My Acadia, 2021 has just 36011 miles. Car sputtered a few times like it was running out of gas and stalled as I was driving home in rush hour traffic. I couldn't even get it off the road. No warning lights or advance warning. Waited 3 hours for AAA (told 20 minutes) and then towed to dealer. Tow person could not get it into neutral so they used the sleds to ramp it up onto the flatbed. The dealer replaced the fuel module board which seems to be a common problem with these cars. Dangerous in that I thought someone might rear end the car while sitting in the single lane. Look on the Acadia forum and you'll see this is common and no recall has been issued and it sounds like it could very well happen again.

I was driving down a heavy traffic expressway with a lot of semi traffic and the SUV started puttering. All of a sudden it died, the check engine light came on and I started to slow down quickly. I was in the middle lane of 3 lanes going 70 mph. VERY LUCKILY, I was able to pull to the right and barely made it onto the shoulder. The SUV had $28,972 miles on it. It was more that 100 degrees outside at the time. I called for a tow and had to wait over 2 hours. My car was nearly hit many times during the wait. The whole situation was very dangerous. What if my children were in the car at the time???? The tow truck driver was nearly killed while trying to get it on the truck. He had to call the police to block the lane. He stated that he could not put it in neutral and had to do something else with it to get it up. It was towed to the dealership where I purchased it. They did the diagnostics and said it was a fuel pump module issue. Less than 30,000 miles and this happened. I was planning to take a trip through the mountains, but at this point I do not feel safe at all in this vehicle. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL IF GMC IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE!!!!!

Driving on rt 95n in Ga. Going 70 mph and vehicle just bucked and shut off. At the time I was in the middle lane and almost got hit by a tractor trailer while I was trying to get to the right side of the road. Called general motors roadside assistance and they supplied a tow company to tow me to a dealer in Ga. About 35 miles away unfortunately it was Sunday dealer was closed and I had to get a taxi to take me to a hotel with all my luggage. On Monday morning when the service dept. Opened they advised me the fuel pump module had failed and would be replaced. Luckily most times when vehicles shut off with push button electronically shifted transmissions you can't put the vehicle in neutral to move or tow but after many tries it went to neutral(according to the tow driver) also after researching my vehicles failure I found this is a wide spread problem among many gm suvs and trucks! Hopefully a recall is in the future before someone gets killed!!

Car stalled at intersection and unable to restart. The car would not go into neutral to get the car out of the roadway. The fuel pump driver or fuel pump fail with 41k miles. The condition is very unsafe.

While driving, the vehicle shut off without warning. It was in-traffic when this occurred and subsequently blocked traffic. I tried to restart the vehicle many times. It would start and then die within a few seconds. Since the vehicle would not remain running, it was impossible to shift out of the "park" position. Since it was in "park", the vehicle could not be readily moved out of traffic. This failure is a safety hazard! The vehicle was towed from the scene. The dealer diagnosed the problem as the "Powertrain control module lost communication the the fuel pump driver module causing no fueling to engine from low pressure fuel pump U18A..." The fuel pump control module had internal communication circuit failure. GMC module 13554820 was replaced.

I was driving down the road and all the sudden my breaks locked up. Like I had to stand on the break with both feet for it to barely stop. After getting it to the repair shop they said my vacuum pump exploded. My problem is it’s very well taken care of car and absolutely no warning light was on. I had no warning at all just all the sudden wouldn’t stop. Now I’m 7,600 in the hole because of this and very upset my not even 5 year old car is having these problems.

GM need to be looked at for faulty Thermostats being put into vehicles. While driving the message "steering assist is reduced " You get to a safe place and shut you car off and the fan still runs. After speaking with my dealer today, he said he has done 7 in last week. And if you look online, everyone especially Acadia models is having this problem. Customers are getting charged alot of money for the repair. To me this is a defective thermostat on GM and needs to be addressed

The contact owns a 2021 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that after a routine maintenance at the local dealer, it was noticed that the radiator was leaking coolant. Upon further inspection, the contact and his son noticed that the driver’s side of the radiator was corroded. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 32,175.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a fractured rear cap catalyst converter cap. The contact was informed that the catalyst converter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the original catalyst converter was replaced by the same dealer less than two years ago under warranty. In addition, the contact stated the front catalyst converter was replaced by the same dealer five weeks ago. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline and report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.

