The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the dealer had performed a CVT transmission replacement under an unknown recall. The contact stated that after the repair, the AWD warning light was intermittently illuminated. The dealer was notified and informed the contact that the warning light was an indication of the tire tread wear and tear. Additionally, the contact stated that while her husband was driving 30 MPH, the vehicle suddenly lost motive power and made an abnormally loud grinding sound. The contact stated that the vehicle felt like the rear wheels had locked up, and the vehicle was dragging. The driver smelled an abnormal burning rubber odor. A message indicating a high temperature and advising the driver to pull over was displayed. The driver was able to veer to the side of the road and waited for a while until the message cleared. The driver was then able to drive to the nearby residence. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that gear oil was leaking from the front transfer case and from the AWD housing area. The mechanic informed the contact that the failure had occurred because the dealer failed to replace a gasket during the transmission repair. The contact was referred to the dealer for the repairs. Additionally, the contact stated that the SPORT Mode was inoperable. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

1. Driver's window stopped working. 2. After seeing similar online complaints about similiar issues with Nissan Rogue's from 2014 to 2017. I traced the issue to a severed wire of the left front door wiring harness; there are several additional wires with cracked insulation and these wires are exposed (see photos). The location is inside the rubber gromet between the car body and the door. The harness appears to be defective though it is not clear if it's a part defect or improper installation at time of manufacture. 3. This appears to be a fire hazard - several wires are exposed due to cracked wiring insulation. 4. (7-21-25) Opened case #[XXX] with Nissan North America Customer Support ("NNA"). 5. (7-22-25) NNA requested that a dealer technician needs to inspect. 6. (7-29-25) Brought vehicle to Chapman Nissan and the dealer technician confirmed the wiring issues (see report) and recommended replacement of the Left Front Door Wiring Harness. The part, #24125-4BA0D, is on national backorder. 7. (8-4-25) NNA rep, Rhonda, indicated that NNA would not be able to provide out-of-warranty assistance. When I pressed further if she had reviewed the photos, she would not acknowledge having them on file and was evasive. Rhonda threatened to terminate the call with in response to my questioning. Given the resistance, I ended the call. Note: It felt like NNA outsources these cases. 8. There were No dashboard warning lamps or sounds noting any wiring issue. 9. Note: there was a previous recall by Nissan that was associated with wiring in 2022. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I was driving down the road and suddenly my back right passenger window imploded, it sounded like a gunshot going off it was so loud and sudden. There had been no previous damage to the window and I was on a completely paved road with no construction or other vehicles near for anything to have hit the window. The glass went inside all over my back seat and even into the trunk area, if my children had been in the backseat they could have been seriously injured and I could have swerved due to being startled but luckily I was able to safely pull over. I took it to the Nissan dealership to see if they could inspect it to see if it was a defect or fault of the vehicle and they told me there was nothing they could do that I would just need to file a claim with my insurance.

My car stopped working at the middle of the freeway, luckily I was going downhill. Just like everyone else it may be a transmission issue, as I pressed the gas the far would not moved. I kept shifting gear and it feels like it’s stuck, I can reverse but only for a little bit but once I press the gas it doesn’t go anywhere.

I recently was notified that my vehicle has a factory recall for the jackknife key. So I brought it to my local Nissan dealership and they said they would fix the recall. After checking out my key and car the dealership said I would have to buy a brand new key which was around $300 dollars. The key is only 3 months old because I changed out the old key because the recall caused the old key to malfunction and not start up the car. They're solution was to put a spacer in the key to fix the recall but then said my car wouldn't turn on if they put in spacer to fix recall. My problem is why would i have to purchase something that is being recalled, also if it's a factory recall that would mean it has to be fixed as part of a federal law. Also, the reason for both keys malfunctioning is because of the recall in the first place. It seems the dealership is trying to get out of fixing this problem and they just want me to buy a new key to fix the issue instead of taking care of it, when it was the manufacturer's fault in the first place. The Nissan dealership is Destination Nissan located at 770 Central Ave, Albany, NY 12206, is there anything that can be done so they fix this issue? I also reached out to Nissan national help line, but they couldn't do anything but reach out to the dealership and ask what happened with no solution. They ended up not fixing the recall or anything on my vehicle and I currently have both keys that are malfunctioning because of Manufacturer Recall Number: R22C9 and NHTSA Recall Number 23V-093. But now I am at risk of key malfunctioning while driving and turning the car off and could cause possible crash, injury or worse. I don't understand how they can do this because under federal law they would need to fix any problems caused by this recall. Please any help would be greatly appreciated. AIR BAGS

The contact's daughter owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that the front passenger's side air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the front passenger's seat Occupant Classification System (OCS) Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and the seat sensors needed to be replaced. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V911000 (Air Bags); however, the dealer informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The vehicle was then taken to an independent mechanic, where the same assessment was made, and the mechanic determined that the front passenger's seat assembly and seat belt assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.

The airbag passenger light has been showing off for about 2 years and on 4/30/25 showed the passenger air bag on the main panel in red color. I bring it today 5/2/25 to the Nissan dealer and they said is not a recall and they didn’t fix it. I been reading that actually is a recall and something can explode and is not recommended to drive the car under this sing.

My vehicle began to lose acceleration while driving on a busy highway in NJ. I was able to get off the road and proceeded to drive on side streets. I was temporarily unable to move after stopping at stop sign. Eventually I was able to get the vehicle home. I brought my car to my mechanic. It was established that is was the transmission (CVT). It needed to be replaced.

Upon driving the vehicle on the freeway or highway at an accelerated speed, the hood shakes up and down rapidly, and appears as though it could potentially pop open. The hood is locked when driving and there have been no accidents on the vehicle. Nissan has had multiple recalls of their hood latch for the mid-size cars like the Altima and also the Pathfinder, but I believe the Rogue is also affected. I first noticed it in 2020, and it has been this way for a couple of years, and when I asked the dealerships, they told me there’s been no recall for the Nissan rogue so I had always thought it might be normal (albeit concerning); it wasn’t until this past May when a friend who worked at Nissan mentioned about the latch recalls for the other cars, that I decided to look into it. There is no recall for the Nissan rogue for the hood latch but I believe the 2016 Rogue is also affected by a faulty hood latch. The hood feels locked when parked, but upon driving on a freeway or at an accelerated MPH above 45/50, it seems as though a lot of air gets under the hood and forces it to shake up and down. It is very unsettling and seems like another common issue for 2016 Rogue drivers.
Dec 26, 2023
The front hood latch seems to be loose and the hood vibrates a lot on the interstate. I am afraid that it is going to open while travelling at high speeds on the freeway.

I have a 2016 Rogue, car has 22810 miles on it The AC stopped working back in April, I have since had it into the dealer (same I bought from) They have completed a full AC recharge, which did not fix the problem, then they have replaced the mode door, which did not fix and then finally a leaking hose, which has not fixed the problem. I have incurred over $1400 thus far and still the dealer cannot fix the problem and the AC still does not work. This issue appears to be a known issue and I have found many reports of the same issues in Nissan Rogue, which happens after the warranty expire, and owners are paying extreme amounts in repair bills to not be able to fix the problem. Nissan must be aware of the problem, and know the cause, which if this information was provided to the owners and dealers and offered through a recall would be the right thing to do .

For the past year, the front driver seat will jolt slightly forward upon braking, and jolt/click back upon accelerating. I began to notice it when I would start the car and start driving, because the seat would move back ever so slightly, even though the seat hadn’t been moved prior as I am the only one who drives the vehicle. And then upon braking, the seat would move slightly forward. It is a very unsettling feeling because it does not feel like the seat is secure and if an accident were to occur with enough force, it feels like the seat will come off the rails completely. The car has automatic, cloth seats on driver’s side. When the car is at rest, and you are sitting in the driver seat, if you move your body, forward and back, the seat feels unsteady and moves (it never moves up or down the rail it just feels like it “clicks” into a new spot). I have read multiple other complaints on other online forums about the driver seat of the 2016 Nissan rogue, and I believe that this is a major safety issue for the rails of the seat and being secure in the front driver’s seat. For reference, the current vehicle is around 70k miles. It has been noticeable for about a year.

