STEERING WHEEL MAKING A WHINING/RUBBING NOISE. FLUID LEAKING UNDER THE CAR. TOOK TO THE DEALER AND WAS FOUND TO HAVE TACK AND PINION IS BAD SPRAYING OUT POWER STEERING FLUID EVERYWHERE. WAS TOLD THAT THE STEERING WILL LOSE POWER AND BECOME EITHER HARD TO TURN OR NOT TURN AT ALL CAUSING DANGER TO OURSELVES AND OTHERS. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE THAT HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED BY GM.

I JUST GOT MY GMC 4 MONTHS AGO AND AFTER EVERY LIGHT AND ALARM HAS GONE OFF THE LEAK OF POWER STEERING FLUID HAS CAUSE ME TO TAKE TO A DEALER AND I HAVE BEEN GIVEN A $2600 BILL TO REPLACE THE RACK AND PINION AND PUMP. THIS IS NOT JUST AN ISSUED WITH MY GMC MY SISTER HAS A 2011 ACADIA AND HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS FOR SURE NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AS THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH IT.

THE VEHICLE STARTED GIVING US PROBLEMS. WHILE DRIVING AT NORMAL SPEEDS (25 - 30 MPH) THE MOTOR WILL START TO SHUTTER OR JUMP AROUND. AFTER TAKING IT OT A LOCAL DEALERSHIP WE FOUND THAT THE ISSUE IS A THE TIMING CHAIN. I ALSO DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THIS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM BETWEEN 120,000 AND 200,000 MILES. GM ONLY OFFERED AN EXTENSION UP TO 120,000 MILES. THIS IS A COSTLY REPAIR THAT WE CAN NOT AFFORD. GM KNOWS THIS IS A CONTINOUS PROBLEM BUT REFUSES TO TAKE RESPONSABILITY FOR IT. I AM GETTING A P0007 CODE AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON ALL THE TIME! I HAVE BEEN A LOYAL GM CUSTOMER FOR 20 PLUS YEARS. MOST RECENTLY I HAVE BEEN CONSIDERING LEAVING THEM FOR ANOTHER MANUFACTURER SINCE THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME BEING SCREWED OVER BY THEM IN THE PAST 3 - 4 YEARS.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 123,499.

There was a recall for gmc premature timing chain engine recall. This recall was complete in 2011 but it did not fix the problem. The timing chain keeps breaking off the cam shaft sensor and needs to be replaced.

Got code po0008 crank sensor/cam did resurch said timming chain replaced complete chain still noisey changed cam phasers and sensors still making noise it is so frustrating bee going on 3 weeks I'm disabled not easy to work on myself being I'm a master technician and this has really been mind boggling

The contact owns a 2009 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that after purchase of the vehicle, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled while driving at 45 MPH. There was no warning light illuminated. Despite the failure, the contact was able to coast the vehicle to a stop as the vehicle failed to restart after multiple attempts. The contact's husband inspected the engine and had the vehicle towed to the residence. The contact's husband replaced the crank shaft position sensor, purge valve, high pressure tank, fuel pump, and battery; however, the failure persisted. The contact then towed the vehicle to an independent mechanic where it diagnosed with engine failure due to the timing chain, and a cylinder #1 and #5 defect. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that there were no recalls on the vehicle related to the engine. The vehicle remained in possession of the mechanic unrepaired. The failure mileage was 194,726.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND ENGINE LOST POWER DURING RUSH HOUR COMING HOME. LOST AT LEAST 50% POWER, VERY LITTLE ACCELERATION AND QUITE THE CHALLENGE TO MERGE OVER 4 LANES TO GET TO THE SHOLDER OF THE HIGHWAY. CODE WAS CHECKED AND CODE WAS FOR TIMING. MECHANIC PULLED TIMING CHAIN COVER AND FOUND THAT IT WAS STRETCHED. HE TOLD ME THE 3.6 ENGINE WAS WELL KNOWN FOR THIS. TWO FREAKING MONTHS AFTER WE PAID IT OFF. WILL NOT PURCHASE ANOTHER ACADIA AND WILL STAY AWAY FROM ENCAVE AND TRAVERSE AS WELL AS THEY HAVE SAME ENGINE IN MANY. VERY DISCOURAGED THEY WOULD KNOWINGLY ALLOW THIS ISSUE TO GO ON WITHOUT BEING ADDRESSED.

THE LIGHTING HOUSING IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE TYPE OF HEADLIGHTS BECAUSE THEY OVER HEAT IT AND CAUSE THE RUNNING LIGHTS TO MELT THE HOUSING AND CAUSE THE BULBS GO STICK TO IT AND THEN YOUR HEADLIGHTS DON'T WORK . THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW FLUCTUATES BETWEEN WORKING AND NOT WORKING IT'S INTERMITTENT. IN VERY COLD WEATHER (UNDER 20 DEGREES F) AND IN WET CONDITIONS (RAIN/CARWASH) THE REAR TURN SIGNALS DO NOT WORK AND IT APPEARS THE BREAKS PEDAL IS ENGAGED (LIGHTS ARE BRIGHT). ALSO IN THE SAME CONDITIONS, THE BACK UP CAMERA IMAGES STAYS ON FOR A MINUTE OR MORE EVEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS TRAVELING FORWARD. WHEN THE TEMPERATURE TURNS WARM AND THE VEHICLE HAS A CHANCE TO DRY THE PROBLEMS GOES AWAY. IT STARTED IN WINTER 2016 AND RETURNED WINTER 2017.

