I am filing a complaint regarding a serious safety defect in the 2014-2023 Dodge Durango racetrack taillight assembly. The taillight allows moisture intrusion, leading to electrical failures, overheating, and potential fire hazards. This issue is the subject of a class action lawsuit [XXX] , et al., v. FCA US LLC), yet Dodge has not taken action. Key Safety Concerns: Fire Hazard: Electrical shorts and melted wiring have been reported. Safety Risk: Flickering or failed brake lights and turn signals increase the risk of accidents. Financial Burden: Replacement costs exceed $1,800, and vehicles cannot pass state inspections with a failed taillight. Widespread Issue: The defect affects multiple model years, indicating a manufacturer defect rather than wear and tear. The class action lawsuit highlights Dodge’s failure to address this safety issue despite numerous complaints. A jury trial is set for January 2027, but owners should not have to wait years for resolution. I urge the NHTSA to investigate this issue and require Dodge to issue a recall to fix or replace defective taillights at no cost to owners. Please provide an update on this complaint. Rear gasket on tail light assembly is faulty and causes water to leak in to rear running light and the light fails and doesn't work anymore. I'm requesting an investigation or recall on the rear assembly to have them fixed or replaced for safety and uniformity. The OEM part number is 68453659AA

The racetrack style light on the back of my vehicle has water buildup on the inside. It has started to burn out the light. The unit is still partially functional so it's not available for inspection. The left license plate light on my vehicle doesn't function due to the corrosion inside the connector as well. This is a safety risk due to other driver not being able to see my Vehicle clearly during night or other conditions. There were no warning indicators on the dash about this issue. The Vehicle has not been inspected by anyone other than myself.

The rear back light in my dodge Durango went out on it own and I've seen multiple Durango with the same issue . I’ve attached example . Ive seen multiple cars with this same issue so there has be manufacturers issue

The driver's side head rest deployed while I was driving on the highway without any collision and struck me in the back of the head hard. I did experience some whiplash symptoms for a few days as was confirmed by my chiropractor doctor. Post inspection revealed the plastic retaining brackets failed and the spring force released and deployed the headrest. I contacted Chrysler customer care (reference case #94643848) and was told my vehicle was just past the 10 year warranty period by 3 months and they would not cover the replacement cost. The replacement would be nice but what about the safety aspect? Why wasn't this a mandatory recall? Like the air bags issue years ago.

Both headrests in front seat deployed while driving causing neck pain and almost caused an accident. I was driving on the highway and it popped and hit my head forcing my head forward and me losing focus. No warning signs. Looked up the issue and it seems to be a known issue for the vehicle. Have not taken to the dealer as I do not have the money to replace them.

Walked out to my car and noticed that my passenger seat headrest had deployed and I am not able to get it to reset back into place. The car was not involved in an accident and hasn’t been driven for several days, this just happened on its own. I’m thankful I wasn’t driving and it didn’t happen to the driver seat and even more thankful that it didn’t happen with a passenger in that seat.

The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Durango. The contact stated while driving approximately 15 MPH, the contact heard an abnormal banging sound coming from the vehicle. The contact stated that the passenger in the front passenger’s seat had been struck in the back of the head by the head rest. There was no injury reported. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the head rest padding had separated from the head rest enclosure. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the Dynamic Head Restraint had deployed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 107,653.

Im again reporting the racetrack tail lights. Im seeing a lot more water intrusion in dodge durangos of many years. We want answers! This needs to be investigated stat! Consumers should not have to pay $1800 for failure on dodges part! They know this is an issue with many years of these durangos. There is already a class action lawsuit against them for this issue. Please investigate this! We want answers....

The rear LED license plate lights are corroded and need replacing. One does not work.

Sections of LED brake light/race track light has stopped working due to water intrusion in rear panel. Back panel is not secured properly, allowing water to enter, corrode the harness and lights to fail. Due to this, the license plate harness & connectors are corroded as well. Replacing the tag lights will not fix the problem, you must replace the whole wiring harness for it to work again. The wiring harness is sold as one piece now by manufacturer due to this KNOWN issue, costing $600-$1000 to purchase and install. Manufacturer has stopped selling just the plate light plugs because they know the common issue with water damage, light failure and corrosion. The license plate lights are required by law to be working. Owners cannot continue replacing every year due to the manufacturers inadequate design. This impacts drivers with safety and on a legal level from law enforcement. There were no warning signals on my dash of this issue. Law enforcement has pulled me over for this issue and recommended speaking with the manufacturer.

