POWER STEERING RACK & HIGH PRESSURE POWER STEERING LINE. IF THIS FAILS WHILE YOU'RE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY YOU WILL LOSE POWER STEERING CAUSING A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. ALSO THE TIMING COVER IS LEAKING. BOTH OF THESE EXPENSIVE REPAIRS SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH ALL GMC ACADIA SUV'S YET THE NHTSA HAS NOT INVESTIGATED OR REQUIRED THE MANUFACTURER TO DO A RECALL AND COVER THE COSTS OF REPAIR. COSTS FOR BOTH REPAIRS IS $5000.00 !!!

The contact owns a 2011 GMC Acadia. The contact stated upon starting the vehicle, the steering wheel became difficult to turn. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that he used his knowledge of vehicles to depress the accelerator pedal, which raised the RPM and caused the steering wheel to become operative. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring while the vehicle was idling. Additionally, the contact stated that the steering wheel would seize while driving and steering to the left. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the rack and pinion had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 174,300.

Hi, I think the 2011 Acadia Denali should be in the recall along with the Terrain. The reason being that I always get flashed at night and every night as though I have the high lights on which I don’t. That’s every night. Please check into this. With all this road rage going on I worry I might come across one angry person or cause someone to wreck. Please I’m worried. Thank you.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS WERE MELTED AND INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO STARLING CHEVROLET BUICK GMC (1001 E IRLO BRONSON MEMORIAL HWY, ST CLOUD, FL 34769) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE HEADLIGHT HOUSINGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS WERE PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WAS INFORMED ON THE FIRST VISIT THAT A BRACKET NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED TO PREVENT FUTURE DAMAGES TO THE HEADLIGHTS. THE BRACKET WAS INSTALLED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 110,572.

I HAVE A 2011 ACADIA DENALI WITH FACTORY XENON HID LIGHTS. BOTH DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT HOUSINGS AND CONNECTORS HAVE MELTED. THE PASSENGER SIDE BULB HAS MELTED ITSELF TO THE SOCKET ITSELF. THE HOUSING HAS MELTED AND CRACKED. BOTH ARE NO LONGER REFLECTIVE OR FUNCTIONAL AS DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A ISSUE FOR ALL ACADIAS. A FIRE IS INEVITABLE.

HEADLIGHT BULB AND ASSEMBLY SYSTEM COMPLETELY MELTED! WENT TO REPLACE THE BULBS THAT I THOUGHT WERE JUST BLOWN OUT BUT THE BULBS EXPLODED AND MELTED EVERYTHING. TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO FIX AND THEY SAID IT WOULD COST $2500.00 TO FIX IN ORDERING NEW ASSEMBLY. THEY SAID THEY HAVE SEEN THIS HAPPEN ON ACADIAS BEFORE. I WENT ONLINE AND SURE ENOUGH MELTED HEADLIGHTS AND WIRING WERE A COMMON PROBLEM. WHEN I CALLED THE HEADQUARTERS CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE TO ASK IF A RECALL HAD BEEN ISSUED A FOREIGN GENTLEMAN WROTE DOWN MY INFORMATION AND SAID SOMEONE WILL GET BACK WITH YOU BUT THERE SHOULD BE NO REASON IT MELTED UNLESS SOMEONE OR SOMETHING HAPPENED TO IT. I'VE NEVER BEEN IN A WRECK EVER. I ASKED THE GUY WHAT IT WOULD TAKE TO GET THIS FIXED ME OR ONE OF MY KIDS DYING IN A WRECK AND IS SUING YOU TO MAKE SURE WE HAVE A SAFE VEHICLE. I TOLD HIM I DIDN'T APPRECIATE HIS I DON'T CARE ATTITUDE TOWARDS MY FEELINGS OF HAVING SMALL CHILDREN IN A CAR THAT HAS A PART THAT IS COMMON AND KNOWN TO MELT AND NOT GET FIXED.

DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS HAVE OVERHEATED ON BOTH SIDES AND HAVE MELTED THE PLASTIC HOUSING. THE LIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY HOT IN A CONFINED SPACE AND ARE IN VERY CLOSE PROXIMITY TO A FLAMMABLE MATERIAL. I NOTICED SMOKE COMING OUT OF THE HEADLIGHT AND SAW THAT IT HAS MELTED THE HOUSING TO THE POINT WHERE THE BULB IS NOW SITTING DIRECTLY ON THE MELTED PLASTIC HOUSING. THESE ARE THE RUNNING LIGHTS....NOT THE MAIN HEADLIGHTS.

I had issue with the timing chain an have check engine light is on I have heard other people having problems with there timing chain. It starts hard. I've had it looked at multiple times. I feel like this is a safety concern. It has low miles on it

The engine light came on. Had a mobile mechanic look at it, he ran a diagnostics, it showed a P0017 code. He advised to get another opinion on how to repair, as he said it may need a new engine. Took it to a local repair shop, was told the same thing. The Acadia runs fine, and only has 116K miles. The problem is that it will not pass the required emission test for annual registration and tag. The cost of a new engine was estimated at about $10K, which is more than the Acadia is worth. Was told that these vehicles have had a history of this same issue.

