Every right hand turn, I hear a light metallic ‘tap’ on the rear, inside fender well…. I’ve been told by an independent auto mechanic, that it’s the ‘rear coil springs’ that are making the noise. There is No Recall for this issue or Rear Struts. I was told by a Subaru Service Manager….. No recall for either.. Has your Organization heard anything, on the contrary? Thank you… (*Just an annoying noise!)

Rear suspension is garbage, is rusted and broken and seized to the vehicle. The spring has fallen off the strut. Did not know what the weird noise was, but apparently it is the rear suspension. Cannot use the vehicle until repaired, was not notified of the brake sensor recall, and this part should be recalled as well. I want a reimbursement for my expenses to repair this faulty suspension

The contact owns a 2015 Subaru Forester. The contact stated that while pulling out of the driveway, he heard an abnormal grinding sound coming from the front end of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the driver’s side wheel bearing had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the passenger’s side wheel bearing needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted while driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the rear passenger’s side and rear driver’s side wheel bearings needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the rear wheel bearings were replaced; however, the failure reoccurred. The independent mechanic replaced the wheel bearings for a second time. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

Getting an SRS Airbag system needs to be checked. Took the 2015 Subaru Forester to Williams Subaru in Lansing MI and they stated the code B1760 for the occupant detection system Mat was determined. The seat has not been wet and nothing spilled on it and was also determined dry by the repair specialist at time of service. They were able to reset sensor and did a test drive. Less than a week later when a passenger was in seat the warning SRS Airbag needs to be checked is back on. They stated if this happens then part cost will be approx $1000 not including service/repair (approx total $1700) They also state this part is on backorder. I have Concern for previous recall completed in 2019 for the passenger seat sensor matt harness. Is this a continuation of a problem that should be recalled with the sensor harness. Service states passenger front cushion frame and assembly needs replaced.

My passenger and rear airbags are not working due to a failure in this part: CUSHION AY OCPANTRH 64139SG002. I have been waiting for the part for around 10 months. My safety is put at risk as my airbags are not working and Subaru has not provided a solution while we are waiting for this part. I have asked for a rental car and they refused. It has been confirmed by multiple dealerships. The vehicle has been inspected by two licensed Subaru dealerships. There is a warning light on my dash and there has been since it failed.

I am reporting a recurring safety defect in my 2015 Subaru Forester (VIN: [XXX] ) that directly relates to Recall WUM-98 / NHTSA Recall 19V-701 (Occupant Detection System wiring harness). Original Recall (2019–2020): The Occupant Detection System (ODS) failed, disabling the passenger airbag. Subaru performed the recall remedy at that time. Reoccurrence (August 2025): The exact same defect reappeared. The SRS airbag warning illuminated and the passenger airbag was disabled while my wife was seated in the passenger seat. Subaru of Lancaster County (PA) initially reported no error, but when I retrieved the car, the warning illuminated immediately. Repair: On August 28, 2025, the dealer replaced the ODS wiring harness at my expense ($440.73). Since then, the issue has not reappeared. Concern: This is the same safety defect already subject to Recall WUM-98. I believe the original recall remedy failed to permanently correct the defect, leaving owners vulnerable to reoccurrence and forcing them to pay out-of-pocket for a known recall-related safety failure. I request NHTSA’s review to determine whether Subaru’s recall remedy is adequate and to ensure owners are not unfairly charged for repeat repairs of the same defect. I own a 2015 Subaru Forester that was involved in the NHTSA recall ID 19V-701 - Subaru safety recall WUM-98 in 2020. My VIN is [XXX] and my dealer is Lancaster County Subaru in Lancaster, PA. For about four months in the end of 2019 until February of 2020 we were unable to use the passenger seat due to the air bag problem which was intermittent. This required either my wife or I to ride in the back. We could correct this error on a restart by moving the yellow ODS wire harness under the seat and restarting the car. But our dealer and Subaru of America could not assure us that the air bag would deploy properly if we were in an accident because the system only does a system check when first starting the car, not while driving. Two weeks ago, about [XXX] my airbag issue has returned, again it's intermittent. I opened a case with Subaru of America, Case # [XXX] and they say there is no further recall for this issue. This is the same issue that was resolved by the NHTSA recall ID 19V-70. When it faults an orange SRS image appears on the screen then it shows an orange "i" on the top part of the center screen along with an orange image of the airbag error in the tachometer area and shows the airbag system is off. Once we aren't using the front passenger seat because of the safety concern about air bag not deploying properly if we were in an accident, because the system only does a system check when first starting the car, not while driving. Retailer failed VSI due to a defective cracked catalytic converter under warranty. Part is still in use because retailer refuses to service vehicle forcing me to operate my unsafe vehicle endangering myself and family including my then [XXX] son. Dealer confirmed defect and warranty coverage yet still refuses to address the issue. The vehicle has become notably louder as a result of the exhaust leak. Oil consumption issue starting within the first 3 years of owning the vehicle. Oil light comes on generally after driving 2,000 miles or less from the last oil change or oil fill up, but prior to the light turning on there are acceleration issues. Vehicle bucks and lunges when accelerating. Lunging seems to occur after vehicle seems to loose power to accelerate and then lunges forward shuddering as power returns. These issue worsen after oil light has come on. Vehicle feels very unsafe when trying to merge if acceleration is needed. Also almost hit from behind when car seems to lose power when trying to accelerate after stopping for a red light. Vehicle has been serviced repeatedly at dealership and oil consumption issues documented. Vehicle’s make/model with known oil consumption issues, but this vehicles VIN has not been included in recalls.

The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed engine and that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was sold to the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact that the repair would not be covered under warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 59,000.

After driving for about 15 minutes, I was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of 2 hilly and curvy roads with poor visibility. When I stepped on the accelerator to go, all of the lights on my dash lit up and the car died. I tried several times to restart the car and it wouldn't start. We managed to get the car pushed into someone's yard and had it towed to my mechanic. When my mechanic tried to start it the next day, it started right up. In looking at the codes, it showed a code for an air flow meter sensor, so they replaced that. I got the car back 2 days later. Drove for about 20 minutes, parked my car in my driveway, and when I went to restart it about 30 minutes later the same thing happened. The lights on the dash lit up and the car died. After waiting about another 30 minutes I was able to start the car, and moved it out of the way so it could be towed. Since I live in a very hilly area with 2 lane curvy roads, it's just not safe for me to drive it anywhere with the possibility of it stopping again. The car started up for the tow truck driver, and again for my mechanic. This time there was no error code when my mechanic checked.

The ignition key kept getting stuck in the ignition. Subaru acknowledged a defect in the shifter plate and parking range switch. They replaced it on 8/30/25 under service bulletin 16-12-18R but the dealer charged me $584.94 and Subaru North America refused to reimburse, stating that they had extended the warranty period to 2022, and therefore I was not covered for repair. However, they acknowledged that the original parts had failed for certain customers and that they had better parts available IF the original parts failed before the extended warranty period lapsed in 2022. They should have issued a recall and replaced the original parts. I was unable to remove the keys and could not secure and lock my car. I was also concerned that the steering wheel would lock up while driving.

An off market part from API snapped after just 10 months and 7000 miles of driving on gentle paved roads. It was the lower control arm bolt. (2703-535960) Would have caused a very dangerous situation if happened at speed! We got lucky but this was a very dangerous part to break.

After replacing the valve body (part of cvt transmission). The car was released to me. Immediately upon leaving the dealership, the car kept jolting and shuddering, but no maintenance lights were lit on the dashboard. Upon returning it to the dealership, we were notified that the whole transmission would need to be replaced. Subaru is aware of the faulty transmission as they increased the cvt transmission warranty for approx 2010-2017 forester/outback/impreza/etc. cars to 10yr/ 100,000 miles. Upon further review, several other Subaru owners have expressed their transmissions needing to be replaced around 110,000-120,000 miles, most after just replacing the valve body. It appears Subaru knew the transmission was about to die, but they encouraged replacing just the valve body causing me to invest $2,200 knowing it would not fix the actual problem.

The horn stopped working. I have yet to determine exact fix. Subaru forums suggest that it may be the clock spring, a relay, the horn itself, or a fuse.

In the parking lot of my condo/home I was slowly approaching and driving in to my regular assigned parking space. As I applied the brakes preparing to stop, the car suddenly and without warning quickly accelerated and crashed into the building causing extensive damage to the building and the vehicle. The air bag did not react.

Horn on steering wheel stopped working. Don't know when it stopped working, no lights, warnings on dash, nothing. You only use horn when you need it and when needed for safety concerns, it did not work. Almost got in an accident when needing horn which did not work and was first discovery of this safety defect. Same situation twice after first discovery of no horn while waiting for Dealership appointment day. But horn would work by pressing panic button on fob. Steering wheel, nothing. Dealer confirmed Steering Roll Connector causing horn to be inoperative on steering wheel. Very expensive basic safety component repair for Subaru customers. Best extended factory warranty back in 2015 was 7yr/100k mi. Our Subaru was only 8yrs 8mo old and with only 79k miles. Out of warranty, but Subaru of America did help with bill as a good faith jester being so close to being in warranty. Much appreciated. However, this basic safety feature should last much longer than 8yrs or almost 9yrs, especially with no prior or current warning it has failed. Everything else on steering wheel electrically functioned fine. This defect can cause an accident, possibly a serious accident. Glad my wife and I were not in that statistic. This is not the only complaint involving horn not working on this 2015 model here and elsewhere. Makes me wonder what other Subaru years and models experience this safety defect. I strongly believe this should be a safety recall before there's a fatality, if not already, from horn function on steering wheel becoming inoperative without warning.

power locks have failed in all 4 doors, must be manually unlocked from inside or key used in door. you can hear internal components trying to unlock latches but do not catch properly. especially dangerous with children in the backseat there is no quick way to unlock doors and get them out in an emergency

The horn became intermittently functional and now is no longer working and it has been diagnosed as the roll connector. When the horn fails, it is very dangerous and it appears from Internet reports, it is quite prevalent in this model.

My clutch fork was nearly broken in two.(pics available). I asked the mechanic to save the old parts. My 6MT was never modified; the vehicle was neither raced, taken off-road nor used for towing. Both Rear Wheel bearings failed and required replacement at 65,000 miles. Apparently this is a common issue as a TSB was issued and a new backer plate was installed as water is getting into the bearings (design issue)

I have had several instances while driving on the highway when my forester revs to a very high RPM, the vehicle speeds up suddenly, and then shuts off completely. The only fix is to put the vehicle in neutral, move to the shoulder, and restart the vehicle. This has happened approximately 4 times during my 1 year of ownership and it is completely random when it occurs.

DRIVER SIDE WINDOW SUDDENLY SHATTERED. NOBODY WAS NEARBY, NO ROCKS, CAR WAS JUST LEAVING GAS STATION ON SURFACE STREET, TURNING LEFT TO ENTER FREEWAY IN A QUARTER MILE WHEN THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW SHATTERED FOR NO EXPLANATION. TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH.

I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AT 7AM, AND I HAD STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. ALL OF A SUDDEN, I HEAR THE SOUND OF GLASS CRACK AND OUT OF THE CORNER OF MY EYE, I SEE A HUGE CRACK IN MY WINDSHIELD. IT JUST CONTINUED TO SPREAD THE REST OF THE DRIVE HOME. HAD TO GET IT REPLACED, OEM QUOTED ME OVER $800 AND EVEN MORE IF I HAD THE EYESIGHT OPTION.

