The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact was pulled over by a Police Officer, and was informed that both taillights were inoperable. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the taillight assemblies. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 122,000.

Racetrack light bar has failed twice since purchasing this car. The same bulb has went out and in order to pass inspection I need to replace the whole thing. I've had this vehicle for 2 years.

The rear tail light racetrack assembly gasket has permitted water intrusion, with currently about an inch of water having collected in the light. The lower segments of the LED lights have failed, posing a safety risk due to reduced visibility, as well as a fire risk. In addition, the rear license plate LED module has failed, likely due to this water intrusion, requiring replacement no less than 4 times since i have owned this vehicle (since 2015). This repair is costly, roughly $300 each time. It was just replaced in November of 2024, and has already failed.

The “racetrack” tail light on my wifes Durango is completely burnt out due to water infiltration in the assembly, which is a now known issue for multiple drivers of a Durango. With that being said, since it’s been burnt out, my wife has almost been rear ended 3 times now and I believe it could have something to do with 90% of tail lights that is equipped with the vehicle is now burnt out due to a flaw in manufacturing. It is also a $1000+ repair being you have to replace the entire assembly. Her application of the brakes would be more well known if the entire assembly illuminated and make safer driving conditions for her and others. I understand the product needs replaced but with it being a now known flaw, I don’t believe it should be at the expenses of the vehicle owners.

The contact stated that while making a turn at a slow speed, there was an abnormal sound coming from the front driver’s side headrest, and the headrest deployed unintendedly. The contact had her two children inside the vehicle during the failure. The children had not sustained any injuries. The contact was unable to push the headrest back into the housing. No warning light was illuminated. The headrest struck the back of the contact's head, and the right ear was ringing. The contact drove the vehicle to the residence. The contact had not sought medical attention. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 168,122.

Driver side front headrest exploded/deployed while the car was parked. The plastic latch inside the headrest is broken so resetting it is impossible. This is concerning and highly dangerous! Upon researching this, it’s a known issue for Dodge models and yet isn’t a recall? My car was parked when this happened.

During the failure, there was a loud explosion distracting the contact and the headrest unit struck the rear of the passenger’s head, causing a headache. No medical treatment was required. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, and it was determined that the headrest unit needed to be replaced. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the vehicle was not covered under an extend warranty coverage related to the failure. The failure mileage was 169,000.

Driving 2014 Dodge Durango when the active headrest restraint on the passenger seat activated. No accident or impact to the vehicle during incident. Resulted in passenger receiving a solid "punch" to the back of the head and neck resulting in headaches for a week. If this had happened on the driver's seat (and it still could !), I can imagine an accident is possible due to the utter surprise of the noise and being punched in the head while driving. At the time of the incident, we had no idea what had happened but have since learned that our experience is not unprecedented and there are numerous similar reports of "exploding" Dodge/Jeep headrests on NHTSA. Wanting to report incident to NHTSA before taking to dealer for repair (hopefully). No warnings of impending AHR activation and no indication of activation in UConnect after the incident. There is an active NHTSA investigation PE 19014 on this exact component failure.

Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2014 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that while attempting to repair the vehicle, it was discovered that there was a mileage discrepancy. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 76,173, and the vehicle warranty company informed the contact that it was discovered that the mileage displayed on the title was 92,500. Additionally, the contact retrieved the vehicle Carfax report and confirmed that the mileage was 92,500.

The vehicle was a private sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 92,000 and at the time of the insurance registration, it was discovered that the mileage was 170,000.

The alternator failed, and my battery would not take a charge. Had scanner used and report showed faulty alternator. I was driving and went into a parking slot, when I put gear in park, all power went out. The it wouldn't turn on, occasionally lights would flicker on and off. Tried to jump start it several times but it wouldn't take. Finally got a jump, truck started but the couldn't change gears. I have not taken it yet to get it diagnosed. I truly feel this issue should be a recall as I had no warning whatsoever. My vehicle has no power, and is well maintained

The display on the instrument panel darkened and the vehicle unintentionally shifted into park and the vehicle failed to return to normal operation. The vehicle was not drivable and was towed to the residence. The contact researched online and became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V741000 (Electrical System); however, the VIN was not included. A dealer was not contacted. The contact self-diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 109,000.

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? 3rd for left and right seatbelts do not retract or lock. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? I have children and they ride in that row if the seatbelts do not retract or lock they will fail in a crash. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. Dealership confirmed problem Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Dodge dealership has inspected vehicle on 1/3/2025 Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warnings. Recently purchased vehicle and noticed 2nd time driving it. Front seat belts jave the same issue but are covered under an extended part warranty. This issue puts children's safety at risk and should also be covered however all we got from the dealer was an offer of a discount. This is a known issue with this year make and model that dodge is profiting off of because it is a safety issue. They should recall the vehicle for this since children could be at risk of ejection during a crash. As a nurse this really irritates me that they know about this and could add it to the extended part warranty and have refused to do so.

I have a 2014 Dodge Durango. The driver side seat belt will no longer retract. I took vehicle to the nearest dealership, and they said a repair would not be covered under warranty and quoted me at $375.00 for a $50 part and the rest being labor for about 1.5 hours of work. I asked about any warranty since it was a safety issue but they said it was not covered. I am really disappointed to hear that the seat belt retraction not working and therefore causing the seatbelt to no function properly is not a safety concern for dodge. The 3rd row seat belt restraints failed. The left side was able to be fished back in but the right side was NOT able to be fished back in to get it to reset. I don’t want to use either until they are replaced. I did see there was a recall with this same issue with other models but not my VIN.

Car has stalled several times recently on the interstate at least 5 times. Randomly just shuts down. Once stopped the dash says shift in to park to start. Then it will start.