While driving the engine cut out. I wasn't able to get the vehicle off the road and had to put in an acceleration lane until I could get a tow. Other drivers entering the roadway were accelerating and some didn't realize that my road hazard lights were on and almost hit me. The vehicle was given a diagnostic check by a service station and say that the Fuel Pump Power Control Module is not working. After checking the Internet I found a recall for this item on other GMC models but not the Acadia. There was no advance warning for the malfunction.

The fuel pump control module failed, 2021Acadia Denali First time, 9/22/21 8073 miles, the car was parked at the residence under the car port, when needed, the car would not start. No check engine or other indicators. Car was towed to dealer for repairs under warranty. Second time, 10/6/23 31879 miles, we were driving the car on a rural road, 55 mph speed limit with no shoulders when the car stopped in a curve. Had to flag down cars to keep them from hitting us for an hour till the wrecker loader it on the truck to take back to same dealership for warranty repairs. Third time, 7/29/25 48199 miles, we were again on a rural road 55 mph speed limit when the car stopped with my 71 year old wife alone in the car, again in a curve. This time there was a check engine light. I drove my truck to pick her up and assist her until the wrecker came. This time with luck I was able to restart the car and I followed her to our home where the tow truck picked it up and brought it to the same dealership for the third time for repairs under warranty. All three times the culprit was the fuel pump control module. Each time it was the same code in the ECM. Each time the dealership said they did a full check on the fuel system, pump, etc. and only replaced the fuel pump control module.

The Radio in my 2021 GMC Acadia had to be replaced due to an UPDATE Failure. I had to pay $221.32 for diagnostic and $1,580.18 for a new Radio. My Husband and I are the original owners of the 2021 GMC Acadia. My Dissatisfaction is why are some GMC products under recall for this issue but my 2021 GMC Acadia not part of the recall. While driving down the interstate at 70mph+, the instrument panel went black and restarted multiple times. The car continued to stay at a sustained speed, but I was unable to control anything or see how fast I was going. It appears as if the car has shut off, but it isn't. It also affects the lights. It has happened multiple times with no known cause. When I brought this up at the dealership, they said that it would be an $80 diagnostic fee and unless they can replicate the problem they can't do anything about it because it doesn't throw any error codes. There was another women in the dealership the same time as me with the exact same issue. No fix offered. Looking online and talking to others this seems like a common issue that GMC is ignoring.

Electronic dashboard failure. Entire instrument panel randomly shuts off while driving, including speedometer and all gauges. Driver then has to wait for system to reboot itself before it begins working again. This condition is completely random and may not occur for months, or may occur several times within minutes. This is a safety issue due to the driver's inability to monitor speed. It is also possible that other safety systems are being shut down while waiting for the system to reboot. GM has known about this software glitch since 2021, and it affects certain GM vehicle models from 2021-2023. (Refer to GM TSB# 21-NA-054). NHTSA should require a recall for this problem.

Driving out of state. My 2021 Acadia with 41,172 miles. When pushing the gas to go there is slippage when trying to accelerate. MY car went automatically into neutral saying transmission and then not start. After a rest period it would start then repeat the same issue. In bumper to bumper traffic on I75. The most Terrifying & UNSAFE place to be at 75 to 80 mph. We happened to be driving up on construction and slow down traffic. When the car stalled. Towed it to a transmission place because of code. They replaced the DTR1 PCM.

Was accelerating to approx 45-50mph when the vehicle gave no power, but my RPMs were revving. Once removing my foot off the gas pedal and trying to get power back, after the 2nd or 3rd time I resumed power. The car has less than 9000 miles on it. Right after, a message alerted me to have the vehicle brought in for service, and the engine light came on. According to the dealership, the found code P0700 which is normal, followed by P7224, something I am unable to locate anywhere online. They said they tested everything and all came back normal. It's been noted and if it happens again to let them know. I'm not feeling comfortable paying 50K+ for a vehicle to have it go haywire under 10K miles.

