The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds at night, the low beam headlights would independently dim. No warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired due to the cost. Upon further investigation, the contact related the failure to Service Campaign Number: PC861; however, the warranty had expired in March 2022. Another local dealer was contacted for a second opinion, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

I can not drive at night because I can see at all and I am afraid I am going to crash..The lights are so dim that it seems that they are not even on..I have to turn my high beams on just to see and I was warned that I can recieve a ticket for driving with high beams on..I went to the Nissan company and they said there was nothing they could because they didn't honor the recall on the headlight assemblies anymore and I would have to pay $1500 to replace them. I'm disabled and can not afford to do that..please help me

(NOT RELATED TO CURRENTLY OPEN HOOD LATCH RECALL) I’m the current owner of a 2013–2018 Nissan Altima, a model range known for a headlight delamination defect. This issue causes the reflective coating inside the headlamp to degrade, severely reducing light output. It’s a major safety risk for drivers, other motorists, and pedestrians—especially at night. A class action lawsuit acknowledged this and led to a limited repair program. However, I—like many others—only discovered the issue after that window had closed. As a second owner, I reached out to Nissan requesting a “goodwill repair,” which they define as a discretionary repair for issues outside normal coverage. Nissan declined. I was told by Erica on the executive team that goodwill repairs are more likely if there’s a history of maintenance at a Nissan dealership. In other words, if the previous owner spent money at a dealership, Nissan would be more willing to repair a known factory defect. This policy is unfair. Routine maintenance should have no bearing on a company’s responsibility to fix a well-documented safety defect. That logic leaves many current owners—who had no control over previous maintenance decisions—without support. Over 1.5 million affected Altimas are still on U.S. roads, many now in the hands of second or third owners. These drivers may be unaware of the issue or unable to afford repairs for something that should never have occurred in the first place. I’m asking Nissan to re-open the repair program or evaluate on a case-by case basis, considering fairness and safety. This could be offered to anyone who purchased the car after the repair window. Until then, I—and many others—are left to drive with dangerously dim headlights, putting ourselves, our passengers, and the general public at unnecessary risk. This is about more than customer service. It’s about corporate responsibility and public safety.

My regular headlights are not bright and cannot see 10 feet in front of my car without my high beams on. I have had my headlights "restored" by professionals and I can still not see in front of my car with my regular running headlights. This has now been an on-going issue and I am unable to drive at night because I cannot see in front of my car and I feel VERY unsafe in doing so. I feel like I am at risk because I cannot see unless my high beams are on and then that puts the oncoming traffic at risk as I am blinding them. I feel like oncoming traffic cannot see my normal headlights and at a risk of getting hit. I fortunately have NOT had any accidents but I cannot drive at night because of this issue. I do not feel safe for myself, my family or other drivers at this point.This has been an on-going issue that seems to be getting worse as the brightness continues to deteriorate as more time goes by.

The front seat passenger air bag detection system does not detect a passenger in the seat and turns off the frontal air bag. This has occurred numerous times and applies to certain 2015 Nissan Altimas. Nissan claims the recall to repair the Occupant Classification System does not apply to our VIN number, yet we continue to have this safety issue. The issued has been addressed with several dealerships, even provided them videos of the problem, and the problem continues as of today's date.

Failure of Airbags to deploy after a rear end collision by another car. On 01.31.2025. My vehicle - a Nissan Altima 2015 was hit by an SUV while stopped at an intersection behind another vehicle. My Altima was thrust forward into the vehicle stopped ahead ome causing significant rear damage to the rear and front bumper, the trunk, and left tail lights. Despite the force of the collision and the resulting hit of the front car ahead, none of the Altima airbags deployed to protect me from serious injuries which can be potentially fatal. This indicates that the airbags may be faulty and non-operational. The car has been deemed a total loss and insurance has declined my claim and cannot compensate me because of limited collision coverage for the vehicle, and the offending driver fled the scene and cannot be identified. The offender almost ran me over as I tried to exit the vehicle to identify them. There are no warning lamps on the dashboard except - "trunk open" warning after the incident The police inspected the vehicle and details are in the police report attached

My car has been to Nissan service 3 times for a faulty airbag light - it thinks the driver seat is unoccupied when it is not - that means the air bag may not activate. The dealer has been able to turn off the light but it eventually comes back on. It meets all the criteria below for the recall but the VIN is excluded. I have paid $562.02 in service fees and now they want $2,000 to replace the seat. I would like my VIN added to the recall. 2015 Nissan Altima Air Bag Recall Nissan has announced that 919 vehicles have been affected by a Air Bag recall. Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Altima and Pathfinder vehicles, 2013-2014 Nissan Sentra vehicles, 2013 Infiniti JX35 vehicles, 2014-2015 Infiniti QX60 vehicles and 2014 Infiniti QX60 Hybrid vehicles. The affected vehicles received an incorrect occupant classification system (OCS) control unit during a repair. These OCS control units may incorrectly classify the front passenger seat as empty, when it is occupied by an adult. If the OCS does not detect an adult occupant in the passenger seat, the passenger air bag would be deactivated. Failure of the passenger airbag to deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of injury to the passenger.

Car began shuddering when trying to accelerate. Car periodically will stop running or not start. No dash lights came on until recently when car would not start the battery nd engine light came on This all started end of September. Has been diagnosed by Nissan Dealership with 2nd diagnosis by an automotive shop close to my home. Informed this is a known issue with this make and model. Researched online and found this the be true. I received no notification. Both came up with transmission and CVT internal problem. Safety hazard for car to die in traffic. I have cancer and heart failure which makes general mobility an issue. I can’t quickly exit the car nd get out of the way of traffic. Informed only the dealership can address the issue. Quoted $6700 to repair/replace

Car was driving fine went to work on January 2nd 2025 and when I went to leave I put it in reverse it went and when I put it in drive the car would not. Shift into drive . Had it taken in where they quoted me $7,776.00 For the transmission to be replace my Altima has been taken very good care of it was bought at 31k and it has 141k all high way miles. Nissan said it was under warranty and I missed it by 20k miles I was never notified of a recall on the transmission they sent out recalls for the hood latch amd a Reprogramming issue with the cvt. Prior to that. That was fixed at a Nissan dealer ship.

The left and right rear control arms both snapped. The right one has been repaired and the left one is in the mechanic shop to be worked on next week. The right rear control arm snapped while I was driving two months ago. The left rear control arm snapped while I was driving last night. Both times the car was violently shaking and pulling left and right off of the road and into the other lane. The vehicle was only inspected by the mechanics that have worked on it and myself. The warning lamps turned on immediately but not before the arm snapped and the shaking began.

Hood latch will not release. Suspect the latch or components under the hood, similar to other Nissan Altima's that were recalled for same issue, failed similarly and now repairs and or quick access to engine bay in the event of an emergency is impossible without first repairing the latch and components involved. Called Nissan dealership they said some Nissan Altima's had been recalled for the same issue, but not mine. No indication of failure until owner attempted to open the hood. Hood had opened up till the last service at a Nissan dealership. Scheduled repair at a Nissan dealership at my own expense since it isn't covered under recalls like other Nissan Altima's.

The rear control arm corroded and disconnected from the car. While I was driving. I was backing out of my driveway and there was a loud clinking noise and I observed the drivers side control arm hanging down. And my tire is now very high in the wheel well. Thank God it did not let go while I was on the highway.

Over the last 2 years I had both left and right side rear "lower link" suspension elements "rot out" and break while operating the vehicle. Both times leaving me stranded roadside. After the the 2nd failure I felt it couldn't be a coincidence and found Nissan has issued a voluntary action and admitted using faulty parts in Altima's between 2013 to 2018. They voluntarily extended the warranty to 10 years and unlimited mileage. They are now denying repair of my issue because I am 2 weeks beyond their arbitrary 120 month warranty extension. I say arbitrary because how can they put a time limit on parts you know to be faulty and are corroding? I have one of these known faulty parts and simply based on random circumstances mine failed 2 weeks too late. So they dodge responsibility for selling me a poor quality car? At the urging of the dealer, I escalated with Customer Satisfaction believing they would own up to this and acknowledge responsibility. Customer Satisfaction mandated I must tow the car to Nissan to confirm failure of the part - which I did at my expense. The dealer confirmed the part failure but Customer Satisfaction parroted the "denied because it was 2 weeks too late" position. I believe Nissan 1) Minimized to the NSTB the safety risk this failure poses (breaking while at moderate to high speeds and stranding people in traffic roadside), 2) Is failing to act in good faith to cover a know manufacturers defect and 3) is employing "bait and switch" tactics by telling customer to have vehicles towed to their service centers to only then deny coverage based purely on "calendar date" (in hopes of forcing a customer to pay to use their service center).