PRIOR TO DRIVING MY CAR ON AUGUST 18, 2020, THERE WERE NO OBSERVABLE DEFECTS IN MY WINDSHIELD. I DROVE ABOUT A QUARTER MILE TO THE POST OFFICE. WHEN ARRIVING, THERE WAS STILL NO DEFECT. ABOUT 2-3 MINUTES LATER, I RETURNED TO MY CAR AND FOUND A LARGE CRACK IN THE WINDSHIELD THAT EXTENDED FROM THE TOP MIDDLE, BEHIND THE REAR VIEW MIRROR, DIAGONALLY DOWN TO THE LOWER CORNER ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE SUBARU DEALER WHO INSPECTED THE CRACK AND TOLD ME THERE WAS A MINUSCULE CHIP AT THE TOP OF THE WINDSHIELD, WHICH I COULDN'T EVEN SEE, ALONG THE CRACK AND THAT BECAUSE OF THE CHIP, THE WINDSHIELD WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER THE VEHICLE WARRANTY. THE REPLACEMENT COST, INCLUDING THE REQUIRED RECALIBRATION OF THE "EYESIGHT" SAFETY SYSTEM WOULD COST ME MORE THAT $1,000.00. I NOW LEARNED THAT THIS IS AN EXTREMELY COMMON PROBLEM WITH MY FORESTER, AS WELL AS OTHER SUBARU MODELS (I.E., SUBARU OUTBACK). THE LEVEL OF COMPLAINTS, WHICH COMPROMISES DRIVER AND PASSENGER SAFETLY WARRANTS A RECALL.

UNKNOWN. Often when I attempt to accelerate after stopping at a stop sign, the car hesitates, sometimes lunges ahead and then sometimes practically dying before accelerating normally. There have been times when It simply feels like a fuel pump problem and I know that Toyotas with this same Denso fuel pump have had documented problems similar to mine. This is the fourth time we have had the same problem. We were on a long drive (more than 1 hour on the road) on the freeway going 65-70mph. The fuel gauge showed 2 or 3 bars left and the estimated mileage left was 40-70 miles left when the car lost forward power, the lights still worked and electrical systems were functional but it was as though there was not gas left. We had to call a tow truck to bring us gas. As soon as they put a couple gallons in the tank the car started and continued without issue to the nearest gas station. This was extremely dangerous as we had our children in the car and had a loss of power on the freeway and had to sit on the side of the freeway in a dangerous area waiting for gas to be delivered. We took it to our mechanic who could not detect any problems with the sensors, or other systems, there were no codes generated and no warning before it lost power, the low fuel light hadn't even gone on.

On six occasions since 2020, our Subaru Forester has lost engine power at highway speeds after being driven for 2 hours on an interstate. On each occasion, we had to pull to the shoulder of the road with no engine power and restart the car. On the last three occasions it has taken 15 minutes to restart. Losing engine power at highway speed could have endangered our family or nearby drivers. We have taken the car to multiple dealers who have not been able to reproduce the failure, but after the latest incident in August 2023 our local dealers now recommends replacement of the fuel pump.

I was on the MA Pike in the middle of three lanes going 70mph and all my red lights came on, the engine revved high RPM, then seemed to be getting no gas and next stalled out. The trip computer said I had had 60 miles of gas left until empty, and I still had a bar of gas left showing on the odometer. There were no warnings lights or messages prior to the failure. It was an extremely unsafe situation, as I had to pull into the “slow” uphill truck lane, lane one of three lanes. There was no shoulder to get on. Trucks were whizzing by me at 70mph. AAA was not able to assist me, as I was in an unsafe location. They called the MA State Troopers who showed up immediately, and frankly probably saved my life, while risking their lives. They ordered gas, as they indicated they had seen this problem before. Two gallons of gas and the car started right up even though it still had gas in the tank. The problem has not been reproduced by a dealer, but it has been written about my many other 2015 Forester owners. Others have reported the same exact problem, sometimes resulting in accidents. How has Subaru gotten away without a recall on this extremely dangerous problem. They definitely are aware of it.

Fuel gauge sending unit not functioning causing car to over report remaining gas mileage. Car runs out of gas though gas gauge still reports roughly 20% tank capacity remaining and ~60 miles or range left. This has happened to me multiple times,racing me stranded on highways at least 6 times.

My vehicle has a capacitive sensor in the passenger seat that determines if someone is sitting in the seat and turns the airbag on or off accordingly. Starting towards the beginning of March, my vehicle stopped detecting if someone was sitting in that seat and permanently disabled the airbags. I took the vehicle in to a Subaru dealer to get this fixed, as I view airbags as necessary to the safety of passengers in the vehicle. As it turns out, there was a previous recall for a part in this airbag system related to a wire harness. However, the dealer replaced this wire harness (at their expense) and it did not re-enable use of the passenger airbags. The dealer believes that the root cause of the issue is with the capacitive seat sensor. Not only was there an extended lead time on replacing this part (originally up to 1-year but luckily came in after a couple of months) but they would not pay for the cost of this part. Since there is no way for me to bypass this sensor to re-enable the airbags on my own, I believe that this part should be covered by Subaru. Furthermore, I don't understand how this part wasn't covered under a recall, either past or future, if it permanently disables a safety system. I was able to find a workaround online that involves installing a capacitor that makes the airbag system think someone is always present but Subaru would not perform this. This would mean that the airbag would go off even if someone is not sitting in the seat, but that seems like a small price to pay for potentially saving someone's life in the case of a potential accident. My case number with Subaru's Customer Advocacy group is Case # 250528-1300198 for any follow-up with them.

My issue (which started a week ago) is that the Occupant Detection System (ODS) shows the passenger airbag as OFF and gives an SRS Airbag warning when my spouse is sitting in the passenger seat. When I sit in the passenger seat, the passenger airbag shows ON. But then when the car is driven with no passenger, the system dings until the driver hooks the passenger seatbelt--it thinks the passenger is still there. (I weigh 190; my spouse weighs 125). The consequences are that if the vehicle is involved in a crash and my spouse is in the passenger seat, her airbag will fail to deploy. If anyone is driving without a passenger (after I have been in the passenger seat) the passenger airbag may deploy unnecessarily, should a crash occur. My ODS harness was replaced in Feb., 2020 as part of NTSA Safety Recall ID 19V-701 (Subaru Safety Recall WUM-98) to address faulty ODS issues. (I was not having an issue then). Yesterday my local Subaru dealer recommended "Seat frame bottom replacement and ODS harness DTC B1760, 17067" to address this "ODS Internal Failure." "Part is on back order" so repair is pending.

The car regularly lurches or feels as it will stall. This occurs when trying to go from stops to starts both in a slow and faster manner. Has occurred while trying to turn left with oncoming traffic and I was concerned I may get hit. Dealership said “all 2015 Forrester do this. It drives like the others on the lot. There aren’t any issues and if there were we would see light”. Obviously this is a know issue and Subaru doesn’t want to address it. When it happens the rpms shutter abs the speed doesn’t change

The wheel hub bolt stud and nut freeze/lock up. They break apart when the technician attempts to remove to perform tire rotation. It is a common problem with the Subaru Forester. I have had to replace 2, so far. Dealer charges $200+ for replacing it. Subaru has not stepped up to take responsibility for the defect.

My wife’s 2015 Subaru Forester is reported to have a bad rear driver side wheel bearing from our mechanic. She only has 58,464 miles at the time of the incident/ diagnosis. I believe this wheel bearing has prematurely failed. We both drive normally and are not reckless. Please look into the batches/ lot# of the wheel bearings that went into their vehicles around the 2015 models and who makes them. Even multiple manufacturers or mixed batches being installed into new vehicles. They refuse to cover this as our new vehicle warranty has expired.

vehicle feels like it is always stuck in first gear. the Subaru dealership says its a rear hub bearing, drivers side. Cost to repair over $500. The vehicle has less than 60k miles on it.

Lug nut studs snap very easily. I had to replace a wheel hub as the studs could not handle basic pressure. Extremely dangerous when you’re changing your spare and in the midst of traffic.

At just under 54,000 miles, noticed a loud hum, thought it was a bad transmission, took it into the dealer (Walser Subaru of South St. Paul, MN) that concluded it was faulty rear wheel bearings on both sides, and told me it was a serious safety issue that should be fixed immediately. Had it fixed for $1,000 plus and problem seems to have been solved, but dealer reported that Subaru would take no responsibility for such a serious safety issue at such low mileage. My feelng is that Subaru should pay to fix such a defect for me and other victims.

While driving i noticed my hood bouncing up and down as if the hood latch was pulled. I havent pulled the hood latch in a while and thought it couldn't be open. Upon pulling off the roadway i noticed it was able to be opened simply by sliding the lever to open the hood. I then shut the hood thinking maybe I accidentally pulled the lever somehow with my foot. This was not the case because I then tested it by pulling up on the hood and it released again as if the lever was pulled. I checked the lever and it looks as it is ok and i gave it a pull to see if it seemed broken but it does not appear that way. I have not gone to a dealer yet and will bring it to my mechanic as soon as im able to safely get it there.

I experienced unintended acceleration while parking my car. The car surged ahead, over a curb and collided with a metal lamppost. Damage was on the body of the car’s right front. While no one was injured the car went across a space used by pedestrians including schoolchildren. There was no warning before the car surged. A friend later told me that she had experienced the same thing when she had stopped her 2018 Subaru Forester .

The horn stopped working. Upon inspection at the Subaru dealership they confirmed that the steering wheel roll connector had an open circuit. After researching this, I found it can also affect the air bag. When I asked the dealership if the airbag could be effected, they said yes and couldn’t confirm or deny if it would or wouldn’t work. The passenger airbag also stopped working around the same time, so that was concerning.

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure and no repair was performed. Additionally, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the rear brake lights failed to illuminate while depressing the brake pedal. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced the brake light switch under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V149000 (Exterior Lighting). The failure mileage was 19,000.

Started the car and began to back out of driveway when power steering warning light came on and power steering was loss as soon as I began turning the wheel. Total loss of power steering. If this were to happen at highway speeds, unexpectedly, a major life threatening collision could occur. The odds of a probable coolision would be pretty high for even an experienced driver.

We had driven up Mt Washington in NH (about 6000ft high) and were returning back. We had used the X mode (hill assist) intermittently on the way down. Had driven almost 150 miles back to home, when the car suddenly lost power and started to shudder. We were able to coast to the side. We tried to start again and again the same problem. We noticed that the brakes seemed quite warm. After about 5 minutes we tried again and were able to drive slowly to a gas station, but no one to help since it was late. Since fuel was low at 1 bar (60 miles distance to empty). We filled up the tank and made our way home driving slowly on the back roads. We are not sure if it could be a problem with the fuel, electrical system, brakes or the hill assist. While the car seems to run fine on short trips of a few miles, have not taken it out on any longer drives.

CAR DID NOT STALL. I THEN TURNED IT OFF, OPENED THE HOOD AND EVERYTHING LOOKED NORMAL. CAR WAS AT NORMAL OPERATIONAL TEMPERATURE AND HAD 1/4 TANK IF FUEL LEFT. CAR WAS INFO FOR SERVICE WITHIN 500 MILES AT SUBARU. AFTER CHECKING THE ENGINE, I STARTED THE CAR AGAIN AND TOOK OFF. 30 MINUTES LATER, THE EXACT SAME ISSUE OCCURED.

BEFORE I COULD GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE THE WHOLE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WAS IN FLAMES.

This 2015 Subaru accelerates without warning and without gas pedal input. The issue arose about a month ago (July 2021) and has persisted ever since. The vehicle will rev while in park and once put into drive will jolt aggressively and without warning. Additionally, the vehicle will enter low-power mode at random and decelerate to 15-20mph. This has caused multiple hazards when driving on highways/interstates where pulling over is difficult or impossible.

The 2015 Subaru Forester accelerated unexpectedly while slowly turning into a a Walgreens parking lot. The acceleration could not be stopped by stepping on the brake, and the car crashed into the brick building. The vehicle is at Phil's Auto Body Shop in Rosemount, MN. The estimate on the car is complete, and waiting on State Farm insurance to approve. The police were at the scene of the accident. Walgreens has video of the accident from their security cameras.

