I HAVE A 2003 NISSAN 350Z WHICH I PURCHASED NEW FROM SELMA NISSAN IN JULY 2003. THE VEHICLE HAS HAD THE FRONT TIRES REPLACED BY THE DEALER THREE (3) TIMES, AVERAGING 17,000 TO 19,000 PER SET OF TIRES. EACH TIME THE DEALER HAS RE-ALIGNED THE FRONT END AND ASSURED ME THAT THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF. EACH TIME THAT THE VEHICLE HAS GONE IN FOR THIS PROBLEM, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCES SEVERE FRONT TIRE NOISE AND STEERING WHEEL SHAKE, ESPECIALLY DURING LOW SPEED AND BRAKING. BOTH FRONT TIRES DISPLAY EXCESSIVE WEAR TO THE INNER EDGE OF THE TIRES RENDERING THEM UNSERVICEABLE. TO NISSANS CREDIT, THEY HAVE ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM AND HAVE RE-ALIGNED THE FRONT END AND REPLACED THE LAST THREE SETS OF TIRES AT NO COST TO ME. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TODAY (01-12-2007) WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THE DEALER SAID THEY WILL CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER TO SEE IF REPLACEMENT WILL AGAIN BE AUTHORIZED. WHETHER OR NOT NISSAN COVERS THE REPLACEMENT ISN'T REALLY THE ISSUE. A MODERN VEHICLE THAT WEARS OUT FOUR SETS OF $600 TIRES AT UNDER 20,000 MILES EACH OBVIOUSLY HAS A PROBLEM THAT SHOULD RESULT IN A RECALL. NISSAN IS APPARENTLY UNABLE TO REPAIR THIS DEFECT, AND THE CAR IS NOT ONLY UNSAFE, BUT HAS A VERY LOW RESALE VALUE. *NM

FAX FROM (MD) RE THE PROBLEMS HE HAS EXPERIENCED WITH HIS DEFECTIVE 2003 NISSAN TOURING MODEL 350 Z. *TS THE CONSUMER STATED HE RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER/TSB REGARDING PREMATURE TIRE WEAR AND A ROARING NOISE. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TIRES. THE CONSUMER TRIED TO EXPLAIN THAT HE COULD HEAR THE NOISE. THE CONSUMER EXAMINED THE VEHICLE HIMSELF AND COULD CLEARLY SEE THERE WAS A PROBLEM. THE TIRES WERE WEARING ON THE INSIDE TOE. THE DEALER AGREED TO REPLACED THE TIRES, HOWEVER THEY HAD TO BE SPECIAL ORDERED. THE CONSUMER RETURNED TO HAVE THE TIRES REPLACED. HOWEVER, ONE MONTH LATER WITHIN 3,000 MILES THE CONSUMER HAD TO RETURN TO THE DEALER FOR UNEVEN TIRE WEAR. DURING THE TIRE REPLACEMENT FOR THE SECOND TIME, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT A REAR STRUT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED A BUY BACK OF THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE FAULTY SUSPENSION SYSTEM OF THE VEHICLE. *JB

BOUGHT 2003 NISSAN 350Z USED IN 2/06. KEYES WOODLAND HILLS NISSAN OF CA SOLD ME THE CAR WITH BOTH FRONT TIRES WORN DOWN TO THE WIRE ON THE INSIDE RIM. THEY STILL HAVE NOT DISCLOSED OR ACKNOWLEDGE THE ALIGNMENT/TIRE FEATHERING PROBLEM. ITS BEEN 12000 MILES & I NEED NEW TIRES. MY 2003 NISSAN 350 Z CONTINUES TO "EAT" FRONT TIRES. I HAVE REPLACED THE FRONT TIRES 4 TIMES AND ALIGNED ONCE IN UNDER 12 MONTHS. MY LAST SET LASTED A WHOPPING 2 MONTHS AND TWO DAYS! I NOTIFIED NISSAN OF THE PROBLEM IN FEBRUARY-05, JULY-05 AND TWICE IN SEPTEMBER-05 AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RETURN