PTC auxiliary heater core connection point failure . It was reported that the wrong type of metal was used for the main electrical connection point for this part causing significant over heating further leading to melting and burning plastic. This then introduces potentially dangerous fumes into the vehicle cabin via the HVAC system. If unaddressed this would likely cause fire damage. The problem has been reproduced by multiple vehicle owners and happens during cold conditions as it supplies heat to the cabin prior to the engine hitting optimal operating temperatures. No warning messages or codes are thrown as a result of this issue. It is a hazard and could cause harm to operators of the vehicles affected.

Supplementary auxiliary electric heater ground connector melted and could have caused a fire. Original part #5Q0963235B. A recall (17V-62) for this part was active for various Audi and VW models but for whatever reason my car was not included. Car was brought to Valenti VW on 3/1/24 for inspection after burning smell was emitting from vents. Dealer was unable to locate the source of the problem. Discovered the defective heater myself during fall season when heat was necessary. Please see attached photos. I feel I am entitled to reimbursement for the costs associated with getting this dangerous situation repaired.

TDI Auxiliary heater (PTC) brown ground wire melting and causing a terrible plastic burning smell inside cabin. Wire likely will cause a fire. Many reports of this happening to other individuals on the Internet forum TDIforum.com

I smelled a strong odor coming from the heater that turned out to be burnt plastic and wiring associated with the auxiliary heater. This is an obvious fire/ smoke hazard that could have been deadly if other nearby components caught fire.

The chrome plastic trim coating on the START/STOP button and also the steering wheel have peeled and are razor sharp. I cut myself badly on both pieces on my right fore fingertip and middle ring finger. I try to avoid placing my hand accross the horn of the steering wheel since this happened, but the trim there is very dangerously sharp. There is a recall on the same trim on 2017 cars (Service Action 34L9), but the VW dealer told me there was not on my vehicle.

Thermostat/water pump housing leaking coolant at 20,000 miles. No damage to vehicle that caused this, seems to be a common issue with VW Golfs. The repair is out of pocket and the dealership which sold me the car only a year ago is quoting $1600.

Clock spring failure at 10 years 1400000 miles causing airbag light to come on. Airbag in steering wheel presumably doesn't work properly. The car has been looked at by a dealership who quickly confirmed clock spring failure, but falls outside of VW warranty replacement for this vehicle. There was no warning prior to failure of the clock spring.

The contact's partner owns a 2015 Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 30 MPH, he observed that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The contact also heard an abnormal soft clicking sound in the cabin while turning the steering wheel to the left or to the right. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V483000 (Air Bags); however, the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was unknown.

Air bag error appeared on dashboard. Horn is not functioning as well. May be due to a faulty switch in the steering.

The clock spring fails. Causing the airbag light to illuminate. The car is a 2015 and the first clock spring failed in January 2021, with around 155,00 miles (estimate). Second one failed this week with 162,000 miles. I know the car is old, but the part that gets power to the airbag should last more than 2 years. Volkswagen extended the warranty of the part, but we were outside for both repairs now. The dealer tells me this part is fixed on a regular basis to the point he was surprised he was able to get the part. I feel like for the part that supplies power to the airbag, an extended warranty is not sufficient. (For the information below, I was in a parking lot when the clock spring broke, so speed was irrelevant, np accident occurred)

SUSPENSION

Both rear coil springs failed. One broke at the top and bottom and one broke at the bottom. The incident date is the date that it was found. I don’t know how long they have been this way.

I earlier made a report about my issue- but since then I discovered that BOTH rear springs were broken - multiple times- Repair was completed and I’ve attached photos of old parts Additional research shows that VW has an active recall campaign open on rear springs for the 2013 and 2014 Sportwagen and some 2015, but not the 2015 that I own….

Driving on thruway at 65 when the left rear coil spring broke. There was a loud bang and pieces of the spring exited out onto the highway where several vehicles ran over them before they bounced off the road.

Left rear coil spring failed and is not available for inspection. The car was difficult to control when the spring failed which put driver safety at risk. The car was brought to an independent service center and confirmed that the failure was a left rear coil spring which required replacing both the left and right rear coil springs. The component was not inspected by the manufacturer. There were no warning signs or symptoms of the problem prior to failure. The car suddenly start making a loud noise in the rear left section of the vehicle while driving.

The contact owns a 2015 Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, there was an abnormal sound coming from the engine. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that the camshaft module and variable valve timing (VVT) gears needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 97,900.

Thermostat housing and water pump are leaking coolant. It is available for inspection. It can cause my engine to overheat and/or fail while being used. It has been confirmed by a dealership. It has not been inspected by the police, manufacturer, or insurance company. There have been occasional reports of low coolant, and the coolant drains significantly faster than expected especially in cold weather (e.g. needing to fill coolant every 7 days). It was first repaired in 2019, and has since failed again.

While normally driving on the street, I noticed that the car started to overheat and could hear the radiator working to keep the heat level normal. I stopped and did not notice any leaks and added coolant to the car after I left it cool for about 3 hours. The problem went away but i still took it to the dealership and i was told it might be the head gasket of the engine or thermostat/waterpump, a $4000 repair. Was advised to just sell the car. VW should address this issue as it has been a long issue now

Loss of coolant due to cheap plastic housing leads to damage to the thermostat and water pump. Researching the forums on this issue has shown that it's a common problem with the vehicle that Volkswagen hasn't addressed.

I brought my 2015 Volkswagen (with only 50,000 miles) to Island Volkswagen in NY for a fuel system recall repair. Before this, the car had no fuel smell, no leaks, and was driving normally. Immediately after the recall work, I began smelling fuel. The dealership told me the fuel line is leaking and needs to be replaced. I never had this issue before, and it’s clearly related to the repair they performed. I’m now being told I must pay $550 out of pocket for something I believe was caused by their handling of the fuel system during the recall. This is a serious safety concern. If I drive this car and something goes wrong, it could result in a fire. I believe this issue deserves review, especially if other drivers experience similar problems after this recall.

