While driving the vehicle at about 20mph about a week ago, the check hybrid light began flashing. After stopping and restarting the vehicle, the check engine light came on. The vehicle has been diagnosed at a Volkswagen dealership service center as leaking hydraulic fluid from the transmission mechatronics control unit and needing a new transmission and hydraulic pump. This vehicle is not included on the Safety Recall Code: 34J6.

I bought a 2013 VW Jetta Hybrid in 2015 from a VW dealer with ~15,000 miles on it. Question #1: In December 2017, the power train system/transmission failed and my car lost power and I was unable to drive it. Now, in May 2024, the transmission is failing again and VW had stated that it needs to be replaced for a second time, and they quoted me roughly $10,000 for the repair. Question #2: VW issued a safety recall that mentions "hairline cracks in the transmission gearbox which can cause a decrease in oil pressure" which, in turn, "can cause the clutch to fail to engage, resulting in a sudden loss of drive power, increasing the risk of crash." (In the last month, VW has denied any recalls associated with my VIN. However, I attached a document issued from USAA that states that my VIN could be associated with 8 different safety-related recalls. The first on the list of these recalls is related to vehicles with the same year, make, and model as mine that are equipped with a DQ200 7-speed DSG Automatic Transmission. The NHTSA ID for this recall is 19V866000.) Question #3: In 2017, the first time I had a power train system issue, the car was towed to the nearest VW dealer, and I had the transmission replaced there. (Documentation of repair attached.) In 2024, I received a full diagnostic that includes the transmission needing to be replaced for a second time. Question #4: The vehicle/issue has been inspected by a certified VW Dealer. Question #5: I took my car to the same dealer that replaced the transmission in 2017. In May of 2024, I took my car to VW right after 5 warning lights appeared on my dashboard all at once (steering system, airbag, traction control, ABS, and tire pressure; photo attached) The service department at the VW dealer conducted a full diagnostic and said that I need to replace the transmission for a second time.

The car has 39k miles on it and needs a new transmission. When at stop lights it cycles back and forth from the engine to electric. Sometimes the vehicle jolts forward for some reason unbeknownst to me. Close call running into the vehicle ahead of me. Then other times it is so sluggish and hardly wants to take off from a stop. It makes a clunking noise at slower speeds. It was diagnosed and has a hairline crack within the transmission electronic gearbox which is causing an internal transmission oil leak and a decrease in oil pressure. I did some research and my car is diagnosed with the same “exact” issue in a recall yet my VIN says it’s not affected. It’s very well affected. This issue needs addressed before a tragic accident occurs. No well cared for vehicle after 39k miles should need a new transmission. I don’t have the documentation at the moment. My vehicle is still sitting at the shop. I will upload documents upon receiving them.

This is a common problem with the 2013 vw hybrid Jetta. The dealership charged me $300 and told me I needed to just replace my transmission because the mechtronic unit has cracks in it. No mention of a recall. Here is a description of my issue (found online), to the letter: Hairline cracks can develop within the transmission electronic gearbox (mechatronic unit), causing an internal transmission oil leak and a decrease in oil pressure. This can cause the clutch to fail to engage, resulting in a sudden loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.

The door locks will try to auto-lock once the vehicle has passed a set speed but fail, making an audible double-lock sound. The car will continue to try and auto-lock after each stop (stop sign, stop light, etc) and continue to fail. Happens intermittently.

The contact stated that the vehicle would intermittently fail to restart soon after failure. Due to the failure, the vehicle had been towed and driven to various independent mechanics and dealers and none had been unable to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUES IN DEC 2019 FOR REPLACEMENT OF A HOSE AND/OR MECHATRONIC UNIT. THERE IS NO REMEDY. MY CAR'S ELECTRIC MOTOR STOPPED WORKING. WHEN CLEARING THE ERROR CODES, MY CAR DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. WHEN CALLING VW, ADVISED THAT I CAN PUT IN A NEW TRANSMISSION AND IT WILL WORK. WHEN I ASKED WHY THAT ISN'T THE FIX TO THEIR RECALL, THEY SAID THEY DON'T KNOW YET. THEY ADVISED THAT IF I PUT IN MY OWN TRANSMISSION AND THEY DETERMINE A DIFFERENT PART IS NEEDED ANYWHERE IN THE PROCESS, THEY WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COMPENSATE ME FOR THE RECALL. THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING AT DIFFERENT SHOPS TRYING TO FIGURE OUT A FIX SINCE JULY AND HAS BEEN UNDRIVEABLE SINCE AUG 17.

My son was driving home when failure lights came on. I told him to take it to the nearest VW dealer, which he did: Tynan’s VW in Aurora, CO. The diagnostics’ indicated faults were Cracks in the Accumulator and transmission stuck in 6th gear, the exact same problem as indicated in the Safety Recall, issued in January of 2020 (NHTSA 19V866): Hairline cracks in the accumulator housing of the transmission, clutch may not engage – loss of power to wheels leading to vehicle crash. Repair not available. In June of 2021, when a repair was available, I took the car to Chapman Volkswagen Scottsdale, AZ to perform the repair and service. The mileage at first repair on [XXX], 2021 was 30828. THIS IS THE SECOND OCCURANCE OF THE SAME ISSUE. On May 1st after receiving the Tynans’ diagnostic report I started attempting to contact Chapman Volkswagen Scottsdale, AZ. Also at notification from Tynans’ VW of the second occurrence of this safety issue, I called VW Customer Care on early May - VW Customer Care contact on [XXX] - Case Number: [XXX]. Outcome: I was told by VW Customer Care to go back to Chapman Volkswagen Scottsdale and tell them they did not repair it properly. Volkswagen Scottsdale is taking no responsibility (Current Service Manager is Mike Chadwell) after several calls and I have not been able to get a copy of their repair warranty after repeated requests. Ignition switch stuck, and would not allow key to fully be inserted causing the cylinder to freeze and not turn on or if able to turn on not be able to turn off. I took it to the dealer to repair. They quoted me but refuse to provide a key with the new ignition system and are trying to price gouge me into buying a key that should have been provided with the new system.

The key will not go in the shut off position. My car has been lefting running for long periods. I keep messing with it and trying different pressures until it finally turns to the off position.

THE IGNITION SWITCH, WON'T TURN TO SHUT OFF/ COME ON. Having to sit in the car for long periods of time, in a HIGH CRIME AREA! Checked on line and others are having the same problem as I am. Hairline crack developed in the accumulator housing of the transmission (mechatronic unit), leaking and leading to insufficient transmission oil pressure. There is loss of power to the wheels. Was never notified and on last inspection they told me it was my fault. Recall code 34J6. The only thing the service department did was update the software, the issue was that before the update it was already damaged and they refused to replace the “MECHATRONICS UNIT” The car is not drive able, and is just sitting in my drive way.

Car one day decided to have issues. It wouldn't turn over. So we called a row truck to come take it and run diagnostics. The tow truck driver showed up and on his decision making as im not a professional like he is he said can it turn on I said no so he pursued with saying that he is going to Jumpstart the battery in his words he says that's mainly the issue is a dead battery so he wanted to jump it with his portable jumper box as we are hooking it up to the vehicle I am inside and he connects the cables and tells me to try and turn it over in doing so the intake manifold had completely blown up. Right in front of the tow truck driver and it sounded like a cannon went off. He told me after he could hear again as well as me. We both have never experienced anything like that before. The pictures I'm providing are the damages of what jump starting the vehicle did.

My vehicle was not included in several recalls (e.g. 36F6/4V and 34J6) that were made for identical cars (2013-2015 Jetta Hybrid). As result, the transmission is approaching its end of life (I was quoted $9600 + tax for the replacement). I called VW customer service and they could not offer a reason why some cars are not recalled; they just tried to spin it. The transmission is one big part that is manufactured in Germany and comes sealed. The 2013 recall 36F6 (change the transmission oil because is corrosive) would have saved the transmission.

Transmission is about to fail: at ODO 98800 the CEL indicates code P177B - Clutch Tolerance limit reached. The DSG transmission mechatronic unit was changed at ODO 46734 because the engine was loosing power. Volkswagen's has a recent recall 34J6 for this problem and vehicle type, but mine is not included in the recall.

The contact owns a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta. The contact stated while driving 25 mph, approaching a stop sign with the accelerator pedal depressed, the vehicle loss motive power and stalled. The vehicle was restarted but failed to move. The vehicle was towed to a local mechanic however, the mechanic was unable to work on the model of the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.

