The dashboard airbag light is blinking and will not shut off. I have tried to reset it and it goes off but comes right back on. I have took it to an auto part shop for a diagnostic reading and no code comes up. I see on the internet where nissan has recalled 2008 and 2010 Rogue for this problem but not the 2009.

The passenger side airbag indicator light flashes continually on the dash and stays illuminated on the console. This same issue was recalled for the 2008 and 2010 Nissan Rogues but for some reason not the 2009. My vehicle only has 62,000 miles on it currently and this is a safety issue.

The contact owns a 2009 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the air bag warning light illuminated, and the "Passenger Air Bag Off" warning message was displayed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed with occupant sensor unit failure. The front passenger seat and the occupant sensor unit needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer, Nissan of Melbourne (440 S Harbor City Blvd, Melbourne, FL 32901) and Mike Erdman Nissan (4640 FL-520, Cocoa, FL 32926) were made aware of the failure and informed the contact to bring the vehicle in for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The manufacturer referred the contact to file a complaint with NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 126,000. Consumer called 3 different Nissan dealers in our local area (Pat Fischer Nissan, Nissan of Melbourne, and Mike Erdman Nissan) and they concurred you cannot just buy the sensor, you must order the seat which contains the sensor (seat part #873A2JM30B). The list price is $1,630.45—even with Nissan dealer installation, the seat must be ordered and paid for in advance and is not returnable as it is part of the Air Bag System. The labor cost is approximately $230-$250 when you add in additional shop fees and taxes, the total repair cost is in the $2,000 range.

The contact owns a 2009 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving up an incline at various speeds, the stalled while depressing the accelerator. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle shuddered without warning. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the rotor was replaced on the passenger’s side front however, the failure persisted. The contact was referred by another mechanic to an authorized dealer to schedule an appointment for the vehicle to be diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

ONCE THE VEHILCE IS WARMED, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE FROM A STOP. WITH THE ACCELERATER PEDAL HELD DOWN IN ABOUT 15 SECONDS THE RPM WILL RISE AND THE VEHICLE WILL KICK INTO GEAR AND BEGIN TO ACCELERATE.

I have a 2009 Nissan Rouge. The CVT TRANSMISSION is failing. I know there was a recall on certain 2009 Rouges for this. Mine is not on the recall list but I think it should be. Its leaking fluid bad, just all of a sudden. It won’ t accelerate after I stop at a traffic light , it’s sluggish, sometimes it feels like the engine is going to fall out when I do finally get it to go, it smells hot, it sputters and jerks when on freeway and in traffic I’m not sure what it’s going to do. I’m a 67 year old woman who is on a fixed income. I can’t afford a new car or to have another transmission put in this one. Nissans are suppose to last forever. They are supposed to be reliable cars. I need help

2009 NISSAN ROGUE WITH LESS THAN 60,000 ORIGINAL MILES WON'T ACCELERATE EVEN WHEN PUSHING DOWN THE THROTTLE PEDAL. ON THE HIGHWAY, ONCE DRIVEN FOR A WHILE, IT WILL NOT MAINTAIN SPEED NO MATTER HOW MUCH THROTTLE IS APPLIED. RESEARCH SEEMS TO INDICATE A TRANSMISSION DESIGN FLAW. THERE ARE LOTS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS THAT CAN BE FOUND ON-LINE. I FEEL THIS IS VERY MUCH A SAFETY HAZARD.

DEFECTIVE DOOR HANDLE/LOCKING ASSEMBLY. BOTH FRONT DOORS HANDLE ASSEMBLY FROZE UP PREVENTING ME FROM OPENING BOTH DOORS. IN THE MEAN TIME MY WIFE HAD CLIMB FROM THE BACK SEAT TO OPEN THEDOOR FROM THE INSIDE. ONE TIME SHE STOPPED AT THE TOP OF THE DRIVEWAY TO GET THE MAIL ON A SNOWY WINDY DAY, SHE PULLED UP NEXT TO THE MAILBOX GOT OUT FOR A SECOND AND THE DOOR BLEW SHUT LOCKING MY 2 YEAR OLD SON, THE KEYS AND HER PHONE IN THE BACK SEAT THANKFULLY NEIGHBOR WAS HOME AND USED A COAT HANGER TO ACTIVATE THE LATCH . THIS COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE. I CALLED THE LOCAL DEALER SHIP AND PAID 99 BUCKS TO DIAGNOSE AND THEY SAY I NEED TO REPLACE THE LATCHES AND IT WILL COST ABOUT 900 BUCKS !! ONLINE AND ANOTHER MECHANIC HAVE SAID THIS IS A RECALLED ISSUE AND THE LATCHES FREEZE AND THEY WILL REPLACE FREE OF CHARGE AND THERE IS EVEN AND ADDENDUM TO AD ADDITIONAL INSULATION TO LATCHES TO PREVENT FUTURE FREEZE UPS. I AM GOING TO TRY TO CALL ANOTHER DEALERSHIP AND CORPORATE NISAAN IF I HAVE TOO. SOME ONE PLEASE HELP ME WITH INFORMATION ON THIS SAFTEY ISSUE.

