The contact stated that the passenger side air bag warning light would remain illuminated and the b1066 front passenger air bag module due to electrical circuit shortage. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact was informed that the vehicle was included in the NHTSA Campaign Number: 22E066000 (Air Bags). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 125,000.

THIS SPECIFIC 2006 NISSAN SENTRA SE-R SPEC-V AS WELL AS THE 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA BOTH USE THE SAME QR25DE ENGINES WITCH THESE ENGINES ARE HIGHLY PRONE TO EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION AT RAPID RATES. MY VEHICLE HAS GOTTEN TO THE POINT WHERE IT COMSUMES A QT OF OIL EVERY 150 MILES OR SO. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS IT CAN LEAD TO ENGINE FIRES BECAUSE OF A FAILURE TO COOL THE ENGINE WHILE IT IS ON. THIS CAN ALSO PRODUCE A SIGNIFICANTLY LARGE PLOOM OF GREY/BLUE SMOKE FROM THE EXHAUST BECAUSE OF LARGE AMOUNTS OF OIL BEING BURNED. THIS LARGE CLOUD OF EXHAUST ALMOST ACTS AS A SMOKE SCREEN TO DRIVERS BEHIND ME SOMETIMES BLOCKING VISION BECAUSE IT CAN BE SO LARGE, AS WELL AS ITS TOXIC IMPACTS ON THE ENVIRONMENT. IN CONCLUSION A FIRE HAZARD COUPLED WITH A LARGE TOXIC CLOUD IS A GROUND TO HAVE ALL NISSAN VEHICLES WITH THE QR25DE ENGINES WITH THE PRODUCTION YEARS OF 2006 AND BELOW TO BE RECALLED AS IT CAN BE POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS. ENGINE LIGHT IS ON THEN REALIZED THAT I WAS HAVING PROBLEM GETTING FUEL INTO GAS TANK. ONCE OPENING THE GAS CAP A GUSH OF GAS FUMES COMES OUT. CAN NOT GET GAS IN TANK WITH OUT GAS PUMP CUTTING OFF ALL THE TIME. IT TAKES FOR EVER TO GET GAS INTO TANK. The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated while driving approximately 50 MPH and exiting the highway, the vehicle decelerated and then lost motive power. The vehicle lost power steering and braking functionality; additionally, the instrument panel went blank. The contact pulled safely off the road and the vehicle would not restart. The contact was able to restart the vehicle after several attempts and drove back to his residence. The contact who is an independent mechanic, diagnosed the vehicle with a crankshaft position sensor code (P0335). The vehicle was not repaired. The contact researched the failure online and discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 07V527000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) which he linked to the failure. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000.

MY HEART GOES OUT TO THE VICTIMS OF TOYOTA'S RECKLESS NEGLIGENCE. MY AIRBAGS POPPED OUT AND I WAS ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR WITH ONLY A CUT ON MY FOREHEAD. MY NEIGHBOR WITNESS THE WHOLE THING. WHEN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT CAME THEY LOOKED AT THE CAR AND SAID IT WAS A MIRACLE THAT I WAS ALIVE AND NOT BADLY HURT. I DID RESEARCH AND FOUND THE OTHERS WITH THE SAME CAR HAD EXPERIENCE THIS. THE LINING IN THE TRUNK IS DECOMPOSING CREATING AN ODOR THAT IS SMELLED IN THE DRIVER/PASSENGER COMPARTMENT OF THE CAR. I AS THE ONLY DRIVER HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH XYLENE EXPOSURE. THIS IS THE MOST LIKELY AND PROBABLY ONLY SOURCE OF XYLENE IN MY LIFE.

Bought a 2006 Nissan Sentra from an individual as a first car for my grandson. Drivers Seatbelt does not retract. Took to body shop and they said it was a safety issue and we would need to take it to the dealer. The Nissan Dealer in Chattanooga said that they could not repair it as the part was discontinued. Did not give us an alternative other than to to google it and fix it ourselves (but it's a safety problem that even a body shop won't touch). So now my Grandson has his first car but it's worthless?

