My service air bag light is on. The dealership says it’s a sensor for which I will be responsible for replacing out of pocket. They stated my air bags will not deploy properly. As the faulty sensor is a manufacturing flaw why is GMC not responsible for the replacement?

The Airbag error message has been displaying on my dash board for awhile now. On November, 2021, I took it to the nearest GMC dealer and repairs to the connector were charged to the extended warranty. One month later the error message reappeared and disappeared after one day. It kept on like that for awhile until July 2022 when I took it to the dealers and they said they fixed it, next day the same error message. Now the dealers are lying that what they worked on was drivers seat side bag and that this time around, the issue is with the bottom part of driver's seat..... My wife and small kids use this car for commute to and from school and this poses a huge risk and danger to my young family everyday.

A MESSAGE APPEARED ON MY DASHBOARD STATING "SERVICE AIR BAG". I BROUGHT MY 2013 GMC ACADIA TO KING O'ROURKE DEALERSHIP IN SMITHTOWN, NY. THEY INFORMED ME "THERE IS A FAULTY SENSOR WHICH CONTROLS THE AIRBAGS. SINCE THE SENSOR IS DEFECTIVE, MY AIRBAGS WILL NO LONGER WORK". LAST YEAR, THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST GM FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT GM WILL NOT RECALL THE FAULTY SENSOR FOR THE AIRBAGS EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE AWARE OF THIS. MY ENTIRE FAMILY'S LIFE IS IN JEOPARDY WITHOUT AIRBAGS! WHY IS THE CONSUMER RESPONSIBLE FOR A FAULTY SENSOR WHICH CONTROLS THE AIRBAGS? CAR COMPANIES SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LIFE OF THE CAR WHEN IT HAS TO DO WITH AIRBAGS!

The contact owns a 2013 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that intermittently, the vehicle was difficult to start. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled. The check engine warning light and the traction control warning light were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the alternator, the stabilizer, starter, ignition switch, the door panel, the axle, the matt sensor, the canister valve, gas cap, and power master window switch was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The mechanic determined that the failure was related to the fuse box. The contact used a diagnostic scanner to scan the vehicle but was unable to retrieve any diagnostic trouble codes. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall related to the electrical system. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.

Car had sat most of the day. By approximately 2:30CST, we decided to go do a little shopping. We drove about 1 mile and the dash displayed "check battery charging system". My husband assumed it was the alternator going out so we turned around swapped vehicles. Probably 45 mins after swapping vehicles I received a call stating my vehicle was up in flames.

SERVICE SIDE DETECTION SENSORS . SENSORS FAILED 3 TIMES.SENSORS FILL WITH WATER FREEZE AND SHORT OUT. CABLE HARNESS ALSO HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT MELTED.

THE SIDE BLIND ZONE DETECTION SYSTEM BECAME DEFECTIVE, FROM DEFECTIVE MODULES DAMAGED FROM THE ELEMENTS. THIS CAUSES MANY ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS TO BECOME DISABLED AND EVEN DISABLES THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY. THERE IS A SPECIAL WARRANTY BUT ONLY UP TO 80,000 MILES. MY VEHICLE IS BEYOND THAT. IT IS STILL EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FOR MANY GM CUSTOMERS AND REPLACEMENT PARTS AND LABOR SHOULD BE COVERED FOR ALL!

Unknown, The vehicle will begin to jerk or shake when it gets up to about 30 - 40mph then levels out. Sometimes it will repeat the jerking when traveling at speed of 50 - 60mph for a few seconds then levels out. Sometimes the vehicle hesitate on take off from a stopped position.

The contact owns a 2013 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that after coming to a stop for a traffic signal or stopping for other traffic, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The contact was unaware if any warning lights were illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that the torque converter solenoid had remained in an open position, causing the vehicle to stall while stopped. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact stated that his mechanic had researched online and related the failure to TSB Number: 10052215-6979 (Power Train). The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 194,032.

My GMC Acadia has been experiencing transmission problems. It has been jerking and it has been failing to accelerate properly. The check engine light is not on and the mechanic says he can not find a problem with the vehicle.