Good evening, I’m not sure if I’m doing this correctly. The reason I’m writing this letter is because my wife was currently driving a Nissan Rogue 2016 SV until we purchased a new car this year. I cannot recall exactly when I started to hear the noise or feel my driver seat on my Nissan Rogue rocking back when accelerating and rocking forward when pressing the brakes normally. I verify my VIN number to see if there a was a recall for my vehicle because I thought Nissan sent an email pertaining to certain Rogues were having seat issues. I took my Nissan Rogue to Bill Seidle’s Nissan in Miami to get my regular maintenance and I ask them to check my driver’s seat. My Rogue had 85,056 when I took it to the dealer on 10/9/2023. The dealer stated the driver seat had excessive play because of the railings. This repair will cost $1,747.57 parts and labor. The price of the seat frame ranges from $1,200.00 to $1,400.00. I do not know what the threshold for a vehicle is to be place under recall list, however I do think, an investigation should start with the 2016 Nissan Rogue. There are blogs regarding the driver’s seat of the Nissan Rogue with the same problem that I have. I did reach out to Nissan customer support however I lost my case number. My concern is what happens if I get rear ended. How much does my weight affects the frame or the railing. Is the railing weak from the manufacturer and as a consumer I have to $1,700.00. My wife Lois (84) was driving the car. she was alone. The air bags on the passenger side exploded and sprayed her with its contents that appear to me to be deadly and can cause death or brain injury. The explosion caused her to move the car and she was bumped by a vehicle on the drivers side. That damage was very very slight. The big cost was the air bags. I have to pay for that because Allstate would not cover it because they said it was the air bags fault that they do not cover. I think that is correct. While the 7K cost hurts it is nothing compared to what this did to my wife. She is a very intelligent person with excellent memory. She ran our household paying all bills etc. Since the incident she has lost her short term memory. Now she need consent help with almost everything and we can no longer let her drive. The contact stated that his wife has suffered tremendously mentally due to the airbag explosion. There has been no assistance from the Nissan dealership or the insurance company, and the airbag company is still looking into the issue. As a result, the contact sold the vehicle as a loss.

I own a 2016 Nissan Rouge and the AC/ Heat climate control part #275004BB0C has gone out and I have attempted to get it fixed and replaced twice. Climates are too cold or too hot to not have access to working AC/Heat in North Carolina. I have gone all winter with no heat and it has been frustrating to keep warm while operating my vehicle. I have gotten 2 different mechanics to look at the car and I have even gone as far as to change the Thermostate and check all fluids in the engine. Nothing has changed. I believe it is an electrical issue due to the the AC/ Heat climate control part #275004BB0C replaced and having the 2nd part work for only a week to fail again.
Feb 24, 2025
- My AC/ Heat Control Unit failed and isn't able to send the signal to turn on heat and is now stuck on cool air. The part # is 2750044BB0C-A. It is in a 2016 Nissan Rouge and has lost connection. - It is a safety concern due to that I am unable to keep warm in harsh cold weather as well as I am unable to unfreeze my windshield so I can proceed with safe driving visibility. The only air blowing is cold air which doesn't mix with cold winter weather. - It has been inspected by a mechanic and he has said that it is an electrical problem because it isn't sending the correct signal to the rest of the AC/Heat unit to perform correctly. -When it was still working it kept going in and out with cold and hot air. Then it finally just stopped working. There was no sound or bangs to indicate it was finally broken. I just knew when I put the setting to heat it was not giving me hot air it was coming out as cool or really cold air.

- The AC & Heater Assembly - Nissan (27210-4BU0A) on my 2016 Nissan Rouge went out and I believe it was the Intake Case Bracket (27751-4BU1A). It isn't helping the cold air and hot air to come in when I turn the dial in my car. - It is a safety due to harsh weather in the winter. It has gotten down to 20 degrees and I have had no heat in my car. - Yes, I took it to the Leith Nissan dealership to get a diagnostic and they told me the whole system needs to be replaced. - No, It has not been inspected by any of those. - The first time I noticed the problem was around January 1st. My heat was going in and out and then all around it started blowing cold air even on the warmest settings. It has been 3 weeks now of harsh and cold weather with no heat to keep me warm when driving to my job or anywhere.

SUSPENSION

I noticed my back wheel making a rubbing sound. When I stopped vehicle I noticed the back tire was leaning. Thought it was wheel bearing. Had it replaced and tire still was leaning. After closer inspection the suspension trailing control arms had rusted into causing tire to lean. It was on rear driver side. After inspection the rear passenger was also rusted and the metal was split. My concern is that this has happened to more vehicles like this and tire has broken off causing or could cause injury. I would have not thought a major part of an automobile would rust this quickly.
May 27, 2025
The left rear suspension arm has failed. This part supports the left rear tire and wheel assembly and its failure cause the left rear tire and wheel to tilt to about a 45 degree angle. The car was able to be safely stopped, although control was severely effected. Continued driving would likely have caused the tire and wheel to separate from the vehicle. See attached photo. It appears as if the rear suspension arm welds have broken and or the part has failed due to corrosion. It is a 2016 vehicle with only 105,000 miles. See attached photos. The last photo shows the right rear suspension link, undamaged, to illustrate the extent of degradation on the left side. The Girard Nissan dealership in Groton, CT informed me they have seen a number of cars with this problem, but there has been no recall. The provided a verbal order of magnitude estimate to repair the vehicle, based on photos, at $4,000 or higher.

Have a 2016 Nissan rogue purchased new and well maintained. It has 87,000 miles. Last week, out of the blue, the car dropped to 50 mph and would not go over that speed. This happened on a major highway. Thankfully able to get to the side of the road. Took it to the Nissan dealer where it was purchased and for $170 was told the transmission needed to be replaced for a cost of $7,100. Found out through the class action lawsuit info that you can speak to the Nissan good will directly because there was a known transmission issue for that particular year, make and model. My dealer did not tell me about this option. Called Nissan USA, spoke to Austin in their consumer affairs department where a claim was opened. Consumer affairs received the diagnostic report and made the decision that despite the overall condition and maintenance records, they could not extend the warranty as a courtesy to us. I find it ridiculous that Nissan knows there is a transmission problem in these cars, they were sued for and settled for the same make and model. This is a safety issue that Nissan should have to fix.

The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at 20 MPH, the vehicle shut off as a key fob warning symbol appeared on the instrument panel. Due to the failure, the vehicle was initially towed to an independent mechanic and was later towed to the dealer. Two separate diagnostics were performed on the vehicle; however, they were unable to determine the cause of the failure. The dealer later informed the contact that a defective belt located underneath the dashboard may have caused the failure. The mechanic gave the contact an estimate for the repair but warned that the repair may not fix the failure. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact pumped the accelerator pedal several times until the vehicle started to accelerate. The contact was able to drive to his destination. The contact also stated the vehicle intermittently failed to properly shift into gear. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.

Loss of acceleration while driving and upon attempting to engage acceleration after stopping. This has been occurring since the vehicle was purchased, used, from a dealership in Sept 2021. The dealership kept the car for 3 months after my initial concern was submitted, (received back right before Christmas of 2022) however, they "could not find anything wrong" and would not agree to replace the vehicle. The car is now rarely driven now, due to the issue and luckily avoided being hit recently when the issue occurred at a heavily trafficked intersection, Did some research online to find that the loss of acceleration is a very common occurrence with the 2016 Rogue. Nissan corporate was recently contacted and a claim was started, in the hopes for a permanent resolution.

Vehical will lurch, stutter and sometimes nearly stall usually upon acceleration. Feels unsafe to drive. Our mechanic inspected the vehicle and found the CVT needs replaced ($5500 repair). We have had the car just less than 7 years and it had less than 70K miles when the issue began. After taking it in to the mechanic it now has 70190 miles.

Nissan knowingly manufactures vehicles with defective transmissions. This has been well documented as it has been the subject of several class-actions suites. Unfortunately, I was unaware of this issue until my own Transmission failed a week ago. Driving, even short distances became very dangerous, as the vehicle would suddenly fail to accelerate or shift into the proper gears.

I HAVE A 2026 NISSAN ROGUE AND WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE. THOUGHT I GOT BAD GAS BECAUSE I COULD PUSH THE ACCELERATOR AND NOT GO ANY FASTER. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I HAD IT TESTED. IT IS SHOWING P2004 INTAKE MANIFOLD RUNNER CONTROL STUCK OPEN BANK 1. I KNOW SOME NISSAN'S HAVE A RECALL ON THIS BUT NOT MY VIN NUMBER. WAS WONDERING IF THIS IS A ISSUE WITH OTHER PEOPLE AND IF WOULD BE A RECALL AT SOME POINT.