The rear 'race track' tail lights fail to light or are dim in lower sections of the assembly installed on the rear tailgate. Water enters the assembly over time and collects in the lower sections of the assembly causing the installed LED's and circuitry in those sections to fail. This repair is not covered by the extended warranty and would cost drivers approx 800 to install a replacement which would also leak.

The contact's daughter owns a 2015 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that the middle rear taillight, known as the racetrack light, frequently burned out due to moisture entering the brake light housing. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer where the light had been replaced; however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was no longer covered under warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

While driving to the store (with my son in the front passenger seat) all of a sudden, and for no apparent reason, the front passenger seat headrest popped (came forwards) striking him in the back of the head with substantial force stun him temporarily. The startled me. He had a headache for a couple hours afterwards.

The rear bolt which holds the automatic lift for the rear hatch broke off and is stripped. The trunk door is no longer being supported by the arm and is quite heavy. Every mechanic is unable to address the issue and this seems to be very common among this model of the car. The broken bolt is flushed against the frame of the vehicle. The rear taillights are taking in water and causing the lights to go out. This appears to be a systemic issue with Dodge Durango's as based on the fact of the high number people indicating the same issue on Dodge Durango Facebook pages.

The contact's fiancé owns a 2015 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that upon start of the vehicle, the front, passenger side headrest air bag deployed without impact. The contact stated that the air bag hit the contact's fiancé in the neck. The contact's fiancé had suffered from neck pain as a result of the incident, but did not seek medical assistance. The dealer was notified of the failure, and the contact was informed that there were no recalls on the vehicle. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and was given the same information as the dealer. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000. The VIN was not available.

The active headrest failed. It is a safety issue due to it failing out of nowhere with no signs of an issue. It broke free and pushed my head forward aggressively causing neck pain. I am a licensed mechanic and verified the cause of failure.

Passenger Occupant Detection system is faulty. Airbag service system indicator light comes and goes. The vehicle has been seen by an independent service center and they say this is a common issue with dodge and thus issue should be covered by dodge.

Transmission, 845RE, showed moist casing and oil pan. Inspected and removed transmission to discover a stress fracture in top housing/casing of the transmission. Unable to repair or replace due to no replacements available through any supply source.

The transmission shifts extremely hard from 1st to 2nd gear so hard it feels like you've been hit from behind. The jerk is so extreme I believe it could cause an accident. It is unsafe for dodge to leave this a problem. The problem is very well known a simple Google search shows there is alot of people with this problem. It also shifts hard from 6 to 5th gear and 4th to 3rd and 3rd to 2nd gear not as extreme as 1st to 2nd but hard enough to say wtf was that. I've had it looked at twice and they always claim to not feel it which is more of we don't want to do the warranty work. The technician even said dodge doesn't want to do anything unless the transmission is just inoperable. This is horrible to deal with and something needs to be done asap.

We were entering a highway from an on ramp and the car would not accelerate. We were almost hit from behind because of it. We took the car in to have it looked at and it is a faulty TIPM "totally integrated power module". There were issues with previous years models of Dodge Durangos with the same issue and I believe that recall should extend to newer years. From what I researched: The TIPM lawsuit alleges Chrysler sold and leased model year 2011-2013 Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs equipped with defective "totally integrated power modules, which allegedly cause a variety of electrical problems including non-starting, stalling and fuel pump problems. The plaintiffs claim Dodge and Jeep owners have spent a small fortune on unneeded repairs for batteries, fuel pumps and other car parts, all while the real trouble was caused by defective TIPMs.

My Durango was sitting for 2days and caught on fire.Started in the rear back of the truck on the passenger side. Fire Dept said it was Electrical and 10,000 dollars of damage.

The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the contact returned to the vehicle to retrieve a work bag from the trunk. The contact noticed that there was smoke inside the vehicle, and flames were coming from underneath the front passenger's side seat. The contact was able to extinguish the fire with his breath, hand, and a cloth; however, the smoke persisted. The fire department was contacted and arrived at the scene. The fire department confirmed that the fire originated from the battery. No police report or fire department report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an autobody repair shop by the insurance company for an estimate of the repair. The contact sustained smoke inhalation but had not yet received medical assistance. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 154,000.

