"TAKATA RECALL", CAR HAS DAYS WHERE IT WON'T START DUE TO PROBLEMS WITH THE ECM MODULE. I BOUGHT THE CAR LIKE THAT AND WHEN IT HAPPENED I THOUGHT IT WAS THE BATTERY AND WE SWITCHED OUT THE BATTERY, HOWEVER A MONTH LATER IT DID THE SAME THING. I NOTICED THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON THE BATTERY TERMINAL THAT MAY EFFECT THE ECM ON SOME MODERN VEHICLES, HOWEVER WHEN I TOOK IT TO NISSAN THEY SAID BASED ON MY VIN NUMBER MY VEHICLE ISN'T AFFECTED. MY CAR IS DOING EXACTLY WHAT THE RECALL STATES, SO I BELIEVE THAT MY VIN NUMBER NEEDS TO BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL LIST.

FAN IS RUNNING INSIDE CAR BLOWING OUT HOT AIR DESPITE THE DIAL BEING TURNED TO OFF. NOW WHILE THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN, THERE'S A STRONG BURNING SMELL EMITTING FROM THE INSIDE OF CAR. WHEN THE FAN TURNED ON FOR ABSOLUTELY NO REASON, I WAS DRIVING IT ON THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR WAS IN MOTION AGAIN TODAY WHEN THE BURNING SMELL STARTED AS WELL. NOW WHEN I GO TO TURN CAR ON, IT IS HAVING ISSUES STARTING.

THE DEALER (94 NISSAN OF SOUTH HOLLAND, (708) 333-2000, LOCATED AT 16269 VAN DAM RD, SOUTH HOLLAND, IL 60473) DIAGNOSED THAT THE STARTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 84,000.

THE DASHBOARD LIGHT FLICKERED FOR AWHILE AND NOW DOES NOT LIGHT UP AT ALL. I AM UNABLE TO SEE THE GAS GAUGE, MILEAGE OR TEMPERATURE. THE DOORS NO LONGER UNLOCK WHEN I TURN OFF THE IGNITION NOR DOES THE BEEPER SOUND THAT MY HEADLIGHTS ARE STILL ON WHEN THE IGNITION IS TURNED OFF. I HAVE BEEN TO THE NISSAN DEALER TWICE WITH THIS AND THEY WERE NOT BE ABLE TO LOCATE THE PROBLEM. THEY DID FIND A PAPER THAT DESCRIBED THIS SITUATION AS A PROBLEM ON THE 2011 NISSAN SENTRA.

I purchased a Nissan vehicle that was represented as reliable and safe. Considering I’m a single mother also still young enough to wanna live not be on the highway and have my car declined speed and a tractor trailer almost hit me like that’s already happened. This is a known problem. Yeah I can’t get any help However, the vehicle has ongoing transmission problems that significantly impact its drivability and safety. Upon reviewing the paperwork, I discovered the vehicle was previously with a salvage company, a fact that was not disclosed to me at the time of purchase. This lack of transparency is unacceptable and has caused me considerable distress and unexpected repair costs. I am requesting Nissan’s urgent attention to this matter, including a thorough investigation into the vehicle’s history and any potential recalls or service bulletins related to these transmission issues. As a consumer, I expect better disclosure and support from Nissan, especially regarding vehicles with known defects or salvage histories. I urge you to take responsibility and help resolve this matter promptly to ensure customer safety and trust. Thank you for your immediate attention to this serious concern.