WE HAVE STOPPED DRIVING THE VEHICLE IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT & UNTIL WE GET A SOLUTION, IN THE PAST COUPLE OF DAYS MY NISSAN ROGUE STARTED MAKING TERRIBLE NOISES UNDERNEATH THE ENGINE AREA, LIKE METAL ON METAL SOUNDS. I HAD ASSUMED MAYBE MY CV BOOT NEEDED REPLACED SO I BROUGHT IT TO MY MECHANIC AND HE BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION TODAY THAT THE SUB BODY FRAME BUSHINGS ARE COMPLETELY GONE ON 2 SPOTS. IN MY OPINION THAT SHOULD'VE BEEN SHOULD BE A RECALL OUR WARRANTY ITEM WHICH IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS

BOTH FRONT DOORS WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE AFTER BEING EXPOSED TO FREEZING TEMPERATURES IN OUR DRIVEWAY OVERNIGHT. DESPITE HAVING ONLY 44,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER WE WERE TOLD BY A NISSAN REP THAT THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR THE CAR. IF WE WANT THE CAR FIXED WE WERE TOLD BY THE NISSAN DEALER THE COST WOULD BE ABOUT $700. BECAUSE THE DOORS WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD IN THE EVENT WE WERE INCAPACITATED INSIDE THE CAR,OR A CHILD WERE TO GET STUCK INSIDE THE VEHICLE.

I HAVE THE SRS LIGHT CONSTANTLY ON AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE OCCUPANT SEAT SENSOR IS BAD AND NEED REPLACEMENT. THIS DEVICE STOP THE PASSENGER SEAT AIR BAG FROM DEPLOYING EVEN IF THERE IS AN OCCUPANT, SO THEY ARE AT RISK. DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY USERS NEED TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR A SAFETY DEVICE THAT SHOULD WORK. 2008 NISSAN ROGUE WAS RECALLED, SO WHY OTHER YEAR AREN'T IF THE PROBLEM IS NOT SOLVED.

DEALER NOW SAYS THEY HAVE TRACED THIS BACK TO A FAULTY SENSOR IN THE SEAT CUSHION, AND THE COST OF THE PART ALONE IS OVER $2000.00 THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE, THERE A NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON HERE FOR VARIOUS YEARS OF ROGUES. AND THAT IS JUST FROM THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE TAKEN THE TIME TO VOICE CONCERN.

TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THEY CHARGED $115 FOR INSPECTION AND SAID THAT PASSENGER SEAT CUSHION NEEDS TO BE CHANGED WHICH HAS OCS SENSOR BUILT IN, WHICH WOULD COST ADDITIONAL $1965. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH ALL NISSAN ROGUE 2009 AND THE COMPANY MUST RECALL TO RESOLVE THIS AS IF THE AIRBAGS DO NOT DEPLOY IN CASE OF ACCIDENT IT COULD CAUSE SERIOUS INJURIES OR DEATH

THE CAR WILL NOT GO OVER 40 MILES PER HOUR ON MOUNTAIN PASSES. IT IS VERY SCARY WHEN SHARING A 2 LANE HIGHWAY WITH TRUCKS. IT OVERHEATS AND YOU ARE STUCK. I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH A 2009 ROGUE HAVING THIS ISSUE. IT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND REPAIRED BY NISSAN NOT BY THE CONSUMER.

FUEL GAUGE READING IS ERRATIC AND UNRELIABLE WHEN DRIVING AT STEADY SPEED. IT JUMPS ERRATICALLY BY AS MUCH AS HALF A TANKFUL, BACK AND FORTH.

