No idea why. My transmission has went up again. After about 55k ish since it was replaced the last time. Done at the Nissan dealer and everything.

The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving approximately 75 MPH, the contact smelled an abnormal odor after which the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact was able to veer the vehicle to the shoulder before getting the vehicle to restart. The contact took the vehicle to a mechanic and the vehicle was diagnosed with transmission failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 148,000.

Bought 2011 Nissan Rogue [XXX]. Had new battery put in and radiator bracks installed along with antifreeze tank. $469 Then code PO744 Torque converter circuit bad. Now I need new transmission so it doesn't overheat!! $3000 plus to fix. I can't afford this! I'm [XXX] and receive $1081 a month. Please help me!! I'm reporting the same as many others so that I have documentation. Last week while my daughter was driving back to college (about 170 miles), about halfway the vehicle began to slow down. As she pressed the accelerator, the engine would rev but the car would not accelerate. This was extremely scary as she was travelling on the expressway and there was a semi-truck directly behind her when this happened. A major accident could have happened. She ultimately made it to school taking about an hour longer than normal. She should have pulled over, but it was getting dark, and she was travelling alone. After she called and explained to me what happened, I researched the issue and found that this seems too very common relating to the trans fluid over-heating. The fix requires a cooler to added to the system to cool the fluid. Having personally worked on many cars including changing transmissions, this is not a quick cheap repair. Again, I'm thankful she wasn't rear ended. Nissan needs to address this known issue and compensate those impacted by this. I pray no one gets seriously injured.

I purchased the vehicle from seventy 7 auto on mahoning avenue in Youngstown Ohio I was never told that the car didn’t have airbags it has a oil leak and bad catalytic converter after I took it back to the dealer they checked it and said it was good to go as I was leaving the dealer ship I was on the highway driving at the speed limit which is 60 mph then my vehicle did a hard jerk making interrupt the flow of traffic and proceeded to jerk until I was able to make it off the highway and it was never any lights on to tell me my engine oil was leaking or that the car didn’t have any airbags at all

The airbag stopped working. The mechanic said it stopped working because of water damage in the seat. Why doesn’t Nissan inform their consumers about the airbags? I wonder if other people are experiencing the same problem.

The contact’s daughter owns a 2011 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the air bag warning light intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the air bag sensor needed to be replaced however, the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000. The contact stated that the light came on intermittently at first but now it is on all the time. There is no recall on this issue so the contact would have to pay out of pocket for the repairs.

Air bag light stayed on and could not get an inspection without a rejection sticker. Retired and very costly to repair, but had to repair it. Cost : $2,700 I will gladly send you the invoice if required. Southern Nissan repaired our car. Thanks in advance for your help.

Subject: Urgent Safety Issue: Car Doors Locking While in Park and Running Date: [XXX] To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to report a serious safety concern I experienced today with my vehicle. While my car was parked in my driveway and running, the doors automatically locked, locking me out of the vehicle. There is no auto-lock button enabled in the car or on my remote, and due to a previously replaced battery, the key fob no longer functions properly—I must manually insert the key into the ignition. This is extremely concerning because the vehicle should not automatically lock while it is running and in park. Had I not had a spare key available, I would have been completely locked out of my running vehicle. This is a manufacturer safety issue that needs to be addressed immediately. I cannot risk being locked out of my car in a different location or under more critical circumstances. I am requesting a thorough inspection and resolution of this malfunction to ensure it does not happen again. Please advise on the next steps to get this fixed as soon as possible. DRIVING HOME ON THE NIGHT OF JULY 4TH 2020 I EXPERIENCED MY SUV BEGINNING TO STRUGGLE IN ACCELERATING WHILE I WAS IN MOTION OF DRIVING MY VEHICLE. I HAD TO TRY MY BEST TO GET OFF THE MAIN HIGHWAY AND ON TO THE SIDE. I PULLED MY SUV OVER TO THE SIDE AND STARTED IT BACK UP TO SEE THE PROBLEM AND I NOTICE THE ENGINE REVS BUT VEHICLE DOES NOT ACCELERATE AS IT SHOULD. I GOT MY VEHICLE TOWED AND I HAVENT BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE IT SINCE THE SITUATION.I BELIEVE IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE TRANSMISSION.

The contact owned a 2011 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked outside, unoccupied on the driveway, the front hood caught on fire. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that he was not home, and the neighbors had called 911. The local fire department arrived on scene to extinguish the flame. A police report was filed. The vehicle was left at the contact's residence for further investigation. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V032000 (Electrical System) however, the VIN was not included. The source of the fire was undetermined however, it began under the front hood. No injuries were sustained. No medical attention was sought. The local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 175,000.