My car suddenly out of the blue started overheating. By the time I could get stopped safely and turn the car off the engine fan kept running to try to cool it down. I’ve never had any issues with my car. It only has 47,000 miles on it. I now have to have it towed to a mechanic shop to get diagnosed, but I’m hearing that it’s probably a thermostat and that the GMC Acadia’s are famous for that being a problem. I’m not sure why GMC would not do a recall on this part! this is an extremely expensive fix.

The exhaust resonator failed only a few hundred miles after warranty (60,300) and not covered by dealer under warranty. It creates a noise and reduces power/performance, which could inherently create a safety concern. The vehicle was inspected by an independent service center. The following code for the rattle noise is PIT5863.

The fabric on my headliner/ceiling is coming unglued or the clips are not holding it. It is a danger to my driving the car as it is continually loosening; which could potentially fall while I am driving the car. It is making an irritating squeaking noise which distracts my concentration from driving carefully. I took the car to Walker GMC in Alexandria, Louisiana. The mechanic and the service advisor both told me GMC has issued an instruction form on how to fix this problem as GMC has had complaints with this happening to the Acadias. I contacted GMC customer service. They will not let me know if they will cover the cost of the repair until I get an estimate. Walker is wanting to charge approximately $188 for the estimate. Since this is a safety issue, I am reporting this problem to your agency so that others may be protected and GMC will take care of this problem.

No matter what speed I am driving at or whether or not there is a passenger my service safety restraint system light comes on randomly and shuts off randomly. I called the dealership and they brushed it off saying it just means the airbag wont deploy if I were to get into an accident. Great thanks that makes me feel real safe! I see several people complaining about this as well and think it might be time to look into what the problem is and do a recall.

Airbag light on dash comes on solid. Dealership had vehicle for 3 days and repair made to seat belt tensioner, days later, airbag light returns on dash. Other GM vehicles were recalled for airbag problems but maybe should include the Acadia.

The vehicle was traveling at a very low speed in a parking lot and impacted a light pole. All front airbags deployed and the drivers steering wheel airbag deployed severely breaking the drivers arm, causing shoulder injuries, and neck injuries. The occupant would have been completely fine had the airbags not deployed.

The contact stated service restraint system warning message was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with needing the SDM module replaced. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V702000 (Air Bags) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. On numerous occasions the key fob is not detected and locked out of vehicle. Key fob notice on panel saying it’s not detected while driving. Took it to Jim Causley GMC dealer several times and then they kept vehicle for a week unable to duplicate and sent me on my way. This is still happening with no help.

Vehicle has previously been brought in to GMC dealership at least 2-3 times for the dash turning on and off while driving. Started happening around 5,000 miles here and there. First took it in just over 7,000 miles as it was happening more and more frequently. It was last in for the issue on 2/6/23. The dash turned completely off WHILE driving going approx 45-50 mph, is not turning back on, unable to see speed while driving.

On at least 3 occasions, my vehicle’s locks have malfunctioned and I’ve been locked out of my car with one incident being locked out in the rain. Upon approaching my vehicle and using the unlock button on the outside of my door, I was unable to access my vehicle. Then trying my key fob and app to unlock, with all attempts unsuccessful. The back hatch of the vehicle would open, so my daughter had to crawl through to manually open the door. Once the vehicle was started, once put in drive, the vehicle would not lock. As stated, I can confirm three dates this has happened and that I’ve contacted my local dealer. I am pretty sure it’s happened one other time but I can not remember the date. The dealer would only look at it once and could not find anything wrong because the problem did not happen in the short time my vehicle was there. I do have video of at least one instance that I can provide.

