My drivers side seat started wobbling and it feels dangerous in case of any kind of crash. The other day I pulled into driveway and heard a pop and the side where the buttons are popped out and I cannot find one of them. The part where the buttons for seat adjustment just fell out and I pushed back but still afraid in case of collision. I have read on plenty of forums where the seat frame breaks. I am older and I cant afford to fix it but I am afraid to drive it

THE LEFT, DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT SEAT OF MY 2006 NISSAN MURANO BROKE WHILE MY SON WAS DRIVING. THE SUPPORT BRACKET CRACKED COMPLETELY, LEAVING THE SEAT TILTED DOWNWARD SEVERAL INCHES ON THE LEFT SIDE. THE CAR IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IN THIS CONDITION BECAUSE THE SEAT IS BOUNCING AT AN ODD ANGLE. I HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE OF THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE NISSAN MURANO. IT IS HARD TO BELIEVE THAT AN NHTSA RECALL HAS NOT BEEN ISSUED.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING, THE DRIVER'S SEAT SUPPORT BRACKET CRACKED AND THE SEAT ROCKED AND WAS UNSTABLE. THE SEAT WAS REPAIRED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE REPAIR LASTED THREE MONTHS BEFORE IT CRACKED AND SNAPPED AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURER RESPONDED TO A LETTER FROM THE CONTACT AND RESPONDED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL; THEREFORE, THEY COULD NOT ASSIST WITH THE REPAIR COSTS. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT REFUSED TO PAY $2,000 FOR THE REPAIRS AND THERE WAS ONLY A 90 DAY WARRANTY ON THE PART, BUT NOT THE LABOR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.

this is the second transmission i have put in this.. these cvt's are complete garbage and nissan is aware of it. Stand behind your product for once and replace this transmission on your dime. Will drive perfect sometimes and then randomly 3k-5k rpms and wont shift. sometimes i can shut it off and restart it and it will work fine again. sometimes it wont and i have to drive around with excessively high rpms. IN RESEARCHING THESE, I FOUND MANY COMPLAINT TRAILS CONCERNING THESE TRANSMISSIONS AND VARIOUS RELATED CODES. NISSAN'S ANSWER IS ALWAYS TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION AT HIGH COSTS TO OWNER. MINE CONTINUES TO RUN BUT IN A KIND OF CRIPPLED MODE CALLED "SAFE MODE" THAT IS AN ATTEMPT TO REDUCE MAJOR TRANSMISSION DAMAGES. CODES OCCURRED DURING DRIVING ON SIDE STREETS UNDER 45 MPH. CURRENTLY HAVE TO REPLACE THE POWER STEERING HOSE. MASSIVE LEAK AND USING A BOTTLE OF POWER STEERING FLUID EVERY COUPLE DAYS. UPON STARTING VEHICLE IN A.M., I HEARD A LOUD WHINE EMANATE FROM ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE SOUND WAS EXACTLY LIKE BRITTLE LEAVES FROM A TREE WERE RUBBING ON THE MOVING BELTS. I TURNED STEERING WHEEL LEFT AND RIGHT AND STEERING SENSATION SEEMED SPORADIC AND IRREGULAR. I OPENED THE HOOD AND CHECKED SERPENTINE BELT AND POWER STEERING BELT. I THOUGHT THE BELTS MAY BE GLAZED OR HAVE LOOSENED OR HAD A FOREIGN OBJECT TOUCHING THEM. ALL LOOKED OKAY BUT THE NOISE REMAINED. THAT AFTERNOON I CALLED MY MECHANIC AND MADE APPT. MY MECHANIC CHECKED VEHICLE , ADDED POWER STEERING FLUID AS HE FOUND THERE WAS A LEAK IN THE POWER STEERING PRESSURE HOSE AND SAID HE WOULD ORDER A NEW UNIT AND INSTALL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I NOTICED POWER STEERING FLUID ON THE GROUND AND NOTICED THAT THE POWER STEERING RESERVOIR WAS LOW. I PUT THE CAR ON JACKSTANDS AND CONFIRMED THAT THE POWER STEERING HIGH PRESSURE LINE WAS LEAKING. SUSPENSION

The rear K-frame of the vehicle is broken near the mounting for the left side of the rear sway bar. This caused the rear tires to wear excessively on the inside edges of both tires, this wear is not easily seen from the outside of the vehicle. It is fortunate that the vehicle had developed an exhaust leak and the tire wear was discovered at this time before anything more catastrophic happened, the tires were worn down to the steel belting on the inside edges had they worn anymore they would have resulted in a blowout and loss of control of the vehicle which could have resulted in a serious accident. There were no warning lights displayed. The incident was reported to the vehicle manufacturer.

