P052E code. my car is only have 18455 mileage.

The vehicle is getting stuck in parking and can not shift out of park. The issue first happened at the dealership when looking into an auxillary battery issue which has since been resolved. After over 30 minutes of trying to resolved the dealer was able to get the vehicle off the lift and switch the gear back into drive. Since then two days later the batteries were replaced and the same issue happen again (stuck in park) and now I see a transmission light on as well. I am not sure if the dealership noticed this when they had the issue in the shop. There was a previous transmission recall on the vehicle, which Mercedes said was previously addressed. My concern is that this can happen while driving which would be an extreme safety risks to myself and others. I don't believe I had any gear shift repairs since I owned the vehicle and the recall for my specific VIN may have been missed or not fully addressed. As of now I am unable to operate the vehicle and would like a recall reissued to resolve the problem. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

PCV regulator valve failure at69,000 miles on my 2017 Mercedes E300.. I understand this is common before 100,000 miles with the four cylinder turbo, I feel there should be a recall and be replace at Mercedes dealers cost. (to replace cost is around $2,000 about 7 hours labor I was told)

Fault code p052E71, the crankcase ventilation valve is faulty. The actuator is blocked. Second time having this issue.

I am writing in regards to a constant issue that a great percentage of people including myself, are experiencing with the engine within the 2017 Mercedes E300. The cam adjusters are easily going bad or are malfunctioning causing the timing in the motor to be defected which makes the car stall and shut off even while driving. Giving that this is happening to a great amount of people with this particular vehicle across the US, we feel that mercedes benz should take some responsibility in fixing this issue and not just post bulletins on the problem, cause its a safety issue and it costs people alot of money for a defect of this sort.

The Air bag light just came on when I turned the car on I had it checked by a mechanic and by an electrician. The code is B000113 The Squib For The Driver Airbag (Stage 1) Has A Malfunction. There Is An Open Circuit. They checked the clock spring it’s plugged in and even tried using a new air bag but they believe the clock spring is broken.

THIS IS A COMPLAINT ABOUT THE LACK OF RESPONSE BY MERCEDES BENZ IN REPLACING THE DEFECTIVE TAKATA PASSENGER AIRBAG. MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT MERCEDES BENZ HAS ADDRESSED ONLY 35% OF RECALLED MODELS AS OPPOSED TO HONDA WHO HAS ALREADY RESPONDED TO 85% OF THE RECALLED MODELS, REPLACING THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS IN QUESTION. I CALLED THE DAYTONA MERCEDES BENZ DEALER WHEN I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE IN JANUARY 2019 REQUESTING THAT THE DEFECTIVE PASSENGER AIRBAG BE REPLACED. THEY REPLIED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE AND WOULD NOTIFY ME WHEN IT WOULD BE AVAILABLE. AS OF TWO DAYS AGO, OCTOBER 14, 2020 I HAD NOT HEARD FROM THE DEALER OR FROM MERCEDES BENZ. SINCE THEN I HAVE FOUND DOCUMENTATION AS TO THE DANGER OF THIS AIRBAG AND HOW IT HAS KILLED OR INJURED HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE. ARE WE EXPECTED TO DRIVE THIS CAR UNDER THESE CONDITIONS? Very strong gas smell coming from car especially in cool weather temperatures. The smell disappears when the car runs for a while but it’s terrible on cold starts. High or low pressure fuel line is the cause of it. Smell would disappear before reaching shops for diagnosis. Many other owners of same exact model experiences this as well.

Strong gas fumes smell from vehicle when parked. Issue starts around 50k miles. No lights on dash or anything. Multiple people in forums online experience the same issue around the same mileage. Some say it's a leak from fuel lines to the fuel pump.