THE ACCELERATOR SENSING IS ERRATIC. SEEMS ACCENTUATED WHEN TURNING EITHER DIRECTION. WHEN TURNING AND LEAVING A STOP, OFTEN INSTEAD OF ACCELERATING PROPORTIONALLY TO ACCELERATOR DEPRESSION, IT WILL ACTUALLY SLOW DOWN INSTEAD OF SPEED UP. THIS COULD BE QUITE DANGEROUS WHEN TURNING INTO THE PATH OF AN ONCOMING VEHICLE THAT IS FAR ENOUGH AWAY THAT NORMAL ACCELERATION WOULD PLACE YOU OUT OF THE ONCOMING CARS' PATH. INSTEAD, YOU MAY BE SLOWED ENOUGH UNEXPECTEDLY TO BE IN THAT ONCOMING CARS' PATH. MENTIONING THIS ON A FORUM ON THE WEB BROUGHT A RESPONSE THAT QUESTIONED THE PROPER FUNTIONING OF THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR. THIS FAILURE IS INTERMITTENT. ONE NEVER KNOWS WHETHER THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP WHEN TURNING WILL MEET THE EXPECTED AND REQUIRED RESULT. INTERMITTENT UNINTENDED SMALL BURSTS OF ACCELERATION OCCUR SPORADICALLY WHEN TRYING TO DRIVE SLOWLY THROUGH A PARKING LT FOR INSTANCE. I LIKEN IT TO A DIRTY OR DEFECTIVE VOLUME CONTROL ON AN OLD RADIO, WHERE TURNING THE KNOB TO INCREASE VOLUME HAS LITTLE TO NO EFFECT UNTIL YOU TURN IT FAR ENOUGH TO REACH A NON-DEFECTIVE SPOT IN THE CONTROL AND THE VOLUME IMMEDIATELY JUMPS SIGNIFICANTLY.

Within one month of purchase, the vehicle had been switching out of the Drive gear, and making an unusual noise. The check engine light, and many others appeared on the dashboard. I brought the vehicle to the dealership within the 1 month post purchase, (no warranty) and was told that It was repaired. Within a week all lights re-appeared and the vehicle drove poorly, making an unusual noise. I took it to another mechanic, who inspected it and gave me a list of all errors that appeared on the device he used to check the engine.. I brought it back to the dealership and was told Id be given a call when a rental car was available. After another month and a half passed, I brought the car back to the dealership, and dropped it off, without being given a rental replacement. The repair shop claimed that they did not find any further problems. The vehicle still makes a noise when accelerating and is beginning to smell of smoke.

This is a supplemental complaint to NHTSA ID #11604939. On October 25, 2025, Passport Nissan in Alexandria, Virginia diagnosed my 2016 Nissan Rogue with fault code P17F1, which indicates a known CVT transmission failure. The technician documented drivability issues including hesitation, slipping, and pulsing during acceleration. The diagnostic sheet recommended full CVT replacement. The dealership submitted a warranty request to Nissan’s Diagnostic Validation Team, and internal documentation shows a full transmission job totaling $6,996.44. Nissan classified the failure as warrantable under goodwill. Despite this, Nissan later offered only a partial valve body repair with a 50/50 cost split and a 3-day deadline. This contradicts Nissan’s own Technical Service Bulletin, which states that if fault code P17F1 returns after reprogramming, the transmission must be replaced. The dealership’s own technician confirmed the failure was warrantable and recommended full replacement. This misrepresentation minimizes a known safety defect and compromises consumer protection. The issue has been confirmed by a dealership technician, documented in service records, and submitted to Nissan’s internal warranty team. The vehicle experienced hesitation and loss of power during acceleration, which posed a safety risk while driving. This reflects a broader pattern of concealment and avoidance of full liability for transmission failures across Nissan vehicles. I request that NHTSA investigate this matter as a potential safety defect and deceptive repair practice. The component is available for inspection upon request, and all documentation has been submitted to the Virginia Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Section and I am prepping for other filings.

I own a 2016 Nissan Rogue. VIN: [XXX] . The transmission system (power train) is malfunctioning, showing fault code P17F1 and symptoms of slipping, delayed acceleration, and a heavy ride. The issue is intermittent but recurring. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. Safety is compromised during highway merging, uphill driving, and stop-and-go traffic. The vehicle hesitates or drags, which could lead to collisions or loss of control in high-speed or congested conditions. Passport Nissan Alexandria confirmed squirrel damage in August 2021, tied to Nissan’s use of soy-based wire insulation. They wrapped the wires with rat tape and recommended cayenne pepper, which I’ve consistently used. Despite these measures, the vehicle now shows signs of electrical instability affecting transmission performance. The original damage was confirmed by the dealership. The current issue has not yet been reproduced by a dealer or independent service center. I have submitted a warranty exception request to Nissan Consumer Affairs and Executive Consumer Affairs and requested a full diagnostic review. No warning lamps appeared prior to the failure. The symptoms began in early 2024 and have occurred multiple times since. The fault code was retrieved using an OBD-II scanner. This issue reflects a broader manufacturer vulnerability tied to material choices that attract rodents and create long-term electrical risk. Documentation includes a timestamped Facebook post and a dealership confirmation. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

With no prior warning or issues while driving on the freeway the rpm’s on my car just went in the redline and the car just lost power and I had to pull to the side of the road and that was that. Thankfully i have not been injured yet. But i brought a nissan Rogue 2016 and when driving for a while notice that sometimes i push on gas pedal and RPM goes up but car won"t move. Or sometimes it seems like transmission is slipping.my check engine light can on and will be taking to Nissan to diagnose the issue which according to what i been reading is a common issue for vehicle. i still have a loan on car and feel that its so unfair that this is a common issue for this car and under 100000. my car only has 68000ish miles and thats about the time the issue reported to have start around that mileage. The code that comes up for this issue is p00776 which is a solenoid b in or on my transmission.
Aug 29, 2022
Our vehicle uses a CVT transmission and when driving the vehicle it will frequently get stuck in a lower gear that does not allow the vehicle to accelerate. This sometimes can get remedied by pulling over to side of the road if possible and then turning off the vehicle and turning it back on. Unfortunately, this is very dangerous because most of the times it occurs when we are in the middle of traffic or merging to another lane. The vehicle will not accelerate pass 40 mph and the rpm is very high. We have brought it up to the attention of Nissan but nothing is ever said about it. We believe this issue is very dangerous to owners of the Nissan Rogue and Nissan also has a history of issues with CVT on earlier models. We believe that the issue is being ignored by Nissan to repair or replace the CVT transmission on these models.

AT ABOUT 58000 MILES SEPT 2019 I FIRST NOTICED ISSUES WITH ACCELERATION AND NOISE. I WAS ABOUT TO GO OUT OF TOWN AND WAS AFRAID TO GET ON THE HIGHWAY. I TOOK MY CAR TO NISSAN OF BOWIE. THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE SAID THERE WERE NO CODES ACTIVATED AND NO RECALLS ON THE CAR. HE GAVE ME A LIST OF OTHER CONCERNS FOR MY CAR (BRAKES, ROTORS, AND TIRES). I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP AND DID NOT DRIVE OUT OF TOWN AS PLANNED. MY HUSBAND REPLACED MY ROTORS, BRAKES, AND TIRES. STILL THE CAR WAS SHAKY. NEXT TRIP OUT OF TOWN WAS IN MAY 2020. MY CAR STALLED OUT WHILE WE WERE ON THE HIGHWAY TO VISIT MY FAMILY IN KENTUCKY. WE WERE AN HOUR AWAY FROM OUR HOTEL AND DROVE EXTREMELY SLOW. NO DEALERSHIPS WERE OPEN ON SUNDAY. WE TOOK MY CAR TO COYLE NISSAN IN SOUTHERN INDIANA. THIS TIME THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. THEY EXPLAINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS COMPLETELY TRASHED AND OUT OF WARRANTY. I TRIED TO SEE IF MY INSURANCE COMPANY WOULD COVER IT. A SERVICE TECHNICIAN AT THIS LOCATION TOLD MY INSURANCE COMPANY THERE IS NOTHING I COULD HAVE DONE TO DAMAGE THE TRANSMISSION. IT GOES OUT ON ITS OWN. THE CVT TRANSMISSIONS HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR YEARS. I CALLED THE NISSAN WARRANTY PEOPLE TO GET SUPPORT. THEY AGREED TO PAY PARTS AND NOT LABOR. WHILE I WAS STRANDED OUT OF TOWN AND STUCK IN A HOTEL, I HAD TO PAY 2000 DOLLARS FOR LABOR TO GET BACK ON THE ROAD AND RETURN TO MARYLAND. I FILED A BBB AUTOLINE COMPLAINT AND THEY SAID THEY ONLY HELP WITH CARS LESS THAN 3 YEARS OLD. MY SECOND TRANSMISSION WAS PUT IN ON MAY 14TH AND WENT OUT LESS THAN TWO WEEKS LATER ON MAY 27TH. I NOTICED ISSUES THIS TIME AS SOON AS WE HEADED TO MARYLAND. IT STALLED OUT COMPLETELY WHILE I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AGAIN. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE. I AM STILL MAKING PAYMENTS ON THIS CAR AND AM ON A THIRD TRANSMISSION. THERE WAS A CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST NISSAN FOR THE EXACT TRANSMISSION IN 2019 ON OTHER MODELS. *TR