The rear K frame member is rotted out causing the wheels to tilt in and seems like it’s ready to come off. I was told it was because there’s two holes in the front of the member causing water to get in and sit inside and rust out the frame.

Rear suspension making "banging" noise when turning. Mechanic states rear suspension cradle badly corroded resulting in passenger side sway bar being disconnected. Sway bar connection pulled away from frame leaving gap in frame. Mechanic states unrepairable due to extensive frame corrosion.

APPARENTLY NISSAN IS KNOWN FOR PROBLEMS WITH THEIR FUEL LEVEL SENSORS, BUT NOT SPECIFICALLY FOR MURANOS' WELL MAYBE IT SHOULD BE, EVEN AFTER I BOUGHT THE NEW PARTS AND HAD THEM INSTALLED WITH A MECHANIC, THEY STILL DO NOT WORK OR FUNCTION PROPERLY.WHEN I FILL UP THE TANK THE LEVEL SENSOR DOESN'T GO PAST A QUARTER OF A TANK NOW, IT DROPS RAPIDLY AND I HAVE EVEN NOW RAN OUT OF GAS WHEN IT SAYS IT HAS GAS IN THERE OR MILES TILL EMPTY. THE DRIVERS SEAT OF MY 2006 NISSAN MURANO CRACKED AT THE WELD IN THE FRAME CAUSING THE SEAT TO DROP AT A STEEP ANGLE IN THE BACK. FORTUNATELY THE INCIDENT OCCURRED WHEN I WAS GETTING IN THE VEHICLE RATHER THAN WHEN I WAS DRIVING AS IT SURELY WOULD HAVE CAUSED A EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND UNDRIVEABLE SITUATION. THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE MANAGER CONCURRED THAT IT WAS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT IN MY VEHICLE, HOWEVER NISSAN WOULD NOT COVER THE COST OF THE REPAIR, NOR THE COST OF REPLACEMENT TRANSPORTATION WHILE THE APPROPRIATE PARTS WERE ORDERED AND INSTALLED WHICH SPANNED SEVERAL DAYS. The VIN was not available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 205,000.

HELLO, I AM WRITING THIS BECAUSE MY 2006 NISSAN MURANO SL AWD HAS SIGNIFICANT RUST DAMAGE BEING ONLY 12 (ALMOST 13) YEARS OLD. I PUT HOURS OF RESEARCH AND HAVE FOUND MY VEHICLE IS NOT ALONE IN THIS. I LIVE IN OHIO AND WE GET ABOUT 1-3 MONTHS OF SNOW AND OUR CITIES SALT A MODERATE AMOUNT. INCIDENT 2: DRIVING DOWN A ROAD GOING 30 MPH UP A HILL MY CAR AGAIN, LOST POWER AND STEERING WHEEL LOCKED WHILE IN MOTION, BRAKES WERE VERY STIFF AND I WAS ALMOST UNABLE TO STOP MY VEHICLE FROM ROLLING DOWN THE HILL BACKWARDS. CHECKED MY CODE READER AND AGAIN, CODE P0335 WAS THE ISSUE AGAIN. REPLACED ANOTHER CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR. INCIDENT 3: WAS STATIONARY AT A BUSY CITY INTERSECTION WHEN MY 2006 NISSAN MURANO AGAIN, LOST POWER AND WOULD NOT START. MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT ON THE LIST OF RECALLS BUT I FEEL AS THOUGH IT NEEDS TO BE. THERE ARE OTHER MAKES/MODELS OF NISSAN THAT WERE RECALLED FOR THIS EXTREME SAFETY ISSUE.