My transmission has went on my car. I’ve only had my car for 3 years. The car isn’t that old..while driving on the highway my car stopped and would not shift gears.I took my car to Nissan they claimed to fix the problem but my car stopped on me once Again while driving. The dealership fixed sensors in the engine. After the problem was not fixed the said it was my transmission. This is a safety issue and could have caused a accident. Other Nissan drivers are having this same issues..this is happening to multiple Nissans around the country. There should be a recall opened on the transmissions. Why should we the customers hav to pay for faulty transmissions.

My 2015 Nissan Altima started having some steering issues over the 2022-2023 winter. It seemed a bit stiff, but I thought it was from the snow tires I had just had placed. When it continued after change over in the spring to regular tires, I took it in and they said I had low power steering fluid. They replaced it for around $100 and it was working fine. they said there was no leak in the steering fluid, however. Since they replaced the steering fluid, (over the last month), the steering intermittently will completely go out for a few seconds the car will start pulling to the side, and I will have to crank on the wheel, and then it self resolves. I took it into Boucher Nissan in Waukesha, Wisconsin. They went over it for about an hour and they said they couldn’t find any problems. This is happened two times again over the last couple of weeks. It is also starting to sound like the engine is almost going to give out at times. I don’t know what to do because if it’s intermittent, how are they going to fix it? I could take it to another mechanic, but he may not find it either. I’m a bit scared to drive and driving slowly.

Steering - Rack and Pinion Issues - Struts Leaking possible FACTORY DEFECT per Dealership. It is extremely unsafe to drive with a bad rack and pinion because you no longer can control your vehicle and keep it in a straight line. There would be so much free play and your vehicle would just wander on the road. This could be fatal for you and the other drivers. The problem was confirmed by the Dealers (Alhambra Nissan Dealership in California). There were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure.

2015 Nissan Altima power steering. 1. While driving the vehicle does not track steady. I constantly must correct as it sways on a straight road. 2. Periodically the steering goes out, the steering becomes stiff, it is an extreme safety issue to maintain control of the vehicle. Vehicle was take to a dealer for inspection the faulty power steering pump was confirmed, quoted $1800.00 including labor to replace. These issues occur without warning at any time. Proper fluid and fluid levels have been checked. The first occurrence of the steering becoming stiff was approximately January 2021. The swaying started probably about a month to two months earlier.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME FIRM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BOCH NISSAN (685 S WASHINGTON ST, NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, MA 02760) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH POWER STEERING FAILURE. THE POWER STEERING SHAFT WAS REPLACED ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND COVERED THE REPAIR COST FOR THE THIRD REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AFTER THE PREVIOUS FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,564.

Our Nissan Altima has been experiencing the brake lamp relay switch issue, where the brake light will be on when brakes are not pushed and causes issue with acceleration. There is an existing recall open on this exact issue for the 2013-2015 models, however when I called a Nissan Service Center was advised our VIN is not part of the recall and would not be covered. Obviously the manufacturing date for our vehicle and others likewise should be included as it is the same exact issue. This puts a huge risk that this faulty product will cause an accident when you are unable to get up to speed because of the faulty parts.

I bought my car brand new in 2015 from a Nissan dealership. Few months after that the breaks started making noise. I took my car to the dealership thinking that I needed new breaks and learned that the breakes were fine and the issue was debris accumulations inside the breaks. Since then I had the same issue a number of times, roughly every 3-5 months depending mileage. Through the years I learned that this was a rather known issue with Nissan Altima 2015. The issue requires opening the breaks, cleaning, and then putting them back. Because this was a known issue, the dealerships fixed my car for free in the past. But last time, I took it to another dealership near my current location and they charged me almost $300 for cleaning the breaks. I'm reporting to see if it would be possible to investigate and find solutions for this recurring issue. I have several recipes dating back to 2015, not sure if they indicate details on the cleaning though.

Both Sun Visors have failed. They no longer hold their positions. They just droop at random. I consider this a real safety issue for the driver because the visor can droop at any time and I pair the driver’s vision.

THE DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR RANDOMLY DROPS INTO THE DOWN POSITION BLOCKING THE DRIVER'S VISIBILITY. THE VISOR FALLS WITHOUT WARNING AND CAN BE STARTLING. While driving at night in a poorly lit area, I could barely see. I turned on the high beam but it blinded on coming traffic. I checked into this and found out Nissan was sued for this and had a short (approximately 3 months) period when you could get it fixed for free from the dealership. No recall issued even though Nissan was well aware of this. But when I tried to get it fixed, the dealership did not have the parts. There is only one dealership in Sacramento, so by the time I could get back with them, this repair window was closed. I think this was too short of a repair time for such a safety hazard.

Fatally flawed Nissan headlight assembly. The dim low-beam headlights of my 2015 Nissan Altima have been the subject of a class action lawsuit against Nissan. They may or may not have been the subject of a proposed or actual recall. My dealer is now telling me that I missed some deadline under an “inspection recall.” Apparently to confirm whether my headlights are dim or not. My vehicle was in a Nissan service center for other repairs in Jan of 2018 and again in June of 2021, they ran my VIN number. They should have told me there was some arbitrary deadline to meet to fix their fatally flawed headlight assembly. Someone at Nissan consumer affairs tells me that my VIN number isn’t included in the lawsuit/recall. This is irrelevant. My headlights are certainly UNSAFELY DIM. My 17 yr old Toyota and 19 yr old dodge both have brighter headlights than my 7 yr old Nissan. I expect Nissan to do what is right. This is a defective part that will lead to injury. I’m only asking for my vehicle to be safe again. This should be a wide recall with NO arbitrary deadlines. I fear for the safety of my wife and my children.

Since I bought my 2015 Nissan Altima, the low-beam headlights have been dangerously dim. I stopped driving at night as I almost hit pedestrians. I'm jeopardizing my safety and others on the road. Installing a new headlight did not change visibility and the Nissan dealership inspected the problem and recommended an "Aftermarket" headlight assembly. There are no warning symptoms or signs of this problem and the vehicle is still equipped with its original headlight housing.

My 2015 Nissan Altima SV begin losing power and revving up and RPMs but would not move. When I exited the interstate to see what was going on because at that time the check engine light had also come on I came to the stop sign and when I proceeded to move forward to find somewhere safe to park the vehicle would not go but the accelerator but the RPMs went up. Putting my wife's life and myself in danger of uncommon traffic because vehicle barely wanted to move I had the vehicle towed to Nissan dealership in the following morning the service manager called me and let me know that they checked out the vehicle and that it was a transmission and also the speed control sensor he said there was no recalls on it but did have three six and 12 month financing so that they can continue to do the repairs. I am currently just paid the vehicle off two weeks ago and I'm frustrated that this has happened. This was the third time this has happened to this vehicle the first two times my wife had to pull over waited close to an hour as vehicle cool down and then proceeded to continue home which was fine but these are happening every two to three months now.

WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, I WAS FORCED TO ABRUPTLY ENGAGE THE BRAKE PEDAL TO AVOID CRASHING INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE; HOWEVER, WHEN I APPLIED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL THE VEHICLE STRAINED TO MOVE FORWARD AND ACCELERATE BUT WITHIN A FEW MINUTES I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE NORMAL SPEED. IT ACTED LIKE IT WAS STARTING OFF IN 3RD GEAR, WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS! WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP, I WAS TOLD THAT IF SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD COME ON, BUT IT WOULD COST ME $200 FOR A DIAGNOSIS SINCE IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. NOW, MY CAR HAS 140K MILES AND IS OUT OF WARRANTY, THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND THEY STILL WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I am reporting a serious safety issue with the rear lower control arms on my 2015 Nissan Altima. The control arms have completely failed due to severe corrosion, and my vehicle is now undrivable. This failure occurred without warning and poses a significant risk to driver and passenger safety. I live in Massachusetts, where road salt is heavily used, and corrosion is a known hazard. I’ve learned that this issue was part of NHTSA investigation EA18-001, which covered 2013–2018 Altimas, but no recall was issued. My dealership denied coverage due to warranty expiration, and Nissan Consumer Affairs said they cannot guarantee a goodwill repair. I am requesting that NHTSA reopen or escalate this issue. My vehicle is immobilized, and I am left without transportation due to a known defect. I have documentation and photos available upon request.

Driving to work and the car started acting like there was a flat tire and was difficult to steer properly. Pulled over to find that the back left wheel is crooked. Looked underneath and the arm to the wheel is completely broke. Looks to have rusted out and broke completely.

Driving on Highway when all of a sudden i started fishtailing in both lanes, I was able to regain control after about 5seconds by slowing down , I was still having control issues until i got to a speed of 20-30 mph. Luckily i was only few hundred feet from my exit and got off and stopped at gas station. Looked underneath and noticed the lower control arm came off or broke off.

