The contact owns a 2013 Volkswagen CC. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the air bag warning light would remain illuminated and the horn would not operate. In addition, the cruise control was inoperable. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 15V483000 (Air Bags). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 115,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 VOLKSWAGEN CC. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION TO MAKE A LEFT TURN, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR OF HER VEHICLE AT A SPEED OF BETWEEN 55-70 MPH. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ONLY THE STEERING WHEEL AIR BAG DEPLOYED. NONE OF THE SIDE IMPACT AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE IMPACT OF THE CRASH CAUSED THE GEAR SHIFT, DASHBOARD, AND BATTERY COMPARTMENTS OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE TO CRUMBLE INWARD AND BREAK APART. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT'S RIGHT LEG AND HIP WERE PINNED DOWN. THE CONTACT STRUCK THE WINDSHIELD AND SUFFERED A DISLOCATED KNEE CAP, PELVIS FRACTURES IN THREE PLACES, FOUR BROKEN RIBS, NINE STITCHES TO THE FOREHEAD, CUTS AND BRUISES ON BOTH ARMS, TWO SEIZURES, AND A BURN TO THE FACE DUE TO THE STEERING WHEEL AIR BAG. THE OTHER DRIVER SUFFERED HEAD INJURIES. THE CONTACT WAS HOSPITALIZED FOR FIVE DAYS. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY THE CONTACT'S INSURANCE COMPANY TO THEIR LOCATION FOR INVESTIGATION. FINDLAY VOLKSWAGEN (983 AUTO SHOW DR, HENDERSON, NV 89014, (702) 558-6600) WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO CALL NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY IN THE PROCESS OF BEING APPRAISED TO DETERMINE IF IT WAS TOTALED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 48,000.

TAKATA INFLATORS. I WENT AND GOT MY FUEL PUMP RECALL COMPLETED MONTHS AGO AND MY LOCAL DEALER DIDN'T HAVE THE PARTS TO COMPLETE THE AIRBAG RECALL. THEY SAID IT TAKES ABOUT A MONTH OR TWO TO RECEIVE THE PART AND IT HAS BEEN MUCH LONGER THAN THAT AND THEY STILL AREN'T ABLE TO COMPLETE THE RECALL ON MY VEHICLE. MY AIRBAG LIGHT HAS RECENTLY COME ON AND I SAW THAT THERE IS ALSO A RECALL FOR A CLOCK SPRING. I GOT MY CAR CHECKED BY A MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD I WOULD NEED A CLOCK SPRING REPLACEMENT. I NOTIFIED VOLKSWAGEN OF THIS AND WAS TOLD MY CAR WAS NOT APART OF THE RECALL BUT HOW CAN THAT BE WHEN THE EFFECTED MODELS ARE VOLKSWAGEN CC 2011-2014. THEY ARE REFUSING TO MAKE REPAIRS ON MY VEHICLE. I AM 8 MONTHS PREGNANT AND FEEL VERY UNSAFE ON MY COMMUTE TO AND FROM WORK. MY LOCAL DEALER IS UNRELIABLE AS THEY ARE NEVER ABLE TO COMPLETE REPAIRS. WHEN THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON, I WAS TURNING INTO A RESTAURANT AND HEARD A CLICKING SOUND AND THE LIGHT CAME ON. MY HORN NO LONGER WORKS NOR DO THE BUTTONS ON MY STEERING WHEEL.

