With my vehicle the brakes go straight to the floor. I took it to the mitsubishi dealership closest to me (Bobmills mitsubishi Jacksonville Nc). When I got there i told them what was going on, and if you bleed the brakes they worked fine for 3 or 4 days but after that the brakes would just go to the floor again. They said they bleed the brakes to replace the fluid and then tested the ABS module for a recall and said it was fine but I had a collapsed brake line in the rear. I replaced all the brake lines on the vehicle and did a complete bleed again to remove any air. The brakes now go all the way to the floor again. I was trying to bleed them just to see if I could get some pressure, but 3 of the lines aren't getting pressure. I decided to check and bleed at the master cylinder, I had plenty of pressure coming out so I know that's good. Then I checked the bleed pressure at the ABS module thats on the recall and I am only getting pressure from the drivers front tire, the other 3 are not giving pressure at all, even if you pump the brakes while they are open. So I know the cylinders in that ABS module are bad. So I called the dealership again and they are refusing to do it because they said they don't work on vehicles that old.

Brakes consistently fail to hold pressure and are letting go. I purchased this car back in April and the previous owner had no idea of the recall. Did a bit of research and found it's a defect in the system. Once the car fails to hold pressure I have to very rapidly spam the break pedal to get a sliver of pressure so my car can come to a stop. Breaking with little pressure grinds the brakes and doesn't stop the car.

Dearler did not fix the ABS, only replaced brake fluid. ABS still fails. went back to Mitsubishi and they said they couldnt help me.

I JUST PAID FOR AND SIGNED PAPERWORK FOR AN 2007 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE SE, I HAVEN'T TAKEN OWNERSHIP AS FAR A DRIVING IT OFF LOT AFTER PAY/SIGN. CAR FAX WAS SHOWN TO ME B4 SIGNING, IT'S BEEN 2 DAYS AND I HAVEN'T TAKEN OFF LOT YET (FRONT D SIDE CALIPER BRACKET SLIDE/GLIDE PINS ARE SEIZED UP, BRAKE PADS LOCKED ONTO ROTOR. I WILL NOT DRIVE CAR UNTIL DEALER COMPLETES RECALL. THE FRONT OF MY DASHBOARD (THE AIRBAG SITS BEHIND IT) IS COMING OFF OF MY VEHICLE. IT IS ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE. I CONTACTED THE MITSUBISHI DEALER IN CHARLESTON, SC AND HE INFORMED ME THAT HE HAD SEEN NUMEROUS VEHICLES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM (MITSUBISHI). I CONSIDER THIS TO BE A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE ONCE THIS PIECE OF MATERIAL FALLS OFF THERE WILL BE NOTHING TO PROTECT THE PASSENGER FROM THE AIRBAG AT ANY TIME. I WAS INFORMED IT WOULD COST $1,200 TO FIX. THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. MY VEHICLE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE 100,000 MILES ON IT YET. MY CAR WAS STOLEN LAST YEAR BY SOMEONE I KNEW, AND WAS WRECKED. AFTER THE WRECK, MYSELF AND PENNSYLVANIA STATE POLICE SPOKE TO THE PERSON AND HE SAID THE ACCIDENT WAS CAUSED BECAUSE THE BRAKES FAILED TO ENGAGE AS HE WAS MAKING A TURN AND THE RIGHT LOWER CONTROL ARM FAILED, WHICH CAUSED THE TIE ROD TO SNAP WHICH PUNCTURED THROUGH THE WHEEL AND OUT THE TIRE. DAMAGE DONE TO THE VEHICLE CONFIRMS THIS, AND I HAVE PICTURES AND DOCUMENTATION TO SUPPORT THIS CLAIM. CAR WAS LEFT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH ENTIRE FRONT RIGHT SUSPENSION DETACHED, CV SHAFT RIPPED OUT FROM THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION, ENTIRE FRONT RIGHT WHEEL HUB ASSEMBLY WAS RIPPED OFF, CALIPER, BRAKE PADS AND ROTOR REMAINED ATTACHED TO THE HUB, BUT WERE DISCONNECTED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE WHEEL ALSO REMAINED INTACT ON THE HUB. THERE WAS SIGNIFICANT FRONT END DAMAGE TO THE BUMPER, FENDER, INNER WHEEL HUB SPLASH GUARDS, HEADLIGHT, ETC. AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. HIS SEAT BELT DID NOT LOCK ON IMPACT. CAR WAS TOTALED AND CONSIDERED SALVAGE, BUT I RECONSTRUCTED IT AND HAVE OVER $4,500 INVESTED IN REPAIRS THAT COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF THE BRAKES AND LOWER CONTROL ARM WORKED PROPERLY. HE WAS TRAVELING ON A SIDE STREET THROUGH A SMALL TOWN AROUND 11PM ON A CLEAR, WARM NIGHT. NO OTHER MOVING CARS WERE ON THE ROAD AT THE TIME, BUT HE DID SIDE SWIPE SEVERAL PARKED CARS.

