I inherited my dad's 2003 Mercedes Benz E320 when he passed away last year. He kept the car in pristine condition. About a month ago while driving it, I noticed a strong smell of gasoline in the cabin of the vehicle. The odor is strong just after filling the tank, and then it disappears at appox. 3 quarters of a tank. This issue has been physically challenging for me, making me dizzy and giving me migraines. I'm also very concerned about the safety issues relating to gasoline fumes inside the car... My understanding is that this is a common issue for the said Mercedes Benz model and year. It is a dangerous parts defect that is unacceptable.

After fueling up, a smell of gas occurs. Slight gas puddle forms under the car after every fuel up. Drops gas gauge down and after that no more smell of fuel but still slight puddle of gas after leaving the car parked. Noticed it about a month ago and it seems to get worse. Doesn't seem safe knowing the car is leaking fuel.

WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS ON THE HIGHWAY THE CAR LOST POWER. PULLED OVER FOR VISUAL INSPECTION, NOTICED THE FUEL WAS LEAKING RAPIDLY. IMMEDIATELY SHUT OFF THE CAR. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO LOCAL MERCEDES BENZ DEALERSHIP. DEALER VERIFIED THE TANK WAS LEAKING.

WHEN MY WINDOWS ARE DOWN AND IM DRIVING YOU CAN SMELL GASOLINE VERY STRONGLY IN THE CAR. EVEN WORSE IN THE BACK SEAT AREA. ESPECIALLY IF MY GAS TANK IS FILLED. IM CONSTANTLY GETTING A WARNING TO CHECK THE GAS CAP AND THE GAS LIGHT GOES OFF FLASHING THEN MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL GO ON.

FUEL SMELL COMING FROM WITHIN CABIN FIRST NOTICED OCTOBER 2018 TOLD IT WAS PROBABLY WAS CHARCOAL FILTER NOT A BIG DEAL WHEN FILLING TANK WITH FUEL IT SOMETIMES HAPPENS, AND WAS RECENTLY NOTICED WHEN TIRES WHERE CHANGED THAT FUEL SMELL AND LOOKED LIKE LEAKAGE OF GAS. WAS TOLD THIS WAS A KNOWN DEFECT AND AS THE SECOND OWNER WAS NEVER INFORMED IN ANY CAPACITY. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN WHICH IN MY OPINION IF THEY KNEW, ALL OWNERS SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED ASAP. I AM NOT SURE WHAT I CAN DO, OR CAN BE DONE, BUT THIS IS CERTAINLY NOT ACCEPTABLE IF IT IS A KNOWN DEFECT. THIS WAS NOTICED WHEN VEHICLE WAS NOT MOVING. I WANT THE AMERICAN PUBLIC TO KNOW, WE MAY HAVE OTHERS OUT THEIR WITH THE SAME PROBLEM NOT KNOWING THIS. WHAT A SHAME FOR MERCEDES IF THEY HAVE NOT CONTACTED PEOPLE. MB USA is not honoring Recall 2005110001 for 25 years per NHTSA Bulletin. The Mercedes Benz Representative said that the recall is closed for a 2003 car, but which should not be closed until 2028 for my car. The Mercedes Benz Representative agreed that she does see the car matches the 2003-2006 E class with chassis of A336226 falling between A0- and A7- for the recall. The Mercedes Benz Representative gave no explanation as to why the 25 year recall has closed prior to 2031. The faulty SBC has caused numerous problems. If the recall is not honored, I plan to file a lawsuit against Mercedes. A formal complaint is being filed with the NHTSA for MB USA's lack of adhering to the recall for the full 25 years.

VEHICLE STARTED FLASHING A RED WARNING SIGN WHILE DRIVING AT WHICH POINT I LOST ALL BRAKES IT WAS ONLY RIGHT THAT I USED A RUNAWAY RAMP AT THE MOMENT OTHERWISE THE CAR WOULD HAVE NOT STOPPED. I TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND THEN UPON RESTARTING EVERYTHING BRAKE RELATED DISAPPEARED. ALSO THIS HAS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES ALREADY.

After a visual inspection of the rear seats, the contact observed gasoline pooling underneath the rear seats. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to TSB: 2008-020001. MY VEHICLE STARTED PUTTERING AND FINALLY SHUT OFF. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE NEAREST MERCEDES BENZ SHOP LOCATED ON INDEPENDENCE DRIVE IN CHARLOTTE. AFTER THE DIAGNOSTIC, I WAS TOLD THAT THE FUEL PUMP WAS BAD. I INFORMED THE SERVICE ADVISOR COLTON AND THE SERVICE MANAGER TODD ABOUT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE COMPONENTS OF THE FUEL SYSTEM. I WAS DENIED WARRANTY COVERAGE BECAUSE THEY STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK HAD TO BE CRACKED BEFORE THEY WOULD HONOR THE WARRANTY. TO MY UNDERSTANDING IF THE ITEM IS A PART OF THE FUEL SYSTEM COMPONENTS, IT SHOULD BE COVERED FOR THE WARRANTY. THEY REFUSED TO SATISFY THE WARRANTY AND I ENDED UP NOT AUTHORIZING THE REPAIRS. NOW BECAUSE MERCEDES WILL NOT REPAIR THE COVERED PART, I HAVE TO TAKE IT TO ANOTHER REPAIR SHOP TO HAVE IT FIXED. THIS JANUARY OF 2015 I RECEIVED A WARRANTY EXTENSION ADDENDUM STATING " SPECIFICALLY, THE WARRANTY ON THE FUEL TANK, FUEL FILTER/SENDER, FUEL PUMP, AND RELATED GASKETS ( COLLECTIVELY THE "COVERED FUEL TANK COMPONENTS") FOR GASOLINE-FUELED, NON PZEV CERTIFIED MODEL YEAR 2003-2009 E CLASS AND 2006-2011CLS- CLASS VEHICLES WILL BE EXTENDED FROM ORIGINAL 4 YEAR/ 50,000 MILES (WHICHEVER OCCURS FIRST) TO 15 YEARS, REGARDLESS OF MILEAGE." TODAY I LEFT MY 2003 E320 FOR SERVICE TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM. DEALERSHIP CALLED AND SAID THE FUEL TANK SENDING UNIT WAS LEAKING BUT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY EXTENSION ADDENDUM! Everytime I get in my car, the battery is dead! I have purchased several brand new batteries, and the same thing! I purchased a new battery, and my wife and I went on vacation, and as we was headed back home, we began to smell a real foul oder! We stop to the gas station, and looked everywhere, but didn't see anything! As we continue to drive, and turned in the drive way the battery light came on! I opened the trunk, and there was the foul smell, and the battery was so hot it could have caught fire, luckily we was home