Started having issues with transmission stuttering during gear shifts. Very slow shifts at time and difficulty keeps RPM up when climbing hills. Took it to a shop that identified an issue and was advised the transmission would need to be replaced.

I bought a 2013 gmc Acadia with a 3.6l engine and I was driving it home, and the engine locked up on me, and it didn’t throw a code or anything, it just shut off and wouldn’t start back up, and later I find out that it had an oil leak from somewhere and now I have to have the engine replaced, which is 13k dollars, the vehicle is located at walker Chevrolet in nitro wv, I’m a single dad of 5 children and I can’t afford to fix this vehicle at that price, I asked if they could take payments to replace it, and they said not and that they would NOT Release the vehicle back to me until it is paid for, and now I’m stranded with 5 children with no way to go to the store or anything. The engine locked up on me in the middle of the four lane in st albans wv, and I almost got hit by vehicles that were behind me and everything.

2013 GMC Acadia left brake light, tail light, turn signal bulb is burned out. There is no way to purchase another bulb. Retail stores don't have it. General Motors Corporation discontinued it. 2013 to 2017 GMC Acadia all affected. I've tried GM direct,GM parts online no one has it. GMC customer service was no help, Chevrolet customer service was no help. No left brake light. No left turn signal. Accident waiting to happen.

THE HEADLIGHTS ON THIS VEHICLE ARE HORRIBLE , IT IS A SAFETY HAZZARD . WHEN DRIVING THE HEADLIGHTS ONLY LIGHT UP THE ROAD ABOUT 6 FT IN FEONT OF YOU ON LOW BEAM AND THERE IS A DISTINCT LINE WHERE THEY STOP SHINING UPWARDS WHICH IS ONLY ABOUT 4 FT UP INTO THE SKY . THIS DOES NOT GIVE YOU ENOUGH TIME TO SEE ANYTHING IN FRONT OF YOU LET ALONE PWOPLE WALKING ON THE SIDEWALKS . I AM VERY DISSAPOINTES THAT THIS VEHICLE IS 6 YEARS OLD AND THIS HASNT BEEN TAKEN CARE OF YET . MAYBE YOU SHOULD TRY AND DRIVE RHIS VEHICLE AND THEN RECALL IT BECAUSE YOU CANT SEE ANYTHING ON LOW BEAM. HEADLIGHTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED TWICE SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE IN MAY 2015. MOST RECENTLY, BOTH HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT AT THE SAME TIME. FUSES WE CHECKED. PRIOR TO THE LAST HEADLIGHT CHANGE, THE LAMPS VERY VERY DIM AND AS SUCH VISIBILITY WAS POOR, SO MUCH SO THAT IT WAS A SAFETY HAZARD.

THE CAR HEADLIGHTS SUDDENLY STARTED GOING OUT (WHILE DRIVING) INTERMITTENTLY. TO GET THEM TO TURN BACK ON, I HAVE TO TOGGLE THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH THROUGH ALL THE SETTINGS IN THE HOPES THAT THEY WILL COME BACK ON (WHICH THEY OCCASIONALLY DO.) THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS GOING FAST, SLOW AND NOT MOVING. IT HAPPENS IN ANY TYPE OF OUTSIDE LIGHT. THE SENSOR IS NOT BLOCKED OR DIRTY AND IT HAPPENS WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS ARE NOT IN AUTOMATIC MODE.

MY POWER STEERING PUMP IS FAILING AND MY CAR IS JOLTING FORWARD WHEN MOVING FROM A STOPPED POSITION. THE POWER STEERING IS WHINING AND HAS BEEN FOR 6 MONTHS. THE TECHNICIAN AT MY CAR DEALERSHIP SAID IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE, SO WHY HASN'T THERE BEEN A RECALL ON IT? I TRAVEL HIGHWAY A LOT AND FEAR FOR MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF MY CHILDREN.