The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 MPH, she smelled a burning odor. The contact stated that at that time she did not see any smoke in or around her vehicle, so she assumed that it may have been an outside vehicle. The contact stated that after she continued to drive for a few miles, she smelled a burning odor again, however she stated that once she looked out the window towards the passenger's side and noticed grey smoke coming from the engine compartment of her vehicle. The contact stated that she was able to drive approximately a mile, and was able to pull over in a parking lot to exit the vehicle. The contact stated that she then lift the hood of her vehicle and saw 2 wires that were still burning in the engine compartment of the vehicle. The contact stated she then contacted the fire department, who arrived on the scene, and extinguished the fire. The contact stated that she was advised by the fire department that the fire started behind the firewall of the vehicle. The contact stated a fire report was made, and her vehicle was towed to her residence. The contact stated that no injuries were sustained to her, or the passenger in the vehicle at the time. The contact stated that she has not contacted the dealer at the time, however, she contacted the manufacturer in regard to a recall that she found while doing her own research. The contact stated that the same year , make , and model vehicle was recalled and was experiencing the same failure as she was with her vehicle NHTSA 15V032000 (Electrical System) , however, her vehicle was not included in the recall. The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that she had initially taken her vehicle to Leachman Buick GMC Cadillac (2012 Scottsville Rd, Bowling Green, KY 42103) for an oil change, but upon return of the vehicle, the horn failed to operate as needed. The contact had taken the vehicle back to the dealer and was referred to a Nissan dealer for assistance. The contact had called the dealer and was informed that there were no recalls on the vehicle. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V032000 (Electrical System) which she linked to the failure. The contact made multiple attempts to reach the manufacturer however, each attempt was unsuccessful. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT DOOR OPEN ALARM REMAINS ON AS DOES THE INTERIOR LIGHTS. WE HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY WITHIN THE LAST MONTH. WE HAVE CLEANED ALL THE COMPONENTS OF THE FRONT DOOR HINGES AND LOCKS AND THE ALARM REMAINS ON AS DO THE INTERIOR LIGHTS. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PARKED OR MOVING.

Just bought my 2011 Nissan Rogue today and drove around off and on all day with no issues. I went to my son's house for approximately 5 minutes (left car running) and when I went to leave I had no acceleration. I tried pushing on the gas pedal with no luck. It literally coasted about a block before it finally stopped moving. I made a few phone calls and was told to shut the car off for about 5 minutes (which I did) and then turn it back on (which I did) and I put it in drive and it was all of a sudden fine. I feel as if there has been more than enough complaints regarding this issue with the 2011 Nissan Rogue and nhtsa should address this matter with Nissan who should be held accountable for this. I personally bought the vehicle based on all the good things I was told about it but now, not even 24 hours after buying it, I am regretting my decision. I should have stuck with my kia soul (she never let me down)!! I feel this is a HUGE safety issue

LOST EXCCELERATION WOULD NOT GO ABOVE 60 MPH, THE RPMS WERE GOING OVER 3 I HAD TO PULL OVER ON THE HIGHWAY. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT OR ANYTHING IT JUST HAPPENED, IT EVENTUALLY STARTED BACK UP BUT SOON LOST POWER AGAIN, I WAS BARELY ABLE TO TURN ONTO THE STREET GOING TO THE AUTO SHOP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. I OWNED THIS VEHICLE LESS THAN A YEAR ONLY 4 MONTHS WHEN THIS HAPPENED. THIS WAS A VERY ALARMING SITUATION I ALMOST GOT RAN OVER THANKFULLY I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER. THEY CHECKED IT OUT AND COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING THEN FINALLY SAID IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION THEN ALSO MENTIONED THAT I HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE AXLE WHICH WAS LEAKING AND COSTED ME MORE MONEY, WHICH I DON'T THINK I SHOULD HAVE HAD TO PAY SINCE I ONLY HAD IT FOR 4 MONTHS. THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE AND I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT ANYMORE SINCE I GOT IT BACK. I HAVE DONE RESEARCH AND SEE THAT THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN RECALLED I HAD NO IDEA TO EVEN LOOK FOR A RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE A FRIEND WHO HAS A 2016 THAT HAS THE SAME PROBLEM RECENTLY HAPPEN TO HER ON THE ROAD.

CAR STARTED MAKING SLIGHT WHIRRING NOISE WHEN ACCELERATING. TOOK IT IN TO BE LOOKED AT AND THEY COULDN'T FIND AN ISSUE. WENT ANOTHER WEEK AND THE NOISE GOT WORSE AND STARTING SKIPPING AND LOSING POWER WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE AFTER IT'S BEEN SITTING FOR A FEW HOURS, MOSTLY JUST IN FIRST GEAR. ALMOST GOT IN AN ACCIDENT PULLING INTO TRAFFIC AND LOST COMPLETE POWER FOR A FEW SECONDS, WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET INTO A TURN LANE BEFORE I GOT HIT BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC. TOOK IT TO ANOTHER MECHANIC AND DETERMINED IT WAS TRANSMISSION AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THEY'RE TELLING ME MY CAR COULD TURN INTO A GIANT PAPERWEIGHT AT ANY MOMENT.

BOUGHT THIS CAR WITH 51,000 MILES, AFTER TWO HOURS DRIVING STARTING LOOSING POWER AFTER ANY STOP, DIDN'T MOVE ANY DIRECTION WITH ALL THE PEDAL GAS ALL THE WAY DOWN. TOOK THE CAR TO NISSAN SERVICES MANY TIMES, THEN CHANGED SENSORS, TRANSMISSION AND OTHERS STUFFS, MY WARRANTY EXPIRED FROM NISSAN AND FROM THE ONE I BOUGHT ON SIDE. AND I AM STILL HAVE THE PROBLEM, NOW ALL CHARGES ON ME. THE PROBLEM HAPPENED ANY WHERE AFTER 1 O 2 HOURS DRIVING. I HAD BEEN IN DANGEROUS SITUATION MANY TIMES. I AM PLANNED TO STOP FURTHERS PAYMENTS.