I WENT TO DRIVE MY CAR IN THE MORNING AND IT DIDN'T TURN ON IT HAD BEEN RUNNING FINE THE WHOLE TIME IVE HAD IT. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN 2015 IT HAD 103945 MILES ON IT. IT NOW HAS 118K ON IT AND ONCE THE BATTERY WAS CHARGED WE PROCEEDED TO REPLACE IT. THE NEXT DAY IT STARTED UP GOT ME TO WORK , AS SOON AS I WAS GETTING READY TO LEAVE WORK IT WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. IT TOOK OVER AN HOUR TO JUMP IT AND FINALLY GET IT GOING. AS SOON AS I GOT HOME AND PARKED IT, ONCE AGAIN COMPLETELY DEAD. I HAVE BEEN TOLD IT IS THE ALTERNATOR BY SEVERAL PEOPLE AND HAVE NOT HAD TIME TO GET IT IN TO A SHOP AS I WORK DIFFICULT SHIFTS TO CORRELATE WITH WHAT IS AVAILABLE FOR MOST SHOPS TO PROVIDE. AGAIN, I ROLLED SOMEWHERE SAFE TO PARK AND TURNED THE IGNITION OFF AGAIN, HOWEVER I WAS UNABLE TO START THE VEHICLE AND ALL LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH PANEL. UPON STARTING COLD ENGINE A LOUD TAPPING OR RATTLING SOUND HEARD COMING FROM FRONT OF CAR. SOUND INCREASES WHEN ACCELERATING UNTIL REACHING 40 TO 45 MPH - THEN IT ALMOST DISAPPEARS. ONCE ENGINE IS WARM SOUND IS BARELY NOTICEABLE. IT ALSO TAKES A LOT OF STRENGTH TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL LEFT, EX: WHEN BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY INTO THE STREET, OR WHEN TURNING LEFT INTO A DRIVEWAY OR A PARKING SPACE. IT FEELS LIKE THERE IS NO POWER STEERING. SLIGHT LEFT TURNS ARE NORMAL AS ARE ALL RIGHT TURNS. VEHICLE IS GOING INTO DEALER TUESDAY WHICH IS THEIR FIRST OPENING. I PULLED OFF ON TO THE FIRST SIDE STREET AND GOT OUT TO EXAMINE WHAT HAD HAPPENED. I SAW A HOLE IN THE SUN ROOF ABOUT 6 INCHES X 6 INCHES IN THE CENTER OF THE SUN ROOF. I INITIALLY THOUGHT SOMETHING HAD FALLEN OUT OF THE SKY AND HIT MY CAR, BUT I COULD TELL FROM HOW THE GLASS WAS POINTED UPWARD AROUND THE EDGES OF THE HOLE THAT A FORCE UNDERNEATH THE GLASS HAD SHATTERED IT.

THIS COMPLAINT IS ON THE 2006 NISSAN MURANO, ON 5/29/10 MY GRANDMOTHER AND MYSELF GOT INTO THE VEH WHEN I TURNED THE VEH ON THERE WAS A BURNING SMELL I CHECKED UNDER THE HOOD AND SAW NOTHING I GOT BACK IN AND CHECKED THE DASHBOARD TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANY MAINTENANCE ISSUE AND SAW NOTHING. AS WE WERE GETTING OUT OF THE VEHICLE MY GRANDMOTHER STATED SHE FELT HEAT ON THE AREA OF THE ARMREST. I CAME INSIDE FOR NO MORE THAN 5 MINS AND WHEN I CAME BACK OUT THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE BETWEEN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEATS I IMMEDIATELY CALLED 911 AS A RESULT OF THIS FIRE THE VEH WAS A TOTAL LOSS. I HAVE PICS OF THE AFTERMATH SHOWING THAT THE TRUNK HATCH MELTED AND THAT THE INTERIOR WAS NOTHING BUT THE FRAME. UP UNTIL 5/29/10 THERE WAS NO INDICATION THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG WHEN THERE IS A MAINTENANCE ISSUE A GREEN WRENCH POPS UP ON THE DASHBOARD SCREEN AND THE ONLY TIME THAT POPPED UP WAS WHEN THE TIRE ROTATION MAINTENANCE WAS DUE. THE ONLY MAINTENANCE THAT I HAVE HAD DONE ON THE VEHICLE SINCE PURCHASING ON 11/07/10 WAS AN OIL CHANGE, THE OTHER SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE WAS FOR 4/17/10 FOR A TIRE ROTATION WHICH WAS NOT DONE BECAUSE THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN PUT DOWN FOR AN OIL CHANGE WHICH WAS NOT NEEDED, I HAD SCHEDULED THIS APPT ONLINE AND IT WAS ALSO CONFIRMED ONLINE WHAT I WAS COMING IN TO HAVE DONE. THE MECHANIC DID AN OIL CHANGE AND I EXPLAINED TO HIM I WAS NOT DUE FOR AN OIL CHANGE HE TOLD ME THE 2 TIRES WOULD SOON NEED TO BE REPLACED ON THE VEHICLE THEREFORE THERE WAS NO NEED TO ROTATE AN HE RESET THE MONITOR ON THE VEH. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH THE MGR OF NISSAN PASSPORT TO DISCUSS THE DAMAGES TO THE VEH AND HE SAID I WOULD HAVE TO SPEAK WITH NISSAN ABOUT THE MANUFACTURING. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN MURANO. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS UNDER NHTSA RECALL CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 09V169000 (ENGINE: ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). FOLLOWING REPAIRS, THE VEHICLE STALLED TWICE WHILE DRIVING AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THEY WOULD CONFIRM THAT THE RECALL REPAIR WAS PERFORMED ACCORDINGLY UPON FURTHER INSPECTION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,800 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 40,950.