I HAVE ONLY HAD MY VEHICLE FOR 11 MONTHS. LAST WEEK A RED FLASHING LIGHT APPEARS. I LOOKED IT UP IN MY HANDBOOK AND IT SHOWED THAT A SAFETY RESTRAINT ISN'T WORKING. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THE COST FOR REPAIR IS $1600.00. SINCE I'VE OWNED MY VEHICLE IT HAS NOT BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENT, AND WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE THE CARFAX REPORT WAS CLEAN AS WELL. MY REPAIR GUY SAYS THAT THE ONLY WAY THE LIGHT SHOULD'VE COME ON WAS DUE TO FRONT END COLLISION, WHICH, I HAVE NEVER HAD. I AM BEING TOLD THAT IN CASE OF ACCIDENT NONE OF MY SAFETY FEATURES WILL NOT WORK. NO SEAT BELT TIGHTENING, NO AIRBAGDEPLOY ETC. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR THE RECALL REPAIR, BUT NOW HE IS EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR WAS PERFORMED. WHILE APPROACHING A RED LIGHT AT 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY THREE TIMES BEFORE HE REACHED HIS RESIDENCE. THE DEALER STATED THAT HE HAD TO PAY TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED AGAIN. THE CONTACT BELIEVES THAT THE FIRST REPAIR WAS PERFORMED INCORRECTLY. THE VEHICLE IS UNABLE TO BE DRIVEN. MY SON PURCHASED A 2006 NISSAN SENTRA ON 10/13/06. THE CAR ONLY HAD 20 MILES ON IT. IT RAN GOOD FOR A WEEK THEN HE STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH IT NOT STARTING. HE HAD TO GET IT JUMPED OFF. THAT WAS FRIDAY 10/20/06; HE DIDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS ON SAT. SUNDAY WAS A DIFFERENT STORY, HE AND HIS FIANCE HAD A GET IT JUMPED OFF THREE TIMES. SHE WENT BY THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT IT.THEY TOLD HER IT WAS PROBABLY THE BATTERY TO BRING IT BACK ON MONDAY 10/23/06; SHE SAID IT WOULD HAVE TO BE BETWEEN HIS TWO JOBS. HE WOULD COME BY AROUND 4:15 PM, THEY SAID THAT WAS FINE. HE TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP ON TUES. 10/24/06, THEY RAN A COMPUTER SCAN ON THE CAR AND SAID IT WAS FINE THAT NO CODES SHOWED UP. HE TOLD THEM THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR AND THAT HE WANTED TO GET WHATEVER IS WRONG FIXED. THEY TOLD HIM TO BRING IT AND LEAVE IT, HE EXPLAINED TO THEM THAT HE COULDN'T LEAVE THE CAR DUE TO THE FACT HE WORKS FROM 7AM-4PM AND 4:30PM-11PM. HE ASKED ABOUT GETTING A RENTAL OR A LOANER, THEY SAID HE COULDN'T GET ONE BECAUSE HIS AGE AND BECAUSE NO CODES HAD SHOWED UP. HE WENT TO PICK UP HIS FIANCE, WHILE THEY WERE IN THE CAR WAITING FOR HER THEY STARTED TO SMELL SOMETHING BURNING AND THEN THEY SAW SMOKE. THEY GOT OUT AND OPENED THE HOOD, THE ALTERNATOR WIRES WERE ON FIRE. HE PUT IT OUT. THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT MORNING PICKED IT UP AFTER I WENT THERE TO TELL THEM ABOUT IT. I HAD ALREADY REPORTED THIS TO NISSAN MOTOR NORTH AMERICA. WE WERE TOLD THAT WHEN THE CAR WAS SEND BACK FOR THE RECALL ON THE MOTOR THAT THEY FORGOT TO TIGHTEN THE NUT UP ON THE ALTERNATOR AND THAT WAS WHAT STARTED THE FIRE WAS AN ARC. ANYTIME CAR ENGINE IS SHUT OFF AND THE CAR SITS FOR AS LITTLE AS 10 MINUTES THE CAR WILL NOT START RIGHT BACK UP WITH OUT CRANKING OVER FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. TRAVELING WESTBOUND ON I-10 BETWEEN COTTONDALE, FL AND FT. WALTON, FL IN TRAFFIC, THE LEFT REAR TIRE BLEW OUT WITHOUT WARNING CAUSING LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL. HIGHWAY TYPE-INTERSTATE- 4 LANE DIVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE LEFT LANE. IT WENT INTO THE MEDIAN, CAME BACK INTO THE MAIN TRAVEL LANES BETWEEN TRAFFIC, ROTATED 360 DEGREES, THEN WENT OFF OF THE MAIN TRAVEL LANES ONTO THE RIGHT SHOULDER WHERE IT CAME TO A STOP. EVEN THOUGH THIS OCCURRED IN TRAFFIC, THERE WAS NO IMPACT AND NO INJURY TO THE OCCUPANTS. ONE SIDEWALL OF THE TIRE IS COMPLETELY SEPARATED FROM THE TIRE, AND THE OTHER SIDEWALL PARTIALLY SEPARATED. THE AIR PRESSURE ON THE TIRE WAS CHECKED JUST PRIOR TO BEGINNING THE TRIP. THE CONDITION OF THE TIRE WAS CHECKED PRIOR TO THE TRIP AND THE TIRE APPEARED TO BE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. THE TREAD AND GENERAL CONDITION OF THE FAILED TIRE SHOW NO EVIDENCE OF PRIOR DAMAGE OR PUNCTURE. THE 2 REAR TIRES HAD BEEN REPLACED IN 2010 OR 2011. The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that on numerous occasions while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated then stalled. The contact stated that he was able to restart the vehicle. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed and the mechanic retrieved DTC: P0335 (Crankshaft) and P0725 (TCM, ECM). The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that there would be a diagnostic test fee assessed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 193,377.

