I HAVE A 2008 NISSAN ROGUE. HAVE HAD IT LESS THAN A YEAR. 3 DAYS AGO, WITHOUT WARNING, THE TRANSMISSION STARTED SHAKING AND JERKING WHEN I WAS TAKING OFF FROM A RED LIGHT ON THE WAY TO TAKE MY DAUGHTER TO SCHOOL. PULLED OFF THE HIGHWAY AND SAT A COUPLE MINS, SINCE I WASNT SURE WHAT WAS HAPPENING. AS I TRIED TO PULL BACK ONTO THE HIGHWAY THE ROGUE WOULDNT GO. HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED BACK HOME. HAD A TECHNICIAN PUT MY VEHICLE ON A COMPUTER. THE TRANSMISSION IS OUT OF IT.

BOUGHT CAR IN 2012 WITH 64,000 MILES. IN OCTOBER OF 2017 , WITH 121,000 MILES NOTICED A GRINDING NOISE WHEN TAKING OFF TOOK TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP , WAS INFORMED THAT TRANSMISSION WAS BAD. REPLACED TRANSMISSION FOR $3700. IN JUNE OF 2019 WITH 138,000 MILES STARTED HAVING A VIBRATION IN THE FRONT WHEN TAKING OFF IN BETWEEN 1500 AND 2500 RPM WAS TOLD THAT TRANSMISSION WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED IN THE INSIDE, THE PUMP WAS NOT WORKING AND METAL SHAVINGS. I AM WITHOUT A JOB AND HAD TO TAKE MY SEVERANCE PAY TO PAY $4,107 TO REPLACE ANOTHER TRANSMISSION. THAT DID NOT INCLUDE THE RIGHT TIE ROD THAT I CONSTANTLY HAVE TO REPLACE WHICH SEEMS TO GO OUT EVERY YEAR. FIXING BOTH LOWER CONTROL ARMS AND THE REAR SUSPENSION AT OVER $1200.00 THE WEEK BEFORE THE TRANSMISSION. THIS CAR IS WELL TAKEN CARE OF OIL CHANGES EVERY 3,000 MILES AND CONSTANT UPKEEP.

VEHICLE RUNS O K AT FIRST, AFTER 6 OR 7 STOPS AT LIGHTS OR STOP SIGNS OR FOR OTHER REASONS, WHEN YOU STEP ON THE GAS THERE IS NO RESPONSE, THE ENGINE IS STILL RUNNING, BUT THE CAR WONT GO, SOMETIMES IT WILL HESITATE AND THEN TAKE OFF QUICKLY, WHICH IS ALSO DANGEROUS.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH, THE VEHICLE JERKED WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE CONTINUOUS VARIABLE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 136,000.

CVT TRANSMISSION FAILURE. AT 86000 MILES. I WAS ON STREET AND HEARD A GRINDING NOISE AND IT JUST POPPED. IT LOST POWER NO ACCELERATION. I LUCKILY COASTED TO A DIRT ROAD WHERE AS SOON AS I TURNED IT STOPPED. WOULD NOT GO. HAD IT TOWED TO DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY'VE HAD FOR 7 DAYS SO FAR. I'M OUT 445$ ON RENTAL CAR SO FAR. THEY PAY FOR TRANSMISSION BUT 300+ OTHER STUFF I HAVE TO PAY. SO I'M OUT 800+ $ FRANKLY I DONT REALLY HAVE. I KNOW COULD BE WORSE BUT THIS IS UNEXPECTED $ I HAD TO PAY PLUS KEEP UP ON REGULAR BILL'S. NOT RIGHT.

The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the driver's side air bag warning light continued to blink on and off. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the NHTSA Campaign Number: 08V521000(AIR BAGS, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced that same failure listed in the recall. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 112,851.

While driving to work passenger airbag light came on and wouldn't shut off, regardless of whether or not a person was sitting there, in addition the airbag warning light on the dash also came on. I took the car to an independent mechanic who told me it was an OCS issue (Code B1018). After a little research I found a recall for this issue on my model car (NHTSA Ref# 08V521000) but my VIN is excluded. Contacted a local dealer and was told it would likely be $2,500 for a new seat cushion. This severely affects any passengers safety in my vehicle and should be addressed by Nissan.