To Whom It May Concern, I’m writing to express my deep frustration and disappointment with Nissan over the CVT failure in my 2011 Nissan Sentra. There are no active recalls listed for my vehicle, yet I’m experiencing the same transmission failure thousands of others have reported—jerking, hesitation, loss of power, and check engine codes P1778 and P0776. I purchased this car 3–4 months ago as a single mother trying to rebuild my life. I chose this vehicle specifically because I thought it would be a dependable, affordable option to get back on my feet. Instead, I’m now stuck with a car that’s barely driveable, a dangerous transmission, and no support. It feels like punishment for trying to do things the right way. I understand warranties expire, but Nissan is a million-dollar company, and the CVT transmission issues are a known and ongoing defect. You should not continue to profit while customers are left stranded and burdened with thousands in repairs due to faulty engineering. It’s not just inconvenient—it’s harmful. This kind of failure makes life significantly harder for people who are already struggling. I’ve contacted Consumer Affairs. I was disconnected mid-call and haven’t received help opening a case. I now need reliable transportation to care for my child and maintain the progress I’ve worked so hard for. I’m requesting that Nissan review this case and offer some form of goodwill assistance or reimbursement. I should not have to choose between feeding my family and fixing a transmission that should have never failed this early. Please take responsibility. Do better for the people who trusted your brand.

I was driving at low speed 20 mph , stopped at the stop sign , when I pressed acceleration the vehicle did not respond . I checked Dash and I could see all engine warnings light up. I switched off the vehicle and started again it started back with no issues and started running again. The vehicle sounds normal .there was no engine related warnings afterwards.

The contact owns a 2011 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled with the traction control and check engine warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the catalytic converter was replaced; however, the failure persisted. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.

The Airbag Light, came on a few months ago. UNKNOWN why or exact date. Air Bag inspection, has outrageous cost, to just diagnose why it's on. I have never had a issue with air bags with this car or another car. This is uncommon. Especially with, No Car Incidents.

I am having issues with registering car due to failed emissions for the Mass Air Flow Sensor as well as the CVT light that comes on while driving. The CVT light pops on out of no where which makes the car shake and not want to move too well. To be driving on freeway and have this happen would be very dangerous if not fatal.

I was driving my car to work between 9 and 10pm on/around February 5, 2023. I lost control of my car and it couldn’t brake. I couldn’t have been hit if it was rush hour or ran into a car or someone. I turned to a around on the right to get out of traffic. The road had a little hill, I started to slide down the hill. I took my car to Nissan in Monroeville PA. When I picked my car back they had wrong VIN number and Year for my car. They said they scan the VIN not type it so the at wasn’t a typo. I am concerned that they said they changed codes and no main issues and mentioned some issues but the documentation was all wrong about a car with a VIN and Year that isn’t mine and under my family information. I am concerned about if my car is okay, and why Nissan gave me wrong VIN with two wrong errors in the numbers and letters and wrong year and they also might or might not have fixed problem. They said my car was 2008 but it’s 2011. I am concerned about if my car was fixed for the problem i took it on for and also if it was manipulated with old parts because it is not 2008. I went to the police in Monroeville PA they helped me find correct VIN. I bought my car at Subaru and they said my car VIN is as they said and is 2011. Did Nissan fix my car? I don't trust they did if documentation of VIN and Year are wrong, I’m now concerned about fraud possibilities. I took my car to Nissan Feb 15. It started to work fine on Feb 5 when I restarted it but I needed them to check why it didn’t work that night; until I restarted it. They said it might be coding which they fixed.

I WENT ON A ROAD TRIP THAT WAS 240 MILES EACH WAY. WE WERE ABOUT HALF WAY WHEN YOU BEGAN TO HAVE PROBLEMS. I REALIZED THE CAR WAS HAVING PROBLEMS AT THAT HALF WAY POINT BECAUSE IT WAS JERKING ,CLANKING, STALKING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. MY CAR COULD ONLY GO 60MPH ON THE WAY HOME ON I-15. PEOPLE WERE FLASHING THEIR LIGHTS AND RIDING MY ASS. I EVENTUALLY HAD TO GET OFF THE NEAREST EXIT, IN PAYSON UTAH, JUST MAKE SURE I WOULD BE OKAY. NORMALLY MY CAR GETS ABOUT 36MPG ON THE FREEWAY BUT IT WAS GETTING ABOUT 20MPG ON THE WAY HOME. INITIALLY I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL SERVICE MECHANIC SHOP AND THEY CHANGED THE FLUID CHARGED ME $286.00 AND THEY RECOMMENDED A TRANSMISSION SHOP TO LOOK AT THE VEHICLE. THE TRANSMISSION SHOP MECHANIC DIAGNOSED BAD INTERNAL PARTS IN THE TRANSMISSION. WITH ESTIMATED REPAIRS OF $3500.00. THE CAR CURRENTLY HAS BEEN 120,140 MILES. IT BROKE DOWN 04/18/2021

