I have a 2010 Nissan Rouge that is having powertrain issues, specifically the CVT, three times, after driving a long distance in very hot weather, and then going on a long uphill grade, the vehicle lost power. It dropped from 70 to about 40mph, this happened on two interstates along the same stretch and a third time on a California state highway. I did some research and found that this is a common problem with the Rogues powertrain's CVT over several years and there was also a class action lawsuit for some years of this Rogue, but not for a 2010. Nissan did pay for some repairs on other years to the lawsuit claimants.

The transmission/power train on this vehicle is experiencing common failures as reported by many owners. On my way to work, my Nissan Rogue began to stall and lose speed while on the highway. The speed decreased from 70 mph down to 50 mph. Approximately 5 minutes way from work, my vehicle barely accelerated through 4 way stop while making left turn which posed a high risk with on coming traffic headed in my direction I had my vehicle inspected by my ASE certified mechanic and was informed that my Rogue prompted transmission failure code. He (Dale Baca, Alternative Auto Care in Thornton, CO) also informed me that this was a recurring issue with my Nissan Rogue as well as other Nissans with the CVT transmission. No indication of failure or warning lamps was given on my dashboard on the day of July 28th, 2023.

While driving the vehicle at average highway speeds for over one hour approximately, the CVT transmission fluid overheats, and an engine code PO744 is set. This code is followed by reduction in engine power and speed limited to a safe mode of 25 mph. The danger of being rear-ended while attempting to safely exit the freeways here in California is high. This has happened multiple times on different roadways, uphill, downhill, and through the desert Nissan has many technical service bulletins, but no recalls. A CVT for this 2010 is $4000 or more, later models received a CVT fluid cooler, this year it's almost $1400 to install with no hopes the CVT will hold up.

The Nissan Rogue is my 16 year old sons car. He was on a main road with his younger sister and a friend when he slowed down to turn a corner and as he pushed gas the car began to jerk violently then there was a bang and a click noise the car stayed running but was unable to accelerate he tried putting it in park and it started rolling away… 4 other bystanders had to help push the vehicle out of the way so a total of 7 people were pushing car off main road into a parking lot. Had someone look at it in that parking lot. It is something to do with the CVT transmission. Had to have it towed to my home to see if it can be repaired. Or if I wasted my money. Either way definitely have to get rid of it due to the danger. There was 3 teens in this car and they could have been seriously injured in this car when it broke down on a major street or when they were pushing it into a parking lot. By the grace of god my kids and their friend are safe. After this I would never buy another Nissan for the fact that I was terrified that they could’ve been seriously injured for a CVT transmission that has had numerous complaints and issues. It is definitely not safe for anyone, let alone a new teenage driver My son also told me that 2 weeks ago he was at a stop sign tried to accelerate when car would not move then it started jerking forward and finally drove normal. After that it could not be replicated until yesterday when it had incident on main road.

The contact owns a 2010 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while the vehicle was started and running, her husband sat in the driver's side seat and wiped the center console, and without warning, the driver’s and passenger’s side curtain air bags inadvertently deployed. The contact mentioned all the doors of the vehicle were closed during the incident. The driver sustained ear and emotional injuries. Medical attention was not needed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 146,000.

Vehicle was involved in crash on 4/11/2023. the vehicle left the right side of the road, driver overcorrected and lost control of vehicle and vehicle flipped 3 times before ending up on the roof, slid into an embankment on opposite side of the road which sent it airborne back into the highway. the vehicle is a complete loss, damage all the way around the car, all glass except drivers side window was busted out, front end was 60 yards down the road, motor mounts broke and motor moved, wheels broken, doors were moved and crushed in spots, roof and frame bent, etc. Driver lived thankfully. The major problem is that all the airbags deployed (curtain bags all the way around, both seat airbags) EXCEPT the steering wheel airbag and the passenger dash air bag. These are the 2 major airbags that should have deployed ina collision like this. I want Nissan to investigate why these did not employ.

I was driving along at 50 mh and all the sudden drops down to 30 mp and even thought I push peddle to floor it won't go above 40 mh and starts trying to cut off this has happened a few times to me as well as my mom who drove my car. This is a serious safety issue that needs to be addressed ..