I HAVE A 2006 NISSAN MURANO. THE ISSUE ORIGINATED WITH THE AIR INTAKE PROBLEM THAT NISSAN RECALLED LAST YEAR. PRIOR TO THE RECALL I HAD TAKEN MY CAR IN BECAUSE OF THE POOR PERFORMANCE AND NEAR ACCIDENTS THAT THE AIR INTAKE ISSUE CAUSED. I HAD TAKEN THE CAR TO TOWN NORTH NISSAN TO HAVE THE ISSUE CHECKED OUT AND THEY SAID THE PROBLEM WAS MY MOTOR MOUNTS WERE DEFECTIVE AND THAT WOULD FIX THE AIR INTAKE ISSUE. I CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE ISSUES WITH THE AIR INTAKE AND FIXING THE MOTOR MOUNTS DID NOT RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM. AFTER THE AIR INTAKE RECALL CAME OUT I TOOK THE CAR IN TO HAVE THE PARTS REPLACED. WHILE PICKING UP MY CAR I SPOKE TO THE SERVICE MANAGER ABOUT MY FRUSTRATION ON HAVING TO REPLACE THE MOTOR MOUNTS WHICH NEVER RESOLVED THE PROBLEM. THE SERVICE MANAGER EXPLAINED THAT THEY WERE AWARE THAT THE MOTOR MOUNTS ON THE MURANO WERE WEAK (NOT JUST MINE BUT ACROSS THE BOARD) AND THEY FELT THAT WOULD RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS CARS IN MY LIFE AND HAVE PUT OVER 100,000 MILES ON SEVERAL OF THE CARS THAT I OWNED AND I HAVE NEVER HAD TO REPLACE THE MOTOR MOUNTS. IF NISSAN KNOWS THAT THE MOTOR MOUNTS ARE WEAK ON THIS CAR THEN WHY HAS THAT PART NOT BEEN RECALLED?

ON A VERY FOGGY MORNING, WAS DOING ABOUT 45 M.P.H.,REALIZED I WAS COMING UP ON A STOP SIGN IN MY 2006 MURANO. I STEPPED ON THE BRAKES, LIKE USUAL AND NOTHING HAPPENED. I SLAMMED ON THE BRAKES, AFTER NORMAL PRESSURE DIDN'T WORK. MY CAR FAILED TO STOP AFTER I PUSHED THE BRAKE PEDAL AS HARD AND FAST AS I COULD. I SLID I THINK THE BRAKES LOCKED. I SKIDDED THROUGH A STOP SIGN, RESULTING IN BEING HIT BY ANOTHER CAR. MY CAR WAS TOTALED. THE OTHER DRIVER'S CAR WAS MOST LIKELY DESTROYED, ALSO. MAYBE, I IMAGINED IT, BUT IT FELT LIKE MY CAR SPED UP, IN ADDITION TO THE BRAKES FAILING. I HAVE WHIPLASH INJURIES AND GOT BADLY BRUISED. I AM LUCKY TO BE ALIVE. TRAVELING AT 35 MPH APPROACHING INTERSECTION WHERE LIGHT HAD TURNED RED. BEGAN DECELERATING AS I APPROACHED THE STOPPED TRAFFIC. GETTING CLOSER, TO THE STOPPED TRAFFIC, I BEGAN TO BRAKE. The rear subframe has been rotting for some time before being discovered. The driver side sway bar link in the rear has broken. joint points are ready to break as well. Tires leaning inwards. The contact stated that the manufacturer has not provided any assistance for this vehicle or for the one they owned previously.

We were driving 35 MPH, and the rear tires started squealing. We pulled over and saw that both rear tires were slanted inward and the left rear was twisted, not going straight. I tried to drive it further and the rear tires would not turn. After going a block, we parked it and got a ride home. The next day, we had it towed to the local Nissan Dealership. They inspected it and told us that the rear subframe had given out, due to rust. Thankfully, we were not going fast, as this situation made the whole rear suspension disconnected from the vehicle. I have called Nissan Customer Affairs, and they just quote what the warranty is on the vehicle. They say they can do absolutely nothing for us. Many Nissan Forums have multiple customers posting a similar problem. Who buys a car, and the frame just gives out? I am extremely disappointed with Nissan's lack of responsibility and customer service. I'd like them to offer some resolution. Ironically, we also own a '13 Nissan Murano. I am very concerned that the same thing could happen to this vehicle in the next few years. If that's the case, I'm going to sell it in a year or two. Please help us out NHTSA. THE REAR SUB FRAME ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE OF MY 06 NISSAN MURANO AWD IS BROKEN AND IT'S CRACKED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD YOU CAN FEEL THE REAR SWAYING BACK AND FORTH. IT'S ALSO CAUSED MY TIRES TO FLARE OUT AND WEAR ON THE INSIDE EDGE OF THE TIRES.