Additionally, the transmission fluid was flushed and refilled. The contact stated that after the vehicle was returned, the transmission fluid was checked and looked the same as before the transmission flush. Additionally, the airbag was not repaired properly. I HAVE A 2006 NISSAN SENTRA S 1.8 L. I HAD THE CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR REPLACED A MONTH AGO DUE TO AN ISSUE WITH THE ENGINE LOSING POWER. IT HAPPENS MOSTLY AFTER THE ENGINE HAS REACHED A CERTAIN LEVEL OF HEAT. MY ISSUE RETURNED ONLY A FEW DAYS LATER AFTER THE REPLACEMENT. IT WILL COME CLOSE TO SHUTTING OFF SITTING AT A STOP SIGN OR STOP LIGHT. IT WILL ALSO LOSE ACCELERATION OVER 3000 RPM. IT WILL STOP RUNNING IF LEFT IN IDLE FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME. I NOTICED A SIMILAR RECALL ON THE 2.5L VERSION OF THE SAME VEHICLE. I CONTACTED NISSAN TO SEE IF IT WOULD BE COVERED UNDER THIS RECALL AND THEY REFUSED TO COVER IT. I HAVE TALKED TO OTHER OWNERS OF THE SAME MODEL AND THEY HAVE TOLD ME THEY HAVE REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP AND CPS MANY TIMES TO NO AVAIL. I BELIEVE THERE IS A DEFINITE SAFETY ISSUE IN THIS CAR THAT COULD EASILY LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY IT ISN'T COVERED UNDER THE RECALL THAT AFFECTS THE SIMILAR 2.5L VERSION OF THE MODEL. MY VEHICLE IS AT 139,890 MILES. IT HAS HAD THE SENSOR REPLACED AT AROUND 75,000 MILES AND AROUND 100,000 MILES.

