Nissan did a recall on emergency braking system fail for which I was not notified. I did not become aware of the recall until after the expiration date and now Nissan refuses to honor the recall even though they are aware of the problem.

On Friday, 24 Jan 25, at highway speeds between 60 and 70 mph the Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) system unexpectedly engaged three times. On Sunday, 26 Jan 25, while in a neighborhood street the AEB engaged unexpectedly at 25 mph. That same day at highway speeds between 60 and 70 mph the AEB system unexpectedly engaged four times. Additionally, on that day the AEB warning light flashed and a chime was heard, but the system did not brake two times. At 3 separate times while driving my car just suddenly brakes and one of the times was doing between 40 and 50 with no other car around and suddenly with no warning car starts beeping and comes to an abrupt halt jacking the seatbelt tight and coming to a complete stop then proceeding along as if nothing happened.

This is about the 4th incident where when I am driving my car and all of a sudden a message flashes on the dashboard and the car brakes hard, while my foot is still on the gas. There are no other vehicles in front of me or icy roads. I am in the process of bringing to the dealer I purchased it from to run a diagnostics, but from what I have read this issue has been happening a lot with the 2018 models. I do not want to wait until I have an accident for this issue to be acknowledged or repaired.

My rogue has randomly just gave me a warning and slammed on my breaks without an obstacle in site. Now the malfunction light keeps coming on. This is starting to get very frustrating. I have on this car for 3 years. It only had 19000 miles on it when purchased. It now has 81000. I am afraid this is going to cause a fatal accident.

While driving on a clear day on an open road going about 50 MPH my car made the emergency alert noise for a forward collision and slammed on the brakes. Nothing was in front of me and the event almost caused an accident.

I was driving my car and out of no where for the first time I feel it shaking and making a noise, it did it for a min then it would stop, and it would continue this way every couple of mins. I had a feeling I should pull over yet there was no where I could pull over to on a busy road, so I kept driving, eventually I could not drive faster than 20 mph, my car would not let me. It would make the noise that a car makes when you have it parked and are stepping on the gas pedal, like revving the car. Eventually I pulled over once I could and then turned off the car and turned it back on, once the car was on it would literally not move at all. I could shift the gear stick with no issue to drive and all the other things but I could still not drive my car, it wouldn’t move, there was no parking brake on, nothing. It was on drive but it would not move. At this time there was no lights suggesting anything was wrong with the car. I kept turning it back on and off and then it worked until I got to my destination. Once I got to my destination I was not able to go back home. The car would simply not run. There was no warning lamps or messages of any kind prior to the incident. My safety and others was put at risk because I was on a busy highway and I was not able to drive faster than 20 mph at one point. A car could’ve came at mine driving at 65+ mph stated in the speed limit. I was even able to get off the road at that time either. It was a very scary experience. It wasn’t until the tow truck towed to car to my house that the warning lights came on. Turning on hours after everything had already happened. There was 6 codes that popped up when we checked the car all relating to the transmission. This is a very serious and dangerous situation. I am lucky I didn’t get hurt or anyone driving around me at that time. I don't have any images from the incident only a video that shows the cars speed dropping and getting higher on its own, it literally felt like the car was driving itself.

Back up camera black out and on no volume with car play and radio not working. The it just stopped and with out warning will go out. Vehicle is available for inspection. Unable to see or getting warnings without back camera.

Rear power lift gate on my 2018 Nissan Rogue will randomly close after being lifted. Happens at any time, whether the key fob, dash button or the button on the lift gate itself is used. The lift gate has hit my wife and I in the head multiple times causing minor injury. The car has been back to my Nissan dealer twice, they state the struts, sensors and modules are all working fine. They indicated they recalibrated the sensors. Not sure what the issue is but we don’t like the idea of paying the quoted price of $1200 to replace the struts since this may be a general problem with the car.

My 2018 Nissan is having rear differential issues affecting the transfer case, I did see there was a class action lawsuit. My car is unable to go up any small ramps without stalling. I was told this issue will persist. I still owe the bank money. When I went to the Nissan Dealership they offered me 1,000.00 for my car. It is a 2018 with 108K miles on it.

Since I purchased my car in September of 2022, a 2018 Nissan Rogue SL AWD, whenever I drive down to Houston, TX, my AEB symbol (2 cars crashing symbol) flashes. This is consistent with me going to Houston about once a month, and I've driven elsewhere fine. I've driven throughout North TX, and to Louisiana, but every time without fail, my car gets the AEB sensor light. It flashes, and sometimes will go off for a day or two if I'm down there, but comes back on no matter what.

Since my purchase of my Rogue 2.5 years ago, it has randomly given a warning and braked out of nowhere. With no cars around, in front or behind, it was alarming. Since purchasing the car, this issue has occured, at least 15-20 random times, with the scariest being on the interstate. When the brakes slammed (out of my control) on the interstate, I was terrified a car behind me would rear end me. Luckily the car behind me was too far back but I could tell they were aggravated that I braked out of nowhere on the interstate. Dangerous! I plan on getting rid of this car after only 2 years!

The AEB Braking malfunction light keeps coming on, i shut it off but it comes back on. I’m afraid it will do an emergency stop and cause the vehicle behind will hit me. No recall has been done by Nissan. I need help so I will feel safe driving my car.

While driving, the front collision warning activated, immediately followed by the automatic emergency brake system activating. This made my car break suddenly, attempting to stop in the middle of traffic without warning. There was nothing in front of me that could have activated the systems. This occurred twice in the past week.

The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while attempting to turn the vehicle on with the push-to-start button, the vehicle began to make a continuous clicking sound. The contact mentioned that the clicking sound appeared to be coming from the battery. The contact stated that the entire warning lights illuminated and flickered on the instrument panel. The contact stated that the push-to-start button had to be pressed again to make the sound stop and then the vehicle had to be jumpstarted. The contact stated that the failure continuously recurred, causing the vehicle to be jumpstarted several times in one day. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 67,000.

The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Rogue. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V093000 (Electrical System) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted and determined that parts were on back order. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

My check engine light came on in my 2018 Nissan Rogue. I took it to the Nissan dealership where I purchased the car on 6/12/23 my odometer had 35,370 miles at this time. Service technician found that check engine light was on due to codes: PO447;PO075; and code PO012. Per the service receipt I received after paying $5.023 these were the listed issues and repairs: Short in the Electronic Control Ignition Harness. The Electronic Control Ignition Harness and the Ignition Power Distribution Module needed to be replaced. This is a known recall issue with past models on this same issue, but 2018 Nissan Rogue Models have not been recalled even though the problem still exists, at least with my vehicle. Thankfully no injuries or damaged cause by this defect because I was proactive to get it fixed. Called Nissan Motors Consumer Affairs too!

Was at a complete stop at a red light, was struck from behind in which the car was going approximately 50 miles an hour, and no airbags deployed. The police report stated that they did but in fact they did not. I provided pictures of the inside of the car after the accident showing that they did not deploy. Daughter in back seat suffered fractured vertebrae. She was sitting in center seat. There was an occupant in driver seat as well as front passenger. Driver may have hit chin on driver’s wheel causing bruising but no broken bones. Driver continues to have sore upper back as of April 2, 2024, but no broken bones. Pictures of police report also provided.

