AFTER BACKING OUT OF A DRIVEWAY AND GIVING GAS AFTER GOING FROM "REVERSE" TO "DRIVE". AND FINALLY, WHEN SLOWING FOR A TURNING VEHICLE AND ACCELERATING TO GO UP A SLIGHT INCLINE. I HAD A MECHANIC LOOK IT OVER AND DESPITE CHECKING AND TESTING EVERY COMMON CAUSE, HE COULD NOT RECREATE THE SCENARIO. ALSO, HE REPORTED THAT THERE WERE NO DIAGNOSTIC CODES THROWN AS A RESULT OF THE EVENT.

I STARTED THE CAR ONE DAY AND IT STARTED IDLING ROUGH AND SMOKING. WE CHECKED THE OIL AND IT WAS A QUART AND A HALF LOW. IT WAS NOT LEAKING OIL. ONCE WE ADDED OIL, IT NO LONGER IDLED ROUGH OR SMOKED. BUT NOW IT HAS A TICKING SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE WHEN I ACCELERATE. IT ALSO STARTED LOOSING POWER IN CERTAIN INSTANCES. I WILL BE ACCELERATING AND THE CAR WILL START HESITATING. THE CAR ONLY HAD 62,000 MILES ON IT WHEN THIS STARTED.

My 2014 Kia Forte experienced random stalling/loss of speed. The vehicle was taken to the mechanic multiple times- the crank shaft sensor was replaced, new batteries were put in, and a starter was replaced. When starting the vehicle sometimes it would not turn over or click a few times to start. A ticking noise was noted aswell and relayed to the mechanic-mechanic could not find any issues. The oil light began coming on and off-especially when stopped the light would stay on, when starting to drive if would go off. Took the vehicle to the closest mechanic-the mechanic said he has diagnosed another Kia with the same issue. He said to look up recalls. I found out that my car is experiencing the exact same issues as other Kias listed as NHTSA Recall Number: 20V750- It was diagnosed at a Kia dealer in which they noted the rod is coming lose in the engine and that the whole engine would need to be replaced. When calling Kia I was told I was not going to qualify because I have a 1.8 Liter engine, however the symptoms of the car are identical to the recall listed above. The car needs a whole new engine replacement. I tried multiple times to get my car diagnosed and was told by a few mechanics that nothing was wrong with the car. I do not feel that it is fair that this car is not included in the recall. It is a 2014 Kia Forte, and other 2014 Kia fortes are listed in the recall. The cost of repair is more than what the car is currently valued at. The car has just recently hit 104,000 miles. All the maintenance on the car was routinely taken care of and inspections/emissions have always been up to date.

The vehicle has spun a rod bearing of the internal engine. It is available for inspection upon request. Engine damage puts driver, passengers and all bystanders at extreme risk. Dealer has confirmed rod knock. Other automotive shop diagnosed spun rod bearing. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. The check engine light came on immediately before failure.

While driving the vehicle in June 2020, the engine started knocking loudly and caused the vehicle to vibrate so I shut off the vehicle. After being towed, the mechanic stated the rod blew through the block and knocked out the starter. The engine needs a full replacement and based on my mechanics review this would not have happened had the 12/2020 recall been conducted more timely. The Kia recall # stated Kia dealership would pick up the vehicle & inspect for free. The dealership has refused to work with me or my mechanic, advised it would not be covered based on being out of warranty and avoids explaining why it isn’t covered or what the actual recall is (they will only state the name of the recall, not why or the details).