Vehicle stalled while on the highway on [XXX]. There are open recalls for the fuel pump and components for my vehicle make and model, but not MY vehicle. My VIN doesn’t show active recalls. There was a smell of gasoline in and outside the car when the car was idling. Also, a smell of gasoline in the garage around the parked car. Also a smell of gasoline after starting the car, that went away after driving. I called the service department. They gave me an appointment one week later. I have no complaints about the service dept. When the car was repaired several hours later, the report stated "found seep at fuel hose to pump", and then, "replaced upper fuel hose to high pressure fuel pump". They told me it was no charge because they knew about this problem happening in their vehicles and had extended the warranty for it. I was/am very concerned because(1.) if I had been in an accident, could have more easily been a fire? (2.) Mercedes knew about this and to my knowledge have not let customers know, (3) I kept up with all maintenance/service visits and I was never told to be aware of this possibility, (4) when reported by me, there was no procedure in place to prioritize scheduling this repair. I may be wrong in my analysis and do not want to cause anyone any trouble. I just think if one car fire can be avoided that is important. If my thinking is incorrect, I apologize sincerely for my reaction to this situation.

I was driving on a highway. All of the sudden sunroof glass explored and shattered. There was no rock chip or any cracks on the sunroof it happen instantly.

While driving the car on the beltway, the car unexpectedly and suddenly lost drive power. I pushed on the gas pedal and the car did move forward in a jerky motion. A minute or two later, the car again suddenly lost drive power. Again, I pushed on the gas pedal and the car jerked forward. After, these two episodes above, the car behaved normally for the rest of my 90 drive.

I've owned this vehicle for a few years and don't use it that often. I purchased it as a certified so I thought everything had been checked out. However, not too long ago i took my wife and my son who was home from college out to dinner. When we left and started back to the car, my son was ahead of us and didn't think when he lifted the door handle. The alarm came on and I was still quite some distance from the car. That didn't seem right so when we got home, I walked quite a distance from the locked car and had him try it again. Again the door came open when he lifted the handle and the alarm came on. After resetting it, I locked it again and this time had him try all handles. They all locked except the rear (passenger) door on the driver's side. That convinced me that something was wrong. I took it to the dealer, the same place I purchased it from three years ago and they said the door lock was bad and it would cost me $800 to fix it. I thought that was a little steep and told them it was probably like that when i got it. That didn't mean anything to them. I am thinking of trading the car so I don't want to spend more money on it so I told them to hold off. I was searching for that problem on the Internet and I ran across a recall notice that identifies that same problem on the same door in a number of other model Mercedes, and I thought, that seems like a coincidence. What are the chances of that? The same manufacturer, the same year, the same problem on the same door. Only the model is different. Can someone check to see if there were any problems recorded for the E300 on bulletin 17V816000? It was on Mercedes recall 2018010009 I have not checked to see if the door locks when the doors auto lock above 10 mph because I didn't want a chance for an accident.

I was driving down the interstate when the panoramic sunroof suddenly shattered. Luckily my shade was closed but it is leaving me with a costly repair bill. I was not driving near any other vehicles, had not gone under an overpass, nor did a rock hit my roof. How could this happen and how can this be resolved? Who do I contact?