Car was parked overnight in my garage and in the morning it would turn over, but not start. Had to have it towed to my GMC dealer, but had great difficulty moving the car out of the garage because the transmission remains in PARK if the engine is not running. Had this happened on a highway while driving and without a place to safely get off the road ( which HAS happened to others who have made this same complaint to NHTSA), this could have been an extremely hazardous situation for the occupants of the vehicle. The engine will suddenly shut down, power steering is lost, and power braking will also be lost. This problem was diagnosed as a failed fuel pump module. The failed part was replaced by the dealer (GM part#13554820). The service manager acknowledged that this is a known and common issue and that GM is aware of it but has not issued a voluntary recall. The manager also advised that this part has not been updated and that it may fail again without warning. Please....this is a serious safety issue that needs to be addressed before someone is injured or killed while abandoning a car stalled in traffic that cannot be moved.

THEY HAD A PART IN STOCK TO REPAIR IT. IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS THE “DRIVERS FUEL PUMP MODULE” .WAS SURPRISED THAT THERE WAS NOT A RECALL AS THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A DEADLY INCIDENT DURING RUSH HOUR ON THE ROADS IN MY AREA. WHILE RESEARCHING FOUND A RECALL ON FULL SIZE GMC 2021 SUVS FROM LAST YEAR (NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER 21V739000) ! WHY IS THIS NOT BEING DEALT WITH ON THE 2021 ACADIAS? The rear view camera was supposed to have been fixed during the safety recall in 2022, but two years later and over seven visits to dealership service repair shop, it still has not been fixed. GMC says they don't know how to fix it because they have tried everything and that because my warranty has been "out" one month - there is nothing they can do for me. My back up camera has not worked since the recall repair. What can I do? The car has been in the shop, who says they are contacting GMC Service Expert - but they are not communicating with me anymore. I have no car and no fix.

Recently took vehicle for alignment for a pull to the right. After 3 alignments at the dealership I was told the rack and pinion gear sensor shorted out causing the vehicle to pull to the right. Also the exhaust has a rattle in the resonator confirmed by 2 sources. I asked the dealer to fix years ago under bumper to bumper and tsb PIT5863. I was told not enough techs and not enough time so now the warranty is expired and the issue isn't fixed.

I have had nothing but issues with this vehicle from the day I purchased it. I should have been more leery of purchasing a vehicle with so few miles on it as a certified vehicle. First issue lift gate wouldn’t work. Had to have sensors replaced twice. Next was the purge valve sensor that has went bad 3 separate times. Then the crankcase vent sensor. Paid a fee for diagnostics, it was not repaired took it back when the engine light came back on, they replaced it without charging but I was advised it’s not covered under warranty. And most recently my check engine light came on yet again today now reading an issue with the engine cooling system. Unfortunately the dealer is so booked out, my only option is to drop it off and hope they can get it in by a cancellation or no show. Seems there are new issues ever 3-6 months with the car.

I have 43,000 miles on my car and I do not by any means drive hard or really ever go over 50 MPH and I am being told that my rear tow links are loose and need to be replaced. I have NEVER had to replace those in any vehicle I have ever owned especially a 2021 vehicle with under 50k miles on it. I have read that there is a recall on the 2022 Acadia's for this exact issue so I can only assume it is the same issue happening on the 2021's as well.

The dealer was made aware of the failure and it was arranged for the vehicle to be towed to the dealer for diagnosis. The contact stated that the vehicle was towed to the dealer prior to the failure after the contact heard an abnormal noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. However, the dealer could not replicate the failure and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 12,000.

While driving down a busy road automatic braking engaged for no reason causing the Acadia to abruptly come to a dead stop in the middle of the road with nothing in front of me. Red collision lights came on at the same time as braking with no prior warnings. Could not get the car to move for a few minutes (when giving gas there were grinding sounds) then the braking system let up. Drove for another few minutes and it did it again. Called GM and WE had to figure out how to get the car to the dealership with a major safety issue. Took the car in and it was throwing B390F, U0184, B395A codes. When we received the vehicle back one of the codes was for a bad back up camera so the new rear back up camera view is so stretched you can’t use it to back up nor does it have the lines anymore. The rear view camera now has a view that is sideways. So I took the car back to the dealership and they had no clue how either could be happening and would look into it again. Did my own research and figured out there are two cameras on the tailgate so the rear view camera was reinstalled wrong. Sent proof of how I came to the conclusion and that I wanted the backup camera replaced/fixed also. Its been over a month and I cannot get my car fixed because I refuse to pay for a rental on something they messed up because they have no loaners. Well on 11/14/2022 my cars automatic braking system activated again only this time it stopped in the middle of the road and was not as dramatic as last time. The warning lights came on as the car was coming to a stop. This time I was able to move shortly after it came to a complete stop. GM dealership wants me to bring the car in somehow and I will be carless for who knows how long. There is also a safety recall for a cable for the backup camera with no parts available. I have an RO number and a complaint number.

