I PURCHASED 4 NEW TIRES FOR MY 2004 NISSAN 350Z, THEY ARE THE FALKEN PRO G5 SPORT A/S TIRES P225/45R18 ON THE FRONT. 245/45/R18 ON THE REAR ON 2/06/19 THE MILEAGE IN WAS 16,292. ON 1/15/20 I TOOK THE CAR OUT AND THE CAR WAS BOUNCING ALL OVER THE ROAD, I TOOK IT BACK TO DISCOUNT TIRES IN LAS VEGAS NEVADA ON THAT SAME DAY AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE BALANCE OF THE TIRES. WHEN THE TECHNICIAN TRIED TO BALANCE THE TIRES HE SAID THEY ARE OFF BY OVER 1 OUNCE. ANOTHER TECH CAME AND TRIED TO BALANCE THE TIRES AND FOUND A BULGE ON ALL 4 TIRES AND OPTED TO REPLACE THEM ALL,I ONLY HAD 69 MILES ON THE TIRES! I HAVE TO SAY IN ALL MY YEARS I HAVE NEVER SEEN TIRES DEVELOP BULGES LIKE THESE AND ALL 4 NEEDING REPLACEMENT WITH ONLY 69 MILES ON THEM! I AM VERY NERVOUS WITH THESE TIRES BEING THAT THEY ARE INSTALLED ON A NISSAN 350Z WITH THE POWER THE VEHICLE HAS.

I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WHICH WAS VERY SIMILAR TO ONE I HAD 2 YEARS AGO IN THE SAME CAR, ONLY I DO NOT REMEMBER AS MUCH AS I DO FROM THE FIRST ONE. THE FIRST ACCIDENT OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY AUGUST OF 2006. I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY IN VERY LIGHT TRAFFIC, WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR STARTED TO FISH-TAIL. I WAS ON THE FAST LANE AND HIT THE CENTER DIVIDER AND SPUN AND HIT IT AGAIN. I MANAGED TO GET OVER TO THE SHOULDER WITHOUT HITTING ANYONE OR ANYONE HITTING ME. MY CAR WAS CRASHED ON THE LEFT SIDE MAINLY NEAR LEFT TIRE AND THE BUMPER, SOME DAMAGE WAS ON THE LEFT REAR TIRE AS WELL. I HAD THE CAR REPAIRED AND THE TIRES WERE CHANGED. THE SECOND ACCIDENT I DO NOT REMEMBER AS MUCH BECAUSE THE IMPACT WAS STRONGER AND IT KNOCKED ME UNCONSCIOUS AND IT WAS RAINING. THE DAMAGE ON THE CAR WAS VERY SIMILAR TO THE FIRST ACCIDENT ONLY THERE IS ALOT MORE BODY DAMAGE. THE HIGHWAY PATROL SAID THAT I HAD HIT THE CENTER DIVIDER AND SPUN. THE CAR IS NOT SAFE AT ALL AND THERE IS A NO REASON THAT A SPORTS CAR SHOULD BE FISH-TAILING OR LOSE TREADING IN THE RAIN. THESE CARS SHOULD BE MADE RESISTANT TO SUCH WEATHER AND SHOULD TIRES SHOULD NOT BE BALDING SO QUICKLY. THE 2003 AND 2004 NISSANS HAVE HAD RECALLS FOR PREMATURE FEATHERING/WEATHERING OF THE TIRES. THE TIRES TEND TO START BALDING TOO SOON, THUS CAUSING NOT ENOUGH TRACTION. THIS CLEARLY WOULD CAUSE THE CAR TO FISH-TAIL. *TR

TIRE FEATHERING PROBLEM WHICH NISSAN IS AWARE OF BUT WILL DO NOTHING TO CORRECT ONLY A BAND-AIR. THEY SAY HAVE THE CAR REALIGNED TO THERE SPECS WHICH I DID AT 17,0000 MILES AND THE PROBLEM IS BACK AFTER 500 MILES. I 'M NOW TOLD THE FRONT TIRES ARE WORN OUT. NISSAN OR DEALERSHIP WILL NOT REPLACE MY TIRES BECAUSE OF THE IN SERVICE DATE OF MY CAR AS TO WHEN THE SERVICE BULLETIN CAME OUT. IT WAS 36 MONTHS I WAS TOLD IT WAS UP IN SEPT. I OWN A 2004 NISSAN 350Z AND RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR FRONT TIRE ROAR WHICH EVENTUALLY WILL DAMAGE THE TIRES AND MISALIGN THE FRONT END. THE WARRANTY HAD BEEN EXTENDED TO OCT 30 2005 AND I HAD TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALER ON OCT 28TH. AFTER THE CAR WAS CHECKED THE TIRES WERE FOUND DEFECTIVE AND THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID HE WOULD ORDER NEW TIRES. AFTER TWO WEEKS HAD PASSED AND I DID NOT HERE FROM THE DEALER, I CALLED TO INQUIRE. IT SEEMED AS THOUGH THE PARTS WERE NEVER ORDERED AND THEY WOULD ORDER THEM AND CALL ME WHEN THEY WERE IN. FINALLY ON NOV 21ST I HAD THE CAR SERVICED. WHEN I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER THEY TOLD ME AT THIS TIME THAT I HAD TO PAY FOR THE TIRES. THIS WAS A SURPRISE TO ME BECAUSE NOTHING WAS SAID TO ME AT THE ORIGINAL DATE OF SERVICE. I AGREED TO HAVE THE TIRES REPLACED BECAUSE OF THE MIS-HANDLING OF THE CAR AND A POTENTIAL SAFETY PROBLEM. AFTER WAITING APPROXIMATELY 3 HOURS FOR MY CAR A FEE OF $449.00 WAS PAID. DO TO THE FACT THAT THIS WAS A RECALL BY THE MANUFACTURER AND THE NOTICE STATED THAT THE TIRES WILL BE REPLACED AT NO CHARGE, I FEEL THAT I AM DO A REFUND BY NISSAN. I HAVE ALL PERTINENT DOCUMENTATION FOR YOUR REVIEW. *JB

WHILE MAKING A NORMAL LEFT TURN THROUGH AN INTERSECTION MY CAR BEGAN TO SPIN. AFTER A COMPLETE 360 DEGREE SPIN AND SMACK INTO A CURB, THERE WAS SLIGHT DAMAGE TO LEFT REAR EXTERIOR WHEEL WELL. THIS ALIGNMENT ISSUE AND PREMATURE TIRE WEAR PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE RECTIFIED. SOMEONE HAS TO DO SOMETHING. UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS TO DO A COMPLETE 360 SPIN OUT IS RIDICULOUS. I AM LUCKY NO ONE SMACKED INTO ME AFTER I STOPPED. I HAVE HAD MY TIRES REPLACED TWICE ON THE RIGHT REAR AND ONCE ON THE LEFT REAR BECAUSE OF THE INNER TIRE WEAR. I HAVE HAD AN ALIGNMENT DONE ALSO. ALL THIS WAS PRIOR TO MY SPIN OUT. SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT WITH THIS CAR. ANY ANSWERS, SOLUTIONS, RECOMMENDATIONS? I HAVE READ NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THIS SITE ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM I AM HAVING. ARE YOU EVEN DOING ANYTHING WITH THESE COMPLAINTS? FROM WHAT EVERYONE ELSE HAS WRITTEN, NO ONE HAS DONE A THING. THERE ARE NO RECALLS OR ANYTHING FOR THIS ISSUE. FRONT END MIS-ALIGNED AT FACTORY CAUSING SEVERE CUPPING OF FRONT TIRES AT 13,000 MILES. FRIEND HAD SAME PROBLEM. I HAD CAR INTO DEALER 2 WEEKS BEFORE. I HAVE AN 2004 350Z TOURING. I BOUGHT THE CAR WITH 16,,000 MILES ON IT. NOW, IT HAS 30000 MILES ON IT. IN THE 14000 MILE RANGE THE TIRES ON THE FRONT FEATHERED COMPLETELY DUE TO SEVER NEGATIVE CAMBER. TOOK VEHICLE TO VICTORY NISSAN OF RICHMOND SEVERAL TIMES, AND THEY ONLY ALIGNED THE CAR AND CHARGE ME FOR IT. I HAVE A 2004 NISSAN 350Z WHICH HAS HAD REPEATED "FEATHERING" OF THE FRONT TIRES. I HAVE RESPONDED TO THE APRIL 2004 TBA NOW THREE (3) TIMES. THE FIRST TWO TIMES, NISSAN CLAIMED TO HAVE RESOLVE THE PROBLEM AND REPLACED THE FRONT TIRES. THE LAST TIME (WHICH WAS LESS THAN 5000 MILES AGO), NISSAN AGAIN CLAIMED TO HAVE ALIGNED THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE PROBLEM HAS NOW RETURNED. The contact owns a 2004 Nissan 350Z. The contact stated while refueling the vehicle, after stepping away from the vehicle, the contact was alerted by his passenger that there was a fuel leak underneath the vehicle. The contact stated that the passenger was alerted by the odor of gasoline. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the fuel pump filler neck needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 131,000.