A new 3.6 Pentastar engine was installed in my 2014 Dodge Durango in July 2019, this repair was over $5,000 and FCA only granted a $1300 goodwill towards the cost. After maintaining the vehicle with a new engine in it, this engine is now failing too. The problem is due to the right cylinder head being damaged. This has caused a knocking noise emitting from the engine and rough idling whenever the vehicle is on. A tune up was done last year in December when check engine light came on, with new spark plugs and filters put in but this has not solved the issued. Taking the vehicle back to mechanic to do further diagnostic, a pressure test was done showing the 6 cylinder had no pressure. A damage head with possible damage to crankshaft rods and rocker arms. This vehicle is our main vehicle for our family, and the price to repair this damage on the second engine this car has had is too high. If we continue driving this vehicle, we would result in total power failure, worst case a blown engine. Complaints have been filed with Attorney General of the state of Florida along with the Better Business Bureau.

Manifold bolts regularly break on Dodge Durango V8 vehicles. Mine are broken, which results in exhaust leak and interferes with the exhaust system, leading to engine check lights and potentially other performance or emissions issues. Symptoms include a loud ticking sound that comes from the engine bay at startup. FCA issued a service bulletin on this known problem and many customers have reported this issue on internet forums dedicated to this vehicle. Several customers have had these bolts break multiple times. The engine block and the manifold are different materials so they expand at different rates with increase in temperature. This places excess stress on small diameter bolts, which eventually fail due to this defect.

The engine was making a loud clicking noise as soon as I started it up. I towed it to the dealer (Sports Durst) and the diagnostic said the engine needs rebuilding. The SUV has only 80.041 miles on it and the engine has deteriorated is a common problem with this mileage. There are comments all over the internet about the Hemi 5.7 engine failing around 80,000 miles. I should not have to pay to repair an engine this is already defective when it leaves the factory.

Durango has HID headlights. Sometimes one or both headlights do not come on. It is not the headlight bulbs. This is an intermittent problem. Sometimes left doesn't light and sometimes right doesn't light. Safety of driving at night to my family and anyone else on the road is compromised! Many reports of this same problem on cars and trucks with HID headlights. The problem has been reproduced at dealer.

Currently only operating with the passenger side light which is a huge problem in the state of MI. No warning lamps appeared... I noticed it after a car wash.

WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE AT 60 MPH MY LIGHTS STARTED TO FLICKER ON AND OFF. EVENTUALLY THEY STOPPED BUT THE DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT HAD NEVER CAME BACK ON. I REPLACED THE BULB AND STILL NOTHING. BEING ON THE HIGHWAYS I FELT I WAS CAUSING DISTRACTIONS TO OTHER DRIVERS FROM MY HEADLIGHTS MALFUNCTIONING AND PUTTING MYSELF IN DANGER WITHOUT HAVING THE PROPER LIGHTING TO DRIVE SAFELY.

The power lift gate failed and I was hit pretty hard. Would have been worse if it was my wife or kids and probably would have been more than an bruise and being sore. The “special stud” that connects the power rod to the body of the Durango broke off. Part of the bolt is still in the body in the threads and the other part is still connected to the power lift. It than created issues to even close the door and be able to drive without the hatch open. The parts are on order and will in next week to see if it can be repaired. Currently the door is not usable and the power lift rod had to be disconnected to stop further damage to the body of the vehicle. Door will not stay open and the dealer is unsure if they can get the broken part of the bolt out to complete the repair.

I bought this vehicle brand new. Many issues right from the start. Right off the bat the vehicle would randomly accelerate while driving or just stall while on the highway. I had a wreck when the car was less than 3 months old. I stepped on the break and the car accelerated into on coming traffic and I hit a vehicle. I took it into the dealership many times reporting this problem to the service techs and they dismissed it that my car was "learning me" and was not "broken in" yet. Along with engine ticking and engine lights coming on I have had so many issues with this vehicle.

STOPPED SUV ON INCLINE ON REMOTE PORTION OF POST CANYON ROAD IN HOOD RIVER COUNTY, OR. UPON RESTARTING VEHICLE, AND PLACING IT INTO DRIVE, THE VEHICLE ROLLED SLIGHTLY BACKWARDS AND HIT THE PARK LATCH, STOPPING IMMEDIATELY. INDICATOR ABOVE SHIFT KNOB AND DASHBOARD GEAR INDICATOR BOTH FLASHING. ENGINE REVVED WHEN PRESSING ACCELERATOR, VEHICLE NOT IN GEAR. PUT BACK IN PARK AND TRIED AGAIN, SAME RESULT. TRIED REVERSE AND NEUTRAL. SAME RESULT. STOPPED ENGINE, RESTARTED AND TRIED SHIFTING INTO ANY GEAR AGAIN, SAME RESULT. AFTER SOME 15-20 MINUTES OF TRYING, AND LIGHTLY PRESSING ON BRAKE, GOT THE CAR TO GO INTO REVERSE. BACKED UP AS FAR AS I COULD TO GET CAR POINTED DOWN HILL, BUT CAR WOULD STILL NOT GO INTO DRIVE, FLASHING THE INDICATORS AGAIN. AFTER ANOTHER 10 MINUTES OR SO OF TRYING VARIOUS COMBINATIONS, GOT CAR INTO DRIVE BY VERY LIGHTLY PRESSING BRAKE AND ROLLING FORWARD IN DRIVE. VEHICLE WAS THEN NORMAL. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE DURANGO. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK, IT UNINTENTIONALLY ROLLED AWAY WITH OCCUPANTS IN THE BACK SEAT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ON/OFF SWITCH WAS PRESSED BY AN OCCUPANT INSIDE THE VEHICLE, WHICH STOPPED THE VEHICLE. WHILE THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO ENTER THE VEHICLE, SHE FELL AND THE VEHICLE ROLLED OVER HER FINGERS. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO HER RIGHT ANKLE, RIGHT LEG, AND LEFT ARM, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.

