The rear race track light and license plate lights failed to work due to a faulty gasket or seal on the light. Faulty in the manufacturing process and now to repair this issue is $1500 or more. The vehicle can not be inspected and used do to the lights not working.

Water is entering the rear tail light assembly and dimming the tail light. The OEM seal has failed. I took this problem to my Dodge dealer, and they informed me that even with a Mopar extended warranty, they will not replace the tail light assembly because it is considered a "Bulb". That's a $2000.00 blub!

Water gets inside the rear tail light and the lights burn out the same with the side rear lights
Jul 29, 2025
water collects in the racing tail light which leads to electrical issues or some parts or all of the light going out.

The rear light bar (race track bar) does not illuminate. Seems to be a common issue among Durango's. My rear light visibility is low now due to it being out for night driving. It also failed the two license plate lights to work which is required by MN Statute (law). I could be pulled over and issued a citation due to the issue.

I was driving down the freeway going about 70 on a trip with my 2 small kids. We were about 2.5 hours from home when the check engine light came on and was orange. Within minutes, while I was safely trying to get off of the freeway, it turned red and was blinking. I had to slow down to under 40 to get it to go back to orange while I tried to find a place to pull over and figure out what to do, creating a dangerous situation for myself and other drivers. The car only had 40,000 miles, is regularly serviced, and there were no previous issues with any of the warning lights. Took to the first repair shop and they said it was likely the coolant pipes and they have seen it in Durangos because of the way the car is assembled. They recommended that I bring it to the dealership because they didn't want to void my warranty. Dealership confirmed it was "large leak coming from back of engine. upon further inspection leak is coming from rear heater coolant pipes. replaced coolant pipes and found coolant leaks from rear heater hoses. replaced rear heater hoses" The issue with the heater hoses having to be replaced is that the car is assembled so that it has to be completely lifted and split in 2 to be able to do the work. Because of the position of the hoses, there are parts of the frame of the car that rub against those hoses and pipes creating damage and leaks, and there is no easy way to repair the damage that is caused by manufacturer positioning. The parts themselves were less than $700, but the labor charge for having to have multiple people work on taking the entire car apart to replace those parts was more than $5,000.

Cooling system hose blew from a faulty clamp rubbing a hole in it. There’s a TON of reports of this same problem with the same model/year. All antifreeze leaked out and overheated engine.

The interior door handle (driver side) has some kind of plastic coating on which began to peel back from the handle. It was very sharp and cut my hand.

The rear spoiler is coming detached from the lift gate. It's a recall for 2021 durango but not for the 2019 but mine is loose and rattling horribly and I'm afraid it'll fly off and hit another vehicle

The rear marker lights which are LED have shorted and are now inoperative. So at night I no longer have any rear running lights. Also the license plate lights are out. Dealer charged me $254.00 to diagnose the failed complaint and and found that the rear racetrack light and passenger rear corner light needs replaced. The estimate of repair is $254.00 for diagnosis and $2746.26 for rear race track light and pas rear corner light assembly. The dealer who is familiar with problem contacted Fiat Chrysler Automobiles with reference #931238452 looking for customer assistance with repair and dealer was told that Chrysler customer assistance would only contribute $712.85 with tax and no assistance for the $254.00 diagnosis fee. SO total out of my pocket would be $2447.08. I have read that a class action suit is underway do to the enormous amount of failures on 2017-2025 vehicles.

I recently ran into the issue with "Water Infilitration" in my RaceTrack strip on my Durango. I checked into it and it seems like there are thousands with this exact same issue and it is a manufacturing issue with the seals or gaskets. I've o my had my vehicle for four years and the whole racetrack LED strip needs replaced and costs thousands of dollars. There is no active recall but this seems to be a wide issueand concern among many Durango owners. I feel as this should be replaced at the manufactures expense due to faulty equipment. The tail lights work but the main LEDS in the lighting is out and also the license plate light that is controlled by the same lighting is out as well. This is not only my concern but a HUGe safety risk and financial burden for owners and operators of the vehicle. I'm taking it to be inspected at the dealership tomorrow and if legal action needs to be taken so be it. I've also documents pictures and a video from literal stand still water within the component of my racetrack lights.