The contact's girlfriend owns a 2004 Nissan 350Z. The contact stated that upon refueling the gas tank, a large amount of gasoline began to leak out from the gas tank and underneath the vehicle. The contact also stated that upon entering the vehicle, a strong fuel odor began to emit from the vehicle. Due to the failure, the contact had the vehicle towed to his home. The contact called the dealer and they informed him that there were no recalls on the vehicle. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 05V555000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) which he linked to the failure. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 115,000.

THE FUEL GAUGE DOESN'T ACCURATELY REFLECT THE AMOUNT OF GASOLINE IN THE FUEL TANK. EXAMPLES INCLUDE WHEN THE FUEL TANK IS FILLED TO THE POINT OF OVERFLOWING, THE FUEL GAUGE RANDOMLY REPORTS, 3/4, 1/2 1/4 AND SOMETIMES EMPTY. THE FUEL GAUGE RANDOMLY REPORTS DIFFERENT FUEL LEVELS EACH TIME THE IGNITION IS TURNED ON. I HAVE A 2004 350Z NISSAN I BOUGHT USED IN 2007 @ 16K MILES. I'M UNABLE TO FILL THE FUEL TANK COMPLETELY. APPARENTLY THE FUEL NOZZLE SENSOR DETECTS THE TANK AS FILLED WHEN IT IS NOT. BEFORE TANK FUEL GAUGE SHOWS 3/4 FILLED @ 12-13 GALLONS WHEN NOZZLE SHUTS OFF RANDOMLY. OTHERWISE I COULD FILL UP NO PROBLEM. HOWEVER, NOW IT'S ONLY ALLOWING ABOUT 1/2 TANK TO FILL (ABOUT 7 GALLONS) CONSISTENTLY. I'M HAVING TO REFUEL SEVERAL TIMES IN ANY GIVEN WEEK. THE FUEL GAUGE IN MY 2004 NISSAN 350Z FLUCTUATES UP AND DOWN. IT HAPPENS AFTER FUELING, AND UPON DRIVING THE CAR. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO 2 DIFFERENT NISSAN SERVICE DEPTS. FOR REPAIR. THE FIRST TIME, THEY SAID IT WAS A FAULTY FUEL SENSOR, AND REPLACED IT. THEY SAID IT WAS FIXED, BUT WHEN I DROVE IT, THE GAUGE FLUCTUATED AGAIN. TOOK IT BACK, BUT THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT AND COULDN'T DO ANYTHING ELSE SINCE THERE WERE NO CODES COMING FROM THE COMPUTER. SO TOOK MY CAR TO A 2ND NISSAN SERV. DEPT AND THEY SAID THEY FIXED IT BY REPLACING THE OTHER FUEL SENSOR (SINCE THERE ARE 2), BUT STILL FAULTY. I DO NOT KNOW HOW MUCH GAS I HAVE IN MY TANK AT ANYTIME. AIR BAGS

The airbag light came on for no reason, has never come on before. No accidents, fender bender, no bumps. Shop read an error code of B1129. Checked right passenger SRS seat connections as code suggests and reset the light. Light came back on in two days. Shop says airbag may not deploy and can not determine the exact cause. could easily cost over a $1000 to fix depending on issue. Airbags should not have issues like this. Nissan already has a service campaign for