I discovered that my 2013 Volkswagen Jetta has a completely nonfunctional airbag system. On 8/23/23- airbag warning light illuminated and has remained on. In 08/2025- Midas staff informed me the light may indicate an airbag defect and referred me to Volkswagen. On 09/24/2025- Volkswagen dealer inspection documented both front crash sensors were unplugged/damaged, leaving the airbag system inoperable. Safety concern: I unknowingly drove this car for over two years with no functional airbags. This created a severe risk of injury or death in the event of a motor vehicle accident. This car was sold by Carvana as having passed a 150-point inspection and under warranty coverage. However, Carvana later stated that they have a disclaimer that shifts the responsibility of the car being safe to drive onto the consumer, and that they never claimed the car had a functioning air bag system.

Airbag malfunction indicator lamp has illuminated, horn is not funtional. Returned to Volkswagen dealership for diagnosis, prognosis being faulty "clock spring." Was previously indicated as repaired under recall exhibiting same symptoms some years previously but, problem has resurfaced and is persisting.

My car has 80,000 miles on it. The high pressure fuel pump sent metal shavings all through the entire system. Dealer quoted $9,000 to fix. This should have never happened. They said that the extended warranty from the diesel gate situation has expired and there’s nothing they can do. With the car only having 80,000 miles on it they should honor the warranty.

Cp4 pump failed on car with 85,000 miles on it sending metal pieces throughout the fuel system causing damage and a $9,000 bill to fix a car worth $9,000 so it is essentially totaled.

2013 Jetta hybrid 80,00 miles on it driving on a highway suddenly rpm go lowered in the middle of highway loss power trying to maneuver to the side of the highway has to towed home now can't do reverse and lots of leaking fluid on the car take to the mechanic shop found out the transmission no working the mechanic shop said the probably my cars is in those car on recalled because they worked on those problems before

High pressure fuel pump failed on a 2013 TDI diesel. Every other manufacturer was forced to recall / replace the Bosch CP4 hpfp , why was volkswagen's not recalled? The failure of this component stops the car on the interstate. VW offered a 10 year extended warranty while all other manufacturers recalled and replaced the pump. The failure mode is a slow degradation of the internal components becuase it is not designed properly for ultra low sulfur diesel in the united states. It's not acceptable to just extend the warranty on a component that is a ticking time bomb. The failure can be at 2,000 miles, or it can be at 200,000 miles, but it will fail due to the missed engineering specification on diesel fuel. These are very common failures continuing to happen with VW diesel cars and continuin to put people at risk for a known problem that was not properly addressed.

Ignition key difficult to pull out from starter. Sometimes difficult to start car, but it can be wiggled in or out with some effort. Dangerous if it can get removed and engine continues working. Key can be reinserted to turn off. Sometimes difficult to start. Taken to local (Tucson AZ) dealership and told that there is no VW recall for this issue. I believe there is a recall. Dealership refused to fix it. Not covered as part of warranty either. We had to pay to get it fixed. Dealership appeared not to know of existence of a recall for the ignition key problem. We request a refund. Please inform them that such a recall exists. IGNITION CYLINDER. KEY GETS STUCK IN THE IGNITION AND IS VERY DIFFICULT TO REMOVE AFTER SHUTTING THE CAR OFF. HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. SOMETIMES WHEN TURNING IT ON, ITS ALSO DIFFICULT TO TURN THE KEY. RECEIVED A LETTER IN THE MAIL TALKING ABOUT A REIMBURSEMENT IF REPLACED OUT OF POCKET, HOWEVER VERY SURPRISED THAT THIS HAS NOT BEEN OFFICIALLY RECALLED YET.

GEARS NOT SHIFTING CORRECTLY, LOSES POWER TO WHERE I HAVE TO PULL OVER BECAUSE I CAN'T ACCELERATE. THESE ARE THE CODES IT IS PUTTING OUT: P073A STUCK IN GEAR 5, P1731 GEARS POSITION DISTANCE SENSOR 3:ELECTRONIC ERROR, P1731C GEAR POSITION DISTANCE SENSOR 3:IMPLAUSIBLE SIGNAL AND P072B STUCK IN REVERSE. IT HAS BEEN DOING THIS SINCE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED IN JAN OF 2020. THERE HAVE BEEN RECALLS ON 2013-2014 JETTA HYBRIDS FOR THESE SAME PROBLEMS BUT MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALLS

MY 2013 VW JETTA HYBRID HAS 68000 MILES ON IT AND IT KEEPS STALLING WHILE DRIVING. MULTIPLE TIMES IT STOPPED ON FREEWAY. THERE IS A RECALL FROM VW AND REASON FOR RECALL IS MECHATRONICS UNIT FAILURE. THE FAILURE OF MECHATRONICS UNIT CAUSES LOW TRANSMISSION OIL AND CLUTCH SLIPPAGE BOTH OF WHICH CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE TRANSMISSION. VW SERVICE SAYS THERE IS SOME INTERNAL OIL LEAK AND PROBLEM IS NOT OF MECHATRONIC UNIT AND I HAVE TO PAY FOR REPLACING TRANSMISSION.IAM NOT PROVIDED WITH ANY SPECIFIC DETAILS ON THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THEY SAY, "IT'S AN INTERNAL FAILURE", "ITS UNRELATED TO THE MECHATRONICS", AND "THERE ARE CRACKS ON TRANSMISSION". THEY HAVE ALSO SAID THAT THEY WILL NOT REPAIR THE MECHATRONICS UNIT WITHOUT ME REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION BECAUSE THE MECHATRONICS UNIT WOULD HAVE BEEN DAMAGED BECAUSE OF DAMAGED TRANSMISSION. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH UPHILL, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO JERK AND DID NOT RESPOND WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO MAKE IT UP THE HILL AND THE CONTACT HAD TO SHIFT INTO REVERSE AND REVERSE BACK DOWN THE HILL. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. UPON PARKING AND EXITING THE VEHICLE, A REDDISH FLUID WAS SEEN LEAKING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT ONTO THE GROUND. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000.

WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY EPC AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS UP AND THE CAR SUDDENLY LOOSE POWER AND START JERKING STEP ON GAS TO SPEED UP ONLY ENGINE REVVED UP HIGH BUT THERES NO ACCELERATION OR SPEED GAIN I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD SAFELY BUT WHAT IF ITS RUSH HOUR AND THERES A CAR FOLLOWING BEHIND ME IT SURE GOING TO SLAM INTO MY CAR. I HEARD A LOT OF COMPLAINT SIMILAR TO WHAT I EXPERIENCED. IN MY OPINION ITS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT THAT SHOULD BE LOOK ON AND NEEDS A THOROUGH INVESTIGATION IN ORDER TO AVOID ACCIDENT AND ROAD MISHAPS.

WE PURCHASED OUR 2013 JETTA IN NOVEMBER 2016 FROM CASEY CHEVROLET, A "CERTIFIED USED VEHICLE" DEALERSHIP IN OUR AREA. A COUPLE MONTHS AFTER THE PURCHASE, WE WERE HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE CAR STALLING AS WELL AS TRANSMISSION TROUBLES. THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED ON MY PREGNANT WIFE AND 2 YEAR OLD AT LEAST FOUR TIMES. ONCE SHE WAS AT A STOP LIGHT AND IT COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN, THE NEXT SHE WAS IN A FAST FOOD DRIVE-THROUGH LINE, THE THIRD TIME SHE WAS TRYING TO MANEUVER A TURN, AND THE FINAL TIME SHE WAS BACKING OUT OF THE BABYSITTERS DRIVE WAY. WITH RESPECT TO THE TRANSMISSION, THERE HAVE BEEN MANY INSTANCES WHERE EITHER SHE OR I WOULD BE ATTEMPTING TO MERGE OR JUST NEED TO PICK UP SPEED AND IN BETWEEN SHIFTS THE CAR WOULD HESITATE AND THEN SHIFT VERY AGGRESSIVELY. WE HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES AND EACH TIME WE TAKE IT IN THEY CAN'T FIND A PROBLEM SO THEY GIVE US THE CAR BACK. ON THE OTHER HAND, THEY HAVE "SOLVED" THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM TWICE ONLY FOR IT TO REAPPEAR AT A LATER TIME. THEY HAVE REFUSED TO REPLACE THE VEHICLE OR REFUND US THE PURCHASE PRICE. WE HAVE ALSO CONTACTED VOLKSWAGEN WHO LIKEWISE REFUSES TO REFUND OR REPLACE THEIR PRODUCT. RIGHT NOW THE CAR IS PARKED IN OUR DRIVEWAY BECAUSE WE DO NOT FEEL IT IS SAFE TO DRIVE. MY WIFE IS NOW DRIVING MY TRUCK AND I AM IN MY OLDER CAR FROM COLLEGE. ALL THE WHILE, PAYMENTS STILL HAVE TO BE MADE WHICH IS VERY FRUSTRATING. I FEEL THAT TWO COMPANIES I THOUGHT WERE TRUSTWORTHY HAVE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF MY FAMILY AND I.

