How to read a Nissan Altima VIN — every digit explained

Every Nissan Altima carries a unique 17-character VIN stamped at the factory. Each position is a code — together they spell out where, when and how your car was built. Here's exactly what every digit means.

1–3 · WMI4T1
4–8 · VDSBF1FK
9 · Check5
10 · YearH
11 · PlantU
12–17 · Serial123456
  • WMI (1–3) — country & manufacturer. 4T1 = Toyota, built in the USA.
  • VDS (4–8) — model line, body style, engine & restraint system.
  • Check digit (9) — a math check that proves the VIN is genuine.
  • Model year (10) — the year it was built. H = 2017.
  • Plant (11) — which factory assembled this Altima.
  • Serial (12–17) — the unique sequential production number.

Model-year code (10th digit)

The 10th character is the model year. It cycles through letters and numbers, skipping I, O, Q, U, Z and 0 to avoid confusion:

H2017 J2018 K2019 L2020 M2021 N2022 P2023 R2024 S2025 T2026

Where to find your Altima VIN

  • Dashboard — driver's side, visible through the windshield from outside.
  • Driver's door jamb — on the manufacturer sticker when you open the door.
  • Paperwork — vehicle registration, title and insurance card.
  • Engine bay & frame — stamped on the firewall or chassis on many models.

Also on 2002 altima and sentra vehicles, certain engine operating conditions may cause the pre-catalyst to overheat and damage the catalyst substrate.

Risk. Either of these two conditions could result in a fire.

Fix. Dealers will remove the protruding portion of the exhaust pipe hanger pin. In addition to the corrective action, in order to reduce the risk of fire in the event of poor or improper maintenance that could result in oil spillage, heat shield(s) will be installed on the pre-catalyst and exhaust tube. Owner notification began on july 28, 2003. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact nissan at 1-800-647-7261. Nissan recall nos. R3007, r3014, r3015, r3016, r3017. Also on 2002 altima and sentra vehicles, certain engine operating conditions may cause the pre-catalyst to overheat and damage the catalyst substrate. If substrate particles enter the combustion chamber, they could score the cylinder walls, resulting in increased oil consumption. If the engine oil level is not checked on a periodic basis and drops below the low level, and the driver continues to operate the vehicle ignoring noticeable engine noise, engine damage may occur which could result in a fire. The pre-catalyst will be tested to ensure it is working properly and replaced if necessary. If damage is found inside the pre-catalyst, it will be necessary to replace the engine.

Air Bags:frontal:driver Side:inflator Module03V061000

What's wrong. On certain vehicles, the electrical connector for the driver air bag may come loose. If the connector comes loose, the supplemental air bag warning light flashes intermittently.

Risk. The driver side air bag will not deploy in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of personal injury.

Fix. Dealers will install a retaining clip on the clock spring electrical connector. Owner notification began april 21, 2003. Owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact nissan at 1-800-647-7261.

The opticel surface of the reflector is corroded inhibiting the performance of the upper and lower beams which fails to conform to the photometric requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 108, lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment.

Risk. Decreased lighting visibility may result in a vehicle crash.

Fix. Eagle eyes will notify owners and offer reimbursement for any noncompliant headlights. The recall began on december 11, 2007. Owners may contact eagle eyes at 1-800-568-1098.

Engine And Engine Cooling03V455000

What's wrong. On certain passenger vehicles, the circuit board for the crank position sensor or cam position sensor may have an improper solder joint due to solder deformation caused by heat stress accelerated by the existence of flux residue during the soldering process.

Risk. This could cause the "service engine soon" warning light to come on, create a no start condition, cause reduced engine power, or cause the engine to stop running without warning during vehicle operation, which could result in a crash.

Fix. Dealers will replace the crank position sensors. Camshaft position sensor(s), and in some cases, the variable timing control sensor(s). Vehicles involved in a previous recall campaign, 01v357, are also included in this new campaign. The replacement sensors used in that campaign are also affected. Owner notification began on december 22, 2003. Owners should contact nissan at 1-800-647-7261 or infiniti at 1-800-662-6200.

At extremely cold temperatures, moisture in the fuel tank could freeze and form ice crystals. These ice crystals may obstruct the suction opening of the fuel pump.

Risk. This can prevent the supply of fuel to the engine and cause the engine to stop, which could result in a crash without warning.

