The Forward Collision Warning Light keeps flashing on the dash. It will not go away. It came on randomly. The FCW sensor looks okay from a quick glance. Wanting Nissan to issue a recall for this super common and annoying issue that puts us at risk for random breaking.

On a clear sunny day, while driving around 40 mph with no traffic in front or behind me my Automatic Emergency Braking activated for a instant and then released. If I had been in traffic such as driving through Dallas at 70 mph or more, I might have been rear ended. It scared me. I can imagine what a car behind me would have done with the car in front hitting their break for no reason. There was no warning.

When driving the forward collision warning will flash and beep and immediately brake and causes the car to come to a complete stop, when there is nothing in front of the car. It could cause an accident. I believe the forward collision warning sensor has failed. This has happened several times and it’s not safe for me or others around. I’ve started turning off the forward collision to avoid being in a accident.

I am writing what I think is a safety issue on a 2020 Nissan Rogue S. Left my house to go to a local store. When I park, I normally press the internal lock button and not the lock button on fob. I exited the vehicle and closed the door. Came back to vehicle, for some reason I just grabbed the door, not using the key fob, nor the ignition key to enter, and the driver side door opened. I questioned myself what just happened. I did not think much of it. Well I made another stop. I parked, pressed internal button, exited and closed door. I came back and pull driver side door handle and the door was unlocked again. So while parked I tried to diagnosis why the door was unlocked again. I used the internal lock button first, all but the driver side door lock, I used the lock button on the key fob, same thing. tried the ignition key, it would lock and unlock. So when I got home I tried to get it to work again, but to no avail. I tried looking in the vehicle setting, watch you tube videos etc. I even disconnected and reconnected the battery. Nothing worked, Got online and saw a lot of people were having the issue due to door lock actuator failing on Rogues. So I called my nearest Nissan dealership and told them my problem. They could get me in on July 17, 2025 at 8:00 a.m. and it would take several hours to diagnosis. The diagnosis was the actuator failed but power was going to it. To fix it it will cost $905. This is why I am writing you. I think it is a safety issue that needs to be address. If people don't know the vehicle is unlocked there could be some of type of thief or a person could be in your car when you returned. If the door was in the locked position while in the vehicle and you need to get out in an emergency you have to exit another door, which you might not have enough time to do so. If you are trying to enter the vehicle for an emergency and the door stays locked that a safety issue. This is a safety issue and should be recalled. Thank you for your time.

My sunroof is leaking I took it to the dealers to get fixed, but it’s still doing the same thing. I made a claim at Nissan Corporate but every time the rainfall I go to the car wash inside of the front is full of water. at my son said the car smells mold my claim nunders is 51832282

Key FOB and door lock/unlock function failure. Driver side rear door is locked and cannot be unlocked with FOB or manually. In an emergency a passenger in that seat position could be in a life threatening situation. Problem noted on 07/07/2024 (Sunday) and has not been reported to dealership yet. No one has inspected vehicle as of 07/07/2024. There had been one incident a few days previous where driver door would not unlock via FOB or from front passenger lock switch. Door was finally opened by passenger reaching across and hitting door switch on driver side. No warning lamps noted during these events.

On May 17, 2024 my 2020 Nissan Rogue malfunctioned after the ignition button was pressed to start the car, and burst into flames. 1.What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Unknown but fire began in the upper left quadrant area of engine. 2.How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? It was a fire with the potential to cause an explosion. 3.Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center?No. 4.Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Car inspected by insurance. Manufacturer was notified. 5.Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Once the ignition button was pressed a barrage of warning lights came on including: brake failure, headlight failure, chassis control failure. The smell of smoke was detectable immediately.

The rear windshield of my car blew out overnight. Police came and determined there was no vandalism, it blew out. My car had been parked for at least 12 hours, with no shifts in temperature. Upon doing a google search and speaking to people on message boards, it seems this is quite a common issue on this car, with the damage presenting in the exact same way. Two holes on either side of the windshield with everything else shattered. Thankfully I wasn't driving at the time, but I did speak to one person who was. I attempted to speak with Nissan but they told me it was not under warranty and basically not their problem. No warning indicators or anything else that would have warned of issue.