I reported my steamed up headlight assemblies to NISSAN while performing oil change and tire rotations early on after my purchase which was 12302016 so end of year model clearance. The moisture in the headlamp affected night visibility. Felt safety concern but told the small weep hole was part of the product design. Why would any manufacturer put a weep hole on the headlamp if it is sealed w/ gaskets & engine compartment assembly sealed w/ gaskets at bulb/wiring harness? While driving in snow/rain, dirty water enters the assembly causing the temporary fogging affecting vision, especially after a warm day and moisture trying to escape via evaporation. ONLY PURE WATER CAN EVER EVAPORATE & DEBRIS DIRT left behind is impossible for owner to clean as this is CLOSED HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. Other complaint within a few years of ownership was the oxidation of the poor quality plastic used on the headlight assembly. I BOUGHT A CAR COVER to reduce sun damage once I had issues since this affects safety/driving visibility. I cannot drive w/ HIGH BEAMS in a CITY. I only have 55K miles as I have other vehicles that I drive & am very disappointed as I must now replace the entire two headlight assemblies BUT DO NOT WANT ANY OEM PRODUCT as I see their product as DEFFECTIVE and POOR DESIGN. MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN WITH VISIBILITY WHEN USING HEADLIGHTS which is OK if on due to rain during the daytime BUT NIGHT TIME VISIBILITY is TERRIBLE. Reported finally up the chain at NISSAN but want to report to your safety division. I cannot believe they were able to get away with this design FLAW & dismiss our concerns over safety for years. Told $2,000 for them to replace but I don't want their DEFECTIVE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES so now forced to research and purchase elsewhere with NO WEEP HOLE. All headlamps should be factory sealed and whoever thought this was a way to avoid issues with poorly manufactured and sealed headlight steam complaints just made situation worse!

My 2016 Rogue is now needing its 4th passenger side headlight replaced in 5 years. Each time it is due to a broken seal around the headlight, which allowed water to come in and short circuit the headlight & making the non-bright function null. Brights still work. After taking it to 2 separate local Nissan dealerships, they both concluded it was indeed a faulty headlight / design and both indicated it would be $1600 to replace with a new one. After relaying this info to Nissan Corporate, they said they wouldn't help with their "Goodwill Program" since they'd already done so the last time the headlight was replaced and because of the age of the vehicle. However, as I mentioned to the Nissan rep, the issue has never truly been FIXED (ie: the seal area around the headlight to prevent moisture shorting out the light) since the previous headlights have all given out in the exact way. My perception is this is just a poorly designed vehicle that Nissan was willing to flood into the market but was never intended to last more than 5-6 years, nor was Nissan willing to stand behind and admit their design mistakes. By the way, I have a 2015 Armada with more miles than my Rogue and those headlights are still as bright as ever.

My 2016 Nissan Rogue shakes terribly when it goes over 60 mph. This has been happening for over a year. I have twice taken it to garages for repair, most recently this week. They replaced the axels but this did nothing and they told me they have been reviewing Nissan service bulletins. They said they know the year of my car has had numerous transmission issues. So as of now, I can't drive my car at a speed over 60 mph. I don't feel safe driving it but don't want to shell out more money for speculative solutions that probably won't work and will just cost me more money.

ABOUT A YEAR AGO (2018) MY CAR STARTED OCCASIONALLY LOSING POWER AFTER I HAD STOPPED AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN AFTER DRIVING ON A CITY STREET OR GETTING OFF THE HIGHWAY. I WOULD PUSH THE GAS PEDAL AND MY CAR WOULD NOT MOVE UNTIL ABOUT 5 SECONDS LATER. IF I KEEP DRIVING WHILE THIS HAPPENS, EVENTUALLY THE CAR WILL NOT GO OVER 40 MPH, THE RPMS WILL GO UP TO 4K-5K AND THE ENGINE WILL REV WITHOUT GAINING SPEED. IT WILL THEN START LURCHING FORWARD AND JERKING BACK AND FORTH. I FINALLY FIGURED OUT THAT IF I STOP AND THEN RESTART MY CAR, THE ISSUE SUBSIDES. HOWEVER, THIS ISSUE HAS STARTED HAPPENING MORE AND MORE FREQUENTLY. I WOULD ESTIMATE DRIVING THE CAR FOR AN HOUR, IT WILL HAPPEN 7-8 TIMES (WHEN TURNING THE CAR OFF, THEN ON AGAIN). IT MAKES DRIVING DANGEROUS WHEN I AM NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE WHEN NEEDED OR WHEN MY CAR IS JERKING UNCONTROLLABLY. MY STRUTS ALSO KEEP SQUEAKING WHEN I GO OVER SPEED BUMPS OR ANY OTHER BUMP. THE DEALER REPEATEDLY TELLS ME IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE BUT NOTHING THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED SINCE IT'S NOT A SAFETY ISSUE.

Hi I did not wreck my car. This has occurred for over a year. My windshield wipers quit working and then they work sporadically. My husband bought a new motor last year but when we checked it the motor said it was fine so we sent the new one back. I have taken my car to the Nissan dealership but when I got on the road to take it my windshield wipers started working again. I took there anyway and they charged me $160 I still have the receipt. They said they didn't see anything wrong but I honestly think they didn't look. Yesterday I took it to another mechanic Fastlane in Hiram Georgia Brandon looked at it and said it was the motor was not getting enough juice. We are going tomorrow to get another Motor at O'Reilly's in Dallas Ga today is On [XXX] and [XXX] I had to drive my car to work with no windshields wipers I had no choice. SINCE IT IS A LEASE, I MUST USE NISSAN CLASS WHICH IS ALMOST 3 TIMES AS EXPENSIVE AS GLASS FROM A THIRD PARTY. TO TOP IT OFF, I HAVE DRIVING IN A RENTAL CAR FROM THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE LAST 7 DAYS AT $35 PER DAY. NISSAN FINALLY CALLED ME BACK (7 DAYS LATER).

I LEASED A 2016 NISSAN ROGUE AND FROM DAY ONE NOTICED THAT THE CHROME COLORED A/C VENTS REFLECT OFF SIDE WINDOWS. THIS CAUSES A CONSTANT VIEW OF THE VENTS RIGHT IN LINE WITH SIDE VIEW MIRRORS. I HAVE ATTACHED PHOTO. I ASKED NISSAN TO REPLACE VENT COVERS OR PAINT THEM. THEY SAID ONLY AT MY EXPENSE. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED. I HAVE ALREADY SWERVED A FEW TIMES TRYING TO CHANGE LANES. IT APPEARED THERE WAS SOMETHING NEXT TO MY VEHICLE.

THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS NEVER CAME ON UNTIL I REACHED THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THEM TAKE A LOOK AT THE CAR. NISSAN WESLEY CHAPEL ADVISED ME I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION.

The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving approximately 20 MPH, as she slowed for a traffic signal, the brakes failed as a result the vehicle crashed into the rear of the vehicle ahead of her. The contact stated she saw an unknown warning light had illuminated. There was damage to the grill, hood, and front bumper, all needed to be replaced. The other vehicle suffered minor damage to the rear bumper and trunk. The contact stated that her vehicle had to be towed to a collision repair center. The other vehicle was drivable. The contact stated there were no injuries. The contact stated that the police were on the scene and wrote her a traffic citation, but did not issue a report. The vehicle had been repaired, however, the contact was uncertain whether the brake failure had been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

June of 2022 I pressed my brakes and the brakes didn’t respond and went completely to the floor. I had the brakes and rotors replaced and over the next two months it did that 3-4 more times. August of 2022 this intermittent problem became more consistent and I took it to a mechanic, two other mechanics and they could not diagnose the problem since it wasn’t doing it for them. These people suggested I take it to the Nissan dealership. The Nissan dealer also said they couldn’t find anything wrong and bleed the brakes. They indicated that air was present in the brakes. The brakes responded appropriately for one week and began to intermittently not respond and go to the floor again. I had to pump the brakes for the car to stop. I took it back to The Nissan dealer and again they found nothing wrong. Next step was replacing the master cylinder and bled the brakes again. The brakes worked for 8 days before failing again. Over $1000 in work abs the brake are still not consistently working and I feel unsafe not knowing when the car will or will not stop.

