My 2019 Nissan Kicks experienced a sudden and dangerous CVT transmission failure. The vehicle began jerking, struggled to accelerate, and at times would not move forward when pressing the gas. The check engine light came on during these incidents. The car also revs without engaging properly and loses power unexpectedly, creating a serious hazard when merging into traffic or crossing intersections. This appears to be a widespread issue affecting Nissan CVT units. The sudden loss of acceleration and unpredictable behavior create a significant safety risk for myself and other drivers. Nissan has denied goodwill assistance for the repair, even though this failure occurred under normal driving conditions. I am submitting this complaint for safety review due to the potential risk of collision.

Replaced the mass air flow sensor bought from Nissan dealership due to code P0101. After replacement the warning light went off for one day. Now back on. Dealership said it’s an after market part and that they don’t sell after market parts. The part in question was bought FROM THE DEALER. Researching online revealed that this is a common problem. That dealerships are aware of this yet won’t fix. They try to sell the customer unneeded additional services.

Component/System Involved: Infotainment system / radio head unit (including display, CarPlay integration, and volume control) Incident Description: Since purchasing the vehicle in 2020 with approximately 11,000 miles, the infotainment system has malfunctioned in ways that present a significant safety risk. The most severe issue is a random and uncontrollable spike in audio volume, where the system will suddenly jump from a low setting (e.g., volume level 8) to the maximum setting (level 40) without user input. This has occurred during normal driving conditions and once caused me to startle so badly that I momentarily lost control of the vehicle and struck a light pole base while backing out of a parking lot. The car sustained minor paint damage, but the emotional and physical impact was severe, and the event could have led to a serious accident had there been pedestrians or other vehicles nearby. The display system also randomly reboots itself, emits unexplained notification-like pings while driving, and occasionally becomes unresponsive. These issues are intermittent and cannot be reproduced on command, which has made diagnosis difficult. The problem was originally reported to Nissan of Omaha, who failed to order a replacement unit or retain records of the complaint. I later transferred service to Cornhusker Nissan of Norfolk. In 2023, while the vehicle was still under extended warranty (under 70,000 miles), Cornhusker Nissan replicated some symptoms but stated that since no error codes were present, no replacement or repair would be performed. On 6/9/2025, with the vehicle now at 122,000 miles, I brought it in for a Master Warning Light. The dealership retrieved several stored fault codes, most of which were related to the radio head unit, but dismissed them since I hadn’t mentioned audio issues during that visit. I have had a dispute with the Greensboro Nissan. . I had an issue with all of my lights coming on on my dashboard, my car started vibrating and cut off while I was in traffic. I Immediately scheduled a service visit for 5/9 I had the diagnostics checked on my vehicle and was informed it was my mass air flow filter & sensor. I planned to come back the next week to get the repair done and was told that they tried a temporary reset since I didn't plan to do the service that day but it may not last long. I was about 2 miles away from the dealership when my car did the same thing and cut off again. I called to take my car back and they did go out of their way to help me get a rental car while my car was being repaired. I was told that diagnostics were ran again and it was giving the same code for the sensor & filter. I picked up my car 5/13 and was told that the repairs were done. I was told that my car was put on diagnostics again and checked but no other codes came up. On 5/21 my car dashboard lit up and cut off again so I scheduled an appointment for 5/22. This is where it gets interesting, because I was told that My car was put on diagnostics again and the same readings came up again but it was the throttle body. However, this time I was told that the tech that performed the check on my vehicle stated that the reading about the throttle body was there before but he didn't mention it because it was a more expensive repair (so to speak). I asked why wasn't it listed on my paperwork as far as the diagnosis when I came the last time and no other explanation was given. It even stated on my receipt that the MAF sen/circuit were running properly and that no trash was found in them at that time. Now I am stuck worrying if my vehicle is going to stop on me again. I researched it on the internet and apparently I am not the only person this has happened to. Is there a way that I can I get help to resolve this issue and have it investigated? Thank you.

Nissan kicks stalls at red lights so that I have to completely shut down the car open the driver door and restart the engine to get it to move. The engine, oil, and the battery lights all turn on before the engine shuts down and sometimes it is others (as pictured below)that can appear. Car starts to tremble after it happens. Been to check it out and nothing came upon it, still happening several times.

Issues with MAF sensor. All the lights on dashboard illuminated while the car was difficult to accelerate down the driveway. Reader at auto parts centers showed fault with the mass airflow sensor. Sensor and battery have been replaced 3x since getting the vehicle in 2019. Lights on dashboard and reader code shows fault with the MAF sensor again! Car lags when accelerating and doesn’t feel like it has full power. Car has had issues not turning on in parking lot. ALL Dash lights turn on immediately after driving vehicle. Message “malfunction see owner’s manual”.