I CALLED A MCCLARTY NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN NORTH LITTLE ROCK AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE RECALL LISTED ON THIS WEBSITE DID NOT AFFECT MY CAR EVEN THOUGH YOUR WEBSITE DOES WHEN I LOOK IT UP BY THE VIN LIKE THEY DID.

HAD VEHICLE EXAMINED BY DEALER ADVISED I NEEDED A "TRANSMISSION COOLER" BECAUSE TRANSMISSION WAS OVERHEATING AND NOT GETTING ENOUGH AIR. ADVISED VEHICLE COMPUTER REGISTERED OVER 82 INSTANCES OF TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING. WHEN THE ISSUE OCCURS VEHICLE ENTERS "LIMP" MODE. VEHICLE WILL NOT PRODUCE MORE THAN 2500 RPMS. RECENTLY OCCURRED ON INTERSTATE 40 IN TN. CLIMBING LARGE HILL CAR WOULD NOT MAINTAIN SPEED. DEALER ADVISED THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH VEHICLE OTHER THAN THE DESIGN OF TRANSMISSION AND ADVISED BY NISSAN TO FIX PROBLEM INSTALL A TRANSMISSION COOLER WHICH COSTS $1,400.

THERE IS TRANSMISSION ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE WHEN DRIVEN IN EXCESS OF 2 HOURS. IT APPEARS TO OVERHEAT AND WILL NOT DRIVE IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH UNTIL IT COOLS DOWN. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND I DID OPEN A CASE WITH NISSAN WHO REFUSES TO COVER THE REPAIR. NISSAN CASE # 31337703. NISSAN DOUBLED THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY ON MODELS 2003 - 2010 AS A RESULT OF THIS ISSUE BUT IS REFUSING THE STAND BEHIND THIS ONE WHICH WAS PRESUMABLY MADE IN 2010. PROBLEM FIRST NOTICED A YEAR AGO AND 2 MECHANICS COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE AS IT HAS TO BE DRIVEN A LONG TIME TO HEAT UP. IT IS ONLY ON LONG TRIPS THAT THIS HAPPENS. NISSAN REQUESTED WE TAKE IT TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND AFTER 6 HOURS (AND $150 CHARGE) THEY SAID IT HAD THE INCORRECT TRANSMISSION FLUID. I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE VEHICLE AND NEVER CHANGED OR AUTHORIZED ANYONE TO CHANGE IT SO THAT IS A FALSE STATEMENT. I WAS CHASTISED FOR NOT VISITING A DEALER IN 5 YEARS... MY RESPONSE WAS IF IT IS NOT BROKE WHY FIX IT? THIS VEHICLE IS NOW USED FOR PRIMARILY LONG ROAD TRIPS TO SCHOOL AND IT IS FRUSTRATING THAT NISSAN KNOWS THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF REPORTED ISSUES WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION BUT WILL NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ONE. I HAVE REACHED OUT TO NISSAN AND ESCALATED MY APPEAL AS HIGH AS THE EXECUTIVE SPECIALIST WHO WOULD NOT CONSIDER STANDING BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. SENT A FEW E-MAILS TO MANAGEMENT (CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE) WHICH HAVE GONE IGNORED. WILL BE DISPUTING THE CREDIT CARD CHARGE FOR 'DIAGNOSIS' AS THAT WAS A 6 HOUR WAIT FOR THEM TO DO NOTHING MORE THEN LOOK AT THE FLUID AND ACCUSE US OF CHANGING IT TO AN UNSUPPORTED FLUID. GIVEN THE KNOWN DESIGN AND RELIABILITY ISSUES WITH THIS PART I SIMPLY REQUEST NISSAN TO COVER THE COST OF REPLACEMENT TO WHICH THEY REFUSE, CAUSING A SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE WHEN THIS CAR IS DRIVEN. IN CITY DRIVING IT WORKS WITHOUT ANY ISSUES.