MY 2003 E320 SEDAN BATTERIES IS CONSTANTLY DRAINING AFTER THE VEHICLE SITS FOR 6 OR MORE HOURS. I HAVE INCURRED COSTLY EXPENSES IN REPLACING BOTH THE REAR LOAD & FRONT SMALL AUXILIARY BATTERIES TO INCLUDE LABOR COST AT AN AUTHORIZED MERCEDES REPAIR SHOP. OCTOBER 2019 I TRIED TO ACCESS THE CAR USING THE KEY KNOB, HOWEVER NO POWER TO ACCESS THE VEHICLE NOR ACCESS THE TRUNK. NOVEMBER 2019 THE VEHICLE FOG, INTERIOR & REAR TAIL LIGHTS BEGAN TO FLASH ON & OFF AND THE SECURITY ALARM BEGIN TO SOUND WITH A WEAK LIKE BATTERY SOUND WITHOUT THE USE OF THE SMART KEY, DECEMBER 2019 THE SAME OCCURRENCES BATTERIES WERE DRAIN, NO POWER & RECENTLY FEBRUARY 2019 SAME OCCURRENCES NO POWER TO VEHICLE. I HAVE PURCHASED NEW BATTERIES & A NEW ALTERNATOR & STILL THE SAME ISSUES OF BATTERY DRAINING. MERCEDES BENZ STATED THAT A FAILURE OF THIS PART SHOULD NOT HAVE SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF COMPLETELY BUT RATHER SHOULD HAVE RESULTED IN THE VEHICLE NOT BEING ABLE TO BE RESTARTED ONCE IT WAS STOPPED IN ORDINARY OPERATION. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS!