The mechanics at Volkswagen found a hairline crack in my mechatronics unit for my Volkswagen Jetta hybrid 2013. They would not fix it even though it was the software that caused it. “Summary: Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain 2013-2015 Jetta Hybrid vehicles equipped with a DQ200 7-Speed DSG Automatic Transmission. Hairline cracks can develop within the transmission electronic gearbox (mechatronic unit), causing an internal transmission oil leak and a decrease in oil pressure. Consequence: A decrease in transmission oil pressure can cause the clutch to fail to engage, resulting in a sudden loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. Remedy: Volkswagen will notify owners, and dealers will update the transmission software, free of charge. The software remedy is currently under development. The recall is expected to begin February 4, 2020. Owners may contact Volkswagen customer service at 1-800-893-5298. Volkswagen's number for this recall is 34J6. The problem is my unit already had the hairline crack before they updated the software. They were saying it was my fault and I have to pay out of pocket.

THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER AND INFORMED THEM OF THE FAILURE AND WAS INFORMED TO SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 83,194.

VW STATES IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM FOR THE CCTA ENGINE CODE FOR 2011-2012 VW 2.0T TSI ENGINES. HOWEVER SINCE IT WASN'T EXTENDED TO MY VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE THE SAME THEY WILL NOT HONOR THE EXTENDED WARRANTY BECAUSE NHTSA DIDN'T IDENTIFY MY VEHICLE YEAR YET.

I was driving on a rainy day on the freeway where my breaks went out on me. I pressed down all of the way and the car wouldn’t stop. After I let go of the break I then pressed on the break again and they seemed to have locked on me. I ended up using my emergency breaks and was able to get off the freeway and luckily no one was hurt. Soon after they started working again and I was able to get it safely to a near by shop.

The car automatically locked its brakes without me even touching the brakes while I was going 60mph and almost lost control. My safety was put at risk because the car locked its brakes without me pushing the breaks, they would not disengage and was stuck in the middle of the road with the brakes not releasing and almost caused an accident. I has happened multiple times but not confirmed by dealer or independent mechanic.The vehicle has been inspected by VW dealer. No warning lights came on the dash.

On more than one occasion the front left brake seized up. The last time was when I was on a toll road and felt warbling in the tires so I got off on an exit and when I reached the red light the left front brake seized up and the car wouldn't budge. Once the car rested and the brake cooled off I was able to drive it to a safe place and had it towed to the VW dealership who because they couldn't get it to duplicate the issue couldn't tell me what was wrong. It does not happen consistently and I fear to think that if I was doing 55 MPH the car would have caused a horrible accident. In the past when it happened the car would not accelerate over 40 MPH and I could feel the brakes were applying pressure.

The brake system has malfunctioned, and I would be happy for you to inspect it. The brakes come on suddenly when the foot brake is not being applied. The car will not move when this happens, creating a very dangerous situation on the road. I have been stranded in a lane with cars zooming around me. Everyone is at risk. A tech on the VW helpline confirmed the problem with my mechanic and suggested two very expensive fixes which have not resolved the problem. There have been no warning indicators for this problem. It happens randomly and unexpectedly.

There is an open recall on 2013 Volkswagen Jetta hybrid for known electrical and power train issues. My car was purchased last year and kept up on in maintenance . I have had it in the shop multiple times for checks due to the lights on my dashboard all going off. Nothing was found until recently the hybrid and engine light turned on out of no where and the cause was the clutch failing which is one of the known recalls. My VIN Isn’t listed under this recall and I have been in contact with Volkswagen and they are refusing to help even thought it’s a known issue with this years make and model. The car is unsafe to drive and could likely result in an accident due to the behavior of the car from these issues. The car will randomly buck when driving and when coming to a complete stop and trying to accelerate it will buck as well. I did add the open recalls on this car that are alike to my issues. There are also 4 other open recalls on this years make and model. I don’t have an exact date when the issues start I could look through my paper work but I put down 11/11 as they have been happening for awhile now

My vehicle has the Mechatronic failure that the recall is open for some 13’ Jetta hybrids but I don’t have an open recall for it. The car would start shutting on and off constantly at stop lights instead of staying off running soley on battery power. The error codes are pointing to a failure to maintain fluid pressure inside the mechatronics unit. The mechatronics unit is included in a VW recall from June 2021. There was a design flaw in the housing that caused transmission fluid to lead out under pressure. My vehicle should be included in the recall but since I don’t have an open recall for this to my vehicle I can’t get it fixed and repairs are to expensive for something VW should own up for this mistake but they won’t repair it.

E-Engine and Transmission Problem. In August of 2021, while performing normal driving, the car refused to get in gear and the engine just revved; the Check Engine and Hybrid Systems Failure lights came on, and the car would not work properly. I had it towed to a VW Dealership in Springfield, VA for repairs and was quoted $15,000 for a new E-Engine and Transmission. No Recalls, but online forums show that this is a classic failure of Jetta Hybrids and is due to the corrosive transmission oil used in the sealed transmissions of the Hybrids. Car has remained on VW Dealership lot while a decision is made on the vehicle. November of 2021 I was contacted about a different recall (38C4) for the Jetta; it is a software issue with a European Calibration instead of a US. I am looking to have that repaired to see if it fixes the problem in the car. I am inquiring about the Volkswagen recall 34J6 (or 34J6/4V) for 2013/2014 VW Jetta Hybrids. My VIN does not appear on the list. According to forums, it has experienced the same failure as others that are. This one is for hairline cracks that may form in the Transmission causing it to fail. No warning signs were given before the failure. It was a well maintained car; I was the only owner and drove it for 121,000 miles.

FOR THE LAST 30,000 MILES MY VEHICLE HAS SPORADICALLY STALLED OUT OR SHUDDERED HEAVILY AS IF IT WAS ABOUT TO STALL WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS OR ACCELERATING. Since I have possessed the car, the horn has been slowly going out. Until now it no longer works at all. I've checked fuses and not the problem. So this is a safety concern for me because of the alarm! If my alarm goes off, just the lights flash but NO sound??! The alarm should at least be heard, right? Otherwise I hope I can see the lights flashing if my alarm goes off!!! Because I can't hear anything. My horn does not work even if I push the steering wheel? If I have to use my horn to alert anyone then I can't!

The key will either get stuck in the ignition while the car is on, or it will occasionally not turn at all. Both of which have left me or others borrowing my car stranded. Has taken up to 2 hours of jiggling the key and finally turning to the on or off position. Some shops are saying the ignition cylinder, others the switch, and others the steering lock but this seems to be a very common complaint online from Volkswagens in this age range. It could seriously harm someone if they were unable to start their car in an emergency situation due to the key not turning.

The key gets stuck in the ignition switch and the car is not able to turn off. In order to remove the key you have to jiggle it several times which could be minutes or up to an hour. Could be a safety issue if I’m somewhere and need to turn the car off immediately. Was told this is a costly repair but if this is a known issue (and it is) why is this not a recall when possible damage or injury could occur.

I am Filing a complaint against Volkswagen group of America, I called they for assistants in fixing an issue with one of their dealers to replace an ignition switch. Volkswagen said they stand by their dealer and would not let me speak to the Zone Reps for that area or the Dealer Reps that assist the customer in coming to a solution. The Ignition switch is a safety item and the dealer is trying to charge me a high price for a new key because they own a monopoly in the area.

This vehicle and other vehicles of the same model have a faulty ignition cylinder lock housing causing the key to be unable to turn the car to off and be removed from the ignition. This does not allow the driver to park and leave the car as the key remains stuck and unable to turn. This problem has been reported by a dealer as an issue that is fixed weekly on other vehicles of the same make and model in shop.The vehicle has been inspected by the Volkswagen dealership and determined to be a failure within the vehicle. The key in the ignition has occasionally become stuck but, now remains in the vehicle for consistently after each drive for up to 30 minutes of trying to remove it.