THIS CAR WITH NO WARNING DROPPED FROM 60 MPH ON A HIGHWAY TO A DRIFT, ENOUGH TO ME TO GET OFF OF THE ROAD BUT ONLY BECAUSE I WAS GOING DOWN A SLIGHT GRADE. LUCKY FOR ME THERE WAS NOT TRAFFIC OR I WOULD HAVE BEEN REAR ENDED BECAUSE IT WAS A DRASTIC CHANGE IN SPEED IN SECONDS. WITH MY FOOT ON THE GAS IT JUST BECAME A WINDING SOUND. OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, CAR WOULD NOT GO IN DRIVE OR REVERSE. I TURNED IT OFF FOR AWHILE AND CALLED NISSAN DEALER AND WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR BUT ONLY TO MOVE IT FURTHER OFF THE ROAD BEFORE SAME ISSUE STARTED AGAIN. VEHICLE HAD 1 OWNER PRIOR TO ME AND HAD DOCUMENTED REGULAR MAINTENANCE/SERVICE THROUGH THE DEALERSHIP AT WHICH IT WAS PURCHASED.

AFTER TRAVELING AN HOUR OR SO ON THE INTERSTATE AT POSTED SPEED LIMITS THE VEHICLE LOOSES ACCELERATION SLOWLY TILL IT WILL NOT GO ANYMORE. HAVE HAD TO PULL OFF AT AN EXIT ONCE & THE SHOULDER TWICE NOW. NO LOSS IN POWER TO THE VEHICLE. IT JUST WONT GO. SAT FOR 30 MINUTES WITH THE HOOD UP TO ALLOW IT TO COOL. WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE OTHER 30 MINUTES OF THE TRIP. SEEMS TO BE A KNOWN ISSUE FOR THIS VEHICLE. IT LOOKS LIKE THEY TOOK CARE OF THE OLDER ROGUES, BUT NOT THE 2011 WITH THE SAME CVT TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE HAS WORKED FINE FOR THE 150K MILES IT HAS ON IT. JUST A VERY UNSAFE ISSUE THIS VEHICLE IS HAVING. NO CONFIDENCE ON MY DAUGHTER TRAVELING IN IT BACK & FORTH TO COLLEGE ANYMORE WITH IT ACTING THIS WAY. HOPEFULLY NISSAN WILL STEP UP & CORRECT THIS ISSUE.

MY 2011 NISSAN ROGUE HAS EXPERIENCED ACCELERATION PROBLEMS AFTER DRIVING IT ON THE HIGHWAY FOR ABOUT 70 MILES. IF I HAVE TO BRAKE ON THE HIGHWAY, THEN IT TAKES MY CAR A LONG TIME TO ACCELERATE BACK UP(RPM'S ARE HIGH) AND SOMETIMES CANNOT GO ABOVE 50 MPH AS CARS ARE WHIZZING BY ME. ONCE THIS ISSUE STARTS, IT CONTINUES, EVEN IF I AM AT A LOWER SPEED OR FROM A STOPPING POSITION. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS! I HAVE SEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THE SAME PROBLEM. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND SAID THAT NISSAN IS ADDING A COOLER KIT TO THE TRANSMISSION BECAUSE THEY THINK THE PROBLEM IS FROM THE TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING. THEY WANT ANYWHERE FROM $800-1,200 TO INSTALL THE COOLING KIT. WHY SHOULD THE CONSUMER HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS IF NISSAN IS HAVING TO ADD A KIT TO COOL DOWN THE TRANSMISSION? OBVIOUSLY, IT'S A DEFAULT IN THE TRANSMISSION AND HAS HAPPENED REPEATEDLY ON LOTS OF VEHICLES. ACCORDING TO A WEBSITE, NISSAN HAS AN EXTENDED CVT WARRANTY FOR 2003-2010 NISSAN ROGUES, BUT NOTHING AFTER THAT EVEN THOUGH NEWER CARS (2014) ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM. DO PEOPLE HAVE TO DIE FIRST BEFORE THEY DO A RECALL? IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND HARD TO RECREATE AT THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO GET THE TRANSMISSION WARM AND THAT USUALLY TAKES A LONGER DISTANCE TO DRIVE. ALSO, THERE ARE NO WARNING LIGHTS THAT COME ON TO INDICATE A PROBLEM SO THIS MALFUNCTION JUST CATCHES YOU BY SURPRISE! I HOPE NHTSA GETS INVOLVED AND TELLS NISSAN TO FIX THIS PROBLEM ON THEIR DIME, NOT OURS. I WILL NEVER BUY A NISSAN AGAIN AND WILL BE SURE TO WARN MY FRIENDS OF THIS DEADLY SITUATION.

I WAS AT THE STOP SIGN ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN FROM A BANK PARKING LOT, WHEN THE CAR STARTED TO ACCELERATE TO THE LEFT WITH GREAT SPEED TOWARDS A MAJOR HIGHWAY JUST A FEW FEET AWAY. I TURNED MY WHEEL TO THE LEFT SO TO AVOID GETTING ON THE HIGHWAY AND BE HIT BY TRAFFIC. MY CAR WENT OVER THE METAL FENCE , THEN OVER A HILL AND ENDED UP ON TOP OF ANOTHER SET OF NEW CARS AT THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP. BOTH SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THE CAR IS TOTALED. THE CAR TOTALLY LOST CONTROL....AT THIS TIME I DO NOT HAVE PICTURES OR A POLICE REPORT AVAILABLE.