THE ORIGINAL RADIATOR FOR THE 2003 MERCEDES BENZ E500 LEAKS COOLANT INTO THE TRANSMISSION AND TORQUE CONVERTER, CAUSING THE CAR TO JERK AND JUMP. THE COOLANT IN THE TRANSMISSION ACTS AS AN CONTAINMENT AND RUINS THE TRANSMISSION AND TORQUE CONVERTER, WHICH LATER WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED, ALONG WITH THE RADIATOR. THESE THREE MAJOR PART INCLUDING GASKETS, HOSES, AND LABOR ARE EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM. I PURCHASED A 2003 MERCEDES BENZ E500 WHICH WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR MY TRANSMISSION STARTED LOSING POWER ON THE EXPRESSWAY AND MAKING A LOUD ROAR FROM THE BACK OF THE CAR. THE CAR THEN STARTED STUTTERING WHILE AT 60MPH WHICH POSED A DANGER TO MYSELF , MY FAMILY, AND CARS AROUND ME. THIS PROBLEM ALMOST CAUSED CARS BEHIND ME TO HIT ME BECAUSE OF THE SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK MY CAR TO THE SHOP AND IT TURNED OUT THAT GLYCOL LEAKED INTO MY TRANSMISSION DUE TO A FAULTY VALEO RADIATOR IN MY 2003 MERCEDES E500. I WAS TOLD THE TRANS WAS COMPLETELY SHOT AND HAD TO PAY OVER 10K FOR THE TRANS, TORQUE CONVERTER, AND THE RADIATOR. THE MECHANIC ALSO SHOWED ME A TECH BULLETIN P-B-27.55/50F AND THAT THIS PROBLEM IS WIDESPREAD. WHEN I BROUGHT THIS TO THE ATTENTION OF THE MERCEDES DEALER THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME DOUBLE OF WHAT MY MECHANIC CHARGE ME AND I COULDN'T AFFORD IT. THEY DID NOT OFFER TO FIX THE PROBLEM FOR FREE EVEN THOUGH THEIR RADIATOR WAS FAULTY. MY CAR ONLY HAD 30,000 MILES AT THE TIME OF THE TRANS GOING OUT ON ME. MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING THE CAR WITH MY 10 YEAR OLD SON ON I276 AT 55MPH WHEN THE BRAKES FAILED. LUCKILY ENOUGH THERE WAS NO CAR IN FRONT OF THEM AND SINCE THEY WERE ON A HIGHWAY HE HAD TIME TO STOP WITHOUT CAUSING AN ACCIDENT OR CRUSHING. WE TOWED THE CAR TO THE MERCEDES DEALERSHIP AND WE WERE TOLD THAT SBC FAILED AND WE HAVE TO PAY $2000. HAD THE CAR TOWED TO MERCEDES BENZ OF FORT WASHINGTON IN FORT WASHINGTON, PA. THE DEALER EXAMINED THE VEHICLE AND SAID THE SBC UNIT HAS TO BE REPLACED AND THE COST IS $2000. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND IT APPEARS THAT I WAS NOT THE ONLY CUSTOMER WITH THIS MAJOR SAFETY PROBLEM. THIS UNIT FAILED ON MANY CUSTOMERS AND APPARENTLY THERE WAS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY OFFERED UP TO 10 YEARS. I HAVE TO SAY THAT I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT MERCEDES NEVER NOTIFIED ITS CUSTOMERS OF THIS SITUATION. TOOK MY CAR INTO DEALERSHIP TO GET CHECKED FOR A KNOWN ISSUE IN WHICH THE RADIATOR WOULD MIX THE ENGINE COOLANT WITH TRANSMISSION FLUID. DEALER CONFIRMED I HAD THE FAULTY RADIATOR AND THAT THE TRANSMISSION FLUID HAD GLYCOL IN IT. I WAS TOLD THEY CAN NOT COVER THE REPAIRS NOR REPLACE THE PARTS AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY ALL COSTS EVEN THOUGH IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE. SO I DECIDED TO FLUSH THE FLUID OUT AND INSTALL A SEPARATE COOLER TO AVOID FLUID FROM GOING THROUGH RADIATOR IN HOPES I COULD SAVE THE TRANSMISSION FROM BEING DAMAGED BY THE CONTAMINATED FLUID SINCE I DID NOT HAVE THE FUNDS TO REPLACE THE COMPONENTS. I WAS DRIVING ON A BUSY EXPRESSWAY ALONG WITH FOUR OTHER COWORKERS WHEN MY CAR'S ENGINE OVER REVVED AND THE CAR BEGAN TO LOSE MOMENTUM. NEARLY GETTING REAR ENDED BY VEHICLES BEHIND ME, I GOT OUT OF THE LANE AND MERGED ONTO THE SHOULDER. THINKING THE CAR MAY OF HAD SOME ELECTRIC FAULT IN THE TRANSMISSION WHICH MIGHT OF CAUSED THE ISSUE, I BEGAN TO CAUTIOUSLY DRIVE THE CAR BACK TO WORK WHEN IT DID THE SAME THING AGAIN. NEXT DAY I WAS TAKING VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP WHEN IT COMPLETELY STOPPED MOVING. THE ENGINE WOULD RUN PROPERLY, BUT WHEN PLACED IN DRIVE OR REVERSE, THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. TOLD DEALERSHIP MY ISSUE AND WAS TOLD THAT THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE COSTS EVEN THOUGH IT WAS CAUSED BY EQUIPMENT FAILURE, SO I PAID ALL THE COST OUT OF POCKET IN ORDER TO GET VEHICLE BACK UP AND RUNNING SINCE IT IS MY ONLY CAR. MADE IT HOME AND GOOGLED THIS PROBLEM AND FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS VEHICLE DUE TO A LEAK IN THE COOLANT SYSTEM THAT SOMEHOW GETS INTO THE TRANSMISSION,CAUSING IT TO BECOME CONTAMINATED WHICH PRODUCES THIS FIERCE/POTENTIAL DANGEROUS STUTTER/JERKING. MY UN-DRIVABLE CAR NOW HAS TRANSMISSION FAILURE BECAUSE OF POWER LOSS WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEEDS. INABILITY TO ACCELERATE OR KEEP UP THE MINIMUM SPEED OF THE POSTED HIGHWAY SIGNS IS COMMON. I ASKED MBUSA ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND INITIALLY THEY REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM EXISTED. AFTER FINDING TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN P-B-27.55/50F DATED MARCH 24, 2006 THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THE DEFECT BUT DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE TO ME, LEAVING IT UP TO A LOCAL DEALER TO HANDLE THE MATTER. THE LOCAL DEALER WOULD NOT ASSIST ME EXCEPT PERFORMING THE $200 GLYCOL BULLETIN TEST AND DESCRIBED THE COST FOR REPAIRS. MY CAR GLYCOL CONTAMINATION TEST RESULT COMPARED TO THE CHART WAS DEEP PURPLE AS A RESULT OF THE GLYCOL AND TRANSMISSION FLUID CONTAMINATION LEVEL BEING ABOVE 400 MG/LITER WHICH IS THE WORST CASE SCENARIO OF RUSTED TRANSMISSION AND SHOWING GLYCOL CONTAMINATION STARTED MONTHS EARLIER TO THE NOTICEABLE PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR. WHEN I PICKED UP THE CAR, THE TELE-AID DID NOT WORK - MODULE REPLACED - OLD PART NOT AVAILABLE; ADJUSTING MOTOR FOR OUTSIDE MIRROR DID NOT WORK - MOTOR REPLACED - OLD PART NOT AVAILABLE. IN MAY, 2004, DASH MESSAGE SAID CONTACT DEALER. CONTACTED DEALER WHO SENT FLATBED FOR CAR. HAD CAR FOR 3 WEEKS. NO EXPLANATION OF FAILURE. FINALLY ARRANGED A RENTAL CAR FOR ME. CAR IS CURRENTLY AT DEALER FOR A/C FAILURE (DROVE 1,400 MILES WITH NO A/C!) LEAKY TRUNK (PART OF THAT TRIP WAS IN THE RAIN, AND MY LUGGAGE AND OTHER ITEMS IN THE TRUNK GOT WET) "GROANING NOISE" IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT, WHISTLING SUNROOF( WHICH HAS ALREADY BEEN REPLACED BECAUSE OF WHISTLING - OLD PART NOT AVAILABLE) WHISTLING FAN;AMBIENT LIGHTING AND WINDSHIELD WIPERS COME ON AT WILL; REAR OVERHEAD LIGHT DOES NOT WORK; CLOCK LOSES TIME. MERCEDES 2003 E320: THE PARKTRONICS IN THE CAR, ARE SET OFF BY CONSTANT RAIN OVER THE HOOD OF THE CAR, IN SPEEDS UP TO 10MPH. THE DOUBLE RED LIGHTS GO OFF AND THE PARKTRONICS WARNING BUZZERS GO OFF, WARNING THAT YOU HAVE HIT A SOLID OBJECT. I WAS DRIVING THROUGH THE PARKING LOT OF A KROGER GROCERY STORE AND MY PARKTRONICS WARNING LIGHTS AND BUZZERS WENT OFF WARNING THAT I HAD HIT SOMETHING SOLID. I TOOK THE CAR INTO PARK PLACE MERCEDES IN DALLAS TEXAS AND THEY REPLACED MY PARKTRONICS TWICE, THEN THE THIRD TIME I BROUGHT THE CAR IN FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE THEM ANYMORE, BECAUSE MERCEDES DID NOT CONSIDER THIS A DEFECT ANY LONGER, BUT THAT THEIR PARKING SENSORS WERE VERY SENSITIVE TO RAIN RUNNING OVER THE FRONT OF THE CARS HOOD. AT THE INTERCHANGE WITH US1, WHEN I STOPPED AT THE TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE ENGINE STALLED OUT AND WOULD NOT RESTART, BLOCKING TRAFFIC. A POLICEMAN ARRIVED AND CALLED FOR A TOW. AGAIN THERE WERE NO APPARENT TROUBLE LIGHTS. THE CAR WAS CARRIED TO THE RICHMOND VA DEALER, WHICH REPLACED THE AIR MASS SENSOR. THIS CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. I REPORTED THIS PROBLEM TO MERCEDES CUSTOMER CARE IN NJ. I EMPHASIZED THE SERIOUSNESS OF HAVING THE ENGINE STALL OUT, BUT THEY WERE NOT PLANNING TO PERFORM ANY NEW FIX. THEY SAID IT WAS "OPERATING AS DESIGNED", MAKING REFERENCE TO A "LIMP HOME" FEATURE THAT STALLS THE ENGINE AND WARNS THE DRIVER TO GET OFF THE ROAD. I LOOKED IN THE CAR'S MANUAL, AND THE TERM "LIMP HOME" APPEARS ONLY ONCE CONCERNING THE ENGINE. HOWEVER, THERE IS NO DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS WORKS OR WHAT THE DRIVER IS SUPPOSED TO DO. IN MY CAR, THE ENGINE DID NOT "LIMP", BUT RAN AT FULL POWER AFTER THE STALL AND RESTART. IN MY OPINION, A SENSOR FAILURE SHOULD NOT DISABLE THE ENGINE, AND ANY SERIOUS PROBLEM SHOULD BE WARNED THROUGH A BLINKING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THE PURGE VALUE FOR THE EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM, MAKES A TAPPING NOISE IN THE ENGINE AT IDLE, AS IF THE CAR IS LOW ON OIL. WHEN I TOOK THIS IN TO THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE WHAT THE TAPPING NOISE WAS, THEY EXPLAINED THAT A LOUD METAL TAPPING NOISE WAS NORMAL ON THE MERCEDES. THEY STATED THEY WOULD PUT A NEW "PURGE VALUE" IN THE CAR TO SEE IF THAT WOULD QUITE THE LOUD NOISE IN THE ENGINE. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE ARM FOR THE CRUSIE CONTROL IS TOO CLOSE TO THE TURN SIGNAL ARM. SEVERAL TIMES A DAY I FIND THAT MY HAND (ALBEIT A SMALL HAND) ACCIDENTALLY HITS THE CRUISE CONTROL LEVER INSTEAD OF THE TURN SIGNAL - ESPECIALLY WHEN SIGNALLING LEFT. THIS ACTIVATES THE CRUISE CONTROL AT A TIME WHEN YOU ARE USUALLY GETTING READY TO SLOW DOWN FOR A TURN. I UNDERSTAND THAT BRAKING WILL TURN OFF THE CRUISE AUTOMATICALLY, BUT IT IS STILL AN INCOVENIENCE AND COULD POTENTIALLY BE DANGEROUS. I CONTACTED MERCEDES BENZ AND THEY SAID THAT THE CARS ARE ALL PUT THROUGH MANY, MANY TESTS AND THIS PROBLEM DIDN'T SURFACE. A SOLUTION WOULD BE TOO SHORTEN THE LENGTH OF THE CRUISE HANDLE OR ANGLE IT MORE TOWARD THE DASH. POSSIBLY THIS WOULD ALLOW FEWER MISTAKES.