UNCONTROLLED ACCELERATION As I was accelerating to enter traffic on the expressway the engine lost partial power. I reduced accelerator pressure, and then the engine seemed to recover. I then reapplied pressure to the accelerator, and it seemed normal but when I put in the clutch to shift, the engine accelerated beyond redline. I completed the shift, and car began to accelerate rapidly. I tapped the accelerator, and the acceleration stopped, and then after about 3 seconds it began to accelerate again. I attempted to reduce acceleration with brakes, but it was only partially effective. The only way to effectively reduce acceleration was to take the car out of gear. (thankfully this was a manual transmission) When I shifted into neutral, engine RPMs would exceed redline. The excessive RPMs ultimately destroyed the engine (Big bang, lots of smoke). In hindsight I would have turned the ignition off but did not think to at the time.. The safety implications are obvious. This event occurred without warning and under normal driving conditions. I suspect an engine sensor anomaly combined with computer software failure. (Maybe an RPM sensor?) Specific cause is unknown, and situation cannot be recreated since the engine has failed. The Diesel Particulate Filter warning light was on, and had been on for several weeks. It did not clear using the recommended remediation in the manual. The vehicle has not been inspected by the dealer or other interested parties, but is available for inspection. (This is one of the vehicles recalled for “diesel-gate” purchased from VW after reprogramming)

WE HAD A TIRE FAILURE IN THE SIDEWALL ON A PROPERLY CARED FOR AND NON-ABUSED TIRE. WE NOW HAVE TWO ADDITIONAL TIRES FAILING ON OUR VEHICLE (TOTAL 3/4) WITH THE SAME DEFECT AND WE HAVE NOT DRIVEN OVER ANY POTHOLES OR OTHER ROAD DEFECTS THAT WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CAUSING THIS FAILURE. THE AUTO MANUFACTURER AND TIRE MANUFACTURER DISCLAIM ALL RESPONSIBILITY ON TIRES THAT ARE 14 MONTHS OLD AND HAVE UNDER 16,000 MILES ON THEM. The contact owns a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the compliance recall Campaign Number: 3M02 was completed. The contact stated that while attempting to remove the key from the ignition switch while the vehicle was in drive(D), the key came out smoothly. Additionally, the contact stated upon starting the vehicle and entering the key in the ignition switch, the Electronic Power Control (EPC) and the check engine warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the recall failed to fix the failure. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that a fee would be charged for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.

-The Jetta Hybrid relies on a control unit, called the "Mechatronic unit" to decouple the gasoline engine from the transmission. This, in turn, transfers propulsion to the electric motor, inside the transmission housing. The "Mechatronic" is a highly specialized component, the "brains" of the Jetta's hybrid powertrain, and, therefore, can only be found in the Jetta Hybrid. -Market sales data says that a scant 8,515 Jetta Hybrids were manufactured across model years 2013 - 2016. -An open NHTSA safety recall, 34J6, has been applied to a cross section of the total 8,515 Jetta Hybrids produced. -Per recall 34J6, exactly 2,149 Jetta Hybrids have been included by VIN# in this recall. -Safety recall 34J6 specifically addresses the "Mechatronic Accumulator Housing". -Recall description: Hairline cracks may develop in the accumulator housing of the transmission (mechatronic unit), leaking and leading to insufficient transmission oil pressure. If this happens, the transmission warning light will illuminate in the instrument panel. If the warning light is ignored and the vehicle is driven, the clutch may not engage. There could be a sudden loss of power to the wheels, potentially leading to a vehicle crash.  -This describes EXACTLY the problem we have had TWICE with our 2013 Jetta Hybrid. -Mechatronic unit failed and had to be replaced on our dime at 70,683 miles; 30 June 2016 -Mechatronic unit has failed us again on 16 March 2022 at 142,758 mi. -Exact diagnosis from the VW dealer reads: [error code] P0841 Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor / Switch. MECHATRONIC UNIT HAS FAILED INTERNALL. CAN NOT GET SEPARATE FROM TRANSMISSION. NEED TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION $7,163. -Our vehicle's VIN# was NOT included as part of 34J6, despite the part that is subject of recall 34J6 having failed us twice. -$7,136 repair estimate is more than the resale value of the vehicle. -We request that NHTSA extend safety recall 34J6 to include our VIN# to compel VW to fix the vehicle. Since Volkswagen no longer stocks the "Mechatronic Unit" (attached diagnosis indicates this has failed on our vehicle), our vehicle is currently undrivable.

SO WHEN THE CALL CAME FROM THEM WAS TOLD FEW THINGS WRONG THE ELECTRIC MOTOR WAS DEAD BUT HE SAID THE GOOD NEWS IT IS COVERED BY THE HYBRID WARRANTY THEN I SAID OK WHATS THE BAD NEWS WAS TOLD TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, I SAID TO THE GENTLEMAN THAT VW NEW ABOUT THIS AND THEY JUST WAIT AND PRAY THE WARRANTY RUNS OUT. I REFUSE TO PAY $7700 TO FIX IT PURCHASED CAR IN 2015 WITH ALMOST 14000 MILES IN ALL THAT TIME SHE WHEN THIS HAPPENED SHE HAD A TOTAL OF 59000 MILES. VW NEW THEY HAD PROBLEM DID RECALL FOR A FEW BUT FROM WHAT I READ THAT DOES NOT FIX THE CORROSION THAT HAS ALREADY HAPPENED SHAME ON THEM AND THE DEALERS THAT SOLD THEM. TAKATA RECALL, THE DOORS OPENING MECHANISM IN COLD WEATHER WON'T ALLOW YOU TO CLOSE YOUR DOOR. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. UPON RESEARCHING THIS PROBLEM I FOUND THAT THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING TO VOLKSWAGEN SINCE AT LEAST THE 2000S MODELS. I HAD JUST WENT OUT OF MY HOUSE AND GOTTEN INTO MY CAR WHEN I NOTICE THAT THE DOOR WOULDN'T OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE BUT WOULD FROM THE INSIDE. I THEN WENT TO CLOSE MY DOOR AND IT WOULDN'T CLOSE. INOPERATIVE DRIVERS DOOR LOCK WHEN LOCKING WITH THE KEY FOB REMOTE. DRIVER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT LOCK WITH THE KEY FOB, NOR WILL IT WITH THE BUTTON INSIDE THE CAR. IT WILL ONLY LOCK WITH THE KEY SOMETIMES. BUT EVEN THEN, PROBABLY 50% OF THE TIME IT DOESN'T LOCK WITH THAT. CAR WILL NOT LOCK WHILE YOU ARE SITTING INSIDE, OR DRIVING. NOT VERY SAFE WHEN YOU ARE GOING THROUGH DANGEROUS CITIES'.. ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE UNAWARE WHEN THIS DEFECT IS NOT GOING TO ALLOW YOU TO LOCK YOUR DOOR, IF NEEDED. The clock spring in the steering wheel has failed, causing the air bag and horn (along with the steering wheel-controlled electrical systems) to stop working. This has been confirmed by a local Volkswagen dealership service department. The part is under extended warranty due to a prior recall, but in reality this recall apparently isn’t worth much, as the part has been backordered for several months and won’t be obtainable for up to another 6 months, or more; no actual date has been committed to. The Volkswagen service department also stated they cannot/will not temporarily fix or ameliorate the current failure of basic safety features.

ON WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 23RD AT OR AROUND 3:40 PM, I PULLED INTO AN ARCO FUEL STATION TO TOP OFF MY VEHICLE. I STILL HAD A 1/4 OF A TANK LEFT BUT DECIDED TO FUEL UP ANYWAY. APPROXIMATELY 3/4 OF A MILE AWAY FROM THE FUEL STATION, MY ENGINE STALLED OUT AND THEN THE GLOW PLUG ICON ON MY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER BEGAN TO FLASH. I HAD MY VEHICLE TOWED TO THE NEAREST VW DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THE FOLLOWING DAY THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN CONTACTED ME AND INFORMED ME THAT MY HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP(HPFP) HAD FAILED AND THAT IT HAD CONTAMINATED MY ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM WITH METAL SHAVINGS. I BELIEVE METAL IN THE FUEL LINES IS CAUSE FOR A COMPLETE ENGINE REPLACEMENT AS THEY CANNOT PROVE THE CONTAMINATION WAS LIMITED TO THE FUEL LINES. I WAS TRYING TO MERGE ONTO HIGHWAY TRAFFIC AND WHEN I PUSHED ON THE ACCELERATOR THE CAR WAS UNRESPONSIVE. The contact owns a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact noticed that the check engine and battery warning lights were illuminated. The contact went to an auto parts store and replaced the battery however, the warning light illuminated again. Occasionally, the vehicle would fail to start immediately. The contact also stated that occasionally while driving, the vehicle shuddered and stalled. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and the vehicle operated as designed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the timing belt failed due to damage to the water pump. The contact was informed that the water pump and timing belt needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 14E007000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost of the repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.