THIS HAPPENED BACK IN JUNE OF 2019. I LEFT WORK NORMALLY AND NOT EVEN 2 MINUTES DOWN THE ROAD, MY CAR STARTED STRUGGLING TO MOVE FORWARD. IT WAS BUCKING AND COULD NOT ACCELERATE, BUT STILL TRYING TO GO FORWARD. THEN SUDDENLY IT STARTED MAKING A VERY LOUD TAPPING NOISE, STILL BUCKING AND THEN A LARGE POP AND THE CAR STOPPED MOVING SINCE IT DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THIS ALL HAPPENED WITHIN A MATTER OF SECONDS. SMOKE STARTED SEEPING OUT OF THE HOOD OF MY CAR. I HAD NO LIGHTS ON IN MY CAR ON MY DASHBOARD. I ALWAYS HAD FREE REGULAR MAINTENANCE(OIL ETC.) DONE AT MY KIA DEALERSHIP. I OBVIOUSLY HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED AND GOT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP SO THEY COULD LOOK AT IT IN THE MORNING. THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHY, BUT MY ENTIRE ENGINE HAD JUST BLOWN OUT FOR NO REASON. MY CAR WAS ONLY AT 87,000 MILES AND IT WAS JUST TOTALLED. I WASN'T WORRIED INITIALLY BECAUSE I PAID EXTRA FOR THE WARRANTY TO FIX ANY MAJOR PROBLEMS LIKE THIS, HOWEVER I CAME TO FIND OUT THE WARRANTY REFUSED TO COVER THE ENTIRE COST TO REPLACE THE PRICE OF A NEW ENGINE IN MY VEHICLE AND ON TOP OF THAT, WHEN THE ENGINE BLEW IT KILLED THE COMPUTER IN MY CAR, AND THE DEALERSHIP ALSO STRONGLY ADVISED I REPLACED SEVERAL OTHER THINGS ON THE VEHICLE. I'D HAVE TO PULL OUT MY RECEIPTS TO GIVE YOU ALL AN EXACT AMOUNT BUT WE PAID AT LEAST $5,000 - $10,000 OUT OF POCKET FOR THE ENGINE AND COMPUTER ALONE. TODAY IS MAY 8TH, 2021, ALMOST 2 YEARS LATER AND I JUST HAPPENED TO BE ON KELLEY BLUE BOOK TRYING TO SEE WHAT I CAN SELL MY GARBAGE KIA FOR. I HAPPENED TO ENTER MY VIN INTO THE RECALL CHECKER AND I COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EYES, ENGINE RECALL ISSUED LATE 2020. WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT, MY HEADLIGHTS WOULD GO COMPLETELY OUT. ONCE I SWITCH THEM ON AGAIN, THEY WOULD GO OUT ONCE AGAIN. THIS WOULD TAKE PLACE EVERY COUPLE OF MINUTES AND IS VERY DANGEROUS. My Kia Forte is from Puerto Rico, and I am currently having engine issues. The codes for the engine issues (and light) are P0014 and P0300. It can be inspected upon request. Kia America refuses to honor or attempt to look up the possible recalls for the engine, which is currently burning oil, and I've been advised that it's a safety hazard. I've been told that the engine is at risk of catching on fire, or exploding. This problem has been confirmed by an independent service center. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others. I have not had to get my car inspected as I am originally from Texas, living in New York, and can update my registration via online as long as the car is inspected as soon as I return to Texas. I have spoken to Kia Puerto Rico and have been told that it's the job of Kia America to transfer the VIN number over so that it may be looked up in the warranty and recall system. The warning lamps first appeared in August. I'm the third owner of the vehicle, and was not made aware of the Puerto Rican VIN number prior to purchase, but Kia Puerto Rico insists that it IS Kia America's job to fix recall items.

I RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER FOR MY ENGINE TELLING ME TO BRING IN MY VEHICLE IN TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT TO BE INSPECTED AND IF NECESSARY, REPAIRED OR REPLACED AT NO COST. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON SHORTLY AFTER RECEIVING THIS LETTER WHICH PROMPTED ME TO BRING MY VEHICLE IN TO VAN NUYS KIA. LONG STORY SHORT MY SERVICE ADVISOR CAME BACK EVENTUALLY, TELLING ME THAT KIA DECLINED MY CLAIM FOR HAVING TOO MANY MILES AND ALSO THAT I WOULD BE CHARGED FOR BRINGING IN THE VEHICLE, EVEN THOUGH THE LETTER EXPLICITLY SAID WOULD NOT BE. MY MAIN PROBLEM HERE IS THAT ANOTHER CUSTOMER, WITH THE EXACT SAME CAR, 2014 FORTE, TOOK HIS CAR IN WITH OVER 200,000 THOUSAND MILES AND GOT IT REPLACED WITH NO PROBLEM. NO MENTION ABOUT MILEAGE OR ANYTHING BUT THE MAIN REASON I WAS DECLINED WAS FOR HAVING 170,000 MILES WHEN THE CUT OFF WAS AT 150,000 AND I HAVE TO PAY AROUND 7,000 TO HAVE IT FIXED. THE RECALL LETTER MENTIONS NOTHING ABOUT NOT BEING ALLOWED TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN AFTER 150,000 AND EVEN IF IT DID, DOES KIA GET TO PICK AND CHOOSE WHO THEY HELP?

AS THE VEHICLE ACCELERATES, A LOUD TICKING NOISE BECOMES EVIDENT. IT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS ACCELERATING AND IN DRIVE, IT DOES NOT MAKE A NOISE WHEN GIVEN GAS IN PARK. AFTER MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME ISSUE WITH 2014 FORTE GDI ENGINES AND THE FACT THAT THE 2014 FORTES WERE NOT INCLUDED IN THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT, I DECIDED TO FILE THIS COMPLAINT FOR FEAR THAT MY ENGINE WILL SOON SEIZE LIKE THE MANY THAT I'VE READ ONLINE. The contact owns a 2014 Kia Forte. The contact stated that while buckling the driver's side front seat belt buckle, the front driver's seat belt buckle failed to lock securely as intended. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with front driver's side seat belt buckle failure. The contact was informed that the front driver's side seat belt buckle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 198,000.