Fix. Dealers will install a screen at the suction opening of the fuel pump to prevent ice crystals from blocking the opening. Owner notification began on august 18, 2003. Owners should contact nissan at 1-800-333-0829.

Engine And Engine Cooling07V527000

What's wrong. On certain passenger vehicles equipped with a 2.5l engine, the crankshaft position sensor can overheat causing a brief interruption in the signal output from the sensor.

Risk. If the interruption in the signal from the crankshaft position sensor is so brief that the electronic control module (ecm) logic does not have time to diagnose the condition, the engine may stop running without warning while the vehicle is driven at a low speed increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix. Dealers will reprogram the ecm free of charge. Certain my 2006 altimas which have been previously remedied under recall campaign 06v223 (nissan r0606) are not included in this recall since the reprogramming for 06v223 also included this reprogramming. What's wrong. Certain pro-a motors corner lamps, turn signals, and headlights sold as replacement lamps for use on certain passenger vehicles listed above. Some combination lamps that are not equipped with amber side reflectors fail to conform to federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 108, lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment.

Risk. Without the amber reflectors, the vehicle will be poorly illuminated, possibly resulting in a vehicle crash without warning.

Fix. Pro-a motors will notify owners and offer to repurchase the lamps. The recall began on april 3, 2006. Owners may contact pro-a motors at 323-838-2988.

What's wrong. Ride control is recalling certain front strut mounts branded as gabriel ride control or arvinmeritor, p/nos. 142435, 142193, 142305, 142303, sold as replacement equipment for the vehicles listed above. The affected front strut mounts did not contain a weld joint between the bearing housing and the rate plate.

Risk. The absence of the weld can allow the strut to come out of its mounting position under certain extreme driving conditions which could cause damage to surrounding vehicle components increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix. Ride control will notify owners of record and replace the affected parts free of charge. The safety recall began on march 15, 2010. Owners may contact ride control at 1-248-458-1396.

Follow-up to issue #11479380 Just 6 days ago, I filed a complaint regarding acceleration issues with my 2017 Nissan Altima. Unfortunately, yesterday (8/20/2022), I was involved in an accident with the car as a direct result of these ongoing acceleration issues. I was the driver in the driveway of a friend’s house and as I tried to pull closer to the house (to perform a K-turn in a tight spot), with my foot (lightly) on the gas pedal, the car suddenly surged forward and hit the house. A passenger and I both experienced minor injuries (no medical attention required), and both the car and the house now require repairs. I’m in touch with both my insurance and Nissan about this accident, but no longer feel safe driving this vehicle (which is now pending repairs due to this accident). I wanted to post a follow-up since there was an accident directly related to this issue.

2008 Altima

I have taken my car into the dealership 5 times due to the fact that my clutch sticks to the floor and i have to manually pull it up. Each time that i have taken it they have provided no remedy. I expressed several time of how it has put me in dangerous situations while driving and got the sorry bout your luck tune. The last time it happened it resulted in my wife having a wreck in the car. I called the dealership and have filed two complaints with the manufacturer and get the same treatment. *kb

2005 Altima

The clutch pedal lost pressure after idling for over thirty minutes, while in traffic, and after the engine has gotten hot and being driven for a couple of hours. The pedal will fall to the floor and you cannot switch gears. The stick shift won't even move into neutral and the car jerks really hard. It will sometimes cut off in the middle of driving if you don't reach down and pull the pedal up with your hand. This has cause me to run off the road because i could not down shift or go into neutral, i recently ended up tapping the rear of someone elses vehicle at which my daughter is still complaining her neck hurts. This is a defective part dealing with the hydraulics and is very dangerous. A lawsuit is sure to be on the way now that i have wen to several dealerships only for them to tell me nothing is wrong with the car because it won't do it for them. All nissan forums are filled with customers having the same issues with these year model cars. Nissan is about to kill somebody. *tr

I had my car in park. I went to close my garage door and heard a noise from the car all of a sudden it started going in reverse. I could not stop the car and got pined under and the car took me with it about 15 feet. I know the cars gears sliped it could not have happened any other way.