CALL AS PROMISED. NISSAN SAID THEY HAD "NO" RECALLS OR COMPLAINTS OF FRONT TIRE ISSUES DURING THE FIRST TWO CALLS. IN AUGUST-05, I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM NISSAN STATING THEY WERE GOING TO EXTEND THE WARRANTY FOR FRONT END ALIGNMENT AND POSSIBLE REPLACING THE TIRES FOR 03 & 04 350'S. BUT AS I WAS TOLD IN TWO EARLIER PHONE CONVERSATION, THEY KNEW OF NO PROBLEMS. APPARENTLY DURING THE MONTH OF AUGUST THEY DECIDED TO CHECK INTO THE COMPLAINTS SINCE THEY KNEW OF NONE EARLIER...RIGHT! THE LETTER STATES "NISSAN IS TRULY DEDICATED TO YOUR SATISFACTION"! NISSAN HAS NOT SHOWN ANY SIGNS OF DEDICATED TO 350 Z OWNERS. I FOR ONE! DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER'S SIDE TIRES WORE OUT ON THE INSIDE. THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED THE CONTACT THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WAS IMPROPERLY ALIGNED FROM THE FACTORY AND THAT WAS THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. THE TWO TIRES WERE REPLACED BY THE MANUFACTURER IN 2004. TWO MONTHS AGO, THE CONTACT NOTICED A GROWLING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED THE CONTACT THE TREAD WAS SEPARATING CAUSING THE TIRES TO WEAR OUR PREMATURELY.

NOTHING IN OWNERS MANUAL OR TECH BULLETIN ABOUT LIFE OF TIRE OR LIFE 2500 MILES. ONLY RECEIVED 8-29-05 BULLETIN /TIRES SO WORN IT WAS LIFE THREATENING!!! BECAUSE WEAR WAS 2.? FRONT TIRES ARE WEARING EXCESSIVELY ON THE INSIDE. THE CAR IS VERY HARD TO DRIVE AS IT PULLS TO THE RIGHT ONCE THE TIRES START TO WEAR. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. IT RAINS ALMOST DAILY, AND THE CAR IS EVEN WORSE ON SLIPPERY ROADS. I HAVE ALREADY REPLACED FRONT TIRES TWICE AND REAR TIRES ONCE. I HAVE ALSO HAD TO REPLACE THE BREAKS TWICE. THE BRAKES STILL SQUEAL AND SQUEAK BUT THE DEALER SAYS THE BRAKES ARE FINE. ONCE IT WAS ALIGNED THE SQUEAKING STOPPED FOR A FEW DAYS, THEN STARTED AGAIN.

I OWN A 2003 350Z. I GOT A FLAT TIRE ON MY CAR YESTERDAY. I TOOK IT IN TO BE REPAIRED. WHEN THEY JACKED IT UP THEY NOTICED THAT ALL FOUR OF MY TIRES ARE BALD ON THE INSIDE. THEY TOLD ME THAT MY CAR HAS BEEN RECALLED. THEY SAID THEY HAVE HAD MANY 350Z'S COME IN WITH THE SAME PROBLEM I AM HAVING. THEY ALSO STATED THAT THEY ARE ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. SO THAT'S WHEN I LOOKED IT UP ON YOUR WEBSITE BUT DIDN'T SEE IT ANYWHERE. I HAVE TALKED TO MANY OTHER TIRES PLACES AS WELL AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE HAD MANY PEOPLE COME IN WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THE EFFECT OF NISSAN'S ALIGNMENT/SUSPENSION PROBLEM IS NOT ISOLATED TO TIRE DAMAGE. I BOUGHT THE CAR USED IN 5/05 WITH 15,000 MILES. TIRES APPEARED NEW WHEN PURCHASED. CAR IS ONLY DRIVEN IN THE WINTER, I HAD THE "ROARING" NOISE AND VEHICLE SHAKING EFFECT ROUGHLY 5 MONTHS LATER. