The seal that connects the fuel level sensor to the fuel tank has failed, allowing fuel to leak onto the top of the tank when it’s filled. This creates a serious risk of fire or explosion. Unfortunately, Mercedes does not offer a remedy unless you pay a prohibitively high fee.

This is a PZEV vehicle. When the car is filled over 3/4th of the way, the driver's side near the back tire starts to leak the fuel. There was no warning lights, just the smell and the leaks. It's obvious why this is a safety hazard. This was not inspected by anyone other than myself as it was quite obvious after removing the back seat and accessing the sending unit location. This started after I resolved a fuel pump issue (back in March, resolved this month) Mercedes refused to handle ($3k) and noticed on or around 9/24/24.

I filled the vehicle up with gas and it started smelling very strong of gas for the next two weeks and I discovered gas underneath the driver's rear seat... I cleaned up the gas but continued to smell strong fuel Vapors and I'm just below three quarters of a tank the 15-year warranty is over. The Mercedes dealer says that they can't do anything for free and I feel this is a safety issue that needs to be rectified before someone dies in an explosion... no warning lights showed up but it is a common problem on the E-Class due to a cracked fuel filter housing module.

The contact owns a 2008 Mercedes-Benz E350. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to start after several attempts. In addition, the engine began to sputter while idling. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic where the fuel tank sensor was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The contact also stated that while his daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled in the middle of an intersection. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to a dealer where a diagnostic test was performed; and the mechanic discovered that the fuel pump had failed and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000. The VIN was not available.

I drove a short distance and started to smell burning, and saw some smoke in the cabin. I immediately pulled over and shut down the car. I called my husband and when he arrived we discovered that my driver's seat back had burned through from the seat heater. Luckily I was not injured and the burning did not spread, I assume because I was able to stop quickly and get out.

THE DRIVER'S SEAT BACK HEATER BURNED THROUGH THE SEAT COVER. AT THE TIME OF DISCOVERY, THE VEHICLE WAS MOVING AND THERE WAS A BURNING SMELL. THERE WAS A SIMILAR ISSUE INVOLVING 2000-2007 M-CLASS, 2006-2007 R-CLASS, AND 2007 GL-CLASS MODELS WHICH WAS SETTLED IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT CALLAWAY V. MERCEDES BENZ. TO MY KNOWLEDGE, THERE HAVE BEEN NO RECALLS OR ACKNOWLEDGMENT BY MERCEDES BENZ FOR ANY VEHICLES WITH THE SIMILAR DEFECT/HAZARD SUBSEQUENT TO 2007. MY VEHICLE IS A 2008 MERCEDES E-CLASS. I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE FOR 2.5 YEARS. SINCE MAY OF 2013 I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THREE WHEELS (RIMS). IT HAS GOTTEN TO THE POINT WHERE THEY ARE SO HARD TO LOCATE I HAVE HAD TO PURCHASE AFTER MARKET WHEELS. ON TWO OCCASIONS I HAD LOSS OF TIRE PRESSURE ON FRONT WHEELS. EXAMINATION SHOWED THE ALLOY WHEELS TO BE CRACKED. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWO TIMES IN APPROXIMATELY 90 DAYS. I HAVE NOT HIT ANY POT HOLES. SOME TYPICAL ROAD BUMPS MAYBE BUT NO DEEP HOLES. I'VE HAD MANY VEHICLES SINCE 1958 BUT NEVER HAD WHEELS CRACKING. RESEARCH HAS SHOWN QUITE A BIT OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME LOW PROFILE TIRES USED ON THIS VEHICLE ARE ALSO HAVING CRACKED WHEELS AND LOSS OF TIRE PRESSURE. 2008 V6 Engine Cam Shaft will worn out and check engine light comes on can unable to pass smog for registration renewal. The cost to replace the worn Engine Cam Shaft is about $4-$6K. It is not acceptable to the manufacture to design the vehicle can can have the major part worn out about 100K mile with good maintain of services and regular Service A-D and oil change.

The contact owns a 2008 Mercedes-Benz E350. The contact stated that while approaching a stop, she heard a roaring sound coming from the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle then stalled without warning. The vehicle failed to restart. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the rear differential had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 71,888.