IN OUR MERCEDES THE HVAC SYSTEM HAS A DEFECT WHERE IT DOESN'T PROPERLY VENTILATE & GROWS MOLD THAT SMELLS UP THE CAR. THERE HAS BEEN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT ABOUT THIS EXACT PROBLEM AND IN THE LAWSUIT THEY STATE THAT NO AMOUNT OF REPAIRS CAN FIX IT. WE HAVE TAKEN OUR CAR TO THE MERCEDES DEALERSHIP COUNTLESS TIMES, THEY SAID THEY FIXED IT. WE WERE SENT HOME WITH A CAR THAT HAD SOMETHING SPRAYED IN THE VENTS & SMELLED HORRIBLE & GAVE ME A HORRIBLE HEADACHE THE WHOLE DRIVE HOME. THEN THE MOLD SMELL CAME BACK A FEW DAYS LATER ANY WAY. FOR ALMOST A FULL YEAR THEY HAVE BEEN AVOIDING US, THE CAR IS A LEASE & WE JUST WANT A CAR THAT ACTUALLY WORKS PROPERLY & DOESN'T CAUSE HEALTH PROBLEMS WITH THE MOLDY SMELL. THEY WON'T TAKE THE CAR BACK AND TRADE IT IN FOR SOMETHING THAT DOESN'T HAVE ALL OF THESE PROBLEMS. WE HAVE HAD TO TAKE IT IN FOR MULTIPLE REPAIRS AND THEY EVEN REPLACED THE FULL ENGINE BECAUSE OF SOME SYSTEM FAILURE IT HAD. THEY WON'T CALL US BACK WHEN THEY SAY WILL, WE HAVE SPOKEN TO MANAGERS, WE EVEN HAD CORPORATE INVOLVED TRYING TO GET THEM TO CALL US BACK & THEY EVEN GAVE US A $2,000 CREDIT FOR THE TROUBLES BUT IT DOESN'T MATTER BECAUSE MERCEDES BENZ OF PLANO WON'T TAKE IT BACK. While getting in to start my vehicle I got a message code on my screen saying Steering Malfunction, Increased Physical Effort. I contacted Mercedes USA and was told they had a recall on my vehicle which is a 2017 E300 Mercedes Benz. The recall effected vehicles made from July 29,2016 - February 14-2017. My vehicle was within this range being as though it was produced in 08/16. My car only has around 20k miles, basically a new vehicle inside and out. Even though my vin # is not showing as being part of this recall, I'm having the exact same issue and would like my vin# to be included. Thanks kindly.

Crankcase ventilation system has failed. Spending $1700 because Mercedes won’t fix it because it’s a known issue and requires a lot of work. They left my car sitting in their parking lot for a week. I have the screen shots to prove it.

The automatic breaking assist is malfunctioning most of the time it just gives me a warning on the dash that it is limited a few times it has bumped the brakes briefly like it was sensing something in front of the car the perimeter sensors are malfunctioning as well like it’s sensing something all around the car very close then those sensors completely shut off and don’t work again until the car is shut off and started again

A TECHNICIAN WAS SENT FROM THE MANUFACTURER WHO INDICATED THAT THE ACTIVE BRAKING ASSIST DRIVING ASSISTANCE PACKAGE DETECTED AN OBSTACLE AND WAS ENGAGING WHEN THERE WAS NO OBSTACLE. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN JANUARY 2020. AT FIRST, THE FUEL FILLER DOOR WOULD NOT STAY CLOSED ONCE I OPENED IT TO PUMP GAS. EVERY TIME I WOULD CLOSE IT, IT WOULD POP BACK OPEN. When using Map apps through CarPlay, I’ve noticed two consistent problems: Inaccurate Vehicle Speed: The carplay speedometor does not match the the actual speedometer of the vehicle, which seems always 1.6 times higher than the actual(seems to be the metric confusion from mph to kmh). GPS Drift: The location shown on the map is frequently ahead of my actual position, which causes navigation directions (especially turns and exits) to be slightly mistimed. However, when the speedometer is correct, the GPS drift issue would disappear automatically. So I assume that these two issues are correlated. These issues can be confusing and potentially unsafe while driving. I’ve tested other navigation apps on CarPlay and found they do exhibit the same behavior, so I suspect the issue may be general to Mercedes E300 and probably other vehicles. I did a bit of research and found it to be a common issue of Mercedes E300 2017. I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding serious and repeated issues with my 2017 Mercedes-Benz E300, purchased and serviced exclusively by authorized Mercedes-Benz dealerships. 1. Repeated OEM Run-Flat Tire Failures Within the past two years, I have been forced to replace nine OEM run-flat tires, including:    •   3 replacements at Mercedes-Benz of Tysons Corner, VA    •   2 replacements at Goodyear Tires, Cattlemen Rd., Sarasota, FL    •   4 additional replacements at certified service centers These failures occur under normal driving conditions, often without visible punctures or road hazards, and at safe speeds. Each tire replacement costs approximately $550, plus towing, diagnostic fees, and rental car costs. The financial and safety burdens are substantial, and this level of tire failure is not normal for any vehicle—particularly a low-mileage, luxury sedan. 2. Electrical/Dashboard Recording Malfunction My dashboard service history fails to record service visits, even when performed at Mercedes-Benz dealerships. This is deeply concerning as it compromises vehicle resale value, warranty tracking, and transparency of maintenance records. Despite multiple visits and attempts by service centers, the issue persists without resolution. 3. Financial Impact and Brand Reputation The total cost of repeated tire replacements and unresolved electrical issues has reached several thousand dollars, despite my vehicle having relatively low mileage and receiving all recommended service at authorized dealers. This experience is completely inconsistent with the quality and reliability promised by the Mercedes-Benz brand. I am requesting the following:    •   Full investigation into the defect rate of OEM run-flat tires on the 2017 E-Class models    •   Immediate inspection and repair of the dashboard/electrical recording issue at no cost to me    •   Reimbursement for tire-related costs and associated expenses incurred due to repeated failures.