The driver side seatbelt keeps unbuckling, this is after checking to make sure it is fastened completely, I have to keep checking the belt throughout the driving period to ensure it is latched. What if all my belts do this, and when my kids are in the car and if a wreck occurs and they fail to protect us? There were multiple incidents when it came unclipped was when I was doing 15mph and up to 60mph.

After T-boning a Toyota Prius, my air bag did not go off and my driver seat belt did not lock. As a result, I suffered a collapsed right lung, my left hand punched the windshield fracturing my wrist and had to have surgery from that. Also suffered my 7th right rib fractured. There was no warning lamps and no shop or dealer mentioned any of the malfunctions.

In May 2021 my daughter was in a bad car accident while driving my 2014 Kia Forte. The airbags did not go off and the seatbelts never tightened. Fortunately her and her passenger were not seriously injured and only received bruises on their knees and sore necks. There was so much damage to the front end of the car it was totaled by our insurance company. No warning lights were seen that day or even prior to the accident showing that the airbags weren't working properly. My car was not part of 6/18/18 Kia Forte recall#SC165 for airbags and seatbelts. The recall was for Kia Forte 2010-2013. While my Kia was a 2014, I did take possess of it in 2013. Starting in January 2014 I brought the car back to the dealership many times because of all the electric issues I was having with it. Since the dealership could not replicate the codes while the car was there Kia refused to look into or fix the problems. Electrical issues included doors not unlocking, doors not being able to be opened from inside or outside, windows not opening, headlights coming on while the car was parked, emergency flashers turning on without pushing the button, while driving traction/anti-slide light came on without a reason.

ELECTRICAL ISSUES HAVE HAPPENED COUNTLESS TIMES. SUCH AS TURNING ON THE BLINKER MAKES ALL LIGHTS GO OUT IN CAR THEN TURN BACK ON AS WELL AS REPLACING THE BRAKE LIGHTS ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. My car caught on fire out of nowhere when i pulled into my grandma's house. I was unaware of a recall until I was advised by the firman that put my car out that they had also put another kia out the same day and it had a recall. Upon searching I found this recall. I contacted kia and went through their claims process. They inspected my vehicle and are still claiming it didnt come from inside the dash board which is where the fire originated when I tried to put it out before it got out of hand. I have a video that proves i pulled in and it caught fire spontaneously. Kia has but me through trauma with that fire and I am lucky to still have a job with the work I missed without a vehicle.

When I engage the left turn signal the headlights will intermittently shut off. They sometimes come back on and sometimes do not. Usually after completing a turn they come back on. It's unpredictable and this has caused some scary situations. It is a continual problem that needs to be fixed by KIA.

My engine burns oil very fast, I am constantly putting oil in it even after oil changes. At one point, I was told by the dealership that I would need a new engine and that the catalytic converter needed to be replaced as a result of the engine problem. I ended up having to come out of pocket for the catalytic repair, 2 times... Thats right... 2 times. Upon returning to the dealership about engine, I was told that there was a recall for another issue in the engine that they would take care of. Upon asking about the engine, I was told the engine was fine. Also the coupler in the steering wheel column has gone bad, it was fine, until my clock springs were replaced by the dealership. The clock springs were under a recall/extended warranty issue.

My car caught on fire out of nowhere when i pulled into my grandmother's driveway. I had smelt smoke maybe 10 minutes before I arrived but assumed it was from someone starting a fire while I was driving. No smoke had started forming while I was driving. The smoke rolled out from the dash board area and kept spreading once I had arrived and got out to get my grandma from inside. My entire car was engulfed in flames within minutes. The firefighters informed me that they had put out another kia that same day and that there was active recalls for fires on kias. I kept my car at a tow lot for almost 3 months waiting on kia to inspect it. They claimed it was an outside source but I have video proof of us trying to put out the fire and the moment i pulled into the driveway. Kia is a terrible company and deserves no money for their cars. All of my stuff I was moving with was in the vehicle with me and Kia took no blame. They are lucky her house didnt catch fire too because it was almost close enough

I RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER STATING THAT MY CAR IS PART OF A RECALL INVOLVING A DEFECT IN THE ENGINE THAT COULD CAUSE AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE AND INCREASES THE RISK OF INJURY. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TO ADDRESS THE RECALL. THE MECHANICS AT THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT MY VEHICLE WOULD NEED A NEW ENGINE AND THAT THE ENGINE WILL FAIL. KIA MANUFACTURER IS REFUSING TO REPLACE THE ENGINE EVEN AFTER THEIR MECHANICS HAVE TOLD ME COUNTLESS TIMES I HAVE BROUGHT THE CAR IN THAT IT NEEDS A NEW ENGINE. I HAVE HAD TO BRING MY CAR TO AND FROM THE DEALERSHIP 3-4 TIMES NOW IN THE LAST 3 WEEKS AFTER MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEEPS TURNING ON AND FLASHING CONTINUOUSLY AND MY CAR WON'T ACCELERATE LIKE NORMAL AND WILL NOT DRIVE PAST 40 MPH. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE I INADVERTENTLY HIT A POTHOLE. IT WAS THE COLDEST NIGHT OF THE YEAR, -20 DEGREES. HITTING THE POTHOLE KNOCKED THE BEAD OF MY TIRE OFF THE RIM. I WENT INTO THE TRUNK TO GET THE SPARE TIRE OUT, AND TO MY SURPRISE. THERE WAS NO SPARE TIRE!!!! THERE WAS A "TIRE MOBILITY KIT". I ATTEMPTED TO USE THIS, BUT IT WAS TO ABSOLUTELY NO AVAIL. I CALLED THE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE NUMBER, AFTER WALKING ABOUT 1/2 MILE TO GET CELL PHONE SERVICE (STILL -20 OUTSIDE), I FOUND OUT THAT THE ESTIMATED TIME FOR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE WAS AT LEAST 90 MINUTES. I had a brake system failure of some sort happen today. My life and the lives of many others were put in extreme danger. I was driving at about 40 MPH and was approaching a red light. I pressed down on my brake pedal to begin slowing down, but I got absolutely nothing in response. Out of panic, I pumped my brake pedal. This again, did not slow me down at all and my brake pedal fell to the floor then went stiff. After it fell to the floor and went stiff, I pumped and pressed down on it again with all of my strength, at which point I was able to get a very small response and slow myself down to a stop. This is the 4th time this has happened to me in the past 45 days, I took the car to a local AAA shop but they found zero issues with my braking system (cylinders, fluid, lines, drums, pads, etc.) There has never been a warning light of any kind related to my brakes, wheels, etc. The Vehicle had a brake line recall several years ago, a certified dealer serviced the recall and ensured everything was safe with the vehicle and braking system.

THE REASON FOR THIS LETTER IS TO RECEIVE ASSISTANCE REGARDING THE KIA FIRE RECALL ARTICLE THAT DID NOT INCLUDE THE FORTE MODEL WITHIN THE YEARS SPECIFIED. UPON VEHICLE INSPECTION FROM JT'S KIA DEALERSHIP (THE ABS SYSTEM HAS A LEAKAGE ON THE FIRE WALL SIDE. FOUND THE HECU/ BRAKE MODULE HAS STARTED TO FAIL AND IS LEAKING.) The MDPS power steering coupler became worn out causing erratic steering issues.the coupler part its self is not even listed on the vehicle so the dealership would only recommend replacing the entire MDPS. i replaced the coupler myself due to lack of affordability for entire motor. steering is now fixed. additional ongoing issue with left turn signal bulbs have burned out repeatedly within days of being changed cuurently the bulb is working but the system doesnt register that signals are working causing hyper flashing. researching these issues i have found multiple online sources claiming similar issues with both turn signals and power steering couplers.

Back up camera only whats some of the time. When it sometimes works it is when the outside temperature gets around 65 degrees or lower, but even then it works some of the time. The screen flickers sometime when it working as well.

The Air Bag light stays on consistently, with the exception of flashing off for a brief moment periodically, only to return on immediately. Steering wheel mounted audio controls have mixed up controls, volume operating channel skip, while channel skip up, skips down, etc... I don't know that it is possible for the air bag to deploy unexpectedly, without impact, but the obvious concern is that it may not go off in the event of an impact, leading to excessive injuries. I had an independent service center advise me that the likely cause is a faulty Clock Spring, as this would cause issues with the steering wheel controls as well.