MY 2009 GMC ACADIA WAS SITTING IN MY MOTHERS DRIVEWAY, WHEN A NEIGHBORHOOD CAME AND SAID MY CAR WAS ON FIRE. IT WAS NOT RUNNING AND NO SIGNS OF ARSON. I WAS EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS DRIVING MY VEHICLE. IT WAS RIDING ROUGH AND MAKING A LOUD NOISE WHEN I ACCELERATED, SO I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC AND I GOT SPARK PLUGS AND AN OIL CHANGE-STILL WAS RIDING ROUGH. I WENT BACK AND GOT A CAM SHAFT POSITION REPLACED-STILL NOTHING CHANGED. I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER MECHANIC. HE SAID IT WAS AN O2 CENSOR. CHANGED IT AND NOTHING CHANGED. NO ONE COULD TELL ME WHAT WAS WRONG OR WHAT THE NOISE WAS. FINALLY ONE MORNING ON MY WAY TO WORK I HAD TO PULL OVER ON THE HIGHWAY BC THE CAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE. GOT IT TOWED TO A DIFFERENT MECHANIC AND THAT'S WHEN I FOUND OUT IT WAS THE TIMING CHAIN. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I WAS GETTING QUOTES FOR $2000-$2500. FINALLY ONE PLACE TOLD ME TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL. I CALLED GMC. THEY SAID THERE IS A RECALL ON THE TIMING CHAIN. THEY CONNECTED ME WITH A LOCAL GMC DEALER WHO INFORMED ME AFTER EVALUATING MY VEHICLE THAT IT'S OUT OF WARRANTY AND 5000 MILES OVER THE LIMIT. WELL I'M STILL PAYING FOR THIS VEHICLE AND I OWE $5000 ON IT. CLEARLY I WAS SOLD A LEMON BUT WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS NOW?

WE PURCHASED A 2009 ACADIA FROM A REPUTABLE DEALER THAT CLAIMS QUALITY IN REGARDS TO THEIR USED VEHICLES. WE HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE FOR 6 MONTHS AND THE VEHICLE HAS LEFT ME STRANDED ON DIFFERENT OCCASIONS AND COMPROMISED OTHERS INDIVIDUALS AND MY OWN WELL BEING. FIRST INCIDENT THE CAR WAS IN GEAR BUT WOULD NOT START. WE NEVER FOUND THE REASON THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. THE BATTERY FULLY CHARGED. NO OTHER ISSUES NOTED. SECOND INCIDENT THE VEHICLE THE VEHICLE AGAIN DID NOT START AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO START. EVENTUALLY CAR JUST STARTED, NO ISSUE WAS UNCOVERED AS THE CULPRIT. THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED OUT OF THE BLUE WHILE IN ROUTE TO RESPOND TO AN EMERGENCY CALL AND HAD THE WATER PUMP REPLACED. WHILE ON THE INTERSTATE WITH MY 4 MONTH OLD GRANDSON THE VEHICLE JERKED AFTER REACHING THE SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH AND THEN THE RPM REGISTERED ABOUT 3800 TO 4500 AND THE VEHICLE CAME TO A CRAWL ON THE INTERSTATE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I TOOK IT HAD DIAGNOSTICS RAN AND IT INDICATED TRANSMISSION CONCERNS. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THE LIGHT HAD GONE OFF AND THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING FOUND. MY HUSBAND AND I LEFT AND WHILE IN ROUTE TO ANOTHER CITY THE VEHICLE AGAIN JERKED AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH AND THE RPM ONCE AGAIN REGISTERED BETWEEN 3500 AND 4500. WE WERE ABLE TO CRAWL ALONG AT ABOUT 25 MPH AND BARELY MADE IT SAFELY TO A CERTIFIED GMC DEALER WHICH STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS COMPLETELY GONE AND WE NEEDED ANOTHER AND THE COST WOULD BE APPROXIMATELY $3900. THE DEALER REFUSES TO HONOR OR STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. WE RECENTLY HAD THE VEHICLE AT THE DEALER TO ENSURE SAFETY RECALLS WERE TAKEN CARE OF, THE DEALER INDICATING NO CONCERNS AFTER A "PROPOSED" INSPECTION. TRANSMISSION HAD A HARD SHIFT INTO REVERSE. DIAGNOSIS WAS THE 3-5-R WAVE PLATE AND UPON READING OTHER COMPLAINTS SEEMS TO BE COMMON. TRANSMISSION SHOP THEORY IS THAT THE WAVE PLATE WAS HARDENED TOO MUCH AND BECAME BRITTLE WITH THE FLEXING CAUSING IT TO BREAK. ASIDE FROM ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, I HAVE ALREADY HAD TO REPLACE THE WATER PUMP, THE RADIATOR, & THE TIMING BELT (NONE OF WHICH WERE COVERED UNDER MY WARRANTY) BUT ON SEPTEMBER 9, 2013 , MY TRANSMISSION LET GO. PASSENGER SIDE LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHT FAILED. UPON INSPECTION, IT APPEARS THE LIGHT SOCKET ITSELF HAS MELTED AND CAUSED THE WIRING SHIELDING TO MELT AS WELL. ONCE I HAD TURNED THE IGNITION OFF, THE ENGINE DID SHUT DOWN THE WAY IT SHOULD HAVE. ONCE THAT WAS ACCOMPLISHED, I STARTED THE ENGINE UP AGAIN AND IT RAN WITHOUT ANY FURTHER INCIDENT. IT WAS A FEW MONTHS LATER BEFORE ANOTHER SUCH INCIDENT OCCURRED. THE SECOND TIME THIS SAME TYPE OF SITUATION OCCURRED UNDER VIRTUALLY IDENTICAL CIRCUMSTANCES, I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO PAT MCGRATH GMC'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND EXPLAINED WHAT HAD HAPPENED. THE SERVICE MANAGER IMMEDIATELY DROVE THE CARE TO TEST IT, BUT NATURALLY THE CAR DIDN'T ACT UP. AT THAT POINT THEY ATTACHED A MONITOR TO IT AND TOLD ME TO DRIVE IT UNTIL THE PROBLEM RECURRED, BUT AFTER A WEEK OF NO SUCH PROBLEM OCCURRING, I HAD THEM REMOVE THE MONITOR IRONICALLY, THE PROBLEM OCCURRED UNDER EXACTLY THE SAME CIRCUMSTANCES THE NEXT MORNING. SO FAR I HAVE HAD THIS SAME EXPERIENCE RECUR APPROXIMATELY 6-7 TIMES AS I HAVE BEEN SLOWING DOWN TO STOP THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE WOULD REV UP BADLY, BUT I ALREADY HAD THE BRAKE ON TO STOP IT, PUT IT