DRIVING HOME ON THE FREEWAY THE ENGINE STARTED MAKING ABNORMAL NOISE (TICKING). CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR AND LET THEM KNOW I WAS BRINGING IT IN TO BE CHECKED OUT. ON THE WAY THERE THE ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING AND I PULLED OVER AND HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. SEVERAL DAYS LATER DEALERSHIP CALLED AND TOLD ME THE TIMING CHAIN BROKE AND CATASTROPHICLY DESTROYED THE ENGINE. PURCHASED THE VEHICLE CERTIFIED USED WITH 25,578 MILES. AT THE TIME OF THE ENGINE FAILURE IT HAD 62,569 MILES. THE TIMING CHAIN THAT DESTROYED THE ENGINE PREMATURELY FAILED. I HEARD ABOUT A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT SETTLEMENT IN NEW JERSEY FOR THIS PROBLEM AND IT APPEARED MY MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE WAS IN THE GROUP TO BE REIMBURSED FOR DAMAGES. WITH NO OTHER OPTIONS I HAD TO TAKE MONEY FROM MY RETIREMENT SAVINGS AND REPLACE THE ENGINE. AFTER ABOUT ONE MONTH I RECEIVED A TEXT FROM THE DEALERSHIP SAYING THEY HAD BAD NEWS. APPARENTLY AFTER REPLACING THE ENGINE, THEY STARTED THE CAR AND IN TWO MINUTES THEY HEARD AN ABNORMAL KNOCK COMING FROM THE ENGINE AND TOLD ME THAT THE NEW ENGINE WAS GOING TO NEED TO BE REPLACED. NOW I JUST FOUND OUT THAT MY YEAR VEHICLE 2013 CC VW IS NOT PART OF THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. ALL THE EXACT ISSUES I HAVE BEEN READING ABOUT HAVE HAPPENED TO MY VEHICLE. OBVIOUSLY THIS DEFECT IS NOT LIMITED TO ONLY THE VEHICLES IN THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE AND PAID EXTRA FOR IT BECAUSE IT WAS CERTIFIED USED. I NEEDED A VERY RELIABLE COMMUTE VEHICLE TO GET TO WORK AND BACK HOME SAFELY. AFTER THE DEALERSHIP HAVING MY CAR FOR OVER TWO MONTHS, I WAS DRIVING A COUPLE DAYS LATER AND THE CAR HESITATED AT A STOP AND THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. HAD IT TOWED BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME ONE OF THE FUEL INJECTORS WAS "ACTING UP". VWOF A KNEW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND SHOULD HAVE RECALLED THE TIMING CHAIN. NOW I HAVE TO GIVE THEM MORE MONEY!!!

CAR LOSES ENGINE POWER DURING ACCELERATION TO THE POINT IT FEELS THE CAR MAY STALL OUT. THIS ISSUE IS NOT CONSTANT, IT IS RANDOM. THERE IS NO " CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT AT ANY TIME BEFORE, DURING, OR AFTER EVENT. I LEARN TODAY THAT MY FUEL MODULE AND RELATED SEALS AND PUMP ARE FAULTY AND NEED TO BE REPLACED BUT MY VIN IS NOT PART OF VW RECALL FOR THIS VERY SAME ISSUE ON OTHER CC'S. THIS IS A DANGEROUS PROBLEM WHEN DRIVING TO SUDDENLY LOSE ENGINE POWER. PERHAPS THE RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED?

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 VOLKSWAGEN CC. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, THE CHECK COOLANT WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. WHILE INSPECTING UNDER THE HOOD, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE COOLANT RESERVOIR WAS NEARLY EMPTY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE WATER PUMP HAD CRACKED, CAUSING COOLANT TO LEAK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER (WINNER VOLKSWAGEN IN DOVER, DELAWARE) WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000.

AT ABOUT 43K MILES I WAS DRIVING ON A MULTI LANE HIGHWAY WHEN THE CAR STARTED VIOLENTLY TREMBLING/JERKING THEN SPUTTERED AND TURNED OFF. I WAS ABLE TO TURN IT BACK ON AND GET ONTO A SIDE MEDIAN. THE CAR CONTINUED TO JERK I DROVE TO DEALERSHIP IMMEDIATELY A FEW MILES AWAY. BY THE TIME I GOT THERE IT WAS NO LONGER JERKING AND ONLY RANDOM MISFIRES IN THE ENGINE WHERE FOUND ON DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CAR SINCE BEFORE THAT TIME AND STILL HAS A LOW LEVEL BUT NOTICEABLE TREMBLE WHEN IT IS IDLE. I HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES TO HAVE IT ADDRESSED BUT THEY CLAIM TO NOT BE ABLE TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM.