LOOKING INTO A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT I FOUND I HAD A MISFIRE IN A FEW CYLINDERS. LOOKING INTO IT I FOUND OIL IN MY SPARK PLUG TUBES, MY COILS WERE PERFECTLY DRY AND THE TOP OF THE TUBES WERE DRY AS WELL. LOOKING INTO THIS ISSUE I FOUND MULTIPLE TSB FORMS FOR THE ISSUE STATING THERE WAS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT IN THE HEAD. IT SAYS IT EFFECTS ALL VINS FOR ALL YEARS AS THEY USE THE SAME ENGINE.

I was driving on a busy freeway, my car lost power and became very slow at only 20mph. Almost got rear ended, luckily I was able to pull over. Then check engine light came on. My engine failed and had to tow it. Mechanic said faulty timing chains destroyed my engine. Bought a used engine and is costing me over $4,000. I was lucky not to get killed. GM knows there’s a timing chains issues with these engines. People have complained about this costly and dangerous problem. They should recall and pay for the repairs. There was no warning for me until it was too late.

Had to replace transmission. I waa sowing down to come to a stop and the car shuts off in the road while I am turning into a drive way. After getting a new gmc transmission,My speedometer is moving back and forth again. The vehicle shutters while in park. These are some of the same signs from last time.

My air bag light keeps coming on saying to service it. I saw the recalled issues before with the other Acadias and was thinking maybe my year model would need to be looked into as well. I haven't ever had a wreck for them to come out but the light comes on frequently.

MY DENALI HAS GOTTEN A CRACK ON THE DASH THAT RUNS DOWN TO THE AIRBAG ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE AIRBAG. THIS HAPPENED WHILE SITTING IN MY GARAGE IN 2016. I HAVE CONTACTED GM ABOUT THE PROBLEM BUT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WASN'T A RECALL ON THIS. IT APPEARS TO ME AND OTHERS THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM BECAUSE ALL OF THE DASHES ARE CRACKED ON THE ONE PIECE DASHES (2007-2014) EITHER ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OR AT THE AIRBAG. I'M AFRAID THAT IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS THAT THERE WILL BE PIECES OF THE DASH COMING WITH IT CAUSING INJURY. I KEEP MY VEHICLE GARAGE KEPT OR AT WORK I PUT A DEFLECTOR IN THE WINDOW TO KEEP THE SUN OFF THE DASH. I FEEL LIKE GM SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPLACING THE DASH DUE TO THE POSSIBILITY OF INJURY. The relay for the fan at the top of the fuse/relay box on the right side when facing the front of the vehicle. (under the hood) Gets hot and blows the relay and melts the spot where the relay prongs plug in. Causing the need for a new fuse box and circuit problems within the fuse box connectors. The fans, specifically the a/c fan does not kick on when turning on the a/c and the low speed fan does not kick on at all until the secondary temp fan kicks on after the temperature raises past the normal operating range. Which an overheating engine is bad for all parts of the engine which can and sooner or later will lead to a catastrophic failure putting the operator and other motorists life's at risk.This time it created a small fire that was extinguished only because the fuse box cover was off and I was looking at it as it happened, putting the cover back on extinguished the fire. This is the third time it has happened with the exact same problem. You tube is full of videos with the exact same problem.

DRLs melted into the housing, seems like this is possibly caused by cowls that are not properly sealed allowing moisture into headlight assembly. This is obviously a fire hazard and will be a costly repair. I am not sure if vehicle insurance covers this but I doubt it.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WAS A CERTIFIED MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CALLED CARL BLACK CHEVROLET BUICK GMC (11500 E. COLONIAL DR, ORLANDO, FL 32817), AND INFORMED THEM OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT A FEE WOULD BE ASSESSED FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST TO BE PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 138,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT FUSES BLEW OUT EVERY TIME THE KEY WAS TURNED IN THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND WAS STILL AT THE DEALER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 166,000.

While driving down the road, transmission will shudder and have difficulty maintaining constant speed. This is especially dangerous while merging on to the highway. It is searching for the gear to be in while rpms are fluctuating.

I WAS TRAVELING TO DAYTONA FL FROM OHIO FOR VACATION. THE TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING AND AS I GOT OFF THE EXIT FOR DAYTONA THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT I BARELY MADE IT TO MY RENTAL. I HAD NO EXTRA MONEY AND CAN NOT RENT A CAR BECAUSE I HAVE NO MAJOR CREDUT CARD. SO I HAD TO TAKE OUT A LOAN FOR 3200.00 FOR A1 TRANSMISSION SHOP TO REBUILD THE TRANSMISSION.