WE PURCHASED THE CAR NEW IN 2014 AND ALWAYS TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE OIL CHANGES AND TIRE ROTATION. WE NOTICED THE LOW TIRE SIGNAL COMING ON FROM TIME TO TIME. I GOT A SMALL NAIL IN THE FRONT TIRE AND TOOK IT TO A GARAGE TO GET IT REMOVED. THE CAR JUST TURNED OVER 40,000 MILES. WE TOLD THE ATTENDANT WE WERE GOING ON VACATION THE NEXT WEEK AND HE CHECKED ALL 4 TIRES. THAT IS WHEN WE FOUND OUT THAT THE 2 REAR TIRES BELTS WERE BREAKING ON THE INSIDE AND THE INSIDE TIRE TREADS HAD UNUSUAL WEAR.NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO BUY NEW TIRES WITH ONLY 40,000 MILES.

The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle jerked and made an abnormally loud sound. The check engine warning light intermittently illuminated. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, the key fob failed to function as intended. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but denied assistance in covering the cost of the repair. The vehicle remained at the residence and had not been driven since the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Vehicle has a current defected transmission that Nissan is aware off and fixed vehicles within a certain warranty period. Customers should have received letter making them aware of the defected transmission, I explained to Nissan I never received a letter. I am assuming this happened because I purchased the vehicle used, the person I spoke to from Nissan said unfortunately this happens. Nissan should be required to fix the vehicle as they failed to notify me of the defected transmission.

I was on the 15 freeway going home and bent down to pick up something I dropped and hit the car that was stopped in front of me. What I remember is my glasses flying off and I hit my chest and head on the steering wheel and also broke my foot. At that time I realized that the air bag did not deploy and the seat belt did not hold me and I hit the steering wheel with full force. I spent three days in the trauma center being treated for bleeding on the brain. There was 10 recalls on this vehicle, a 2015 Nissan Altima, and 2 former owners did not carry out their responsibilities to get the recalls taken care of. Now I am suffering because the owners where too lazy to be responsable.

ON OR AROUND 6/20/16 I RECEIVED A NHTSA ANS NISSAN NORTH AMERICA, INC RECALL NOTICE REGARDING THE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM (OCS) IN MY VEHICLE. I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR 6/28/16 WITH NISSAN OF UNION CITY, WHERE I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE. MY VEHICLE WAS SERVICED ON THE AFOREMENTIONED DATE, AND I WAS INFORMED BY NISSAN OF UNION CITY THAT THE RECALL MALFUNCTION WAS CORRECTED. HOWEVER, THAT IS NOT THE TRUTH. THE OCS HAS APPARENTLY BEEN TURNED OFF COMPLETELY, THEREBY CAUSING A SAFETY RISK TO MYSELF AND MY PASSENGERS. WITH THIS FUNCTION TURNED OFF, THE VEHICLE RESTRAINT SYSTEM MAY NOT WORK. I NEED THE SYSTEM TO BE TESTED BECAUSE I HAVE NOT BEEN ASSURED OF THE SAFETY OF THE SYSTEM BY NISSAN OF UNION CITY AFTER THE ISSUE WAS ALLEGEDLY CORRECTED BY THEM. PLEASE INVESTIGATE MY COMPLAINT.

THE PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSOR INTERMITTENTLY DOES NOT SENSE A PASSENGER THEREFORE THE PASSENGER AIR BAG WARNING SYSTEM STAYS OFF. MY WORRY IS, IF IN AN ACCIDENT WILL MY WIFE OF 54 YEARS BE SAVED BY THE AIR BAG DEPLOYING OR NOT. I TRIED TO RELEASE THE HOOD BY WAY OF PULLING THE INTERIOR LATCH, IT DID NOT OPEN. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT IN THE NEXT DAY. I GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND PRESSED ON IT (TO BE SURE IT WAS CLOSED) AND DROVE AWAY FROM THE GAS STATION. THE VEHICLE "HIGH CENTERED" AT VARIOUS PLACES ON SPEED HUMPS, SOME OF WHICH REQUIRED BACKING UP TO SPARE WORSE AFFECTS. EARLY DAMAGE IS INEVITABLE, AND UNSAFE, AND COSTLY. FREQUENTLY THE VEHICLE SCRAPES AT PARKING BARRIERS AND CURBS. IN NO WAY CAN IT BE DRIVEN ON A PASTURE ROAD OF RUTS AND CENTER RIDGED ELEVATIONS, BOTH FOR "HIGH CENTERING" AND CATCHING PLANT LIFE ON FIRE DUE TO DRAGGING THE VEHICLE BOTTOM ON THE CENTER RIDGE. THE REAR CAMERA IS MORE DISTRACTING THAN BENEFICIAL, SINCE ABOUT FIVE VIEWS MUST BE MADE WHEN MOVING IN REVERSE, AND THE CAMERA VIEW, THE 6TH, IS SO INCONCLUSIVE.

CAR COMPLETELY POWERED OFF WHILE TRAVELING TRAVELING AT 10MPH. THE ENGINE AND BATTERY SYMBOL APPEARED, CAR WAS ABLE TO COME TO A ROLLING STOP. PLACED IN PARK AND WAS ABLE TO RESTART WITH NO ISSUES. TEN MINUTES LATER, CAR IS TRAVELING 60MPH AND CAR POWERED OFF, CONSOLE TURNED BLACK, CAR POWERED ON, POWERED OFF AND THEN POWERED ON WHILE MAINTAINING SAME SPEED. i am original owner. Twice now in the early morning I have found my trunk automatically opened with out reason. I thought maybe i did it by mistake but i clearly did not after 2nd time. Never has this happened in my life to any of my cars. After looking online I found other owners also experienced same occurrence with this 2015 Altima. I understand it could be anything, bad battery in hand clicker, faulty electrical switch, etc. I located the on/off switch in the glove compartment and turned it off. Now, i just have to remember to turn it on/off all the time so i don't find the trunk opened again. I could get my car stolen if i leave my car out side and go out of town. 1) if there is a recall to get this electrical fixed, please let me known. Thank you

My car battery died as I turned off the engine in a parking lot. I was unable to unlock the electronic locks. I was stuck in my car for 20 minutes at 100 degree heat before help arrived and was able to assist. There is not a manual unlock mechanism in the interior of the car that would have helped me. I even searched online for any way to let me exit the car with no electricity. If I had been farther away, my health would’ve been very compromised- I am just lucky I did not have a child with me. As a person with multiple health issues, this scenario has me absolutely terrified.

Took my car to Nissn dealership for water leak after heavy rain that could effect electrical components. Before they looked at they asked if I had a sunroof and advised it gets clogged easily with this vehicle and thats why I had water getting in my car. This is a known issue with Nissan but they dont address to consumers and. Mt car also had a mildew smell now as well

Upon entering highway and reaching 75 mph, vehicle pulled hard to right.I made a correction to keep vehicle in center lane of a three lane highway. Shortly after I made the first correction, the vehicle again pulled rather aggressively to the right, I again made a correction back to maintain center of lane. After making second correction, I noticed my steering wheel very off center to maintain vehicle tracking straight in the lane. (Steering wheel indicating a left turn to maintain a straight track). Simultaneously, the vehicle traction control indicator illuminated on the drivers display. I quickly checked my tire pressures to rule out a flat tire. I pulled off to the shoulder of the highway, as the vehicle was getting more difficult to control in a straight line. Not noticing any obvious damage and the need to vacate the highway environment, I illuminated my hazards and drove approximately 5-10 mph to the next exit 1/8 mile away. Arriving in a safe location, I again exited the vehicle to inspect all four wheels at which time I observed the right rear tire angled inward at a harsh angle. Upon further inspection, the right rear lower suspension control arm had broken free at the bushing and angled the coil spring downward at an angle. The vehicle was not able to be driven and subsequently towed via flatbed 45 miles to my auto repair facility.

Took car in and asked Nissan dealer to inspect rear lower links as there was a creaking noise and had just received extended 10 year warranty from manufacturer on components. Said completely fine. 3 weeks later driving down the road heard a thump in back end and car became impossible to control even at less than 20 miles an hour causing it to fishtail from lane to lane. Took car back in for repair and passenger side lower link completely rusted and snapped. Drivers side was also completely corroded and upon removal was also cracked. This could not have happened in 3 weeks time if inspected and had nothing wrong. Dealer told me even though they were completely corroded, which was what the warranty stated, they could not repair until physically broken as per Nissan. Dealer has stated they have had others with issues similar to mine but manufacturer will not replace until physically broken, which then creates a serious hazard to cars occupants and others on the road. I do not feel the perimeters of this recall are at all safe, as if I had been on a major highway doing 65 with this vehicle a serious accident would have occurred.

The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH, a gunshot-like sound came from the vehicle. The contact stated that upon pulling back the sunroof shade, several glass pieces fell from the sunroof. The vehicle was initially taken to an independent mechanic where the contact was informed that the independent mechanic could not repair the sunroof. The vehicle was then taken to a Nissan dealer who then referred the contact to a Chevrolet dealer. The vehicle was taken to Monument Chevrolet (3940 Pasadena Fwy, Pasadena, TX 77503), and the contact was informed that the part to repair the vehicle would be a ten-year-old sunroof found at a junkyard. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.

