I was on a gravel road that was nearly level to very slightly up hill. Upon passing some branches that were hanging partially over the road, I decided to trim them so they would not cause me trouble on my way back. I put vehicle in REVERSE and backed up maybe 20', shifted into PARK, got out (left vehicle running), opened the rear door to get clippers and closed it. Walked to the bush maybe 15' to rear of vehicle and clipped a couple small branches and I suddenly heard gravel noise and looked up to see my truck moving FORWARD on its own. I immediately ran after it and it veered left, left the road, proceeded down a hill and crashed into a small tree! This vehicle was a part of the Nissan Parking Pawl recall. I had the needed repairs done by Nissan on April 11th 2023. The vehicle malfunctioned!! Problem has not been reproduced. There has been no inspection by anyone at this time. There were no warnings.

The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that the sticker that displayed the features showed that the vehicle was equipped with an Intelligent Forward Collision Warning System; however, the system occasionally failed to operate as needed. The contact stated that while the cruise control feature was activated on a hill, the vehicle downshifted the vehicle decelerating. The contact became aware of TSB: NTB 22-082a (Service Information for Brake Switch Adjustments for DTC C1142 and/or C1116 Stored). The contact also learned that the transmission control module needed to be reprogrammed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the TSB. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 3.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. Additionally, the contact stated that a notice was received confirming that the remedy was available and to contact a local dealer however, the dealer stated that the part was not yet available. The manufacturer was notified of the issue and advised the contact to notify the dealer but did not confirm if the parts were available. The contact had not experienced a failure. Transmission is rolling 4-5 inches when moving from drive/reverse to park. I am concerned that the vehicle will roll away since it bounces when it finally catches. There was a previous recall 22V457000 but my specific VIN was not included for some reason.

In December 2021, I purchased a 2022 Nissan Frontier Pro-X. The vehicle comes with built-in navigation that, according to their website, should receive map updates quarterly. Since purchasing the vehicle, brand new, there have been no updates to the navigation system nor maps. I have gone back and forth with Nissan support and the dealership only to be told there are no updates. The maps are severely out of date, making a feature that many people rely on useless. Therefore, we are not getting full value of what we are paying for. This is a complaint for numerous Nissan owners as I've found in message board forums. Nissan is not addressing the problem and will not return my messages or address my concern directly.

Infotainment Center which includes rear camera view. Sometimes up to a one minute delay in the system turning on. The dealer has updated the system several times. It may help for awhile but the problem always returns.

2022 vehicle, have owned for less than two years. All cameras stopped working, even rear view camera when in Reverse. Went to dealer, and was quoted $5000 to fix issue, replace AVM control unit (Part # 284A1-9BU1A) Not covered under factory warranty due to having too many miles. It is a common issue to that particular model (2022 Frontier Pro-x) from what I've gathered online. I think it's definitely a safety concern not having a rear view camera and outrageous I would be expected to pay $5000 to fix the issue without even being certain the problem will happen again in another two years

Sometimes when I'm driving down the road the seat reclines all the way back when I spoke to Nissan executive headquarters Maria there said they spoke with Grubbs Nissan and said yes this could happen the seat reclines all the way back and it obstructs The View while I'm driving down the road I need this to stop it's unsafe

Driver's side powered seatback randomly tilts backward, losing the seat settings that the driver has set. Nissan and other Frontier owners say it is because of the way the driver gets in and out of the vehicle, especially by 'heavier drivers', and claim the driver hits the controls with the back of their leg when getting in or out of the vehicle. This requires the driver to adjust the seat each time this happens. I'm one of those 'heavier drivers', and have also noticed that on a few occasions, the seatback slowly tilted back while driving. Because Nissan said it would require a redesign of the seats, my dealer, with the approval of a Nissan regional technician, installed an on/off power switch that cuts the power to the seats so once you set the seat position and turn off the power, the seat doesn't move.