The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the inadvertently lost motive power. The contact was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway; however, the vehicle failed to restart. After a visual inspection of the engine compartment the contact observed that the F70 Fuel Pump fuse was blown. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who diagnosed failures with the fuel pump and fuel pump auxiliary power relay. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V115000 (Electrical System); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

1. Oil cap/oil cooler reservoir leaking oil and antifreeze on engine. I will be replacing soon and will keep defective part for your review. 2. Safety concern is that due to oil and coolant can pool up on top of engine, the liquids could catch on fire. This create high safety risk to my family and other people that may try to put out fire. 3. The leaking issue is well known to dealers and repair shops. Many on line leak issue noted. The original oil cooler reservoir base is made of plastic. Since the cooler is sitting right on top of pentastar 3.6 engine, the plastic base is exposed to severe heat and heat/temp cycles. The suspect cause of leaks points to plastic base warping creating seal leaks or stress cracks in housing. Part should be more a robust material like aluminum. 4. Leak was found recently April 17, 2024, by service tech during oil change. No oil or temp lights came on. Has not been reviewed by police, manuf, insurance. Cost to repair $800 to $1200.

I cannot buckle in my driver side seatbelt. I contacted the dealership I bought my car from and they said 361 parts have been ordered nationwide and no one is receiving the seat belt buckle part.

The passengers seatbelt no longer retracts . Have to pay OOP to get it replaced seat was barely used and had my 17 year old sit in the seat who is lengthy and skinny the seatbelt no longer will go back in…. Not happy this should be included in the recall.

Engine cranks without starting. Could be related to recall done up to 2013 on Fuel pump relays. This has been ongoing for months.

Vehicle will not starts (even though it cranks). The problem as with previous model year Durangos is the Fuel Pump Relay (FPR) inside the Total Integrated Power Module (TIPM). On previous model year Durangos (2011-2013) they have been recalled because if the fuel pump power supply is cut when the vehicle is in motion it could cause an accident. Luckily this condition has not happened to me. Sometimes the vehicle do start and if I use it it has not turned off by itself up to now. The TIPMs were redesigned on 2014-2015 but the fuel pump relay problem carries on. Please have FCA recall these vehicles as well with the FPR inside the TIPM failing. Thank you.

Vehicle came to an abrupt stop on road. I was unable to get my vehicle into neutral or drive to safely move my vehicle to the side of the road. After several failed attempts to restart my vehicle, a tow truck company had to tow my vehicle. My Fuel pump was bad and had to be replaced. A mechanic told me it is rare for a fuel pump to go bad in a vehicle with less than 100,000 miles on it.

EVAP SYSTEM IS SHOWING LEAK AND I HAVE NOTICED OTHER RECALLS OVER THE YEARS FOR THIS SAME INCIDENT BUT NOT YET FOR YEAR 2015. SHOWING LOSE CHARCOAL IN SYSTEM IS WHAT THEY OTHER RECALL SHOW. THIS HAPPENED PRIOR TO 100,000 MILES AND DODGE STATED IT WAS NOT COVERED BY POWER TRAIN WARRANTY.

STARTED WALKING TO THE GARAGE AND NOTICED CAR STARTED MOVING FORWARD. OPENED THE DOOR AND JUMPED IN THE CAR TO STOP IT. DID NOT GET INTO CAR IN TIME AND CAR RAN INTO THE GARAGE WITH THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF CAR. CAR HAS SCRATCHES, DENTS, AND PAINT CHIPPING AND PEELING. FROM HITTING GARAGE. GARAGE WAS PUSHED BACK AT IMPACT SITE BY ABOUT 2 OR 3 INCHES.

The rear led license plates light obtain moisture corroding the electrical as do the racetrack rear light and go out. I have replaced the 2 rear license plat light assemblies and have gone again again causing myself to receive a traffic citation and attorney fee's due to this defect that thousands of other people are filing complaints about. All of the rear body lighting needs to be recalled and reimbursed for these expenses. The license plate led light(2) are not cheap from the dealer. I have also now received a traffic citation for the brake lighting not properly working on the race track lighting so I will be filing this as a legal matter with the courts to be reimbursed A police report was done as I was ticketed for both on 2 different occasions.