After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle eventually operated as designed. The contact indicated that the failure had occurred on eight different occasion and each time the vehicle was either driven or towed to the local dealer. Each time the service center was unable to determine the cause of the failure. A Master Technician was sent to the residence to service the vehicle however, the failure continued. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 10,000.

Later that day the contact went to the vehicle and noticed that the turn signal lights were flashing with an abnormal clicking sound. The contact attempted to start the vehicle, but the vehicle would not start. The contact removed and replaced the battery terminals however, the vehicle still failed to start-up. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the mobilizer module was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The diagnostic was catastrophic failure. The option was replace the transmission. The car previously never give me a sing of failure.

When attempting to shift the car out of Park whenever it is parked on an incline, it is difficult to move the shifter out of Park and when it does it klangs/bangs loudly. I have taken the car back to the dealership and they tested and confirmed the problem and said they know about this from others but Nissan has not addressed it and currently there is no service bulletin or fix. They suggested applying the e-brake before shifting into Park when shutting off the engine and then reversing the procedure when restarting. This did not work. I am worried this will damage the transmission and possibly fail to hold the car while parked on a slope. There are no lights or codes active.

Check engine light came on, displaying code P0101, front collision malfunction came on. Replaced MAF sensor for code P0101. The car then displayed the same lights, check engine light and AEB light and slip indicator light. My car then stalled while at a red light.

On[XXX] exactly one week after vehicle was purchased the car began stalling at 55 mph. The slip indicator lights and AEB lights came on the dash and I lost all acceleration. The vehicle became impossible to move I had to shut it off and restart it. The lights went off and I made it home, still with decreased acceleration. I have a [XXX] and do not feel safe with a vehicle that loses acceleration and then won't move on a highway. That's how you get rear ended. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer 4/5/25 and I have not heard back from them. After further research and reading forums of other 2019 Kicks owners this is a recurring issue that desperately needs to be recalled. The radio randomly reboots to Nissan screen. Car has an issue where the automatic emergency braking system (AEB) and the vehicle dynamic control off(VDC) lights simultaneously go on the dashboard. Shortly after the car will stall while idle at red lights. Car will also have trouble going above 2500 rpm when this happens. Causing the car to drive very slow in traffic. Becomes very hard to get to a safe place to park putting myself and passengers in danger. The check engine light for Mass airflow sensor will also go off. When replaced it doesn't fix issue. The check engine light will go off again for (MAS) or intake air temp sensor. Neither can be fixed by replacing these parts. Reading forums many people are having this exact issue with the 2019 Nissan Kicks S. Brought my car to Nissan for issue. They could not figure out the problem in order to fix it. This has been a recurring issue since 2021 with no intention by Nissan to fix it.

SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

While I was driving, my vehicle’s Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) suddenly stopped working. At the same time, the Automatic Emergency Braking / Forward Emergency Braking (AEB/FEB) warning light turned on. While the vehicle was in motion, warning messages appeared on the dashboard, including: “Unavailable: Front Radar Obstruction,” and/or “Forward Driving Aids Temporarily Disabled – Front Sensor Blocked. See Owner’s Manual.” These warnings appeared even though there was no visible obstruction to the front radar sensor. The sudden loss of Intelligent Cruise Control and forward safety features while I was driving reduced my ability to rely on these systems to help maintain a safe following distance. The unexpected warning lights and messages were distracting and created a potential safety risk. This issue occurred during normal driving conditions. I had to take the vehicle in for inspection to determine whether there was a malfunction with the front radar sensor or related safety systems.

While I was driving, I pressed the brake pedal. As soon as I applied the brakes, the vehicle abruptly screeched to a halt in a manner that felt abnormal and uncontrollable. Immediately after this sudden stop, the vehicle lost stability. It slid sideways, causing it to rotate and end up facing in a different direction than the one I had been traveling.

The ABS control Module is working intermittently. Nissan states that they have a problem with this so much that there is a backorder on the item. The replacement cost from the manufacturer is between $1500 and $2000.

The Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and Radar System is faulty which makes the vehicle suddenly brakes on it's own. My daughter reported that the alert light began coming on about a week ago. Then the yesterday (9/26/2021) the vehicle suddenly braked on its own while she was driving. She added that there was no vehicle or object in front of the vehicle at the time of the self-braking. This is a serious safety concern. After research into this matter, I have learned that both Nissan and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration are aware of the situation but have yet to issue a recall for the faulty AEB in a number of their models. On March 14, 2022, my daughter was stationary at a stop light (Warner & Jewel Street). Once the light turned green, she released the brakes and started to accelerate. However, the warning lights came on and the vehicle immediately braked on it's own. The vehicle behind her (Jeep Wangler) did not stop in time and struck her Nissan Kicks causing heavy damage to the rear. Like the other incidents, there were no vehicle or obstacles in front of her to warrant the vehicle to immediately brake. The issue is a serious problem. We have read other reviews with other people having this problem with their Nissan vehicles. I have absolutely no faith in this vehicle and will no longer allow my daughter to operate it. My hope is that Nissan will be forced to research and address the issue. As consumers we deserve safety and to be compensated for this incident.