Vehicle had recall for "leaking fuel fire risk" Strong smell of fuel inside car. Manufacturer recall #20UF NHTSA recall 24V110 There has not been a fix yet available. Dealer (Team Volkswagen Merrillville IN) replaced the Jet fuel pump. Problem continued, VW engineering said bring the car back and replace the entire fuel tank. Completed. Problem returned 2 weeks later (XXX). While driving home from work noticed extremely strong fuel odor in car. Pulled off in a store parking lot, someone ran up and told me my car was leaking fuel. Gas was literally pouring out, I lost 1/4 tank of fuel on way home. The fuel was leaking under hood, under fuel tank area and under the rear passenger seat. I had the car towed to the dealer. Volkswagen does not have an actual fix for the problem. I should be given a replacement car due to Volkswagen being unable to correct this serious safety issue. What should I do, I am afraid to take the car back. I have videos and several pictures but unable to upload onto this website. I was putting gas and it started shooting out gas from the tank fuel. I had filled up 2 gallons and the entire two gallons ended up on the floor of the gas station. I took the car to an old Volkswagen specialist and he suggested I get an evap system smoke test to determine what the problem is. I did the test and it came back as a faulty evap canister. That the evap vent valve is stuck closed and purge is allowing fuel into the canister. So I bought an oem canister and replaced the old one. For one day the car drove fine with no issue putting gas or any leaks. The next day I noticed the smell of gas and saw that it was leaking gas from behind the rear wheel. I took it to a local mechanic and the car leaked the remaining 60 miles of gas on the floor. Also the new canister is filled with gas again.

Suction pump recall was completed by Karmart the dealership I purchased the vehicle from. Suction pump continues to be an issue with fuel purging or leaking. This has been an ongoing issue for the past 5 months. Most recently a few days ago.

Alarm went off in car - said coolant was low - had to pull over. Luckily was in neighborhood but could have been on highway. Gas station confirmed issue and let me know that the water pump and entire thermostat housing system had to be replaced - very expensive repair and dangerous issue. If it had happened on highway, would have had to pull over immediately there.

The hood release doesn’t work and cannot access anything in the engine bay. No oil changes until the hood can be opened. Clear recall due to the danger of not being able to open. The handle inside the car broke by attempting to open the hood.

There is a crack and leak in my sunroof. I have not done anything to my car that would result in the crack. Based on Reddit searches, this is a frequent problem for VW owners. Autobody shops do not want to touch my sunroof or fix it because they do not have success fixing sunroofs.

THE CHROME TRIM AROUND THE SHIFTER LEVEL IS EXTREMELY SHARP AND IS A SAFETY HAZARD. REACHING INTO THE STORAGE COMPARTMENT IN FRONT OF THE SHIFTER, MY FINGER CAUGHT THIS SHARP EDGE AND WAS SERIOUSLY CUT. THERE WAS A LOT OF BLOOD AND PAIN AS A RESULT. AN ONLINE SEARCH REVEALS THAT THIS TYPE OF INJURY IS NOT UNCOMMON.

I'VE BEEN THROUGH THREE TRANSMISSIONS SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR THREE YEARS AGO. THE FIRST TRANSMISSION WENT OUT DUE TO MECHANIC ERROR, VW PUT A NEW ONE IN THAT ONE FAIL CATASTROPHICALLY BUT VW BLAMED THE FAIL ON THE FLYWHEEL (IT HAD HOTSPOTS ON IT) PAID $4000 FOR A USED TRANSMISSION (WITH 32K ON IT) AND NEW CLUTCH AND FLYWHEEL. NOW THAT ONE FAILED WHEN I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE IT WAS CONSTANTLY SLIPPING OUT OF 5TH GEAR AND IT WAS HARD TO SHIFT IT INTO A LOWER GEAR..I'VE NEVER HAD ISSUES LIKE THIS BEFORE I'VE BEEN DRIVING MANUAL FOR 7 YEARS. I'M WONDERING WHAT IS CAUSING ALL THESE TRANSMISSIONS TO FAIL.

OVER TIME, A BUILD-UP OF SILICATE ON THE SHIFT LEVER MICRO SWITCH CONTACTS CAN MAKE IT POSSIBLE TO REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH WITHOUT THE SHIFT LEVER BEING IN THE "P" PARK POSITION. THIS MAKES THE VEHICLE NONCOMPLIANT WITH 49 CFR 571.114 STANDARD NO. 114 THEFT PROTECTION AND ROLLAWAY PREVENTION. IF THE IGNITION KEY IS REMOVED WITHOUT THE SHIFT LEVER BEING IN THE "P" PARK POSITION, THERE IS A RISK THAT THE VEHICLE MAY ROLL AWAY, RESULTING IN A CRASH THAT COULD INJURE PEOPLE AND DAMAGE PROPERTY.

The contact owns a 2015 Volkswagen Golf. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the fuel gauge level dropped quickly, and there was an abnormal fuel odor before the vehicle shutoff in the middle of the roadway. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact exited the vehicle and push the vehicle to the side of the road. The contact stated that while checking underneath the vehicle, the contact became aware of a fuel leak. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The independent mechanic confirmed the fuel leak and referred the contact to the dealer for assistance with the repair. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V110000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) as a possible cause for the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 111,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED SINCE THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V647000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE, ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) HOWEVER, THE REPAIR FAILED TO CORRECT THE FAILURE. VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

Cruise control randomly disengaged without the brake pedal or cancel cruise button being depressed. Has happened several times in the last 1.5 years of car ownership. No hazardous road conditions were present, car did not slip and was not accelerating quickly. Sudden unexpected changes in speed, such as those caused by cruise disengaging suddenly, are hazardous. Problem has not been inspected or reproduced by a dealer. No warning lights appeared.