The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the front driver’s seat reclined independently. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure was unable to be diagnosed but various parts were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that the dealer informed him that there was a Technical Service Bulletins for the seat failure however, there was no fix for the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The manufacturer referred the contact back to the dealer for assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 100.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

When using adaptive cruise and there is a slight hill and it loses around 1-3 mph it will change 2-4 gears and get as high as 6500rpm just to make up those lost mph. On one occasion I hit a small patch of gravel on a repaired spot on the highway and temporarily lost control of my truck. This is a major safety issue.

The forward collision warning sensor will not reset after activation due to the bumper having imperfections interfering with operation of the sensor. There is no visible damage to the sensor itself.

When cruise control is active vehicle ramps to 6000 rpm to gain 1-2 mph going up slight inclines and even straight away. This also occurs when going around another vehicle while cruise control is active. This is a major safety issue as this could cause loss of control of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealership and was inspected by a mechanic. The mechanic stated there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. I was told this on 2 occasions when bringing this to the dealerships attention. This has been happening each and every time cruise control is active.

While driving I heard a couple beeps and the display said "System Failure". Then all the warning lights (ABS, Forward Collision, andRear Collision) were on. This will be the third time it has happened. The dealer looked into it and determined it might be the condition when driving like rain or fogg or now, but at the time it happened, it was a clear day. No fix or solution was done to the truck.

The forward collision warning system has engaged multiple times for no reason. The occurrences have each happened during low light accompanied by a light fog at 35-40 MPH causing the vehicle to slow.

I purchased a new trailer wire end connector for my utility trailer 7 wire flat that plugs into rear of pickup. I purchased Hopkins Endurance 7RV metal Connector#48510. This connector is metal and has two piece pistol grip handle. I followed all instructions. The last step was to apply the two piece handle on frame over wires inside. This is problem When you put them togather and apply supplied screw you are to put screw thru inside 7 wires that you can not see. when I turned on I got instant smoke/fire blown fuse. The screw went between ground&hot wire. Delay in short could have caused accident or unattended fire. Product reviews show other owners having same problem as I experienced.

Occasionally the doors will not lock or u lock properly. On multiple occasions, when using they key fob to unlock the doors, you can hear them unlock, but the driver's side door will not. the other doors will be unlocked. I will sometimes have to lock/unlock multiple times or use they key to manually unlock. There have also been at least 2 occasions where the doors will be locked, but I was able to open a door, setting off the car alarm.

The contact stated that after refueling the vehicle the instrument panel read 320 miles until empty; however, recently, the instrument panel read 470 miles until empty. The contact also stated that the instrument panel also read 180 miles until empty however, the fuel gauge would show a quarter tank of fuel remaining in the vehicle. The contact noted that the reading was incorrect. The dealer had been notified of the failure and stated that they were unaware of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 1,000.

The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the ABS warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer however, the cause of the failure could not be duplicated. The contact stated that various undisclosed brake components were replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that while parking the vehicle, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact stated that the vehicle inadvertently accelerated and almost crashed into her home. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 32,000.

“System fault” see owners manual. Forward emergency brake assist not working , reverse emergency brake assist not working. As well as the traction control was not working. Forward/Reverse Safety is a concern because if a vehicle cuts me off or person jumps in front or walks behind of my vehicle it will cause accident. The dealership confirmed the problem. As well as many people state they have had the same problem with same vehicle. Yes there were warning lights etc. this is not the first time this has happened atleast 20 times. I uploaded a picture of the event not the prior ones. I also found a post online about it.

UNKNOWN. HAD THE TRUCK TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE LAST YEAR FOR SUDDEN "SYSTEM FAULT" warning along with check engine, collision avaoidance and braking disabled, TCS OFF, ABS, and several other lights. I have been told the dealer could not find the problem, which is odd because nissan connected services logs data from my truck and emails me when there is a fault, like abs system failure see dealer, I have had the truck to the dealer no less than 4 times when it was actually check and a few other they refused to even look at it. The last visit i had the warning lights all come on and i took it to another dealer and demanded they scan it with out shutting it off which would cause the system to reset and then they could find the fault again. This is frankly dangerous I have had the system fail in low traction / high wind areas where it was dangerous to be drving like that.

Power front doors lock and will not open from the inside or outside. This happens at least every day I think it's very dangerous and other owners of these trucks have reported the same issue.