MY 14 DODGE DURANGO BEGAN TO MAKE A CLICKING NOISE WHEN RUNNING. 10/17/17- IT WAS FOUND THAT THE EXHAUST CAM LIFTERS AND ROCKER ARMS ON RIGHT SIDE OF ENGINE WERE WORN. IT WAS WARRANTIED AND REPLACED. IT WAS REPLACED AGAIN IN THE SUMMER OF 18. I WAS TOLD THE LEFT SIDE WOULD EVENTUALLY NEED REPLACED AS WELL, BUT THEY COULDN'T UNTIL IT PRESENTED A PROBLEM. IN NOVEMBER OF 18 THE SAME NOISE HAPPENED AGAIN. IT WAS PUT IN THE SHOP DEC. 26TH. IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH THE SAME PROBLEM(RIGHT) AND THE LEFT. THE DEALER WILL FIX THE RIGHT SIDE(FOR THE THIRD TIME) BECAUSE IT IS UNDER WARRANTY. THEY WILL NOT FIX THE LEFT. MY CAR JUST WENT OVER 100,000. THE DEALER EXPRESSED THAT HE WAS SURPRISED IT WAS NOT A RECALL BECAUSE THIS IS SO COMMON. AT THIS POINT, THE WEAR HAPPENS EVERY SIX MONTHS. I FEEL IT SHOULD BE UNDER WARRANTY AS THE VERY LEAST, OR RECALLED. IT IS THE SAME PROBLEM THREE TIMES IN A LITTLE OVER 1 YEAR.

The contact's daughter veered to the side of the road and inspected the vehicle but could not determine the cause of the popping sound. Upon returning inside the vehicle, the contact's daughter noticed that the front passenger's side headrest had independently deployed. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact's daughter continued to drive the vehicle. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. *2nd reporting of same issue* Intermittent failure to start/stopping occurring again. Fuel pump and TIPM was replaced and issue is still occurring about 8 months later. 2011-2013 durangos had a recall for this issue. I believe the 2014s should be included as well. This is very dangerous and a safety hazard should vehicle stalls and unable to start.

CAR IS HAVING ISSUES PERIODICALLY WHEN CRANKING, IT WILL SOMETIMES TAKE 2-3 SECONDS FROM PUSH THE "START" BUTTON UNTIL THE CAR CRANKS OVER. FROM TALKING TO MY GARAGE AND DOING ADDITIONAL RESEARCH ON NHTSA, I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS WAS A PROBLEM THAT THE 2011-2013 MY DURANGOS WERE RECALLED UNDER, HOWEVER IT APPEARS THIS IS A PROBLEM FOR MY 2014 AT LEAST ALSO. I CALLED THE DEALER WHO ALMOST IMMEDIATELY ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE BUT ON A LOOK-UP ON MY VIN DID STATE THAT THIS HAD NOT BEEN RECALLED YET FOR THE 2014S. I WOULD NOTE THE ISSUE MORE FREQUENTLY OCCURS WHEN COLD BUT IT'S NOT CONSISTENT. CHEXK ENGINE LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON AND OFF FOR THE PAST FEW DAYS. GOT IT SCANNED AND THE CODE THE COMES UP IS A P052 - FAULTY OUL PRESSURE SENSOR. AFTER SOME RESEARCH I FOUND THERE ARE QUITE A FEW OTHER MODELS EFFECTED BY THIS ISSUE BUT ONLY CERTAIN ONES ARE BEING REPAIRED WITHOUT COST TO CUSTOMER. ON MY DASH THE OIL PREASURE READS AT 85%-100% AT IDLE AND STAYS AT 100% WHEN GIVING IT GAS.

I PURCHASED MY DODGE DURANGO BRAND NEW IN 2014 AND NEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH IT. IT IS CURRENTLY IN GREAT CONDITION EXCEPT THAT I RECENTLY TOOK IT IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE ON 3/9/19. IT SAT IN MY DRIVEWAY UNTIL MY WIFE DROVE IT TO WORK THE FOLLOWING MONDAY MORNING. ON HER WAY HOME FROM WORK SHE STARTED TO SMELL AN OVERWHELMING BURNING ELECTRICAL SMELL. I SUBMITTED A PREVIOUS REPORT RELATED TO THIS ISSUE. TODAY MY CAR WAS PARKED ON THE STREET AND TOTALLY STARTED ON ITS OWN. THIS CAR DOES NOT HAVE A REMOTE START. I WAS WALKING TOWARDS MY CAR TRYING TO TURN OFF THE PANIC HORN WHICH WAS SOUNDING. I WAS APPROXIMATELY 15 TO 20 FEET AWAY FROM THE CAR WHEN IT STARTED. THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND STATED LOW FLUID. I TOPPED OFF THE FLUID. I CHECKED ALL WHEELS FOR LEAKS AND FOUND NONE. SEVERAL WEEKS LATER, THE SAME WARNING APPEARED AND BREAK FLUID WAS LOW AGAIN. I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH APPLE DODGE IN HANOVER, PA. THEY FOUND THAT THE BRAKE LINE HAD BEEN RUBBING ON THE STEERING COLUMN AND RUBBED A HOLE IN THE METAL BRAKE LINE CAUSING THE LEAK. THIS VEHICLE HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND HAS NEVER BEEN "OFF-ROADING". I CONTACTED DODGE TO REQUEST A REFUND OF THE BRAKE SYSTEM REPAIR AS I FEEL THAT THIS WAS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND THE VEHICLE LEFT THE FACTORY WITH THE CONDITION OF THE BRAKE LINE RUBBING THE STEERING COLUMN AND THIS SHOULD BE TREATED THE SAME AS A RECALL. DODGE CASE MANAGEMENT # 59431690. I WAS NOTIFIED BY PHONE TODAY, 9/6/19, THAT DODGE WOULD ONLY REFUND 50% OF THE REPAIR COST. THIS BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE COULD HAVE CAUSED A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT AND EVEN DEATH. MY CAR PRESENTED A SAFETY RELATED DEFECT RECENTLY. I WAS DRIVING IN A CITY STREET TAKING MY KIDS TO SCHOOL WHEN A SIGN OF SERVICE BRAKES APPEARED IN THE SCREEN. THE BRAKES STOOPED WORKING PROPERLY AND I ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT PUTTING MY ENTIRE FAMILY IN A VERY UNSAFE CONDITION. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE KENDALL DODGE DEALER THEY TOLD ME THAT THE CAR HAD HYDRAULIC POWER ASSIST PROBLEM OR BRAKE BOOSTER FAULTY. I PAID THE REPAIR OUT OF MY POCKET. LATER, I FOUND OUT THAT CHRYSLER HAD A RECALL IN 11/2017 FOR THE SAME PROBLEM I HAD HYDRAULIC: POWER ASSIST, RECALL NUMBER T-59. I NEED TO INCLUDE MY CAR IN THE LIST OF THE CARS AFFECTED BY THIS ISSUE. WHEN I CALLED CHRYSLER THEY TOLD TO REPORTED IT TO YOU SO MY CAR CAN BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL LIST BECAUSE AT THIS TIME IT IS NOT INCLUDED IT IN. The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that on several occasions, the mounting bolt used to hold the liftgate open failed to operate as needed, causing the liftgate to slam down unintendedly. The contact stated that he replaced the mounting bolt himself; however, the failure recurred. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000. The VIN was not available.