THE CAR SHUTTERS INTERMEDIATELY WHEN DRIVEN AT HIGHER POSTED SPEED LIMITS. FROM ABOUT 40/45 MILES PER HOUR UP TO ABOUT 60 MILES AN HOUR. THE VIBRATION SHAKES THE ENTIRE VEHICLE. LETTING OFF THE GAS OR ACCELERATION WILL STOP IT, BUT GO BACK TO A STEADY SPEED, AND IT RETURNS. HAVE KEPT UP WITH SERVICE AND THE VEHICLE IS IN TREMENDOUS CONDITION, BUT THIS CONDITION IS PRESENT IN ALL WEATHER AND TEMPERATURES AND SEEMS TO NOT HAVE A CURE. HAVE REPLACED ALL POSSIBLE CAUSES, INCLUDING TORQUE CONVERTER AND POSSIBLE SENSORS. HAS NOT GONE AWAY. NOTED THAT OTHER OWNERS HAVE POSTED SIMILAR/SAME COMPLAINTS ON THE SAME YEAR AND MAKE. SAME COMPLAINT WITH SISTER CAR 2011 SATURN OUTLOOK. THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE DRIVE TRAIN AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED. UNDERSTAND SOME PEOPLE HAVE FOUND A DAMAGED "D PLATE" IN THE TRANSMISSION-BUT REPLACING THE PART HAS RESULTED IN THE PART FAILING AGAIN AND THE PROBLEM RETURNS.

We purchased the vehicle on August 20, 2025. At which time we paid over $4,800 for the vehicle. I will be trying to submit all files pertaining to the vehicle. We are both disabled and on the fixed income from ssi. However, a week after purchasing the vehicle all issues began to rise up. There was no transmission fluid, the oil need changed, catalytic converter showed up on AutoZone print out, wheels to make a sound when turning, brakes needs fixed, electrical seems to have an issue. The reason I am submitting this is in prayer asking for any remedy with this situation through the recalls, bulletins, and whatever else maybe available for the vehicle. I thank you for your time, effort, and consideration in this matter.

Tailgate system has failed causing tailgate to force closed after opening halfway. Risk of being pinned between the car and tailgate. Similar to previous recall POWER LIFTGATE PROP ROD RECOVERY, gate is not being controlled or caught.

2011 ACADIA DENALI, HAS HID HEADLIGHTS FOR NIGHT TIME DRIVING, AND TRADITIONAL INCANDESCENT LIGHTS FOR DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS (DRL). I NOTICED THE DRIVER'S SIDE DRL BULB WAS BURNED OUT APPROXIMATELY A WEEK AGO (SO ~5/12/2019), WHEN I WHEN TO REMOVE IT TO SEE WHAT SIZE BULB WAS NEEDED PART OF THE PROJECTOR HOUSING BROKE OFF WITH THE BULB. I THEN NOTICED THAT THE BULB SOCKET WAS PARTIALLY MELTED, AND THE DUST SEAL AROUND THE BULB IS ALSO PARTIALLY MELTED (BROWN AND STARTING TO MELT). I ALSO LOOKED AT THE PASSENGERS SIDE AND, WITHOUT REMOVING THE BULB, YOU CAN SEE THAT THE PROJECTOR HOUSING ON THAT SIDE IS ALSO STARTING TO BUBBLE/MELT. THE DRIVERS SIDE BULB IS MELTED ENOUGH THAT I CANNOT REMOVE THE ENTIRE BULB FROM THE SOCKET, ONLY THE GLASS WANTS TO PULL FREE. I FEEL LUCKY IT DIDN'T START A FIRE.

I HAVE A 2011 GMC ACADIA SLT. MY CAR IS EQUIPPED XENON HIGH INTENSITY DISCHARGE (HID TVD) LOW BEAMS LAMPS. BOTH PASSENGER AND DRIVERS SIDE LOW BEAM LIGHT SOCKETS HAVE MELTED INSIDE EACH HEAD LIGHT ASSEMBLY. THE LOW BEAM LAMP CONNECTORS AND PORTIONS OF EACH WIRING HARNESS HAVE MELTED FROM THE INTENSE HEAT OF THE HID LAMP. I CONTACTED GMC CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER TO SEE IF A RECALL HAS BEEN INITIATED. NO RECALL. I WAS GIVEN A CASE NUMBER AND THE CONTACT INFORMATION FOR MY LOCAL CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE MANAGER. I WAS ENCOURAGED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT AT THE DEALERSHIP SO MY LIGHT ISSUE COULD BE LOOKED INTO BY A GMC MAINTENANCE TEAM. I WAS ENCOURAGED TO RESOLVE MY LIGHTING ISSUE WITH MY CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE MANAGER.