THE FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT REGISTER IF THERE IS FUEL IN THE TANK, THIS HAS BEEN AN ON-GOING ISSUE FOR MANY MONTHS, AND HAS GRADUALLY GOT WORSE TO THE POINT, THAT WHEN YOU START THE ENJOY IT ALWAYS STARTS AT ZERO. NISSAN HAD A RECALL ON A NUMBER OF OTHER MODELS AND MAKES WITH THE SAME ISSUE, THE ROUGE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THAT RECALL IN 2014. PER THE DIRECTION ON THE LAST RECALL WE ARE ATTEMPTING TO FILL THE TANK BEFORE IT GETS BELOW 50% FULL.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND RECOMMENDED KEEPING THE FUEL TANK ABOVE HALF FULL TO AVOID THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. I FILLED UP MY GAS TANK ON 10/8/17 AND THE GAS GAUGE SHOWED ONE BAR LESS THAN FULL. THIS IS THE 5TH TIME THAT MY FUEL SENDING UNIT HAS BROKEN OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS. THE 1ST TIME ON 6/26/10, THE 2ND TIME ON 3/30/11 (REPORTED 3/30/11, REPAIRED 4/13/11), THE 3RD TIME ON 6/6/12 (REPORTED 6/6/12, REPAIRED 6/12/12), THE 4TH TIME ON 6/3/13 (REPORTED 6/3/13, REPAIRED 6/17/13), AND NOW THE 5TH TIME ON 10/8/17. I BOOKED AN APPOINTMENT WITH MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THEY CONFIRMED THE MALFUNCTIONING FUEL SENDING UNIT ON 10/13/17. BUT, THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY, AND THEY HAD NO DISCRETION OR ABILITY TO MAKE A REPAIR OUT OF WARRANTY AND THAT I NEEDED TO CALL CONSUMER AFFAIRS. I CALLED CONSUMER AFFAIRS ON 10/13/17 AND EXPLAINED THE SITUATION TO TWO INDIVIDUALS. BOTH WOMEN ACKNOWLEDGED THAT IT WASN'T ACCEPTABLE THAT I'M NOW DEALING WITH THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE AGAIN. I WAS TOLD THAT A REGIONAL CONSUMER AFFAIRS SPECIALIST WOULD REVIEW THE CASE AND MY SERVICE RECORDS, AND THEN CONTACT ME WITH A DECISION. AFTER BACK AND FORTH WITH THE SPECIALIST AND HER SUPERVISOR, I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WERE REJECTING MY CASE BECAUSE I WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. I QUESTIONED THAT AS A REASON, GIVEN I WAS DIRECTED TO THIS GROUP FOR AN 'OUT OF WARRANTY' REVIEW. I EXPLAINED AGAIN THAT I HAD EXPERIENCED THIS SAME PROBLEM REPEATEDLY. THIS HAD RESULTED IN THE SAME PART BEING REPLACED MULTIPLE TIMES UNDER WARRANTY. AND EACH OF THOSE TIMES, IT BROKE ' POINTING TO EITHER FAULTY PARTS BEING INSTALLED WHILE UNDER WARRANTY, OR IMPROPER INSTALLATION WHILE UNDER WARRANTY. I BELIEVE THIS NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO AS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IT COULD RESULT IN SOMEONE RUNNING OUT OF GAS WHILE DRIVING. NISSAN DOESN'T APPEAR TO BE TAKING THE ISSUE SERIOUSLY. GAS GAUGE SHOW EMPTY SOMETIMES WHEN ITS ON HALF TANK THEN THE ENGINE LIGHTS TURN ON,WHEN GET FULL TANK AND RUN FOR 2 HRS THE ENGINE LIGHTS GOES OFF BUT WHEN GAS TANK GET TO HALF, SOMETIMES WHEN ENGINE STARTS THE GAUGE SHOWS EMPTY TANK AGAIN AND THEN IN SHORT TIME THE GAUGE START GOING UP AGAIN BUT NOT SURE IF ITS READING RIGHT FILL OF GAS. SOMEBODY SAID IT MIGHT A PROBLEM ON GAS VALVE THAT THE SPRING WON'T WORK GOOD. IT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME ANYWHERE ALL THE TIME, IN MOTION OR IN STOP.

Additionally, the contact stated that the message "Passenger Air Bag Off" was displayed while the front passenger's seat was occupied. The contact stated that he connected an OBD reader to the vehicle and retrieved diagnostic codes that indicated that the passenger occupant sensor unit had failed. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 08V521000 (Air Bags, Electrical System). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

The contact's stepsister owns a 2008 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the passenger’s side air bag light remained off while occupied or while unoccupied. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 08V521000 (Air Bags, Electrical System) which he linked to the failure. The contact's stepsister called the dealer and was provided an estimate for the repair after being informed that her vehicle was not included in the recall. The contact then called and informed the manufacturer of the recall however, the manufacturer stated that they had no record of the recall. The manufacturer then referred him to NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 49,000.

THE MFG TOLD THE CONTACT THAT DUE TO THE CURRENT MILEAGE OF THE VEHICLE, 190218 AS OF FEB 2020, THEY COULD NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE RPM WILL SKYROCKET AND THE VEHICLE WILL NOT MOVE FORWARD. WE HAVE TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND LET IT SIT FOR A FEW HOURS BEFORE IT DRIVES NORMALLY AGAIN. LATELY THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN BUCKING WHEN SHIFTING FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE.

TODAY I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY GOING A STEADY SPEED OF ABOUT 70 MPH FOR ABOUT 30-40 CONSECUTIVE MINUTES. MY 2008 NISSAN ROGUE SL BEGAN TO DECELERATE SLOWLY. I BEGAN TO PRESS GRADUALLY ON THE GAS PEDAL. AS I DID THIS, THE CAR MADE A WEIRD SOUND AS IF IT WAS TRYING TO SHUT OFF. AT THIS POINT MY FOOT WAS PRESSED TO THE FLOOR ON THE GAS PEDAL AND THE CARS RPM WAS GOING AS HIGH AS 4000 BUT THE CAR ITSELF WAS NOT ACCELERATING OVER 50 MPH. ALL OF THIS HAPPENING WHILE I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AT AROUND 6:30 PM. I COULD HAVE EASILY GOTTEN INTO AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPEN EITHER. A FEW TIMES I HAVE BEEN AT A COMPLETE STOP AT A RED LIGHT OR COMING OFF OF THE HIGHWAY RAMP AND THE CAR WILL TAKE 10-15 SECONDS TO ACCELERATE AND TAKE OFF! THIS IS SERIOUSLY DANGEROUS BUT CAN ALSO BE QUITE ANNOYING FOR THE CAR BEHIND ME. ALL THIS HAPPENING WITH NO WARNING LIGHTS ON MY DASH, I HAVE GOTTEN THE CAR CHECKED OUT BUT TO NO AVAIL NO CODES ARE COMING UP AND MY CAR SEEMS TO BE FINE. I HONESTLY BELIEVE THIS IS A GLITCH IN THE SOFTWARE OR SYSTEM. I HAVE READ MANY COMPLAINTS ON MULITPLE DIFFERENT FORUMS COMPLAINING OF THE SAME ISSUE ON THE SAME MAKE, YEAR AND MODEL! I HONESTLY BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED AND HOPE THAT ONE OF YOUR TECHNICIANS SERIOUSLY LOOK INTO THIS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY HURT!