the same issue on later model 350Z. Please encourage Nissan to include the 2004 model as well. From all my research into resolving this issue, I can see there are a lot of other 350Z owners affected as well. Please help us. I BOUGHT A 2004 Z350 AND I BOUGHT IT ON MOTHER'S DAY LAST MONTH AND I GOT THE CAR IN THE ABARAT WAS ALREADY ON THE CAR THE LIGHT WAS ALREADY ON WHEN I PURCHASED A CAR FROM A DEALERSHIP AND I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS AGAINST THE LAW TO SELL A CAR WITH THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON.

AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON DASH ON 2004 350Z NISSAN. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT LISTED FOR NISSAN AIRBAG RECALL. WITHIN WARRANTY PERIOD THE AIRBAG WAS PREVIOUSLY REPLACED BY PLANET NISSAN (DEALER LAS VEGAS, NV) IN 2004 OR 2005, NOT SURE OF SPECIFIC DATE. DEALERSHIP SAID IT WASN'T COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BUT THEY WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT.

POWER TRAIN

HAPPENED IN THE DRIVEWAY, FORTUNATELY. WHEN THE CLUTCH PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, IT STAYED DOWN, AND IN GEAR. IT WAS DIFFICULT TO FORCE THE CAR OUT OF GEAR. I WAS THEN ABLE TO MANUALLY LIFT THE PEDAL, AND PUMP IT SOFTLY TO MAKE IT STAY UP. THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED SINCE. IT IS A HYDRAULIC CLUTCH' NO LEAKS, AND CLUTCH REPLACED 2 YEARS AGO. THE CAR HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED WITH ONLY 55K MILES ON IT. LOOKING ON THE INTERNET I SEE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM, AND VERY UNSAFE IF YOU ARE DRIVING AND CAN'T GET IT OUT OF GEAR.

THERE IS SOMETHING IN THE CLUTCH SYSTEM THAT IS CAUSING THE CLUTCH AND OTHER PARTS TO BURN FAST AND EARLIER THAN USUAL. THE PREVIOUS OWNER OF MY 2004 NISSAN 350Z HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. 2 NEW CLUTCHES AT $2,500 EACH BY THE TIME IT HIT 35,000 MILES. I BOUGHT THE CAR NOT KNOWING ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND THE CLUTCH COMPLETELY BURNED OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. LUCKILY I WAS NOT IN THE FAST LANE LIKE I USUALLY AM AND WAS ABLE TO SAFELY PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I PAID $2,500 TO REPLACE THE CLUTCH PARTS AGAIN. IT IS NOW LESS THAN 3 YEARS LATER AND IT IS HAPPENING AGAIN. NISSAN DEALER CLAIMS THIS MUST BE USER ERROR AND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE SYSTEM YET AGREES THAT IS VERY HARD TO BURN A CLUTCH THAT FAST AS AN EXPERIENCED MANUAL TRANSMISSION DRIVER. OEM TIRES (BRIDGESTONE POTENZA RE040) ON MY NISSAN 350Z STARTED FEATHERING ON THE INSIDE OF BOTH FRONT TIRES AROUND 6000 MILES. NOTICED THE SOUND HAD GOTTEN MORE NOTICABLE AROUND 11000 MILES. TOOK VEHICLE INTO NISSAN AT 12548 MILES AND WAS TOLD THAT NISSAN HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT END ON THE 2003 MODEL, BUT THAT IT HAD BEEN CORRECTED. HEARD FROM ANOTHER SOURCE THAT THERE WERE SEVERAL 2004 350Z CARS THAT HAD THE SAME PROBLEM.