WANTED TAILGATE NOISE FIXED WHILE UNDER WARRANTEE, BUT WAS PUT OFF BY DEALER TO WAIT FOR RECALL FIX. RECALL FIX DID NOT SOLVE PROBLEM OF LOUD NOISES WHEN USING POWER TAILGATE. AFTER ABOUT 2 YEARS I RECEIVED RECALL LETTER FROM GM AND DEALER DID RECALL WORK. HOWEVER , THE NOISE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS AND DEALER TELLS ME I WILL NEED TO PAY $725 TO FIX PART # 23142258 BECAUSE IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER LONG AWAITED RECALL REPAIR. I CALLED GM CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER AND THEY CANNOT AUTHORIZE REPAIR EITHER. I BELEIVE THE RECALL MODULE BY NOT WORKING CORRECTLY CAUSED THE GEAR FAILURE. THAT'S WHY I BELIEVE GM SHOULD FIX THE TAILGATE. ALL THIS HAPPENED OVER A 2 YEAR PERIOD. WHILE CAR WAS IN WARRENTY AND NOW OUT OF WARRANTY. I was driving on the freeway then my car suddenly started slowing down. I tried changing lane so i can pull over on the side of the freeway but unfortunately i couldn't get to pull over before the car completely stopped on the freeway. I called AAA. They sent a tow truck which came to the freeway to tow my car. My husband came and took me to work. The car was towed to a GMC dealership. I went to the dealership after work. I was told my car has timing chain problem and if not fixed will damage the engine. I went online to read reviews of this car only to see it was a very common problem for this year and model of GMC which if i have ever read those reviews i would not have bought a GMC. This vehicle should be recalled for this issue.

Accordingly, the said vehicle first manifested a dangerous defect issue on July 14, 2021, while traveling out of town. A significant and abrupt reduction of power completely disabled the vehicle while parking in a parking space .Despite several attempts, the vehicle still fail to start. Only to notice the engine light illuminating and flashing repeatedly. At the same time the dashboard indicated a faulty reading of fuel and oil. This is a very serious and frightened situation because I received absolutely no warning before the vehicle shut down. Without reason of doubt, I do believe it is unsafe, extremely dangerous and is potentially a hazardous situation that should be investigated. Fortunately, I was in a parking lot went the problem occurred. Whereas, if the vehicle engine stopped abruptly in the mist of traffic it could have resulted with a different outcome. On July 16th the vehicle was towed to a certified GMC dealership for further inspection. Hours later, I received the service contract and a follow up call from the dealership given that the diagnostic is the Engine Control Module (ECM) and needs to be replaced. Surprisingly, to my dismay I was advised that General Motors no longer make the part and the Service Center is not sure when and if the part will be available. As of today, July 26th, no one has taken the necessary steps to remediate my situation. I have already attempted to resolve this problem by contacting the Manufacturer directly. Yet, no information on when a resolution will be made. I have been a loyal customer for several years and currently seeking answers.

I WAS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE OF THIS VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS. NOW THAT THE WARRANTY IS EXPIRED, I HAD TO CHANGE THE DRIVESHAFT, FELL OUT WHILE TRANSPORTING PASSENGERS; TRANSFER CASE, THE TRANSITION FROM DRIVE, THE AUTOMATIC SHIFT WOULD JERK; A PASSENGER I HAD IN THE CAR TOLD ME ONE DAY I WOULD NOT MAKE IT UP A HILL. ONE WEEK LATER IT HAPPENED. TRANSMISSION, THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T MOVE EVEN WHEN GAS WAS APPLIED; 6 COILS AND PLUGS, THE BAD SMELL OF SOMETHING BURNING WAS SCARY. I HAD TO PULL OFF THE ROAD BECAUSE THE REDUCE POWER LIGHT COME ON. YESTERDAY, 12/26/16, I WENT THROUGH THIS AGAIN!!! THERE IS A RUBBING SOUND IN ONE OF MY WHEELS, DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT IS YET. I ALSO CHANGED THE AXELS AND ABOUT TO CHANGE THE TIE RODS FOR A CLUNKING NOISE WHILE MAKING TURNS ON UNEVEN SURFACES. I MADE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS TO GMC HQ AND THE DEALER HERE IN THE VI FROM 2013. MY VEHICLE HAS 136,000 MILES AND THE TIMING CHAIN IS OUT, I HAVE HAD TO HAVE THE FRONT PASSENGER AXLE REPAIRED, THERE IS AN OIL LEAK. I HAD THE VEHICLE CHECKED WHILE UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD COME ON, THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID IT WAS BECAUSE THE GAS CAP WASN'T TIGHTENED. 2011 GMC ACADIA, #14329B SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT-LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSIST. COVERAGE GOOD FOR PERIOD OF 10 YEARS OR 150,000 MILES. ACADIA STARTED HAVING POWER STEERING PROBLEM IN JAN 2017. 2/1/2017 SERVICE ACADIA AT THE DEALER'S FROM 2/1/2017 UNTIL 2/8/2017 TO REPLACE STEERING PUMP. DROVE THE CAR FROM THE DEALER, NOTICED IT WAS SCARY, BOUNCING RIGHT AWAY. TOOK IT BACK RIGHT AWAY. THE ADVISOR TOLD ME THAT SINCE THE CAR HAD BEEN LEFT ON THE LIFT THE STRUTS ON THE SHOCKS HAD EXPANDED. MECHANIC DROVE THE ACADIA AND SAID IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. THE DEALER SAID IT WAS WEAR AND TEAR. AS A 77 YEAR OLD RETIRED SCHOOL TEACHER, I DRIVE CAREFULLY, PRUDENTLY. HAVE THE OLD STRUTS. DOES THIS MAKE SENSE? THE DEALER SHOULD HAVE PERFORMED THIS 'SPECIAL COVERAGE ADJUSTMENT TO ENSURE COMPLETE SAFE VEHICLE OPERATION FROM THE BEGINNING'. DUE TO DEALER INCOMPETENCE BAMBOOZLED INTO PAYING FOR STRUT REPAIRS. THE CAR WAS STILL RUNNING, BUT WOULD NOT GO ABOVE APPROXIMATELY 2K RPM'S. LUCKILY WE WERE ON A SLOW ROAD, SO WE WERE ABLE TO PULL OFF AND THERE WERE NO HIGH SPEED CARS BEHIND US. SHUTTING THE CAR OFF, WAITING A FEW MINUTES THEN TURNING IT BACK ON APPEARED TO CLEAR THE ISSUE. THE TRACTION CONTROL SHOWED AS OFF WHEN IT FIRST STATED UP, BUT THEN IT SHOWED 'TRACTION CONTROL ON" AS IT STRATED TO DRIVE. IT LOOKS LIKE THERE ARE A LOT OF REPORTS OF THIS ON THE INTERNET.

