My 2008 Nissan Altima's dash is degrading and has caused a sticky residue to form on it. This stickiness is very shiny and causes a glare to occur on the windshield. I live in Kentucky and when the sun is shining, and actually basically anytime driving, the glare makes it nearly impossible to see. I almost hit another vehicle because I could not see but instead went off the road to avoid a collision. This is very unsafe.

The failure caused a glare on the front windshield, which obstructed her view of the roadway while driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the dashboard needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

The contact stated that there was a glare reflecting off the dashboard and onto the windshield which would obstruct her vision while driving. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic and it was stated that they could repair the dashboard. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

Had to have AC system repaired three times for the same issue. Evaporator/Heater Core needed to be replaced twice along with other repairs to AC system. Nissan would not back up evaporator repair.

I bought this used from a private owner, on consignment at a used car lot Pinellas County FL May 2020. The previous owner installed a dashboard mat to cover up the melting, cracking dashboard, after 5 years of ownership, the dashboard is in serious degraded condition worse when I purchased it. I was unaware of the class action lawsuit 2017 over the safety concerns. Obvious resale value will be an issue as well. I continue to maintain this vehicle with 176,000 miles. I wanted to add my vehicle to the NHTSA complaint against Nissan for this issue and the loss of value upon resale. That would be great if NHTSA gets Nissan to issue nation wide recall, but given Nissan dire financial issues, it's unlikely they will recall for this issue

The dash is melting from the heat and is very sticky. It’s really unsafe due to the glare that affects the driver vision. It has already caused me to have one near miss when a tractor pulled into road and I was unable to see him until the last second. Then I jerked the steering missing the tractor.

The passenger air bag has failed. If my passenger has an accident, the air bag will fail to deploy and could be seriously injured. When I took the car in Nissan confirmed the bag was not operational. The insurance company was notified. I had the dealership check the warning message.

The vehicle was taken to an unknown dealer, and the dealer informed the contact that he needed to pay out of pocket for the diagnostic test. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the front passenger's side air bag seat sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 158,000.

I OWN A 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE DASHBOARD BEGAN MELTING ABOUT 3 YEARS AGO HOWEVER RECENTLY IT STARTED TO MELT MORE AND BECOME STICKY TO THE TOUCH. EVERY TIME I DRIVE MY VEHICLE, THE GLARE THAT SHINES ONTO MY WINDSHIELD FROM THE DASHBOARD IS TERRIBLE, SO BAD THAT IT IS HARD TO SEE AT TIMES. IT HAS CAUSED ME TO HAVE TROUBLE IDENTIFYING THINGS WHILE DRIVING. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND THEY WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE AND WILL CHARGE $2500 FOR A NEW DASHBOARD.

THE DASHBOARD IS LITERALLY MELTING AND IT STARTED JUST 6 YRS INTO OWNING THE CAR. WHEN I CONTACTED THE COMPANY AND SHOWED THEM WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND HOW IT CAN AFFECT MY VISIBILITY DUE TO REFLECTION THEY ADVISED THAT WHAT THEY WERE SEEING IN THE PICTURES WAS DUE TO "ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE" AND THAT REPAIR WOULD NEED TO BE COVERED BY ME. HONESTLY, I FOUND THAT HARD TO BELIEVE CONSIDERING THE COMPANY HAS TWO EXISTING CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS AGAINST THEM IN OTHER STATES FOR THE SAME ISSUE. I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT BEFORE, AND HAVE HEARD OF COMPETITORS WITH THE SAME ISSUE ACTUALLY DOING A RECALL ON THEIR VEHICLES. Glare off dash board is blinding on sunny days. Dashboard is melting, the melted dash reflection is distraciton/ binding on sunny days, and smell from dash is not pleasant. Not knowing actual product that is melting is concerning since melting plastics and vinyl can be toxic. Took car out for ride on sunny day had to pull over because of glare dashboard. Tried to contact Nissan about any products to resurface and contain the melted mess an smell. They offered no solutions besides take in to local dearliship. Not shelling out 500 dollars for nationally known defective material. You can contact any quality managment firm or producer that have working knowledge with plastics and vinyl to confirm that this is a major quality defect. I can not even find out what actual material was used to cover for soft dash.

My vehicle was purchased used in North Carolina October 2015 and after about 3 years I noticed my dash became very sticky. In the last year there is now I glare from the dash on my windshield. I just recently discovered this is a manufacturer's defect that was only covered in FL.

The dashboard covering has deteriorated to the point it is sticky and shiny. Sun glare on the dash reflects off the windshield making it difficult to see. This is a known defect of this Make, Model and Year. State of Florida settled with the manufacturer and owner's cars were repaired.

The dashboard is defective and breaking down chemically. The chemical compound that the dashboard is made of is not resistant to sunlight causing it to crack break down and become very shiny. Not only does this admit harmful toxins that can be breathed in by the passengers, more dangerously it creates a glare on the windshield making it difficult to see through the window. This can impair vision resulting in an accident by the driver. In addition from what I understand the airbag is under this piece of equipment which is degrading and faulty.

MY TPMS LIGHT HAS BEEN ON FOR QUITE SOME TIME NOW, AND THE DEALER TELLS ME THAT THE SYSTEM IS READING ZERO PSI IN ALL TIRES. THEY SAID IT WAS A PART OF THE SYSTEM THAT NISSAN KNOWS ABOUT AND DOESN'T WANT TO ADDRESS IT. SO IF I WANT IT FIXED ITS GONNA COST ME OVER $200. MY WIFE WHO HAS A 2009 MURANO HAS THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE TPMS LIGHT BEING ON AND READING ZERO PSI IN ALL TIRES.

Was driving and heard a knocking sound similar to taps coming from the engine. Pulled over turned car off and turned it back on and knocking sound stopped. Drive about another mile and black smoke came out the vents. Pulled over and got out of vehicle. By the time I was out of the vehicle the car was on fire. By the time the fire department arrived car was completely engulfed. No check engine light was on and car gave no previous warning as to what could have happened.