VEHICLE RECALL HAS BEEN PENDING REMEDY SINCE 08/16/2017, IN WHICH MY CAR LOSES POWER WHILE IN MOTION AND STALLS. GOING ON APPROXIMATELY 8MONTHS WITH STILL NO SOLUTION, THIS IS VERY SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS. BEING THAT CAR CUTS OFF RANDOMLY AT ANY GIVEN TIME AT ANY SPEED WHETHER I'M IN TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY OR AT A STOP LIGHT. NO FOLLOW UPS OR UPDATES HAVE BEEN GIVEN ON THE REMEDY WHICH HAS SERVED AS A MAJOR INCONVENIENCE TO MYSELF AND MANY OTHERS AS VOLKSWAGEN CONSUMERS. MY FUEL PUMP ISN'T WORKING ON MY VEHICLE WHICH THERE IS AN OPEN RECALL FROM VOLKSWAGEN WHICH WAS PUT IN PLACE AUGUST OF 2017 THIS IS NOW MID APRIL AND MY VEHICLE IS OUT OF COMMISSION AND VOLKSWAGEN CLAIM EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE THE OPEN RECALL THEY AREN'T AUTHORIZED TO START MAKING THE REPAIRS FOR THESE FAULTY VEHICLES WHICH LEAVES US CONSUMERS STUCK WITH UNSAFE VEHICLES AND IN MY CASE AN VEHICLE I'M MAKING PAYMENTS ON BUT CAN'T CURRENTLY DRIVE BECAUSE MY FUEL SYSTEM WENT COMPLEXITY OUT SO NOW MY CAR WON'T CRANK WHICH LEAVES ME IN AN EXTREME BIND CONSIDERING I USE MY CAR FOR WORK. SO NOW I'M CURRENTLY OUT OF WORK I SPOKE WITH THE VOLKSWAGEN DEALERSHIP THIS MORNING AND THEY CAN'T OFFER ANY LOANERS OR ANY ASSISTANCE UNTIL THEY RECEIVE AUTHORIZATION TO START REPAIRS. 8 MONTHS AFTER THE RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED AND THEY ARE STILL NOT AUTHORIZED TO MAKE THESE REPAIRS????? THEY CLAIM THEY STILL HAVE NOT BEEN SHIPPED THE PARTS????? HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE I KNOW I'M NOT THE ONLY PERSON AFFECTED BY THIS SITUATION IT'S A RECALL ON 281,000 VEHICLES MADE BY THEM. YOU WOULD THINK THEY WOULD ACT SWIFTLY IN REPAIRING THESE VEHICLES MY CAR INITIALLY WOULD STALL OFTEN BUT I CONTINUED TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE AGAIN IT'S MY ONLY MEANS ON TRANSPORTATION AND I HAVE A LOAN OUT ON IT AND CAN'T JUST NOT MAKE MY CAR PAYMENTS OR MY CREDIT WILL BE SCREWED. REGARDING THE ONGOING INVESTIAGTION FOR FAILED REPLACEMENT OF THE CLOCK SPRING RECALL. (NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: EA18003). TWO WEEKS AGO, WHILE TURNING INTO A PARKING SPOT MY STEERING WHEEL MADE A DISCERNING CLICKING SOUND. AFTER RETURNING TO MY CAR I NOTICED AN AIRBAG ERROR AS WELL AS ALL CONTROLS ON THE STEERING WHEEL NOT FUNCTIONING INCLUDING THE HORN. SINCE THEN THESE PROBLEMS HAVE REMAINED. I HAVE CHECKING MY VIN TO SEE IF THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD THE CLOCK SPRING REPLACED FOR THE RECALL BUT THERE ARE NONE. I PRESUME THAT THE REPLACEMENT CLOCK SPRING IS FAULTY JUST LIKE THE ONE THAT WAS REPLACED.