Door does not always open when unlocking. Door opens partially, but does not unlatch. I have to enter the truck from the passenger side & use the inside handle to open it. Issue us intermittent, and has happened approximately 15 to 20 times over the past year.

A flexible sealant is utilized to fill seams in the roof channel prior to primer, paint, and clear coat applications. Defects in the sealant protrude from the flat surface creating a weak a point in the painted surface. Cracks form around the defect and allows water intrusion below the sealant in direct contact with bare metal. Rust accumulates below the defect and begins protruding from the surface furthering paint cracking. Prolonged rusting will weaken the structural integrity and could pose a safety concern if left unattended. The described defects may not be easily visible on dark colored vehicles.

While driving multiple lights go off on the dash including ABS, traction control, and collision warning. The dash has a message that states system fault see owners manual. If you turn the truck off the system will reset and clear the faults. This does not stop the truck from faulting again in the future.

I am unsure which components, but have had more than 1 issue with this vehicle. First, was the scariest. Iwas backing out of driveway onto the roadway, and the back up alarm went of and brakes locked up as the onward traffic was coming towards me. I was barely able to move in time. There was no cars or pedestrians near the back of truck to even set it off. Still scared to back it up for fear of not being lucky enough the next time it happens. Computer system issue?? While driving, seatbelt alarm goes off 60% of time while I am wearing mine and only one in vehicle. I tried getting video of this issue since it does not happen consistently. The other issue, while driving, all the lights on dash came on and it flashed 2 different messages about the system failure. This truck is 3 months old and I am scared to drive it!! Just want to see if there have been any other people with similar experience in their Nissan.

Vehicle has repeatedly automatically applied the brakes when using cruise control at highway speeds. It happens when going under an underpass that is casting a strong shadow. First time it happened I reported it to Nissan USA. They told me to take it to the dealership. I did and they found nothing wrong. Next time it happened they said they'd have a regional consumer affairs person call me. They did, but in so many words they told me "tough."

This truck was parked in the driveway for at least 24 hours. The battery was dead, so my fiancé got the jumper box out of the truck and popped the hood. After he lifted the hood, he got one of the clamps on the battery when the truck started to roll forward. He couldn’t get out in enough time and was run over. The truck can be inspected upon request. There was a police report and insurance report but no one inspected the vehicle.

We have had multiple occasions when the dashboard read as "System Fault"with multiple warning/indicator lights. 12/12/23, while backing out of a parking space at low speed. 9/12/2024 while at a Red Light, and lightly letting off the brake. 9/13/24 while driving 65 mph . An appt was requested at the dealership of purchase for 9/17/24. An email notification was also received from the truck stating that the ABS System may be malfunctioning. When the alert warning/indicator lights appear, the alert states on the dashboard "Warning" "System Fault" "See Owners Manual" . The system generated email states "Your vehicle's antilock braking system may require service". We only received one notification from the vehicle related to the 9/12/24 alert.On 9/19/24 the dealership could not replicate or find a code related to the ABS System Fault and we were encouraged to bring the vehicle back if it happened again so they could run the code.The dealership would take the vehicle for a longer drive on 9/20/24 to try to replicate the issue. At this point, we filed a complaint with the manufacturer, and have not heard directly from the dealership if they have been able to replicate the warning. The concern for safety is that since the vehicle alerting that the ABS system may be require attention, there may be other electrical issues with the vehicle, along with braking issue concern. There was one occasion on 1/21/2024 with a system error message stating "warning when Parked apply parking brake" the vehicle had just been turned on and put in reverse. There is a large safety concern as this vehicle has had other safety issues including a half latch (where the doors would not open from inside or outside, requiring exiting through alternate door, a parking pawl recall, and transmission issues that we've brought forward in our formal complaint to the manufacturer. Including "Tow" alarm notifications to strengthen the safety concern of electrical issues with this vehicle.