I purchased a crankshaft from CarID and had a friend replace it with the old one in my 2008 Nissan Altima. Immediately after the repair, I noticed my steering power was gone. I had them put in the old crankshaft and regained my steering. I told CarID that the part was either defective or the wrong part despite their website claiming otherwise. They told me it wasn't under warranty and refused to refund or exchange the crankshaft. Well, this isn't a warranty issue, this is a defective part issue. On their own website they list the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, which my situation falls under. Their part (WVE 5S11487 - Crankshaft Position Sensor) led to the failure of my steering. I called WVE, who said they do not sell directly to CarID and the part was most likely bought from a third party, hence the lack of warranty. The last I heard from CarID on this issue, they told me they would assist within 24-72 hours. That was 7 days ago. I emailed them a follow-up email yesterday that has gone ignored as well. CarID has not only shown any interest in resolving this issue amicably but shown willful disregard for the danger that their defective parts pose to their customers.

MY NISSAN 2008 ALTIMA STARTED STALLING WHILE I PULLED INTO TRAFFIC. IT WAS HAPPENING FOR SEVERAL MONTHS AND WAS RANDOM. I TOOK MY CAR INTO NISSAN, AFTER REALIZING THERE WAS A CVT TRANSMISSION RECALL FOR THIS CAR. THEY EXAMINED THE CAR AND DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH THE CAR, BECAUSE THE CAR DID NOT REPORT ANY DIAGNOSTIC CODE. THEY TOLD ME TO COME BACK, WHEN THE CAR STALLED AND THEY COULD GET THE NECESSARY CODE, SINCE THE CAR WAS EXPERIENCING THE PROBLEM THE CODE WOULD BE IN THE SYSTEM. I HAD REPORTED THIS PROBLEM TO NISSAN CORPORATE AND GOT CASE NUMBER. ON MAY 7, 2018, NISSAN FOUND THE CODE AND THE PROBLEM WAS A BAD CVT TRANSMISSION. NISSAN DETERMINED TO PAY HALF THE COST OF REPLACING MY TRANSMISSION. ON MAY 18,2018, I PICKED UP MY CAR AND EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM DRIVING AWAY FROM THE DEALERSHIP. I CALLED BACK AND THE MANAGER SAID THE PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY HIGH FLUIDS AND TO DRIVE THE CAR OVER THE WEEKEND AND IT SHOULD BE FINE. WELL, I STALLED WHILE DRIVING INTO TRAFFIC TWO MORE TIMES OVER THE WEEKEND. I CALLED NISSAN CORPORATE TO SAY THAT THE PROBLEM IS NOT FIXED. THEY HAVE REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS CAR AND AM TERRIFIED TO DRIVE IT. I'M DRIVING AN UNSAFE CAR AND NISSAN IS NOT HELPING ... AT LEAST FOR NOW

I'VE CHECKED A FEW ONLINE FORUMS AND THIS APPEARS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH NISSAN VEHICLES. Brake switch or Stop Light Switch goes out which causes brakes to become very stiff and not light up the brakes which causes car’s push start to not start car more than 5 times a week. I will always have to stomp the brake petal to activate the brakes to start the car.

Problem - Car dashboard is melting and becoming sticky due to heat. Safety - Severe glare from the black dashboard on the windshield makes it a safety risk to drive on the roads during day time. Potential health hazard due to melting dashboard material and any harmful gases from dashboard material while driving the car with heater or AC ON. This is a known issue to Nissan and a class action lawsuit was filed and settled in the state of FL.

The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Altima. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 08V521000 (Air Bags, Electrical System). The contact called the dealer and made an appointment; however, the contact was informed that the part might not be available for the appointment. The contact arrived for the appointment and was informed 3 hours later that the part needed for the repair was not available. The contact was informed by the dealer that several other dealers and was informed that parts were not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and informed the contact that other dealers would be contacted for parts availability, and a case was filed. The contact stated that a week later, the contact called the manufacturer again and was informed that the part was found and sent to the local dealer. The contact called the dealer and was informed that there was no knowledge of parts being sent to the dealer location and that there had not been any communication with the manufacturer about parts. The contact stated that upon sitting in the passenger’s seat, the air bag sensor failed to recognize a passenger seated in the passenger’s seat. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown. Parts distribution disconnect.

I BOUGHT A NISSAN ALTIMA COUPE FROM AUTO NATION NISSAN IN SOUTH FLORIDA. SINCE THE PURCHASE THE SOUTH FLORIDA SUNLIGHT HAS MELTED MY DASHBOARD, TODAY I NEARLY GOT INTO A MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT TRYING TO LOOK AROUND THE GLARE ON MY WINDSHIELD CAUSED BY THE MELTING DASHBOARD. 2008 MODEL YEAR NISSAN ALTIMA COUPE - RECURRING PROBLEM WITH DASHBOARD. DASHBOARD MATERIAL "MELTS" WHEN EXPOSED TO SUNLIGHT OR RADIANT HEAT FROM BEING PARKED IN THE SUN. THE DASH MATERIAL FEELS OILY TO THE TOUCH AND BECOMES MALLEABLE; TOUCHING IT LEAVES A PERMANENT IMPRESSION. THE MAIN ISSUE, HOWEVER, IS THAT THE DASHBOARD BECOMES HIGHLY REFLECTIVE AND CAUSES GLARE, DRASTICALLY REDUCING VISIBILITY. THE DRIVER'S SIDE MIRROR IS HOUSED IN A CASING OF REFLECTIVE METAL, THE SAME AS THE REST OF THE BODY OF THE CAR. THE SHAPE OF THE SHAFT CONNECTING THE CASING TO THE DOOR IS SHAPED NEARLY PARABOLIC, WHICH MEANS THAT IF PARALLEL RAYS OF LIGHT (SUCH AS FROM THE SUN) ARE COLLECTED AND FOCUSED SO THAT THEY CONCENTRATE AT ONE POINT. AS IT HAPPENS, THE GLARE FROM THE SUNLIGHT CONCENTRATES AT A POINT RIGHT AROUND WHERE THE DRIVER'S EYES WOULD BE. AT LEAST NEAR MY EYES, THOUGH I'M TALLER THAN AVERAGE (6'5"). THE GLARE IS VERY DISTRACTING FOR ME. I HAVE TO LEAN OFF TO THE SIDE TO TRY TO AVOID THE GLARE. The contact owned a 2008 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving on the highway at approximately 80 MPH, the steering wheel became stiff, and the contact lost control of the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. As a result, the contact crashed into a concrete barrier. The front of the vehicle was severely damaged including the front driver and front passenger side doors. The air bags were deployed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard where it was deemed destroyed and discarded. A dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed for the failure. A police report was filed. The contact sustained a concussion, whiplash on her neck, and bruising on her nose that required medical attention. The contact currently was still recovering from her brain injury and receiving treatment from a neurologist. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 08V363000 (Suspension) as possibly being related to the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.

