The brake pedal suddenly feels spongey out of nowhere. The car stops when the pedal hits the floorboard of the car. This has happened to me a couple of times now ever since I had my car. I have took it to my local pep boys but all they did was replace my brake pads. It fixes the problem for a couple months but it ends up happen again. There are no warning lights showing up for my ABS or any of the braking system.

My car’s ABS failed to turn on even when braking from a far enough distance in the snow and caused me to rear end a car at 5 mph. I was holding down the brakes from 20 cars away and it felt like my brakes were unresponsive and all the way to the floor as my car continued sliding. Nissan’s voluntary recall was performed of flushing out the brake fluid and replacing it with the DOT 4 and it still failed as a working remedy for its defective ABS from what I have read from other owners. I love my car but might have to sell due to feeling unsafe driving in the snow. Please fix this Nissan before another accident occurs due to your defective ABS.

WHILE DRIVING UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS, 35-50 MPH, DRY, GOOD, SMOOTH, STRAIGHT ROAD CONDITIONS, I APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE PEDAL WENT ALMOST TO THE FLOOR BEFORE THE BRAKES STARTED BEING APPLIED. I HAVE SINCE LEARNED OF A RECALL FOR PRIOR MODEL YEARS (18V916000) AND SUBSEQUENT MODEL YEARS OF MY VEHICLE DUE TO ABS PROBLEMS. PART OF THE FIX IS TO REPLACE THE DOT3 FACTORY-SPECIFIED BRAKE FLUID SPECIFIED FOR MY VEHICLE WITH DOT4 BRAKE FLUID DUE TO CORROSION OF BRAKE SYSTEM COMPONENTS. I HAVE DETERMINED THAT IT IS IN FACT AN ABS PROBLEM, AS I CAN NOW SKID THE TIRES DURING HEAVY BRAKING, AND THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKE PUMP DOES NOT ACTIVATE. THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELS ABOUT 75 PERCENT OF THE DISTANCE TO THE FLOOR BEFORE ANY BRAKING OF THE VEHICLE OCCURS.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HER HUSBAND WAS DRIVING AND ATTEMPTING TO SLOW DOWN, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND FAILED TO SLOW THE VEHICLE. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS PUMPED SEVERAL TIMES AND THE BRAKES OPERATED AS DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN BACK TO THE RESIDENCE WITHOUT FURTHER FAILURES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT AND WITHOUT WARNING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND WAS REFERRED TO FIVE STAR NISSAN (839 WARREN DR, WARNER ROBINS, GA 31088, (478) 287-4510) FOR FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,000.

WHEN I AM DRIVING AND PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP THE VEHICLE, THE BRAKE PEDAL GOES SOFT AND DOWN TO THE FLOORBOARD. I HAVE TO PUMP THE BRAKE IN ORDER FOR THE CAR TO STOP. THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN ALL OF THE TIME, BUT IT IS HAPPENING AT LEAST ONCE A DAY.IT HAS HAPPENED WHEN I AM DRIVING ON A CITY STREET OR WHEN I AM ON THE FREEWAY.I HAVE HAD TO SWERVE AND DRIVE OFF THE ROAD IN ORDER TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO TWO DEALERSHIPS, THEY CHECK THE CAR AND CAN'T REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND SAY NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE BRAKES. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR. I DID SOME RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND THAT THE 2009 NISSAN MURANO HAS HAD A RECALL (NHTSA CAMPAIGN 18V916000) WITH THE IDENTICAL SYMPTOMS MY VEHICLES IS EXHIBITING. THE PROBLEM IS THE ABS ACTUATOR. MY CAR WAS MANUFACTURED IN 2009 WITH THE DEFAULT PARTS, YET IT WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. THIS FAULTY BRAKE SYSTEM CAN BE FATAL IF NOT ADDRESSED. THE COST OF THE REPAIRS IS IN EXCESS OF $2,000 AND NISSAN SHOULD PAY FOR THE REPAIR FOR THE FAULTY ABS ACTUATOR. I NOW HAVE A CAR PARKED IN THE GARAGE BECAUSE I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR AND HAVE TO WAIT TO SAVE UP TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED.