The vehicle will intermittently go into limp mode with a max speed of 45mph. At a stop vehicle will not accelerate FWD unless transmission is put into park and the vehicle turned off and then re-started. Professional diagnosis suggests the transmission needs to be replaced and this is common for cars with 100k miles or more. Only a Mercedes Authorized Technician with a real time connection to a Mercedes Server can properly perform this task. This is a sub par design that creates a safety hazard. The repair procedure coupled with the frequency of this serious failure makes this vehicle a Lemon. Mercedes Benz Is Totally Responsible.

REAR DIFFERENTIAL NOISE DIAGNOSED AS FAILING PINION GEAR. THIS CAR HAS BEEN DRIVEN CAREFULLY. THE MILAGE IS 63,000. REAR DIFFERENTIAL PROBLEMS APPEAR IN VARIOUS FORUMS AND MAY OCCUR MORE COMMONLY THAN IS CURRENTLY KNOWN BY THE NHTSA. SIMILAR/SAME MAY ALSO BE OCCURRING IN CHRYSLER PRODUCTS. The contact owns a 2008 Mercedes-Benz E350. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked the contact heard a hissing noise coming from the vehicle. The contact noticed the rear suspension on the driver's side was deflated sitting very low to the ground. The contact stated when they entered the vehicle to turn it on they received an error message on the display console stating the vehicle too low to drive. A few weeks prior to the failure the contact had the vehicle repaired by a local dealer for the rear suspension toe link and is concerned the failure that occurred on the vehicle is related to that repair. The vehicle was not inspected or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximate 155,000.

TOOK VEHICLE IN TO HAVE POWER STEERING SERVICED AND ALSO ASKED FOR AN INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE. UPON INSPECTION, TECH NOTICED THAT REAR SUBFRAME WAS RUSTED BADLY. TECH FOUND THAT MOUNT BOSSES WERE ALMOST DETACHED AND THAT THE SUBFRAME WAS RUSTED THROUGH AT THE TRAILING ARM LOCATING POINTS. WHEN THIS ISSUE WAS FOUND THE VEHICLE WAS UP ON A LIFT. TECH ADVISED THAT THE CAR WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AS IT WAS. MORE INFORMATION CAN BE PROVIDED IF NECESSARY.