I PURCHASED A 2004 NISSAN 350Z IN AUGUST OF 2003. AFTER ABOUT 24000 MILES I COMPLAINED OF EXCESSIVE ROAD NOISE COMMING FOR THE TIRES. I WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT THE FRONT TIRE WERE CUPPING AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THIS SEEMS TO BE A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR AND NISSAN ACKNOWLEDGED IT ON THEIR 2003 MODEL BUT CONTINUES TO IGNORE IT ON THEIR 2004 MODEL CLAINING THAT IT HAS BEEN ADDRESSED ALTHOUGH THEY ARE NOT CLEAR ON HOW THEY ADDRESSED IT. NOT BELIEVE IN WHAT THEY SAID, I STARTED LOOKING AT OTHER 350Z AND OTHER NISSAN THAT USE THE SAME ENGINE FOR THE SAME ISSUE. IT TURNS OUT I COULDN'T FIND ANY WITH THE PROBLEM, I HAVE HAD TO LIVE WITH THE "SPORTS CAR" NOT IDLING PROBLEM SINCE THEN. WHEN I CONTACTED NISSAN ABOUT IT TIME AFTER TIME, THEY EVENTUALLY BLACKLISTED ME AND NOT RETURN ANY OF MY PHONE CALL. A COMPLAINT WITH THE BBB WAS NO HELP NEITHER. THE PROBLEM CONTINUED TO GET WORSE UNTIL NOVEMBER 16TH WHEN THE CAR STALLED FOR THE FIRST TIME UNDER THE ROUGH IDLE. THE CAR WAS RUNNING AND WAS SITTING AT THE STOP LIGHT. I HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH CAUSING THE CAR TO PERIODICALLY NOT START. A MECHANIC MADE A PREVIOUS DIAGNOSIS BUT SAID THERE WERE NO SAFETY CONCERNS. THE CAR EVENTUALLY WOULD START ALL, REQUIRING DOWNTIME FOR REPAIR. SOMETIMES AFTER SITTING OVER NIGHT AND SOMETIMES AFTER SEVERAL ERRANDS THE CAR WON'T START BUT NEVER THIS SUDDEN STALL. I'VE HAD MY CAR OVER A YEAR WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM. I REPLACED THE REAR TIRES FIVE WEEKS AGO (NOT THE FRONTS, WHICH TREAD DEPTH WAS FINE), WITH THE SAME SIZE TIRES AS THE STOCK RUBBER. IN THE PAST TWO WEEKS THE FRONT BRAKES STARTED LOCKING AND RELEASING, LOCKING AND RELEASING, BUT IT'S ONLY BEEN ON FREEWAY RAMPS, ON AN INCLINE OR DECLINE, AND IN A CURVE. IT MAKES WHAT I DESCRIBE AS A GROANING SOUND, WHICH I ASSOCIATE WITH THE BRAKE PADS CLAMPING DOWN, CAUSING A REVERBERATION IN THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY. THE "SLIP" LIGHT IN THE DASH COMES ON WHEN IT OCCURS. AT FIRST IT ONLY SEEMED TO BE THE RIGHT, FRONT, BUT IT JUST STARTED DOING IT ON THE LEFT, FRONT AS WELL. I LIVE IN FLORIDA, SO SNOW IS NOT AN ISSUE. IT'S DONE IT ON WET AND DRY ROADS, ALTHOUGH MY HEART POUNDS MORE WHEN IT'S ON A WET ROAD AND THE FRONT END SLIDES IN A CURVE. I'VE ONLY APPLIED MODERATE BRAKE PRESSURE, NOT NEARLY ENOUGH TO CAUSE THE ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM TO ACT. THE DEALER EVALUATED THE CAR TODAY AND STATED NO "CODES" CAME UP ON THEIR COMPUTER DIAGNOSTIC, AND THEY STATED THE BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS, AND BRAKES