The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that the side mirrors adjuster switch was no longer operable. The contact stated that the passenger's side headlight was inoperable. The contact stated that her husband was an independent mechanic, and he replaced the passenger's side headlight bulb. The contact stated that 6 months later, the driver's side headlight became inoperable. The light bulb was replaced; however, the failure persisted. Additionally, the rear passenger's side and front driver's side parking lights, and the front driver's side and passenger's side fog lights became inoperable. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact's husband inspected the headlight fuses and noticed that they were in good condition; however, the contact's husband replaced the headlight fuses, but the failure persisted. The contact's husband determined that the fuse box was overloaded. The contact's husband installed a secondary fuse box under the hood, and connected some of the headlight wires, and the headlights became operable, except for the fog lights. An unknown dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.

The gear stick gets stuck when trying to shift gears it wont move from Parking, headlights seem to not give enough lighting when on, I have replaced the transmission after 3years of having the vehicle, I still owe on the loan and the vehicle still shakes when driving over 80mph on the freeway. I dont currently have any warning lights on the vehicle. I have taken the vehicle many times for repairs for the same complaint that the vehicle shakes when driving it and the problem still has not been resolved. I already spent a lot of money on trying to fix the problems.

I'm having the same problem with this Nissan Altima 2015 that I had with my Nissan Altima 2010 where it was a recall on the CVT. There are times when I'm pressing the gas, and the car will not and I have to pull over, turn the car off, and turn it back on. When I'm at a stoplight, and I press the gas it will not accelerate with my foot all the way down on the gas. The car will then jerk, and take off really fast. There have been several times when I have almost had accidents.

I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THIS MORNING AND STOPPED AT THE LIGHT TO MAKE THE LEFT TURN (ABOUT 5 MINUTES INTO MY DRIVE). ONCE THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I STEPPED ON THE GAS BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. I HAD TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON. PUSHING ON THE GAS, THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE TO THE MORE THAN 40 MPH. I TURNED THE CAR AROUND TO GO HOME (ABOUT 1 MILE AWAY) AS I DIDN'T FEEL IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE AND HAD TO STOP AT A RED LIGHT TO MAKE THE RIGHT TURN. ONCE STOPPED, THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. IT WAS STILL ON AND NO WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON AND WAS ABLE TO SLOWLY ACCELERATE, AGAIN NO MORE THAN 40 MPH. THIS WAS SCARY AND DANGEROUS. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT.

For the last few days my car has been hesitant to accelerate. At low speed acceleration it jerks a few times then the rpms go way high and is slow to shift & accelerate. It is automatic. This problem has been gradually increasing over past 2 years. I did take it to a dealership when the hood latch was replaced due to recall this year and they just suggested I drain/replace the transmission fluid in hopes that it fixes the acceleration issues. They already knew when I went into the dealership that it wasn't in warranty anymore and because I couldn't afford to fully fix the problem they just brushed me off. This isn't a safe car anymore to drive. I have 2 children and this is our primary vehicle. I just know whatever this issue with the transmission and power train stuff is not safe and it's only a matter of time until something major brakes down, I just hope it does not clunk out on us to where we wreck. These power train/transmission issues have started affecting the cruise control, air flow of the car, and possibly affecting the sensors which then could be another ordeal with electrical issues. NISSAN WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE TRANNY/POWER TRAIN > EXTEND THE WARRANTY OR FIND AND FIX THIS ISSUE I bought the car in 2018 with less than 20,000 miles and have done regular maintenance, new tires every year, oils changes, replacing air filters and wipers, replacing brake pads, ive had to replace the brake booster already and flushed the whole brake system because of this acceleration issue I figured the brakes causing the lag but this car is just falling apart these past 2 years, rust on the trunk near the silver trim has caused the trunk to open on its own and the back-up camera feels like its slowly going out, the headlights are too dim to drive at night(even the brights now are dim), the rear passenger window just dropped down one day off the roller and I can't get the window back up and stay on the roller. Problem after Problem. Safety concern after safety concern.

I HAVE NOTICED THAT WHEN PRESSING DOWN ON THE THE ACCELERATION PEDAL THERE IS SOMETIMES AN EXTENDED DELAY AND THE CAR DOES NOT MOVE. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN ALWAYS, BUT I HAVE READ THAT ALOT PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUES, AND NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW THE CAUSE. PERSONALLY, AFTER PUTTING THE CAR IN PARK, TURNING OFF AND TURNING ON THE CAR SEEMS TO ALLOW IT TO ACCELERATE AGAIN. MY SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE WITH THIS HAPPENED TWICE IN A TWO WEEK SPAN. I WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL PRESSED DOWN ON A REGULAR TWO WAY ROADWAY. AS THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE BY PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE, AND THE RPMS WOULD JUST GO UP. THIS SAME EXPERIENCE HAPPENED ANOTHER TIME AS WELL. PLEASE LOOK INTO IT AS A POSSIBLE RECALL FOR SOME PROGRAMMING ON THIS CVT TRANSMISSION, AS THIS COULD BE A VERY POTENTIALLY BAD RISK, ESPECIALLY DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHERE LOSING THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE CAN RESULT IN MAJOR ACCIDENTS/DEATHS.

I KEEP READING THE SAME EXACT STORY AS MINE, YET NO RECALLS OR HELP FOR THIS PROBLEM ON SO MANY NISSAN ALTIMAS. SITTING STILL AT A REDLIGHT, LIGHT TURNS GREEN, YOUR FOOT IS ON ACCELERATOR BUT NOTHING HAPPENS FOR FIVE TO TEN SECONDS. FINALLY THE ENGINE BEGINS TO REV. EXTREMELY SCARY WHEN TURNING IN FRONT OF TRAFFIC. CAN ALSO HAPPEN WHEN GOING DOWN THE ROAD AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE TACHOMETER RACES, ENGINE RACES, AND WONT COME DOWN UNTIL YOU PULL OVER AND TURN THE CAR OFF AND IMMEDIATELY TURN IT BACK ON. THIS RESETS SOMETHING AND EVERYTHING IS OKAY THEN. TURNING IT BACK ON RESETS THE PROBLEM SO IT'S OBVIOUSLY A SIMPLE ISSUE BUT IT IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM. THE CAR FAILS TO ACCELERATE WHEN I STEP ON THE GAS PEDAL. SOMETIMES IT WILL HAVE DELAYED ACCELERATION OR NONE AT ALL. THE ENGINE WILL REV BUT NO MOTION. I ALSO TOOK THE CAR FOR A SMOG CHECK IN ATTEMPT TO CHANGE OWNERSHIP AND IT DIDN'T PASS SMOG A CODE P0776 CAME UP. TOOK IT TO AN AUTO REPAIR SHOP AND THEY STATED IT WAS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. NOW I'M STUCK WITH THIS DANGEROUS DEATH TRAP. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS WHILE TURNING AND WHILE ON THE FREEWAY. IT HAPPENS PERIODICALLY WITH NO WARNING.

DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 75MPH AND THE CAR STARTS JERKING AND I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE I BELIEVED THE CAR WOULD STOP. CAR WILL SUDDENLY LOSE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE DURING HOT OR COLD WEATHER. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THE CAR WILL HESITATE TO MOVE FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS THEN WILL SUDDENLY BEGIN TO ACCELERATE AT A VERY LOW SPEED. I was using cruise control on the highway. My RPMs started going up and down and my speed slowed. I took it off cruise control and the speed was irregular. The car responded slowly to my pressing the accelerator. My car started squealing and I pulled over on the turnpike. I tried to press the accelerator after I stopped but the car would not move. I was unsafe because my car was on the shoulder of a highway and it was 85 degrees. I was also unsafe because my speed was not consistent and there was traffic around me. Lastly, I had to wait an hour for a tow truck. Two mechanics confirmed that this is a CVT judder problem. There were no warning lamps and no signs of a problem before this occurred.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND WHILE DRIVING, THERE WAS A STRONG FUEL ODOR PRESENT IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL ODOR WAS AN EXCESSIVE CONTINUOUS VARIABLE TRANSMISSION FUME. THERE WERE NO VISIBLE LEAKS PRESENT. THE LOCAL DEALER, HOWELL MOTORS, INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT NO FUMES WERE PRESENT; HOWEVER, AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC CONFIRMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION VALVE BECAME LOOSE. THERE WERE ALSO CRACKS IN THE DASHBOARD THAT WERE VISIBLE FOR MORE THAN ONE YEAR. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT IF SHE COULD PROVIDE MEDICAL RECORDS INDICATING THAT THE FUMES CREATED HEALTH ISSUES, THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO DIAGNOSE AND/OR DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HER INJURY INCLUDED COUGHING UP SOLIDIFIED PETROLEUM DUE TO THE FUMES AND THERE WAS A STRONG ODOR ON HER CLOTHING. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE VERY BAD LOW BEAM LIGHTING AT NIGHT. ITS SO TERRIBLE THAT ITS LIKE HAVING NO LIGHTS ON AT ALL AND RIDING WITH THEM ON CONSTANT HIGH BEAMS HAS RESULTED IN ME BEING PULLED OVER ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS BY POLICE BUT ITS ALSO UNSAFE TO ALL OTHER DRIVERS I PASS. THE LOW BEAMS WERE WHY I HAD AN ACCIDENT IN NOV OF 2023. THAT RESULTED IN ME GOING DOWN AN EMBANKMENT HITTING A TREE HEAD ON. FROM THAT ACCIDENT I ALSO LEARNED THE AIR BAGS WERE FAULTY BC THEY DID NOT DEPLOY EITHER. I WAS ONLY INJURED WITH A FEW SCRAPES, BRUISES AND ALOT OF SORENESS BUT IT COULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH WORSE. I HAVE THE PHOTOS FROM THAT WRECK THAT SHOWS THE DAMAGE BUT ALSO HOW THE AIR BAGS DIDNT DEPLOY AS WELL. I PLAN TO LOOK INTO WHAT OTHER ACTIONS I CAN TAKE AGAINST NISSAN SINCE THEY KNOW THESE ARE ISSUES AND HAVE NOT FIXED THEM. MY CAR WAS MANUFACTURED IN OCTOBER OF 2015. The contact stated while driving approximately 15 MPH at night, the visibility of the roadway was difficult to see due to the low-beam headlights not providing adequate illumination. The contact used the hi-beam headlights for better visibility while driving. The contact also stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000.