WHILE DRIVING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC THIS CAR SLOWED DOWN AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR WAS DEPRESSED. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER FROM WHICH I PURCHASED THE CAR THERE IS AN APPARENT PROBLEM WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION WHEN IT OVER HEATS, IT SHUTS DOWN AND WILL NOT ALLOW ACCELERATION. THIS IS ALSO STATED IN THE OWNERS MANUAL, BUT IS NOT APPARENTLY VIEWED AS A SAFETY ISSUE. ( DON'T AGREE), BUT IT SEEMS SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE TO BE INJURED OR DIE IN ORDER FOR NISSAN TO RECALL THESE TRANSMISSION'S, THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. THE LATEST BEING LAST FRIDAY 05/21/2005 WHEN I WAS STOPPED FOR RED LIGHT AND COULD NOT GET THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE.

I WAS LEAVING A STORE AND GAS LIGHT CAME ON. I KNEW THAT I HAD FILL UP BEFORE ENTERING THE I-95 INTERSTATE AND I WAS A BIT PERPLEXED. I DROVE TO A GAS STATION AND FILLED UP ONCE AGAIN AND NOTICE THAT THE GAS GAUGE FILLED TO ITS CAPACITY. THIS OCCURRED A FEW MONTHS AGO AND I DISMISSED IT. ON 9/19/13, I STOPPED AT A GAS STATION AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. ON 9/20/13 I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A DIAGNOSTIC AND WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED A FUEL SENDING UNIT WHICH WOULD COST ME $1,087. OF COURSE, I DECLINE TO REPAIR IT BECAUSE AT THAT TIME I WAS FRUSTRATED WITH NISSAN AND DIDN'T HAVE THE FUNDS. PREVIOUSLY, I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK ON TWO OCCASIONS FOR TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WHICH I WAS GRATEFUL THAT IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION AND TREATED THIS INCIDENT AN OCCURRING PROBLEM WITH 09 ROGUE. I ONLY HAVE THIS VEHICLE FOR 1.5 YEARS AND I AM FEARFUL EACH TIME THAT I DRIVE. EVEN THE YOUNG GENTLEMAN FROM TRIPLE A TOLD ME TO GET RID OF IT BECAUSE WITHIN THE LAST MONTH HE HAS TO TOW QUITE A FEW. MY COMMUTE ON INTERSTATE EACH DAY IS WORRISOME BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT. AT SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST COMING FROM OUT OF A STOP, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS ABLE TO PUSH THE PEDAL HARD TO GET ACCELERATION AND MANAGED TO REGAIN ACCELERATION. ON 7/9/12, WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT STEADY SPEEDS, I BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN TO SLOWING TRAFFIC, WHEN TRAFFIC PICKED UP I WAS NOT ABLE TO GET ACCELERATION OUT OF THE VEHICLE. I PUNCHED THE PEDAL TO THE FLOORBOARD AND GOT NO ACCELERATION WHATSOEVER. THE RPMS WOULD NOT INCREASE THE OVERDRIVE WOULD NOT RESPOND AND WAS JUST COASTING AT 40 MPH. I SEARCHED ONLINE AND NOTICED IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING TO LOTS OF PEOPLE AND COULD BE SEVERAL POSSIBLE ISSUES. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE UP HILLS OR DURING HOT DAYS, THE VEHICLE WILL SUDDENLY IGNORE THE GAS PEDAL AND SLOW DOWN. THIS BECOMES TREACHEROUS ON LONG DRIVES THAT INVOLVE GOING OVER HILLS OR MOUNTAINS AS THEY CAR WILL SLOW TO UNDER 40MPH AND WILL NOT RESPOND TO THE GAS PEDAL. AFTER BRINGING MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY STATED THERE IS AN ECM RECALL. THEY CHANGED OUT THE PART, BUT THE ISSUE WHEN DRIVING STILL OCCURRED. NISSAN IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM (SEE NTB14-002), HOWEVER THE ISSUE IS NOT CONSIDERED A RECALL AND IS LABELED AS A CUSTOMER EXPENSE FOR THOSE OUTSIDE THE 60,000 MILE WARRANTY AND OPTIONAL UPGRADE. THIS IS A SERIOUS FLAW FOR ANY ROGUE OWNERS, AND IS A SAFETY RISK WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE! - OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS, I FILED A COMPLAINT TO THE NHTSA AND MADE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS TO THE DEALER SERVICE CENTER ABOUT THIS ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THE CVT. I COMMUTE EVERYDAY ON THE NJ TURNPIKE. I HAVE TO MAKE STOPS 'TO LET THE ENGINE/CVT COOL OFF' BOTH GOING AND COMING HOME FROM WORK BECAUSE THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE. I BARELY GET OVER TO THE SHOULDER IN HIGH SPEED TRAFFIC. SOMETIMES IF THERE ISN'T AN IMMEDIATE SHOULDER, I HAVE TO GO AT A SPEED OF 5-10 MPH IN HIGH SPEED TURNPIKE TRAFFIC OF 60-80 MPH TO FINALLY GET TO A SHOULDER. I ALREADY REPLACED ONE CVT IN THIS CAR. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE 2009 WHEN I PURCHASED THIS CAR. NOW I SEE IN 2014 NISSAN CAME UP WITH A 'FIX' TO REPLACE/INSTALL A COOLER KIT AND A TRANS OIL COOLER. THE TWO KITS COST ABOUT $860 WITHOUT INSTALLATION. WHY IS THIS COST PASSED ON TO US THE CONSUMERS? THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH THE NISSAN CVT DESIGN. MY TRANSMISSION GOT STUCK IN 1ST GEAR WHEN PULLING OUT ONTO A BUSY ROAD, CAUSING ME TO HAVE PULL OVER AND ALMOST GETTING HIT BY OTHER VEHICLES, WHEN I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC AND THEN A LICENSED NISSAN DEALERSHIP I WAS INFORMED IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION AND FURTHERMORE INFORMED THAT ON THE CONSUMER AFFAIRS NISSAN WEBSITE IT STATES THEY HAVE HAD MANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS TRANSMISSION AND DOUBLED THE WARRANTY FROM 60,000 MILES TO 120,000 MILES DUE TO THIS DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION, ON NOT JUST MY MODEL AND YEAR BUT OVER 8 YEARS AND 3 DIFFERENT MODELS OF NISSANS HOWEVER BECAUSE I WAS 5000 MILES OVER THE WARRANTY THEY WOULD NOT HELP ME PAY FOR THE $3586 I HAD TO PAY TO MAKE THE VEHICLE DRIVEABLE AND SECONDLY WHAT IF THIS TRANSMISSION WOULD HAVE GOTTEN STUCK OR WENT OUT ON A HWY WHERE I WAS DOING 65 MPH NISSAN SHOULD ALSO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST FOR GETTING THIS DEFECTIVE PRODUCT FIXED I CALL THEM SEVERAL TIMES AT CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND THEY WILL NOT ASSIST ME AT ALL BECAUSE I AM 5000 MILES OVER THE WARRANTY THE PUBLIC NEEDS TO KNOW HOW TERRIBLE OF A COMPANY THIS IS AND HOW DANGEROUS THIS COULD BE FOR OTHERS WHO OWN THESE VEHICLES.