GENERALLY WERE IN GOOD WORKING ORDER. SO, NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO CHANGE THE PROBLEM. MY THEORY IS THAT THE VDC (VEHICLE DYNAMIC CONTROL) SYSTEM IS FLAWED, AND ACTUALLY CAUSES THE BRAKES TO LOCK, CAUSING AN UNCONTROLLED SLIDE/SKID THAT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. THE BRAKES LOCK ONLY FOR MAYBE A SECOND WITH EACH LOCK, RELEASE, THEN LOCK, AND RELEASE. HOWEVER, A FULL SECOND OF LOCKED BRAKES IS A LONG TIME IN TRAFFIC, IN A CURVE. He said I needed a new radiator, hoses, gaskets for a price of $1400.00+ .I went to the Firestone dealer in Surprise on Meeker, he told me to go put antifreeze in and check ot out. I did and no overheating now? Mr. Malone lied to me and I want him fired.

I WAS INVOLVED IN A NEAR FATAL AUTO ACCIDENT, WHICH NISSAN DIDN'T REPORT TO THE DEATH AND INJURY REPORTS DONE EVERY QUARTER PER ANNUAL YEAR. THE ACCIDENT ALMOST LEFT ME PARALYZED AND I BROKE OVER 6 BONES IN VARIOUS BODY PART LOCATIONS DUE TO THE CAR NOT LIVING UP TO THE "SAFETY" FEATURES THE MAKER BOASTED TO HAVE WHICH FALSELY LEAD ME TO BUY THE CAR AND NEARLY KILLED ME DURING AN ACCIDENT, AT NO FAULT OF MINE. THE ACCIDENT WAS ON 1-18-2006, THE VEHICLE A TOTAL LOSS, AND OCCURRED IN ARIZONA ON INTERSTATE 51 IN PHOENIX AZ. I WAS REAR ENDED, WHILE SITTING IN TRAFFIC PILE-UP DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. THE OTHER DRIVER WAS ESTIMATED TO BE DRIVING UPON IMPACT AT 43 MPH. I HAD MY SEALTBELT ON, WHICH BROKE MY COLLARBONE, AND A RIB. I ALSO RUPTURED A SILICONE BREAST IMPLANT FROM THE FORCE OF THE CAR INTO THE STEERING WHEEL. THE AIR BAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY, THE LEG AND FEET COMPARTMENT FOR THE DRIVER AREA CAUSED ONE FOOT I HAD ON THE BRAKE, TO BREAK THE SESSAMOID BONE; THE RT KNEE WAS THROWN INTO THE STEERING COLUMN AND I BROKE MY PATELLA AND TORE MY MENISCUS. BOTH REQUIRED SURGERY, BOTH ON OPPOSITE LEGS. I REQUIRED SURGERY FOR THE RUPTURED IMPLANT. MY NECK WAS FRACTURED AND THE BLOW AND WHIPLASH FROM THE INADEQUATE HEAD RESTRAINT CAUSED VERTIGO FOR NEARLY 3 MONTHS. I SUFFERED BRAIN BRUISING AND SWELLING FROM HITTING MY HEAD AGAINST THE HEADREST AFTER BEING THRUST FORWARD WITHOUT AN AIRBAG TO CUSHION THE JOLTING OF THE NECK AND SPINE. MY THORACIC SPINE WAS FRACTURED, AND REMAINS THAT WAY SINCE I'VE OPTED NOT TO HAVE SURGERY. THE LUMBAR SPINE HAS A RUPTURED DISK AND DEVELOPED A MASS FROM THE IMPACT BLUNT FORCE TRAUMA THAT DEVELOPED FROM THE OTHER DRIVERS CAR HITTING MY REAR END OF THE CAR AND THE SEAT THRUSTING ALL THE CONTENTS OF THE VEHICLES STRUCTURE INTO THE SEAT BEHIND WHERE I SAT. WHILE DRIVING ON A WINDING STRETCH OF A TWO LANE HIGHWAY MY 350Z WENT INTO AN UNEXPECTED 360 DEGREE