WHILE DRIVING THIS MORNING I HAD A SERIES OF MESSAGES APPEAR : "TRACTION CONTROL OFF" , THEN "SERVICE STABILITRAK" AND THEN VERY SOON AFTER "REDUCED ENGINE POWER". THE CAR WOULD STILL RUN, BUT WOULD NOT GO ABOVE APPROXIMATELY 20MPH AND STRUGGLED TO MAINTAIN SPEED. AT ONE POINT HAD TO PULL OVER AND TURN ENGINE OFF TO ALMOST "RESET" CAR TO BE ABLE TO CONTINUE DRIVING TO DESTINATION. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED AND HAVE HAD TO TAKE TO THE SHOP. I HAVE SMALL CHILDREN THAT ARE TYPICALLY IN THE VEHICLE WHEN THIS HAPPENS AND AM CONCERNED FOR THEIR SAFETY IF THIS ISSUE CANNOT BE RESOLVED.

DRIVING 40MPH, ACCELERATED INTO THE LEFT LANE TO PASS. REMOVING MY FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR, MY VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE WITH THE PEDAL MOVING TO THE FLOOR. AFTER REPEATEDLY STOMPING THE BRAKE AND DEPRESSING THE "CANCEL CRUISE" CONTROL BUTTON, I WAS ABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE BEFORE HITTING THE VEHICLE AHEAD OF ME. THIS HAPPENED ABOUT 3.5 HOURS INTO A 9 HOUR TRIP, SO THE VEHICLE WAS WARM. I WAS ABLE TO REPEAT THE CONDITION 4 TIMES. TWICE WITH THE CRUISE ON BUT DISENGAGED AND TWICE WITH THE CRUISE TURNED OFF. I DISCOVERED THAT STOMPING THE BRAKES OR DEPRESSING THE CANCEL CRUISE BUTTON CLEARED THE CONDITION. AFTER A COUPLE OF STOPS, CONDITION OCCURRED A 6TH TIME AS I ATTEMPTED TO PASS A VEHICLE GOING 50MPH. AS I DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR, THE SYMPTOM RECURRED WITH MY VEHICLE ACCELERATING TO 80 MPH BEFORE CONTINUALLY DEPRESSING THE "CANCEL CRUISE" BUTTON RELEASED THE STUCK ACCELERATOR. ON 3 JUNE, TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT. NEITHER DEALER TECH NOR I COULD REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM. . DEALER OPENED GM TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE CASE (71-1189923303) AND ALLEGEDLY GM HAS NO RECORD OF SIMILAR PROBLEMS. THE DEALER HAD NO RECOURSE BUT TO RETURN THE VEHICLE TO ME. I CALLED GM CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE AND REGISTERED MY CONCERN. HVAC SYSTEM FAILURE FOR THE SECOND TIME IN LESS THAN A YEAR THAT LEAD TO FREON LEAKING INTO THE PASSENGER CABIN OF OUR 2011 GMC ACADIA THAT HAS LESS THAN 44,000 MILES. IT WAS MAKING AN EXTREME HISSING SOUND, FOLLOWED BY A MISTY CLOUD OF FREON GAS, AND NOW LETS OFF AN ACRID, PLASTIC/ELECTRICAL BURNING SMELL THAT FILLS THE CABIN FOLLOWED BY STEAM RISING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND THE VENTS IN THE CAR'S HOOD. THE CAR STARTS TO SMELL LIKE IT IS ON FIRE, ONLY WE CAN'T FIND THE SOURCE SINCE IT IS OBSCURED BY THE DASHBOARD. WE HAVE HAD TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUE, YET ALL THEY DO IS UPGRADE THE SOFTWARE AND RECHARGE THE FREON UNIT. AIR CONDITIONER/COMPRESSOR HAS FAILED AND THE UNIT IS LEAKING FREON INSIDE THE CAR CABIN WHEN AIR CONDITIONING OR VENTS ARE OPEN. THERE IS ALSO A HISSING SOUND AND EXHAUST COMING FROM THE COMPRESSOR, WHICH WAS PROCEEDED BY A BURNING SMELL WHEN THE UNIT INITIALLY FAILED. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS AN ON-GOING ISSUE FOR PEOPLE WHO OWN THIS PARTICULAR MAKE AND MODEL OF CAR - THERE ARE DOZENS OF PEOPLE DOCUMENTING THIS ISSUE ONLINE, BUT GMC REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM. WE CONTACTED THE DEALER AND WERE INFORMED THAT NOT ONLY WOULD WE HAVE TO PAY FOR THE EXPLORATION OF THE PROBLEM, WHICH RESULTS IN THE COSTLY REMOVAL OF THE DASHBOARD, WE WOULD ALSO NEED TO PAY TO FIX IT EVEN THOUGH THERE IS LESS THAN 40,000 MILES ON THE CAR AND IT IS BARELY 2 YEARS OLD. SERVICE BRAKES