Our 2020 Nissan Rouge SV has experienced a failure of the driver door electric door actuator. It will not lock using the electric door lock buttons inside the car, the button on the exterior door handle, or using the FOB. The result is that you think the car is locked, but the driver door is NOT locked and opening the door causes the car alarm to go off (the car thinks it is locked). The lock can be manually locked and unlocked using the manual actuator (inside the car on the handle). This problem is described on the internet and there is at least one class action lawsuit in discussion (https://sauderschelkopf.com/automotive/nissan-altima-and-rogue-door-lock-failure-class-action-investigation/). This failure could result in safety issues (thinking the door is locked when it is not) both while driving at highway speeds or during an emergency exit scenario where you cannot unlock the door. I think it should be a mandatory recall to fix these door locks by Nissan. In the meantime, I will try to "fix" it in our car (but will save the bad parts). I have not contacted my dealer (don't really like them). There were no warnings other than we started setting off the car alarm when we opened the door that should have been locked.

The car door lock actuator failed prematurely. Part should last 10 to 20 years. It's not locking the door or if it is locked it won't let you in or out. Big issue regarding safety. I know past models had a recall. Unfortunately haven't heard anything on it for my model year. Getting repair done for my own safety out of pocket.

THE VEHICLE HAS ACTIVATED A FALSE AEB ON SEVERAL OCASSIONS SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT BACK TO NISSAN AND THEY STATED THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND THE VEHICLE SEEMED TO HAVE NO ISSUES. I'VE HAD THE VEHICLE FOR 5 YEARS AND IT CONTINUES TO OCCUR, NEARLY CAUSING A TRAFFIC COLLISION.

I was driving at around 20 mph when the AEB warning light came on, a MALFUNCTION light came on, and the vehicle brakes locked up. I put the vehicle into neutral and shut it off. I then started it back up. The MALFUNCTION light was still on, the AEB warning light was still on. I was able to put it in drive and move it. I'm terrified if this happens again especially if I am on the highway when it happens. I took the vehicle to the dealer and they said they don't know why it happened and can't explain the warning lights.

While backing out of the driveway or driving forward, the automatic brake engages without warning and without cause. Because of this, I was practically rear ended when driving forward. When backing out of the driveway, the suddenness and the shock of the incident was particularly alarming to my wife who was a passenger in the car , who has a history of having suffered 2 heart attacks. On the first report of the incident, the dealership replaced the sensors on the car. I recently took the car back to the dealership and they are saying they can't reproduce the problem. The warnings, a beeping noise, come at the same time as the engine shuts off.

In October of 2022, While I was driving my 2020 Rogue on a country road to a school event for my granddaughter, the car made a soft bell sound then it immediately slammed on the brakes for no reason that I can understand. I immediately pulled the car off the road. It showed a triangle with an exclamation point within it in the dash display. I shut the car off and when I restarted it the triangle was gone and it drove ok. I later read online that this could be an AEB issue. It was a clear day with no rain and no cars close in front and, luckily, behind me. It scared the hell out of my wife and I. I no longer feel safe in the car if it can do this for no reason! I brought the car into a Nissan Dealer to have it checked on 10/20/22. They did not find any problems with it. They also did not see any fault codes that something happened within the vehicle's memory. I find it unbelievable that the car did not record the fault. To me this means that Nissan has deliberately disabled this function for this fault. I have done a lot of research and apparently this is a well known issue with Nissan vehicles, not just the rogues. I have also read that there are 2 class action suits against Nissan for this. I brought the vehicle in again in Jan 2023 to get the car checked again for the False Activation of AEB, FEB, or FCW. This time I asked to have it checked per NTB18-041D and reprogrammed to the latest software and/or any required hardware to fix this well known issue. They said this NTB was not for my rogue and did not fix it. I have read that this is normal for this defect shown in the NTB. I am still afraid to drive this car and have only driven it about 400 miles since it was looked at. And now I only drive it with the AEB disabled as I was instructed by a tech in the service dept. I would really like to be able to use the AEB safety feature without fear of it falsely locking up the brakes while I'm driving. This Rogue only has 6835 miles on it.

The contact owned a 2020 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving approximately 20 MPH during rush hour traffic, the contact became aware of a chemical odor, and within seconds there was black smoke entering the cabin of the vehicle. The contact immediately pulled over and there were flames coming from under the hood. The contact stated that there was a MIL warning light illuminated after the flames started. The contact was locked and trapped inside the burning vehicle. The contact was frantically trying to roll the windows down because the vehicle failed to turn off. The contact was then able to roll the rear driver’s side window down and a bystander was able enter into the rear driver side window, unlock the door, and pull the contact from the vehicle. The Fire Department was called to the scene and extinguished the fire. The vehicle was first towed to Redmond Towing in Alexandria VA and was deemed to be a total loss. A Police Department and Fire Department report was taken at the scene. The contact refused treatment at the scene but was later taken to Urgent Care by her husband to be treated for smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The local dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 27,000.