THE VEHICLE HAS A SUBFRAME THAT HAS ROTTED FROM THE INSIDE OUT. AFTER DOING RESEARCH ONLINE, THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH MOST MURANO'S PRODUCED BETWEEN THE YEARS 2004 AND 2007 WITH AROUND 120,000 MILES. THE RESULT OF THIS IS LOSS OF STABILITY ON THE ROAD WHILE MOVING, AND THE POTENTIAL FOR THE REAR SUSPENSION TO COME OFF OF THE VEHICLE. THIS ALSO CAUSES THE CAR TO NOT PASS PENNSYLVANIA STATE INSPECTION REGULATIONS. AGAIN, BECAUSE THIS ISSUE IS CAUSED FROM THE METAL OF THE SUBFRAME CORRODING FROM THE INSIDE OUT, IT IS A MANUFACTURER'S FAULT, NO THE DRIVER/OWNERS'S. AND BECAUSE THE MAJORITY OF THIS MAKE OF CAR IN THESE SELECT YEARS, SHOWS COINCIDENCE IS NOT TO BLAME.

WHILE ON A THREE HOUR ROAD TRIP, MY 11 YEAR OLD SON WAS RIDING IN THE BACK SEAT (BEHIND) DRIVER OF MY RECENTLY PURCHASED 2006 NISSAN MURANO. HE WAS PLAYING WITH THE MIDDLE SEAT BELT WHICH RETRACTS FROM THE CEILING AND SOMEHOW WRAPPED THE SEAT BELT AND KNOTTED AROUND HIS NECK. MY 19 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS IN THE BACK ALSO AND TRIED TO UNSUCCESSFULLY LOOSEN THE SEAT BELT. WE PULLED OVER ON THE HIGHWAY, MY SON STARTED TO PANIC AND EACH TIME HE MOVED THE SEAT BELT GOT TIGHTER AND TIGHTER. ME AND MY FIANCE TRIED TO GET THE SEAT BELT OFF OR AT LEAST LOOSEN. 2006 NISSAN MURANO DRIVERS SEAT AND SUN VISOR. MY 2006 NISSAN MURANO HAS HAD TWO PARTS FAIL THAT I BELIEVE ARE A SAFETY CONCERN AND WARRANT A RECALL. THE 1ST PART IS THE DRIVERS SEAT. My car horn recently stopped working when depressing the areas on the steering column with the horn icon. I almost got into multiple accidents, first when driving on the interstate and could not honk on aggressive drivers who sharply pulled in front of me when driving; and later when trying to park in a parking lot and another driver reversed into me because he could not see me and I could not honk to signal him that I was in his blindspot. I checked with my mechanic of 23 years and he found that there was no issue with the fuse or the horn itself - the horn activates when manually triggered. However, there is a problem with the relay from the steering column to the horn and with this Nissan model, that relay is integrated with the air bag in the steering column. It's possible that there's also an issue with the airbag but it's never had reason to deploy. Lodging this incident because the horn is a central part of any car safety system and there seems to be a manufacturer defect in the relay that is integrated into the steering column to trigger the horn.

I OWN A 2006 NISSAN MURANO AND IN THE FALL OF 2009, STARTED EXPERIENCING AN ISSUE WITH MY SUNVISOR. I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS ISSUE IS NOT JUST MINE, BUT MANY OTHER OWNERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. WHILE DRIVING, THE SUNVISOR RANDOMLY FALLS DOWN, SOMETIMES HITTING ME (OR MY FAMILY) IN THE HEAD. IT IS CLEARLY A SAFETY ISSUE. IT ALWAYS OCCURS ON ROUGH ROAD SURFACES BUT ALSO HAPPENS ON SMOOTH HIGHWAYS, AND AT RANDOM TIMES, OFTEN STARTLING ME OR WHOEVER IS DRIVING MY CAR. WE HAVE PURCHASED & REPLACED THE CLIPS THAT HOLDS THE VISOR BUT THAT IS NOT THE PROBLEM. THE VISOR JUST DOES NOT LOCK IN THE "UP" POSITION. PAID $500 TO GET THE WHEEL BEARING REPAIRED ON THE CAR. Broken rear K Frame/Sub Frame. Vehicle veered into oncoming traffic and left the roadway after fishtailing in the rain. Towed to repair shop. Inspection of the rear suspension shows multiple premature catastrophic failures of the rear K Frame and or Sub Frame structure. Stabilization bar is completely broken from it's mount. Rear K Frame/Sub Frame is prematurely corroded and completely broken in half.