1999 Altima

I entered the freeway, and a car tried to come into my lane so i moved to the right then my car began to swerve from left to right then i began to spin and i ended up facing the opposite direction of the traffic. Both the front and back axles broke and the tires are bent . *jb

2024 Altima

This request is due to my concern that a possible manufacturing or other defect in the 2024 Nissan Altima’s steering and/or wheel mechanisms caused a sudden loss of steering control and resulted in a collision and serious injuries. The car was taken possession by National Car Rental. I am unsure if the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others, but it has been reported to the manufacturer (Nissan), my insurance company (State Farm), and the car rental company (National). I don't think there were any warning lights. The following is what I experienced. I was driving, passengers were in the front and rear right seats. The car was in the right lane on [XXX] heading into an underpass when the Altima experienced a sudden jolt in the steering wheel with smoke coming out of the steering wheel; steering turned very stiff as if it had lost power and the car pulled to the right and off the road. I struggled to maintain control over the vehicle; nonetheless, given the narrow shoulder of the underpass and the sudden difficult steering, the car collided lengthwise along the passenger side against a cement barrier and metal guardrail. The front and back passenger-side airbags deployed, striking both passengers; rear seat passenger was seriously injured; driver and front passenger were bruised. 1).Sometimes I can smell exhaust gas inside the car room like in my previous car Nissan Maxima SE 2008, which is extremely dangerous. 2).The rear camera works no so well - sometimes rearview disappearing completely. Also, approximately a year ago, I received a letter regarding Nissan Altima SV 2017 recall(s). I contacted several different Nissan dealers in Miami but nobody knows about the recall. Could you explain please what is going on with recalls? Thanks.

2005 Altima

While stopped in traffic in sevierville, tennessee on 2/12/2005, my 2005 altima was hit in the rear by a car that failed to stop. The driver of that car was determined to be at fault by police. Four vehicles were involved in the accident with my car being the most damaged. Police estimated the car that hit me was going approximately 30-35 mph. At impact. The impact drove my car forward into the vehicle in front of me. The rear of my car was destroyed and the front impact was hard enough that the radiator was burst and front suspension members and the hood were crumpled. At no time during the accident did either of the front air bags in my altima deploy! However, the seat belts did lock in position and probably saved us from more serious injury. Injuries for those in my car (four people) consisted of cuts, scrapes and bruises accompanined with soreness. Since it is only two days since the accident, there may be other possible problems arise. I thought air bags were suppose to deploy in cases such as this? I note from research that nissan has had numerous complaints and problems with their air bag failures. Something needs to be done to stop this!*ak

I purchased a brand new 2006 nissan altima on january 10th 2007 it only had 30 miles on it, i loved the car had minor problems with noise etc, had the oil changed on time through the dealer i never received any notice about the recall? A car pulled out in front of my car so my front end hit the side of his car and my car instantly caught on fire? The police/fire dept can not figure out why it caught on fire because my car was traveling the speed limit which was 35 mph? They think something was wrong with my car and that i should look into a recall or defect on the vehicle i wished i had known about the oil recall because maybe this is why my car caught on fire it is a total loss i have no car and now am fighting with the insurance companies to get a new car i do not want a nissan altima and this car was my wish car i really liked the altimas? *tr

While driving north on i15 at the el cajon pass in calif., my 2007 nissan altima stalled. I pulled to the side of the road and tried to restart it. It would not start so i was going to get out of the car when black smoke came out of the air conditioning vents. The passenger and i got out of the car and, at that moment, flames came out from under the hood. We got away from the car and called 911. With in a minute the car was fully engulfed in flames. As we continued to walk away from the car, the hillside next to the car caught on fire. We moved to the median, but the fire jumped to the median which surrounded us in fire and smoke. A truck stopped and drove us out of the situation. After getting home, i found on the internet that there was a recall (june 2007) of my model of car because it might catch on fire. I was not told of this upon purchasing the car, when i had it in for service 3 months later, or by mail the entire time i owned the car. *tr

Accident occurred on june 14th. Received a recall notice on june 18 concerning the electronic control module and the vehicle could shut off and this cause an accident. This is what happened and because i was not aware of the recall the insurance payoff does not even cover the loan. I feel that nissan was negligent because they sent this recall 7 months too late. I am currently without a vehicle. *tr