Upon starting our vehicle to leave the breaks were very hard to compress. They did eventually release but made a whooshing noise as though there is someone blowing air from the brake pedal. There is no damage or leaking from the break line or the master cylinder. This could lead to failure of the breaks and it is concerning. This vehicle is available upon request to inspect. This has not currently be confirmed by a dealer or service center, or others that would inspect vechicles. There are no warning laps or messages presenting. 11/23/21 is the first day that this occured.

I WAS DRIVING MY 2011 GMC ACADIA AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR STARTED TO DECELERATE. I PULLED OVER AND TURN THE CAR OFF AND THEN THE CAR WOULD NOT START AGAIN. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP IS SAYING THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE TIMING CHAIN. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THE TIMING CHAIN FAILED. UPON DOING RESEARCH, I SEE THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH GMC MODELS, ESPECIALLY THE ACADIA MODEL. THE DEALERSHIP IS SAYING THAT THE REPAIR IS GOING TO COST ME $7500. GIVEN THAT THIS IS WELL-KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE ACADIA MODEL, I FEEL THAT THIS ISSUE SHOULD BE RECALLED FOR THE SAFETY OF CONSUMERS.

THE DASH BOARD ON MY DENALI HAS CRACKED AND GOES DOWN INTO THE AIRBAG. I AM AFRAID IF THE AIRBAG WERE TO DEPLOY THE DASH WOULD FURTHER SHATTER AND CAUSE PARTS OF THE PLASTIC TO COME LOOSE FROM THE DASH CAUSING INJURY TO MYSELF OR ONE OF MY GRANDDAUGHTERS. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH SEVERAL PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE DASH CRACKING. I FEEL LIKE THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE DASH BOARD AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY GM. WE CURRENTLY OWN A 2011 GMC DENALI. NEAR THE AIRBAG COMPARTMENT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, THERE IS A CRACK IN THE DASHBOARD FROM THE MIDDLE SPLIT TO THE AIRBAG COMPARTMENT. THIS WEEK, THERE IS A NEW SPLIT OVER THE STEERING WHEEL MAKING ITS WAY UP TO MOST LIKELY MEET THE EDGE OF THE DASHBOARD AT ITS STEERING WHEEL CURVE. IN DUE TIME, THE TOP OF THE DASHBOARD IS GOING TO CAVE IN AND CAUSE A DRIVING DANGER. THE VIBRATION OF THE TRUCK IN MOTION SEEMS TO INITIAL THE SPREAD OF THE CRACKS. THIS ENGINEERING DEFECT, ALONG WITH THE INADEQUATE DASHBOARD MATERIAL IS A GROWING PROBLEM THAT SEEMS TO BE INCREASING EVERY DAY. The contact owns a 2011 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that while driving 60 MPH, the subframe underneath the driver’s side felt loose and not properly aligned. The contact merged to the right lane and continued to drive the vehicle. The contact stated that her son and daughter drove the vehicle and noticed the failure as well. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to a local Pep Boys who replaced all four tires and performed a 4-wheel alignment; however, the failure had been reoccurring and was more noticeable while making turns and driving around curves. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was unknown.