There were no warning lights prior to the failure. There were no reported injuries. The fire department was able to extinguish the fire. There was no reported crash, police report, or air bag deployment. The local dealer was not notified. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. July 1,2025 my car came to a complete stop heading to work and turned off due to engine malfunction. The engine light is the only light that lights up. I called Nissan they stated that currently they had an open recall that will go into effect in August due to engine failures. By Thursday state wide announcement was made on the radio that there is a recall on Nissan rogues and other models for failure engine. I have had my car for 3 years and this is a 2020 year of make. I am highly disappointed bc I have been without a car since July 1st. I want it to be known that the 2020 of Nissan rogue is affected by engine failure as well. And I am looking forward to receiving a notice from Nissan as stated end of august for diagnosis and repair.

I was driving with my grandbaby when I heard a noise coming from the passenger side front wheel. I had it towed to Hudson Nissan and was told my transmission need to be replaced. I never got any warning signs nor did my vehicle appear to drive differently.

The contact stated that while driving at 55 MPH, a 2006 Harley Davidson Dyna Glide Custom motorcycle crossed the center line and crashed head-on into her vehicle. There were no warning lights illuminated. The driver-side skirt air bag was deployed. The driver sustained concussions, burns, shoulder, a back pain, and bruises. The front passenger was her son who sustained bruises from his shoulder to his buttocks and has PTSD and anxiety. The rear passenger, her daughter, sustained bruises to her body and has anxiety and PTSD. All three occupants were provided medical attention. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot. A police report was filed. There was no reported fire. The unknown local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired  The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000. The VIN was not available.

The airbag indicator light went on a couple months ago and they fixed it but said that a rolling water bottle under the driver's seat caused the airbags to get unplugged. A few months later, the airbag light went on again and it was disconnected again. The dealership is stating there's no way to prevent the airbags from getting disconnected.

Our airbag light (on the dash) came on and the "passenger air bag off" light came on as well, we took it to the dealership and they determined the airbag system needed to be replaced after owning the vehicle for only 1 year and told us that the vehicle was unsafe to drive and to limit our driving, if we were to be in an accident our airbags would not go off.

WHILE DRIVING IN MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN APPROX. 30-40MPH, AEB (AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BREAKING) KICKED IN MULTIPLE TIMES DURING NORMAL OPERATION AND ACCELERATION AND ABRUPTLY SLOWED THE CAR DESPITE THE ABSENCE OF OBSTRUCTION FORWARD OR BACKWARDS. THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WHERE CARS BEHIND HAD TO AVOID THE ABRUPT STOP. THE BREAK PEDAL WAS NOT USER ENGAGED DURING THESE BREAKING INCIDENTS.

FORWARD EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM, APPLIED HARD BREAKS AT 40MPH, BRING US TO AN ABRUPT REDUCTION IN SPEED TO 15MPH. THIS HAPPENED DRIVING OVER A RAIL ROAD TRACK THAT IS EMBEDDED IN THE TAR, NO TRAFFIC IN FRONT FOR 1/4 MILE, 9AM FULL SUNLIGHT. I ALSO NOTICE THE FORWARD EMERGENCY BRAKING WARNING LIGHT COMES ON ERRATICALLY FLASHING FOR DIFFERENT PERIODS OF TIME, THIS HAS BEEN ON THE HIGHWAY AND CITY ROADS, IT HAPPENS WITH NO VEHICLES OR ANY OBSTRUCTION IN FRONT OR SIDE OF MY VEHICLE, IT HAPPENS ON OVERCAST DAY OR FULL SUN. A SECOND INCIDENT OCCURRED WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT 50MPH ON A 3 LANE HIGHWAY. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE LANE AND A TRACTOR TRAILER WAS PASSING ON MY RIGHT SIDE, WHEN THE CAB WAS JUST PAST MY HEADLIGHTS, MY NISSAN ROGUE HIT THE BREAKS HARD ENOUGH THAT IT LURCHED US UNSUSPECTINGLY FORWARD, THIS HAPPENED WHILE I HAD MY FOOT ON THE ACCELERATION PEDDLE. LASTLY I HAVE NOTICED WHILE USING THE CRUISE CONTROL AND THE VEHICLE IS GOING DOWNHILL, EASING THE ACCELERATOR EVER SO SLIGHTLY THAT THE FORWARD EMERGENCY BREAKING WARNING LIGHT WILL ILLUMINATE, BUT NOT EVERY TIME. I WOULD NOTE I LIVE IN FLORIDA AND WHEN I SAID DOWNHILL, I ONLY MEAN A SLIGHT DECLINE, WE ARE AT SEA LEVEL, FLAT LAND.