WHEN DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, AND OFTEN TIMES WHEN COMING TO A STOP AND THEN STARTING TO ACCELERATE AGAIN, THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER AND TURNS OFF. AT THIS POINT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, BATTERY LIGHT, OIL LIGHT AND OTHERS COME ON. THE VEHICLE THEN NEEDS TO BE PUT IN PARK, AND TURNED OFF, AND RESTARTS WITH NO ISSUE. THE FUEL PUMP HAS BEEN REPLACED BUT HAS FAILED TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. FUCILLO KIA IS ALSO REFUSING TO HONOR THE WARRANTY AND CONTINUE WORKING ON THE VEHICLE UNTIL THE ISSUE IS IDENTIFIED. A FLIGHT RECORDER BOX WAS PUT IN THE VEHICLE TO RECORD THE ISSUE IF IT WERE TO HAPPEN AGAIN ON ONE OF THE OCCASIONS THEY GAVE ME BACK THE VEHICLE STATING THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE ISSUE DID OCCUR AGAIN WITH FLIGHT RECORDER BOX IN PLACE BUT THEY SAID IT DID NOT SEND ANY SIGNAL STATING THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THEM 6 TIMES AND AT THIS POINT THEY WILL NO LONGER WORK ON THE VEHICLE DESPITE IT BEING WELL WITHIN THE 100,000 MILE/10 YEAR WARRANTY. THE ISSUE STARTED AT 15085 MILES AND NOW AT 19,000 MILES THE PROBLEM PERSISTS.

Bought a used 2014 Kia Forte from Ourisman Kia in Chantilly, VA in November, 2021. Had 116k miles. 2/20/22, traveling on 55 MPH three lane road, the car suddenly lost all power as I was driving in the left lane. Engine light was flashing. I put on hazards and was able to pull off the highway. On 2/21/22 Ourisman Kia service added oil, cleared error codes, and told us to drive 1000 miles and bring it back. We did not make it to 1000 miles. Car again suddenly went into limp mode and flashing engine light while teenage son was driving on 3/15. Code Po302 was detected. Ourisman Kia service replaced ignition coil and spark plugs 3/17. On 3/23, car again suddenly went into limp mode and engine light started flashing again while on highway. Returned car to Ourisman Kia service 3/24/22 where it still sits. Code P1326 is detected. At any of these three times the car went into limp mode while driving on highway, me or my family could have been in serious accident. Car completely loses power to nothing and then slowly rebuilds to max 2000 RPM / approx 40 MPH.

The engine on my Kia Forte failed just 12k miles after a recall service that was intended to ensure an additional 80k miles of engine use. Either the recall work to ensure that additional range was defective, or the process that designed the work was defective. Recall # 20v750 was to check for engine damage, and install a knock sensor update that would PREVENT engine failure. At the time of service the dealership ignored reported oil problems and did not perform the inspection as described in the recall notice. The eventual sensor alert that was supposed to PREVENT damage is instead being treated by the dealer as a catastrophic result that requires replacement. On two fronts the work performed was not as described- there was no legitimate inspection (note the reported oil burn reported by the dealership), and the prevention-enabling sensor update failed to prevent anything.

MY VEHICLE WAS SOLD TO ME UNDER A WARRANTY. UPON DRIVING THE ENGINE LOST ALL POWER. WOULD NOT RESTART. ENGINE HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE BY KIA. AS WELL AS A REPLACEMENT OIL PAN RANDOMLY. MY LONG TIME MECHANIC SAID THE OIL PAN WASN'T NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. 1ST REPLACEMENT ENGINE WAS DEFECTIVE. IN TOTAL THE CAR HAS HAD 3 ENGINES. EMISSIONS PROBLEM EVER SINCE. LIGHT ON AND KIA HAS BILLED AND USED ALL OF THE WARRANTY COVERAGE. ALL DOCUMENTATION PROVIDABLE. ALL OIL CHANGES PROVIDABLE.

I HAD REPORT THE ISSUE TO KIA OF TUPELO, MS. MY CARD HAS HAD TWO RECENT ISSUES. THE FIRST ONE BEING THAT UPON ACCELERATION, WHITE SMOKE HAS BEEN NOTED TWICE. THE CAR HAS STALLED OUT TWICE UPON TAKE OFF ON THE HIGHWAY/INTERSTATE. THIS CONCERN ME GREATLY! TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR/NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH WAS REPLACED. SUMMER YEAR 3. ISSUE HAPPENED ON 118 DEGREE DAY WHEN STARTING UP CAR. A WEEK LATER HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY WHILE DRIVING ON ANOTHER 118 DEGREE DAY. NEW ISSUES INCLUDE TACHOMETER AND SPEEDOMETER STAY AT 0 EVEN WHILE DRIVING. ALSO, DISPLAY THAT SHOWS RANGE AND GAS MILEAGE STOPPED WORKING PROPERLY. RANGE WOULD ADJUST WHEN GAS PEDDLE PUSHED, MPG STAYED BLANK AND DID NOT COME BACK AFTER CAR HAD RESTED AND COOLED DOWN.