THE CAR WENT INTO "LIMP MODE" UNEXPECTEDLY AND DOES NOT MOVE. NISSAN'S OLDER CVT TRANSMISSION GETS HOT AND TO PROTECT ITSELF, NISSAN HAS IT PROGRAMMED TO SHUT ITSELF DOWN. AS A RESULT, THE CAR WILL NOT MOVE, EVEN THOUGH IT IS IN GEAR. THIS HAPPENS AFTER LONG HIGHWAY DRIVES (1 HOUR +) OR WHEN CLIMBING LONG HILLS. THE DEALER SOLUTION IS TO CONTINUALLY FLUSH THE TRANSMISSION FLUID EVERY 30K MILES AT A COST OF OVER $200 EACH TIME. THIS IS VERY VERY VERY DANGEROUS, IF YOU ARE MAKING A LEFT-HAND TURN INTO TRAFFIC AFTER COMING TO A STOP, THERE IS A HUGE POTENTIAL TO BE INVOLVED IN A COLLISION. ADDITIONALLY, WHEN ON THE HIGHWAY, CLIMBING A HILL, THE CAR HAS AGAIN, GONE INTO LIMP MODE AND SLOWED DOWN TO A CRAWL, MAKING THE VEHICLE BEHIND YOU ALMOST REAR-END YOU. WIFE TURNING LEFT AT STOP LIGHT. STEPPED ON GAS PEDAL AND VERY LITTLE ACCELERATION, ALMOST T-BONED. IT HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY, AND WITH NO WARNING. I WAS DRIVING TO THE DEALER AND IT HAPPENED TO ME. I WAS DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED BETWEEN 70-75 MPH ON THE INTERSTATE. AFTER EXITING OFF THE INTERSTATE AND STOPPING AT THE STOP SIGN, I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL AND IT STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THE MOTOR WAS STILL RUNNING BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. THERE HAVE BEEN TWO OTHER INCIDENTS, 8/9/13 AND 10/10/13, WHEN I WAS TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND PASSING ANOTHER VEHICLE AND MY ROGUE STALLS AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND I HAD CARS BEHIND ME AND CARS IN THE RIGHT LANE. I UNDERSTAND THAT FEDERAL LAW NOW REQUIRES ALL NEW CARS TO HAVE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEMS. I WOULD LIKE TO COMPLAIN THAT MANY OF THESE SYSTEMS ARE SO SENSITIVE THAT THEY WILL BE EFFECTIVELY USELESS BECAUSE DRIVERS WILL IGNORE THEM. THE DRIVER'S, PASSENGER'S AND REAR DRIVER'S DOOR LOCKS DO NOT LOCK/UNLOCK PROPERLY. IT BEGAN WITH THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR FAILING TO OPERATE PROPERLY ONCE EVERY 3-4 WEEKS. I HAD THE DOOR HANDLE RECALL WORK COMPLETED IN MARCH 2011 SO I THOUGHT THE REMOTE'S BATTERY WAS WEAK AND REPLACED IT IN DECEMBER 2011. THEN THE MALFUNCTION STARTED TO OCCUR MORE FREQUENTLY. AFTER A FEW MONTHS, THE DRIVER'S DOOR LOCK WOULD NOT UNLOCK FOR ENTRY TO THE CAR OR LOCK ONCE I WAS INSIDE. TO GAIN ENTRY TO THE CAR, I WOULD HAVE TO OPEN THE DRIVER'S REAR DOOR AND REACH FORWARD TO UNLOCK THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. I HAD THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LOCK REPLACED IN MARCH 2012. NOW THE PASSENGER DOOR IS INOPERATIVE AS WELL AS THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. I MUST GET IN THE CAR AND REACH TO LOCK/UNLOCK THE DOORS FROM THE INSIDE. IF EVER QUICK ENTRY OR EXIT FROM THE CAR IS NEEDED, SOMEONE IS GOING TO BE HARMED. The driver's side seat is laying flat back and will not come up when I press the button. It has been like this for about two weeks. I am not comfortable driving the car but I need to have my mobility. I have a small special needs child and have not had her in the car since and have used uber on occasion. I live within public transportation in NYC so I have been taking a chance and driving like this to the subway and using the trains. I would like to see if my vehicle can be repaired under the recall #R21B9 regarding electrical issues, because based on what I am reading my issue is exactly as noted. The automatic transmission CVT is jerking when accelerating and it is a problem when in traffic. This could cause an accident. It is a risk to use. No other vehicle and have to work. I will continue to use it. Took it to AAMCO and repairs are over $5000.00 and can't afford it. New transmission or repair the one on the vehicle.