IN THE PAST 10 MONTHS THE CAR IN QUESTION HAS EXPEREINCED ONE BROKEN SUSPENSION COIL SPRING, AND A SEPERATE SUSPENSION COIL SPRING FRACTURE. I CONTACTED MERCEDES ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND EXPRESSED MY CONCERN ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THESE CORE SUSPENSION COMPONENTS. THE RESPONSE I RECEIVED AMOUNTED TO THEM BEING SORRY THAT "THINGS FAIL". JUST PURCHASED THIS 2008 E550 WITH 100K MILES ON IT. IT WAS INSPECTED AND SAID TO BE A GREAT MAINTAINED VEHICLE WITH NO ISSUES. I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AND A RED INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON TELLING ME STOP CAR TOO LOW. CAR WAS IN SPORT MODE WITH THE VEHICLE RAISED BUTTON INDICATOR LIGHT ON. I DROVE BACK TO MY HOUSE AND PARKED THE VEHICLE, AS IT SAT FOR AN APPROXIMATE 1 HOUR I NOTICED IT DROP SIGNIFICANTLY. I TURNED THE VEHICLE ON TOO SEE IF IT WOULD RAISE AGAIN AND THE COMPRESSOR WAS STILL WORKING BUT NO MOVEMENT WAS HAPPENING. I LOOKED IT UP ONLINE AND THERE HAS BEEN NUMEROUS ACCOUNTS OF THESE VEHICLES HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. I JUST SPENT 20K ON A VEHICLE THAT LASTED ME 7 DAYS. FRONT TIRES WORE OUT ON THE INSIDE PREMATURELY. DEALER ( KEYES MERC.) WAS UNABLE TO ALIGN THE FRONT SUSPENSION. TURNED ON THE HEAT AND THE DRIVER'S HEATED SEAT (IT'S 30 DEGREES AND SNOWING HERE IN MN). I TAKE-OFF AND NOT A MINUTE LATER I SMELL WHAT SEEMS TO BE AN ELECTRICAL FIRE/SMOKE. THERE WAS LIKELY EVEN A WHIFF OF SMOKE PRESENT. THANKFULLY I IMMEDIATELY FIGURED IT WAS UNFORTUNATELY COMING FROM MY CAR AND THAT THE HEATED SEAT WAS LIKELY THE CULPRIT. 2008 MercedesE350 (W211) Driver’s seat heater, ~11:48am Location: Lidl Parking Lot, 2017 St. Joseph’s Dr., Bowie/Upper Marlboro, MD While I was sitting in the driver’s seat with my back fully against it, the seat heater burned through the leather on the left side of the seat. The cabin immediately filled with smoke. The burning stopped only after I turned off the seat‑heater button. I was inside the vehicle during the failure, and the situation created a direct fire hazard; the seat could have ignited, and I could have caught fire. I don’t know if the passenger seat heater is also affected, so passengers cannot safely use their seat warmer. No warning lamps, messages, or symptoms pre failure. Evidence Available: Video/photo of the aftermath (burned seat left‑side damage), the vehicle and damaged seat are available for inspection. Smoke in video/photo. Has the Problem Been Reproduced or Confirmed?: I’ve not attempted to reproduce the problem for safety reasons, and it has not yet been confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. However, publicly available information shows Mercedes previously settled a $54 million class action for the same seat‑heater defect in model years prior to 2008. My 2008 model was not included despite experiencing the same dangerous failure. Mercedes is aware this is a known issue.Has the Vehicle Been Inspected?: A dealership inspection at Mercedes‑Benz of Alexandria scheduled 12/23/23 at 11:00 a.m. Warning Lamps or Prior Symptoms: None. Safety Risk Summary: This defect created immediate danger to my safety. The trunk safety release inside the trunk will not open the trunk. It is an electrical switch and not a cable pull release. If you get in the trunk and the battery is low, you cannot get out. There is not a passage between the rear seat and the trunk. There is not a manual release for the trunk. The only way to get inside is cutting through the trunk lid or deck.

SINCE JANUARY 23RD 2016, WHEN I MADE THE PURCHASE, THE NAVIGATION DVD HAS BEEN WORKING FINE - EXCEPT FOR YESTERDAY, WHEN I WANTED TO GO TO AN OFFICE BUILDING IN HIGHLANDS RANCH, COLORADO. I SMELLED STRONG GAS SMELL A FEW DAYS AGO. I TOOK MY CAR TO MERCEDES ARROWHEAD LOCATED IN ARIZONA YESTERDAY. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE PROBLEM WOULD BE COVERED UNDER A 15 YEAR WARRANTY (FUEL TANK HAD STARTED LEAKING). TODAY THEY CALLED ME AND SAID THAT THE LEAK HAD SATURATED TO MY BACK SEATS AND THAT IT WASN'T COVERED BECAUSE I HAD TAKEN TOO LONG TO CALL THEM AND THAT'S WHY THE BACK SEATS WERE SATURATED WITH GAS (I DIDN'T KNOW THAT MY SEATS WERE SATURATED WITH GAS UNTIL I STARTED TO SMELL IT THROUGH MY VENTS WHILE AC WAS BLOWING). NOW, I AM BEING ASKED TO PAY ALMOST $500 TO REPLACE THE PADS AND DEAFENING MATERIAL AS THEY TOLD ME IT WASN'T COVERED BY WARRANTY EVEN THOUGH IT WAS CAUSED BY A DEFECTIVE FUEL TANK. AT THIS POINT I'M NOT SURE IF THERE HAVE BEEN ANY HEALTH RELATED ISSUES FOR MYSELF AND MY 2 KIDS WHO NORMALLY SIT IN THE BACK OF THE CAR WHO HAS BEEN INHALING THE GAS FUMES FOR AN UNKNOWN LENGTH OF TIME.