I WAS DRIVING MY NISSAN SENTRA 2011 WITH AN APPROX SPEED OF 35 MPH AND THEN SUDDENLY HEARD SOME NOISE FROM THE BONNET. I PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF THE CAR BUT STILL ABLE TO HEAR SOUND COMING FROM THE ABS MODULE. I TOOK IT TO MECHANIC AND HE SUGGESTED TO CHECK FOR THE RECALL AS LIGHT FOR VDC,ABS & BRAKE TURNED ON. I CHECKED WITH NISSAN CUSTOMER CARE AND THEY SAID THEY DONT HAVE ANY INFORMATION WITH MY VIN# FOR ANY RECALL. I AM SURPRISED TO SEE THIS AS THE CAR DIDNT MEET ANY ACCIDENT WHEN ALL THIS HAPPEN. NISSAN AUTHORISED CENTER DID DIAGNOSTIC AFTER CHARGING $244 JUST TO COME OUT THAT ABS ACTUATOR(47660-9AA1A) NEED TO BE REPLACED WHICH WILL FURTHER COST ME ABOUT $1900. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO COVER UP THIS COST AS THIS SEEMS TO BE COMPLETELY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND NEED TO BE TAKEN CARE UNDER A CAMPAIGN.

DRIVING ALONG ON SNOWY ROADS (HAVE NOTICED LESS SIGNIFICANT ISSUES OTHER TIMES SUCH AS GOING INTO 1ST GEAR ON ITS OWN TWICE AND SOME SMALL PULSES HERE AND THERE ) WHEN THE CAR WILL HAVE A PULSE OR CATCH LIKE YOU HAVE QUICKLY STEPPED ON THE BRAKES BUT NO BRAKE LIGHTS GO ON. THE RPMS INCREASE FROM 1500 TO 3000 AND THEN THE CAR STOPS BRIEFLY. LOWER SPEED AND STILL HAPPENS. LEAVING FROM A STOP IS WHEN IT GETS REALLY SCARY. ANY AMOUNT OF GAS PEDAL WILL CAUSE THE CAR TO COME TO ALMOST A COMPLETE STOP WITH NO BRAKE LIGHTS. ALMOST REAR ENDED A COUPLE TIMES. IT KEEPS STOPPING YOU WHEN YOU TRY TO EVER SO GENTLY GIVE IT SOME GAS AND EVENTUALLY YOU CAN GET IT GOING. THIS BEHAVIOR WILL CONTINUE UNTIL IT WANTS TO STOP IT. PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN JUNE 2016, SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON IN OCTOBER (APPROXIMATELY 60,000-70,000 MILES) WHEN TEMP DROPPED BELOW 55 DEGREES. TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC, CODE READ P0101. FIND NISSAN HAS POSTED A BULLETIN ON THIS.FOLLOWED ALL GUIDELINES. HE CLEANED THE MAF SENSOR. LIGHT WENT OFF. NEXT, DAY LIGHT COMES BACK ON. GO BACK, HAVE SENSOR REPLACED. LIGHT COMES BACK ON. CHECKS FOR VACUUM LEAKS, CHANGE AIR FILTER BLOW OUT AIR BOX AND SURROUNDING COMPONENTS. LIGHT STILL ON. TAKE CAR FOR A DIAGNOSIS EVERY FEW MONTHS TO ENSURE ITS STILL THE SAME THING AND NOTHING ELSE. NO PROBLEM WITH CARS DRIVABILITY. FAST FORWARD TO 2019, VDC/ ABS LIGHTS COME ON. CALL NISSAN, TELL ME THEY CANT HELP BECAUSE MY CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. NISAN HAS POSTED BULLETIN FOR THIS ISSUE FOLLOW ALL GUIDELINES FOR REPAIRS VIA THEIR BULLETIN, ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE $700 WHEEL SPEED SENSOR. LIGHTS GO OFF. BUT THAT STARTED A NEW ISSUE. MY VDC/ABS LIGHTS WILL SPONTANEOUSLY COME ON CAUSING MY CAR TO JERK VIOLENTLY AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 20-30MPH (OR 2,500 RPM) CAUSING ME TO STOP DEAD IN TRAFFIC, PARK THE CAR, TAKE THE KEY OUT (IT MUST BE OUT!), WAIT A FEW SECONDS, TURN IT BACK ON. FAST FORWARD TO THIS WEEK (3/2/20) MY CAR STALLS OUT GOING 70 MPH DOWN THE HIGHWAY BETWEEN TO SEMIS. EVERYTHING JUST SHUTS DOWN. I LITERALLY ALMOST DIED. CALL NISSAN AND THEY TELL ME, MY CAR ISN'T PART OF THE RECALL, OUTSIDE OF THE WARRANTY, NOTHING WE CAN DO. GO TO NISSAN DEALER. THEY WANT TO CHARGE $150 TO DIAGNOSE. SO I WENT ELSEWHERE, GOT IT DIAGNOSED FOR FREE HAD MAF CLEANED, NEW AIR FILTER, CODES RESET. LIGHT GOES OFF. DRIVING HOME, CAR STALLS AGAIN AT 70 MPH. NO LIGHTS ON DASH. HAVE CODES READ IMMEDIATELY, NO CODES. NOTHING. WAKE UP, DRIVE TO SCHOOL, SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, IMMEDIATELY STALLS ON HIGHWAY. IMMEDIATELY HAVE DOES READ: THREE P0101 CODES IN ROW. I LITERALLY FEAR FOR MY LIFE AND HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE.