VISIBILITY/WIPER

The rearview mirror has begun to delaminate causing a safety hazard of visibility. I have never once cleaned it with chemicals or touched the glass. I believe it was due to heat and vehicle parked outside over time. Temps do not get hotter than 97 degrees so this is a major concern for areas that receive high temps. Mirror is available for pictures or physical inspection. I will be bringing this to the dealerships attention during next service. The vehicle has 44,000 miles and this has never happened to any vehicle I have owned.

The nut that holds the windshield wiper arm onto the vehicle backed itself off the bolt allowing the wiper arm assembly to pivot the wiper arm over the drivers side A pilar and rest on top of the drivers side rear view mirror where it got stuck, rendering the wiper inoperable This incident happened while driving on the interstate during a moderate rain storm, while traveling approximately 70-75 miles per hour. My own safety and the safety of others was compromised due to the lack of visibility out the front windshield while the wiper arm was not functioning and rain water was collecting on the windshield. Fortunately the at the time of the incident I was approximately 1/4 to 1/2 mile from an exit and was able to get off the interstate and wait at a gas station until conditions improved to the point the wiper was not needed. No waning lights or messages were produced by the vehicle, before or after the wiper malfunction. The vehicle was brought to the Nissan dealership it was purchased from, where they tightened the wiper nut. The dealership did not document this fix, so I contacted Nissan North America and an internal case was opened with them. At time of this report, I am still waiting to hear back from the dealership about taking the vehicle back to them to have it properly inspected and documented.

The interior lights do not come on. We can manually turn on the light switch but it won’t come on when the doors open. We have to wiggle the front switch (middle, ceiling, between the driver and passenger) nor the rear interior light.

Right daytime running lamp failed at approximately 40,000 miles. Dealer has not been contacted other than to get a price for the replacement part. Safety is compromised by vehicle being less noticeable to other drivers. No warning lamps are activated.

I bought my 2022 Nissan Frontier Pro-X on 09/12/2021. Since day 1 it had something loose under the hood and was making cracking sounds. Had to bring it in and they tightened something and then had to do a full re-alignment. And before I even hit 1k miles my aerial / backup camera stop working and I’m now waiting on a whole new camera control assembly unit that is on back order and they claim could take months. Also my AEB sensor is not working and after doing research I see a lot of people have had issues with that too and the vehicles making unexpected AEB lock engagement in the middle of driving on the highway. In addition I’ve also had a 4th issue, the steering seems very off balance and vehicle sways too easily. I feel like this truck has had too many issues for being brand new and not only has been very inconvenient but I also feel it is a safety hazard at this point.

Climbing a hill the cruise control goes crazy and the RPMs suddenly exceed 5000+. Scared the hell out of me and could certainly be dangerous especially on rainy roads. 8/21/2022 While driving on IH 30 eastbound during a heavy rain storm the Adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning system, anti-lock brakes and traction control light came on. The loss of the anti-lock brakes and traction control systems make driving this Nissan truck hazardous as braking distance is now increased during in-climate weather and traction control loss on a truck which is already light in the rear unsafe as any accumulation of water on the roadway will decrease traction increasing likelihood of a spin out of this truck more likely to occur. Adaptive cruise control and lane departure systems may be optical and heavy rains may render them inoperable. This shouldn't effect the anti-lock brakes and traction control systems for this truck. When I Google the symptoms others have posted that this is a common occurence for the 2022 Nissan Frontier SV model.

On 8/26/23, I came upon a red light and stopped. Vehicle immediately would not go into gear, all dash lights and check engine light were flashing, and fan motors were running loudly. Error message said automatic transmission error. The vehicle could not be turned off for approx. 10 minutes. Had to push the vehicle off of the roadway. I was able to restart the vehicle after 2 hours. On 8/28,23, the exact same thing happened and I was stuck in the lane of traffic. All dash lights and check engine light were flashing. Error message said automatic transmission error. Would not go into any gear. The vehicle could not be turned off for approx. 10 minutes. I had the vehicle pulled out of the roadway, then towed to dealership on 8/28/23. The dealership contacted me on 8/29/82 and stated they could not duplicate the error and there was nothing else they could do at that time. My concern is that this happens again in a more dangerous setting.