MY CAR IS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE AFTER STOPPING. THIS IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS AS I HAVE HAD CLOSE CALLS FOR BEING IN SEVERAL ACCIDENTS. I AM SCARED TO DEATH TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE ANYWHERE BUT I HAVE NO CHOICE AS THIS IS MY ONLY VEHICLE. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2020 AND HAVE CHILDREN THAT ARE IN THE CAR WITH ME. I HAVE NEVER FEARED FOR OUR SAFETY IN ANY VEHICLE THAT I HAVE OWNED PREVIOUSLY. THE RPM'S ALSO GO HIGH AND SWITCHES GEARS ONLY WHEN I LET OFF THE GAS. THESE ARE PROBLEMS THAT HAVE EVERY TIME THAT I DRIVE THE VEHICLE. AS A SINGLE MOM I'M AT MY WHITT'S END AND NEED THIS PROBLEM FIXED FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY.

THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED I WAS DRIVING TO LEXINGTON FROM CHARLESTON AND ABOUT ONE HOUR AND 1/2 THE CAR WOULDN'T GO ANY FASTER AND THEN IT STARTED DROPPING SPEED PRETTY FAST , IT DROPPED ALL THE WAY TO 35 MPH, I HAD MY DAUGHTER IN THE CAR WITH ME SHE WAS SCARED TO DEATH SOMEONE WAS GOING TO HIT US, I PULLED ONTO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND SAT FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES STARTED IT BACK UP AND KEPT MY SPEED ABOUT 65MPH, AND IT WAS OKAY. IT JUST HAPPENED THIS WEEKEND WHEN I WAS DRIVING FROM CHARLESTON TO CHARLOTTE, ABOUT 45 MINUTES AWAY THE CAR WOULDNT GO ANY FASTER AND IT STARTED DROPPING SPEED FAST, HAD THE PETAL TO THE FLOOR AND NOTHING. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE AND LET IT SIT FOR A FEW MINUTES POPPED THE HOOD IT WAS NOT RUNNING HOT. I THEN PULLED OFF AGAIN TO TRY TO GET TO A GAS STATION AND IT STARTED UP AND THEN ABOUT 2 MINUTES PASSED AND IT WOULDNT GO ANY FASTER, PULLED OFF ON THE EXIT AND BARLEY MADE IT TO THE GAS STATION, THIS TIME I LET IT SIT FOR A GOOD 30 MINUTES OR SO. I THEN GOT BACK ON THE HWY BUT WOULDN'T GO OVER 65MPH AND IT WAS OKAY. THIS IS KNOWN ISSUE AND IT SEEMS LIKE NISSAN IS AWARE BUT THEY ARE DOING NOTHING TO FIX IT.. MY 2010 NISSAN ROUGE HAS 79,000 MILES AND WAS RECENTLY PURCHASED LESS THAN 3 MONTHS AGO. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MY CAR SUDDENLY WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST 55MPH. I WOULD PUSH THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR BUT IT STILL WOULD NOT ACCELERATE.I THEN PULLED OVER & LIFTED THE HOOD BUT THERE WAS NO OBVIOUS SIGNS AND THE CAR WAS NOT OVERHEATED. I LET THE CAR REST AND THEN GOT BACK ON THE HIGHWAY BUTHE ISSUE STILL CONTINUED.WHILE RESEARCHING ONLINE I REALIZED THAT THERE ARE NUMEROUS 2010 NISSAN ROUGE OWNERS WHO HAVE BEEN HAVING THE SAME EXACT ISSUE FOR YEARS NOW. I live in Colorado and on one than more occasion I have been driving at elevation (crossing a mountain pass) and the vehicle loses any power to the gas - the pedal is literally on the floor but car loses speed. The last time this happened (this past May), I was trying to climb one of the passes, and my car would not go faster than 35mph, in an area with a minimum 60mph speed limit. I had to move into the shoulder so semi trucks could pass me. I can't believe this hasn't been a recall issue - if you Google this problem, you will find many Nissan owners (particularly early Rogue models) complaining of this exact issue. It is incredibly dangerous and if this is a mechanism of the vehicle (a heat or elevation issue), it should never have been sold in mountain or desert regions. Regardless, Nissan should be fixing this problem at no charge to the customer.

THE POLICE PULLED THE DRIVER OVER DUE TO THE VEHICLE REVERSING IN THE INTERSTATE WHEN SUDDENLY THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CONTACTED AND EXTINGUISHED THE FLAMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY THE POLICE TO A LOT WHERE IT WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. NO DEALER WAS CONTACTED. THE CONTACT BELIEVED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V401000 (EQUIPMENT) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE THAT OCCURRED HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED WITH THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 179,000.