WE PURCHASED OUT 2016 NISSAN ROGUE IN FEBRUARY OF 2017. IT ONLY HAS ~14K MILES ON IT AND THE ROTORS HAVE ALREADY WARPED. WE TOOK IT TO GAINESVILLE NISSAN AND ALL THEY DID WAS TURN THE ROTORS AND STATE THAT NISSAN DOES NOT CONSIDER THE ESSENTIALLY NEW ROTORS TO BE FAULTY. THE WEBSTER'S DICTIONARY DEFINITION OF FAULTY IS AS FOLLOWS: MARKED BY FAULT OR DEFECT :IMPERFECT. THE ROTORS ARE ESSENTIALLY NEW AND TURNING THEM VERY MUCH LIMITS THE LIFETIME OF THE PART. THE ROTORS AND PADS SHOULD BE REPLACED TO MAKE SURE WE ARE SAFE. THERE IS NO REASON FOR THESE LOW MILEAGE ROTORS TO HAVE WARPED. HOW MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE IN THIS SITUATION?

From what it sounds like, it’s the transmission, it goes on limp mode, now it doesn’t want to move anymore, the gears move out of place. All the mechanics I have been to have been telling me 6k to place it and charge me 200 out of pocket just to tell me that with a computer to find the codes. My car hasn’t moved in 2 months

I bought the car from my mom, at 30k miles they had to have a new transmission, on my way home to Wisconsin right in the middle of the interstate the transmission went out again thank god I'm alive, this is less than 20k miles after the dealership put the new one in, now it needs another transmission. I'm scared for my life to drive it again, please do something so no one gets hurt or killed

MY VEHICLE WILL LOSE POWER OUT OF NOWHERE WHEN I'M DRIVING CAUSING ME TO NOT BE ABLE TO ACCELERATE ABOVE 40MPH AT 4-5 RPM, THE GAS PEDDLE DOES NOT WORK YOU CAN FEEL THE PULL ON THE CAR THERE IS NO POWER. I NEED TO TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE GAS TO NOT BLOW MY TRANSMISSION BUT THEN I DROP TO ABOUT 20MPH AND ON HIGHWAYS OR EVEN SIDE ROADS THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND NOT ALWAYS POSSIBLE. BECAUSE THIS ONLY HAPPENS HERE AND THERE (3 TIMES IN THE LAST MONTH) AND NEVER PREDICTABLY, THE DEALERSHIP IS SAYING THEY CANNOT FIX OR DO ANYTHING TO THE CAR WITHOUT THE ISSUE HAPPENING THERE UNDER THEIR SUPERVISION. AS I STATED, THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND WELL DOCUMENTED FROM CURRENT AND PREVIOUS NISSAN OWNERS AND EVERYONE'S DESCRIPTION OF THE INCIDENTS ARE IDENTICAL. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL AND THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED ON ALL VEHICLES BEFORE SOMEONE DIES. WHEN MY I TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP IT STATES THAT MY BATTERY WAS BAD THEN RECOMMEND ME TO CHANGE THE POSITIVE TERMINAL SO I SAY I HAVE BOUGHT THE BATTERY FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY SO THEY REPLACE THE BATTERY THEN I AGREE TO CHANGE THE POSITIVE TERMINAL SINCE IT WAS UNDER $100. AFTER CHANGE BOTH TAKE IT BACK AND DRIVE ON THE FREEWAY AND IT HAPPENS AGAIN AND I WAS ABLE TO START MY CAR UP AND TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAY THE FUSE WAS LOOSED SO THEY RELEASE THE CAR TO ME AND IT HAS STALLED AT NIGHT MY MY CHILDREN IN IT AND I HAVE TO GET HELP AND PUSH MY CAR IN KROGER PARKING LOT AND PLAN TO TOW TO THE DEALERSHIP IN THE MORNING. THE NEXT MORNING IT STARTS UP SO I DRIVE TO MY FRIEND HOUSE TO PARK IT THERE AND WAIT UNTIL MONDAY TO TAKE IT BACK, THEY THEN THIS TIME WANT ME TO CHANGE THE CHAISSY CONTROL AND I HAVE TOLD THEM THAT IS NOT THE PROBLEM. I HAD ENOUGH WITH THEM SO DECIDE TO CALL CORPORATE TO FILE A COMPLAINT AND NOW MY CAR IS STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR OVER TWO WEEKS. ECM CHANGE BUT CODE STILL

While driving home from work, the Nissan went from 50mph, suddenly down to 4mph. (literally 4mph) Pressing the gas down all the way would not allow the car to move any faster. It would occasionally get up to 15mph, but wouldn't stay. I was LUCKY beyond belief that a car or semi didn't hit me at highway speed before I could move over in rush hour traffic. Both the local dealership and Nissan USA executive offices concluded that this does not fall within the extended warranty forced on them by the NTHSA for many, many similar incidents. The dealer, asking like it was an oil change, asked if I wanted a new $9k transmission. As I can't afford anywhere near that, nor is the car worth it, I was required to drive it home from the dealership, again putting my life at risk. IN ADDITION - a recall repair was requested (the driver door wiring harness) - and the dealership told me that it was completed. They did not complete this recall either. Nissan should not be allowed to make vehicles in the USA. If they actually stood behind their product and made repairs and replacements when there are manufacturing issues, I would feel much better about the situation. For now- I want to ensure no one I care about actually dies from driving a Nissan.

While driving home from work, my wife was attempting to merge onto the on-ramp to the highway, and the vehicle jerked violently and RPM's skyrocketed but the speed was barely climbing. The speed didn't rise above 20mph until RPM's reached 4k. We had to creep all the way home with the engine whining and juddering and couldn't go above 45mph. This is extremely dangerous and the mechanics are saying there's nothing they can do other than buy an entirely new transmission because the CVT is complete trash, ,there was all kinds of debris in the bottom of the pan and Nissan is acting like they have no idea what we are talking about. I'm at a complete lost as to why there aren't any recalls for the 2016 Nissan Rogue CVT transmissions!!!!!! This is unsafe and I will never purchase anything affiliated with Nissan!

While driving home from work, the vehicle's transmission stopped working, resulting in coasting out of traffic and requiring a tow home at night. My safety and the safety of others were at risk. The next morning, the vehicle was towed to the mechanic shop, which confirmed the transmission failed and needs a complete replacement. There was not any warning lights or clear symptoms. In hindsight, there were some slight performance warnings that began about 2 miles prior to failure. The vehicle had a slight hesitation (like driving a car that wasn't warmed up prior to the 1990s or using cheap gas) but it was so slight and not alarming or cause for concern. The following day I was scheduled to drive to San Fransisco, had the failure occurred on I-80, it would have been a dangerous situation. Another safety issue is the radio screen that doesn't work when the outside temperature is hot, it flashes so bright, and it is so distracting that I put a postcard in front of it to dim the strobe effect. The dealership said I need to replace the computer but it was safe to drive. This vehicle has been well maintained and has approx 121k miles. The link to the repair estimate from the mechanic stopped working after I declined the $9000 cost. So I cannot provide that. The vehicle was towed back to my home, and it is parked in my driveway until I figure out what to do.

I received notification of NHTSA recall 22V-024 in the beginning of the year. In this notification it is stated that the repair is currently being developed by Nissan to remedy your vehicle and the remedy is anticipated to be available in Spring of 2022. It is now mid-August and there is still no remedy. I asked the Nissan dealer when i brought my car in for inspection back in February and they said there was no remedy yet. Now I just called Nissan Consumer Affairs and still no remedy. Everytime I am told I will receive a letter in the mail when a remedy is available. Its been 8 months which is more than a reasonable amount of time to pass without a remedy. I have experienced some of the conditions related to this recall (drivers power window inoperative) and I am worried every time I drive my car of it catching fire. My second complaint is for a long time now my Rogue has had issues with the transmission stalling, jerking, and lagging when trying to accelerate from a stop. Come to find out I was not the only one experiencing these issues and there was a class action lawsuit for these exact issues. This past week I receive a letter from Nissan saying my warranty on the CVT has been extended to 7 years/84,000 miles. Well I just hit 88,000. I called Nissan Consumer Affairs and they inform me yea there was a delay in sending out this letter but they still wont cover any repairs since I am over the 84,000 miles. If the CVT has these known issues and there was a class action lawsuit, why hasnt there been a recall for the affected models. I am not happy that I am driving around in a car that I dont feel safe in

The warnings shown in the attached picture came on for no reason all at once then after a restart of the engine, they all disappeared except the check engine light. OBDII code reader shows the code P2004, but after clearing the code with the OBDII tool, the check engine light doesn't come back, which should mean the problem P2004 does not exist anymore. The same story has happened several times in the past year.