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE ISSUE. THEIR SOLUTION WAS TO REPLACE THE FRONT BRAKES AND ROTORS FOR ALMOST $400. I DID NOT NOTICE THE PROBLEM AGAIN UNTIL A RELATIVE DROVE THE CAR IN THE SPRING OF 06 AND THOUGHT I WAS CRAZY BECAUSE I WAS APPARENTLY IGNORING THE ROAR AND SHAKE OF THE VEHICLE WHEN TRAVELING AT SPEED UNDER 40 MPH. I REPLACED THE REAR TIRES AT THE SUGGESTION OF MY LOCAL GARAGE FOR OVER $500 YET THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. I NOW HAVE TO REPLACE THE FRONT TIRES FOR ANOTHER $500 OR SO AND THE CAR ONLY HAS 32000 MILES. 350Z TOURING MODEL PRE-MATURE TIRE WEAR. I ORDERED MY CAR ON 01/2003 AND TOOK DELIVERY ON 04/2006. AT WHICH TIME I DISCOVERING THAT NISSAN HAD PUT OUT ITS 1ST TSB BULLETIN DATED 01/23/2003. REFERENCE # NTB03-006. I HAVE 15,434 MILES ON MY CAR. I DRIVE IT VERY LITTLE AND THEREFORE, JUST STARTING TO EXPERIENCE THE PROBLEMS THAT I'VE BEEN READING ABOUT. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO THE DEALER AT LEAST THREE TIMES FOR THE SAME RECALL AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE FRONT. THE LASTEST RECALL NOTICE WAS DURING THE MONTH OF AUGUST 2005. AGAIN I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG THAT APPLIED TO THE RECALL NOTICE WHICH INVOLVED THE FRONT SUSPENSION AND UNEVEN TIRE WEAR. THE SERVICE REP TOLD ME AGAIN THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR. I DECIDED TO GET UP UNDER MY CAR AND DO MY OWN INSPECTION. WHAT I DISCOVERED WAS UNBELIEVABLE, MY TIERS WERE WEARING ON THE INNER TOE TO THE POINT THEY WERE ALMOST BALD AT 12,500 MILES. I RETURNED TO THE SERVICE REP. AND POINTED THIS OUT, HE IMMEDIATELY CHANGED HIS MIND AND ORDERED ME NEW TIRES AT NISSAN EXPENSE. AT 15,434 THE TIRES HAD BEGUN TO WEAR IN THE SAME MANNER. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER WHO WANTED ME TO PAY FOR AN ALIGNMENT. I REFUSE TO PUT ANOTHER DIME IN THIS CAR. HE SAID THAT I WOULD HAVE TO CONTACT NISSAN. I DID AND NOW NISSAN WILL NOT FIX MY CAR UNTIL I GET A RELEASE FROM ONE OF THOSE LEMON LAW ATTORNEYS THAT I HAD CONTACTED OUT OF DESPERATION. THAT'S ANOTHER STORY AND NOW I'M FIGHTING THEM TOO. I TOLD THE LAWYERS THAT I WANTED MY CAR REPLACED BUT LET THEM PERSUADE ME INTO A 4,500 MONETARY VERBAL AGREEMENT. WHEN I RECEIVED THE TERMS OF THE AGREEMENT FROM NISSAN I REFUSED TO SIGN IT AND RETURN IT TO THE LAWYER FOR PAYMENT. THE LAW FIRM CONTACTED ME AND INFORMED ME THAT A VERBAL AGREEMENT IN THE STATE OF MARYLAND IS THE SAME AS A BINDING CONTRACT. I AM IN THE PROCESS OF WRITING LETTERS TO ATTORNEY GENERAL, FEDERAL TRADE, BBB NISSAN AND THOSE SO CALLED LAWYERS WHO CLAIM TO REPRESENT US. *NM

NISSAN 2003 350Z - TIRE CUPPING, ROARING AND VIBRATION. NISSAN ISSUED A BULLITAN TO REPLACE THE ORIGINAL BRIDGESTONE FRONT TIRES AND COMPLETE AN ALIGNMENT WITH 7000M DUE TO A FACTORY SUSPENSION/ALIGNMENT PROBLEM. THE BRIDGESTONE REPLACEMENT TIRES HAVE 9000M AND THE PROBLEM IS REOCCURING - TIRE CUPPING, ROARING AND VIBRATION. THE CAR IS UNSTABLE ON CURVES AND BRAKING. NISSAN WILL NOT REPLACE THE FRONT TIRES A SECOND TIME AND REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THERE IS A FACTORY