Driving to Deep Gap, NC 7/28/2023 the “passenger airbag” lights came on and stayed on. When we got home we tried several Utube reset options and the lights went off, for a few starts of the engine. Now the lights stay on all the time. Being that I have a 2018 Nissan Rouge, I am wondering if I have one of the faulty recalled airbag sensors put when the vehicle was built in 2018 in Japan. We still have to use the vehicle daily and it is available for inspection. Living in Florida, old people capital of the US, I want to know I’m protected with airbags. We have called our platinum extended warranty people, two dealers who say $200-$2,000 to diagnose and repair. I cannot understand paying for a defect so we have not scheduled any work to be done. We did have something else odd happen in the past couple of weeks also, making me think it may be something more defective in the the electronics. The radio screen suddenly went black even though the radio was still playing. When we stop and started the car again, the radio screen came on normally.

The passenger airbag light stays illuminated regardless if there is a passenger in the seat or not. A diagnostic scan was run and it is Code= B00A0:00. This issue has been under recall for model years up to 2017 and my car is a 2018. There is a service bulletin for this issue and I have been quoted several thousand dollars to fix it. The car was not in an accident and nothing precipitated this issue. It literally happened upon starting the car one day. The 2018 model year Nissan Rogue's should be included in the earlier recall of Nissan Rogues. It's apparently now my responsibility to pay out-of-pocket to insure my son's safety as I have been told the airbag system WILL NOT ENGAGE if the car is in an accident when this light is on--and the light never turns off. There were no warnings leading up to this issue. The light randomly turned on one day and has stayed on virtually every time driven since. The dealer is well aware of this ongoing issue with the Nissan Rogue.

The passenger Occupant Classification System is malfunctioning. The weight sensor under the passenger side is no longer detecting an adult sitting in the passenger seat. This part is able to be fixed but costs 8,000-9,000 to replace the whole seat and the sensor. The safety of anyone sitting in my car is at risk, with the airbag light on because the sensor malfunctioned the air bags will no longer deploy in the event of a car accident. This light has been on since I got the car as a lease. Instead of the dealership fixing it the illegally pushed my car through inspection. The same model of my car was recalled for years 2014- 2017 for the same exact reason and problem I am having with this vehicle. I have done extensive research on the matter and it is a VERY COMMON problem with this vehicle. So many others with the same model as me and other models as well including infinity have resorted to buying a Nissan 360 airbag emulator to override the airbag weight sensor, so that in a result of an accident, the airbags will still function. This is a temporary solution and shouldn't be something the owners of this vehicle have to deal with especially when the same model from a year before was recalled for this reason.

The CVT transmission in my 2018 Nissan Rogue failed catastrophically at 92,000 miles, far below industry standards for drivetrain reliability. This failure, tied to known defects and past class-action litigation, caused severe safety risks and financial hardship. Despite these issues being well-documented and covered in extended warranties for some vehicles, Nissan never informed me of any potential risk, leaving me unprepared. The failure caused a sudden loss of power, limiting the vehicle to 40mph, creating a dangerous situation, especially on highways where maintaining speed is critical. I had to drive the compromised vehicle to a Nissan dealership for diagnosis, putting myself & other motorists in danger. The issue was confirmed and reproduced during diagnostics, with an estimated repair cost of nearly $10,000. Before this, an independent mechanic had also diagnosed the problem, citing transmission failure with documented codes. However, Nissan refused to accept outside documentation, requiring diagnosis from their service center. No warning lights or dashboard messages appeared before the failure. Symptoms like difficulty accelerating and erratic RPM fluctuations began about a week prior but offered no formal alerts. Nissan’s refusal to provide assistance after the diagnosis cited the vehicle being out of warranty and my failure to use Nissan dealerships for regular service. This ignored challenges such as the rural location of their service centers and COVID-related limitations during my ownership. This failure highlights a broader safety & reliability issue with Nissan’s CVT transmissions, which the company has failed to address adequately through recalls or customer notifications. I urge the NHTSA to investigate these defective transmissions and require Nissan to take necessary actions, including recalls, to protect consumers from safety risks and financial burdens. The faulty transmission remains in my possession and is available for inspection upon request

The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic for an oil change; several hours after the service, the vehicle stalled while driving 35 MPH without warning. The contact stated that the failure recurred soon after restarting the vehicle. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to a dealer and was diagnosed with transmission failure. The contact stated after driving three miles, the contact noticed that the vehicle was driving abnormally. The contact parked the vehicle and had the vehicle towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a fractured rear differential. The contact was informed that the rear differential needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION DRIVING STRAIGHT AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MILES PER HOUR, AT 7:52AM ON UNIVERSITY BLVD AT HIGHWAY 75, THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM ENGAGED FOR NO REASON CAUSING THE VEHICLES BRAKES TO INAPPROPRIATELY ENGAGE. THIS WAS A FAILURE OF THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM DUE TO THE RANDOM NATURE AND THE FACT THERE WAS NO HAZARD OR CONDITION REQUIRING THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING TO BECOME ENGAGED. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED AND AT LEAST ONE PREVIOUS SAFETY COMPLAINT HAS BEEN ENTERED. THIS FAILURE OF THE AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM DO CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO STOP AND IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN.

WHILE DRIVING MY CAR, HIGHWAY OR SIDE STREETS, I GET A NUMBER OF DIFFERENT WARNING LIGHTS, ALL DEALING WITH MY TIRES AND BRAKING SYSTEM. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND WAS TOLD THERE IS A RECALL ON THE ABS. I CHECK MY CAR IN FOR REPAIRS, WAITED, LEFT AND SUPPOSING EVERYTHING WAS BACK TO NORMAL JUST TO GET ON THE ROAD THE NEXT DAY AND GET THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. TOOK IT DIRECT TO THE DEALERSHIP, JUST TO FIND OUT ALL THEY DID WAS JUST REPROGRAMMED MY CAR TO GET THE LIGHTS OFF. AT THIS POINT AND TIME, THE SER VICE DEPARTMENT WAS CLOSED, SO I RETURNED THE NEXT DAY, WAITED FOR 4 HOURS JUST TO FIND OUT 'IT'S GOING TO COST ME $300-500 AND 2 HOURS ' TO REPAIR BUT THEY DON'T HAVE THE PART. ALL OF THIS STARTED ON SATURDAY 11/09/2019.

WHILE IN MOTION (APPROXIMATELY 45-50 MPH) ON A BRIDGE APPROACHING A HIGHWAY MY VEHICLE SELF-BRAKED. I DID NOT BRAKE, THE VEHICLE DID. THERE WAS NOTHING CLOSE TO ME, IN FRONT, OR BEHIND ME AT THE TIME. THE VEHICLE WAS SCREECHING FROM THE BRAKING. ONCE I WAS ABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE, I GOT OFF THE HIGHWAY. I CONTACTED MY DEALERSHIP AND THEY WEREN'T PHASED, I WAS TOLD PERHAPS THE SENSOR PROBABLY SAW SOMETHING. THIS IS NOT SAFE, AND I AM VERY CONCERNED TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE.

TWICE I HAVE GOTTEN THIS ERROR (SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS) WHILE MERGING ONTO INTERSTATE IN MARCH 2019 I ONLY TOOK PHOTOS THE FIRST TIME AND ONCE I HAVE HAD THE BRAKES AUTOMATICALLY ATTEMPT TO STOP THE CAR ON A REGULAR ROAD IN JULY 2019. I DID CONTACT THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALER AND WAS TOLD MY CAR WAS NOT IN THE GROUP TO HAVE REPAIR.