The transmission is failing and I recently found out there had been a recall on the CVT transmission and I would like to get it fixed by the company.

My 2010 Nissan Murano incurred transmission and transfer case failure @ around approximately 95,000 miles despite keeping up with the required maintenance. This was in a form of erratic jerking, overheating, and decreased pick up speeds. However, the vehicle did not have any service lights indicating further issues on the dash. I then went to 2 Nissan service centers to request that Nissan fix their faulty parts on 11/11/22 and 12/02/22. Both Service Centers acknowledge faulty parts by Nissan, but refused stating that my car is not under warranty and therefore, Nissan would not cover the cost. Nissan has had multiple class action law suits regarding their production of these parts and yet is evading responsibility. Since then, my car has sat in my driveway undriveable as Nissan continues to avoid rectifying the situation. I now owe the bank almost $3,000 for a car I can no longer drive and bank will not settle out the debt to the worth of the car. I now have to consider a voluntary repo which will ultimately negatively affect my credit and force me into a hardship. I cannot utilize this vehicle to go back and forth to work.

When stepping on the gas after stopping at a stop light or similar situation, the car acts like it's stalling for 2 - 3 seconds before finally going forward. It's intermittent. I've been told by the Nissan dealership that when they did the diagnostic check, that the error code P0868 came up long enough to be caught for the report but did not stop at that error code. This error code says it's "Fluid pressure low". My Nissan advisor said that it is not a hard failure because it did not stop at this error. However, they do recommend that the transmission be replaced. I have been reading a lot online about other Murano owners having this similar issue or an issue with their transmission. I had it at the dealership twice before this last result I mentioned above.

MY VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY LOSES POWER WHEN GOING UPHILL OR ACCELERATING. FOR EXAMPLE, TWO DAYS AGO I WAS DRIVING UP STEEP HILLS IN THE TN MOUNTAINS AT LESS THAN 20 MPH. WHILE ACCELERATING THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. I SMASHED THE ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOOR AND NOTHING HAPPENED. I STOPPED THE VEHICLE AND PUT IT INTO PARK, AND THEN BACK TO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO ACCELERATE AS NORMAL. SOMETIMES THIS SAME ISSUE HAPPENS WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP.

The contact owns a 2010 Nissan Murano. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the contact noticed an electrical burning odor and there was white smoke coming out of the hood. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and turned off the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to restart and was jumpstarted with the assistance of the contact's brother. The vehicle was taken to AutoZone, where the battery was replaced. The contact stated upon driving from a complete stop, the vehicle went into Safety Mode and failed to exceed 2 MPH. The ABS and battery warning lights were illuminated. The contact was able to pull into a parking lot and turn off the vehicle. The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to the residence of the contact's mother. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced complete battery drainage within 18 hours of replacing the battery. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in an unknown alternator recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 57,000.

After multiple repairs the brake light and battery light continue to come on. My vehicle turned off while driving. I believe it's a faulty voltage regulator for the alternator. This seems to be a common issue for my type vehicle.

MY CAR STALLED ON ME WHEN IN MOTION AND WONT GO PAST 7MPH, AND EVENTUALLY LOSE POWER AND DRAIN MY BATTERY. I TOOK IT FOR REPAIR BOUGHT A NEW ALTERNATOR,REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR IT STILL DRAIN AND DAMAGE THE BATTERY. I HAVE TO GO BUY ANOTHER BATTERY, A BRAND NEW BATTERY AND IN NO TIME DRAINED THE BATTERY AGAIN. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS RUNNING REGARDLESS IF ANYTHING IS TURNED ON OR NOT.

I HAVE A 2010 MURANO AND FOR THE SECOND TIME IN 3 YEARS MY BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR HAVE TO BE REPLACED. SOUNDS IDENTICAL TO THE RECALL ON THE 2005. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS TWICE IN 3 YEARS. NISSAN RECALL THIS!