ON TODAY FEBRUARY 27TH AT APPROXIMATELY 12:56PM I WAS DRIVING MY 2 WEEK OLD 2020 NISSAN ROGUE SPORT ON 31ST HEADING SOUTH TO STATE STREET IN CHICAGO ILLINOIS SUDDENLY APPLIED TO BRAKE WITH FLASHING WARNING LIGHTS AND SIRENS, WITH NO OBSTRUCTION IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE, HOWEVER THERE WAS A VAN BEHIND ME WHICH MAY HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AS MY FAULT. I THEN PARKED MY VEHICLE AND CONTACTED THE DEALER AND I WAS TOLD THAT IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A INSPECTION BECAUSE ONCE THE IGNITION IS OFF THE DIAGNOSTIC WOULDN'T READ. The contact owns a 2020 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, the rear passenger’s side occupant was unable to release the seat belt buckle. After an extended attempt to assist, the contact observed that the seat belt continued to tighten and would not release, prompting the contact to cut the seat belt strap. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 128,000.

The seat belt connection is located so far down in the seat cushion that it is almost impossible to fasten, and it is especially difficult if you are trying to fasten in a child seat. The design is a safety problem. The seat belts I am referring to are on the back seat.

Our family owns 3 Nissan 2020 Rogue SV's. In all three the rear seat belts go between the seats and cannot be retrieved from above. I reported this to NHTSA previously and did not receive a reply since this is an extreme safety issue. We are not able to safely transport anyone in the backseat.

We have 3 2020 Nissan Rogue SV's in our family. The rear seat belts do not stay up and are too short. We have reported this to the dealer, Gainesville Nissan, and all they say is we know it is a problem, but Nissan does not have a fix. We recently had friends in the car and the rear seatbelt could not be latched because the seat belt catch is too low in the seat to be used. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD RESULT IN AN IMMEDIATE RECALL BY NISSAN!!!!!!!!! This has happened since we purchased the car in December of 2019.

The key fob and vehicle are not "reading" each other. The Rogue doesn't recognize the key. This has left me unable to start the vehicle on numerous occasions and I have been stranded.

The trunk will open and as you are putting stuff in the trunk it will automatically start shutting and does not stop even though you are under it. Very dangerous. You have to quickly get out of the way. I don't know exactly when it started but it's been awhile.

The sunroof is and side of the front window leak and caused the electrical system to fault. It happened in my 2017 rogue and again in my 2020. I have had it fixed twice and it still does it. They say it’s from dirt but as soon as they ran diagnostics and cleaned it out it leaks again. I have photos and documentation of both visits to the dealership and pics of the leaking.

The drivers seat failed (Mechanic's words) From the report, "Seat rivets loose can not tighten. will need to replace seat frame." This puts my safety at risk because in an accident, the seat could come off, causing me to go through the windshield, crush injuries, the seat collapsing and being thrown backwards into back seat passengers in the event of getting rear ended. If the seat that I am seat belted in to detaches from the frame, none of the other safety features will matter. Airbags will be useless as will the seatbelt. When I had my oil changed on January 25, 2025, I asked them to check the drivers seat because it was moving slightly. I noticed the movement the week before. I assumed a bolt may be loose for some reason and needed to be tightened. I was shocked when they told me the seat frame failed and could not be fixed. I needed a new seat frame. I had another mechanic tell me to call Nissan because it had to be a manufacturer defect. It was not caused by wear and tear and is not normal. In researching this online, I found other people that have Nissan Rogues that have also had a problem with the driver's seat being loose and/or moving a bit. I did not report this to my insurance because I don't think I should have to pay for it. My car is less than 5 years old and only has around 42,000 miles on it. I contacted Nissan. After they investigated, they offered to pay 70% of the replacement cost. At first, I agreed but after rethinking it, I don't think I should have to pay over $400 to fix a problem that I didn't cause. There was no warning light. This is what I found online~No, a failing front seat frame in a newer Nissan Rogue is not considered normal and could indicate a serious safety issue, as Nissan has issued recalls for certain Rogue models due to potential problems with seat frame welding, which could affect occupant safety in a crash; if you suspect your Rogue's front seat frame is failing, you should immediately contact your Nissan dealer to chec

Driver's seat is clicking and moving the driver back and forth in place while in operation. Also, The seat clicks upon stop and go acceleration, when weight is shifted and/or car breaks for a stop. Driver’s seat failed at the weld. It was squeaking and sliding back and forth a fraction of an inch at starts and stops. It was quite distracting for the driver and passengers thereby creating unsafe conditions. There were no warning lamps. This seat was confirmed by the dealer service center to have failed.