Was on the interstate driving when the emergency brake engaged causing the car skid the tires and almost completely coming to a stop in heavy traffic. Shortly after this the transmission had issues which caused the car to be undrivable and had to be towed. The dealership had the car for over a month and replaced the TCM. There were no other warnings prior to this.

All of this happens in a cycle. To stop it the battery has to be unplugged and reconnected resetting the car and everything goes back to being fine for a short period of time.

I was driving home and about 10 minutes into my drive I got a notification about my steering assistance being disabled. When I arrived home about 10 minutes or so later and went to shut my car off I noticed that a very loud fan sound from the hood of my vehicle began roaring. I restarted my car and it went away. I looked at my temperature gauge and it was all the way on C. I tried shutting my car off again and the loud electrical fan sound picked right back up again. I stayed in my vehicle while it was turned off waiting to see if it would stop while trying to call for answers. I couldn’t risk having a dead battery for work tomorrow morning. After what was about 6-7 minutes the electrical fan finally shut off. Turns out my aunt JUST had this exact same issue with her 2021 GMC Acadia as well. According to Reddit MANY people are having this issue yet there is still no recall for this problem. My car is only at 85K miles, has always been dealership maintained and has never had any issues like this until now. If this is a wide spread make and model issue a recall should have been issued.

While driving, error popped up stating steering assist is reduced; drive with caution. Heat was no longer working. Engine temp was reading cold even though vehicle had been running for half hour and temp outside was 65 F. After vehicle was stopped, engine fan ran very loudly for at least 15 minutes. Took vehicle in to have diagnostics ran, and received error P0128 pointing to faulty engine coolant thermostat and sensor. Also received U0401 indicating insufficient data coming from ECM/PCM. I was told that together with U0401 and P0128 together indicate a communication problem between control modules. Check engine light was never on.

While this was occurring, none of the advanced driver assistance systems functioned, nor did the speedometer or other gauges. This occurred while on a trip, and meant having to travel a long distance without having emergency braking, collision warnings or the ability to monitor speed. Car was not touched I was told it was a internal issue and that the GM Engineers would need to replace the infotainment system They looked at it again In November of 2022 No closer to finding a problem I called Gmc Because by now My Temperature coolant sensor was working then not working car would say reduced parking assist and then if hot Air conditioning wouldn’t work I Called GMC offices filed numerous complaints. They called the service manager no one would take calls nothing would get done. So [XXX]I’m Driving down [XXX] heading east a big Truck flys off of [XXX] slams into side of my SUV Destroys every panel on passengers side of vehicle The Acadia mine with all the curtain air bags in the a pillar in ceiling on the front and back seats on top Side and bottom side not one deploys not even on the A pillar where rear passengers door is ripped off. May 2023 we took the car to the GM dealership for a electronic recall. We reported a rattling noise at that point in time. Whatever repair was done that the car ran w/o any noise for nearly a year. April 2024 the catalytic converter failed at just 61K miles on this vehicle. The mechanic at the same dealership noted a broken mounting bracket and replaced the catalytic converter. October 24 2024 at 76K miles the car started making the same noise. The mechanic at the same dealership noted a loose mounting bracket due to an excessively vibrating catalytic converter, a crack on the cat converter, a leak and sequentially damaged front pipe. They noted they made all of those repairs. They noted they test drove the vehicle and verified the car was repaired. October 26, 2024 after those final repairs the car made a loud revving noise and emitted a smell of sulfur. The next day the car died on the road while driving. Every system of he vehicle shut down and I narrowly avoided getting hit from behind. On 11/2/24 We had the car towed to the dealership again. The mechanic noted the recent replacement on the cat converter & oil had leaked intermixing. That caused the motor to seize and the car to stop working while I was on the road driving. I can't imagine what could've happened to me had it stop on the highway at 65mph.