SHORTLY AFTER I PURCHASED MY ACADIA 2 YEARS AGO MY POWER STEERING PUMP STARTED WHINING. WHEN THE BELT OR PUMP GETS WET THE POWER STEERING ITSELF GOES OUT UNEXPECTEDLY FOR A FEW SECONDS. I HAVE HAD THE SYSTEM FLUSHED THINKING MAYBE JUST AIR BUBBLES... IT WOULD BE GOOD FOR 2-3 DAYS AND RIGHT BACK TO ITS SAME ROUTINE AGAIN! ITS IRRITATING READING EVERYONE ELSE COMPLAINTS WITH THEIR 13' ACADIA POWER STEERING ISSUES AND GM HAS STILL NOT DONE ANYTHING ABOUT IT.

I was tboned January 9, 2023 the side impact airbags didn't deploy nor does it seem the seatbelts engaged. There were 2 side impacts to the passengers side ZERO airbags deployed. It WAS part of a recall AND recall work had been completed almost immediately in 2014 (GM website screenshots attached for your easy reference for the 2 recalls showing completed). YET, they STILL failed! NO indication they had an issue nor would fail when needed as they did. The driver of the other vehicle was seemingly going a high rate of speed when she failed to stop for the red light her direction and tboned me as I was traveling through an intersection for a green light my travel path. My vehicle was totaled, part of the total report attached indicated "Diagnose Airbags" as they didn't deploy. (Screenshots of a GM autobody shop estimate line item as well as CarFax report attached for your easy reference) Multiple injuries sustained, including a serious TBI.

HAD TO REPLACE MOST OF DASH WIRING HARNESS DUE TO WATER DAMAGE WHICH COULDN'T DETERMINE IF MANUFACTURING ISSUE OR ACCIDENT REPAIR. THAT WAS ABOUT $3000. NOW AFTER CHECKING KELLY BLUE BOOK POTENTIAL RECALL COMES UP. DON'T KNOW IF REPORTED PRIOR OR FIXED BY PRIOR OWNER. TOO MUCH COINCIDENCE THAT COMES UP NOW AND GOES FROM PASSENGER SIDE TO NOW DRIVER SIDE.. DEALERSHIP GOT LIGHT TO GO OFF FOR A WHILE. LATE LAST FALL CAME BACK ON AGAIN.

I WAS COMING OFF A RED LIGHT AND WAS HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE / FRONT DRIVERS SIDE OF THE CAR. THE OTHER VEHICLE WAS DRIVING AT LEAST 55 MPH AS THAT IS THE POSTED SPEED. I dont know exactly what is wrong but from online videos i think power train or transmission. When driving the vehicle will struggle/delay shifting. When it does finally shift its so hard it throws u forward. When having to quickly get on the gas it will delay to where your not really moving. This almost caused accidents multiple times. ( not pulling out in front of people) entering interstate is a good exsample. It has also lost power when crossing intersection!

After having for just under a year the transmission seems to be acting up when going from 2nd to 3rd gear around 30mph to 40mph. After reading several forms it seems this is a common occurrence in these vehicles.. not sure if it’s been reported but all the forms are showing people had to spend a good amount to determine what the issue is and seems that everyone had to replace the transmissions for the problem to go away. I’m not sure how everything works but feel it should be looked at maybe.

WHILE DRIVING THE CAR IT LOST POWER, ALL THE DASH LIGHT WENT OFF, THEN THE POWER STEERING SHUT DOWN, WHILE DRIVING 45 MILES AN HR. ONCE ABLE TO PULL OVER, THE CAR SHUT DOWN AND COULD NOT START BACK UP. THE KEY WOULD NOT COME OUT OF IGNITION. HAD IT TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALER THE CAR WAS BOUGHT FROM. THEY REPORTED IT WAS THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE WHICH THEY REPLACED BUT THE CAR STILL WILL NOT TURN ON. NOW THE SAY IT IS AN ELECTRICAL SHORT AND CAN'T FIND IT.. THIS CAR IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AS THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED AND WE FEEL THAT THEY ARE JUST GIVING US THE RUN AROUND. THE ELECTRICAL MOTOR FOR THE SIDE VIEW MIRROR MALFUNCTIONED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND NO LONGER WORKS. IT WILL NOT TURN IN AND IS STUCK OUTWARD. THE DRIVER'S SIDE WORKS AT THIS TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN MY GARAGE.