The passenger side Air Bag indicator has been on since 2019, was not aware I could report it here. I have not taken it to a Dealership because I can't afford to have it fixed. In 2018, I had to replace the CV joint and front rocker arms. A piece was cracked, and when I would turn I would hear a loud POP & TICKING sound from the front passenger side tire area. Again I paid over 1500.00 to have it repaired, I no longer have the photographs or the actual parts.

A vehicle was purchased from Pristine Auto Sales in Hopkinsville, KY. Following the purchase, the vehicle was inspected by a licensed mechanic and he reported the following, "I/We ("Licensed Mechanic Shop") inspected "Owner's" 2009 Nissan Rogue vin# XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX today due to her hearing grinding when applying her brake to stop and the vehicle is pulling to the left when applying the brake to stop. I also noticed the airbag light is on as well. Upon inspection the brake pads, the pads in the rear of the vehicle are metal to metal (on the inside) and the front pads are 1mm thick. According to NHTSA vehicles should not be on the road or even be sold from a dealer with brake pads any thinner than 3mm. It is a MAJOR safety concern as it will cause an accident. Also, after inspecting why the airbag light was on, it is found that one or more of the occupant sensors are defective and therefor causing the airbag system to be disabled. In the event of an accident the airbag system will not work. It is also against NHTSA for a vehicle to be sold with a defective Safety system such as Airbag system." The issues were present upon purchase. The purchaser is not knowledgeable about vehicles. Given that the vehicle was sold with the safety concerns already present, it appears that this auto sale business is not in compliance with NHTSA and mechanic has spoken with the business and they were unwilling to cooperate to ensure repairs were made on vehicle.