I AM HAVING CVT TRANSMISSION ISSUES. IT STOPS ACCELERATING WHEN ON THE HIGHWAY AND I'M NOT ABLE TO GO FASTER THAT 60 MPH. WHEN I TRY TO ACCELERATE THE RPM METER GOES UP, WHICH ISN'T GOOD. I AM NO LONGER WITHIN 10 YEAR FRAME OF NISSAN'S EXTENDED WARRANTY SO I HAVE TO COME OUT OF POCKET FOR A TRANSMISSION THAT NISSAN KNOWS ISN'T RELIABLE AND WILL FAIL AGAIN. I'M HOPING THAT A RECALL COMES FROM THEM INSTEAD OF AN EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT LEAVES A LOT OF CONSUMERS OUT IN THE COLD. I'M GLAD THIS HAPPENED TO ME CAUSE I KNOW, NEVER, TO BUY A NISSAN VEHICLE.

STARTED VEHICLE AND DROVE WELL. STOPPED AT AN INTERSECTION AND WHEN IT WAS MY TURN TO GO CAR RPMS WERE HIGH BUT CAR WOULDN'T MOVE. THE LIGHT CHANGE AND I FOUND MYSELF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION AND CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. I TOOK MY FOOT OF GAS AND THEN IT JUST SPED UP AND I HAD TO USE THE BREAKS TO MAKE IT SLOW DOWN. ALSO IT WOULD SLOWDOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY WHICH IS DANGEROUS CAUSE SPEED LIMIT WAS 70MPH AND I COULDN'T MOVE THE CAR TO GET IT OUT OF THE WAY.

THE DEALER (FAULKNER NISSAN, 3925 PAXTON STREET, HARRISBURG, PA 17111, (717) 558-8220) PERFORMED SEVERAL DIAGNOSTIC TESTS AND REPAIRS PER TSB: 0918A, SUCH AS REPLACED THE VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY PER A CONSUMER AFFAIRS CASE, REPLACED THE CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (CVT) CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY, ONE COOLANT RING, ONE GASKET, THE OIL PAN SEAL LIP, RESET THE FLUID LEVEL, AND OTHER REPAIRS; HOWEVER, THEY FAILED TO PROVIDE A PERMANENT REMEDY. THE CONTACT INFORMED THE DEALER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THE CVT WARRANTY EXTENSION; HOWEVER, THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THE REPAIRS WERE NOT RELATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND STATED THAT THE DEALER FAILED TO PROVIDE A PERMANENT REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT ISSUED A TRANSMISSION RECALL, BUT ISSUED EIGHT TSBS FOR THE POWER TRAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,449.

My car has started leaking water onto the driver's side floorboard. I thought it might be from the sunroof and cleaned out the channels on both sides of the car. There was a recall years ago about a harness causing a problem with leaking water and possibly causing electrical problems. I took the car in for the repair. They told me that they fixed the problem. My car has started leaking again as it rains. The leak is getting worse and I need some advice. I am retired and have very limited funds. FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HANDLE FAILED - DOOR COULD NOT BE OPENED. NISSAN HAD ISSUED AN SERVICE CAMPAIGN THAT COVERED REPAIRS IF THE ISSUE HAPPENED BY 72,000 MILES. ISSUE OCCURRED AT 74,000 MILES SO REFUSED TO COVER THE COST. THIS WAS A SAFETY ISSUE IF I NEEDED TO ESCAPE FROM THE VEHICLE FROM THAT DOOR. DUE TO THE SAFETY ASPECT, NISSAN SHOULD BE ISSUING A RECALL FOR THE LIFETIME OF THE VEHICLE. DRIVER SIDE DOOR HANDLE HAD STARTED TO FAIL AT TIME OF REPAIR AND HAD TO BE REPLACED ALSO. I just made a complaint about the passenger airbag light showing it does not sense when a passenger inns in the front passenger seat with seatbelt fastened and car is running or driving. I MADE A PREVIOUS COMPLAINT ON 9/05/2016 (NHTSA ID NUMBER: 10903665) AND HAVE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION TO ADD. I WAS TOLD BY NISSAN REP THAT MY VIN NUMBER WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL OF THE PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR. THEY SAID THE SENSOR WAS CHECKED IN 2008 AND WAS OK, THEREFORE, THEY WERE NO LONGER RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY FAILURE OF THAT PART. THE ORIGINAL PART THAT WAS RECALLED IS THE PART THAT IS STILL IN MY VEHICLE. THAT PART HAS FAILED. I GOT RECORDS FROM THE NISSAN DEALER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FOR THAT RECALL AND THEY SHOW THAT THEY DID THE RECALL ON 12/01/2008 AND THEY ALSO SHOW THEY DID ANOTHER OCS INSPECTION ON 02/09/2010 DUE TO CUSTOMER COMPLAINT. EVIDENTLY THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH IT AT THAT TIME. THEY DID NOT CHANGE THE PART. MY GUESS IS THAT THEY RESET IT AND THAT WORKED AT THAT TIME. I NOW HAVE A VEHICLE THAT WOULD BE UNSAFE FOR ANYONE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND THAT REQUIRES APPROXIMATELY $1,700 TO REPLACE A PART THAT IS UNDER RECALL BY NISSAN THAT THEY CLAIM NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR. THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE MADE TO BACK UP THE VOLUNTARY RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE FOR THE NUMEROUS INDIVIDUALS EXPERIENCIN THIS ISSUE. A LIGHT RED INDICATOR LIGHT ALSO CAME ON ON THE DASH AND IT WAS BLINKING. BOTH OF THESE LIGHTS HAVE CONTINUED EVERY TIME WE USE THE CAR WHETHER SOMEONE IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT OR NOT. AFTER SEEING THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE 2008 OCS FROM NISSAN, I TOOK THE CAR TO OUR LOCAL NISSAN DEALER AND THEY SAID OUR VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. WHY NOT, HOW DID THEY DETERMINE THAT. THE SAME PART WAS USED ON ALL THE 2008 ROGUES AS WELL AS MANY OTHER NISSANS OF THAT YEAR. WHY IS NHTSA NOT INVESTIGATING THIS. THERE ARE HUNDREDS, PROBABLY MORE, NISSAN VEHICLES 2008-2009 THAT HAVE THIS VERY EXPENSIVE PROBLEM AS WELL AS VERY UNSAFE, LIFE THREATENING ISSUE. NISSANS "VOLUNTARY" RECALL HELPED THEM ESCAPE A FULL RECALL. THEY HAVE NOT HONORED THEIR "VOLUNTARY" RECALL.