THE 2011 NISSAN ROGUE HAS A PROBLEM THAT IS COMMON WITH ALL OF THEM. WHEN GOING UPHILL IN THE VEHICLE IT LOOSES SPEED AND CAN NO LONGER ACCELERATE. THE CAR WILL SLOW DOWN TO AROUND 40 MPH. CARS ARE TRYING TO PASS SEMI TRUCKS AND IF THE SEMI TRUCK HAS TO SLOW DOWN GOING UP HILL THEN THEY GET ROAD RAGED AND THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. NISSAN WILL NOT RECOGNIZE THIS ISSUE AND DEMAND THAT AN INVESTIGATION BE LAUNCHED FOR THIS TYPE OF CAR. I KNOW THAT MANY COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN SUBMITTED ON MULTIPLE CAR COMPLAINT WEBSITES ABOUT THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE WITH THIS EXACT YEAR AND MODEL OF CAR. IF IT IS HAPPENING IN MANY OF THE VEHICLES THEN IT IS SOMETHING THAT IS BUILT INTO THE CAR THAT NISSAN SHOULD KNOW ABOUT AND SHOULD BE HELP RESPONSIBLE TO FIX. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS 75MPH ALL OF A SUDDEN MY VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO ANY FASTER THAN 40 MPH, ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOOR. THIS HAPPENED TO ME ON A FEW DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, HOWEVER NO WARNING LIGHTS EVER CAME ON. IF I PULLED OVER AND SHUT THE CAR OFF IT SEEMED TO PERFORM "NORMAL" AGAIN. AND THIS ONLY HAPPENED TO ME WHEN I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY DRIVING A LONG DISTANCE. UPON THE RETURN FROM MY LAST "LONG" TRIP A LIGHT DID COME ON. I TOOL IT TO MY DEALER IMMEDIATELY. THE DIAGNOSIS IN A VALVE BODY, WHICH I UNDERSTAND IS INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION. THE FACTORY WARRANTY HAS RUN OUT (BY 6,000 MILES) AT THIS POINT AND THE DEALER IS SAYING THAT THEY WONT REPLACE THE VALVE BODY WITHOUT PUTTING AN "EXTERNAL COOLANT" ON AT THE SAME TIME, BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT NISSAN IS SAYING NEEDS TO BE DONE TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN. MY 3RD PARTY WARRANTY COMPANY WILL ONLY COVER THE COST OF THE VALVE BODY REPLACEMENT, BECAUSE THEY FEEL IT IS NOT THEIR RESPONSIBILITY TO PAY FOR SOMETHING THAT NISSAN SHOULD BE GOING GOOD FOR. NISSAN WANTS TO CHARGE ME $1000.00 FOR THAT EXTERNAL COOLANT!!!! AFTER DOING MY RESEARCH, THIS IS AN ON GOING PROBLEM AND UP UNTIL MODEL YEAR 2010 NISSAN WAS GOING GOOD FOR THE ISSUE. THIS VEHICLE IS VERY DANGEROUS TO OPERATE ON WARMER DAYS. THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO OVERHEAT VERY EASILY CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO GO INTO A FAIL-SAFE "LIMP MODE". THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AS IT OCCURS ON THE HIGHWAY, ON HILLS, MOUNTAIN ROADS, AND WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR. SEPT 2017 I PAID SANDY SANSING NISSAN 853.00 TO REPLACE MY DEFECTIVE CVT JATCO TRANSMISSION THAT FAILED. NOW JANUARY 28, 2018 WITH LESS THAN 6000 MILES ON NEW TRANSMISSION I WAS DRIVING INTERSTATE 70 MPH POSTED SPEED IN HEAVY RAIN WHEN THE CAR BEGAN TO GO UP IN RPMS REVVING BEFORE IT QUICKLY BEGAN TO LOSE SPEED. SAME THING AS BEFORE. THE ROADS WERE SLICK DUE TO 24 HOURS OF RAINFALL PLACING MYSELF IN A DEADLY SITUATION. I'M NOT WILLING TO RISK MY LIFE OR THE LIFE OF MY CHILDREN AND HUSBAND FOR A KNOWN DEFECT NISSAN HAS BEEN AWARE OF, AND SUED FOR NUMEROUS MODELS ALREADY AND YET STILL INSTALLING DEFECTIVE CVT TRANSMISSIONS WITH ONLY A 12,000 MILE OR 12 MONTH WARRANTY ON THEIR REPLACEMENT MODELS WHICH STATES THEY KNOW THEY ARE TRASH AND STILL DECEIVE THEIR CUSTOMERS. WHILE DRIVING LONG DISTANCES AT HIGH SPEEDS (75-80MPH) THE CAR SUDDENLY STOPPED ACCELERATING EVEN WITH GAS PEDAL FLOORED. THE CAR AUTOMATICALLY DECELERATED TO 50 MPH AND MAXED OUT AT 60 MPH. WE PULLED THE CAR OVER AND CHECKED ALL FLUIDS, WHICH PROVED NORMAL. WE TURNED THE CAR OFF TO LET IT COOL FOR A FEW MINUTES. ONCE THE CAR WAS TURNED BACK ON IT DROVE NORMALLY FOR ABOUT AN HOUR AND THEN THE PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN. THIS PATTERN CONTINUED FOR THE ENTIRE 7 HOUR ROAD TRIP. ONCE WE TOOK THE CAR INTO A NISSAN SHOP, WE WERE TOLD THAT NOTHING WAS FOUND DURING DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. WE WERE ALSO TOLD THIS WAS A REOCCURRING PROBLEM WITH NISSAN ROGUES DUE TO OVERHEATING OF TRANSMISSION/TRANSMISSION FLUID. IT WAS EXPLAINED TO US THAT NISSAN HAS NOT MADE A RECALL ON THIS, BUT HAS ONLY PROVIDED WARRANTIES FOR TRANSMISSION ISSUES ON 2008-2010 MODELS. UNFORTUNATELY MINE IS A 2011. THIS PUT MY FAMILY IN VERY DANGEROUS SITUATIONS AS WE WERE ON INTERSTATES WITH CARS AND SEMI TRUCKS TRAVELING AT VERY HIGH VELOCITIES. SEMI TRUCKS WERE HONKING AND FLASHING LIGHTS AT US OUT OF ANGER AS IT PUT THEM IN DANGER AS WELL. THIS COULD HAVE EASILY CAUSED A ROAD RAGE INCIDENT.