THE OEM TIRES ARE 16 INCH NEXEN CP671 205/55R16 TIRES, AND MY VEHICLE CURRENTLY HAS LESS THAN 23,000 MILES ON IT. *TR THE FIRST TIRE (FRONT PASSENGER) DEVELOPED A WEAK EXTERNAL SIDEWALL ON OR ABOUT 12/31/13, WITH 7,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. I REPLACED THIS WITH A NEXEN CP671 205/55R16 OEM TIRE. THE SECOND TIRE (REAR DRIVER SIDE) DEVELOPED A WEAK INTERNAL SIDEWALL ON OR ABOUT AUGUST 15TH, 2014, WITH 14,500 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. I REPLACED THIS WITH A NEXEN CP671 205/55R16 OEM TIRE. THE THIRD TIRE (REAR PASSENGER SIDE) DEVELOPED A WEAK EXTERNAL SIDEWALL ON OR ABOUT FEBRUARY 25TH, 2015, WITH 22,200 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. The car will randomly cut off while driving, to restart the car must be put into neutral to restart and the lights go off during that time. If you are on the interstate going over 50, it will jerk and restart itself but the steering gets really stiff and you have to pull over and cut car off and restart to get the steering to work properly again.

There is this knocking noise that I continue to hear as if something is loose under my car, but when inspected, nothing was loose. It happens when I hit a bump or go over a hump in the road. The unknown smell scares me as this could be potentially hazardous to me and drivers around me. The knocking noise is terrifying making me feel as though my car is going to break down on me at any moment because of something that can’t be detected.

My car was parked overnight in front my house on the street, and I remote started it around 4 pm. As I was looking out the window to check if the car started- I saw it moving forward. I ran out of the house and within a few seconds- the car rolled into my neighbor's truck and sustained damage to the hood and frame. This is a safety issue because the car is a push start car- and should not have started and moved. Luckily it hit a parked car and not a person. The remote start came with the car when I bought it from the kia dealership in 2013. I called kia corporate and have an appointment to get the car looked at the closest dealership. I did not have any warning lights- but I did have my car recently serviced (oil change and valve cover repaired). I also am dealing with a clogged catalytic convertor due to a leaky valve cover- and was told by kia corporate this may be covered under a class action lawsuit.

on or about 6-6-2023 store employee Tim Creel was airing up the tire on the passenger side front of the vehicle. Tim used a kia air compressor which comes standard with a lot of today's Kias instead of spare tire. The tire pressure reached 32 psi when Tim unplugged the 12v connector. As he went to walk away he noticed flames coming from under the plug in spot. The vehicle proceeded to keep a fire going for several minutes as the other employee Eddie pulled up and put it out with a fire extinguisher. The owner mark then advised a report be made. My husband was driving down a street going roughly 45 miles an hour and all of a sudden there was a jerking feeling and the steering wheel locked up on him and he could no manage the direction that the car would go.yes it is available for inspection upon request. The steering and the direction of the car going 45. miles an hour definitely endangered us that was in the car and those that were on the road at the approximate time that we were. There was only 42000 miles on the car and we had only had it 58 days. We had it towed to the dealership Kia Nissan in Monroe La. And was told that it would cost 2000 to fix. So I then had it towed to another mechanic and got a completely different story. that the car had been wrecked before even though it didn’t show on the Carfax and they were there was ways to tell it and also told that rack and pinion‘s don’t break usually until 220 300,000 miles. I spent every penny I had saved after losing everything in hurricane Laura to buy this car. Not only do I feel very lied to by the dealership that I bought it from and misinformed and uninformed a certain issues that would’ve prevented me from buying a car on top of that I’m paying 24% interest rate and now they want to increase the interest rate because the car is broke down and they had to defer some payments because I can’t get to work because I don’t have a vehicle. I’ve had Kia check out the car and I’ve had two other mechanics check out the car and both of them told me separate stories different problems different prices and I need some help establishing where is the fault lies. Because I don’t think I should be responsible for a injury to a car or is it something that broke on its own and almost endangered our lives when the car had only been driven 42,000 miles. There was absolutely no warning signs no flashes of light no nothing to warn of this problem it happened out of nowhere and it was very scary and not rush I wanna keep the car anymore because I was scary.

On June 24, 2022 I was driving my vehicle on 435N to work. My steering wheel jerked to the left and started spinning out of control. I was driving at 60mph in the inside lane. When my steering jerked it caused me to turn headfirst into the inside wall. Brake light failure on both tail lights. The problem started by finding mold in the trunk. This was caused by water pooling in the bottom space where the spare tire would go if it came with one. Water leaks were observed from both tail lights into the trunk. The culprit seems to be bad gaskets for the tail lights. The gaskets have cracks which let rain water through. The poor design of this part has caused both brake lights to stop working. I fear water damage with the wiring / electrical system. The 3rd, center brake light still works. Will KIA pay to fix this important safety feature?