The truck's computer control system suffered a catastrophic failure after intermittent warning for ABS brakes and Emissions. After this failure the truck was left stranded in the pouring thunderstorm - it wouldn't start, waring lights for just about everything and couldn't be towed as the electronic transmission was locked in park with no manual overrides. Had it occurred on a highway it could have caused serious dangers. After 2+ weeks the dealer hasn't been able to diagnose the problems, repair or return the truck. Complaints have been filed with Nissan Consumer Affairs.

This vehicle has less than 5000 miles. While trying to make a turn the power steering went out. Luckily I was moving at a low rate of speed but fear that someone else may experience this at a high rate of speed and end up with more tragic results. If they do not have the part to fix this vehicle as I am being told then why are they still building them. I am paying insurance on a vehicle that I cannot use. Either fix the vehicle or refund me my money because as it stands now this vehicle is totally worthless.

The road surface was wet, but it was not raining at the time of the failure. The contact attempted to regain control the steering wheel however, the steering wheel became stiff. The vehicle failed to respond while turning. The contact was able to pull over with the vehicle still running. The contact was unaware if any warning lights were illuminated. The contact had driven the vehicle to a local dealer however, the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact stated that the failure occurred four times. The failure was intermittent. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.

When driving, the collision sign randomly comes on. It causes the the vehicle to rev and there's a lag in picking up speed. There are times when the vehicle is "stuck" while waiting on a left turn and it screeches and jolts when I press on the gas to move forward before it actually moves.

The contact indicated that the missing tow hitch created a safety hazard concerning the fuel tank in the event of a collision in the rear of the vehicle. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the issue, but no assistance was offered. I am reporting an issue with the audio head unit/touchscreen system in my truck. The unit consistently malfunctions by producing loud static noise when I increase the volume. In many instances, the radio completely shuts off or freezes, and I have to repeatedly press the on/off knob to get it working again. Sometimes it takes several tries before it functions normally. This problem creates a major distraction while driving, as I have to take my eyes off the road and manually reset the unit multiple times. This can be a safety hazard not only for me but also for others on the road. The issue has persisted despite normal use, and it seems to be a defect in the head unit itself. I took my 2022 Nissan Frontier SV 4x4 in for an oil change and a state inspection. The shop discovered that my left rear axle seal was leaking all over the brakes and rotors. As a result, it failed the inspection, and I had to spend $1,600 to get it repaired. The mechanic mentioned that it's unusual to see this issue on a 2022 model with only 27,000 miles. CRUISE CONTROL SURGING VEHICLE BEYOND INITIAL SET LIMIT. I recently purchased my 2022 Nissan frontier 4x4 crewcab from a Texas dealership. After driving it for a week or so, I noticed that while the "Cruise Control" is engaged, any sort of incline ahead of the vehicle will cause the transmission to down shift and Rev up the engine to 5k+ rpms which causes the vehicle to Surge and speed up way above the set speed (ie: cruise set to 45mph, the consequence is the vehicle will surge up to 60mph at times and then let the vehicle slow back down to the 45mph speed set in the original setting.) I found that very unsafe and that my nissan frontier is not the only one that experiences this behavior. The internet has had a few reports/complaints on this very issue. According to some of these owners, there's a software update to address this issues. However, some dealerships will charge for this software update if your vehicle has gone past the 36k warranty date to the sum of $600 plus out of pocket. The contact owns a 2022 Nissan Frontier. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the driver’s seat independently moved backward and slightly tilted. The vehicle had been taken to the dealer where the contact was informed that there was a failure of the feature to adjust the seat to assist while an occupant was exiting the vehicle had operated erroneously. The dealer informed the contact that there was no way to turn off the feature and to disconnect the electrical wiring harness attached to the seat to prevent the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been made aware of the failure via email; however, the contact had not received a response. The failure mileage was 34,000.