THE GAS GAUGE IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. I HAVE RESEARCHED THE ISSUE AND FOUND MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS OF NISSAN OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. BELOW ARE SOME OF THE ISSUES WE RECENTLY PURCHASED A 2008 NISSAN ROGUE AND NOTICED THAT THE GAS GAUGE IS OFF. EVEN WITH A FULL TANK OF GAS, THE GAUGE WILL READ THE TANK AS BELOW THE FULL LEVEL. AT TIMES IT WILL SHOW THE TANK AS 3/4 OR 1/2. OTHER TIMES IT WILL SHOW THE TANK AT A FULL LEVEL WHEN IT SHOULDN'T BE, FOR EXAMPLE, 85 MILES DRIVEN ON A FULL TANK OF GAS. I WOULD THINK THAT SHOULD REGISTER AT LEAST ONE NOTCH BELOW THE FULL LEVEL. IT WILL CONSTANTLY GO UP AND DOWN ON THE SAME TANK OF GAS. HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THESE ISSUES? I AM HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I FILL UP THE GAS TANK AND IT ONLY READS 3/4 TANK. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES. THE LAST TIME THEY ADMITTED THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE SENSOR. WE NOTICED A PROBLEM WITH THE GAS GAUGE A FEW MONTHS AGO AND LAST WEEK THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I CALLED OUR MECHANIC AND HE HAD SAID THERE WAS A NOTICE THAT CAME UP ABOUT THE FUEL SENDING UNIT NOT READING CORRECTLY ON ANOTHER YEAR ROGUE. I ASKED IF WE CAN BRING IT IN AND HE SAID HE WOULD CHECK TO SEE IF THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM. I LOOKED ON THIS SITE AFTER READING SEVERAL NISSAN FORUMS AND FOUND THAT THIS IS A PERSISTENT PROBLEM WITH ROGUES. THE ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE IS THAT IT IS SHOWING A QUARTER TANK OF GAS, BUT IN REALITY THERE IS NO GAS AT ALL. THE CAR STOPS ACCELARTING AND EVENTUALLY DIES. I FIRST HAD THIS PROBLEM CHRISTMAS EVE 2011. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY ADDED SOME GAS AFTER NOTING THE GAUGE AND THE CAR STARTED UP. I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AND I NOTICED THAT MY STEERING WHEEL JERKED SLIGHTLY THEN THE PS LIGHT CAME ON AND I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT HAD HAPPENED UNTIL I HAD TO MAKE A LEFT TURN. AFTER THAT I DROVE IT TO THE CLOSEST PLACE TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT IT AND THIS OPERATION PRINTED ME OUT A REPORT CALLED NHTSA CAMPAIGN AND TOLD ME TO TAKE IT TO THE ST. CHARLES NISSAN DEALER. ON MY WAY THERE THE PS LIGHT WAS OFF AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT THERE WITH NO ISSUES. THE EMPLOYEE AT NISSAN THAT HELPED ME SAID HE WAS ABLE TO LOOK AT IT AND TOLD ME THERE WASN'T ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE POWER STEERING. HE CALLED IT A GLITCH. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE FROM THE DEALER BACK TO WORK WITH NO PROBLEMS. AFTER WORK THE PS LIGHT CAME BACK ON WHEN I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY. I WENT TO MY FRIENDS HOUSE TO PICK UP MY SON AND I STAYED FOR A FEW HOURS. I WAS DRIVING ON I-5 FROM LOS ANGELES TRAVELING ABOUT 65MPH. I HAD BEEN DRIVING FOR ABOUT 55MIN WHEN MY VEHICLE RPM'S STARTED TO INCREASE AND MY MPH'S STARTED TO DECREASE. I TRIED TO PUSH THE GAS PEDAL DOWN TO ACCELERATE BUT JUST THE RPM'S WOULD REV UP AND CAR KEPT LOSING SPEED. I HAD TO PULL OVER VARIOUS TIMES AND LET THE CAR SIT WHILE OFF FOR ABOUT 20-25 MIN BEFORE I COULD DRIVE SAFELY AGAIN. JULY 2014: ON ANOTHER CROSS COUNTRY TRIP PROBLEM RE-OCCURRED. WENT TO DAVE SOLON NISSAN IN PUEBLO COLO. THEY ADVISED NOT TO CONTINUE DRIVING ROGUE UNTIL A TRANSMISSION COOLER KIT WAS INSTALLED. AFTER HAVING IT THERE FOR A FEW DAYS THE TECHNICIAN SAID HE COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM! I LEFT AND BEFORE I COULD EVEN GET 15 MILES DOWN THE ROAD I WAS GOING APPROXIMATELY 60MPH, WHEN ALL THE SUDDEN I STARTED LOSING SPEED. REGARDLESS OF THE FACT THAT I HAD THE GAS PEDAL TOO THE FLOOR! I TURNED AROUND AND TOOK IT STRAIGHT TO NISSAN, HOWEVER IN THE LAST 10 MINUTES OF MY DRIVE TO THE SERVICE SHOP THE PROBLEM STOPPED! THEY KEPT IT FOR ANOTHER DAY AND STILL COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND THEY STATED THAT IT WAS MOST LIKELY THE ABS SENOR THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WE REPLACED THE SENSOR AND I THOUGHT ALL THE PROBLEMS HAD BEEN SOLVED! WRONG!!!! THERE HAVE BEEN 3 INSTANCES WERE I HAVE HAD THE CRUISE CONTROL SET WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE, AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN I START LOSING SPEED! THERE HAVE BEEN 4 INSTANCES WHERE I HAVE ALMOST BEEN T-BONES WITH MY 2 SMALL CHILDREN IN THE CAR BECAUSE THE CAR HAS LOST ACCELERATION IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION!!! ANY WAYS I TOOK THE CAR IN TO SEE WHAT WAS WRONG AS THIS COULD CAUSE A PROBLEM IF IT ALLOWS YOU TO ROLL HALFWAY INTO AN INTERSECTION BUT THEN WILL NOT ACCELERATE. THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP SAID IT SOUNDS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION COOLER ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I STARTED TO EXPERIENCE PROBLEM ACCELERATING OR SWITCHING GEARS WITH MY CAR. I PURCHASED IT USED IN 2010 AND HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH IT UNTIL TWO MONTHS AGO. I TRAVEL LONG DISTANCES (AVERAGING 300-350 MILES) EVERY OTHER WEEKEND AND ONE AFTERNOON, WHILE ON INTERSTATE 80, I NOTICED THAT IT WASN'T SHIFTING AND THE SPEED REMAINED AT 60MPH. THE RPMS WENT UP PAST 4 AND I HAD TO PULL OVER IN FEAR THAT IT WOULD MAKE THINGS WORSE. I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND PRAYED BEFORE I WENT BACK ON THE HIGHWAY. IT WORKED FINE THAT DAY. The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving on Highway I-10 at 65 MPH, there was an extremely loud popping sound coming from the vehicle. The contact immediately pulled over, assuming there was a failure with the tire. Upon further investigation with her parents, it was determined that the tires were intact, and the abnormal sound came from the side air bag deploying unintendedly. Additionally, the seat belt seized. The vehicle was towed to the local Nissan dealer, where it was diagnosed with an erroneous rollover detection by the crash sensor, which triggered the deployment of the side air bags. The crash sensor detected a rollover, causing the side airbag to deploy. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and filed a case, and informed the contact that a response would be provided later. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