The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while making a left turn into a parking at an undisclosed speed, the front driver’s side tire detached from the vehicle. Upon inspection, the contact discovered that each of the lug nuts had sheared off the wheel. The wheel was underneath the vehicle. Due to the failure, the contact had the vehicle towed to his home. The contact then called the manufacturer and was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 08V363000 (Suspension). The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 113,000.

The passenger side air bag is faulty due to AN INTERRUPTION OF SIGNAL BETWEEN THE OCS AND THE AIR BAG CONTROL UNIT. This has been verified by an independent service center and puts passengers at risk. The airbag will not work without the entire seat being replaced. The airbag light shows that the system is “OFF”. This make and model had a recall issued but my VIN was not included but should have been included.

Air bag light on dash board. Which I don’t know if it’s related to the melting windshield issue. Top of dashboard melting and causing severe reflection on windshield and I almost ran someone over because of the severe windshield glare due to melting dashboard causing blinding reflection. Nissan defect is a liability and negligence which needs to be recalled. This is not a cosmetic issue!!! It is a great safety hazard and easily cause a fatal accident since due to the manufacturer’s defect it is unsafe to drive. This needs to be recalled because they will be held accountable if someone dies.

ON 13TH OF OCTOBER THE RED AIR BAG/SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT STARTED FLASHING AGAIN AND I MADE AN APPOINTMENT AT AUTONATION NISSAN. ON 16TH OF OCTOBER, MY CAR WAS CHECKED AGAIN BY NISSAN SERVICE AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE PROBLEM IS IN A SENSOR IN A CUSHION SEAT AND ESTIMATE COST IS $900. THEY DIDN'T HAVE IT IN THEIR INVENTORY AND I HAD TO WAIT FOR A DELIVERY. ON 28TH OF OCTOBER, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE CUSHION SEAT IS IN THEIR FACILITY. I CHECKED NISSAN RECALLS LIST AND FOUND OUT THAT THERE WAS A RECALL OF NISSAN ALTIMA 2008 BECAUSE OF FLASHING AIR BAG RED LIGHT (NHTSA CAMPAIGN # 08V-521). The dashboard in this vehicle similar to other Nissan models that have already been recalled is cracked, sticky, shiny and glossy. It’s dangerous to have cracks in the dashboard in case of airbag deployment. The glossy shiny dashboard creates a blinding glare and is extremely dangerous while driving. It creates a glare that makes the front windshield appear black and unable to see through.

I TOOK MY CAR TO AUTO ZONE AND CODES CAME UP FOR THE SPEED SENSOR AND THROTTLE SENSOR. THIS WAS SO SCARY AND HAZARDOUS, THANK GOD I GOT OFF THE HIGHWAY BEFOREHAND BECAUSE THERE WAS TOO MUCH TRAFFIC!

MY VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION FAILED AFTER ONLY 90,000 MILES. NISSAN REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION FOR FREE UNDER THEIR EXTENDED CVT WARRANTY PROGRAM, HOWEVER, LESS THAN A YEAR LATER, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHILE MAKING A LONG DISTANCE TRIP ON THE INTERSTATE. ACCORDING TO NISSAN THE CVT FLUID REQUIRED FOR THE CVT TRANSMISSION CAN BECOME GLUE LIKE AND GUNK UP AT HIGH SPEEDS OR IN HOT WEATHER, CAUSING THE ENGINE TO OVERHEAT AND THE CAR TO STALL. THE SOLUTION FOR THIS PROBLEM IS AN EXTERNAL COOLANT SYSTEM FOR THE CVT FLUID PROVIDED TO THE CUSTOMER AT THEIR EXPENSE TO KEEP THE TRANSMISSION FLUID FROM BECOMING THICK. I AM EXTREMELY DISGUSTED WITH MY NISSAN EXPERIENCE, THEY KNOWINGLY ARE MAKING TRANSMISSIONS WHICH FAIL AFTER LESS THAN 100,000 MILES AND ARE REQUIRING THEM TO USE NISSAN CVT FLUID WHICH IS A FAIL ALSO.