WHILE MOVING AT BOTH HIGHWAY SPEEDS OR SPEEDS BETWEEN 20 -40 MPH, THE EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM WOULD ENGAGE WITHOUT WARNING AND WITHOUT AN OBJECT IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THIS WOULD CAUSE THE BRAKES TO ENGAGE, THE VEHICLE TO SHUDDER UNTIL I COULD RE-TAKE CONTROL, AND AN ERROR ALERT ON THE DASH BOARD. THE DEALER'S RECOMMENDATION WAS TO TURN OFF THE RADAR ASSISTED EMERGENCY BRAKING EVERY TIME I GOT INTO THE VEHICLE, AS IT WAS A "FLAWED TECHNOLOGY". AFTER MULTIPLE EVENTS AND TRIPS TO THE DEALER, THEY REPLACED THE PART AND UPDATED THE SOFTWARE.

After driving for awhile it will take a minute once putting foot on the gas for car to take off at a traffic light. Also malfunction error comes up on dashboard and car starts to slow down and try’s to cut off. Have to pull over and turn off the car, wait for a few minutes then restart the car.

While driving on the highway at 75 mph my Nissan Rogue lost its ability to accelerate and maintain its speed while on cruise control. The CVT transmission has abruptly become faulty and now has internal issues according to Polo S Mechanic shop. This is a 6-year-old vehicle, and no warning signs were/are present. I would like this investigated.

My car has an engine issue at 45000 miles and needs a replacement of engine. My safety was put at risk because driving a car with engine issue is very dangerous with potential brake loss. This issue was diagnosed by the official dealership. The engine light was on.

The engine block cracked, and is available for inspection. Our family’s safety was in jeopardy because the engine block crack caused dangerous engine overheating. It could have caused a dangerous breakdown. Two independent mechanics have verified the problem, and identified it as pertaining to Nissan recall NTB20-25A, but Nissan has not included our vehicle in the engine recall. The vehicle has not been inspected by anyone else other than the mechanics. The engine temperature display indicated the problem. We took the vehicle to the mechanic based on that warning sign. The problem first appeared around Jan 5th

My drivers seat moves, the back is breaking off of the bottom, as I drive the seat moves and is breaking. This is a big safety issue. I took it to Nissan and they want to charge me over $5000.00 for parts to replace the finisher, the track/ frame and the seat back. This is a 2018 vehicle, driven by a small female, with 68,000 miles. This did not break, it is a defect, and Nissan should have to look at it and repair it. 2023 Rogues have a recall for exactify what is happening to my seat, I saw a recall for 2016 and 2014 Rogues for a seat issue as well. I believe my car has a safety defect and Nissan is not willing to help me.

This is about Driver Seat making click noise under the seat whenever you break or start from a stop(accelerate from stopped position). The same click noise during driving if you break and accelerate. Its similar to noise if you click seat belt. Its something wrong going within the seat itself or seat assembly to the car's body. The seat railing itself looks good. When showed to dealer they saying some coins or objects stuck , but there are no objects stuck at railing. Found same complaints by many owners in the internet. I feel the seat may compromise on any sudden stop/break or if any accident. No other seats giving this click noise. No warning lamps on the dashboard.

Purchased a new 2018 Nissan Rogue. Purchased the Nissan Gold warranty for 7 hrs and 100,000 miles. Recently the drivers seat came very loose and was moving all directions making driving dangerous. Took the vehicle to the Nissan dealer we purchased from for repair. They reported the seat frame’ s rivets had broken and failed. Then they informed us the problem was not under warranty.cost to repair was to be 1,600 to replace the entire seat frame. The vehicle was less than 5 hrs old and mileage of 63k. Also I was told by Nissan personal that the problem was well known and a frequent safety concern, but Nissan corporation is refusing to repair or replace the seat frame, even under a very comprehensive extended warranty. I researched this type of complaint and yes it is a common problem that could lead to serious accidents. I am asking you to research this and order Nissan to fix the problems.

I have had the seat (driver) replaced by Nissan when the seat moves when accelerating and stopping that was two years ago. Now the dealership supposedly replaced the seat with a new one and this is happening again where the seat does not lock in position from moving back and forth. When you accelerate the seat moves back and if you brake the seat moves forward. This is a safety issue where the driver could possibly be injured from the seating moving unexpectedly.

The front seat rocked so bad I had to hang on to the steering wheel when braking and turning. Again, a huge safety issue. After arguing with Nissan that this was a safety issue they replaced the frame under the drivers side seat and I paid a $100.00 deductible. They said my extended warranty did not cover it, I really had to fight to get help on this. Safety issues should be covered no matter what, it's their fault. There's all kinds of complaints about this online. I should have complained a year ago to you but was unaware of the NHTSA. Sorry, I don't have documentation. Driver door will not open from outside or inside vehicle. Based on research this is an acuator issue that Nissan has known about since 2014 & failed to issue a recall. I am in the process of costly repair @ personal expense for a clear safety issue the know about & have failed to address, & would like reimbursement for. I have had to climb over/out passenger side several times to enter/exit car, thus far not being trapped, however it is not safe to not be able to quickly exit vehicle. Nor safe to manuver over console to exit this way. Nor is it safw not to be able to enter your parked vehicle. Nissan needs to issue a recall & cover repair expense on all makes/models & all doors affected, checking all 4 doirs, not just the one or 2 doors malfunctioning as this can/will affect all 4 doors.

The A/C does not work on the driver side making it impossible to defrost the windshield. The passenger side of the windshield defrosted, but not the drivers side making the vehicle impossible to drive as there was no vision for the driver. My mechanic had to disassemble the entire dashboard and found that the small plastic nob that allows the inside control to turn the air on and off had worn down. In order to drive safely, he removed the worn out piece and now the heat stays on 90 degrees and to have it turned off, he has to dismantle the entire dashboard. My husband got a quote from a dealer a year prior to his demise and it would have costs $4,000. So we resorted to drive his 2020 Nissan Rogue instead and left my vehicle parked most of the time. Now that the weather is 85+ I have to drive a vehicle that is blowing 90 on the driver and cannot be driven when raining because of the amount of steam generated due to the high temperature. At the current rate I have to have this procedure done twice a year just to drive the vehicle. I have found several videos on YouTube regarding the problem with Nissan Rogues and this particular issue. However, I can find no recall to help remedy the problem. Therefore, I am asking that Nissan find a permanent solution to this problem and have it fixed at Nissan expense. Thanks.

When using the voice control on the steering wheel of my 2018 Rogue in June 2023, the sound of my voice was not picked up by the microphone. I went online to look for recalls or repair information, and found a Reddit thread with many 2018 Rogue owners complaining of the same issue. I took the vehicle to the dealership. The dealership replicated the issue and found the Telematics Control Unit was not working. The technician also stated he has seen several of these stating, "Not a huge number, but quite a few." Since this is just one dealership, coupled with the online discussions, I believe this is a widespread problem that Nissan is aware of and has not voluntarily recalled. SAFETY: Many states have hands-free laws and the malfunctioning Telematics Control Unit does not allow the hands-free safety feature to work. Nissan is also asking $817 to rectify the issue, which could be cost prohibitive for some owners, causing them to forego the safety repair.

WHILE DRIVING MY 2018 NISSAN ROGUE TO WORK ON A SUNNY FLORIDA MORNING, I EXPERIENCED A TECHNICAL ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE AROUND 8:00 AM EST. My Car will stop suddenly, and unpredictably at various times. The car will stop and sometimes shake as it acts like its stalling out and an emergency light flashes up briefly. This has almost caused us to be in multiple wrecks. I am scared to drive this car and scared to have my children in the car. This is so unpredictable; it cannot be diagnosed at just any time. I'm not sure what to do but am super fearful this is going to cause a wreck and we could be injured and possibly injure others as this happens at any time and comes to a complete stop. Please help! This started from a few weeks after we purchased in 2021 but has got to be more frequent as of the last 3 months (2023) and worse in severity. I am very fearful.