MY CAR HAS 34,495 MILES. I GOT A BACKUP LIGHT OUT MSG ON THE DASH, TRIED TO CHANGE THE BULB BUT WOULD NOT STAY IN BRACKET. THEN I GOT A PARKING LIGHT OUT MSG. NOW MY TRUCK OPENS WHEN I START THE CAR AND WILL NOT LOCK UNLESS THE ENGINE IS OFF. READ ISSUES ON WIRING HARNESS. CALLED THE DEALER AND GOT NO SENSE OF KNOWLEDGE ON THE ISSUE. SERVICE DEPARTMENT TRANSFERRED ME TO PARTS. I WAS TOLD THE HARNESS IS $121 AND MUST BE ORDERED. I INFORMED THEM I WANTED THE DEALER TO MAKE REPAIR SO PARTS TRANSFERRED ME BACK TO SERVICE WHERE I GOT VOICE MAIL. NO REPLY RECEIVED FROM MESSAGE LEFT WITH SERVICE. THIS MUST BE A DESIGN FLAW, IT SHOULD BE SIMPLE TO WRAP THE WIRES IN A PLASTIC SHIELD.

MY BACK UP LIGHTS DON'T WORK AND MY TRUNK WONT OPEN. I BROUGHT NEW LIGHT AND THEY STILL WONT COME ON. THE TRUNK WONT OPEN FROM THE REMOTE OR THE DOOR. I HAVE TO PUT DOWN MY BACK SEAT AND USE THE EMERGENCY OPEN LATCH TO OPEN THE TRUNK. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THE PICTURE BELOW IS THE PROBLEM THE TRUNK WIRING HARNESS HAS A FEW WIRES BROKEN AND WAS TOLD IT COULDN'T BE FIX IT HAD TO BE REPLACED. THIS SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM THAT A FEW OF THESE CARS HAVE HAD WHY HASN'T THERE BEEN A RECALL. I COULD HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT NOT KNOWING MY BACK UP LIGHT WASN'T WORKING.

MY 2013 VW CC TURNED OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC WITH MY THREE CHILDREN IN THE BACK SEAT. THIS HAPPENED TWICE: ONCE ON A BUSY ROAD AND ONCE ON THE HIGHWAY. THE FIRST VW SERVICE DEPARTMENT I TOOK IT TO TOLD ME IT WAS THE TYPE OF GASOLINE I WAS USING. THE SECOND VW SERVICE DEPARTMENT KEPT MY CAR FOR ONE WEEK AND TOLD ME THE PROBLEM WAS RESOLVED. NOW THE ELECTRICAL CONTROLS SEEM TO HAVE GONE HAYWIRE: WINDOWS RAISE AND LOWER ON THEIR OWN AND THE RADIO SCANS BY ITSELF. I DROVE LIKE THIS FOR A WHILE UNTIL THE CAR DIED. WHEN I CALLED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE BATTERY. THIS CAR SEEMS TO HAVE A SERIOUS ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTION AND I'M CONCERNED THAT VW IS NOT ACKNOWLEDGING THE EXTENT OF THE PROBLEM. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY. *TR

"TAKATA RECALL" WE CONTACTED OUR LOCAL VOLKSWAGEN DEALER OVER 6 MONTHS AGO TO GET OUR AIRBAG RECALL TAKEN CARE OF. TO DATE, THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED OR EVEN PLACED ON THE SCHEDULE. OUR LOCAL DEALER HAS BLAMED VW CORPORATE THE ENTIRE WAY. WE ARE GOING ON VACATION JULY 14TH-21ST 2018 AND REACHED OUT TO VW CORPORATE FOR HELP IN THE WAY OF A LOANER VEHICLE. AFTER AN HOUR AND A HALF ON HOLD, THEY HAVE NOT COME UP WITH ANY SUITABLE OPTIONS. THEY ARE REFUSING A RENTAL CAR AND CAN NOT GUARANTEE THAT OUR CAR WILL BE FIXED BEFORE WE LEAVE. WE DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS CAR AND WE'VE BEEN DRIVING IT DAILY BECAUSE WE HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE. OUR CHILDREN WILL BE IN THIS CARD DURING VACATION AND VW DOESN'T SEEM TO CARE.