INTO NEUTRAL AND SHUT IT OFF. THE ABOVE MILEAGE AND DATES ARE APPROXIMATE--DEALER AND GMC (CASE #[XXX]) ARE AWARE OF PROBLEM WHICH INVOLVES A SUDDEN POWER SURGE AS I HAVE BEEN STOPPING AT MY MAILBOX, STOPPING AT STOP SIGN AND PULLING INTO PARKING PLACE. VEHICLE HAD A SLIGHT MISFIRING WHEN CLIMBING INCLINE. WE REPLACED TWO SPARK PLUGS. MISFIRING CALMED DOWN. A COUPLE DAYS LATER MISFIRING RESUMED. TOWED MY CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY KEEP IT FOR ABOUT 8 DAYS SAYING THEY WERE VERY BEHIND. NOTIFIED THEM THAT MY CAR WAS COMING IN FOR SERVICE AND WAS NEVER TOLD THEY WAS BEHIND. FINALLY ABOUT 7 DAYS LATER THE DEALERSHIP IS SAYING THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY CAR. THEN ON THE 9 DAY THE SERVICE GUY CALLS ME AND SAYS THEY THINK ITS THE MOTOR BUT THEY WOULD HAVE TO TAKE IT OUT TO SEE. POSSIBLE COST WOULD BE ANY WHERE FROM $4,000 TO $7,000 TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THERE ARE SEVERAL SPECIAL COVERAGE OPEN ON MY CAR SUCH AS TIMING CHAIN , WATER PUMP SHAFT SEAL, LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND THROTTLE BODY. AFTER READING OTHER GMC CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS I FEEL IT IS THE THROTTLE BODY THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT 45MPH I RECEIVED A LOW OIL PRESSURE SHUT OFF ENGINE. OIL WAS FINE SO WE TOOK IT TO HAVE THE OIL CHANGED. LIGHT CAME BACK ON. THERE ARE NO CODES BEING STORED IN THE SYSTEM. EVERYONE IS GUESSING WHAT COULD BE WRONG WITH IT FROM A BAD OIL PUMP OR THE PAN NEEDS TO BE CLEANED. THERE IS A FORUM A BUNCH OF OTHER PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND SPENDING THOUSANDS AND GETTING NOWHERE. SOME HAVE HAD TO HAVE A WHOLE NEW ENGINE INSTALLED. GM SAYS THERE ARE NO BULLETINS AND THEY WILL GIVE ME A 100 $ FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE SERVICED BY A TECH. JUST TO BE CHECKED IS 250 $ NOT INCLUDING ANY FIXES FOR THE ISSUE.

I HAD PURCHASED THE VEHICLE USED FROM WHAT I HAD THOUGHT WAS A REPUTABLE DEALER, BOY WAS I WRONG. I SLOWED DOWN , BUT THE SHAKE , VIBRATION CONTINUED. FINALLY IT DID STRAIGHTEN OUT, AND I GOT HOME. A COUPLE DAYS LATER ON MY WAY TO WORK THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, AND THAN THE SERVICE ALL WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM LIGHT CAME ON. THE NEXT DAY MY DAD WHO IS A MECHANIC, DROVE IT AND IT SHOOK AND VIBRATED SO BAD , HE THOUGHT THE WHEELS WERE FALLING OFF. CAME BACK AND PUT IT IN THE WORKSHOP AND CHECKED THE WHEELS FOR TIGHTNESS, THEY WERE OK. NOTICED A RATHER LARGE COOLANT LEAK ABOVE THE WATER PUMP ,, SEEMED TO BE COMING FROM UNDER INTAKE AREA. ON 1 / 5 / 15 THE DEALER CALLED US AND INDICATED THERE WAS A UPPER RADIATOR HOSE THAT THE CLAMP WAS LOOSE. I TOLD THEM IT WAS NOT AND MY DAD KNOWS WHERE IT WAS FROM. THEY ALSO STATED THAT THEY DROVE IT AND COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEMS WITH IT. AFTER TELLING ME THAT THEY SAID THAT THEY ARE A FORD DEALER AND DO NOT HAVE THE TOOLS TO DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE. RIGHT AFTER THAT THE GENERAL MANAGER SAYS THAT HE DID NOTICE A PROBLEM WITH SHIFTING , BUT ITS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. I TOOK MY 2009 ACADIA INTO THE GMC DEALER WITH AROUND 65,000 MILES ON IT AFTER BUYING IT USED (1 PREVIOUS OWNER) WITH AROUND 42,000 MILES. THEY TOLD ME I HAD A POWER STEERING LEAK IN THE RACK AND PINION AND IT WOULD COST AROUND $2000 TO REPLACE A SEAL BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO PULL THE WHOLE RACK OFF. HE TOLD ME IT WOULD BE OKAY FOR A WHILE, BUT EVENTUALLY IT WOULD CAUSE THE POWER STEERING TO GO OUT. AFTER RESEARCHING, I'VE SEEN MULTIPLE OTHER ACADIA OWNERS WHO HAVE HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE REFUSED TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS BECAUSE I THINK THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT HAS EFFECTED ENOUGH OF THIS MODEL VEHICLE TO WARRANT A GENERAL SAFETY RECALL. THE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT AIRBAG TURNS ON WITH NO ONE AND NOTHING IN THE SEAT. I HAVE BEEN MADE AWARE THAT ELECTRICAL DEVICES CAN TURN IT ON BUT THIS IS NOT THE CASE, I CAN HAVE NOTHING IN THE SEAT AND IT TURNS ON AND DINGS WHILE DRIVING WHICH IS A DISTRACTION. WHEN ACCELERATING, MY CAR SEEMS TO 'SLIP' OR 'STUTTER' BEFORE CLICKING INTO GEAR. THIS HAPPENED IN THE FIRST YEAR OF OWNERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP NEVER ACKNOWLEDGED IT WHEN I WOULD BRING IT IN TO GET CHECKED. AFTER A FEW YEARS OF OWNING IT I NOW KNOW THAT IT IS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE VERY COMMON WITH THE GMC ACADIA. I HAVE READ THAT IT IS A FAULTY WAVE PLATE. NOT SURE WHAT THAT IS BUT NOW WITH ONLY 50,000 ON MY CAR IT IS REALLY BAD. IT BARELY MADE IT HOME LAST NIGHT. TRANSMISSION IS TOTALLY SLIPPING AND EVEN WHEN JUST DRIVING ALONG AT THE SAME SPEED IT WENT INTO LIMP MODE. THE GAS REVVED LIKE I WAS IN NEUTRAL. VARIOUS GM VEHICLES HAVE A KNOWN DEFECT THAT ALLOWS WATER FROM THE SUN ROOF DRAIN TO ENTER THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT AND MORE IMPORTANTLY ALLOWS WATER TO ENTER THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT FUSE BLOCK. THIS DEFECT IS COVERED UNDER SERVICE BULLETIN #08-08-57-003C. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL SYSTEM ISSUES THAT ONLY OCCUR DURING HEAVY RAINS AND THE DEALER HAS BEEN UNABLE TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM AFTER THINGS HAVE DRIED OUT SO TO SPEAK. MOST RECENTLY AFTER A HEAVY RAIN, THE BATTERY WAS DEAD AND WHEN REPLACED WITH A NEW BATTERY, THE ENGINE WOULD NOT SHUT OFF EVEN AFTER THE KEY WAS REMOVED. I HAVE CONTINUED TO HAVE ISSUES WITH THE STEERING IN MY ACADIA. WE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND DESCRIBED THE NOISE IT WAS MAKING AND THEY SAID IT WAS NORMAL AND IT WAS JUST THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE KICKING IN. NOW THE STEERING IS COMPLETELY OUT. WE WERE IN A BUSY PARKING LOT WHEN IT HAPPENED AND ALMOST HIT A PEDESTRIAN AS THE STEERING WENT OUT AS WE WERE TURNING LEFT. THE CAR WAS MOVING SLOWLY AT THE TIME. I AM NOW SEEING SEVERAL FORUMS WHERE OTHERS ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. THERE IS EVEN A PENDING LAWSUIT. THERE IS ALSO AN ISSUE WITH THE ELECTRIC WHERE THE SAFETY POWER LOCKS DO NOT WORK. INCIDENT (FIRST BIG SYMPTOM): BRAKING AND SLOWING TO YIELD SIGN FROM OFFRAMP/ STEERING FELT AS IF IGNITION TURNED OFF AND CAR BECAME MUCH LESS STABLE IN STEERING WITH A STIFFENING AND RATTLING/TAPPING NOISE SOMEWHERE JUST LEFT TO THE CENTER OF THE STEERING WHEEL. ONCE TRYING TO TURN REALIZED THERE WAS NO POWER, THOUGHT THE ENGINE HAD STOPPED RUNNING AND THEN HITTING THE GAS THE STEERING SUDDENLY POPS BACK INTO ASSIST. THIS IS A VERY UNSETTLING FIRST OCCURRENCE THAT I SEE ON MULTIPLE INTERNET SITES HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE AT LEAST 2011 IN MANY DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF THIS CHASSIS. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO HAVE KNOWN THIS BEFORE TWO THINGS: 1. BEFORE I HAD MY FOUR DAUGHTERS AND THE NEIGHBORS KID IN MY CAR TO PUT AT RISK OF KILLING THEM ( GM SHAME ON YOU AS YOU THIS PROBLEM EXISTS FOR 4 YEARS) 2. BEFORE THE WARRANTY WAS ONE MONTH OUT OF CONTRACT. THE DEALER STATES THIS IS "UNUSUAL TO THEM', THEY HAVE NOT HEARD OF IT HAPPENING AND DO NOT THINK IT IS UNUSUAL THAT A VEHICLE WITH ONLY 58000 MILES ON IT HAS THE ENTIRE STEERING PUMP, GEAR, AND RACK ASSEMBLY BLOW SEALS. REPAIR COSTS ARE QUOTED AT 2000.00. NEED TO REPLACE RACK, PUMP AND SOMETHING ELSE. ADDITIONALLY, THERE ARE 56 POSTS RELATING TO STEERING ALONE. SOME OF US DRIVING THESE VEHICLES FEEL THAT BEING ABLE TO HAVE A CHANCE OF PILOTING THE CAR SAFELY MAY BE IMPORTANT. IN SEPTEMBER 2014, RECALL #14187 WAS PREFORMED AND REPAIR ON MY VEHICLE. HOWEVER NOW IS SEPTEMBER OF 2015, WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE, THE SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT STARTED COMING ON. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP TO LOOK AT UNDER AIR BAG LIGHT SPECIAL COVERAGE AND WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT COVERED. BECAUSE WE WERE NOT STATIONED AS SAME STATE AS WHERE WE BOUGHT IT, NO GMC DEALERSHIP WOULD TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK AS A LEMON. TWICE WE RAN FROM THE VEHICLE FEARING FOR OUR LIFE BECAUSE IT STALLED, SMOKED, AND HAD THE SMELL OF GAS IN THE CABIN AREA. The stabilizer/traction control keeps going off and it will stay off.i can turn,hit a bump or start it up and the traction control/stabilizer system is off.i almost had a accident on the freeway in the rain because it turned off out of nowhere and I almost lost control. Also I was going down the road and all of a sudden my vehicle died and I had little control over vehicle. Once it came to stop it would not start again and when attempting it sounded like something was stuck in my fan or something because of the way it rattled and sounded and was rough sounding. Vehicle was inoperable and had to be towed. Upon investigating it was the timing chain kit that had failed suddenly for no apparent reason. Vehicle was well maintained and kept accordance with running policies and practices required and suggested by manufacturer. Still the failing caused engine damage that is well in to the several thousands of dollars and engine must be replaced due to this issue failing and I have noticed several thousand people having this same very issue and rendering them a foot and vehicle less due to the high cost of fixing without any warning or engine light or code suggesting of the timing chain kit failing or about to fail before stranding a person wherever and whenever unexpectedly and suddenly without any warning or check engine light at all. No OEM code to validate the issue either. Manufacturer should be held liable for the exact same issue occuring in so many of the multitude of people experiencing the same exact issue causing financial turmoil and risk of disaster or collision and harm when the timing chain kit fails suddenly. This is a huge and vast problem I have found with multitude of Acadia owners and should be addressed because to not honor a issue of so many experiencing the same issue occuring should be reconciled and corrected at the manufacturer cost due to it being their liability in making the faulty part of device to begin with causing vast financial hardships.