I PURCHASED A 2020 NISSAN ROGUE SV THAT HAS A POWER ADJUSTABLE DRIVERS SET. THE SLIDE RAIL ASSEMBLY HAS PLAY IN IT WHEN ADJUSTED TO MY DRIVING POSITION. IT ROCKS BACK DURING ACCELERATION AND ROCKS FORWARD DURING BREAKING. I CAN SIT IN THE SEAT STATIONARY AND MOVE IT FORWARD AND BACKWARD WITH MY BODY WEIGHT. THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP TESTED SEVERAL OTHER 2020 MODELS AND FOUND 3 OTHERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. ONE OF THEM ROCKED BACK AND FORTH EVEN WORSE THAN MINE. I CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND WAS TOLD BY THE REPRESENTATIVE THAT THEIR INTERNAL REVIEW WAS " THIS IS A NATURAL OCCURRENCE OF THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS." I OWNED A 2017 ROGUE WITH THE SAME SEAT. THERE WAS NEVER ANY PLAY OR MOVEMENT WITH THE DRIVERS SEAT. MY CONCERNS ARE THAT IF UPON IMPACT EITHER FRONT CRASH OR BEING HIT FROM THE REAR, THIS MOVEMENT IN THE SEAT COULD POSSIBLY RESULT IN THE SEAT BREAKING FREE DUE TO THE IMPROPER GAP BETWEEN THE SLIDE RAIL ASSEMBLY PIECES. IT IS ALSO A SEVERE DISTRACTION TO ME AS THE DRIVER. DISTRACTED DRIVING SHOULD BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY IN THIS MATTER. MY LAST CONCERN IS THIS. AEB light flashes on and off at random driving times. sent in for inspection no code generated but have videos of each one. Safety feature that is no longer a safety feature, but a hazard to self and others while driving. when ur car stops would be my #1 one indicator especially on the freeway and at random times= accident, the possible death of self and others! no, the dealer cant no regenerate the code. no other inspection except the local dealer. No other warnings. light just randomly appeared 2 days after the purchase of the car, a few months later, etc same pattern. was informed weather, then dirt. NOT sure how a person can avoid weather; fog, condensation, moisture. or bugs hitting ur windshield or review mirrors while driving. I would have to bubble wrap my car for that and those things not to possibly effect this sensor.

Breaks slammed on without warning with nothing in front of vehicle. There where no vehicles within a mile ahead. There where 4 people in the vehicle and the seat belts did not lock up and passengers where slammed into the dash. The breaks have locked up twice now.

Hello: We bought the vehicle in 2021. After a few months, we noticed that the vehicle braked itself: meaning it auto-braked while driving at 25mph on the road. We took the vehicle to the dealer for repair. They said, "the vehicle was absolutely fine and perhaps something in the way of the vehicle triggered braking". I, the driver replied, I didn't have any vehicles either in front of or behind me. And besides, I understand the "safety features" and functionalities. Yet, they gave me the vehicle without repair. After a few months, same thing happened: the vehicle auto-braked or braked itself without me the driver putting my foot on the brakes. This time I also called the company's consumer affairs who said they'd help. The consumer affairs worked with the dealer. The dealer now said, "yes the vehicle indeed had auto-braking issues and it could be fixed, and that they'll fix it". So, I, now assured that the vehicle was a 100% fine when it came to auto-braking had been driving the vehicle until today April 16th, 2024, when while driving out on the city in 25mph the vehicle auto-braked again! I emailed the dealer and also called the company's consumer affairs (at their headquarters) to keep them in the loop today, and expect to hear back from them. In this instance, (3rd in 2-3 years), I'm not sure whether the dealer will brush aside the problem as "nothing" as in the first instance, or purport to "fix the issue" without actually fixing it, as in the second instance. At any rate, it came down to a "matter of principle": meaning since I'm not sure if the vehicle's intrinsic defect will be "resolved completely ever", I have to report it to "governing authorities". I hope you will take it from here and do the needful. Thank you in advance for your support.