The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that while driving at 65 MPH, the spoiler detached from the vehicle without warning. The contact stated that no cars were damaged and no one was injured due to the failure. The dealer and the manufacturer were both notified of the failure and both informed her that the failure was not covered under recall or warranty. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where the electrical tape was placed over the loose wiring that resulted from the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 106,000.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE STREET AND 1 VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME ABOUT 3 TO 4 CAR LENGTHS. THE WOMAN WAS GOING SAME SPEED, I LOOKED TO MY RIGHT TO ASSURE A DOG WAS NOT GOING TO RUN INTO THE STRRET, 2 SECONDS, AN LOOKED BACK AT ROAD AND PERSON IN FRONT HAD STOPPED, WITH NO TURN SIGNAL ON AND NO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I FIRMLY APPLIED BRAKES AND TRIED TO VEER AROUND THE CAR BUT THERE WAS NOT SUFFICIENT SPACE AND HIT THE BACK OF CAR SO HARD IT TOSSED AROUND ITEMS IN THE CAR BREAKING FRONT WINDSHIELD, KNOCKING OFF MY GLASSES. THE FORCE WAS SO HARD IT THRUST MY BODY HARD ONTO STEERING WHEEL AND LEG INTO DASH. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY FOR DRIVER OR PASSENGER. THE SEAT BELT DID NOT HOLD MY BODY TO THE SEAT. I PHONED LOCAL DEALERSHIP FOR HISTORY AND THEY REPORTED THERE HAS NEVER BEEN A RECALL ON THIS MAKE AND MODEL. I TALKED WITH INSURACE AGENT AND AN ATTORNEY AND THEY HAD NO INFORMATION OF RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE. NOW I DONT KNOW WHAT TO BELIEVE, BUT I DO KNOW SOMETHING IS WRONG AS EITHER THE AIRBAG OR SEAT BELT SHOULD HAVE PREVENTED ME FROM BEING THRUST FORWARD SO HARD TO FRACTURE MY STERNUM AND CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO LEFT KNEE. Headrest popped while sitting parked

Driverside headrest popped or deployed on it's own. No crash happened. Vehicle was parked outside my home and not in use. Had I been in the vehicle at the time, potential head trauma could have occurred such as wound, concussion or whiplash. Had I been driving the vehicle when this happened, this could have caused a crash and even more potential harm to myself, my children, passengers and other motorists. The vehicle has not been inspected but I have contact local dodge dealer who stated that there was no recall on the known issue and that the cost to "assess" the headrest would cost me $140 to diagnose and any replacement costs would be in addition to the $140. There was no warning whatsoever that this could happen. No engine lights or anything. Again, I was not driving the vehicle. It was parked in my driveway.

I HAD SIGNIFICANT OIL LEAKS IN MY DRIVEWAY FOR THE LAST FEW MONTHS. I NOTICED MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AT 105,000 MILES. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC TO GET SERVICED. THEY REPLACED TRANSMISSION FLUID (PURCHASED AT DODGE DEALERSHIP) AND SERVICED ANY OTHER AREAS. I RECEIVED THE VEHICLE BACK AND NOTICED IT WAS STILL LEAKING A GREAT AMOUNT. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE MECHANIC THINKING THE ISSUE WAS NOT SOLVED. THE MECHANIC THEN ADVISED ME THAT THERE IS AN OIL LEAK NEXT TO THE OIL COOLER AND WHEN PARKED AT AN INCLINE, IT BEGINS TO LEAK PROFUSELY. I am having starting issues, combined with stalling when it full power or even partial. I reviewed the recalls that were listed for this era vehicle. And it lines up with the fuel relay or fuse I can't remember which one it was that was happening on similar makes models and this year. I believe this should be involved in that recall, but it's not showing that it is.