Upon my husband going to start the vehicle in the morning, he smelled an electrical fire. The door was locked which was odd so he attempted to use the key fob to unlock and it did not work. He went around to the passenger side door and it opened. To his surprise the interior of the vehicle smelled very strongly of smoke and the windows were black. He was able to get the drivers side door open to realize that the left side of the dash was completely melted along with the fuse box, hood latch, the door, the floor mat, the carpet, the headliner and everything on that side was burned/melted. The heat from the fire shattered the windshield. The vehicle was driven the day prior with no inclination of any problems and was parked in the driveway for the night. A phone call was made to Nissan and a case number was provided.

I PULLED OVER, TURNED THE CAR OFF, GRABBED MY PURSE AND RAN. 2 GOOD SAMARITANS PULLED OVER AND JUST HAPPENED TO HAVE A FIRE EXTINGUISHER AND WERE ABLE TO PUT IT OUT. VEHICLE WAS AT 109500 MILES, OIL CHANGE 6 MONTHS PRIOR AND DUE FOR OIL CHANGE AT 110000 MILES. NO IRREGULAR NOISES AND NO WARNING LIGHTS. WAS DRIVING IN THE CITY FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES AND ON HIGHWAY FOR FIVE MORE MINUTES. NOTICED BURNING SMELL IN CITY BUT WAS BEHIND A TRUCK AND DISMISSED IT AS THERE WERE NO SIGNS OF PROBLEMS IN MY CAR. ABOUT FIVE MINUTES LATER, ON I-90 EB IN MT BAKER TUNNEL, NOTICED FLAMES COMING OUT OF THE FRONT LEFT HOOD. PULLED OVER AND CALLED 911. WSDOT RESPONDED TO INCIDENT, AND GEICO DEEMED CAR A TOTAL LOSS. NISSAN SENT INSPECTOR WHO SAID THEY DID NOT FIND MANUFACTURER DEFECT. GEICO INSPECTOR SAID THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE DUE TO EXTENT OF DAMAGE.

THIS STARTED HAPPENING RIGHT AFTER THE LAST RECALL FEB 2016. WAS GOING AT 65 MPH LITTLE UPHILL (FROM 1200 FEET TO 2200 FEET) THEN THE SPEED STARTED DROPPING FROM 65MPH TO LESS THAN 30MPH ON A BUSY CALIFORNIA I-15 FREEWAY. I HAD TO PULL THE CAR FROM THE FAR LEFT LANE (5 LANES EACH WAY) TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER WHERE I STOPPED FOR ABOUT 35 MINUTES THEN STARTED THE CAR AGAIN. IT HAPPENED AT LEAST 4 TIMES SINCE THEY MESSED UP MY CAR IN THE LAST RECALL. OTHER ISSUE I EXPERIENCED WAS WHEN I STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT AND TRIED TO MOVE, IT BARELY MOVED THEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN IT JUMPED, IT WAS VERY RISKY. I WAS DRIVING 80 MPH WITH TRAFFIC ON A HEAVILY CONGESTED HWY - I-4 WHEN THE TRANSMISSION STOPPED WORKING. THERE HAD BEEN A HIGH PITCHED WHINE DURING THE LAST HOUR OF TRAVEL AND THE CAR JUST STARTED DECELERATING. AIR TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE WAS APPROX. 80 DEGREES. THERE WAS A SMELL POSSIBLY OF LEAKING FLUID. TOOK TO DEALER AND THERE IS A KNOWN TRANSMISSION PROBLEM ON NISSAN VEHICLES WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION CAUSING THEM TO OVERHEAT, ETC. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL, NOT AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ISSUE. WHEN THE CVT TRANSMISSION GETS HOT THE POWER FROM ENGINE TO TRANSMISSION BEGINS TO REDUCE. THIS SAFETY FEATURE LEADS TO MASSIVE FUEL CONSUMPTION AS WELL AS COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAS CAUSED MYSELF TO BE STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF INTERSECTIONS ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THIS "SAFETY FEATURE" DIDN'T START DOING THIS UNTIL 50 MILES PAST THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. CURRENTLY MY ROGUE IS AROUND 150K MILES AND I CAN'T GO MORE THAN 20 MILES BEFORE IT HAPPENS. I TOOK THE ROGUE INTO SHOPS FOR A FULL TUNE-UP EVERY30K MILES TRYING TO BE SURE IT LAST FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE, SO I KNOW IT ISN'T AN ISSUE OF NEGLECT. I HAVE RESEARCHED ONLINE TRYING TO FIND A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM AND ALL I HAVE FOUND ARE THOUSANDS OF OTHER OWNERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. SOME OWNERS HAVE HAD THE PROBLEM BEGIN AS EARLY AS THE 10K MARK. SINCE THE INTRODUCTION OF THE CVT TRANSMISSION EVERY VEHICLE IT IS USED IN HAS THIS PROBLEM. NISSAN NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM BEFORE IT CAUSES A DEATH FROM PURE NEGLECT ON THEIR PART. I'VE OWNED 4 NISSAN VEHICLES AND LOVED THEM ALL BUT HIS IS THE FIRST ONE I HAD THAT DIDN'T MAKE IT PAST 100K MILES BEFORE HAVING A MAJOR ISSUE.