I was driving approximately 40 mph on a road that was unoccupied by anybody else and the light started flashing and my brakes locked up in the middle of the road for about 3 seconds and then released. I reported it to the Nissan dealership they claimed that there was nothing wrong. I went back to the Nissan dealership after contacting Nissan corporation and they told me that there was a sensor that they had to replace but after they replaced said sensor my rear sonar doesn't work so I believe they just disconnected something and then the dealership took back the paperwork claiming that they were going to do more research on the issue.

I was pulling into a parking space with my foot on the brake going about 2 mph. About 4 feet from a pole the engine raced and the car slammed into the pole. The airbags did not deploy. I was the only person in the car and my foot was still on the bake after the collision I asked Nissan to investigate and they said I would have to wait to get the car fixed for two months and store and tow it at my own expense. It was already being repaired and my insurance company will only pay for a rental for 50 days.

NO ONE, NO ANIMALS, NO FOG, NO RAIN, NO OTHER CARS ARE NEAR ME WHEN THIS LIGHT KEPT COMING ON, THAT I HAVE VIDEO OF. HAD IT LOOKED AT AT TWO DIFFERENT NISSAN DEALERSHIPS ONE FOUND PAST CODES IN OCT AND THE OTHER ON 11/3 SAID EVERYTHING WAS PERFECTLY FINE NOTHING WAS WRONG. ON 11/4 I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 35-40 MILES PER HOUR ON A CITY STREET AND MY CAR JUST BRAKED ON ME OUT OF NO WHERE. AND A RED/ORANGE LIGHT WITH A CAR IN THE MIDDLE WITH A SOUND WAVE TYPE SYMBOL BLINKED ON THE DASHBOARD AND WHEN OFF BEFORE I KNEW IT. The heater and thus defroster no longer work, only cold air comes out. A Nissan service center diagnosed the issue as a stripped out part of the blend door actuator. The whole heater box would need to be replaced to resolve the issue. In winter driving, the lack of defroster impairs visibility and turns off the automatic forward braking system. The fault light for the forward braking system comes on when there is windshield frost/fog. The first signs of this issue appeared as intermittent failures of the heater failing to turn on, but resolved on the next drive. Eventually, the heater/defroster permanently failed. From searching the internet, this blend door actuator issue appears to be prevalent among other Rogues.

The ignition switch (push start button) stopped working. At the time, the key fob batteries were new. The key fobs were still working - the lock/unlock worked, the trunk release worked, and the remote start even worked. The 'trick' of holding the tip of the key fob to the start button did not start the car. This is a safety hazard because my car will not start. Luckily I was at home, but I could have been stranded somewhere. My car is currently at a Nissan dealership. I was hoping that the computer codes just needed to be reset. However, they are telling me the Body Control Module needs to be replaced. I would like the BCM investigated by the NHTSA. Previous years of the Nissan Rogue have had BCM issues. My particular car has not been in any circumstance that would make the BCM go bad - it's only four years old and has not been exposed to flood or extreme heat/cold. The 'key battery low' light came on the dash a couple weeks prior. I had just replaced the key fob battery in both fobs the day before the start button issue. The car is currently at: Cochran Nissan South Hills 3200 W. Liberty Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15216 412-245-4540 I have not yet authorized repairs.

I purchase the vehicle at 58,000 or so miles, used at a dealership. The next day I returned the vehicle because while driving out of town, the vehicle said: Warning, Warning -- This vehicle is not safe to drive. Some components may not operator correctly. Do Not Drive this vehicle. This happens when you're on the highway above 50 miles per hour. There was a smoke smell also inside the car and outside. Dealership said it was the breaks and kept the car 45 minutes to repair the breaks. They said this vehicle was never in an accident and past MD Inspection but the last page said, vehicle failed. They never explained why it failed inspection the first time. The dealership cannot fix it and ignores me mostly. they said its a sensor issue, a settings feature issue and to bring in the vehicle to reset the settings. the dealership said in so many unspoken words, its your problem. Ive had the vehicle about 2 weeks now.

Pero vi una noticia de Telemundo que el modelo que tengo de carro tiene problemas relacionados. Además mi asiento cuando acelero suena como si estuviera fracturado. Pero en la Nissan me dicen que está bien que no tiene nada malo.