Water intrusion through tail lamp assembly causes water to pool in tail lamps and burn out rear lights, back up camera, and possible fire if not repaired. There are forums on the web dedicated to this problem.
May 27, 2023
My 2019 Dodge Durango is experiencing rear 'racetrack' lighting issues as thousands have. Many are complaining same issue. Poor design allows water to get into LED assembly and shorts it out. When this happens not only does the allumination of the LED go out.. But so does the license plate light. This not only creates a illegal situation but a hazard in night driving. You take the mounting bolt out on 'inside' of rear hatch and water pours out. Took this in to two differant dealers and neither will honor the warranty. I assume due to cost of the 'racetrack' being 0ver $1000 not including cost on labor. This is a serious issue thousands of owners are dealing with. from 2014 Durango right through the latest model. They seriously need a recall on this defective issue to prevent accidents.
May 16, 2022
Water has leaked into the center "racetrack" tail light lens on the rear of the vehicle, and pooled in the bottom portion of said lens. This has caused the LED lighting to begin burning out, causing a safety issue. The only fix is a very expensive ($1200-$1500) replacement of the entire tail light lens assembly. This is an extremely common issue among Durango owners and Dodge should be held liable for the defect, as visible and working lighting is essential for safety.

Started receiving an auto start error message on the dash. Then after long drives vehicle would not start up without a jump. Went to test battery and it failed while connected to vehicle. I bought a new battery, I installed it, and then tested it and failed the test. I then checked the old battery (not connected) and it past. Which means there a parasitic battery drain. I then changed the engine off and the headlight delay settings to 0, and tested the connected battery and it passed. So the delay settings for the engine off and headlight delay is causing a parasitic battery drain in the 2019 dodge durango.

2019 Dodge Durango Rear Center Liftgate Tail Light Assembly Lift Gate Back Up Light Lamp OEM#68453659AA. Water pools into the rear lights from poor gaskets and has caused my rear lights to go on and off, LED light has burned out due to the water pooling into the electrics. I have seen 100's of reports on the internet on this issue and don't understand why no recall is in place. I believe this is a severe risk to other drivers and myself, especially when driving at night, fog, or rain. I have almost been rear ended a few times and also pulled over by the police multiple times on the issue.

The service shifter light comes on, the windshield wipers come on by themselves, the cruise control wont work when the message is on. This happens on ALOT of Chrysler vehicles!! The Durango wont shift into drive when the message is on. It also happens when the durango is being driven. The message appears everytime I turn my durango on.

Chrysler Customer Care PO Box 21-8004 Auburn Hills, MI 48321-8004 June 3, 2022 Dear Customer Care, I own a 2019 Chrysler Dodge Durango Pursuit. I purchased it used last year from a Chrysler dealer in Newcastle, Maine. Today, as I was driving along the road my car completely shut off. It was totally without any power at, thankfully, only 35-40 mph. I had no brakes, no power steering, no lights, including flashers, NOTHING. I was able to get partially off the road but was in a very precarious place and had to call 911 to get a police car to come to keep from being hit by traffic. When the tow truck got there, I knew that the Neutral Engagement button needed to be pushed in to pull the car onto the flatbed and advised the driver. He proceeded to push the release button, but nothing happened until he wiggled the shift level. When he did that, the electrical came back on and the car asked for the key fob to start the car. It then started to all our amazement. There is no apparent reason for this vehicle to have lost all power and electrical when it did. This is a very, very unsafe situation. If I had been in heavy traffic and going much faster the story might have been very tragic. There is no way I would have been able to get off the highway, especially if I had to cross a lane or two. I had all I could do to steer it at 35. I am sending a copy of this letter to Consumer Reports, the NHTSA, and a local Chrysler dealer. I am hoping the dealer might have some idea of what may be happening so that I can make sure it doesn’t happen again. I think you need to find out and see what you can come up with as well. This is a serious safety problem that needs your immediate attention. Please get back to me with your findings asap. Thank you. Sincerely, [XXX] cc. Every 2000 miles, vehicle won’t and keeps asking me for an anti-theft code. I have had it serviced at least 7 times and I have not had the vehicle a year. Every time I take it in they just replaced the battery and the battery cell and it works fine for about a month then it shuts down again

Electronic power steering locks the wheel while turning. Have to use excessive force to get it out of the stuck position. I have went through several forums trying to figure out why this happens there are many other customers experiencing the same problem. There is no power steering pump to replace so this could be an absolute danger to anyone driving a Durango with this problem or others around them.