I purchased this vehicle from carmax in November. I didn't even have it for a month and there quite a few things wrong. When I took it back to the dealership they "Couldn't recreate the problem" but wouldn't Give me Back my car. They kept it for 6 months. In that time they ended up doing a bunch of repairs, including putting in a new transmission. I have not had it back for a full week and driving to work it was very resistant to go at all. I made the mistake of getting on the freeway, where I couldn't get off until the next exit. My rpms went to and stayed at 6000 and I had no idea why and my crashing car with a star Symbol was illuminated,(and still is) for the whole way. I got off the freeway turned off my car. Turned it back on hoping this would fix the problem and drove less than 20 miles per hour the entire rest of the way to work. Even at 20 miles an hour. My RP m's were at 6000 and we're not even trying to go down.

The automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection light comes on while going down the road. One of the times that it came on it turned off cruise control and the vehicle started to slow way down and then it was like the brakes were being applied while we were on the Interstate surrounded by traffic. The vehicle then would not accelerate for a period of a couple of minutes requiring me to move over while I was in the process of trying to pass vehicles which then required drivers around me to have to slow down and avoid hitting us. The vehicle would not allow the cruise control to turn on until we finally got into a town and stopped to get something to eat. I did not report the issue to the manufacturer, police or insurance at this time. The warning light came on suddenly when the incident happened but since we had not had the vehicle that long we were not sure what it was so we had to look that up. Since then it has ran fine but the other day again while traveling down the interstate it came on again but this time there was not slowing, braking or anything as a result so don't know why it came on and it did not appear to be working correctly if it was not doing anything but flashing the warning light.

2018 Nissan Rogue SUV: Hood suddenly flew open while driving about 30-35 mph. I was able to safely pull over; although hood and fenders were damaged, I could close the hood and subsequently brought it to a Nissan dealer. A tech at the dealership identified the problem as a "frozen" (open) hood latch. I am awaiting an insurance adjuster to inspect the car. There were no warnings or any symptoms of problems prior to this incident. Had this happened at faster speeds, or on a multi-lane highway, who knows what consequences could have ensued.

The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at 60 MPH, the front interior light panel attached to the vehicle's headliner fell without warning with wire exposed. The light panel hit the right side of the contact's head which resulted in the contact suffering a minor headache, she did not seek medical attention. The contact pulled the vehicle over and was able to reattach the panel; however, the next day, the light panel fell again. The manufacturer was notified of the failure; however, the contact was informed that she could not file a complaint since the vehicle was out of warranty. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

The car has never been in an accident or flooded. Mechanics have been unable to computer diagnose the problem. Warning lights depend on what is happening at the time. However the rear camera light remains on as that feature ceased to function within days of the warranty expiring. Vehicle has begun to intermittently shake violently.Other times the RPM’s are highly erratic, revving up and slowing down or bouncing like crazy. Car sometimes looses power and acts like it is going to stall. Driving on the bridges in Charleston, especially the tallest, the car operates dangerously and unpredictably. The car cannot manage the incline without stuttering or stalling and loosing power. Again, this is not an all the time issue, but an unpredictable occurrence. The RPM gauge will hit 3-4 but the car cannot go over 20-40mph with RPM’s tacking & check engine light comes on. Stalls happen without warning and while operating at normal rates of speed. Meaning it is not a stop & start issue alone. It may happen at 70 mph on the freeway. You never know. On one occasion the push to start feature failed for hours leaving me stranded. The rear back up camera light is on and the feature no longer works. This is dangerous, not an occurrence that is exclusive to me - according to the dealership it is “A complete head scratcher. We keep seeing it. Hearing the same stories but Nissan is non-responsive to the volume of complaints on this issue.” They went on to explain that this will stress the engine and transmission and cause damage to other parts of the car. So they are aware but don’t care? That’s the translation. Moreover, Nissan is aware that this problem has a domino affect that becomes incredibly costly to their customers and that “you can fix one issue and more often than not, another occurs because of the preceding damage.” The transmission failures know to Nissan and known in the industry are life threatening.

When diving and accelerating the speed stays between 25-40 miles and will not go over 40. It seems like I have cruise control on but I don't. I have to pull over and turn the vehicle off. When I start it again it works fine. It has happened at least 10 times already. Also, when I accelerate from a stop sign the vehicle hesitates to respond, several seconds later the vehicle was fine. Turning the vehicle on/off seems to fix the problem. I'm scared to drive on the freeway. Please fix this issue.

THE DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL WILL ACCELERATE WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE STARTS TO ENTER THE LANE IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. IT WILL EVENTUALLY FULLY DETECT THE VEHICLE AND DECELERATE, BUT I USUALLY HAVE TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES TO PREVENT FROM GETTING TOO CLOSE TO THE RECENTLY MERGED CAR.

- Automatic Emergency Brake Malfunction. Was driving when suddenly without warning the vehicle started braking - flashing lights on dashboard. It all happened so fast and brief I did not see what the warning said. - At the time I did not know if it was the vehicle braking or a transmission issue, but after the event everything was back to normal. - My mechanic scanned the vehicle next morning and said there was an AEB incident recorded. - I have since turned the AEB feature off upon starting the car each time, but a warning will always pop up while driving - System Malfunction.

THIS IS A PROBLEM, IN AND OF ITSELF, BECAUSE THIS COMPONENT CAN TYPICALLY LAST FOR THE LIFETIME OF A VEHICLE EXCEPT IN CASES FOR WHICH THERE IS EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE SUCH AS AN ACCIDENT OR FLOOD, NEITHER OF WHICH HAVE BEEN THE CASE. After driving home from an appointment tonight 9/14/2024, my Nissan Rogue 2018 began shuttering, stalling and jerking. I was only 3 miles from home, and it happened all the way home, with times I didn't think the vehicle was going to restart. I was in saturday afternoon traffic and cars where swerving around me avoiding my car, and trying to not hit me. Vehile mileage is 71,256 miles and only myself as owner in it's entire history. I've had allthe oil and fluid changes necessary for it to operate. I have left a message by contacting Nissan USA, and will be contacting attorney because I am almost certain it's my CVT transmission failing.

Piston rod broke and fell through oil pan causing damage. Ultimately resulting on car shutting down on freeway and having to be towed in the early hours of the morning. This could’ve resulted in major accident putting myself and others lives in danger. I’m unsure if problem has been reproduced. Vehicle has yet to be inspected by manufacturer. There were no warnings messages or symptoms previous to what happened.

I have not had a wreck because of this, but it does affect the ability to drive this car at times. The HVAC blend door on this car will strip out and in the winter you cannot switch it from cold air to hot air. So you have to freeze while driving and if it starts sleeting or your front window starts icing up or fogging up you cannot defrost it because there is not hot air. This seems to be a common issue for Nissan Rogues as you can find many forums with people discussing this issue on different year models. I've tried using JB Weld plastic epoxy as some have mentioned to hold the motor from slipping in the hole but over time it breaks down and strips out again. The driver side wiper arm stopped working on Sunday, January 16, 2022. The wiper motor and passenger side wiper were still functioning. The wiper arm was checked for damage Thursday, January 20 and none found. The nut holding the arm to a threaded shaft was found to be very loose. The nut was tightened and the wiper arm was repaired. Today, Sunday, January 23, the defect reoccurred. The nut was tightened again. However, this defect is clearly a safety hazard given the driver's side wiper clears more than half the windshield.