I BOUGHT A NEW 2010 NISSAN ROGUE SL AWD IN JULY 2010. AT ABOUT 50-60K MILES, THE ENGINE WOULD CUT OFF IF I CAME TO AN ABRUPT STOP AFTER TRAVELING ABOUT 60-65MPH AND THEN BRAKING ' AT A RED LIGHT FOR INSTANCE. I HAVE ALSO HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE CAR NOT ACCELERATING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN PRESSING ON THE GAS. THIS HAPPENED FEW TIMES AND I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT, WHO SAID THEY COULD NOT IDENTIFY A PROBLEM AFTER DOING A TEST DRIVE. WE HAVE A 2010 NISSAN ROUGE THAT WILL BE DRIVING FINE THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT STARTS DECELERATING TO LESS THAN 70 MPH ON A BUSY INTERSTATE. EVEN TRYING TO PUSH THE GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY DOWN DOES NOT DO ANYTHING. WE PURCHASED THIS NISSAN FOR OUR CHILD TO DRIVE TO COLLEGE BECAUSE WE THOUGHT IT WOULD BE SAFE. ONE WEEK AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR, I TOOK IT ON THE HIGHWAY WHERE THE SPEED LIMIT IS 75 MPH. AFTER ABOUT AN HOUR THE SPEED SLOWED TO 65, THEN 60, THEN 50 ETC., EVEN THO THE GAS PEDAL IS TO THE FLOOR. WHILE DRIVING MY WIFES 2010 NISSAN ROGUE SL FWD IS SHOWED 62 MILES LEFT BEFORE EMPTY ON THE FUEL GAUGE. THE CAR DIED ON A WINDING BACK COUNTRY ROAD WHICH IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS IF SOMEONE WERE TO COME OVER A BLIND HILL AND HIT US. THE CAR SUDDENLY STOPPED RUNNING, I LOST ALL POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. GOT THE CAR STOPPED AND HAD TO CALL THE POLICE TO COME OUT AND FLAG DOWN ON-COMING TRAFFIC THAT WE WERE STOPPED AHEAD. THE CAR WOULD TURN OVER BUT NOT START, ACTING AS IF IT WERE OUT OF GAS EVEN THOUGHT THE FUEL GAUGE SAID 60 MILES TO EMPTY. HAD TO GET A RIDE TO GET FUEL AND CAR STARTED RIGHT UP. THIS OBVIOUSLY SHOWS THAT THE FUEL SENDING UNIT OR GAUGE IS NOT CALIBRATED PROPERLY AND CAUSED A WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS OR DEADLY SITUATION. I BOUGHT NISSAN ROGUE 2010 WITH A CLEAN TITLE IN DECEMBER OF 2013. I STARTED HAVING SERIOUS PROBLEMS WITH MY CAR IN THE SPRING OF 2014. I BEGAN HEARING A WHINING SOUND ON ACCELERATION COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION WHILE DRIVING ON LONG ROAD TRIPS. I DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT UP UNTIL A YEAR LATER, WAS SUDDENLY UNABLE TO ACCELERATE WHEN GOING UP HILL OR DRIVING LONGER THAN 20 MILES. THE PEDAL WAS DOWN TO THE FLOOR BUT RATHER THAN PICK UP SPEED, THE VEHICLE WOULD DECELERATE AND WAS UNABLE TO REACH EVEN 40 MPH. IT STARTED HAPPENING MORE AND MORE OFTEN, AND I ALMOST GOT INTO A CAR ACCIDENT SEVERAL TIMES. I WENT TO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS AND FOUND OUT THAT NISSAN WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM WITH THEIR CVTS AND THAT THEY EXTENDED THE WARRANTY TO 10 YEARS/120,000 MPH. HOWEVER, THEY WERE REFUSING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT BECAUSE THERE WAS NO WAY TO DUPLICATE IT SINCE IT WOULD TAKE SEVERAL MILES OF DRIVING AROUND TO NOTICE ACCELERATION FAILURE. THE WHINING SOUND AND VIBRATION ARE NORMAL I WAS TOLD. AFTER GOING TO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS MULTIPLE TIMES AND TALKING WITH NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES, IN DECEMBER 2016 I WAS FINALLY TOLD THAT THERE'S NO EXTENDED WARRANTY ON MY VEHICLE BECAUSE NISSAN CANCELED MY CAR'S WARRANTY BACK IN 2014 BECAUSE OF A BRANDED TITLE. I CALLED DOL AND FOUND OUT THERE WAS A MISTAKE DONE. THEY FIXED MY TITLE AND THERE'S NO BRAND ON IT. NOW I GOT A CALL FROM A NISSAN CUSTOMER AFFAIR REP MR DARIES WHO INFORMED ME THAT THEY ARE WORKING ON GETTING THE BRAND OFF OF MY TITLE AND IT SHOULD TAKE 4-6 WEEKS BUT THEY ARE TRYING TO EXPEDITE IT. HE PROMISED HE WOULD CALL ME REGULARLY WITH AN UPDATE. IT'S BEEN ALMOST TWO MONTHS AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. I CALLED SEVERAL TIMES LEAVING VOICEMAIL TO MR DARIES AND NEVER GOT A CALL BACK FROM HIM. I LIVE IN ARIZONA, SO TRAVELING FROM PHOENIX TO FLAGSTAFF IS AT AN INCLINE AT PHOENIX IS ROUGHLY 3000 FEET ABOVE SEA LEVEL AND FLAGSTAFF IS 7000. THE INCLINE HAPPENS JUST OVER 140 MILES, SO IT'S QUITE A CLIMB. THE CAR LOSSES ALL ACCELERATION ABILITY ON EACH AND EVERY INCLINE, FORCING ME TO FIND A SHOULDER (IF I CAN), WHERE I HAVE TO SHUT THE CAR OFF FOR ABOUT FIVE MINUTES BEFORE TRYING AGAIN. MAGICALLY, THE CAR REGAINS SOME ACCELERATION, BUT IT QUICKLY HAPPENS AGAIN. THIS IS ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS DUE THE THE CLIFF EDGES OR ROCK WALLS THAT LINE THIS ROAD. WHEN I COME TO A ALMOST SUDDEN STOP ON THIS TWO LANE HIGHWAY WHEN I JUST WENT AROUND A BLIND CORNER, THAT MEANS THAT I DON'T HAVE TIME TO ALERT THE CARS BEHIND ME THAT I AM AT A COMPLETE STOP. I HAVE HAD MANY CLOSE ENCOUNTERS LIKE THIS. I HAVE TRIED TO ASK THE DEALERS, MECHANICS AND TALK FORUMS ON THE SITUATION. The passenger side airbag light never goes off no matter who is sitting in the seat I think the weight sensor in the seat is broken. I just noticed that the light wasn't off when I had an adult in the passenger seat one day and still is the same. The light is sopost to go off if someone is in the seat. The light has been like this for over a year now.