YESTERDAY WHEN ATTEMPTING TO START MY DURANGO, IT TURNED OVER BUT DID NOT START. AS THIS IS THE 5TH TIME, I ALREADY KNEW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. I CHECKED THE FUSE FOR THE FUEL PUMP AND REPLACED IT. IT STARTED BACK UP FINE. ALTHOUGH THIS TIME, THIS PUT MY FAMILY AND I IN A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. WHEN DRIVING THROUGH A RAILROAD CROSSING, THE VEHICLE DIED ON ME. MOMENTS LATER THE BARRICADES CAME DOWN AND I JUMPED OUT QUICKLY TO PUSH THE VEHICLE WHILE MY WIFE AND KIDS WERE INSIDE. I MANAGED TO GET THEM OUT OF HARMS WAY BEFORE THE TRAIN ARRIVED. SO THE FIRST TIME I COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH MY DURANGO. I ATTEMPTED TO START THE DURANGO AND IT JUST KEPT TURNING BUT WOULD NOT START. AT FIRST I THOUGH IT WAS MY FUEL PUMP. THEN I LOOKED AT THE FUSE AND THE FUEL PUMP MOTOR FUSE WAS A LITTLE BROWN ON THE PIN. SO I REPLACED IT WITH THE HORN FUSE 20A AND I WHEN I TURNED IT TO THE ON POSITION I COULD HEAR THE FUEL PUMP. DURING THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED I WAS I A HURRY TO WORK. I GOT MY KIDS IN TO DROP THEM OFF AND I GOT AND AND TRIED STARTING IT. SAME THING IT JUST KEEP TURNING BUT NO START. I CHECK THE FUSE AGAIN AND THE FUSE IS REALLY BURNT BUT NOT BLOWN. SO I WAIT FOR MY WIFE TO GET HOME SO I CAN BUY ANOTHER 20A FUSE. I REPLACE THE 20A FUSE AND IT STARTS. THIRD TIME THIS HAPPENED YESTERDAY 6-30-20. I CHECKED THE FUSE AND THE FUSE STILL LOOKS GOOD. DID MY RESEARCH AND FOUND OUT PREVIOUS DODGE DURANGOS HAVE BEEN RECALLED WITH BAD PUEL PUMP RELAY SWITCH FAILURE. NOW MY DURANGO SITS OUTSIDE BECAUSE IT WONT START. BOUGHT A USED DURANGO 5 MONTHS AGO AT AN OFFICIAL DODGE DEALERSHIP IN NEW HAMPSHIRE, WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS IN GREAT CONDITION. CAME BACK TO THE SAME CAR DEALERSHIP FOR A STATE INSPECTION TO FIND OUT THAT THEY FAILED US FOR A LEAKING STEERING GEAR/RACK, CHARGING US AN OVERPRICED COST OF $1900. COME TO FIND THROUGH ANOTHER MECHANIC SHOP THAT THIS WAS NOT WORTH A FAIL AND THAT IT WAS NOT IN NEED OF AN IMMEDIATE FIX. THE DODGE DEALERSHIP MADE US FEEL PRESSURED TO GET THIS FIXED RIGHT AWAY. WHEN THE CAR IS ON AND I GO TO OPEN THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR, EVEN WITH THE KEY IN THE CAR, THE CAR BEEPS AND TELLS ME THE KEY FOB IS NOT IN THE VEHICLE. THE RACE TRACK LIGHT WAS BEGINNING TO FOG UP AND WITH TIME WE STARTED TO NOTICE THAT IT WAS FILLING UP WITH MOISTURE. IT FILLED UP TO ABOUT AND 1" AND WE MANAGED TO RELEASE THE WATER BUT PART OF THE RACE TRACK LIGHT IS BURNED OUT NOW. I STILL HAVE THE WARRANTY BUT THE DEALER SAID THAT THOSE LIGHTS ARE NOT COVERED AND THE PRICING WOULD RANGE FROM $1000-$1200 TO FIX.

The moonroof of the car spontaneously exploded as we were driving down the interstate. There was no incident that caused this...nothing struck our car, we did not go over any bumps or anything like that. There was a very loud explosion sound and the glass shattered into hundreds of pieces. Thank god we had the sunshade closed at the time. Our children were riding in the second row and would have had glass fly at them at 75 miles an hour. It was an incredibly scary incident. We looked this up and it seems to be a known problem with many cars with moonroofs, yet no one seems to be doing anything about it. This glass needs to be tempered like the windshield! We are in the process of getting it repaired at the dealership yet. They are not taking any responsibility for it being a defect and are charging us the full amount to have it replaced. $1600. I

THE BACKUP LIGHT ASSEMBLY IS THIS VEHICLE FILLS WITH WATER DURING RAIN OR CAR WASHES, SPEED IS IRELEVANT. THE WATER SHORTS OUT THE LED LIGHTS, CAUSING THEM TO FAIL. THE ASSEMBLY IS SUPPOSED TO BE WATER TIGHT, THEREFOR THERE IS NO WAY FOR THE WATER IT COLLECTS TO DRAIN. THEREFORE, THE METAL COMPONENTS OF THIS ASSEMBLY ARE ALSO BEGINNING TO RUST DUE TO THE PERSISTENT PRESENCE OF WATER. REPLACING THIS FAILED ASSEMBLY COSTS $1,300. THIS COMPONENT SHOULD CONTINUE TO BE WATER TIGHT ON WELL MAINTAINED VEHICLES, SUCH AS MINE. THIS FAILURE FEELS LIKE A FLAW IN THE DESIGN OF THE ORIGINAL PART. DODGE SHOULD REPLACE THESE FAILED ASSEMBLIES AT A MUCH MORE REASONABLE PRICE, OR FREE OF CHARGE, DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE COMPONENT IS DESIGNED TO LAST THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE, AND CERTAINLY ISN'T FOR ME AND MANY OTHERS.

TRACK LIGHTING ON THE REAR DOOR IS NOT SEALED AND WATER GETS INTO THE LIGHT HOUSING AND THE REAR CAMERA AS WELL AS THE LICENSE PLATE LIGHTS. SOME OF THE LIGHTS IN THE TRACK ARE OUT AND I HAVE TO KEEP REPLACING THE LICENSE PLATE LIGHTS. WATER IS JUST SITTING ON THE LIGHTS SO THEY BURN OUT. Sitting at drive through and driver headrest exploded and hit me in the back of the head. Thank God I was not moving at the time and my car was in park or I may have wrecked! Startled me and I was dazed and confused because I couldn’t figure out what had happened! This just happened a few hours ago so I have not been able to report it or have it checked out. I did take several pictures. There were no warnings or anything and it just happened as I was sitting there! If I had been driving, it could have been catastrophic! HELLO, I JUST PURCHASED A 2014 DODGE DURANGO LIMITED AWD W/APPROXIMATELY 30,000 MILES. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS AND ON SEPTEMBER 4/5TH NOTICE HUGE PUDDLES OF OIL IN OUR DRIVEWAY. MY WIFE ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE IT THAT MORNING, BUT HEARD WEIRD NOISES "SPUTTERING NOISES" IN HER OWN WORDS. ONCE SHE TOLD ME OF THE ISSUE, SEVERAL HOURS LATER I STARTED THE DURANGO AND HEARD SIMILAR NOISES. LOOKING UNDER THE VEHICLE I NOTICE OIL ON THE UNDER CARRIAGE OF THE CAR STRETCHING MAYBE 5 FEET IN LENGTH. I CALLED CHRYSLER ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND NOTIFIED THEM OF THE ISSUE. THEY SENT OVER A TOW AND ONCE THE DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM, THEY SAID IT WAS AN OIL COOLER LEAK. UPON READING SEVERAL FORUMS THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE.