I WAS FORTUNATE TO PULL OFF AND USE EBRAKE TO STOP CAR ONCE COASTED TO A SAFER SPOT. I COULD HAVE BEEN REAR ENDED. I'VE PULLED UP TO MANY FORTE OWNERS TO LET THEM KNOW A TAILLIGHT WAS OUT AND THEY ALL SAY "AGAIN" THE LIGHTS ARE A MAJOR PROBLEM. ALSO MY DRIVER SIDE WINDOW WON'T GO ALL THE WAY UP. I HAVE HAD THE PROBLEM FIXED THEN ABOUT 6 MONTHS LATER THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN WHERE THE WINDOW WILL GO ALMOST ALL THE WAY UP BUT IT STILL LEAVES A LITTLE GAP IN THE WINDOW FOR AIR TO COME INSIDE WHICH WILL CAUSE YOUR CAR TO ROCK BACK AND FOURTH FROM THE AIR FLOW IN AND OUT. ITS DANGEROUS AS IT HAS EVEN PUSHED ME INTO THE OTHER LANE FROM THE AIR PRESSURE COMING THROUGH THE OPENING IN THE WINDOW.

THE LIGHT DOES GO OFF WHEN IT WANTS TO. I HAVE TRIED RESETTING THE CAR BY DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY FOR A FEW MINUTES, THIS DID NOT HELP. I AM VERY SCARED THAT THE AIR BAGS COULD DEPLOY AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT. 03/08/19 AT 5:45AM I WAS ENTERING US HWY 23 N. BOUND FROM CENTRAL AVE. IN SYLVANIA OHIO. THE CAR WAS HAVING ISSUES WITH ACCELERATION AS I TRIED TO GET ON THE FREEWAY. SUDDENLY I HEARD LIKE A FAN NOISE, THE OIL LIGHT CAME ON FOLLOWED BY THE ENGINE LIGHT AND THE CAR JUST SHUT OFF! I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AS SMOKE WAS FILLING THE CABIN. I GOT OUT AND WENT AROUND FRONT AND FLAMES WERE COMING OUT BETWEEN THE HOOD AND THE FENDER ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I CALLED 911. ONE POLICE AND 2 FIRE TRUCKS SHOWED UP IN NOTHING FLAT! THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS TURNED OFF AT RANDOM AND WOULD REMAIN ILLUMINATED AFTER THEY WERE MANUALLY TURNED OFF. THE SAME DEALER STATED THAT THE INTERIOR SWITCHES WERE INOPERABLE. THE FAILURES WERE NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.

I WAS UNINJURED, HOWEVER AS U CAN SEE LOTS OF DAMAGE TO FRONT AND DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. I CONTACTED KIA RIGHT AWAY DO TO THE RECENT RECALLING BRAKE STOP PEDAL. I TOOK PICTURES THEY REQUIRED ANDCS3NT THEM AS, TOO THEY WERE CONCERNED OF NON AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. THEY DETERMINED VIA AN ENGINEER WITH IN THEIR DEPT. JUST BY LOOKING AT PHOTO'S THAT AIRBAG SHOULD NOT HAVE DEPLOYED. SO, MY ISSUE WITH THIS IS THEY ARE MAKING A DETERMINATION BY NOT PHYSICALLY HAVING VEHICLE DAMAGE TO MAKE ASSUMPTION AIRBAGS NEVER DEPLOYED. UPON LOOKING AT OTHER COMPLAINTS ON HERE ABOUT THE SAME TIME AS MINE. THIS MAYBE A CONCERN GOING FORWARD. I HAVE GIVEN SAID AUTOMAKER TO HELP WITH REPAIRS FROM ACCIDENT. OUR KIA FORTE WILL NOT DEFOG THE WINDOWS ON THE INSIDE UNTIL IT IS ABOVE 0 WEATHER OR THE SUN IS SHINING BRIGHTLY. I HAVE TO OPEN THE WINDOWS ON THE SIDES TO BACK OUT OR PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC SO I CAN SEE AND WHEN IT IS 30 BELOW IT ISN'T FUN. THE WINDOW IS CLEAR WHEN I PULL IT OUT OF THE GARAGE IN THE MORNING BUT AS SOON AS I GO DOWN THE ROAD IT STARTS TO FOG UP AND FREEZE ON THE INSIDE. I CAN'T SEE OUT OF MY PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR EITHER. THE WINDSHIELD WILL CLEAR OFF IF I HAVE IT ON FULL DEFROST WITH THE AC BUTTON PRESSED EXCEPT FOR A BIG AREA HALFWAY UP TO THE TOP ON THE DRIVERS SIDE ONLY. THAT DOESN'T CLEAR EITHER. I CAN DRIVE MANY MILES AND NOTHING CHANGES TILL THE TEMP OUTSIDE GOES UP. THEY TELL ME THAT IS THE WAY IT IS THAT THEY CAN'T FIX IT AND THEY SAID IT WORKED FOR THEM SO THAT IS IT. IF YOU HAVE IT ON FULL DEFROST AT 30 BELOW, YOU FREEZE YOUR TOES AND FINGERS. SOME THING SHOULD BE DONE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS IN AN ACCIDENT. I LOVE THE CAR OTHERWISE. *TR