I contacted Nissan July 2018 and was told there were no reports of the issue I was having... Unfortunately what I've experienced seems to be common. I occasionally work as a self employed artist and on long trips my Rogue will refuse to speed up. It doesn't matter how hard I press the gas pedal. It's like something isn't connecting. Nissan said they couldn't find any reports of this happening but I see many complaints. The suv refuses to go over 20mph, sometimes even lower. This issue has put my life at risk many times and I'm wondering what it will take for something to change!? It happened going uphill multiple times and seems to happen when traffic is at a stop and go. The only recall issue I saw had to do with snow and salt getting in somewhere. This seems to happen when it's warmer outside.

I HAVE HAD MY CAR FOR FOUR YEARS NOW, AND EARLY THIS LAST YEAR, MY ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, HAD IT CHECKED OUT, AND THEY STATED I HAD A LEAK NEAR MY GAS CAP, SO THEY ADVISED ME TO PURCHASE A NEW GAS CAP, BECAUSE THE SUCTION WAS GO ON THE OLD ONE, I DID THAT, AND THE NEXT DAY, I THOUGH CAME BACK ON, I WENT BACK TO THEM, AND THEY STATED THAT THE WAY THAT THE LEAK IS, OVERTIME I GOT GAS, I WOULD NEED TO PUSH IN THE CAP AND THAT SHOULD SEAL IT. NEEDLESS TO SAY THAT DIDN'T WORK, IT BEEN MONTHS LATER AND I HAVE HAD FOUR DIFFERENT PARTS RELATED ON THE VEHICLE THAT DID NOT NEED REPLACING AND MY LIGHT IS STILL ON! TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT PERFORMED REGULAR MAINTENANCE ON THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE FRONT DRIVE SIDE AXLE LEAKED GREASE AND THE CB BOOT WAS CRACKED ON BOTH SIDES. IN ADDITION, THE INNER BALL JOINT HAD PREMATURE WEAR AND THE TRANSMISSION OPERATED IN HIGH GEAR WHEN DRIVING. THE WHEELS WERE DIFFICULT TO TURN AS WELL. WHILE DRIVING A HIGHWAY ON 65 MPH SUDDEN LOSS OF ACCELERATION OCCURS. PRESSING THE ACCELERATION PEDAL DOES NOT MAKE ANY EFFECT ON A CAR SPEED. RPM FALLS TO 1-2K AND DID NOT GOES UP. WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND STOP. AFTER 15 MINUTES WITH THE ENGINE TURNED OFF, PROBLEM DISAPPEARS. THIS HAPPENED FOR THE THIRD TIME, AS A PREVIOUSLY,IT OCCURS AFTER A LONG DRIVE (MORE THAN 3 HOURS) OR ON A HIGH SPEED (MORE THAN 75 MPH). THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE WHEN ACCELERATING. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME AND SINCE THEN IT HAS HAPPENED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS NOT BEEN ON AT ALL IT RANDOMLY OCCURS. IT SEEMS THAT IT WOULD BE AN EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS SITUATION FOR A VEHICLE TO HESITATE IN REGARDS TO ACCELERATION. IT IS ANYWHERE FROM A 2-10 SECOND DELAY. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM A REPUTABLE USED CAR DEALER USED. THE VEHICLE SEEMED OK VERY NICE INTERIOR EXTERIOR APPEARANCE. ON THE TEST DRIVE THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO SECOND OR THIRD , THE DEALER AGREED TO PAY FOR A TRANSMISSION FLUSH. THE NEXT DAY WHEN I GOT I N THE CAR TO DRIVE TO THE NISSAN DEALER TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION SERVICE DONE, I NOTICED THE VEHICLE BEING ERRATIC, IT FELT LIKE A TIRE OUT OF ROUND OR A SUSPENSION ISSUE. WHEN I GOT TO THE DEALER I NOTICED THE BRAND NEW TIRES THE DEALER HAD INSTALLED WERE WORN ON THE OUTSIDE. SO I HAD THEM CHECK IT OUT , THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF ALIGNMENT. THEN I NOTICED THE OIL THAT HAD BEEN PUT IN THE VEHICLE WAS WRONG 10W20 INSTEAD OF 10W30. WHILE AT THE NISSAN DEALER THEY PERFORMED THE RECALL ON THE HARNESS IN THE DOOR. THEY ALSO NOTICED THE TIRES LOW AND PERFORMED AND ALIGNMENT. AFTER THE TRANSMISSION FLUSH AND FILL, THEY ALSO DID THE ECM UPDATES. I NOTICED THE VEHICLE WAS STILL DOING THE SAME THING IT WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO 2ND SOMETIMES OR THIRD. THE NEXT DAY. THE TPMS LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. NISSAN NEEDS TO BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LACK OF QUALITY AND REPAIR THESE MAJOR PROBLEMS THAT HAVE BEEN REPORTED BY NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS. I AM STUCK WITH A LEMON OF A CAR, BECAUSE MY FINANCE COMPANY WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO BUY WHAT I WANTED, I HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS VEHICLE FOR 6 YEARS, AND I AM AFRAID I GOT STUCK. CAR TRANSMISSION MAKES WHINING SOUND. AS YOU DRIVE UP AN INCLINE IT GETS WORSE. CAR SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING. YOU