TWICE WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE ON A 3-4 HOUR TRIP GOING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH USING CRUISE CONTROL WITH APPROXIMATELY 1/12 - 1/6 TANK OF GAS, MY ENGINE BEGAN TO REV AND AT THE SAME TIME LOST POWER AND SPEED. THE FIRST TIME I PULLED OFF THE ROAD, SHUT THE ENGINE OFF, WAITED APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES AND WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE AND FINISH MY TRIP. IT HAPPENED THE SECOND TIME WITH MOSTLY IDENTICAL CIRCUMSTANCES. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD, TURNED OFF THE ENGINE, WAITED AND WAS UNABLE TO START THE ENGINE. I HAD TO TOW MY VEHICLE TO A DEALERSHIP. ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS WAS DRIVING MY 2015 SUBARU FORESTER (TOURING EDITION) AT HIGHWAY SPEED, 70 MPH, THE CAR LOST POWER AND STARTED DECELERATING. LUCKILY BOTH TIMES I WAS ABLE TO GET OVER TO THE SHOULDER. THE CAR RE-STARTED AFTER AWHILE. THE FIRST TIME THE LOW FUEL LIGHT WAS ON BUT I HAD OVER 50 MILES LEFT ACCORDING TO FUEL SENSOR. THE SECOND TIME, A MONTH OR SO LATER, NO LOW FUEL LIGHT WAS ON. THERE WERE 2 BARS LEFT ON THE FUEL GAUGE. AGAIN CAR TOTALLY DECELERATED AND THEN A FEW MINUTES LATER WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN. SUBARU DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THEY HAVE NOT HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM BUT SOMEONE DID CALL THEM ABOUT IT THE DAY BEFORE I CALLED. I AM SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT WHERE THEY SAY THEY WILL DO A DIAGNOSTIC ON IT. I'M HAVING AN ISSUE WITH MY 2015 FORESTER 2.5I CVT THAT HAS NEARLY CAUSED ACCIDENTS, BUT WHEN I TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE TODAY I WAS DISMISSED WITHOUT BEING HELPED. MY CAR HAS ABOUT 24,700 MILES ON IT, SO IT'S THOROUGHLY BROKEN IN AND I'M USED TO THE WAY THE CVT WORKS. IN THE PAST MONTH OR SO, I'VE NOTICED BUCKING, SHUDDERING, AND POWER LOSS DURING INITIAL ACCELERATION FROM A STOP. SOMETIMES THIS IS JUST A LITTLE BUMPING, BUT OTHER TIMES IT'S A NEAR TOTAL LOSS OF POWER FOR SEVERAL SECONDS, LONG ENOUGH TO BE VERY DANGEROUS WHILE ACCELERATING OR ESPECIALLY WHILE TURNING. WHEN I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE, THE ADVISOR THERE STARTED TO TELL ME THAT THE BEHAVIOR IS NORMAL EVEN BEFORE ANYONE HAD STARTED TO LOOK AT THE CAR. AFTER A TECH TOOK IT FOR A TEST DRIVE, THE ADVISOR TOLD ME THAT MY CONCERNS "DESCRIBE A PERFECT CVT" AND HE DOESN'T SEE A PROBLEM, AND THAT IT'S EXPECTED BEHAVIOR TO HAVE DANGEROUS POWER LOSS LIKE THIS. I WAS TOLD THAT MY PROBLEM IS NOT A PROBLEM AND SENT AWAY. POWER LOSS LIKE THIS DURING ACCELERATION IS CLEARLY A PROBLEM, DESPITE THE CLAIMS OF THE SUBARU EMPLOYEES, AND I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS CAR. SUBARU REFUSES TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE. THE SERVICE ADVISOR SUGGESTED THAT I AVOID ACCELERATING OR TURNING ANY TIME POWER LOSS WOULD BE A DANGER OR ISSUE - THIS IS CLEARLY NOT AN ACCEPTABLE SOLUTION.

Airbag/seatbelt system failure August, 2024. Passenger Occupant Detection System (ODS) failure. Detection system fails to correctly detect passenger in the seat. Sometimes it thinks there is no passenger, when there is one (will fail to deploy airbag in a crash); sometimes it thinks there is a passenger when there is none (requires seat belt to be buckled with no one in the seat). Recall (19V-701 -- ODS harness replacement) repairs were done to this vehicle Feb. 2020. New solution is different than for the 19V-701 recall. For this issue, dealer recommends replacement of seat frame bottom (seat sensor). The seat sensor is failing. Repairs can not be made because replacement seat sensors are NOT AVAILABLE. Backordered. Subaru USA estimates July, 2025 first availability. This means critical safety issue for passengers in this vehicle will exist for nearly a year--even if parts become available in July.

THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT FIRST CAME ON AS SOON AS I STARTED MY CAR ONE MORNING IN MID-OCTOBER 2018, IN WHICH I TOOK MY CAR TO SUBARU OF KENNESAW, GA TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. THEY FIRST ASKED IF I HAD SPILLED ANYTHING ON THE FRONT SEAT (IN WHICH I RESPONDED "NO") AND THEN ADVISED ME THAT THE WHOLE SEAT BOTTOM WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED (ABOUT $989 PARTS AND LABOR) AND THAT THE PART WAS ON BACK-ORDER. I FOLLOWED-UP WITH THEM IN DECEMBER 2018 AND NEVER HEARD BACK. WHEN I RECENTLY WENT THERE FOR AN OIL CHANGE FEBRUARY 18, 2019 THEY BROUGHT THE ISSUE UP TO ME AGAIN, IN WHICH I RESPONDED THAT NOBODY EVER RETURNED MY CALL. THEY CHECKED AGAIN TO SEE IF THEY HAD THE PART BUT STATED IT IS STILL ON A NATIONWIDE BACK-ORDER. WE ARE NOW GOING ON 5+ MONTHS OF MY PASSENGER AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT BEING ON (IT SOMETIMES TURNS OFF INTERMITTENTLY, BUT IN THOSE INSTANCES THE PASSENGER SEATBELT LIGHT WILL COME ON AND DING REPEATEDLY UNTIL THE SEATBELT IS PLUGGED IN - EVEN IF THERE IS NO PASSENGER). I HAVE DONE QUITE A BIT OF RESEARCH INTO THIS ISSUE AND IT SEEMS LIKE A LOT OF OTHER CONSUMERS ARE EXPERIENCING SIMILAR ISSUES. SUBARU SEEMS TO HAVE DIFFERENT EXPLANATIONS AND SEEMS VERY UNWILLING TO FIX THEIR FAULTY PASSENGER SEAT SENSORS. IT IS UPSETTING AND DISCOURAGING TO KNOW THAT THEY HAVE ALLOWED ME TO DRIVE AROUND THIS LONG WITH A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG/PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR.

We were driving at 75 mph in the left lane when our car suddenly dropped in speed to 40 mph as though the transmission had dropped into neutral. There were no warning lights or any indication about what was happening. We were in heavy traffic, with trucks and car hitting their brakes. This could have caused a very serious accident. We managed to move our car to the right shoulder. The car's transmission re-engaged and we picked up our speed. This happened 3 times in the space of a few hundred miles while we were on a road trip. I called Subaru. They had no idea what it was. We went to the nearest Subaru dealer and they ran a diagnostic test, even including a 12 mile test drive with the computer hooked up. Nothing showed up. They told us to continue our trip. Then it happened 2 more times! The last time, again, in the left lane, on cruise. The engine rpm clocked up at 7500 rpm before I was able to get the car off the road. The engine died and we had to be towed to a shop. Again, no warning dash lights. This is a serious flaw and very dangerous.

DRIVING WITH EYESIGHT ENABLED AT 75MPH IN HEAVY TRAFFIC ON LOOP 202 FREEWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 2:30PM LOCAL TIME. WEATHER WAS SUNNY AND DRY, APPROXIMATELY 97 DEGREES. NEARLY RESULTING IN A CRASH. FEET WERE NOT ON ANY PEDAL. VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND REVD TO REDLINE AS IF THE CAR WAS IN NEUTRAL, ENGINE THEN SHUT OFF. INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SHOWED EVERY WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. EYESIGHT DISPLAY SHOWED A VEHICLE DIRECTLY IN FRONT YET THERE WAS NO VEHICLE PRESENT. I CHECKED TO MAKE SURE GEAR SELECTOR WAS STILL IN DRIVE. PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR WHICH HAD NO AFFECT, NO RPM CHANGE. WAS ABLE TO COAST A SHORT DISTANCE BUT STILL OBSTRUCTED TRAFFIC. POLICE HAD TO SHUT DOWN FREEWAY TO MOVE MY VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER. ATTEMPTS TO RESTART VEHICLE FAILED, ALL WARNING LIGHTS ON INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ILLUMINATE ANY TIME THE KEY IS TURNED TO THE "ON" POSITION. SUBARU ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TOWED VEHICLE TO LOCAL SUBARU DEALER, AWAITING DIAGNOSIS.

Tire developed a bubble in the sidewall about 1.5" in diameter and 3/4" high. Tire removed from service and replaced as a safety issue. I have the tire in my storage. Car is a Subaru Forester used light duty and on paved roads. Approximately 75% to 80% of tread remaining. TPMS operational, so tire was not run low on air. When tire pressure removed (to replace tire), bubble disappeared. Vehicle has 70,000 miles. Vendor declined to reimburse.

CURSORY EXAMINATION SHOWED LARGE TEAR THROUGH THE SIDEWALL ON THE INTERIOR SIDE. PHOTOS ARE AVAILABLE. TIRES HAVE 15,320 MILES ON THEM.

Suddenly lost acceleration and engine stopped - without any dashboard signal of low gas or engine issue. Car was able to start after couple of minutes. At the time of losing acceleration and stopping gas indicator was showing two bars - and car was not running with low fuel indicator. My whole family was in the car and stopping in the middle lane of a busy national highway of 65 miles speed limit on a Saturday late in night was very scary!

WE WERE DRIVING IN THE FREEWAY AT 65MPH, WE HAD BEEN DRIVING ABOUT AN HOUR, ON THE FREEWAY WITH SOME TRAFFIC BUT MOSTLY MOVING NORMALLY. SUDDENLY WITH NO WARNING NOR ENGINE LIGHTS, THE CAR REVED BUT DIDN'T RESPOND TO THE GAS PEDAL. AS THOUGH IT HAD RUN OUT OF GAS. THE LOW FUEL LIGHT HAD GONE ON ALREADY, IT TURNS ON AROUND 70 MILES TO EMPTY, BUT WE STILL HAD 50 MILES TO EMPTY. WE PULLED OVER AND CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TO DELIVER GAS SINCE THAT'S ALL WE COULD FIGURE HAD HAPPENED. AFTER ABOUT 30 MINUTES WAITING WE DECIDED TO TRY IT AND JUST SEE IF IT WOULD START AND IT DID! WE DROVE TO THE NEXT EXIT AND GOT GAS WITH NO FURTHER PROBLEMS, AND CONTINUED ON HOME AFTER. THIS WAS VERY SCARY AND LEFT MY FAMILY SITTING STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY. NO ENGINE LIGHTS, NO CODES, NOTHING OBVIOUS TO FIX. THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS REPLACED AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. APPROXIMATELY TWO YEARS AND 12,000 MILES LATER, THE SAME FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE REPLACEMENT PEDAL WAS A NEW AND IMPROVED VERSION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,000.

I was driving with cruise control going around 70 when the car started slowing down suddenly. Not wanting to slow down even more, I turned off the cruise control by hand using the cancel button on the steering wheel (rather than tap the brake) but when I then hit the accelerator, the engine felt like it was in neutral, revving past 6000 rpm on the tachometer. At that point, I realized I had no control over the drive train so I pulled off the road onto the center median of the highway, just as the engine died - fortunately, there wasn’t anyone following close behind. We had been driving for about 1.5 hours with the AC blasting and the gas tank at that point was low, with less than 1/8 remaining. All this happened without any dashboard warning lights turning on. This was the very last leg of a ten-day, 2,000 mile road trip. I tried restarting the engine but only got clicking. Since I thought we’d be struck a while and it was so hot, I turned the key to the accessory position and was able to roll down the windows. We sat there for a couple of minutes wondering what to do. It took another minute to find my AAA card. Before calling for roadside assistance, I tried starting the engine again and this time it turned over. We did not have any further problems in the remaining 100 miles of our trip (though I was very anxious about it happening again). I took the car in to a Subaru service center this morning (36 hours later). They did a multi-point inspection and road test but did not find any issues and were not able to replicate the problem.

ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS, MY CAR HAS SHUTDOWN ON THE HIGHWAY AT SPEEDS AROUND 75-80 MPH. THEY ALL HAPPENED DURING ROAD TRIPS WHILE MY CAR WAS BETWEEN 1/8 AND 1/4 TANK. THE CAR HAS A NOTICEABLE DROP IN POWER, WHICH FEELS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION DISENGAGES AND APPLYING MORE GAS DOESN'T HELP. THIS IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS!!!! LUCKILY I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE ON ALL 3 LOCATIONS SO I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER WITHOUT INCIDENT. THE CAR WILL NOT START, UNTIL MORE GAS IS PUT IN THE CAR. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT 65MPH THE CAR LOST ALL POWER. THE RPMS WENT UP LIKE IT WAS IN NEUTRAL (CAR WAS STILL IN DRIVE). FUEL TANK WAS DOWN TO A LITTLE LESS THAN 1/4TH OF A TANK BUT STILL HAD 100 MILES UNTIL EMPTY. ADAPTIVE CRUISE WAS ENGAGED AT THE TIME (AUTOMATED CRUISE APPLIED ACCELERATOR THAT ROSE THE RPMS TO 4500). THIS WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A 4 HOUR ROAD TRIP ON A FLAT STRAIGHT ROAD. CAR EXHIBITED NO WARNING OR LIGHTS UNTIL COMPLETE POWER WAS LOST. I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY PULL OVER TO THE SHOULDER. ALL LIGHTS CAME ON IN THE DASH AFTER I WAS STOPPED. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND I WAS ABLE TO IMMEDIATELY START IT AGAIN. SHORTLY AFTER I FILLED UP THE TANK AND THE CAR DROVE FINE FOR THE NEXT HOUR UNTIL I WAS HOME. THIS WAS A SCARY INCIDENT THAT COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS. I NOTICED THAT THIS CAR HAS ABOUT A DOZEN OTHER REPORTS THAT ARE MUCH LIKE THIS IN THE PAST YEAR.

FROM A FULL STOP, A/C ON, I BEGAN TO ACCELERATE AT A GREEN LIGHT. CAR STOPPED ACCELERATION AT APROX. 2 MILES PER HOUR AND COASTED THRU LARGE INTERSECTION BEFORE ACCELERATING AGAIN. I CHECKED TO SEE IF THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE AND THAT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS OFF. I TOOK CAR TO DEALER WHO SAID NO "ERROR CODE" IS AVAILABLE THAT WOULD INDICATE A PROBLEM AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE. OBVIOUSLY THERE IS AN ISSUE BECAUSE ANOTHER DRIVER MADE THIS SAME REPORT. THIS IS A HUGE CONCERN FOR ME BECAUSE 1) WHAT HAPPENS IF THE CAR FAILS AGAIN WHEN I PULL INTO TRAFFIC WITH MY KID IN THE CAR? I PURCHASED A NEW 2015 SUBARU FORESTER JANUARY 31, 2015. ANYTIME THE TEMPERATURE IS BELOW APPROXIMATELY 10F, THE INTERIOR WINDOWS ICE OVER. AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED WITH THE DEALER FOR NEXT WEEK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.

WHILE DRIVING EASTBOUND ON I-80 IN IOWA JUST EAST OF EXIT 220 (WILLIAMSBURG) OUR CAR LOST POWER BUT, BECAUSE IT HAS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION, I WAS ABLE TO DEPRESS THE CLUTCH AND COAST TO THE LEFT ROAD MARGIN. THE LOW FUEL INDICATOR HAD COME ON A FEW MILES BEFORE BUT THE DISPLAY INDICATOR SHOWED THAT WE HAD SUFFICIENT FUEL TO DRIVE 60 MILES AT THE DISPLAYED AVERAGE OF 30.5 MILES PER GALLON. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN CORRECT AS THE MANUAL STATES THAT WHEN THE LOW FUEL INDICATOR COMES THERE ARE 2.6 GALLONS REMAINING. I TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR AS THE INDICATOR CONTINUED TO SHOW ONE INCREMENT IN THE GAS GAUGE AND A RANGE OF 60 MILES ON THE DISPLAY. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS IT WAS APPARENT THAT THE ENGINE WAS NOT GETTING FUEL. WE EVENTUALLY WERE ASSISTED BY AN IOWA STATE PATROL OFFICER WHO TOOK ME BACK TO THE CASEY'S STATION IN WILLIAMSBURG WHERE I BOUGHT A GASOLINE CAN AND ABOUT 3.5 GALLONS OF FUEL. WITH HIS ASSISTANCE I WAS ABLE TO FUEL MY CAR (THE TRAFFIC AT THAT TIME AND PLACE WAS VERY HEAVY AND FAST), AND THE CAR STARTED IMMEDIATELY. IT IS BE IMPORTANT TO NOTE THAT THE LOW FUEL INDICATOR DID NOT COME ON AFTER I STARTED THE CAR. I HAD NOT PUT ALL OF THE GAS IN THE CAN INTO MY CAR, AND THE MANUAL STATES THAT THE INDICATOR WILL NOT COME ON WHEN THE TANK IS HOLDING 4.5 GALLONS OF FUEL, SO THERE WAS CLEARLY A GALLON OR MORE OF FUEL IN THE TANK WHEN IT DIED. ALSO, THAT SECTION OF EASTBOUND I-80 IS SLIGHTLY UPHILL. IT SEEMS THEN THAT EITHER THE ELECTRONICS ASSOCIATED WITH THE READING FUEL LEVELS ARE VERY INACCURATE, OR THE GAS TANK IS BUILT IN SUCH A WAY THAT WHEN THE TANK IS LOWER ON FUEL AND GOING UPHILL GAS IS NOT GETTING TO THE ENGINE. HAD I NOT BEEN DRIVING A MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND ABLE TO ROLL ONTO THE MARGIN UPHILL BUT SIMPLY SLOWED TO A SUDDEN STOP IN THAT TRAFFIC WHEN THE ENGINE DIED, I BELIEVE IT WOULD HAVE CAUSED A VERY SERIOUS SERIES IF COLLISIONS.

WE HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE FOR ALMOST 4 YEARS AND HAVE HAD TO GET 2 NEW BATTERIES WITH LESS THAN 2500 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE. I HAD TWO INSTANCES WHERE MY CAR STALLED ON THE HIGHWAY WHILE DOING 50-60 MILES AN HOUR. THE ENGINE RUNS FINE AND REVS GO UP WHEN I PUSH THE ACCELERATOR, HOWEVER THE CAR DOES NOT SPEED UP. BOTH THE TIMES I WAS ABLE TO MOVE THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY, NARROWLY AVOIDING ACCIDENTS. THE ENGINE DIED BOTH TIMES AND AFTER A PERIOD OF TIME STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY I WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR AND DRIVE TO MY DESTINATION. I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO GET IT CHECKED OUT. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THEY COULD NOT FIND WHAT THE ISSUE IS WITH THE CAR. ACCORDING TO THEM, THEY IDLED THE CAR FOR ABOUT AN HOUR TO WARM IT UP AND DROVE IT FOR AN HOUR. THEY REPEATED THIS ONE MORE TIME. HOWEVER, THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE AND CANNOT FIX IT. APPARENTLY THEY PERFORMED A THROTTLE BODY SERVICE ON THE CAR AND CHARGED ME FOR IT. LOOKING AT THE MILEAGES ON THE INVOICE, THE CAR WENT INTO THE DEALERSHIP AT 91223 MILES AND WENT OUT OF THE DEALERSHIP AT 91255 MILES. HOWEVER WHEN I PICKED UP THE CAR, THE MILEAGE ON IT WAS 91241 MILES. SO BASICALLY THEY DROVE THE CAR FOR A TOTAL OF 18 MILES IN 2 HOURS? I HAVE TWO ISSUES HERE. 1. I HAVE A CAR THAT HAS A POTENTIAL TO PUT THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY AND I AT RISK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. 2. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMED THEY TRIED TO DIAGNOSE IT BUT EVIDENTLY HAVE NOT EVEN TRIED, IF YOU LOOK AT THE MILEAGE. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW I CAN GET THIS ISSUE FIXED AND FEEL SAFE IN THE CAR.

ON TWO OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING ROUGHLY 65 MPH THE ACCELERATION COMPLETELY GAVE OUT IN MY CAR, AS THOUGH THE CAR WENT INTO NEUTRAL. I COULD PRESS DOWN ON THE ACCELERATOR AND THE RPM'S WOULD SHOOT UP IN THE GAUGE CLUSTER, BUT THE CAR SIMPLY CONTINUED TO SLOW DOWN. I DRIFTED INTO THE SHOULDER, TURNED OFF THE CAR, WAITED A FEW MINUTES, AND TURNED THE IGNITION. BOTH TIMES, THE CAR RESUMED DRIVING NORMALLY. BOTH TIMES I BROUGHT THE CAR INTO A SUBARU DEALERSHIP, AND BOTH TIMES THEY KEPT THE CAR FOR A FEW DAYS BEFORE SAYING THEY COULDN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM, AND THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. MY VEHICLE IS BUCKING/JERKING UNDER LIGHT TO MEDIUM ACCELERATION LOADS BETWEEN ABOUT 10 MPH TO 30 MPH. THE ISSUE OCCURS INTERMITTENTLY, BUT IT WILL OCCUR SEVERAL TIMES DURING A SINGLE TRIP TO WORK 25 MILES AWAY. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER, BUT THE TECHNICIAN WAS NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE IN THE PARKING LOT. THEY BELIEVE IT IS AN ISSUE WITH THE CVT. OTHERS ONLINE HAVE EXPRESSED CONCERN WITH THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. SPECIFICALLY, YOU DEPRESS THE GAS PEDAL A CONSTANT DISTANCE, BUT THE VEHICLE WILL GIVE YOU UNRELIABLE AMOUNTS OF ACCELERATION: SOMETIMES AN INITIAL LURCH AND THEN A PAUSE AND THEN ANOTHER LURCH OR VERY LITTLE ACCELERATION AND THEN A PAUSE AND A LURCH. DEPRESSING THE GAS PEDAL FARTHER DURING ONE OF THE JERKY PERIODS HAS LITTLE EFFECT EXCEPT TO MAKE THE LURCH MORE VIOLENT ONCE IT FINALLY HAPPENS. NOT BEING ABLE TO ACCELERATE RELIABLY DURING A TURN WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND THE REASON FOR ME WRITING A REPORT. I WILL CONTINUE TO WORK WITH THE DEALER, BUT FROM THE RESEARCH I HAVE DONE, THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED ISSUE. REPORT OF FAILED RECALL REMEDY (RECALL 19V-149 / WUE-90) My 2015 Subaru Forester experienced a total recurrence of the defect addressed in 2019. The vehicle became trapped in 'Park' intermittently on several occasions before remaining immobilized. During one incident, the manual shift-lock override failed to function. While the brake lights functioned during these incidents, the failure to shift is a documented symptom of a failing brake light switch. I had the switch replaced by a technician who initially suggested a full shifter assembly replacement. However, replacing ONLY the brake light switch immediately and permanently resolved the issue. This confirms the recall-related part was the point of failure. Subaru of America was notified but declined to acknowledge this as a failure of the safety remedy. I am also reporting intermittent 'ghost' activations of the right turn signal stalk.

Passenger airbag sensor intermittently works and turns off when passenger is in the seat. Dashboard light for airbag is constantly on and passenger airbag is constantly off. Issues with seat sensor going off when no one is sitting in the passenger seat. Abs system error message. All identical to recall symptoms.

My Subaru just failed inspection for a defective airbag sensor in the front passenger side. We had this repaired at a Subaru dealer in Jan 2020, to the tune of $1500. There was a recall in 2020 for this exact problem, and our vehicle fell with the guidelines (2015-2018 Foresters equipped with heated seats), but for some reason our vehicle wasn't included in the recall. So we paid for our fix out of pocket. Now 2 years later we are seeing the same problem. This is unacceptable on Subaru's part. Why is our vehicle excluded from the recall when it is obviously having the same problem?