WHILE EXITING THE FREEWAY/SLOWING TO STOP AT A LIGHT, MY FRONT COLLISION LIGHT CAME ON AND NO ONE WAS AHEAD OF ME. WHILE STILL IN MOTION MY VEHICLES ENGINE SHUT OFF AND I HAD TO PULL THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO REGAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BREAK AT THE LIGHT AND SHIFTED THE CAR FROM DRIVE TO PARK. KEEPING MY FOOT ON THE BREAK STARTED THE ENGINE WITH THE PUSH BUTTON WHICH HAD TROUBLE TURNING OVER AND THE DASH LIT UP THE FOLLOWING LIGHTS: MASTER INDICATOR, SLIP WARNING AND AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BREAKING SYSTEM WARNING. ON THE DIGITAL DISPLAY IT READ SOMETHING TO DO WITH EMISSIONS BUT WENT AWAY BEFORE I COULD TAKE THE PHOTO. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I GAVE GAS TO THE VEHICLE AND IT STRUGGLED TO GAIN SPEED OVER 5 MPH FOR OVER 1000 FEET THEN WENT BACK TO NORMAL SPEEDS AND THE OTHER LIGHTS WENT OFF AND ONLY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON. THE NEXT DAY AS I WAS PULLING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY TO TAKE MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, MY VEHICLE SHUT OFF AGAIN BUT NO DISPLAY THIS TIME, JUST COMPLETELY SHUT OFF.I'VE ALSO HAD ISSUES WITH THE CENTER DISPLAY AND CONTROLS SINCE I PURCHASED A VEHICLE JUST OVER A YEAR AGO. THE RADIO TURNS ON AND OFF ON ITS OWN TURN THE VOLUME UP AND DOWN ON ITS OWN WHICH I CAN SOMETIMES CONTROL FROM THE STEERING WHEEL BUT NEVER FROM THE CENTER. EVEN WHEN USING STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS THE RADIO WILL DO ITS OWN THING. It all started when the electrical system just shut down. Then I had issues with the door locks not working and that electrical system not working. Then the car just stopping - shut off while driving. That was the worst. It just shut off and I could not get it to start again until I let it sit for a few minutes. Spent thousands of dollars on what the Nissan dealers said was wrong, but the issues just kept happening. Now all the lights on the dashboard are lit up, ABS, sensor, tracking, warning. I am attaching a picture for review. After spending so much money on this, I did some research and it seems that this is a continuing issue for Nissan Kicks 2019. Please help, I am tired of spending so much money and not fixing the issue.

During times of weather rain or ice, the AEB system malfunctions. First the slip indicator light comes on. Then a message says that there is a malfunction and to see manual. Next the AEB light will come on. Once both lights are on, the car shudders. Steering is difficult at this point. Next the battery light and oil lights will turn on then the car shuts off while driving. You can no longer hear the engine and acts as if the car was not started. When this occurs I often have to find safety or attempt to “jump start” by shutting the car off completely then turning it back on. The incident repeats itself but will go away after weather is clear. This is a major safety risk specifically while driving and the car shudders then cuts off completely while in drive.

I bought the Nissan Kicks in April 2019, with a 3 year/36,000 mile warranty. At 34,710 miles the ABS system comes on. I took the car to the technician authorized by the manufacturer. He detects a code, C1110-04, and recommends that I replace the ABS controller and actuator. That's over a $4,000 repair for a car that only has 34,710 miles on it. I think the problem is a safety issue since the ABS works with the car's brakes. The technician told me that if it is not fixed, the brake system may not be working properly. Since I bought the car, there has been no sign of the problem. The first time I saw the problem was on Sept 29, 2022.