A warning saying Front Right Malfunction Service Required. I took my vehicle to a mercedes dealership to have my vehicle inspected. I was told that the Airbag seat cushion/weight sensing control unit all needed to be repaired/fixed. I have an extended warranty but this was not covered. I was told my Airbag might not be deployed if I was involved in an accident and someone was in my front passenger seat. "No one should ride in the front passenger seat until this situation is taken care of." I feel strongly that this should have been covered, plus it should've been a recall on this. It's a real safety issue!!! This need to be on the recall list for all mercedes or other vehicles with this particular issue.

It came back on suddenly while driving on the highway but after the car was turned off and restarted, the instrument panel has remained black. This is a huge safety issue as there is no warning light indicators, merging lanes does not signal if another car is present, among many other concerns. The vehicle has been inspected by mechanic. There was no warning indicators that instrument panel would go black suddenly. It happened in February 2025.

The contact owns a 2017 Mercedes-Benz E300. The contact stated that while at a complete stop and releasing the brake pedal, the Eco Mode system failed to engage, and the engine failed to restart. The contact stated that upon depressing the Push to Start button, the vehicle restarted. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the battery was replaced; however, the failure progressively worsened. The contact stated that while at a complete stop with Eco Mode activated, the vehicle would only restart after pressing the Push to Start button several times. The contact used a vehicle scanner and was able to retrieve diagnostic trouble codes related to the Starting Current Limiter. The contact referenced TSB Number: 2017020021 and NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V114000 (Electrical System, Engine and Engine Cooling). Additionally, the contact stated that the steering wheel had seized in an incorrect position and could not be readjusted. The contact related the failure to TSB Number: 2017020018. The dealer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

The contact owns a 2017 Mercedes-Benz E300. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact stated that the check engine warning light illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that when the gear shifter was shifted into reverse, there was an abnormally loud sound coming from the transmission. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle and the vehicle had self-corrected the issue. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with solenoid failure in the valve body. The contact was informed that the solenoid needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.

The car is running poorly. Smell of fumes inside the car. Not drive able due to risk of engine damage including fires and exposure to dangerous fumes. Part is on back order and that is not a guarantee that the part will not fail again after fixed. Many people report continual replacement of the part. Positive Crankcase Ventilation Regulator Valve Performance: The valve for crankcase ventilation has a malfunction. Crankcase ventilation actuator is blocked .