*1. The Fuel Tank and components and/or system failed or malfunctioned. *2. After filling the gas tank, the odor of strong pungent gasoline fumes fills the cabin of the and lingers for some time in the car and garage until the gasoline level goes down after being driven for a few miles. *3The car has been taken to a certified Mercedes Benz Dealership Service Center and was told that the problem was the gas tank and system/components. *4.The car was inspected by a certified Mercedes Benz Dealership Service Center Mechanic *5. There were NO warning lamps or messages on the dashboard or message center on car. The only symptoms of the problem was the strong odor of gasoline fumes after fuel fill ups.

WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS ON THE HIGHWAY ON A LONG ROAD TRIP, THERE WAS AN INCREASINGLY LARGE RATTLE WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER LOAD. EVENTUALLY THE RATTLE STOPPED. THEN WHEN I TRIED TO FILL UP THE CAR WITH GAS, IT LEAKED EVERYWHERE CAUSING A MASSIVE FIRE HAZARD. WHILE THIS WAS PUT UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR 15 YEARS BY MERCEDES BENZ, A 2003 MODEL IS OUT OF WARRANTY BY 3 YEARS. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE AS IT LEFT ME STRANDED IN RURAL MONTANA ON A ROAD TRIP (I'M FROM WA) AND POSED A MASSIVE FIRE HAZARD IN THE BLAZING HEAT OF SUMMER. I HAD TO TOW IT BACK ON A UHAUL TO PREVENT FURTHER DAMAGE TO THE CAR OR A POTENTIAL FIRE. EVEN THE MECHANICS AT A NEAR-ISH (200 MILES AWAY FROM THE MONTANA HIGHWAY I BROKE DOWN ON) WERE HESITANT TO EVEN MOVE THE CAR DUE TO FIRE HAZARD. THIS ISSUE SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR SAFETY REASONS OR BEEN GIVEN A MUCH LONGER EXTENDED WARRANTY. IN ADDITION TO THE SHAKE, NOW THE BRAKES WILL NOT LET GO WHEN I TRY PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL. THIS WOULD NORMALLY BE A SEPARATE ISSUE, BUT IF IT CREATES A SPARK NEXT TO THE FUEL ISSUE, IT COULD MEAN THAT THE CAR IS QUITE LITERALLY A BOMB IF DRIVEN. THE WHOLE INTERIOR SMELLS LIKE FUEL AS WELL. MERCEDES SEEMS TO ADMIT THERE IS A PROBLEM BY COMPLYING WITH A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST THE FUEL TANK AND ADDING THE WARRANTY BUT REFUSES TO DO A RECALL OR LONGER EXTENDED WARRANTY DUE TO GREED. THIS CAN CAUSE DANGEROUS SITUATIONS LIKE MY OWN AND EVEN WORSE ONES WHERE THE FUEL MAY IGNITE IN THE FUTURE.