While driving the car with not weather events, at regular highway speeds the instrument panel began showing a variety of warning symbols The instrument panel contains the following warning lights: Master Warning Light, ABS Warning Light, AEB system warning light, Slip indicator light, and a written Warning panel instructing to see the owner's manual for a malfunction. There is also a front collision icon visible. These lights used to come on and off sporadically but now stay on the entire time the car is turned on. I have read literally hundreds of complaints from Kick's owners stating that their dealerships either: Say that it is a known issue without a solution. Say they have been provided a guide to find the solution. Say they know what needs to be done to correct the problem. In every single instance, when the kicks owner agrees to have repairs/part replacements done, the problem returns. Often, the very next day. The lack of a proven fix for this problem is so wide spread that many people, myself included, are not letting the dealerships make the suggested repairs/ replacements because the cost of allowing what is essentially useless troubleshooting is very high. Typical "solutions" are to change the battery, replace the ABS module, clean or replace the mass air flow sensor, clean front or rear collision sensors, replace throttle body, replace throttle body gasket..... Because this problem is VERY well known in owner, dealer, mechanic, reddit etc forums, affects thousands of vehicles and relates to critical safety components, I believe an investigation, recall is warranted. There is no way to be sure the anti-lock or emergency braking system will work when needed. How is this allowable? For reference, my 2019 Nissan Kicks has fewer than 15,000 miles and has never been in an accident.

My Kicks keeps giving the front collision warning, showing malfunction-see owner's manual, the traction light, front impact light and check engine light come on. Then it is extremely slow to accelerate and often doesn't get over 25 mph. In order to get the car working again, you have to pull over, turn the car off, open the door and close the door, and restart the car. Sometimes you have to unplug some sensor on top of the motor and plug it back in to get the car to work.

The front collision warning light came on and the vehicle would not accelerate. I pulled over, stopped, turned off the car for about 5 minutes. I restarted it and and the front collision still didn't turn off and would not accelerate. In park the rpms did not move when I pressed the gas pedal. I turned the car off again for 5 minutes. I opened the hood and closed it and cleared snow from around the tires. I started it and the front collision light went off but the check engine light stays on now. Since then the car will randomly skip and jerk when accelerated between 25 and 35 mph. I checked with auto zone and they said the code is the ECM. Electronic Control Module. I'm going to have it inspected by a mechanic to confirm the issue.

THIS CAR ONLY HAS 4200 MILES AND HAS BEEN IN SHOP 5 FIVES FOR THE SAME THING AND ALL NISSAN DEALERSHIP DOES IS CLEAR CODE, ADJUST SENSORS AND/OR CALIBRATE SENSORS BUT NEVER CHANGES OUT SENSORS. THERE IS ALREADY SEVERAL CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS WITH NISSAN ON FRONT SENSOR AND THIS MALFUNCTION. THIS IS CLEARLY A HAZARD DRIVING THE CAR AND IS A SAFETY ISSUE TO DRIVE SINCE THIS CAR CAN TRY TO STOP WHEN NOTHING IS IN FRONT OF CAR.

The CVT transmission in my Kicks slips every time I try to accelerate. It will also stall out from time to time, lose power and die. I've had this happen on an interstate before, almost causing a serious wreck. I have taken it to the dealership multiple times and they keep telling me that there is nothing wrong with it mechanically that they can see.

The Motor/engine consumes excess oil creating a burnt smell and a lot of whitesmoke coming out of the muffler. The vehicle is stalling constantly and won’t accelerate properly while driving. Creating an unsafe environment for me and those driving near me. I have repair and install new piece but non of them would fix the problem. I took it to the dealer and they didn’t find the problem. I have heard of a lot of people having the same issue with this model of vehicle.

The first time the errors (front collision, traction control/slippery road) happened, I was driving my 2019 Nissan Kicks on a dry night in October (10/23). I was going down a medium sized hill with my breaks slightly engaged, about to run into my apartment complex. There was no one in front of me. Lights lit up with an error that said 'Malfunction: See Owner's Manual.' When I went to back into my parking place, it was like I was trying to dry with my parking break engaged--the car was fighting me for every inch. Turned the car off, left it over night; came back in the morning, no more errors. Drove normally. On 12/10, I was going down that same hill, almost same conditions--shortly after sunset, dry road, no one in front of me. Drive down the hill, breaks slightly engaged, Front Collison and Traction controls light up, malfunction. Park the car, leave it overnight, get ready to take it to work in the morning, seems okay. On 12/11, I make it about 2 miles and I'm in similar conditions--Pre-dawn darkness, dry road, no one in front of me, going down a hill with the breaks slightly engaged. They all light up again, this time with the check engine light. Take it to the dealership, they say it's a P0101 error and I need to replace the Mass Overflow Filter and the battery. If it did the parking break-like issue from the first time it happened again, I'd be afraid that I couldn't get my car parked and out of traffic if I was in a public place.