When I driving in the freeway my car began to slow down, even when is visible cars in front me and back were present. The car slowing down for it's own , which didn't not give rear drivers an opportunity to slow down in time I had to stop completely and needless braking can cause collisions, that was very scary for my and my family.

2016 NISSAN ROGUE SL AWD FORWARD EMERGENCY BREAKING SYSTEM GIVES WARNING WHEN THERE IS NOTHING IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENS SPORADICALLY, DAY OR NIGHT, WET OR DRY ATMOSPHERE, AND AT MULTIPLE LOCATIONS (STRAIGHT STRETCHS OF HIGHWAY, 4 WAY INTERSECTIONS, STOPLIGHTS, RAILROAD CROSSINGS, BRIDGES/OVERPASSES). IT HAS BEEN TAKEN TO MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE MULTIPLE TIMES AS WELL AS ANOTHER LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP EXPRESSING THIS ISSUE. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT MY SENSOR WAS BAD SO IT WAS REPLACED AND THE CODES WERE ERASED FROM THE SYSTEM. THIS ISSUE STILL HAPPENS AFTER THAT REPAIR. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY SERVICE ADVISORS THAT IT'S BECAUSE THE SENSOR IS DIRTY OR IT'S SOMETHING THAT JUST HAPPENS. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER REPAIR WHO STATE THEY ARE WILLING TO WORK WITH ME BUT THEY ONLY KEEP MY CAR FOR A FEW HOURS OR A DAY AND HAVE A TECHNICIAN DRIVE IT TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE WITH NO SUCCESS. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT IF THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE THEN THERE IS NO REPAIR FOR IT. I UNDERSTANDT THAT BUT, I AM SCARED THAT IT IS GOING TO ACTUALLY ACTIVATE WHILE I AM TRAVELING TO AND FROM WORK ON MAJOR HIGHWAYS AT HIGH RATES OF SPEED. MY "I THOUGHT IT WAS SAFE BASED OF SAFETY FEATURES VEHICLE" DOES NOT FEEL SO SAFE ANYMORE. I WILL NOT LET ANYONE RIDE IN THE VEHICLE ME OUT OF FEAR THAT I MAY CAUSE THEM HARM WITH THIS ISSUE.

Also, the front driver's side seat adjustment became inoperable, and the seat could not be re-adjusted back and forth. Additionally, the driver's side and passenger’s side view mirrors could not be adjusted electronically or manually. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the electrical connector was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The contact indicated that the vehicle was previously serviced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V024000 (Electrical System) but the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall after the repair was performed. The failure mileage was 70,000.

Last week - while I was driving the power steering went midway - I had to swerve from an on coming car and it took both me and my step father to gain control . I took it to a mechanic and He noted it was the power steering motor was defective and needed to be replaced . I bought this car on or about 2019 or 2020 and it only has 34, 000 miles - should be noted after a heavey 3 day rain this problem occured . I called Nissan and because of the recall they told us to drive it to Nissan which is a distance away - only to address the recall. I noted to them that the car was in a state "Not safe to drive " - I got an email from them proof of ownership - and they wanted us to pay for tow for diagnosis ? The motor obviously is effected from this recall - or it should be listed. I made several phone calls to Nissan USA - and emails . NO avail . this is dangerous and costly repair 2400 dollar estimate repair. Thank you Joseph Kelley [email protected] Joseph Kelley or Rebecca fitzgerald

WHEN TURNING THE VEHICLE WHILE PARKING IT MAKES A CLICKING NOISE. THE NOISE CAN ALSO BE FELT IN THE STEERING WHEEL. IT STARTED 2 WEEKS AFTER WE PURCHASED IT. IT'S SIMILAR TO A BROKEN CV JOINT NOISE. THIS IS A BRAND NEW VEHICLE AND THE DEALER STATED "WE DON'T KNOW HOW TO REPAIR IT, BUT IT'S SAVE TO DRIVE." IF ONE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT IT IS, HOW CAN THEY SAY IT'S SAFE TO DRIVE? on a few occasions in 2022 (3 that im aware of) the rogue would stop accelerating. The top speed was about 15 miles an hour while the RPMs ran about 4000. Last week the problem happened again. I was 1 mile from a mechanic so I drove it slowly in. The mechanic hooked up some diagnostic equipment (about the size of an iPad )and was able to confirm that I had a transmission issue. He let me know that I needed to bring it into a Nissan dealership for the repair. He was aware of the problems with the Nissan CRT transmission and thought it may haver been recalled. The mechanic reset the error codes to I could drive it home. That was a few days ago and the car is running fine still. I took the car to Nissan of Devon to have the problem addressed but they were not able to do anything since the error codes had been reset. They did recommend I spend $150 for a software update. I had that done. The problem now is that the car is at 83,453 miles. The dealership let me know that in Leo of a recall the warranty was extended but the new expiration is now 84,000 miles. That doesn't leave many miles to go. Even though the problem with the transmission is dangerous I need to drive it in HOPES of making the situation happen again in the next week or so.

FIRST THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THE SLIP INDICATOR (OR TRACTION CONTROL) LIGHT FOR THE VEHICLE DYNAMIC CONTROL WOULD COME ON AND OFF WHILE DRIVING BOTH ON THE HIGHWAY AND OTHER ROADS. THEN ONE DAY, I WENT TO START MY CAR AND ALL OF THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS BEGAN FLASHING AND IT WOULDN'T START. WE BOUGHT JUMPER CABLES AND JUMPED IT BUT IT STILL WOULDN'T START THE NEXT DAY. SO I BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY AND IT WORKED FOR ABOUT A WEEK. THEN WHILE DRIVING TO WORK, THE SLIP INDICATOR (TRACTION CONTROL) LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND IT WOULDN'T GO ABOVE 20 MPH AND I HAD TO FLOOR THE GAS TO EVEN GET IT TO GO TO THAT SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS JERKING SO BAD, I HAD TO PULL OVER. I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE IN 2016 BRAND NEW. NOT EVEN A YEAR INTO OWNING THE VEHICLE, AT 12,497 MILES ON 5/1/2017, MY AC STOPPED WORKING AND NOTHING WAS BLOWING OUT OF THE VENTS. THE PART THAT WAS REPAIRED/REPLACED ON MY INVOICE STATES, "RPL THERMISTOR/THERMO CONTROL AMPLIFIER. THE AC STOPPED WORKING A SECOND TIME AT 14,976 MILES ON 8/14/2017. THIS TIME, THE PART THAT WAS REPAIRED/REPLACED ON THE INVOICE STATES, "RPL FAN & MOTOR". MY AC STOPPED WORKING A THIRD TIME AT 54,644 MILES ON 6/10/2020. THE PART THAT WAS REPAIRED/REPLACED ON THE INVOICE STATES, "RPL BLOWER RESISTOR/CONTROL AMPLIFIER." THIS TIME, I FINALLY REPORTED IT TO NISSAN AND THEY GAVE ME A "GOODWILL ADJUST" WHERE THEY OFFERED TO PAY 70% OF THE REPAIRS DUE TO BEING OUTSIDE OF WARRANTY. YOU ARE NEVER GOING TO BELIEVE THIS, BUT IT HAPPENED A FOURTH TIME AT 60,509 MILES ON 1/5/2021, BUT THIS TIME IT WAS DURING THE WINTER AND THE HEAT WOULD NOT COME OUT OF THE BLOWERS. THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP THAT TRIED TO DIAGNOSE MY VEHICLE ($140 DIAGNOSIS FEE) SAID THAT THEY WOULD NEED TO TAKE APART THE ENTIRE DASHBOARD (WHICH WOULD BE 1-2 HOURS OF LABOR AT $140/HOUR) BECAUSE THEY "TRACED AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITHIN THE DASHBOARD HARNESS, WOULD NEED FURTHER DIAG IN ORDER TO CONFIRM REPAIR NEEDED". BASICALLY, THE SERVICE ADVISOR WHO CALLED ME FROM THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THEY ALREADY NEED TO REPLACE THE PART THAT WAS JUST INSTALLED 6/10/2020 (NOT EVEN 6 MONTHS AGO) BECAUSE IT IS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE, THEY WOULD MOST LIKELY NEED TO REPLACE THE BLOWER MOTOR, AND EITHER REPAIR OR REPLACE WIRING, WHICH COULD BE OVER $4,000 TO REPLACE THE DASHBOARD HARNESS. I CONTACTED NISSAN AGAIN AND EXPLAINED THAT THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE SINCE 12,497 OF OWNING THE VEHICLE AND BECAUSE THEY ALREADY HELPED ME ONCE OUTSIDE OF WARRANTY, THEY WILL NOT HELP ME AGAIN.