I AM EXPERIENCING A THUMPING NOISE IN THE REAR END OF MY VEHICLE WHEN MOVING ON ANY SURFACE WITH THE SLIGHTEST IMPERFECTION. WHEN TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP TO BE CHECKED OUT THEY FOUND THAT THE REAR SHOCKS ARE CAUSING THE ABNORMAL NOISE. IN MY OWN RESEARCH ON THESE (RATHER EXPENSIVE) SHOCKS I HAVE FOUND THAT THEY SHOULD NOT BE FAILING IN UNDER 100K MILES WHICH MY VEHICLE IS UNDER AND I HAVE ALSO FOUND IN A COUPLE FORUMS THAT THEY HAVE A KNOWN DEFECT. HOWEVER CHRYSLER CLAIMS THERE IS NO SERVICE BULLETIN OR RECALL ON THEM. SEVERAL INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOPS HAVE ALSO MADE THE COMMENT THAT I SHOULD NOT BE HAVING THIS SORT OF ISSUE WITH THESE SHOCKS AND THAT I SHOULD CONTACT CHRYSLER TO SEE IF THEY WOULD COVER THEM. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP THAT I SPOKE WITH AT CHRYSLER ADVISED ME TO MAKE A COMPLAINT WITH THE NHTSA. CHRYSLER CALL REFERENCE NUMBER: 57340981. THESE PARTICULAR SHOCKS HAVE BEEN QUOTED TO ME BY THE FACTORY SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT $477.00 EACH AND ARE NOT COVERED UNDER THE 5 YEAR 100K MILE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY.

Dodge Durango Rt has developed the Evap system failure. After stopping to refuel the gas tank the engine will not restart till after several attempts and even after restarting it idles erratic and sputters even to point of a miss and shuts off. Then it will restart and slowly clear up, and operate normal till the next refuel. I've had it into several repair shops and dealerships only to have to purchase parts and pay for repair and experience the issue again. Considering it's fuel vapor related and could cause a explosive or flash fire event in the dry summer season possibly if the vapors become a large enough volume under the hood or in a closed space.

The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Durango. The contact stated while attempting to start the vehicle, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the brake pedal became firm, and the vehicle failed to start. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the buttons on the steering wheel and the display screen failed to function as needed. The dealer was made aware of the failure; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.

I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY DURING A VERY BAD RAINSTORM AT NIGHT ON JANUARY 16TH, 2019. I WAS TRAVELING AROUND 50 MPH ON THE FREEWAY, IN THE NUMBER THREE LANE, WHEN MY CAR SHUT OFF, WHERE I LOST COMPLETE POWER TO MY ENGINE. MY SPEEDOMETER DROPPED FROM 50 TO 30 MPH IMMEDIATELY, LEAVING ME WITH NO POWER, TO BARELY MAKE IT TO THE EMERGENCY LANE. NO POWER, NO BRAKE, NO STEERING-NOTHING. MY HORN WAS ALSO HONKING, MY HEADLIGHTS FLASHING, WINDSHIELD WIPERS ATTEMPTING TO MOVE BUT UNABLE TO, AND SPEAKERS MAKING WEIRD NOISES. AND TO MAKE THINGS EVEN MORE SCARY, MY 9 YEAR OLD SON WAS IN THE CAR WITH ME. THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED, AND POSSIBLY ISSUE A RECALL. I FEEL THAT I AM EXTREMELY LUCKY THAT MY SON AND MYSELF WERE NOT SEVERELY INJURED OR EVEN KILLED, WITH MY CAR SHUTTING OFF LIKE THAT WITHOUT WARNING. VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT A BOAT LAUNCH IN PREPARATION OF PUTTING BOAT ON TRAILER. CAR WAS IN PARK, ENGINE IDLING. GOT OUT OF THE CAR TO RETRIEVE BOAT WHILE PARTNER WOULD DRIVE THE CAR OUT AFTER BOAT WAS TRAILERED. WHILE PARTNER WAS ATTEMPTING TO GET BEHIND THE WHEEL, CAR SUDDENLY STARTED BACKING INTO THE LAKE UNTIL SUBMERGED. THE TRANSMISSION WAS STILL IN PARK UNTIL TOW TRUCK OPERATOR GOT INTO THE VEHICLE TO MANUALLY RELEASE TRANSMISSION IN ORDER TO TOW OUT. PROBABLY NOT REPAIRABLE.

AFTER BEING DRAGGED THROUGH THE GARAGE I ENDED UP PARTIALLY UNDER THE CAR, I LET GO OF THE CAR AND ROLLED AWAY NOT TO BE RAN OVER BY THE STILL MOVING CAR. THE CAR IS MAKING AN ANNOYING "WHINING NOISE/HUM" WHEN DRIVING. AS THE SPEED INCREASES SO DOES THE NOISE. I HAVE HAD THE 2014 DURANGO CITADEL (V6) 2 YEARS AND HAVE APPROXIMATELY 16,000 MILES ON IT. I STARTED TO NOTICE THE NOISE AROUND 12,000 MILES. THE TIRES ARE INFLATED AT THE RECOMMENDED TIRE PRESSURE AND HAVE BEEN RECENTLY ROTATED. THIS HAS HAD NO EFFECT ON THE LEVEL OF NOISE. I SPOKE TO ANOTHER OWNER OF THE DODGE 2014 DURANGO CITADEL AND HE IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. HE MENTIONED THAT ON A RECENT SERVICE AT THE DODGE DEALER THEY ASKED HIM IF HE WAS EXPERIENCING ANY NOISE IN THE DRIVE TRAIN. I WILL BE FOLLOWING UP WITH MY DEALER TOMORROW.