Transmission Issue - The CVT transmission slips during acceleration and causes the car to lose power. It hesitates, revs high, and sometimes jerks when slowing or speeding up. This creates unsafe driving conditions. Electrical Issue -The electronics intermittently shut off, screen goes black, and warning lights appear. These issues occur while driving and affect vehicle control. It’s a safety hazard -These failures happen unexpectedly in traffic and increase the risk of an accident. Often the Problems happens occurs several times per week and happens at speeds between 20–45 mph. Started around 60,000 miles. The CVT transmission slips during acceleration and causes the car to lose power. The RPMs surge, the vehicle hesitates, and there is a jerking or shuddering sensation when speeding up or slowing down. This happens unexpectedly and makes it hard to maintain speed in traffic. The electrical system also malfunctions while driving. The dashboard display and infotainment screen intermittently go black, warning lights appear without reason, and some features shut off. These failures happen at random and affect my ability to safely operate the vehicle. Both issues occur multiple times per week at various speeds (20–45 mph), and the vehicle only has 25,531 miles. These defects pose a significant safety risk because they cause unexpected changes in acceleration and visibility of gauges, increasing the chance of an accident.

My 2018 Nissan kicks stalled several times, twice while at a stop light and once while driving. There was no warning or any indicators letting me know that the vehicle stalled. The two times at the light I was only able to notice because I couldn’t get the car to go while pressing the gas. The time I was driving the car suddenly stalled and slowed down and the steering wheel became stiff. I had to place it in neutral and pull over. I took my car to the manufacturer where I bought the car and explained it to them. It stalled in them as well but they couldn’t find a reason for it and told me that it could be my key fob cover and the battery. We changed the battery on 08/07/24 and it just stalled again today at a stop light on 08/08/24. This rules out the key and fob and cover so it must be the something with the transmission or engine. Either way, it becomes unsafe especially while it stalls while driving.

TOWED CAR TO DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED IT, THEY HAD IT FOR 2 DAYS AND COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. Symptoms: *Automatic Emergency Braking (3 occasions) *Slip Indicator (3 occasions) *Check Engine -Code P0101 (Been on 4 weeks so far) Road Condition: *Dry sunny days AEB and Slip Indicator lights randomly came on 3 different times. On the 3rd time, Check Engine light came on together and it's been on ever since. AEB and Slip lights go away after the car is turned off. Having AEB and Slip lights on makes the car drive like it is on the lower gear and the engine shut off at every red light. I started noticing the smell of excess gasoline fume especially when the car is moving but not accelerating, meaning that when my foot is off the gas pedal. Because P0101 indicates MAF sensor malfunction, I replaced with a Hitachi-made MAF sensor. For some strange reason, the car lost battery power so I ended up replacing battery at the same time. Unfortunately, the Check Engine Light is still on.

October 2019, I purchased a 2019 Nissan kicks and had no issues until last December. Took the car to the dealership because it would start jerking randomly when trying to accelerate. I’ve taken my car to the dealership for this issue 6 times and each time I’m told something different. I’ve had my transmission replaced twice within 7 months, new throttle body, mass air flow sensor and my ECM replaced and the jerking is still there but has never triggered the check engine light.

The vehicle constantly shuts off when idle or at times when in motion. The automatic emergency braking (AEB) system warning light turns on as well as the slip indicator. When it finally turns back on after placing it in park and stepping on the brake, the engine barely accelerates. The RPMs drop and then surges to compensate about every 30 seconds. The vehicle has been taken to the dealer on several occasions and Nissan has yet to figure out what the issue is.

My Car ocassionally comes with Code P0101 and P0102 when the check Engine light comes on. And when it does come on, The Traction Light and Head Collision warning lights show as well. These affect how the car drives and I have to stop and shut of the engine for a couple of minutes and then restart the engine. I keep getting the p0101 code for the MAF sensor and I’ve replaced it 2 times with OEM ones and I still get that code later on. I’ve cleaned the throttle body and replaced the air filter with an OEM one and that light with also the “wet road” and “forward collision” light keep popping up. Stalling has also occurred multiple times while in park or at a stop light and rough idle when ever not in movement.

It is hard to explain what specific component put my safety at risk. But my car is suffering from unintended acceleration and unintended deceleration, which I've been told is related to my engine/ABS actuator, but Nissan is doing "further investigation" after holding my car for a month and clearing it for use. When I've been driving on the highway my car will decelerate at rapid speed, even with my entire gas pedal on the floor, and then rapidly accelerate when my foot is not on the gas. My inability to control my vehicle in those instances led to near collisions and instances of me getting my car towed. Nissan finally accepted there was an issue with my car and held it for over a month while they waited for a part to come in. They then returned it to me and said it cleared testing. Within an hour of operating the car the same thing happened again while I was on the highway, and I almost was hit from behind after going from 65 miles an hour to 40 and back up to 50+ without any warning. Then I pulled to the side and all my lights flashed including my engine and steering lights. This is a manufacturer issue that other drivers have experienced and without a recall I worry about other drivers on the road who are not as lucky as me and aren't able to pull to safety while their car is speeding and breaking without their control.

