2011 Endeavor

My vehicle was moving at 30 mph when a car suddenly crossed the path causing to hit the other vehicle on the passenger side. The incident caused some visible frontal body damage and trip to hospital with son (seated at back seat during accident). The airbag did not deploy but thankfully seatbelts did the job. I was in the assumption that airbags were made to deploy during these kind of accidents. Was the impact not strong enough or defective airbag? *tr

2004 Endeavor

Water is leaking in drivers side due to air con drain i had an accident due to slippery shoes. *tr

2008 Endeavor

From the time of purchase the car will not start after gas is put into it when the car is cut off. By pressing the accelerator slightly it will resume normal operation.the key does not come out of the ignition and the parking brake will not disengage it. Keyless entry will not open or lock the doors, while at local gas station went inside and car was not there when got outside as if it was stolen but in fact had rolled into traffic and hit a car at the red light causing damage to both vehicles! The police arrived to investigate. A accident report was made and damage and well being assessment taken. The dealer who sold this vehicle to me a few months ago should know what they are selling to customers prior to sell because in this case someone could have lost their lives. I called the dealer and he said it is my problem now and does not want to give me license plates from deposit owed which will all the issues and potential out of pocket costs plates should be given to me in good faith. *tr

2011 Endeavor

This vehicle has a potential manufacturer defect in the rear window regarding the defroster. After repeated use of the defroster heating up the window and cooling down the elements in the glass contracted and expanded and shattered the back window spontaneously causing an over $600 repair. The connector to the a/c & heater motor was charred. During internet research i discovered that this is very common occurrence. What people have said on-line was that it was a poor design, thus the connecting pins are too close which causes them to heat up and char the connector. If i would have had a new paper or backpack in that area, it could cause a fire while driving resulting in a fatal accident. I tried reconnecting, that part i used was charred a second time. I believe it should be recalled by the manufacturer. *tr

I own a 2006 mitsubishi endeavor which was purchased 2 months ago. On june 1st i was running an errand, got out of my vehicle ran into the mall only to come out 5 minutes later to find my car had rolled into the back of a 1994 corvette. When approached by the corvette owner he proceeded to tell me i left my car in drive. I responded by saying, no, i have my keys in my hand, that's not possible. When i looked at the gearshift it was in drive. I know that this is partically my fault, however, i should have never been able to take my key out of the iginition without in being in park. I did some research and found that the 2007 eclipse was recalled for this same problem. When i approached mitsubishi in calif about this i was told that's what i have insurance for and to take it to the local dealership to prove there was a defect - even though i had photos - upon taking it to the local dealship - i was told they couldn't help me since i didn't purchase my vehicle with them. The dealership also told me it's possible my vehicle was wrecked - i ran a carfaxs report proving otherwise. I have yet to hear back from mitsubishi corporate and am looking into consulting an attorney. All i want is my vehicle fixed - all the dealership has to do is check the ignition interlock cable and replace it if necessary and they won't even consider that. Instead they want to take my car apart to see if it was previously wrecked before they will consider fixing anything- again my vehicle wasn't wrecked. So now when i park i make sure my e brake is on and i check to see if i can remove my key and 9 out of 10 times i can while my car is still in drive. So if anyone out there can offer any information to help me proceed i would greatly appreciate it.

The a/c drain tube leaks and causes water to pool up on the driver's side floorboard underneath the carpeting. I have had the vehicle looked at two times and all they can do is blow the tube out, which only temporarily fixes the problem. It is recommended to have the dash removed in order to get to the box where the debris is located to repair the seal. I don't have hundreds of dollars to have this done, nor can i do without my vehicle for several days! This should be made a recall because it becomes not only a safety hazard, but also a health hazard. The water makes the floorboard wet, causes the windows to fog up on the inside and causes the flooring under the carpeting to possibly become corroded. Plus, it causes mold to grow which makes my allergies flair up. So, mitsubishi if you read this, please consider recalling all endeavors to fix this problem!! *tr

Water sometimes run over onto the gas and brake pedals, casing a dangerous situation. Blower motor has since stopped working as a result of water constantly running down on it.