MY VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING AN SRS WARNING LIGHT THAT THE DEALERSHIP, MERCEDES BENZ OF SOUTH BAY, DIAGNOSED AS BEING A PASSENGER SEAT WEIGHT SENSOR FAILURE. THEY ADVISED THAT THIS IS A COMMON FAILURE ON THESE MODELS, WHICH UPON SEARCHING THE INTERNET I BELIEVE IS THE CASE, AND QUOTED ME OVER $4,000 FOR THE REPAIR. THIS FAILURE TURNS OFF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG UNLESS THE REPAIR IS PERFORMED. MY UNDERSTANDING, HAVING PREVIOUSLY WORKING FOR ANOTHER OEM FOR 15 YEARS, WAS THAT AIRBAGS AND THEIR ASSOCIATED PARTS SHOULD LAST THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. IT APPEARS THAT THIS FAILURE IS SO COMMON WORLDWIDE THAT AFTERMARKET COMPANIES SELL "EMULATOR" KITS THAT TURN OFF THE LIGHT AND MAKE THE AIRBAG FUNCTIONAL FOR APPROXIMATELY $100. I BELIEVE THIS IS A DESIGN FAILURE OF A CRUCIAL SAFETY COMPONENT AND SHOULD REPLACED BY THE MANUFACTURER AT NO COST TO CONSUMERS.

I PUSHED THE REMOTE BUTTON ON THE KEY FOB TO UNLOCK THE CAR AND THE LEFT REAR DOOR POPPED OPEN , NOW I CANNOT CLOSE THE DOOR. THE LOCK WILL NOT CATCH TO CLOSE THE DOOR. I WAS MAKING A RIGHT TURN ONTO A CITY STREET WHEN I HEARD A CLICK/ CRACK, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIT UP, AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED. I WAS NOT ABLE TO STOP THE CAR IN TIME AND HIT A PARKED CAR. THE ENGINE DID NOT TURN OFF WHEN THIS HAPPENED. IT WASN'T A CASE OF THE POWER STEERING FAILING BECAUSE I WAS NOT ABLE TO TURN THE WHEEL AT ALL (I DO KNOW WHAT THAT FEELS LIKE). I PUT THE CAR IN PARK, TURNED OFF THE ENGINE, SURVEYED THE DAMAGE, THEN TURNED THE CAR BACK ON AND WAS ABLE TO REVERSE IT AND PARK THE CAR BEHIND THE ACCIDENT. THE STEERING WAS FINE. AFTER I COLLECTED MYSELF, I DROVE THE CAR AROUND THE BLOCK (RESIDENTIAL AREA) AND SAW THE CAR DROVE FINE, EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT I WAS JUST IN AN ACCIDENT. I ENDED UP HAVING THE CAR TOWED BECAUSE THE SERPENTINE BELT WAS RUBBING AGAINST SOMETHING, CAUSING SMOKE, AND I DIDN'T WANT THE BELT TO BREAK. I WAS SLIGHTLY INJURED IN THE CRASH. BECAUSE I WAS TRYING TO TURN THE LOCKED STEERING WHEEL, I INJURED MY RIGHT ELBOW FROM THE IMPACT. MY STOMACH MUSCLES WERE ALSO HURT, PROBABLY DUE TO THE FLEXING OF MY CORE AS I WAS TRYING TO YANK THE WHEEL BACK TO THE LEFT TO AVOID THE ACCIDENT. AS I STATED EARLIER, THESE WERE VERY MINOR INJURIES. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE MAIN REASON I'M REPORTING THIS IS BECAUSE I BOUGHT THIS CAR FOR MY SON TO DRIVE. THIS VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH SENSOTRONIC BRAKE CONTROL THAT HAS A SERVICE THRESHOLD. WHEN THIS THRESHOLD IS REACHED THE BRAKE SYSTEM DEFAULTS TO NON POWER ASSISTED HYDRAULIC MODE TO THE FRONT WHEELS ONLY. THIS OCCURS WITHOUT ANY PRIOR WARNING AND RESULTS IN INCREASED STOPPING DISTANCE. I DO BELIEVE THAT THIS ISSUE IS RELAYED IN THE MERCEDES SERVICE BULLETIN S142.46-P-0012A WHICH ADDRESSES THIS ISSUE. MERCEDES STOPPED INSTALLING THIS SYSTEM IN 2006.I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN DECEMBER OF 2007 AS A USED VEHICLE WITH APROX. 40,000 MILES. I HAVE NOT BEEN SENT ANYTHING FROM MBENZ NOTIFYING OF THIS ISSUE.VEHICLE PUT IN SHOP 4-16-20015 AT MERCEDES. DIAGNOSIS WAS FAULTY SBC PUMP SYSTEM AT A COST FOR REPAIR $2400.00. DURING INITIAL WARMUP OF VEHICLE (GENERALLY SOAKED AT AMBIENT TEMPERATURES 60F AND BELOW) A SHORT TERM (5-8 SECONDS) UNSTABLE IDLE OCCURS 20-30 SECONDS AFTER INITIAL ENGINE START AND WHILE IN A FORWARD DRIVE GEAR. THIS UNSTABLE IDLE GENERATES TORQUE VARIATIONS THAT WILL OVERCOME A BRAKE APPLY AND INCUR VEHICLE MOVEMENT. CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR - THE ENGINE SHUTS DOWN WITHOUT ANY WARNING, SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING AT SPEED. I TRIED TO RESTART IT SEVERAL TIMES, BUT TO NOT AVAIL. IT MAY RESTART AFTER THE ENGINE HAS COOLED OFF (AFTER 20-30 MINUTES) BUT THE PROBLEM REPEATS ITSELF WHEN THE ENGINE HAS BEEN RUNNING AND WARM AGAIN. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND A MALFUNCTION MESSAGE: BATTERY PROTECTION - CONVENTIONAL FUNCTIONS TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE DISPLAYS. ONCE AT THE REPAIR SHOP, THE MECHANIC KNEW WHAT THE PROBLEM MAY POSSIBLY BE EVEN BEFORE TESTING FOR THE CHECK ENGINE CODE. HE SAID HE'S SEEN THIS PROBLEM FOR QUITE SOME TIME. THE PROBLEM CODE DID COME UP WITH A BAD CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR AS HE PREDICTED. I RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM ON SEVERAL MERCEDES BENZ OWNERS? FORUM WEB SITES AND DISCOVERED NUMEROUS ENTRIES FROM OWNERS WITH THIS EXACT SAME PROBLEM, AFFECTING SEVERAL MERCEDES MODEL YEARS. I CALLED MERCEDES BENZ AND ASKED WHY A RECALL WAS NOT ISSUED FOR THIS PROBLEM AND WHAT THEY WERE DOING TO COMPENSATE OWNERS FOR THE REPAIR COST OR AT LEAST A NOTIFICATION OF THIS PROBLEM. I DID NOT RECEIVE A FAVORABLE OUTCOME BUT WAS TOLD BY THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE THAT SHE WOULD ESCALATE THE ISSUE INTERNALLY SO THAT THEY WOULD BE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. I BELIEVE THAT MERCEDES BENZ HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM FOR YEARS AND IT CONTINUES TO AFFECT MANY OWNERS. I COMPLAINED THAT THE SBC UNIT WAS THE SUBJECT OF NHTSA SAFETY RECALL 05V0133 AND TWO MBUSA RECALL CAMPAIGNS (2005070007 AND 2005110001) RESULTING IN THE EXTENSION OF THE ORIGINAL WARRANTY TO 10 YEARS WITH NO MILEAGE LIMITATION. CAR E-320 MERCEDES BENZ 2003 WITH 53404 MILES WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THIS CAR, THE VEHICLE PANEL INDICATED A TOTAL BRAKE FAILURE AND SHE HAD NO BREAKING RESPONSE FROM THE CAR AT ALL. WE KNOW THAT THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE ON THESE VEHICLES, BASED ON INFORMATION THAT I FOUND FILED WITH NHTSA. THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IS THAT THE EXACT SAME INCIDENT HAPPENED TO HER ON THIS SAME VEHICLE BACK IN JANUARY OF 2009. AT THE TIME OF THAT INCIDENT SHE WAS AT A PARKING LOT AND DRIVING VERY SLOWLY. Is MZBUSA required to report ALL vehicles that were serviced under this recall? Please , if service was completed, provide the dates(s) and place where the work was done. I cannot stress how important this is, and a timely response is VERY relevant to the Court situation about MZBUSA's contention that the SBC pump was replaced.

MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A BUSY MAJOR HIGHWAY WHEN THE HYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEM EXHIBITED THIS MESSAGE. SHORTLY PRIOR TO THIS MESSAGING, I NOTICE MY BRAKES WERE MORE HARD TO APPLY PRESSURE,. I AM GLAD I WASN'T DRIVING FAST, THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A SERIOUS TRAGEDY TO MYSELF AS WELL AS THOSE OTHERS ON THE EXPRESSWAY JUST A AS I WAS. 2. "TAKATA RECALL" EACH YEAR IT FAILS THE EMMISSION TEST THE FAILED CODE IS PO456. I HAD AN EVAP SYSTEM TEST RAN THEY SAID IT WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE PURGE VALVE, EVAL HOSE, AND THE FILLER NECK. (LEAKS). IN MY OWN WORDS, THE ENGINE COMES ON AND OFF, THE COMPUTER IS INDICATING THAT THE TRUCK IS OPEN WHEN IT IS NOT, THE SEATBELT TIGHTEN UP AND MAKES A CLICKING NOISE WHILE I'M DRIVING, AND SOMETIMES I CAN'T GET OUT OF THE CAR IT LOCKS ME INAND I HAVE TO PUSH THE UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE DASH, AND THE ALARM COMES ON WHENEVER! AS WE NORMALLY DO, I PRESSED ON THE BREAKS TO SLOW DOWN, IN CASE ONE OF THE CARS SITTING ON BOTH THE LEFT AND RIGHT, DECIDED TO ENTER ON TO BRANCH AVE. MY BRAKES FAILED - THE FOOT PEDDLE WENT COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR WHEN I WAS TRYING TO SLOW DOWN, THERE WAS LITTLE TO NO CONTROL IN THE STEERING WHEEL AND I LOOKED AT THE DASHBOARD AND IT WAS LIT UP IN RED WARNING LIGHTS , FIRST SAYING BRAKE NEED MAINTENANCE (OR SOMETHING) AT FIRST. I MANAGE TO GET THE CAR TO STEER TOWARDS THE RIGHT TO GET ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, HOPING THE ROUGH TERRAIN WOULD HELP TO SLOW THE CAR TO A STOP. BY THIS TIME THE RED WARNING LIGHTED UP DASH BOARD SAID STOP, BRAKE FAILURE OR SOMETHING. THE CAR FINALLY STOPPED AND I TURNED IF OFF. I AM 59 YEAR OLD WOMAN AND WAS ABSOLUTELY PETRIFIED - MY WHOLE BODY WAS SHAKING FROM THE FEAR THAT I WAS GOING TO WRECK ON THIS BUSY HIGHWAY. LUCKILY FOR ME THE CARS WAITING TO ENTER THE ROAD, DID NOT AND CARS ON THE HIGHWAY SLOWED DOWN AND WENT AROUND ME WHILE THE CAR WAS COASTING TOWARDS THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT TELLING ME TO GET THE BRAKES SERVICES - THEY JUST FAILED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. I CALLED MERCEDES ROADSIDE SERVICE FOR THEM TO PICK UP THE CAR. AFTER AN HOUR AND THEY HAD NOT ARRIVED, I TURNED THE CAR ON, THERE WAS NO RED LIGHT. I PRESSED THE BRAKE AND IT DIDN'T GO TO THE FLOOR BUT IT WAS SOFT AND WENT NEARLY TO THE FLOOR. I KEPT PUMPING THE BREAKS - SOMETHING I USED TO SEE MY FATHER DO - THINKING THAT WOULD BRING THE BREAKS BACK UP SO THAT I COULD AT LEAST DRIVE BACK HOME TO AWAIT SERVICE TRUCK. I LET MERCEDES SERVICE KNOW, THEN I SLOWLY DROVE BACK, SIDE ROADS, PULLING OVER TO ALLOW CARS TO PASS UNTIL GOT HOME.

