Front right turn signal went out after three years and I’m told I need to replace the entire light which is 1400 by itself. These led lights are supposed to last a long time.

This is a fairly new SUV and front turn signals are out. This puts me in danger of having to turn and other drivers not aware. It is not a simple bulb fix. All have to be removed. This was confirmed by a couple of independent mechanics. Vehicle has not been inspected by manufacturer. No warning lamps or messages prior to issue.

Drivers DRL failed within 3 yrs. This is LED and supposed to last 10-15 yrs. Extended bumper to bumper warranty won’t cover. It’s nearly 2k to fix. Risk is less visibility during daytime to other drivers. Is this led bulb, electrical, fuse, ballast? No one seems to know. 2 dealerships say have to replace entire headlight system for nearly 2k!!!

The contact owns a 2023 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that upon shifting into reverse, the vehicle failed to respond with the message “Service Shifter” displayed. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact shifted the gear shifter between neutral and reverse until the vehicle responded as needed. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power. There was no warning light illuminated. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact was informed that the VIN was not under recall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 55,000.

This is about our 8th, of a fleet of 14 Police Durangos, all 2021-2024 to have the oil filter housings have failed, causing engine oil and coolant to mix, making the car inoperable. This has been brought to the attention of Dodge, and they have told me it is a very common problem, yet we have no recalls yet and this is on agencies, and i assume personal vehicle owners too to repair. We just had another car, ill write up next, that had the same failure, causing engine to blow while headed to a priority call. This is an known problem and Stellantis needs to be held responsible for past repair costs, and a full recall of all faulty parts.

SERVICE BRAKES

Complete brake failure when stopping for a red light. This caused the vehicle to rear end a Jeep stopped at the light. Brake pedal went completely to the floor. This was verified by the investigating State Trooper, who started the Durango and checked the brakes, they went all the way to the floor as indicated in his report.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
1 complaint
After purchasing a used 2023 Dodge Durango GT, issues arose almost immediately following delivery. I took the vehicle to a Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/Ram (CJDR) dealership for inspection and service. Diagnostic scans revealed multiple stored and active fault codes, including but not limited to: U0415 / U0401 – Implausible or invalid data received from ABS / ECM / PCM B195F-12 – Power liftgate chime control circuit short to battery B15A1-00 – Active electrical fault Multiple body control, module communication, and liftgate-related fault codes The vehicle experienced intermittent starting failures, creating safety concerns including: Potential inability to move the vehicle when needed, including in traffic Risk of being stranded in unsafe locations Uncertainty regarding whether the vehicle would reliably restart after being shut off The vehicle was removed from service and sent to an authorized Dodge dealership for further diagnosis and repair. The manufacturer/dealer elected to replace a fuel line as part of the repair process to address the starting hesitation. The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized Dodge service department. No police or insurance inspections have occurred. Symptoms occurred intermittently and without consistent warning lights, including: Delayed or hesitant engine starting Requirement to press the brake pedal firmly in order to start the vehicle Intermittent electrical system fault codes retrieved during diagnostics Symptoms first appeared almost immediately after vehicle delivery. The vehicle has a documented history of multiple electrical communication faults, including body control and power liftgate chime control circuits. The selling dealer (Westside Hyundai) was unable to retrieve these fault codes, resulting in the vehicle being out of service and pairs being coordinated at their expense. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

POWER TRAIN
1 complaint
Three times now I have a service transmission and it won’t shift but then when taken to dealer they state no codes pop up but I show them a video of what happens each time the dealership says bring it back. First time no codes- no fix, The second time they exchanged the transmission brain and 3 months later the third time and still nothing fixed due to no codes and nothing happened when they drove the car. Something is going on for it to service transmission light to come on and then not shift 3 times now within 6 months. Mileage is under 32,000. Regular maintained with oil changes and tires.

I am submitting this complaint regarding recurring safety-related defects on my 2023 Dodge Durango RT. 1.Uconnect Failure: The Uconnect infotainment/communication box has repeatedly failed, causing loss of access to critical vehicle functions. These failures affect visibility of system warnings, navigation, and driver settings, creating distraction and limiting awareness. 2.Driver-Side Daytime Running Light (DRL) Failure: At just 40,000 miles, the driver-side DRL failed. This significantly reduces vehicle visibility to other drivers during the day, creating a safety hazard. What raises my concern further is that I have personally identified at well over 10 other Dodge Durangos in my local area experiencing the same daytime running light issue. This strongly suggests a widespread defect. Both failures directly impact vehicle safety. The Uconnect issue undermines system reliability, while the DRL defect reduces daytime visibility, increasing the risk of accidents. I request that this issue be investigated as a systemic defect requiring corrective action. Dodge owners should not have to repeatedly pay for repairs on essential safety features. Thank you for your time and attention.