I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE 12/12 AS A DEMO WITH 5K MILES ON IT. THE TIRES AROUD 9,000 MILES WERE WORN SO UNEVEN I JUST COULDNT TAKE IT ANYMORE. AFTER GOING BACK AND FORTH WITH DEALER THEY AGREED THAT THEY WOULD PAY FOR 3 TIRES IF I WOULD PAY FOR ONE. CAR HAS STALLED 2X WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY. WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE, THE CAR WILL BUCK AND HESITATE AT ABOUT 2K TO 3K RPM AND HAVE VIRTUALLY 0 ACCELERATION. THE EPC LIGHT WILL KICK ON AND THEN THE CAR HAS SLOWER ACCELERATION BUT IT DOES NOT BUCK AND HESITATE. THE ISSUE HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS COLD AND WARMING UP. WHEN THE CAR STALLED, I WAS DOWNSHIFTING, AND THEN THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON. THE CAR JUST DIED. HAD TO PULL OVER AND THEN RESTART THE CAR. THE VEHICLE BEGAN SHOWING SIGNS OF MALFUNCTION IN AUGUST OF 2012 (VEHICLE WAS LEASED THE END OF JUNE) WHEN IT WOULD TAKE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO START THE VEHICLE AND ONCE STARTED THE VEHICLE WOULD OCCASIONAL CUT OFF OR RUN REALLY ROUGH FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES. THE ENGINE LIGHT STAYED ILLUMINATED FOR 2 DAYS. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER TO HAVE IT SERVICED AND AFTER 2 DAYS THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. RETURNED VEHICLE TO ME WITH NO RESOLUTION. CAR RAN FINE FOR 4 MONTHS THEN ON DECEMBER 17TH THE SAME ISSUES BEGAN TO OCCUR BUT MORE SEVERE THIS TIME. I WAS TRAVELING ON A RURAL HIGHWAY AT 45 MPH WHEN THE WHOLE CAR SHUT OFF LEAVING NO POWER, BRAKING OR STEERING CAPABILITIES. LUCKILY THERE WAS NO ONE RIGHT BEHIND ME AND I WAS ABLE TO COAST THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND EJECTED THE KEY. RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND LIMPED THE CAR BACK TO MY DRIVEWAY AS IT WOULD NOT GO OVER 30 MPH WITH THE PEDAL PUSHED TO THE FLOOR. THE VEHICLE REMAINED IN SERVICE FOR 2 DAYS AND THE DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED IT AS A FUEL MODULE ISSUE, REPLACED THE MODULE AND RETURNED THE CAR. ON SATURDAY DECEMBER 22ND THE SAME ISSUES OCCURRED AGAIN. THE CAR WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A 3RD TIME AND REMAINED THERE FOR 22 DAYS AS THE MECHANICS COULD NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE AGAIN. FINALLY THE PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED AS A CRACK IN THE WIRING HARNESS AND VIBRATION WAS CAUSING THE WIRE TO TOUCH THE ENGINE AND STALL OUT. THE CRACK WAS FIXED WITH TAPE AND THE WIRE ROUTED AWAY FROM THE ENGINE. I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING THE CAR TO AND FROM WORK AS I TRAVEL ON VERY SUBURBAN ROADS TO GET THERE. I HAVE REPLACE TWO SET OF TIRES ON MY 2013 VOLKSWAGEN CC. I TWICE BY TWO DIFFERENT VEHICLE MAINTENANCE COPIES THAT BOTH SET OF TIRES SHOWED CUPPING WEAR. THIS IS DUE TO VEHICLE SUSPENSION, SHOCKS, STRUTS. CURRENTLY THERE A LARGE NUMBER OF CUSTOMERS WHO PURCHASE THE VOLKSWAGEN CC MODEL COMPLAINING OF THE SAME PROBLEM. THERE WAS ALSO AN APPARENT LAWSUIT FILE (CASE 1:17-CV-23033-RNS), AGAINST VOLKSWAGEN OF AMERICA REGARDING THE SAME ISSUE MANY CUSTOMERS ARE HAVING. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH VOLKSWAGEN OF AMERICA REGARDING MY PROBLEM, STATING THAT IN THE PASS COUPLE OF YEARS I HAD TO REPLACE TWO SET OF TIRES FOR THIS REASON. TIRE CUPPING CAN BE VERY DANGEROUS DUE TO UNEVEN TIRE WARE, NOT TO MENTION THE SUSPENSION BEING THE MAIN PROBLEM OF THE VEHICLE. IMPROPER SUSPENSION COULD LEAD TO DANGEROUS BREAKING ISSUES. 2013 VOLKSWAGEN CC EQUIPPED WITH CONTINENTAL CONTI PRO CONTACT TIRES. WHILE DRIVING AT ALL SPEEDS, AN ABNORMALLY LOUD NOISE EMITTED FROM THE TIRES. THE VEHICLE HAD LESS THAN 15000 MILES ON THE TIRES WHEN THE PROBLEM BEGAN. THE ROAD NOISE GOT PROGRESSIVELY WORSE AND EVENTUALLY TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PROBLEM IS DUE TO CUPPING OF THE TIRES AND THAT I WOULD NEED TO REPLACE THE TIRES AND GET A REALIGNMENT. THE CAR HAS BEEN SERVICED ON A REGULAR BASIS THROUGH THE DEALER AND THE DEALER DID NOT MENTION ANY ISSUES WITH ALIGNMENT DURING THE SERVICES. OTHER OWNERS HAD PROVIDED SIMILAR ISSUES ON THE INTERNET AND THAT THE ISSUE HAD NOT RESOLVED AFTER BOTH NEW TIRES AND REALIGNMENT IN MANY CASES. THE ISSUE SEEMS TO BE RELATED TO BAD ALIGNMENT OR BALL JOINTS IN THE SUSPENSION WITH THE VEHICLE. PURCHASED THIS CAR NEW. STARTED EXPERIENCING SHUDDERING AND GRINDING SENSATION FROM THE FRONT END OF CAR WHEN IN MOTION. IT IS ESPECIALLY BAD AT LOWER SPEEDS. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMS TO HAVE CHECKED THE BRAKES AND SUSPENSION OF THE CAR AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG. HOWEVER, THEY FOUND THAT MY TIRES ARE CUPPING AND THAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM. I FOUND OUT VW HAS RE-DESIGNED THEIR BRAKES FOR A 'SOFT FEEL'. BUT THE BRAKES NOW TRAVEL ALMOST TO THE FLOOR WHEN SLOWLY PUSHED DOWN, AND YOU HAVE TO PUMP THE PEDAL TO GET A FEEL THAT THE BRAKES ARE TAKING EFFECT. IN FACT THE TRAVEL OF THE BRAKE PEDAL IS LOWER THAN THE LEVEL OF THE GAS PEDAL AND THIS IS WHERE THE SAFETY ISSUES COMES IN. BECAUSE OF THIS EXCESSIVE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL, I HAVE ON A NUMBER OF OCCASIONS FOUND MY FOOT PRESSING BOTH THE BRAKE AND GAS PEDALS AT THE SAME TIME. PARTICULARLY AT SLOW SPEEDS - LIKE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, OR COMING TO A SLOW STOP IN THE GARAGE. While I was driving I notice my steering wheel making a crumbling of plastic noise when I made any kind of turn . A few days later my Airbag error lamp started to blink. I parked and restarted my engine then the airbag became solid . My dash read “Airbag Error” . I notice all my steering wheel buttons do not work . Came home and neither does my horn . My car has never been in accident , but I feel it’s a safety hazard . I’m basically driving mute and I’m sure my airbag will not deploy in case of accident . Also, Vw does have a recall on the Clock spring but was never completed due to not hearing back from manufacturer . That was a few years back and do not understand how recalls work , but a recall was started for a reason and NOT completed. Is that even possible? This a serious safety issue if I’m in an accident without an Airbag . Also the horn will not work in case to warn other drivers of a possible fatal hazard