The car stopped working all of a sudden, I was driving the car with no issues that morning and parked & shut off car to go to my appt. I turned the car back on and worked fine as I was putting in my address on the GPS my car just stopped and shut off by itself. I pushed the start button and it sounded like it wanted to start but it wouldn't and the whole engine shooked. Called GM and car still under warranty had it towed to the nearest GM. They diagnosed it and said it was the fuel injector module that went bad. It's 2021 with only 23800 miles. After a week, just got it back for a day and now the cooling fan has a loud noise, check engine light on, coolant stays on C even after driving it more than 10 mins, ac blows hot air, I get an alert with steering assist is reduced and to drive with care.....seems like something is wrong with the thermostat.

My grandson used the safety restraint in the middle second row seat. He pulled the belt out to put it on and it would not retract. I have taken it to the dealership to have it fixed but there is a fee of $515 to fix it. I do not feel I should have to pay the since it seems to be an ongoing problem with the Acadia model. I purchased a 2018 model before this one and the same thing happened with the middle safety restraint in the second row seat. I have contacted GM and they informed me there is nothing they can do to waive the fee of fixing this defect.

Driving at 70mph on Interstate 69 near Charlotte Michigan at around 10 pm on Wednesday 8/23/2023. Passenger side front tire suddenly deflated. Limped the SUV into a store parking lot at interchange. Continental 235/65R18 106H tire was changed by road side service and spare installed. This morning , while examining tire and rim , found two long radial cracks approximately 50 to 75 mm in length on the outboard surface of the tire. The cracks are about 90 degrees apart. The vehicle has just under 34000 miles on the OEM installed tires. The reason I am contacting NHTSA is that the cracks do not look like road hazard/debris, rather a split in the sidewall. I have not taken the tire back to the dealer or a tire store. I did photo document the failure and cracks.

This happened in the festival foods parking lot around 5:05 pm today (7/16/23). Once I moved out from under it I saw the left arm was popped off. I popped it back in , there is a metal piece that was messed up. It came/ happened out of nowhere. I’ve never had an issue with it.

As I was stopped in line behind a car at the ATM, my foot slipped from the brake, I quickly placed it back only to find that I ended up going forward. I quickly moved my foot more to the left for the brake only to end up going forward even faster hitting the car in front of me. I then put my left foot firmly on the brake. Now with both feet on the brake the car is climbing up the car in front of me and not braking. Finally, I put it in park and cut the engine. The whole front end of my car is crushed. Now 5 days earlier my husband had a similar incident when he was parking the car and thankfully only hitting the curb. Looking at the brake pedal you will find that there is a rubber edge hanging down on the right side. IF YOUR FOOT SLIPS BELOW IT while crossing from the accelerator going right to left, YOU WILL NOT hit the brake but will continue to press the accelerator. In fact, if you raise your foot upward, you will only raise the brake. The only way to get to the brake is to get out from under it by going toward the accelerator and then back to the left. This action does not work in an emergency! I believe this rubber edge is too large is a safety hazard. We are still in the process of assessment by insurance, body shop and GMC.

My emergency parking brake keeps engaging on its own, as I come to a stop, jeeking me forward. I never even put it in park, but it just engages the parking brake in a forceful manner. At a couple different times, while going at about 40 mph, the car starting shaking terribly, slowing the vehicle. The check engine light came on as well as both parking brake lights on the dash (the indicator light saying the parking brake was on and the indicator light saying there was a problem with the brakes). It felt light the vehicle had engaged the parking brake with I was driving and was dragging the parking brake. I have been having problems with the brakes with the vehicle and have taken it to the dealership a few times for this issue. They only kept it overnight and told me there was nothing they could do because it didn't happen while they had it. I have a fractured back and am disabled, and this issues actually hurts me when it does it.