My car displayed all of the issues listed below for the Electrical system recall. The fuel gague went "blank", other gagues acting irradical, the check engine light stay on, etc. My car make and model fall under this recall but have been excluded. I had to pay out of pocket $4678.50 to replace the entire fuel tank due to this and the Manufacture (Mercedes Benz) is refusing to reimburse me. (1) THE FUEL GAUGE READINGS MAY BE INCORRECT; (2) A STUCK FUEL-LEVEL SENSOR MAY NOT BE DISPLAYED IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER; (3) THE OBD SYSTEM MAY CAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO ILLUMINATE INCORRECTLY; AND, (4) THE SPEEDOMETER MAY BE OUT OF TOLERANCE. IN THE EVENT OF A VEHICLE CRASH, THE ELECTRICAL FUEL PUMP MAY NOT RECEIVE A CRASH SIGNAL THAT IS REQUIRED FOR THE FUEL PUMP TO DISCONNECT AND PREVENT FUTURE FUEL DELIVERY AS DESIGNED.

The contact owns a 2008 Mercedes-Benz E350. The contact stated that after parking the vehicle overnight, the vehicle failed to start the following morning. The contact was able to jumpstart the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to Combels Customs - Collision Repair, Auto Body Shop, where the alternator and the battery were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that the speedometer, the clock, and the infotainment system were inoperable. Additionally, the contact stated while driving at various speeds and turning, there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from the rear suspension, and the vehicle was swaying. The contact stated that after opening the sunroof, the sunroof failed to close as needed. The contact was able to close the sunroof manually with assistance. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 08V303000 (Electrical System), 24V874000 (Visibility) and 12V264000 (Suspension). The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact the VIN was not included in the recalls. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 116,000.

On [XXX] I was driving and the vehicles stalled in the middle of the street, I couldn’t start it back. I managed to contact AAA and had the vehicle towed to my home because it around 6pm and auto repair shops were closed. Next morning I had AAA towed the vehicle to a local auto repair shop and they told me that fuel pump failed. It would have been very dangerous if we were driving on the freeway, not to mention I had my 85 year old mother in the passenger seat. Please help me as I am sure what I need to do now. The contact owns a 2008 Mercedes-Benz E350. The contact stated while driving at various speeds on a bumpy road surface, the sunroof shuddered. The contact also stated that the sunroof failed to open. Additionally, the contact stated while driving 40-45 MPH and depressing the brake pedal, the pedal went to the floorboard, and the vehicle failed to respond. The brake fluid level message was displayed. The contact stated that she swerved to the left lane to avoid crashing into another vehicle. The contact then made a left turn and continually depressed the brake pedal until the vehicle stopped. The contact then drove 20-25 MPH to the residence. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the brake line was corroded, causing the brake fluid to leak. The mechanic added brake fluid to the vehicle; however, the failure recurred while the contact was driving back to the residence. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The failure mileage was approximately 106,000.

In the fall of 2021 the car started to received errors related to the ABS control unit that failed preventing 1) antilock braking, control of ESP (limiting poor handling), and cruise control. At the time of the failure, the car only had 31,552 miles and was properly maintained. MB has extended a warranty for several models and years...but even though my 2008 E-Class is not included in the warranty extension, several models (thru 2012) had their warranty extended for 25 years. I have not been able to get a answer why the E-Class after 2006 was excluded. The symptoms and parts diagnosed match the warranty 100%.