After driving roughly two hours on highway in stop and go rush hour traffic, our 2008 Nissan Rogue lost its ability to accelerate and the RPM would go only slightly above 2000. There were no dashboard warning lights. We pulled over at a rest stop and turned off the engine for ten minutes but the problem persisted. We had to get off the freeway and take back roads out of concern for our safety. We reached our destination, the then car sat for several hours and behaved normally for about an hour on the way back, but then the problem recurred. We only drove short distances for the next month, but on our next long drive the same thing happened again. Our mechanic found no engine codes and does not know what is causing the problem. This all happened only about 3000 miles after we had a new OEM transmission installed. For over two months, we have been unable to take any long trips with this car out of concern for both our ability to complete the trip and for our safety as well as the safety of others.

WAS RETURNING FROM TRIP NORTH CAROLINA BACK HOME TO TENNESSEE ONCE ABOUT HOUR AWAY FELT CAR JUST START SLOWING DOWN CAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE WHEN PUSHING ON GAS. WAS ABLE TO GET TO RIGHT HAND LANE AND GET OFF INTERSTATE JUST BEFORE CAR WENT TO A CRAWL. CAR WAS MAKING WHINING NOISE WHILE TRYING TO MOVE CAR FROM HIGHWAY. CAR CAME TO STOP AND UNABLE TO MOVE AGAIN. HAD CAR TOWED BACK TO MY HOUSE SENT TO SHOP TO FIND OUT THAT TRANSMISSION HAD MALFUNCTIONED. DOING RESEARCH ON TRANSMISSION FOUND OUT THE NISSAN ROUGE IS USING CVT TRANSMISSION AND THAT NISSAN EXTENDED THE WARRANTY TO 120K OR 10 YEARS. MY RESEARCH ALSO FOUND OUT THAT OTHER NISSAN OWNERS OF ROGUE AND MURANOS WERE HAVING ISSUES WITH CVT TRANSMISSION. WHEN I FOUND OUT THAT ABOUT THE WARRANTY I CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER CARE TO INQUIRE ABOUT THIS. I WAS TOLD MY MODEL AND MAKE QUALIFIED UNDER WARRANTY AND THAT MILEAGE DIDN'T MATTER. NISSAN DECIDED NOT TO ASSIST ME WITH REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT OF TRANSMISSION. I TRIED TO TELL NISSAN ABOUT LETTER THAT STATED THEY WOULD DECREASE COST EVEN ABOVE 120K. THEY REFUSED TO DO SO. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO VAVOLINE AND THEY TOLD US THAT THE CAR'S TRANSMISSION PAN IS ALMOST RUSTED OUT AND WE HAVE A 4 MAJOR LEAKS UNDER OUR VEHICLE SO BAD THAT THE BLOCK UNDER THE VEHICLE AND THE FRONT AXEL IS WET FROM THE FLUID LEAKS. The transmission shudders, jerks, whines, roars loudly. Yes it’s available for inspection. I was driving up a hill with my grand children in the car, and it started shuddering. Didn’t seem to be getting gas at all. The tank was full. Then it started rolling backwards down the hill. Needless to say my grand children were scared to death as I was also. No I haven’t spoken to anyone about the problem, as I don’t know who to talk to? Nobody has looked at it yet. I figured the transmission went, so I haven’t bothere$ with reaching out, until a friend told me hers did the exact same thing. So we looked it up. Yes it seemed to be shuddering before but never lost power and rolled backwards. There were no warning lights, or signs of it quitting. There was no acceleration at all. Just slowly lost power. It was still running but when you push the gas pedal you got nothing. Not even the reving of the motor!03/29

THE CONTACT HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO SEVERAL INDEPENDENT MECHANICS WHO ALL LINKED HER FAILURE TO THE CVT TRANSMISSION. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO SEVERAL UNKNOWN DEALERS HOWEVER, EACH DEALER ASKED FOR A DIAGNOSTIC FEE WHICH SHE DECLINED EACH TIME. THE MANUFACTURER HAD YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 105,000.

I PURCHASED MY NISSAN ROGUE IN 2010. IMMEDIATELY AFTER PURCHASING IT A RED WARNING LIGHT DISPLAYED ON THE DASH INDICATING AN AIRBAG PROBLEM. A MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS THE AIRBAG SENSOR IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT THAT DETERMINES IF SOMEONE IS SEATED THERE OR NOT. I WAS UNABLE TO AFFORD A NEW SENSOR. I CHECKED NHTSA RECALLS AND LOCATED RECALL# 08V521000. WHILE THIS SOUNDS LIKE THE PROBLEM MY NISSAN ROGUE IS EXPERIENCING, PER MY VIN, MY CAR IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL.