WHEN VW UPDATED THE SOFTWARE TO CORRECT THE DEFECTIVE CAMSHAFT, THEY DISABLED THE CRUISE CONTROL FEATURES AND ARE UNABLE AND UNWILLING TO CORRECT, THE VEHICLE IS RUNNING WHEN THIS DISABLED FEATURE IMPACTS THE CAR UNDER ALL DRIVING CONDITIONS.

IN 3 SEPARATE INSTANCES, WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (65-72 MPH), THE CRUISE CONTROL HAS DISENGAGED, CAUSING SUDDEN AND RAPID DECELERATION OF THE VEHICLE. IN ALL INSTANCES, THE PAVEMENT WAS DRY, I WAS NOT TAILGATING, AND FEET WERE NOT NEAR THE BRAKE (I.E. I DID NOT ACCIDENTALLY HIT THE BRAKE). THIS IS A DANGEROUS SCENARIO. WILL BE TAKING THE CAR INTO DEALER IN A FEW WEEKS, BUT UNSURE THEY WILL BE ABLE TO REPRODUCE OR DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. SEVERAL OTHER OWNERS OF GOLFS HAVE REPORTED THIS SAME ISSUE ON THE TDI FORUM.

THE MODEL ABOVE IS A GOLF TDI WITH A 6 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION....AS I WAS DRIVING IN 6TH GEAR AT 60 M.P.H. WITH THE CRUISE ENGAGED I CAME UPON A DOWN GRADE AND AS I HAVE DONE FOR CLOSE TO 50 YEARS AND NUMEROUS STANDARD TRANSMISSION CARS, DOWN SHIFTED TO 5TH TO ALLOW ENGINE BRAKING DOWNHILL. WHEN I LET THE CLUTCH BACK OUT THE CAR ACCELERATED INSTEAD OF SLOWING BECAUSE THE CRUISE NEVER CANCELLED. IT WAS TRYING TO BRING ME BACK TO THE SET 60 M.P.H. SET SPEED. TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER, GANLEY VW NORTH OLMSTEAD OHIO, ON 6/8/15, AND AFTER THEY LOOKED AT IT I WAS TOLD THIS WAS "NORMAL" THIS WAS NEVER "NORMAL" WITH ANY OTHER CAR I HAVE OWNED AND IF SO IT DEFINITELY IS NOT A SAFE FEATURE.

RURAL ROAD IN FLORIDA, CRUISE CONTROL SET TO SPEED LIMIT OF 45 MPH. APPROACHING A SHARP CURVE, I DOWN SHIFTED MY MANUAL TRANSMISSION FROM 5TH TO 3RD TO SLOW DOWN TO AN APPROPRIATE SPEED OF ABOUT 35 MPH. WHEN I RELEASED THE CLUTCH, AND BEGAN STEERING INTO THE CURVE, THE CAR'S CRUISE CONTROL RE-ENGAGED AND I FOUND MYSELF STRUGGLING TO STEER AROUND THE CURVE AT 45 MPH. EXACT MODEL IS GOLF SPORTWAGEN TDI SEL WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSION. VW'S OWN INSTRUCTION VIDEO SAYS THAT WHEN THE CLUTCH PEDAL IS DEPRESSED THE CRUISE CONTROL DIS-ENGAGES AND THAT THE DRIVER MUST PRESS THE RESUME BUTTON FOR THE CRUISE CONTROL TO BE RE-ENGAGED. IN MY 50 YEARS OF OPERATING AUTOMOBILES, EVERY CAR WITH CRUISE CONTROL AND A MANUAL TRANSMISSION HAS OPERATED PER THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE VW VIDEO. UPON CAREFUL READING OF THE OWNER'S MANUAL I FOUND THE FOLLOWING DISCLAIMER: "CHANGING GEARS WHEN CRUISE CONTROL IS ACTIVE ... CLOCK SPRING BROKE. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND RECALL FOR PREVIOUS YEARS, BUT APPARENTLY NOT MINE. SYMPTOMS ARE AIRBAG LIGHT ON, INOPERABLE STEERING WHEEL ACCESSORIES INCLUDING HORN. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. IT SHOULD BE RECALLED. FIRST KNOWLEDGE OF THIS PROBLEM WAS UPON STARTING FIRST THING IN THE MORNING. CAR WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE.

I HAVE A 2015 VW GOLF SPORTWAGEN WITH ABOUT 47K MILES. 9 MONTHS AGO I HAD MY CLOCK SPRING GO BAD IN MY VEHICLE, WHICH RENDERED MY AIRBAG TO BE DISABLED. THE REPLACEMENT WAS COVERED UNDER THE 3YR/36K MIKE WARRANTY THAT COMES WITH THE CAR NEW (THIS IS A TDI MODEL, SO THE IN-SERVICE DATE IS MAY 2018 -CAR HAS APPROX. 32K MILES ON IT AT THE TIME OF REPAIR). TODAY (MARCH 2021), I HAD MY CLOCK SPRING GO BAD AGAIN, WHICH DISABLED MY AIRBAG, AGAIN. VW TELLS ME THAT MY MODEL SPECIFICALLY ISN'T COVERED UNDER AN EXISTING EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT HAS BEEN ISSUED TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM. THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM WITH ALMOST ALL MODELS OF VW FROM 2010-2018 AND THE NHTSA IS WELL AWARE. MY MODEL OF CLOCK SPRING, ALTHOUGH USED IN MANY OF THESE OTHER MODELS THAT ARE COVERAGE BY THIS EXTENDED WARRANTY, IS NOT COVERED BY VW. I'M NOT DRIVING WITH NO AIRBAGS UNTIL I CAN AFFORD TO REPLACE OUT OF POCKET. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND SHOULD COVER ALL MODELS WHICH USE THAT SAME CLOCK SPRING THAT IS THE PROBLEM.