Goodyear examined my Durango on October 4th 2023. Examination results reported a flawed electromechanical steering gearbox. Price to repair including parts, upwards of 4,000 dollars. I have a prepaid warranty covering repairs and parts. Parts availability from the Chrysler corporation are the issue. The dealership Orange Park Chrysler Jeep Dodge was informed AND examined the vehicle themselves. They related to me the "part isn't available". I returned to the Goodyear dealership. Their response is the same. Neither factory nor aftermarket steering gearbox are available for purchase. Therein lies the reason for this report from me. I've written emails to Chrysler (stellantis) customer service 3 times. The 3rd time being today October 16th. They responded once shortly after the October 4th email. Since then quiet as a church mouse. So far the steering gearbox just pops and makes grinding noises. I'm 67 years old and existing on disability payments. I can't get the parts. I still owe 32,000 plus (9650 for warranty coverage). So I CAN'T get rid of it. If it fails while being driven, State Farm won't cover the damages because I KNEW the vehicle was needing repairs and continued to drive it. I'm FORCED to drive it because of parts UNAVAILABLE by Chrysler or the aftermarket. I can't afford a rental car for what appears to be an EXTENDED period of time. I can't attach the 3 emails here. However the emails WILL be retained for future reference. Any assistance you may provide would be greatly appreciated.

While driving 70 mph on the highway, the car gave a light that stated, "power steering unavailable" and in fact, I had no power steering. I had to really muscle the car to get it to turn at all. If this had happened while I was turning a corner, it could have been the cause of an accident. Obviously driving a car with no power steering is dangerous in and of itself, not to mention it happening out of the blue while driving at highway speeds. There was no prior warning to the light coming on. This is a car with just over 40k miles on it and is a used Dodge certified car. We had to wait several weeks for an appointment at our local Dodge dealership at which time they confirmed the steering rack is defective. The part was at least 60 days out, indicating to me that this is an issue with other vehicles as well. Fast forward to last week and we were informed the part was in and we could have the car back by the end of this week. However, yesterday (5/10/2023) we received a call that the part that was delivered to the dealership was also defective. They got the part installed, but could not get the computer to recognize it. Currently we do not have a timeline on when a new, hopefully not defective, part will be delivered. We are lucky because we have MOPAR care on the vehicle and it will cover the cost of the repair and they will reimburse us for the use of the rental car, although the rental car is inadequate compared to the car that I purchased.

ON MY WAY TO LABOR & DELIVERY, MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP, A LIGHT AND MESSAGE CAME ON THAT SAID, "POWER STEERING UNAVAILABLE". I COULD NOT TURN LEFT OR RIGHT AND SINCE I WAS ALREADY TURNING LEFT WHEN IT LOCKED UP AND WENT STRAIGHT, I NEARLY HIT ALL THE CARS PARKED ON THE SIDE OF THE STREET. WHEN I LEFT THE HOSPITAL, THE LIGHT WAS OFF. A WEEK LATER, THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND STAYED ON. THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AGAIN AS WE WERE DRIVING DOWN A MAIN ROAD AND WE ALMOST HIT THE CAR IN THE LANE NEXT TO US BECAUSE WHEN IT LOCKED UP, IT SNATCHES THE WHEEL FROM WHEREVER WE HAVE IT TO A LOCKED STRAIGHT POSITION. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE WHEN YOU ARE PREGNANT WITH 3 CHILDREN IN THE BACK. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT CRASHING INTO PEOPLE WITHOUT NOTICE. WE GOT IT CHECKED OUT AND THEY SAID THE ELECTRIC STEERING RACK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED FOR A WHOPPING $4500. ON A 2019 VEHICLE, THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE. IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND NOW I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT A VEHICLE FOR 3 MONTHS NOW BECAUSE EVERYONE KEEPS TELLING US THAT THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER.