DEFECT WITH THE SUSPENSION. THIS DEFECT IS NOTED TO HAVE BEEN CORRECTED ON THE 2004 350Z. NISSAN DEALERSHIP IS RECOMMENDING A FULL TIRE REPLACEMENT WITHOUT ANY COMPENSATION ON THEIR PART OR CORRECTION TO THE SUSPENSION PROBLEM TO SEE IF THE FOUR TIRE REPLACEMENT WILL CORRECT THE PROBLEM. (WHY WOULD THIS CORRECT THE PROBLEM WHEN THE PROBLEM OCCURED AT 7000 TIRE MILEAGE AND AGAIN AT 9000 TIRE MILEAGE) I AM PURSUING EVERY AVENUE TO AN EQUITABLE RESOLUTION TO THIS NISSAN FACTORY DEFECT. MY 2003 NISSAN 350Z SPORTS CAR HAS A FRONT SUSPENSION PROBLEM THAT CAUSES EXTREME INNER TREAD TIRE WEAR IN VERY SHORT PERIODS OF TIME, IE, LESS THAN 5000 MILES. THE PROBLEM IS PERVASIVE IN ALL 03 MODELS AS INDICATED ON THE VARIOUS INTERNET CHAT ROOMS. NISSAN IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND HAS PROVIDED A FRONT END ALIGNMENT AND LEFT TO RIGHT/RIGHT TO LEFT TIRE ROTATION AND/OR TIRE REPLACEMENT - NEITHER OF WHICH CURE THE PROBLEM (INDICATIVE OF AN ENGINEERING DESIGN PROBLEM). THE EXTREME TIRE WEAR IS EVIDENT AT APPROXIMATELY 4-5000 MILES. NISSAN APPEARS TO NOT HAVE FOUND A SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM. I PURCHASE THIS VEHICLE AS SECOND OWNER WITH 24,000 MILES. AFTER A 2 YEARS OF USING THIS VEHICLE ON THE WEEKENDS, I START HEARING THE 5TH GEAR GRIND. I DID NOT PAID TO MUCH MIND BECAUSE IT DID IT NOW AND THEM, NOT EVERY TIME. 4 YEARS DOWN THE ROAD, IT DID IT MORE OFTEN AND I KNEW IT WAS IN FOR TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS.. ABOUT A WEEK AGO MY 3RD GEAR MADE A VIBRATION AND A HORRIBLE SOUND AND THAT WAS WHEN I KNEW SOMETHING REALLY WRONG WAS GOING ON.. TODAY MY CAR LOST 3RD GEAR, IT WON'T TAKE, AFTER I PUT THE VEHICLE ON 3RD I ACCELERATED AND NOTHING HAPPENS. 5TH GEAR STILL GRINDS AND BUT STILL WORK. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 NISSAN 350Z. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD EXHIBIT AN ABNORMAL GRINDING WHEN CHANGING TO THIRD GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. Vehicle shut off automatically going down interstate coming home from Mississippi. The car stoped running and would not crank back. Radiator fluid spuing all over the ground running hot but did not show overheating temp on dash never showed no over heating temp on gauges or nothing. Motor cranked up days later and was knocking due to knocking. Did not know it had a recall bought it the same year it broke down ran good until then but took over a year to get it tore apart and someone to rebuild the crankshaft because it casused the motor to knock and it caused it to mess it up and need a rebuild the motor and I bought parts and all and cost a good bit for someone to rebuild it for me CASUE I know nothing. Of motors. Or cars parts just basics. So sense that was the case what can be done since it CASUE it to litteraly break me down on interstate and caused senificent suffering and pain and costed alot to get hauled home al together about 7k including getting it hauled home from miss to