MY 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA DASHBOARD IS VERY STICKY AND MELTING. I CALLED NISSAN AND MAKE MY FIRST COMPLAINT 2 MONTHS TOO LATE WAS TOLD. SINCE THEN THE MELTING AND STICKINESS ON THE COMPLETE TOP OF THE DASH BOARD IS GETTING WORSE. INSIDE THE CAR NOW IT?S ALSO SMELLING LIKE MELTED TAR, WHICH MAY REPRESENT A HEALTH ISSUE WHEN BREATHING IT, AND WITH IT THE INTENSE GLARE, REFLECTION OF THE GLOSSY TAR ON THE FRONT WINDOW IT'S A SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD WHEN DRIVING, ESPECIALLY WHEN THIS ALSO COULD RESULT IN AIRBAGS BEING SUPPRESSED WHICH COULD FAIL TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE PROTECTION IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. UPON DRIVING THE VEHICLE THERE WAS A STRONG SMELL OF GASOLINE INSIDE THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE STARTED SMOKING WHILE DRIVING IMMEDIATELY THE CAR RAN HOT. In 2018 I was driving back home from Derby, Kansas to Denver, Colorado in the middle of summertime, and my air conditioner started blowing hot air and the AC did not need to be charged. This was in my 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe that I purchased in April 2008 with 4 miles on it and have taken amazing care of it and still have it to this day and is in excellent condition other than these issues. About an hour later, my car starting making a revving noise when I accelerated but my car was not accelerating and I would have to pull off on the side of the road, in 100 degree weather, no air conditioning, with my dogs, and wait for 30 minutes and then I could start driving for about 10 minutes, and then I had to repeat this all the way back to Denver. A normally 8 hour trip took me over 20 hours due to this. I have to rent a car now I go out of town because I am not going to pay to fix whatever is wrong with it when this is obviously a major problem because there have been so many reports. I drive it when going on short trips so its driven, but its pretty much been non-reliable since 2018. I hope there is a thorough investigation of this and a recall is done because this is crazy and was not safe at all to drive and it actually still happens when it is hot out and I drive more than 30 minutes. No error lights come on and all gagues are normal and no mechanics can seem to figure it out so I can't get it fixed. I will never buy a brand new car again because a used one will last longer, and definitely not a Nissan or anything affiliated or has parts made buy them.

NY EXHAUST MANIFOLD IS HAVING TROUBLE I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT THERE'S BEEN A RECALL BUT CANNOT FIND ANYTHING RECENT. MY TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM ISN'T READING CORRECTLY EITHER AND I'M SCARED I'M GOING TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. PURCHASED 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA ON MARCH 6, 2021 FROM THE CAR HOUSE IN BUTLER, NJ. SINCE THE MOMENT I DROVE OFF THE LOT, MULTIPLE LIGHTS TURNED ON WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE ALTERNATOR AND MULTIPLE 02 SENSORS. THE NEXT DAY I HAD A GARAGE DO AN INSPECTION AND IT TURNED OUT THE CAR NEEDED A REAR CONTROL ARM, SHOCKS, BRAKES AND ROTORS IN ADDITON TO THE LIGHTS. THE DEALER SAID THAT I HAD A 90 DAY WARRANTY BUT WHEN I CALLED THE COMPANY THEY HAD NO RECORD OF THE CONTRACT. THE DEALER FIXED THE SENSORS AND ALTERNATOR SUPPOSEDLY, BUT HAVEN'T CONTACTED ME BACK ABOUT FIXING THE OTHER ISSUES AND EVERY TIME I CALL THEY HANG UP.

THE FOLLOWING HAD TO BE FIXED ALL ON ONE VISIT: MY ALTERNATOR REPLACED; TOP MOTOR MOUNT REPLACED, BRAKE SENSOR REPLACED, BATTERY REPLACED, AND HAD AN OIL COOLER LEAK FIXED. ALL WAS COVERED WITH MY EXTENDED WARRANTY ($858 OTHERWISE). IT HAS HAD A TOTAL OF 4 BATTERIES, 2 ALTERNATORS, 2 MANNA FOLDS (A RECALL), NEW SHOCKS AND STRUTS (I PAID FOR) AND MY TRANSMISSION WARRANTY WAS EXTENDED TO 120,000 MILES. (THERE WAS ALSO ANOTHER RECALL TO THE FUEL TANK BUT CAN'T REMEMBER ANY SPECIFICS). I TAKE GREAT CARE OF MY CAR, HAVE IT MAINTAINED REGULARLY, AND ONLY USE QUALITY GAS. GLUE IS BLEEDING THRU THE DASH ON MY 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA. I HAVE BEEN COMPLAINING TO THEM FOR TWO YEARS TO NO AVAIL. THEY SENT ME TO A DEALER IN TOWN AT ONE POINT WHO REITERATED TO ME VERBATIM WHAT I WAS TOLD BY THEM ONLINE AFTER HE GAVE THE DASH A QUICK LOOK. Suspension and steering issues purchased many new tires throughout the yrs to find out it had suspension issues. There are 4 recalls listed on my insurance policy that describes exactly what's been wrong with my car since purchased. When calling nissan and checking your data base my vin # has never had any recalls for these issues but is obvious this make and model has been affected as well. Please look into this some more car is not safe and we were sold a lemon from day 1. Going back and forth to dealership lies and mechanics to find out it's always been a suspension issue I don't know the exact terms but suspension and some type of electric issue just as the recalls stated on my insurance policy description. Please advise or help Nissan make this right to keep our streets and cars safe while on the road. I need to gather all documents from places I've gone in for these very same issues of recalls shown. Financially this has been a burden investing in a used car to just have to fix right away with these same exact issues of recalls listed but to say our vehicle was not affected by those recalls is ridiculous it's obvious I been dealing with the same exact issues. Please help. Thank you for listening and hopefully you can help make a difference with this safety issue. I bought the car during covid year and been having issues since then but today's date on incident because I'm not sure of an exact date 4-5 yrs ago when issues started. Dealership lied to us I'm sure they were experiencing same issues with suspension that lead to issues with steering wheel control arms into motor mounts and tires getting bald fast and always having to change out front tires not straight or balanced out of control all the time.

While pulling into a parking spot and coming to a halt, I put the car into park mode. My foot was still on the brake. Instantly the engine went into "overdrive" and lurched forward over a parking curb and through heavy brush and finally came to a stop after hitting a pine tree. The engine was still screaming and the tires still spinning until I hit the off button. I had my foot on the brake the entire time to no avail. The heavy brush slowed the car somewhat. The airbags didn't deploy. I had several witnesses and they all stated they saw my brake lights on. I plowed approx. 50 feet through the brush before hitting the tree. I was the only one involved and was not hurt. This was Thurs. Sept. 28, 2023. It was in a state park and no police report made. Park Ranger took down info.