Pulling in the parking spot , looking to my right not noticing light pole on the left , car sensor bumped the pole in the perfect spot to deploy all of the drivers airbags . No warning of front collision , no breaks emergency were activated , seatbelt did not tighten threw me against the wheel : suffered , lacerations , broken forearm requiring surgery . Slight scratch on the bumper not even a dent in the front bumper

The entire driver instrument panel screen went blank, after going blank and coming back on a few times while driving. This is EXTREMELY dangerous. Now, the driver cannot see the speed, odo, fuel gauge, indicators or anything at all. I hope you please investigate and initiate a campaign and get this resolved from Mercedes.

Engine failure due to piston crack. Seems like it is a common issue for mercedes models with this specific engine. A lot of people have their engine needing to be replaced at very low miles such as 10k miles 15k miles. Vehicle was always been serviced on time. Now I need a new engine. Manufacturer needs to take responsibility of this engine defect

The car lurches forward upon accelerating. Other times the car lags when accelerating after slowing for a dip or speed bump. This has caused me to almost be hit from behind on multiple occasions. My car has been in the shop multiple times since I bought it.

Safety Issue. The Chrome on the lever to make the seat move forward to access the back seat has sharp razor blade ridges. It has cut my hand open multiple times as well as my wife and a friend. A lot of blood, this is a serious issue. When I brought my car to the Mercedes Service center the agent told me this is a known problem and he too has cut his hand open on customers cars. This is not from wear and tear, this lever is used in frequently, I see a lot of complaints on the blogs too. Mercedes will not fix it. The Part is only $270 but they want $650 to install it.

There are three main issues: As the weather got cold here in NJ, whenever the car is started in the morning, there is a strong fuel smell inside the cabin. Also there is a lot of fumes that smell gasoline. I think it is safety issue. The auto braking does not seem to operate right. I do not see any error message, but it had never tried to avoid a collision when I have tried other cars that would have normally applied the brakes in those situations. The garage door opening function does not work as soon as the ignition is turned off. This is an electrical issue in my view.

ADAPTIVE HIGH BEAM WAS NOT WORKING - UPON INITIAL ACTIVATION OF THE HIGH BEAM THE CAR WOULD PROVIDE AN ERROR THAT THE CAMERA WAS BLOCKED AND IT WOULD NOT WORK. THE DEALER INVESTIGATED AND IT APPEARS A PIECE OF TRIM FROM INSTALLATION WHEN NEW WAS LEFT IN THE CAMERA AND IT WAS NOT INSTALLED PROPERLY. THIS IS AN ISSUE IF YOU SUDDENLY NEEDED THE HIGH BEAMS ON AND THE CAR MAKES YOU PROCESS THE ERROR FIRST. THIS COULD IMPACT ANY DRIVER AIDS USING THE MULTIFUNCTION CAMERA.

AT AROUND 2.15 PM CST, I WAS DRIVING MY MERCEDES WESTBOUND ON I-694 TOWARDS MINNEAPOLIS AT ROUGHLY 70 MPH WHEN SUDDENLY MY E300 STALLED AND BY THE TIME I COULD FIGURE WHAT WAS WRONG, I LOST ALL POWER IN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE MERCEDES BRAKE ASSIST TRIGGERED A HARD BRAKE AND MY CAR STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE LANE ON THE FREEWAY. THE CAR BEHIND ME NEARLY MISSED ME AND AT THIS POINT EVERY LIGHT IN THE DASHBOARD LIT UP (I HAVE ATTACHED THE PICTURE BELOW). I TRIED HITTING ON THE IGNITION MULTIPLE TIMES BUT GOT NO RESPONSE. AT THIS POINT, I DECIDED NOT TO SIT IN THE CAR SINCE IT WAS TOO DANGEROUS WITH FAST ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND IT WAS ONLY GOING TO BE A MATTER OF TIME THAT SOMEONE WOULD REAR END ME. I STEPPED OUT OF MY CAR AND WHILE MULTIPLE CARS WERE APPROACHING ME AT HIGH SPEED FROM BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT LANES I FOUND A VERY SMALL WINDOW OF TIME (2-3 SECONDS) TO SPRINT FROM THE MIDDLE LANE OF I-694 TO THE SHOULDER. MY WORRY WAS STILL FAR FROM OVER AS MY CAR WAS STILL SITTING IN MIDDLE OF THE INTERSTATE AND NOW I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF OTHER FOLKS WHO WERE TRAVELING IN MY DIRECTION. I SAW 12 TO 15 CARS ALMOST REAR END MY CAR. WHILE THIS WAS HAPPENING, I REALIZED MY PHONE WAS DEAD AND I WAS UNABLE TO CALL 911. I CONTINUALLY WAVED AT THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC TO ALERT THEM OF MY CAR AND REQUESTED THEM TO CALL 911. ABOUT 7 TO 9 MINUTES LATER, THE STATE HIGHWAY PATROL SHOWED UP AND BLOCKED TRAFFIC TO ASSIST ME WITH MOVING MY CAR TO THE SHOULDER. THESE 7 TO 9 MINUTES WERE THE MOST TRAUMATIC I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. I FELT HELPLESS, ANXIOUS, AND EXTREMELY STRESSED OUT.