WHILE VISITING MISSISSIPPI FROM INDIANA, IN JULY, I KEPT GETTING A "POWER STEERING UNAVAILABLE" "NEED SERVICE". I CALLED AND WAS GOING TO TAKE IT TO A SHOP THERE BUT THE MESSAGE WENT AWAY THE NEXT DAY. WE MADE IT BACK HOME TO INDIANA AND I IMMEDIATELY MADE AN APPOINTMENT AND DROPPED MY VEHICLE OFF. THEY CALLED THE NEXT DAY AND SAID THE MESSAGE NEVER CAME UP FOR THEM, SO THEY RESET THE SYSTEM TO PREVENT IT FROM HAPPENING. THEY SAID THE PART IS VERY EXPENSIVE SO IF THE ISSUE ISN'T GOING ON WHILE THEY HAVE THE VEHICLE THEN THEY CAN'T JUST REPLACE IT. FAST FORWARD TO TODAY. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HWY WITH 2 OF MY CHILDREN THE MESSAGE POPS UP AGAIN AND POWER STEERING WENT OUT. VERY SCARY. THANKFULLY I WAS ABLE TO GET US HOME SAFE BUT YURNING THE WHEEL WAS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE. I PLAN TO CALL THE DEALERSHIP IN THE MORNING, BUT THIS IS RIDICULOUS AND VERY DANGEROUS.

Oil cooler failure .I am concerned because my mechanic says this is a common problem with this type of motor. Why isn't it recall.
Dec 17, 2025
Twice this year this has happened. I was driving to work when suddenly the lights on the dash came on and the car started over heating. There was a ton of engine coolant under the car. Took the car to get repaired. They said the coolant lines rub against something under the car and caused a hole. They said it was a defect in the way the car is designed and there is nothing to hold up the coolant lines running to the rear of the vehicle. They told us we needed to contact dodge and file a claim. We did and heard nothing back from them. Fast forward 6 months and it happens again. Car is currently at a dodge dealership. Same issue. Filed another complaint and claim with them. Its been 3 weeks. 0 response. Car is still at the dealership.

I was driving my vehicle and the engine light came on and the car started overheating. I had to immediately pull over. There was fluid underneath my Vehicle again. This occurred twice in 6 months. The engine coolant lines have a whole in them. This is the 2nd repair for the same issue in 6 months. The Vehicle has been sitting for over 3 weeks at dodge. They have not answered or responded to our claims. The Vehicle poses a safety risk as it instantly overheats and you lose power. The coolant lines under the Vehicle are not secured at all and rub against other parts under the vehicle.

Upon making slow turn I experiance a rapid unintended acceleration. Engine raced to about 4000 RPM. In order to get vehicle under control brakes were applied to maximum and vehicle was shifted into neutral which caused engine to throttle higher but driver was able to turn off vehicle and safely come to a stop. After restarting vehicle throttle reurned to normal functioning. I was lucky there were no other vehicles around or a wreck would have happened. I do not know if this related to recall 22V426000. `Dodge dealeership advised that there currenlly is no fix for this recall. If this incident is related to the recall Dodge needs to find a fix ASAP.+

Wasn’t my fault another car moved on the red light during intersection and mine was green and hit my car . I went to ER & i did a MRI and my doctor said I have serious issues with my back & neck now & I’ll need several surgeries , Thanks and have a great day!

From my understanding, I went to several different mechanics who all said the same thing. 2019 and maybe older years, the way the truck was made, the coolant hose runs all the way from the resovoir to the back of the truck which is causing a metal pipe and the coolant hose to touch and when the metal pipe gets hot, it’s eating at the hose cause a significant leakage under the truck. And the hose is behind the vent under the truck which means pieces would need to get removed from the truck in order to get to the hose.

The vent tube leading to the transmission came disconnected and sucked up water into my transmission. Leading to the transmission to not have any power. My son and I were in the the car trying to go up the hill when it lost power and started rolling backwards down the hill into traffic with the gas pedal to the floor. The mechanic at dodge said he has no idea how the vent tube was able to suck up that much water into the transmission. There was no lights that came on about the vent tube until it was too late and even then the check engine light would go on and off every time the car was turned off. The car is un drivable and currently at JT Dodge land in Columbia SC. I have notified my Insurance to see if this is something that would be covered l.