AT 39K MILES, WHILE BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT, A CLICKING NOISE EMITTED FROM THE STEERING COLUMN, THEN WARNING LIGHT CAME ON FOR THE AIRBAG AND TRANSMISSION WITH THE CAR'S DISPLAY SAYING NOT TO DRIVE IT. SOME RESEARCH AND TESTING REVEAL THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE STEERING WHEEL (INCLUDING AIRBAG, HORN, AND ALL CONTROLS MOUNTED THERE) AND THE CAR HAS BEEN SEVERED. A PART CALLED THE 'CLOCK SPRING' HAS FAILED UNDER NORMAL USE. THIS ISSUE HAS OCCURRED ON THOUSANDS OF SIMILAR VWS AND THE NHTSA HAS OR HAD AN INVESTIGATION INTO THIS VERY ISSUE, BUT ONLY 2010-2014 MODEL YEAR CARS. AS A CONSEQUENCE THE AIRBAG AND HORN ARE NOT WORKING. VW SO FAR SAYS THIS IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE ESTIMATED REPAIR IS OVER $500. FOR A PART THAT SHOULD ALMOST NEVER FAIL. IT IS A POOR DESIGN, AND A KNOWN ISSUE ACROSS THEIR MODEL LINE. VW SHOULD COVER THIS. THE LIABILITY ISSUES IF SOMEBODY GETS HURT DUE TO THE FAILED CLOCK SPRING AND DE-ACTIVATED DRIVER'S SIDE AIRBAG.

WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION, ALL ELECTRICAL COMPONENT BUTTONS CONNECTED TO THE STEERING WHEEL, INCLUDING THE HORN STOPPED WORKING AND THE AIR BAG SENSOR LIGHT WENT ON , ALONG WITH TRANSMISSION SENSOR ERROR. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY IDENTIFIED THE CLOCKSPRING IN THE STEERING COLUMN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.

I did a left-U turn- heard a loud sound, and then all the electrical things on my steering wheel failed, like horn, air bag, and controls. The failed airbag light is on, and it has other warning lights as well. I am now not protected in a crash, nor can I use my horn. I believe from a bit of research that my car has what I think is the same clockspring defect that VW has had in a TON of their vehicles- mine has failed- but does not seem to fall into a safety recall. Why is that? This seems to be a serious safety problem they have had- and I believe it should be covered by the manufacturer.

My airbag light came on today as I was backing out of a parking space (7/29/22 and mileage 235845), and this was after plastic creaking/cracking noises coming from my steering wheel for quite a while when I turned it. The frequency and amount of noise when I turned the wheel had increased a lot lately. This is the second time this exact thing has happened - I had to replace the clock spring in the steering wheel once before (3/19/19 at milage 154165). While I know I drive a lot, it’s mostly straight on the interstate since I live in a rural area, so I am not turning the wheel constantly. I’m hesitant about if it’s worth it to spend money on replacing it since the last time it was almost $800, and has now broken again, only 80k miles later. I know that earlier years of VWs had this part recalled and I am wondering if that should have extended to 2015s - although I’m not sure what good that would do me since the replacement one I had installed at the dealer also broke.

AS I WAS TURNING MY STEERING WHEEL, I HEARD A CRINKLE SOUND AND THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON. I REALIZED LATER THAT I COULD NO LONGER HONK THE HORN. WHEN I BROUGHT MY CAR IN FOR SERVICE, THE CLOCK SPRING WAS REPLACED, HOWEVER THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN WITHIN WEEKS. I CANNOT HONK MY HORN AND I AM CONCERNED THAT MY AIR BAG WILL NOT DEPLOY IN THE CASE OF AN EMERGENCY.

In the last year, my car has experienced multiple instances of the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) warning light, check engine light, and a flashing glow plug light on the dashboard. Despite multiple visits and repairs at Sheehy Volkswagen of Springfield, these issues persist, particularly in sub-freezing temperatures. Upon independent inspection of the engine compartment, I found multiple exposed wires, broken wires, and poorly repaired broken wires. The most significant concerns are as follows: Repeated DPF Issues: Over the last three years, the DPF warning and related issues have recurred each winter. Initial attempts to rectify the issue included a DPF regeneration procedure, which temporarily cleared the fault codes but did not address the underlying problem. The DPF was finally replaced in mid-2024, yet the same problems manifested with a brand new component just months later. Extended Repair Time: Sheehy Volkswagen of Springfield had my vehicle for a total of six months (Dec-23 to May-24), during which they were unable to diagnose or fix the problem despite escalating the case to Volkswagen HQ (Business Case Numbers: BT1167682 and BT1177805). This delay is unacceptable. Poor Customer Service: Throughout this period, customer service was unsatisfactory. I was frequently passed between customer service representatives, none of whom were sufficiently informed about the ongoing repairs. Incorrect Diagnosis and Repairs: After replacing the DPF, ECM, temperature sensor, and wiring harnesses, the issue persisted. It was eventually suggested that a wiring problem might be to blame, yet no comprehensive solution was provided. Incompetence and Safety Concerns: Upon retrieving my vehicle, I noticed white smoke emanating from the engine compartment, which I discovered was due to the coolant reservoir being overfilled. Additionally, an independent inspection revealed exposed and poorly repaired wires, posing a serious safety hazard.