DODGE "RACETRACK LIGHTING" HAS CRACKS AT UPPER LEFT AND UPPER RIGHT CORNERS. CAUSING WATER TO ENTER HOUSING AND SHORT OUT A SECTION OF LIGHTS. THANKFULLY IT HAS NOT CAUGHT FIRE. I SEE THE SAME SECTION OF LIGHTS OUT ON OTHER DODGE DURANGOS. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THE "CRACK" WAS CAUSED BY ME AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT AND THE COST WOULD COME OUT OF MY POCKET. WHEN INSPECTED THE CRACKS ARE UNIFORM IN SHAPE AND SIZE.

ON 1/19/2019, I WENT TO BRAKE WHILE DRIVING MY DODGE DURANGO, AND THE CAR VIOLENTLY SHOOK, MADE A REVVING NOISE, AND ACCELERATED. MY FOOT WAS TO THE FLOOR AND THE CAR WOULD NOT STOP. A CASE WAS OPENED WITH FIAT CHRYSLER CORPORATE OFFICE THE DATE OF THE ACCIDENT. A 3RD PARTY COMPANY WAS HIRED TO INVESTIGATE THE VEHICLE AND PULL DATE OFF OF THE ELECTRONIC DATA RECORD. THAT REPORT WAS FORWARDED TO FCA FOR REVIEW ON 1/26/2019. TO DATE, NO ONE FROM FCA HAS CONTACTED ME REGARDING THE STATUS OF MY CASE. I CALL DAILY ONLY TO BE TOLD I WILL RECEIVE A PHONE CALL FROM SOMEONE, WHICH HAS YET TO HAPPEN. NO NAME, NUMBER, OR CONTACT INFORMATION HAS BEEN GIVEN TO ME. I WAS TOLD A LETTER WAS MAILED OUT TO ME FROM THE LEGAL DEPARTMENT WITH FCA ON 2/6/2019. TO DATE, NO LETTER HAS ARRIVED, AND WHEN I ASKED CORPORATE FOR INFORMATION ON WHO SENT THE LETTER, I AM NOT PROVIDED A NAME OR NUMBER OF ANYONE I CAN VERBALLY SPEAK WITH. I WAS ALSO TOLD SEVERAL VOICEMAIL MESSAGES HAVE BEEN LEFT FOR ME, BUT WHEN THE REPRESENTATIVE WENT TO CONFIRM MY PHONE NUMBER, THEY ADMITTED THEY HAD NO PHONE NUMBER ON FILE FOR ME - SO HOW COULD A VOICEMAIL MESSAGE BE LEFT? THIS ACCIDENT OCCURRED IN FRONT OF AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, DURING SCHOOL DROP OFF. THE OUTCOME COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE, AND THE FACT THAT NO ONE FROM A LARGE CORPORATION IS COMMUNICATING WITH ME IS APPALLING. I STARTED TO PROCEED DOWN THE STREET AND THE ACCELERATOR APPEARED TO STICK AND THE ENGINE STARTED RACING AND I DID NOT HAVE ANY CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE SPEED. ALSO THE RPM GAUGE WAS OUT OF CONTROL. THIS LAST APPROXIMATELY FIVE TO TEN SECONDS, AND THEN THE ENGINE STOPPED RACING, AND RETURNED TO NORMAL. REAR SHOCK MOUNTS ARE DEFECTIVE. I ASSUME THIS TO BE A DESIGN FLAW. THIS RESULTS IN POOR TIRE WEAR AS THE UPPER PART OF THE SHOCK "WIGGLES" IN THE MOUNT. THIS ALSO AFFECTS THE DRIVABILITY AND REACTION OF THE VEHICLE WHILE TAKING DEFENSIVE DRIVING ACTIONS. DODGE IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AS YOU CAN NO LONGER BUY THIS MOUNT AND YOU HAVE TO BUY THE ENTIRE SHOCK WITH MOUNT ATTACHED. THIS ISSUE WAS DISCOVERED UPON CHANGING THE SHOCKS. THIS HAS BEEN THE CLUNKING NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE WHEN GOING OVER SMALL BUMP IN THE TERRAIN.