Alabama paid for a ride to come get me from home hotel room hotel room bus ride and pay someone to rebuild the engine and paid for parts $7500.00 and still isn't done completely didn't trust the guy I got to rebuild it so got it back asap and motor is back together but several several parts not back on or together and they can't be trusted no more after the first month of having the car and working on it and I got it and put in in my garage and no one seems to tell you if they comeing to give estimate or not CASUE all people have contacted said they would come and never heard nor seen them again unreliable people so it still sets no one wanna work no more when asked to check it out for an estimate besides a very very expensive shop that I can't afford up front pay on payment CASUE I draw a disability check SSI 996.00 a month so impossible to have what a shop wants to charge anything that I can do for a dealership or someone to fix from due to being a. THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE DASH RECENTLY STARTED FLASHING IN THIS VEHICLE WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER TO GET IT DIAGNOSED AND THEY SAID THE LEFT SIDE AIRBAG MODULE WAS FAULTY AND THAT BOTH IT AND THE SUB-HARNESS WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. UPON RESEARCHING THE ISSUE, IT APPEARS THAT THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS. INTERESTINGLY ENOUGH, THIS SAME PART WAS RECALLED ON MY OWN CAR, A 2004 INFINITI G35 COUPE, ALSO A NISSAN PRODUCT. I CONTACTED NISSAN'S CONSUMER AFFAIRS DEPT. TO SEE IF THEY COULD OFFER SOME ASSISTANCE IN RESOLVING THIS ISSUE BECAUSE THE DEALER QUOTED 723$ TO GET IT REPAIRED. NISSAN WOULD NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE BECAUSE THE CAR WAS BEYOND ANY WARRANTIES... TRUE THE CAR IS NOW 13 YEARS OLD, BUT IT HAS BEEN PRETTY MUCH A GARAGED ITS ENTIRE LIFE AND HAS ONLY ABOUT 28,000 MILES. THERE WAS NO REASON FOR THESE PARTS TO GO BAD OTHER THAN BEING DEFECTIVE... I OWN A 2003 NISSAN 350Z WHICH WAS PURCHASED IN MARCH OF THIS YEAR. THE CAR HAS APPROXIMATELY 4,000 MILES TO DATE. I WAS RECENTLY IN AN AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT WHERE THE RESULT OF THE CRASH WAS IN THE FRONT OF MY CAR. I WAS TRAVELING 30-35 MILES AN HOUR WHEN THE CRASH OCCURRED. *AK THANKFULLY I WAS WEARING MY SEATBELT BECAUSE MY AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY WHILE THE PASSENGER SIDE DID DEPLOY. I FEEL THIS IS A SERIOUS DEFECT IN THIS CAR. IF I WAS NOT WEARING MY SEATBELT, I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY HURT. I RECEIVED A NOTICE IN THE MAIL FROM NISSAN IN THE SPRING OF 2004 CONCERNING A TOE OUT CONDITION THAT COULD CAUSE IRREGULAR TIRE WEAR ON THE INNER EDGE OF THE FRONT TIRES. I TOOK MY CAR IN ON 7/29/04 TO THE NISSAN DEALER & ASKED IF THIS WAS GOING TO BE AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THE Z & WAS TOLD,"NO, ONCE IT IS ADJUSTED, IT WILL REPAIR THE PROBLEM". SUPPOSEDLY FIXED, WITH NEW FRONT TIRES AND 1 