On 02/10/2022 my side warning detection monitors are both activated/lit up intrmittently while parked or driving indicating faulty operation and therefore replacement. The vehicle has around 120K miles so out of any warranty. But this will be the third or fourth time ( not original ow er so dealer has records) that this has happened. Last time in December 2020 I had an extended warranty that covered the passenger module but was not the "improved" module with some type of casing to address the corrosion causing the failures as they wanted an extra $3-400 for that part. Why they still manufacture the bad part is interesting since they have recognized they have a pro lem with the older part. Have seen other complaints that not fixing these can result in other electrical failures that can be dangerous even an electrical fire was reported from this. Obviously I feel the issue is widespread enough for a blanket recall beyond the one issued for 6 y3ears or 80K miles.

THE SERVICE SIDE DETECTION SYSTEM HAS APPEARED IN THE DIC DUE TO WATER INTRUSION IN THE SENSORS. THEY WERE ORIGINALLY REPLACED PER THE TSB16-NA-178 IN APRIL OF 2019. THE ISSUE HAS SINCE RE-OCCURRED 2/18/21 WHILE DRIVING, WHICH JEOPARDIZES MY SAFETY. I ALSO UNDERSTAND THAT THIS MAY LEAD TO ADDITIONAL ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND MAY CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO ENTER LIMP MODE.

ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO, WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE ENTIRE DASH BLACKED OUT FOR A FEW SECONDS, THEN WOULD GO THRU CHECKS AS IT WOULD COME BACK ON. THE MORNING I TOOK IT TO DEALER, THE PROBLEM STOPPED. THEY COULD FIND NOTHING. TWO DAYS AGO WHILE DRIVING VERY SLOW (MAYBE 10 MPH) IN HEAVY TRAFFIC THE DASH BEGAN GOING THRU ITS CHECKS AGAIN. I STOPPED AND WENT INTO A GAS STATION FOR A COUPLE OF MINS, RETURNED AND COULD NOT UNLOCK THE FRONT DOORS WITH MY KEY FOB. GOT INTO THE VEHICLE AND IT WOULD NOT START, NOR DID IT CRANK (NO SOUND). AFTER TRYING SEVERAL TIMES, IT DID START. O'REILLY AUTO PARTS CHECKED IT AND SAID THAT MY STARTER WAS BAD. THEY DID NOT HAVE ONE IN STOCK. I RETURNED TO THE CAR AND WHEN IT FINALLY STARTED, THE RADIO DID NOT COME ON. AFTER A FEW RE-STARTS, THE RADIO DID COME ON. RESEARCHED THE PROBLEM, AND FOUND A VIDEO ON THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL THAT MENTIONED A RECALL. CHECKED MY VIN, NO RECALL, BUT VEHICLE IS UNDER WARRANTY. HOPEFULLY THEY WILL FIND THE ISSUE AND FIX THE PROBLEM.