I had a problem. arming the remote control. with forester subaru 2014 -2015 model car w/n arm. with key or electronically. I had changed battery you can arm manually sometimes , alarm will go off if you use the key to open door and shut it off with key. in ignition. had a diagnostic test done. with CODE B1500. tpms lights stays on also. tires are good. pressure good. extra remote key is good batteries changed. any info concerning this. Thank you. this happen week and half ago nov 11,2024. have an appt will subaru dealer on dec 5 to toubleshoot. is there any recalls for this matter

THE ELECTRICAL KEEPS HAVING PROBLEMS. THIS PROBLEM IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET FOR SEVERAL YEARS OF THE FORESTER. I DON'T KNOW WHY THERE HASN'T ALREADY BEEN A RECALL. THERE WILL BE A BE A BEEP, USUALLY WHEN DRIVING - SOMETIMES WHEN TRYING TO START THE CAR OR MOVE OUT OF PARK, AND ABOUT ANY "SAFETY" FEATURE THAT THIS CAR HAS EXHIBITS A LIGHT AND/OR WARNING. WHILE THIS HAPPENS OVER DAYS, SOMETIMES THE GEARS STICK IN PARK. I HAVE TO TAKE A TOOL AND PRESS BESIDE THE GEAR STICK TO GET OUT OF PARK. THE LIGHTS WILL STAY LIKE THIS FOR DAYS OR WEEKS AND THEN IT JUST STOPS. I HAVE HAD IT CHECKED, BUT IT IS JUST RESET UNTIL THE NEXT TIME IT HAPPENS. JUST THE OTHER NIGHT, MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING BEHIND ME AND TOLD ME THAT MY BRAKE LIGHTS WERE NOT WORKING CONSISTENTLY. THIS IS DANGEROUS!!! This year, an error message indicated that the SRS system has ceased functioning on the passenger seat. According to the Subaru Service Center, a sensor within the seat has malfunctioned. This issue appears to be common, based on online research. The failed sensor poses a risk to the front passenger, as it may disable the SRS system and potentially the airbag. Despite this, the dealer has informed us that the repair will not be covered under warranty due to the vehicle's 2015 model year. The dealer has recommended replacing the entire seat, which seems to be an unusually premature failure for a part expected to last the vehicle’s lifetime.

THERE IS AN ACTIVE RECALL, WUM-98, WHICH OUTLINES THE EXACT ISSUE AND SHOWS MY VEHICLE DESCRIPTION (2015 SUBARU FORESTER WITH HEATED SEATS), HOWEVER, MY VIN DOES NOT SHOW IT BEING AFFECTED BY WUM-98. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE AND IT NEEDS TO BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I HAVE CALLED TWO SUBARU DEALERSHIPS AND SUBARU. NO HELP. I was backing out of a parking spot, and there was a telephone poll behind me in my path. I needed to pull forward to navigate around this poll. After backing up some, I put the car into drive to pull slightly forward, and the car lurched aggressively, so much so that I got out to see if it'd caught on something. It did not -- there was absolutely nothing there. So I got back in and tried to continue forward, and the accelerator went full force. I floored the brake pedal, but the car behaved as though I was flooring the accelerator. The car drove itself over a cement block, through a staircase and into the brick wall of an abandoned building, continuing to accelerate for a few seconds while against the wall. Air bags did not deploy. I walked away without physical injury, thank goodness. There were no warning lights, symptoms of or dashboard indicators of a problem before or during the issue. Upon investigation online, we see that there is a pending class action for this exact issue. The vehicle has been inspected by our insurance carrier and been deemed a total loss. Insurance has asked that we turn the title over to them in order to receive our payout, and I believe they plan to destroy the car.

I QUICKLY CHECKED MY REARVIEW MIRROR TO MAKE SURE NO ONE WAS TOO CLOSE BEHIND ME. IT WAS VERY SCARY AND I WAS ABLE TO COAST AND ABRUPTLY TURN INTO AN ENTERPRISE RENTAL. With no one sitting in the passage seat the warning light will not turn off unless the seat belt is buckled The CVT transmission is making a high pitch whining sound The dealership informed me the transmission is going out. There is a manufacturer extended warranty for up to 100,000 miles that I have not received. My car started to make the sound at 110,210 miles Subaru was fully aware of the CVT problems and are not being held accountable for the repairs. I have been quoted I’ve $7000 from the dealership for a replacement The CVT is not repairable My car is now unsafe to drive. The CVT transmission can fail and not shift or not stop while braking

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

It has happened 3 times. I was approaching a traffic light about 200 yards away, and it was changing to yellow. I was in the left lane of a 3-lane small highway, there was a left turn lane, then my lane and the right lane. Someone started standing on their brakes in front of me, I looked into my rear-view and saw that someone was approaching me quickly, so I looked to my right and saw that I could accelerate and avoid getting rear-ended by pulling forward and in front of a car coming up in the right lane. This evasive maneuver is one that I've done many times to avoid being rear-ended. I've been rear-ended twice. Both times it took a while to recover from, and I was much younger then. So, I'd rather try to avoid a collision than have to be in pain for several years. My stupid pre-collision breaking hammered on my brakes so hard I was shocked my air-bag wasn't activated. It grab me so hard that I ended up with bruising on my shoulder from the seat belt. Also, I couldn't get it to go or move very much at all. It was almost like the brakes wouldn't let me override the braking system. I even wrote to Subaru only to be told, sorry, that's too bad or something similar. I was shattered that my fairly new car (the first time was in 2016 and the second time was in 2017) was trying to hurt me. Then it happened to my husband right after he bought his new Subaru Outback, so, needless to say, we are still Subie fans, but not always super happy with them, especially the electronics systems and how they work, or sometimes don't work.

July 31, 2021I noted an approximately 6-inch unprovoked crack originating at the outer edge in the windshield on the passenger side. The beginning of September I went to Subaru City, Milwaukee, WI and pictures were taken by the assistant manager, Eric and sent to Subaru. I returned November 23rd after no follow up to find out "more pictures were needed" per the assistant manager. Again, no follow up so I returned January 19th, and had yet more pictures taken by another employee, [XXX] because they couldn't locate them. I received a call back the next day to confirm submission. After no response to about 10 phone calls to the assistant service manager again, I returned March 7th and was told by another employee, [XXX], there was a new database and couldn't find the pictures. Then was called back and told not under warranty despite requesting repair due to industry defect in the windshields with eyesight. The crack has extended to about 12" from the driver's side edge. I'm concerned about the integrity of the windshield should there be an impact and the eyesight isn't reliable with this crack. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY THE SEATBACK EMITTED A LOUD "BANG" SOUND. IT THEN LOST ALL SUPPORT AND STRUCTURE, FORCING ME TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MAINTAIN AN UPRIGHT POSITION. AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE I WAS NOT ADJUSTING ANY ELEMENT OF THE SEATBACK -- I'M ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE WHO SET IT ONCE WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR AND HASN'T TOUCHED THE ADJUSTMENTS SINCE THEN. I BROUGHT IT TO MY LOCAL SUBARU DEALERSHIP, AND THEY STATED THAT THE SEAT FRAME BROKE INTERNALLY AND THE ENTIRE SEAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. IT WAS PURE LUCK THAT IT OCCURRED AT A MOMENT WHERE I WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE DESPITE SUDDENLY FALLING BACKWARDS.

I PURCHASED A CERTIFIED PREOWNED 2015 FORESTER IN NOVEMBER FROM NORTHTOWN SUBARU IN AMHERST, NY IN NOVEMBER 2017. I WAS SOLD A BASIC MODEL AND ASSURED THAT THE REMOTE CAR STARTER AND HEATED SEAT THAT THEY COULD INSTALL AT THE DEALERSHIP WERE AS GOOD AS THE ONES INCLUDED IN MORE EXPENSIVE FORESTER MODELS. SAFETY ISSUE: ON WEDNESDAY 3/28/18 I WAS DRIVING IN THE CITY OF BUFFALO WITH MY HEATED SEAT TURNED ON. THE BACK OF MY LEG, RIGHT BELOW MY KNEE BECAME INTOLERABLY HOT. I TURNED THE HEATED SEAT OFF IMMEDIATELY AND REACHED DOWN. THE SEAT INSTANTLY BURNT TWO OF MY FINGER TIPS. I SHOUTED IN PAIN AND EXPLAINED TO MY FRIEND WHAT HAPPENED. HE SAID HE SMELLED SMOKE AND BURNING PLASTIC. I WAS PASSED TO VOICEMAIL BOXES THAT WERE FULL AND PUT ON HOLD FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME. I EXPLAINED TO EVERYONE I SPOKE TO THE SEVERITY OF THE ISSUE. I WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE IN THE SMART CAR DEPARTMENT BUT THEIR VOICEMAIL BOXES WERE FULL. THE SERVICE REP WOULD LEAVE A NOTE ON THE SMART CAR EMPLOYEE'S DESK AND HAVE HIM CALL ME IMMEDIATELY. THIS WAS AT 9:30 AND BY 2 I HAD NOT HEARD BACK. I CALLED THE SALES PERSON WHO SOLD ME THE CAR AND HE SAID HE WOULD HAVE HIS MANAGER CALL ME IMMEDIATELY. I FINALLY HEARD BACK AT 3 AND WAS TOLD THAT I SHOULD DROP OFF MY CAR MONDAY MORNING AND THEY WOULD 'MAKE IT RIGHT.' LOSS OF ENGINE POWER/ACCELERATION. TRAVELING HOME IN OUR 2015 FORESTER, VIN [XXX], 93K MILES, WHEN WE ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM. ON THE INTERSTATE, TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 70MPH, OUR FORESTER SEEMED TO COME OUT OF GEAR, ALL THE DASH LIGHTS ILLUMINATED & THE GAS PEDAL WOULD NOT WORK AS FAR AS ACTUALLY ACCELERATING THE CAR (THE GAS PEDAL WOULD ?REV UP? WHEN PRESSED, BUT THERE WAS NO ACTUAL ACCELERATION HAPPENING WITH THE ENGINE). THERE WAS NO WARNING; NO ENGINE ISSUES; NO WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH PRIOR TO THIS EVENT. WE WERE LUCKILY ABLE TO PULL SAFELY OFF THE INTERSTATE. WE DID SHUT THE CAR OFF IN HOPES OF ?RESETTING? SOMETHING BUT COULD NOT GET THE CAR TO RESTART (IT WOULD JUST CRANK). THEREFORE, WE HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED IN THE PAST YEAR ON THIS VEHICLE. WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO OUR TRUSTED LOCAL MECHANIC. TWO TIMES, WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 65 MPH, MY CAR LOST THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. IT WAS AS THOUGH THE CAR SLIPPED INTO NEUTRAL. I PUSHED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND THE RPM'S WOULD INCREASE, BUT THE CAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE. IT SIMPLY SLOWED DOWN. BOTH TIMES THE HIGHWAY WAS EMPTY ENOUGH THAT I WAS ABLE TO DRIFT INTO THE SHOULDER. ONCE I PULLED OVER, I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND WAITED A FEW MINUTES. WHEN I TURNED IT BACK ON, THE CAR STARTED AND ACCELERATION WORKED AS NORMAL. BOTH TIMES I BROUGHT IT TO A LOCAL SUBARU DEALERSHIP, AND AFTER RUNNING SOME TESTS SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND ANY ISSUES, AND COULDN'T HELP ME ANY FURTHER. AFTER I SLOW DOWN TO TURN A CORNER THIS CAR OCCASIONALLY PAUSES, OR WILL NOT RESUME MOVING FOR A FEW SECONDS WHEN I STEP ON THE GAS. CAR STALLED WHILE DRIVING, WITH NO LIGHTS LIT UP ON THE DASHBOARD. HAPPENED TWICE, ONCE AT 5 MPH AND AGAIN AT 25 MPH. THE TWO TIMES IT HAPPENED WERE ABOUT THREE MINUTES APART THIS MORNING. I BOUGHT THE CAR A MONTH AGO AROUND MARCH 10,2018 FROM GLANZMANN SUBARU. AFTER 2 WEEKS OF DRIVING, THE CAR WAS SHAKING AND HAD TROUBLE ACCELERATING INTERMITTENTLY WHEN AT STOP SIGNS OR AT LOW SPEEDS. AFTER WORDS I NOTICED WHEN THE CAR IS AROUND 80 MPH, SOMETIMES THE RPMS GO UP BUT THERE IS NO TORQUE. I WAS TOLD TO DROP THE CAR OFF AT THE SERVICE STATION WHICH I DID AND AFTER 4 DAYS GOT THE CAR BACK BUT THEY SAID THEY "COULD NOT REPLICATE" THE ISSUE THAT I WAS HAVING. I ALSO GET 18MPG WHILE THE ADVERTISED MPG IS AROUND 25. I SHOULD ATLEAST GET 22MPG. I HAVE A VERY GOOD FEELING I WAS SOLD A CAR WITH A CLUTCH THAT WAS ON ITS WAY OUT. THE DEALER IS NOT ACKNOWLEDGING THE ISSUE BUT I WAS ABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE ON MY WAY FROM THE SERVICE CENTER. THE LAST TIME I COULD NOT GET IT OUT OF THE PARK I WENT BEHIND THE BRAKE PEDAL AND MOVE THE BRAKE SWITCH AND PRESSED THE CONNECTION ON TOP IN. MY 2015 FORESTER STALLED WHILE DRIVING IN THE MIDDLE LANE ON THE NJ PARKWAY (GOING ABOUT 65-70MPH.) THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS OR ANY INDICATIONS THAT THIS WOULD HAPPEN. I HAD ABOUT 3/4 OF A TANK OF GAS LEFT. WHEN THE CAR STALLED, IT FELT LIKE IT DOWNSHIFTED AND THEN COMPLETELY STOPPED - ALMOST AS IF WE RAN OUT OF GAS (BUT WE DIDN'T). THE ELECTRIC (LIGHTS, RADIO, HEAT) WAS ON THE WHOLE TIME. WE WERE STALLED FOR ABOUT 15-20 MINUTES UNTIL THE COPS CAME. WE PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND THEY BUMPED US TO THE SHOULDER. WHILE WAITING FOR A TOW TRUCK, WE TRIED TO START THE CAR AGAIN AND IT WORKED (ABOUT 30 MINUTES AFTER THE INITIAL STALL.) WE THEN DROVE TO THE NEARBY GAS STATION AND FILLED UP THE CAR; IT TOOK 12 GALLONS OF GAS AND I HAVE THE RECEIPT. THE SUBARU SERVICE CENTER CANNOT FIND THE ISSUE. THEY SAID THE COMPUTER ISN'T EVEN SHOWING A STALL CODE. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A FATAL ACCIDENT AND I WANT TO KNOW EXACTLY WHAT IS WRONG AND KNOW IT IS FIXED BEFORE I DRIVE IT AGAIN. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHERE THE WHEEL LUGS HAVE SNAPPED WHILE THE WHEELS WERE REMOVED FOR TIRE REPLACEMENT, ROTATION AND REPLACEMENT OF BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS. I HAVE ALSO HAD THE BRAKE CALIPER RETAINER BOLTS SNAP WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION SO THAT THE REAR BRAKES ON THE VEHICLE WERE NEXT TO INOPERABLE AS ONLY A PORTION OF THE BRAKE PAD CAME IN CONTACT WITH THE ROTOR. THE DEALER DID NOT MAKE ANY ATTEMPT TO RESOLVE OR REPAIR THE BRAKE ROTORS OR PADS UNDER WARRANTY WHEN THIS HAPPENED. WHAT MADE IT MORE OF AN ISSUE WAS THE THE LOCAL DEALER DIDNT HAVE THESE PARTS ON HAND AND GAVE ME THE SPECS FOR THE BOLT TO PURCHASE FROM THE LOCAL HARDWARE STORE. THESE NEW BOLTS HAVE HELD.