YEAR LATER, I RETURNED TO NISSAN WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I QUESTIONED THEM ABOUT THE PREVIOUS YEAR SERVICE & WAS TOLD "I PROBABLY HIT A POT HOLE AND THAT I NEEDED AN ALIGNMENT,WHICH I WAS CHARGED FOR, BUT MY CONCERNS ABOUT THE TIRE FEATHERING WERE IGNORED. VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A DEFECTIVE MATERIAL REACTION TO AN ALTERED ROAD SURFACE IN FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE RIM. A SET OF RAISED SUBWAY TRACKS RAN PARALLEL WITH THE ROAD I WAS TRAVELING ON. AS THE ROAD FORKED, I WAS FORCED TO TRAVERSE THE TRACKS IN ORDER TO FOLLOW THE APPROPRIATE ROAD. AS SOON AS THE INSIDE EDGE OF FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE RIM CAME IN CONTACT WITH THE SUBWAY RAIL, THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY "BOTTOMED OUT". AFTER BRINGING THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD I INVESTIGATED THE TIRE AND RIM AND FOUND NO APPARENT DAMAGE. AFTER COMPLETELY REMOVING THE RIM FROM THE VEHICLE IT WAS IMMEDIATELY APPARENT THAT THE INSIDE EDGE OF THE RIM HAD CAVED IN. THE OUTER EDGE OF THE RIM WAS UNDAMAGED, AS WAS THE TIRE ITSELF, BUT THE OUTER EDGE OF THE RIM SEEMED TO HAVE COLLAPSED IN ON ITSELF. THE IMPACT OF THE VEHICLE BOTTOMING OUT MUST HAVE DAMAGED THE ROTOR AND WHEEL STUDS BECAUSE WITHIN 500 FEET OF INSTALLING THE SPARE TIRE THE STUDS THEMSELVES BROKE FORCING ME TO HAVE THE VEHICLE FLATBEDDED TO THE DEALERSHIP. HAD IT TOWED TO GWINNETT PLACE NISSAN IN DULUTH GA (THE CLOSET DEALERSHIP TO MY HOME)- THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR - SO I WAS STUCK WITH WRECKER FEE. 2ND TIME-- 8/16/05 HAD TO SLOW DOWN DUE TO TRAFFIC, AND WHEN I SHIFTED INTO 3RD GEAR TO SPEED UP AGAIN ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING. I SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND STARTED IT AGAIN, ONCE PLACED INTO GEAR IT STOPPED RUNNING. I PULLED OVER AND TRIED IDLING BETWEEN 3000 RPM AND NOTICED THAT ENGINE SURGED B'TWEEN 2500 AND 3000 RPM. AND RAN ROUGH. IF I RELEASED ACCELERATOR ENGINE WOULD IDLE VERY LOW AND STOP RUNNING. STARTED IT ONE LAST TIME TO SEE IF I COULD GET GOING BUT WHEN I PLACED IT IN GEAR AND RELEASED CLUTCH IT STOPPED RUNNING. I CALLED GWINNETT PLACE NISSAN AND HAD VEHICLE TOWED THERE. I INFORMED THE SERVICE TECH THAT IN NISSAN'S WEB SITE THERE WAS A RECALL FOR 350Z FOR A "CRANK POSITION SENSOR" AND THE VIN# IN MY CAR WAS WITHIN THAT GROUP. HE LOOKED AT THEIR DATABASE AND SAID THERE WERE NO OUTSTANDING CODES FOR MY CAR. THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH MY CAR THE SECOND TIME AROUND NEITHER. BOTH OCCURRANCES, DEALERSHIP STATED THERE ARE NO STORED CODES IN ECU AND NO PENDING CODES FOR THIS VEHICLE. I CALLED NISSAN NORTH AMERICA NATIONAL CONSUMER AFFAIRS AT 888-737-2647 AND THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR MY CAR AND THE VIN # WAS WITHIN THE RANGE STATED BY NISSAN - AND GAVE ME A FILE # 5039832 AND ARE STILL CHECKING TO SEE IF THEY CAN HELP ME.