VEHICLE HAS APPROX 60K MILES, BLIND SPOT SENSOR STOPPED WORKING SUDDENLY. THIS IS A HAZARD AS THE DRIVER COMES TO DEPEND ON THIS INDICATOR AND IT GOES OUT SUDDENLY WITH THE LOCATION OF THE SENSOR UNDER THE WHEEL WELL/BUMPER. RESULTING COST TO REPAIR WAS OVER $600 (FOR PASSENGER SIDE) AT THE DEALERSHIP. AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS LIKELY THAT THE DRIVER SIDE WOULD GO OUT NEXT YEAR. THE DESIGN & WHERE THIS SENSOR IS PLACED IS PARTICULARLY PROBLEMATIC FOR LOW TEMP STATES AS THE SENSOR IS PLASTIC, GETS WATER IN IT AND FREEZES AND BURSTS OPEN THE PLASTIC CONTAINER. THIS IS PARTICULARLY CONCERNING WHEN IT GOES OUT WHILE DRIVING - THE DRIVER COMES TO DEPEND ON THE SENSOR LIGHTING UP THE MIRROR WHEN SOMEONE IS IN YOUR BLIND SPOT AND THIS SUV HAS A PARTICULARLY LARGE AREA WHERE CARS CAN NOT BE SEEN. THIS IS A HAZARD AND SHOULD BE RECALLED DUE TO THE DESIGN OF THIS. AS CONSUMERS, WE SHOULD NOT BEAR THE COST OF THIS REPAIR DUE TO A HORRIBLE DESIGN. AFTER I RETURNED HOME FROM A SHORT 5 MILE DRIVE IN THE EVENING ON 11/19/13, I SHUT OFF MY 6 MONTH OLD CAR IN THE DRIVEWAY AND SMOKE BEGAN POURING OUT OF THE HOOD AND SPARKS AND FIRE WERE COMING OUT BELOW THE ENGINE. I CALLED 911 AND BY THE TIME THEY ARRIVED ABOUT 5 MINUTES LATER IT WAS A FULL BLOWN, ROARING FIRE AND THE ENTIRE FRONT END WAS CONSUMED. MY DRIVEWAY SUFFERED BURN DAMAGE AS WELL. THANKFULLY NOBODY WAS HURT. GMC HAS BEEN AWFUL TO DEAL WITH. THEY HAVE NOT REPLACED MY VEHICLE, NOT REPAIRED MY DRIVEWAY AND HAVE STOPPED RETURNING MY CALLS. THE FIRE INSPECTOR SAID IT WAS THEIR FAULT AND THINKS IT STEMMED FROM THE HEATING ELEMENT THAT HEATS THE WINDSHIELD FLUID. THEY ARE STILL DOING MORE TESTING TO GET THE FINAL RESULTS THOUGH. I FEEL HELPLESS AND TOTALLY IGNORED BY GMC. I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING TO GET THROUGH TO THEM AND SIMPLY TO GET MY CAR REPLACED AND MY DRIVEWAY REPAIRED BECAUSE OF THE FAULTY PRODUCT THEY SOLD ME. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE AND I WILL NOW NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER CAR FROM THEM AND WILL SPEND AS MUCH TIME AS I HAVE SHARING THIS INCIDENT WITH OTHERS CONSIDERING PURCHASING ONE OF THEIR VEHICLES. The contact owns a 2013 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that the vehicle was intermittently difficult to start. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled. The check engine and traction control warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the alternator, stabilizer, starter, ignition switch, door panel, axle, MAP sensor, canister valve, gas cap, and power master window switch were replaced. The mechanic determined that the failure was related to the fuse box. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall related to the electrical system. The contact used a diagnostic scanner to scan the vehicle but was unable to retrieve any diagnostic trouble codes. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.

Battery saver mode activated dinged then car talked to me. I've replaced the alternator and brand new battery.....car battery draining FAST n only pulling 11.03 volts when it's supposed hit 14.5-15.5volts. Also air bag lite is on saying service airbag. I've only had the car 3 months....bought it from a dealer march 13th n till 2-3 days ago been working fine. Now saying service air bag n battery saver mode activated. I have no clue to this .....I'm lost after replacing the battery n alternator.

Left rear brake light dose not work, that is also the left rear turn signal. Part number 13582912 brake/turn signal bulb. GMC can not provide me with one. Chevrolet can not provide me with one. None of the chain store parts companies have them either. I have call GMC customer service line and also Chevrolet customer service line. They are of no help. Thank You.

The original side detection system is not an enclosed system. Allowing water, snow, sleet, and salt can penetrate the system. Once, there is penetration and corrosion in the system it effects the entire automobile's electrical system and instrument cluster. Causing the vehicle to come to a complete halt.