WHILE DRIVING MY 2015 DODGE DURANGO I NOTICED A RATTLING NOISE COMING FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR WHEEL WELL. THIS WOULD HAPPEN WHENEVER ENCOUNTERING EVEN THE SMALLEST IMPERFECTIONS IN THE ROAD. THIS WAS ALSO ACCOMPANIED BY A FEELING OF THE REAR END OF THE CAR NOT FEELING INTACT WITH THE REST OF THE VEHICLE. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IF A POTHOLE OR ANY UNEVEN SECTION OF ROAD WAS DRIVEN OVER THIS DISCONNECTED FEELING WAS MAGNIFIED. IT FELT AS IF THE VEHICLE WOULD LOSE CONTROL AT TIMES DUE TO THIS ACTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DODGE DEALER WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED THE REAR STRUT WAS LEAKING, THEY WERE UNABLE TO FIX THIS ISSUE DUE TO THIS PART BEING BACK ORDERED. THE PARTS DEPARTMENT SAID THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE PARTS WOULD COME IN DUE TO THE INCREDIBLY HIGH ORDER VOLUME. THIS LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THAT THERE IS A MATERIAL DEFECT IN ALL STRUTS USED IN SIMILAR CHRYSLER, DODGE, JEEP, AND RAM VEHICLES.

WHEN I GOT OUT OF THE CAR, BECAUSE I FORGOT TO TURN THE TRANSMISSION DIAL TO PARK, THE CAR BEGAN TO ROLL AWAY WITH MY WIFE AND CHILDREN STILL IN THE VEHICLE. UNLIKE ALL OTHER CARS I HAVE HAD THAT HAD ELECTRONIC TRANSMISSIONS WHICH PUT THE CAR IN PARK IF YOU TURN THEM OFF AND/OR OPEN THE DOOR WHEN THE CAR IS NOT MOVING, THE DURING WILL SIMPLY DRIVE OFF IN THE DIRECTION ITS IS AIMED. THIS CAR NEEDS TO PUT ITSELF INTO PARK IN THESE SITUATIONS. I HAVE A BMW THAT WILL NOT/CANNOT DRIVE AWAY LIKE THIS. IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS!!!! THE RADIO DISPLAY ITSELF HAS A MIND OF IT'S OWN, THIS IS HOW YOU OPERATE MOST OF THE VEHICLES CLIMATE FUNCTIONS, BACK UP CAMERA, NAVIGATION AND RADIO. WHEN THE VEHICLE COMES ON, IT IS SUPPOSED TO TURN ON. HOWEVER MORE OFTEN THAN NOT, IT CHOOSES TO BE OFF, AND I HAVE TO WAIT FOR IT TO DECIDE TO TURN ON. IF I DO NOT HAVE THE A/C KNOW TURNED OFF WHEN IT DOES THIS, BOTH MY FRONT AND REAR DEFROSTERS WILL TURN ON FULL BLAST UNTIL THE DISPLAY CHOOSES TO OPERATE PROPERLY. LASTLY WE NOTICED THAT THERE ARE MULTIPLE INDICATORS ON THE DASHBOARD THAT ARE DISPLAYED INDICATING A FAILURE SOMEWHERE. ONE OF THE INDICATORS RELATES TO AN AIRBAG.THE VEHICLE IS ONLY A FEW YEARS OLD. ACCORDING TO MANY FORUMS AND REPORTS ONLINE THIS IS A RECURRING DODGE ISSUE THAT THEY FAIL TO FIX YEAR AFTER YEAR. Goodyear Fortera HL, M&S 265 / 50R 20, tread separated from driver side rear tire, [XXX] at 11:15am, while driving speed limit on [XXX] . The tire was not flat (see photos), but the tread was completely gone and I was riding on steel belts. Extensive damage was done to the left rear quarter of the vehicle, and underneath the wheel well. Estimate over $3,500.00. I also had to replace two rear tires, over $500.00. This incident happened while I was out of state and on vacation. When I returned to my home in Florida, I called Goodyear Property Damage group, but they said that they could do nothing to help me without getting the damaged tire back to the company. Unfortunately, Mavis Tire in Matthews, NC disposed of the tire. I offered to send Goodyear photos of the damaged tire and vehicle, but they refused because they said that they needed the tire. No warning lamps, messages or symptoms occurred prior to the incident. AAA, Mavis tire, Classic Collision Ocala and insurance representatives have inspected the vehicle damage. Everything in my vehicle was burnt the fire department came and stated I should look up any recalls they said it was electrical. I bought the vehicle 30 days ago , dealership will not help neither the loan company I'm stuck with a vehicle who was sold with electrical problems almost to my life.