The airbag light is flashing and my husband has tried the solution that was told would stop it. Did not work. Had the car put on a scanner and the results were the passenger seat airbag has a defective part. Dealership wants over 2000.00 to fix problem. It was a recall for the problem but doesn't include the year 2010. I don't have money to have this fixed. Safety issues don't have airbag on passenger side...

BOTH LIGHTS ON THE DASH CAME ON SHOWING THE AIR BAG WOULD NOT WORK IF THE ROGUE WAS INVOLVED IN A ACCIDENT. I TOOK THE ROGUE TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE CENSOR'S IN THE PASSENGER SEAT WERE NOT WORKING AND WOULD NOT DEPLOY. THE DEALERSHIP CLEARED THE CODES AND RETESTED AND THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH WENT OUT. THREE DAYS LATER THEY CAME BACK ON. I WENT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS ADVISE THAT THE CENSOR'S WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. I THEN TOOK THE ROGUE TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP. I ADVISED THEM OF WHAT WAS DONE AT THE PREVIOUS DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT WAS THE PROPER PROCEDURE. I WAS ALSO ASK WHO RODE THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND WHAT THEIR WEIGHT WAS. I ADVISED THEM MY WIFE RODE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT 99% OF THE TIME AND 126 LBS. WAS HER WEIGHT. I WAS THEN TOLD HER WEIGHT COULD BE PART OF THE PROBLEM? SEVERAL TIME THE CAR HAS NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY FROM A STOPPED POSITION. I WOULD PRESS THE GAS ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE UNTIL SUDDENLY IT SEEMED TO "CATCH". Safety put at risk due to horn not being able to work and the primary reason for this complaint is the engine. The car stopped accelerating, which was resolved, but then the car would no longer go in reverse!!! It is unknown why this has happened. We suspected the CVT prior to even learning of the CVT class action lawsuit. Please advise! Thank you for your time and consideration!