ON 12/8/2010 CONTACTED NISSAN DEALERSHIP, WRIGHT AUTOMOTIVE - WEXFORD, PA, AND SERVICE AGENT ADVISED THE EARLIEST THEY COULD SEE THE VEHICLE WAS12/13/2010 AND THAT THE AIRBAG WOULD NOT DEPLOY WHILE THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS FLASHING. UPON TAKING VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP SERVICE AGENT ADVISED HE HAS NOT SEEN THIS ISSUE IN THE 2 YEARS HE'S BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP AND ADVISED THERE IS NO RECALL OR KNOWN TSB. SERVICE ORDER INDICATED A CODE OF B1054 WHICH MEANS 'DRIVERS SIDE AIR BAG OPEN'. THUS, THEY RECOMMENDED 'REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE' FOR A TOTAL COST OF $371.88. I PAID $69.95 DIAGNOSTIC FEE, $197 SPIRAL CABLE, AND $18.69 TAX AND PENDING PAYMENT OF $104.93 LABOR COST TO REPLACE PART. UPON RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE ON THE WEB THE FOLLOWING WAS UNCOVERED: SEVERAL MURANO OWNERS, CROSSING MODEL YEARS, HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE AND TWO SUGGESTED SOLUTIONS. THE FIRST SOLUTION STATES TO PERFORM A RESET BY TURNING THE VEHICLE FROM 'OFF' TO 'ON' THREE TIMES WHILE COUNTING TO 5 DURING THE 'OFF' TIME. THIS SOLUTION WORKED FOR SEVERAL OWNERS. THE SECOND SOLUTION IDENTIFIED BY ONE OWNER SAID REPLACEMENT OF THE 'SEAT BELT PRE TENSIONER', WHICH WAS SUPPOSEDLY COVERED UNDER A RECALL FOR A 2005 MURANO, SOLVED THE IDENTIFIED ISSUE. UPON DISCUSSING THE 'RESET' WITH NISSAN SERVICE AGENT, HE SUGGESTED EITHER RETURN SPECIAL ORDER PART AND PAY RESTOCKING FEE OR KEEP THE PART SINCE HE BELIEVES THE LIGHT WILL BEGIN FLASHING AGAIN. I HAD MY VEHICLE TOWED TO A LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP TO GET A KEY MADE FOR IT, SINCE I HAD LOST THE KEY. THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION UP TO DATE. AFTER GETTING A KEY MADE BY THE DEALERSHIP, THE KEY WILL NOT TURN IN THE IGNITION FOR IT IS LOCKED. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT I NOW NEED TO PURCHASE A STEERING LOCK TO GET IT FIXED. MY POWER STEERING PUMP HAS MALFUNCTIONED AND THE HOSE HAS A HOLE IN IT. THE LEAK HAS CAUSE A BELT TO POP WHILE I WAS DRIVING. SITTING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, I HEARD A LOUD POP. I COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING JUST SITTING THERE. ABOUT 20 MINUTES LATER, MAKING A TURN FROM A STOP SIGN, AS THE TIRES HIT THE DRAINAGE RUT IN THE ROAD, I FELT LIKE I WAS BEING THROWN FROM MY SEAT. THE LOUD POP WAS THE SHEARING OF A METAL STRUCTURAL COMPONENT ON THE SEAT TRACK UNDER THE DRIVER'S SEAT. drivers seat is not sitting right almost seems like it came unhinged. driving on a short distance Trip I noticed that every time I needed to turn and it the road was windy I could smell fuel and it seems like I was loosing gas as I was driving like it was punchard or spilling some how.. I'm no mechanic but as a pregnant woman I was absolutely nauseous from going only an hour away. also it seemed like I would periodically loose power and at one point actually had to pull over and let the vehicle air out and cool down. seems like the was a situation with the coolant as well had to replace the cap and it looks as though that had been a issue with the previous owner as well.

I was driving from a funeral on Saturday July, 30th. 2022. The Car Has Been Fine, & Shown No Leading Hints Of Error. I Did Have A Spare Tire On In Which It Had No Problems Either. After The Funeral I Was Notified My Tire Was Ready, So I Headed Over To Get It Changed. After About 10/15 Mins Of Driving (Taking My Daughter To Work) The Car Started To Pull, & Make A Screeching/Loud Noise. At First I Thought Maybe It Was The Brake Pads, Or Tire Rubbing. After Calling My Dad (A Mechanic), & Talking With Others. Searching Online As Well. It Was Said To Be The Transmission. Few Moments Went By Then It Was The Transfer Case, Axel, Then Finally An Electrical Issue. My All Wheel Drive Light Constantly Flashes. I Have No Control Over The Off/On Module. Anything Over 5MPH It’s Does The Noise, & Tries To Pull The Car To The Left. It Gets Louder, & More Strong As I Accelerate. Normal driving and the seat broke and has been for several years causing instability and oscillation. Recently my steering wheel will not align, brought it to a mechanic that informed me the rear sub-frame is cracked on both sides causing the tires to malign, creating un-even wear on the back tires and a hazard to drive.