I went to Nissan dealership to check my truck. thy said need new engine. I felt they scammed me nine still fine and drive good. 1. Case #[XXX] filed with Nissan. The vehicle 'ADAS' is unreliable and a safety hazard. Warning indicators illuminate for no apparent reason. Sometimes for a brief period, and sometimes the indicators remain illuminated until the vehicle is turned off. Standard and Adaptive cruise controls will not function. When standard and adaptive cruise control is used the shifting in the vehicle is atrocious. The unit will downshift and the engine RPM displays 5000. Up shifting continues with 4000, 3000, 2000, and finally 1850 RPM respectively and the set cruise speed is obtained. 2. Integrity of the 'ADAS', 'Standard cruise', and 'Adaptive cruise' are unreliable. As an operator the actions of the unit are in consistent and endanger the operator. 3. Two dealers have addressed the 'ADAS' issue. One installed a fix. The second further serviced the unit. Uftring Nissan Service Invoice '[XXX]'. 4. No manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others have inspected the vehicle. 5. Warning lamps, messages, and other symptoms have been present since delivery. I do not know what caused this to happen. There were no warning lights or messages. Prior to this incident the transmission would rev/speed up on its own for a few seconds (I don't know if this is relevant). Salesperson told me about this and said it was nothing to worry about. The vehicle is equipped with a sensor that brakes if you come to close to an object. This sensor has definitely worked in the past. I was backing up down a long driveway, approximately 50 yards.When I took my foot off of the gas pedal, it did not slow down. Instead it sped up and was uncontrollable. I looked down to make sure my foot was on the brake which it was. I then used both feet to push down on the brake but that did not work either. The vehicle did not stop until it ran into a building. If somebody would have been behind me they would have died or been seriously injured. If the building would not have been there, I might have died or been seriously injured due to the vehicle accelerating at a high speed on its own and the brakes failing to stop the vehicle. This incident happened yesterday so it has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or inspected by the manufacturer or insurance. It happened on private property and will not be inspected by the police.

I was out hunting, and positioned the truck on a down hill slope to look down onto a unit I wanted to watch. When I put the truck into park it started rolling forward. Once I hit the bakes it stopped. Then obviously I moved the truck. Because of concern. Also the drivers seat lays back on its own, after use you get back into the truck, you have to activate the button to set the seat back in its previous position.

The vehicle has significant lag when trying trying to accelerate quickly. It also surges wildly on occasion when cruise control is engaged. It has happened both on slight inclines and when cornering. Both of these events are outside of operator control and could cause an accident. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by a dealer and there are no warning indicators. The vehicle is available for inspection. It seems like there may be a programming issue in regards to the electronic throttle, speed sensors, and transmission.

The contact stated that he climbed into the vehicle through the front passenger’s side door to gain entrance to the vehicle and the door unlocked manually from the inside. The contact stated that the doors to the vehicle operated normally. The vehicle was taken to a dealer however, the diagnostic result was unknown. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The failure mileage was 500. The consumer stated that they traded in the vehicle for another newer truck through Nissan. They no longer wish to keep this complaint.

I purchased the vehicle in May of 2022. Since that time, the vehicle has had all safety systems report as failed on at least 11 different occasions. The vehicle will report "System Failure", ABS Failure, Traction Control Failure, Forward & Rear Collision sensor failures. It was reported to me by the dealership that when this happens, the ABS and Traction Control do continue to work, however I have had my brakes lock up and send me sliding down the road as a result of these errors. The errors can occur in any weather or environmental conditions -- They are seemingly random. The dealership has had the vehicle since 5/22/2023 and has not been able to find anything wrong with the vehicle. This is their fifth time attempting to diagnose and correct this issue. It was first reported to the dealership around 1600 miles, and now the vehicle is sitting around 39,000 miles. I have been unable to replicate this issue intentionally. It happens at random.