I LEASED THE E-GOLF FOR ABOUT 4 MONTHS. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AND SUDDENLY CAR SHUT DOWN. AN ERROR "ERROR:ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. STOP!" APPEARED. CAR STOPPED AND BLOCKED THE LANE. I CALLED VW SOS AND THEY CONNECTED ME TO 911. POLICE OFFICER CAME AND HELPED ME PULLING THE CAR TO THE ROADSIDE. THE WINDOWS AND MULTIMEDIA WORKED. TRIED TO PRESS THE POWER BUTTON OFF AND TURNED IT ON BUT SAME ERROR SHOWED. I WAITED FOR ONE HOUR TO TOW MY CAR TO THE DEALER. I GOT CAR BACK FROM DEALER 4 DAYS LATER, IN THEIR REPORT STATED " CHECKED FAULTS IN SYSTEM, FOUND P0C0100 DRIVE MOTOR A CURRENT HIGH. CONTACTED VW HELPLINE. VW HELPLINE ADVISED THESE FAULTS ARE RELATED TO CUSTOMER PRESSING START/STOP BUTTON WHILE DRIVING" , I'M PRETTY SURE I DIDN'T TOUCH THE POWER BUTTON WHEN DRIVING. AND THEY " CLEARED ALL FAULTS, SET BASIC SETTING FOR ELECTRIC DRIVE AND ROAD TESTED EXTENSIVELY FOR 90 MILES AND NO MALFUNCTION OCCURRED AT THIS TIME". I LIKE THE CAR'S DESIGN AND STILL DRIVING THE CAR DAILY BUT JUST REALLY REALLY WORRY ABOUT THE SAFETY.

I WAS IN HAYWARD ON THE 880 FREEWAY (FLAT, DRY ROAD) IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, IN THE HOV LANE GOING ABOUT 40 MPH, AND MY VW E-GOLF JUST SHUT DOWN AND SHOWED THE ERROR "ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FAILURE: STOP!". I HAD ENOUGH MOMENTUM TO COAST 5 FEET OVER TO THE LEFT SIDE (CENTER DIVIDER) I COULD NOT MAKE IT COMPLETELY OUT OF THE LANE. CARS WERE LAYING ON THEIR HORN AND SPEEDING PAST ME WHILE MY BUMPER HUNG OUT A FOOT INTO THE LANE. THE CAR IS 3 MONTHS OLD. IT HAD A CHARGE OF 86 MILES WHEN IT HAPPENED, I HAD IT ON A CHARGING STATION IT SHOWED I CHARGED MY CAR ACCUMULATED (KWH): 29.523. THE RADIO, WINDOWS, BLUETOOTH AND ALL OTHER ELECTRICAL POWERED INSTRUMENTS STILL WORKED. I PRESSED THE POWER BUTTON OFF AND TURNED IT ON AGAIN , THE ERROR STILL REMAINED, AND THE CAR WOULD NOT "TURN ON".

The frame and track of the sun roof has developed a crack. It is available for inspection upon request. Because the frame/track developed a crack in the structural material, I can hear it rattling when I drive, which tells me it is loose. A loose sun roof structural system is not good, as driving on a freeway / highway at a higher speed could possibly cause the sun roof to become detached and fly off of the vehicle, or dislodge enough to distract the driver. Another secondary problem that has happened because of this loose, cracked sun roof track/frame, is that water has now been leaking into the car (possibly causing mold and condensation which has fogged up the windshield while driving) and slippery conditions all over the track/frame. This water drips through the overhead electrical panel, the headliner and down into the speakers. This can cause an electrical shortage in the vehicle, or shock. Water dripping into the car while driving on a rainy day on the freeway, can cause major distraction to the driver in dangerous conditions. The vehicle and sun roof issue have been inspected by the VW dealer, auto shop, and insurance. The VW dealer did tell me they have this issue often for these same models (they were fixing one as i was talking to them) and I have seen lawsuits online for this same issue. The car has never warned me about this issue, there are no warning lamps or messages pertaining to this. Nothing has ever severely impacted the car to cause this problem (It has never been in an accident). Please note, I have not used / opened / activated / operated this sun roof since this issue began back in December 2021. Car Insurance has offered to pay for a new headliner, but not for sun roof repair. The lifetime warranty has declined to pay for the repair because water has been involved (even though water is a secondary issue to the initial issue of a crack developing in the sun roof track/frame under normal dry warm conditions).

THIS CAR WAS PURCHASED AS A CERTIFIED VEHICLE AFTER RECEIVING THE EMISSIONS FIX. AFTER LESS THAN 10,000 MILES AND ONLY ONE YEAR OF OWNERSHIP, ALL MY DASHBOARD WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON (INCLUDING AIRBAG ERROR) AND THE FLOOR MATS WERE SOAKED WHEN I STARTED MY CAR AFTER A SEVERE RAIN STORM. I WAS TOLD THE SUNROOF DRAINS WERE PLUGGED AND CAUSED THE ELECTRICAL ISSUES. THE DRAIN BEING PLUGGED WITH DEBRIS IS CONSIDERED AN EXTERNAL FACTOR AND THEREFORE THE REPAIRS ARE NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY OF THIS CERTIFIED CAR. THE OWNER'S MANUAL INDICATES THAT MAINTENANCE ON THE SUN ROOF DRAINS IS RECOMMENDED AT 40,000 MILES. AS NOTED, THE CAR WAS BELOW THE 40,000 MARK BUT HAD SAT IDLE FOR OVER A YEAR BETWEEN THE TIME IT WAS BOUGHT BACK FROM THE ORIGINAL CUSTOMER TO WHEN IT WAS SOLD AS A CERTIFIED VEHICLE.

WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MILES PER HOUR THE CAR CAME UP WITH AN ALERT OF ELECTRICAL FAULT STOP NOW AND THE POWERTRAIN SHUT DOWN WITH ZERO THROTTLE RESPONSE. I WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO THE RIGHT LANE AND PARTY INTO A DRIVEWAY OF A FAST FOOD RESTAURANT. I WAS UNABLE TO TURN OFF THE CAR, I GOT OUT AND PUSHED IT INTO THE PARKING LOT. EVENTUALLY THE CAR TURNED OFF AND AFTER A FEW ATTEMPTS I WAS ABLE TO TURN IT BACK ON. I WAS IN "B" MODE (REGENERATIVE BRAKING MODE) AND DECIDED TO DRIVE IT IN "D" (REGULAR DRIVE) THE EXTRA 2 MILES HOME. THIS SHUTDOWN OFFERED NO WARNING AND NO "LIMP MODE", HAD I BEEN IN A BUSIER AREA THIS COULD EASILY HAVE LEAD TO A CRASH.