MY WIFE AND I LEASED A 2008 NISSAN ROUGE TWO YEARS AGO. AN ISSUE HAS SINCE TRANSPIRED. IN OCTOBER OF 2009 WE NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT OCCASIONALLY GOES ON REGARDLESS OF THE SIZE OF THE PERSON SITTING THERE. THIS LIGHT INDICATES THAT THE AIRBAG IS OFF. WE TOOK IT TO NISSAN AND THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. OVER THIS LAST YEAR THE ISSUE CONTINUES TO ARISE. I DECIDED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE IN THIS PAST MONDAY WITH A ROUTINE CHECK. PRIOR TO MY DROPPING THE VEHICLE OFF I DECIDED TO RECORD IT ON MY PHONE AS WE WERE DRIVING SEEING AS THOUGH I COULD NOT BRING THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AS SOON AS IT WAS HAPPENING. AFTER THE CAR WAS THERE FOR A FEW HOURS, I GOT A CALL BACK SAYING THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR AND THEY ARE READY TO RELEASE. DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR ON BOTH FRONT DOORS FROZE AFTER FREEZING RAIN/ ICE STORM. IN THE MORNING I OPENED THE DOOR AND STARTED THE CAR (DID NOT CLOSE THE DOOR) AND WENT INSIDE THE HOUSE WHILE IT WARMED-UP. WHEN I RETURNED THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE OR THE INSIDE HANDLES. THE PASSENGER DOOR HAD STOPPED WORKING FROM THE OUTSIDE HANDLE ABOUT 6 WEEKS EARLIER AFTER A SIMILAR STORM, THOUGH I WAS NOT AWARE OF THE RELATIONSHIP OF THE PROBLEM TO THE WEATHER AT THE TIME. WHEN I TRIED TO OPEN THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE HANDLE ON 03/12/2014 IT WOULD NOT OPEN. I WAS NOW NOT ABLE TO ACCESS THE VEHICLE FROM EITHER FRONT DOOR. I WAS ABLE TO CLIMB IN THROUGH THE BACK SEAT, OVER THE CONSOLE TO TURN THE CAR OFF. I WAS THEN DIRECTED BY NISSAN CUSTOMER AFFAIRS TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. WHEN ACCESSING THE CAR TO DRIVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP I STRAINED MY BACK AND SCRATCHED MY HAND AND ARM ON THE CONSOLE (NO DOCTORS VISIT). UPON ARRIVING AT THE DEALERSHIP IN ALBAN, NY I HAD TO CRAWL OUT OF THE CAR THROUGH THE BACK DOOR. I CALLED ALL OF THE NISSAN DEALERSHIPS IN THE AREA AND THEY WERE ALL SERVICING AT LEAST ONE 2008 NISSAN ROGUE WITH THE SAME ISSUE AFTER THE FREEZING RAIN STORM. THE PARTS WERE ORDERED FOR ME TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK FOR REPAIR. I WAS TOLD IT WOULD TAKE 2 - 3 DAYS FOR THE PARTS TO COME IN. MY 2008 NISSAN ROGUE HAS A TENDENCY TO LOSE POWER ON THE HIGHWAY AFTER BEING DRIVEN FOR OVER A LONG PERIOD OF TIME AT A CONSTANT SPEED, USUALLY ABOUT 45 MINUTES TO AN HOUR AT 75 MILES AN HOUR. THE VEHICLE WILL START MY MAKING A WEIRD WHISTLING OR WHINING NOISE THEN AFTER THAT YOU CANNOT ACCELERATE IT'LL BE STUCK AT WHATEVER SPEED YOUR GOING. THE CAR EXPERIENCED EXTREME DECELERATION ON THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR SEEMED BACK TO NORMAL AND I MADE IT HOME. THE EXTREME ACCELERATION HAS HAPPENED TO ME 2 OTHER TIMES AND I CANNOT AFFORD ANOTHER VEHICLE. SINCE THIS WAS A ROAD TRIP SEVERAL HUNDRED MILES FROM HOME, WE HAD TO REINFORCE THE PLASTIC COVER JOB WITH HEAVY CARDBOARD, ADDITIONAL PLASTIC, AND TAPE SO WE COULD DRIVE THE INTERSTATE AND PROTECT THE CAR FROM FURTHER DAMAGE, WIND, AND RAIN. Also, while turning the steering wheel in either direction, there was a creaking sound coming from the steering column. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 08V521000 (Air Bag) and 09V411000 (Steering). Problem 1: I always put my purse on the passenger seat, and the air bag deactivation light turns on on the dashboard. One day, I took the purse off yet the light did not turn off. Ever since then the airbag light has been on. The car has been fixed by Nissan since then for another recall, but the airbag was not fixed as they said it was not a recall. When I took it to Nissan to access having them fix the issue last year, they said I would have to pay about $600 out of pocket. The year it occurred was 2014, and the car has not been driven much since then. Problem 2: The left rear door's handle simply broke off in my hand last year. When I took the car to Nissan to see if they stand behind their handles staying on cars, and would replace it, but they gave me an estimate upwardsnof $600 to repair it. Problem 3: The gas guage does not read properly, as I found put when it ran out of gas yet the car was reading a half full tank. Repair estimate for this issue was about $600. Problem 4: The tires always read as flat, even when taken to get filled by a professional. Nissan's estimate to fix this issue was approximately $600. I was informed by Nissan of the Avenues (Jacksonville, Florida) that there are recalls for EVERY SINGLE ONE of those issues for the 2008 Nissan Rogue, but just not for MY specific vehicle.