I HAVE A CRANK SHAFT POSITION SENSOR PROBLEM IN MY 2006 NISSAN SENTRA 1.8S WHICH KILLS THE ENGINE. WHILE DRIVING THE ENGINE MAY SHUT OFF VERY ABRUPTLY WITHOUT WARNING. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID MY VIN DIDN'T QUALIFY FOR THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH IT'S WITHIN THE MANUFACTURE DATE RANGE FOR THE RECALL. I EVEN EMAILED THE NISSAN CORPORATE OFFICE. IT'S A KNOWN ISSUE AND PART OF A RECALL BUT NISSAN REFUSES TO FIX THE PROBLEM. ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE I GET IN AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THIS KNOWN ISSUE. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE A MANUFACTURING DEFECT FIXED. I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON THE FREEWAY GOING ABOUT 60MPH WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY 2006 NISSAN SENTRA ( SE 1.8) GAVE A SMALL JERK AND THE RPMS REDUCED DRASTICALLY. I ALSO BEGAN TO LOSE MY STEERING AND NO MATTER HOW HARD I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL THE CAR WOULDN'T ACCELERATE. I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT TO THE SHOULDER, I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND AFTER A FEW MINUTES IT WAS FINE. THEN LATER THAT NIGHT AS I WAS SITTING WITH THE ENGINE AT AN IDLE, THE CAR SUDDENLY DIED BUT IT DID STARTED BACK UP. I DECIDED TO TAKE IT TO MY MECHANIC AND IT DIED 2 OR 3 TIMES WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT. THE MECHANIC COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER CAME ON AND THE CAR DIDN'T THROW A CODE. I BROUGHT THE CAR HOME AND PARKED IT BECAUSE I DO NOT FEELING SAFE DRIVING IT. TONIGHT I SAT IN THE CAR AND TURNED IT ON TO SEE IF IT WOULD START. IT DID START BUT EVERY SECOND OR SO THERE WAS AN LOUD CLICK FROM THE ENGINE AFTER WHICH THE CAR WOULD GIVE A SIZEABLE SHUDDER. ALSO THE RPMS REV'D WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL OR PARK. THEY WOULD DIP WHEN THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE OR REVERSE. I SEE ON THE WEB THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE CAMSHAFT AND CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR. I HAVEN'T CALLED NISSAN YET BUT AFTER READING OTHER COMPLAINTS ON THIS WEBSITE I HAVE NO HOPE THEY WILL HONOR THE RECALL AS MY VIN ISN'T INCLUDED. I HOPE SOMEONE AT THE NHTSA FORCES AN EXPANDED RECALL. IT ISN'T RIGHT THAT THOSE OF US HAVING PROBLEMS HAVE TO PAY FOR A KNOWN PROBLEM. IT APPEARED THAT THE VEHICLES GEAR SHIFT WAS ONLY DESIGNED TO CHANGE GEARS WHEN THE BUTTON ON THE SIDE OF THE GEAR SHIFT WAS ENGAGED. THAT IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND THE POTENTIAL FOR A CRASH IF THE GEAR SHIFT CAN EASILY BE WITHOUT ENGAGING THE BUTTON THAT WAS INTENDED FOR THAT FUNCTION. THE 5-CD DISC PLAYER HAS ALSO STOPPED FUNCTIONING TO THE POINT WHERE I AM UNABLE TO REMOVE THE CDS THAT ARE LODGED INSIDE THE PLAYER. I CAN ONLY ASSUME THAT THEY HAVE MELTED INSIDE AND THAT IS THE POTENTIAL FOR A FIRE. I HAVE NOT NOTIFIED THE DEALER OR MANUFACTURER OF THESE FAILURES AT THIS TIME.

THE FOLLOWING COMPLAINT IS CONCERNING NHTSA CAMPAIGN # 07V527000 AND #06V223000 BOTH OF THESE RECALLS DEAL WITH THE AUTOMOBILE I OWN, A 2006 NISSAN SENTRA, WHICH I PURCHASED BRAND NEW IN MAY 2006. I HAVE BEEN HAVING MAJOR ISSUES OUT OF THE CRANKSHAFT AND CAMSHAFT SENSORS IN THE VEHICLE AND OIL INTAKE OVER THE LAST 18 MONTHS. THE CAR WOULD DIE WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND BECAME VERY HARD TO START AS WELL AS THE OIL INTAKE BECAME EXCESSIVE. AFTER 3 VISITS TO THE DEALERSHIPS AS WELL AS 3 VISITS TO LOCAL AUTO REPAIR SHOPS WITH ONLY TEMPORARY FIXES, I WAS AT LAST INFORMED AROUND MID DECEMBER 2012 BY ONE OF THE MECHANICS AT THE LOCAL SHOP THAT THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL ON SIMILAR VEHICLES. I LOOKED THE INFORMATION UP AND WAS SHOCKED TO SEE THERE WAS A RECALL IN 2006 AND 2007 ON 2006 NISSAN SENTRAS. AFTER SPEAKING WITH NORTH AMERICAN NISSAN I LEARNED THAT THE RECALL WAS VIN SPECIFIC AND MY CAR, WHILE BEING THE SAME MAKE, MODEL, AND YEAR AS THE VEHICLES RECALLED, WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I SPOKE WITH A REGIONAL MANAGER OFF AND ON FOR THE NEXT FEW WEEKS WHO INFORMED ME IN THE END THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO BECAUSE THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY.