While driving 70+ mph on a federal highway at night, I heard a loud explosion noise followed by glass raining into my vehicle cabin. (The shade was open.) We quickly closed the shade which caused a few more shards of glass to fall into the car. The noise caused by air vibrating the sunroof shade was nearly deafening but we were two hours drive away from home and decided to continue driving praying that no one would toss a cigarette butt or anything similar out of their car where it might land on our now-exposed roof. It wasn’t until we were able to exit to a gas station that we could see the extent of the damage and take photos.

DASHBOARD IS SPLITTING IN 6 PLACES ACROSS THE ENTIRE SURFACE AND IS VERY STICKY AND PLIABLE WITH A RESIDUE LEACHING OUT FROM THE MATERIAL WHICH IS WET AND SHINNY. EVERYTHING STICKS AND IT PUTS A GLARE ON THE WINDSHIELD OBSTRUCTING YOUR VISION AT TIMES. VEHICLE HAS 105,738 MILES AND IS GARAGED. MY RESEARCH HAS FOUND THAT NISSAN IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM WHEN NISSAN MURANOS REACH 10 YEARS OLD AND HAVE DONE NOTHING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. TOYOTA HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND ISSUED A RECALL TO REPLACE THE DASH.

The rear subframe suspension has rotted out due to rust prematurely. Only has 84k miles ;brought it to the dealer and was told that the car was unsafe to drive.what do I do now?

the rear subframe is rusted all the way through from the inside out. I work at Toyota Motors Manufacturing Indiana and I happen to work in the are that builds subframes for siennas and highlanders if toyota had a known issue such as this with such a safety concern there would for sure be a recall. This was discovered from a knocking noise in the rear of the vehicle we elevated the rear and removed the passenger side rear tire and discovered all the rust falling out using a screwdriver to check around it would pass completely through the subframe.

Rear subframe broke and the back tire came off. The problem was the rear subframe was rusted out. The rust has eaten away the entire subframe of this vehicle. The VDC off light had been on for 2-3 days and it was scheduled to go into the shop.

Noticed a rattle in right rear of vehicle. Upon further investigation the k frame is rotted into two pieces where a body mount travels thur the structure steel frame. The corrosion is vast on this steel frame. There have been other complaints on various years same models. This is a very dangerous thing to break during driving because the entire wheel support connects to the corroded frame member. I have read on the internet that this is a issue with the k frame. The vehicle is well cared for and this repair is something I think should be a safety recall.

The Dash above the glove compartment has developed a crack from some unknown reason. As this crack appeared the air bag warning signal began flashing. I called Nissan to let them know what had happened with the dash cracking and the airbag warning, and that this was a safety issue that has occurred through no fault of mine. They told me that there was no recall on the car and I was responsible. The dash should not just crack ! And If the airbag system is compromised due to this cracking I feel Nissan should be responsible to make the necessary repairs! The car has less than 60,000 miles on it and is under a roof when not being driven.

I TOOK MY 2010 NISSAN MURANO LE AWD TO MAUS NISSAN OF NEW PORT RICHEY, FL BECAUSE THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT WAS FLASHING. THIS WELL MAINTAINED, GARAGE KEPT VEHICLE WITH 74500 MILES, 95% OF SERVICE/MAINTENANCE DONE BY NISSAN, WAS IN PRISTINE CONDITION, SINGLE DRIVER,NO ACCIDENTS, AND RARELY EVEN A PASSENGER. WHEN I RETURNED 3 DAYS LATER, I WAS TOLD THE LIGHT WAS STILL FLASHING EVEN THOUGH THEY REPLACED THE "K88201AAOE SENSOR SIDE AIRBAG CENTER". I WAS BILLED $1840.81 FOR THIS REPAIR THAT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. I WAS THEN TOLD THE DIAGNOSTICS SAID THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE THE "SEAT OCCUPANT SENSOR" FOR AN ADDITIONAL $4210.81 BECAUSE THE PART WAS INTEGRATED INTO THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT SO THE WHOLE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT HAD TO BE REPLACED! I WAS THEN ADVISED TO CALL NISSAN'S CORPORATE CUSTOMER CARE AT 1 800 NISSAN1. MY MAUS SERVICE CONSULTANT SAID SHE HAD SEEN CUSTOMERS WITH "130000 MILES AND A BLOWN TRANSMISSION" AND CUSTOMER CARE HAD COVERED THE REPAIR. SHE ALSO SAID THAT THEY WOULD LIKELY REIMBURSE MY $1840.81 SINCE THE REPAIR DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE. I CALLED CUSTOMER CARE AND DETAILED MY SITUATION. A WEEK LATER THEY CALLED TO TELL ME THAT MY REQUEST HAD BEEN DENIED. I REACHED OUT TO MAUS NISSAN VIA THEIR FACEBOOK AND WEB PAGES AS WELL AS A YELP AND GOOGLE REVIEWS. ATTACHED ARE COPIES OF MY INVOICE, ADDITIONAL REPAIR ESTIMATE AND THE ONLY NON AUTOMATED REPLY FROM WITH MAUS NISSAN.