1.Frame bracket has rusted out and dealer only sells whole frame. VERY EXPENSIVE *It is obviously an issue which has not been addressed but has been *noted on internet. (went after market to repair still at $775!) 2. Airbags system light now on and was on recall in the past. Dealer will only look at it for $100. * Noted on internet as a continuous issue for some. 3. Cruise Control on past recall. Has not functioned since dealer fixed in recall. *Still turns on by itself and will not go off unless I turn vehicle off. **Definite safety issue** 4. Parking brake not functioning properly was also on recall. If I use it then it will not release all the way and continues to drag. USELESS. Have had repaired 2 times by mechanic since recall. 5. Transmission replaced on SILENT recall with extended warranty. Had issues from almost the start. WHY would I purchase another Nissan of any type? Vehicle 2008 Nissan Rogue is 13 1/2 years old with only 76,000 miles. No way should it have these issues. It has never been in an accident! I love the vehicle but not these issues. I will be replacing this vehicle in the future with a competitor.

The contact owns a 2008 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving approximately 5-10 MPH, she heard an abnormal intermittent banging sound coming from underneath the front end of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the strut assembly needed replaced. The contact stated the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who test drove the vehicle but could not determine the cause of the failure. The mechanic performed a front-end alignment on the vehicle. The contact stated after the front-end alignment was completed, the abnormal banging sounds increased significantly. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who diagnosed that the driver’s side front subframe was corroded and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The contact was awaiting a call back from the manufacturer. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 57,000.

MY MECHANIC HAS NEVER SEEN ANYTHING AS BAD AS THIS. THE CAR IS COMPLETELY UNDRIVEABLE AND I SHUDDER TO THINK WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED TO MY FAMILY AND MYSELF AS WE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. HENCE LAST YEAR MY CAR LITERALLY ROLLED BACKWARDS WHILE I ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE UP HILL, RIGHT INTO TRAFFIC , POTENTIAL TO BE A DEADLY ACCIDENT , NOTING THE VARIETY OF COMPLAINTS I BELIEVE THAT THEIR WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO DIE. MY VEHICLE LOST THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY ON WEDNESDAY. THE TRANSMISSION DIED ON MY 2008 NISSAN ROGUE. AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE IN JUNE 2008, WE HEARD "WHIRING" NOISES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP OF PURCHASE AND WE HAVE THE NOTATION THAT CUSTOMER COMPLAINED OF WHIRING. RESULT WAS THERE WERE NO ISSUES. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE WHEN MY AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT STARTED FLASHING, AND THE "AIRBAG OFF" INDICATOR LIT UP FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I DISCOVERED THAT THIS PROBLEM WAS POSSIBLY RELATED TO THE OCS SENSOR MALFUNCTIONING, AND THAT THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH A RECALL (08V521000). I CALLED THE RECALL CENTER AND WAS TOLD THAT MY CAR WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THIS RECALL, AND THAT I SHOULD TAKE MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALER ON 10-2-13 FOR THEM TO RUN A DIAGNOSTIC. WAS INFORMED THAT IN FACT, THE OCS HAD GONE BAD; BUT AGAIN TOLD THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL, AND WOULD COST $2819 TO FIX. I HAVE SINCE ESCALATED MY CASE TO THE REGIONAL LEVEL, GIVEN THAT MY CAR HAS LESS THAN 50K MILES, WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW, AND A SENSOR SHOULD LAST WELL BEYOND THAT! I WAS TOLD BY THE REGIONAL OFFICE TO SUBMIT A COMPLAINT, AND THAT THEY WILL FURTHER RESEARCH MY SITUATION. *TR