The CVT transmission would over heat numerous times on long trips. This would slow me down in traffic or going up hills. Also, when exiting a freeway and stopping merging into traffic was dangerous on numerous occasions due to now coming from the transmission. The Nissan CVT has been recalled, been subject to numerous lawsuits. In fact Nissan has extended the warranty on the Rogue transmission up to the year 2010 and from 2012 but has continuously ignored the 2011 Rogue. I just recently had to have the transmission rebuilt on my 2011 Rogue. If I had known about this earlier I could have taken preventative measures.

SO NOW AND AGAIN IT HAS ALSO BEEN LOSING RPMS AND HAVING DIFFICULTY SPEEDING UP. MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING FROM WORK AND ON THE FREEWAY, AND THE RPMS STOPPED AT 4000 AND FROZE. I WOULDN'T GO OVER 60MPH! HE WAS SCARED AND PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. HE CHECKED THE OIL (IT WAS PERFECT), THE INSIDE AND SAW NOTHING. HE SAID HE SMELT A FIRE TYPE SMELL WHILE IN THE INSIDE OF THE CAR, BUT NO FIRES. HE SLOWLY GOT OVER AND PULLED OFF OF THE FREEWAY AND INTO A CAR PLACE TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. I CALLED NISSAN AS THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE NISAN ROGUE. I CALLED NISSAN AND THEY STATED THAT IT WAS THE 2010 ROGUE. MINE IS THE 2011 ROGUE WHICH WAS PURCHASED AT THE END OF 2010. SO I AM SUPPOSE TO BELIEVE THAT THEY SOMEHOW PUT A BETTER CVT TRANSMISSION IN MY ROGUE WHICH IS NOT THAT FAR OFF FROM THE 2010 THAT HAS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AND RECALL ON IT?? HARDLY, I HAVE SEEN MANY MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS FROM PEOPLE ABOUT THIS VEHICLE AND EXACT YEAR. THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE CLOCK SPRING IN THE STEERING WHEEL. THERE ARE SEVERAL PEOPLE WHO HAVE POSTED ON THE INTERNET THE SAME PROBLEM ( THIS WAS HOW I DISCOVERED IT WAS THE CLOCK SPRING). NONE OF THE CONTROLS ON THE STEERING WHEEL WORK AS WELL AS THE HORN DOES NOT WORK. WHEN YOU TURN THE STEERING WHEEL ALL THE WAY TO THE LEFT ( I RELIEVE IT'S TO THE LEFT) THE HORN WILL THEN WORK. THIS LAST TIME TO THE NISSAN IN MY AREA, I HAD THEM LOOK AT MY PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR, AS THE SENSOR INDICATES OFF, EVEN IF THERE IS NO WEIGHT ON THE SEAT. MY SERVICE ADVISOR AND THE HEAD OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT BOTH SAID THAT IT'S NOT CLEAR IF THE AIRBAGS WILL DEPLOY IF THE SENSOR IS OFF. THEY SAID I COULD GET IT REPLACED, BUT THE ISSUE IS: IT WILL COST $2,600 BECAUSE THEY NEED TO REPLACE THE WHOLE SEAT. COME TO FIND OUT, THIS IS ACTUALLY AN ISSUE REPORTED TO THE NHTSA FROM OTHER 2011 ROGUE OWNERS. I AM THE PRIMARY DRIVER IN MY FAMILY, BUT NOW I AM WORRIED TO TRANSPORT ANYONE. The car will not go when she come to stop at shakes and jerks, so hard you cannot accelerate once you come from a stop if you do the car dies the car dies when trying to merge onto the highway due to the acceleration especially on hot days almost died a few times on the way home from work hitting St. Louis traffic. The car is a piece of junk. Good luck surviving trying to drive it.