ON SEPT. 10, 2020 WHILE DRIVING ON THE WESTBOUND LONG ISLAND EXPRESSWAY, NEAR EXIT 19,IN AN AFTERNOON RAINSTORM, MY 3 YEAR OLD MB E300 WAS FLOODED THROUGH THE REAR VIEW MIRROR MOUNT AND THE COLUMN ON THE DRIVERS' SIDE, SEPARATING THE WINDSHIELD AND DOOR. WATER CASCADED FROM THESE AREAS AND FLOODED THE FLOOR. ALL ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS ON THE FLOOR, UNDER THE FRONT SEATS, WERE SHORTED OUT. THIS BROUGHT THE CAR TO A COMPLETE AND SUDDEN STANDSTILL IN TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY. THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO RUN BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT DRIVE OR MOVE, POTENTIALLY PUTTING MY LIFE IN JEOPARDY. THE SHIFT LEVER WOULD NOT PUT THE CAR INTO DRIVE, REVERSE OR NEUTRAL. THE CAR NEEDED A TOW ON A DOLLY OFF THE HIGHWAY AND IT CONTINUED TO RUN FOR HOURS. THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD NOT TURN OFF AND THE WINDOWS COULD NOT BE SHUT. JUST ABOUT EVERY WARNING LIGHT IN EXISTENCE WAS ON IN THE DASHBOARD. THE ENGINE WAS FINALLY SHUT DOWN, AFTER OVER 4 HOURS, WHEN THE CAR ARRIVED AT RALLYE MERCEDES BENZ IN ROSLYN, NY. THIS SUDDEN STOP, IN A RUNNING CAR, ON A LIMITED ACCESS HIGHWAY COULD OF BEEN DEADLY. THE CAR HAD RECENTLY BEEN SERVICED AT RALLYE MOTORS.