I brought the car to the dealer due to an AIRBAG warning light on my dash. My VIN, regardless of identical issues to those noted in the dealer recalls, was not included in them. The items below were noted by the dealer as requiring immediate attention and estimated to cost $2,400. Current Mileage: 95,635 - AIRBAGS LR and RS Side Impact Sensor faulty. If not replaced the airbag system will not function correctly at the time of impact, preventing the airbags from deploying, and putting the passengers of the vehicle in harm's way. Warning light on dash alerts to sensor's invalid data from the sensor. - TAIL LIGHT casings fill with water causing an electrical short and the bulbs to burn out. This also causes a double-time ticking when you try the turn signal, alerting you to the issues.

I HAVE NEVER HAD TO REPLACE BULBS IN THE HEADLIGHTS IN A VEHICLE I HAVE OWNED. THE HEADLIGHTS IN THIS VEHICLE WERE GOOD ABOUT 2 YEARS. BUT, SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE BOTH BULBS IN THE HEADLIGHTS EVERY YEAR. AND, I HAVE TO HAVE THE A/C SYSTEM WORKED ON EVERY YEAR AS WELL BEGINNING 3 MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED IT. THE DECREASE IN SPEED IS SIGNIFICANT ENOUGH THAT ON NOW 3 OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE HAS ALMOST NEARLY BEEN REAR-ENDED. ADDITIONALLY, ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL THE FOLLOWING INDICATORS AND MESSAGES OCCUR: - "CHECK ENGINE LIGHT" - "TRACTION CONTROL OFF" - "ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED" - "SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL" - "SERVICE STABILITRAK" ADDITIONAL SYMPTOMS: - LOSS OF POWER STEERING - LOSS OF POWER BRAKES ONCE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF AND SITS FOR A FEW MINUTES. THE VEHICLE WILL START AND ALL OF THE SYMPTOMS ABOVE WILL GO AWAY WITH THE EXCEPTION SOMETIMES OF THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THIS INDICATOR GOES OFF AFTER VEHICLE HAS SAT OVERNIGHT. I PURCHASED A 2013 GMC ACADIA FROM CAR MAX ON FEBRUARY 16TH OF THIS YEAR. AFTER 3 WEEKS THE BATTERY WAS COMPLETELY DEAD, BUT CAR MAX REIMBURSED THE COST TO REPLACE. FAST FORWARD TO MAY 24TH...AS I TRY TO LEAVE FROM WORK THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. THE DASH DISPLAYED SEVERAL MESSAGES: REDUCED ENGINE POWER, STABILITRAK OFF, AND BATTERY SAVER ACTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO TIRE KINGDOM AND THE DIAGNOSIS WAS A BAD FUEL PUMP/FUEL PUMP MODULE. THE PART WAS REPLACED AND COMPUTER RESET. ALL WAS WELL FOR 3 DAYS AND THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURRED INCLUDING A DEAD BATTERY! I DROVE THE VEHICLE APPROXIMATELY THREE MORE DAYS BEFORE THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED AGAIN. THIS TIME, I HAD IT TOWED TO THE GMC DEALERSHIP. THEY HAD MY VEHICLE FROM JUNE 5TH- JUNE 12TH AND EVEN THOUGH THEY RECEIVED 6 ERROR CODES, THEY STATED IT WAS THE BATTERY (THE SAME ONE REPLACED IN FEBRUARY AND WAS RECHARGED A WEEK PRIOR). I WAS SURE THAT WASN'T THE ONLY PROBLEM, BUT THEY WERE CONFIDENT IT WAS. I HAD TO PAY $508 OUT OF POCKET FOR BATTERY/ DIAGNOSTIC BECAUSE MY WARRANTY ONLY COVERS THE DIAGNOSTIC WITH REPAIRS. ALL SEEMED WELL FOR 3 DAYS. THIS