2008 Nissan Altima: Noticed this year a shiny gleam on the dashboard. This windshield gets hazy. The dashboard is melting, it is sticking and shiny. When a fingernail is pressed, it will actually sink into the dashboard and leave a mark. The dashboard cannot take any cleaning or friction. When the dashboard is touched it leaves fingers sticky. Became more of an issue this year now that I have a grandchild. MY other vehicle is a mini cooper 2 door which is not feasible to hold a car seat and baby. I now have the carseat in the Nissan and now it has become more of a problem because i cannot use the other car as alternative transportation when I have my grandchild. It is very difficult to drive with the glare it causes, and it is a safety issue not only for me but for others. When the sun is out and it is hot (this summer) it is worst and causes the windshield to get hazy. Not sure if it is leaking chemicals as the dashboard is now soft, shiny and cannot be removed by cleaning. The glare is very dangerous and difficult to drive under the conditions. I pulled into Regions bank parking lot to use ATM machine and before I could even park my car accelerated for no reason. I had my foot on the brake but it just made it go faster. I crashed into the building and airbag deployed. This was the scariest driving experience I’ve ever had. The car is totaled and caused serious damage to bank. I escaped by the grace of God with sprained wrist and elbow and knee abrasions.

When I start my car and let it warm up, then reverse then put it in drive, I put my foot on the gas and the RPMS SHOOT UP TO 3 to 4 RPMS, I have to remove my four from the gas then my car is very slow and stays at 2 1/2 - 3 RPMS for several miles . Checked Fluids etc and still have the same issue with it every day. Also my passenger air bag is always off , no matter if someone who is 50 lbs or 250 lbs it is always off and I can not get it to come on . Finally when using my turn signals my blinkers work but never go off unless I manually do it myself. And I fo not get a warning sound telling me that my blinker is still on . It will stay on for hours if I do not notice it and I am driving long distance.

I have had my cars rear brakes completely replaced once in the last 6 months and completely replaced the front brake system TWICE in 6 months. I’ve had to pay close to $4000 in repairs on only the cars front end so at this point any part that could be causing the excessive wearing out of my brakes could not possibly be doing so without me knowing about it from many inspections (mainly done by different Les schwab locations and my local Nissan dealership in Salem, OR). For some reason within a month of having the brakes replaced, they have began to squeal worse than ever before, I’m not exaggerating when I say that my 2008 Altima has brakes that are almost twice as loud as any city or school bus brakes that I’ve ever heard in my life. While driving down the highway at about 60 mph the vehicle shut off and has not restarted in almost 2 weeks. There was no indication or warning of any engine trouble prior to it shutting off. Luckily, I was getting off an exit and nobody was injured. Had I NOT been exciting the highway, there would have most certainly been a MULTI vehicle accident with severe injuries and possibly even death because of the high speeds. Once the car was completely stopped and off towards the shoulder I tried to restart but got a fast clicking noise, but wouldn't start. Let the car sit for a little tried to jump start it, but now the key indicator was being displayed which means the car wasn't recognizing the key even in the slot. This leads me to believe the security system/ immobilizer could've been what caused it to shut off. The car has not been looked at yet. Still waiting for Nissan dealer to diagnose it.

PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT. CAR WILL BE IN MOTION ON HIGHWAY FLAT LAND/UPHILL/DOWNHILL ANY LAND AND MY CAR WILL INTERMITTENTLY LOOSE POWER ITS A 2008 ALTIMA 2.5S I WILL HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO STOP MY CAR ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY IN A DEADLY AND HEAVILY USED CANYON WITH NOT MANY PLACES AVAILABLE TO PULL YOUR CAR OVER. IF THERE IS IT'S VERY TIGHT. WHEN I PULL OVER I SHUT IT OFF FOR ABOUT A MINUTE OR TWO THEN I START IT BACK UP WHILE IN PARK I GENTLY PRESS THE GAS TO ACCELERATE IT A LITTLE AND NOTHING HAPPENS. THE RPM STICK WONT MOVE. I HAVE BEEN COMING DOWN AN OFF RAMP ONTO THE FREEWAY AND I WONT BE ABLE TO ACCELERATE IN ORDER GAIN A SAFE AND LEGAL SPEED TO ENTER ON A HEAVILY TRAFFICKED HIGHWAY WITH NO WHERE TO PULL OVER, ALMOST CAUSED A HUGE DEADLY ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THIS HOWEVER THE CAR RPM STICK WENT UP AND DOWN THE CAR FELT LIKE IT WAS TRYING TO ACCELERATE AFTER A FEW "ATTEMPTS" FROM THE ENGINE IT WENT FROM ME FEELING THE CAR ALMOST FORCEFUL ENGINE SHUT OFF WITH THE LOSE OF ACCELERATING AND UNABLE TO ACCELERATE AND HEARING THE CAR ALMOST DIE AND WENT FROM ME DECELERATING HARD AT 40 MPH ON A SLIGHT DOWNHILL OFF RAMP FREEWAY AT 40 MPH TO ALL OF A SUDDEN TAKING OFF AS IF THE CAR WAS A ROCKET AND DIDNT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH MAINTAINING SPEED. THIS HAS HAPPENED 9 TIMES SINCE I PURCHASED AND HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY. THE CAR WILL NOT TYPICALLY HAVE THIS ISSUE IF I MAKE A SHORT IN TOWN TRIP OR A FEW ERRANDS IN TOWN NO FASTER THAN 30MPH SPEEDS AND NO HARD IT FAST ACCELERATION ON FLAT LAND. I LOST THE PAPERWORK FROM THE AUTOMOTIVE SHOP HOWEVER CAN EASILY OBTAIN IT SHOWING THAT THE CAR NEEDS A NEW CATALYTIC CONVERTER REPAIR COSTING AROUND 1300. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINS ON EVEN AFTER BEING CLEARED WILL THROW THE SAME P024 ERROR CODE. I JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR BOUGHT AND AM UNABLE TO SAFELY DRIVE IT WITHOUT A DEADLY OUTCOME.