VEHICLE PRESENTED WITH RED LIGHT INDICATING TO TAKE VEHICLE TO WORKSHOP IN RED. BRAKING WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT, SRS SYSTEM STALLED THE VEHICLE, EMERGENCY MODE WAS ACTIVITED,WE WERE UNABLE, AT FIRST TO TURN ON THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS IF IT WAS PARALYZED. WE FINALLY GOT THE VEHICLE TO RUN AND TURNED VEHICLE INTO MB DEALERSHIP. WE WERE INFORMED THAT THE SBC UNIT WAS IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT, WE WERE BESET WITH 1,800.00 REPAIR. THE VEHICLE IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED FOR LONGER STOPPING DISTANCES, THANKFULLY MY HUSBAND WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP. I FOUND MYSELF NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO PRESS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL FOR ADEQUATE BRAKING DISTANCE. FUEL: UPON FUELING VEHICLE, THE FUEL HANDLE WILL STOP AND IMMENSE AMOUNTS OF FUEL WILL SPURT OUT FROM FUEL TANK. THERE IS ALSO A SMELL OF GAS/FUEL IN THE CABIN AFTER FILL UP. THIS CREATES A HUGE SPILL AND NOTIFICATION TO ATTENDANT. TAKES UP A GREAT AMOUNT OF TIME TO FILL UP TANK. SURPRISINGLY WE HAVEN'T BEEN CHARGED FOR FUEL SPILLS. SRS: LIGHT ON FOR SAFETY RESPONSE SYSTEM, SHORTLY AFTER VISIT AT MB DEALERSHIP. HAVE NOT TAKEN VEHICLE TO MB DEALERSHIP FOR FEAR OF ANOTHER EXPENSIVE REPAIR.

I'M LUCKY TO BE ALIVE! I PURCHASED THIS CAR IN 2005 AND EVER SINCE I PURCHASED MY 2003 MERC. BENZ E320, IT'S BEEN A CRAZY RIDE! HERE'S A LIST OF DIFFERENT ISSUES THAT HAPPENED TO ME OVER THE COURSE OF ME OWNING THIS VEHICLE, WHICH UNFORTUNATELY I STILL DO. I WAS DRIVING WITH MY LITTLE GIRL IN TOW AND MY BRAKES WENT OUT ON ME SEVERAL TIMES, MY BATTERY DIES CONSTANTLY, I HAD AN ISSUE WHEN AFTER I PUMPED GAS YOU COULD SMELL FUEL BOTH INSIDE MY CAR & OUTSIDE OF MY CAR, I LITERALLY ONE TIME HAD FUEL POURING FROM THE BACK OF MY CAR THAT ENDED ON MY GARAGE FLOOR. (THANK GOD I DON'T SMOKE!) MY SUSPENSION IS CONSTANTLY RATTLING, I HAVE WATER THAT LEAKS ON MY FEET WHEN I DRIVE OCCASIONALLY AND SOMETIMES I HAVE HEAT IN THE WINTER AND SOMETIMES I DON'T. I CURRENTLY HAD ISSUES WITH CODE PO134, PO135 AND HAD THE O2 SENSOR CHANGED, THEN MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND NOW I HAVE CODES PO171 & PO174 THAT I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO GET FIXED BECAUSE IT COULD BE A NUMBER OF ISSUES. MY BATTERY DRAINS WHEN MY ELECTRIC SEATS ARE PLUGGED IN AND SO I HAVE TO HAVE THEM UNPLUGGED TO SAVE MY BATTERY. DID I MENTION MY BACK TIRE BLEW OUT ON INTERSTATE 95 AND I ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF MY CAR. IMMEDIATELY NOTICED THAT THE HEATER DIDN'T WORK WHEN I HAD IT REPAIRED I WAS TOLD THAT SOME VALVE OFTEN GETS STUCK ON THESE CARS THE DEALERSHIP ALWAYS RUN DIAGNOSTICS ON YOUR CAR WHETHER YOU WANT THEM TO OR UPON RUNNING THE DIAGNOSTIC I WAS ADVISED THE MY NEW USED CARD WOULD NEED ABOUT $6K IN WORK DONE FROM THE HOOD TO THE TRUNK I DECIDED TO KEEP THE CAR AND GET THE MAJOR WORK DONE IN STAGES 1ST THING I HAD DONE WAS FRONT BREAK PADS AND ROTORS ALTHOUGH I OPTED TO HAVE THE WORK COMPLETED BY AN AUTHORIZED REPAIR SHOP AND NOT THE DEALSHIP FOR OBVIOUS REASONS (COST) NOT ONCE DID THE DEALERSHIP COMPLETE RECALL REPAIR WORK OR EVEN MENTION IT TO ME THAT THERE WERE SEVERAL RECALLS AND MY CAR NEEDED TO HAVE THOSE REPAIRS COMPLETED BUT RATHER OVER CHARGED ME FOR BALL JOINTS PLUS SEVERAL OTHER THINGS THAT MORE THAN LIKELY DID NOT NEED TO BE REPAIRED. I FELT COMPLETELY TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF AND RAISED MY CONCERN ADAMANTLY TO LITTLE AVAIL. I WAS INFORMED THAT DUE TO HORRIBLE GAS MILEAGE, THE TORQUE CONVERTER OF THE TRANSMISSION IS SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED TO LOCK UP AT LOW SPEEDS, AND THIS IS THE REASON WHY THE 2003 AND 2004 E-CLASS AUTOMOBILES HAVE THIS TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. THE SERVICE MANAGER HAD ADVISED ME THAT HE KNOW OF NO FIX FROM THE FACTORY. THE DEALERSHIP BECAME FRUSTRATED WHEN I EXPRESSED MY DISPLEASURE, AND HAS NOW INFORMED ME THAT THEY WILL NO LONGER SERVICE MY BRAND NEW AUTOMOBILE. *LA *SCC THE CONSUMER STATED THE ENGINE STALLED, THE WIPER BLADES WERE NOISY. *JB