The truck is giving false data for gas mileage the truck is reading a lot higher gas mileage than I'm actually receiving my truck on average gets 15 miles a gallon but the truck itself States is getting 19 to 20mpg. The truck started receiving poor gas mileage after they did the TCM update to the truck in October 2022. I have an app that tracks my gas mileage and it shows the truck getting a lot less MPG than what the computer on the truck indicates. On average there's about a 4 to 5 mile per gallon deviation from reality versus with the truck indicates. The truck used to get 18 to 20 miles per gallon when I 1st purchased it in May but after the TCM update in October it no longer even gets close to 17 miles a gallon which indicates on the sticker. Full disclosure I drive 95% in the city only. Transmission shifting issues. When I drive the transmission lags has weird shifting characteristics when the transmission is cold I was able to reproduce this on a brand new Nissan frontier that had the TCM update. The truck has a slipping issue of not wanting to go under its own power when driving from a stop sign or stop light the truck acts like it doesn't want to move when you give it fuel. Talking with the service adviser at Nissan Dealership I am not the 1st person to complain about this issue. All the problems that I am discussing happened after the tcm update. I've tried calling Nissan directly and I get nowhere but the run around no one wants to take responsibility for the update issue and I've even had a long conversation with their specialist who took my vehicle out and proving to them that I was getting poor gas mileage and weird shifting characteristics and still they have yet to resolve my issue or offer a solution to my issue.

Driving up a mountain road to a ski resort, my ABS, Traction Control, Forward Collision warning, and rear collision warning lights all turned on at the same time. My ABS and traction control systems turned off, as evidenced by increased sliding around and no ABS present when attempting to stop. I took the vehicle in for an oil change, recall repair, and asked the service managers to look at the safety systems. They informed me that they needed to "order parts" to rectify the issue and they did not have an estimated delivery date for the parts. A week later, I called the service department and was told they needed to order a "rear axle" and that it was backordered with no estimated delivery date. I have filed a complaint with Nissan Consumer affairs.

Dealer preformed NTB22-084 due to ABS lights. Since this TSB was preformed the ICC fails to brake the vehicle when it is approaching another car. Current stored DTC is C1A13-72. When the Frontier needs to brake automatically to maintain distance from the car ahead, the dash gets the following warning messages. Rear Automatic Braking System Fault see owners manual, Automatic Emergency Braking System Fault see owners manual, Cruise Control Malfunction. During this fault the following systems are disabled: Vehicle to vehicle distance control Conventional Cruise Control Automatic Emergency Braking Intelligent Forward Collision Warning Rear Automatic Braking This creates an unsafe driving condition which may lead to a collision.

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer nine times and was diagnosed and determined that the brake switch and master gear shifter needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the RPM’s increased and the vehicle revved up and jolted forward. Additionally, while driving, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The vehicle was taken back to the same local dealer. The manufacturer was contacted by email and phone but failed to respond. This issue has occurred once and vehicle has 8k miles. I was sitting in stop and go rush hour traffic. While driving, all the lights on dash came on and it flashed 2 different messages about the system failure. I pulled off into a gas station parking lot and turned the truck off. I waiting approx 2 minutes and started the engine. The system ran thru all of the checks and the flashing system failure message was gone. It has not come back since. Not sure if it was a fluke thing or not.

On September 16, 2022 My 2022 Nissan Frontier equiped with 997.00 dollar optional rear automatic braking parking assist failed to work. I was backing out of Somerset, KY shopping center position when a adult woman pushing shopping cart passed by behind, I observed her in mirror and stopped before impact. My truck issued no beep or auto braking as vehicle was supposed to do. In the past 6000 miles driven I have observed the failure of AEB/beeping when backing close to tree or other car, and other times it will beep and auto brake when your backing up to a concrete parking curb that is just 5 inch tall designed to put your tire against. I paid extra for this backing assist due wife and I are near 70 yrs old and suffer from stiff necks. I will take in for service and mention this failure. I would warn others this option is waste of money as I don't trust it, I look around and check mirrors as I back.

The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 MPH, the Forward Collision Avoidance system suddenly activated causing the vehicle to abruptly stop although no other vehicles or objects were nearby. Also, while operating the vehicle the collision avoidance system warning message and display continued to erroneously appear on the dashboard. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who cleared the failure codes but was unable to determine the cause of the failure. Also, the contact indicated that the door chimes would not always alarm when needed and the front driver’s side and passenger’s side door latches would malfunction and the doors could not be immediately opened from inside the cabin of the vehicle. In addition, the battery randomly lost power and the vehicle could not be restarted. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 1,000.