I HAVE A 2013 JETTA SPORTWAGEN, AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. I HAD BEEN DRIVING MY CAR FOR ABOUT 6 MILES ON A LOCAL, BUT BUSY ROAD. I STOPPED AT A RED TRAFFIC LIGHT. THE WIPER BLADES MOTOR STOPS WORKING IN LOW TEMPERATURES. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ICY BLADES OR FROZEN SNOW, IT SIMPLY DOES NOT WORK WHEN TEMPERATURES ARE VERY LOW. ONCE TEMPERATURES GO UP, THEY START WORKING AGAIN. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND I CAN'T DRIVE WITHOUT WIPER BLADES WHEN IT SNOWS OR RAINS IN LOW TEMPERATURE. 2013 Jetta TDI with 92k miles. I am the third owner of this car which has been regularly maintained since new with all service records, including a 2019 emissions modification per VW recall. I bought this vehicle less than a year ago. My son was driving to work when the car shut off without warning. He was able to restart it and park safely and had it towed home. After replacing the battery and a fuse, the car continued to show a code for the ECM Power Relay Load Circuit . We took it to the mechanic to have it inspected, and learned that the high pressure fuel pump had imploded and metal shavings were found throughout the entire fuel system. This is evidently a common and very costly issue that VW has an obligation to fix. They knowingly continue to use a defective part that is essentially a ticking time bomb without regard to the owners safety and the financial ramifications of the repair. All VW vehicles with this defect should be covered by VW, not just selected model years and models. This causes catastrophic damage and VW is completely negligent by not doing what is right by the customer. The VW dealer quoted a $9,000. repair and VW North America declined any assistance with the vehicle. The car is not worth that, and it would be absurd to pay out of pocket for the repair; especially since VW continues to use a defective designed HPFP that can eventually fail again. VW was selective in the model years that they recalled, but only after the parts failed. They should have applied the recall and repairs to ALL vehicles proactively. I now have a 2013 paperweight in my driveway. The reason I purchased this specific car was for the longevity that diesels are known for. What a shame that VW does not rectify the situation in lieu of the previous diesel scandal. I'll be going back to Volvo or Subaru, two companies that I have had great experiences with, both in safety and reliability. VW should do the right thing, but I guess that's of no importance anymore.

I purchased vehicle 12/06/2022 and day after purchase check engine light went off. Took it back to dealer ASH Auto and they stated they fixed it. 2 Months later check engine light again. Got a diagnostic test and codes were TBI Base Gasket, P01106 Manifold and 01314-013 Engine control module. Now one week ago dropping off daughter to work down the street and when pulled into garage my vehicle will not go I to park. Only neutral, reverse and drive work. Have to keep car in neutral with emergency brake to keep parked.

While driving on freeway going 80mph in carpool with my toddler in backseat the car turned off losing all power to car. engine stopped, steering did not work, brakes did not work, and all lights on dash turned off along with headlights and break lights. i pulled into emergency lane and pulled key out. the car restarted back up but no lights were on dash to indicate anything was wrong with it. took the car into local mechanic they could not duplicate issue, and didnt find any codes. car was returned not fixed. it has happened 6 more times 5 times while driving and one time while sitting in a starbucks drive through each time taking key out and able to restart car. took car into vw dealership, and told them the issue with no light saying anything. checked for codes. no codes where found mechanic still now trying to duplicate issue. this is very dangerous issue that needs attention to if it wasn't for just a few cars on the freeway my son and myself would have been gone from a malfunction from the vehicle. I hope no one else encounters this issue.

Driving on the interstate, my spouse stated that the car just lost power. Fortunately, he was able to pull off. But once he tried to start the car, it wouldn't do anything. The car was towed to my home. We took the car to the local VW dealer to have the recall completed. Since the car had to be towed there, we were told that we would have to pay $500 for a diagnostic before anything can be completed. I took the car to a local repairman and he stated that the fuel pump was bad. We replaced it and the battery. The car now will not start at all. We are getting an error of "hybrid system failure", "air bag failure", epc light is on and transmission warning. The car tries to start but will not.

VW issued a recall (20E064000) for the transmission failing to engage though VW is claiming vehicles within the year range specified and with the exact same problem are not included in the recall. A quick search on complaints on Safercar.gov will show VW is not actually fixing this issue but pushing customers along saying they are not covered. This is a huge safety issue that VW is skirting around. I was told my car - within the years affects and with the same problem - is not included in this recall.

RECEIVED A HYBRID SYSTEM ERROR ON 01/02/2018 WHILE DRIVING TO WORK JUST WITHIN MY NEIGHBORHOOD, THEN IT DISAPPEARED AND I NOTICED THE GAS MILEAGE WAS GETTING WAY OUT OF CONTROL (USUALLY GET 50/GAL, THEN GOT LESS THAN 30/GAL). I KNEW SOMETHING WAS OFF ESPECIALLY SINCE I HAVE BEEN ASKING THE DEALER TO CHECK THE TRANSMISSION AT 53K (HAD A PREVIOUS JETTA WITH TRANSMISSION ISSUES). AFTER KEEPING MY CAR FOR A MONTH, THE DEALER PUT IN A CLUTCH ONLY TO CALL BACK TO SAY THEY NOW NEEDED A FULL TRANSMISSION AND IT WOULD HAVE TO BE INSPECTED AND TESTED BY THE WARRANT COMPANY. CALLED THE DEALER AND SAID THAT I AM BRINGING IT BACK AT THE END OF THE WEEK. AFTER HAVE BOTH A REGULAR 2009 AND A 2013 JETTA HYBRID WITH THE SAME ISSUE, I NO LONGER WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH VW VEHICLES.

I had just gotten in my car with my wife to go to the grocery store. There was a small mosquito flying around the windshield on the driver's side. I extended my right arm, flicked my wrist, smashing the mosquito with the backs of my fingers. In squashing the mosquito with VERY little force I cracked my windshield significantly. The windshield in question was installed by Safelite in Martinez GA in 2019 after the previous windshield was cracked by a rock thrown from the road. My concern is Safelite is installing sub-par windshields and if this windshield had been hit by a rock thrown by a vehicle it would've killed me. I have tried to bring this issue to Safelite's attention but they dismissed what I told them and said anyone could say that to have their windshield fixed for free. In my opinion this is obviously a case of defective materials and should be covered by their lifetime warranty.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE EXTENDED WARRANTIES WERE EXPIRED AND THE VEHICLE NEEDED TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. DRIVING HOME ON I-4 THE EVENING OF SEP 10, 2014 AND HEARD A LOUD POP/GUNSHOT SOUND FROM THE SUNROOF, THEN STARTED HEARING GLASS DEBRIS BLOWING OFF THE CAR. IT WAS QUITE A SHOCK TO BOTH MYSELF AND GIRLFRIEND IN THE MOMENT. LUCKILY, I HAD THE SUNROOF INTERIOR COVER CLOSED SO IT DID NOT FALL INTO THE CAR WHILE WE WERE DRIVING. I DID NOT STOP AS I WASN'T SURE IF IT WAS SAFE, BUT AFTER ARRIVING HOME ABOUT 8-10 MINS LATER I INSPECTED THE CAR NOTICING THAT THE GLASS WAS NOT SHATTERED IN, BUT PUSHED OUTWARD LIKE THE IMPACT CAME FROM THE INSIDE. IGNITION IS HARD TO TURN. THE KEY WIIL NOT TURN OFF THE ENGINE. THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE IGNITION TO TURN OFF IS TO PHYSICALLY/AGGRESSIVLEY SNAP, FLICK, OR JIGGLE IT TO TURN OFF THE ENGINE. THE ENGINE IS IN PARK WHEN THE INCIDENTS OCCUR. DURING A GOOGLE SEARCH, THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS OF THIS OCCURING. I BOUGHT A NEW 2013 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA 2.5L SE. WE PURCHASED THIS CAR AS A THIRD VEHICLE FOR MY TWO TEENAGE CHILDREN TO USE. MY SON WAS HOME FROM COLLEGE AND USED IT TO COMMUTE TO A DAILY INTERNSHIP DURING THE SUMMER OF 2016 WHEN HE NOTICED THAT ON TWO OCCASIONS IT LOST POWER ON THE HIGHWAY WHILE HE WAS TRAVELING 60 MILES PER HOUR. THAT FALL I TOOK MY DAUGHTER TO DO HER DRIVERS TEST IN THE JETTA. IT LOST POWER TWICE EN-ROUTE TO THE FACILITY AND LOST POWER AN ADDITIONAL THREE TIMES WHILE I DROVE IT HOME. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER A FEW DAYS LATER AND IT LOST POWER SEVERAL TIMES ON THE WAY. I COMPLAINED TO DICK DEAN (THE DEALER WE BOUGHT IT FROM) AND TO VOLKSWAGEN ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. I TOLD THEM THAT THIS SITUATION THREATENED THE SAFETY OF MY TWO CHILDREN. THE DEALER CLAIMS THAT THEY COULDN'T GET THE CAR TO MIMIC THE COMPLAINT. DICK DEAN AND VOLKSWAGEN OFFERED ME A FEW THOUSANDS DOLLARS OFF ON A NEW JETTA. I TOOK THE OFFER BECAUSE OF THE SAFETY FACTOR OF MY CHILDREN. I THINK IT IS THE HEIGHT OF IRRESPONSIBILITY OF BOTH ORGANIZATIONS FOR NOT STANDING BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT GIVEN THE SERIOUS NATURE OF THIS COMPLAINT. WHEN I RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE I FOUND NUMEROUS OTHER CUSTOMERS WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT ABOUT THE 3013 JETTA. I AM SHOCKED THAT THIS COMPANY IS ALLOWED TO GET AWAY WITH THIS KIND OF BEHAVIOR, FORCING A CUSTOMER TO PAY FOR A NEW CAR WHEN THERE IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE INVOLVED. I am submitting this complaint regarding Safety Recall 34J6, which is listed as INCOMPLETE for my 2013 Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid. I brought my vehicle to Volkswagen of Murfreesboro, Tennessee to have this recall performed. The dealership refused to complete the repair, claiming it was “too old” — a statement that is factually and legally incorrect. Federal law and NHTSA regulations require manufacturers and their dealerships to repair open safety recalls at no cost, with no expiration. The dealership’s refusal is a direct violation of these requirements and represents a serious safety risk to me and potentially to other drivers. I have already contacted Volkswagen Customer CARE, but the dealership has refused to perform the recall despite clear evidence that it remains open. Their inaction demonstrates noncompliance with federal safety regulations and unlawful denial of a mandated repair. I request that NHTSA investigate Volkswagen of Murfreesboro for refusal to perform a federally required recall, ensure that my vehicle receives the required repair immediately, and take appropriate enforcement action to prevent further violations. This behavior is unacceptable and poses a significant public safety risk.