On July 14th of this year, I was driving my vehicle on the highway when it abruptly accelerated without me changing my pressure on the gas pedal. The check engine light then turned on, which prompted me to have my car inspected as soon as I could. I did not have an appointment until July 20th and was unable to use my vehicle until then. On inspection, I was informed it was due to an issue with the transmission, but was also told this was a known issue with the 2016 Nissan Rogues. There was a class action lawsuit filed with these vehicles regarding their transmission as they exhibit a delay that’s typically accompanied by the engine revving while the driver depresses the gas pedal with “little to no increase in speed". According to the suit, other Nissan Rogue drivers have also experienced and reported stalling, jerking, lurching, juddering, hesitation and/or shaking while driving their vehicles, as well as premature transmission failure. The apparent CVT defect has been documented to occur without warning while a vehicle is being operated normally. This puts other drivers, as well as myself, in danger as this becomes an unreasonable safety hazard. I am aware that Nissan had accepted responsibility to repair these vehicles for this problem because of the inherent problems and widespread failure. It is also my understanding that the window to get these repairs ended on December 9th, 2022, and I purchased the vehicle 1 week later, unknowing and unwitting of these issues. I feel that Nissan is still responsible to fix their defective vehicle and I am asking that this repair be completed under the same terms as what was offered during their repair campaign. They are still responsible to make this right for the safety of the users of their product, as well as other drivers around them.

3/13/2023, The last two times I drove the 2016 Nissan, the AWD Error was on the display. I’m not sure what would cause this. I also noticed that the ABS indicator flashes for a while and then stays on when I first start the vehicle. As I look back, A few times I remember a hesitation after descending a steep street and making a sharp left turn onto an intersecting street. It felt as if there was no power even though the engine accelerated. Today the vehicle has 32,386 miles on the odometer. This vehicle sits idle most of the time in our driveway as it belongs to my son who is in the military overseas. I drive it on occasion to maintain the battery. I did replace the battery several months ago. This is the second battery replacement since it was purchased.

Fuel gauge wasnt reading that the car was filled up. Then security lights came on in the car. Once the car was turned off, the steering wheel wouldnt lock and the car refused to start. Then random lights came on on the dashboard. You could shift the vehicle out of park and move it. The entire security system was malfunctioning. Vehicle was towed to nearest Nissan dealership in Bloomington, Indiana (where the car broke down). Nissan states it is the Body Control Module (BCM) and that they would not cover it. It is available for inspection at Community Nissan in Bloomington, Indiana. I felt our lives and the lives of others on the road could have been at risk if the vehicle decided to just shut off while we were driving, causing us to lose all power and crash into other drivers on the road.

Saturday 08/06/2022 my 2016 Nissan Rogue caught fire as I was driving down a side street in Adrian, MI. 49221. Lights came on on my dash, it appeared to be every warning light, the car jerked me over as if I lost power steering and the car took over, my son and I could smell something hot. I put the vehicle in park as flames were coming from the engine compartment, my son was able to open his door and get out, my driver side door would not open and I had to climb out the driver side window! The fire department was called and after they were able to put out the fire as I watched my car literally melting, they told me it was an electrical fire. My car was then towed to Clift Buick GMC in Adrian, Michigan.

On [XXX] I was at a stoplight with my children and when it turned green I went to proceed and then I was moving slowly and it wasn't letting me go any specific speed and died in the middle of the road on a busy intersection at that leaving my children and I at risk of being potentially hit by another car, and it was in the evening time something could have happened to us Ladies as I have a [XXX] and a [XXX] and I'm a [XXX]. Mind you my battery was brand new so there was no indications on my dashboard giving me any sign of warnings nor was my Nissan rogue driving any different as I've kept up with maintenance and oil changes all of the above. So not only did I have to get out and push my Nissan rogue out of the road my [XXX] had to steer and I about got ran over and that's jeopardized in my life and then my kids wouldn't have had a mother thank God people jumped off their bicycles to help me. Then people the gas station tried to jump me but they're jumper cables and they said your battery is completely dead and I said that's not possible because I have a brand new battery as of a couple weeks ago just for the simple being that I'm responsible and I replace things when it's past the time and needs to be replaced. So my friend drove all the way up to us went across the street to AutoZone and bought a brand new battery and put it in then car started right up and was back to normal. But after the girls and I got home and went to bed we got up did our normal daily routine and got in the car to go do some errands and I pull out of my neighborhood and then boom I did it again and I was stuck in the middle of traffic on [XXX] . Three officers had to block off traffic then battery wouldn't hold a charge with that brand new battery three batteries later and an alternator we'll see what happens now INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

In September 2023, my 2016 Nissan started vibrating with noise. It was not shortly after that a warning appeared on the console. The warning, "Chassis Control System Error" caused research as the vehicle worsened. As I was driving, a warning of the brakes shutting down appeared. I returned home in time, and parked the vehicle. The truck was then sent to the mechanic where I was told that the transmission failed. The CVT failed at 83,000 miles. The vehicle is currently at a Nissan dealership service department, while I'm in the process of litigation with Nissan North America, Inc. Nissan offered just $1500.00 towards an estimated $6000 CVT repair bill. This problem is an extension of the 2022 Class Action Lawsuit that needs to be re-established. Nissan manufactured the vehicles with the knowledge of the defective CVT and did not make the consumers aware of the defect. Nissan dealerships also needs to be held accountable for their knowledge of the fraudulent act of Nissan to the consumers. Dealerships sold the vehicles also with the knowledge of the defective CVT. Nissan manipulated the law with a bogus extended warranty that protects Nissan from having to correct the wrong.

On the recall letter from Nissan it states in Bold lettering #1 " Please stop driving your vehicle immediately and call Nissan." #2 "Park your vehicles outdoors and away from other vehicles or structures."By not fixing the root cause of the problem the harness will malfunction again which could lead to a fire inside the vehicle which is quite a safety issue. My drivers side window doesn’t go up and down consistently, also just spent 1500.00 for a total tune up, always do my oil changes tires brakes etc. now I’m driving down the road and my car jerked so hard it caused my forearm to beep the horn and the driver behind me just missed rear ending me. It happened two more times driving very slow to get home and again almost got rear ended. I spent 32,000.00 for this car not even six years old. I have a 2007 Nissan Versa bottom of the line that has over 200,000 miles no problems. Nissan is very aware of the problem with these CVT’s and the extended warranty isn’t helping me as I drive a lot for work all highway, I can’t even work right now! This is ridiculous! They tried to tell me that 125,000 is a lot of miles I was like are you kidding me this is a 32,000.00 car! My Versa was 16,000 and almost ten years older and still going strong. If they are ok with these cars some only lasting from 45,000 miles to 125,000 miles then the price should be reduced severely!

At least 1 to 2 times a week my radio and navigation system won't come on when I start my cars, I have to turn off the car 2 to 3 times to get it to start working. Random warning lights will come on while driving then just turn off. Sometimes both myself and others in the car smell something electrical burning. All of this started within a few days of each incident.

The contact then took the vehicle to a dealer where she was informed that the wiring harness was damaged and that the wiring harness needed to be replaced to fix the failure. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V024000 (Electrical System) which she linked to her failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed her that the vehicle was not included in the recall. The contact was referred to the NHTSA for further assistance. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 46,000.

At seemingly random times the 2016 Nissan Rogue SUV will jerk or shudder while in motion. I would normally travel at a consistent speed but this issue causes sudden jerking/shuddering. I believe it involves the transmission. This creates a significant safety hazard to myself and others while on the road. If my car suddenly stops or significantly slows down while on the freeway it could cause a crash. Additionally when I turn corners I will periodically hear and feel a creak in the front driver's seat. It legitimately feels like the seat is not properly secured and that I would slide out of position given enough force.