The contact owns a 2011 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that the steering wheel would shake uncontrollably without warning while driving at various speeds. She also stated that the steering wheel would lock in the middle of turning the steering wheel in either direction without warning. After taking the vehicle to the dealer for routine maintenance, several warning lights appeared on the instrument panel. The contact called that dealer and was informed that the vehicle would reset itself upon restart; however, the failure persisted. A few days later, the Push to Start button failed to operate after multiple attempts and the key was used to start the vehicle. The contact had the vehicle towed back to the dealer and she was informed that the purge valve was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer informed her that there were no recalls on the vehicle and referred her to NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

HE FOUND EXCESSIVE RESISTANCE IN BOTH FRONT SEAT BELT ANCHOR PRETENSIONS AND RECOMMENDED REPLACEMENT OF BOTH FRONT ANCHOR PRETENSIONERS, CPA CONNECTORS WITH LEADS AND REPROGRAM THE SDM. REPAIR ESTIMATE OF $1,164.51. CHARGED $125 TO DIAGNOSE. IT WAS EXPLAINED TO ME THAT THE PRETENSIONERS ARE CONNECTED TO AND COMMUNICATE WITH THE AIR BAG. IN ADDITION, THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN FOUND THE FRONT ENGINE MOUNT WEAK. REPAIR ESTIMATE OF $447.85. THE SEAT BELT PRETENSIONERS AND "SERVICE AIR BAG" APPEAR TO BE SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUES. WHILE DRIVING THIS MORNING THIS MESSAGE APPEARED : "TRACTION CONTROL OFF" , THEN "SERVICE STABILITRAK". VERY SOON AFTER MESSAGE "REDUCED ENGINE POWER" APPEARED. THE CAR WAS STILL RUNNING, BUT WOULD NOT GO ABOVE APPROXIMATELY 2K RPM'S OR 15MPH. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED AND HAVE HAD TO TAKE TO SHOP AND HAVE THROTLE BODY INSPECTED AND RECALIBRATED. THIS IS MY WIFES CAR AND I HAVE A SMALL CHILD THAT WAS IN CAR WHEN THIS HAPPENED. THIS HAPPENED IN AN AREA THAT IS HEAVILY TRAVELED TO INCLUDE SCHOOL BUSES.