Over the past 6 months was when the following electrical issues began. I was traveling around 25 mph when my Foward Collison Warning signaled and led to the Automatic Braking Emergency engaging. There was no other vehicle or object around. I was in the countryside. The weather was clear. If this were to happen under different circumstances on a busy highway it would have caused an accident, most likely fatalities. The other drivers would have had no warning because the vehicle does brake hard even stop abruptly depending on speed. The vehicle locked up and I didn't have control over my vehicle anymore. Also more then once the Forward Collison Light came on when it was raining and/or dense fog. The brakes did not engage and the alarm did not sound but the warning still showed on the dash. It eventually stopped showing on my dash as I drove, but I did pull over and wipe the sensor area. Another problem I'm encountering is the Parking Collison Warning. Sensors are detecting something and being activated when there is no object behind vehicle. I even got out of vehicle to make sure because I didn't see anything in my camera. When I made sure there was nothing obstructing my travel I preceeded and the sensor stopped beeping. I have checked the Nissan website and entered my VIN but unfortunately there were no recalls for these malfunctioning sensors.

DRIVING DOWN INTERSTATE ON NICE CLEAR DAY WITH MINIMAL TRAFFIC, CRUISE CONTROL SET AT 70MPH WHEN SUDDENLY THE CRUISE DISENGAGES, WARNING LIGHT BEGINS TO APPEAR ON DASH SHOWING 2 CARS COLLIDING WITH AUDIBLE ALARM INFORMING ME THAT THE FRONT RADAR IS OBSTRUCTED. CRUISE CONTROL WILL NOT WORK AND ANY ATTEMPT TO USE CRUISE CONTROL IS MET WITH AUDIBLE ALARM AND WARNING THAT FRONT RADAR IS OBSTRUCTED. I STOP, CHECK ALL RADAR/SENSORS FOR DEBRI... EVERYTHING IS FINE, NO BUGS, NOT DEBRI, NO OBSTRUCTION. I RESTART ENGINE, SAME WARNING APPEARS BEFORE I EVEN PUT TRANSMISSION IN DRIVE. START DRIVING, SAME SITUATION, FRONT RADAR OBSTRUCTED, CRUISE NOT AVAILABLE. AFTER 10 MILES OR SO THE FLASING LIGHT GOES OFF, EVERYTHING RETURNS TO NORMAL, CRUISE CONTROL WORKS PROPERLY. CAR MAY EXPERIENCE THIS OROBLEM TWICE IN HUNDRED MILE TRIP ON PERFECTLY CLEAR DAY. OTHER TIMES IT MAY NOT HAPPEN AT ALL ON A 100 MILE TRIP. WHEN THIS DOES HAPPEN IN HEAVY TRAFFIC THE SITUATION BECOMES DANGEROUS QUICKLY BECAUSE THE AUTOMATED BRAKING IS DISABLED AND IF THE RADIO IS ON IT'S EASY TO NOT REALIZE THE SYSTEM IS OFF UNTIL YOUR SPEED IS REDUCED SIGNIFICANTLY. I HAVE HAD 2 CLOSE CALLS BECAUSE OF THIS - ONE WITH A CAR IN FRONT OF ME STOPPING ABRUPTLY AND THE SYSTEM FAILED TO MAINTAIN THE SELECTED GAP BETWEEN MY VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME SO I HAD TO VEER ONTO THE MEDIAN TO AVOID A COLLISION; THE SECOND TIME THE CRUISE ABRUPTLY DISENGAGED TRAFFIC BEHIND ME ALMOST RAN INTO ME WHICH CAUSED VEHICLES BEHIND ME TO HAVE A CLOSE CALL. SO FAR THIS PROBLEM HAS ALWAYS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY OR INTERSTATE, NEVER IN TOWN. SOMETIMES WHEN IT IS RAINING REALLY HARD THE SAME WARNING LIGHT & AUDIBLE ALARM WILL SOUND, HOWEVER CRUISE CONTROL REMAINS OPERATIONAL AS DOES THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING. SO IT APPEARS TO WORK PROPERLY AT TIMES.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2020 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THERE WAS A LOUD BUZZING SOUND WITH A FLASHING LIGHT COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER. THE CONTACT WAS MOMENTARILY UNABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT TURN AND THE BRAKES WOULD NOT OPERATE AS DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE SEEMED TO BE STALLING BEFORE SUDDENLY DRIVING AS NORMAL. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MIDDLETOWN NISSAN LOCATED AT 1153 NEWFIELD ST, MIDDLETOWN, CT 06457 WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,300.