THE CAR HAS BEEN A DISAPPOINTMENTS SINCE I GOT IT IN JANUARY 28,2003. IT HAS HAD MANY PROBLEMS AND THE DEALERSHIP SAID ITS FIX. AUTOHAUS MERCEDES BENZ IN POMPANO BEACH , FLORIDA SOLD ME A CAR THAT HAS BEEN TO THE SHOP MORE THAN 10 TIMES . 1)WHIPPERS VERY LOUD AND DON'T CLEAN. 2) FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT WORK 3) TIRE SENSORS DO NOT WORK 4)STEREO SHUTS OFF AND ON 5)ALIGNMENT PROBLEM CAR PULLS TO THE RIGHT. 6)ENGINE IS VERY LOUD 7)ENGINE HESITATES. 8) SOS MALFUNCTION 9)MERCEDES BENZ PHONE DOES NOT WORK. 10) LOWJACK SYSTEM THAT THEY INSTALLED HAS NOT WORKED PROPERLY SINCE THEY PUT IT ON. WHEN THEY SOLD ME THE CAR THEY SAID THAT THEY WERE GOING TO COME OUT WITH A GPS AND A VOICE ACTIVATE KIT FOR THE MERCEDES BENZ AND NOW THEY TELL ME THAT THEY WERE NOT GOING TO MAKE IT FOR MY CAR SO I WAS LIED TOO . MY CAR HAS BEEN TO THE SHOP MORE THAN 10 TIMES AND STILL NOT FIX AND THE SERVICE MANAGER HAS LIED TO ME BECAUSE HE SAID THAT THE ITEMS ARE FIX AND TWO DAYS LATER THEY ARE BAD AGAIN . I WILL NOT RECOMMEND MERCEDES BENZ TO ANYONE AS THEY ARE NOT WHAT THEY JUST TO BE. ALSO I WILL NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE AUTOHAUS IN POMPANO BEACH , FLORIDA THEY DO NOT BELIEVE IN CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY SERVICE MANAGER JERRY ODESSY ONLY LIES TO PEOPLE AS IT DID TO ME SEVERAL TIMES AND HE IS ALSO VERY RUDE . I HAVE ALSO E-MAIL THE PRESIDENT OF AUTOHAUS AND HE HAS NEVER RESPONDED AND THE CORPORATE OFFICE IS NOT TO FAR BEHIND ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RUDENESS . DO NOT BUY MERCEDES THERE ARE A LOT OF BETTER CAR OUT THERE . IF YOU BUY A MERCEDES MAKE SURE YOU CAR WAS NOT IN A FLOOD AS I READ THAT A LOT OF THEIR CARS WERE IN A FLOOD AND THEY ARE SELLING THEM LIKE NOTHING HAPPEND. *JB

ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS MALFUNCTIONS. SERVICE DEPT ADVISED ME THAT MERCEDES IS AWARE OF THE ISSUES (PLURAL) BUT THEY HAVE YET TO REACH A 'FIX'. I HAVE HAD MY E500 FOR 7 MONTHS. I AM SUSPECTING THAT THE FIX MAY BE IMPRACTICAL AS WAS THE CASE WITH THE NAVIGATION SOFTWARE THAT COULD NOT BE INTEGRATED - FORCING MERCEDES TO BUY BACK THEIR CARS. I BELIEVE WE ARE ALL GETTING FALSE PROMISES FROM MERCEDES-BENZ ON ANY PROPOSED FIXES WITH THE ELECTRICAL BUGS TOO. *JB

MY 2003 E 320 HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 3 TIMES BECAUSE WHEN I COME TO A STOP AT TIMES IT WILL SUDDENLY SHUT OFF AND ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WILL LIGHT UP. THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT AND THE VEHICLE HAS 19,000 MILES ON IT. *PH

THE 2003 MERCEDES BENZ E320 HAS A FAULTY GATEWAY MODULE AND SOFTWARE. THIS MODULE HAS RESULTED IN PROBLEMS BEING REPORTED IN MY CAR THAT THE BRAKES, SELF RESTRAINT SYSTEM, TELEPHONE SYSTEM, AND TIRE PRESSURE HAVE FAILED. I HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING IF THE THE SAFTY SYSTEMS ARE OPERATIONAL OR NOT. AT THIS POINT I AM DRIVING A CAR THAT SAYS MY SRS SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING. I HAVE BEEN IN THE MERCEDES SHOP NO LESS THAN 4 TIMES TO HAVE THE PROBLEM REPAIRED. IT SIMPLY RE-OCCURS AFTER EACH REPAIR. FROM RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET, THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM.