OVER THE PAST MONTH AND A HALF I HAVE BEEN NOTICING THAT WHEN I ATTEMPT TO PUSH THE GAS TO MAKE MY CAR GO FASTER THAT IT DOESN'T ACCELERATE. I CAN HEAR IT MAKING A NOISE LIKE IT'S TRYING TO GO FASTER BUT THERE IS DEFINITELY A DELAY BEFORE THE VEHICLE ACTUALLY STARTS TO GO FASTER. USUALLY I AM ON A NORMAL STREETS GOING ANYWHERE FROM 35-55 MPH (DEPENDING ON THE STREET AND POST SPEED LIMIT), SO IT'S NOT ALWAYS A HUGE DEAL WHEN IT HAPPENS. I DO A LOT OF HIGHWAY DRIVING AND THIS IS WHERE MY CONCERN COMES INTO PLAY. A FEW WEEKS AGO I WAS MERGING ONTO 696. THERE WAS MORE THEN ENOUGH ROOM IN THE FIRST LANE FOR ME TO SAFELY MERGE INTO TRAFFIC, HOWEVER, WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE MY VEHICLE IT WOULD NOT GO ABOVE 35MPH FOR A GOOD 30 SECONDS AND A CAR THAT WAS IN THE RIGHT LANE PROBABLY GOING AT LEAST 70MPH ALMOST REAR ENDED ME. THERE WAS ANOTHER INSTANCE WHEN I WAS MERGING ONTO THE VANDYKE EXPRESSWAY WHERE THE POSTED SPEED IS 70MPH AND THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED. TRYING TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC WITH A POST SPEED OF 70MPH AND MY VEHICLE NOT GOING ABOVE 35MPH IS NOT SAFE. MY VEHICLE WAS RECENTLY IN THE SHOP BECAUSE MY AIR COMPRESSOR LITERALLY MELTED AND STARTED SMOKING AS I WAS DRIVING MY CAR. FOR TWO WEEKS LEADING UP TO THE 3/27/14 INCIDENT, EVERY TIME WE STARTED THE CAR THE AIR WOULD NOT COME ON AND WE WOULD HAVE TO MANUALLY TURN THE AIR ON. WHEN WE TURNED THE CAR OFF, THE AIR WOULD STAY ON. TWO WEEKS LATER, WHEN I WAS OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE GAUGES ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL STARTED GOING HAYWIRE DISPLAYING DOZENS OF MESSAGES, AND THE ALL OF THE GAUGES WOULD SHOOT UP, THEN BOTTOM OUT AT 0, THEN SHOOT UP AGAIN, ETC.. I TURNED THE CAR OFF, AND WHEN I CAME BACK LATER TO START IT, THE CAR WOULDN'T START BUT THE ELECTRICAL STUFF CAME ON. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO GET THE CAR TO START, I ROLL DOWN MY WINDOWS AND THEN TRY IT AGAIN, AND THE CAR STARTED. I DROVE IT STRAIGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE BODY CONTROL MODULE AND SOME WIRES AND SAID THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM. LESS THAN 48 HOURS LATER, THE SAME THING WITH THE GAUGES AND WARNING LIGHTS HAPPENED. WE IMMEDIATELY SENT AN EMAIL TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SINCE IT WAS THE WEEKEND AND THEY WERE CLOSED. ON MONDAY, THE CAR DIED AGAIN, BUT THE RADIO KEPT COMING ON/OFF....I FIDDLED WITH THE RADIO AND THE CAR STARTED. I DROVE IT STRAIGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY CAN'T GET THE CAR TO "MESS UP" AGAIN, AND ARE WAITING FOR IT TO DO THE SAME THING IT DID FOR ME, SO THEY CAN FIGURE OUT HOW TO FIX IT. I STARTED THE VEHICLE AGAIN AND IT HAD FULL POWER BUT THE ERROR MESSAGE TO "SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL" WAS STILL ON AND ALTERNATING BETWEEN THAT MESSAGE AND "TRACTION CONTROL OFF". THIS INCIDENT OCCURRED THREE SEPARATE TIMES ON THE SAME DAY ALONG THE SAME HIGHWAY AND AT ONE OF THE TIMES, THERE WAS A LARGE VEHICLE BEHIND ME AND THANKFULLY, THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO QUICKLY MOVE TO THE NEXT LANE BECAUSE I THE ENGINE REDUCED POWER AND I COULD NOT ACCELERATE. I PUT MY HAZARD LIGHTS ON EACH TIME IT HAPPENED. THANK GOD MY CHILDREN WERE NOT IN THE CAR WITH ME WHEN THIS HAPPENED. MY 2011 GMC ACADIA (DENALI) HAS NOW BEEN TAKEN INTO THE DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES (AND LIKELY AN UPCOMING 4TH) DUE TO THE RIGHT FRONT POWER DOOR LOCK AND WINDOW (AND REAR HATCH) WORKING INTERMITTENTLY OVER THE PAST YEAR. THEY HAVE TRIED TO REPLACED THE DOOR MODULE AND REPROGRAMMED IT. THE NEXT TIME, THEY REPLACED BOTH THE MALE AND FEMALE TERMINALS IN THE CONNECTOR AND APPLIED SOME GREASE. NOT EXACTLY SURE WHAT THEY DID THE THIRD TIME. MY CONCERN IS THAT IT JUST HAPPENED AGAIN ALTHOUGH AFTER 24 HOURS IT WAS FINE. I UNDERSTAND GM CURRENTLY HAS A RECALL OUT FOR SUVS BUT FOR MORE OLDER VEHICLES = FIRE, SMOKE, OTHER ARE LINKED TO ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH THE DOOR UNIT. JUST WONDERING IF MY VEHICLE IS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE EVEN THOUGH ITS 5 YEARS NEWER. THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL ON MY VEHICLE AS OF YET. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING IN RAINY OR ICY WEATHER, THE TIRES WOULD SPIN ABNORMALLY WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP AND WOULD NOT GRIP THE PAVEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS TEST DRIVEN. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO LOCATE A FAILURE WITHIN THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER FOR FURTHER INSPECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 16,000. UPDATED 02/15/12*LJ

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED WHENEVER THE GEAR WAS SHIFTED INTO THE PARK POSITION, THE FOUR AUTOMATIC DOORS WOULD UNLOCK WITHOUT INTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOUR TIMES FOR THE SIMILAR FAILURE AND THEY STATED THAT THE DOORS OPERATED NORMALLY. IN ADDITION, THE SILVER AND CHROME TRIM AROUND THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD, AND CONSOLE AREA WOULD OBSTRUCT THE VISION WHEN SUNLIGHT MADE CONTACT WITH IT. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35-45 MPH, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LEFT REAR WHEEL LOCKED WITHOUT WARNING, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO ROLL OVER AND CRASH INTO A DITCH. THE CONTACT DIDN'T INDICATE IF THERE WERE ANY INJURIES OR IF A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DEALER OFFERED TO HAVE A SERVICE MANAGER PROVIDE HIM WITH THE CONTACT INFORMATION FOR THE MANUFACTURER. A COMPLAINT WAS FILED WITH THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,000.