Brand new vehicle purchased from dealer, at 8900 miles transmission slipped. Dealer has for 2 hours and couldn’t find problem, but replaced transmission fluid it was dark. At 9000 it happened again, they have vehicle and said the new transmission fluid is dark and muddy. Only 100 miles, so they determined they need to take apart transmission and see what happened. I want to voice my concerns with the windshield wipers, and storage placement. In winter weather conditions the storage compartment at the base of the windshield fills up with snow, even when driving. The wiper blades eventually end up resting on this snow. When wipers are turned on there is a quite often a build up of ice on the wiper blades. This causes the wiper blades to raise above windshield and not clean the windshield (partially or completely) Generally you need to stop and break/snow or ice from the wiper as you can not see. Same occurs when e get a freezing rain ice builds up at base of windshield then eventually ices up the wiper blades and not cleaning the windshield. The vehicle is not designed to handle winter and freezing rain conditions, after building vehicles for many years we should have a better wiper system. --Blades should have electric heat wires in them, --maybe need completely electric windshield to handle snow/ice cond. -- The placement of the defroster vents are very poorly placed, they should be all across the base of the windshield. A couple of days ago we had freezing rain, blades were freezing up, heater defroster was at max heat, and fan was at max, I had to constantly pull over and scrape ice off. This is very dangerous situation be it ice or snow. Design engineers really don't seem to take the winter conditions into consideration in the design of vehicles. I have driven over 5 million kms during my career and used to dealing with many types of conditions. No accidents . Just want to bring these issue to your attention. Electronic parking brake is setting itself without you doing it even when parked on a completely flat surface. Voice activated assist is going off while driving down the road without you hitting the steering wheel button. 1st dealer I took the car to refused to even address issue because the car didn’t throw a code even though the parking break issue happened while in their parking lot. 2nd dealer at this point has had the car for a total of 16 days. They tried to tell me the parking break was normal, manager at actual dealership told me it definitely was not normal, and they don’t know what to do about voice activation going off. It has now been at dealerships 3 times for this issue within Oct and Nov 2021. Only 4,500 miles on car. If it is having these electric issues already what is in store for this car in the future? My husband has a video on YouTube of voice activated assist issue so far 2 other people are saying their cars are having the same issue.

My 2021 Acadia just stooped working as COMPLETLY SHUT OFF. I had no power to contact OnStar or more importantly to put my 4 ways(Hazard lights) on to signal or warn other motorists that there is a problem ahead. I could not push the vehicle as it is locked in gear because of the termination of power. I have had this exact problem happen 3 times leaving me and my family stranded on a busy road with nothing working. On each occasion I have removed my family from the vehicle in fear of being rear-ended! This would not only cause an accident with harm or fatality to my family, but has put that same risk to other motorists on the road. When I have had the vehicle in the dealership (Champion Buick/GMC of Brighton) in which it needs to be towed, they have not been able to find or confirm this issue. The dealership has had the vehicle for multiple weeks with help and assistance of GM with also no resolution. This is a very intermittent issue and when it happens it is an extremely dangerous situation. The vehicle gives no warning except for a total shut down.

Since purchase of this vehicle in Dec 2020, the rear camera vision has been intermittent. I originally thought it to be driver problem however I am now told that there is a module that needs to be replaced and it is not available and possibly not being manufactured at the present time. As a result the entire Camera parking assist system is completely out of service with no information on when the module may be available to repair the issue. I believe this may be a Safety issue as backing up into traffic be it parking lots or roadways, this equipment is an essential addition to safety to other vehicles and pedestrians.

The contact owns a 2021 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that while his wife was reversing the vehicle, the accelerator pedal was stuck to the floorboard and the vehicle crashed into the garage wall. No medical attention was received. No police report was filed. The dealer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact to tow the vehicle to their location to diagnose the failure. The vehicle was awaiting a tow truck and had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 2,500.