The backup camera picture/screen has randomly cut out while backing up putting myself and whatever is behind me at risk for collision. In the section where it asks for the date, it's happens randomly since I bought it. Whenever I've taken it to my mechanic they have not been able to reproduce it. The emergency braking system has activated with nothing around. It's in the dealers now. It was listed as a recall on a RI safety but not associated with my vin so the nissan dealer is saying that it's not covered under recall because it shows only the brake recall. the software update is costing me 169. He says that it should fix both problems.

On Friday April 21, 2023 I was operating my vehicle with my toddler inside going about 30 miles per hour when suddenly out of no where with No Warning my vehicle beeped rapidly 5 times and as it was beeping it intensely braked itself and/or slowed down immediately while at a speed of about 30 miles per hour. It was as if my car was getting pulled backwards and immediately slowing down I had no control of my vehicle. I was driving 30 miles per hour but I had No Control Of my vehicle, Not until the vehicle was finished pulling all the way back and slowing down to about 5-10 miles per hour from 30. I had no warnings at all and at the times there were no vehicles directly in front or on the side of me. I feared for my daughters life and safety because we were on a busy road and just felt in the moment we were going to get hit from behind because my vehicle was out of my control it had a mind of its own, I couldn’t control it cuz it’s like it braked it self and at a speed of 30 it pulled back. I’m scared to drive this car now. I brought it for my growing family but it’s a danger to me and my family as well as other vehicles driving around or besides me; for these reasons I don’t trust nor want this vehicle no more. What component or system failed or malfunctioned? I believe the auto breaks/ emergency break sensors failed me How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? My safety and my toddlers safety was put at risk because we coulda got into a really bad accident injuring ourselves as well as others because the car dropped its speed and dragged and/or pulled my vehicle back intensely without warning. last year the car was taken to the local Nissan dealer, all of a sudden the car battery needs Jump; it cost me 600 dollars and now the car is doing the same again; on the Nissan blog many 2018 Rogue owners experience the same issue. also there are all kind of warning lights coming up in my instrument panel scheduled as collision warning, parking. every time experience this I have taken the vehicle to a local Nissan dealer located in Doral, Florida. I have a 5 year old son and many times the car behaves erratic fearing for the life of my son and I, not to mentioned the times the vehicle won't start at a parking lot.

Used key fob to unlock driver's door. Would not work. Used valet key. Started car, open drivers window and notice that nothing else in the cabin was operational. A/C would not turn on, could not put it in gear. Radio wouldn't function. The dash and console were dark. No message flashed. Couldn't exit the car as door wouldn't open. However, THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO RUN. Hung out open door to unlock with valet key. Called AAA, they couldn't stop engine from running and stated they weren't "authorized" to do anything else. Called Nissan emergency number and person came out and couldn't shut off engine and finally had to disconnect the alternator to stop car from running. After reconnecting the alternator, he could not start car. I called a tow truck the next morning and at that time, the car started. Nissan service garage couldn't replicate that problem except said that the actuator in the door had failed and needed replaced - but that wouldn't cause the other issues. They had car for over a week and could not replicate the problem of the car engine running while every other car function was not operational. The car has only 3824 miles on it although it is a 2018. This is a major safety issue. Contacted Nissan Customer Care Service. Since the problem wasn't replicated, they said they couldn't help. I feel unsafe and won't drive car due to no one being able to explain why that happened or whether it will happen again.

I received a Chassis Control System Error. When I tried to restart my car after it randomly shut off. I’ve had the car check and they thought it was the battery they did a check and the battery’s and all the parts are fine. They couldn’t find the problem, this is dangerous because car stopped while driving.

MY NISSAN ROGUE HAS EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE 3 TIMES IN A 2 MONTH PERIOD. 1ST TIME - DRIVING, CROSSING A BUSY INTERSECTION FRONT END SHUDDERED, SHOOK HEAVILY, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT TO LOCAL MECHANIC WHO RAN DIAGNOSTICS AND STATED THERE WERE TOO MANY CODES REGARDING THE ELECTRIC SYSTEM AND RECOMMENDED I TAKE IT TO DEALERSHIP. TOOK IT TO LOCAL DEALER, DIAGNOSTICS WERE RUN AGAIN, AND THEY REPORTED THEY WERE NOT SURE OF THE ISSUE, SUSPECTED DAMAGE TO THE MAF SENSOR (WHICH WAS THEN THROWING OFF THE REPORT OF ALL OTHER SENSORS). THEY REPLACED IT WITH NISSAN MANUFACTURED PART AND ELECTRIC TAPE AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS GOOD TO GO. 2ND TIME - STATIONARY MAKING A LEFT ONTO BUSY MAIN STREET, CAR SHUDDERED, STALLED, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMPLETELY STOPPED. UNABLE TO DRIVE IT, WHEN CHANGING GEARS IT JUST COASTED BACKWARDS (DUE TO THE HILL I WAS ON). HAD IT TOWED TO THE SAME DEALER, TOLD THE SAME THING AS PREVIOUS VISIT 'NOT SURE WHAT'S WRONG, PROBABLY THE SENSOR,' WAS TOLD THEY REPLACED IT AGAIN WITH NISSAN MANUFACTURED PART AND 'TAPED UP REAL GOOD THIS TIME.' HOWEVER COULD NOT GUARANTEE IT WOULDN'T HAPPEN AGAIN, ALSO STILL NO IDEA WHAT EXACTLY CAUSED THE STALLING. 3RD TIME- DRIVING STRAIGHT AFTER BEING STOPPED AT RES LIGHT, CAR STALLS, ENGINE LIGHT BACK ON, AND UNABLE TO DRIVE IT. In sum, vehicle was traveling at 35mph with no obstructions or vehicles in the front of my vehicle and forward collision warning activated, bringing vehicle to a complete stop. Breaks squealed and tire rubber burned onto pavement. Seatbelt clenched torso, leaving bruise on collar bone. Another occurrence was similar in speed, with no obstacles or vehicles in front of mine. The forward collision warning began beeping but not displaying any visuals or breaking vehicle.