I LOST ALL POWER AND WAS FORCED TO PULL ACROSS THREE LANES OF TRAFFIC TO REACH THE SAFETY OF THE SHOULDER. WHILE NO ACCIDENT, THAT WAS MORE LUCK THAN ANYTHING ELSE AND GRACE OF OTHER DRIVERS ALLOWING ME TO DIRECTLY MOVE IN FRONT OF THEM. VEHICLE HAD CODE P32B2 AND P060C REPORTED BY VW REPORT AND REPLACED PARTS: 5QE-907-070-C AND 12E-998-152-A. DEALER WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION DESPITE MY CONTINUED REQUESTS IN TO THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. UPDATED 11/05/15 *BF THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER. IT HAS BEEN THERE SINCE JULY 28, 2015. THEY WERE STILL UNABLE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE AS OF AUGUST 26, 2015. THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO POWER AS THE BATTERY AND CHARGING SYSTEM FAILED AGAIN. While operating my 2015 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen, the ignition key becomes stuck in the steering column and does not release as designed. This appears related to known steering column defects and recalls (NHTSA Campaign 18V464000 / 19V615000). My dealer states my VIN is not covered, but this is a known issue for my model year. This creates a safety hazard as it may prevent the vehicle from being shut off or parked securely.

One night I started hearing a crunching noise while I was turning my wheel at low speeds. I backed out of a parking spot and started to turn the wheel to hear the full extent of the noise. The next morning, I got up and went out, backed up the car, turned the wheel to the same noise coming from the steering wheel. About an hour later, I drove home and turned into my parking spot, when the noise got worse and then stopped. At the end of the noise, two error codes arose: Airbag and transmission error. The steering wheel controls, such as volume and song control do not work, as well as other functions on the wheel, such as the dash control and cruise control buttons. I quickly googled the symptoms around the make, model and year and saw mass amounts of Volkswagen vehicles around 2015 that experienced the same issues, and the issue of a faulty clock-spring being the culprit. With this in mind, I reached out to a Volkswagen dealership to relay my concerns and the conversation ended with an appointment booked and a consensus that the issue was a faulty clock-spring, as many have had this issue. This issue seems to be widespread throughout many years and models of the Volkswagen line, however, my car follows a wide group of cars by one year in manufacture date, yet it lacks a recall part, despite the believed widespread affected group of cars. My appointment with the Volkswagen dealership went as expected- they found that my clock spring was indeed the issue. The service advisor admitted that the "clock-springs are bound to break." However, my car is 6,000 miles out of warranty to be able to cover the cost of this repair at the moment of typing this. And with further confirmation, the clock spring part is not a recalled part, thus deeming the uncovered service, despite the admittance to a faulty and common issue. I drove a significant distance to reach my dealership with the fear of my stearing wheel locking up while I am driving on the freeway. It has yet to lock.

The contact owns a 2015 Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle started to run rough. The contact shifted the vehicle into park(P) when she reached her destination and smelled an odor of gasoline. The contact observed that gasoline was leaking out of the fuel tank under the wheel well. The contact stated that the driveway was wet from the gasoline. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had attempted earlier in the day to fuel the vehicle and was unable to fill the fuel tank. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the fuel tank, fuel pump seal, fuel tank hardware, passenger’s side rear trailing arm bolts, heat shield nuts, purge valve, and evap canister needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The contact related the failure to a recall repair performed on the vehicle under NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V647000 (Fuel System, Gasoline, Engine and Engine Cooling). The failure mileage was approximately 68,000.

The contact owns a 2015 Volkswagen Golf. The contact noticed that the fuel pump would frequent stop while fueling the vehicle. The contact then stated that while his vehicle was being driven by a valet, fuel began to pour out of the fuel tank while on an incline. The valet attendant managed to drive the vehicle down a decline which stopped the leak. Despite the failure, the contact was able to drive the vehicle home. The vehicle was then driven to a dealer where a diagnostic test was performed. The dealer informed the contact that the suction pump, seal, and emission filter needed to be replaced. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V647000 (Fuel System, Gasoline, Engine and Engine Cooling) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. THE DRIVERS SIDE HIGH BEAM IS NOT AIMED PROPERLY, IT IS POINTED BELOW THE CUT-OFF LINE OF THE LOW BEAM. THE HEAD LAMP ASSEMBLY HAS BEEN REPLACED BY THE DEALER TWICE BUT THE AIM WAS NOT IMPROVED. VOLKSWAGEN WAS CONTACTED, THEY EVALUATED THE SITUATION AND SAID THAT THIS WAS THE WAY THE SYSTEM WAS DESIGNED AND SO COULD NOT BE FIXED. THE DEALER ALSO SAID THAT THEY LOOKED AT OTHER CARS OF THIS SAME MODEL AND THEY ALL OPERATED THE SAME. The emissions modification calibration by Volkswagen causes the coolant to be exposed to elevated temperatures due to higher exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) use to control emissions. These elevated higher temperatures degrade the coolant faster than designed and lead to precipitates falling out of solution in the factory filled G13 coolant. This causes buildup and deposits to form throughout the cooling system, particularly in the heater core which can block proper coolant flow & lead to coolant system failure, specifically of hoses associated with the heater core. When these fail the engine can over heat, and stop which causes loss of steering, propulsion and braking abilities. There is a similar problem on 2012 models with the TDI engine, which has been addressed but the 2015 models are being stranded on the roads creating a safety hazard to the drivers of the vehicles and other motorists on the road.