THE DOOR LOCKS ON THE MURANOS DO NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. FROM READING MESSAGE BOARDS ONLINE IT LOOKS LIKE A COMMON ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE RECALLED AS IT IS NOT JUST MY VEHICLE. SOMETIMES IT WON'T LOCK AND OTHER TIMES IT WON'T UNLOCK. IT DOESN'T WORK WITH EITHER THE KEYFOB OR FROM THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR. IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN NOT BEING ABLE TO LOCK AND UNLOCK THE CAR DOOR. SOMEONE COULD OPEN YOUR CAR DOOR OR NOT BEING ABLE TO UNLOCK IT TO EXIT THE VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY. NISSAN WANTS SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS TO FIX THE ISSUE WHEN IT IS SOMETHING THAT IS A COMMON DEFECT ON THEIR END. THEY SHOULD HAVE TO FIX IT.

FOR THE SECOND TIME IN 6 MONTHS, MY SUNROOF EXPLODED. THE FIRST TIME WAS IN JULY, 2012, AND I WILL FILE A SEPARATE REPORT FOR THAT INCIDENT.. BOTH TIMES THE DEALER SAID THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE. OUT OF THE BLUE, IT SOUNDED LIKE A GUN SHOT, IT WAS SO LOUD. THE GLASS WAS PUSHED UP WITH THE FORCE, WITH A BIG CIRCLE OF GLASS MISSING. I WAS NOT FOLLOWING ANOTHER CAR AND THERE WAS NO STONE KICKED UP AS CLAIMED BY THE DEALER. WITH THE COLD AIR OUTSIDE, THE GLASS WAS PUSHED UP WITH THE PRESSURE. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS IN THE SUMMER, AND WITH THE PRESSURE, THE GLASS WAS PUSHED INWARD. THIS SEEMS TO BE A DESIGN FLAW, AS MANY OTHERS ON THE INTERNET HAVE CLAIMED THE SAME PROBLEM, EVEN THOUGH THE DEALERS CLAIM THEY HAVE NOT HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM SHOULD NOT BE IGNORED, AS SOONER OR LATER THIS ISSUE WILL RESULT IN SERIOUS ACCIDENTS, POSSIBLY A FATALITY, AND IT WOULD BE DIFFICULT FOR NISSAN TO SAY THEY WERE NOT AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM. Vehicle will not accelerate. I will drive it a few miles, and it will be just fine. I drive it more, and it will stall and not accelerate. In fact, on 6/30/25, I was getting on the highway and it wouldn't accelerate and 8 warning lights came on. It has a brand new battery, alternator, idle sensor, and throttle position sensor. My dad and grandpa both know a lot about cars, and they are at a loss.

The radio volume knob has an electrical defect. If you touch or use the volume knob the volume will automatically increase unexpectedly. This is a problem when driving. It will turn up so loud and unexpectedly that I have all most crashed my car. At this point the stereo is inoperable. Also was told the steering column has a crack. I bought this car brand new. That feels like a defective part and not something that the owner should have to replace, but should be the responsibility of the car maker.