THE TRANSMISSION SOUNDS AND FEELS LIKE IT IS WINDING UP AND THEN SHIFTS HARD. THIS GENRALLY HAPPENS RIGHT AFTER I TAKE OFF. IT ALSO SOUNDS LIKE IT WINDS UP AT SPEED AND THEN DOESN'T SHIFT INTO OVERDRIVE, EVEN THOUGHT IT SHOWS THAT IT IS IS GEAR 8. THIS IS NOT A ONE TIME OCCURRENCE, IT HAPPENS EVERYDAY. THIS POSES A SAFETY ISSUE S THIS IS A POLICE PATROL VEHICLE AND HAS TO RUN AT HIGH RATES OF SPEED FROM TIME TO TIME. IF THE TRANSMISSION LOCKS UP AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED THIS COULD BE VERY CATASTROPHIC.

I took my car into Fairfield Dodge (Fairfield Texas). I have taken my car in about 3 times already. The first two was to do test on it. I can be driving my car and smell Gas as if I stepped in it. the smell makes me sick. I can park my car and the smell is just ask bad on the outside as it is in the inside. the car dealership said oh we have found the problem. They had my car for 1mth and 2 days and changed the fuel take and canaster, oh that is it. They said it is fixed " WRONG. " I smell the same smell, and just as strong as I did when I took it in. So, I called, and they told me oh well we can set you up to bring it in so we can check it out. They DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT. I only have like 57,000 miles on my car and if this is a ongoing thing I think these falls under a LEMON LAW, I bought this car new. This is very dangerous I would like to get answers on my car and not have to leave it for a month or so just to have the same thing happen again and again. It is so bad if someone was to throw a cigarette down in the parkin lot it might caught on fire. I hope I can get answers before taking it in and getting no answers. ON JULY 2, 2020, I WAS DRIVING MY DODGE DURANGO UP AN ISOLATED STEEP MOUNTAIN ROAD IN THE SIERRA NEVADA AT ABOUT 20 MPH WHEN IT SUDDENLY STALLED ON A STEEP GRADE IN THE ROAD. I WAS ABLE TO APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKES TO PREVENT THE CAR FROM ROLLING BACKWARDS. THERE WERE NO ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE CAR HAD BEEN OPERATING AT NORMAL TEMPERATURE. AFTER TRYING TO THE RESTART THE CAR, THE ENGINE AT FIRST BEGAN TO OPERATE, THEN ALMOST IMMEDIATELY HESITATED AND DIED. I TRIED AGAIN WITH THE SAME RESULTS, AND EVEN ATTEMPTED TO APPLY THE GAS PEDAL TO NO AVAIL. AS SOMEONE WITH SOME PREVIOUS MECHANICAL EXPERIENCE, IT SEEMED TO ME THAT IT WAS A FUEL DELIVERY PROBLEM. THE CAR HAD NEARLY HALF A TANK OF GAS HOWEVER. I POPPED THE HOOD AND OBSERVED NOTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY THAT WOULD INDICATE ANY PROBLEMS. THERE WAS OIL IN THE CRANKCASE AND AMPLE COOLANT. MY WIFE AND I DECIDED TO WAIT AND LET THE ENGINE AND VEHICLE COOL DOWN SINCE IT WAS OVER 90 DEGREES OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE. AFTER ABOUT 20 MINUTES, I RESTARTED THE CAR WITHOUT PROBLEM AND CONTINUED ON MY WAY. THE CAR HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN IN AUTOMATIC MODE BUT HAD SHIFTED TO THE LOWER GEARS. I DECIDED TO PUT THE TRANSMISSION IN MANUAL MODE AND KEEP THE CAR IN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR DUE TO THE STEEP TERRAIN. WE HAD NO PROBLEMS THE REST OF THE WAY. WE WERE BEYOND CELL PHONE RANGE ON A VERY ISOLATED ROAD AND IT WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY DIFFICULT TO OBTAIN A TOW, SO I AM VERY GRATEFUL THE CAR CONTINUED TO OPERATE AFTER OUR INITIAL PROBLEM. HOWEVER, WE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THIS PROBLEM WILL OCCUR AGAIN OR WHETHER HAVING THE TRANSMISSION IN AUTOMATIVE MODE ON A STEEP GRADE PLAYED ANY ROLE.