IT WAS BROUGHT TO THE PURCHASING DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES FOR THE EXHAUST LEAK BUT ULTIMATELY THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE THE ORIGINATION OR CAUSE; THEY ATTEMPTED A SOFTWARE UPDATE. THE DODGE DURANGO WAS BROUGHT TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP WHERE THE REAR CABIN AIR EXHAUSTERS AND LIFT GATE GROMMETS WERE REPLACED TO NO AVAIL. The third complaint is the seat belts will not retract in the front seat but the dealership requires me to pay a fee to have it assessed. The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that he was observing that an oil stain was showing on his driveway. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed and determined that the oil filter adapter housing needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. However, the contact observed that the oil leak had reoccurred. The contact had taken the vehicle back to the same mechanic who replaced the oil filter adapter housing again, however, the failure reoccurred. The contact returned to the same mechanic who advised that the adapter filter was manufactured with an aluminum housing and no longer in plastic. The contact stated that the mechanic was test-driving the vehicle after he had installed the aluminum oil filter adapter housing. The contact stated that the mechanic advised he was driving at approximately 30 MPH when the vehicle began emitting smoke. The contact was advised by the mechanic that he pulled off of the roadway, and turned the vehicle off, but was unable to open the hood due to flames. The fire department was called and they extinguished the flames. The vehicle was towed back to the mechanic's shop. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.

While driving all sensors began flashing simultaneously. I took to mechanic and a few codes turned up. One for speed messages. One for can bus and the other was U0001. Took to dealership service and they had it for a week. After charging battery all sensors were cleared. Same day driving home all sensors came back on simultaneously. Car began making noises and driving in limp mode windshield wipers turned on by themselves. Took car to Firestone to check battery. They replaced battery. Sensors were still flashing all the way home but no other problems. Next day i lost power steering and ability to brake. Nearly crashing the Durango. I eventually was able to pull wheel and get to side of road. I tried to turn off engine,, but it would not turn off nor would the shifter allow me to shift to park. I sat in idle for a few moments and turned car off. I was near my home so drove home.. very difficult to steer. Then car sensors said to push clutch in . I have an automatic. It went crazy.

Just spent $1500 for a new computer and two days later I have service airbag system. I have videos of the chaos. If this car is in an accident the airbags will not go off and passengers will be unprotected. The electrical issues in this car are beyond comprehension. Chrysler needs to take responsibility before it causes a catastrophic injury. The behavior of this vehicle is unacceptable and unsafe.

1st ALL of the interior lights won’t turn off no matter what you do. Doors all closed locked still stay on while driving can’t manually switch them off 2nd yesterday I went to pick up my daughter at school and the car all of a sudden just stopped running. It won’t start. Before it would do that and I had to exit the vehicle and use the remote start. Tried it this time and it said fob deactivated and just beeped. Then the alarm went off and wouldn’t turn off. When the alarm finally stopped the radio turned on for no reason but the car still won’t start. Fob has a new battery still won’t start. This car isn’t even old and only has 60,000 miles on it. Lucky I was pulling over and parking I could have died. Apparently this is a known issue it had to happen to me for me to find out about it. You’ll do a recall for cruise control but not this!!!’ Crazy this car is a defective death trap. It’s sitting on the curb in front of the house now since I had to have it towed home. I’m NOT driving it ever again.

JULY 14, 2019 - WHILE THE DODGE DURANGO IS IN MOTION, THE DASH DISPLAY SUDDENLY WENT BLANK, VARIOUS SENSOR LIGHTS TURNED ON, TRANSMISSION GEAR WOULD NOT SHIFT, AND THE WIPER BLADES INTERMITTENTLY TURNED ON. SIMILARLY PROBLEM WAS EXPERIENCED IN MAY 2019, WHEN THE REPAIR SHOP IDENTIFIED AND REPLACED A FAULTY BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE). I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL DODGE DEALERSHIP ABOUT A MONTH ( JUNE 2019), FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AND THE DEALERSHIP IDENTIFIED THE WIRING HARNESS TO BE FAULTY. AFTER SOME DIAGNOSIS, THE DEALERSHIP RESET THE CODES, ASKED ME TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE SOME MORE TO SEE IF THE PROBLEM REOCCURS. IT HAS BEEN A MONTH SINCE I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE PROBLEM HAS REOCCURED SEVERAL TIMES. I FEEL THIS IS A REAL SAFETY ISSUES ESPECIALLY WHEN I HAVE MY KIDS IN THE CAR AND THE ELECTRICAL ISSUES ARISES WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. WE CHANGED BOTH HUBS AT OUR OWN EXPENSE AND PROBLEM FIXED. BUSHING WAS MAKING HORRENDOUS NOISE AND ALSO DISMISSED BY DEALERSHIP. CHANGED THAT ON OUR OWN EXPENSE AND ISSUE SOLVED. ALTERNATOR WAS SUPPOSEDLY CHANGED DUE TO RECALL BY DEALERSHIP & AFTER INSPECTING IT, WE HAVE BOTH AGREED THAT THE ALTERNATOR HASN'T BEEN TOUCHED. BOLTS SHOW NO SIGNS OF ANY TYPE OF TORQUE AND ALTERNATOR IS DUSTY AND DIRTY AS IS THE REST OF THE COMPONENTS IN ENGINE BAY WHICH ALSO LEAD US TO THE CONCLUSION. ATTEMPTS TO REPAIR THIS AND OR FIND THE CAUSE AT THE DODGE AUTONATION DEALER LOCATED AT 21027 I-45 NORTH, SPRING, TX 77388 (877-791-6569) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED MET WITH A DECLINED REPAIR DUE TO THE DAMAGE WAS LISTED AS "TRIM". AT THE TIME THE AHR DEPLOYED A PASSENGER WAS IN THE SEAT AT THE TIME BUT WAS NOT INJURED DUE TO THE "TETHERS" HELD THE FRONT FACE OF THE HEAD REST FROM PROJECTING OUTWARD/FORWARD. I WAS NOTIFIED BY THE SERVICE DIRECTOR AT THE DODGE DEALER FRANKIE FREEZE THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE AND HE HAS PERSONALLY SEEN THIS TYPE OF DEPLOYMENT WITHOUT CAUSE. IN THE SERVICE MANUAL IN THE EVENT THE AHR DEPLOYS THERE IS A "RESET" PROCESS. DUE TO THE HIGH VELOCITY OF THE HEAD REST DEPLOYMENT THE UNIT ITSELF WAS DAMAGED TO INCLUDE THE HEAD REST COVER AND WAS NOT ABLE TO BE "RESET". NO VISIBLE DAMAGE IS APPARENT TO THE VEHICLE ITSELF (CRASH), AND NO VISIBLE CODES OR WARNING LIGHT (I.E. AIRBAG LIGHT) ARE DISPLAYED. AT THIS TIME I HAVE DISPUTED THE CLAIM BY DODGE THAT THIS IS A "TRIM" ISSUE AND THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT CAN NOT DETERMINE WHY THE HEAD REST DEPLOYED AND REFERRED THE ISSUE AND DEPLOYMENT TO A INVESTIGATOR. I SUSPECT BUT HAVE NO EVIDENCE OF THE DEPLOYMENT OF THE HEAD REST WAS CAUSED BY THE RIGHT REAR REAR PASSENGER OPENING THE FACTORY INSTALLED VIDEO SYSTEM INSTALLED IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT (REAR ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM). IT IS POSSIBLE THE BACK OF THE FLIP OPEN MONITOR PLASTIC SHROUD STRUCK THE BACK OF THE HEAD REST WHEN OPENED CAUSING IT TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION IN NORMAL TRAFFIC CONDITIONS AT NIGHT WITH LITTLE TO NO LIGHTING IN THE VEHICLE. A DISTINCT AND LOUD POP WAS HEARD FROM THE SEAT.

THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED ABOUT 4 MONTHS AGO. I WAS AT THE POST OFFICE DROPPING OFF MAIL OUTSIDE IN THE MAILBOX IN MY CAR. I DROPPED A PIECE OF MAIL ON THE GROUND. I PUT MY CAR IN PARK AND GOT OUT OF MY CAR. MY CAR BEGAN TO ROLL FORWARD, I WAS ABLE TO GET IN AND PLACE MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. MY DOOR HIT THE MAILBOX. LATER I WENT TO THE DEALER TO GET A QUOTE TO FIX MY DOOR AND TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED. THEY SAID I MUST HAVE NEVER PUT IT IN PARK. THEY WANTED $1000 TO FIX A LITTLE SCRATCH AND DENT ON THE DOOR. TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 DODGE DURANGO. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN PARK, IT CONTINUED TO ROLL FORWARD. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE SHIFTER WAS STILL IN PARK. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE RIGHT EYEBROW, RIGHT EYE, RIGHT WRIST, ELBOW, KNEE, AND FOREHEAD. WHEN TURNING ON THE TURN SIGNAL INDICATER THE WIND SHIELD WIPERS COME ON EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE IN THE OFF POSITION. ONCE THEY COME ON THEY CONTINUE TO RUN. ON OCCASION THEY WILL TURN OFF WHEN RUNNING THROUGH A VARIETY OF OPTIONS ON THE SAME STICK SUCH AS FLASHING THE BRIGHT LIGHT (PULL IN THE STICK) OR TURNING ON THE SIGNAL AGAIN IN THE OTHER DIRETION. THERE IS NO RHYME OR REASON TO ANY OF IT. THIS PAST WEEKEND I PRESSED THE BUTTON TO START AND THE WIPERS WENT ON EVEN THOUGH THE INDICATOR IS IN THE OFF POSITION. THEN SUDDENLY THE RADIO WENT ON EVEN THOUGH WE DID NOT TURN IT ON AND THIS CAUSED THE WIPERS TO STOP. PURCHASED VEHICLE 31 DECEMBER 2013. ACTUALLY GOT VEHICLE ABOUT SIX DAYS LATER. ON 22 JANUARY 2014, I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AT THE END OF MY DRIVEWAY SO I COULD CHECK THE MAIL. WHILE WALKING BACK TO THE VEHICLE FORM THE MAILBOX, THE VEHICLE STARTING BACKING UP A HILL ON ITS OWN. I HAD TO RUN NEXT TO THE VEHICLE, HANGING PARTIALLY INSIDE THE CAB, TO ATTEMPT TO SHUT OFF VEHICLE. VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHUT OFF. I HAD TO PUSH DOWN EMERGENCY BRAKE WITH MY HAND IN ORDER TO GET VEHICLE TO STOP. VEHICLE ALSO HAS USED ACTIVE BRAKING FEATURE AND THE ACTIVE BRAKING ALARM HAS SOUNDED TO INFORM ME THAT I WAS TOO CLOSE TO A VEHICLE, THOUGH THERE WAS NO VEHICLE IN SITE (THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES). VEHICLE RANDOMLY STARTS ON IT OWN. VEHICLE ALSO REMOTE STARTS ON ITS OWN. SOMETIMES THE VEHICLE STATES IT IS NOT IN PARK WHEN IT CLEARLY IS IN PARK. CHRYSLER HAS SENT AN INSPECTOR TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE, AND HE FOUND NOTHING. THIS VEHICLE HAS SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUES. WHILE DRIVING AFTER LEAVING A STORE, THE VEHICLE SOUNDED A WARNING CHIME AND THEN ALL OF THE ELECTRICAL DISPLAYS ON THE DASH WENT DARK. THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTED INTO WHAT SEEMED 4TH GEAR FROM 8TH GEAR AND SUDDEN DECELERATION WAS NORED. THE WINDSHIELD WIPER TURNED ON AND THE CENTER RADIO/CLIMATE DISPLAY WOULD FLASH ON AND OFF. THE BRIEF MESSAGE THAT WAS DISPLAYED ON THE DASH BEFORE IT WENT OUT SAID SOMETHING TO THE EFFECT OF, "DO NOT CHANGE GEAR, DO NOT TURN OFF VEHICLE, DRIVE DIRECTLY TO DESTINATION, BY TURNING CAR OFF YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO START IT AGAIN". WE DROVE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC WHERE THEY FOUND SEVERAL COMPUTER FAULTS. THE DEALER HAD THE VEHICLE A TOTAL OF 11 DAYS AND CHANGED THE BODY CONTROL MODULE. WE GOT THE VEHICLE BACK AND THREE DAYS LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. WORRIED THAT IF THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE AT SPEED, THERE COULD BE A POSSIBLE LOSS OF CONTROL WITH THE SUDDEN DOWNSHIFT. *TR