THIS IS ONE OF SEVERAL SIMILAR INCIDENTS. I WAS ON A ROAD TRIP TO NYC, DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ON AT 73 MPH. IN ALL INCIDENTS, I NOTICED THAT AFTER HAVING THE CRUISE ON FOR OVER AN HOUR, ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CRUISE WOULD JUST "KICK OFF". IT WOULD STOP WORKING. AND MY CAR WOULD START TO DECELERATE. BEING ON A MAIN HIGHWAY, TRAVELING 73 MPH WITH EVERYONE AROUND ME GOING EQUALLY AS FAST, IF NOT FASTER, AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN DECELERATING WAS LIKE PUTTING ON THE BRAKES WITH NO BRAKE LIGHTS. IT WAS POSITIVELY DANGEROUS AND SCARY. TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, AFTER IT GOT DOWN TO BETWEEN 60 AND 65, IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I PUT MY FOOT TO THE FLOOR AND THERE WAS NO ACCELERATION. I GOT INTO THE RIGHT HAND LANE AS QUICKLY AS I COULD, AND PRAYED THE ENTIRE TIME TO NOT BE KILLED. AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES, I WAS ABLE TO ACCELERATE UP TO 70. BUT THE CRUISE WOULD JUST KICK OFF AS SOON AS I SET IT AGAIN. MADDENING, DANGEROUS AND SCARY. AND IT HAPPENED MORE THAN ONCE. EXACTLY THE SAME WAY EACH TIME. AND ONLY AFTER BEING IN THE CAR WITH CRUISE ON FOR OVER AN HOUR. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HIS FRONT PASSENGER OCCUPANCY SENSOR LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. AFTER DIAGNOSIS THEY ADVISED HIM THAT THE ENTIRE PASSENGER FRONT SEAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 75,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 108,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE BRAKES FAILED WITHOUT ANY WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATION. THE CONTACT HAD TO PULL THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION, FUEL GAUGE, AND MASTER CYLINDER ALL NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED OF AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE WITH THE AIR BAGS. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 33,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR WARNING LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL OF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED, BUT STATED THAT NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 09V393000 (TIRES:PRESSURE MONITORING AND REGULATING SYSTEMS) WAS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THE CONTACT'S VIN. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE FAILURE BY REPLACING THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,141 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 36,300.

ON DEC 12, 2011 AT 0500 AM MY 2009 2008 NISSAN ROGUE HAD A KEYLESS ENTRY ROLLAWAY. THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF AND ROLLED AWAY CAUSING CAR AND PROPERTY DAMAGE (DAMAGE TO THE CAR DOOR) AFTER TURNING OFF MY ENGINE I LEFT THE CAR, LEAVING THE CAR DOOR OPEN AND THE CAR ROLLED AWAY. I BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A MAJOR DESIGN FLAW OF KEYLESS ENTRY CARS AND THAT IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF BOTH THE NTSB AND NISSAN TO PERSONALLY NOTIFY PEOPLE OF THIS MAJOR DESIGN FLAW AND TO PROVIDE CORRECTIVE ACTION TO AVOID REPEATED ACCIDENTS. SOME SORT OF "FIX" SUCH AS AN AUTOMATIC LOCK SHOULD PREVENT THE VEHICLE FROM LEAVING ROLLING AWAY WHEN THE CAR ENGINE IS TURNED OFF. IN REVIEWING THE INFO AVAILABLE FROM NTSB I NOTED THAT THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW THAT HAS BEEN NOTED IN SIMILAR CASES INVOLVING ROLLAWAY ACCIDENTS AND THAT BOTH INDUSTRY HAS NOT TAKEN CORRECTIVE ACTION. *TR

THE ABS AND SLIP LIGHTS ILLUMINATE ON THE DASH AND THE ABS SYSTEM BEGINS TO ENGAGE RANDOMLY. THE CAR BUCKS AND JOLTS AS IT SLOWS DOWN RAPIDLY. THIS OF COURSE IS VERY UNSAFE. THIS HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES OVER THE PAST MONTH. THE DEALER HAS HAD THE CAR A COUPLE WEEKS AT A TIME AND CAN'T RECREATE THE PROBLEM SO THEY WON'T REPLACE ANY PARTS. THE DEALER CLAIMS THIS IS A DECISION MADE BY NISSAN AND IF THE DEALER REPLACES THE PARTS THEY WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THEM. WE EVEN PROVIDED THEM VIDEO TAPE FROM A PHONE OF THIS OCCURRING. THE SERVICE MANAGER TELLS US NISSAN HAS NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM WHICH IS HARD TO BELIEVE WHEN THERE ARE MANY WEB-SITE POSTS OF THE SAME PROBLEM IN MANY NISSAN VEHICLES.