ON SUNDAY, SEPT 22 2019 AT AROUND 1:40PM WE WERE HEADED HOME FROM AN VACATION AT A CABIN RENTAL PROPERTY IN SEVIERVILLE, TN. NOT EVEN QUARTER MILE FROM OUR CABIN ON A STRAIGHT AND DOWN HILL ROAD ALL OF A SUDDEN THE BRAKES STOPPED FUNCTIONING. I APPLIED BRAKES MULTIPLE TIMES BUT THE CAR DIDN'T STOP AND IN ORDER TO AVOID A SMALL POND ON THE RIGHT HAND SIDE AND THE CAR IN FRONT I HAD TO DIVERT MY CAR ON THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. AS I HIT SHOULDER OF THE ROAD THE FRONT PASSENGER WHEEL BUSTED AND THE CAR EVENTUALLY STOPPED FURTHER AT THE UP HILL. I DON'T KNOW IF THE BRAKES FAILED AND/OR THE ABS AND/OR THE ONBOARD COMPUTER MALFUNCTIONED. I DID SEE ABS AND VDC LIGHTS SIGN COMING ON THE DASHBOARD FOR AT LEAST 2 HOURS BEFORE DISAPPEARING ON ITS OWN. ALSO SINCE THEN THE TIRE PRESSURE SIGN HAS NEVER GONE OFF. THE TIRE PRESSURE SIGNS BLINKS FOR A LITTLE WHILE EVERY TIME START THE CAR AND THEN GETS STEADY. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN SAFETY CONCERN TO ME AS I STILL CAN'T UNDERSTAND HOW WOULD THE CAR DO NOTHING EVEN AFTER APPLYING THE BRAKES SO MANY TIMES. WITH AN 2011 MODEL AND ONLY 56000 MILES ON IT I WOULD NEVER EXPECT SOMETHING LIKE THIS TO HAPPEN. ON JUNE 18 2019 I WAS DRIVING 55 MPH ON THE BELT LINE IN MADISON, WI. WITH MY NEWBORN DAUGHTER. WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR STARTED LURCHING, I HAD NO CONTROL. IN HEAVY TRAFFIC I WAS AFRAID OF CAUSING IN ACCIDENT. THE BRAKES WERE HARD AND IF I PUSHED ON THE GAS IT STARTED LURCHING OUT OF CONTROL. I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO PULLOVER AND NOTICED THE VOC LIGHT WAS ON. I PUSHED THE VOC BUTTON TO TURN IT OFF. BUT IT WOULDN'T TURN OFF. I CALLED MY FATHER LARRY. HE TOLD ME TO TURN OFF THE CAR WAIT A MINUTE. TURN IT BACK ON. TO SEE IF THE VOC WOULD RESET. IT DID RESET. THE PROBLEM CONTINUES I TAKEN MY CAR INTO DIFFERENT LOCATIONS FOR INSPECTION. I SEE A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM ON THIS WEBSITE. HOWEVER MY CAR DOES NOT FALL INTO THE RECALL. WHY? IT AFFECTS STEERING (LACK OF) BRAKES (NON EXISTENT) GAS (CAUSES LURCHING). IT IS RIDICULOUS THAT SO MANY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME CAR HAVE HAD THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM AND NO INVESTIGATION OR ACTION HAS BEEN DONE BY THE NHTSA YET. AS OTHERS HAVE COMPLAINED BEFORE, I