A FEW MONTHS BACK AN ERROR CAME UP ON MY DASH SAYING "HYBRID WORKSHOP." I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT WAS REGULAR FOR MY CAR TO SAY THAT AT ABOUT 68K AND THAT I WOULD SOON NEED A HYBRID SYSTEMS CHECK. THAT LIGHT WENT OFF THE VERY NEXT DAY SO I DIDN'T STRESS IT. SOON AFTER MY CAR BEGAN ACTING FUNNY WHEN COMING TO COMPLETE STOPS, THE VEHICLE WOULD JOLT BACK INTO MOTION CAUSING A HARD BREAKING MOTION TO OCCUR. SOON AFTER MY TRANSMISSION FAILED AS I WAS PARKING. I WAS IN REVERSE AND THE CAR SUDDENLY STOPPED REVERSING AND BEGAN TO REV LOUDLY BEFORE JUMPING BACK INTO REVERSE AND THEN BACK TO REVVING. AFTER TRANSMISSION FAILURE, I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER AND THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT MAY BE MY MECHATRONICS UNIT, AFTER TAKING THE MECHATRONICS UNIT OUT THEY DETERMINED IT WAS INDEED THE TRANSMISSION. I'VE READ OF A RECALL FOR THIS VERY SAME PROBLEM HUNDREDS OF TIMES ONLINE AFTER SEARCHING IT, YET MY VIN ISN'T CONNECTED TO ANY RECALLS ON VWS WEBSITE.

The car has turned off at idle and at low speeds, almost causing accidents and to be rear ended in busy streets and during stop and go traffic on the highway. After numerous mechanic diagnostics at both Volkswagen Dealership service departments and third party mechanic shops, no one seems to be able to give me an answer or condition to what is causing the problem. With no error codes being brought up nor any other underlying issues that could be causing this issue, with a car having minor wear. This is a problem that has been reported by many other Volkswagen Jetta owners on online forums and no one seems to have a specific answer as to what is causing this accident prone issue!

The clock spring in this vehicle has failed in a vehicle that currently has less than 36k miles. There were no warnings or lights prior to failure. The controls on steering wheel and the vehicle’s horn no longer work as a result. When inspected by the local dealership, they also informed us that the airbag may not deploy in the event of an accident. The dealership also told us that the replacement part is backordered and that they could not provide a date that the part would be available. The vehicle feels unsafe to drive since we do not know if the airbag works or not. VW seems to be in no hurry to provide a fix.

I was driving on the street and my check engine light popped on as I was making a turn at about 35 miles an hour my car kicked into neutral and when pressing the gas just revved the engine. I was fortunate there was no oncoming cars as I made the turn or I would have been killed. Had this happened on the highway I could of caused a major reck killing multiple people. I was fortunate and pulled over to the side and had the car towed to a mechanic. He took a look and said there was a significant leak coming from the transmission and I should take it to a VW dealership because there are a lot of recalls for this type of stuff. I had it towed to VW and they're professional mechanic said it was a hairline crack in the transmission that caused an oil leak into the electronic gearbox which caused the loss of control and power. They said there is no recall and it would be a $12,000.00 fix. The car has 47K original miles on it, no wrecks, and I've never missed an oil change. Had I not quickly reacted I could of caused a car accident injuring or killing myself or someone else. This is unbelievable that VW is not being held responsible for this. There is a recall for this exact problem Recall Number: 34J6 but for some reason it does no include my specific Jetta. How is that possible?

WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER WITH THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. I PLACED THE VEHICLE IN PARK FOR 30 SECONDS AND ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, IT TURNED ON BUT WOULD NOT GO INTO GEAR. I THEN HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER (MISSION BAY VOLKSWAGEN ' (ADDRESS 2205 MORENA BLVD, SAN DIEGO, CA 92110) TO BE DIAGNOSED. I WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS A CRACK IN THE TRANSMISSION WHICH CAUSED OIL TO LEAK INTO THE ELECTRICAL GEARBOX CAUSING IT TO FAIL. I'M THE SECOND OWNER AND IT HAS 47,000 ORIGINAL MILES ON IT.

1. Fuel pump control module shorted out and electrical fuse was blown. 2. Yes, the part is available for inspection. 3. Vehicle completely shut off while driving on the road without any prior dashboard indicators or symptoms of something going wrong. 4. Part #1K0-906-093-J manufactured by Kuhnke a tier 1 supplier for VW. Fuel pump control module is mounted on top of gas tank area and was melted and shorted out, and a thorough inspection, and replacement was done by the VW dealer: Diehl Toyota/VW, Butler, PA. 5. This same issue was a recalled on 281,000 VW models as per NHTSA bulletin #20AE. VW recall #17V509000. 6. VW said my VIN is not included in the recall. But, it the exact same failure, part, and manufacturer of the part for VW/Audi. So WHY? is my VIN not included. It doesn't seem to be batch related, but a design defect. 7. Vehicle would not restart and could not be driven. It was flat-bedded to the dealer.

IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR SPONTANEOUSLY SHUT DOWN ELECTRICALLY, AS IF A FUSE SHORTED, ALMOST ALL DASHBOARD LIGHTS TURNED ON, THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP, AND THE BRAKES WENT UNRESPONSIVE, NEARLY CAUSING A COLLISION. ONCE THE CAR CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP, IT WAS TURNED OFF IN AN ATTEMPT TO REGAIN CONTROL. GO ONLINE TO PLACES LIKE TIRERACK.COM AND SEARCH THE WEB, THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME THING WITH THIS TIRE AND IN THE APPROXIMATELY 30,000-40,000 MILES A YEAR OF DRIVING I PUT ON TWO VEHICLES COMBINED (IN WHICH I AVERAGE A NEW CAR PURCHASE EVERY YEAR AND HALF), ONLY THESE TIRES HAVE EVER BEEN AN ISSUE AND VW EQUIPS THESE ON BOTH THE GLI AND GTI WITH THE SAME SAID COMPLAINTS, WHILE OTHER BRANDS OF TIRES IN THE SAME SIZE DO NOT HAVE THE COMPLAINTS LIKE THESE. VEHICLE HAS FIRESTONE 205/55R16 TIRES WITH 33,865 MILES. THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE SIDEWALL SPLIT WHILE DRIVING IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA AT A LOW SPEED CAUSING A FLAT TIRE. ALL DRIVING HAS BEEN ROUTINE. THERE IS NO LEGITIMATE REASON FOR A SIDEWALL TO SPLIT AFTER ONLY 33,865 MILES ON IT UNLESS IT IS DEFECTIVE. CURRENTLY, THE TIRE CANNOT BE CHANGED BY THE OWNER BECAUSE THE MANUFACTURER HAS INSTALLED LOCKING LUG NUTS AND WILL NOT PROVIDE THE SPECIAL KEY TO REMOVE THE WHEEL. Vehicle on several occasions lost power while driving causing me to coast to the side of the road. After stopping and placing car in park, tried to restart vehicle and started up with no lights on dashboard as to this issue. Took car to VW dealer and was told they would complete the recall work to fix the powertrain issues of gearbox fluid leaking causing corrosion and leaks into transmission. Received call from dealership who stated transmission was totally damaged and replacement was $11,000.00. I went to the dealership to discuss and was told they had no specific information as to the codes received when they ran the diagnostic. They also stated they did not fix the recall and had no reason for not fixing recall other than the cost to replace the transmission was not worth it based on value of car. I strongly believe that the recall issue is the reason for any damage to the transmission as they are directly related. I have researched on-line and there are a lot of individuals with the same issue and the same responses from VW not wanting to acknowledge the recall issue and the direct relation to any transmission issues. I have driven this car and there has been issues with the automatic transmission shifting gears. I believe the cost (parts and labor) to repair the actual recall issue is the driving decision to tell customers that the transmission is bad. One post actual had a customer trade in his Jetta at the VW dealer for a VW Passat and was only given $150.00 trade-in allowance. Later the individual searched their car by VIN and found the car was for sale. VW should be required to completely fix the recall and related transmission issues and/or purchase back these vehicles at a negotiated price. I am the original owner of this car and it only has 127,000 miles. This is only about 10,000 miles per year. Please look into similar reports of these issues by others. VW also stopped production of this car knowing the defects that would occur or were occurring.