I RECENTLY PURCHASED MY 2018 NISSAN ROGUE IN AUGUST OF 2020 AND AS OF MARCH 2021, I'VE HAD 5 INSTANCES WHERE THE FRONT RADAR SYSTEM FOR THE CRUISE CONTROL FEATURE MALFUNCTIONED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE FRONT RADAR SENSOR IS PART OF THE INTELLIGENT FORWARD WARNING SYSTEM IN NISSANS AND ITS JOB IS TO DETECT THE DISTANCE BETWEEN VEHICLES. THE SENSOR IS TIED TO THE CRUISE CONTROL AND EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM. THE FAULT CONSISTS OF A FRONT RADAR OBSTRUCTION WARNING LIGHT MALFUNCTION ILLUMINATING LEADING TO THE DISENGAGEMENT OF THE CRUISE CONTROL FEATURE (IF ENGAGED PRIOR TO THE MALFUNCTION) OR THE CRUISE CONTROL FEATURE AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM BECOMING DISABLED. ALSO, WHEN THE FAULT APPEARS, THE BRAKES ARE ABRUPTLY APPLIED BEFORE BEING RELEASED WHICH IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE ESPECIALLY WHEN DRIVING DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER AS YOUR RELYING ON THE INTEGRITY OF YOUR BRAKING SYSTEM. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY MENTIONED THAT THERE WERE NO CURRENT RECALLS IN PLACE FOR THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE AND THAT THE SYSTEM WOULD NEED TO BE UPDATED WITH THE LATEST SOFTWARE UPDATE TO SEE IF THE PROBLEM IS CORRECTED. I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY APPROXIMATELY $150 TO INSTALL THE UPDATE TO THE SYSTEM, WHICH TO ME SHOULD BE COVERED BY THE COMPANY DUE TO IMPLIED SAFETY ISSUES. I WAS SURPRISED TO HEAR THAT A RECALL WAS NOT IN PLACE FOR THIS SYSTEM, CONSIDERING THIS HAS BEEN A KNOWN ISSUE SINCE 2014 AND YET THE NISSAN COMPANY HAS YET TO ISSUE ANY TYPE OF SAFETY RECALL FOR THE ROGUE MODELS, HENCE MY SAFETY COMPLAINT. DURING THE SECOND VISIT, THE DEALER CALIBRATED THE EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING UNTIL IT STORED THE FAILURE INFORMATION. BOUGHT THIS CAR BE WITH 42 MILES ON IT. ABOUT A MONTH AFTER I BOUGHT IT THE AEB SYSTEM STARTED ACTIVATING AND SLAMMING THE BRAKES WHEN NOTHING WAS IN FRONT OF ME. I HAD NEVER HAD A CAR WITH THIS FEATURE BEFORE. I LATER GOT A NOTICE TO BRING IT IN TO A DEAL FOR AN UPDATE BEFORE THE WARRANTY WENT OUT. THE CAR IS NOW OUT OF WARRANTY AND HAS BEGUN DOING THE SAME THING AGAIN. I WAS DRIVING 65 ON THE INTERSTATE WITH NO TRAFFIC OR OBSTACLES IN FRONT OF ME. THE WARNING SYSTEM WENT OFF THEN IMMEDIATELY ACTIVATES THE BRAKES SLOWING ME DOWN TO 40 MILES AN HOUR. THANKFULLY THE CAR BEHIND ME WAS ABLE TO REACT IN TIME TO SWERVE AND MISS ME. THIS VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH A FRONT RADAR SYSTEM WHICH WILL APPLY EMERGENCY BREAKING IF OBJECTS ARE SENSED TO BE IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WHILE IT'S IN MOTION. ON JAN 29, 2019, MY VEHICLE ENGAGED EMERGENCY BRAKING WHILE I WAS CROSSING A RAILROAD CROSSING ON A ROUGH CITY STREET. THE VEHICLE BEGAN BEEPING, CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP, THE BRAKE PEDAL AUTOMATICALLY PRESSED ALL THE WAY DOWN, AND WOULD NOT DRIVE UNTIL I PRESSED THE BRAKE. THIS LEFT ME SITTING ON AN ACTIVE RAIL CROSSING WITH A VEHICLE COMING UP BEHIND ME. THIS SIMILAR SITUATION HAS HAPPENED TO ME SEVERAL OTHER TIMES WHILE CROSSING UNDER BRIDGES AND ENTERING PARKING GARAGES BUT IN THOSE CASES, ONLY LIGHT BRAKING OCCURRED AND I WAS ABLE TO PROCEED WITHOUT NEEDING TO PRESS THE BRAKE.

THE AEB SYSTEM IS MALFUNCTIONING. ON MULTIPLE OCCASSIONS THE CAR SUDDENLY BREAKS EVENTHOUGH THERE IS NOTHING IN FRONT OF THE CAR. IT HAS ONLY HAPPENED TO ME WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY - GENERALLY THE ROADS ARE CLEAR. ON ONE OF THE MULTIPLE OCCASSIONS, CLEARING THE RADAR OF BUG SPLATTER SOLVED THE PROBLEM. ON ALL THE OTHER OCCASSIONS, THERE WAS NO OBSTRUCTION TO THE RADAR. THE BRAKES COME ON, THE AEB LIGHT ON THE CONSOLE COMES ON, A WARNING FLASHES, AND THEN THE CAR MOVES ON AS IF NOTHING HAPPENED. AFTER DOING THIS SEVERAL TIMES OVER SEVERAL MILES, THE AEB LIGHT COMES ON AND IT DESPLAYS AN ERROR MESSAGE ABOUT THE FRONT RADAR IS NOT WORKING AND THE CRUISE IS DISABLED. ON ONE OF THE OCCASSIONS A LARGE PICKUP TRUCK TOWING A TRAILER WAS RIGHT BEHIND ME WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY PUT ON THE BRAKES. FORTUNATELY, HE WAS ABLE TO STOP BEFORE HITTING MY CAR. WHEN I HAD THE CAR SERVICED AT THE DEALER, I TOLD THE SERVICE REP ABOUT THE ISSUE. HE INDICATED THAT A SHADOW OR SOMETHING LIKE A LEAF BLOWN ACROSS THE RADAR CAN CAUSE IT TO REACT. I DID NOT NOTICE ANY OCCRENCE OF SUCH. I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED THAT SOMEONE FOLLOWING TO CLOSE WILL END UP RAMMING ME IN THE REAR END. AFTER DOING AN INTERNET SEARCH, I HAVE FOUND MULTIPLE OCCURENCES OF THIS PROBLEM AND THAT NISSAN HAS SENT OUT SEVERAL TECHNICAL BULLETINS ABOUT THE PROBLEM. AS NOTED ABOVE, THERE HAVE BEEN MULTIPLE EVENTS OF THIS TYPE. IT TYPICALLY HAPPENS ON THE HIGHWAY.

THE MOST RECENT SPECIFIC INCIDENT OCCURRED ON NOVEMBER 22, 2019 AT 12:20PM IN CLEAR DAYLIGHT WHILE DRIVING ON PAVED ROAD, CITY STREET, NOT TURNING. THE RATE OF SPEED WAS APPROXIMATELY 15MPH AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO IMMEDIATELY STOP. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED MY MILEAGE WAS 3000+. THE SECOND TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH IN A RESIDENTIAL NEIGHBORHOOD. MY MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 4,200. The contact stated that she had used the key fob to open the tailgate. While at the halfway point, the tailgate failed to shut. The reset button was depressed, but it failed to work. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact sustained an injury to her head; there was a bump and bleeding, but medical attention was not provided. The contact called the local dealer, who informed her the recall had been previously repaired. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the hatch failed to close and the rear hatch shock spindle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, who referred her to the local dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer later informed her they would provide fifty percent of the repairs. The failure mileage was approximately 24,800.

The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving approximately 15 MPH and slowing for a traffic signal, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated the "AEB Malfunction" and the symbol of a rear end collision warning was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent, however the failure had become a recurring failure. Additionally, the contact stated that the RPM was fluctuating however, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the ADAS control module and AEB system needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 96,000.

THE ACCELERATION STALLS HAVE ALMOST CAUSED ABOUT THREE ACCIDENTS SO FAR IN BUSY INTERSECTIONS IN NORTH JERSEY. I HAVE BROUGHT THE SUV INTO NISSAN SERVICE CENTER THREE DIFFERENT TIMES AND THEIR RESPONSE WAS, 'SCANNED VEHICLE, NO DTC CODES FOUND AT THIS TIME NPF NO PROBLEM FOUND AT THIS TIME'. I HAVE MULTIPLE VIDEO DOCUMENTATION SHOWING A HIGH RPM OF 3-4 WHILE VEHICLE'S MPH IS BARELY PASSING 20MPH, RESULTING TO THE ENGINE CHECK LIGHT APPEARING AND THE MALFUNCTION ERROR MESSAGE ILLUMINATING ON THE DASHBOARD.

Out of the blue my vehicle suddenly displayed a "Warning Malfunction" and a symbol that indicated it was related to the blind spot warning system. The car was being driven on a straight side road without any other traffic at the time. The problem is intermittent. It was seen by the dealer and they confirmed that the problem is with the side radar control unit. The dealer also indicated that it is not under warranty (the vehicle has 38K miles on it). Searching online it appears to be a known issue, but no recall yet provided. I strongly believe this is a safety issue, as the sightlines of the car seemed to be a secondary thought since the system was installed. No accident was involved. The car still needs this to be corrected, and we will try to get recourse from the dealership where we purchased the vehicle second hand.