Out of town and control arms went while turning a corner. My steering wheel was sideways and I was going straight. There was no warning, noises or dashboard lights prior to this happening. My vehicle has 130k but well maintained. Prior to this happening I was driving on the Thruway at 65mph, this could of broke then causing a potential accident or something worse. Why wasn't there any warning lights advising of this potential problem?

The control arm broke due to rust. This happened while I was driving. I read that Nissan recalled 2013 and 2014 Altimas due to this exact same problem. My car is 2015 but experienced the same problem and it is very dangerous. The arm might have had a crack in addition to rust. I don’t know when the crack happened since I bought this car used. When I examined the break, the rust and crack have been there for a long time.

This is my 3rd Altima. The first 2 were amazing. This 1 is not. I bought it used from Shift.com with 73k miles on it. About 6-8 months later I started feeling something wrong in the steering. The shop I took it too said the lower control arms were in the rear were corroded and the bushing were going bad. Tried to get it repaired thru the extended warranty I paid extra for but that was a nightmare and we ended fixing it ourselves. Something was still wrong. I put new tires on it, still wrong. Changed out the struts on front and shocks on rear, new control arms,, bushings, sway bar links, and tie rods. New brake pads and rotors. Then I bought custom wheels and another set of new tires for it. Took it and had an alignment done. The shop said everything looked good. Not long after it started drifting all over the road and I started hearing a whining noise. The next shop said the electric hydraulic power steering pump was going bad. Again the warranty company only allows the shop to call in and handle any repair claims and then they make them sit on hold forever. This is my only transportation and I can't wait for it to break in order for the warranty to repair it. In the meantime trying to figure out what to do the car is getting harder to drive straight down the road. I turned left thru an intersection and ran over the center median blowing out a tire. In 2 other occasions I hit my new wheels on the curb because the steering wheel has excessive play in it. We ended up changing the power steering unit without help from the warranty. After some research I had the lower steering shaft replaced also. The entire suspension has been replaced(front struts 2x) and it only has 115k miles on it. It's had 3 alignments in 2 years and yesterday the man at Les Schwab said the rack and pinion has some play in it. As well as the upper steering shaft needing to be replaced also. Oh and the CVT transmission is now leaking.

My car only has 36,400 miles. I went for an oil change at a third party garage and was told my front control arms are cracked and need to be replaced. I went to the dealer who confirmed this and also said there was a recall on the rear control arms. I have talked to numerous mechanics who said that the control arm should not be failing at 36,400 miles. I contacted Nissan asking them to help me with the cost of the front control arms since they are failing at such low mileage. They are not willing to do anything. I feel like the front should be replaced by the dealer.

BRAKE ISSUE, ABS, TRACTION, WHILE DRIVING MY CAR AT 15 MPH MY BRAKES LOCKED UP AND STOPPED MY CAR IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD (WITH TRAFFIC) FAIRLY FORCEFUL STOP I MIGHT ADD. THERE HAS ALSO BEEN A GRINDING NOISE WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES AT RANDOM TIME. 1 WEEK PRIOR TO THE ISSUE WITH THE BRAKES MY DRIVING ASSIST SENSORS MALFUNCTIONED. AFTER OBTAINING A RENTAL CAR THE SATURDAY THAT MY BRAKES FAILED I WAS TOLD THAT MONDAY MORNING THAT MY CAR WAS FINE AND THAT MY BRAKES FAILED WHEN MY DRIVER ASSIST SENSORS MALFUNCTIONED A WEEK PRIOR. TALK ABOUT SCARY AND MY FAMILY NO LONGER FEELS SAFE IN MY CAR. NISSAN TOLD ME THIS WAS A NORMAL FUNCTION OF THE CAR AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT. THERE IS ALSO ACCORDING TO NISSAN REP AN UNKNOWN CLANKING NOISE COMING FROM THE SUSPENSION AND OR STEERING. I TRULY BELIEVE THAT WITH ALL OF THESE ISSUES GOING ON THERE IS A HUGE RISK OF MY FAMILY BEING IN HARMS WAY.

My headlights are very dim (very dangerous) to the point I can’t see 10 feet when the sun goes down. I never got a recall notice for Nissan 2013-2018 dim headlights. I need Nissan to remedy my car and have the headlamps replaced ASAP since I use the car to drive my elderly parents to their appts because I am their caregiver.

THE INTERIOR LIGHTS DON'T WORK I HAVE A PUSH START AND I HAVE TO USE MY KEY TO UNLOCK/LOCK THE DOORS. THE BEEPER DOESN'T WORK AND THE BATTERY HAS BEEN REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES. MY CAR ALSO DRIVES AS IF IT'S IN NEUTRAL AND WON'T PICK UP SPEED. I HAVE TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND START IT BACK UP FOR IT TO STOP BUT IT WILL DO IT CONSTANTLY. I was in turning lane and when traffic cleared enough to turn I pushed gas, and nothing happened it was just idle, no rpm, no movement let go of gas pushed again barely moved and then didn’t go anywhere. Oncoming traffic at that point was approaching then it engaged and was fine! It did it two more times as I was sitting at light and once while just driving

EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE NO MATTER HOW FAR PUT MY FOOT DOWN ON THE PEDAL IT WILL NOT ACCELERATE. THIS IS EXTREAMLY DANGEROUS AS IT HAS HAPPENED WHEN CROSSING INTERSECTION IN VERY BUSY TRAFFIC SITUATIONS. DURING THIS TIME, I SPOKE WITH FOUR (4) DIFFERENT REPRESENTATIVES OVER THE CHAT ABOUT THE NEED TO SCHEDULE AN AIRBAG SERVICE RECALL. I am unable to see at night because my headlights are dim but keep passing inspection, and I am afraid I am going to crash... I have complained to my Nissan dealership since the recall was in effect but it has expired and I continuously pass inspection but when I drive at night I have to use high beams and can not see a thing. This is my 4th attempt for help. I almost hit a deer the other night. The lights are so dim that it seems that they are not even on..I have to turn my high beams on just to see and I was warned that I can recieve a ticket for driving with high beams on..I went to the Nissan company and they said there was nothing they could because they didn't honor the recall on the headlight assemblies anymore and I would have to pay $1500 to replace them. I'm disabled and can not afford to do that..what else can Nissan do I am getting ready to get rid of this and advise everyone of Nissan practices.

I CANNOT RECALL THE EXACT DATE, BUT LATE 2018/EARLY 2019, WHILE DRIVING DOWN A RESIDENTIAL STREET I NOTICED HOW DIM MY HEADLIGHTS WERE. BEING THAT MY CAR IS A 2015 MODEL, I NAIVELY EQUATED IT TO AGE AND LIGHTBULB DIMNESS; WHICH WAS NOT THE CASE. I SWAPPED HEAD LIGHT BULBS, TO NO AVAIL; I OPTED FOR THE MOST EXPENSIVE HEAD LIGHT BULB IN AUTOZONE, BUT STILL HELLA DIM. IN MY MOST RECENT VISIT TO SHEEHY NISSAN SERVICE, A RECOMMENDED SERVICE IS TO "REPLACE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY/BAD REFLECTIONS." IN ADDITION TO THE SERVICE BEING RECOMMENDED, I WAS INFORMED THAT IT HAS BEEN A PROBLEM VOICED TO SERVICE TECHS BY MANY OTHER 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA OWNERS.