When it rains the drainage holes in the sunroof of the vehicle do not drain properly. The water runs down the side of the passenger side window in the front and on the circuit/fuse box in the front. When this happens, the water effects the driving. The vehicle will get sluggish and eventually cut off when the circuit/fuse box gets wet. The vehicle had a recall in approximately 2015 and I took it to be serviced. I think the problem is reproduced. I had no warnings of this type of issue. This just happened in April 2023 when I was caught in a storm.

I still don’t understand why they would put a battery behind my passanger seat infront of the back seat on the floor this is very dangerous. Second I still have no clue why this car has no recalls because if you look this car up it has so many problems it’s a lemon car for sure I had to put a catalytic converters in my car three times the same one three times and then the last time I changed all three of them when only one needed to be changed! 1.)What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? A.) To start with i went in to the dealership for a timing chain recall they said the work was performed. This was never done all they did was replace ECU from an older car so that the code would not come back (REPLACED WITH A 2002 ECU) to get rid of the timing chain recall code. this code never existed in 2002..Complete negligence these SUV could hurt or kill someone B.)Huge Electrical issue suv stops on its own while driving. Sometimes does not start at all. can not pass emission for the life of it .. new codes all the time i have replaced just about Every sensor and switch there is.. . this is a money pit and death trap.. C.) The Investigation NHTSA should have included the Lambda Frame it's the same design flaw they're trying to fix one problem with an old problem. The ones on these have this fixed tie rods, lateral arms and upper control arms the bushings will wear out eventually and repeat the bouncing up and down rocking back and forth rear end barely staying on the ground it's a very dangerous ride and you see these vehicles on the expressway on a daily basis you look at them for what you know now I get really nervous seeing these vehicles. Arcadia rollovers Call it what you will it's the same problem the needs a total redesign it's defective anyway you look at it. Just looking to how many Roll over there are with this body frame and suspension it's got its own self-contained pit maneuver. I believe GM is aware of these issues that's why they're giving everybody a hard time to fix it they run and say something else. Looks like we're getting back to too big to fail. D.) What makes this vehicle even more unsafe and very dangerous is the fact that the reluctor wheel can slip. This will sundown false DTC codes thinking that problems exist other places spending lots of money an unnecessary work when along GM knew about this problem once again.

I GO THROUGH HEADLIGHTS EVERY 6 MONTHS THIS LAST TIME, MY DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT GOT REPLACED AND TWO DAYS LATER IT WENT OUT AND THE GLASS WAS SHATTERED. I WENT AND GOT NEW BULB AND IT DID NOT WORK, AFTER INSPECTING THE THE WIRING WE NOTICED IT WAS BURNT UP AND NEED REPLACED, GMC SAID IT'S ON US. WE HAVE SPOKE WITH GMC ABOUT OUR ENGINE BURNING OIL WHICH THEY ARE WELL AWARE OF AND THE DEALERSHIP TRIED TO HELP BUT GMC REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING MY CAR SEND A SIGNAL TELLING ME TO TURN OFF THE CAR OR STARTS MISS FIRING EVERY WHICH WAY AND GIVES CODES SAYING I NEED NEW COILS WHICH IS NOT THE CASE. THE AIR BAG LIGHT GOES OFF SAYING THAT THERE IS SOMEONE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT BECAUSE THE CALIBRATION GET OFF, IT TOOK MCDANIEL'S TO FIGURE IT OUT THE OTHER DEALERSHIP BLAMED IT ON ELECTRONICS. I'VE HAD ELECTRICAL ISSUES WITH THE RADIO. EVERY SINGLE TIME IT RAINS THE SPEAKERS GO OUT. WAS DRIVING TO THE STORE, STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT, AND WHEN IT TURNED GREEN, I HIT THE GAS. MY CAR DIDN'T GO. I KEPT MY FOOT ON THE PEDAL WITH THE SAME AMOUNT OF PRESSURE AND IT STARTED TO GO, BUT AFTER A FEW SECONDS IT JUST KICKED REAL HARD INTO FIRST GEAR. FELT LIKE SOMEONE REAR ENDED ME. TAKATA RECALL: I'M HAVING IDLE/STALLING ISSUES WITH MY 2009 GMC ACADIA. CAR CUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING CAUSING A SAFETY HAZARD. FIRST, I HAD MY CAR INSPECTED BY LOCAL LICENSED MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED A TIMING CHAIN ISSUE AND CAT CONVERTER ISSUE. I FOLLOWED BY CALL A GMC DEALER AND INFORMING THEM OF MY CAR PROBLEMS. THEY SCHEDULED MY CAR FOR AN INSPECTION SINCE THEY HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR TIMING CHAINS. THEY INSPECTED MY VEHICLE AND INFORMED ME SINCE THE TIMING CHAIN WASN'T MAKING NOISES THEY WOULDN'T DIAGNOSE IT AS A PROBLEM. THEY RELEASED MY CAR WITHOUT FIXING IT AND MY CAR STILL CUTS OFF AND IDLES WHILE DRIVING. THEY ALSO TOLD ME ABOUT MANY OTHER ISSUES FOUND DURING THE DIAGNOSTIC TOTALING OVER $8000 IN REPAIRS. I CALLED AND COMPLAINED TO GMC AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEIR ARE ACTUALLY MANY OTHER ADDITIONAL PARTS WARRANTY'S/COVERAGES THAT THEY HAVE AND MAY BE ABLE TO ASSIST ME WITH. I FIND THIS VERY CONCERNING AS THE GMC DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO PROPERLY DIAGNOSE AND SERVICE MY VEHICLE, ALONG WITH THE FACT THAT GMC HAS SECRET ADDITIONAL WANRRANTIES/COVERAGES THAT THE GENERAL PUBLIC DOESN'T KNOW ABOUT MY CAR WAS