I HAVE A 2010 NISSAN ROGUE THAT HAS 60,000 MILES AND THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS IT HAS BEGAN TO LOSE SPEED WHEN ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 65MPH. THE DEALER CHARGED ME $1800.00 TO CHANGE DIRTY TRANSMISSION FLUID. PROBLEM IS BACK AGAIN AT 112,000 MILES. THERE IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS THAT IS "DANGEROUS". I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE STOP LIGHT SWITCH IN THE COMPUTERIZED ENGINE OF MY ROGUE. THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE IN A NORMAL TIME FRAME FROM 0-15 MILES PER HOUR, 6-7 SECONDS TO RESPOND. While parked and waiting for drive-thru service, my Nissan Rogue began to smoke and immediately turned into flames under the hood. There was no malfunction or problems before this incident. Approximately 15 minutes prior to the incident, the driver stopped and filled truck with gas. After driving from the gas station, the driver went approximately 10 miles for food, where the car began smoking, and flames coming from under the hood. There were no warning signs, messages or malfunctions prior to this incident. The car was running quietly and smoothly and had not encountered any problems prior to the incident.

I was driving the vehicle and stopped at a Sonic drive thru. I shifted the car into park and I began to hear a very loud creaking noise. When I shifted the car into drive, the car wouldn’t move. I called a Firestone mechanic and he concluded that it was the CV belt that is connected to the transmission. Regardless, only a transmission shop could handle this issue. I called CARMAX AUTO, and spoke with a JASON HEWITT. Mr Hewitt informed me that CarMax will have a tow truck come get the car. The following day, the car was towed by CarMax to Amaco for an official diagnostic. I was notified the following day that my vehicle had a damaged axle and appears to have been cause by a “car accident.” Mr Hewitt told me to file a claim in my insurance. I told Mr Hewitt that most likely the tow company damaged my axle. He stated he didnt know what exactly caused it but they will not be able to address the transmission issue until this axle and converter is paid for. Additionally, I’ve had the car for 14 months and 6 months into my lease agreement, the check engine light came and stayed on due the catalytic converter. The air and heat stopped working in September of 2023.

I ACQUIRED A 2010 NISSAN ROGUE SL AWD, WITH LOW MILEAGE, IN OCTOBER 2019. IN EARLY OCTOBER 2020 ABOUT 20 MILES OUTSIDE OF WASHINGTON, DC TRAVELING FROM NC THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO VIOLENTLY SHAKE. OF COURSE THIS UNNERVED ME. I STOPPED TWICE TO VISUALLY AND MANUALLY CHECK THE TIRE AIR PRESSURE USING A PRESSURE GAUGE. NO PROBLEM WITH THE PRESSURE. ONCE IN DC I WENT TO A SERVICE STATION/MECHANIC SHOP IN MARYLAND AND HAD THE MECHANIC CHECK THE PROBLEM. HE CHECKED THE TIRE PRESSURE AND FILLED ALL TIRES WITH AN ADDITIONAL 5 POUNDS OF AIR (FROM 35 TO 40) AND STATED THAT THE WOBBLING WOULD LIKELY NOT CAUSE ANY SERIOUS PROBLEM BUT THE ADDITIONAL AIR SHOULD CURED. THE ADDED AIR SEEMED TO HAVE WORKED. WITHIN A COUPLE OF DAYS I WAS BACK ON THE HIGHWAY HEADED SOUTH. I REALIZED THE PROBLEM HAD NOT GONE AWAY. I DETERMINED THAT AT LOW CITY SPEEDS THE PROBLEM DID NOT PRESENT ITSELF. THE PROBLEM SURFACES WHEN AT HIGHER HIGHWAY SPEEDS, MOSTLY WHEN THE BRAKE IS ENGAGED. SINCE BEING BACK IN CONCORD, NC I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE PLACE ON A LIFT, AT A NON-DEALER SHOP, AND CHECKED. THE MECHANIC DROVE MY VEHICLE AND COULD NOT FIND ANY OTHER ISSUES. HE SUGGESTED THAT I PURCHASE FOUR NEW TIRES, CITING THAT ALTHOUGH THERE IS STILL SUFFICIENT TREAD THE TIRES MAY HAVE AN INTERNAL ISSUE. I SPOKE TO ANOTHER MECHANIC WHO SUGGESTED THAT A 'TIE ROD' MAY BE THE PROBLEM. ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 2020 I HAD PLANS TO PURCHASE NEW TIRES. AFTER SEEING THE WSOC NEWS OF SIMILAR EXPERIENCES OF OTHERS, I WILL FIRST TAKE MY VEHICLE TO A NISSAN DEALER FOR EVALUATION AND DOCUMENTATION. AT THIS TIME I DON'T HAVE ANY DOCUMENTATION TO SUBMIT.