I OWN A 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA. I WAS DRIVING DOWN A MAJOR HIGHWAY ONE EVENING WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR BEGINS TO SLOW DOWN. I PRESS THE GAS PEDAL AND THE CAR SEEMS TO GO EVEN SLOWER. IT WAS MYSELF AND MY YOUNGEST DAUGHTER. I WAS SCARED TO DEATH. THE SPEED LIMIT ON THE HIGHWAY WAS 70 MPH AND MY CAR WOULD NOT GO OVER 35 MPH. I PULLED OVER TO A GAS STATION AND A NICE MAN LOOKED AT THE CAR AND COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. SO GET BACK ON THE WAY TO GO BACK BECAUSE I DIDN'T TRUST THE CAR TO MAKE IT TO MY DESTINATION. IT DID THE AME THING AGAIN. SO I DROVE WITH MY HAZARD LIGHTS ON ALL THE WAY HOME AND PARKED IT. AT AROUND 11:50 PM MONDAY AUGUST 21, 2017 MY SON PARKED HIS NISSAN ALTIMA ON RESIDENTIAL STREET IN FRONT OF A FRIENDS HOUSE WHILE HE RAN IN FOR A BIT BEFORE HEADING HOME, ABOUT 10 MINUTES LATER 2 LOUD "POPS" RATTLED THE HOME. THEY STEPPED OUT FRONT TO FIND THAT HIS 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA WAS FULLY ENGULFED IN FLAMES 20-30 FEET HIGH. AT 00:11 THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED AND WORKED TO EXTINGUISHED THE CAR, FINALLY FINDING IT SAFE TO LEAVE AT 01:17. THEY CAR IS OBVIOUSLY A TOTAL LOSS. I AM REQUESTING AN INVESTIGATION INTO THE CAUSE OF THIS RANDOM "EXPLOSION" OF THE VEHICLE WHILE PARKED. THANKFULLY, NO ONE WAS INJURED AND NO OTHER STRUCTURES WERE DAMAGED (POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO THE CITY ROAD), THIS VERY WELL COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A DEVASTATING OUTCOME.

THE AIRBAG SENSOR ON THE PASSENGER SEAT STOPPED WORKING ABOUT A YEAR AGO. I HAD TO GET MY CAR INSPECTED LAST MONTH TO DRIVE IN THE STATE OF VA AND TO ACCESS THE NAVAL BASE FOR WORK. I FAILED THE INSPECTION BECAUSE OF IT AND HAD TO PAY $705 FOR A NEW SEAT. I SAW A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT WAS TOLD BY NISSAN RECALL DEPARTMENT MY CAR WASN'T COVERED. HOW CAN THAT BE POSSIBLE? AFTER REPLACING MY TRANSMISSION, THE CAR CONTINUED TO SPUTTER ANYTIME I WAS DRIVING FOR MORE THAN A FEW MILES. MY MECHANIC FIGURED OUT THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WAS OVERHEATING TO ABOUT 600 DEGREES WHEN IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN NO MORE THAN 250 DEGREES, CAUSING PARTS OF THE ENGINE TO BEGIN MELTING. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER CAME ON TO ALERT ME OF THIS ISSUE, AND I MAY NOW HAVE PERMANENT ENGINE DAMAGE.

I OWN A 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA (VIN# [XXX]). I HAVE TO TWO QUESTIONS FOR YOU: 1) WHY HAS THERE NOT BEEN A RECALL ON THE DASHBOARDS TOWARDS THEIR STICKINESS & MELTING? ESPECIALLY SINCE TOYOTA RECALLED THEIRS BECAUSE OF THAT. 2) WHY HAS THERE NOT BEEN A RECALL ON THE TPMS? IT STAYS ON ALL THE TIME. THE DASHBOARD HAS BECOME ALMOST LIQUIFIED, AND THE GLARE FROM THE NOW SHINY SURFACE CREATES A REFLECTION ON THE WINDSHIELD, CREATING A SAFETY HAZARD. THE STEERING WHEEL HAS BECOME GUMMY, MAKING STEERING UNSAFE, AND THE RUBBERY MATERIAL ON THE SHIFT HANDLE HAS BECOME GUMMY, MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO SAFELY SHIFT GEARS ACCUARATELY.