While driving down the interstate at 70 miles per hour, going up an incline, the car lost ALL power & then jerked kicking back into gear. Once off the interstate attempting to get to a safe place, it completely shut off without warning! No check engine lights or any warning lights. Just randomly shuts off. After replacing what was assumed as the mass flow air sensor ($186.00) & the crankshaft sensor ($80) it continues to have issues. The battery (new battery $220) was also replaced & the alternator checked due to randomly shutting off-which checked out to be fine. Come to find out it’s the CVT judder. After reading all the complaints, I’m confused as to why there isn’t a recall or extended warranty on the transmission. My car only has 119k miles! We should not be having issues with these transmission.

I have a issue with my vehicle going into LIMP MODE due to a safety issue with the TCM loosing programming with the transmission. This is a BIG SAFETY as I'm on the Hi way. Car will go from 75 mph down to 20mph and can cause for severe car accident. I spike to your warranty department and they gave me the run around. I gave them Info in reguards to a Campaing ID# Which is a clear issue that these NISSAN CARS are still having. A recall was terminated in late 2016, yet a bulletin was posted online of it being active as of 1/ 2017 still. I was told that it's MY PROBLEM NOW AND MY ISSUE TO HAVE NISSAN CHARGE ME FOR A REPROGRAMMING of the TCM when Clearly this issue is still present in. Vehicles in 2024. Many of times I came close to averting a major accident due to car loosing communications with TCM. AGAIN this is very unfair as to how a dealership can brush this SAFETY ISSUE UNDER THE RUG BY SIMPLY TELLING A NISSAN VEHICLE OWNER, SORRY RECALL WAS CLOSED, AFTER LESS THEN A YEAR OF FINDING OUT THE ISSUE ON A CAR. NISSAN must want someone to end up DEAD in there cars due to a TCM MALFUNCTION WITH TRANSMISSION SO THEY CAN BRING THIS TO LIGHT AGAIN. In 3 different occasions in this same particular order my car would start to slowly loose acceleration of only letting me drive to 10mph before lights on dash would come on such as ps,abs,traction control ect. Then my radio would shut off followed by my whole dashboard before completely the whole vehicle would completely shutdown on me and I could not start up again. I replaced the battery and put in a new alternator, but continued doing the exact same issue. I took it to a mechanic and he determined that for whatever reason the new alternator was not sending out the power and replaced it again and have to reprogram the entire computer because it was sending all kinds of codes that had nothing to do with my vehicles issue. He also noticed the continues whining sort of whistling noise coming from the powersterring as I have read in the past that people have that same problem on this particular model. As of this moment its been about 1 month and has not yet stalled on me for now, but it is very dangerous when this happens in the middle of the street or highway when your running at a certain speed and cannot control your steering since its powersterring.

Airbag sensor warning lamp is on. Has happened in the past as well but Nissan fixed it since there was a recall. Now the car is outside the warranty, Nissan does not want to fix their defected airbag components/sensors and is asking for $1700 to start with a replacement part on the back of the driver seat and does not even guarantee the fix, they say more diagnosis/repairs might be needed after the first fix. I need help. Nissan North America refused to help and told me if I want I can reach out to NHTSA since there is no recall at the moment. The air bags will not work in the event of a crash and my wife drives this car everyday with my 2 little girls. Can NHTSA help with this safety issue? I purchased this car brand new from Nissan, I am the only owner and this car has never been in an accident.

Car was misfiring for a while. Got spark plugs and coils changed. Two days after they were changed car still kept misfiring and jerking and wouldn’t change from the first gear and takes a minute to accelerate after a complete stop. Has white smoke coming from the muffler. Two days ago it stalled to start and would not drive or reverse. Dash board keeps saying system malfunction and LDW (lane departure warning) and BSW (blindspot warning) and check engine light stays on.

I PURCHASED MY 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA BRAND NEW FROM THE DEALER. IN SEPT 2015 AT 25,000 MILES, WHILE DRIVING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY, THE CAR SLOW DOWN AS IF I WAS DRIVING IN A LOW GEAR. THE RPM WENT UP, BUT THE CAR IS MOVING VERY SLOW. I STOP THE CAR AND CALLED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THEY TOLD ME TO STOP AND PARK THE CAR THEN RESTARTED THE CAR AFTER GIVING IT SERVAL MINS OF COOLING DOWN. I TOOK THE CAR THE SERVICE THE NEXT DAY, THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. I CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE CAR FOR ANOTHER SIX OR SO MONTHS THEN THE SAME HAPPENED AGAIN. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, NO PROBLEM WAS FOUND AGAIN. THE CAR HESITATES AND JERKS WHILE DRIVING OR TRYING TO DRIVE FROM A STOP WHICH FEELS VERY UNSAFE AND MAKES ME WORRY ABOUT BEING HIT. THERE ARE SO MANY PROBLEMS THAT ARE UNSAFE WITH THE 2015 ALTIMA AND NISSAN REFUSES TO ADMIT THEM AND CONSTANTLY SAYS "EVERYTHING IS NORMAL" OR 'ITS THE WAY THAT TRANSMISSION WORKS". The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the vehicle jerked and made an abnormally loud sound. The vehicle failed to accelerate as intended while depressing the accelerator pedal, and the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to coast to the side of the road. The contact stated that the check engine and stabili-trak warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to the residence, and then was towed to the dealer. The vehicle was diagnosed and determined that the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. The repair was pending. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact that the VIN was included in Nissan Manufacturer Recall Number: PC490. The contact was advised that a manager would reach out. However, the contact was awaiting a call from the manager. The contact was advised that the dealer was refusing to repair the vehicle, because the vehicle was not under recall. The failure mileage was approximately 190,300.

the headlights are very bad and have to basically drive with the high beams on in order to see because on low beam i almost ran someone over i changed the bulbs a few times but it has not improved any and while changing them that it seems as the bulb burnt something. I have been on the nissan forums and theres many complaints saying that nissan knows something is faulty and they refuse to recall and fix it

I purchased my 2015 Nissan Altima in July, 2022 with 56,530 miles on it. At this date it has approximately 71,500 miles on it. I have driven it 14,970 miles in 2.5 years. On [XXX] I was driving home from Thanksgiving in East Brunswick, NJ to my home in South Philadelphia on [XXX] in New Jersey when my car suddenly began to have a slow down in ability to accelerate. I ended up pulling over after a moment of slowing down and not knowing what was happening. When I got to the break down lane, the car stalled. I ended up getting road side assistance to tow me to Ward's Automotive in Mt. Laurel, NJ, where my family and I have brought cars for many years (we used to live in Moorestown, NJ. Ward's ended up telling me the following Monday that my engine was "bad." I have no idea how my engine died after only 71,500 miles on this car! I got oil changes on it every 5,000 miles. I did report to the dealership in December, 2022 that I was hearing weird noises coming from the right front side but they told me they heard nothing. What can I do??? I am still paying for this vehicle (approx. $3,100 left on loan). I did not purchase an extended warranty when I bought it used. I have learned my lesson, but I need help understanding what rights I have. I don't know if there is any Manufacturer's Warranty on the car. Please help me! My low beam headlights very low ,so low seems like they aren't on,have to drive with high beams on, there was a recall in 2022, that I wasn't made aware of also the control arm front driver and passenger side is cracked and my car has never been wrecked. Brought it brand new off the Nissan dealership lot. Had issues from the start with the interior they call themselves fixing ( but did not).

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced and that there was no warranty coverage. The vehicle was not repaired. Please see this other report I filled out: 11526603. Thus far have paid about $1100 to get new, steering fluid, repair brakes, get a new battery, transmission fluid, and fuel injection service. They said this would fix the problem. The problem was not fixed. I took the car back again and they kept it several hours. Their higher level mechanic still couldn’t figure out a problem. Now, the car has a new weird noise. When I drove it this morning, it sounded like there was a motorcycle driving nearby, yet I couldn’t see one. Then I figured out, it was my own engine, making some extra noise. I’m going to try to get into a different mechanic tomorrow. God help me. So now two problems: steering and engine. I hope the car will make it to the mechanic.