WHILE TRAVELING ON THE FREEWAY IN SAN DIEGO, MY CAR STARTED SHAKING AND LOSING POWER. THEN THE EPC & CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS TURNED ON, ON THE DASHBOARD. I WAS BARELY ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SHOULDER, AND DRIVE OFF THE UPCOMING EXIT RAMP. I LOST TOTAL ENGINE POWER, AND I HAD TO CALL THE TOWING TRUCK TO TAKE ME TO THE CLOSEST DEALERSHIP, AS THE CAR IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. I WAITED 5 HOURS TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS HAPPENING, AS I LIVE IN ANOTHER CITY. THE DEALERSHIP TECHNICIAN TOLD ME THAT THEY RECORDED SEVERAL PISTON MISFIRES, BUT AFTER RESETTING THE COMPUTER, THE FAULTS NEVER CAME BACK. THEIR INTERNAL POLICY REQUIRED THE FAULT TO BE PRESENT FOR THE COMPANY TO COMPLY TO REPLACE FAULTY PARTS, EVEN WHEN THEY HAD THE RECORDS. THEY TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT HELP ME, AND ADVISED TO TAKE THE CAR AND DRIVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I LIVED. I DID SO, AND I GOT THE SAME RESPONSE FROM MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP. THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD NOT HELP ME DUE TO INTERNAL POLICIES, AND THAT I SHOULD DRIVE THE CAR AS IS, UNTIL THE ISSUE CAME UP AGAIN. I EXPLAINED THIS COULD PUT ME & MY FAMILY AT RISK OF INJURY, EVEN POSSIBLE DEATH DUE TO A HIGHWAY ACCIDENT, NOT TO MENTION THE COST I COULD INCUR FOR ANOTHER TOW TRUCK & HOTEL EXPENSES. IN THE AFFECTED VEHICLES, DEBRIS MAY CONTAMINATE THE AIR BAG CLOCK SPRING, A SPIRAL WOUND, FLAT CABLE THAT KEEPS THE AIR BAG POWERED WHILE THE STEERING WHEEL IS BEING TURNED. I OWN A 2013 VC CC WITH ABOUT 76,000 MILES ON IT. CAR IS AN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND IS STILL PRETTY NEW WHEN SUDDENLY MY CAR BEGAN TO SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. THERE WERE NO PROGRESSION OF PROBLEMS. THE ISSUE OCCURRED SUDDENLY. WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD OR WHILE STATIONARY AT A RED LIGHT, ALL THE SUDDEN WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE, THE CAR WOULD BEGIN JERKING AND THE ENGINE WOULD JUST REV UP AS IF THE CAR WAS IN NEUTRAL POSITION UNTIL EVENTUALLY SHUTTING OFF AND PARKING AND ENGINE INDICATOR LIGHTS WOULD TURN ON. IF I WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT IN DRIVE POSITION, THE PARKING LIGHT WOULD SUDDENLY TURN ON AND I WOULD HAVE NO MOBILITY OF THE VEHICLE. THE CAR WOULD STILL BE ON, BUT WOULD NOT MOVE. I WOULD HAVE TO POSITION IT IN PARK, RESTART THE VEHICLE AND IT WOULD JUMP START BEFORE THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN. AFTER TAKING IT TO THE DEALER, I WAS INFORMED THAT I WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE MECHATRONIC UNIT, WHICH IS BASICALLY THE COMPUTER THAT CONTROLS THE TRANSMISSION. REPLACEMENT COSTS WERE $1800. THEY WERE GENERALLY UNSURE OF WHY A NEW VEHICLE WOULD HAVE THESE ISSUES, MENTIONING IT MAY HAVE BEEN WATER DAMAGE FROM STREET FLOODING OR MOISTURE GETTING INTO THE UNIT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 VOLKSWAGEN CC. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, THE VEHICLE RESTARTED. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE THE DIAGNOSIS WAS UNKNOWN. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO A GROCERY STORE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO HER HAND THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE THE DIAGNOSIS WAS UNKNOWN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,200.