WAS DRIVING AT HIGH SPEED ON THE INTERSTATE WITH CRUISE ENGAGED. CRUISE WOULD ABRUPTLY DISENGAGE CAUSING THE SPEED TO FALL RAPIDLY, AND ACCELERATOR WOULD CEASE TO WORK WITH GAS PEDAL PUSHED TO THE FLOOR. WOULD ALSO DECREASE SPEED WHEN CLIMBING HILLS. NEAR COLLISION TOOK PLACE AND THIS IS MY FAMILY CAR IN WHICH I ALWAYS HAVE TWO YOUNG CHILDREN WITH ME. THIS HAPPENED ON MORE THEN ONE OCCASION AND WOULD RESULT IN MY HAVING TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND RESET THE VEHICLE. THIS PROBLEM IS GOING TO GET SOMEONE HURT OR KILLED. PROBLEM PERSISTED AND LEFT ME STRANDED IN AN INTERSECTION AS WELL. DEALER SAYS IT'S THE TRANS COOLER FAILING TO KEEP THE TRANSMISSION FROM OVERHEATING AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. REPAIR WILL COST BETWEEN $1100 AND $1300. CALLED CONSUMER AFFAIRS AT NISSAN AND THEY HAVE DECIDED IT'S NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR ON THE VEHICLE THAT HAS CAUSED THIS. THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW FOUR YEARS AGO AND ONLY HAS 72,000 MILES. THAT RESPONSE IS UNACCEPTABLE. HAD I KNOW THE TRANNY WOULD FAIL WITHIN THAT TIME I NEVER WOULD HAVE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE. MY RECOMMENDATION, DO NOT BUY A NISSAN. With no clear reason the passenger seat airbag system became defective. It did not detect passenger and always stays off. Took it to a certified Nissan dealer and they said it is a common issue, and the only fix is to reset it electrically or pay 2,500 for a new passenger seat. I opted to reset it electrically which cost $150 and was a temporary fix as the system resumed being defective after a few days. The defect is very dangerous as is disables the passenger airbag completely and will not deploy in the event of an accident which can be deadly.

Passenger side airbag light kicks on thinking there is a "child" or something light in the front seat which disables the airbag. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? This is a known issue of the manufacturer but yet the refuse to include other years of these vehicles in their recall. There even has been a lawsuit on their "fix" because they just continue to use the same sensors even when replacing the recalled vehicles sensors. They also expect you to pay 2700 to replace an ENTIRE seat cushion to replace said sensor. I am sorry but poor people do not have that kind of money laying around. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes was reproduced and confirmed by a local Nissan Deal. They even cleared the code and within 2 weeks it appeared again in the same way/format. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Air bag warning light and the passenger side airbag light kicks on thinking there is a "child" or something light in the front seat which disables the airbag.

I have had this 2011 Rogue in a repair shop 6 times for the same issue and each time the technician replaced the air flow sensor because of “ code reading “ the rogue lost power without warning and stalls at red lights. My most recent repair the technician stated the cruise control spring needed replaced and could be the issues with sudden power loss . I have had the O2 sensor replaced, catalytic converters replaced, starter, alternator and MAS with the problem returning within 3 months . The Rogue is very dangerous and I am filing a complaint in hopes other people do not sink thousands of dollars into a bad vehicle!

WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY, THE CAR CAUGHT FIRE UNDER THE HOOD NEAR THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT. THE HEADLIGHT WAS REPLACED THE DAY BEFORE THE INCIDENT. THE HEADLIGHT WORKED WHEN INSTALLED BUT WAS NOT WORKING BY THE NEXT EVENING. THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHTS HAVE NEEDED REPLACING MORE OFTEN THAN THE PASSENGER HEADLIGHT (A 3:1 RATIO OR A 4:1 RATIO). THAT RATIO MAY INDICATE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. HEADLIGHT BULB WAS A NAPA BP1255/H11LL-N. OUR CAR TOOK AN H11 BULB. THE LL STANDS FOR LONG LIFE.

On interstate, the vehicle felt like it had a "float" feel and occasional shimmy while driving. Upon parking in town, stranger identified vehicle's driver-side rear wheel was not straight. Observation showed ground-contacting point of tire was angled outward from car. Diagnosis by both Nissan dealership and subsequent independent mechanic was extreme rust of undercarriage causing upper control arm to rust through and rot of the underside of car to the point of being "not salvageable" and non-fixable. This meant the rear wheel was wobbling while driving on the interstate and could have completely let go. This vehicle has been consistently maintained as a daily-driver and at only 59k miles, it was mentioned several times that the level of rust was extraordinary.

I am the 2nd owner of a 2011 Nissan Rogue purchased in 2016. I have had four problems with the vehicle, the major one being the transmission that will not cool and overheats as soon as the temperature goes up. With the most recent heat wave, I have experienced no power going to the wheels. I had no power steering and had to push my car off the road with a friend with in the car. I also experienced a short in the system where it had no power at all and seemed to have no battery power, it clearly is an electrical short. The fourth issue is the passenger seat airbag. I have never received any notice from Nissan about any of these issues since I purchased the car used in 2016. When I called today, I was told that there were no recalls on my car and hung up on by Nissan America. I clearly saw four recalls that had been issued over the years on all four of these issues. I drive for the elderly, homeless, homebound and other persons in need in my community and have done so since I was 14 years old. I am a good citizen and have gone out of my way to try to make things right and just for all people. I am appalled at the conduct and behavior that I received on the phone today. I understand that my car is older but I would have returned my car for service if I had received a recall of which I received none. I know for fact that the recall for the transmission came out in 2016 and should have covered my car. I cannot take care of the people and continue with what I do in my community without a working car. I cannot afford a new car and surely do not deserve such disrespect.

The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact noticed that the vehicle was jerking prior to the failure. The driver depressed the brake pedal but was concerned about the vehicle moving. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified however, no further assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 82,000. The VIN was not available.