I bought 2015 Nissan Altima from Cars Express on 2/17/2023. He breached verabal agreement and will not fix the safety issues. I paid him for the paint job on front bumper and paid for the paint. Witnesses that he would pay then refused pay the paint men so I paid them once vehicle was in my possession front blinkers do not work headlight out. Safety sensor is cut. Air bag light came on and says air bags not on check engine light came on.. I tried to talk to him about safety concerns and I asked to return the vehicle for full payment including the paint and paint job I already paid him. The car was a salvage rebuilt and the hood of the car needed to be aligned that wasn’t done, safety concern is hood might open while I’m driving. He defrauded/scammed me. I’m stuck with an vehicle that is not safe, he does his own repairs which he told me he takes them a mechanic. He buys wrecks and chop shop fixes them. The car was inspected on 1/14/2023 by [XXX]. Hello, On October 15th, close to 5 pm, I was driving on a busy highway surrounded by other cars when suddenly, the hood of my 2015 Nissan Altima slammed into my windshield. There was damage to the hood, a cracked windshield, the left side wheel was pulling to the side, and there was damage done near the sunroof top of my car. The interior light box inside the car was hanging. My insurance was made aware of the incident. I am a 67-year-old woman. I and others on that highway could have lost our lives. My 2015 Nissan Altima, I've had it (7 years), started stopping without warning. Last week, I've had the valve cover replaced, because it was oil coming through one of the chambers of my spark plugs, I got a new battery, & I got the oil changed to make sure that everything was flowing correctly and running clean. Then it happened again. I put my car in park, I turned it off, and started again. There were no warning lights or codes that came across the dashboard. It was more frustrating because there's no warning no preparation it just does it so I did a system diagnostic ( Hitting the push to start button 5 times then hitting the door Button on the inside of the door jam 10 times then hitting the push to start button 3 times and the car will test all of the systems). My car was not running hot, there are no warning lights, you don't know when it's happening it feels like it's pulling or struggling with torque, and then before you know it you've come to a complete stop. It happened in the middle of an intersection. Multiple codes are hiding in the system, with no indications on the dash. The code discovered by my local mechanic was P7F1 (transmission code). This is based Tech Bulletin #NTB15083A. Hundreds of owners of Nissans have indicated the same issues with no resolve from Nissan or their local dealerships This is dangerous

At less than 68,000 miles, the timing chain started to fail. There were oil leaks reported over 6,000 miles before but dealer said it was due to the oil change, but we now know it was the valve cover gasket. Losing power due to engine failure would be unsafe given power steering gone etc...

The problem with the C17F1 cvt judder when pressing the gas the car would not go. So you turn car off. Then restart car pressing gas all the way down, and the car jumps forward and luckily doesn’t hit car in front of you. Nissan is well aware of cvt transmission problems on 2011 and 2015 Altima’s in which now it costs me $5400.00 to replace this transmission. Nissan should of advertised this car as LEMON transmission CAR because you are almost guaranteed to have the transmission replaced. My car has 102 thousand miles and I’m forced to Pay $5400.00 for this defected transmission that Nissan was well aware of. I hate this car that I have paid so much money for. On top of list price plus this repair that I will never get my money back costs over 27000 dollars. I’m retired and Nissan sold me a LEMON.

I was on the highway and my car would not accelerate at all, during up hill or flat portions of the highway . This was was super scary because I’m on the highway in Pennsylvania so there’s semi’s flying by. So I pulled off an exit turned the car off waited, unplugged the battery and after a few mins I plugged the battery in and started the car. This did not work at all, so I took a backroad home, later on the car started working correctly. I made an appointment to get the car looked at (thank goodness for extended warranties) but it happened again while I was getting on the highway, I almost got hit by a semi hauling a reefer, almost peeled myself swerved into the side of the highway. Cause a ton of traffic, cuz I could not get home any other way, so I took it in that same day freaking out cuz I almost died. The said it was a bad O2 sensor and that it was covered under the warranty. So they fixed it and everything was fine until last year I got sideswiped by this old lady in a old af Hyundai suv. And she literally took my entire front fascia so my insurance covered all the repairs and the rental I needed but once they gave it back I noticed the car was hesitating again I legit took it right back. I think I only had the car for 20mins. So they took it to a Nissan dealership so they could run their own test because the O2 seemed fine. Turns out the tranny needed an update… didn’t know that transmission could get an update like my iPhone. Anyway the car has been working perfectly fine since I did have to buy aftermarket head lights since the oem are trash and in PA there’s tons of deer everywhere. I do take very good care of my car it is currently at almost 180,000 and still runs super well. I do keep up with all maintenance since I do it myself. Haven’t had any real issues that I can’t fix. With the exception of the AC not working but the car is obviously out of warranty and I haven’t had the time to get under the beauty cover to look at it.

Head lights, very dim/low visibility. Marker/daytime running light went out. I’ve been having to use high hi beams at nights because my low beams are very dim which can be a safety concern for other drivers as well as not being able to see more than 10 feet in front of me. The AC E knob also stays on when trying to turn it off and does not start the compressor to make the air cold

Twice now when I have gone to pull out my car has died on me with no warning.The first time was in Aug,2021 the next was in Sep or Oct 202. I have also noticed that when I'm driving and not accelerating (like going down a hill) then start accelerating the car will sputter like if it's not getting gas. It is really scary when it has died on me pulling out I've almost got hit by other vehicles.

Involved in +$6,000 not at fault front end crash on 9/29/2021 in Tampa Florida. Aggravated previous knee problems. Vehicle is currently at Caliper Collision in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Insurance involved. Air bag failed to go off. All front end safety sensors failed to work. Previously vehicle was taken to dealer to have forward collision/emergency braking fixed after light on dash was on. Was told it was fixed.

AFTER A RECENT RAIN I NOTICED A VERY STRONG MUSTY, MOLDY ODOR AND THE SOUND OF WATER AS I BACKED OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, AS I REACHED LEVEL GROUND MY FEET WHERE SOAKED WITH WATER. I HAVE HAD THE DRAIN TUBES CLEANED AND CLEARED AS THIS WAS MENTION TO ME AT THE DEALERSHIP AS A COMMON PROBLEM. THIS DID NOT FIX THE WATER LEAK AND NISSAN REQUIRES $475 TO CHECK THE PROBLEM FURTHER. AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON PASSENGER SIDE SEAT INDICATING AIR BAG OFF,WITH PASSENGER SITTING IN SEAT(PASSENGER WEIGHS OVER 115 #. I HAVE BROUGHT CAR IN FOR SEAT AND AIR BAG RECALL! BROUGHT IN 2 MORE TIMES FOR SAME PROBLEM. STILL SAME PROBLEMS. CONTACTED NISSAN CORP AND TOLD PROBLEM. AS TOLD BY NISSAN REP THAT THEY SPOKE WITH DEALERSHIP THAT ALL WAS DONE TO CORRECT PROBLEM AND KNOWN OF ANYTHING THAT THEY COULD DO FOR PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM DOES THIS ERRATICALLY WHEN CAR IS IN MOTION OR STATIONARY. I M AM AFRAID TO USE AUTO WITH PASS IN SEAT NOT KNOWING IF AIR BAG WOULD WORK IN CASE OF A ACCIDENT.

I RECENTLY SWITCHED FROM AN AUDI A6, WHICH USES HID BULBS TO A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA 2.5 L. THIS MODEL USES HALOGEN BULBS, AS I HAVE DISCOVERED. I WAS DRIVING AT NIGHT DURING THE FIRST WEEK OF OWNING THE NISSAN AND HAD POOR VISIBILITY OF THE ROAD. I WAS DRIVING SLOWLY TOWARD A STOPLIGHT AND COULD NOT SEE THE SMALL STRIP OF MEDIAN TO MY LEFT AS I WAS COMING TO THE STOPLIGHT. I HIT IT, AND THE SIDEWALL IN THE PASSENGER-SIDE TIRE BLEW OUT. I LATER LOOKED UP THE VEHICLE SAFETY REPORT ON THIS MODEL AND I SEE THAT IT RECEIVED A "POOR" UNDER THE "HEADLIGHTS" SECTION OF THE IIHS WEBSITE. MY CAR WHICH WAS PURCHASED LESS THAN A MONTH AGO, IS BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE THIRD TIME. THE CAR CONTINUES TO HAVE MANY ISSUES. THERE IS A SHIMMY/VIBRATION IN THE STEERING COLUMN AS WELL AS VIBRATION IN THE DOOR, ACCELERATOR AND FLOOR BOARDS. IT OFTEN SEEMS THAT THERE ARE PROBLEMS WITH THE SUSPENSION AS WELL AS THE BRAKES. THE MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE IS THAT THE CAR CONTINUES TO DRIVE OFF THE ROAD TO THE RIGHT AND YOU HAVE TO FORCE IT OUT OF A RIGHT-HAND TURN. ALTHOUGH THIS PROBLEM ALSO SEEMS TO OCCUR TO THE LEFT AS WELL, IT IS NOT AS APPARENT. WHAT IS APPARENT, IS WHEN YOU TRY TO COMPENSATE FOR THE DRIFTING, IT OVER-COMPENSATES TO THE OTHER SIDE AND IT NEVER FEELS AS THOUGH THE TIRES ARE HOLDING THE ROAD AT ALL TIMES. IT IS PRACTICALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO MANAGE THE CAR ON THE HIGHWAY. THIS ISSUE IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE THAT IS NOT ONLY PUTTING THE LIVES OF MYSELF AND MY FAMILY IN DANGER BUT THE LIVES OF THE OTHERS ON THE ROAD AS WELL. I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO CONFIDENCE THAT THIS CAR CAN BE REPAIRED TO ANY LEVEL OF SAFETY.

AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN WOULD STEP ON GAS TO CONTINUE DRIVING WHEN THE VEHICLE DOES NOT ACCELERATE; IT HESITATES TO GO FOR A SECOND OR TWO THEN THE VEHICLE WELL ACCELERATE. FOR EXAMPLE IF THE VEHICLE SUPPOSE TAKES 2 SEC TO REACH 35 MPH THE VEHICLE WOULD TAKE 5 SEC TO REACH 35 MPH. THIS HAS ACCORD ON THE STREETS AFTER MAKING A COMPLETE STOP. THE HAZARD THAT I AM CONCERN IS WHEN TRYING TO MAKE A TURN THERE IS A POSSIBILITY OF BEING HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THE SLOW REACTION OF MAKING MY TURN.I HAVE TALKED TO THE MAINTENANCE AT NISSAN AND TOLD THEM THE ISSUE BUT WAS TOLD THAT IF NONE OF THE SENSOR ARE GOING OFF THEN THE CAR IS FINE. MY PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON WHEN THERE IS A PASSENGER IN THE CAR. IT WILL GO OFF DURING DRIVE TIME. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF I HAVE MY PURSE, A BAG, HEAVY BOOKS OR A PERSON-IT SPORADICALLY GOES OFF AND ON WHILE I AM DRIVING. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE KNOWING THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY IN A CRASH! LITHIA NISSAN HAS CHECKED THE SENSOR, BUT IT IS STILL DOING IT. I OWNED A 2008 ALTIMA AND 2011 ALTIMA THAT NEVER REQUIRED SERVICE OTHER THAN OIL CHANGES AND AIR IN MY TIRES. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS 2015 PIECE OF JUNK! I CAN HEAR WIND NOISE NO MATTER WHAT SPEED I AM DRIVING. I FEEL LIKE I AM IN A CRASH TEST EVERY TIME I SLOW DOWN. NISSAN ALTIMA 4D SEDAN 2.5S FELT AND LOOKED GREAT AT 17 ODOMETER READINGS. OVERTIME IT HAS LOST POWER AND HAS MADE ME HAVE A ROUGH TIME ON HIGHWAY THAN USUAL. GOING AT SPEEDS OF 55-75+ ALL SEATS FEEL AS IF THEY'RE GOING TO DETACH FROM THE BOTTOM COMPARTMENT. WHEELS ON THIS SEDAN ARE AT RECOMMENDED PSI 35-40 YET GOING AT 55-75 SPEEDS IT FEELS AS IF I'M RIDING A HORSE WITH DIFFERENT TYPES OF MEASURES ON EACH SIDE. FRONT WINDOW ALONG WITH REAR END WINDOW HAVE BOTH BEEN DISLOCATED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POSITION. MY CAR IS SLOWLY BREAKING DOWN AT 7.2K MILES BRAND NEW. RECENTLY WENT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP CAR LOAN WAS MADE AND OBVIOUSLY EVERYTHING WAS FINE. I'M NOT GOING TO DEAL WITH THEIR LITTLE GAME. IT'S A MATTER OF TIME UNTIL THE BODY ON THIS SEDAN BREAKS APART. I HAVE HAD NO CAR ACCIDENTS, PROBLEMS BEGAN AS FIRST OIL CHANGE WAS PERFORMED NOV 11 2015. IT'S BECOMING VERY DIFFICULT TO MANAGE VEHICLE ON HIGHWAY AS IT GOES LEFT OR RIGHT AS WIND HITS FRONT/REAR. HAVE PERSONALLY TRIED FIGURING OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS HAVE NOTICED A LOT OF BLACK GOO REAR AREA BY TIRES, FRONT END, UNDER BACK SEATS, UNDER PASSENGER AND DRIVER SEAT. AT TIMES I FEEL AS IF THE RIGHT SIDE IS SUSPENDED A BIT MORE THAN THE LEFT, AND VISE VERSA. NOISE LEVEL HAS INCREASED SIGNIFICANTLY WITH ALL WINDOWS AND DOORS CLOSED. SOMETHINGS DEFINITELY WRONG WITH THE STRUCTURE OF THIS VEHICLE NHTSA, I'M ASKING FOR AN INVESTIGATION HELPING ME AND OTHERS WITH THIS PROBLEM.

CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW IN LATE APRIL 2015. WHEN I OPENED THE TRUNK OF THE VEHICLE FOR THE FIRST TIME, I NOTICED THERE WAS RUST IN THE SPOT WELDS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE TRUNK. FRONT BUMPER ALSO STARTED TO POP OUT ON BOTH SIDES AFTER DRIVING IT THE FIRST DAY AND IS RUBBING AND PEELING PAINT FROM FRAME OF VEHICLE. REAR WINDSHIELD WAS PUSHED ALL THE WAY TO THE LEFT WITH A LARGE GAP TO THE RIGHT. THIS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE. FRONT FASCIA MISALIGNED FROM FACTORY AND RUST EATING AWAY AT MAIN FRAME OF VEHICLE DESPITE THERE BEING NO SCRATCHES OR DAMAGE TO VEHICLE. BOTH SIDE SKIRTS MISALIGNED. ALL DOORS SIGNIFICANTLY MISALIGNED FROM FACTORY. POWER STEERING WHINES AND TRANSMISSION GROANS AND SHIFTS ERRATICALLY. CAR DOES NOT DRIVE STRAIGHT AT SPEEDS 55+ AND WANDERS BETWEEN LANES. IT TAKES MUCH EFFORT TO KEEP IT STRAIGHT. TRUNK LID NOT ALIGNED PROPERLY. BBB MANDATED NISSAN TO REPURCHASE VEHICLE AND BRAND IT AS A LEMON DUE TO SERIOUS SAFETY DEFECTS & NON-CONFORMITIES. NISSAN FAILED TO FIX REAR WINDSHIELD AFTER ONE ATTEMPT AND FAILED TO FIX OTHER ISSUES AFTER 3 REPAIR ATTEMPTS. CAR HAS BEEN AT DEALERSHIP FOR 28+ DAYS. NISSAN FAILED TO CALCULATE CORRECT REPURCHASE NUMBERS AND NISSAN STILL REFUSES TO FIX VEHICLE. AFTER MY PROTESTING, NISSAN REPAIRED REAR WINDSHIELD BUT STRUCTURALLY, THE REST OF THE CAR REMAINS A SAFETY ISSUE. AN INVESTIGATION SHOULD BE LAUNCHED. I DROVE THIS RENTAL CAR AND PARKED IT INSIDE MY DETACHED GARAGE AT 7:30 PM. I NEGLECTED TO PUSH THE START/STOP BUTTON UPON EXITING THE CAR. CONSEQUENTLY, THE CAR CONTINUED TO RUN. AT 10:30 PM, NEEDING A TOOL, I WENT BACK AND OPENED THE GARAGE DOOR. A RUSH OF HOT AIR HIT ME IN THE FACE. TO MY HORROR, I REALIZED THAT I DID NOT SHUT THE CAR OFF. GARAGE TEMPERATURE HAD TO BE ABOUT 120 DEGREES. WHO KNOWS WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED, HAD THE CAR RUN ALL NIGHT. I THINK THERE'S A SIMPLE EASY INEXPENSIVE FIX TO THIS. SOLUTION:REQUIRE ALL AUTO MANUFACTURERS, UTILIZING THE KEYLESS IGNITION OPTION, TO, MANDATORALY, EQUIP ALL VEHICLES WITH AN AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF IF A CAR IDLES IN PARK (TRANSMISSION SELLECTION) FOR MORE THAN 20 MINUTES. THIS SAFETY OPTION SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO BE OVER RIDDEN BY CUSTOMER. I'M JUST THANKFUL THAT MY GARAGE WAS DETACHED. CARBON MONOXIDE DEATHS VIA KEYLESS IGNITION ARE EASILY AVOIDABLE.

WHILE DRIVING ALONE ON 03/12/2015 NOTICED THE AIRBAG AUXILIARY LIGHT COME ON IN MY NEW 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE ALTIMA WAS SERVICED FOR THIS ON 03/18/2015 AND THE LIGHT WAS RESET WITH THE TECHNICIAN STATING THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG SENSOR WAS UNDER RECALL. THEN, WHILE DRIVING ON 03/22/2015 THE AIRBAG AUXILIARY LIGHT CAME ON ONCE AGAIN, ALSO WHEN I WAS THE ONLY OCCUPANT IN THE VEHICLE. THE ALTIMA WAS SERVICED AGAIN FOR THIS ISSUE ON 03/25/2015 WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED OBJECTS LEFT ON THE PASSENGER SEAT (LAPTOP BAGS, ETC.) CAN CAUSE THE SENSOR TO GO OFF AND THAT IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE. THEY RECOMMENDED TO NOT PUT ANYTHING ONTO THE PASSENGER SEAT ASIDE FROM AN ADULT PERSON. ALTHOUGH I HAVE PLACED A BAG ONTO THE PASSENGER SEAT A COUPLE OF TIMES WHILE DRIVING, THE AIRBAG AUXILIARY LIGHT NEVER CAME ON WHILE ANYTHING OR ANYONE WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THEN AGAIN TODAY, 03/26/2015, THE AIRBAG AUXILIARY LIGHT CAME BACK ON IN MY 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA WHILE I WAS DRIVING WITH NOTHING/NO ONE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. *TR