HAVE HAD MOMENTS WHERE MY CAR WOULD HAVE THE VDC LIGHT GO OFF AND THE CAR WOULD BEGIN TO NOT ACCELERATE OVER 2,000 RPMS AND WOULD SHAKE THE CAR IN A VIOLENT MANNER. I HAVE HAD ERROR CODES P0101 AND P0725 COME UP AND DISSAPEAR THROUGH A PERIOD OF SIX MONTHS. I HAVE HAD TO INSTALL A NEW OEM MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR TO TRY TO FIX P0101 AND IT HAS RETURNED ON AND OFF. THE CAR HAS BEEN ACTING MUCH WEAKER THAN BEFORE AND WOULD HAVE LOTS OF HESITATION WHENEVER YOU WOULD GIVE IT ANY GAS. I HAVE TRIED TO SEARCH ONLINE TO FIX THIS BUT HAVE COME UP WITH NO DEFINITE ANSWER. I JUST WANT MY CAR TO BE RELIABLE AND THAT IS WHAT I EXPECTED WHEN THIS CAR WAS PURCHASED YET FOR IT TO START FAILING BEFORE THE 100K MARK, IT SHOWS HOW DEFECTIVE NISSAN PRODUCTS ARE. TAKATA RECALL I WAS DRIVING MY CAR AND CAME TO A STOP SIGN AND THE WHOLE CAR SHUT OFF, WHILE I WAS IN DRIVE. MY BATTERY WAS CORRODED AND SO WE THOUGHT THAT WAS THE ISSUE AND CHANGED THE BATTERY AND THE PROBLEM WORSENDED UP UNTIL YESTERDAY WHILE I WAS RIDING TO WORK, I ARRIVED AT A STOP LIGHT AND BEFORE THE LIGHT EVEN TURNED RED THE WHOLE CAR SHUT OFF AND LOCKED UP. THE BATTERY IS NEW, OIL HAD BEEN CHANGED HAT SAME DAY AS THE AIR FILTER AND THE MASS AIRFLOW SENSOR WERE CHANGED. THE MASS AIRFLOW SENSOR WAS CHANGED BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT I WAS TOLD WAS WHY MY ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. THE VERY DAY THE SAME ISSUES OCCURRED AND THE WHOLE CAR STOPPED AND DID NOT START AGAIN. PRIOR TO THIS, MY CAR SAT FOR A FEW DAYS, LIKE ANY CAR DOES ON THE WEEKEND AND I NEEDED A JUMP THE FOLLOWING SUNDAY NIGHT AND AFTER CHANGING THE BATTERY, THE PROBLEMS WORSENED AND AS I WAS DRIVING, IF I TURNED SLIGHTLY OR MADE A LEFT OR RIGHT TURN, MY SKIP CONTROL WOULD COME ON AND STAY ON AND I DRIVE ROUTINELY SO I KNEW IT WAS A NEW PROBLEM. ALSO, THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE INTO PARK ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE STEERING WHEEL ALSO LOCKED INTERMITTENTLY AND THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY THE BRAKE PEDAL AND FORCE THE STEERING WHEEL TO TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER MORE THAN THREE TIMES, BUT THE FAILURES RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE SEVERAL TIMES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,010.