Backup camera shuts off. Occasionally when backing up using the rear camera assistant (built into the infotainment screen) the system will shutoff and display the Bluetooth song which is playing. This is dangerous because, a) that camera is there for our safety, and b) its hard to see if anything has moved directly behind the car in the time it takes for the driver to transition from the backup screen to the mirrors.

On June 10, 2021, I was driving my vehicle preparing to merge on the interstate to go home when all of a sudden the AEB Warning light activates and I cannot not safely drive my vehicle. My vehicle speed would not increase above 3mph. I had the vehicle towed to my home. Today I contacted the dealership requesting that they have my vehicle towed for service and a loaner (as this is my only means of transportation) and was informed that I would be responsible for the tow, that it would be 3 to 4 days before they could run diagnostics and they have no loaner. My reality is if I had merged onto the interstate and this happened, I could either be dead or lying in the Intensive Care Unit.

At March 23rd, 2024, we have oil change on the car. The service sales came back to tell us that the front lower control arms' bushing is torn and needed repair immediately. Without repairing them, the wheels may disengage from the car. So we have them replaced, since losing the wheels during driving will cost our lives. This is for our safety. What can we do???!!! On conversation with the sales, he said this is a common phenomenon. Our problem on this is that, all the cars that we have owned, we never had the issue. This is the first time. Is this a common occurrence? We are not sure. And we simply can not understand why eight months ago during another oil change, this issue was not detected?! Could this be a faulty component installed on the car, we questioned? We also contacted Nissan consumer affairs. Their specialist insisted our car is out of warranty. There is nothing they can do. Is this a responsible car manufacturer's response? At least, they should look in the issue and gave us a satisfying answer, we believed. Anyway, please look into this. On the parts that were replaced, dealership has them. We don't have them in our hand.Sorry about this. All and all, please look into the issue. We just want other Rogue owners spared of the issue! The shoulder strap cuts across my neck. While I'm driving I have to take one hand off the steering wheel to push it down, only to have it slide right back up across my neck. Every time I hit a bump or pot hole, the strap cuts into my neck. There will be a serious injury if I'm in an accident. Also, the suspension is so bad on this car that I feel every bump, and pot hole, and my head keeps hitting the headset. I was told the headset cannot be adjusted. My passenger has long legs. The passenger seat will not go back any further so he sits with legs bent in cramped position. The visor when pulled down is right in my eyes. If I brake suddenly and my head goes forward, it hits my eyes. I will be seriously injured if in a car accident. On turns, especially if there's even a little water, the back wheels of this car skid.

We have had a gas smell in our garage, outside the car and inside the cabin and inside our house since 2022 and the service technician confirmed it but said I'd have to pay $160 for them to diagnose it plus parts and labor to fix it. There are lots of "Nissan Rogue gas smell in cabin" complaints AND there is a class action lawsuit filed on the 2020-2023 models. I've seen the same complaints as far back as 2009 so they have been alerted and know about this faulty assembly problem for years and have not taken responsibility for fixing it. We've gotten used to it and a neighbor came over yesterday and said he was getting nauseated from the smell in our living area so I put it out in driveway and this a.m. it wasn't as bad. It's a health and fire hazard and we have gas stove. I'm not sure if local TV Action Reporter could get anything done or if we should hire a lawyer. People walking up to my car exclaim "I smell gas!" No warnings on dash. It seems to be faulty assembly of fuel line to tank or in that area as it's strongest in back seat. My wife has MGUS, arthritis and other medical problems and this is causing a lot of mental stress worrying that the car will catch on fire while we're in it! I will Never buy another Nissan now that I see that they don't care what happens once you buy it! Please answer asap as we use it everyday and don't want cancer, etc. from inhaling gas fumes. Purely breathing the fumes (gasoline inhalation) can result in the following symptoms: coughing and other breathing difficulties, headaches/dizziness, heart failure, and more. Because of how the hydrocarbons attack the nervous system, a wide range of symptoms is possible, but they can all eventually be deadly.

So the CVT transmission on my 2018 Nissan Rouge has begun to fail. I ask my personal mechanic and took it to Star Nissan in Illinois and both said that the transmission is wearing out quicker than normal, they suggested I see if it had been recalled, and to my surprise, it hasn't and they are guessing that the transmission was worn out before I bought it. They were recalled for the same problem but were never taken. The bad thing is that there is no error or light that says the transmission is failing. I drive with the car on a daily and risk my life and others just cause the car doesn't move and I need to turn it off and turn it back on so it resets. The car smells like burning metal from the transmission. When I go 20 the rpms hit 5000 which should be normal.

Since I bought the car numerous times(over 50) the car stops or the brakes activate automatically for no apparent reason. Three times my daughter came extremely close to getting into a major accident being that the car behind literally touched the back bumper. I’m afraid of letting my daughter drive it as the car was bought for her, as I’m afraid she’ll get into an accident. Took the car three times to Nissan service as was told this problem is a normal occurrence with this car model and MissN k owns about it but won’t do anything to solve the problem as of yet. I was told that they could replace the “laser” for $2100 which I would have to pay for but there is no guarantee that it would solve the problem. When I asked what are my options besides that I was told to trade the car in and buy another one as if I have the luxury of just buying another car. This issue was reported first in 2019 by other drivers who had the same issue and there are lawsuits going on at the moment by people that got into accidents because of this and still Nissan won’t do anything about it. We need help in order for them to formally recall these models so we can avoid more accidents. Please help!!!!

On 12/17/2022 I was driving 45 mph down a straight road. Suddenly the vehicle swerved left into oncoming traffic (so I was face to face with another vehicle), then swerved right very hard and then left again. My car was its two left tires only for a few seconds during this time. After it swerved across the lane 3 times, I was able to control the steering wheel again. I just missed the car in the opposing lane and my car was also heading towards a telephone poll before I regained the ability to control the car again. During this incident my steering wheel was straight the whole time and did not control the vehicle. I did not hit the brakes or acceleration for fear of a rollover because it was swerving so hard. There were no warning lights on the dashboard during this time or after the incident. About 3 minutes before this incident occurred, my car did something similar and swerved hard to the right while the steering wheel was straight and I did not have control of the steering for a few seconds. Mechanics in the area were called and mentioned that it could be the steering motor that could be failing but were unable to look at the vehicle. I had a mechanic come to my house and he said he could not find a error code on my vehicle's system. The car has not been driven since the incident.

My car was in a collision and it is a total loss. The accident was a head collision on with a parked car, the airbags to not deploy during the accident. This is a safety issue I am very concerned about due to the damage to the car.

The backup camera periodically freezes when you put the vehicle in reverse. Other times, the screen will stay black or just show the Nissan logo until you cycle power. The safety of all inside the vehicle and around the vehicle is at risk when the backup camera feed freezes, especially if the operator doesn't realize the feed is frozen. This vehicle is currently operated outside of the US but will be available for inspection upon return. The issue is intermittent so it has not been reproduced in the presence of any service center. There were no warning messages involved.

The contact owns a 2018 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds the crash avoidance system became inoperable. While reversing there was no alert of a person behind the vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where informed about the diagnostic fees. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure after several road tests. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but, no further assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 25,000.