5 YRS AGO THE SOUND OF MY ENGINE CHANGED AND UPON INSPECTION THE WELDING ON THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD WAS CRACKED. I WAS INFORMED BY PEMBROKE PINES NISSAN THAT SINCE CAR IS AT 38,500 MILES AND OUT OF WARRANTY DESPITE IT BEING A MANUFACTURE FAILURE IT WOULD SET ME BACK $975. I DIDN'T HAVE THE REPAIR DONE. FOR THE PAST 3 YRS, MY PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT WILL TURN OFF AND ON EVEN IRREGARDLESS IF SOMEONE IS IN THE SEAT OR NOT. FURTHERMORE, THE RADIO WILL GO BLANK OR HAVE ILLEGIBLE CHARACTERS ON IT. I TOO HAVE THE MELTING DASH ISSUE AS WELL AS A COUPLE OF TIMES I SLIPPED AND MY FINGER NAIL HAS GOUGED OUT PIECES OF DASH BOARD. IT WAS WINDY MORNING AT 3 AM ON 70 W AND SUDDENLY MY CAR'S CRUISE CONTROL LIGHT STARTED BLINKING, AND MY CAR STARTED TO LOSE ITS ACCELERATION (WHILE IN MOTION ON HIGHWAY 70).WITH A DOUBLE TRAILER TRUCK BEHIND MY CAR A FEW OTHER TRUCKS LINED BEHIND IT, MY CAR LOST ACCELERATION AND IT FELL UNDER 40 MILES IN A FEW DREADFUL SECONDS ON A NATIONAL HIGHWAY. MY CAR CONTINUOUSLY WIGGLED AS IT KEPT DROPPING SPEED WITH A WHISTLING SOUND FROM THE ENGINE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE NEXT DAY RECEIVED ANOTHER CALL FROM SERVICE SPECIALIST AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS NOT APPROVED BY CONSUMER AFFAIRS FOR REPAIR. I CALLED CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD RECEIVE A CALL ON FRIDAY, SEPT. 18 FROM NISSAN'S REGIONAL SPECIALIST, QUINASHAY, THAT MORE INFORMATION WAS BEING GATHERED FROM SHEEHY NISSAN. THE "PASSENGER AIRBAG NOT ON" LIGHT HAS BEEN INTERMITTENTLY FLASHING. IT NOW REMAINS LIT (PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF) WHEN THE SEAT IS UNOCCUPIED AND WHEN A FULL GROWN ADULT SITS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. IN NOVEMBER OF 2012, THE AIRBAG LIGHT BEGAN TO FLASH ON THE DASHBOARD PANEL. I TOOK MY CAR INTO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR AFTER READING ABOUT CAMPAIGN 08V521000. AFTER DIAGNOSTICS WERE RAN BY THE TECHNICIAN, IT WAS FOUND THAT THE SRS SYSTEM WAS OFF, THE OCCUPANT SENSORY UNIT FAILED (DTC CODE B1018), AND A NEW SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY IS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE MALFUNCTION. NISSAN WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE MALFUNCTION AND DENIED COVERING THE REPAIR UNDER THE RECALL SINCE MY VIN DIDN'T FALL UNDER THE RECALL, EVEN THOUGH THE CONDITIONS FOR REPAIR FIT THE DESCRIPTION. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL SENDING UNIT WAS REPLACED ONCE ON THE VEHICLE. SIX MONTHS AFTER THE REPAIR, THE FUEL LEVEL GAUGE FAILED AND WAS DISPLAYING ONE QUARTER OF A TANK LESS THAN WHAT WAS ACTUALLY IN THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FORE REPAIRS OR INSPECTION OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 33,100. MY DAUGHTER AND I WERE ABOUT 30 MINUTES NORTH OF SAN ANTONIO ON OUR WAY HOME TO DALLAS. IN AN INSTANCE MY CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING AND THE MPH DECLINED. I CHECKED TO MAKE SURE THE CAR WAS STILL IN DRIVE AND IT WAS. I PULLED OVER AS TO NOT CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND TURNED OFF MY CAR. IT TOOK A FEW TIMES TO START IT BACK AS IT WOULD START AND DIE. I HAVE 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA 2.5 S WHICH HAS PUSH BUTTON START. I.E. PERSON HAS TO PUSH BUTTON AND PRESS BRAKE AT SAME TIME TO START THE ENGINE. THERE IS A SWITCH / SENSOR NEAR BRAKE PEDAL WHICH SENDS SIGNAL THAT BRAKE HAS BEEN PRESSED (AND ALSO TURNS ON REAR BRAKE LIGHTS). ONE DAY, ALL OF SUDDEN, WHEN I TRIED TO START CAR IT DIDN'T START. IT KEEP SAYING PRESS BRAKE (ACCESSORIES / RADIO ETC ALL TURN ON). SO THE CYCLE OF ACCESSORIES - ON- OFF KEPT ON HAPPENING. I THOUGHT BATTERY IS WEAK AND EVEN TRIED JUMP START. SO, AFTER TRYING PUSHING BRAKE + BUTTON FOR 30MINUTES , CAR FINALLY STARTED. THIS HAPPENED 2-3 TIMES AND I GOT VERY FRUSTRATED....FINALLY I STARTED READING ONLINE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. VEHICLE WAS DRIVING ALONG WITH OTHER NORMAL TRAFFIC WHEN IT SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND STALLED ON AN INCLINE. DRIVER CAREFULLY STEERED VEHICLE TO A SAFE PLACE DOWNHILL AND CALLED A TOWING COMPANY TO TOW VEHICLE TO DRIVER'S RESIDENCE. UPON VISUAL INSPECTION OF ENGINE COMPARTMENT, A RUBBER SEAL ON THE ECM WIRING HARNESS WAS FOUND BUCKLED UP. ON TRYING TO REMOVE AND RE-INSERT THE HARNESS, IT WAS FOUND THAT ECM TERMINALS HAD CORRODED AND SOME PIN CONTACT HAD ACTUALLY FALLEN OFF. UPON DOING SOME RESEARCH, THIS WAS FOUND TO BE AN ISSUE COVERED UNDER FEDERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY. DRIVER/OWNER CALLED THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHO IMMEDIATELY, PRESUMABLY AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE, TOWED THE CAR TO THEIR FACILITY, CHECKED AND FOUND THE ECM TO BE FAULTY BUT BLAMED THE FAULTY WIRING HARNESS FOR THE FAILURE. AND FURTHER, THE DEALER CLAIMED SINCE THE HARNESS CARRIES A 3 YEAR WARRANTY AND WAS THE "CAUSE" OF THE ECM FAILURE, THIS WAS NO LONGER COVERED UNDER FEDERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY RESULTING IN A BILL OF $2,000+ FOR REPLACING THE FAULTY - CORRODED - WIRING HARNESS AND THE FAULTY ECM. ATTEMPTS TO HAVE THE DEALER DO MORE RESEARCH OR CONTACT NISSAN USA FOR ADVISE FELL ON DEAF EARS. IF THE CAR HAD STALLED ON HIGH SPEED AND CAUSED FATALITIES ON THE HIGHWAY, WOULD THESE REPAIRS THEN HAVE BEEN "PART" OF FEDERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY COVERAGE FOR PUBLICITY PURPOSES? MY NAME IS FATIMA OWODUNNI, I AM REPORTING AN ACCIDENT I HAD WITH MY NISSAN ALTIMA 2008 ON 7/28/09. I REQUEST THAT NHTSA INVESTIGATE A MAJOR CAR DEFECT OF MY NISSAN ALTIMA COUPE. ON 09/25/2009 I WAS DRIVING ON BRUCKNER EXPRESSWAY CLOSE THE EXIT 52 TO BRONX RIVER PARKWAY. I WAS DRIVING BETWEEN 45 TO 50 MPH, THE BREAKS STOPPED WORKING, I TAPPED THE BREAKS CONTINUOUSLY AND STILL THEY DID NOT WORK AFTER A FEW SECONDS THE STEERING WHEEL STARTING TURNING UN-CONTROLLABLY TO THE RIGHT, THEN TO THE LEFT. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE CONTACT STRUCK DEBRIS ON THE ROADWAY. AS A RESULT, A PIECE OF METAL BECAME LODGED IN THE FUEL TANK AND WAS HANGING DOWN. THE FAILURE CAUSED A FUEL LEAK. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY ARE REPLACING THE FUEL TANK. THE DEALER STATED THAT WHATEVER HE STRUCK CAUSED GASOLINE TO LEAK FROM THE FUEL TANK. VEHICLE RIDES UNSTABLE. SHARP TURNS CAUSES CAR TO BECOME UNSTABLE, LOSES CONTROLS OF TURN. TIRES OR RIMS UNBALANCED. HAVE VEHICLE SEEM MANY TIMES AND THE PROBLEM CAN NOT BE CORRECTED. NEITHER REPRESENTATIVE WOULD CONFIRM PROBLEM. TOLD BY AMERICAN TIRES SALE ASSOCIATE, NISSAN WILL NOT REIMBURSE THEM FOR CORRECTING THE PROBLEMS. THEY REBALANCED THE TIRES, BUT THIS DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. ADVISE RIGHT FRONT TIRE PROBLEM, BUT THEY WOULD NOT GIVE A WRITE UP ON THE PROBLEM. MY VEHICLE HAS HAD TOO MANY RECALLS. HANLEES RICHMOND HILLTOP NISSAN SHOULD HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THE MANY RECALLS, PRIOR TO SELLING THIS VEHICLE. MARCH 26, 2009 HAD CAR IN FOR SERVICING, DRIVER SEAT BROKEN, BRAKE HARDWARE DAMAGED - BRAKES REPLACED. MILEAGE AT TIME OF SERVICING 12,800. I HAD COMPLAINED ABOUT THESE PROBLEMS FROM DAY ONE. I SPOKE WITH THE FINANCE ASSOCIATE ABOUT REPLACING THE CAR, BUT HE REFUSED.. I HAVE NOTED FROM SERVICING ORDER ON MARCH 26, 2009 - HEAT SHIELD PROBLEM - HIGH RPM ON INITIAL STARTUP. ANTIOCH SERVICE ADVISOR DID NOT ADDRESS THIS MATTER, BECAUSE NISSAN HAS NOT ISSUED A CORRECTION ORDER ON THIS AS OF TODAY. BOTH BACK PASSENGER DOORS ON THE 2008 ALTIMA SOMETIMES DO NOT CLOSE. AFTER OPENING THE DOORS, AND THEN TRYING TO SHUT THE DOORS THEY DO NOT LATCH SHUT AND BOUNCE BACK TO THE OPEN POSITION. DRIVERS SEAT SQUIRMS MOVES AND IS NOT RIGID. DEALERSHIP SAYS THEY CAN NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. EVERY TIME I TURN THE SEAT MAKES NOISE AND SOUNDS SQUIRMS LIKE ITS NOT PROPERLY SECURE. THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT ALSO COMES ON WHEN A FULLY GROWN ADULT IS SITTING IN IT. THIS HAPPENS RANDOMLY ON AN AVERAGE OF 4-5 TIMES MONTHLY. WHEN THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS DEACTIVATED NOT PROTECTING THE INDIVIDUAL. THERE IS ALSO AN ISSUE WITH THE BRAKES WHEN PRESSED SOMETIMES THE BRAKES IN THE FRONT DO NOT GRAB PROPERLY AND THEY GRIND BADLY CAUSING THE CAR NOT TO STOP AS WELL . FIRST DAY FOR PICK UP, HEADLIGHT POP, FIX IT THE NEXT DAY, TOOK 90 MINUTES JUST TO FIX ONE HEADLIGHT, AFTER 6 WEEKS, CAR TURNS OFF WHEN DRIVING ONE OF THE MOST BUSIEST HWY AND THE STEERING LOCKS; ONLY WAY TO START IT IS BY PUTTING IT TO "PARK" HOLD BRAKES DOWN ALL THE WAY THEN PUSH THE BUTTON AND COMING FROM THAT, IT WAS NOT SAFE AT ALL, DRIVERS WERE HONKING AND SWERVING JUST TO MANEUVER AWAY FROM ME, CALLED DEALERSHIP TO WHERE I PURCHASE CAR TO FIX THE PROBLEM, TOLD THEM THAT THE CAR HAD TURNED OFF 4 TIMES ON THE SAME HWY AND THANK GOD IT TURNED OFF ON A STRAIGHT AWAY NOT WHILE TURNING, SHOWED THEM A VIDEO IN WHICH I INTEND TO HOLD FOR EVIDENCE. DROP IT OFF 7:00AM, DEALERSHIP HAD SAID ABOUT CODES; THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR AND HAD REPLUG EVERY PLUG THAT WAS ON THE CAR IN WHICH IT WOULD BE RESET, GAVE CAR BACK WITHIN 9 HOURS SAYING THE CAR WILL NOT TURN OFF AGAIN AND IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN BRING IT BACK. AFTER A WEEK AND A HALF, THE CAR HAD TURNED OFF PLUS WITH THE GAUGES(NOT KNOWING THE SPEED I WAS GOING) AND RADIO DISPLAY WENT OUT AND THIS IS WHEN IT WAS RAINING HECTIC AND I WASN'T ABLE TO USE HIGH BEAMS AUTOMATICALLY TO WHERE IT LOCKS FORWARD BUT TO PULL IT TOWARDS ME MANUALLY WHILE DRIVING. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. THE PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED AS A FAULTY SEAL BETWEEN THE FUEL FILLER PIPE AND THE GAS CAP. THIS REQUIRES SANDING OF THE FILLER PIPE. THE SAME PROBLEM WAS FIXED LESS THAN TWO YEARS AGO AND THE CAR HAS ONLY 41,000 MILES ON IT. WHEN QUESTIONED ABOUT THE REPEAT REPAIR, THE DEALER INDICATED THAT 2 YEARS WAS A "GOOD" AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THIS REPAIR WHICH USUALLY HAS TO BE REPEATED IN A YEAR OR YEAR AND A HALF.