Purchased my used 2019 Durango at the end of June 2022. Everything was fine, then after a month and a half the vehicle starts to act up. Had the "Service Electronic Stability Control" warning come on several times. "Stop/Start Unavailable, Service System" warning come on four or five times. Then, sitting at a stop light, the engine shut down and wouldn't turn on and a warning saying my "Hood Is Open" popped up. Put vehicle in Park. Tried again, same warning, third time was a charm it finally started. Took it to dealer, they say after a 'recall' fix is sent out, some of these problems (they say are related) will go away. Meanwhile, I'm paying for a vehicle that sits in my driveway while I drive one of my other vehicles. I can't drive a vehicle that may suddenly 'shut down' with my family in it. Vehicle only has 17, 900 miles on it too.

MY CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF ON ME WHILE TAKING A RIGHT TURN INTO MY DRIVEWAY. IT DIED AT THE END OF MY DRIVEWAY. IT TURNED BACK ON AFTER I PUT IT IN PARK AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE. THANKFULLY THIS DID NOT HAPPEN ON A BUSY ROAD IN TOWN OR ON A HIGHWAY. WHEN I ALSO TURN MY CAR ON, MY STEREO SOMETIMES WORK AND SOMETIMES DOESN'T . IT DOES THIS A LOT. IS ANY ONE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES? MY CAR HAS JUST A LITTLE OVER 11K MILES AND SHOULDN'T BE HAVING THIS ISSUE. *TR

I HAVE A 2019 DODGE DURANGO Which has a faulty brake light that stays on. after doing some extensive research there was a recall on the durango. (Recall 21A, NHTSA 23E-019) This recall is for defective Hydraulic Control Unit. Now the recall letter issues a suspected range on the units based on the Julian date of Manufacturing. for this recall is numbers 8166-9106. my unit is8355. The dealerships and Dodge have been making it difficult for me to have replaced because my VIN is not listed for this recall, but its clear it should based on the recall letter that provides the exact range of faulty units that mine falls inline with. I have attached some pics of the recall letter and of my hydraulic unit. any help will be appreciated

Last year I notice water in my tail lights. I removed the bolt to help drain the water. Part of my tail lights is now burned out. Now at 77,000+ my start/stop light came on, then the check engine. Scan code was P0304. Misfire on cylinder 4. I changed ignition coil 4, set of spark plugs. It was still misfiring on 4. I had spark plugs on 4 changed. This still did not fix it. The person who changed the spark plugs let me know my lifter/cam was bad. I scheduled with Dodge and they diagnosed it with a blown head gasket. The service rep said the blown head gasket was my fault, however after asking the mechanic said there was no code for over heating or any of that, just the misfire.

We were notified of a recall in Nov 2024 with a first quarter of 2025 fix. We are now 1 year later and still no fix, clearly a safety issue and I cannot trade in or sell legally without the fix. I am stuck with a vehicle with known safety issues and Chrysler is being allowed to just ignore it.

I was driving home and felt steering wheel shake while on curved road, brakes felt like they wanted to lock up, then everything on dash lighted up looked like a shortage. My foot was still on the gas pedal then car just slowed down by itself. I had to steer vehicle to side of road. I did not panic, I was fearful something could’ve happened if I would’ve had other vehicles behind or even oncoming traffic. My vehicle is available for inspections upon request. Took my vehicle to a dodge dealership for inspection and I was advised of a recall on my vehicle. Unfortunately, I was advised by the dodge dealership that no remedy was yet available for my vehicle. I also contacted the manufacturer and they advised me the same as dealership, maybe during the first quarter of 2025 there could be a remedy. The manufacturer stated they would prioritize my case but no specific date could be given. I was given an option for a rental and due to my circumstances I would not be able to afford a rental. (I have to continue payments on my loan & vehicle insurance.) I purchased the vehicle from Dyer Chevrolet Vero Beach, I did reach out (on 3/31/2025) and asked them why was vehicle sold if there was a stop sale. Salesperson “ Cameron Andrews” stated “stop sale was not in effect at time of purchase [XXX] and it came out after the fact”. When my family and I were making an hour long drive to a hotel for the weekend, the check engine light came on briefly, and went off. On the way home, it came on once more and vehicle lost power and i thought it was going to stall but then it was fine. I thought it was from the cold weather but a few days later, the light came on and stayed on. I got P0001 & P000A codes on a reader. It's unsafe in frigid temps to have the risk of vehicle stalling because of this issue & this isn't the 1st computer/sensor/electrical issue I've had with it since I bought it certified new. I think there are multiple computer issues with this model year and just want to make others aware. There is also a recall with the brake system in this vehicle.