We took our car to McLarty Daniel Nissan for new tire installation and wheel alignment. During checkout, we noticed that the alignment printout shows some of the values were still out of spec (see attached photo) and the red warning note stated that this may result in tire wear, handling and safety problems. The service advisor said those are not adjustable so there is nothing they could do. I reached out to Nissan consumer affairs and they did not take responsibility either and asked me to work with the dealer. The dealer says it is a manufacturing issue and is not willing to do anything. I am so disappointed with both parties and hoping you will help with this issue so we do not have to drive an unsafe car. Thank you.

While driving on a sunny day out of nowhere, no car around me and the car symbol for slippery road, front end collision and see owner’s manual appeared. After stopping at a red light when it was time to turn the car stalled. Although I was pressing the gas the car was barely moving then it “jumped forward” and started driving normally again. I took it to the dealership, they ran a test said the only issue was the battery. Informed them I replaced the battery less than 1 month ago. They said that was the issue so I purchased a new battery from them. 2 weeks later driving home in the rain, the same things happened again. The same symbols and warning. Again I was not in a collision or even near anyone when it came on. I was driving on the highway. When I arrived home I tried to back up into my driveway and the car stalled, although I was pressing the gas the car would not move. I had to turn off the car to be able to finish reversing the car. After researching online it seems to be a wide issue with the Nissan Kicks with the dealership saying do one thing or another but yet the problem persists. I am lucky that the moments it stalled there were no heavy traffic.

A month ago I heard a noise in the right rear suspension area. I brought it in to Nissan for diagnosis. After a few visits they diagnosed that something in the body of the vehicle cracked due to weak metal used in manufacturing and has caused one of the bolts holding up the struts to break off. I had this reviewed by two Nissan certified mechanics and both advised me that this is extremely rare and seeing as this vehicle has never been in any damage or accident, it has to be due to a manufacturing issue. To fix the issue would mean extensive repair and over $6000. I have had a case open with Nissan for three weeks now and they continue to tell me they’re reviewing it, but giving me no indication on when they will take responsibility for the defect in their vehicle. In the meantime I am not confident in the safety of my vehicle and because this was not caused by an accident my insurance won’t pay for a rental car in the meantime. I have attached the quote I got from the Nissan certified mechanic and would like this damage to be put on file in case any other Nissan drivers have had the same issue.

While driving on the hwy, my toddler was able to unclip his chest clip on carseat. I pulled over and obsereved that his chest clip does not securely latch every time that I buckle him in. It unlatches without pressing on the buttons that are supposed to unlatch the clip. It does this by pushing on the backside of the chest clip. Due to the negligence of Pep Boys service department, the wrong size tires were placed on my car. This has led to My warranty for my transmission being denied related to an unauthorized modification(that I was unaware of). This has caused me undue stress, headaches, out-of-pocket expenses, and chest pain. As of now,I have not received a response for replacement tires for my 2019 kicks. Pep Boys technician placed an incorrect-size tire on my car which resulted in a modification that resulted in my warranty not covering my transmission. I am requesting this issue be corrected. 225/50R17 should have been 205/55R17

The contact stated that the steering wheel then became firm. The contact shifted the vehicle into neutral and the vehicle started operating normally. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but no failure was found. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but no assistance was provided. When I am driving my car the collision brake come on and my car will reduce speed and the not accurate. The car would still be started but will not move upon me pushing the acceleration. When I start my car and I’m reversing it will not move upon me accelerating, when I put the car in drive it will jerk and take off really fast. At a red light after coming to a complete stop my car will not accelerate after me pushing the gas, leaving me stuck in traffic in the middle of the street. This is completely unsafe to myself as well as my baby. I am scared to drive my car. I have taken my car in numerous times to the Nissan dealership and it still does the same thing, costing me money.

The contact owns a 2019 Nissan Kicks. The contact stated that while making sharp left and right turns, she heard a grinding sound near the floorboard. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the air flow sensor failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 65-70 MPH, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact was able to restart the vehicle however, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer however, the failure could not be duplicated. The contact stated that she used an OBD scanner and performed a diagnostic test on the vehicle that produced code: P101 (Indicating that the mass air flow sensor was faulty). Additionally, the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, while depressing the brake pedal to stop the vehicle, the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The contact stated that she had to apply added pressure and pump the brake pedal several times to coast the vehicle to a stop. The contact stated that the mitigation braking system failed. The ABS warning light and the Forward Collision Avoidance warning light were intermittently illuminated. Additionally, the air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where it was diagnosed but the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed to take the vehicle back to the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 88,873.