AS WELL, WHEN THIS OCCURS THE BRAKING SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK. OTHER READS SOUND LIKE A FAULTY BRAKE LIGHT SENSOR OR SENSING SYSTEM, BUT THIS IS A POTENTIALLY FATAL MALFUNCTION AS ONE TRAVELING 60 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY WAS SUDDENLY STOPPED WITH NO WARNING. THEN WHEN TRYING TO GET TO SAFETY, THE BRAKES WOULD NOT WORK WHILE ATTEMPTING TO COME TO A STOP AT A LIGHT. THE VEHICLE SEEMS TO "RESET" AND BE FINE FOR A FEW MILES, ONLY TO EITHER GO TO THE ALL LIGHTS ON SYSTEM (ABS/HILL ASSIST/STABILITY CONTROL) OR GO INTO THE BRAKING/CVT ERROR AS WELL. WHILE FINALIZING PARKING WITHIN A PARKING LOT SPACE AT VERY LOW SPEED (LAST 2 FEET) WITH FOOT ON BRAKE, THE ENGINE SUDDENLY REVVED AND THE CAR ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING AND STRUCK THE PARKED CAR ON THE OPPOSITE PARKING SPACE. BOTH CARS SUSTAINED MODERATE FRONT-END DAMAGE. THE OTHER CAR WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN AWAY BUT OURS HAD FRONT FENDER PARTS PUSHED INTO THE FRONT DRIVERS TIRE AND HAD TO BE TOWED AWAY TO THE REPAIR SHOP. NOT SURE OF THE COST TO REPAIR THE OTHER (PARKED) CAR BUT OURS RAN APPROXIMATELY $5000 DUE TO FRONT FRAME DAMAGE. NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED, NO ONE WAS INJURED. POLICE OFFICER WHO RESPONDED SAID LOW SPEED IMPACTS DO NOT NORMALLY SET OFF THE AIR BAGS. REPAIR SHOP SAID THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO TELL ON THE CAR COMPUTER WHAT THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION WAS DUE TO. CONTACTED OUR INSURANCE AGENT WHO RECOMMENDED WE REPORT THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION TO SUBARU AND NHTSA. SUBARU DEALER DENIED ANY SUCH ACCELERATIONS AND SAID THERE WAS NO RECOURSE. FOUND SEVERAL INSTANCES VERY SIMILAR TO OUR ON NHTSA SITE FOR SUBARU FORESTERS IN 2014 AND 2015 MODEL YEARS AND DECIDED TO MAKE A REPORT. ODOMETER READING AT TIME OF ACCIDENT: 5,814.

The Vehicle was sold to me by a local dealership not SUBARU Manufacturer themselves with the conditions marked above and more, the wheels when purchased as i turned any corners it would sound like the underside of the vehicle would explode even when driving straight it was just less frequent and caused the ABS system to activate and would pull one way or another. the Transmission has never been inspected by the dealership that sold it to me and the manufacturer seal was broken so it had leaked and caused major lack of power resulting in many close calls due to lose of forward propulsion it is a closed transmission without a dip stick and the dealership refused to do anything about it. the Airbag system has never worked at all and the dealership knew this and same with the Reverse hazard warning detection system or the TPMS and again i was told that i just needed to drive it and it would work itself out by the owner of the dealership who test drove it 3 times and refused to do anything about the obvious issues and now it has been a little over a year i’m in debt and basically out of a vehicle and can man as well as personal money sunk into this vehicle that I would consider beyond a lemon

The vehicle is a 2015 Subaru Forester. At that time, the car had 47800 miles on it. I started to sense a shaking or vibration on the steering wheel, especially at highway speeds. I took it to a local Subaru dealer and the dealer technician found the lower control arm bushings to be work/torn. I have been driving for over 40 years and have never had to have the bushings replaced in any of my (Toyota) cars, especially at 47800 miles. I bought the car new. I live in the city and do not do any off road driving. I bought the car because of the Eyesight safety system. I didn't realize Subaru's quality was not at the same level as Toyota. According to J.D. Power, "The bushings prevent metal-to-metal contact (friction) hence safeguarding the metal joints." and "Driving around with worn-out bushings can pose a threat to the driver and other road users. Worn-out bushings may also cause damage to the vehicle when its components snap." (website: [XXX] ) I believe it may be a "lemon". I have had to take it to the dealership regarding the transmission problem of hesitation on acceleration. The technician tested it and (of course) found nothing wrong. The service advisor did inform me, over the phone, that the technician experienced the issue during testing. Subaru denied my request for reimbursement of the defective battery. They indicated that I was not eligible for reimbursement because I did not pay the dealership to replace the battery. I had bought an Interstate battery at Costco and replaced it myself. A small crack appeared mysteriously on the front windshield and has spread - over the past month - where it now covers 1/2 of the windshield. Nothing hit my car, to create the crack or make it spread. The right air bag light keeps going on and keeps beeping when there is no one sitting in the seat. The only way i can get it to stop is to engage the seat belt - again, even though there is no one in the seat.

Vehicle accelerated from a stop sign at high speed and brakes were pushed down all the way with no respond the steering wheels was stiff and the Vehicle continued at high speed on its own crashing curbs side walk vegetation along the way until final crash at a tree. not warning lamps messages and air bag did not deploy. Car engine remained on at time of crash until manually turned off. safety of driver & passenger and others near by were at very high risk. Head on collision with other vehicles and homes could have happened. Insurance adjuster inspected and determined it is a "Total Lose" but did not gave reason for incident. police report was done and suggested to follow up with dealership. Emailed about this incident to Subaru dealership. Unknown if any additional inspection was done.

The contact owned a 2015 Subaru Forester. The contact stated while driving 70-75 MPH, the vehicle started losing motive power. The engine revved and made an abnormally loud sound. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact engaged the hazard lights and veered to the side of the road. The vehicle then lost motive power and stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after several attempts. The contact was able to continue driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the failure could not be duplicated; however, the dealer advised that the failure could be caused by condensation and moisture in the fuel lines. The contact stated that the failure recurred while driving. The vehicle failed to start and was towed to a second dealer West Herr Subaru (3559 Southwestern Blvd, Orchard Park, NY 14127). The dealer informed the contact that they had test-driven the vehicle for 80 miles; however, the mechanic could not duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and offered the contact a coupon for the purchase of another vehicle; however, the contact declined and traded the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

I have continually had the SRS airbag tell me that is not registering someone in the front seat as it turns off when someone is in the front seat. This has been reported to Subaru however they refuse to do anything about it as they say because I purchased it in 2014 it isn't covered under the recall due to the fact I have the same symptoms as the recall along with the heated seats. Also my original engine had 170k miles on it in July 2021 and blew a head gasket. I have purchased another used engine and this one only had 73k miles on it when it was put in and now at 117k miles on this engine I have another blown head gasket with less than 50k miles on the second engine. Something needs to be done as I am tired of replacing the same issue. I am a first time owner of a Subaru and a 1 owner I bought it brand new with 3 miles on the Subaru Forester.

Unknown origin. Airbag issues started in September October 2022. 2015 Subaru Forester. Vehicle with Heated Seats similar to open recall. Warning notice display as to Airbag dysfunction. Airbag determined to not function by Dealer. But informed not within the specific airbag recall affecting other same era (2015) Foresters now under recall altho symptomatically the same issues as other Vehicles subject to recall. Quoted up to $2000 to fix the Vehicle. Subsequently, the driver side warning assistance sensors have stopped working on the Vehicle. Because the VIN # does not fit within the recall matching system, Subaru could not replace the airbag without payment. Even after offering some payment accommodation on the part, Subaru wanted $1000 or so to repair and could not give a final estimate in advance. This Vehicle has less than 40,000 miles on it.

First Issue: Wheel lug studs and nuts have failed on two separate occasions. Second Issue: The C/S brake, hill assist and traction control emergency lights went on and off and usually stayed on after the lights went on. The O2 Oxygen sensor was replaced. Then after this didn't fix the problem with the emergency lights coming on, the hydraulic unit module was replaced. This fixed the problem.

While driving 45mph on an icy road (approximately 25 degree(F) outside temp) the car suddenly lost power as if the CVT transmission was in neutral. However, it was still in drive. Pressing the accelerator only raised the RPMs but no power was sent to the wheels. There were cars behind me and my car was slowing down due to no power. I was fortunately able to pull off to the side of the road, stop, put in park. I put back into drive, power returned, and car drove normally for the remaining ~10miles of my trip. No warning lights from vehicle occurred during this event. This sudden loss of power could have been very dangerous especially given the road conditions. If drivers behind me were not following at a safe distance the sudden reduction in speed could have caused an accident due to the icy roads. I have not yet taken the car to be inspected, but will do so as soon as possible.