Vehicle is three years old. Never used the spare previously. Had a nail in the tire, so called Nissan Care to come and change it. Nissan Care arrived, used the spare that came with the vehicle and changed the tire. Immediately upon driving it, my wife heard weird noises, including grinding under her feet and grinding near the front right of the vehicle. Some knowledgeable car experts at her work told her she needs to get it checked out. She drove on it for less than 15 minutes before hearing a loud pop from the back, at which point the vehicle started smoking. She drove it to a nearby dealer. The dealer indicated the spare tire was not the same size as the others and because the vehicle has an intelligent all wheel drive system, this caused the rear differential to explode. Nissan RO # 6112906 is the reference number at Martin Nissan in Skokie, IL.

WHILE TURNING ON AN OFF RAMP THE STEERING GAVE OUT AND LOCKED, CAUSING THE CAR TO DRIVE DIRECTLY INTO THE GUARD RAIL. YES THE CAR WAS MOVING BUT STEALTHILY AS I SLOWED DOWN TO MAKE THE TURN. THE CAR WAS THROWN FROM THE LEFT GUARD RAIL TO THE RIGHT SIDE CAUSING EXTENSIVE DAMAGE AND NO AIRBAG DEPLOYED IN THE EVENT OF THIS CRASH. THE CAR WAS NO LONGER ABLE TO MOVE FROM SUCH A DRASTIC ACCIDENT AND YET IT WAS NOT ENOUGH FOR THE AIRBAGS TO EVEN ATTEMPT TO SAVE OUR LIVES. THERE WERE KIDS IN THE CAR! AS SOON AS I DID, THE CAR BEGAN TO ROLL BACKWARDS AND HIT A TREE. THE CAR DOOR PUSHED ME DOWN THE DRIVEWAY. THANKFULLY, I WAS ABLE TO GET LEAP FREE, JUST AS THE CAR REALLY PICKED UP SPEED. IT FINALLY CRASHED INTO A TREE IN MY NEIGHBOR'S YARD, LANDING OVER A DRAINAGE DITCH B/W OUR HOMES. THERE WERE ONLY MINOR INJURIES. THE CARSEAT HEADREST BROKE. AND OTHER ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. BROUGHT THE ROGUE BACK TO LEBRUN 5 MORE TIMES TO GET THESE NOTICEABLE VIBRATIONS CORRECTED. BOTH THE OWNER & NISSAN FACTORY REP.DROVE THE CAR AND BOTH AGREED THAT I HAD VIBRATIONS IN THE STEERING WHEEL, ETC. WHY? THEIR ANSWERS WERE: "IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE TRANSMISSION." LUCKILY NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME. THAT HAPPENED IN MAY 2019. I WAS TERRIFIED TO DRIVE AND USED MY HUSBAND'S CAR. I LOOKED UP AND THEY SAID IF ABS LIGHTS YOU SHOULD NOT DRIVE AND HAVE IT TOWED BECAUSE IT COULD START A FIRE! THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND I WAS ON A SIDE STREET GOING 40 MPH AND IT BRAKED TO 30 AND THERE WASN'T ANYTHING IN FRONT OF ME. I DON'T WANT TO DRIVE THIS CAR AT ALL. I WANT THEM TO JUST TAKE IT BACK. TROUBLE WITH THE ELECTRONICS FROM NEW. OCCASIONALLY WHEN I HANG UP THE PHONE ON BLUETOOTH, THE RADIO VOLUME IS FULL BLAST. IT DOES ADJUST THE VOLUME AFTER A COUPLE SECONDS. SO I MENTIONED IT AND THE 'ADVISORY' CARD I RECEIVED FROM NISSAN WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN FOR THE 15K OIL CHANGE. THE DEALER TOLD ME THEY DID A SW UPGRADE AND ALL WAS WELL. DRIVING THE CAR THE NEXT DAY AND THE POWER STEERING WAS OUT (WARNING LIGHT ON), AEB WARNING LIGHT ON AND THE CLIMATE CONTROL WAS COMPLETELY BLACK. TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHERE IT HAS BEEN FOR OVER TWO WEEKS NOW. THEY SAID THEY HAVE TRIED NEW COMPUTER MODULES, BUT CANNOT SEEM TO GET IT RESOLVED. CAR WAS BOUGHT IN MARCH 2018. AROUND 1 MONTH INTO DRIVING THE CAR THE RADIO AND DASH DISPLAY STARTING DOING ITS OWN THING. ONE WOULD SAY RADIO ON, THE OTHER RADIO OFF. AT TIMES, THE CONNECTION MENU WOULD COME AND FREEZE. GOT INTO THE CAR AND STARTED IT AND THE CD STARTED PLAYING LOUDLY, WHICH WAS STRANGE AS WHEN I PARKED AND GOT OUT OF THE CAR I ALWAYS TURN THE RADIO OFF. BLIND SPOT INDICATOR FAILED SEVERAL TIMES WHEN PASSING A TRACTOR TRAILER. WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT WITH A STORM COMING THE HEADLIGHTS AND DASH LIGHTS WENT OUT ALONG WITH LIGHTS GOING DIM FOR NO REASON SEVERAL OTHER TIMES. HAD ONE INSTANCE WHEN PULLED THE WIPERS TO CLEAN THE WINDSHIELD, THE SPRAYER WORKED BUT THE WIPERS DID NOT. ALOT OF ELECTRICAL ISSUES. TOOK TO DEALER 4 TIMES IN A MONTH SO THEY COULD "DUPLICATE" THE PROBLEMS, I ADVISED THAT THERE IS NO PATTERN TO THESE PROBLEMS. THEY TOLD ME TO CALL NISSAN USA IN TENNESSEE, I DID AND WENT BACK AND FORTH AND THEY SENT A NISSAN TECH TO THE DEALERSHIP. HE DIDN'T DRIVE THE CAR AND ADVISED WE DELETE ALL PHONES FROM THE CAR AND DRIVE IT THAT WAY FOR A FEW WEEKS. ALL PROBLEMS STILL GOING ON. NISSAN USA CALLED TODAY AND SAID TO GO BACK TO THE DEALER, THE CASE IS CLOSED AND THE DEALER MAYBE CAN WORK WITH US ON IT. THEY REASSURED ME THAT WE STILL HAVE THE WARRANTY SO THESE PROBLEMS ARE STILL COVERED. ALL INSTANCES HAPPENED WHETHER DRIVING, STARTING OR PARKING THE CAR. SO 4 TRIPS, 2 RENTAL CARS AND 2 DAYS OF MISSED WORK IN A MONTH AND DRIVING WHAT WE FEEL IS AN UNSAFE CAR.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 NISSAN ROGUE. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE BRAKES ENGAGED WITHOUT WARNING OR MANUAL PRESSURE. THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES ENGAGED AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED FORWARD FOUR TIMES. IN ADDITION, AN UNKNOWN ORANGE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE DOORS LOCKED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BACK PAINS AND WHIPLASH, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER (SOUTH SHORE NISSAN, 200 SUNRISE HWY, AMITYVILLE, NY 11701, 516-366-3503) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT DECLINED TO TAKE POSSESSION OF THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THERE WAS NO GUARANTEE THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: [XXX], BUT NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. TL* THE CONTACT LEASED A 2018 NISSAN ROGUE. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THERE WAS NO WARNING MESSAGE DISPLAYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FUCCILLO NISSAN (3893 NY-31, LIVERPOOL, NY 13090, 315-944-3200) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN REPROGRAMMED THE COMPUTER AND THE INDICATOR DIMMED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL SENDING UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE PART WAS UNAVAILABLE AND WOULD BE AVAILABLE IN APPROXIMATELY ONE MONTH. THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED A LOANER VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 258.