ARE FORCED TO PULL OVER AS YOU HAVE NO POWER. AFTER 5 -10 MINUTES THE CAR WILL START UP AGAIN. CAR WAS BROUGHT TO NISSAN AND THEY WERE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THEY INSTALLED AN EXTERNAL OIL COOLER AS THEIR CVT TRANSMISSION HAS ISSUES WITH OVERHEATING. THIS IS MOST DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE AS THE CAR JUST SHUTS DOWN AND APPARENTLY THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM BY NISSAN. WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WA TO CA I NOTICED WHILE DRIVING UP THE GREAT VINE MY 2009 NISSAN ROGUE STARTED TO DECELERATE FROM 70 MPH TO 45-55 MPH, I HAD MY FOOT PRESSED PEDAL TO THE METAL WITH NO ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE JUST MADE IT BUT WHILE AT ANOTHER SLIGHT HILL MY VEHICLE DID THE SAME THING HOWEVER THIS TIME IT REDUCED TO SPEED THAT POSED A SAFETY CONCERN WHILE ON A HIGHWAY. THE SPEED DROPPED FROM 70 TO ABOUT 30 IN A MATTER OF SECONDS. MY INFANT SON AND WIFE WERE IN THE VEHICLE AS IT STARTED TO SHUT DOWN I MANAGED TO GET OUT OF THE HIGHWAY BUT NOT BEFORE WE HAD BIG RIGS AND OTHER VEHICLES SLOW DOWN OR CHANGE LANES TO AVOID A COLLISION. I WAS HIGHWAY DRIVING FOR 40 MILES WHEN MY NISSAN ROGUE STARTED TO GET LOOSE AND MAKE AN ODD NOISE WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES. THE RODE WAS DAMP IN PLACES, BUT NOT ENOUGH TO ENGAGE THE ANTI LOCK BRAKES. TRAVELING ON, IT WOULD OCCASIONALLY REPEAT THE NOISE AND WOBBLE. 60 MILES INTO THE TRIP, I WAS TRAVELING 55 MPH AND NOT APPLYING THE BRAKES WHEN THE STEERING GOT EXTREMELY WOBBLY AND I HAD LITTLE CONTROL OVER THE CAR. IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO EVEN PULL OVER. ONCE I GOT IT STOPPED, I CALLED FOR A TOW TRUCK AND HAD TO PULL UP TO READ A ROAD SIGN AND THE STEERING WAS STILL WOBBLY JUST PULLING FORWARD. ONE DAY, THERE WERE NO ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE. THE FOLLOWING DAY, WHEN ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE, THE CAR EXHIBITED EXTREMELY POOR ACCELERATION FROM A STOP (I.E. STARTING A CAR IN 4TH GEAR). THE CAR WOULD VERY SLOWLY ACCELERATE TO ~25MPH, THEN BEGIN TO PERFORM BETTER. CLEARING AN INTERSECTION FROM A STOPPED POSITION TOOK UP TO 5-10S LONGER THAN IT SHOULD HAVE. ALSO DETERMINED THAT THE CAR NO LONGER HAD FUNCTIONING BREAK LIGHTS. CAR WAS NOT SAFELY USABLE. SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL, BASED ON INTERNET SEARCHES. I WAS LEAVING A STORE AND GAS LIGHT CAME ON. I KNEW THAT I HAD FILL UP BEFORE ENTERING THE I-95 INTERSTATE AND I WAS A BIT PERPLEXED. I DROVE TO A GAS STATION AND FILLED UP ONCE AGAIN AND NOTICE THAT THE GAS GAUGE FILLED TO ITS CAPACITY. THIS OCCURRED A FEW MONTHS AGO AND I DISMISSED IT. ON 9/19/13, I STOPPED AT A GAS STATION AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. ON 9/20/13 I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK AND WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED A FUEL SENDING UNIT WHICH WOULD COST ME $1,087 WHICH INCLUDES PARTS AND LABOR. OF COURSE, I DECLINE TO REPAIR IT BECAUSE AT THAT TIME I WAS FRUSTRATED WITH NISSAN AND WAS THINKING ABOUT TRADING IN THE CAR. PREVIOUSLY, I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK ON TWO OCCASIONS FOR TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WHICH I WAS GRATEFUL THAT IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION AND TREATED THIS INCIDENT AN OCCURRING PROBLEM WITH 09 ROGUE. I ONLY HAVE THIS VEHICLE FOR 1.5 YEARS AND I AM FEARFUL EACH TIME THAT I DRIVE. EVEN THE TRIPLE A YOUNG MAN TOLD ME TO GET RID OF IT BECAUSE WITHIN THE LAST MONTH HE HAS TO TOW QUITE A FEW. MY COMMUTE ON INTERSTATE EACH DAY IS WORRISOME BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT. NOW I AM STUCK WITH A NEW PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE THAT I AM STILL PAYING FOR AND SPENDING MORE MONEY ON GAS BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHAT CAN HAPPEN . PLEASE WE MUST DO SOMETHING WITH THIS COMPANY NISSAN. I PLACED A COMPLAINT TODAY 9/23/13 AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD CALL ME BACK SINCE THEY DON'T HAVE ANY INFORMATION WITH THIS TYPE OF RECALL. (LIARS) THEY ARE LOTS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE FUEL SENDING UNIT ON NISSANS. I AM NOT CERTAIN IF I WILL CONTINUE TO MAKE PAYMENTS ON A CAR THAT I TRULY FEEL UNSAFE WITH OR WRITE OFF MY LOSS AND LOOK FOR ANOTHER VEHICLE. EITHER WAY, I HAD TO WRITE THIS COMPLAINT SINCE I HAVE NEVER FELT SO UNSAFE DRIVING A VEHICLE.