I was driving home from work and was changing lanes when all of the sudden the swerving road,two cars crashing, and check engine light came on. I couldn't accelerate and car lost power. I was in the lane next to the fast lane and cars started honking. I was able to pull over eventually. I waited 10 minutes and started the car and the same thing happened but this time I was stuck in between the HOV lanes and the fast lane. I've never been so terrified before and I don't feel safe driving that car ever again. I took my car to the Nissan dealer on 1/28/23 and they were able to reproduce the problem. I was told it almost left their technicion stranded on the freeway. As of 2/1/23 I still do not have my car and I don't know exactly what the problem is. Prior to this incident the check engine light came on and gave a code for the MAF sensor which I replaced.

I WAS DRIVING MY CAR ON THE FREEWAY APPROXIMATELY GOING 55MPH, THEN I WANTED TO BREAK SLIGHTLY, BUT I WAS UNABLE TOO, BECAUSE MY CAR KEPT ACCELERATING. IT DIDNT WANT TO STOP. LUCKILY THERE WASNT CARS NEXT ME. I MANAGED TO PULL MY EMERGENCY BREAK UP AND SLAM ON MY BREAKS AGAIN. CAR GOT TOWED TO DEALERSHIP THEY SAID THEY COULDNT FIND AN ISSUE. THIS HAPPENED 10/21/22. AND IT HAPPENED TO ME AGAIN 10/29 EXCEPT I WAS OFF THE FREEWAY. SAME PROBLEM MY CAR KEPT ACCELERATING, ITS ALMOST AS IT WAS STUCK. I GOT MY CAR TOWED AGAIN TO DEALERSHIP. I AM CURRENTLY WAITING TO SEE WHAT THEY TELL ME. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED TO ME. I AM NOT A NEW DRIVER AND I BOUGHT MY CAR NEW IN 2019. IT HAPPEN TWICE WITHIN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. The contact stated after driving approximately 5 MPH going uphill to a driveway, she then put the gear into reverse and then into the drive to move forward slowly; however, the vehicle inadvertently accelerated. The contact then attempted to depress the brake pedal; however, the vehicle crashed into the house. The contact stated the rear camera was not operable, in addition to the brakes. The contact stated there was a backup camera recall prior to the accident. There was a front seat passenger in the vehicle as well. The vehicle hit a concrete beam on the house. The garage and house were damaged. The contact was unaware of any warning lights illuminated. There were no air bags deployed. The contact sustained injuries to her knees, elbows, and head. The passenger had minor injuries, but no bleeding. Medical attention was required. No police or fire was not on the scene, and there were no reports filed. The front passenger end of the vehicle was damaged. The vehicle was towed to the local body shop. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,000.

There was no "incident" but I bought a car from a dealership. The salesman didn't let me take it on the road, only around the parking lot ( so I didn't notice the problem). Since I had driven a similar car at another dealership on the road, I didn't think anything of it. (Dumb, I know). When I drove away, I immediately noticed that the speedometer wasn't working. I turned around at the next exit and headed back...less that 30 minutes. Me: "The speedometer isn't working!" Mgr"we have that part on order and will call you when it comes in." Me:"I told (the salesman) I was going out of town Tuesday (this was a Saturday) and I need a working speedometer." Mgr: "You can get out of a ticket that way. If you get pulled over, just tell the cop that your speedometer isn't working and that will get you out of a ticket." Me: "Where is my old car"? Mgr: "I don't know" Me : I want it back. I want my old car back! Mgr: "Once you sign the papers, we don't return cars." When I got back from out of town, I told the finance mgr what was said to me....He said, "did you get stopped?" Me: "no" FM: "Then, there's no problem" Me: "Sending me out without a speedometer is pretty important. Almost like sending me out without brakes" FM: "Oh, it's not that bad."

Car stalls at red lights and the engine turns off with no warning. After, car turns back on and has rough idle and flashes all lights on the dashboard. Went to Nissan dealership and it’s an issue with the mass airflow sensor and throttle body. Coincidentally, the issues arise after the warranty period. Expensive fix and safety issues for city driving.

When car is turned on, and is on idle within 3 minutes it shuts off. When driving around town and stopped at light or slowly driving car will turn off. Engine will shake at times and refuse to go into drive and move as if it were put into neutral. Break lights are beginning to turn while in drive. Especially when turning car on, I have to bring the break clutch up and back down to turn off. however, the light will turn on again and beep while in drive. All the radio does is constantly shut down all the time and reset itself, or completely freeze. Collision light also turns on when stopped in light, or driving. I have to continuously turn the car off and wait until the car is safe to drive. Problems began when I first bought the car in 2019, and has continues until today. Many customers do complain about the same problems they have about the car.