IN THE GMC DEALER SHOP FOR 4 DAYS AND THEY REFUSED TO ASSIST ME WITH A LOANER VEHICLE WHILE MY CAR WAS BEING INSPECTED. WE'VE HAD ELECTRICAL ISSUES BEGINNING ABOUT 2 YEARS AFTER BUYING THE ACADIA. CURRENTLY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON. WE HAD IT CHECKED AT THE DEALERSHIP AND WERE TOLD THAT IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. THE PROBLEM WAS PROBABLY PART OF THE ELECTRICAL ISSUES. WELL, IT WASN'T. NOW THE STEERING IS DIFFICULT (AND LOCKS UP AT LOW SPEED TURNS) AND THE STABILITREK MESSAGE COMES ON. WE TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TODAY AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT WE NEED TO PAY FOR REPAIRS TO SERVICE THE BRAKE SYSTEM, STABILITREK MESSAGE, REPLACE THE BRAKE POWER BOOSTER AND MASTER CYLINDER, AND REPAIR THE TIRE PRESSURE SYSTEM LIGHT AND SENSOR. THEY THINK THIS MAY FIX THE STEERING ISSUE, BUT IF NOT THEN THEY'LL LOOK MORE INTO THAT! I KNOW THERE ARE AT LEAST 195 SERVICE BULLETINS FOR THIS YEAR MODEL ACADIA. WE BOUGHT IT NEW. IT'S SEVEN YEARS OLD WITH LOW MILEAGE. THEY SAID IT ISN'T SAFE TO DRIVE EXCEPT IN TOWN AT LOW SPEEDS. I FEEL LIKE WE'RE BEING GIVEN THE RUN-AROUND BY GM VIA OUR DEALERSHIP. IT'S NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT (OTHER THAN KNOCKING OFF THE SIDE MIRROR UPON EXITING THE GARAGE), AND IT'S NOT DRIVEN IN A ROUGH-SHOD MANNER. UGH! THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE WATER PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE PART. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND INDICATED THAT THEY ALSO HAD CAMPAIGNS THAT NEEDED TO BE ADDRESSED. THE TIMING CHAIN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, THERE WAS A LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSIST, AND THE TRANSMISSION CUTLET LEAVE PLATE FAILED. THERE WERE NO RECALLS. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DAY TIME RUNNING LIGHTS FAILED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE DEALER, PER THE CONTACT'S REQUEST, DISCONNECTED THE DAY TIME RUNNING LIGHTS TO PREVENT THE FAILURE FROM RECURRING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND PROVIDED NO REMEDY. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED THE REAR LIFTGATE CLOSING WITH FORCE, WHICH BRUISED HIS HEAD. CAR STALLS AS I AM TURNING INTO PARKING SPOTS, TURNING OR GOING AROUND SIGNIFICANT CURVES IN THE ROAD, WHILE IM IN A ROUND ABOUT ETC. ALTHOUGH SHE DIDN'T TELL ME EVERYTHING THAT THEY DID TO TRY AND RESOLVE THE ISSUE, I DO KNOW THAT THEY WENT AS FAR AS TO REPLACE THE CYLINDER HEAD HOPING THAT WOULD SOLVE THE ISSUE, BUT CLEARLY IT DID NOT. MY SON WAS DRIVING DOWN A RESIDENTIAL STREET WHICH HAS A RIGHT TURN/MERGE OVER A CANAL. UPON REACHING THE RIGHT TURN THE POWER STEERING FAILED AND HE WAS UNABLE TO NAVIGATE THE TURN. THE ACADIA DROVE FORWARD INTO A LARGE PIPE WHICH CROSSES OVER THE CANAL. THE FRONT OF THE ACADIA WAS CRASHED INCLUDING THE FRONT BUMPER, RADIATOR, HEAD LAMPS, ENGINE, DRIVER SIDE FRONT PANEL, PASSENGER SIDE PANEL, AND THE FRAME. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED DURING THIS CRASH. THERE IS A RECALL ON THE SIDE AIRBAGS AT THIS TIME BUT NOT THE FRONT AIRBAGS. THERE IS NO RECALL ON THE POWER STEERING ON THIS GM MODEL. I HAVE HAD EXPERIENCED THE POWER STEERING INTERMITTENTLY FAIL WHEN TURNING BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT. MY DAUGHTER ALSO EXPERIENCED POWER STEERING FAILURE ONE WEEK PRIOR TO MY SON'S ACCIDENT. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FROM A GMC DEALERSHIP ON MARCH 1ST 2014. THE VERY NEXT DAY I REPLACED A HEADLIGHT (NO BIG DEAL), A FEW DAYS LATER IT WAS VEERING TO THE LEFT VERY HARD SO I TOOK IT BACK. THEY SAID THE ALIGNMENT WAS OFF 45 DEGREES, SO THEY FIXED IT. 1 MONTH LATER THE STEERING STARTED LOCKING UP WHEN TURNING AT SLOW SPEEDS. I HAD IT DIAGNOSED BY THE GM DEALERSHIP WHO SAID IT WAS THE RACK AND PINION, AND STRUTS AND BEARINGS. I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER AUTO SHOP WHO SAID IT WAS THE POWER STEERING PUMP AND REPLACED IT, THE LOCKING UP STOPPED. THEY SAID THE RACK AND PINION WERE BAD BUT COULD LAST A BIT LONGER. HEAVY SMOKE WAS ALSO COMING FROM THE EXHAUST AND THE CAR SMELLED UNUSUAL ON THE INTERIOR. AFTER WAITING 3 HOURS FOR A TOW (GM ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE), THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. TWO FUEL INJECTORS WERE FOUND LEAKING (# 1 AND 3) AND WERE REPLACED. FUEL INJECTORS 2, 4, 5, AND 6 WERE REBUILT. THIS SAME VEHICLE HAD TWO FUEL INJECTORS (#3 AND 5) REPLACED IN AUGUST 2011 WHEN THIS SAME CHAIN OF EVENTS OCCURRED (PREVIOUSLY REPORTED). I AM CONCERNED AS TO WHY FUEL INJECTORS IN THIS VEHICLE CONTINUE TO FAIL CAUSING THE ENGINE TO FLOOD WITH FUEL. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH AND UNDER WHILE COMING TO A STOP, SHE RECIEVED A WARNING FROM HER ONSTAR SYSTEM ADVISING HER THAT THE ABS SYSTEM FAILED AND TO SERVICE THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. AFTER DIAGNOSIS THEY ADVISED HER THAT FRONT BRAKE PEDALS AND BRAKE PEDAL POSITION SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. AFTER HAVING THE REPAIRS DONE THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ON STAR SYSTEM IN HER VEHICLE ADVISED HER THAT SHE NEEDED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE SERVICED IMMEDIATELY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND THEY OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 12,830 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 58,000.

THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH A GEAR DRIVEN POWER LIFTGATE THAT OPENS AND CLOSES THE REAR HATCH AT THE TOUCH OF A BUTTON. I APPROACHED THE REAR HATCH OF THE ACADIA TO LOAD GROCERIES, AND SIGNALED IT TO OPEN. THE HATCH POWERED OPEN NORMALLY TO ITS FULL HEIGHT. I WALKED UNDERNEATH IT. I ENTERED APPROXIMATE DATE THAT I FIRST REPORTED TO THE DEALERSHIP THE CONDITION OF THE LEATHER SEATS. THE LEATHER SEATS ARE PEALING. THE SUN VISOR BROKE OFF FROM THE MIRROR. THE CONSOLE WAS PEALING. I REPORTED THESE BEFORE THAT TIME, BUT HAD TO WAIT UNTIL THE GENTLEMAN AT THE DEALERSHIP WAS AVAILABLE. I WAS NOT PLEASED WITH THE WAY HE TREATED ME. I HAD JUST PICKED UP MY CAR FROM HAVING THE A/C COMPRESSOR AND CONDENSOR REPLACED AND I WAS DOING A U TURN INTO A GAS STATION WHEN THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT. I HAD TO MANUALLY TURN THE WHEEL. WITH MY TWO CHILDREN IN THE BACK I ALMOST WENT INTO A DITCH. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND TOOK IT IN FOR THEM TO LOOK AT. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE POWER STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY WAS LEAKING AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THEY FOUND THAT WHEN THE VES VALVE WAS COMMANDED SHUT, THE VALVE WOULD NOT RE-OPEN. THE HEADLIGHT WENT OUT AND GMC QUOTED ME AT APPROXIMATELY $120 TO REPLACE. HUSBAND ATTEMPTED TO REPLACE IT BUT YOU HAD TO TAKE OFF THE WHEEL IN ORDER TO GET TO THE ACTUAL LIGHT. I GAVE GMC THE GO AHEAD TO REPLACE AND THEY CALLED ME BACK AND TOLD ME THAT THE WIRING HAD MELTED AND THAT IT WOULD NOW BE OVER $300 TO DO IT. I TOLD THEM NO AND MADE A COMPLAINT. THEY CALLED ME A FEW DAYS LATER TELLING ME THEY WOULD DO IT BUT I HAD TO PAY $50 DEDUCTIBLE (ASSUMING THEY WENT THROUGH SOME TYPE OF WARRANTY). IT EVENTUALLY BECAME A RECALL AND I AM NOW LOOKING INTO GETTING REIMBURSED FOR MY $50. NOTICED MY CAR STARTED OVER HEATING AND TOOK IT INTO A MECHANIC FRIEND, LET US KNOW THAT THE WATER PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED THIS WAS AT APPROX 45,000 MILES. I DID MY RESEARCH AND THE GMC WARRANTY COVERED THE COST. AT APPROXIMATELY 56-57,000 MILES THE CAR STARTED MAKING A WHINING NOISE WHEN DRIVEN SLOW OR FIRST THING IN THE MORNING WHEN IT WAS COLD. TOOK IT IN TO GMC TO GET IT CHECKED OUT AND IT TURNS OUT THAT THE STEERING RACK HAD A LEAK ON EACH SIDE OF THE WHEELS AND PINIONS, AND POWER STEERING PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. QUOTE ALMOST $1500 DOLLARS. I COULD NOT AFFORD THAT PRICE SO TOOK IT BACK TO MY MECHANIC TO SEE IF IT WOULD BE CHEAPER. HE ENDED UP REPLACING THE PINIONS AND RACK BUT SAID THE PUMP DID NOT NEED TO BE REPLACED AND ENDED PAYING $600 OUT OF POCKET. I'M HOPING THAT GMC WILL SEE THAT MANY OF US ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND WILL MAKE IT A RECALL. I WILL NOT BE BUYING ANYMORE GMC VEHICLES. FIRST PROBLEM WAS THE TIMING CHAINS NEEDING TO BE REPLACED AT 18000 MILES. AFTER THAT REPAIR WAS MADE THE GAS MILEAGE WAS AVERAGING 11 MPG. IT WAS A ONE YEAR OLD CAR! AFTER THAT, IT WAS A MULTITUDE OF PROBLEMS. STEERING RACK/POWER STEERING REPLACED AND 'FIXED', ELECTRIC STABILITRAK LIGHTS GOING ON AND OFF, DVD PLAYER NOT PLAYING PROPERLY. ALL THINGS THE DEALER HAD SAID THEY FIXED (AFTER THEY WHISPERED THAT I SHOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT AN AMERICAN CAR.) NOW THE TRANSMISSION IS ACTING UP. ROLLING DOWN AN INCLINE WHEN I WAS TRYING TO BACK OUT OF A PARKING SPOT. THE DEALER TOLD ME IT WAS FINE AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUES I WAS HAVING. I'VE WRITTEN TWO LETTERS TO GM CORPORATE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE SUB-STANDARD VEHICLE. THEY WERE HELPLESS AND WILL NOT ASSIST IN ANY REPLACEMENT OF THE CAR. AT 15K MILES CD PLAYER TURNS ON AT NIGHT BY ITSELF AND RUNS BATTERY COMPLETELY DOWN HAD TO GO BUY A BATTERY CHARGER TO GET THE CAR STARTED YOU CAN'T MOVE THE CAR WHEN THE BATTERY IS DEAD, A RE PROGRAM FIXED THE CD PLAYER. 