I began hearing a rattling sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. I believed it was possibly the suspension, as the vehicle would also bounce more often than expected when going over any irregularities in the road (potholes, speed bumps, normal wear on roads, etc). I brought it to the dealership where I purchased the vehicle, and they found no issues. I had previously replaced all 4 tires and brakes before hearing this sound, and nothing was brought to my attention then, either. The noise continued, and I brought the vehicle to another mechanic, where the damage was found immediately. The frame had corroded to the point where the mechanic advised me to not even drive home, rather have the vehicle towed to the dealership to be assessed and checked for a recall. Multiple incidents similar to mine have been found - all starting after 100k miles - but none have resulted in an official recall notice.

On 3/15/2023 while in traffic (0730) the traction light began to fash & the vehicle began to fishtail. Fortunately I was Abe to exit the expressway without an additional incident. Had the vehicle towed to Fred Martin Nissan in Akron, OH this is the dealer that has maintained my vehicle since 2010 & the only service department that has repaired my vehicle. I was advised the rear subframe was broken! 3/3/2023 I had the vehicle aligned at Fred Martin at which time I advised the vehicle pulled to the left while breaking & a noise intermittently was coming from the back of the vehicle. This incident could have cost me or another their life or serious injury! This is a HUGE safety risk & Nissan needs to address the issue immediately!

The contact owns a 2010 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that the brake pedal would intermittently depress to the floorboard without warning. The contact initially had a family member replace the brake master cylinder; however, the failure returned the following day. The contact then took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who recommended that the ABS actuator be replaced. The contact then called the manufacturer and was informed that there was a recall on her vehicle for a brake fluid flush, and the vehicle was towed to a dealer. A diagnostic test was performed, and a brake fluid flush was also performed on the vehicle. The failure returned soon after the repair. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer and was informed that she had to pay a diagnostic fee to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 110,300.

2010 NISSAN MURANO, (PURCH 11/30/2009) I HAVE A PASSENGER AIR BAG SAFETY CONCERN! (CASE # 37896824) THE RED AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT IS FLASHING! (WHILE DRIVING AT ALL SPEEDS AND WHILE IDLING) & THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT (YELLOW), REMAINS ON - INDICATES FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG IS OFF! TOOK MURANO TO NISSAN SERVICE CENTER, TECH DID DIAGNOSTIC TEST - GOT A CODE B1018 OCS IS MALFUNCTIONING. TECH CLEARED CODE, TO TURN OFF THE RED FLASHING AIRBAG LIGHT & SAID IF RED LIGHT STARTS FLASHING AGAIN, COME BACK TO SERVICE DEPT. 1ST STEP TO FIX WOULD BE REPLACE FRONT PSSNGR SEAT ACU ASSEMBLY. (VERBALLY WAS TOLD THEY MAY HAVE TO REPLACE THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT CUSHION). RED LIGHT FLASHING AGAIN THE NEXT DAY, DROVE IT FOR 2 WEEKS TO SEE IF THAT WOULD RECALIBRATE RED FLASHING LIGHT, WAS STILL FLASHING AFTER 2 WKS, RETURNED TO NISSAN SERVICE DEPT ON 10/29/19. SAID NEED TO REPLACE THE FRONT PASSENGER CUSHION, (THE OCS FOR AIR BAG IS IN CUSHION) & POSSIBLY AN ACU! I SEE, MURANO HAS HAD SEVERAL PASSENGER AIR BAG RECALLS: THE 2009 MURANO: RECALL # 08V521000 - SAFETY ISSUE - THE OCS CONTROL UNIT LOCATED IN FONT PASSENGER SEAT CUSHION, COULD CAUSE INTERRUPTION OF SIGNAL BETWEEN OCS & ACU - SUPPRESSED AIR BAG COULD FAIL TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE PROTECTION IN A CRASH. RECALL # 08V066000 - SAFETY ISSUE - DUE TO INCORRECT SOFTWARE PROGRAMMING- THE ACU MAY CAUSE PASSENGER AIR BAG TO NOT OPERATE AS DESIGNED IF BATTERY BECOMES SIGNIFICANTLY DISCHARGED - RESULTING IN PASSENGER AIR BAG NOT TO OPERATE AS DESIGNED. 2013 - 2015 MURANO RECALL - SAFETY ISSUE - FRONT PSSNGR OCS COMPONENT MAY INCORRECTLY CLASSIFY ADULT AS A CHILD OR THAT SEAT IS EMPTY DESPITE OCCUPIED - FRONT PSSNGR AIR BAG MAY BE TURNED OFF & NOT DEPLOY IN A CRASH! * I SEE A LOT OF SIMILARITIES IN THE PAST RECALL DESCRIPTIONS WITH WHAT IS OCCURRING TO MY 2010 NISSAN MURANO PASSENGER SEAT. MY 2010 MURANO SUDDENLY DEVELOPED A LOOSE DRIVER'S INTERIOR SUN VISOR THAT HAS BECAME PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. IT WILL NOT STAY IN THE "UP" POSITION AND WILL DROP DOWN TO THE POINT WHERE IT BLOCKS MY VIEW OUT THE WINDSHIELD WHILE DRIVING. FROM DISCUSSIONS AT VARIOUS NISSAN ONLINE SITES, I HAVE FOUND THAT MANY OTHER OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM FOR ONE OR BOTH VISORS. SOMETHING INSIDE THE VISOR ITSELF BREAKS AND THE VISOR WILL NO LONGER STAY WHERE ONE SETS IT. I HAVE HAD MINE SUDDENLY FALL DOWN UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE DRIVING OR ESPECIALLY GOING OVER A BUMP, ROAD VIBRATIONS OR SMALL POTHOLE ETC. AND IT WILL NOT STAY UP, SO SUDDENLY WITHOUT WARNING MY VIEW OF THE ROAD AND TRAFFIC IN FRONT OF ME IS BLOCKED. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