MY CAR WAS IN GARAGE RUNNING IN PARK. STEPPED OUT OF VEHICLE , WAS STANDING OUTSIDE DOOR. CAR SHOT BACKWARD OUT OF GARAGE, ONTO DRIVEWAY. NEVER SAW ANYTHING LIKE IT. MAKE A SHARP TURN WITH BACK END COMING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AND FACING TO THE RIGHT OF MY GARAGE. (MY TWO LEGS RUN OVER BY THE VEHICLE AS IT TURNED AROUND). CAR PROCEEDED TO TURN FORWARD DOWN HILL OVER FRONT OF MY YARD AND STOPPING IN MY NEIGHBORS EMPTY LOT NEXT TO THEIR HOUSE. COMING TO A STOP AFTER HITTING A TREE. AFTER LOOKING IN VEHICLE AFTER IT STOPPED, CAR WAS IN PARKED GEAR. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LOW PRESSURE SENSOR WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE TIRE NUT AND ONE OF THE TIRE PRESSURE SENSORS BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PERFORMED REPAIRS UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 09V393000 (TIRES:PRESSURE MONITORING AND REGULATING SYSTEMS), BUT DENIED ANY ASSISTANCE WHEN THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED A SECOND TIME AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,920 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES DURING SNOWY WEATHER CONDITIONS, THE BRAKES WOULD NOT ENGAGE SPORADICALLY. THE FAILURE WOULD ONLY OCCUR DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT WOULD NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,900 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 10387.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING 8 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL, GEAR SHIFTER, AND BRAKES ALL LOCK UP AT THE SAME TIME. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IF FELT AS IF THE VEHICLE HAD SHUT OFF. HE HAD TO APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. WHEN HE TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, IT OPERATED NORMALLY. THE DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE, BUT COULD NOT DETERMINE WHY THE BRAKES, STEERING, AND GEAR SHIFTER LOCKED UP. THE CONTACT REFUSES TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE UNTIL THE MANUFACTURER HAS LOCATED THE FAILURE AND DECLARES IT SAFE TO DRIVE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 4,500 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,500.