Drove home, while attempting to park, (car was in motion) vehicle stalled & steering locked, lights on dash flicked off, radio went off then came back on. This happened 4 times while I attempted to park. Finally parked vehicle successfully & turned car off. This happened several times in recent months but only for a few seconds also on another occasion was unable to turn steering wheel once vehicle was on. Tonight was the worst experience, alarming. I plan to take SUV in for check up tomorrow.

Passenger seat Occupant sensor has failed. Yes, available for inspection. This sensor communicates with the Airbag system. The front passenger airbag is disabled due to the fault. The problem has been reproduced, I have followed the process of resetting the DTC and 2 weeks later the DTC has returned. No inspection beyond owner. Vehicle producing DTC B1018 This relates to the occupant sensor which shuts off the airbag when the seat is occupied by a child or small enough adult. Nissan has had several recalls for this sensor in other models and years of this vehicle. Due to poor design the only repair is replacing the entire passenger seat at a cost of over $2000.

Im having issues accelerating since i purchased the car, the transmission is bad , there is cut electric wires by the brake and gas pedal. When breaking there's knocking, pinging, the brakes shakes. I almost got into 4 accidents with my family and child. I was told by dealer it was the reg gas i put in the tank but then got carfax history and seen a mechanic and was told transmission is bad the light is on dash. At 25mph the rpm jumps up and down. Gas tank reads incorrectly.