Nissan claims that they have fixed their recalls but car stalled on a hwy where speed limit was 70 my family & myself could have got killed. I paid 1100 dollars to fix it. Engine light was back on did oil change car keeps burning oil every day i have to check it and add oil then they tell me i need a new engine have called over 50 times & left messages they tell me they can not give me a new engine but this is an on going problem & they know about it. There are a lot of people with this car & same problem they need a new engine & no one is doing anything about it. They should give them a new engine for free because they manufacture these cars wrong & are still manufacturing cars with problems then they wonder why people aren't buying there cars. This is a safety issue to anyone who owns this car & until people start getting killed they won't due anything about it. Have spent a lot of money trying to fix this lemon. They also tell you that you need a catalytic converter. Is it going to take several death please someone do something immediately. All my recalls are up to date so this is not the problem. *tr

While driving my car the day before, engine suddenly stopped on a five lane hwy in center lane during heavy traffic at speed limit of 70mph. My son and i were stranded helpless in the midst of cars heading right towards us. An hour later geico sent a tow to take us to the nissan dealership where i purchased my car. The stall was due to a recall on the engine sensor issued in 2006. Dealer had denied recall multiple times prior but had finally recognized it. Left the car overnight to have ecn reprogrammed and was told that it needed diagnostic for $192.14. I stated i wanted to take it elsewhere and was called the next morning to come pick up my car. Got there car was running, asked if there had ever been any other problems with this model and told no. Got 1/2 of mile and loud noise and loss of power. Engine completely died while driving and lost steering and brakes while in traffic. To avoid going into next lane oncoming traffic, i swerved other way into telephone poll. Engine completely dead since then and has been proclaimed as totaled due to locked engine. Engine qr25de was taken off sales floor in 2006 and i received no information at all. Dealer told me he never heard of any problems with my car. On receipt from dealer it states car is unsafe to drive but dealer never gave me receipt to sign and never even eluded to car doing same thing it had done less than 24 hours prior. Said he put oil in car and it started up and was ready for me to pick up. I had just had oil change and had no oil leaks whatsoever. My son is traumatized and can't sleep nights from first incident and i have no vehicle and can't get to doctor for my back, leg, and knee injury i suffered in the crash. Nissan says 6 weeks until they send an inspector to see car and i'm paying for each day it sits on the lot of mechanic. Still have not even dispatched orders and it is now 9 days later. My life and my son's were knowingly put in danger twice due to corp & dealer negligence.

The lack of lighting indicator makes that car very dangerous to drive at dusk & dawn times. The dash board is slightly less lit when the lights are on. The driver would not know whether the board light is in the "more" or the "less" status. Unlike in older cars, the dash board is not dark when the light is not on so that the driver is alerted. This is a major human factor defect. It is the cause of collisions at times of rush hour traffic. I am a professional engineer with utmost qualifications in human reliability analyses(hra). For a period of 9 years, i was the elected chairman of a large international group of hra engineers responsible for minimizing human errors at nuclear power plants. Our car was totaled. My wife had 4 broken ribs. I had several injuries. *tr

Issue: unintended acceleration conditions: 2pm/clear/parking lot while making u-turn to the right, brakes did not respond. Stepped again on brakes, more firmly, but did not slow car which continued to roll slowly forward about 7 mph. Suddenly, loud revving, car continued forward roll. Immediately, added left foot to brake, pressing with full weight. No response. About 2-3 second after revving/hard braking, the car opened full throttle and hurtled forward about 1-1/2 to 2 car lengths; slammed into wall. Airbag did not deploy my car had only 25290 miles (only about two years of normal usage) at the time the system failed. My left knee sustained small gash from the underside of the steering column when i was slammed back after impact threw me forward, forehead knocked the upper steering wheel. Note: about 1 month prior to accident, the audio controls on my steering wheel honked the horn instead. The next day, they were ok. The same thing happened when tested at the collision center after accident; it's on tape. The rep at the collision center was informed of the switch problem from the start. When i them tested days later, the audio controls worked properly. Also, an indicator on the dash went from showing the mpg with a bar as i accelerated or slowed, then switched to a digital report of 18 mpg/city. It kept shifting between these indicators without my interference. Finally, the airbag failed to deploy although impact clearly exceeded 15 mph. I believe there was a severe failure of the electrical system; the cvt system with its sensors, etc. Is dependent on it. My account parallels reports i have uncovered about sudden acceleration. I noted that often an event was precipitated by a slowing, and a turn. When i recently talked to a nissan tech about the switches, airbag, indicator failures, he mentioned pinched harness could be a possibility.