TIME AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE AND REACHING MY DESTINATION THE TRUCK WOULD NOT SHUT OFF! I IMMEDIATELY CALLED GMC (CEL ILLUMINATED) AND AFTER 10 MINUTES THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. I TOOK IT TO THEM THE NEXT DAY AND THEY STARTED IT HAD A BAD FUES BLOCK. THEY REPAIRED IT, BUT 8 DAYS LATER THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T START AGAIN! ON JULY 2ND IT WAS TAKEN TO A SHOP FOR THE 6TH TIME! THIS TIME THEY ARE SAYING IT IS THE ECM. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT FAILED TO PROPERLY REPAIR MY VEHICLE AND POSSIBLY SOLD MY VEHICLE TO ME WITH PRIOR KNOWLEDGE OF FAULTY "BATTERY CHARGING SYSTEM". I WAS TOLD I JUST NEEDED A NEW BATTERY (WHICH WAS REPLACED TWICE WITHIN THE SAME WEEK). THIS PROCESS BEGAN ON 11/12/2016. I RECEIVED THE SAME ERROR ON MY DASH (BATTERY CHARGING SYSTEM NEEDS SERVICING) AND MY BATTERY HAD TO BE JUMPED JUST LIKE BEFORE ON 4/12/2017. I CONTACTED ONSTAR AND MADE AN APPT.WITH THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT MCCARTHY MORSE CHEVROLET FOR THE NEXT MORNING (4/13/2017). HOWEVER I DIDN'T MAKE IT BECAUSE MY CAR WENT UP IN FLAMES IN MY GARAGE ABOUT 15MINS. AFTER ME AND MY CHILDREN GOT OUT OF IT!!!! OTHER ISSUES THAT WERE ADDRESSED DURING THIS 6MO. ONCE THE CAR POWERS DOWN OR IS TURNED OFF, IT WILL RESTART. USUALLY THE ENGINE LIGHT INDICATOR WILL TURN ON. IT HAS POWERED DOWN AT IT'S PEAK FREQUENCY THREE TIMES WITHIN 10 MILES. THE ISSUE IS TOTALLY UNPREDICTABLE AND HAS HAPPENED OVER 8 TIMES TOTAL, INCLUDING ON THE HIGHWAY TRAVELING 65-70 MILES PER HOUR AND ON A NEIGHBORHOOD STREET GOING AS SLOW AS 20 MILES PER HOUR. IT HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE GMC DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED FOR REPAIRS 4 TIMES, BEGINNING IN APRIL 2017. IT IS CURRENTLY THERE NOW (THE 4TH TIME, WAS TOWED TODAY 6/19/17;). IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AS THERE IS NO WAY OF KNOWING WHEN OR WHERE THE CAR WILL LOOSE POWER. THERE IS VERY LITTLE TIME TO DO ANYTHING WHEN THE WARNING SOUND/MESSAGE APPEARS. LITERALLY, YOU MUST PRAY THAT NO ONE HITS YOU AND THAT YOU CAN COAST TO A SAFE PART OF THE ROAD (E.G., SHOULDER). THE DEALER HAS BEEN UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OR REPAIR THE VEHICLE PROPERLY. IF THE TRACTION CONTROL SYMBOL IS STILL ON THE DISPLAY, IT WILL NOT RESTART. IT HAS BEEN INTO THE GM DEALER IT WAS PURCHASED FROM WITH SCHEDULED EVALUATION OF THE PROBLEM AND THEY STATE THERE IS NOT A PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE AND NO CODES STORED IN THE SYSTEM FOR THEM TO EVALUATE THIS PROBLEM. WE CALLED 911 AND THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED WITHIN 4 MINUTES AND WERE ABLE TO PUT THE FIRE OUT AND DISABLE THE BATTERY. GM HAD THE CAR PICKED UP AND DROPPED US A BRAND NEW 2014 ACADIA A FEW WEEKS LATER AT NO CHARGE. WE WERE TOLD IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WITH THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS BUT I WANTED TO BE SURE THIS INCIDENT WAS REPORTED SINCE NO ONE ASKED FOR A FORMAL REPORT. I JUST WANT TO BE SURE THIS DOESNT OCCUR TO ANY OTHER FAMILIES THAT MAY HAVE WORSE CONSEQUENCES. *TR