I PURCHASED MY CAR, USED, FROM NISSAN OF CANTON (MICHIGAN), ON SEPT. 23, 2016 WHERE THERE WERE NO DISCLOSURES OF ANY SAFETY CONCERNS DUE TO STRUCTURAL OR OTHER CONCERNS. ON MARCH 15, 2018, THE RIGHT REAR OF CAR MADE A METAL SNAPPING SOUND AND BEGAN DRIVING POORLY SO I TOOK THE CAR TO AN ASE CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO FOUND "THE REAR FRAME HAS ROTTED OUT WHERE THE TORSION ARM MOUNTS TO THE CROSSMEMBER". I WAS TOLD THE SUB-FRAME SHOWS SIGNS OF EXCESSIVE RUST AND CORROSION SUCH THAT, THE CAR NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN PUT UP FOR SALE BY THE NISSAN DEALER IN 2016 AS THE ROT AND CORROSION OF THE FRAME IS A SAFETY CONCERN. THE MECHANIC INDICATED THAT WHEN THE CAR IS ON A LIFT, THE CORROSION, ROT AND EXCESSIVE RUST IS EVIDENT AND SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN MISSED BY THE MECHANIC THE NISSAN DEALER'S USED TO ENSURE THE CAR WAS SAFE TO SELL. I TWICE CONTACTED THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP TO SHARE THIS INFORMATION AND TO SEEK A SOLUTION. I SENT THE USED CAR MANAGER A PICTURE OF THE UNDERCARRIAGE THAT IS INCLUDED BELOW. THE DEALER SAID THE RUST MUST HAVE DEVELOPED SINCE I TOOK OWNERSHIP OF THE CAR AND THAT THEY WEREN'T RESPONSIBLE. I REJECTED THIS AND ASKED TO MEET WITH THE USE CAR SALES MANAGER ON MONDAY, MARCH 26, 2018 WHERE I WILL ASK THAT THE CAR BE RETURNED TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A FULL REFUND AS I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING A CAR SOLD TO ME WITH SERIOUS FRAME DAMAGE, ROT, RUST AND CORROSION. I AM FEARFUL THE ROTTED FRAME WILL SNAP, RESULTING IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE I OR OTHERS, MAY BE SERIOUSLY HURT OR EVEN KILLED. KNOWN PROBLEM WITH NISSAN 2010 MURANO CVT AND TRANSFER CASE FAILURE. CVT / TRANSFER CASE FAILED AT 96,000 AND THEY KNOW ABOUT HIS CONSTANT PROBLEM AND DO NOTHING. TRYING TO DEAL WITH NISSAN HAS BEEN A DISASTER AND NO ONE WILL TALK TO ME ABOUT PAYING FOR THIS KNOWN PROBLEM. BOTH SWAY BARS BROKE BECAUSE OF THE VIBRATION AND SHAKING FROM THE CV SHAFT