The car seat base was not secure to the seat after installing. We installed the car seat rear facing to bring home our expecting newborn and noticed how much the base moved around not only side to side but up and down. I did reach out to the company Maxi Cosi and they stated that the movement was perfectly normal. Even after the video of the base moving. We returned the car seat to Walmart and showed them the video of the base and Maxi Cosi’s response. Walmart approved the return and placed the car seat in damaged goods so that another expecting parent didn’t buy it.

I bought this vehicle in Sept 2019 drove off the lot with it brand new and the headlights and whole dash lights went out when I hit a bump. For the next two years, the car kept having electrical problems when it rained or the vehicle was washed but the Virginia dealership could never duplicate the problem. I moved to Indiana where these problems continued. Finally, an Indianapolis dealer discovered my antenna gasket was bad and water had been leaking in from it running to the dash causing all the electrical issues. This was found in 2021. Dodge has recently bought my vehicle back as a lemon but in the paperwork only said it had radio problems. This is not true. It had much more and I'm guessing all the vehicles made with mine may also have a bad/faulty antenna gasket I doubt Dodge did a recall on.

When attempting to start and the push button is pressed, the vehicle stutters for up to 5 seconds before turning over. This is happening intermittently, but will always turn over. It was also communicated that the service technician researched several service bulletins and was not able to find any information on the happenings. Because there isnt a "failure" we have been told that the vehicle needs to fail in order to have this fixed. We have less than 58K miles on this vehicle. This has been happening since September 2022

My car has 7000 miles on it and the brake light is stuck on thanks to a faulty reading in the ABS system. This also causes the car to think someone is in the car because the brake pedal is being pressed. It is illegal to operate a car without the brake lights working properly not to mention unsafe. My car has been setting in the driveway for over 3 months and Chrysler is in no hurry to repair it. The ABS module part has a superseded part number so they obviously have addressed the faulty part. I paid a lot for a car that has become a driveway accessory. How long can they drag their feet? They are losing repeat customers.

The start/stop warning light came on for the second time on my 2019 Durango. I had both batteries replaced the first time and now, at 18,500 miles it came on again even though I drive it daily on both highway and local roads. This time, the warning only came on once but the start/stop feature was affecting the performance of the truck. There would be a lag when I would start to drive again, which was dangerous because if you’re making a quick turn or merge, that little delay was significant in safely timing the turn. Also, it would jerk the wheel abruptly upon restarting. And then the truck died completely. Leaving my husband and daughter stranded. Thank god my infant and I were home because this would’ve been even worse with a baby in tow and or if I was on my way to pick up my older daughter somewhere. He said all the lights and alarms on the dash went bezerk and then the truck wouldn’t start at all. The battery strain from the start/stop must have drained the main battery enough to make the computer system go crazy and completely shut down. The tow truck driver couldn’t get any power to truck and now we were left having to get towed to the dealership right after service closed, with the truck being completely unlocked and dead and the driver side window open.

On May 7, 2021, I was informed by Champion Dodge in Indianapolis, Indiana that a water intrusion point was discovered on my new Dodge Durango. The service department determined that the antenna had a faulty antenna gasket causing water to get into the vehicle through the antenna since I purchased it in September 2019. To date, my vehicle has been in the shop for about 70 days, always returned to me as "unable to duplicate" after the vehicle accelerating by itself, the LED panel malfunctioning repeatedly, the highlights coming on by themselves, and the instrument panel going out multiple times and the backup camera not engaging just to name a few problems I've had. All this Dodge dealer did with this major discovery was to replace the antenna and return the vehicle to me as safe. I feel this situation is not safe as water has been getting into the electrical car components of my vehicle since 2019, and this cannot be a safe situation but Doge refuses to buy back this vehicle as a Lemon or even with this new information they still refuse. My Dodge has experienced electrical problems from day one of my purchase of this vehicle. I have had ongoing safety issues with this vehicle all to do with electrical problems. I think this is a very unsafe situation for this vehicle to be on the road.