2015 Doge Durango, front passenger seat headrest malfunction "Active Head Restraint" and deployed while not in an accident. Headrest is available for inspection if requested. This occurred while the vehicle was being operated and caused a violent distraction. This could cause an accident as a result which would affect all in the vehicle. Additionally a direct impact/blow to the head from this defective headrest could lead to a head injury and/or cause an accident to occur. This has been reproduced in the same way by numerous consumers and third parties. Currently the defective headrest in question has not been inspected but communication with the manufacturer in progress. In regards to warning signs prior to the malfunction. There were no visible and/or audible signs this was about to occur. The headrest has received normal use which is very minimum. Research about this issue has shown this issue is documented and is present in multiple versions of the 2015 Dodge Durango but is not limited to just that year. Please investigate this issue as this is literally an accident waiting to happen.

The brake lights and running lights go out and stop working on this style lighting and also obtain moisture. The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Durango equipped with an engine oil dipstick, Part Number: 53034186AC. The contact stated that from the time the vehicle was purchased, there was significant smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe while starting the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure occurred intermittently. There was no warning light illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that he noticed that the oil level would be significantly low after driving 1,000 or 1,500 miles. The contact stated that as the dipstick fractured, he took the vehicle to the dealer for part replacement. However, the dealer provided him with a different dipstick, Part Number: 53034186AD and informed him that the replacement part was the correct part for the vehicle. The contact was informed that the original dipstick was the wrong part and had caused him to add an excessive amount of oil in the vehicle, which led to smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe. The contact stated that he had not experienced a failure since replacing the dipstick. The contact related the failure to Chrysler Technical Service Bulletin Number: 09-010-15. Driver side and third row passenger side seat belts have stopped retracting, will not retract. Exterior tail light is going out due to faulty manufacturer seal, water gets in and destroys tail light from inside which also lets water get into license plate bulb and makes the license plate bulbs burn out constantly. I feel unsafe driving my vehicle due to the seatbelt not retracting, if I have to slam on my brakes, the seal belt does not lock up like it should. I cannot have a passenger in the third row passenger side due to the seatbelt being loose and not retracting at all. Vehicle has not been reproduced, confirmed or inspected yet by anyone other than myself and passengers. No warnings before any of the issues.

Head rest on driver side with air bag started coming apart for no reason. I don’t see a recall Also, water keeps poking into rear tail light. No matter how many times I’ve drained it. I’ve heard this issue is called vehicle fires due to water getting into the electrical. I don’t want my vehicle to catch on fire with me or my grandkids inside. There is zero recalls and thousands of complaint regarding this issue. Dodge really need to do something about this before someone loses their life

The Blinker arm at the steering wheel has broken internally to where its useless taking my high beams, turn signals, wipers and everything else they put on it to not function properly. When I asked the dealership for a repair quote I was told the part is on back order due to high demand. When I looked at third party dealers the same issues no one has this part. I could see if this was a older car but if their blinker arm is breaking so much they can't keep a part in stock or tell you when it van be available should a safety concern. Also their design makes the blinker arm replacement 850 for part and 600 for labor. This shows poor design and poor craftsmanship in their parts

The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle made tapping sounds. Additionally, the brakes made squeaking sounds while the brake pedal was depressed. The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer and diagnosed with axle failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.

The lift gate light housing assembly develops cracks due to design flaw, allowing housing assembly to fill with water and cause lights to malfunction. The housing assembly is available for inspection upon request. The rear lights of the vehicle are not functioning as intended and can cause rear end vehicle collision, which car cause injury or worst to the passengers. The problem has been verified by my local Dodge dealership and Chrysler has been made aware of the issue as well. They have replaced the housing assembly 2 times for me in the past but Chrysler has not actually done anything to my knowledge about the design flaw and root cause of the light housing cracking. I currently have water intruding into my now 3rd housing and this time both the dealership and Chrysler are saying they are not going to do anything about it and if I want the cracked housing replaced then I need to pay for parts and labor myself, but what is the point of doing that if its a design flaw and its only a matter of time before the new housing cracks again. I am not the only Dodge Durango owner with this issue, these are many other people reporting this issue on Dodge Durango Forums. The vehicle has been inspected by my local Dodge dealership but not by any other entity. I don't have the maintenance records for the first time this happened, but my local Dodge dealership does. I think the first time the problem was reported was October 2019, and has now happened 2 more times.

IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.