DRIVING DOWN OHIO PIKE AFTER A SHORT STOP, CAR FELT LIKE IT WAS DRIVING IN A LOW GEAR OR NOT SHIFTING AND THE MANUAL OPTION WAS NOT ENGAGED. TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 35-45 MPH FOR ABOUT A MILE OR SO WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE STEERING WHEEL JERKED TO THE LEFT AND CAR DECELERATED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC TURN LANE. THANKFULLY NO ONE WAS IN TURN LANE. I PUT CAR IN PARK, COLLECTED MY THOUGHTS, DAUGHTER REACHED OVER AND PUT HAZARDS ON. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD AND THE WEATHER WAS CLOUDY BUT DRY CONDITIONS. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR TO A PARKING LOT ACROSS THE TWO LANES, TURN THE CAR OFF, RESTAR IT DRIVE IT AROUND THE PARKING LOT AND THEN ATTEMPT TO DRIVE IT TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP 3 MILES AWAY. THE CAR STILL SEEMED TO NOT DRIVE LIKE IT WAS IN THE CORRECT GEAR SO PULLED OFF INTO A RESTAURANT PARKING LOT AND EVENTUALLY WAS TOWED TO CLOSEST NISSAN. IT HAS BEEN ONE WEEK, I STILL DO NOT HAVE MY CAR BACK BECAUSE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT RELEASE IT BACK TO ME FOR SAFETY REASONS. THE DEALERSHIP INDICATED THEY ARE WORKING WITH NISSAN. I WAS GIVEN A LOANER CAR TO GET HOME IN ANOTHER STATE. THIS IS IS A LEASE CAR THAT I AM PAYING FOR AND NOT ABLE TO USE AND NOW I AM SCARED TO DRIVE. AS OF NOW DEALERSHIP TOLD ME A WIRE CAME LOOSE FROM THE COMPUTER.

THREE SEPARATE INCIDENTS HAVE HAPPENED SINCE LEASING THIS CAR ON SUNDAY EVENING ON NOVEMBER 1, 2020. THE FIRST 2 HAPPENED SHORTLY AFTER I LEFT THE SUPERMARKET, I WAS PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT & CHECKED ALL MY MIRRORS AND WINDOWS PRIOR TO PULLING OUT WHEN I FELT IN GUT THAT SOMETHING WASN'T RIGHT, I COVERED MY BRAKES WHILE SLOWLY PULLING OUT AND ASKED MY SON TO CHECK OUT ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND THERE HAD BEEN A CHILD INCHES AWAY FROM MY CAR AND I DID NOT SEE NOR WAS ALERTED BY THE VEHICLE. THE SECOND, INCIDENT HAPPENED WHEN I RETURNED HOME WITH THE GROCERIES AND MY CHILDREN WERE EXITING THE VEHICLE WITH THE GROCERIES, MY SON THEN CAME BACK TO CHECK TO SEE IF I NEEDED SOMETHING ELSE CARRIED UPSTAIRS AND I DID NOT SEE MY SON AS I BEGAN PULLING OFF, MY SON CHILDREN BOTH YELLED IN VOICES OF DISTRESS..MOM! STOP!!! I SAID, WHAT HAPPENED, HE SAID YOU ALMOST RAN ME OVER. AGAIN, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ALERT ME THAT SOMEONE WAS IN AN AREA THAT I COULDN'T SEE. I COULDN'T LIVE WITH MYSELF IF I CAUSED BODILY INJURY TO MY SON THAT COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE GRAVE DANGER, LOSS OF A LIMB OR DEATH. THE THIRD INCIDENT HAPPENED ON WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 2020 AT APPROXIMATELY 2:46PM, I HAD BEEN DRIVING CAUTIOUSLY AS I DO ADHERING TO THE SPEED LIMIT, I NOTICED A BICYCLIST PEDALING ALONG HIS WAY, IT SEEMS AS IF WE WERE HEADING TOWARDS THE SAME DIRECTION SO I PROCEEDED TO DRIVE CAUTIOUSLY AS I WAS APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION TO MAKE A LEFT, I CHECKED ALL THREE MIRRORS AND EVEN LOOKED BACK DIDN'T SEE HIM SO I BEGAN TO MAKE A LEFT AS I WAS TURNING LEFT I COULD SEE HIM IN MY PERIPHERAL VISION APPROACHING THE CROSS WALK.