The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the gear shifter assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to parts not being available. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

Over the last two months, I've had over 30 incidences where the car will either randomly shift extremely hard into a gear or will hesitate, stutter, lose power while accelerating. Some of the shifts have been so hard that they've thrown me forward. Some of the losses of power are extremely dangerous as I'm accelerating at highway speeds. I have a full log of at least 30 of these incidents (and detailed as best I could) and they are attached. I picked May 11th because that was the hardest shift/loss of power which caused me the greatest harm. I've been able to reproduce the errors in drive, sport, and Tiptronic mode. The errors occur in all gears, but are most common in 2nd and 3rd (although the higher gears are involved as well), which leads me to believe it's not the transmission, yet the mechatronics unit or something outside of the transmission and engine itself. The troubling issue here is that the car is recording absolutely zero fault codes for diagnosis; that is, the car is shifting, stuttering, hesitating randomly and erratically and no diagnostics are being provided to resolve the issue. Technicians are able to guess what the issue is, but cannot give a guarantee what the problem is without the fault codes. This is the greatest safety concern, but luckily no crashes so far. I was interested to learn that there was a recall on the same model by the Australian government related to the pressure accumulator and I'd like to see if this could be the issue, since I'm experiencing the same symptoms as those described in the recall: https://www.vehiclerecalls.gov.au/recalls/rec-005369. The contact stated that the loss of power issue still persists. The contact stated the issue is a faulty crank trigger.

Ever since I purchased the car new, the backup camera goes blank above 5 mph. It is a major annoyance and safety issue to suddenly have to change my rear viewing options. When cold, the car fast idles at 6 or more mph in reverse with the camera offering no assistance. Complaints to the dealership yielded the answer that the factory had no fix. Now I see Honda recall 23V046 about the same condition that I'm experiencing and that appropriately Honda is fixing their problem. Can VW be invited to fix my problem (its problem)? I understand that my son's Toyota camera blanks above 30 mph, more than reasonable.

Discovered several inches of water in the spare tire boot area. The entire back seat was also soaked through. Water appears to be leaking into the car from rear pressure vents behind the bumper or from another undetermined source, posing risks including black mold and damage to the spare tire.

I backed up my car and upon turning the wheel I heard some crackling from the steering wheel. The airbag and transmission error lights came on and I lost functionality of all the buttons on the steering wheel and the horn. Based on research, this is a clock spring that has been recalled for other model years.

A defect that meets the definition of a nonconformity in Washington State, and that is covered under warranty, caused the vehicle to stall while driving and caused the vehicle to not accelerate when the accelerator was pressed. My safety was put at risk when this happened on a 50 mph road because vehicles behind me expected my vehicle in front of them to accelerate in a predictable way with the flow of traffic. Another time, a stall happened as I turned onto a highway. I had come to a stop, waited for the traffic light, and then turned right and pressed the accelerator as I normally would to get up to 50 mph. A flashing glow plug light came on, and the car immediately had zero propulsion, and so I turned the steering wheel to roll to the side of the road and turned on my hazard lights. I was fortunate that I was not rear-ended. On another occasion, I came off of the interstate as normal, but when I tried to drive over the overpass at a slight incline, the vehicle was unable to accelerate to 20 mph, and would only go about 5 mph no matter how much the accelerator was pressed. This happened multiple times, but not all of the time, and it was unpredictable when it would happen. It was dangerous to me because I could not time traffic circles with confidence that I would be able to press the accelerator and get up to speed without being struck from the left, or turn out onto busy roads with confidence I wouldn't be t-boned, or merge with traffic on the highway. The mileage on the vehicle at the first attempt to diagnose/repair the defect was 63935 on 10/11/2019 when a VW dealership diagnosed and replaced two glow plugs under warranty. Several more times it was warr. repaired. In November 2021, after the vehicle was repaired and failed on the dealership test drive, an engineer from Volkswagen inspected the vehicle, it was further repaired and released to me. A couple of months later, the vehicle stalled on a highway and a flashing glow plug light came on.

After turning on the vehicle, I turned the steering wheel and heard a click, then the airbag malfunction warning light came on immediately. Horn and all steering wheel buttons have stopped working (radio control, cruise control etc). and airbag warning light remains on. This seems obviously to be the broken clock spring problem. Vehicle has about 105,000 miles on it. I am not sure if the steering area was ever serviced during a previous safety recall, but I have never had any service on the steering wheel or issues in that area.

WHEN THE FIRE DEPT ARRIVED THEY USED A SPECIAL TOOL TO PRY THE HOOD OPEN AND USED THE RESIDENTIAL GARDEN HOSE TO DOUSE THE ENGINE TO STOP THE SMOLDERING AND REDUCE THE HEAT OF THE VEHICLE TO ASSURE IT WOULD NOT IGNITE AGAIN. THE CAR WAS ASSESSED AS TOTALED. I JUST BOUGHT IT FROM VW UPTOWN ABQ. IT WAS A TDI THAT HAD THE MODIFICATION FOR THE EMISSIONS CLASS ACTION SUIT.

I OWN A 2015 AND MY BACK SEATBELT HAS FAILED. IT WILL NOT LATCH. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED IT WOULD BE $120 CHARGE JUST TO DIAGNOSE AND SEE WHAT IS WRONG BEFORE REPLACING OR FIXING THE SEATBELT. AFTER THAT CHARGE HE COULDN'T SAY IF IT WOULD BE UNDER WARRANTY OR THE COST TO FIX IT. I AM NOTIFYING YOU OF THIS FAILURE AND COST BECAUSE THIS SEEMS LIKE SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE EVALUATED FOR NO COST DUE TO THE HIGH CONCERN FOR SAFETY. I FEEL VOLKSWAGEN IS PUTTING MONEY BEFORE SAFETY. THE DEALERSHIP I CONTACTED WAS LARRY MILLER IN LAKEWOOD CO.

THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF ON MY 2015 VW GOLF SE SPONTANEOUSLY EXPLODED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH ON THE FREEWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 9:15 PM ON 2/27/2017 ON HIGHWAY 880 IN OAKLAND, ABOUT 1/2 MILE SOUTH OF THE ORACLE COLISEUM. NO CARS WERE NEAR ME AND I WAS NOT UNDER A BRIDGE, THUS NO EVIDENCE THAT THE SUNROOF WAS STRUCK BY AN EXTERNAL OBJECT. THERE WAS ALSO NO VISIBLE EVIDENCE OF DAMAGE TO THE GLASS PRIOR TO ENTERING THE VEHICLE, I CHECK EVERY TIME I BUY GAS. THE GLASS SHATTERED SUDDENLY IN A LOUD EXPLOSION THAT SOUNDED LIKE A GUNSHOT AND SHARDS WERE SCATTERED THROUGHOUT THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE AND COVERED MYSELF AND MY PASSENGER - ALTHOUGH MOST OF THE SHARDS BLEW OUTWARD AND LANDED ON THE ROAD. THE EXPERIENCE WAS EXTREMELY FRIGHTENING AND COULD HAVE CAUSED SERIOUS INJURIES. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CALM AND SLOWLY DRIVE OFF THE FREEWAY RATHER THAN JERKING THE WHEEL WHEN THE EXPLOSION HAPPENED. THE ONLY INJURIES ARE EMOTIONAL AND 12 HOURS LATER I AM STILL FINDING SMALL SHARDS OF GLASS ON MY PERSON (HAIR, INSIDE MY MOUTH AND NOSE, ON MY CLOTHES).

2015 GOLF STARTED EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH THE ENGINE/TRANSMISSION AFTER FEB 5, 2016 ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. UPON STARTING CAR THE IDLE IS EXTREMELY ROUGH AND THEN A WARNING MESSAGE APPEARS THAT STARTS OUT WITH "TRANSMISSION..." GOES OFF QUICKLY BUT A HIGHLIGHTED EXCLAMATION POINT REMAINS. THE MESSAGE GOES OFF TOO QUICKLY TO CAPTURE A PICTURE OF IT. THE EXCLAMATION POINT AND ROUGH IDLE REMAINS UNTIL THE CAR IS TURNED OFF. WHEN THE CAR IS TURNED ON AGAIN IT IS FINE. THE CAR IS CURRENTLY AT A DEALER TO BE REPAIRED AS THEY STATE: WE HAVE TO REPLACE THE SHIFTER ASSEMBLY. I HAVE BEEN TOLD I CANNOT DRIVE IT, THAT THE CAR HAS TO STAY IN THE SHOP AND WAIT FOR A PART TO ARRIVE SOMETIME NEXT WEEK. THIS PROBLEM IS SEPARATE FROM THE OTHER PROBLEMS I HAVE EXPERIENCED: 1). THE RIGHT FRONT SEAT HEATER COME ON AND HEATS UP TO EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE DEGREES-- DEALER SAYS THEY CANNOT FIND A PROBLEM. 2). THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM GOES BLANK-- DOESN'T WORK-- DEALER CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM 3). A WARNING AND BEEPING THAT THE FRONT RIGHT SEAT BELT NEEDS TO BE FASTENED-- AND NO ONE IS IN THE SEAT, JUST A CELL PHONE. THIS GOLF ONLY HAS 10,600 MILES ON IT.... DID I PURCHASE A LEMON? THE DATE BELOW IS THE LAST TIME THE PROBLEM OCCURRED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 VOLKSWAGEN GOLF. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE TO 30 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL AND VEHICLE WOULD VIBRATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE AXLE NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE AXLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE STEERING WHEEL CONTINUED TO VIBRATE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 800.

I PURCHASED A 2015 VW GOLF TDI WITH 18" WHEELS AND LOW PROFILE PIRELLI TIRES AUGUST 2014. THIS VEHICLE WAS RE-ENGINEERED FOR THE US MARKET TO MAKE ROOM FOR THE UREA TANK THAT IS NEW AND SPECIFIC TO THE US TDI PLATFORM. ALL OTHER GOLF MODELS HAVE AN INDEPENDENT SUSPENSION SYSTEM WHILE THIS MODEL WAS DOWNGRADED TO A TORSION BEAM REAR SUSPENSION. THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED ON LOWER END MODELS WITH 16" WHEELS AND HIGHER PROFILE TIRES, BUT THE HIGH END VEHICLES HAVE THE 18" WHEELS AND LOW PROFILE TIRES AS STANDARD EQUIPMENT. ON APRIL 25, I NOTICED A SIDEWALL BUBBLE ON A FRONT TIRE. VW REPLACED BOTH THE TIRE AND BENT RIM AND I WAS TOLD THE OTHER 3 RIMS WERE BENT. THEN THE OTHER FRONT TIRE HAD A SIDEWALL BLOWOUT AND BOTH THAT TIRE AND WHEEL WERE REPLACED. THE OTHER WEEK I ENDED UP WITH A SIDE WALL NAIL IN A REAR TIRE. THIS TIRE WAS REPLACED BUT NOT THE WHEEL AND I WAS TOLD THAT ALL WHEELS ARE BENT, INCLUDING THE 2 NEW WHEELS. I HAVE JUST UNDER 18000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE, HAVE CALLED VW AMERICA AND WAS SENT THE SPEC SHEET ON THE CAR. I ASKED IF A CAR WITHOUT INDEPENDENT SUSPENSION WAS ENGINEERED FOR LOW PROFILE TIRES AND ASKED FOR SOMEONE TO EXPLAIN WHY I HAVE HAD 2 SIDEWALL ISSUES AND 6 BENT RIMS IN UNDER 18,000 MILES AND 11 MONTHS WITHOUT ANY RESPONSE OTHER THAN VW AMERICA SENDING THE SPEC SHEET. I FEEL THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND ASKED FOR THE SPECIFIC ENGINEERING APPROVAL OF LOW PROFILE TIRES WITH THIS SUSPENSION SYSTEM AND WAS TOLD VW AMERICA DOES NOT HAVE THIS INFORMATION AND WOULD NOT PROVIDE IT TO ME IF THEY DID.