SPIN. IT WAS A LITTLE MISTY OUTSIDE. THE ROAD WAS DAMP, BUT NOT WET. THE TEMPERATURE WAS IN THE LOW 40'S DEG F. I WAS TRAVELING AT ABOUT 45 MPH IN A 45 MPH ZONE. I HAD JUST BARELY STARTED INTO AN AVERAGE LEFT TURN (I.E., NOT A TIGHT TURN) WHEN THE CAR STARTED TO SPIN. I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR, BUT DID NOT BRAKE. I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL OPPOSITE OF THE DIRECTION OF THE SPIN, BUT THE CAR DID NOT STRAIGHTEN OUT. WHEN IT APPEARED I WAS GOING TO RUN INTO THE SIDE OF MOUNTAIN HEAD ON, I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL IN THE DIRECTION OF THE SPIN, WHICH, AS EXPECTED, CAUSED IT TO SPIN A LITTLE FASTER. THE CAR ENDED UP ON THE SHOULDER OF THE OPPOSITE LANE. FORTUNATELY, I DIDN'T HIT ANYTHING. I CHECKED THE TIRES AFTERWARD AND THEY APPEARED NORMAL. I WENT BACK OVER THE SECTION OF ROAD, BUT SAW NOTHING UNUSUAL. THIS HAPPENED ABOUT THREE WEEKS AGO. I HAVEN'T NOTICED ANYTHING SINCE THEN, BUT I HAVEN'T PUSHED IT EITHER. TO ME IT SEEMS THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED AND THAT EVEN IF IT DID, THE DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM SHOULD HAVE STRAIGHTENED THE CAR OUT. I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR FOR MORE THAN 4 YEARS. FROM MY EXPERIENCE UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES I SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO EASILY HAVE NEGOTIATED THIS TURN AT LEAST 15 MPH FASTER THAN I WAS DRIVING. THIS IS A ROAD THAT I TRAVEL OFTEN. DURING NORMAL OPERATION OF A 2004 NISSAN 350Z THE FUEL TANK WAS PUNCHER AND APPROXIMATELY 15 GALLONS OF GASOLINE SPILLED ONTO THE ROAD. I WAS TRAVELING AT APROX. 30 MPH ON SURFACE STREETS WHEN I HEARD A POP & CONTINUED DRIVING FOR ABOUT 2 MILES. WHEN I GOT OUT OF THE CAR I DISCOVER GAS WAS HEAVILY POURING OUT. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND POLICE SECURED AND CLEANED THE AREA THEN TOWED THE CAR. ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP A SMALL PIECE OF ROAD DEBRIS, THAT THEY BELIEVE TO BE METAL, PUNCHED THE FUEL TANK. THE DEALERSHIP HAS ALSO CONFIRMED THAT NO SAFE GUARDS ARE IN PLACE AND NO PROTECTIVE MEASURES HAVE BEEN TAKEN TO PREVENT THIS TYPE OF INCIDENT FROM OCCURRING IN THE LOCATION WHERE THE HOLE EXISTS. NISSAN HAS INDICATED TO ME THAT THEY DO NOT BELIEVE THIS TO BE A SAFETY CONCERN & ARE UNWILLING TO ASSUME THE COST OF REPAIRS OR PUT SAFETY MEASURES IN PLACE TO PREVENT THIS TYPE OF INCIDENT FROM OCCURRING IN THE FUTURE BECAUSE A SAFETY RECALL HAS NOT OCCURRED. PRICHARD MADE THIS DECISION. HER CONTACT INFORMATION IS 1-800-647-7261 EXT. 3851. ON MY MIND JUST THE FACT THAT THIS HAPPENED PROVES THAT THE NISSAN 350Z IS SUSCEPTIBLE TO FUEL TANK PUNCTURES, WHICH COULD LEAD TO FIRE. THIS IS CLEARLY A SAFETY DEFECT, WHICH IS PROBABLE TO CAUSE SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY AND POSSIBLY DEATH. IN THE INTEREST OF PUBLIC SAFETY NISSAN SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO TAKE PREVENTIVE MEASURES TO ENSURE THAT THE FUEL TANK IS NOT EXPOSED TO ROAD DEBRIS. *AK