In my car we have repaired the roof several times, again now the roof is stuck in open position. WITH THE BRAKE NOT WORKING AND THE CAR ACCELERATING VERY FAST THE CAR BECAME OUT OF CONTROL UNTIL IT CRASHED WITH A LARGE ROCK /BOULDER WHEN IT STOPPED. THERE WAS EXTENSIVE DAMAGE THE THE WHOLE FRONT HALF OF THE CAR. THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED IN. I SUSTAINED A SIGNIFICANT BRUISES OF MY BREAST BONE AND ADJOINING RIBS. I AM STILL IN PAIN. THIS SAME EXACT MALFUNCTION WITH THIS SAME CAR AS NOTED ABOVE OCCURRED IN 2013. I PAID EXTRA FOR MB TO HAVE AN ENGINEER EXAMINE THE CAR BUT I WAS TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG. "TAKATA RECALL" . I GOT MY MERCEDES 2008 FULLY BY MERCEDES SERVICE CENTER ON 12MAY16. FOLLOWING IS THE REPORT OF THE SERVICE DONE. " 140405 1.7C PERFORMED SHORT TEST. PERFORMED BACK TO NEW SPECIAL RESET SERVICE LIGHT INSPECTED INTERIOR COMPONENTS AND SEAT BELTS FOR PROPER FUNCTION, CHECKED EXTERIOR LIGHTS FOR PROPER FUNCTION, CLEANED AREA OF WIND DEFLECTOR AND CHECKED WIPER BLADES. EVACUATED ENGINE OIL AND REPLACED ENGINE OIL FILTER, TOPPED OFF ALL FLUIDS AND INSPECTED AREA OF ENGINE FOR DAMGES OR LEAKS, LUBRICATE DOOR HINGES, LIFTED VEHICLE INTO AIR AND FRONT TIRES MEASURED AT 7MM, REARS AT 7MM REMOVED WHEELS AND BALANCED ALL 4, TORQUED TO 150NM. FRONT BRAKES AT 12MM, REARS AT 10MM. SET FRONT TIRES TO 28PSI, REARS TO 33PSI AND SPARE TO 63 PSI. INSPECTED FOR LEAKS OR DAMAGES UNDER VEHICLE. TEST BATTERY AT 12.61VOLTS. TEST DROVE VEHICLE TO VERIFY PROPER REPAIRS " AFTER THE SERVICE WAS DONE ALMOST A MONTH BACK, WHILE I WAS TAKING OUT MY VEHICLE OUT OF THE GARAGE, THE BRAKES FAILED AND EMERGENCY BRAKES WERE USED. I SUSPECT SERIOUS MANUFACTURING PROBLEM WITH MY CAR.

2006 MERCEDES BENZ E350W. CONSUMER STATES PROBLEM WITH LICENSE PLATE LIGHTS NOT WORKING AND THIRD BRAKE LIGHT STOPPED AS WELL. CONSUMER WAS NOTIFIED BY DEALER THAT THIS HAPPENS TO VEHICLES WITH AUTOMATIC TRUNK OPENING AND CLOSING THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THE ELECTRIC CABLE FROM THE ENGINE TO THE TRUNK COULD FAIL FOR UNKNOWN REASONS.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 MERCEDES BENZ E350. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE IN THE RAIN, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED TO OPERATE. ALSO, THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT WHILE THE PASSENGER SEAT WAS OCCUPIED, THE MESSAGE INDICATING THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG SYSTEM WAS DEACTIVATED ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 107,000.