I would assume the issue had something to do with the power train. 2 days after i had bought the car my wife and i were on our way to the gym and we had just came to a complete stop. Upon entering the highway the car would no longer accelerate no matter how much pressure was put on the accelerator pedal. The engine light also came on. Luckily there were no cars behind me and I was able to pull over with the car moving on its own. This is really dangerous. This has happened to me multiple times. I have taken it back to the dealership i had bought the car from and they have a private mechanic that solely works for the company. He has scanned for any codes and has told me no codes are populating so he’s not sure why the engine light is still on. It was taken to a VW dealership and the vehicle will no longer start. There was an electrical issue at some point and now might be a transmission issue along with other things.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and unknown sensors were replaced, but the failure persisted. On another occasion while driving 50 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who stated that the throttle body needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the electrical control module was replaced. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 110,000.

Unknown system failure or component. Ever since I've bought the vehicle in I believe 2017 from EICH VW, it has consistently died while driving or idling. It also was "slamming on the brakes on its own" when the car would die. It jerks consistently as well. The latest out of hundreds of incidents, was yesterday, it stalled at a red light that had turned green, so I was stopped, I turned my hazards on immediately when it had stalled. The vehicle behind me went into the turn lane and the vehicle behind it was coming at me at 60+ mph as that was the speed limit on the road. There is NO warning as to when it will stall, almost never any dash light, maybe only once or twice a year. And it can go weeks or even months without incident and then go crazy for weeks or months straight. It stalling out has almost killed me and my son when trying to cross the highway to get to his dad's house, in that situation me and my at the time when I used to take that way he was 1/2 years old, and we were almost t boned by the oncoming traffic after it had stalled. I have taken it to some many certified dealers and "experts" and no one can tell me what is wrong. It has now gotten to the point where it is happening so often I'm scared to put my three year old in my car. This is a VERY COMMON issue Volkswagen knows about but won't acknowledge or do anything about, I did not know about it until after buying the car. There are no beforehand symptoms, there is no way to tell when it is going to happen, even the car is running perfectly fine before it happens. I know that service providers have been able to experience exactly what happens, but they may not remember as this has been going on for years and I'm not their only customer, and I don't even remember everywhere I've been to try and fix the problem. But it is something I have been publicly asking about and complaining about for years. My ex who works for Toyota, even experienced it when we first met, and we had to have my car towed.

Component Failure: Airbag Light is On, No steering wheel electronic controls work including cruise control. Safety: I'm uncertain if the Airbag will deploy in the event of a crash. Dealer Confirmed: Dealer states the Steering Wheel Clock Spring requires replacement, but that it is not a part of the VW recall issued August 2015. Inspected: Hiley VW Dealership inspected the vehicle Warning Lamps: Airbag Light is currently on. Uncertain when it started since I'm the 2nd owner of the vehicle.

Vehicle would not shift, OBD2 code P037B "stuck in gear 6." Vehicle towed to a auto mechanic that said they spoke with VW dealer and confirmed it was a crack in the transmission and was undriveable. I have contacted VW who have said there are recalls for many transmissions of this Jetta but not for my VIN. I have also had issues with the clock spring (replaced) and an air bag sensor (malfunction light still on) and now the transmission. There are recalls for Hybrid Jettas of this year but apparently not for my VIN. It seems like a large coincidence and feels like it should be investigated, especially considering the other issues VW was investigated for at this time of production.

The transmissions on the 2013-2016 Jetta Hybrids have an extremely high failure rate. These transmissions fail without warning and leave the car without propulsion and deactivate the regenerative brakes causing the car to behave erratically. VW issued a recall (19V866000) but are claiming owners within those model years with the exact same issues are "not covered". I have experienced this myself and you can find many many many examples on the complaints section of this website. VW issued a recall but is claiming everyones vin is not included.

Transmission failing to go into gear when vehicle is in motion, gear will slip causing vehicle to lose gear and stop until vehicle is shut off and restarted. Problem could cause others to crash into vehicle when this happens from the rear or not have enough space or time to pull over to the emergency lane to shut off vehicle and restart all gears to proceed. Vehicle hasn’t been inspected and will be available for inspection upon request.

The ABS lights go on and the speedometer stopped working and all the lights have activated. the abs module has been reported that there is a defect in most of the jettas and so i believe that this should be a recall issue.

I was driving on the street and my check engine light came on, as I was making a turn at about 35 miles an hour my car acted like it kicked into neutral and when pressing the gas just revved the engine. I safely pulled over to the side and had the car towed to a mechanic. He took a look and said there was a significant leak coming from the transmission and I should take it to a VW dealership because there are a lot of recalls for this type of stuff. I had it towed to VW and they said it was a hairline crack in the transmission that caused an oil leak into the electronic gearbox which caused the loss of control and power. They said there is no recall and it would be a $12,000.00 fix. The car has 47K original miles on it, no wrecks, and I've never missed an oil change.

IF YOU PUT A STRING AROUND THE BACK REST AND SLIDE IT DOWN FROM TOP TO BOTTOM AND YOU CAN CLEARLY MEASURE THE DIFFERENCE IN DEPTH DISTANCE BETWEEN THE CORD ON BOTH VERTICAL ENDS OF THE BACKREST AS YOU SLIDE IT DOWN. I DID THE TEST RECENTLY IN FRONT OF A VW TECHNICIAN AND HE AGREED WITH ME THAT THE BACKREST WAS TILTED INWARDS. I FIRST REPORTED THIS ISSUE TO VOLKSWAGEN OF AMERICA WHEN THE CAR WAS STILL UNDER FULL WARRANTY IN SEPTEMBER 2016 WHEN I JUST BOUGHT IT WITH 24,000 MILES. AT THAT TIME THEY SAID THEY DEPENDED ON THE DEALERS MECHANICS OPINION. BUT THE TECHS ONCE CONFRONTED PREFERED NOT TO ANALYZE EVIDENCE THAT WAS UNFAMILIAR AND POTENTIALLY COMPROMISING. I WENT BACK TO VOLKSWAGEN OF AMERICA RECENTLY WITH A FULL CONFIRMATION OF THE PROBLEM. BOTH THE WIPER MOTOR AND FLUID WASHER PUMP ON MY JETTA HAVE TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF APPROXIMATELY $1,000. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE IN A CAR THAT IS LESS THAN 4 YEARS OLD, AND UNDER 58,000 MILES. EITHER THE DESIGN OF THE SYSTEMS IS POOR, OR VW IS USING INFERIOR PARTS THAT QUICKLY ARE OBSOLETE. THERE HAVE BEEN MANY ISSUES WITH THIS MODEL BUT THE ONE I AM HAVING MORE ISSUES WITH, ARE THE HEAD LAMPS AND/OR FUSES. IN OCTOBER OF 2014, MY LEFT SIDE LOW BEAM STOPPED WORKING, I BOUGHT 2 BULBS SO IT COULD BE REPLACED AND THEN IT WASN'T THE BULB, IT WAS A FUSE. IN JANUARY 2015, THE LEFT SIDE BULB STOPPED WORKING AGAIN, I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER BECAUSE I COULDN'T FIND ANY FUSE THAT WAS BLOWN ON MY OWN, THIS TIME IT WAS THE BULB. NOW IT IS THE RIGHT SIDE LOW BEAM THAT ISN'T WORKING. I AM NOT SURE WHAT IS GOING ON BUT I HAVE ANOTHER CAR THAT IS 20 YEARS OLD AND I HAVE REPLACED THE BULBS ONLY 1 TIME. WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT THIS CAR IN JUNE OF 2013, I HAD IT LESS THAN ONE MONTH AND WHILE GOING ACROSS A RAIL ROAD CROSSING, THE CAR SHUT OFF COMPLETELY. AFTER TESTS, THEY SAID THAT IT SHOWED NOTHING AND THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND STILL NOTHING WAS FOUND. THE SEAT BELT SIGN COMES ON FOR THE RIGHT FRONT SEAT BECAUSE OF A SENSOR WHEN NO ONE IS IN IT. THE TRUNK HAS A DELAY ON IT AND TAKES A WHILE TO OPEN. THE GAS MILEAGE IS NOT AT ALL WHAT IT CLAIMS EITHER. I GET AT THE MOST 32-34 MPG AND 99% OF MY DRIVING IS ON THE INTERSTATE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 VOLKSWAGEN JETTA. WHILE DRIVING 85 MPH, THE ELECTRICAL BOARD BECAME INOPERABLE AND THE BRAKES SEIZED. ALL OF THE INDICATORS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ILLUMINATED. THE ENGINE STALLED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE SAFETY PIN THAT WAS CONNECTED TO THE ELECTRICAL BOARD WAS NOT FULLY ENGAGED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000.