AFTER BUYING A 2003 350 Z NISSAN, NISSAN REPLACED THE FRONT TIRES TWICE DUE TO BAD ALIGNMENT AND TIRE WEAR AND NOISE. MY 2003 NISSAN 350Z WAS EXHIBITING THE EXACT SYMPTOMS OF A NHSTA RECALL NUMBER 03V455000 ( NISSAN NUMBER R2202) RECALL. I CONTACTED NISSAN DEALERS AND NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS WITH MY VIN AND WAS TOLD IT DIDN'T FALL UNDER THE RECALL. I THEN TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE NISSAN DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT TO HAVE IT DIAGNOSED AND THE DEALER CONCLUDED THAT BOTH (2) CAM POSITION SENSORS AND THE CRANK POSITION SENSOR, WERE FAILING AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST TO ME OF 378.86 WHICH I PAID AND HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE BACK ONLY A FEW DAYS (<100 MILES) BUT SO FAR SEEMS TO HAVE RESOLVED THE ISSUE. I AGAIN CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING THEY WOULD DO. I FURTHER EXPLAINED MY BELIEF THAT THE RECALL WAS MORE WIDESPREAD THAN INITIALLY THOUGHT BY NHSTA AND NISSAN TO NO AVAIL. INTERNET TOLD ME THAT IT WAS CAUSED BY FAULTY CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR, WHICH WAS EXACTLY WHAT NISSAN DEALER IN DUBLIN CALIFORNIA REPLACED. IN FACT THEY REPLACED BOTH CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSORS. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DID NOT COME ON WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED AS INDICATED BY THE DEALER. THE ENGINE WOULD NOT START DESPITE MANY TRIES. AFTER 10-15 MINUTES OR SO, THE ENGINE STARTED AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. SOME OF THE 350Z WAS RECALLED. HOWEVER DEALER INDICATED THAT MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT ON THE LIST. I FEEL THE NISSAN SHOULD PAY FOR MY $674.44 REPAIR BILL AS IT IS VERY DANGEROUS FOR A VEHICLE STALLING WHILE DRIVING.

IN 2005, I BOUGHT A 2003 NISSAN 350Z. IN EARLY NOVEMBER OF 2011, I STARTED HAVING THESE PROBLEMS. THE ENGINE WOULD DIE SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING, THE CHECK ENGINE AND TCS LIGHTS WOULD COME ON, AND THE CAR WOULD RUN VERY ROUGH ONCE IT DID DECIDE TO START. I TOOK THE CAR INTO A NISSAN SERVICE CENTER ON 11/08/2011. THE MILEAGE ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE INVOICE WAS 83,906. ALONG WITH THE PROBLEMS NOTED ABOVE, THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN ADDED DIAG P0340 AND C1130 STORED, LOSS OF ENGINE SIGNAL. REPLACED CAMSHAFT AND CRANKSHAFT SENSORS. MY COST FOR THE REPAIR: $618.61. MY CAR HAD NOT ONE, BUT EVERY SYMPTOM OF A RECALLED CAR. THE CAMSHAFT AND CRANKSHAFT SENSOR (VERY SPECIFIC REPAIRS) WERE NEEDED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM; SAME AS A RECALLED VEHICLE. THE INCIDENT FIRST OCCURRED DURING HIGHWAY DRIVING WHERE THE ENGINE SUDDENLY LOST POWER COMPLETELY. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. DT: CONSUMER OWNED A NISSAN 350Z TRACK VERSION 2003. HE TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR RECALL REPAIR ABOUT A YEAR AGO. CONSUMER STATED IT WAS A RECALL, HOWEVER, COULD NOT FIND RECALL ON NHTSA WEB SITE. NTB03-046 WAS THE NUMBER IDENTIFYING THE RECALL THAT CONSUMER HAD. REPAIR WORK WAS DONE ON 6-11-04. THEN, ON JULY 19, 2005 CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO GARDENA NISSAN IN CALIFORNIA, AND THEY TOLD HIM THAT THE PROBLEM INVOLVED FRONT TIRES WEARING OUT ON THE INSIDE DURING REPAIR WORK THEY REPLACED THE RIGHT FRONT COMPRESSION ROD. ONGOING ALIGNMENT / TIRE FEATHERING ISSUES WITH NISSAN 350Z I HAVE HAD MY TIRES SWAPPED SIDE TO SIDE SEVERAL TIME + REPLACEMENT TIRES AND MANY ALIGNMENTS. THE 350Z WILL NOT STAY IN ALIGNMENT AND EATS FRONT TIRES EVERY 7000-12000 MILES. IT WEARS THE INSIDES OF THE TIRES TO THE POINT OF REPLACEMENT WITH OVER 80% TREAD ON THE REST OF THE TIRE. THEY ARE NOW NOT PERFORMING ALIGNMENTS ON MY CAR EVEN THOUGH THEIR TSBS STATE THAT THEY WILL AND WILL REPLACE TIRES UP TO 30,000 MILES. THEY STOPPED DOING ALIGNMENTS AND TIRE ROTATIONS/REPLACEMENT BEFORE 20K MILES IN MY SITUATION. THE STOCK TIRES ARE UP TO $400 A PIECE, SO THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. THE DEALERS WANT $80 FOR AN ALIGNMENT EVERY 4-6 MONTHS + TIRE PURCHASE. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND NISSAN REFUSES TO ISSUE A REAL RECALL, EVEN THOUGH EVERY 03 350Z HAS THIS ISSUE. IT WAS BLAMED ORIGINALLY ON THE SUSPENSION BEING STRESSED DURING SHIPMENT FROM JAPAN. I HAVE ALSO HAD DUAL REAR AXLE REPLACEMENT, TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT, CLUTCH ASSMBLY REPLACEMENT, JUST TO NAME A FEW. THE VEHICLE BECOME VERY UNSTABLE WITH THE FRONT ALIGNMENT ISSUE. JAN 03 THE BRAKES WOULD SQUEAL LOUDLY WHEN BRAKING IN COLD WEATHER. THE TWO FRONT TIRES CONTINUALLY LOST AIR AND NEEDED TO BE REFILLED EVERY 3-4 WEEKS. UPON DEALER INSPECTION, NOTHING WAS FOUND WRONG. UPON RECALL NOTICE OF THE GROWLING OF THE TIRES (AROUND APRIL 04) THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE TWO FRONT TIRES WERE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE BROUGHT BACK TWICE DUE TO THE ALIGNMENT BEING DONE INCORRECTLY (STEERING WHEEL WAS CROOKED AND SLIP & VDC OFF LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED).SINCE THE TIRE REPLACEMENT, THE TWO NEW FRONT TIRES STILL LOSE AIR AND NEED TO BE FILLED UP EVERY 2-3 WEEKS NOW. THE TIRES OCCASIONALLY SQUEAL LOUDLY WHEN BRAKING. DEC 04 THE DASHBOARD WAS LIT UP WITH THE FOLLOWING WARNING LIGHTS:1. BRAKES 2. VDC OFF 3. SLIP UPON TOWING THE VEHICLE INTO NISSAN (BECAUSE THE FRONT PASSENGER TIRE WENT MYSTERIOUSLY FLAT AGAIN), NISSAN DEALER HAS ADVISED THAT THE FRONT BRAKE PADS ARE WORN THROUGH TO LESS THAN 10% AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. THEY ALSO REPORTED THE FRONT TIRES HAD NO HOLES AND THE TIRE BEADING WAS FINE. THEY SUGGESTED THE TIRES GO LOW AND THE WARNING INDICATOR SOUNDS BECAUSE IT IS A SENSITIVE CAR. IT IS MY PERSONAL THEORY THAT THE VEHICLE HAS A DESIGN FLAW WITHIN THE SUSPENSION AND THE VEHICLE IS ALSO PLACING TOO MUCH WEIGHT AND PRESSURE ON THE FRONT TIRES WHICH HAS CAUSED: 1. GROWLING 2.