I had an accident , last night 08/04/2022 I was parked an upper hill and out of no were my truck blast up w speed and went forward at full speed I couldn’t control it I try braking and the brakes weren’t working my foot was literally all the way forward. The steering wheel got really hard couldn’t control it . Unfortunately I end up crashing and hitting an innocent man performing his job my truck stopped and crushed the poor man into his truck … Not Even the air bags or sensors turn on they failed , it’s like if something took over my truck . I recently purchased this truck about a month ago and some sensors kept coming up out of no were but then they would disappear I don’t know if was an electrical problem. But this car caused a accident .

my new vehicle purchased from a nissan dealer has presented me with the same error twice, the first time they solved it for me but then it continued to fail, however I am writing here because I received a report that vehicles of this model have problems, it seems to me an abuse that is excused in that there are no vehicles to charge a "market adjustment" technically this is an extortion if you want a vehicle there is no more payment, and now I receive a letter from Nissan where my vehicle may present faults and I present it from the beginning and they do not They saw nothing on the computer, so I pay almost $50,000 for a vehicle where they later tell me that it could cause an accident? I get nervous and I don't want to use it but I have to pay the installments or does it damage my credit? What does the departments in charge do in this case? Do we put my life, my family and other people at risk to support these corporations? Is there no insurance or bonds to support these damages? supposedly the only fault they found was a brake sensor that was stuck but after changing it it failed again and also when I'm stopped the vehicle doesn't completely gain stability I always use the emergency brake Apart from the fact that I made the claim at a Nissan dealership and they told me that I should go to where I bought it (absurd and stupid answer), I sent an email to Nissan and they never responded (that is, they are participants and bad service after the sale, a complete scam, what they offer from guarantee at the national level) and they do not leave a record of the claims because everything is on their page.

June 24, 2022 driving the vehicle at average speed 52-54 in highways when i pressed the brake it didnt respond, the automatic emergency braking did not activate or stop the vehicle. The air bag's also didn't were deployed, or engaged. The vehicle stop with the back section of the close vehicle in front. Thanks GOD, NOBODY WAS HURT PHYSICALLY.

1. Drivers power seat back changes position, seemingly by itself overnight. Dealer says it's a known "Engineering Issue." Service personnel said a fix is coming but not sure when. Some people think that those affected are accidentally hitting the power seat switches but I have doubts about that. It's an ongoing problem, on and off, since purchasing vehicle 11-9-21. 2. Cruise control is not smooth at all. The truck may lose two mph then the engine may shift down a bunch of gears and the engine needlessly races too much in getting back to speed. It's the worse cruise control I've ever experienced in my life. I reported this to the dealer and they noted it. Nothing was done to correct the problem which has been ongoing since purchasing vehicle 11-9-21.

On 2 recent occasions the truck's warning lights flashed on the dash and the vehicle applied the brakes for no apparent reason. The first occurance the dealer in Fairfield, Ohio, guessed there may have been debris blocking the camera eye. On the second occurance the dealer in Springdale, Ohio, could find no recalls or reason for the malfunction. Our concern is this malfunction will happen when the vehicle is going 70 MPH on an interstate.

Vehicle is a new 2022 Nissan proX4.purchase date 12/13/21. No issues until February 6 (3100miles). Car was serviced 2/4/22 for initial oil change and all systems were “green light” on routine diagnostic test at time of oil change per dealer. Now various (ABS, engine light, various warning lights) appear while driving and when engine restarted they disappear, only to reappear again intermittently. I suspect an electronic problem or computer malfunction. This is a safety issue due to driver distraction. I have been told by others (facebook group) that they have had similar electronic issues with this 2022 Nissan pro 4 X vehicle that have not been resolved.

The speed control sensor is located in the rear driveshaft passenger side. During a left turn at less than 30-miles and less than 600-miles in the odometer, the speed sensor failed to cause the ABS system, tire pressure, and other sensors to fail as well. The dealer technician determined the rear driveshaft was either damaged at the assembly line or had a defective speed sensor from the factory. There were no other warnings, messages, or symptoms prior to this failure.