AFTER BACKING OUT OF GARAGE, I PLACED THE VEHICLE IN PARK WITH ENGINE RUNNING WHILE I WALKED BACK INTO GARAGE. NOTE VEHICLE WAS PARKED ON A SLOPE. EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS NOT SET. WHILE IN GARAGE, I NOTICED VEHICLE WAS ROLLING DOWN DRIVEWAY. I WAS KNOCKED DOWN BY DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WHILE TRYING TO GET IN TO APPLY BRAKE. THE VEHICLE THEN ROLLED OVER MY MAILBOX, ACROSS STREET, OVER NEIGHBOR'S MAILBOX AND STOPPED WHEN IT HIT A TREE. MY WIFE WAS IN CAR SO KNOWS THAT REAR PARKING SENSORS NEVER CHIMED TO INDICATE IT WAS ABOUT TO HIT SOMETHING WHICH I BELIEVE CONFIRMS THAT THE CAR WASN'T STILL IN REVERSE AFTER BACKING OUT OF GARAGE. THE AIR BAGS WERE NOT DEPLOYED. I BELIEVE THAT VEHICLE SLIPPED OUT OF PARK. IT WAS NOT MOVING WHEN I FIRST GOT OUT. MY INJURIES FROM BEING KNOCKED TO THE GROUND AND HERS FROM BEING IN THE DRIVERS SEAT BOTH FEEL THEY DIDN'T WARRANT EMERGENCY ROOM TREATMENT BUT WILL GET TREATMENT IF PAIN PERSISTS.

THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL (ACC) APPLIES THE BRAKES AND BRINGS THE VEHICLE TO A STOP WHEN FOLLOWING ANOTHER VEHICLE IN TRAFFIC. IF THE VEHICLE AHEAD DOES NOT MOVE FORWARD WITHIN TWO SECONDS (UNLIKELY IN HEAVY TRAFFIC) THE ACC DISPLAYS A MESSAGE IN THE DASH WARNING THE DRIVER TO PRESS THE BRAKE AND THEN SUDDENLY SHUTS OFF THE ACC AND RELEASES THE BRAKE CAUSING THE CAR TO BEING TO CREEP FORWARD. MY CAR CAME CLOSE TO ROLLING INTO THE CAR IN FRONT BECAUSE THE FIRST TIME I USED THE ACC I DID NOT EXPECT THIS BEHAVIOR. THE ACC IS PROMOTED AS HAVING A STOP AND GO FEATURE. I EXPECTED THE ACC TO WAIT UNTIL THE CAR I WAS BEHIND TO RESUME SPEED AND THEN RESUME SPEED FOR MY CAR ACCORDINGLY. (THIS IS THE WAY I WAS USED TO THIS FEATURE WORKING IN MY MERCEDES S550). THERE IS A SOPHISTICATED CENTER DASH COMPUTER SYSTEM SHOWING CLIMATE, RADIO, NAV, ETC. I WAS EXPLORING THIS SYSTEM AND NOT WATCHING THE DRIVER INFORMATION DISPLAY IN THE DASH AND AS SUCH, MISSED THE VERY BRIEF MESSAGE WARNING ME TO APPLY THE BRAKE. BESIDES THE FACT THAT IN ESSENCE THIS CAR DOES NOT REALLY EMPLOY A STOP AND GO FEATURE FOR ALL PRACTICAL PURPOSES AND LULLS A NEW DRIVER INTO A FALSE SENSE OF SECURITY, THE CURRENT IMPLEMENTATION MAKES NO SENSE FROM A SAFETY STANDPOINT. THE DRIVER SHOULD NOT HAVE TO DO ANYTHING FOR THE CAR TO RESUME FOLLOWING THE CAR IN FRONT. A LESS DESIRABLE, BUT BETTER IMPLEMENTATION WOULD BE TO REQUIRE SOME DRIVER INPUT TO THE CAR TO RESUME TRAVEL - BUT THIS CERTAINLY WOULD NOT QUALIFY AS A STOP AND GO ACC.

BOUGHT A 2015 DURANGO IN MAY 2015 HAVE HAD IT 45DAYS AND IT HAS BEEN IN THE SERVICE DEPT AT THE DEALERSHIP MORE THAN WITH ME. IT STARTED WITH A FUEL SENSOR, THEN THE SUNROOF WOULDN'T CLOSE, IT FRIED THE USB PORT, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT KEEPS GOING ON & OFF WHILE DRIVING, NOW THE SEAT NOR STEERING WHEEL WILL MOVE AT ALL OR IF YOU DOES MOVE BY SOME MIRACLE THE SEAT DECIDES TO REPOSITION ITSELF WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING.