I parked my car in the Walgreens parking lot while shopping, less than 30 minutes. When I returned, the car would not start. I called AAA for what I thought was a battery jump. When the AAA technician arrived, checked the battery and said his equipment said to replace the battery. After several attempts he was able to finally get the car started. I drove my car to the dealer where I had just had the battery and terminal replaced five months earlier. The service person checked the battery and charged it for more than an hour after having me call a Subaru warranty line and tell them how many times the battery had to be jumped - once. Yesterday, 12/6/2022 I was attempting to leave my home to take my husband to a cancer treatment clinic for an appointment and the car would not start. I called the Subaru technician who told me to bring the car in before 5 pm, which I could not do. Today, 12/07/2022, after several attempts I was able to start the car and take it to the service center. The technician could not find evidence of the battery purchase June 22, 2022. I showed him my paid receipt and he was able to locate the purchase. He told me the service manager wanted him to test the battery before doing anything. This is my only vehicle and I can’t keep going back and forth to the repair center whenever the new battery and connector , still under warranty, do not work. Today the technician told me the recall for coil replacement needed to be done. I was told it was done in June, but the service center has no evidence in their system that it was done. I never received any notice from Subaru that it was recalled.

My Vehicle's horn stop working about six months ago, not long after I had to replace the battery. I took it to dealership and they had to replace the clock spring , roll connector. I use the horn only when absolutely necessary. I have never had a cars horn go out. I think they ought to last at least ten years if not longer. Is this a defect? I just wanted to let you know.

I have a crack running across the bottom of my windshield. I took the car to SafeLite for replacement. They do a pre-service check of the EyeSsight camera system which provides forward collision avoidance and lane departure warning. The scan revealed History Code P00FF and a Current Code B280AA8. The SafeLite technician advised they could not replace the windshield until the codes were removed. Then they could replace the windshield and calibrate the EyeSight system. They also stated I had to go to a dealer code removal. I contacted Brunswick Subaru (dealer where I purchased the vehicle) and they stated they could only calibrate after the windshield was replaced. Another dealer (Ganley Subaru) stated the same thing. PROBLEM - the windshield cannot be replaced with the codes and the dealer cannot remove the codes (by recalibration) until the windshield is replaced. I am left with driving the car with a broken windshield. PLEASE HELP

On Wednesday November 10 I was arriving at Chase Bank 4229 Woodruff Ave Lakewood Ca. I was turning right into a parking stall heading due east, parking between a pickup truck to the right and a passenger car to the left. I was braking with my right foot only traveling 5 miles per hour and suddenly the car accelerated over a parking stop and into the bank building. It was so sudden I couldn't react and pull up the parking brake. The collision caused major front end damage to my 2015 Subaru Forrester XT. It also caused damage to the Chase Bank building. I was lucky to be a couple of parking spaces south of the ready teller , as there was a male white customer at the outside teller and he would of been killed or at least very severely injured. My wife selected this car new in 2015 because of the safety of it.

At about 101,000 miles I took the car in to the dealership where I bought it for another issue. When the tech got it up on his lift he came in and notified the service manager that there was bubbles on my brake line. The service manager came to us and she said “I really shouldn’t let you drive out of here with those bubbles because I would be an unsafe condition”, the implication was that if they burst I would have no brakes. The road salt on the roads in the winter in Vermont was indicated as the cause of the problem. They installed all new brake lines behind the cabin. I had asked them to save a section of the brake lines showing the bubbles and that DID NOT happen. I do much of my own maintenance and to have steel brake lines bubble it’s hard to understand. Maybe the hose between the end of the steel brake line and the wheel could bubble but having the brake line bubble is nightmarish.The safety concern is if other Subarus in salty climates have that problem and the owner is not aware of it, the brakes are liable to fail. Scary. As to the engine, since the car was a new, putting pressure on the accelerator caused the car to lurch, Irritating and dangerous in tight settings. Notified the dealership on the day we got it and when mentioned, nothing could be done for the 5 years since it was new.

1) OIL CONSUMPTION. My 2015 Subaru was purchased used in 2017 with approx 56k on engine. From the first oil change I had done one month later the car’s computer would say that the oil level was low. I would check the dip and it would be at least a quart low. From that point on the car would burn oil that I would keep the 5 gallon oil container in my car. 2) My Subaru is and has been driven consistently until one week I did not use it for a few days not more than 3. The battery completely drained water and all. Filled the battery with appropriate water and trickle charged it for about 5 days. I then was able to jump start the car just to drive to the auto parts store to buy a new one. Noticed the signal lights would not work but the car was driving fine. I thought it may be a fuse so I pulled the proper fuse out and replaced it with the proper fuse. I started the car and every single light on the dash board lit up. Oil temp, check engine light, the up hill etc. I drove the car back home from the auto parts store and it was jerking, revving, stumbling all over the place. Nearly drove into the car in front of me and just about made it home without it stalling. I was scheduled to have two recalls fixed but I had to have my insurance company tow it to the dealer. They said it could be a number of things. I paid them 149 to do a diagnostics check but said they needed an additional 500 to do a thorough check and it would not go towards any fix of any issue. He printed me a list of items that needed to be done but none would fix that issue. He said maybe the wire harness but not sure. I was just basically screwed. So I have a 2015 Subaru Forester that I have no idea what is wrong with the engine. 3) seat belt warning on the passenger side will not stop alerting to fasten seat belts even though no one is in the seat. I have to keep it buckled at all times. I have notified the dealer the day the recalls were done but he said he didn’t know why it was doing that.

WHILE TAKING GROCERIES OUT OF BACK SEAT, I FOUND A 14MM SHINY NUT ON BACK FLOOR, LEFT BACK SIDE OF FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. IT FELL OFF THE BOLT HOLDING THE FRONT PASSENGER SAFETY BELT RETAINER (PART YOU CLICK BUCKLE INTO). AFTER PUTTING IT BACK ON, AND TORQUING THE HECK OUT OF IT, I FOUND THAT THE TWO BOLTS HOLDING FRONT PASSENGER SEAT DOWN, WERE LOOSE AND STANDING ABOUT 0.75" ABOVE BRACKET SURFACE. I ALSO TORQUED THOSE DOWN TO AVOID SEAT BECOMING LOOSE. I THEN CHECKED ALL OTHER BOLTS FOR FRONT SEATS AND FOUND NO PROBLEM. WE WERE VERY LUCKY TO HAVE HAD THE SEAT BELT NUT FALL WHERE IT DID, OR MY WIFE COULD HAVE BEEN HURT.

THIS CAR WAS REPAIRED UNDER CAMPAIGN 19V149000 ON JULY 27 FOR THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH ISSUE. SINCE THE REPAIR OF THE RECALL, I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR BACK TO INTERNATIONAL SUBARU IN TINLEY PARK, IL FOR FOLLOW UP SERVICE RELATED TO THE REPLACEMENT PART. THE PROBLEM I'VE ENCOUNTERED ON A NUMBER OF OCCASIONS IS THE CAR ALERTS THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE STATING "HILL START ASSIST SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE CHECKED" WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION. THE CAR THEN CUTS ALL THROTTLE CAPABILITIES FOR APPROXIMATELY 5 SECONDS AND THE CAR JUST COASTS BEFORE RESUMING TAKING A THROTTLE INPUT. WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE CAR IS JUST COASTING AND DROPS 15+ MPH IN SPEED. THIS ALERT SEEMS TO BE TRIGGERED RANDOMLY AND IT CAUSES SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERNS WHEN WITHOUT WARNING MY CAR SUDDENLY LOSES ANY USAGE OF THE THROTTLE. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN TRACED BACK TO THE PART REPLACED IN THE RECALL AND THE DEALER FOUND THE RECORDS IN THE CAR'S COMPUTER SHOWING THE SWITCH WAS ACTIVE WHEN IT WASN'T BEING PRESSED. THIS ISSUE FIRST SURFACED ON 8/31/20 BUT HAS COME BACK NUMEROUS TIMES SINCE THEN. FURTHERMORE, I HAD ISSUES WHERE THE BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ON ON THE CAR OVERNIGHT WITH THE SWITCH ACTIVE WITH NO INPUT CAUSING A DRAINED BATTERY. THIS IS A MORE SERIOUS ISSUE THAN JUST LIGHTS BECAUSE THE CAR'S THROTTLE CUTS OUT WITHOUT WARNING AND THIS HAS BEEN TRACED BACK TO THE SWITCH ON MY CAR. I WOULD RATHER HAVE THE ORIGINAL RECALLED PART REPLACED IN MY CAR COMPARED TO THE RECALL REPLACEMENT PART.

AT 38K EXCESSIVE VIBRATION AND NOISE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WAS NOTICED. DEALER REPLACED BOTH OF THE FRONT LOWER CONTROL ARM BUSHINGS. AT 42K THE FRONT RIGHT WHEEL BEARING WENT BAD AND WAS REPLACED. PROBABLY CAUSED BY THE BAD CONTROL ARM BUSHINGS. AT 44K THE CONTROL ARM BUSHINGS WERE BAD AGAIN. THIS CAUSED A SEVERE LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE CAR IN SLICK CONDITIONS. THIS TIME THE DEALER REPLACED BOTH OF THE CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLIES. THIS IS A REAL PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE. TIME FOR A RECALL.