Both Headlights on low beam do not light up road infront of you although they used to no problem, the regular headlights are so dim it is almost impossible to see without having high beams on. However driving with high beams puts headlights directly in the eyes of oncoming traffic.. improper lighting is dangerous! When driving at night, I must use highbeams or you can not see far enough ahead to confirm nobody walking on side of road and road ahead is clear. This started occurring at approx.. 40,000 miles, my last rogue never had this issue. I have not taken to dealership yet but need to now that I see some of the complaints and our issue is not a bulb.there has been no warnings or messages for this issue to repair ourselves we are unable to do so because it's not a blub it's the direction of the low beam lights have changed we do not know what has caused this we just started noticing we were unable to drive at night securely and did not have $ to take to dealership. Yes my car can be inspected if you are able to do so. I will be taking to mechanic asap I will upload report. This is an ongoing safety issue

Engine unexpectedly stalls/stops under power. Along with power steering and brakes. Engine sensors were replaced by dealership. Condition persists and confirmed by dealership. Dealership maintains this is an engine wiring harness issue that shorts out under certain conditions. While engine was operating, dealership was able to cause engine to stop. Cautioned me to get wiring harness replaced, as it could present a safety issue or accident. Check engine lie went on as did the traction control light in each case after they were reset. I am taking vehicle to another service center to evaluate. Estimate was $3,402 to replace engine harness, plus it was $750 to replace sensors, Vehicle has 55,000 miles on it.

In April 2021 I purchased a 2016 Nissan Rogue. A few times I noticed that I did not have my seatbelt on while driving which for me, is highly unusual because it is the first thing I do once I start my engine. It is the AUDIBLE chime that alerts me. I then specifically started my engine and realized that the car DID NOT have a safety belt CHIME. ( FMVSS 208 S7.3 ) I took it to a Nissan dealer. The technician told me that Nissan DID NOT put a safety belt audible chime in ANY of their vehicles before 2020. I could not believe what I was hearing. Not only is this feature federal law but, it is also in the Nissan owners manual. It is not a feature that can be turned on or off. It is a federal requirement. Nissan is violating federal law and has been doing so for years at the expense of the American people. I am worried for my safety and the safety of others since it is difficult to DISCOVER that there is no audible seat belt safety chime and that it is a safety issue that might prevent one from putting on their seatbelt so that they don’t go flying through the front windshield. Federal law states: “manufacturers have an OPTION. They can EITHER use a seatbelt symbol AND an audible chime OR The words “ Seat Belt” AND An audible chime”. The audible chime is not an OPTION it is a requirement. The chime is NOT a feature that can be turned on or off in any Nissan vehicle including my 2016 Nissan Rogue. The consumer needs to know about this missing safety feature as per Federal law. I wonder how many lives have been lost because Someone just like me, needed that audible safety belt chime to remind them that their seat belt was not buckled and it cost them their lives. There is a reason that the safety belt safety law has two components. A VISUAL and an AUDIBLE safety belt feature. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards exist for the safety of the American people. With Nissan, this does not seem to matter.

THE LICENSE PLATE LIGHT QUIT WORKING ON A DIFFERENT OCCASION AND I AM NOT 100% SURE IF IT WORKED WHEN I FIRST STARTED TO DRIVE. I WAS PULLED OVER AND GIVEN A TICKET. THE NEXT DAY I WENT TO NEAREST AUTO PARTS STORE AND PURCHASED NEW BULBS. WHEN I WENT TO REPLACE BOTH BULBS THEY WERE BOTH WORKING. I PURCHASED A 2016 ROGUE SV (VIN [XXX], I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE SINCE I BROUGHT IT HOME. I HAD THE HEAD UNIT REPLACE NO LESS THAN 4 SEPARATE TIMES BECAUSE IT WOULD STOP WORKING AND GO BLACK. THE CAR HAD LESS THAN 10,000 MILES ON IT. I WAS TOLD IT WAS BEING REPLACED WITH A "BRAND NEW UNIT". THE DEALERSHIP FORGOT TO TRANSFER MY XM SUBSCRIPTION TO THE NEW UNIT, SO WHEN I CALLED TO ACTIVATE I FIND OUT NOT ONLY IS IT NOT NEW, ITS 4 YEARS OLDER THAN THE CAR I OWN. WHILE REPLACING THIS THE TECHNICIANS DESTROYED THE SURROUNDING TRIM. LAST JUNE MY CAR STARTED STALLING OUT, THIS HAPPENED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE ENGINE DIED BUT THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS STAYED ON. IT HAS DIED AT GAS STATIONS, STOP LIGHTS AND PULLING ONTO A ROADWAY. IT CONTINUES TO SHUDDERS AT STOP LIGHTS. NISSAN WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE EVENTS SO I WAS TOLD TO TAKE IT HOME. LAST WEEK MY ROGUE BEGAN TO PUSH 6000 RPMS WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY, PEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND I NEVER MADE IT ABOVE 45MPH. DURING THIS EVENT THE CAR WOULDN'T GO BELOW 4000RPMS, THIS EVENT LASTED ABOUT 30MINS. THIS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AND WE HAVE VIDEO OF THE EVENTS, ABOUT 15 MINUTES WORTH. I WAS TOLD THIS WEEK THAT THE DEALERSHIP HAD SENT THE ISSUES TO NISSAN, AND THAT WITH THE VIDEO/THE COMPLAINTS THAT NISSAN WOULD REPLACE AND FIX WHAT THEY BELIEVED TO BE THE PROBLEM, SOMETHING WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THE DEALERSHIP THEN CALLED MY HUSBAND AND TOLD HIM THAT WE COULD PICK UP THE VEHICLE AND TAKE IT HOME. THEY TOLD HIM THAT "NISSAN CREATED A TECHNOLOGY" THAT IS NOW INSTALLED IN THE VEHICLE SO THE NEXT TIME AN EVENT HAPPENS IT WILL RECORD IT, TO CONTINUE DRIVING IT FOR A 1,000 MILES. I FEEL UNSAFE IN THIS VEHICLE. I DO NOT TRUST THIS VEHICLE TO DELIVER MY DAUGHTER AND I SAFELY AND RELIABLY TO OUR DESTINATION. I WILL BE HAPPY TO SHARE THE VIDEO AS WELL INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TT

DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE HOOD OF THE NISSAN ROGUE IS LATCHED BUT THE ACTUAL HOOD WILL MOVE (FLAP) WHEN DRIVING OVER 45-50 MPH. THIS STARTED THE SAME DAY THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED BUT WAS NOT ABLE TO GET IT IN BECAUSE OF WAIT TIME AT THE LOCATION. I HAVE WENT TO THE PLACE WHERE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED AT CARMAX, BUT THEY SAID IT WAS A PROBLEM THAT NISSAN INFORMED THEM ABOUT AND THERE WAS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE. NISSAN TOLD THEM THAT THERE WERE MANY OTHER VEHICLES THAT HAVE THE SAME DEFECT BECAUSE OF THE WAY THE CAR WAS MADE AND THE ONLY SOLUTION WAS TO TIGHTEN THE HOOD TO A CERTAIN EXTENT ACCORDING TO CARMAX. AFTER LEAVING THE LOCATION AND 3 DAYS LATER THE HOOD OF MY CAR IS FLAPPING AND MOVING EVEN MORE THAN BEFORE, I FEEL LIKE THIS WILL EVETUALLY LEAD TO ANOTHER PROBLEM BECAUSE YOU CAN ACTUALLY SEE THE HOOD MOVING WHILE DRIVING AND THE PERSON AT THE CARMAX LOCATION WAS AWARE OF HOW MUCH IT WAS MOVING DURING A TEST DRIVE. I HAVE TRIED TO LOOK UP INFORMATION ABOUT THE VEHICLE BECAUSE I WAS TOLD IT WAS AN ONGOING PROBLEM, BUT AS OF NOW I HAVE NOT FOUND ANYTHING RELATED TO THE PROBLEM I AM HAVING. I DO NOT BELIEVE IT IS SAFE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE IN THAT STATE BECAUSE IT COULD GET WORSE AND EVENTUALLY BECAUSE OF THE SPEED OF THE HIGHWAY I DRIVE ON (70MPH US 1 NC) IT COULD POSSIBLE AFFECT THE LATCH OR SOMETHING ELSE.

IT IS NOT A STRONG SHAKING BUT A CONSTANT VIBRATION AND AFTER DRIVING FOR A PERIOD OF TIME BEGINS TO IRRITATE MY HANDS. THE DEALER AND SERVICE MANAGER SAID IT IS NORMAL AND THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. *TR