THIS IS OUR 2ND 2014 KIA FORTE EX WITH NAVIGATION EVERYTHING TOP OF THE LINE... WELL THE FIRST ONE HAD A KNOCK IN THE MOTOR SO THE DEALERSHIP "EXCHANGED" IT AND THIS ONE THE SEAT TAKES ABOUT 5 MIN TO LOCK INTO PLACE AFTER YOU ADJUST IT AND YOU HAVE TO BE DRIVING FOR IT TO LOCK IN. THERE IS A KNOCK WHEN YOU TURN THE WHEELS AND THE DEALERSHIP SAYS KIA IS WORKING TO FIX IT & TRY NOT TO DRIVE IT AS MUCH AS YOU CAN... THE FUEL TANK KEEPS LEAKING AND NEEDING TO BE REPLACED BUT THERE WORKING ON THAT TOO I'M SURE.... HAHA AFTER OUR CAR BEING IN THE SHOP FOR 36 DAYS I FINALLY WAS CALLED BY KIA AND OFFERED A SETTLEMENT UNTIL THEY CAN FIX THE ISSUES... THE SETTLEMENT WAS NOT EASY THE GIRL WHO CALLED ME WAS EXTREMELY RUDE AND EVERYTHING I HAD LOOKED UP ABOUT THE LAWS SHE DIDN'T KNOW SHE HAD TO KEEP EITHER "GOOGLING" IT OR SHE WENT TO ASK HER BOSS & THEN WOULD COME BACK OH YOUR I GUESS RIGHT... I WAS IN A THREE VEHICLE ACCIDENT AS THE THIRD CAR. I HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME AND IN TURN CAUSED THAT VEHICLE TO HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HIM. I HAD THE BRAKES PRESSED DOWN ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND STILL COULDN'T STOP IN TIME TO PREVENT IMPACT, THERE WERE NOT EVEN ANY SKID MARKS ON THE PAVEMENT. THE IMPACT WAS SO STRONG THAT MY BACK SEATS FOLDED DOWN AND THE THINGS I HAD IN MY TRUNK FLEW FORWARD AND HIT THE BACK OF THE DRIVER SEAT. I HAD GLASS BOTTLES OF DRINKS IN THE TRUNK AND THEY WERE ALL BUSTED IN THE FLOORBOARD FROM BEING THROWN THROUGH THE BACK SEAT THAT FOLDED DOWN. FIRE AND RESCUE HAD TO OPEN MY DOOR TO LET ME OUT OF THE VEHICLE BECAUSE I TRIED TO GET OUT AND COULDN'T PRY THE DOOR OPEN. TO ME THAT IS A HARD IMPACT, I WAS INJURED AND STILL SEEKING MEDICAL ATTENTION. MY CONCERN IS WITH A FRONTAL IMPACT OF SUCH FORCE, NONE OF MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED! MY ACCIDENT HAS ALREADY HAPPENED AND I AM HURT BUT I DON'T WANT THAT TO HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE. LUCKILY I WAS WEARING MY SAFETY BELT BECAUSE MY AIRBAGS CERTAINLY DIDN'T PROTECT ME. I MADE A COMPLAINT WITH KIA AND THERE REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME..."MA'AM WITH YOUR VEHICLE, YOU HAVE "SMART AIRBAGS" THEY ONLY DEPLOY IN A CATASTROPHIC EVENT." HOW CAN THE CAR TELL WHAT IS A CATASTROPHIC EVENT...MY 8 YEAR OLD COULD HAVE BEEN IN THAT BACK SEAT THAT FOLDED OR EVEN MY NEWBORN NIECE THAT I CARE FOR, THAT COULD HAVE BEEN NOT ONLY CATASTROPHIC BUT FATAL!!!