The transmission in this car is a CVT and it pulls very bad and there is times that it smells like rubber is burning under the car people safety is put at risk because it could start a fire under there . And you could be driving in the freeway at a speed of 55 and suddenly the speed slows down to like 25 that it can make you almost get in to accident that's another way that your safety is at risk , there is a lot malfunctions with this transmission and they are aware of it , this should be a recall were they should be replacing these transmissions on these cars

THE FRONT DRIVER'S AIR BAG SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. I AM BEEN DESIGNATED BY MY MOTHER TO ADDRESS THIS AS SHE SUFFERED SEVER INJURIES DUE TO THE FAULTY AI BAG AND MY FARTHER HAS DEMENTIA AND CANNOT PROPERLY REPLAY THE CIRCUMSTANCES. I HAVE LOOKED AT THE MANUAL AND IT WILL NOT TELL THE OWNER ME HOW TO GET THE CRASH LIGHT TO GO OFF. EVEN ONLINE YOU CAN FIND NOTHING ABOUT HOW TO RESET OR TURN OFF THE ALERT. THE OTHER ALERT IS FOR THE ASSISTED BRAKING FEATURE IT DIDN'T WORK BUT THE LIGHT CAME ON BUT WILL NOT GO OFF AND THERE ARE NO INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO RESET IT OR TAKE IT OFF. NOT EVEN THE FACTORY RESET OR UNPLUGGING THE BATTERY WILL MAKE IT GO OFF. I BOUGHT AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AND THE DEALER I PURCHASED THE KICKS FROM SAID THEY WOULD FIX THE ERROR BUT THEY WILL CHARGE ME TO DO SO WHICH I THINK IS WRONG SINCE IT IS NOT WRECKED BUT JUST MALFUNCTIONING. IF I KNEW TO GET SOMETHING ON THE KICKS WAS GOING TO BE LIKE PULLING TEETH II WOULD HAVE STUCK WITH THE ALTIMA AS I DID WITH MY LAST PREVIOUS PURCHASES WITH NISSAN. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE A NISSAN KICKS 2019 AT NAPLES NISSAN IN MAY 2019 AT 5 MILES AND IT STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS IN SEPTEMBER 2019. SWAYING AND SHIMMY FEELINGS, FLOATING ON THE HIGHWAY ESPECIALLY OVER BUMPS AND LANE CHANGES IN THE RAIN ITS WORSE. I TOOK IT TO NAPLES NISSAN TOLD THEM THE PROBLEM THEY SAID THE ROAD WAS UNLEVEL AFTER REQUESTING THE MANAGER THEY PUT IT ON MACHINE AND CLAIM IT NEEDED A WHEEL ALIGNMENT.I GOT THE WHEEL ALIGNMENT SAME SITUATION. HONESTLY I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS A WHEEL ALIGNMENT ISSUE BECAUSE THE STEERING WHEEL WAS NOT OFF BUT WHAT DO I KNOW. ALL I KNEW WAS IT FELT THE SAME WAY SCARY ,UNSAFE AND DANGEROUS.I CONTACTED NISSAN CORPORATE OFFICE AND WAS TOLD TO TAKE TO ANOTHER DEALER WHICH I DID. AFTER TAKING IT TO SURTHERLIN NISSAN THEY CHECK THE VEHICLE AND CLAIM THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG SAID IT WAS THE WIND.THEY HAD MY VEHICLE ALL DAY AND ONLY DROVE THE CAR FOR 6 MILES AND STATED 2 PEOPLE DROVE VEHICLE AND FOUND NO PROBLEMS AND THAT SINCE I HAD A TRUCK WHICH WAS A NISSAN ARMANDA THERES A DIFFERENCE. I DRIVE THIS CAR ONE AND HALF HOURS EVERY DAY, I HAVE NUMEROUS AMOUNT OF CARS NEVER FELT THIS BEFORE. I ALMOST GOT INTO ACCIDENT DUE TO CAR GOING IN ITS ON DIRECTION. I HAD TO TAKE DAYS OFF OF WORK. THE HEADRESTS FOR THIS CAR ARE OUTRAGEOUSLY PAINFUL. THEY ARE ANGLED TOO FAR FORWARD. I CANNOT DRIVE MY NEW CAR WITHOUT SEVERE LOWER NECK/UPPER BACK PAIN. MY BACK CANNOT TOUCH THE SEAT WITH THE CURRENT HEADREST THAT CAME WITH THE NISSAN KICKS. I KNOW THE NHTSA MANDATED IT BUT YOU NEED TO RECONSIDER. I CANNOT SIT IN MY CAR FOR MORE THAN 15 MINUTES.