I HAVE CHILDREN TO KEEP SAFE. THE ELECTRICAL PART IS THAT MY VEHICLE HESITATES TO NEARLY A STALL, ESPECIALLY IN IDLE AT SAY STOPLIGHTS. JUST RECENTLY I WATCHED A NEWS PROGRAM THAT SHOWED THAT MANY SUNROOFS ARE EXPLODING DUE TO FLAWS IN THE GLASS. THE COST OF THE REPAIR WAS UNDER MY DEDUCTIBLE, COSTING ME $303.35 TO REPLACE. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 75 MPH FOR AROUND 30-40 MINUTES WHEN THE CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING AND BEGAN DECELERATING. I HAD MY FOOT ALL THE WAY DOWN ON THE GAS PEDDLE AND IT JUST KEPT LOSING SPEED. LUCIKLY I WAS ABLE TO COAST INTO THE RIGHT LANE, BECAUSE I WANTED TO GET INTO THE BREAKDOWN LANE WHEN THE CAR FINALLY BEGAN TO ACCELERATE AGAIN. THE CAR BEGAN ACTING NORMAL AFTER THAT UNTIL I GOT OFF THE EXIT RAMP ABOUT 10 MINS LATER. I STOPPED AT THE END OF THE RAMP AND WHEN IT WAS MY TURN TO GO THE CAR HAD AGAIN NO POWER. I HAVE BEEN LOOKING ONLINE AND HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE, BUT NISSAN REFUSES TO FILE ANY KIND OF RECALL. THE FIRST TIME THE INCIDENT HAPPENED I WAS EXITING THE EXPRESSWAY AND AFTER STOPPING AT A RED LIGHT THE CAR STARTED TO MAKE A WEIRD NOISE. ON THE WAY BACK TO GA THE CAR BEGAN THE ISSUES AGAIN AND WHILE TRYING TO PULL OFF THE CAR DECREASED IN SPEED SO QUICKLY I WAS ALMOST HIT BY A SEMI-TRUCK. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR IN FOR THE ELECTRICAL RECALL THAT DID NOT HELP. THE CAR HAS HAD TWO COMPLETE TUNE UPS NOR HAS NOT WORKED. I REFUSE TO PAY OUT OF MY POCKET FOR ANOTHER TRANSMISSION; WHICH HAS NOT AIDED OTHERS IN THIS SAME SITUATION. I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS FOR A YEAR. STRAIGHT OUT THE LOT 13 MILES ON IT WHEN I PURCHASED IT. MY CAR WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY. I HAD ARRIVED HOME AT 3:30PM ON A SATURDAY. THE NEXT MORNING AT 10:00AM, I WENT TO MY CAR TO FIND THAT SOMETHING HAD EXPLODED INSIDE. THERE HAD BEEN A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF FIRE DAMAGE TO THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE, INCLUDING THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT, THE DASH, AND THE LOCATION OF THE AIRBAG. MY BEST GUESS AS TO WHAT HAPPENED IS THAT THE AIRBAG EXPLODED (NOT DEPLOYED), CAUSING A FIRE, WHICH DAMAGED THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, AND CAUSED A LOT OF COSMETIC DAMAGE. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE OF THE AIRBAG, OTHER THAN SOME SPRINGS, IT DOES NOT LOOK LIKE IT SIMPLY DEPLOYED. THE INSURANCE COMPANY HAS DEEMED IT A TOTAL LOSS. I FEEL THAT THIS IS SOMETHING THAT NISSAN SHOULD COVER, NOT ME OR MY INSURANCE COMPANY. BUT I CANNOT DETERMINE WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED OR HOW TO PURSUE LEGAL ACTION AGAINST THEM. THANKFULLY, NO ONE WAS INJURED. I HAVE NO IDEA WHY THE DIRE WAS SELF-CONTAINED, AND THE ENTIRE CAR DIDN'T EXPLODE. *TR