I JUST PURCHASED MY 2006 NISSAN MURANO STILL MAKING PAYMENTS AND I NOTICED WHEN I AM DRIVING IT FEELS LIKE THE BACK IS RIDING ON ICE. THE MECHANIC ASKED IF THEY WERE PAYING FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC AND I THOUGHT THATS WHAT THE WARRANTY WAS FOR BUT WAS TOLD THE WARRANTY ONLY COVERS THE TRANNY AND ENGINE. SO THEY SAID THEY WOULD GET AHOLD OF THE OWNER AND ASK HIM IF THEY CAN PAY FOR IT THAT WAS 4 OR 5 DAYS AGO AND STILL NO WORD BACK. FUEL GAUGE STARTED TO FAILED AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND QUOTED FOR REPLACE THE TWO FAILING FUEL SENDING UNITS $100 TO INSPECT + $700/$800 PART & LABOR. OF COURSE IS NOT COVERED BY NISSAN. HOW MANY OTHER BRANDS BESIDE NISSAN HAVE YOU SEEN WITH THIS PROBLEM? I AM SIMPLY APPALLED BY THE LACK OF CONCERN FROM NISSAN. AFTER READING COMPLAINTS ABOUT AIR BAG WARNING LIGHTS, DRIVERS SEAT COLLAPSING, VISORS FALLING BLOCKING THE VIEW OF THE DRIVER, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON DUE TO FUEL GAUGE FAILURE, WIPER MOTOR/TRANSMISSION GOING OUT. MY NISSAN MURANO HAS ALL THESE PROBLEMS AND MORE. I CANNOT BELIEVE NISSAN DOES NOT IDENTIFY THIS AS A SAFETY ISSUES AND ALLOWS THE CONSUMER TO PAY FOR THESE FAULTY COMPONENTS. THE FACT THAT NISSAN DOES NOT STAND UP BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS IS AN INSULT TO EVERYONE WHO BOUGHT THIS PRODUCT. NISSAN OFFERS NO ASSISTANCE DESPITE THE CLEAR PREMATURE FAILURE OF THE COMPONENTS. BOUGHT THE CAR, USED IN 2009. FOR AT LEAST TWO YEARS CHARGERS IN CAR DID NOT WORK. WITHIN LAST SIX MONTHS FUEL GAUGE BECAME INACCURATE. THERE WAS ANOTHER INCIDENT WHERE THE CAR JUST STOPPED, WILL LOOK FOR DETAILS. BUT 9/24/13 DRIVING UP A HILL, CAR CAME OUT OF GEAR AND STOPPED WORKING. THE PART THAT WAS ULTIMATELY REPLACED WAS THE INSTRUMENT PANEL-PART NUMBER 24820-CC20A. APPARENTLY, PANEL WAS NOT COMMUNICATING WITH TRANSMISSION PROPERLY. DEALER CHARGED US $1150 TO REPLACE. NEITHER SERVICE MANAGER OR SERVICE COORDINATOR HAS SEEN ONE WHICH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. NISSAN ACCEPTS NO RESPONSIBILITY. FAULTY FUEL GAUGE, FUEL FLOAT OR FUEL MONITORING SYSTEM. I FILLED UP THE CAR AND THE GAUGE READS EMPTY. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SEAT DETACHED FROM THE RAIL. ALSO, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE CONTROL ARMS AND MOTOR MOUNTS WERE REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THAT THE SEAT ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I PURCHASED A 2006 NISSAN MURANO BRAND NEW. AFTER DOING A LITTLE RESEARCH, I UNDERSTAND THAT MY COMPLIANT HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED NUMEROUS TIMES, BY MANY CONSUMERS AND THAT AN INVESTIGATION BY NHTSA HAS BEEN COMPLETED AND CLOSED. WITH THAT SAID, A NEW INVESTIGATION INTO THE MATTERS NEEDS TO OCCUR AND NISSAN NEEDS TO ISSUE A RECALL. THE VISOR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE CONTINUES TO FLOP DOWN, CAUSING LIMITED VISIBILITY WHEN DRIVING. THIS IMPAIRS VISIBILITY WHEN DRIVING, WHICH IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN AND ALTHOUGH IT SEEMS THAT THE DEFECT HASN'T RESULTED IN A CASUALTY YET, IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED FROM THIS DEFECT. NEXT, THE SEAT ANCHOR BRACKET/FRAME ON MY DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT IS BROKEN AND HAS CAUSED THE SEAT TO LEAN TO THE LEFT CONSIDERABLY. I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE DRIVERS SIDE SUN VISOR IN MY NISSAN MURANO. IT WILL JUST DROP DOWN SUDDENLY. AT FIRST I WAS ABLE TO PULL THE VISOR DOWN AND MOVE IT FORWARD TO HELP PROTECT MY EYES FROM THE SUN. BUT THAT DIDN'T LAST LONG SINCE IT WILL JUST FALL STRAIGHT DOWN AND BLOCK MY VIEW. WHEN IT FALLS I CAN NOT SEE THE CARS IN FRONT OF ME. I AM NOT A TALL PERSON BUT I WOULD HAVE TO BE EXTREMELY SMALL TO SEE UNDER THE VISOR WHEN IT FALLS IN STRAIGHT DOWN POSITION. A FEW DAYS BEFORE AUG 31ST THE MURANO STARTED SLIPPING GEARS. IT WAS TAKEN TO A DEALERSHIP ON AUG 31ST WHERE THE ERROR CODE, STEPPER CODE, CAME UP WHICH IS PART OF THE CVT, THE TRANSMISSION. THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION, UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY AND THIS DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY REPLACED THE VALVE BODY AGAIN, THE CONTROL MODULE, AND THE WIRE HARNESS, NONE OF WHICH HAS FIXED THE PROBLEM. WE ARE 10 WEEKS IN THE SHOP AND THEY CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM. A NISSAN ENGINEER IS NOW COMING OUT TO LOOK AT IT WANTING TO REPLACE THE VALVE BODY FOR THE THIRD TIME. THEY HAVE REPLACED THIS NOW GOING ON THREE TIMES WITH NEW PARTS AND IT IS NOT FIXING THE PROBLEM. THIS CAR IS NOT A SAFE CAR TO DRIVE ANYMORE. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME LAST WEEK THAT WE WOULD HAVE RESOLUTION, WHETHER THIS WAS A BUYBACK OR WHATEVER BY LAST FRIDAY. THEN MY VEHICLE BEGAN TO DRIVE ON ITS OWN LUCKY FOR ME THE TRAFFIC IN FRONT OF ME BEGAN TO MOVE. THE VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY WHILE I TRIED TO MOVE OVER TO THE EMERGENCY LANE. I PLACE THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND THEN IN DRIVE. WHEN I PRESSED ON THE GAS PEDAL IT WOULD NOT MOVE ONCE AGAIN EVEN WHEN PRESSING THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR. I TRIED TO MOVE THE VEHICLE WHILE IN THE LOWER GEAR AND SECOND GEAR JUST TO GET OUT THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY AND IT STILL WOULD NOT MOVE. THEN OUT OF KNOW WHERE IT BEGAN TO DRIVE ON ITS OWN AGAIN WITHOUT ME PRESSING ON THE GAS PEDAL. THAT ALLOWED ME TO MAKE IT OVER TO THE EMERGENCY LANE. AGAIN LUCKY FOR ME I WAS ABLE TO MAKE MY WAY THROUGH THE STAND STILL TRAFFIC. ONCE IN THE EMERGENCY LANE THE VEHICLE STOPPED. I PUT IT IN PARK THEN PRESSED ON THE GAS PEDAL AND THE ENGINE WOULD REV UP. THEN I THOUGHT OK IT WILL MOVE NOW, BUT THEN THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO DRIVE ITSELF IN REVERSE WHILE IN THE DRIVE POSITION. I CALLED MY MOTOR CLUB AND HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT TWO OF MY TRANSMISSION HOSES BLEW AND THE VEHICLE LOST ALL ITS FLUID AND IT WOULD COST ME $711 TO FIX THIS PROBLEM NOT INCLUDING ANY DAMAGE TO THE TRANSMISSION. NOW THE DEALERSHIP IS TRYING TO SAY THAT I HAVE A LEAK AT MY ENGINE RUBBER O RING. AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT MY VEHICLE HAS 82K MILES. ALTHOUGH I HAVE QUITE A FEW MILES ON MY VEHICLE I HAVE MAINTAINED ALL OF MY REQUIRED MAINTENANCE AS SCHEDULED. SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE ABOUT THE VEHICLE STALLING AND DRIVING ON ITS OWN.