THE VISOR ON OUR 2011 NISSAN SENTRA 2.0 S BLOCKS THE VIEW OF OUR REAR VIEW MIRROR. WE CANNOT USE OUR MIRROR SAFELY WITH THE VISOR DOWN. WE HAVE NOT TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP TO HAVE CHECKED. THE VEHICLE HAS HAD ISSUES WITH ABS ACTUATOR MAKING NOISES AND VIBRATING. DEALERSHIP COULD FIND NO PROBLEMS, BUT REFERRED TO NISSAN SERVICE BULLETIN. ON FEBRUARY 2, 2011, I WAS TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 20-25 MPH. AS I APPROACHED A RED LIGHT I ATTEMPTED TO DEPRESS MY BRAKES. AT THAT TIME THE PEDAL TRAVELED MORE THAN 3/4 OF THE WAY TO THE FLOOR ALMOST INSTANTLY. THERE WAS A LOUD METALLIC CLANKING AND GRINDING SOUND AND A VERY STRONG VIBRATION COMING FROM UNDER BRAKE PEDAL. ON MONDAY, JANUARY 17, BETWEEN 7:00PM AND 7:15PM, I AS WELL AS A PASSENGER THAT WAS WITH ME THAT EVENING WERE INVOLVED IN A COLLISION WITH A SEMI DUE TO A FAILURE OF OUR 2011 NISSAN SENTRA. WE DON'T REALLY KNOW IF IT WAS EITHER THE BRAKES OR THE ABS SYSTEM OR THE ONBOARD COMPUTER. AS WE WERE ON BELTLINE RD., HEADING TOWARDS ADDISON, TX FOR A DINNER PARTY AT A LOCAL RESTAURANT, WE CAME TO AN INTERSECTION AND ATTEMPTED TO COME TO A HALT, BUT, WHEN DOING SO THE CAR CAME TO A SLOW STEADY SPEED AND CONTINUED TO MOVE FORWARD, LESS THAN 5MPH BUT MORE THAN 2MPH. I PRESSED THE BRAKE A TOTAL OF 5 TIMES, TWO OF WHICH I SLAMMED THE BREAK UNTIL IT REACHED THE FLOORBOARD, UNTIL I WAS FORCED TO USE THE E BREAK. I TRIED PUTTING THE CAR IN PARK AS WELL BUT NOTHING SEEMED TO WORK. PRIOR TO LEAVING FOR THE RESTAURANT, WE HEARD AN INTERNAL KNOCKING SOUND. WE DIDN'T HAVE IT CHECKED OUT IMMEDIATELY DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT WAS A HOLIDAY AND MANY PLACES WERE ALREADY CLOSED. WE ALSO DIDN'T THINK IT WAS A DANGER TO US SIMPLY BECAUSE IT WAS THE FIRST TIME IT HAD EVER OCCURRED. WE DO NOT FEEL SAFE OPERATING THIS VEHICLE, AND WE WANT TO GET THE WORD OUT THERE THAT THIS CAR COULD BE DANGEROUS. WE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE TROPHY NISSAN IN MESQUITE, TX AND WERE GIVEN A RENTAL. WE PREFER THE RENTAL. IT WILL BE A MONTH UNTIL WE GET OUR CAR BACK, AND FRANKLY, THEY CAN KEEP IT. THERE WAS ONE OTHER RECALL THAT TOOK PLACE AS WELL AND THE DESCRIPTION MATCHES OUR INCIDENT.