This car has been a lemon since day one, in and out of dealership for one reason or the other, it started with the car running hard, dealership told me it was because i have broke the car in and now this is how they run, took it back again 3 to 4 more times with same problem, told them car idles high, shifts bad, runs bad, they said nothing wrong, i do alot of highway miles and as soon as i was over the miles and out of the warrenty they told me that the motor mounts were gone only 800 to get fixed, i was then hit by a car head on and really hurt i suffered major back problems , come to find out i probaby could have prevented some of the damage to my self if i had a saver car, my air bags didn;t deploy. This time the flash made the seat vibrate and before I had a chance to react, I totally lost control Of my steering even though I had my hand family placed on each side of the wheel none of my maneuvers resulting in the tires moving in any direction. I was trying to straighten myself out but the trajectory Steered me to the right side of the road and up over the curb which tore out my front end And, had it not been for my superb braking skills, id be headfirst into a big cement hole on the side of the road. Brakes We’re locked out until I pressed on them 15,000 times it seems. Fortunately I am the only one hurt, I’m grateful that no one else has been involved in this malfunction of supposed quality machinery. But this is a ridiculous thing to have happened to listen 1000 miles in the car, this thing has been malfunctioning since the first day that I drove it off the lot. No clue who to get in touch until I started researching this Very same thing, and I am terrified for anyone else driving one of these vehicles right now, because It can Totally happened to you, and you may not be so lucky to have all the injuries only for yourself.

I was standing in dining room when i heard a loud sound. I walked outside and saw metal cabinet (which contained various cleaning products, spray paint, etc) next to front left tire of 2017 nissan altima on fire. I did not walk far enough off porch to examine if car was on fire at that time. I ran back inside and got my son and his girlfriend out of house. I called 911 and moved friends vehicle (which was parked behind mine.) my son reported seeing front left tire of the parked altima located inside carport on fire and attempted to put it out with fire extinguisher. Car and part of house burned until fire department arrived and put fire out. Car was deemed total loss by insurance and house is unlivable due to fire and smoke damage. *dt vin is invalid*jb

The lack of lighting indicator makes that car very dangerous to drive at dusk & dawn times. The dash board is slightly less lit when the lights are on. Purchased our 2006 nissan altima in jan of 2006. After a few months of using this car we noticed the trunk did not operate properly. When the car is on a flat surface as it was when we purchased it the trunk lid will stay open, if the car is situated on any kind of incline the trunk will slam shut. My children were injured several times as was i when the trunk slammed down on our heads. The reason is visual, the trunk was poorly designed, there is no tension at all. The trunk actually swings like a pendulum . I took it into the shop four times over this past year. Today, 3/22/2007 the nissan dealership finally did the needed repairs. They agree the design is poor. Everyone who has a 2006 nissan altima without the back spoiler should be notified of this defect.

Traveling east on i-20 in arlingtjon texas our car began losing power and coasted to a stop. We were powerless to move and could not get off the freeway. We were hit from behind and as reported our car went airborne. The truck that hit us also hit another vehicle and flipped onto its top. In all 4 people went to hospital including my self and my wife. In researching the reason the car stopped, i found a number of other cases over several years of people online that lost power in this type vehicle. The problem seems to be a sensor for the crankshaft/camshaft that fails causing stalling. I contacted nissans representative(case number18593816) at 615-725-7539. Told them the car had been sealed and secured awaiting their inspection to determine the problem. They refused to inspect the vehicle saying their were no recalls on it. I feel this is a dangerous situation that could have killed us and others.

I have a 2016 nissan altima. First: i was involved in an accident in which a regular truck hauling an enclosed trailer drove over a large piece of plywood on the interstate at 70mph in front of me (also going about 70 mph) causing the piece of plywood to raise off of the road after he cleared it and it flew into the front of my vehicle and bounced up onto the hood and then hit the roof before flying off of my car. During this process, pieces of the plywood became stuck in the grill area of my car. There were no injuries, thankfully, but i am concerned the airbags did not deploy. Second: i've had this car since july of 2019. Over the past 6 months i have noticed that when i press the gas, the rpms rise but the transmission takes a bit to shift into gear causing a lag in acceleration. I have also noticed that if i am at a light or a stop and shift into drive sport, it doesn't do this. I have gotten in the habit of shifting into the sport mode when accelerating from a stop sign or red light. Third: my daughter was hit today by a truck crossing lanes to turn in front of her. She was traveling at appx 35 mph. The truck hit my passenger side front area, destroying my headlight, bumper, and grill. It was hit hard and the airbags did not deploy. The seatbelt did not lock, causing her to bounce forward and smack her head on the steering wheel. I am concerned now about the seatbelts and airbags and am more worried that they are defective after reading other complaints about these same issues. I love my car, but it doesn't seem to be very safe at all.