I STOPPED FOR A RED LIGHT, I SAW A POP UP ON THE DASHBOARD THAT READ 'BRAKE ASSIST DISENGAGED'. AT THAT POINT THE CAR SHUT ITSELF OFF. I TRIED TO RESTART WITH NO SUCCESS, IT WOULDN'T EVEN TRY TO TURN OVER. AFTER SITTING IN TRAFFIC FOR ABOUT THREE MINUTES UNABLE TO RESTART THE CAR, I JUST KEPT HITTING THE START / STOP BUTTON AND IT FINALLY TURNED OVER AND STARTED. I REPORTED THIS INCIDENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD WORK ON THE CAR IF IT HAPPENED AGAIN! IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN IT COULD RESULT IN A MUCH WORSE OUTCOME. COMBINED WITH THE CO-LOCATED BODY ROOF SUPPORT BEAM BEING VERY LARGE THE DRIVER IS THEREFORE GREATLY IMPACTED BY THE COMBINED REDUCTION IN VISABILITY IN THAT ARC OF VISION WHILE TURNING LEFT. I'VE LEASED IN SUCCESSION 11 M/B SEDANS AND HAVE NEVER BEEN FACED WITH THIS PROBLEM. I'M 5'8", ATHLETIC, WELL AWARE OF ERGONOMICS, I'M A PE - SAFETY ENGINEER AND REALLY ANNOYED AND CONCERNED WITH THIS BIG BLIND SPOT AREA. DESPITE NUMEROUS FOLLOWUPS WITH BOTH MB AND THE DEALER, NEITHER MB OR THE MB DEALER CAN TELL ME WHEN THE PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE TO CORRECT THIS SERIOUS SAFETY PROBLEM. PLEASE HELP BEFORE MY WIFE OR I OR OTHER PERSONS ARE INJURED OR WORSE. THE MB NOTICE STATES THAT THE AIRBAG MAY DEPLOY DUE TO INSUFFICIENT ELECTRICAL GROUNDING, AN ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE AND A BROKEN STEERING MODULE CLOCK SPRING, CAUSING INJURY AND RISK OF A CRASH.

FUEL ODORS WERE PROMINENT. AFTER RESTARTING CAR, SAFELY MADE IT TO THE DEALER WHO COULD NOT DUPLICATE/REPRODUCE ISSUE BUT PERFORMED 'RESET'. ERROR MESSAGES APPEARED AGAIN 03/19/18. 2ND TRIP TO DEALER UNDERWAY. DEALER OFFERED TO PICK UP CAR FOR ME UNDERSTANDING MY EXPERIENCE JUST A WEEK PRIOR.

THE CAR CAUGHT ON FIRE AFTER IT BEING IN SERVICE AT THE DEALERSHIP. THE CAR WAS SENT TO THE CAR DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES BECAUSE THE AUTO START WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THE CAR WOULD JUST STOP AND COULD NOT TURN BACK ON SO I HAD TO GET IT TOWED 3 TIMES...... AFTER THE LAST TIME IT CAUGHT ON FIRE WITH THE PASSENGER INSIDE THE CAR..... PASSENGER IS OK DID NOT GET HURT BUT IT WAS A VERY TRAUMATIZING EXPERIENCE. THE CAR IS NOW A TOTAL LOSS AND I'M STILL WAITING ON THE DEALERSHIP TO INVESTIGATE THE FIRE AND TO PAY FOR THE CAR.

I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT AHEAD AROUND 50 MPH ON A HIGHWAY ON A RAINY DAY, WITH NO ONE IMMEDIATELY IN FRONT OF ME WHEN I HEAR A LOUD NOISE THAT STARTLED ME. I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT HAD HAPPENED UNTIL I HEARD WIND NOISE FROM OUTSIDE AND REALIZED THE SUNROOF HAD SHATTERED. ONCE I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY PULL OVER, I REALIZED THAT THE THERE WAS A HUGE HOLE IN MY SUNROOF AND IT SEEMED TO HAVE ORIGINATE FROM INSIDE, AS THE GLASS WAS PUSHED OUTWARD. WITH NO CARS IN FRONT OF ME, DRIVING ON A STRETCH OF HIGHWAY WITH NO OVERPASS, I SUSPECT THAT THE GLASS OR CAR HAD A DEFECT AND SHATTERED ON ITS OWN. IT WAS A SCARY INCIDENT THAT COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE. FORTUNATELY, NO ONE WAS INJURED. THE CAUSE FOR THE INCIDENT IS UNKNOWN SINCE THERE WERE NO ROCKS OR OTHER FOREIGN OBJECT THAT WAS NEAR THAT COULD HAVE SPECIFICALLY HIT THE SUNROOF WITH DOING NO OTHER DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. *TR