DRIVING NORTH ON THE I-15 FREEWAY, APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH (THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT), IN THE FAST LANE, IT WAS EVENING, DARK OUTSIDE, AROUND 7 PM. THERE WERE NO CURVES IN THE ROAD AT THAT TIME. ALL OF THE SUDDEN MY SUN ROOF GLASS EXPLODED WITH A HUGE BANG SOUND, EXTREMELY LOUD, AND IMMEDIATELY THERE WAS A LOT OF WIND NOISE. I HAD THE INTERIOR SUNROOF SCREEN CLOSED, THANK GOODNESS. OTHERWISE I WOULD'VE BEEN COVERED IN TEMPERED GLASS. I PULLED OFF THE FREEWAY AS QUICKLY AND SAFELY AS I COULD, INTO A GAS STATION PARKING LOT TO EVALUATE THE SITUATION. UPON INSPECTION, I NOTICED THERE WAS APPROXIMATELY A 2' X 1' HOLE IN THE CENTER OF MY FRONT SUNROOM. SHARDS OF GLASS WERE EVERYWHERE, AND THE INTERIOR NETTING WAS SHREDDED. I WAS ABLE TO GET SOME PLASTIC AND DUCT TAPE TO COVER THE WINDOW ENOUGH SO THAT I COULD GET HOME. IT WAS ALSO A WINDY DAY.

THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKED & FALLING APART. IF YOU TOUCH IT ITS STICKY & PIECES START TO FALL OFF OF IT. MY FRIENDS TOYOTA CAMRY WAS OLDER THAN MINE & THEY REPLACED HER ENTIRE DASHBOARD FOR FREE. IN ADDITION THE NUMBERS ON MY RADIO HAVE FADED & ALL AROUND THE RADIO THE SILVER PART IS PEELING. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT AFTER ONLY 5 YEARS OF OWING MY CAR THINGS LIKE THIS STARTED TO HAPPEN. THE DASHBOARD TO ME IS UNACCEPTABLE.

WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IN A 55 MPH ZONE AND AS WE WERE DRIVING THE CAR LOST ACCELERATION, ALL DASH LIGHTS WERE ON AS NORMAL. WE WERE LUCKY TO COAST OFF WITHOUT BEING HIT AND WE HAD OUR 10 MONTHS OLD WITH US. HAD THE CAR TOWED TO LOCAL DEALER AND NOW 5 DAYS LATER DEALER CALLED TO LET US KNOW THAT THEY DIAGNOSED ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY FAILURE, WHICH IS NO LONGER COVERED.. WE WERE NOT WILLING TO PAY THE $1100 THAT THE DEALER QUOTED US SO WE HAD THE SAME TOW TRUCK DRIVER PICK OUR CAR BACK UP FROM THE DEALER AND BRING THE CAR TO OUR HOME. WHEN THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER WAS UNLOADING IT OFF FLATBED HE CRANKED THE CAR RIGHT UP. WE CRANKED IT MULTIPLE TIMES WITHOUT ISSUE. SO WE CALLED THE DEALER AGAIN TO LET THEM KNOW AND THEY ARE STANDING BY DIAGNOSIS. I FEEL THAT THIS CAR IS A LEMON AS THE HEAD GASKETS FAILED AROUND 25000 MILES. HAVE TAKEN TO DEALER FOR BURNING SMELL ISSUES MULTIPLE TIME SINCE WE BOUGHT IT IN MARCH 2013. I'M ALSO VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE ODORS ESPECIALLY DURING PREGNANCY AND DRIVING INFANT AROUND. *JS