CONSUMER COMPLAINED ABOUT FRONT END NOISE. CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A TIRE DEFECT. FRONT TIRES FEATHERED FROM THE INSIDE RELATING TO IRREGULAR TIRE WEAR. DEALER STATED THAT THEY WERE REPLACING SO MANY TIRES THAT THE ONES NEEDED WERE BACK ORDERED. I OWN A 2004 ENTHUSIAST MODEL 350Z . DURING OUR VACATION THIS YEAR WE NOTICED A ROARING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT TIRES. WE ONLY HAD 6,507 MILES ON THE CAR AT THIS TIME. MY HUSBAND AND I AT FIRST THOUGHT THIS WAS DUE TO THE SURFACE OF THE ROAD WE WERE DRIVING ON. HOWEVER AFTER DRIVING ANOTHER 3,000 MILES THE NOISE GOT LOUDER AND AT THIS POINT WE WERE ALSO NOTICING A SKIPPING PROBLEM WITH THE RADIO/ CD PLAYER.SO WE DECIDED TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE NISSAN DEALER UPON RETURNING HOME. AT THE DEALERSHIP MY HUSBAND WAS TOLD THAT DUE TO THE FACT THAT THIS IS A SPORTS CAR AND HAS A DIFFERENT TYPE OF SUSPENSION AND TIRES , WE COULD EXPECT TO REPLACE THE TIRES VERY OFTEN ON THIS CAR. THE TIRES ARE WORN UNEVENLY AND FEATHERING ON THE INSIDE TREAD. TO MYSELF , THIS APPEARS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE, AS THE CAR HANLDLING HAS BEEN AFFECTED BY THIS UNEVEN WEAR. I DID MY RESEARCH ON THIS ISSUE AND DISCOVERED THAT THE 2003 350Z HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. NISSAN HAS NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM, THE ONLY THING THEY'VE DONE IS MADE A MINOR ADJUSTMENT IN THE SUSPENSION WHICH ALLOWS US TO DRIVE A LITTLE LONGER ON THESE TIRES. I KNOW THAT NISSAN IS AWARE OF THIS AND IS NOT MAKING ANY EFFORT TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM OR REPLACE THE TIRES. A CONSUMER HAS A RIGHT TO EXPECT THE THE PRODUCT AND ALL ITS PARTS TO MEET A CERTAIN LEVEL OF PERFORMANCE. NISSAN HAS NOT ACTED IN GOOD FAITH TO ITS' CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE. NO ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD PURCHASE A CAR KNOWING THAT THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE TIRES AT EVERY 3-5,000 MILES. ESPECIALLY NOT AT THE PRICE OF EACH TIRE ON THIS VEHICLE. THIS IS , AT THE LEAST UNETHICAL, AND MAY BECOME CRIMINAL UPON THE DEATH OF A CONSUMER WHO DIES AS A DIRECT RESULT OF THIS PROBLEM. *AK

CONSUMER COMPLAINED THAT DRIVER'S SEAT DID NOT LOCK INTO POSITION.