AIR BAGS,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
1 complaint
A light was coming on and off shortly after my husband and I purchase the vehicle from Landers in covington tn. On 10/24/24 I showed the manger of store AJ. And he advise me to make sure I address this with the service department. Misty was the lady that did my oil change and tire rotation that day. I showed her the picture, she couldn't tell me what it meant, but she started that it was probably a dirty sensor. My husband was involved in a car accident on [XXX]. He left the road way due to a deer striking a light pole. Our biggest concern is when he first hit a driveway culvert the emergency breaking did not engage and after striking the light pole. Not one air bag deploy, which could have resulted in less injuries to him. And this is the 2nd crash this vehicle has been in. The first one is when I struck a deer head on. And again the emergency braking did not engage. And from the body shop that repaired that I quote " the air bags should have deployed since you hit the deer head on" INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

WHEELS

Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Willoughby, Ohio. I traded in my 2022 Ram 1500 V8 HEMI Midnight Edition, which was in mint condition with only 8,800 miles, because I needed a vehicle with more space after the birth of my child. I chose a Dodge Durango GT Premium, effectively trading down, and I expected not to come out of pocket for anything. While I was willing to cover the taxes, I did not expect any further expenses—especially not for basic safety or cosmetic issues. Right after leaving the lot, I noticed that all four tires on the Durango were severely worn, and one had a deep cut, making it a legitimate safety hazard that could result in a blowout. I immediately returned and showed the salesman, who refused to replace the tire, even the damaged one, instead offering new tires at what they claimed was “dealer cost”—$271 per tire. However, I quickly found the exact same tires available from major retailers like Walmart and Amazon for $198–$226, proving that the dealership was not being transparent about their pricing. In addition to the tire issue, I also noticed numerous paint chips all over the front end of the Durango while I was still at the dealership. At first glance, I assumed they were just dead bugs. It wasn’t until I took a closer look that I realized the paint was chipped in many spots. Rather than offering to fix it or even acknowledge the issue, I had to ask for a paint chip marker myself. They never offered to repaint the area or do anything beyond handing me the pen. This is a vehicle I had just agreed to purchase, and this level of poor presentation and lack of attention to detail is unacceptable

That slow speeds when you back up or pull forward and the wheels hit a little bit of resistance, everything goes off on the vehicle, wipers do not work, says the adaptive traction control needs service, it says emergency braking service goes out, turn signals do not work, we have been to Dodge. They say they know about this, but there’s no recalls and they tell us they cannot fix it unless it has an active code and as soon as you cut it off, apparently it’s not an active code, although they’re still stored in the system we have a video of showing what happens when it does it Sometimes when we just start the car, it will not even go into gear and every hazard light pops up on the dashboard, again wipers will not work, will not go into gear says the traction control is not working. Breaking system is not working, etc.. I tried uploading the video, but it will not allow a video upload While traveling at speed, the speedometer says you’re running 0 mph, you can’t even tell how fast you’re going

The contact leased a 2023 Dodge Durango. The contact stated while driving 25-30 MPH with his children in the rear seats, the vehicle lost electrical power and stopped abruptly. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle failed to restart, and the doors were locked. The contact was able to manually lift the door latch lifter pin and exited the vehicle with his children. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the C10 power wiring through the PDC was loose. The dealer informed the contact that the failure was a manufacturing defect. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 1,000.

FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE
1 complaint
The contact owns a 2023 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that fuel started to pour out of the vehicle while refueling the vehicle. The contact stated that the fuel tank was not yet filled prior to the failure. The following day, the vehicle was driven to the dealer and inspected. The contact stated that based on the preliminary inspection, there was no fault found. The contact then drove the vehicle back to the gas station with the service tech. While at the gas station, the contact was unable to duplicate the failure, and was informed to monitor the vehicle and to return to the dealer should the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000.