WHEN DRIVING UP A STEEP, SNOWY HILL WITH STUDDED SNOW TIRES, THE ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL FUNCTION IMPROPERLY REGULATED THE WHEEL CONTROL AND SPEED. I WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE UP THE HILL AS A RESULT OF MY TIRES CONTINUOUSLY LOCKING UP, DISABLING ANY FORWARD MOTION. WHEN THIS ESC CONTROL PREVENTED ME FROM DRIVING UP THE HILL, I WAS FORCED TO RETREAT FROM MY DESTINATION, DRIVING IN, WHAT I CONSIDERED TO BE, MORE HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS. SEVERAL VEHICLES WITH TWO-WHEEL DRIVE WERE ABLE TO SURMOUNT THIS HILL. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE LIFE OF MY CAR. PLEASE NOTE, THIS REPORT IS FOR A 2013 JETTA TDI SEDAN, WHICH DOES NOT HAVE A ESC BUTTON FOR OPTIONAL ESC USE. ALL OTHER JETTA MODELS INCLUDE AN ESC BUTTON TO GIVE THE DRIVER AN OPTION TO DISABLE THE ESC CONTROLS DURING HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS. THIS IS NOT AN OPTION FOR THE 2013 JETTA TDI SEDAN. WHEN I QUERIED THE MANUFACTURER, THEY INFORMED ME THAT INSTALLING AN ESC OPTIONAL BUTTON WAS NOT ALLOWED IN THIS MAKE AND MODEL OF CAR. *TR

I WAS DRIVING AS NORMAL WHEN THE GLOW PLUG LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING, ALONG WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND I LOST ALL POWER.THANKFULLY I WAS ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET, AND WAS ABLE TO SAFELY PULL OVER AND HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER. DIAGNOSIS WAS COMPLETE FUEL SYSTEM FAILURE CAUSED BY HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP DESTRUCTING ITSELF AND SENDING METAL SHARDS INTO THE SYSTEM. INITIALLY DEALER SUSPECTED CONTAMINATED DIESEL. UPON ANALYSIS OF FUEL DEALER CONFIRMED THAT ONLY DIESEL WAS PRESENT IN THE SYSTEM AND THE DAMAGE WAS CAUSED BY A FAULTY HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP. AS A RESULT OF THIS ALL FUEL SYSTEM PARTS ARE HAVING TO BE REPLACED INCLUDING INJECTORS, HPFP, LIFT PUMP, FUEL LINES ETC ETC. VW IS COVERING REPAIRS UNDER WARRANTY AS THEY SHOULD, BUT CLEARLY THE ONGOING ISSUE OF HPFP FAILURES IN VW TDIS HAS NOT YET BEEN FULLY RESOLVED. *TR

I WAS DRIVING THE CAR APPROXIMATELY 40 MILES PER HOUR ON A STRAIGHT ROAD, WHEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE ENGINE LOST POWER AND I STARTED COASTING IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. I WOULD PRESS THE GAS AND THE ENGINE WOULD REV, BUT NO POWER WOULD BE DELIVERED. IT WAS UNLIKE ANYTHING I'VE EXPERIENCED BEFORE WITH THE CAR. IT WAS LIKE I WAS IN A FALSE NEUTRAL, THE RPMS WOULD INCREASE BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN I WAS PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL. SINCE THE CAR WOULD NOT REGAIN POWER, I WAS FORCED TO COAST TO A HALT IN TRAFFIC. WHEN I TRIED TO REMOVE MY KEY TO POWER DOWN THE CAR, IT WOULD NOT LET ME TAKE THE KEY OUT OF THE TRANSMISSION. MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST ACCELERATION AND SUBSEQUENTLY STALLED. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO PULL BETWEEN SOME CONSTRUCTION CONES BEFORE IT LOST POWER COMPLETELY. UPON TOWING TO A DEALER, I WAS TOLD THE FUEL PUMP HAD FAILED. VW WARRANTY WILL COVER ALL DAMAGE, BUT IT IS CONSIDERABLE. ALL FUEL INJECTORS, PUMPS, LINES ETC WILL BE REPLACED. I SOON LEARNED FROM FRIENDS THAT THIS HAPPENED TO THEIR TDI MODEL VEHICLES AS WELL. ALL INFORMATION THAT I FIND DATES TO 2011, BUT YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS PROBLEM IS STILL OCCURRING. I AM VERY CAUTIOUS ABOUT WHERE I FILL UP AND STILL EXPERIENCED THIS FAILURE. APPROACHED TRAFFIC LIGHT (WHICH WAS RED). WHEN LIGHT CHANGED, ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A LEFT TURN. NO POWER FOR ABOUT 3 SECONDS, THEN ACCELERATED THROUGH THE LIGHT AND ALL WAS NORMAL. NOW HAVE ABOUT 1500 MILES ON THE CAR AND SIMILAR SITUATIONS HAVE OCCURRED. ESTIMATED THAT WE HAD ABOUT 15 REPEATS OF THIS PROBLEM. DEALER FOUND NO CODES AND COULD NOT REPEAT THE PROBLEM. DEALER SAID WE WOULD HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL A CODE WAS RECORDED BEFORE THEY COULD DO ANYTHING. PROBLEM OCCURRED TWICE WITH A COLD ENGINE AND THE REST OF THE TIME WHEN THE ENGINE WAS THOROUGHLY WARMED UP. FEEL THAT THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM AND SOMETHING MUST BE DONE. WE COULD MAKE A LEFT TURN INTO APPROACHING TRAFFIC AND BE STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION.. A COUPLE OF WEEKS AFTER BUYING THIS NEW VEHICLE I NOTICED THAT HUNDREDS OF FOGGY LOOKING SPOTS WOULD APPEAR IN THE REAR WINDSHIELD AT CERTAIN TIMES OF THE DAY. WHEN THESE SPOTS APPEAR IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE OUT OF THIS WINDSHIELD OR INTO IT . THIS USUALLY HAPPENS AROUND DAWN AND AROUND DUSK THOUGH IT HAS HAPPENED AT OTHER TIMES OF THE DAY ALSO. I HAVE PURSUED HAVING THIS PROBLEM RESOLVED BY CONTACTING THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES ONLY TO BE TOLD IT IS BECAUSE OF THE WINDOW BEING POLARIZED AND THAT THE WINDOW IS UP TO MANUFACTURER SPECIFICATIONS. PRETTY MUCH THEY HAVE TOLD ME, TOO BAD THAT'S THE WAY IT IS. I HAVE EXPRESSED TO THE DEALER AND TO VOLKSWAGEN OF AMERICA THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO THE FACT THAT YOU CAN NOT SEE OUT OF OR IN THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD WHEN THESE FOGGY SPOTS ARE THERE. AFTER MONTHS OF TRYING TO GET THEM TO AT LEAST ACKNOWLEDGE THERE IS A PROBLEM THEY FINALLY SENT AN EXECUTIVE DOWN TO LOOK AT THE PROBLEM. THEIR LAST TIME I HEARD FROM THEM, THEY SAID THEY WOULD TINT THE REAR WINDSHIELD SO THAT I WOULDN'T SEE THE PROBLEM. TO ME THIS DOES NOT MAKE ANY SENSE. IF YOU TRY TO COVER UP THE PROBLEM YOU DO NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I FEEL THAT THEY ARE TRYING TO COVER UP A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM AND IGNORING SAFETY ISSUES. I DON'T KNOW WHO TO TALK TO OR WHERE TO GO FROM HERE WITH THIS PROBLEM. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH I AM GETTING NOWHERE WITH THEM. I AM READING ABOUT OTHERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS IN VW FORUMS ON THE INTERNET AND AM SURE THERE MUST BE OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND AM WONDERING IF OTHERS HAVE SENT COMPLAINTS INTO THIS DEPARTMENT ALSO.