MY VEHICLE WAS HIT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE THE IMPACT WAS TO THE SIDE FRONT QUARTER PANEL (FROM THE LEFT TIRE TO THE FRONT LEFT BUMPER). AS A RESULT OF THE IMPACT THE DRIVERS SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAG AND THE DRIVERS SIDE PASSENGER DOOR AIRBAG DEPLOYED (NO PASSENGER). HOWEVER, THE DRIVERS DOOR AND THE DRIVERS SEAT BOOSTER AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. RESULTING IN INJURY TO MY LEFT KNEE, LEFT HIP, LEFT RIBS, LEFT SHOULDER (SURGERY PENDING), LATERAL WHIPLASH AND CONCUSSION. I HAVE FILED A CLAIM WITH MBNA. IF THE PASSENGER DRIVER SIDE DOOR AIR BAG DEPLOYED WITH NO PASSENGER THEN THE DRIVERS DOOR AIRBAG MUST HAVE MALFUNCTIONED. THE ACCIDENT TOOK PLACE IN WEST LOS ANGELES AT THE INTERSECTION OF MANCHESTER AVE AND EMERSON. POLICE AND PARAMEDICS WERE CALLED AND I WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE LOCAL HOSPITAL. REFERENCE NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: PE12001. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED IN DECEMBER 2012. ONE DAY AFTER FILLING UP WITH FUEL I PARKED THE CAR IN MY GARAGE. THE NEXT DAY I CAME OUT TO MY GARAGE AND THERE WAS A STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE. WHEN I GOT INSIDE OF MY CAR THE SMELL GOT MUCH STRONGER AND IT WAS UNBEARABLE. I COULD NOT FIND ANY LEAKS INSIDE OR OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. I HAD TO DRIVE TO WORK AND THIS WAS THE ONLY CAR AVAILABLE. THIS WAS IN THE DEAD OF WINTER AND I HAD TO DRIVE WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN BECAUSE THE GAS SMELL AND FUMES WERE UNBEARABLE. I HAD A TERRIBLE HEADACHE FOR THE REST OF THE DAY. I LEFT MY CAR WITH THE WINDOWS ROLLED DOWN TO HELP AIR IT OUT. WHEN I RETURNED HOME I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND FOUND OUT THIS IS A FAR TOO COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE W211 CHASSIS MERCEDES BENZ. PER THE INFORMATION ONLINE I WAS INSTRUCTED TO REMOVE MY REAR PASSENGER SEAT AND CHECK THE FUEL SENDING UNITS UNDERNEATH THE SEATS. SURE ENOUGH WHEN I REMOVED THE COVER OFF THE DRIVERS SIDE FUEL SENDING UNIT THERE WAS A POOL OF GASOLINE! I CLEANED UP ALL OF THE GASOLINE AND LET IT DRY OUT. FROM THIS POINT ON I HAVE NOT FILLED UP MY GAS TANK MORE THAN 3/4 JUST TO KEEP THIS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN. FUEL POOLING INSIDE OF THE CABIN IS DANGEROUS AND UNHEALTHY. MERCEDES BENZ DENIES THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM AND WILL NOT COVER THE COST OF REPLACING/FIXING THE DEFECTIVE FUEL SENDING UNITS. THERE ARE HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF OTHERS THAT HAVE THIS ISSUE. THE ELECTRONIC KEYLESS-GO SYSTEM INTERMITTENTLY DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THAT THE KEY IS PRESENT. THE ISSUE WAS FIRST NOTICED IN 2008 AND BROUGHT TO THE DEALERS ATTENTION WITHIN MONTHS OF PURCHASE WHEN THE REAR TAILGATE WOULD NOT CLOSE. REPEATED TRIPS TO THE DEALER TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE DID NOT CORRECT THE ISSUE. THE LATCHES, THE SWITCHES, AND THE BATTERIES IN THE KEYS HAVE ALL BEEN REPLACED BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. IN MARCH 2013 THE KEYLESS-GO SYSTEM STARTED INDICATING "NO KEY WAS DETECTED" WHEN THE CAR WAS IN MOTION. ON MARCH 5, 2013 THE DASH WARNING SYSTEM INDICATED THE "NO KEY DETECTED" (ALTHOUGH THE KEY WAS IN THE CAR) IN FREEWAY STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. WHEN THE CAR CAME TO A FULL STOP DUE TO TRAFFIC, THE CAR SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, WITH THE TRANSMISSION IN DRIVE, IN TRAFFIC LANES. THE CAR WOULD NOT START AGAIN UNTIL THE KEY WAS RETRIEVED FROM MY POCKET, AND PUT INTO THE KEYHOLE. THE CAR WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, AND THEY REPLACED THE ANTENNA BOOSTER (AFTER 4 DAYS OF DIAGNOSTICS). ONE WEEK AFTER THE MOST RECENT REPAIR, THE CAR (WITH THE NEW KEYLESS-GO ANTENNA BOOSTER) AGAIN INDICATED NO KEY PRESENT WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY SPEEDS. *TR

THE CAR STARTED STALLING IN JERK MOTIONS AND STOPPED. IT HAPPENED COUPLE TIMES AND USUALLY HAPPENS AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS OR TRAFFIC JAM PLACES WHERE SPEED IS BELOW 20K. I WAS AFRAID THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED CARS BEHIND HIT ME. LATER AFTER COMPLETELY STOP OF THE ENGINE, I GOT A ENGINE CHECK LIGHT AND WHEN STARTING DRIVING , THE CAR SHOW LOT OF RPM BUT WOULD NOT DISPLACE/MOVE MUCH. THE CAR HAS 45K MILES AND CURRENTLY WITH THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT.