2007 Endeavor

In october 2010, i backed out of my driveway and heard a loud noise (i was worried i had hit something). I looked around and noticed that the passenger side rear window was down and i did not put it down. When i tried to put it back up, it didn't move. I contacted my local mitsubishi dealer and they advised that the window regulator needed to be replaced. Luckily, i was still under warranty. Now, less than a year later, i was driving down a busy highway, and heard that same loud noise. Once again, i thought i had hit something or something had hit me. I pulled off to the side of the road to discover that my driver side rear window was down. I visited my local mitsubishi dealer and was told that the window regulator needed to be replaced. However, i am now out of warranty and am being told it will be $250 (before taxes and fees) to have this part replaced. I do understand that parts wear out and need replacing but i find it funny that both sides went out within one year of each other. I also don't think it's safe to have my children in the back where the windows seem to fall down at any given moment. I would like to know if anyone else is having this problem and to find out if there is any recall in the works. Thank you. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2005 mitsubishi endeavor. The contact stated that the driver side door window dropped and shattered from the interior of the vehicle. The contact mentioned that the door knob was fractured in half. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer and the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 130,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor. After the air conditioner was activated, the front driver and passenger side floorboards became moist. In addition, there was a burning odor and an abnormal noise coming from the air vent. The contact also stated that the blower motor for the air conditioner became inoperable. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the drainage tube for the air conditioner unit was clogged and needed to be unclogged. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 114,000.

Noise of sloshing water in the trunk and water dripping onto the driver's floor; soaking wet carpet. Very bad odor! Causing a sick feeling. Rear passenger windows failed; right and left approximately six months apart. The malfunction caused the windows to fall down into the door panel. Roaring noise coming from both front and rear wheels. *js

The h-vac system does not work. When air conditioning is used water seeps into the floorboard and completely soaks the floor and mat, which creates a very rank odor. To correct this problem it will cost the consumer approximately $800.00. This is clearly an engineer defect/flaw. We were told by an mitsubishi service rep that the following year (2005) it was corrected. Obviously mitsubishi was aware of this problem. Why wasn't a recall done on this problem? I think it certainly warrants one. How many other people have been affected by this? Why should the consumer assume costs for something that was not made correctly? I am baffled, as to why a car corporation would not take care of their customers? *tr

Back tailgate window switch and back tailgate door latch/switch/handles of early 2004 mitsubishi endeavors just fail with no warning and neither can be opened with or without key fob. After some searching i noticed on the internet that this is a common problem. This makes it not possible to access the spare tire, or in case of accident the rescue persons cannot access the car from the back door or window. I understand this has been an ongoing problem with the early 2004 models. I had to pay close to $400 to repair this. *tr

2004 Endeavor

I own a 2004 mitsubishi endeavor. The blower went out about 2 years ago. I had the blower motor replaced ($400.00) in january 2010 by expert tire (no mitsubishi dealer nearby). About 5 months later, the fan stopped blowing again intermittently. I would have to turn the a/c completely off for a day and then it would start working again. Also, it is leaking into the driver side floorboard. Now, i have a musty smell anytime i get in the car. The a/c appears to be working fine now, but anytime i drive in the car for a couple of hours, it stops working again. I've called mitsubishi and reported this several times over the last few years, but cannot get any help. They just tell me to bring it in to the service department. I don't live near a mitsubishi dealer, they don't offer a rental car, and i really don't have another $400.00 or more to spend on this problem. From what i've read online, there are alot of other endeavor owners who have this problem. Mitsubishi needs to take a look at this problem and do a recall. If this many people are having the problem, it's not a fluke accident. *tr

The contact stated that whenever she attempted to make a left or right turn, she heard and saw water leaking into the vehicle from the glove compartment. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the blower motor was replaced. The failure recurred three times over a two year period. The vehicle was taken back to the previous mechanic where the blower was replaced a second time. The vin was unavailable. The failure and current mileages were unknown. Updated 09/29/2010.*lj

Rolling down the rear windows causes an air vibration that is so loud and pulsing that it hurts your ears. Opening all the windows helps a little, but is still unacceptable. Opening just the rear windows is extremely painful. This problem has been noted by many mitsubishi endeavor owners. This is not the type of issue that can be identified, prior to purchasing the vehicle, when one buys the vehicle in the winter. Why would you ever roll the rear windows down? It is expected that you should be able to do so, without serious discomfort. *tr

Can a Mitsubishi Endeavor tow? Towing & payload

As an SUV, the Mitsubishi Endeavor is built to tow and haul. The exact maximum towing capacity and payload depend on the engine, drivetrain and whether it has the factory tow package, on a curb weight near 4,079 lb.

What sets your Endeavor's tow & payload rating:

  • Engine — a larger or turbocharged engine tows more than the base unit.
  • Drivetrain & axle — 4WD/AWD and the axle ratio shift the rating.
  • Tow package — the factory towing package (hitch, wiring, transmission cooler) raises the max.
  • Payload & GVWR — GVWR caps the combined load; more passengers and cargo lower how much you can tow.

Exact towing capacity, payload and GVWR are added per engine, drivetrain and trim — decode your VIN above, or check the driver's door-jamb and hitch labels. Curb weight from vehicle specifications.