I HAVE HAD VW CC'S SINCE 2009 AND HAVE BEEN TRADING THEM IN FOR A NEW MODEL EACH YEAR. UPON GETTING A 2013 VW CC I RETURNED TO THE DEALER THE WITHIN 72 HOURS OF PURCHASING THE CAR AS I HAVE BEEN HAVING STALLING ISSUES AT LOW SPEEDS (ESPECIALLY WHILE TURNING) DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE DSG TRANSMISSION. I HAVE BROUGHT MY VEHICLE BACK SEVERAL TIMES IN REGARDS TO THE SAME ISSUE. THE FIRST TIME, I WAS TOLD THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED CHANGING (AT 36 MILES), THE SECOND, THIRD AND FOURTH TIMES I BROUGHT THE CAR INTO GUNTHER VW I WAS TOLD BY THE HEAD SERVICE ADVISOR THAT THE ISSUES ON MY CAR WERE RESOLVED AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY FURTHER ISSUES EACH TIME. NEEDLESS TO SAY WHEN I SPOKE WITH THE MECHANIC DIRECTLY HE INFORMED ME THAT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO DETECT THE PROBLEM (EVEN THOUGH I HAD VIDEO OF THE CAR CAUSING THE ISSUE) AND NOTHING WAS DONE. NOT ONLY WAS I LIED TO MANY TIMES, BUT VW CORPORATE WAS WILLING TO SWAP OUT MY CAR WITH A NEW ONE AS I HAVE BEEN A LOYAL CUSTOMER AND THEY DID NOT WANT TO LOSE ME. HOWEVER DUE TO THE EXTREME NEGLIGENCE AND LIES OF THE HEAD SERVICE ADVISOR I WAS DENIED A SWAP AS HE INFORMED CORPORATE THAT THERE ARE NO ISSUES WITH MY CAR. UNTIL THIS DAY MY VEHICLE STILL STALLS AT LOW SPEEDS AND IS A HAZARD AND DANGER TO MYSELF AND THE PUBLIC, YET NO ONE AT VW CARES ENOUGH TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND PROVIDE ME WITH A VEHICLE THAT I FEEL SAFE TRANSPORTING MY FAMILY IN. I DON'T CARE ABOUT MY CARE, I WILL NEVER BE RETURNING TO VW EVEN AFTER HAVING 3 CC'S AND NUMEROUS OTHER VEHICLES, BUT I WANT TO MAKE SURE NO ONE GETS INJURED OR DIES DUE TO THEIR GROSS NEGLIGENCE. *TR

THE ENGINE STALLED WHILE DRIVING( SPEED 5-10MPH). STEERING WHEEL IMMEDIATELY AUTOMATICALLY LOCKED,LOST CONTROL OVER THE CAR.THE COMPUTER SHOWED A PROBLEM WITH THE BATTERY (THE SIGN WAS DISPLAYED FOR A FEW SECONDS). PUSHED THE BRAKES - BRAKES WORKED. REMOVED THE KEY AND STARTED THE CAR AGAIN, THE CAR STARTED UP AND EVERYTHING HAS STABILIZED. *TR

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 400 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1,400...UPDATED 06-19-13 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEALER ADVISED DUE TO THE FAILURE THE CLUTCH WILL PROBABLY WEAR OUT IN 20-30K MILES.