I HAVE A 2007 MITSUBISHI ECLIPES GS. THAT HAS OVER 160,000 MILES. FOR THE LAST 9 MONTHS OR EVEN LONGER MY HUSBAND HAS TO PUSH THE PASSENGER SIDE DASH BOARD DOWN WHERE THE AIRBAG IS TO COVER IT BACK. NO, I HAVEN'T TOOK IT TO A DEALER YET, I FIGURE WITH THE WARRANTY OFF OF THE CAR, THE DEALER SHIP WOULD SAY I HAVE TO PAY TO FIX IT. I HAVE NO MONEY TO FIX IT. SO, I'M HOPING THAT SOMEONE WILL READ THIS AND TELL ME THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON IT SO, IT CAN BE FIXED THE RIGHT WAY. I HOPE THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG(DASH BOARD) WORKS INCASE OF A ACCIDENT. 5 YEARS AFTER BUYING VEHICLE, BRAKE PEDAL WOULD SPORADICALLY PUSH ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. TOOK ME 3 YEARS FOR SOMEONE TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH SPONGY, WHISTLING BRAKES. ABS HYDRAULIC UNIT HAD GREASE CAKED UNDER IT, AND THE SHOP WOULD NOT LET ME DRIVE MY CAR BECAUSE IT WAS TOO DANGEROUS. HAD ABS SYSTEM REPLACED ON MY $, A YEAR LATER A RECALL CAME OUT ON THE ABS HYDRAULIC UNIT. MITSUBISHI DENIED MY CLAIM FOR REIMBURSEMENT BECAUSE THE PLACE THAT FIXED IT FAILED TO WRITE ON THE FORM THE REASONS I CAME IN TO GET IT FIXED. APPARENTLY I'M GOING TO HAVE AN $800 PART REPLACED FOR NO REASON. FOUND ON NHTSA THE INDICATORS OF A BAD PART AND THE FACT THAT IT IS DOCUMENTED MY ABS LIGHT CAME ON SHOULD BE ENOUGH. ALSO, PASSENGER SIDE DOOR: THE AUTOMATIC LOCK NO LONGER WORKS AND THERE IS NO KEY HOLE ON THAT SIDE; COULD BE A SLIGHT ISSUE BUT IS MORE ANNOYING THAN ANYTHING AND PUTS CAR AT RISK FOR THEFT.