IT COSTS ME $1390 TO FIX IT AND I DROVE IT ON THE HIGHWAY AND IT STILL WOBBLY. SUBARU DOES NOT WANT TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE FACT THERE IS A MAJOR ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED BY SUBARU WHEN THEY KNEW ABOUT THIS. THIS CAR ALSO HAD ROTORS THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, THE ARM CONTROL, WHEEL BEARINGS ALL UNDER 60,000. I WAS TRAPPED INSIDE MY VEHICLE WHEN THE BATTERY DIED. WHILE SITTING IN MY CAR USING THE ACCESSORIES TO CHARGE MY PHONE, THE CAR BATTERY DIED AND I WAS UNABLE TO UNLOCK THE DOORS TO GET OUT. THE KEY FOB DID NOT WORK EITHER. THERE IS NO INSIDE HANDLE ON THE REAR HATCH. THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS FLICKERED A COUPLE TIMES AND AFTER ABOUT THREE MINUTES THE DOOR DID UNLOCK. WHEN GEAR SHIFT WAS PLACED IN DRIVE THE CAR LURCHED FORWARD 50 FEET AND DROVE THRU AN ALUMINUM RAIL AND MESH OVER HEAD ELECTRIC ACTIVATED DOOR. AT 81 MORE FEET THE CAR HIT A 4 X 4 STEEL COLUMN HOLDING UP TWO 27 FOOT STEEL BEAMS OF A CARPORT ROOF STRUCTURE AND COLLAPSED THE COLUMN. THE SOUTHERLY BEAM FELL ON TOP OF THE CAR AND PULLED THE NORTHERLY BEAM WITH IT. THE CAR CONTINUED FORWARD 9 FEET STRIKING THE FIRST PARKED CAR IN THE REAR QUARTER. THE CAR CONTINUED ABOUT 4 FEET MORE AND STRUCK A SECOND PARKED CAR IN ITS HIND QUARTER AND PUSHED IT UNTIL IT WAS AGAINST THE NEXT CARPORT SUPPORT COLUMN. THE CAR TRAVELED ABOUT 145 FEET NOT UNDER THE CONTROL OF THE DRIVER. IN AUGUST OF 2015 MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE. ALL DASH LIGHTS CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE BECAME INOPERABLE AS A RESULT. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS SHE WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. HOWEVER, AFTER ABOUT 150 FT ALL WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AGAIN SAYING THAT IS WAS DISABLING SEVERAL SAFETY FEATURES (ABS, EYESIGHT, HILL ASSIST, ETC.). SHE AGAIN PULLED OVER, AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RE-START (FLAT-OUT WOULD NOT COME ON, THE POWER WOULD COME ON BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START [HAS A KEY LESS IGNITION SYSTEM]). SHE CALLED ROAD SIDE ASSIST AND THEY CAME TO TRY AND HELP HER WITH THE CAR. THEY WERE ABLE TO GET IT STARTED AND SHE DROVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY TOOK THE VEHICLE IN AND LOOKED AT IT. THEIR SERVICING NOTES INDICATE THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE, HOWEVER, WHILE MY WIFE WAS THERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO START THE VEHICLE AS WELL. IN REVIEW OF THESE NOTES THEY INDICATE THE FOLLOWING ERROR CODES WERE PRESENT P1531 AND B2809 AND THEY ALSO REPLACED THE FOLLOWING PART [83311FJ000]. ON JUNE 25, 2017, THE PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN WHILE DRIVING. ALL SAFETY FEATURES DISABLED, ALL SYSTEMS SHUT-OFF. ONCE I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF I WAS UNABLE TO START IT AGAIN. IT SEEMED AS IF I WAS UNABLE TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL FAR ENOUGH TO TRIGGER THE KEYLESS START FEATURE. SO, THE VEHICLE WAS UNUSABLE AND UNSAFE. I CONTACTED SUBARU AND THEY HAVE TOWED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AS ALL ATTEMPTS TO START THE VEHICLE HAVE FAILED (ALL POWER WORKS, BUT NO START AND ALL SAFETY FEATURES INDICATE THEY ARE DISABLED). I SPOKE WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND EXPRESSED ALL OF THESE CONCERNS AS WELL AS SEVERAL OTHERS. THE VEHICLE IS AT THE DEALERSHIP AT THIS TIME. IN ALL INSTANCES WHEN THE VEHICLE HAD ISSUES WE WERE EITHER DRIVING ON A CITY STREET, A LOCAL HIGHWAY, OR UNABLE TO START THE VEHICLE DUE TO THESE PROBLEMS. LESS THEN 4 DAYS LAYER, WHILE ON MY MORNING COMMUTE TO WORK, THE SAME PROBLEMS WHICH HAD PLAGUED THE CAR STARTED TO OCCUR, HOWEVER THIS TIME, I HEARD A LOUD POP/BANG AND SMOKE FILLED THE CABIN OF THE CAR. MOST RECENT NEAR-MISS FATAL INCIDENT HAPPENED ON NOV.6, 2016 DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT THE SPEED OF ABOUT 65- 68 MILES , CAR SUDDENLY DIED, AND STOPPED COMPLETELY WITHOUT ANY WARNING SIGNS AND WARNING LIGHTS, IT FELT LIKE CAR SUDDENLY LOST THE POWER AND COMPLETELY STOPPED. IF YOU STOP AND PUT IT IN PARK THEN IT WILL NOT COME OUT OF PARK UNLESS OVER RIDDEN. I CALLED IN TO SUBARU AND THEY SAID "2015 SUBARU FORESTER RIGHT? IT PROBABLY HAS A BAD BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH OR BRAKE LIGHT SENSOR, WHICH MEANS YOUR BRAKES WILL NOT LIGHT UP WHILE DRIVING. THIS SEEMS TO BE A KNOWN ISSUE TO SUBARU AS I HAVE SEEN MANY EXAMPLES OF THIS HAPPENING TO OTHER PEOPLE ON SUBARU BOARDS. THE DEALERS FROM 2 DIFFERENT LOCATIONS HAVE SAID THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. WE ARE GOING TO TAKE IT BACK THIS WEEK, IT HAPPENED AGAIN TODAY ON THE HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH. ENGINE FEELS LIKE IT SHUTS OFF, CARS TRAVELING ALONG SIDE AND BEHIND HAD TO SKID THE BRAKES TO STOP. THIS HAS BECOME A LIFE OR DEATH SITUATION. WE DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE CAR. WITHIN THE LAST YEAR, I HAVE EXPERIENCED ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS, INSTANCES WHERE THE WARNING LIGHTS FOR VARIOUS SAFETY SYSTEMS ON MY 2015 SUBARU FORESTER WILL COME ON, INDICATING THAT THE SYSTEM HAS BEEN DISABLED DUE TO A MALFUNCTION. THESE LIGHTS ALWAYS COME ON WHILE DRIVING, WITHIN 15 MINUTES OF THE CAR BEING STARTED. THE FIRST TWO INSTANCES RELATED TO MY AIR BAGS BEING TURNED OFF. WHEN BROUGHT TO A DEALERSHIP, THEY HAD NO EXPLANATION, AND DESIRED $70 TO DO AN ELECTRICAL ASSESSMENT. WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN FOR THAT, I WAS TOLD THAT THE CAR WOULD HAVE TO BE DISPLAYING THE LIGHT AT THE TIME I BROUGHT IT IN, WHICH THE INDICATOR LIGHT HAD TURNED OFF IN BETWEEN VISITS. TODAY, MY ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, AND INCLINE ASSUSTANCE LIGHTS CAME ON , INDICATING THAT THOSE SYSTEMS WERE DISABLED DUE TO A MALFUNCTION. I BROUGHT IT TO MY DEALER, WHO TOLD ME THAT THE AIR PRESSURE IN THE TIRES WAS RESPONSIBLE, WHICH RANGED FROM 28LBS TO 35 LBS. I HAD MY CAR SERVICED AT SAID DEALERSHIP 2 MONTHS AGO AND THE PRESSURE WAS 35 LBS EACH. IT WAS SUGGESTED TO ME THAT THE CAUSE OF THIS DISCREPANCY WAS "PARKING MY CAR IN THE SUN." BOTH COMPUTER-RELATED PROBLEMS APPARENTLY DIDN'T LEAVE A CODE TO BE READ, ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP. ANY INFORMATION WAS WIPED WHEN THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF.

PRIOR TO THIS CRASH, THE LANE DEPARTURE AND AUTO BREAKING LIGHTS WERE FLASHING ON AND OFF. I WAS GOING TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE DEALER HOWEVER, THE CRASH PREVENTED THAT. THE CAR WAS REPAIRED AND TAKEN TO THE SUBARU DEALER WHERE PURCHASED, AND THEY EXAMINED THE CAR AND SAID IT WAS WORKING PROPERLY. SINCE THEN, MY SCREEN DATE WAS SET AND THEN REVERTED BACK TO FEB 4, 2010. ALSO, THE LANE DEPARTURE AND AUTO BRAKING LIGHTS HAVE TURNED OFF WHILE DRIVING TWICE SINCE GETTING THE CAR BACK. ADDITIONALLY, THE SCREEN NOW DISPLAYS ADDITIONAL MESSAGES THAT IT HADN'T IN THE PAST, SUCH AS VEHICLE AHEAD HAS MOVED, AND ROAD CONDITIONS MIGHT BE ICY. THE LATTER SHOULD HAVE SHOWN UP PRIOR TO THIS ACCIDENT, LIVING IN THE SNOW BELT OF NE OHIO. HAS THERE BEEN ANY "SILENT RECALLS" PLACED ON THIS CAR SINCE 2010 REGARDING THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION ISSUES THAT HAVE NOT RECEIVED A FORMAL RECALL ON, RATHER THAT SUBARU HAS ISSUED THIS INFORMATION TO IT'S TECHS ONLY? I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS GAS PEDAL ISSUE HAS BEEN DISMISSED DUE TO WEATHER MATS, DRIVERS AGE OR DRIVER'S FOOT MISSING THE CORRECT PEDAL. WHEN THE CAR WAS TORN APART, THE MAIN PULLY HAD A 1" DING AND THE FAN BELT WAS KNOCKED OFF THE MAIN PULLY AND PARTICALLY OF THE 2ND PULLY. THE BELT WAS ON ALL THE OTHER PULLIES.. I BELIEVE THE TRACTION DEVICE MALFUNCTIONED WHEN I WAS IN CRUISE CONTROL, THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL HYDROPLANED. AND THE BRAKE WAS APPLIED SENDING ME INTO A OUT OF CONTROL CRASH, THAT I COULD NOT STEER OUT OF. SUBARU OF AMERICA SAID WET PAYMENT, HIGH SPEED AND EXCESSIVE WEAR ON REAR TIRES CAUSED THE ACCIDENT. THIS MODEL VEHICLE HAS A SAFETY DEFECT. THE SPEEDOMETER IS LOCATED UNDER A VISOR WHICH LIMITS THE AMOUNT OF LIGHT FALLING ON THE INSTRUMENT, AND THE INSTRUMENT PANEL DOES NOT HAVE ANY BACK LIGHTING UNDER DAYLIGHT DRIVING CONDITIONS. THE RESULT IS THAT UNDER MOST DAYTIME DRIVING CONDITIONS IS IMPOSSIBLE TO READ THE SPEEDOMETER AND DETERMINE THE SPEED THAT THE VEHICLE IS TRAVELING AT. THIS IS A UNIVERSAL PROBLEM AS DEALER STAFF HAS TOLD ME THAT THEY HAVE HAS NUMEROUS CUSTOMERS COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS SAFETY DEFECT. GOING DOWN HIGHWAY 31 AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH THREE DAYS AFTER THE FIRST CRACK ANOTHER ROCK HIT THE WINDSHIELD AND THE SAME THING HAS HAPPENED ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. ( WINDSHIELD HAD NOT YET BEEN REPLACED) AS WELL AS ONE MONTH OF PURCHASING THE CAR A SMALL ROCK HIT THE TOP OF THE WINDSHIELD IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR AREA AND ONLY MADE A SMALL DING IN IT. I BELIEVE THESE WINDSHIELDS ARE VERY DANGEROUS. IF YOU HEAR ANYTHING HIT YOUR WINDSHIELD AND YOU SEE NOTHING INITIALLY, PLEASE STOP ASAP AND INSPECT IT AS THESE LINE CRACKS EXPAND VERY FAST. EVEN AFTER 30 MINUTES OF DRIVING THE CAR, IT IS STILL LUKEWARM. THIS IS FOR TEMPS BETWEEN 0 DEGREES AND 40 DEGREES OUTSIDE. THE TEMP INSIDE THE CAR NEVER GOES OVER 45 DEGREES WHEN IT IS COLD OUTSIDE. IF THE TEMP IS OVER 40 DEGREES OUTSIDE, THE INSIDE WILL WARM UP TO ABOUT 55 DEGREES AFTER 30 MINUTES OF DRIVING. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD SINCE THE DEFROSTER DOES NOT REMOVE ACCUMULATED ICE OFF THE FRONT WINDOW DURING THE COLD TEMPS. I HAVE TO STOP ON THE ROAD, SCRAPE THE WINDSHIELD AFTER A FEW MILES AND THEN DO THAT REPEATEDLY DURING THE 45 MINUTE DRIVE EACH DAY. IT IS ALSO A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN YOU ARE TOO COLD TO DRIVE, EVEN WITH GLOVES, AND YOUR FINGERS ARE NUMB AND YOUR BODY IS SHAKING FROM THE COLD. THE DEALER SAYS NOTHING IS WRONG. THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG. MAYBE AN INCORRECT THERMOSTAT, OR SOMETHING. BUT, SUBARU SHOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. *TR

THE BLUETOOTH DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. MOST OF THE TIME IT DOESN'T WORK AT ALL. WHEN IT DOES IT KEEPS ON REPEATING ITSELF AND FREEZES THE SCREEN. TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR INDICATED LOW PRESSURE. RIGHT REAR TIRE NEEDED AIR. TIRE CONTINUED TO SLOWLY LEAK AND THE PRESSURE MONITOR TRIPPED AGAIN DAYS LATER. MENTIONED PROBLEM TO DEALERSHIP DURING SERVICE. DEALERSHIP FOUND NO PROBLEM WITH THE TIRE AND PROPERLY INFLATED ALL WHEELS. A FEW DAYS LATER THE TIRE PRESSURE WAS LOW (TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR TRIPPED AGAIN). BRINGING VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER FOR POSSIBLE REPLACEMENT OF TIRE. PROBABLY A PROBLEM ISOLATED TO MY SPECIFIC CAR, BUT LOGGING THE INCIDENT IN CASE THERE ARE MORE TIRES OUT THERE WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 SUBARU FORESTER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CHECK OIL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE OIL NEEDED TO BE CHANGED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