35-40K MILES DVD PLAYER WILL NOT WORK, RE PROGRAM DID NOT WORK, DEALER REPLACED DVD PLAYER. 40K MILES WATER PUMP WENT OUT, 40 K MILES WHEEL ALIGNMENT WENT OUT AND WORE THE FRONT TIRES TO THE CORD, NO MENTION OF COMPENSATION FOR TWO NEW TIRES AT A COST OF $500.00. 10K MILES FURTHER ANOTHER SET OF TIRES HAD TO BE REPLACED AT THE SAME COST, THIS IS AFTER DEALER WHEEL ALIGNMENT,5 K MILES MORE AND THE ALIGNMENT HAD TO PERFORMED AGAIN. JUST CHECKED AGAIN AT 5 K MILES MORE AND TIRES ARE STARTING TO FEATHER AGAIN. AT 60K MILES ONE OF THE DRIVING LIGHTS WENT OUT. THE DEALER WANTS OVER $100.00 TO REPLACE THE BULB, SEEMS AS THOUGH THE FRONT END NEEDS TO COME OFF TO REPLACE A LIGHTBULB THAT USED TO COST A FEW DOLLARS. THE PAINT HAS STARTED TO PEEL OFF THE BUTTONS THAT CONTROL THE AIR CONDITIONER FAN. THE GAS MILEAGE IS NOT AS ADVERTISED. I BELIEVE I HAVE SOME TYPE OF ELECTRICAL ISSUE. I STARTED TESTING DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS SUCH AS THE DRIVER SEATBELT. I PURPOSELY DROVE SEVERAL MILES IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD WITH THE SEATBELT OVER ME, BUT NOT ENGAGED AND THE LIGHT DID NOT COME ON. MY AIRBAG SERVICE LIGHT CAME ONE FOR SERVICE, THEY SERVICED IT, IT CAME BACK ON, THEY REPLACED A SEATBELT COMPONENT, THE LIGHT WAS OFF, BUT CAME BACK ON, THEY DID ANOTHER REPLACEMENT AND THE LIGHT IS NOW OFF. MY FRONTEND WAS MAKING FUNNY NOISE WHEN MAKING TURNS, THEY REPLACED MY RACK AND PINION. MY SERVICE STABILITRAK LIGHT, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ONE, THEY FIXED IT, THEY CAME ON AGAIN, THEY KEPT MY VEHICLE FOR A DAY AND FIXED IT. THEY ARE BACK ON AGAIN ALONG WITH THE ABS LIGHT AND NOW I'M TOLD THAT I PROBABLY NEED A BREAK JOB. BREAKS WERE NOT MENTIONED THE OTHER TIMES. MY ELECTRONIC KEY PAD DETERIORATED AND NO LONGER WORKS, THEY SAID IT WAS USER HANDLING, MY OTHER KEY PAD IS NOT MALFUNCTIONING, YOU CAN SEE WERE THE PAD IS BEGINING TO SINK IN, BUT THEY SAID IT'S MY HANDLING. THE CASE IS CHIPPED AND THE CHIPPING HAS OCCURRED IN THE SAME PLACE ON BOTH KEY PADS. MY MIDDLE SEAT PASSENGER SIDE CASE CAME APART TWICE, EACH TIME THEY FIXED IT, IT'S NOW BROKEN, AND I WAS TOLD THEY DON'T REPAIR BROKEN PARTS. I AM STILL UNDER THE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY, BUT GMC WILL NOT REPLACE MY KEY PADS, AND THE SERVICE TECH SAYS HE WILL TRY REALLY HARD TO GET MY SEAT COVERED. THE TINT ON MY WINDOWS HAVE BEEN REPLACED THREE TIMES AND STILL IS NOT CORRECT. MY DVD PLAYER DOES NOT PLAY CORRECTLY AND HAS NOT BEEN FIXED SINCE IT'S BEEN IN MY VEHICLE. MY VEHICLE IS A 2009 ACADIA. I HAD A LEAK IN THE TRUNK, THEY FIXED THAT. AIR PRESSURE WILL NOT STAY CONSISTENT, WAS TOLD BY SERVICE ADVISOR TO OVER INFLATE TO COMPENSATE, WHICH IS DIFFERENT FROM WHAT THE OWNERS MANUAL STATES. I OPENED MY TAILGAGE TODAY, 12/13/09, TO PUT SOME ITEMS INTO MY TRUNK. I LEANED IN TO GET THEM SITUATED & SECURE WHEN SUDDENLY THE LIFTGATE SLAMMED DOWN ON MY LOWER BACK, TRAPPING ME AGAINST THE INSIDE OF MY TRUNK. I WAS UNABLE TO LIFT THE GATE AND HAD TO SLITHER OUT ONTO THE GROUND, AT WHICH POINT THE LIFTGATE COMPLETELY CLOSED. I REOPENED THE LIFTGATE, UNSURE OF WHAT HAD HAPPENED, AND WOOSH! IT SLAMMED SHUT AGAIN. THE LIFTGATE WILL NOT STAY UP, AND CLEARLY THE SENSORS THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO DETECT OBJECTS IMPEDING IT'S CLOSURE ARE NOT WORKING. I HAVE TWO SMALL CHILDREN WHO OFTEN GET ITEMS OUT OF THE TRUNK - SUCH AS JACKETS OR UMBRELLAS - AND IF THIS HAD HAPPENED TO THEM, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN THEIR HEAD OR NECK THAT GOT CAUGHT. I BROUGHT THE CAR INTO LEHMER'S GMC IN CONCORD CA THIS MORNING AFTER VISITING THE DOCTOR WHO LOOKED AT MY SWOLLEN LOWER BACK. THEY TOLD ME SINCE I WISHED TO FILE A CLAIM WITH GMC -- NOT FOR COMPENSATION, SIMPLY TO HAVE OFFICIAL WRITTEN NOTICE THAT THIS IS A DANGEROUS OCCURRENCE -- THAT THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR THE LIFTGATE AND WOULD HAVE TO GIVE IT BACK TO ME STILL DAMAGED AND DANGEROUS.