THE DRIVER'S SIDE POWER DOOR LOCK STOPPED WORKING AT ABOUT 60,000 MILES. I TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP, SAID IT WAS ACTUATOR. IT WAS A VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIR SO I CHOSE TO MANUALLY LOCK AND UNLOCK THAT DOOR. A MONTH OR SO LATER, ONE OF THE BACK DOOR LOCKS STOPPED WORKING AND THE FRONT PASSENGER LOCK SOON FOLLOWED. BY 75,000 MILES, NONE OF THE DOORS WOULD RESPOND TO THE POWER LOCK BUTTONS OR THE REMOTE. THE BACK DOOR LOCKS ARE NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO REACH FROM THE DRIVER'S SEAT, SO EITHER THE DOORS STAY UNLOCKED ALL OF THE TIME RISKING MY FAMILY TO INTRUDERS OR THEY STAY LOCKED ALL THE TIME REQUIRING ME TO GET OUT OF THE CAR AND GO AROUND TO THE PASSENGER SIDE TO REACH IN AND UNLOCK THE BACK DOOR SO THAT MY CHILD CAN GET IN THE BACK SEAT. I CONTACTED NISSAN BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY IT IS SOME KIND OF DESIGN FLAW IF ALL FOUR HAVE GONE BAD BUT THEY REFUSED ANY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE ON THE REPAIR AND REFUSED TO GIVE INFORMATION OF ANY OTHER COMPLAINTS ON THIS SAME ISSUE. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY NOT A CRASH RISK SO MAYBE THIS ISN'T THE PROPER FORUM TO VOICE THIS COMPLAINT; HOWEVER IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE FOR THE PASSENGERS. HAVING TO GET OUT OF THE CAR TO UNLOCK A DOOR WHEN PICKING SOMEONE UP IS A DANGER AS IS BEING UNABLE TO LOCK ALL THE DOORS FROM THE DRIVER'S SEAT IN CASE OF UNWANTED ATTENTION FROM SOMEONE OUTSIDE THE CAR. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN MURANO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WERE UNUSUAL FUMES BEING EMITTED INTO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHO STATED THAT THERE WAS A LEAK WITHIN THE HEAD GASKET. AS A RESULT, THE HEAD GASKET AND TRANSFER CASE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE REMEDY DID NOT REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, AND OFFERED TO MAKE THE ADDITIONAL REPAIRS AT NO COST. THE MANUFACTURER ALSO OFFERED TO EXTEND THE WARRANTY ON THE PARTS THAT WERE BEING REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 17,000.

UNSAFE DESIGN OF TILT STEERING WHEEL ADJUSTMENT LEVER (SWAL) THAT WILL CAUSE A SHATTERED LEFT KNEE IN A FRONT OR REAR CRASH (FORC). THE SWAL IS POSITIONED ON THE LOWER LEFT SIDE OF THE STEERING COLUMN SO THAT THE LEFT KNEE WILL BE SHATTERED IN A FORC. OTHER VEHICLES DO NOT HAVE THIS DESIGN FLAW. NISSAN MAINTAINS THAT THE SWAL DESIGN HAS NOT RESULTED IN PROBLEMS AND THEREFORE NOTHING WILL BE DONE. IN OTHER WORDS, UNLESS THE GOVERNMENT TAKES ACTION TO PREVENT SERIOUS INJURIES NISSAN WILL DO NOTHING. RE: PASSENGER SIDE, AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT. ACCORDING TO THE NISSAN MANUAL, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG LIGHT WILL ALERT THE PASSENGER WHEN THE AIR BAG IS NOT FUNCTIONING. THEY ADVISE THAT WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THE AUTO SHOULD IMMEDIATELY BE BROUGHT TO THE DEALER. I AM EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM WITH MY AUTO AND HAVE NOTIFIED BOTH NISSAN (FILE 670 4193) AND BARRON NISSAN. AS OF TODAY, BOTH HAVE FAILED TO ADVISE HOW THIS CAN BE CORRECTED. I AM AWARE THAT IN 2009, NISSAN HAD A RECALL (#08V521000) FOR THEIR PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG LIGHT ON THE MURANO. *TR UPDATED 03/12/10