WE LATER TOOK THE CAR TO OUR LOCAL MECHANIC AND HER CHANGED ALL THE BELTS, AXLE RODS, BALL JOINTS AS WELLS AS AN OIL CHANGE. THE CAR ROD FINE FOR 3 MONTHS THEN BAM! ONCE AGAIN THE SAME ISSUES OCCURRED. OUR MECHANIC SUGGESTED RESEARCHING INFORMATION ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION BECAUSE HE FELT THE CAR TRANSMISSION SHOULD NOT BE THE PROBLEM BUT FROM ALL THE PROBLEMS WE WERE TELLING HIM, HIM THINKS IT IS THE TRANSMISSION. WE HAVE READ SEVERAL CURRENT AND FORMER NISSAN ROGUE OWNER COMPLAINTS AND REALIZED THE PROBLEM WAS BIGGER THAN MINOR WEAR AND TEAR. ON SUNDAY(12/3/17), I DROVE HOME FROM CHURCH, PARKED MY CAR IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE AND ENTERED MY HOUSE FOR LESS THAN TEN MINUTES PRIOR TO MY NEIGHBOR KNOCKING ON MY DOOR TO NOTIFY ME THAT MY NISSAN ROGUE WAS ENGULFED IN FLAMES. I HAD NO SUSPICION THAT ANYTHING WAS WRONG WITH MY VEHICLE TO CAUSE A FIRE. ONE BLOCK FROM MY HOUSE I WAS PULLED OVER BY A COP, WHO NOTIFIED ME THAT SHE SAW ONE OF MY HEADLIGHTS GO OUT. THERE WAS NO SOUND, LIGHT OR SMELL THAT WOULD HAVE INDICATED A PROBLEM WITH MY VEHICLE. I AM GRATEFUL FOR BEING IN MY HOUSE AT THE START OF THE FIRE. I BEGAN TO DRIVE THIS 2011 NISSAN ROGUE AND NOTICED WHEN STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, WHEN IT TURNED GREEN I STEPPED ON THE GAS ACCELERATOR AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESPOND. THIS HAS HAPPENED OVER AND OVER AGAIN. WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY DRIVING A SPEED OF 70 MILES MY CAR BEGAN TO LOOSE POWER, AND SPEED. IT WENT AS LOW AS 40 MILES AND I ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT AS A RESULT. I WAS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN HIGHWAY SPEED. NO WARNING LIGHTS OR INDICATORS EVER CAME ON. NEITHER WITH THE FIRST ISSUE, OR THE SECOND ISSUE. I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS HAPPENING. I WAS DRIVING WITH MY 6 YR OLD WHO HAS SPECIAL NEEDS THE FIRST TIME. I BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY THINKING THAT WOULD HELP. THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN, WHILE DRIVING WITH MY TWO BOYS AND TWO GRANDSON'S IN THE CAR. I AGAIN LOST POWER AND COULD NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY ON THE HIGHWAY. YESTERDAY I WAS DRIVING TO WORK IN THE CITY TOOK A LEFT HAND TURN ONTO A BUSY STREET BESIDE THE HIGHWAY AND ALL OF A SUDDEN MY STEERING WHEEL TOOK CONTROL AND PULLED THE WHEEL TO THE RIGHT I NEARLY CRASHED INTO A GUARD RAIL. I PULLED THE WHEEL BACK TO THE LEFT AND WAS ABSOLUTELY FREAKED OUT BY WHAT HAD HAPPENED. LAST EVENING ALL OF A SUDDEN I TURN MY CAR OFF GO INTO A STORE COME OUT AN HOUR LATER AND NOTHING AT ALL WHEN I TURNED THE IGNITION KEY. NO LIGHTS NO DASH LIGHTS NO NOISE AT ALL IS WAS AS IF BATTERY WAS COMPLETELY DEAD. NEW BATTERY INSTALLED 4 MONTHS AGO. I THOUGHT I MAY HAVE LEFT SOMETHING ON AND CAUSED THE BATTERY TO DRAIN, HOWEVER, A FEW MINUTES LATER THE CAR DASHBOARD LIGHTS UP ON ITS OWN WITH THE KEY STILL IN THE IGNITION BUT NOT TURNED ON TO THE START POSITION. I CHECKED AND SAW NO LOOSE CABLES I WIPED AROUND THE AREA WITH A PAPER TOWEL GOT BACK IN CAR TURNED KEY AND THE CAR STARTED. I DRIVE TO WORK IN BOSTON PARK THE CAR IN MY EMPLOYEE PARKING GARAGE AND GET OUT OF THE CAR AND WENT TO AUTOMATICALLY LOCK THE DOORS AND NOTHING. NO SECURITY LIGHT ON INSIDE OF THE CAR, TOTALLY DEAD AGAIN! I'M WONDERING IF THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH MANY OTHER NISSAN'S AS I READ ONLINE MANY COMPLAINTS OF THIS SAME ISSUE. THE VEHICLE UNDER 10,000 MILES PRODUCED A WHIPPING SOUND WHICH ALTERED IN PITCH WITH THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE. THESE TIRES WERE ROTATED PER MANUFACUTES INSTRUCTION, ALIGNED AND BALANCED EVERY 5000 MILES. THE CAR WAS TAKEN BACK TO MAGUIRE NISSAN ON THREE OCCASSIONS AT WHICH TIME THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THE TIRES WERE DEFECTIVE . THE NISSAN CORPORATION WAS CONTACTED BY ME AND SO WAS DUNLOP TIRES. THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THREE OF THE TIRES SHOWED BUMPS ON THE TREAD SURFACE, BUT REFUSED TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR POOR MANUFACTURING QUALITY. THEY CLAIMED THE TIRES HAD NOT FAILED; THEREFORE, THEY HAD NO RESPONSIBILITIES TO REPLACE THESE TIRES. THE CAR HAS NOW DONE 33,000 MILES AND THE PROBLEM HAS PROGRESSIVELY WORSENED TO THE EXTENT THE NOISE FROM THE TIRES ARE DEAFENING AND RESULTS IN SEVERE STRAIN AND NOISE FATIGUE WHILE DRIVING. I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK AND HAD ENTERED OUR PARKING LOT AND WAS READY TO PULL INTO A PARKING SPACE. AS I PULLED IN AND WAS AT A STOP , MY CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AND I WAS UNABLE TO STOP IT. I STARTED TO TURN THE WHEEL TO THE RIGHT BECAUSE THERE WAS A 2010 FORD EXPLORER THAT WAS PARKED IN FRONT BUT UNFORTUNATELY I HIT THE BACK END OF THE CAR AND PUSHED IT AT LEAST 30 FT DEAD STRAIGHT. MY CAR CONTINUED GOING TO THE RIGHT AND OVER A ISLAND AND BY THE TIME I GOT IT TO STOP THE AIR BAG HAD GONE OFF. I'M NOT SURE HOW THIS HAPPENED SINCE I WAS STOPPED, THERE WERE TWO WITNESSES THAT SAW MY VEHICLE STOPPED AND THE NEXT THING IT ACCELERATED. I KNOW MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE BECAUSE I WAS STOPPED AND READY TO EXIT THE VEHICLE BUT IT WOULD NOT STOP. THIS IS A BRAND NEW CAR ONLY 2 MONTHS OLD WITH A LITTLE OVER 1000 MILES. I HAVE GRANDCHILDREN THAT RIDE WITH ME AND AFTER MY VEHICLE GETS REPAIRED I WOULD BE AFFRAID TO DRIVE THIS. I AM THANKFUL THAT OTHER THAN BRUISES I AM OK AND THAT IT DID NOT HAPPEN ON A MAJOR STREET.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING IN BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC UPHILL AND HAVING HIS FOOT ON THE BRAKE THE VEHICLE BEGAN ROLLING BACKWARDS. HE APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES SEVERAL TIMES BUT IT FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, HE STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING INTO THE GARAGE WITH HIS FOOT ON THE BRAKES THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. HE WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE APPLYING PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND REFERRED HIM TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED HIM TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC TEST PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,030 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 3,078. UPDATED 07/08/11 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER DEALER AND THERE WAS NO MATCHING OF CONDITIONS AT WHICH THE DEFECT OCCURRED. IT WAS THE CONSUMERS OPINION THAT THE DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WOULD NOT PICK UP THE DEFECTIVE COMPONENT UNLESS THE OPERATING TEMPERATURE REACHED THE TEMPERATURE THE TIME OF BRAKING RELEASING. ALL THE COMPONENTS THAT CAN RELEASE PRESSURE TO THE PADS SHOULD BE EXAMINED, SUCH AS THE SENSORS, ANTI-LOCK DEVICE, ANTI-SKID DEVICE AND THE DEVICE THAT RELEASES PRESSURE TO THE PADS. THE CONSUMER ALSO BELIEVED THE REASON FOR DEALER NOT FINDING THE DEFECT, WAS BECAUSE THE TIRES WERE OVER-INFLATED BY THE DEALER. UPDATED 08/16/11 UPDATED 08/23/11. *JB THE CONSUMER STATED THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION OCCURRED AGAIN AS HE WAS ENTERING HIS DRIVEWAY. THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AS HE TOOK HIS FOOT THE ACCELERATOR AND TRIED TO APPLY THE BRAKE ABOUT SIX FEET FROM THE GARAGE DOOR, BUT THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. UPDATED 04/17/12. *JB