My issue concerns the extremely bright headlights (especially aftermarket halogen) that are allowed to be installed on cars and worse on suv's and pick-up trucks. These lights are blinding in normal highway night travel, especially when opposing drivers use them at the high beam level. It is worse when a car driver is opposed by a suv or a pick-up truck whose lights are mounted about one foot higher than the ones mounted on a typical car. My wife's accident when she entered the left turn lane of a highway with a single lane in each direction with a dedicated left turn lane at the intersection. As my wife's car sat in the left turn lane, it was directly opposite a suv or pick-up truck with extremely bright lights that blinds you from seeing anything beyond the plane of the headlights. When the traffic signal turned green, the opposing vehicle would not move. My wife eventually decided to ease slowly out. Still unable to see, se was eventually into the intersection where she was hit by a car in the through lane. These halogen lights are not necessary for most driving. The height differential of headlights between cars and suv's is about one foot and is dangerous. It also very bad on country roads with no centerlines or no edge lines. If you encounter a vehicle on this type of a country road and the road ahead curves - look out - you have a good chance of running off the road. Another thing that makes this issue worse is older drivers who have had cataract surgery. This increases the intensity of the lights. In the interest of traffic safety, all vehicle headlights on passenger cars, suv's and pick-up trucks should have the same height. And the brightness of the lights should have a maximum value. I know that the automotive industry will prevent this issue from becoming reality. But it is a needed change. Thanks for any help you can give. *tr

My 2002 nissan altima vehicle was taken in for service at bob bell chevrolet nissan, 7900 eastern avenue, baltimore, maryland, 21224, on thursday, august 2, 2007. It was brought in for servicing of all the vehicles' recalls, a soft grinding noise that could be heard when turning the steering wheel and low freon levels for air conditioning. On friday afternoon, august 3, 2007 around 5pm, i was contacted by the service department and strongly advised to pick up the vehicle before the service division closed at 6pm. The dealership stated that all recalls and issues had been resolved and completed. I picked the vehicle up around 5:45pm and proceeded to travel home. After only fifteen minutes, the vehicle engine started to smoke profusely. The engine started shaking harder and harder and a loud rattling noise could be heard from within the engine. The teenage passenger in the vehicle began to vomit and her eyes started swelling due to the volume of fumes expelled from the cars engine through the ventilation and into the car. I immediately pulled over (3700 eastern blvd.) and rushed to get her out of the seat where she continued to vomit once outside the vehicle. The dealership now denies ever seeing smoke from the engine (see attach.), as well as, denied causing damage to my car that potentially resulted in the engine smoking. The vehicle was picked up on wednesday, august 8, 2007 with the engine rattling uncontrollably even after being returned a second time to the dealership. The vehicle cut off while attempting to de-accelerate at a red light the following day. Uncertainty surrounds whether the vehicle will cut off again while de-accelerating proving it hazardous to drive, whether the vehicles five recalls where all properly addressed, and if the engine will start smoking again. *tr

The vehicle has not been inspected by the police or insurance. There were no warning lamps or messages and the problem first appeared in 2023

I have had issues with the very bad low beam lighting at night. Its so terrible that its like having no lights on at all and riding with them on constant high beams has resulted in me being pulled over on numerous occasions by police but its also unsafe to all other drivers i pass. The low beams were why i had an accident in nov of 2023. That resulted in me going down an embankment hitting a tree head on. From that accident i also learned the air bags were faulty bc they did not deploy either. I was only injured with a few scrapes, bruises and alot of soreness but it could have been so much worse. I have the photos from that wreck that shows the damage but also how the air bags didnt deploy as well. I plan to look into what other actions i can take against nissan since they know these are issues and have not fixed them. My car was manufactured in october of 2015. I was making a right hand turn when this occured bc i could not see bc of the low beam lights. I was only going maybe 5 mph. 10 mph tops. Please contact me with questions.