VEHICLE BECAME UNRESPONSIVE TO BRAKING. BRAKES ALMOST GO INTO FLOORBOARD BEFORE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF BRAKING. CAR IS VERY WOBBLY FEELING, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT'S RAINING OR WET OUTSIDE, THE CAR WILL SLIDE INTO ANYTHING WHEN USING BRAKES. I HAD TO RUN UP ON CURB TO MISS HITTING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME, BECAUSE THE CAR WOULDN'T STOP! BRAKE LIGHT ALSO WAS ON, SO REPAIRED IT AT BODY SHOP AND REPLACED MASTER CYLINDER. AFTER MASTER CYLINDER WAS REPLACED BRAKE LIGHT WENT OFF BUT CAR WAS STILL DRIVING THE SAME, (WOBBLY, NOT STOPPING ON TIME, BRAKES GOING INTO FLOORBOARD). ABOUT A MONTH OR LESS LATER BRAKE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND BODY SHOP SAID IT WAS BRAKE FLUID SO THEY FIXED IT, THEN BRAKE LIGHT WENT OFF, BUT STILL DRIVING THE SAME. ROTATED TIRES, REPLACED OLD TIRES AND PUT ON NEW ONES, ALIGNED CAR, REPLACED BREAK PADS, REPLACED MASTER CYLINDER, AND STILL NOTHING HAS CHANGED. I HAVE SPENT SO MUCH TIME AND THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO REPAIR THIS CAR AND NOTHING WORKS. I'VE BEEN WITHOUT A CAR DURING THE TIME IT'S BEEN REPAIRED TO ONLY FIND OUT THAT IT CAN'T BE REPAIRED NO MATTER WHAT MECHANICS DO. THIS IS COMPLETELY DANGEROUS AND I AM JUST INCHES AWAY FROM HAVING AN ACCIDENT AND EITHER HURTING MYSELF OR OTHER PEOPLE (ESPECIALLY ON THE INTERSTATE). I DO NOT SEE HOW ANYONE CAN DRIVE A VEHICLE WITHOUT BRAKES WORKING AND THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL, BECAUSE THIS IS SUCH A SAFETY HAZARD. I WOULD APPRECIATE SOMEONE TAKING RESPONSIBILITY OF FIXING THIS ISSUE, SINCE ME AND OTHER ECLIPSE 2007 OWNERS HAVE TAKEN INITIATIVE TO FIX OUR VEHICLES. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL SOUND EMITTED FROM THE BRAKES AFTER THE BRAKES WHERE APPLIED AND RELEASED. THE CONTACT ALSO INDICATED THAT THE SEAT BELT AND THE SRS WARNING LIGHTS WOULD CONTINUOUSLY ILLUMINATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. MY 17 YEAR OLD SON WAS DRIVING HIS 2007 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE GL WHEN HE RAN OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. HE OVER CORRECTED WHICH RESULTED IN LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE CAR. THE CAR FLIPPED SEVERAL TIMES AND HIT AN ELECTRIC POLE BEFORE COMING TO REST. THE CAR THEN BURST INTO FLAMES. MY SON AND HIS PASSENGERS MIRACULOUSLY WERE ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR BEFORE THE CAR WAS REPORTED TO HAVE EXPLODED AND BECOME COMPLETELY ENGULFED IN FLAMES. I HAVE SINCE BEEN ABLE TO DETERMINE THAT MITSUBISHI HAD A RECALL ON CERTAIN MODELS DUE TO CONCERNS WITH A DEFECTIVE PART ON THE FUEL TANK. WE PURCHASED THE CAR 3 MONTHS AGO FROM A DEALER AND THE CAR HAS A WARRANTY. WHEN I CONTACTED MITSUBISHI TO DETERMINE IF THE RECALL WORK HAD BE RECORDED ONTO HIS CAR. I WAS TOLD THE CAR WAS NOT ONE OF THE CARS WITH A RECALL. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE CAR DID NOT HAVE A RECALL LIKE OTHER 2007 MODELS YET THE CAR BURST INTO FLAMES AS A RESULT OF THE CRASH. SEECOMPONENT: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY POTENTIAL NUMBER OF UNITS AFFECTED: 45988 SUMMARY: MITSUBISHI IS RECALLING 45,988 MY 2005-2007 ENDEAVOR, GALANT, ECLIPSE COUPE, AND MY 2007 ECLIPSE SPYDER VEHICLES. THE BRACKET THAT IS THE ATTACHMENT POINT FOR THE LEFT REAR FUEL TANK MOUNTING STRAP MAY HAVE BEEN IMPROPERLY FORMED DURING A METAL STAMPING PROCESS. THE PROCESS MAY HAVE CAUSED THE METAL TO HAVE A SPLIT IN THE AREA WHERE THE BOLT THAT HOLDS ONE OF THE TWO FUEL TANK STRAPS TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE VEHICLE IS LOCATED. IN THE EVENT THE FUEL TANK IS FULL AND THE VEHICLE IS SUBJECT TO A SEVERE COLLISION, THE BRACKET MAY BREAK AND ALLOW THE FUEL TANK TO DROP DOWN, POSSIBLY CAUSING A FUEL LEAK. CONSEQUENCE: FUEL LEAKAGE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE COULD RESULT IN A FIRE. REMEDY: DEALERS WILL INSPECT TO SEE IF THE LEFT REAR FUEL TANK STRAP MOUNTING BRACKET HAS SPLITTING BEYOND A SPECIFIC LIMIT. VEHICLES WITH MODERATE TO SEVERE SPLITTING WILL BE REPAIRED USING A REINFORCEMENT CAP, A SPECIAL STRUCTURAL ADHESIVE. *TR