2010 ROGUE HAS REPEATED PROBLEMS WITH ACCELERATION. SPECIFICALLY FROM A STOPPED POSITION. AND WHEN ON A HILL, IF YOU ARE STOPPED, IT WON'T ACCELERATE AT ALL, EVEN WHEN PUSHING DRIVING PEDAL ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR. ON TOP OF THIS, IT NOW WILL NOT HOLD A CRUISE WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON THE INTERSTATE. EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WHEN ATTEMPTING TO TURN LEFT FROM A STOPPED POSITION WITHOUT A GREEN ARROW. THIS IS APPARENTLY, ACCORDING TO COMPLAINTS, A VERY COMMON PROBLEM, AND THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL. MY CAR'S TRANSMISSION FAILED WHILE DRIVING HOME. I HAVE A LONG COMMUTE TO AND FROM WORK. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO GET HOME AT 20 MILES AN HOUR AND WAS NOT HIT BY A TRACTOR TRAILER. MY COMMUTE IS A LONG DRIVE ON CONGESTED HIGHWAYS. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE FOR A WHILE. I RECENTLY HAD SOME WORK DONE TO THE CAR AND BOUGHT NISSAN PARTS, I BOUGHT 4 SPARK PLUGS AND ALL 4 WERE BROKEN/DEFECTIVE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 70 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. HE WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE APPROXIMATELY THIRTY MINUTES LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BATTERY WAS NOT PROPERLY CONNECTED AND MADE REPAIRS. THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE FAILURE AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER ELEVEN DAYS LATER. THE DEALER WAS THEN UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE WHO STATED THAT THEY WOULD CONTACT HER AT A LATER DATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,500 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 18,000.

NISSAN ROUGE 2010 - IT HAS ONLY BEEN 5 MONTHS SINCE I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW ROGUE 2010 FROM VICTORY NISSAN CHESAPEAKE. I RECEIVED A RECALL CARD FROM THEM REGARDING A THROTTLE NOISE. I TOOK MY CAR FOR CHANGE OIL AND THE NISSAN SERVICE DID A REPROGRAM TO ELIMINATE THE NOISE. THE NOISE HAD LESSENED. THINKING THAT IT IS A BRAND NEW CAR, I DID AN OBSERVATION AND WAITED FOR MY SECOND CHANGE OIL AND COMPLAINED ABOUT THE NOISE IN MY CAR AGAIN AND THE BRAKE THAT FELT LIKE IT'S LOSING A THREAD WHEN YOU STEP ON IT. AFTER MY CHANGE OIL, I WAS TOLD THAT MY TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. HOWEVER, THE DEALER HAS TO ORDER IT AND WILL CALL ME BACK IN 2-3 DAYS. A WEEK HAD PASSED AND I DID NOT RECEIVE A CALL. I CALLED NISSAN USA TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE SERVICE AND I HAVE BEEN DRIVING THIS CAR KNOWING THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM AND HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE BREAK AND THE TRANSMISSION. I CALLED BACK AGAIN AND THE SERVICE AGENT JUST TOLD ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT YET IN. I WAS DRIVING IN THE RAIN WHEN THE ACCELERATOR JUST KEPT GOING EVEN IF I WAS NOT PRESSING ON IT. I WAS CONCERNED AND TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER AND WAS GIVEN A RENTAL CAR. I BOUGHT A FULLY LOADED CAR BUT WAS GIVEN A LEMON CAR. I COULD'VE BEEN DEAD BY NOW IF I AM STILL DRIVING THAT CAR FOR WHO KNOWS WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT IF THE ACCELERATOR AND BRAKE WILL NOT BE CONTROLLED. I KEPT CALLING NISSAN BUT I DID NOT RECEIVE ANY RESPONSE. ONE OF THE SALES IN THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT THIS WAS THE 3RD ROGUE 2010 TRANSMISSION PROBLEM THAT WAS REPORTED IN THE SAME PLACE.
